- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Trump's leadership.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm Christy nom the United States Secretary of Homeland Security.

- 1:01Speaker 4: So let's talk about this international player. You're saying you're
- 1:03Speaker 4: you're big all over a football curlent. A lot of
- 1:06Speaker 4: people probably don't know that. How does that work? Like
- 1:08Speaker 4: as far as like when did did you go to
- 1:10Speaker 4: like each market individually. Did you see the landscape and say, okay,
- 1:14Speaker 4: this Indonesia makes sense and China doesn't make sense? Like
- 1:19Speaker 4: and how were you able to sustain that over the
- 1:21Speaker 4: course of twenty years?
- 1:23Speaker 5: So, man, I feel like this is inspiring, Chunky, you got.
- 1:33Speaker 6: I gotta get it out.
- 1:39Speaker 7: I was sitting in my off one day and my
- 1:41Speaker 7: partner I distributed, and Norm came on me and said, hey, man,
- 1:43Speaker 7: this guy wants a license, your your brand.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Fool license. What the hell is a license?
- 1:49Speaker 3: He said?
- 1:49Speaker 5: Yeah, this is Jonah Cash. He's worth about six or seven.
- 1:53Speaker 7: Billion dollars almos a Serious Towers, a couple of brands
- 1:55Speaker 7: you may have heard of a guess Jordan ash he
- 1:58Speaker 7: wants to do food ladies. Well, what do you mean,
- 2:01Speaker 7: he said, with damon, you don't want to do lady
- 2:02Speaker 7: We don't want to do ladies. Why, well, we don't
- 2:04Speaker 7: make ladies clothes, I said, but I may close. Yeah, man,
- 2:08Speaker 7: a gene in men's right aside thirty four. There's four
- 2:12Speaker 7: sizes right, thirty four long, thirty four short, thirty four
- 2:14Speaker 7: bag and thirty four slam a dnipan in women's for
- 2:17Speaker 7: a size twelve, there's twenty one sizes.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Right, the thighs is big, the gap in the back.
- 2:24Speaker 7: Stretched crick thighs. He said, Yo, man, you don't want
- 2:28Speaker 7: to do this.
- 2:28Speaker 5: You want a license? What the hell is it like?
- 2:30Speaker 7: It's like a lease. You you know they'll they'll they'll
- 2:33Speaker 7: take this. You authorize, you put the models in, you
- 2:35Speaker 7: authorize everything, and they'll give you ten percent if you
- 2:40Speaker 7: will make your mouth, you're going to get fifteen percent
- 2:43Speaker 7: of gross, meaning if they do one million dollars they
- 2:47Speaker 7: probably will clear. In a good day, you'll clear twenty five,
- 2:50Speaker 7: maybe thirty percent, three hundred thousand. They'll give you one
- 2:54Speaker 7: hundred thousand dollars. I said, and what else I have
- 2:56Speaker 7: to do? No?
- 2:56Speaker 3: Nothing?
- 2:58Speaker 7: You mean, no staff, no winvent already, no financial capital
- 3:02Speaker 7: at arithm. No they're any And then so Jordash license
- 3:05Speaker 7: the brand. They go do one hundred million dollars. They
- 3:10Speaker 7: come back with ten million dollars and I'm like, I
- 3:13Speaker 7: didn't have to do anything for this, No you didn't.
- 3:16Speaker 7: You just have to keep the core customer happy. Then
- 3:20Speaker 7: we go on license boots bags, ladies, fragrant.
- 3:22Speaker 3: D da da da.
- 3:23Speaker 5: I was like, holy, this is like stealing.
- 3:25Speaker 7: This is like taking a cookie from a child, like
- 3:27Speaker 7: a two year old, Give me a cookie, right, So,
- 3:30Speaker 7: all of a sudden, they you want to license a territory.
- 3:32Speaker 7: What do you mean license a territory? You want to
- 3:34Speaker 7: try to go and build in Japan?
- 3:37Speaker 5: No, why would I do that?
- 3:38Speaker 7: Oh well, a trading company called Mitsubishi wants to license
- 3:42Speaker 7: your brand in Japan. Okay, ten million dollars come in
- 3:46Speaker 7: any other countries out there, and then we start rolling
- 3:49Speaker 7: them out because we learned the value of license. Don't
- 3:51Speaker 7: get me wrong. Licenses get me wrong too, because if
- 3:54Speaker 7: somebody takes in a license and they don't value or
- 3:57Speaker 7: respect your brand, and all of a sudden, your brand
- 4:00Speaker 7: in this department store looking really good, and the lady's
- 4:04Speaker 7: brand is out there on the corner of the street
- 4:06Speaker 7: Meet and Soft Serve and they're just trying to move
- 4:08Speaker 7: it really quick, and you're like, what happened? And it
- 4:10Speaker 7: can it can kill your brand. So that's really what happened.
- 4:13Speaker 7: We moved into into a lot of countries. Some work,
- 4:17Speaker 7: some didn't. But you when you when we were in Japan,
- 4:20Speaker 7: they want to wear more like characters like, so we
- 4:24Speaker 7: had to say we'll give you fifty percent of the
- 4:27Speaker 7: identification of the brand what it is here because they
- 4:29Speaker 7: love hip hop, and.
- 4:31Speaker 5: You can make your own.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Fifty percent of the type of styze you like, will
- 4:35Speaker 7: approve it, will approve all the advertising and all the marketing. Right,
- 4:39Speaker 7: And that's how we moved the countries. Some countries work,
- 4:41Speaker 7: some didn't.
- 4:43Speaker 4: So somebody else is essentially I give you ten percent,
- 4:47Speaker 4: and now everything is on me. I just get to
- 4:49Speaker 4: put fooble on it. But I gotta manufacture it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I gotta I gotta put it.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I gotta do all that stuff.
- 4:54Speaker 5: You gotta go to trade shows.
- 4:55Speaker 7: You gotta say your staff, every single thing is your job.
- 4:59Speaker 7: And then when in a traditional license, what happened is
- 5:02Speaker 7: is you you say, listen, I'll give you the first
- 5:04Speaker 7: eighteen months equals a year, right.
- 5:06Speaker 5: You got to develop the rand in six months, get
- 5:08Speaker 5: it out there. That's one year.
- 5:10Speaker 7: You got a three to five year license, right, so
- 5:13Speaker 7: five years you run the license. If you hit all
- 5:15Speaker 7: the things you're supposed to do and there's a minimum guarantee. Hey,
- 5:19Speaker 7: we believe we're going to do one million the first year,
- 5:21Speaker 7: five million, the second year, ten whatever case is on
- 5:24Speaker 7: and on. You're supposed to get a minimum of whatever
- 5:27Speaker 7: your license is ten percent, so million dollars a year.
- 5:30Speaker 7: You know, no matter what happens, they got to give
- 5:32Speaker 7: you one hundred thousand dollars. Now it's all like a partnership.
- 5:36Speaker 7: What if you had a rough time, What if somebody said,
- 5:38Speaker 7: what if I said something crazy about foolble windows hurt?
- 5:41Speaker 7: They can either try to say I don't want the
- 5:42Speaker 7: license no more. I can say, guys, I get it.
- 5:45Speaker 7: Only give me fifty. But if they're doing really good,
- 5:47Speaker 7: you can get five hundred thousands on that license, a million.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Everybody wants to win, right, And that's how you do
- 5:52Speaker 7: a license. And if you hit all the criterias and
- 5:55Speaker 7: let's say five years, you get an automatic renewal every
- 5:59Speaker 7: single year. Damn, I gave you one hundred, then I
- 6:02Speaker 7: gave you this. I gave you that, I built this
- 6:04Speaker 7: brand for you. I need an automatic renewal because I
- 6:07Speaker 7: hit all the marks. Right, So these are the way
- 6:10Speaker 7: licensing go is basically a lease. Right, It's like leasing
- 6:13Speaker 7: a car or leasing an apartment. But again, if you're
- 6:17Speaker 7: in Walmart, well your license maybe three percent because Walmart
- 6:20Speaker 7: is going to do ten million a year automatically. But
- 6:24Speaker 7: the margin is more smaller on the profit. So that's
- 6:28Speaker 7: the way license is.
- 6:29Speaker 8: Will do you think because the margins are so much
- 6:31Speaker 8: smaller and maybe you get the ten million that maybe people?
- 6:37Speaker 6: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.

- 8:27Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 8:31Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador

- 8:47Speaker 2: Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Nohm, the.
- 8:50Speaker 1: United States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted

- 9:20Speaker 1: Under President Trump, America's laws, border and families will be protected.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 9:27Speaker 8: That are in the fashion world, especially from our culture,
- 9:30Speaker 8: decided to go with the sell route rather than what
- 9:33Speaker 8: route selling the company because we've seen people sell their
- 9:36Speaker 8: clothing brands rather than going the route of leasing. They
- 9:39Speaker 8: might not even know them, that was the other part,
- 9:42Speaker 8: or are they weren't educating in.
- 9:44Speaker 7: The you know, you know businesses. Everything is in art,
- 9:50Speaker 7: right and money. If you are running a business, often
- 9:55Speaker 7: the boss doesn't get paid.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:59Speaker 5: It's a huge cab suck.
- 10:00Speaker 7: You're bringing the money, You're investing some here, you're investing
- 10:03Speaker 7: some there, right and you're paying for all the great
- 10:06Speaker 7: people that work for you, the advertise in the marketing,
- 10:08Speaker 7: and you don't get paid. We happened to have a
- 10:11Speaker 7: great distribution deal. We had another trading company, Samsung, who
- 10:14Speaker 7: was manufacturing and distributing on clothes right, and we were
- 10:18Speaker 7: being able to finanswer through there. But you often have
- 10:21Speaker 7: to raise funds and sometimes people sell to take money
- 10:24Speaker 7: off the table. Sometimes they sell because they go I've
- 10:28Speaker 7: been I've had plenty. I hear this about, I hear
- 10:33Speaker 7: this about. I don't know ten times a year. I
- 10:35Speaker 7: was the richest, poorest man or woman in the room.
- 10:38Speaker 7: Why I was doing two hundred million dollars. I lived
- 10:43Speaker 7: a great life, cars, that's whatever. But I wasn't saving
- 10:47Speaker 7: enough because if I even made an extra ten million,
- 10:50Speaker 7: I'm putting it back in the business. So now a
- 10:52Speaker 7: public company came in and took me out right and
- 10:55Speaker 7: gave me took out fifty one percent. I took a
- 10:57Speaker 7: good amount of money at the table. I got an
- 10:59Speaker 7: now work for it for three years of the face
- 11:01Speaker 7: and operated no problem. So you'll always come across those challenges.
- 11:07Speaker 7: That's a very personal decision.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Why are you in business?
- 11:09Speaker 7: Do you want partners do you want to be taken out.
- 11:12Speaker 7: There's a lot of people who've had companies who end
- 11:14Speaker 7: up not having anything at the end of the day
- 11:17Speaker 7: because they put the money in so much. Everybody got paid.
- 11:21Speaker 7: You know one person who got paid more than all
- 11:23Speaker 7: of us, our gene maker in the beginning. You know
- 11:25Speaker 7: what he said, guy from China. He said, I don't
- 11:28Speaker 7: care if you make a gene for four dollars, you
- 11:30Speaker 7: make it a fifty dollars.
- 11:31Speaker 5: I want one dollar a gene.
- 11:33Speaker 7: I will, I'll handle it, I'll i'll get the buttons,
- 11:36Speaker 7: I'll put the sewing. All the things you want together,
- 11:38Speaker 7: I'll put together, I'll package, I'll queer customs whatever.
- 11:41Speaker 5: He made one dollar a gene.
- 11:44Speaker 7: Five years in he made thirty million jenes. He didn't
- 11:48Speaker 7: have any staff, he didn't have to do any advertising,
- 11:53Speaker 7: any marketing. So there's a lot of people who are
- 11:55Speaker 7: gonna get paid often and you don't. You'll turn around,
- 11:59Speaker 7: you have a tail store. But who got paid. I
- 12:02Speaker 7: give you a I'll give you an instance. One of
- 12:04Speaker 7: my buddies, really wealthy real estate guy. He talks to
- 12:07Speaker 7: a huge, huge celebrity that we all know, we all
- 12:10Speaker 7: know of.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Not an African American celebrities. Happened a celebrity.
- 12:14Speaker 7: And the guy was like, yeah, you know, I'm opening
- 12:16Speaker 7: all these stores in these areas and he has all
- 12:18Speaker 7: a lot of different type of stuff. He said, Oh, cool,
- 12:21Speaker 7: you owning in the stores. He said, no, No, I
- 12:24Speaker 7: don't know.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I don't ownly in that real.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Estate, you know.
- 12:26Speaker 7: And let's say, I'm not gonna say what he's selling,
- 12:28Speaker 7: because you know, you'll know what he's selling. He's changed
- 12:30Speaker 7: his business now. And he was on the phone with
- 12:32Speaker 7: these big agents, these agents.
- 12:34Speaker 3: On the phone with him.
- 12:34Speaker 7: He was on the phone. Everybody, everybody's on the phone,
- 12:37Speaker 7: and he just kind of wanted to talk to my
- 12:38Speaker 7: real estate guy. My real estate guy said, let's say
- 12:40Speaker 7: he was just selling I don't know, let's say he
- 12:45Speaker 7: was selling juices, green drinks. And he said, so you
- 12:47Speaker 7: don't even real estate.
- 12:48Speaker 5: He said no.
- 12:49Speaker 7: He said, you're.
- 12:51Speaker 5: A fucking schmuck.
- 12:54Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 12:55Speaker 5: He said, what the agent's on the phone. You can't
- 12:57Speaker 5: talk to him like that.
- 12:58Speaker 7: He's one of the biggest stars in normal And he said,
- 13:00Speaker 7: hold on, why you call me a smug You got
- 13:04Speaker 7: to deal with bringing in the juice, making the juice
- 13:06Speaker 7: to employees. The taxes, all the kinds of advertising marketing.
- 13:08Speaker 7: I get paid whether you sell a goddamn juice or not.
- 13:11Speaker 7: You're a schmuck. Everybody hung up the phone. Yo, you
- 13:18Speaker 7: can't talk to him like that. He's not used to
- 13:19Speaker 7: talking like I know why he's not like. You know
- 13:21Speaker 7: why he's not used to talking like that because you're
- 13:22Speaker 7: busy trying to make twenty percent of every deal you do,
- 13:25Speaker 7: And I get it. You don't want to tie him
- 13:27Speaker 7: up with people who may not do the right or
- 13:28Speaker 7: the wrong thing with him, so you don't look crazy.
- 13:30Speaker 5: But he's a schmuck.
- 13:33Speaker 7: That star called the guy separately, flew out to where
- 13:37Speaker 7: he was and was like and sat with him for
- 13:38Speaker 7: three days and said, let me look through your paper
- 13:40Speaker 7: as if possible.
- 13:41Speaker 5: You know, kind of mentor me. Now that guy owned
- 13:43Speaker 5: all the real estate.
- 13:45Speaker 7: But there's a lot of people who can get paid
- 13:47Speaker 7: out of your business, and you don't if you don't
- 13:51Speaker 7: tweak things the right way.
- 13:53Speaker 4: That's a fact. Pretty much working to pay everybody else.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Everybody's getting paid hisself for you.
- 13:58Speaker 7: That entrepreneurship at the time, because when you start, you
- 14:02Speaker 7: don't own anything. When you start, you want to you
- 14:04Speaker 7: want to solve a problem, right, you know, you guys
- 14:07Speaker 7: started by wanting to solve a problem. There's something out
- 14:09Speaker 7: there that is not entertaining but educating. And we want
- 14:12Speaker 7: to make sure we bring in a certain way. And
- 14:14Speaker 7: we wanted to be a value to a very certain community.
- 14:17Speaker 7: But we want to bring everybody out there. And once
- 14:19Speaker 7: it's a value here, it'll it'll flow, no problem and
- 14:22Speaker 7: and and we just want to solve a problem. You
- 14:25Speaker 7: guys didn't own microphone, the microphone company. You didn't own
- 14:28Speaker 7: the camera company. Now you can honestly do more of
- 14:31Speaker 7: what you have and and do things. But when you start,
- 14:35Speaker 7: all you're trying to do is solve a problem. You're
- 14:37Speaker 7: not thinking about owning anything. All you need is help, right,
- 14:40Speaker 7: And that's that. But where during that time do you
- 14:43Speaker 7: switch and say? Barbara Corkroon always say it was the
- 14:47Speaker 7: building she owned more than the building she sold, that
- 14:50Speaker 7: she realized she made more money, she decided to put
- 14:52Speaker 7: bigger offices in bigger building that she owned.
