A 27-year-old man, Dasean Matthews, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the horrific death of two-year-old Mars Jones, who died from head trauma after being repeatedly beaten by his father. The abuse occurred over several incidents — including at a Dunkin’ Donuts, a parking garage, and in a car — with video evidence capturing Matthews striking the toddler. The child was found unconscious by his mother outside an apartment building and later died five days later.
