- Mark Hayes (00:01.55) All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. The Supreme Court says no more than once to Donald Trump. What is going on here? Has the Don finally lost control of his, let's say, purchased Supreme Court and those six jokers that he has on that Supreme Court? Brock and Ellis joins me live for the beautiful confines of the upper Westchester Valley, upper Hudson River Valley, just north of New York City. Brock, what say you? Has he finally lost control of those six morons that sit on the Supreme Court that have given him just about everything he's asked for up until now? Brock Ganeles (00:45.415) No, I don't think he's lost control of them. He certainly ha certainly four of them are in his back pocket. You know, Roberts will once in a while go against them. And Amy Comey Barrett, she of the ridiculous Haitian deportation decision, will once in a while go against Trump as well. And it appears to be on, you know, kind of voting rights oriented issues where sometimes she'll hold the line. Mark Hayes (00:56.119) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (01:14.397) Which is what she did today. I mean, we think this is a big win for the left, which every win matters, every game matters, but it just means that right we're mailing ballots will get counted even if they arrive after the elections. So you can't totally manipulate the US Postal Service, slow shit down, and then say, you know, ballots are invalid. So it's sorta it's something of a victory for fair elections. Mark Hayes (01:37.75) Right. Brock Ganeles (01:43.177) But still a pretty pretty moderate pretty moderate one. But to answer your question, Trump doesn't I mean, I guess he doesn't have a hundred percent control. I still feel like he's dictating ninety eight percent ninety eight percent of the shit's getting rubber stamped by the Supreme Court. So I'm not ecstatic. Mark Hayes (01:59.191) Right. Right. But but here's my question is why? Stevie Wonder can see that this guy is on death's door. and he's not gonna be around forever. There is no one to you know put the emperor's no clothes on. Rubio, Vance, Bannon, you know, Roger Stone, none of these Yahoos. Can pull off what Trump has been able to pull off. nobody has that street credibility with the people who scrolled shit on the walls of the Capitol to be able to move that movement forward. So when Trump dies, so does the MAGA movement, in my estimation. So why why does the Supreme Court have feel like they need to continue to rubber stamp his shit? Why do these you know, senators feel like they need to do I don't get it, bro. I d I just don't get it. Brock Ganeles (03:02.052) Okay, here's my supposition. I believe the Heritage Fund, Leon Leo, Project 2025 architects believe that if they reorient American democracy, they can stay in control beyond Trump. That they can rig the system in a way where the candidate doesn't really matter, that it's pretty much a lock. Mark Hayes (03:12.494) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (03:22.518) Brock Ganeles (03:31.219) for MAGA to MAGA conservative right wing whatever we're calling these fuckers after Trump dies that they can they can win if they've reshuffled the deck and how the what the rules of engagement are. I think that's what they have to believe You know, that's what a Russell Voigt has you know believes. Cause they they they're watching Trump die in front of their eyes, right? So they know he's gonna die. So I think that's what they think. They can architect their way around it and it won't matter who the candidate is, as long as that candidate is espousing the same racism, the same xenophobia, and you know, toe in the party line, that they'll have manipulated things in a way to allow for minority rule. What do you I mean, what do you think of that thesis? Mark Hayes (04:23.914) I first of all, it scares the living crap out of me. but it makes sense, right? Because I mean, think about all the damage that's been done already, right? The the the Trump 1.0 damage that we weren't able to undo in four years under President Biden. And we've still got more to go, right? This is Like what's happened the last eighteen months is just frighten. We don't even we really don't even know until we get in there and start figuring out exactly what's been done. We can only see the surface stuff and the people who've been fired and let go and run out of the building and and walked off. Right? But we don't know the underpinnings of what Project Twenty Twenty Five has done, even though they put it on paper. But that scares that thesis carries a lot of weight. I mean, it's it Brock Ganeles (05:16.392) And some of the impacts of Project Twenty Twenty Five take a while to play out. That's why we talked a little bit about Doji yesterday. Yeah, it doji's a year in the history books, but we're still seeing the ramifications of the unwinding of all those agencies and all those, you know, dollars that were flowing to make America more equal and deliver at least some modicum of opportunity. Mark Hayes (05:21.378) Right. Brock Ganeles (05:43.549) To all Americans. Well, that got stripped away. So a year later, there's a there's a news story about four women with nine advanced degrees without jobs. Well, it didn't happen in a 48-hour period. That all started a year plus ago. Three million people didn't just drop off the ACA rolls the other day, but that was the day the article was written when it was noticed. That of course happened when we s stripped away the Medicaid funding. Mark Hayes (05:58.19) Yeah. Mark Hayes (06:02.797) No. Brock Ganeles (06:10.96) So of course people were gonna eventually have to roll, you know, roll off the ACA enrollment. They couldn't afford it anymore. So we have to look at things big picture and step back, not always be chasing the story of the day because the impacts of the Project 2025 unwinding of America unfold over time. Right? Not all those kids in Africa died in the first 24 hours when we took all that funding away. Mark Hayes (06:34.349) Right. Mark Hayes (06:40.884) USAID. Brock Ganeles (06:40.926) They died over the next year. Kids didn't go hungry in America overnight, but we take away food stamp funding and free school lunches. Well, kids are going hungrier and hungrier by the day. So we gotta stay with the stories when we just kinda we avert our gaze to the story de jour. Mark Hayes (06:55.885) Right. Mark Hayes (07:02.476) Right. Brock Ganeles (07:03.068) We make the same mistake that Project Twenty Twenty Five wants, which is flood the zone, keep chasing the next thing. Let's have Trump out there as this, you know, a circus master. He'll entertain and keep their eyes over here on stupid shit like reflecting pools while we're changing the underlying voting system in America. Like we're re reworking democracy, you know, while he's got UFC fuckery. So he's happy when that's what everyone talks about. Mark Hayes (07:14.413) Right. Mark Hayes (07:33.205) Right. And in the meantime, you know, like you said, the the the nine degrees, four women, not a single steady paycheck. it didn't happen in a vacuum, just like USAID. And nobody put two and two together. That the apartheid baby, Elon Musk, was the one behind eliminating all that funding to USAID. And all the f remember all the food, the thousands and thousands of tons of food that was thrown away. Because we couldn't God forbid we give it to poor kids in the US, but we're definitely not giving it, you know, to the people who were supposed to get it because they were black and brown. I mean, it's just absolutely disgusting that we can't put two and two and go ahead and follow that story. Why why is NBC News not following that story? Why is ABC why is 60 Minutes not following that story? Because it's not good for business. And Trump. Brock Ganeles (08:28.85) White South African guy with a grudge about apartheid strips away half a trillion dollars in aid going to countries in Africa, primarily black lead. Mark Hayes (08:40.908) Yep. Right. Brock Ganeles (08:41.298) what a what a shocker. What a shocker. The guy who left South Africa because it you know, post Mandela because it was no longer minority rule has a grudge against the rest of Africa and his first opportunity strips the funding away. I mean, the racism underlies so much of this, but we gotta stay with the stories longer term. Today we gotta win in the Supreme Court. We, meaning democracy got a win, or we the left got a win at Mark Hayes (08:47.714) Right. Mark Hayes (08:55.502) Right. Mark Hayes (09:03.617) Right. Brock Ganeles (09:08.784) maybe a s better chance at a fair election in November and in two years. But this was just one of thousands of initiatives that Project 2025 has going on and at local, state, and federal levels to try to, you know manipulate the vote, suppress the vote, count the vote, intimidated people into not voting, you know, all those types of strategies that are in place. To try to win an election in November to start, because that's the first one, that they shouldn't win. I mean, just looking at the polls and popularity of policies and the like, Democrats should destroy Republicans. But Mark Hayes (09:57.023) Right. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (09:58.975) Who but will they? Mark Hayes (10:01.1) Who knows? We'll have to see. What what kind of fuckery does Elon, the Doji Boys, the Muskrats, you know, what kind of, you know, satellites have they plugged into? You know, how are they gonna you know, the Dominion voting machines, the Dominion Company has been sold off to a right wing friendly, you know, conglomerate? that's probably going to do the old bugs bunny count. One for you, one, two, three for me, two for you, one, two, three, four for me. Yeah, I I mean, you know, how are we letting this stuff go on in broad daylight? Which is insane to me. The other news from the Supreme Court is that they rejected Trump's push. You know, to toss that verdict with Egene Carroll and the sexual abuse case. So he's got to pay up at some point. This fucking guy doesn't want to pay. you know, because he never he's never paid. but he's certainly stolen enough money where he could write her the check for what was it, eighty-eight million plus another five million? I mean, Jesus, pay the lady off. You're right there. Brock Ganeles (11:07.678) Jump change. I'm sure there's I'm sure there's some fuckers in Saudi Arabia or some other Middle East country just cut that check for him. They're getting so much so many So many kickbacks or AI intelligence getting thrown their way that they that they shouldn't be getting. Or or intelligence coming from the US on operatives in their own countries that they shouldn't be getting. So yeah, the eighty eight million's nothing. It's just Trump, you know, that's just Trump he's just an asshole. Right? Ha the fact that that even got to the Supreme Court is a joke. Yeah, there's no way that that Mark Hayes (11:23.19) Okay. Mark Hayes (11:29.46) Insanity. Mark Hayes (11:34.242) Right. Mark Hayes (11:37.88) Right. Brock Ganeles (11:40.317) should have been on the dock in it in our our our utmost co yeah, our utmost court would have spending any time any time on that. Mark Hayes (11:42.456) Something is black and white. Mark Hayes (11:47.744) Right. Right. it Brock Ganeles (11:50.803) But the but the election goes back to the quiet coup, the the attempt to right, because it's either gonna be a quiet coup or a loud coup. So first, Project 2025 is gonna try the quiet way, which is changing all the rules and regulations so it makes it appear as though everything they're doing is illegal. So change the laws in all kinds of different ways to give an impromptu of legality to the stripping away of democracy. Mark Hayes (11:58.463) Right. Mark Hayes (12:09.1) Right. Mark Hayes (12:14.848) Right. Right. Brock Ganeles (12:17.382) And if that doesn't work, that's where Trump, you know, will get violent. That's will martial law come into play. That's where voter intimidation will come into play. If it can't be done the quiet way, it'll be done the loud way. Which is why I still feel like we're headed for a major clash and confrontation in this country. And as much as we have the great vibes and people are outside and partying having a great time, we still have a very, very violent Mark Hayes (12:22.551) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (12:47.728) power hungry, racist, minority party in place with a psychopath at the at the head of it. Mark Hayes (12:52.63) Right. Mark Hayes (12:56.66) At the helm, yeah. are the American people gonna go for a power grab? A military power grab like we see in third world countries, like we see in places where we go, and say don't don't do it that way, do it our way. Do it the way we do it in America. We do it the right way with with democracy, a government for and of the people, by the people. Brock Ganeles (13:26.086) Let me ask you this. Will MAGA accept a loss at the polls in November? Will they accept will they accept the loss? Mark Hayes (13:31.23) No, absolutely not. No. MAGA has, you know, what? One way to look at this thing. Either we win or they cheated. That's the only way they look at this. Brock Ganeles (13:42.225) Okay. So they're gonna try every voter suppression and every voter manipulation, every tactic under the sun. Let's say even with all of those efforts, it's the Democrats still win the House, maybe even like take the Senate. Let's say they don't even take the Senate. Let's say they just take the House, because that's the more obvious one. Forty-50 person elected swing. Will Republicans accept? Mark Hayes (13:50.572) Yeah. Yeah. Mark Hayes (14:05.431) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (14:11.132) That the Democrats took the House? Or will Trump say that those elections were rigged, dispute them, not allow these Democrats to s to seat and not have a peaceful transition of power in the Congress? Because if the answer to that question is no, Mark Hayes (14:26.539) All of the all of that. Brock Ganeles (14:31.708) then how do we avoid conflict? Mark Hayes (14:35.272) Yeah, we we don't. there is going to be conflict because the numbers we can beat him so badly by the numbers that he there's not enough cheating to go around. Right? Because it just won't it won't make sense. Brock Ganeles (14:52.646) Yeah, possibly. Yeah, like Orban. Orbon wanted to cheat, but he got steamrolled. It was too the numbers were too big. It could happen. The numbers could be too big to to manipulate. But what if but it won't stop Trump from from saying that the election was was rigged. Right? He's gonna say it. Right? Is it or or does Trump not care as much about Congress? He's just worried about his next Mark Hayes (14:55.822) Right. Right. Mark Hayes (15:03.758) Right. Mark Hayes (15:12.654) Right. Brock Ganeles (15:19.686) And he'll just be focused on himself and his presidential election, or is he going to in essence dispute the results? Mark Hayes (15:28.342) Yeah. Well I mean yeah. Brock Ganeles (15:29.198) Then the then the then it's like a tennis match. Then the ball's back in the people's court. Trump's disputed the results and they're not allowing the new Democrat the the new Congress to get sworn in. Then what? Mark Hayes (15:33.208) Right. Mark Hayes (15:41.067) Right. Yeah, it's it's it's it's absolutely going to be the same playbook. And you I mean, you know, we could just basically call it right now. we know what's gonna happen. We know he's gonna, you know, play the victim role. We know he's going to, you know, tell everyone, hey, look what I did for my friends before. You know, just get me back in power and nobody goes to prison. You know, I want you to come in here, smear shit, kill people, bring the gallows so we can hang people. All of the above. You know, if we have to hang JD Vance, we will. He'll do it all. He doesn't care. Because he knows, Brock, it's all self-preservation. If he doesn't if he doesn't stay in power, he's going to prison. There is no way. Yes. Brock Ganeles (16:28.882) Yeah. The Epstein files come out. If the Epstein files ever get released, Trump will be vili beyond embarrassed and vilified. He'll look like the worst human being in American history, which is what he is, but there'll be evidence of it. Mark Hayes (16:43.788) Right. Right. Right. Especially when it comes to, you know, government officials. We've never had anything like this. Yeah. Step aside. There is no way. There is no scenario in which he concedes nor steps aside. There is no scenario. Brock Ganeles (16:51.336) So he's going to the bitter end. I I see stories, people thinking that he's gonna step aside. He's not fucking stepping aside. No fucking way. Who can't? Brock Ganeles (17:07.176) So it's coming our way. So we're just gonna we're coming to this in four months. It's nice to get a Supreme Court ruling today that's somewhat favorable, but we're coming down this path. I mean, November fifth may be like D Day in America's cause that might be the day that MAGA refuses to acknowledge the results of an election. Mark Hayes (17:25.228) Yeah. Yep. Brock Ganeles (17:30.002) Then what? Marsha are we g we hitting the streets, martial law? Are the troops getting called? Are shots gonna be fired on American streets? You know, then then we start playing out the game theory of what happens next. Mark Hayes (17:31.766) Yeah. Well, you know. Mark Hayes (17:40.682) I think we have to hit the streets. I think we have to hit the streets because there's no other way than for the American people to make it known that we want our government or some semblance of what it used to be to go back to a democracy. What we had defined as the American experiment. but once we get rid of all these MAGA assholes. We want a more inclusive, multicultural, multi-ethnic, multiracial, you know society, inclusive society that allows us all a voice, that allows us all an opportunity to, you know, achieve the American dream. We shouldn't see African-American women with nine degrees between the four of them and not have one single steady paycheck. And then you've still got people out here saying racism doesn't exist. Okay? You know, women lie, men lie, the numbers don't lie, right? The numbers bear out the fact that this was a calculated, planned, and executed assault on the most educated population in our society. And there is no two ways around it. We've already done it to the black male. Right? We've already, you know, damn near wiped us off the map with incarceration, drugs, crime, murder, black on black crime, right? We've done everything, music. We've done everything we could do to the black male. Next was the black female. Right? The assault on the black family has been going on since Mark Hayes (19:40.025) You know, slavery was ended. And so it's just a different approach. and it gets more barbaric as we move along in time. You know, it evolves, but it's still barbaric. And we we we can't afford to sit for it any longer, especially black America. Black America can Brock Ganeles (20:02.814) We're we're gonna see. We're gonna see if the the the joyous outpouring in New York, the World Cup, which is you know, just ecstasy and huge crowds of people outside, intermingling, being multi c racial and multi ethnic, multicultural, i embracing it. It's almost like a dry run for what protests will look like in November. That's the crowd that's gonna have to be out there. It's gonna have to be young people like it is in New York and how it is with the World Cup. And it's a dry run. We'll s we'll see if after World Cup's over, three months later when the election rolls around, whether America still has the muscle memory to get out there when they're pushed to get out there. Because it's it feels inevitable. Mark Hayes (20:36.718) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (20:56.018) That MAG is not that he's is either going to steal the selection or not acknowledge it. And in either scenario, we're gonna have to protest in huge numbers. Like we've we've avoided it for what's coming up on two years. And everyone's gonna have to get out there. No one's gonna be able to sit at home and say, Well, you know, I don't wanna get shot, I don't wanna get hurt, I don't want this. Like if we want democracy, everyone's gonna have to take that risk together. Mark Hayes (21:01.688) Right. Mark Hayes (21:09.954) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (21:25.96) And they're also gonna have to push their brethren, their cousins, their brothers, their sisters, their family members, their friends who are in the armed forces to say Mark Hayes (21:25.963) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (21:38.568) Put your guns down. Do not support this regime. You're not on their side. You know, it's gonna be a real battle for hearts and minds. Mark Hayes (21:43.182) Right. Right. Right. And that's the scary part, is that, you know, it's sad that we'll it'll come to us having to fight for our rights and lay down lay down our lives against our own military, more than likely. Now how will our military respond? How will the national how will national guards around the country respond? Will the National Guard in Maryland be sent to fight against the the National Guard from West Virginia? Right? Because you might have two, you know, conflicting ideologies there. Right? You know, will it be the North and South again? Brock, what are we looking at here? Brock Ganeles (22:37.852) Mark, I saw an interesting guy in a podcast two days ago and he said something that that you just reminded me of as you were saying that, which is that he said that the South won the civil war. The South won the Civil War because the South's ideology ultimately won America. That they yeah, they may have lost those battles, General Lee may have signed that, you know, that you know he basically admitted defeat, right, at Appomattox. But in the end, with Reconstruction, everything that went on after, the South really is dominated. Mark Hayes (22:58.35) Prevailed. Yep. It prevailed. Mark Hayes (23:10.86) Right. Right. Brock Ganeles (23:19.922) the philosophy and the governing of America. So did they really lose the Civil War? Maybe they lost their slaves, but they kind of worked around it with Jim Crow and other things. So it's kind of interesting. So you say, I don't know, in Maryland and West Virginia are they gonna go are the National Guards going to go head to head? These things aren't they're not crazy notions. These aren't scenarios that are off the table. Like something's going something's gonna go down. Mark Hayes (23:24.557) Right. Mark Hayes (23:30.208) Right. They did try to work around. Yep. Mark Hayes (23:44.91) Pronto. Não. Brock Ganeles (23:49.115) Everyone's gonna have to make a decision on both where they stand and how much they're willing to risk in order to have their vision of America. Mark Hayes (23:58.221) Right. Yeah. Yeah. I'm I mean that's true, bro. And it's scary. Brock Ganeles (24:04.37) We haven't talked about this serious shit in a while because there's been such good vibes over the last four to six weeks. Well when big decisions get in front of the Supreme Court about our democracy and our voting and who's counting them and who gets the vote, because there's still a lot of other things sitting in front of the court, right? Whether certain states are allowed you are allowed to force their citizens to prove their citizenship in order to vote. I mean, there's a lot of quote rule changes that are Mark Hayes (24:09.687) Right. Mark Hayes (24:20.15) no doubt. Mark Hayes (24:27.105) Right. Mark Hayes (24:32.321) Right. Brock Ganeles (24:33.106) that are still being decided and most of them are going MAGA's direction. We got one today. Woohoo, we got one. But most of them are going MAGA's direction. I mean Amy Comey Barrett and Roberts aren't often going against Trump. Right? It's a story w it's a story when they do. Mark Hayes (24:38.294) Right. Right. Mark Hayes (24:47.798) No, no, not at all. Right. all right, quick hit me, brother. What do you got? Brock Ganeles (24:56.808) Did you see this? I guess they're calling it the Great American State Fair, which by the way is fucking like it is empty. So if you kinda want to know where the people are, they're on the streets of New York and at the World Cup, they ain't at that state fair. But the North Carolina booth, which was a public-private partnership, had a bunch of videos with Confederate flags in it. That was their way of honoring America on the 250th anniversary. Mark Hayes (25:06.829) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (25:26.374) was to have the Confederate flag as a part of their display. Mark Hayes (25:31.415) A symbol of hate and divisiveness. Yeah. How about it? Unity in the community. Why don't we just showcase the the greatest American symbol of hate and divisiveness? Awesome. I tell you, Brock, I never had more trouble than our youth hockey games than in North Carolina. Every time we went to North Carolina, some cracker jack had something to say to my kid. Every Even to the point where he didn't he had to fight a kid that had to be 6'1, 180 pounds, as like a 12-year-old, 13-year-old. And my kid was a little teeny bopper at the time. And I I was like, what is I said, what like at one point I had to say to these parents, what is wrong with you people? What is wrong with you? I'd like you to all go home, get your cars off your lawn. Read a book and learn how to act in civilized society. It's just ridiculous. All right, moving on. yeah, North Carolina doesn't surprise me. No wonder my father would never go back home, except for one week out of the year for vacation. Mother Khadijah. Khadijah Farrakhan has passed away. Longtime wife of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. She died over the weekend this past Saturday. Brock Ganeles (26:37.118) What do you get? Mark Hayes (27:00.894) the NOI announced that she was 90 years old. be interesting to see how she will be honored and remembered. I know she'll definitely be revered on the south side of Chicago. you know, where the mosque that Louis Farrakhan presides over. but what will America say about the nation of Islam? I I it's funny. To see so much criticism of well-dressed men in bow ties with neat haircuts trying to teach the fruits of Islam and trying to teach what's in the Quran and trying to teach what it is to be a Muslim. And you know, it's fun it's it's interesting when you watch the movie Malcolm X. If you haven't seen it, and you see the transformation that Malcolm X undergoes toward the end of the movie. It is a very fascinating movie. And it'll cause you to do more research on the Nation of Islam. so I I I I encourage people, you know, to re do some research, do some fact-checking. Don't just rely on Hollywood or, you know, mainstream American media. Do your own work to find out what good they've done on the South Side of Chicago and in so many men's lives. Brock Ganeles (28:31.804) Historically I've not been a Farrakhan guy because he was pretty pretty anti he was pretty anti s you know, anti I don't wanna label him totally anti Semitic, but had a lot of negative comments towards towards Jews. Yeah. Mark Hayes (28:35.062) There's a surprise for me. Mark Hayes (28:44.46) Lotta negative comments about the Jewish family, about about the Jewish contingent in America. Yeah, it's very critical. Brock Ganeles (28:50.258) Yeah. And it didn't you know and I I always hate when there's black and Jewish friction 'cause we should be more natural allies. I w always felt that way. That's Mark Hayes (29:01.762) Well we were. Remember we were during the sixties. Brock Ganeles (29:03.528) We were often happening. I like that's why Jews when I I was just in Mississippi, Jews take so much pride. There's sadness that two Jews got killed in Mississippi with one black guy. But the fact that two Jews were down there fighting for black people's civil rights, the fact that they were there has always been a source of pride in the Jewish community. And because Jews have been persecuted so much over time, th they should be the Mark Hayes (29:12.856) Yeah. Mark Hayes (29:16.578) More vote rights. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (29:28.472) Easiest to recognize persecution of others, which is why I'm very unhappy about the anti-Israel vibe and what's going on in Gaza, and what I see is like, in essence, another Jewish black rift going on in America. Although I feel like the Jews are split right now. There's like a 50% that kind of are anti this Israeli government, and then there's a 50% that are just Israel, whatever they do, doesn't matter. They're just fighting for their own. Mark Hayes (29:51.436) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (29:57.527) Right. Brock Ganeles (29:58.319) survival, they can get a you know, they can do anything. So we have our own little mini civil war going on as to where people want to stand going forward and what America's role with Israel should be. I don't know, I got off on a little Jewish tangent there. I know you're starting with a black point, but whenever Farrakhan comes up I go that direction. Because he spoke at my college and I actually boycotted. That was twenty year old Brock and Ellis did not attend Lewis Farrakhan's speech because of the anti Semitic Mark Hayes (30:16.258) Yeah. Mark Hayes (30:26.516) Uh-huh. And Wesley and he spoke at Wesley. Brock Ganeles (30:28.282) That was I think the first the first political action of my life, conscious political action of my life was that was that boycott. in retrospect, I kind of wish I had gone and heard it. But at the time, you know, I was probably pretty servicey on the knowledge, and I was just kinda like, you know what, I don't he doesn't deserve for me to be in the arena without like retracting those statements. Mark Hayes (30:37.152) Wow, you blew off the Faircon speech. Nice. Mark Hayes (30:45.932) Right. Mark Hayes (30:56.546) Well well, you know, you can't beat yourself up. That was a very different time, the mid eighties. If you're talking about eighty eighty four, eighty five, eighty six. Yeah. That's a that's a different time. You know, we didn't have twenty four hour news cycles. All we heard was what the mainstream media told us. You know, just like just like, you know, my real first political action was, you know, the Lee Atwater protest at Howard University. Brock Ganeles (31:04.124) Yeah, yeah. It was probably gonna be eighty six yeah five eighty six. Mark Hayes (31:24.098) You know, the author of the Southern Southern Strategy. And you know, they wanted to put him on the board at Howard University so he could dismantle the freaking thing. Right? We're putting this guy on the board. Are you freaking kidding me? He he is not the answer to more federal funding. He's the answer to less, a whole lot less. Brock Ganeles (31:37.372) Yeah, yeah. Mark Hayes (31:45.718) So, you know, we have people like Thurgood Marshall coming out of Howard University. And and many other name too many other names to cite, including Kamala Harris. So, you know, Kamala Harris was probably there for that protest as well. I'm sure she was. so yeah, so I I I mean I get it. I get it. All right, you got anything else for me? Brock Ganeles (32:09.736) Tomorrow. Tomorrow's an important day for the Democratic Socialist Movement because we have primaries in Colorado. Primaries which had pretty established f candidate favorites roughly 60 days ago and now a bunch of Mark Hayes (32:17.758) Brock Ganeles (32:27.944) primaries that have been flipped on their head and are very, very competitive because the more progressive candidates have caught fire here since the Knicks and the New York Euphoria and the New York socialist victory. So now there's a bunch of races, including governor, that seem to be very much toss-ups in the primary. So it's just gonna be interesting to see if the whole that Mandani movement type of thing, I mean I still think it's an outgrowth of the Bernie AOC movement. Mark Hayes (32:35.884) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (32:48.311) Right. Mark Hayes (32:56.45) Right. Brock Ganeles (32:57.712) you know, wins races outside of the Northeast. 'Cause if it does, then that means we got a whole new ball game in the Democratic Party. Mark Hayes (33:01.313) Yeah. Mark Hayes (33:08.074) Right. Right. It'll be interesting to see. We'll keep an eye on it. All right, buddy. Great place to work it out. Always. Revolution. Brock Ganeles (33:12.124) Yeah. All right Mark, always a pleasure. Speak to you tomorrow.
