- 1:35Speaker 2: And of course Straight Funk is with us too, and
- 1:39Speaker 2: we were just glad he got here. He's pretty locked
- 1:43Speaker 2: in and Bar two is celebrating Vanderbilt on the set,
- 1:49Speaker 2: so he went and grabbed the Vanderbilt helmet. This morning,
- 1:54Speaker 2: and it hasn't been on set in a while. I
- 1:56Speaker 2: guess last year maybe Vanderbilt and Diego won a big
- 1:59Speaker 2: game or two. I mean they won in games and.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Uh bar two.
- 2:02Speaker 2: On the way to the studio this morning, said Bartwo,
- 2:08Speaker 2: you go ahead, what'd you say about?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Well, talking about strength to schedule and the quality of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the conference is so forth and one of you know,
- 2:17Speaker 1: one of my immediate thoughts is how good is the
- 2:19Speaker 1: conference where the absolute dead last, historically worst recruiter wins
- 2:24Speaker 1: ten games? How good is the conference? Right? I mean,
- 2:28Speaker 1: you know Duke wins the ACC Oh ACC socks, right,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, Duke's in the top twenty five acy se socks.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Virginia is the top twenty five ACC socks. You know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: big big ten, Big twelve Arizona a team that recruits
- 2:43Speaker 1: in the fifties. Right, Oh, oh, the big the big ten,
- 2:45Speaker 1: so big twelve socks. Right right.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So Vanderbilt the way you framed it up, I'd not
- 2:51Speaker 2: thought about that. I mean, Vanderbilt went ten and two
- 2:54Speaker 2: last year. It goes to show you how weak the
- 2:55Speaker 2: conference was, exactly.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And not only were they ten and two, they were
- 3:01Speaker 1: the number one scoring efficiency offense in the entire conference.
- 3:07Speaker 1: How about that they were the number ones. Okay, because
- 3:11Speaker 1: and we've talked about this before many times, is one
- 3:14Speaker 1: of the one of the lines in the sand for
- 3:16Speaker 1: a national champion. Last twenty six national champions two thousand
- 3:20Speaker 1: through twenty twenty five. Okay, at the end of the
- 3:24Speaker 1: regular season, every single national champ at the end of
- 3:30Speaker 1: the regular season is top three in scoring efficiency on offense.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And or defense, and sometimes both top three okay, right,
- 3:40Speaker 2: not top five, not top seven, top three, I mean elite.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And the only thing Oklahoma was not top three, they
- 3:52Speaker 2: were the best defense. They were number four.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And Vanderbilt was top three in scoring efficiency offense last
- 3:59Speaker 1: year that number three, right behind number two Indiana. That
- 4:04Speaker 1: was your only national championship level offense or defense last
- 4:08Speaker 1: year was with the worst recruiter in the conference. But no,
- 4:12Speaker 1: we're gonna go sos, We're gonna go well. This conference
- 4:15Speaker 1: as tough as hell, Yet the worst recruiter put up
- 4:18Speaker 1: the best offense in the entire conference. I think we
- 4:21Speaker 1: need to rewire expectations and drop pre nil bs.
- 4:26Speaker 2: So the last I've said it on the show the
- 4:29Speaker 2: last two or three years, it's never been a better
- 4:31Speaker 2: time to be good because of the fractured, splintered, huge
- 4:35Speaker 2: transition of the portal. Exactly to your point. And an
- 4:39Speaker 2: example is the lowest rated recruiter in the Southeastern Conference
- 4:44Speaker 2: by a pretty good margin. The Vanderbilt Commodores went ten
- 4:49Speaker 2: to two last year and had the number one offense
- 4:52Speaker 2: scoring efficiency in the conference. Yeah, let's even over Lane,
- 4:57Speaker 2: even over Kirby, even over Hypel, even over or Shark, whatever,
- 5:02Speaker 2: right the boor Ryan Gripp. But you're looking at Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 2: I mean, it's the equivalent of Rutgers leading the Big
- 5:07Speaker 2: Ten in offense or defense.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I didn't thought about that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Let's put it in that layman storry. It's the equivalent
- 5:13Speaker 2: of Rutgers going ten and two in the Big Ten
- 5:17Speaker 2: and leading the Big ten in offense for.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Defense one pick one defense, right, pick one? I mean,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and then what do we think of the Big Ten?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Then well then we we take shots at its right, right?
- 5:31Speaker 1: I think it does speak to the volumes that the
- 5:35Speaker 1: depth of talent is eroded. There's no team today that's
- 5:39Speaker 1: as good as they were years ago. Right. You mentioned
- 5:42Speaker 1: the Georgia Bama teams, right, I mean these are the
- 5:45Speaker 1: old the Bama teams. Uh, smart you know, twenty one
- 5:50Speaker 1: twenty two right there on the edge. I mean, they
- 5:52Speaker 1: would kick the living but Jesus out of everybody in
- 5:56Speaker 1: the SEC. So so getting up there and talking about
- 5:59Speaker 1: what the CC used to be in relation to where
- 6:02Speaker 1: it is today, I think it's a poor conversation. I
- 6:06Speaker 1: think it's selection bias using what happened before to apply
- 6:11Speaker 1: to where it is today. And I think we can
- 6:14Speaker 1: use the same argument too to get rid of the
- 6:15Speaker 1: G six in the playoffs. Those Cincinnata, that Cincinnati team
- 6:19Speaker 1: that went twelve to zero is never coming back through
- 6:21Speaker 1: that door. They're never retaining that talent long enough to
- 6:25Speaker 1: be that good, you know, and even be competitive. So
- 6:30Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of dialogue that could be
- 6:32Speaker 1: had because of NIL over the last four or five
- 6:36Speaker 1: years and how it's changed the talent landscape and the
- 6:39Speaker 1: continuity landscape and really is erod at all levels of.
- 6:42Speaker 2: College football across the board. And Greg Sanky was he
- 6:49Speaker 2: just wasn't a happy camper. You know, you're in Tampa, Florida,
- 6:54Speaker 2: you're not paying for anything. You flew down on a
- 6:56Speaker 2: private jet. You make a million dollars a month. Life's
- 7:00Speaker 2: not bad. Probably went on a pretty cool vacation. At
- 7:04Speaker 2: some point this summer he was cranky SANKI.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Who's who? I'm trying to figure out who sold them
- 7:11Speaker 1: a bill of goods on going to nine? Yeah, okay,
- 7:14Speaker 1: that's right. Who sold the bill of goods? Somebody had
- 7:17Speaker 1: to because you and I on this show. I've been
- 7:19Speaker 1: on the show for over a decade, and how many
- 7:22Speaker 1: times have I said over the years, don't go to nine. Right?
- 7:28Speaker 1: The numbers backed it up. Don't go to nine, stay
- 7:32Speaker 1: at eight, make everybody come down to you. Eight is
- 7:34Speaker 1: way better. And as a fan, I would much rather
- 7:38Speaker 1: have an eight two and two schedule, which is eight
- 7:40Speaker 1: SEC games, two Power four non conference and two cupcake
- 7:46Speaker 1: and eterers whatever, right, right, I'd rather do it that way.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That would give me a good SOS too, and it'd
- 7:52Speaker 1: really defined who's good or not and I think I'd
- 7:53Speaker 1: be exciting. But we've said, don't go to nine. Don't
- 7:57Speaker 1: do it. It's a bad IDEA. Strength of schedule doesn't
- 7:59Speaker 1: mean anything. It doesn't define the quality of the team.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It's the last thing the playoff committee uses in terms
- 8:05Speaker 1: of segmenting teams. Don't do it. Don't do it, And
- 8:07Speaker 1: here we are. They did it. And I want to
- 8:11Speaker 1: know who talked everybody into it.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I got a couple of theories, so I would look
- 8:15Speaker 2: a here, so the presidents run the deal and they
- 8:18Speaker 2: make the boat on, you know, with other people involved.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I guess ESPN Disney sweetened the pot enough. I don't
- 8:27Speaker 1: know what that was.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Has it beneficially announced it was a ten million more team,
- 8:31Speaker 2: twelve million more team. I think post COVID athletic directors
- 8:36Speaker 2: and presidents got scared to death. And then with the portal,
- 8:39Speaker 2: they're trying to figure out how they can pay for
- 8:42Speaker 2: men's basketball, women's basketball, and college baseball whichever one's more
- 8:46Speaker 2: important on that campus, or two of the three. Right,
- 8:49Speaker 2: how long would just give some of the other sports,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you know, one hundred thousand and two whatever their budget is,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and softball and some others, And.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So I think that's yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I think they look at it and they're like, it
- 9:02Speaker 2: was a money grap It was it Disney and ESPN,
- 9:06Speaker 2: who now house all of the sec inventory, gave X
- 9:11Speaker 2: amount for the ninth for.
- 9:14Speaker 1: All none. Okay, so so it's a money grab. So
- 9:18Speaker 1: we want our cake and eat it too. Then absolutely,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I want the money, but I don't want the penalty
- 9:23Speaker 1: of going to nine games. That's what we're talking about, right,
- 9:28Speaker 1: And here we are, we're talking about the penalty of
- 9:30Speaker 1: nine games. And media day has been ensnared with SOS
- 9:35Speaker 1: talk the entire first day, right, you know, and we've
- 9:38Speaker 1: said a million times on this show. Everybody listening right
- 9:41Speaker 1: now knows that strength of schedule has absolutely nothing to
- 9:44Speaker 1: do with the quality of a team, zero correlation with
- 9:46Speaker 1: the quality of the team. And but here we are,
- 9:50Speaker 1: suddenly strength of schedule is the most important thing to
- 9:53Speaker 1: talk about. Last year, it wasn't, right. I mean, you
- 9:57Speaker 1: could you imagine that, you know, you Vanderbilt schedule, right?
- 10:02Speaker 1: Could you imagine if Old Miss was ten and two
- 10:04Speaker 1: last year, Vanderbilt was ten and two last year, and
- 10:06Speaker 1: Vanderbilt gets in because they got a better strength to schedule? Right,
- 10:10Speaker 1: Wait till that happens.
- 10:11Speaker 2: That would have burned some people up right, wait till
- 10:13Speaker 2: that happens or Vanderbilt. What about Vanderbilt getting in over
- 10:17Speaker 2: lsu A Big or Georgia because of what your strength
- 10:21Speaker 2: up schedule.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm doing that in airpla air quotes a strength to schedule,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know, And so I don't mind the way the
- 10:27Speaker 1: playoff committee has been using it, which is to separate
- 10:30Speaker 1: equal teams at the end, right, you have the equal
- 10:33Speaker 1: number of quality wins. You got equal number of top
- 10:35Speaker 1: twenty five wins. You know you're ten and two. You're
- 10:38Speaker 1: both ten and two. Who has a better strength to schedule?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Maybe they both get in, but one is the seventh
- 10:44Speaker 1: seed with a better SOS and one is the eight seed.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And then the other thing is, we don't nobody's talking
- 10:50Speaker 1: about how do you calculate strength to schedule. I could
- 10:53Speaker 1: sit here and show you a hundred different ways to
- 10:55Speaker 1: catch it, right, I see your nine thousand spreadsheets, and
- 10:59Speaker 1: then we could manipulate it. Right, You can't. One of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the easiest things that manipulate is the strength of schedule ranking,
- 11:04Speaker 1: because you could just start tweaking the dials until it
- 11:07Speaker 1: comes out the way.
- 11:07Speaker 2: You want it, right, which Danny Kanal has said yesterday
- 11:11Speaker 2: that the SEC doesn't play anybody, so, oh my god,
- 11:14Speaker 2: he made he made sure to jump on on the
- 11:16Speaker 2: bandwagon that evidently there's there's no more talent. Since we've
- 11:20Speaker 2: lost three national championship, well we hadn't played for them,
- 11:23Speaker 2: but since we haven't won a national championship in three years,
- 11:27Speaker 2: Canal's like, this league's garbage.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well you know something, how about they're all garbage.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Nobody plays anybody until this. Well that's your whole thing
- 11:35Speaker 1: you would like to And I get where you're going.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I mean, I'm trying to figure out if you're you know,
- 11:40Speaker 2: if you're totally right, who knows who is? But I
- 11:42Speaker 2: get what you're You want more teams to play each
- 11:46Speaker 2: other cross P four conference to try to get an
- 11:51Speaker 2: idea on who the best teams are.
- 11:53Speaker 1: By the time we go in to the college football player,
- 11:56Speaker 1: well right, right, and and as do you want to
- 11:58Speaker 1: see Oregon and Georgia or because even Oregon and Oklahoma
- 12:03Speaker 1: State and Georgia and BYU, I don't care, you know.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't like the Pac twelve blowing up
- 12:10Speaker 1: and going to the Big Ten. But I will say
- 12:12Speaker 1: as a fan going to Auton now and seeing Michigan
- 12:17Speaker 1: or Indiana kick our ass or Northwestern or all these
- 12:21Speaker 1: different ones, it's great. It really is. And I'm like, okay.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And then from a strength of schedule standpoint, a lot
- 12:28Speaker 1: of people try to compare college basketball to college football,
- 12:32Speaker 1: which is a bit silly because look at the non
- 12:35Speaker 1: conference schedule of basketball. Oh you got what twelve fourteen,
- 12:39Speaker 1: sixteen games before January? One huge crossover, right, we.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Can feed that Kansas and Kentucky play. We have the
- 12:48Speaker 2: SEC versus the Big twelve or Big ten. It's hell,
- 12:52Speaker 2: it's a turn you know, not a tournament, but it's
- 12:54Speaker 2: a whatever. Yeah, we have all kinds of all that stuff.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And so to me, to get the fewer games that
- 13:02Speaker 1: we play non conference the worst the strength of schedule
- 13:04Speaker 1: model gets. Right, think about our think about our data points, right,
- 13:08Speaker 1: if the if the SEC, I mean they just pulled
- 13:10Speaker 1: out of Arizona State, LSU, Washington, Tennessee, you know, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: which is so the that's going away?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, show they added a ninth conference game. Day
- 13:23Speaker 2: bar two bo bounds on the Out of Bounds show.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We don't want to leave out straight Funk. He's running
- 13:28Speaker 2: the show. You're listening to ESPN one oh five nine
- 13:31Speaker 2: the Zone. If you would like to ask day bar
- 13:34Speaker 2: two a question about your coach or OC or DC,
- 13:38Speaker 2: like a ranking, rating, grade, or your schedule or something
- 13:44Speaker 2: like that, head coach, all that hit us up on
- 13:47Speaker 2: the Dancing Rabbit Golf text line six oh one eight
- 13:52Speaker 2: eight five three seven seven six Where bar two's going
- 13:56Speaker 2: with LSU canceling the Arizona State Series and Georgia canceling
- 14:00Speaker 2: the Washington Series. Is it's it looks to be obvious
- 14:05Speaker 2: that the league is now going to pull back on
- 14:08Speaker 2: the mandated power for non conference game going forward, whatever
- 14:13Speaker 2: year that is, while going to none because they're not
- 14:18Speaker 2: going to.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Ever drop the night. Once you go to non conference games,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you're not going back now. I don't think so either,
- 14:26Speaker 1: you know, unless there is some sort of crazy right yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and unless there's some sort of everybody gets together and
- 14:31Speaker 1: drops to eight at the same time, right right. They
- 14:33Speaker 1: gotta they gotta have a you know, memorandum of understanding. Basically,
- 14:36Speaker 1: we're gonna all do this. Uh and it and it
- 14:39Speaker 1: sucks though that with with everybody at nine. Uh and
- 14:43Speaker 1: let's say that P four requirement non conference is dropped,
- 14:46Speaker 1: which which is fine, I understand it, to try to
- 14:48Speaker 1: be the Big ten doesn't have it right the way
- 14:50Speaker 1: they're trying to level the playing field. But what it's
- 14:52Speaker 1: also taking away is data points, which makes strength of
- 14:54Speaker 1: schedule impos I mean, it's impossible to come up with
- 14:58Speaker 1: a good one, it really really is.
- 15:00Speaker 2: But the first thing is get the g five teams
- 15:03Speaker 2: out of the College Football Playoff and then figure out
- 15:06Speaker 2: if we're going to go to sixteen, twenty or twenty four.
- 15:08Speaker 2: The SEC wants sixteen, the Big Ten wants twenty four,
- 15:13Speaker 2: And I don't know if that means they'll land at
- 15:15Speaker 2: twenty or who's gonna balk or how this is this
- 15:20Speaker 2: is gonna look going forward. But we go to non
- 15:22Speaker 2: conference games, which is not gonna be good for anybody
- 15:24Speaker 2: in the league. As far as losses, you said it average,
- 15:27Speaker 2: it'll average a half a loss to a lost stage team.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's going to impact the lesser talent injury
- 15:34Speaker 1: teams that year. So we're the most injured, we're the
- 15:37Speaker 1: most injury prone league. Is that right? Yes? You are?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Starts lost per snap, starts lost per snap. The Southeastern
- 15:47Speaker 2: Conference is number one, number one, okay, right, And.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Now that I haven't done the research on that last
- 15:55Speaker 1: couple of years, it may have shifted because number two
- 15:57Speaker 1: was the Big Ten, but then the Big Ten went
- 16:00Speaker 1: to nine conference games, okayuh, and so but it's always
- 16:05Speaker 1: been the SEC. SEC is number one in that ten
- 16:07Speaker 1: year research that I did, and when you look at
- 16:10Speaker 1: it though, they were also number one in average height
- 16:13Speaker 1: and weight on the field. Right, Okay, it's it's simple physics.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Sure is four s equals masstime acceleration. You got bigger
- 16:19Speaker 1: bodies moving just as fast as everybody else. You are
- 16:22Speaker 1: getting more injuries and and to compare it to the NFL,
- 16:26Speaker 1: this is this will show you the violence of the
- 16:28Speaker 1: NFL is with the With the SEC, you lose about
- 16:38Speaker 1: one start per player per season. In the NFL, you
- 16:45Speaker 1: lose three guys for the entire season the the equivalent.
- 16:51Speaker 1: So for for every one start lost in the SEC
- 16:54Speaker 1: due to injury, there is one guy that loses the
- 16:57Speaker 1: entire season in the NFL. The n fellas essentially just
- 17:01Speaker 1: it's it's like nine times more violent in terms of injury. Good.
- 17:05Speaker 1: But it's all the biggest, fastest guys. I get it.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I mean you can tell you know, we're we all
- 17:10Speaker 2: watch I Binge watched twelve hours of college football on Saturday.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Not that I know, but it's fun you see it.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But man, when you turn on the NFL on Sunday, good,
- 17:20Speaker 2: I mean the difference is night and day.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the first and then you look at yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 1: you look at that injury record too. Is it is
- 17:30Speaker 1: in lockstep with the size of the conference. It's the
- 17:33Speaker 1: SEC in Big ten, and then you then it drops
- 17:36Speaker 1: down to the ACC and then it drops down to well,
- 17:39Speaker 1: it was the PAC twelve, and then the Big twelve
- 17:42Speaker 1: was the least injured. And then you get into your
- 17:44Speaker 1: G sixes, which had three hundred percent less it was
- 17:48Speaker 1: like one in three at the injury rate. At the
- 17:50Speaker 1: G six you were you were three times more likely
- 17:54Speaker 1: to get injured and lose a start in the Power
- 17:57Speaker 1: four than the G six. How about that? Then it
- 18:00Speaker 1: steps up again to the NFL.
- 18:03Speaker 2: So hold on, all right, So we got to switch
- 18:06Speaker 2: gears because we've got five minutes here and I want
- 18:09Speaker 2: to do Lane versus John David Baker, Oh okay, all right,
- 18:12Speaker 2: Bo Bounds Dave bar two live in studio. You can
- 18:15Speaker 2: watch the show on YouTube search Out of Bound Sports
- 18:18Speaker 2: Show is brought to you by Blue Cross, Blue Shield
- 18:20Speaker 2: of Mississippi. It's good to be blue, the official healthcare
- 18:23Speaker 2: provider of the Out of Bounds Show. Want to say,
- 18:25Speaker 2: good morning, welcome into you. Straight Funk is with us too.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Hope you're doing well. Thanks for hanging out with us.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Bar two will be with us all morning and then
- 18:32Speaker 2: tomorrow Morning live from Dancing Rabbit Golf Club on the
- 18:35Speaker 2: property of Pearl River Resort. So we're gonna do a
- 18:39Speaker 2: Lane versus John David Baker over the next four or
- 18:43Speaker 2: five minutes. Here Lane was the offensive coordinator slash maybe
- 18:47Speaker 2: wiss in Oxford, and now John David Baker is the
- 18:53Speaker 2: OC in Oxford.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He had two years experience at East.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Carolina one good, one bad, kind of like Levey at
- 18:59Speaker 2: oklah Homa one good, one bad, and and at Missippi
- 19:04Speaker 2: State Leby's had one bad one Oh okay, Oh.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Oh wait a minute, Wait a minute, Wait a minute,
- 19:10Speaker 1: wait a minute. Well, let's not get over our skis.
- 19:12Speaker 1: John David Baker good and bad is not Jeff Leby
- 19:16Speaker 1: good and bad at Oklahoma. Jeff Lebby good and bad
- 19:19Speaker 1: at Oklahoma was awful and awesome. Okay, Okay. John David
- 19:23Speaker 1: Baker was really good and still pretty good. Okay, Okay. Now,
- 19:28Speaker 1: his his second year at East Carolina was a big
- 19:31Speaker 1: drop off, specifically in explosiveness. It was the least explosive
- 19:35Speaker 1: offense in the country last year. But we can take
- 19:39Speaker 1: a look at play calling traits and that's what that
- 19:43Speaker 1: Let's do that breakdown. We can break down run. Actually,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I can remember how I said, I got a bunch
- 19:47Speaker 1: of data. I have my fingertips. Now, yeah, I can
- 19:50Speaker 1: do this with anybody in the country since twenty ten. Okay,
- 19:53Speaker 1: so Kiffin and Baker in twenty twenty five, and we
- 19:59Speaker 1: can go any direction you want with this. But let's
- 20:04Speaker 1: start with overall tempo. Yeah, okay, bake, Baker's a little
- 20:07Speaker 1: bit quicker now. Now this does not take into this
- 20:11Speaker 1: takes into account garbage time. So Ole miss was awful
- 20:15Speaker 1: good last year. Right, Okay, they had a lot of
- 20:16Speaker 1: garbage time. Lane could slow it down in the fourth
- 20:19Speaker 1: quarter whenever he wanted to. Uh, ECU one is good.
- 20:23Speaker 1: They play They pretty played pretty up tempo. So Baker
- 20:25Speaker 1: last year was averaging a snap every twenty one seconds. Okay,
- 20:29Speaker 1: twenty one point two, Kiffin twenty three point two. Okay,
- 20:33Speaker 1: so a couple seconds faster, right, So, so, so I
- 20:37Speaker 1: expect compound that, I expect John David Baker to be
- 20:41Speaker 1: running a little bit faster offense, maybe not as quick
- 20:44Speaker 1: in year one, because there's got to be a comfortable,
- 20:47Speaker 1: comfortable level of sec play. Right, he's in East Carolina. Well,
- 20:52Speaker 1: you know it's it's tomato it's not tomato tomato. I
- 20:55Speaker 1: mean it is two totally different leagues. There snaps per game,
- 20:59Speaker 1: though averages out about the same. Baker is going to
- 21:02Speaker 1: push about four and a half five more snaps, so
- 21:06Speaker 1: basically an extra drive is going to go on Pete
- 21:09Speaker 1: Golden's defense. Okay, okay, uh so, so slightly faster, few
- 21:14Speaker 1: more snaps, but running the hurry up Temple's let's I'll
- 21:18Speaker 1: jump into tempo distribution. Okay, so we know John David
- 21:23Speaker 1: is going a little bit quicker than Kiffen, but what
- 21:27Speaker 1: is the tempo distribution now? John David Baker runs a
- 21:31Speaker 1: hurry up offense, snapping the ball with fifteen seconds or
- 21:36Speaker 1: more left on the clock. He's he does that about
- 21:39Speaker 1: thirty percent of the time last year thirty point one percent.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Kiffen twenty seven point two. So Baker this kind of
- 21:46Speaker 1: goal was locked in steps. He's he's running faster, He's
- 21:50Speaker 1: using the hurry up more. Okay. The big difference is
- 21:56Speaker 1: the fast fifteen to twenty second have have eroded on
- 22:02Speaker 1: the play clock. Kiffin snaps at about fourteen percent of
- 22:06Speaker 1: the time, Baker at twenty point three. So you are
- 22:08Speaker 1: going to see more than half of the snaps with
- 22:12Speaker 1: Baker versus about forty percent of the snaps with Lane.
- 22:16Speaker 1: They're snapping this with only twenty seconds or less eroded
- 22:19Speaker 1: on the playclock. Okay, so you've got more tempo there.
- 22:26Speaker 1: And then as as it goes down when you start
- 22:29Speaker 1: talking about grinding it out, this is where Kiffyn kind
- 22:32Speaker 1: of really slows it down. When he is ending a game.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Nearly thirty percent of his snaps were there was a
- 22:41Speaker 1: thirty seconds of roted from the play clock. Wow, over
- 22:44Speaker 1: thirty thirty percent. A lot of people think Lane is
- 22:46Speaker 1: really really up tempo. But nearly one out of every
- 22:48Speaker 1: three snaps he had last year the play clock had
- 22:51Speaker 1: run down thirty seconds already. How about that right where
- 22:55Speaker 1: John David Baker is only at twenty four percent. So
- 22:59Speaker 1: you got a lot more tempo, You've got a lot
- 23:01Speaker 1: more pace. Kiffin has more of a distribution of pace
- 23:08Speaker 1: of play.
- 23:09Speaker 2: He's got an incredible feel the game, which is really
- 23:13Speaker 2: hard to yeah, it is, but you look at Kiffin
- 23:17Speaker 2: and if you and you look at the running numbers
- 23:20Speaker 2: we talked about yesterday too.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You know the run
