- 0:53Speaker 1: only brass instruments, where the weather has taken a turn
- 0:57Speaker 1: for the better, and everybody it's been outside.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It's now hot here in the Savannah. The Super Bowl
- 1:07Speaker 2: is right around the corner, and the Winter Olympics have started.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Curling is back, baby, Curling is back. It's Sports Allegedly.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Welcome, Welcome, welcome, Thank you everyone for joining us for
- 1:21Speaker 4: this episode of Sports Allegedly. Thank you Sean for that
- 1:23Speaker 4: way over the long too fat and just boring introduction?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Are you calling me fatty?
- 1:28Speaker 4: Calling the introduction the whole You know, the introduction was
- 1:31Speaker 4: just fat.
- 1:32Speaker 5: It just come out very fast.
- 1:33Speaker 4: You tell me fat sham introduction shoe Never would I
- 1:36Speaker 4: fat shame, It was just fat.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Thank you for the fat boring.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You can you know what We're about to have a
- 1:44Speaker 3: curling segment. That's what we're gonna have, all.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Right, Thanks for joining us on the seventh day of February,
- 1:48Speaker 4: day before Super Curling.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Sixty I think it's sixty, yes.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Seahawks Patriots look that up with a suburb of San Francisco, Clara.
- 1:59Speaker 4: So we'll obviously talk a little, we'll talk a lot
- 2:02Speaker 4: about that will open. We'll talk about that, and then
- 2:04Speaker 4: we'll get a little bit into some coaching changes still,
- 2:07Speaker 4: some player moves that are possible.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Uh, Jim Schwartz not going back to the Browns.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So that's really gonna hurt.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that's in some notes. We'll talk about that a
- 2:16Speaker 5: little bit.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Let's talk about Let's talk about we talked about last week.
- 2:19Speaker 5: We didn't give a predictions. We talk about the super Bowl.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Obviously, we come off the NFC Championship, AFC Championship two
- 2:25Speaker 4: weeks ago. One game boring some snow Field Patriots.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That was going to be the most that was the
- 2:32Speaker 2: most entertaining game because you just like, who's gonna do something,
- 2:36Speaker 2: Who's gonna who, who's gonna make who's gonna get it going?
- 2:40Speaker 4: And that was the cool thing about Rabels. He just
- 2:42Speaker 4: said Apple keep Hutton. Yeah, they didn't go for it
- 2:44Speaker 4: on those fourth and fours, fourth and threes up nass
- 2:46Speaker 4: punt spunt, No, no reason to go for it because
- 2:49Speaker 4: Denver can't score their playing their backup quarterback. You know,
- 2:52Speaker 4: obviously they were they were behind the.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Also, it's Kenny's uh, it's Kenny's takes on relationships just
- 2:59Speaker 2: but no.
- 3:00Speaker 4: So the uhh, Well, but you don't lose, see they
- 3:04Speaker 4: wont so, But no, what I was saying is you
- 3:07Speaker 4: obviously it was a good game plan to do it
- 3:09Speaker 4: because of the weather. Instead it was there, and you know,
- 3:11Speaker 4: he had a first time we talked about the first
- 3:13Speaker 4: half was really good. That's when Denver should have capitalized
- 3:15Speaker 4: on stead of have got a coach fired.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And I'm like, dude, how can you fire the guy
- 3:19Speaker 2: for the job that he did with your backup?
- 3:21Speaker 4: Well, Peyton didn't take field goals in the first half
- 3:24Speaker 4: when the weather was nice either.
- 3:25Speaker 3: He's not gonna take the blame for it, of course not.
- 3:27Speaker 4: He fired Lombardy an ancient like a legend in the
- 3:31Speaker 4: family lineage.
- 3:34Speaker 3: I can't wait to see him end up on the Raiders.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I also think he also fired him so they could
- 3:38Speaker 4: promote Davis Webb, who people were talking about moving on
- 3:41Speaker 4: as well. So you promote him to you promote him
- 3:44Speaker 4: offensive coordinator. You can't go lateral, you know what I mean. So,
- 3:48Speaker 4: but if he was going to get play calling abilities,
- 3:50Speaker 4: he could have because Sean Payton still calls the play.
- 3:52Speaker 4: But anyway, enough about the fucking Broncos. Who cares. Let's
- 3:55Speaker 4: talk about how these teams got there. Let's first talk
- 3:58Speaker 4: about the Patriots.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Now.
- 4:00Speaker 4: The matchup in this Super Bowl obviously is intriguing because
- 4:04Speaker 4: obviously both have really good defenses as.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Two teams that were not picked to go there at
- 4:08Speaker 3: the beginning.
- 4:09Speaker 5: Definitely not.
- 4:10Speaker 4: And he had Sam Dartle coming in, Drake May second
- 4:14Speaker 4: year guy, but you had Vrabel coming in, changing the culture,
- 4:17Speaker 4: bringing in new players, and Diggs was a good player,
- 4:22Speaker 4: wasn't cancrous like we've seen or allegedly had heard at
- 4:25Speaker 4: other things.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, and that's and I told you that, that's that
- 4:29Speaker 2: lesson that you learned. That's that you know that Randy
- 4:31Speaker 2: Moss that I think Kishan might have had to learn
- 4:34Speaker 2: that lesson as well.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Did Owen's ever learn.
- 4:36Speaker 2: That lesson of just keeping his mouth shut and playing? Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 2: But then you know Randy Moss, you remember he went
- 4:42Speaker 2: through all of that.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:45Speaker 2: During the playoffs right now, we just looked at it.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Kish On kish On boot Booty Moody is uh is
- 4:51Speaker 2: the leading receiver for for the playoffs, not for the
- 4:58Speaker 2: not for the season at all, because we're just the
- 5:00Speaker 2: season leaders here, season leaders still. Stefan Diggs but uh,
- 5:04Speaker 2: I know Boot had Boot is the leader for the playoffs.
- 5:09Speaker 4: So they sam Donald obviously comes in on a two
- 5:13Speaker 4: year deal.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Minnesota probably should have kept him.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Obviously they started kicking theirselves in the ass.
- 5:17Speaker 4: But you know, they had only wanted to sign him
- 5:19Speaker 4: for a one year deal, and at Seattle kind of
- 5:21Speaker 4: give him the two year money type deal.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And there's there's a report that us he had the
- 5:26Speaker 2: sure report that Minnesota is looking for a veteran.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Talk about that too later when we talk about some
- 5:32Speaker 4: of the teams in free agency. But you know, three
- 5:34Speaker 4: for over four thousand yards Donald and then you know,
- 5:38Speaker 4: you you see Cup go over there, he leaves the Rams.
- 5:42Speaker 4: They trade dj DK metcalf. I thought that would be
- 5:45Speaker 4: a huge loss. I mean, we knew uh Smith the jig,
- 5:50Speaker 4: but was gonna be good. If you preview any of
- 5:53Speaker 4: our past podcast draft time, he was one of our
- 5:56Speaker 4: higher picks.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Thought he was going to be a for sure deal.
- 5:58Speaker 3: And he's been really good the last two seasons.
- 6:01Speaker 4: We just were kind of wondering, is the quarterback gonna
- 6:03Speaker 4: be good enough to make that happen with him? And
- 6:06Speaker 4: then you so, but now he's QB one wins offensive player,
- 6:09Speaker 4: of the year and I'm sorry. He's wide receiver number
- 6:14Speaker 4: one and they got a good quarterback to throw to him.
- 6:17Speaker 4: So no, I thought Seattle, it's just the whole team,
- 6:22Speaker 4: very young, good draft picks. You know, obviously their their
- 6:25Speaker 4: organization has run willly really well.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Willie and you.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Know, the McDonald coaches, you can see what Baltimore was
- 6:34Speaker 4: kind of missing.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Don't call him the McDonald coach.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's Mike McDonald's Michael McDonald's, but you know.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You could kind of see what Baltimore has been missing
- 6:44Speaker 4: since he left as far as the play calling. But
- 6:47Speaker 4: they got good young players on defense. Sandorn has come around.
- 6:50Speaker 4: You know, we knew Kenneth Walker's has always been good.
- 6:52Speaker 2: He was when he was on when he was in Baltimore.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I thought it was the talent. I really thought it
- 6:59Speaker 2: was the talent. Talent, And now you see him in
- 7:02Speaker 2: Seattle and what he's done and what Baltimore has regressed
- 7:05Speaker 2: too without him there. Nine times out of ten.
- 7:13Speaker 3: It is just the talent that that makes you look good.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Oh for sure, that that whole thing. He was the
- 7:20Speaker 3: one that made the talent.
- 7:20Speaker 4: But I mean, I think they're pretty talented, especially youth wise,
- 7:24Speaker 4: on Seattle as well. But you know, you look at DeMarcus,
- 7:29Speaker 4: who's the guy from Dallas. Why can I not think
- 7:31Speaker 4: of his name?
- 7:31Speaker 5: Sean Lawrence.
- 7:32Speaker 4: He's had a hell of a year this year, and
- 7:34Speaker 4: what a huge pickup from them. When Dallas wasn't gonna
- 7:36Speaker 4: pay him the money, they forked out a craft ton
- 7:39Speaker 4: of money for him phill And it kind of surprised me.
- 7:42Speaker 3: There's an O line coach out there that we that,
- 7:44Speaker 3: oh you should try to get.
- 7:46Speaker 5: We'll talk about him on our notes. Did you talk
- 7:47Speaker 5: about super Bowl? We're talking about this?
- 7:49Speaker 4: I don't.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I've got adah. I see that.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I see that.
- 7:52Speaker 4: So as far as that goes Seattle, heck of a year.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Wanted to talk about, you know, their schedule if you could?
- 8:00Speaker 5: There was, Oh, there was. Let me give you one, two, three, four.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, forty
- 8:06Speaker 4: fifty sixteen teams that played schedules this year above five hundred.
- 8:12Speaker 4: That giant you know, because I gotta ask you, I
- 8:14Speaker 4: gotta I got a question for you to see if
- 8:16Speaker 4: you can get there was there was what did I say?
- 8:18Speaker 5: Fifteen? Okay, fifteen teams.
- 8:20Speaker 4: That played schedules of five hundred or better. Yeah, okay,
- 8:23Speaker 4: and Seattle. If you go cruise up there, they're setting about.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Battle in New England, they're about in the middle.
- 8:30Speaker 4: We'll get to New England a minute. They had the
- 8:31Speaker 4: easiest schedule of the whole of every team in the NFL.
- 8:35Speaker 4: But there was only four teams that played teams over
- 8:38Speaker 4: five hundred records that had winning records.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Can you name them?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Four teams have played them. I know the Bears were one.
- 8:44Speaker 5: No, Bears had the fourth easiest schedule.
- 8:46Speaker 3: What are you looking at.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I'm talking about strength of schedule.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, isn't the hardest at the top?
- 8:50Speaker 4: No, that's the easiest. You see that point thirty nine
- 8:53Speaker 4: win percentage the hard game. The hard ones are down here.
- 8:58Speaker 4: So four teams had winning records. The Bucks were so close.
- 9:02Speaker 3: The Carolina should have been. No, they're playing an easy.
- 9:08Speaker 4: They did not have a winging record. They're right nine,
- 9:11Speaker 4: but they did play an over five hundred schedule. Quit
- 9:13Speaker 4: googling it.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I'm just looking at the team. I'm not googling it.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I need to go look at I don't want to
- 9:19Speaker 2: leave that screen right there, so I need to go
- 9:21Speaker 2: look And I'm trying to remember I had the bills played.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I'm trying to remember who went through what we look
- 9:30Speaker 3: at the standards.
- 9:31Speaker 5: I will give you no no, hold on, I will
- 9:33Speaker 5: shut up. Hold on, I'll give you a hint. There's
- 9:37Speaker 5: three nf Sittsburgh, Yeah, Pittsburgh's one.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Yes, Jacksonville No, Jacksonville, Denver.
- 9:44Speaker 4: No, Denver had the second easy schedule.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Three Rams, yes, and Niners. That so that's my NFC. Oh,
- 10:00Speaker 3: you have a third one after Seattle.
- 10:02Speaker 5: No, Seattle went in there.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Okay, So the Rams the Niners?
- 10:07Speaker 4: Hm, oh shit, I missed another one. No, there's another
- 10:12Speaker 4: one Bay. I forgot they had a winning record.
- 10:16Speaker 3: It can't be Green Bay.
- 10:17Speaker 5: No, you have the Rams, and you've got the Rams
- 10:21Speaker 5: and Niners.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Yes, and you got one more NFC.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But yeah, it's gotta be Philly. I can't be any
- 10:31Speaker 2: one of these is the Vikings. The Vikings had one
- 10:35Speaker 2: of the toughest schedules.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Okay, now a f C. You had two winning records.
- 10:39Speaker 3: There what I got Pittsburgh, Oh, I'm sorry.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Forty nine ers were not included in that. They were
- 10:44Speaker 4: right on the fringe. They were zero point four nine eights,
- 10:46Speaker 4: so stretched them. It was the Vikings snuck in under them.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Okay, uh, Chargers, No, that's weird.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Two a FC teams Kent, Houston, Oh, you got one, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
- 11:03Speaker 4: No, it's a playoff team that has if they had
- 11:05Speaker 4: a quarterback that played with the fuck they'd been really
- 11:07Speaker 4: good this year, and they were really good this year.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Buffalo.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Now you were close your little markers right there on it.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Jacksonville, Texans, Houston.
- 11:15Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't hear that anyway, So there you guys.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Try didn't say Texans again.
- 11:19Speaker 5: But anyway, long story short.
- 11:21Speaker 4: If you look at all the long story long on that,
- 11:22Speaker 4: but if you slick at all the other teams that
- 11:24Speaker 4: had teams that played over five hundred teams, you had
- 11:27Speaker 4: records eight nine five and twelve six and eleven six
- 11:30Speaker 4: and eleven four and thirteen, eight nine three and fourteen,
- 11:34Speaker 4: eight nine three and fourteen three and fourteen three and fourteen.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Those were the team records that played the above.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Now, let's talk about the five teams that played the
- 11:41Speaker 4: easiest schedule. You going from let's go six Bills had
- 11:46Speaker 4: an easy one, then the Chargers.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Then the Bills get an easy one.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Well, you got the Jets, I mean, and then you've
- 11:51Speaker 5: got the Bears.
- 11:53Speaker 3: What did the Bears get an easy one?
- 11:55Speaker 5: Cowboys?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Didn't they come off a schedule where two of those
- 11:58Speaker 2: teams had just made the playoffs.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I'm just talking about how the final strength the schedules formed.
- 12:04Speaker 4: But anyway, but that was my point. I wanted to
- 12:06Speaker 4: get to the New England Patriots. Well, I think they've
- 12:08Speaker 4: had a miraculous season. Drake may really well finished second
- 12:11Speaker 4: m v p.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Uh I sent you. What was the thing I sent you?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Coach fired, coach fired, NFC.
- 12:17Speaker 2: A, f C South is NFC South, NFC South coach,
- 12:22Speaker 2: coach fired, coach fight NFC South, coach fired, NFC South,
- 12:26Speaker 2: NFC South.
- 12:28Speaker 5: So they the.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Patriots open with a Raiders loss, you remember that? Uh?
- 12:34Speaker 4: The then yes, then we go on. Then we go
- 12:38Speaker 4: on to see them beat the Patriots. They lost to
- 12:40Speaker 4: the Steelers. Then they beat the Panthers. They killed them,
- 12:43Speaker 4: which is a good win. They beat the Bills by three,
- 12:45Speaker 4: beat the Saints, Titans, they beat they beat the Browns,
- 12:50Speaker 4: they beat the Falcons. Oh yeah, they beat the Bucks.
- 12:53Speaker 4: They beat the Jets a cupcake, They beat the Bengals
- 12:56Speaker 4: without obviously, Burrow beat the John Bills beat them again, and.
- 13:02Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. Look at the look at look at.
- 13:04Speaker 5: The Bills beat them for the first time. They did go.
- 13:09Speaker 3: AFC South coach fire coach, fire, coach fight.
- 13:13Speaker 5: But then you got the Jets and the Dolphins again.
- 13:14Speaker 4: So you know, great record, best turn around there a
- 13:17Speaker 4: little early, they probably should have been maybe looking at
- 13:20Speaker 4: Super Bowl run next year, a year year after with more.
- 13:24Speaker 4: But hey, it's been a great run. I just don't
- 13:26Speaker 4: think that I do.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I do that every years.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I don't look at a first year coach coming into
- 13:31Speaker 2: a team and saying, Okay, we're turning this around.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Well, you're gonna get you're gonna get a you're gonna
- 13:35Speaker 4: get a little bit of a bump.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I will say.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I will say that Ben Johnson coming into the Bears,
- 13:39Speaker 2: he had all the pieces in place already.
- 13:41Speaker 3: The worry was on the defense. Yes, I mean you
- 13:44Speaker 3: already had that offense built and built that.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah for sure, for sure, And you just you were
- 13:49Speaker 2: looking at your question was your defense and your quarterback?
- 13:52Speaker 7: You're talking about who the Bears? Oh no, no, no, you
- 13:55Speaker 7: needed they they built it. No, I said, the offense
- 13:58Speaker 7: was already built, not the offensive line. I think that
- 14:00Speaker 7: was the hugest the interior offensive.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Line, and because he got he got, you got two
- 14:06Speaker 6: guards him the award something about interior players, yeah or something.
- 14:10Speaker 4: They have a kind of a goofy name for it,
- 14:13Speaker 4: But no, I thought that's how they built well. But
- 14:17Speaker 4: you got a better play caller, a guy that had
- 14:19Speaker 4: some of defense.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Is the top turnover defense in the league.
- 14:22Speaker 4: You had the enemy there as your running back coordinator,
- 14:25Speaker 4: which you could tell it was a huge difference. They
- 14:26Speaker 4: got the kid from Rutgers in.
- 14:28Speaker 5: A late modeling Lake late pick and he turned out
- 14:32Speaker 5: to be good.
- 14:32Speaker 4: If that offensive line made a huge difference, and Kayleb
- 14:35Speaker 4: Williams looked better.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Well, Kayleb Williams not running around like a jackass like
- 14:40Speaker 2: justin Fields also makes your offensive line look better because
- 14:44Speaker 2: they can hold those blocks and they know where their
- 14:46Speaker 2: quarterback is instead the quarterback running over here, over here,
- 14:50Speaker 2: over here, over here, and them ended up with holding
- 14:53Speaker 2: calls because they don't know where the quarterback is. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 2: so your metrics definitely improved. And you all what happened
- 15:00Speaker 2: when that quarterback ended up on the Jets and how
- 15:04Speaker 2: far that team fell down and Aaron Glenn blaming everybody,
- 15:09Speaker 2: and I don't even everything I'm looking at. Are they
- 15:11Speaker 2: even taking a quarterback in the first round?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Who the Jets?
- 15:16Speaker 4: Well, i mean I've told them to trade up they've got,
- 15:22Speaker 4: but everybody's saying that doses for sure to the Raiders.
- 15:24Speaker 2: So but I mean, if you look at but if
- 15:26Speaker 2: you look at the two teams went in the Super Bowl,
- 15:29Speaker 2: out of those top out of the top five, who's
- 15:32Speaker 2: out of place in that that.
- 15:34Speaker 3: You wouldn't have expected to even forty? No, the top five?
- 15:39Speaker 4: Oh, Jacksonville. Yeah, well the Patriots too, I mean, because
- 15:44Speaker 4: it was a that's quite a turnaround.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I'm just saying in this Yeah, but Rabell, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 3: Verbel always.
- 15:49Speaker 5: Has a sure And you got the Broncos, which you know.
- 15:53Speaker 3: We knew that they would better, but we also knew
- 15:56Speaker 3: they were going to do.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Chargers had multiple injuries in their offensive line. Kansas City
- 16:00Speaker 4: went to ship. Is the Broncos a team that could
- 16:03Speaker 4: potentially not make the playoffs next year?
- 16:05Speaker 5: Would you met Benny on them? That probably a good
- 16:07Speaker 5: prop bet?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Well was there to help?
- 16:12Speaker 5: Yes, without that could be it. That's it.
- 16:15Speaker 4: So no Lombardy and it's toasts and it's toast. But
- 16:18Speaker 4: then you look at the forty nine ers as well.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I mean they were only plus sixty six diff rigil
- 16:22Speaker 4: because they had some problems defense on defense, like just injury,
- 16:26Speaker 4: just like the Bears did as well.
- 16:28Speaker 3: And they poked up for he Morris as a decordinator.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was I mean solid is good
- 16:33Speaker 4: enough too. I mean he's worked there.
- 16:35Speaker 3: That was fine.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I think that was more of an injury type thing too, though.
- 16:40Speaker 4: M think so possible.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Think they end up they might pointing to the Bill,
- 16:47Speaker 3: the Bills, they might make the playoffs.
- 16:48Speaker 4: But I think that was a whole horrible just everything
- 16:52Speaker 4: about that.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Okay.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Uh, getting back to the Super.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Bowl, Seahawks had the hardest walk to get there. We
- 16:58Speaker 2: all know that they had to go through San Francisco twice.
- 17:02Speaker 3: They had to get through the Reds. If you look
- 17:06Speaker 3: at the one they only won thirteen to three on them,
- 17:08Speaker 3: they like.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Rested half the team.
- 17:10Speaker 3: They weren't.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Yes, they did, they beat them, they didn't try hard.
- 17:14Speaker 4: I know, I'm kidding. That was for the division championship.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I can get it. I get it.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It's just it's rock party. It wasn't rock party.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Well, you know, Okay, so you want to talk about
- 17:29Speaker 2: Seahawks open the open the season with the loss to
- 17:32Speaker 2: San Francisco, m then they beat up Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Arizona,
- 17:40Speaker 2: and then they lose to Tampa. And then you beat
- 17:43Speaker 2: Jacksonville and Houston, Washington and Arizona and two of those
- 17:48Speaker 2: teams were in the playoffs. On the other side, you
- 17:51Speaker 2: lose to the Rams. Then you go Tennessee, Minnesota, Atlanta,
- 17:55Speaker 2: Indianapolis without Danny Dimes.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And Carolina. That's not If it weren't for.
- 18:05Speaker 2: The Niners and the Rams and that Houston Jacksonville doing
- 18:10Speaker 2: better in the season and Pittsburgh somehow having a winning record,
- 18:16Speaker 2: that is a cake schedule right there.
- 18:20Speaker 4: No, I mean it was, it was it was down
- 18:22Speaker 4: the line. They were in the forest. I mean they
- 18:24Speaker 4: we wasn't as easy as.
- 18:27Speaker 2: What I'm saying is with San Francisco and the Rams
- 18:30Speaker 2: and then having to play Jacksonville Houston, who ended up
- 18:33Speaker 2: becoming very good teams at this season.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Well yeah, I mean that's two great wins right there.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And like I said, Pittsburgh ended up with a winning
- 18:41Speaker 2: record again split split.
- 18:43Speaker 5: With the Rams.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Obviously, look at that lineer Tennessee, Minnesota, Atlanta, Indy.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Well, they played the NSC South, Who's average. Obviously we
- 18:50Speaker 4: know that Carolina snuck in with an eight to nine record.
- 18:53Speaker 4: All three teams are tied for first place. They just
- 18:55Speaker 4: happened to win some sort of cute little records.
- 18:58Speaker 3: But the.
- 19:03Speaker 5: As far as the I was looking, I was trying
- 19:04Speaker 5: to look for that, I.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Will say that India, uh not Indy.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Uh.
- 19:08Speaker 2: New England did have the easier of the two. Hum,
- 19:12Speaker 2: the easier schedule of the.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Two New England not Indy.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I ended up saying that I started with Indy.
- 19:19Speaker 5: I don't know for sure, that's what I was saying that.
- 19:21Speaker 4: That's that's why concerns me a little bit about trying
- 19:24Speaker 4: to pick them, because they have kind of skated through there, and.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Everybody's pointed that out throughout the season. Yes, like it
- 19:32Speaker 2: has been pointed out throughout the season that New England
- 19:34Speaker 2: has had a very easy schedule.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Now, now obviously this is Fox.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Now next season, what do you what do you think
- 19:44Speaker 3: they're gonna get? Right now?
- 19:48Speaker 2: New England says they're gonna have to end up playing Denver,
- 19:52Speaker 2: because that always happens. The championship teams always end up
- 19:56Speaker 2: playing each other generally. I don't know what the rest
- 20:02Speaker 2: of their schedule on all those they're the North, right,
- 20:06Speaker 2: but everybody, I can't.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I know, Kenny's taking Seattle. I'm taking Seattle. I know.
- 20:11Speaker 3: This is a rematch of two super Bowls one super Bowl?
- 20:17Speaker 3: How many times have they played each other?
- 20:18Speaker 4: So next year, as far as the a f C East,
- 20:21Speaker 4: they will face the teams in the a f C West,
- 20:25Speaker 4: which would be Denver and the NFC North.
- 20:29Speaker 8: Oh god, really, well, well, ladies, not easy, not easy
- 20:39Speaker 8: at all, not easy at all, especially with the fact that.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Who plays the South NFC South then to go to
- 20:46Speaker 4: the Super Bowl.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing, did did not?
- 20:50Speaker 2: Did everybody in the NFC North all have winning records?
- 20:56Speaker 3: Was it that everybody was nine and eight? Nine and seven?
- 21:00Speaker 5: Minnesota was last? Yes, but yes, but no, Minnesota.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Was last, Detroit was last eight.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Minnesota, Minnesota was nine and eight above them, and
- 21:11Speaker 2: uh oh.
- 21:13Speaker 4: And the AFC West teams will also play the NFC
- 21:16Speaker 4: West Broncos.
- 21:21Speaker 5: I'm gonna pick them. That'll be my bold prediction.
- 21:24Speaker 4: No playoff for the Broncos next year.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I guess said. You know, there's a well off.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Yeah, there is a falloff, because that's gonna be some
- 21:31Speaker 4: tough scheduling. Then they have some cross kind of cross
- 21:34Speaker 4: conference games against.
- 21:36Speaker 3: The sad out of ruders, nobody like you. This is
- 21:39Speaker 3: what we want, this is what daddy seventy nine.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Let's see, all right, any anything else on anything else?
- 21:48Speaker 3: Well, I'm we're gonna pick scores. Should I you shouldn't.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Probably you know it.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I've already told you. And does Jeff send it.
- 21:56Speaker 5: To you, No, He'll send it to me tomorrow.
- 21:59Speaker 4: So Shawn's in a friendly wager of popsickles and candy
- 22:03Speaker 4: bars for the winner.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I want those damn kids, but actually know what I
- 22:07Speaker 2: want the injured show so because he wants to be
- 22:09Speaker 2: the king of.
- 22:10Speaker 4: That, so he is picking. He's picking Seattle to win.
- 22:15Speaker 4: I can say that, Yeah, we can say that. And
- 22:18Speaker 4: I'm also picking Saddle. I'm gonna go thirty one twenty four.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I'm taking the over on this. I think generally you
- 22:23Speaker 4: watch a Super Bowl game, you tend to see some
- 22:27Speaker 4: of these games start out really slow. And I don't
- 22:31Speaker 4: think this is going to be it. I think these
- 22:33Speaker 4: two teams are gonna be I think I think you.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Seen the way you've seen the way he's been playing
- 22:39Speaker 3: at the beginning of every.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Week for a punt return or a kickoff return. Wait
- 22:42Speaker 5: for us.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I still do not understand why New Orleans got rid
- 22:46Speaker 2: of Shahied. I know they have a Lave, but Shaheed
- 22:51Speaker 2: was your number two guy. Shaheed was your guy when
- 22:54Speaker 2: Ala because Lave was injured a lot, Yes.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And I do not understand why they let him go.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I don't remember even remember what they They didn't even
- 23:01Speaker 2: get like something spectacular out of it for that trade.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Did they, you know, like a second round or a
- 23:07Speaker 3: third round?
- 23:08Speaker 2: Trade a guy, don't I don't remember trade a guy
- 23:10Speaker 2: in a fourth round, fifth And now look at what
- 23:13Speaker 2: he's done.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Look at that real quick. Okay, there's the Seahawks the
- 23:17Speaker 3: first time in XL smike.
- 23:25Speaker 4: They got a center to the Seahawks for a twenty
- 23:29Speaker 4: twenty sixth, fourth and fifth round pick.
- 23:31Speaker 3: That's all it is. Yeah, but that's all it is.
- 23:34Speaker 2: That's not he should have been a second, a second,
- 23:37Speaker 2: a third rounder, a second at least two seconds.
- 23:43Speaker 5: But his contract was expiring.
- 23:45Speaker 3: He wasn't a sign, I know.
- 23:48Speaker 4: So I thought that that's the hell of a trade. Okay,
- 23:51Speaker 4: that is a trade that wins for both.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Okay, well, actually I think Seattle won better, especially.
- 23:56Speaker 4: In this No, I mean you won't know that until
- 23:58Speaker 4: we see who their third are, their fourth and fifth
- 24:00Speaker 4: round pick is. That could be a future Hall of Famer.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Okay, so here is super Bowl forty nine.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Okay, it was the.
- 24:08Speaker 2: First time the Patriots and Seahawks met. Correct, Yes, that
- 24:12Speaker 2: was twenty eight twenty.
- 24:13Speaker 5: Four Malays Butler interception.
- 24:16Speaker 3: No, I believe that was the venitary kick, was it not?
- 24:19Speaker 4: Now? I think that was the Malcolm Butler because they
- 24:23Speaker 4: only met once, didn't I.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Thought they met before?
- 24:25Speaker 4: Got them too?
- 24:28Speaker 3: Not them too? No, you're right, that was it? Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 3: that was the Milcolm Butler. I could have swore that was.
- 24:34Speaker 5: The one where Russell Wilson should have ran the ball.
- 24:36Speaker 4: They should No?
- 24:37Speaker 2: No, yeah, uh Russell Wilson, Marshall Lusham, Yeah yeah, he
- 24:42Speaker 2: was like it was right there.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, the one yard line. We have a weird I
- 24:46Speaker 4: was at the bar watching that game. Crazy.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I think everybody the whole bar game.
- 24:50Speaker 4: No, the whole bar just erupted because it seemed like
- 24:53Speaker 4: no one wanted Seattle to win for some reason.
- 24:57Speaker 3: No, nobody want where I was that nobody wanted to.
- 25:00Speaker 5: And but you think about it, wasn't that how many?
- 25:03Speaker 5: What was that?
- 25:04Speaker 4: Was that kind of the Patriots come back to the
- 25:06Speaker 4: Super Bowls? Because didn't they go for a while without
- 25:09Speaker 4: being in one? They lost that one because and then
- 25:14Speaker 4: they keep going up because they.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Because because the the Ravens Niners Super Bowl. I was
- 25:19Speaker 3: in Montgomery watching that one. Seattle think I was in
- 25:23Speaker 3: Denver watching this well.
- 25:24Speaker 4: And Seattle had won the year before, so it'd have
- 25:26Speaker 4: been back to back, you know. That was another thing
- 25:29Speaker 4: that people were rooting for the Patriots again because it
- 25:31Speaker 4: had been a while since they.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Won, right, so the Patriots had gotten started back in
- 25:39Speaker 3: was it two thousand?
- 25:40Speaker 4: Well, now that that ninety six? That was the Bill
- 25:44Speaker 4: Bill Parcells. No, no, no, no, no for the Patriots, that's
- 25:50Speaker 4: when they come back, right yeah.
- 25:52Speaker 3: That was their first one back since eighty five.
- 25:55Speaker 4: And then Belichick takes over and then they get back
- 25:58Speaker 4: in there. They back in there and they beat the
- 26:01Speaker 4: Rams and that was great because I hated the Rams.
- 26:06Speaker 3: You just hated Kurt Russell.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Kurt No, I like Kurt Warner.
- 26:09Speaker 4: They just that was a year they beat the the
- 26:13Speaker 4: Buccaneers in the NFC Championship like eleven to six or something.
- 26:17Speaker 4: We had the best defensive League, and we held them
- 26:19Speaker 4: to like eleven or thirteen points and Sean King could
- 26:22Speaker 4: not scorch.
- 26:23Speaker 3: And then and then we.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Brought well, we brought, we brought back the next year,
- 26:27Speaker 2: the two thousand and two was the Cheater Bowl whatever,
- 26:30Speaker 2: and then New England went on a tear for two.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Uh settle loses to Pittsburgh because that was Tomlin's only win.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and I believe that was Mike Holmgren, Matt Hasselback.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I'm almost possible. And then right Levy's year.
- 26:46Speaker 2: With Doungee Dungee versus Lovey, Yeah, and I thought that,
- 26:50Speaker 2: said Cornette, I was like, I mean, it.
- 26:54Speaker 5: Does was that Dungee?
- 26:56Speaker 3: Did he coach? That was Dungee?
- 26:57Speaker 2: That was that was the first ever two black coaches
- 27:00Speaker 2: coaching against each in the Super Bowl.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And that's you know, right after that was when.
- 27:06Speaker 2: The Jay Cutler shit started and murdered Lovey's career, murdered
- 27:10Speaker 2: everybody that.
- 27:11Speaker 4: I was so and you had then you had the craziness.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Of the Tom Tom Coughlin, Yes.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Of the Giants beating them, And that wasn't the craziest one.
- 27:24Speaker 4: It was the one that the Giants beat them later
- 27:27Speaker 4: and I believe that was in yeah, twenty eleven, and
- 27:30Speaker 4: I believe that was the year that the Patriots were undefeated, correct,
- 27:33Speaker 4: And that could have been the year they broke the record.
- 27:36Speaker 4: That was the only game they lost was the Super
- 27:37Speaker 4: Bowl and the Giants and you know he killed you know,
- 27:42Speaker 4: and it wasn't because of a manning. The Giants always
- 27:46Speaker 4: had really badass defenses. And Tom Coughlin does not get
- 27:49Speaker 4: enough credit for being a coach. And look what he
- 27:52Speaker 4: did with Jacksonville as an early team, took them to
- 27:55Speaker 4: the NFC Championship early in his career as well.
- 27:59Speaker 3: He's doing the GM ship now.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Isn't I think?
- 28:02Speaker 1: So?
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, I mean I know you still.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Obviously the Patriots was a comeback a century when you
- 28:11Speaker 4: got the the the Eagles that that beat the Patriots.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Then Patriots come back beat the Rams and one of
- 28:16Speaker 4: the most boring Super Bowls, horribly boring, it was horrible, horrible.
- 28:21Speaker 5: And then you got the Chiefs beating Uh this is
- 28:24Speaker 5: this is.
- 28:24Speaker 2: The start of the Chiefs. Yes, because that was the
- 28:27Speaker 2: twenty eighteen was the final year?
- 28:28Speaker 5: Was that?
- 28:29Speaker 4: No?
- 28:29Speaker 5: Who was the forty nine ers quarterback in that?
- 28:32Speaker 3: Was it?
- 28:32Speaker 5: Garoppolo?
- 28:34Speaker 4: Yes?
- 28:34Speaker 5: So Chiefs beat them pretty handily. That was a boring game.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Buccaneers killed the Chiefs because that defense was out of
- 28:41Speaker 4: this world.
- 28:42Speaker 5: Rams beat the Bengals.
- 28:43Speaker 3: That was a really good that we watched that here.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Yes, Chiefs Eagles, that was watched out here. And then
- 28:48Speaker 5: obviously that.
- 28:49Speaker 4: That one, that Chiefs San Francisco game really felt like
- 28:53Speaker 4: it was Chiefs all the way.
- 28:54Speaker 5: You never really thought you didn't know that the.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Sevance of that Brock party was keeping them in the
- 28:58Speaker 3: damn game, did you?
- 28:59Speaker 4: Well, I mean two points in overtime?
- 29:01Speaker 2: Wow, cool, it doesn't matter, but they were still Kansas
- 29:04Speaker 2: City only scored twenty five.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It's because their defense of San Francisco kept him in
- 29:08Speaker 4: the game thirty Okay, then what about Kansas City?
- 29:11Speaker 2: What's the excuse they only had twenty two points going
- 29:13Speaker 2: into overtime?
- 29:14Speaker 4: Because San Francisco's defense kept him in the game, is
- 29:16Speaker 4: what I'm saying.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Well, what about the offense over there?
- 29:19Speaker 2: For?
- 29:19Speaker 3: What was Kansas City's excuse? What kept them in the game?
- 29:22Speaker 5: Nothing?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Well, I mean they've always had a good defense. I mean,
- 29:26Speaker 4: you have to give them credit for the defense, but
- 29:28Speaker 4: they did got them.
- 29:31Speaker 5: They gave up to thirty five the years.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I pretty got them to the to the time.
- 29:34Speaker 5: And then the Super Bowl last Uh.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Everybody cheered except a lot of people. Yes I for
- 29:41Speaker 3: the Eagles, Yes, yes, all.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Right, what was last year's Remind me I'm already forgot
- 29:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's that was last year. It's okay, I
- 29:52Speaker 4: was looking at the date. Was the season was wrong?
- 29:54Speaker 4: There was a got him? Boy have the Eagles falling?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, now that happens since the I tend to have
- 30:00Speaker 2: a fall off and we can talk about that there
- 30:03Speaker 2: because that's what happens.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Stalin a long time offensive line coached. Yeah, I mean
- 30:11Speaker 4: it's gonna be good. I think I plan on being
- 30:13Speaker 4: a really good game. I just I think it's gonna
- 30:14Speaker 4: be one of the better games of the year that
- 30:16Speaker 4: we've watched because I think both teams on defense are
- 30:19Speaker 4: really matched up, but they give up those plays I
- 30:22Speaker 4: was talking about Seattle. I think that if you want
- 30:24Speaker 4: to look at something, look at Rimonde Stevenson out of
- 30:27Speaker 4: the backfield having a good game as far as some catches.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Same with Kenneth Walker. Watch the running backs in the
- 30:32Speaker 4: receiving type area because yeah, because well they're gonna give
- 30:35Speaker 4: They're going They're going to be. You know, Diggs is
- 30:38Speaker 4: going to be so heavy covered. Uh, Smith, the jig
- 30:42Speaker 4: is going to be so heavy covered. They're still gonna
- 30:43Speaker 4: and Rashid, They're still going to be focusing on this one.
- 30:45Speaker 3: The problem. I was watching, but.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Is another guy to watch.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I was watching and Smith and they were like, this
- 30:56Speaker 2: is how defenses are losing him. This guy is just
- 30:59Speaker 2: running this route and you're thinking that he's staying on
- 31:01Speaker 2: this route, and all of a sudden, he just stops
- 31:03Speaker 2: and turns around and he's just sitting in this open
- 31:07Speaker 2: space because the cornerback has just kept going.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Well, I think that's that's a good thing that you know.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Sam Darnold's he's we could call him a veteran guy.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Now he's not seeing ghosts anymore.
- 31:19Speaker 4: So he's a veteran guy brought that looks and builds
- 31:23Speaker 4: good relationships with his receivers because that's what you got
- 31:25Speaker 4: to do. If those guys are on point, that is
- 31:29Speaker 4: always what's going to help them do that because the
- 31:31Speaker 4: defense is always at the disadvantage every time.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, yeah, the way they do the rules now, the
- 31:38Speaker 2: defense is always disadvantaged.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Even if you know we have defense that you can
- 31:43Speaker 3: call it defense. You have to teach you.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Guys how to rehit. You got to teach guys how
- 31:47Speaker 2: to retackle. You got to teach guys how to redefend.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Every time, every every season, it feels like the owners
- 31:56Speaker 2: come up with new stupid ass rules that have to
- 32:00Speaker 2: make the defenses readjust to how they play, how each
- 32:04Speaker 2: player plays.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Never is we should go back to closed line of guys.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Well I think it would. You know the ratings would go, well.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Well, that's what the NBA nings. They need more fights,
- 32:16Speaker 3: you need the hand fighting back.
- 32:19Speaker 4: That less damn reviews.
- 32:23Speaker 2: All right, so now officially we are moving on to
- 32:25Speaker 2: NFL Shenanigans.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Yes, let's do it.
- 32:30Speaker 3: So a very prominent uh O line uh and.
- 32:36Speaker 2: A run game coach came open this week. I don't
- 32:40Speaker 2: see why, Oh, you shouldn't try to target him if
- 32:43Speaker 2: if they can get him Philadelphia Eagles and uh, you
- 32:49Speaker 2: see the difference of this season and last season for
- 32:53Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 32:54Speaker 3: He was not calling the run game this season.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Oh gotcha.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I was reading the article on him, and they had
- 33:03Speaker 2: taken those they had expected him to stay for this season.
- 33:06Speaker 3: He's got a great old line. He builds a great
- 33:08Speaker 3: old line.
- 33:10Speaker 2: But they he had been called in the run game
- 33:13Speaker 2: and they they said that Siriani took that away from Yeah,
- 33:21Speaker 2: had taken that away from him, and he didn't call
- 33:23Speaker 2: the run game this season. And you see the huge
- 33:26Speaker 2: difference is the struggle that Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, all
- 33:29Speaker 2: those guys. Yeah, it was night and day. But I think, oh,
- 33:35Speaker 2: you should try to get him if they can. I mean,
- 33:37Speaker 2: it would be nice. I know he's an NFL guy.
- 33:39Speaker 2: He's probably gonna end up on the Bears. Well since
- 33:44Speaker 2: they just lost the enemy because the enemy has just
- 33:47Speaker 2: moved back to Kansas City as the offensive coordinator.
- 33:50Speaker 4: If he didn't want to, yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 2: And you know he was doing he was the run
- 33:55Speaker 2: game guy. So why wouldn't you just say, hey, you've
- 33:58Speaker 2: had really good seasons over here in film.
- 34:00Speaker 3: They come over here to do the run game.
- 34:02Speaker 2: We're not Sirianni, you know, fighting the owners for your
- 34:05Speaker 2: job year in and year out. Or Kenny Weste's criticism
- 34:11Speaker 2: now now now.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Now, now.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Kenny's criticism of the Philadelphia Eagles is very deep, and
- 34:17Speaker 2: it goes.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Just to Jalen Hurts.
- 34:19Speaker 5: No, I think j Jalen Hurts is above average he.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Doesn't like Sirianni. He doesn't like Hurts. Who else on
- 34:26Speaker 3: the team? Do you know this? It's like, uh, it's
- 34:30Speaker 3: like rock Party and uh and uh in Kyle Shanahan,
- 34:35Speaker 3: do you like shan I do? Okay, so it's just
- 34:37Speaker 3: Brock Party.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Yeah, No, I don't. I don't dislike Brock Party.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Something. He's that good.
- 34:43Speaker 3: He's the most successful last man drafted. He's the most successful.
- 34:48Speaker 4: I mean, and he's he's very average, and he makes
- 34:50Speaker 4: above average salary. He's a he's paid in the top
- 34:53Speaker 4: ten and he's not a top ten.
- 34:55Speaker 5: He makes a ship ton of money now with his
- 34:57Speaker 5: new contract.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Currently, well that's until guy start redoing that. Kirk Cousins
- 35:01Speaker 2: just got.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Cut, not yet, but it's coming.
- 35:04Speaker 3: I thought he was. I thought that they already.
- 35:05Speaker 4: I think there's a there's a deadline. They got a
- 35:08Speaker 4: weight tailors.
- 35:09Speaker 3: No thought they just did it? Are they?
- 35:14Speaker 2: That's to cut before the few day before the date
- 35:17Speaker 2: where they had to pay him to pay him the money?
- 35:21Speaker 5: She's still on.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Okay, new league year before the and going back to
- 35:24Speaker 4: I was looking at some something that I wanted to
- 35:27Speaker 4: pull up as far as the work is this parent,
- 35:31Speaker 4: I was trying to look at the offensive coordinator changes
- 35:36Speaker 4: in college. We'll get to that in a minute, along
- 35:40Speaker 4: with but I got I got the defensive ones. There's
- 35:43Speaker 4: some juicy ones in.
- 35:44Speaker 3: There, but they have not even liked.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I cannot find the offensive You go ahead to football Scoop.
- 35:51Speaker 5: I like football Scoop.
- 35:52Speaker 4: There's your credit football scoopball school. Yes, So, anyway about
- 35:57Speaker 4: Jeff Stalin resigning from Pitts or Philadelphia, rumor has it
- 36:02Speaker 4: that left guard Dickerson and then Lane Johnson possibly both
- 36:07Speaker 4: considering retirement. We knew Lane was talking about it previously,
- 36:10Speaker 4: so maybe that's gonna be the reason you need to
- 36:16Speaker 4: do OC's. And then also Davis Webb. We talked about
- 36:20Speaker 4: Joe Lombardi Davis webson who's going to be new OC
- 36:22Speaker 4: for Denver because he was getting that. Jim Schwartz did
- 36:26Speaker 4: officially resign, so either has to take a year off
- 36:29Speaker 4: or I think the Raiders have to let him out
- 36:31Speaker 4: of his contract if he wants to coach this year.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I think Clint Kubiak, who's gonna be the new Raiders coach,
- 36:36Speaker 4: obviously needs to get him. That would be a hell
- 36:42Speaker 4: of a higher that would kind of trim this Crosby
- 36:45Speaker 4: stuff down as far as the trade, even though I
- 36:47Speaker 4: think that trade might happen if they're not going to
- 36:49Speaker 4: be a contender, look for Dallas, Tampa Bay and someone
- 36:57Speaker 4: like Washington maybe and maybe even the Patriots to bring
- 37:01Speaker 4: in a Max Crosby with the trade and the Jets.
- 37:04Speaker 4: But he wants to go to a winner. So look
- 37:05Speaker 4: at some of those winner deals, even though we talked
- 37:07Speaker 4: about like I said, yeah, that's exactly the one I want.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Well, and you know that Crosby. You know that Crosby
- 37:16Speaker 2: could end up back on the Bears. This could be
- 37:17Speaker 2: a Khalil Mack thing again.
- 37:20Speaker 5: That would be a good one.
- 37:21Speaker 3: That's what. That's what.
- 37:22Speaker 4: So if he gets traded, he's obviously gonna go. He
- 37:24Speaker 4: wants to go to a winner. So but no, you
- 37:27Speaker 4: talked about the Vikings earlier. They're obviously gonna look for
- 37:29Speaker 4: the reports have come out with a veteran quarterback. Duh JJ,
- 37:32Speaker 4: McCartney's not gonna ever be a good quarterback. He's brought
- 37:35Speaker 4: pretty worse. So that's just in this discussion. He's never
- 37:39Speaker 4: going to be a good out of you No, I
- 37:42Speaker 4: mean we were wrong. He's not sharp. Well, we he's
- 37:45Speaker 4: just not sharp. He's just not sharp. He just doesn't
- 37:48Speaker 4: play well. It's he would the game. The game is
- 37:51Speaker 4: too fast for him. You could tell it's too fast.
- 37:54Speaker 4: He makes mistakes. You talk about, you're supposed to have
- 37:57Speaker 4: one of the best OC's as a head coach exactly.
- 38:00Speaker 3: And look what he's done with all these players.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Now, are you gonna wait? Are you? Are you gonna wait?
- 38:07Speaker 5: He didn't play much?
- 38:08Speaker 4: Are you gonna waste Justin Jefferson on this guy and
- 38:10Speaker 4: Jordan Addison on this guy.
- 38:12Speaker 3: You know, Jordan Edison's wasting himself.
- 38:14Speaker 4: So let's not no, but I mean he's never He's
- 38:16Speaker 4: not a he's not a one guy.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Addison's not a one.
- 38:19Speaker 2: No, it's not even no, it's not that he just
- 38:21Speaker 2: got arrested again. Whoops, Yeah, Jordan Edison just got arrested again.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Oh yeah, But wasn't it kind of something stupid for him?
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:31Speaker 5: Was super like major crime?
- 38:34Speaker 4: Was it?
- 38:34Speaker 2: It was like beat up somebody at a house party
- 38:36Speaker 2: or something.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Okay, that's not stupid, that's no.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Wait though, that's the Georgia guy, the Georgia somebody.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think Addison was it like some sort
- 38:45Speaker 4: of theft or some ship or possibly I don't remember,
- 38:48Speaker 4: failure to do something or anyway. So Jim Schwartz, the
- 38:55Speaker 4: hot commodity out there, Yes, he was a trespassing You
- 38:58Speaker 4: forgot the.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Misdemeanor trespassing at the Seminal hard Rock or telling confession
- 39:04Speaker 2: after release.
- 39:04Speaker 4: That's a casino confessionary.
- 39:07Speaker 5: It's your confession, that's right, Refusing.
- 39:10Speaker 3: To leave a restaurant bout the charges word drop. Okay,
- 39:13Speaker 3: I didn't know that.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Yeah, see I thought it was something stupid. That's you know, but.
- 39:17Speaker 3: It's adding and adding to his history of all field.
- 39:19Speaker 5: No one of those. No, here's what happens.
- 39:23Speaker 3: He's got a drinking problem, yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 5: But hold on the hard rock not and he might
- 39:27Speaker 5: just have a party problem.
- 39:28Speaker 4: He's at the hard rock and then somebody gets into
- 39:30Speaker 4: it and some badass security guy who's about four foot five,
- 39:33Speaker 4: no offense security and goes good here, sir, and then
- 39:36Speaker 4: he becomes a big fucking scene and he arrests him.
- 39:39Speaker 5: That's how that ship goes.
- 39:40Speaker 3: You know, it's a former security guy. I kind of
- 39:42Speaker 3: take offense to that. Yeah. Whatever.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Anyway, all right, let's move on, let's let's talk. And
- 39:46Speaker 5: by the way, I want to go back to the
- 39:47Speaker 5: super Bowl.
- 39:48Speaker 4: According to Fox News, overall, at the end of the season,
- 39:52Speaker 4: Seahawks had the sixth best defense, seventh best offense, Patriots
- 39:56Speaker 4: eighth best defense, third best offense. It shows you that
- 39:59Speaker 4: you've got to be You generally cannot go to the
- 40:02Speaker 4: Super Bowl with a big sway as far as what
- 40:04Speaker 4: got between both, you've got.
- 40:06Speaker 2: To be unless unless it was the Giants versus Ravens Super.
- 40:11Speaker 5: Bowl and both in one great defenses.
- 40:14Speaker 3: The defenses were like one and two. The offenses were like.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Well, Ravens was way down.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Well, Giants was too. Kerry Collins, Oh.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 40:22Speaker 5: But you know he didn't have a bad year that year.
- 40:24Speaker 3: He was in the middle.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, but that ain't no kidding.
- 40:30Speaker 5: All right, let's move on. Let's talk a little bit
- 40:32Speaker 5: about uh football.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Congratulations Javeli, cornerbacks coach and defense co co DC moving
- 40:41Speaker 4: to the Bills as the co defensive coordinator's great. I
- 40:44Speaker 4: think that was a great hire for the Bills. Obviously
- 40:46Speaker 4: knew it was coming because Joe Brady had worked with him,
- 40:50Speaker 4: or not Joe Brady, Jim Leonard had worked with him
- 40:53Speaker 4: when Jay was at Wisconsin. They were both at Wisconsin together,
- 40:56Speaker 4: so hell of a pickup. Obviously, I use looking for
- 40:59Speaker 4: a corners coach. I think we're going to find a
- 41:00Speaker 4: good one. I'm not really concerned. That's one of the
- 41:03Speaker 4: deeper areas of our team too. I mean, we're in
- 41:05Speaker 4: good shape.
- 41:07Speaker 3: A lot of Jay was changed and that was the
- 41:10Speaker 3: one thing that we've been looking for.
- 41:11Speaker 5: For years and Jay was a part of that.
- 41:13Speaker 3: So that was our defensive backs that all gone to ship.
- 41:15Speaker 4: So I want to talk just just to give you
- 41:17Speaker 4: all the update and and courtesy UH football Scoop who
- 41:20Speaker 4: gives you everything as far as that, but we just
- 41:23Speaker 4: wanted to talk a little bit about some of the
- 41:25Speaker 4: now that everything has kind of slowed down, all the changes. Yes,
- 41:30Speaker 4: it's so offensive coordinators, some big changes coming to that.
- 41:35Speaker 4: If you'd scroll down a little bit. Sean Chad Morris
- 41:37Speaker 4: is back former time.
- 41:39Speaker 3: I'm not going to talk about Colorado.
- 41:41Speaker 5: Well, I'm going down the list. I'm going down the list.
- 41:44Speaker 3: It's c l C O sid to go down.
- 41:48Speaker 5: No, I went to you don't want to screen me down.
- 41:51Speaker 3: I want to talk about Arkansas.
- 41:54Speaker 5: I don't even know who Arkansas's head coaches now.
- 41:56Speaker 3: But anyway, it's Sam Smith.
- 41:59Speaker 4: I know Chad from Memphis. Uh, No, Carolina brings Chad
- 42:06Speaker 4: Morris in. Garrett Riley got canned. He's currently the quarterback
- 42:09Speaker 4: coach at Iowa State. I think now the mighty have fallen.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Uh.
- 42:12Speaker 5: Nick Patrino obviously.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Huh Who's who's the quarterback coach at Iowa State now?
- 42:17Speaker 3: Garrett? Oh? Yeah, because the whole new coaching stuff.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Yeah, Chad Morris takes over for Clemson. Think that's a
- 42:24Speaker 4: good hire. Nick Patrino obviously the Patrino family. He's a
- 42:27Speaker 4: new oc. Coastal Colorado. Brendan Marion made the huge mistakes
- 42:30Speaker 4: of Colorado coastal Carolina. I like a coastal Colorado. That
- 42:35Speaker 4: would be mountain coastal, but.
- 42:40Speaker 5: Iver see the ocean.
- 42:42Speaker 3: It's coastal.
- 42:42Speaker 4: If you stand high enough on the mountain, the clouds
- 42:44Speaker 4: are real good. You can see the city.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Nina.
- 42:47Speaker 4: Brendan Marrion, who I love. I told you this in
- 42:49Speaker 4: a previous when he went to Colorado. I'm so disappointment.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Get out fast. It's not going to turn out good
- 42:53Speaker 4: for you. You're a hell of a coach. Though I
- 42:55Speaker 4: was screaming for you, for owe you to hire you
- 42:58Speaker 4: as the o C said, we high seth the trail.
- 43:00Speaker 5: You see how well that worked out.
- 43:02Speaker 3: My surprise was Gus mills On retiring.
- 43:05Speaker 5: Yes, that was a surprise.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 5: Do you think he's really retiring.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I think he's actually done this time. I think him
- 43:12Speaker 2: and his wife want to canoodle move back to coastal Arkansas,
- 43:20Speaker 2: that's very possible, or just stay in Florida where they've
- 43:23Speaker 2: lived for the last ten years. All right, we got
- 43:29Speaker 2: Uster left Georgia Tech.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously went to Florida. That was that was a
- 43:34Speaker 4: big move. And then as you go down, you obviously
- 43:36Speaker 4: Charlie Weiss left Memphi or Old Miss.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Charlie Weiss goes to ls.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Yes, Junior.
- 43:43Speaker 4: But if you continue to go down, Sean I John
- 43:46Speaker 4: David Baker left ECU, who was a surprise team last year,
- 43:50Speaker 4: and now he's going to he should be if you
- 43:52Speaker 4: look at Old Miss, if you go further down, he
- 43:54Speaker 4: should be the new he should be the new quarterback
- 43:57Speaker 4: or I'm sorry, new offensive coordinator. John David Baker's new
- 44:01Speaker 4: offensive coordinator for Old Miss. So Chip Kelly goes to Northwestern.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Great Arthur Smith, our Pittsburgh Steeler bystander go up just
- 44:11Speaker 4: a smidge our Pittsburgh Steeler. Bystander goes, why in the
- 44:14Speaker 4: hell would Arthur Smith get hired at Ohio State? Do
- 44:19Speaker 4: you know who Arthur Smith's dad is? He's a founder
- 44:23Speaker 4: of FedEx. Talk about some Neil money, Baby, if your
- 44:28Speaker 4: son's coaching there, you can get all the money you want.
- 44:31Speaker 3: True. Uh.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Plus plus the fact that not that that not that
- 44:35Speaker 2: that's gonna plus the fact that that Ryan Days has
- 44:39Speaker 2: been bringing in professional guys to coach.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Correct, it's kind of changed Bobby and losing heartline is
- 44:47Speaker 4: gonna be big for them.
- 44:47Speaker 5: I'm just letting you know, Bobby Patrino.
- 44:50Speaker 3: I read to see what happens with Justin saying.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Bobby Trino goes and works for one old man Arkansas,
- 44:56Speaker 4: now to an old man at North Carolina, which I
- 44:58Speaker 4: think that's a great hire for BELLI Check.
- 45:00Speaker 5: I just don't like everything around that.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Imagine how that office is gonna smell.
- 45:04Speaker 5: No, I just just I don't smell of old man.
- 45:06Speaker 5: I just don't like.
- 45:07Speaker 4: I don't like anything about Check's got all his family
- 45:10Speaker 4: and friends.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Plus they have the same they have the same taste
- 45:13Speaker 3: in women very young.
- 45:14Speaker 4: And there's nothing wrong with that. Sewan moving on. So
- 45:18Speaker 4: Kendall Browles goes to South Carolina. Obviously they need a
- 45:21Speaker 4: big change there.
- 45:22Speaker 2: He comes at Olama State, Doug Machell has gone, and
- 45:25Speaker 2: now Sean Rophy is in with the new coaching staff.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and followed obviously followed him.
- 45:28Speaker 3: And that's our Oklahoma State hour.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Yeah, go down a little bit. See if we missed
- 45:32Speaker 4: anything else we did.
- 45:34Speaker 3: South Carolina fired Mike Shula.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Kendall brows You listen to what I talk or just
- 45:40Speaker 4: look you know? I mean I just mentioned that Tim
- 45:43Speaker 4: Beck goes to South Florida. Good hire for heartline. That
- 45:45Speaker 4: was secretly not really talked about, but I thought that
- 45:48Speaker 4: was really good. Kevin Barbie a university of Bread Robbins.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Kevin Barbie has got the experience. Obviously, Alex Morgan did
- 45:57Speaker 4: he get.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Did Goblins get fired at?
- 46:01Speaker 4: Not real sure, I don't know what he done. I
- 46:03Speaker 4: haven't even looked at him. But no, So let's move
- 46:06Speaker 4: on to the defense.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Well, the whole, the whole new u C l A
- 46:10Speaker 3: offense coming in.
- 46:10Speaker 2: They got Dean Kennedy and uh, what's his name is
- 46:14Speaker 2: already promising a big ten championship.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Who's that?
- 46:19Speaker 2: The coach for u C l a, he's already promising
- 46:24Speaker 2: a Big ten championship.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Tosh loopa. Oh no, no, it's it's Brah.
- 46:29Speaker 4: It's no, no, no, no, it's uh it's.
- 46:33Speaker 5: James Madison, Guy.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Bob Good, Bob chi Chi.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Let's go to the defensive hirings. Let's move on from that.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Oh that was fun.
- 46:44Speaker 4: We're giving everybody the quick breakdown of every coaching move
- 46:47Speaker 4: and and uh to see if you had if anything
- 46:50Speaker 4: really sticks.
- 46:51Speaker 3: You know, do not you? Hugh? Why do I want
- 46:59Speaker 3: to know? Department of Justice changes?
- 47:03Speaker 4: Bob Chesney, damn it just kidding. They're not related, I
- 47:12Speaker 4: don't think so. Anyway.
- 47:14Speaker 3: A sports schoop?
- 47:15Speaker 5: What what? What it's on there? I had pulled mine
- 47:17Speaker 5: up and lost it because that's what I do.
- 47:21Speaker 3: That's what I do with a sports book.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I just wrote down a few. We'll talk about a
- 47:29Speaker 4: few that I saw that really stuck out. Brent Pott Pry,
- 47:32Speaker 4: former Virginia Tech coach head coach, goes back to Virginia
- 47:36Speaker 4: Tech as d C for James Franklin. Gary Patterson gets
- 47:40Speaker 4: hired a USC horrible songing in well for one of them.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Guys.
- 47:47Speaker 4: I'm just letting you know, well must champ Texas. Did
- 47:52Speaker 4: you see that?
- 47:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we saw that long time.
- 47:54Speaker 4: This is something funny about that too. Jim Knowles, Tennessee.
- 47:59Speaker 4: I thought that was a hell I'm a higher by him.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and that was.
- 48:03Speaker 2: That was that was what's up here? We go finally,
- 48:08Speaker 2: God damn it, who's the head coach? That was hypepalsum
- 48:11Speaker 2: ship out of his ass to get him to go there,
- 48:15Speaker 2: because you know that, you know that. Knowles looked at
- 48:17Speaker 2: that and goes, hey, I got you, bro, I see
- 48:21Speaker 2: what's happening down here.
- 48:23Speaker 3: I see that your team is struggling.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Because you're all offense and your defense can't keep up.
- 48:29Speaker 2: And Knowles is a very good recruiter, so they we've
- 48:36Speaker 2: been looking to change a turnaround. At least I know
- 48:39Speaker 2: that their quarterback is trying to sue his way back in.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Chambliss was not allowed back in.
- 48:46Speaker 3: You saw that they denied.
- 48:49Speaker 2: The courts denied Chambliss his year, but Arguilera Aguilera for
- 48:56Speaker 2: Tennessee was trying to get another season and he might
- 49:00Speaker 2: be denied.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Ted Roof went to Boston College. We thought that that
- 49:09Speaker 3: guy had retired. I got your list for your decordinator.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was the big ones, and obviously
- 49:17Speaker 4: Ted ruff back at it the old.
- 49:21Speaker 5: He just loves coaching. He likes that paycheck.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I don't know if it's the paycheck.
- 49:25Speaker 4: I think he's all right.
- 49:26Speaker 5: He just doesn't want to be very very vanilla.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Anything else you see in there already went over mine.
- 49:32Speaker 2: So then I thought that was a good Well, you know, Okay,
- 49:35Speaker 2: so Georgia Tech again, you know they had to change.
- 49:39Speaker 2: You know, they've got Jason Seymour. Now Illinois still doesn't
- 49:43Speaker 2: have one.
