- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, Donald, Holy cow, I did and it's like euphoric
- 0:08Speaker 1: right now, Oh my god. Good right, it feels good,
- 0:12Speaker 1: but it's also like scary, like when you put I
- 0:14Speaker 1: pushed my body. Man, I got my heart rate up
- 0:16Speaker 1: to one hundred and eighty something, you know what I mean.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I have the heart rate monitor and I got my
- 0:24Speaker 1: heart rate up to one hundred and eighty something. And
- 0:26Speaker 1: I was like, how long can I sustain this? And
- 0:29Speaker 1: I did it for like two minutes. Good? You feel good? Right?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Excuse me? My body's making noises, creaking. It's like it's
- 0:41Speaker 1: not just creaking, like gases coming out of me, Like
- 0:44Speaker 1: all things are happening with my body. Yeah, because of this,
- 0:48Speaker 1: because of peloton. So whould you would you use Cody
- 0:51Speaker 1: or somebody? Who do you think I use Zech? You're
- 0:54Speaker 1: very loyal to Cody because he knows what he's doing.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He knows how to get me there. Make me laugh, yea,
- 1:03Speaker 1: but work really, really, really really hard. I was thinking
- 1:07Speaker 1: one of the cool things about a trainer that makes
- 1:09Speaker 1: you laugh is that you forget that you're doing what
- 1:15Speaker 1: you're doing. No, I know what I'm I know what
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm doing. The whole idea of spinning. The whole idea
- 1:22Speaker 1: of spinning that I like is that you kind of
- 1:24Speaker 1: it's kind of like dancing. You get lost in the
- 1:26Speaker 1: music and you're peddling as fast as you can, but
- 1:28Speaker 1: you can kind of even though sometimes it's really hard,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you can kind of get lost in a little bit.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's like a new idea a way of exerciting for
- 1:34Speaker 1: me because I'm not like a guy who's doing like
- 1:35Speaker 1: arobics classes and dance classes to music and then all
- 1:39Speaker 1: of a sudden, this guy's making me laugh, like literally
- 1:41Speaker 1: when you when is someone like doing jokes and making
- 1:43Speaker 1: you laugh on the bike? That's that's like a whole
- 1:45Speaker 1: new way to exercise. Yeah, because what you look forward
- 1:48Speaker 1: to it and sometimes and and and Cody, you know
- 1:51Speaker 1: sometimes he gets really serious on rides and he doesn't
- 1:53Speaker 1: necessarily uh he doesn't. He doesn't joke around. And you
- 2:01Speaker 1: sit there. It's like when Eddie Murphy said, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I did that record where I'm sitting at the piano
- 2:05Speaker 1: and everybody's like, I wonder when he's gonna fart, And
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, well am I gonna fart? You know
- 2:10Speaker 1: what I mean. It's like you're waiting for Cody to
- 2:13Speaker 1: tell the joke, and if he doesn't, it's not necessarily
- 2:16Speaker 1: disappointing because he's a really good motivator. Like I've learned
- 2:20Speaker 1: that there's a lot of people on this planet that
- 2:22Speaker 1: can motivate a group of people to do things right.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Bill Belichick is one of them. He's done it for
- 2:28Speaker 1: a really long time, you know. Pat Riley is one
- 2:31Speaker 1: of them. Phil Jackson is one of them. Doc Rivers
- 2:35Speaker 1: is one of them. There are a bunch of coaches
- 2:38Speaker 1: that can do that, you know, that can just have
- 2:40Speaker 1: this ability to make it so that you just want
- 2:43Speaker 1: to run through walls for them. It's a coach that
- 2:45Speaker 1: does this. Usually it's the football, basketball, usually in sports,
- 2:49Speaker 1: when you find a trainer that can do that, because
- 2:51Speaker 1: usually you're paying the trainer right and you're giving the
- 2:54Speaker 1: trainer money, and the trainer's like, you know you can
- 2:57Speaker 1: do this, do this, and you're doing it because you're like,
- 2:59Speaker 1: I'm paying you, so I need to go as hard
- 3:01Speaker 1: as I as I possibly can go. Now, if you
- 3:04Speaker 1: say I'm paying you, but the trainers also getting you
- 3:06Speaker 1: to go even harder than you want to go, that's
- 3:09Speaker 1: a great trainer. And Cody does that and I'm gonna
- 3:11Speaker 1: be honest with you. He doesn't. I'm never I looking
- 3:13Speaker 1: at my heart rate and seeing it at one eighty five,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I usually would be like, I quit, fuck it, this
- 3:18Speaker 1: is too high. I'm scared. I'm afraid. I was like, fucking,
- 3:21Speaker 1: let's see how far we can go. Let's go. What's
- 3:23Speaker 1: the worst thing that's gonna happen. You're gonna die on
- 3:25Speaker 1: the bike. I gotta tell you that. It's like in
- 3:27Speaker 1: any depressant, the endorphins I'm getting off this bike. I
- 3:31Speaker 1: like yesterday, I was like kind of skipping around. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: just had such a pep in my step because I
- 3:36Speaker 1: because because I've been spinning uh every day this week. Hey,
- 3:41Speaker 1: welcome to all our listeners. Hi, everybody, we we missed you.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Donald didn't we miss them? I always missed them. Hi, Joel, Joel, Hi, Daniel, Guys,
- 3:50Speaker 1: it going, guys spectacular. It's a great Hi, guys, Hie
- 3:54Speaker 1: too well. Why do you see melancholic? Moving is very stressful,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and move in two days and I didn't bother to
- 4:02Speaker 1: take off work because we just got back to work,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and so everybody needs something. It is there's just a
- 4:09Speaker 1: lot of things on my plate and I'm just trying
- 4:11Speaker 1: to keep it all moving in a good trip. You're
- 4:13Speaker 1: feeling overwhelmed, but can't you just focus on how excited
- 4:16Speaker 1: you are to move into your new townhouse. I am
- 4:19Speaker 1: so effing excited, and you're gonna be is it gonna?
- 4:23Speaker 1: Is it like? Is it like? Is it like? Full house?
- 4:28Speaker 1: Everywhere you is that full house everywhere you go that
- 4:33Speaker 1: they lived in the townhouse right San Francisco. Yeah, you
- 4:37Speaker 1: need you. You're lost out there and you're all alone.
- 4:42Speaker 1: A light is waiting to carry you home. Realms. You
- 4:48Speaker 1: just have to focus on how excited you are to
- 4:51Speaker 1: have a new house. Yes, I couldn't be more excited,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and I'm trying all that positive energy forward. But you know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: thanks to gotta get edited and put in the bin
- 5:02Speaker 1: and sent to people on time, and so, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 1: feeling a lot of emotions. Donald's still singing to score this.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I was trying to score your story. By the way,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I gonna tell you guys and you listeners, I watched
- 5:16Speaker 1: the best movie I saw this year last night, and
- 5:19Speaker 1: I think it's not it's not enough on the radar.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Everybody needs to know about what the movie. You're not
- 5:25Speaker 1: gonna watch it but these two will and our listeners might.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's called Sound of Metal. Oh so good, Riz Ahmed? Right, Joel,
- 5:39Speaker 1: is it's about without any spoilers because it would be
- 5:44Speaker 1: in the trailers to do from Star Wars? Right? Yes,
- 5:48Speaker 1: oh yeah? Donald will know him by his character from
- 5:53Speaker 1: Star Wars. From Star Wars one body from Star Wars
- 5:58Speaker 1: is an amazing actor. You probably never saw a night
- 6:01Speaker 1: of which was like one of them, But of course
- 6:03Speaker 1: I've seen. I saw him turn from sucker to freaking
- 6:06Speaker 1: hard ass man. That dude is amazing. Are you anyway?
- 6:09Speaker 1: He's a wonderful actor and he'll probably I'm sure he'll
- 6:11Speaker 1: be nominated and maybe win for Best Actor this year.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I really I can't recommend this movie highly enough everybody.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It's on Amazon. You can watch it now. They send
- 6:21Speaker 1: us a screener and we were about to watch the
- 6:23Speaker 1: screener and then realize it's already out. I don't want
- 6:25Speaker 1: to root it for you. It's an an endy, it's
- 6:29Speaker 1: it's it has a slow pace to it, so you
- 6:31Speaker 1: have to be patient with it. But he and the
- 6:35Speaker 1: actress who plays his love interest give two of the
- 6:37Speaker 1: finest performances I've seen. I think her name is Olivia
- 6:41Speaker 1: Cook and she's a wonderful actress. I gotta tell you, man,
- 6:45Speaker 1: this Riz Ahmed Donald will know him as Body the Pilot.
- 6:48Speaker 1: He is an extraordinary actor, dude, He's phenomenal. Look they
- 6:53Speaker 1: showed when he was auditioning for Rogue one, Gareth Edwards
- 7:00Speaker 1: recently through Lucasfilm, and they released the auditions and he
- 7:05Speaker 1: wasn't in town when he auditioned for Body, but so
- 7:09Speaker 1: he sent in a self tape. And this is probably
- 7:12Speaker 1: one of the dopest self tapes I've ever seen in
- 7:14Speaker 1: my life, you know. And the guy does and and
- 7:17Speaker 1: so Gareth gives Rizz his email, and so once Rizz
- 7:23Speaker 1: gets the email, he keeps sending him audition after audition
- 7:28Speaker 1: different ways that his character could be played. Yeah, that
- 7:32Speaker 1: the character could be played and uh and and and
- 7:35Speaker 1: then finally Gareth was like, dude, come on, man, all right, fine,
- 7:38Speaker 1: that's enough. You got the job. It's yours. Well, if
- 7:42Speaker 1: they give you the email, they're giving you license. If
- 7:45Speaker 1: they give them up for a part right now that
- 7:47Speaker 1: I really want, and I know that the writer really
- 7:51Speaker 1: wants me for it. I feel like I should be
- 7:53Speaker 1: hot boxing the director with emails. You have the emailed
- 7:57Speaker 1: for the director. Oh I can get anything, Donald, I'm
- 8:00Speaker 1: connected up in this bitch. Okay, so you should go yourself.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I mean, it's one way to do it. Do you
- 8:05Speaker 1: know the story of empty chairs at empty tables being
- 8:07Speaker 1: a cappella in the lay Miss movie No, Well, that
- 8:11Speaker 1: actor any Redmaine doesn't have anyone to play piano, and
- 8:16Speaker 1: he's on location. He's making a movie somewhere, so he
- 8:18Speaker 1: just sings acapella empty chairs and empty tables, and the
- 8:21Speaker 1: director loved it so much that he kept it that
- 8:24Speaker 1: way in the movie. That's awesome and that was cool.
- 8:30Speaker 1: He wanted the oscar for that one and the one
- 8:33Speaker 1: for playing the super dope scientist. Anyway, I'm gonna call
- 8:37Speaker 1: it right now, kids ready. Zamed is the current front
- 8:41Speaker 1: runner for Best Actor in a Film. In my mind,
- 8:45Speaker 1: what I've seen a bunch of movies. So I'm telling
- 8:47Speaker 1: you get in early on this. When is that? When
- 8:50Speaker 1: are the Oscars? They usually happened in like April, right, Joel?
- 8:54Speaker 1: These days the Oscars were February. Let me see, I
- 9:01Speaker 1: don't know. Yeah. Oh no, you're right, you're bad on
- 9:03Speaker 1: your superior knowledge. Sundaye. There you go. Okay, still do
- 9:07Speaker 1: them probably, Like remember when Jimmy Kimmel hosted the what
- 9:11Speaker 1: was it the last awards show that the Emmys or something,
- 9:14Speaker 1: he hosted something and they did it in a really
- 9:15Speaker 1: weird COVID way. I almost em they'll do it that way.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So this is right, This is right around the time
- 9:24Speaker 1: when the good movies are going to start coming out. Then, right,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I think everything for twenty twenties been out already. I mean,
- 9:30Speaker 1: you'll get some screeners. The weird thing about getting screeners
- 9:32Speaker 1: a word, screeners this year is that they everything's pretty
- 9:35Speaker 1: much been on TV. But I always thought the movies
- 9:39Speaker 1: came out like right around now, Like this is the
- 9:41Speaker 1: time where you drop your movie if you want it
- 9:43Speaker 1: to be or you gotta do it. You gotta do
- 9:46Speaker 1: it in December to qualify. To qualify, I believe you
- 9:50Speaker 1: have to do a week of theatrical in a theater. Okay,
- 9:54Speaker 1: so let me ask you a question. Then within the
- 9:56Speaker 1: within the calendar year. Okay, Well here's here's here. How
- 10:00Speaker 1: do we do that this year too? Wow? Because they
- 10:02Speaker 1: were just putting movies out, Like you know, even if
- 10:04Speaker 1: you dropped your movie, ninety nine percent of people are
- 10:06Speaker 1: going to see it streaming. You still did one week somewhere.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It could be in Duluth. It doesn't matter. You just
- 10:10Speaker 1: have to like be in a theater for a week.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Got it? Are you gonna watch the movie? I just
- 10:15Speaker 1: want to know if you're if there's even a cell
- 10:17Speaker 1: in your What if I told you that he like
- 10:19Speaker 1: makes a Star Wars reference in the middle of the
- 10:21Speaker 1: movie one you're lying to me? So that's it was
- 10:24Speaker 1: a really cool moment, like three quarters of the way
- 10:27Speaker 1: through the movie where there's like this fantasy sequence where
- 10:29Speaker 1: they're like pretending they're in Star Wars. I watch it, Joel.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Is your brother helping you pack? Or is are you
- 10:38Speaker 1: doing all the hard work? My brother and her roommate
- 10:41Speaker 1: are very good packers. They are consistently helpful. I have
- 10:45Speaker 1: a bad back, which means I can't left anything over anything. Yes,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I really down yesterday that we're throwing out, so I
- 10:57Speaker 1: would I would be very lost with up. By the way,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I got to say, Los Angeles gets a lot of shit,
- 11:03Speaker 1: And granted, even there's more COVID than oxygen molecules currently,
- 11:08Speaker 1: but today is a beautiful day, and this week it's
- 11:10Speaker 1: going to be eighty four wow. So you know, for
- 11:14Speaker 1: all the ship the city gets and we're clearly not
- 11:17Speaker 1: that well run currently, but I do have to say
- 11:19Speaker 1: it's a beautiful place to live in In January, it's
- 11:22Speaker 1: gonna be eighty four and sunny. I'm really I'm I
- 11:27Speaker 1: don't know what to do. I know I'm going to
- 11:28Speaker 1: take the kids out this week man. Well, we've been
- 11:31Speaker 1: doing what we do that anyway. We've been doing that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We've been playing basketball like, we've been going out as
- 11:37Speaker 1: a family. You can swim them at my house, by
- 11:39Speaker 1: the way, I'm gonna be out of town this weekend
- 11:41Speaker 1: if you want to. If you want to run them
- 11:42Speaker 1: at my pool, that would be great. We will take
- 11:45Speaker 1: you up on that, especially if it's eighty something to great.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Remind me to turn the pool on or they'll be screaming.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All right, let's start this fucking show. Donald, Let's get
- 11:56Speaker 1: into it. Let's talk about the TV show Scrubs. Say
- 12:00Speaker 1: stories about show. We made a lot of nurses stories.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Gather around here, Gather around here. You're gonna be so
- 12:24Speaker 1: upset at me. Why you didn't do it. You didn't
- 12:27Speaker 1: do a recap? I did I did not do a recap.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I kind of did a recap? Graph guy? What does
- 12:33Speaker 1: he do? What does graph guy do? If he doesn't
- 12:35Speaker 1: have a time, I have like zero, puts a zero
- 12:38Speaker 1: in there. I have a bit of a recap actually,
- 12:41Speaker 1: but it's not a recap. It's just like scribbled thoughts
- 12:44Speaker 1: on the plice. He never got around. You never got
- 12:46Speaker 1: around to the recap. And huh no, because listen, I
- 12:49Speaker 1: made lunch today for the kids. You're gonna love this one.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I made Kanye sada with some Spanish rice and uh,
- 13:02Speaker 1: the vegetable was a nice spinach m but not to
- 13:09Speaker 1: slime appreciate it. That sounds like a nice meal. Do
- 13:11Speaker 1: they appreciate it? We? They ate all of it. It
- 13:15Speaker 1: was very nice. It was like one of those moments
- 13:18Speaker 1: in my life where I put the work into it
- 13:20Speaker 1: and it worked out. So it was one of those
- 13:22Speaker 1: moments in my life where I enjoyed my kids. You
- 13:25Speaker 1: know this, It was a great vote. You know, it's
- 13:28Speaker 1: rare that your kids eat your food. They'll pick at it,
- 13:30Speaker 1: they'll nibble at it, and you'll sit there and you'll
- 13:32Speaker 1: be like, you eat that ship and then eventually you
- 13:35Speaker 1: finally throw it out and give them the damn ice
- 13:37Speaker 1: cream that they're asking what's the what's what's a non
- 13:40Speaker 1: What's a meal that they enjoy that's not dessert that
- 13:43Speaker 1: they'll really devour. Chicken fingers, chicken finger. Chicken fingers used
- 13:49Speaker 1: to be to jam, but now it's not. Now it's like,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you know, mac and cheese. However, I did you know,
- 13:54Speaker 1: uh I did you know a case of dia? Uh?
- 14:00Speaker 1: That always works? Uh? You know it's what they people
- 14:06Speaker 1: avocado toast that works out every now and then you know,
- 14:12Speaker 1: it's it's it's really difficult to get them to eat
- 14:15Speaker 1: fruit unless it's like a apple or you know, my my,
- 14:20Speaker 1: my daughter doesn't like oranges, but she likes little cuties,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you know, right, you know what I mean. It's that's
- 14:28Speaker 1: that's the It's it's tough, man, because and and you
- 14:32Speaker 1: don't have and and once you get a lot of it,
- 14:34Speaker 1: that's when they don't like it anymore. You know, you
- 14:36Speaker 1: you you purchase so you've noticed, oh shit, they he
- 14:40Speaker 1: really love the steak tonight. And so the next couple
- 14:43Speaker 1: of meals, not the next couple of meals, but you like,
- 14:45Speaker 1: try and introduce steak, you know, maybe four meals later
- 14:50Speaker 1: and they're like, I don't want that ship and you're like, well,
- 14:52Speaker 1: you know, he doesn't say I don't want that ship.
- 14:53Speaker 1: He's like I don't want it, and you're like, well
- 14:55Speaker 1: you ate it, you know four days ago. M's like,
- 14:59Speaker 1: that was four days ago. My taste puts have changed.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Your taste sputs have changed in four days. I don't
- 15:05Speaker 1: feel a lot of positivity about this whole kid thing. Dude,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm not trying to move into your house. They move
- 15:11Speaker 1: into your house. It's the conflict you want. It's the
- 15:15Speaker 1: empire strikes back. It's the conflicts you want. They're so ungrateful,
- 15:19Speaker 1: they're expensive. It's the conflicts you want but never knew
- 15:23Speaker 1: you wanted. It's that I'm telling you, man, you love it.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You just want to say if I just want to
- 15:27Speaker 1: represent on behalf of the listeners who may be on
- 15:31Speaker 1: the fence about having children. I don't think that you're
- 15:34Speaker 1: a walking advertisement for loving it. Nobody wants Stepford or
- 15:38Speaker 1: children of the corn kids. I'm telling you right now,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you don't want that. I'm telling you right now you
- 15:42Speaker 1: want some type of character and your kids. You don't
- 15:44Speaker 1: want the perfect child that just does whatever you want
- 15:46Speaker 1: them to do. I know, I'm just I'm just worried
- 15:50Speaker 1: to be honest, and I'm just gonna I'm this is
- 15:52Speaker 1: my candid take is that you put all this work
- 15:56Speaker 1: into it and then once they can talk, they're kind
- 15:59Speaker 1: of like ungrateful and mean. No, just anger is an
- 16:05Speaker 1: easy emotion, man, Like you know, I like, then move out.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I'm sorry. They're kids, man, They're kids. It's the whole premise, Listen,
- 16:14Speaker 1: it's the whole premise of the dark side of the
- 16:17Speaker 1: Force is being a kid. You think I'm joking, but like,
- 16:20Speaker 1: I just wonder if you really can't possibly go without
- 16:23Speaker 1: thinking about Star Wars, Like, what's the longest you've ever gone? Well,
- 16:27Speaker 1: you're asking me about why kids get so angry and
- 16:30Speaker 1: stuff like that. It's an easy emotion for them, and
- 16:33Speaker 1: they're young and they're not wise and don't know how
- 16:35Speaker 1: to control their anger. And the best way to explain
- 16:39Speaker 1: that to you know, uh, for me to expect, for
- 16:43Speaker 1: me to understand it growing up was Star Wars. The
- 16:46Speaker 1: reason why it's so easy to go to the dark
- 16:49Speaker 1: side to become powerful from the dark side, because you're
- 16:53Speaker 1: deep fueling your anger. That's why I talk about it
- 16:55Speaker 1: so much part of my life. When you do you're hater.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You'll be hating sometimes. Man, When do you guys get joel? Joel?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Hear me hayting sometimes? Keep me one hundred, get involved, Joel.
- 17:05Speaker 1: He's talking about listening, putting bubble rap. Come on, Jack,
- 17:11Speaker 1: ain't putting no will was like Joell zoned out. She's
- 17:16Speaker 1: got her like mic on mute, wrapping shit and bubble rap.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You're stressed out, all right, Let's get to the let's
- 17:28Speaker 1: get into the recap. All right. Listen, let's get into
- 17:32Speaker 1: your non written recap. Are you gonna like a You're
- 17:35Speaker 1: gonna like free free flow it? When do you call that?
- 17:37Speaker 1: When you're when you when you're rest out? Are you
- 17:39Speaker 1: gonna free stout? And I'm gonna do it off the tops?
- 17:42Speaker 1: Go ahead, go ahead, Ready ahead. Pep up, peep peep.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Doctor Cox and doctor Kelso are like an old married
- 17:53Speaker 1: couple tow reads back and she's looking prettier and prettier.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Let's right, did I say it right? Those eyes are
- 18:01Speaker 1: so blue. Carlo's freaking out about the wedding. JD wants
- 18:05Speaker 1: what he can't have. Victory could be snatched from you
- 18:10Speaker 1: at the last moment. It's very interesting. The grass is
- 18:15Speaker 1: also always greener on the other side. This was That's
- 18:20Speaker 1: what this episode was about. This episode was about what's
- 18:23Speaker 1: on the other side, and everybody has foamo. But when
- 18:27Speaker 1: you get it finally, at the end of the day,
- 18:30Speaker 1: the grass isn't greener. If anything, it's maybe a little
- 18:34Speaker 1: less green or if not worse. Be happy with what
- 18:38Speaker 1: you got people, you like what you get, what you get,
- 18:42Speaker 1: and you don't get upset. That's how it goes, all right, Well,
- 18:45Speaker 1: listen on behalf of all of our listeners. I think
- 18:47Speaker 1: it's better when you pre write them and plan them
- 18:49Speaker 1: out a little bit. I had shit to do. I'm
- 18:51Speaker 1: sorry people, my kids had to eat today. All right, listen,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I think this is a great conversation for all four
- 18:59Speaker 1: of us, so Daniel Pitts Jell but Daniel's right, thank you.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Everybody's focus. But do you know I'm right what I'm
- 19:05Speaker 1: on the right of this episode? One of the things
- 19:08Speaker 1: I took from this episode. We're talking about episode what
- 19:11Speaker 1: are we on here? Joel twenty three? Twenty guys, don't
- 19:16Speaker 1: mean we're getting to the end of the third season,
- 19:18Speaker 1: so you know, the ship's going by real quick. We're
- 19:21Speaker 1: gonna have to find another show. To watch. Maybe I'll
- 19:23Speaker 1: be the Office. How funny would that be if we
- 19:27Speaker 1: did an Office rewatch podcast? We should do that ship?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Oh my god? But anyway, wouldn't it be funny when
- 19:34Speaker 1: we run out of episodes we switched to the Office Office,
- 19:37Speaker 1: Because I've actually never seen The Office all the way through,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I think, or Friends? Right, we pick another popular show
- 19:44Speaker 1: and we just do a rewatch of that show. Friends
- 19:47Speaker 1: is hilarious, Dude, I've actually mar no black people on Friends.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I'd be like and all right, So if you were
- 19:59Speaker 1: to read do a we watch podcasts of a of
- 20:01Speaker 1: a very popular sitcom? Would it be Seinfeldt Friends? Or
- 20:06Speaker 1: The Office? Oh? Donald, it would probably be The Office? Donald,
- 20:13Speaker 1: you go first. I think we should do the Office. No, no,
- 20:16Speaker 1: no disrespect. I don't know, man, I don't know. If
- 20:18Speaker 1: I liked The Office, it was very funny. It's a
- 20:20Speaker 1: lot of seasons. Also Friends, Yeah, that's true. And in
- 20:29Speaker 1: terms of in terms of thank you, thank you, Joel,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that would be a good note. Have you ever watched Martin?
- 20:33Speaker 1: Have you ever watched Martin? No, dude, no, I remember
- 20:37Speaker 1: like Gino and I remember him getting in trouble because
- 20:40Speaker 1: she hated him. That's all I remember, No gin is
- 20:43Speaker 1: his was his girl? Oh? The actress in real life
- 20:46Speaker 1: like a hoard him? All right, Joel, I know this,
- 20:50Speaker 1: but I want that Tea what Ye? She did not
- 20:55Speaker 1: like him? What she should like? Martin Ta Campbell did
- 21:01Speaker 1: not like Martin LARTs No, you can google it. They
- 21:03Speaker 1: she like hated him. Oh, I'm pretty sure, Joel, please
- 21:06Speaker 1: double chair anyway. So anyway, one of the main themes
- 21:16Speaker 1: of this episode is j D wanting something he can't have.
- 21:20Speaker 1: There's a great Groucho Marx quote, I would never want
- 21:23Speaker 1: to be a part of any club that would have
- 21:24Speaker 1: me as a member. And I think j D the
- 21:30Speaker 1: character and many humans we all know and do, all
- 21:34Speaker 1: of us and to some extent, long for what we
- 21:38Speaker 1: can't have and then when we get it, or like,
- 21:41Speaker 1: I don't know that I wanted this. And I wondered
- 21:43Speaker 1: if you guys had any dating experience in your lives
- 21:46Speaker 1: where you really, really really lusted or lungs for someone
- 21:52Speaker 1: and then finally won them over, and then once you
- 21:54Speaker 1: got them, we're like, oh, I didn't want this as
- 21:59Speaker 1: bad as I said I did. No, the only person
- 22:02Speaker 1: I've ever worked really hard for in my life was
- 22:10Speaker 1: casey cop, like I worked my ass off to get her.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I met her, and it was that energy. But you
- 22:20Speaker 1: were prettymature by that I'm talking about. It's kind of
- 22:22Speaker 1: an immature thing, like you do you have any memories
- 22:25Speaker 1: when you were younger of like working so hard to
- 22:28Speaker 1: get a girl and like doing pulling out all the
- 22:30Speaker 1: stops and then she five things into you and you're like,
- 22:36Speaker 1: daddle Dwell, have you ever been through that experience? On
- 22:38Speaker 1: either side of it? I, you know, I have kind
- 22:41Speaker 1: of a unique dating history because basically, you know, up
- 22:45Speaker 1: until last year and ten years before, and I wasn't
- 22:48Speaker 1: dating at all while I was on the road. I
- 22:50Speaker 1: had pretty much like just decided to skirt that whole
- 22:52Speaker 1: part of my life to avoid the whole leaving someone
- 22:56Speaker 1: at home on the road. Were you not hunging up
- 22:59Speaker 1: with lady even well, I mean there was, of course,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know, there was the occasional hook up and stuff
- 23:04Speaker 1: like that, but I mean in terms of like real
- 23:05Speaker 1: lasting relationships where you get to know a person enough
- 23:08Speaker 1: to even have that thought of like, oh, this isn't
- 23:11Speaker 1: what I wanted. I basically only started, you know, really
- 23:15Speaker 1: seriously dating like that last year. So I apologize for
- 23:21Speaker 1: not having a good story for this moment. No, you
- 23:24Speaker 1: don't have to have a story. I'm more interested in
- 23:25Speaker 1: the fact that you were celibate for ten years. But
- 23:27Speaker 1: I well, I thought the sole reason to be a
- 23:31Speaker 1: DJ was to go to mad big gass body invite
- 23:37Speaker 1: girls to the DJ boost pour them. I didn't want
- 23:42Speaker 1: to have a girlfriend waiting at home, so that temptation
- 23:47Speaker 1: wasn't something I had to avoid. That's a very mature
- 23:51Speaker 1: way to look at things. I think everybody wants a
- 23:54Speaker 1: girlfriend at some point. And you know what, Zach, I
- 23:57Speaker 1: probably did say things that were like, you know, but
- 23:59Speaker 1: when you look back at it now, compared to the
- 24:01Speaker 1: things that I did for to get to be with
- 24:05Speaker 1: Casey Cop, nothing compares to that, you know what I mean.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I remember I remember young I remember a young gallant
- 24:12Speaker 1: at Northwestern that I was really into, and I really
- 24:18Speaker 1: pursued her and and tried to court her, and she
- 24:23Speaker 1: was not interested, not interested, And then she finally was interested,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and I remember I think, like JD, I was like, oh,
- 24:31Speaker 1: now I'm scared. I don't know what it was about.
- 24:34Speaker 1: It was very immature. I mean, oh, I can't speak
- 24:36Speaker 1: to that for sure of being like listen. Sometimes you
- 24:40Speaker 1: think a person is just so like you're like, like
- 24:42Speaker 1: I tend to follow people where I'm like, what is this.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I've never seen this like personality type before. It's so
- 24:46Speaker 1: unique to me. It's so different and interesting, like that's
- 24:49Speaker 1: what really attracts me. And then sometimes you get up
- 24:52Speaker 1: close and you're like, oh, that's a sociopath. I'm not
- 24:56Speaker 1: supposed to be with that person, or you know, or
- 24:59Speaker 1: you're just like what was initially exciting is like, I
- 25:03Speaker 1: don't know, this is laborious. I don't want that in
- 25:05Speaker 1: a relationship. It's like I an't trying to be around
- 25:07Speaker 1: that person, but not like I want to beat that.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I think in my case, in hindsight, I was why
- 25:12Speaker 1: are you raising your hand? I have a question. I
- 25:13Speaker 1: don't want to interrupt anybody. Oh you're so so sweet.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Do you want to ask it now? Or do you
- 25:18Speaker 1: want me to continue my thought? Yeah? What's a sociopath?
- 25:21Speaker 1: I know what I know. I kind of know what
- 25:23Speaker 1: it is from no conscience, right someone someone who has
- 25:27Speaker 1: who has no conscience for their actions right now. Sociopaths
- 25:32Speaker 1: are usually murderers and stuff like that, aren't they They
- 25:36Speaker 1: can be, but it's not like it's specifically like all
- 25:39Speaker 1: sociopaths have the desire to murder. If you have no conscious,
- 25:42Speaker 1: there's like a good chance that you are comfortable with
- 25:45Speaker 1: taking a life, but not necessarily you don't die. You
- 25:49Speaker 1: can do horrible things and it's not keeping you up
- 25:51Speaker 1: at night. Right, Yeah, that's scar fuck. But I wanted
- 25:55Speaker 1: to say what I think with hindsight, I look back
- 25:58Speaker 1: and I was I think I was scared. I never
- 26:01Speaker 1: thought she would like me, and then she finally began
- 26:04Speaker 1: to be interested, and I think I young me kind
- 26:08Speaker 1: of panicked, like I don't even know if I don't know,
- 26:11Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell was going on. It
- 26:13Speaker 1: was weird. It was a weird thing. I look back
- 26:15Speaker 1: on it and go, why did I panic and like
- 26:17Speaker 1: sprint away? But anyway, it made me think of that
- 26:19Speaker 1: because that's what Jad's doing. He's clearly in love with Elliott, clearly,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and he Elliott. Sean has packed up all his things,
- 26:27Speaker 1: he's moving in with Elliott, and and Jad, you know,
- 26:31Speaker 1: has a scene that I think a lot of people
- 26:34Speaker 1: who love the show no, well, where he goes it
- 26:35Speaker 1: should have been me And she turns around and she
- 26:38Speaker 1: says what and he goes, Elliott, if I had a
- 26:41Speaker 1: chance to be with anyone else or just be on
- 26:43Speaker 1: the couch eating pizza watching a movie with you, I
- 26:46Speaker 1: would always choose you. And it really gets in her head.
- 26:50Speaker 1: And Sean comes over and he's packed up his U
- 26:52Speaker 1: haul and he's got everything and he's ready to move in,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and she's like, I can't do this. She comes to
- 26:56Speaker 1: Jad's house, the apartment, and she's got a pizza and
- 27:00Speaker 1: she falls into his arms and she says, let's do this,
- 27:03Speaker 1: and j D ends with him, internally screaming and going,
- 27:07Speaker 1: I can't do this. This is what I was talking
- 27:09Speaker 1: about a couple of episodes ago when I said this
- 27:12Speaker 1: is the moment when she has sex with him, that
- 27:15Speaker 1: Elliott knows I want to be with j D for
- 27:19Speaker 1: the rest of my life, but it's not time yet.
- 27:22Speaker 1: He's not ready. I'm not ready. And then so Sean
- 27:26Speaker 1: shows up and she's back with Sean and she's gonna
- 27:29Speaker 1: play house with this guy, knowing that this is the endgame,
- 27:33Speaker 1: but JD throws a monkey wrench in that. JD's like, Okay,
- 27:39Speaker 1: if I don't give a shit, if that's the end game,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I know there's something right now I want to explore that,
- 27:47Speaker 1: and he throws the monkey wrench by saying, you know,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I feel for you, and that makes her go crazy
- 27:53Speaker 1: inside and she decides, you know what, maybe he is ready.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Maybe I was wrong, Maybe I misjudged, Maybe I misjudged this.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Maybe it's time to break it off with Sean. And
- 28:04Speaker 1: she does and brow JD's not ready anymore. Yeah, I
- 28:09Speaker 1: mean they're both playing some pretty fucked up mind games
- 28:11Speaker 1: with each other, you know. Yeah, but don't you feel
- 28:16Speaker 1: like they know? Like this isn't a will they won't
- 28:18Speaker 1: they situation? This is a they're gunna you kind of
- 28:21Speaker 1: know they are, you know what I mean, Like there's
- 28:24Speaker 1: gonna be a happy ending. It's funny you say that,
- 28:26Speaker 1: because there's a really funny moment where the janitor says,
- 28:29Speaker 1: I mean, come on, it's not like you guys are
- 28:31Speaker 1: Ross and Rachel Rachel and j D goes who he
- 28:35Speaker 1: and he goes and he points to two Asian people
- 28:37Speaker 1: who have the exact hair of Ross and Rachel, and
- 28:40Speaker 1: he goes, yeah, you know, hold on, I wrote it down,
- 28:44Speaker 1: you know, uh, doctor Ross, I'm Rachel from Bookkeeping And
- 28:48Speaker 1: they have the exact same hairstyle as the as Ross
- 28:51Speaker 1: and Rachel, but they're Asian. That was funny. Yeah, I
- 28:54Speaker 1: love that. That was the first time scrubs is well,
- 28:59Speaker 1: other than that's the first time they've ever made in
- 29:01Speaker 1: a marsh to Prince right. Also, the apartment that Sean
- 29:04Speaker 1: and Elliott almost move into is the same layout as
- 29:07Speaker 1: Monica's apartment and Friends. Now, I don't know Monica's apartment
- 29:10Speaker 1: and Friends, but apparently it's the exact same way out. Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 1: did you know that Monica's apartment and Friends is freaking huge? Man?
- 29:16Speaker 1: There's really I think they mean in the bedroom. I'm
- 29:17Speaker 1: assuming they me in the bedroom. I don't know. That
- 29:21Speaker 1: thing is huge. Monica's apartment, by heart, that thing is huge.
- 29:25Speaker 1: That doesn't maybe they meant that apartment doesn't exist in
- 29:28Speaker 1: New York. Well it does, but it's probably twenty million dollars,
- 29:32Speaker 1: didn't they I didn't watch Friends, but they didn't. They
- 29:34Speaker 1: justify it, like she inherited it or something. They had
- 29:36Speaker 1: to justify why she had this giant apartment. But then
- 29:38Speaker 1: how did how did how did her brother's best friend
- 29:42Speaker 1: from college have the apartment across the hall from her? Though?
- 29:46Speaker 1: And why was that not? Why did that one not
- 29:48Speaker 1: have anywhere near the same style as the other one,
- 29:52Speaker 1: because they were the alley facing apartment in the back.
- 29:55Speaker 1: This is a street facing apartment with the view. It
- 29:58Speaker 1: was her grandma's apartment. She had it down so it
- 30:00Speaker 1: was rank controlled. But then how did Ross that apartment
- 30:05Speaker 1: is not rank controlled? How did Chandler and Joey? How
- 30:07Speaker 1: did Chandler and Joey get the apartment next right across
- 30:11Speaker 1: the hall from them? Then? If that's I think what happened.
- 30:13Speaker 1: As Grandma had been in the building for a long time,
- 30:15Speaker 1: Ross and Chandler moved in there, and then when Ross
- 30:18Speaker 1: moved out later, Joey moved in and took over. We'll
- 30:21Speaker 1: talk about doing this on our friend Let's say this
- 30:26Speaker 1: for our friends rewatch podcast. Do I mean that's a
- 30:30Speaker 1: funny idea? I was, I was day I was daydreaming
- 30:33Speaker 1: when we get through all nine seasons that we would
- 30:35Speaker 1: like do movies or pivot to something else. But I
- 30:39Speaker 1: actually think it's funny. But keep reviewing other shots. The
- 30:45Speaker 1: office would be the most funny, just because there's an
- 30:46Speaker 1: office podcast. They'll be done before us, I assume, and
- 30:49Speaker 1: we'll just following their footsteps. Let's just do it all
- 30:52Speaker 1: over again. Yeah, well with our with our version of it, right,
- 30:55Speaker 1: that's all right. We need to take a break, everybody,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and I have to pee, I have to Yearnate, I
- 30:59Speaker 1: have to drain, to drain my swamp. That's enough. We'll
- 31:04Speaker 1: be right back. Edward, Bat, Turk and j D play chess. No,
- 31:21Speaker 1: we've never played chess before, but that was fucking funny
- 31:24Speaker 1: as shit. Now, so there's the sequence to remind you
- 31:26Speaker 1: if you didn't watch it, where it ends with everyone's
- 31:29Speaker 1: saying everyone another person's name. They're like Turk, j D
- 31:32Speaker 1: and everyone's kind of calling each other. I read on
- 31:34Speaker 1: scrubs WICKI that it's an homage to a moment in
- 31:36Speaker 1: the Rocky Hard Picture Show, but I've never seen the
- 31:38Speaker 1: Rocky Hard Picture Show, so I don't know. But that
- 31:42Speaker 1: was funny when everyone's calling to their name, and then
- 31:43Speaker 1: it climaxes with with Turk saying checkmate and JD screams
- 31:48Speaker 1: and throws the checks the chessboard. Yeah. Well, there's also
- 31:52Speaker 1: the Whisper conversation where Danny here's like a bat. Yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 1: whales and bats because we're talking about who has sonar. Well,
- 32:00Speaker 1: that's where you that's right after that is where you
- 32:02Speaker 1: break up the Yeah, bats and whales, bats and whales.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That was funny. I like the tempo of that, like
- 32:09Speaker 1: dooooo everyone, very fast, very clever. Tara is really she's
- 32:14Speaker 1: on point in this episode. Man beautiful, she looks beautiful,
- 32:17Speaker 1: look beautiful, she looks some point. She's Bush. Is that
- 32:22Speaker 1: what it is? Well, she's beautiful, but she's also Bucksham.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Her doing yoga was very funny. My father used to
- 32:31Speaker 1: take two terms, like if you said beautiful and Bucksham,
- 32:33Speaker 1: he'd go beautiful and Buxham attorneys at law, and like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: no matter if anyone says two random words together, he
- 32:41Speaker 1: would then take those two words and say attorney's law.
- 32:43Speaker 1: And it was the stupidest dad joke, but I laughed
- 32:45Speaker 1: every time. I'm gonna steal that rest in peace, Harold.
- 32:50Speaker 1: My dad would love this podcast. He would be he
- 32:52Speaker 1: would be one of the one of the people listening
- 32:55Speaker 1: every week. Do you think he would write into Joel?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he would definitely. I'm not sure. I'm not
- 33:01Speaker 1: sure he'd be able to figure out how to write
- 33:03Speaker 1: it into Joel, but he would try. My dad used to.
- 33:06Speaker 1: My dad used to call me like once a month
- 33:08Speaker 1: and be like, hey, I need more, I need more
- 33:10Speaker 1: signed head shots, would be like Dad. I'd be like Dad,
- 33:14Speaker 1: there was no one in New Jersey that does not
- 33:17Speaker 1: have a signed head shot. I've done the state. The
- 33:20Speaker 1: state is covered. And he'd be like, no, no, No.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I met the most loving because he was the most gregarious,
- 33:26Speaker 1: friendly guy. Big No. I met the most wonderful couple
- 33:29Speaker 1: at the car Walsh And of course I told them
- 33:31Speaker 1: and they and I said, I said, Dad, look, I'm
- 33:37Speaker 1: gonna sign these things, but I'm not gonna write messages
- 33:40Speaker 1: to them all because like I have, I have like
- 33:42Speaker 1: other things to do. This is not my full time job,
- 33:45Speaker 1: is not making sure everyone in New Jersey has a
- 33:48Speaker 1: signed headshot with a message. And he goes, no, no,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you have to write the message. I go, Dad, here's
- 33:52Speaker 1: the thing. I'm gonna sign them, and I'm gonna send
- 33:56Speaker 1: you the sharpie and you can write whatever message you want.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. Well no, I'm not doing it either, Okay,
- 34:04Speaker 1: send me the sharper. Did you ever hear did you
- 34:09Speaker 1: ever see what he wrote? Did he God knows what
- 34:11Speaker 1: he wrote in my name? I knowing my father. They
- 34:15Speaker 1: were very, very long winded and beautiful. God, if you
- 34:19Speaker 1: signed photo from Zach's dad. Please write it if you
- 34:22Speaker 1: haven't signed photo, if you even signed photo from me
- 34:24Speaker 1: that was given to you by my father. It is
- 34:26Speaker 1: my signature, but the very long message that's neatly prized
- 34:30Speaker 1: is probably not for me. All right, what else, Donald,
- 34:37Speaker 1: Let's talk about some of this funny ship. Richard Kind
- 34:39Speaker 1: is back. He's hilarious. He's hilarious. He has one of
- 34:41Speaker 1: the best turns in the history of turns with the curtain.
- 34:44Speaker 1: The curtain. He's like, I want to know everything about me,
- 34:50Speaker 1: and there's nothing you can say to make me change
- 34:54Speaker 1: my mind. Oh, it turns out insurance won't pay for this.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Good day, sir. He closes the curtain. They must be
- 35:02Speaker 1: frantically changing him behind the curtain, because when the curtain
- 35:07Speaker 1: rips open, he's already got his streets. Oh my god,
- 35:12Speaker 1: there's nothing that man can say that doesn't make me laugh. Dude,
- 35:16Speaker 1: it was hilarious. Is that Casey wandered into the room
- 35:19Speaker 1: and that scene happened and she goes, Oh, that guy's
- 35:21Speaker 1: really funny, and then it's funny. He's one of these people.
- 35:24Speaker 1: He's one of these people. Like Will Ferrell is another
- 35:26Speaker 1: example where you just start giggling when you look at them,
- 35:29Speaker 1: like you know, you know they're gonna say something that's
- 35:32Speaker 1: gonna make you giggle. I remember I remember seeing the
- 35:35Speaker 1: Anchorman trailer in a movie theater and Will Farrell came
- 35:39Speaker 1: up with his look an Anchorman, and the whole audience
- 35:41Speaker 1: just started laughing. And he hadn't said a word yet.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I mean, obviously the costume and look was funny, but
- 35:47Speaker 1: he hadn't said a word yet. Everyone was. And so
- 35:49Speaker 1: there's certain people that have that Richart Kind has that
- 35:51Speaker 1: you look at him and you just start You already
- 35:53Speaker 1: are primed to laugh. So funny. I love that, But
- 36:00Speaker 1: we really got to have him on. Joel, are you
- 36:02Speaker 1: working on Richard Kind? I think he's one more episode.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Maybe, well, Joel, will you will you? Bill?
- 36:08Speaker 1: Bill Lawrence probably has a contact for him, but I'd
- 36:11Speaker 1: love to have him on and talk about lots of things.
- 36:14Speaker 1: How about definitely how about the kid with the grown
- 36:17Speaker 1: man voice? Richard Wells. Yeah, we should say that this
- 36:20Speaker 1: episode is directed by Richard Wells, who was our first
- 36:23Speaker 1: assistant director. Are one of our best first assistant directors
- 36:26Speaker 1: in the whole run of the show. Great Man he
- 36:29Speaker 1: was our first first assistant director. Yes, for those of
- 36:32Speaker 1: you aren't in the business, the first assistant director is
- 36:35Speaker 1: the is the crew member who's kind of like a
- 36:37Speaker 1: stage manager in theater. He's he's calling out okay, you know,
- 36:41Speaker 1: is the loud voice that's organizing everything and telling everyone
- 36:44Speaker 1: we gotta go and here we go and you go
- 36:46Speaker 1: over there. Guy. He also needs to be a bad guy.
- 36:48Speaker 1: He's the he's a traffic cop, if you will. It's
- 36:50Speaker 1: a very hard job, a very stressful job. They stereotypically
- 36:54Speaker 1: die early because of the amount of stress. No I
- 36:58Speaker 1: know that because they're members of the same guild I'm
- 37:01Speaker 1: in and the d GA. I don't know. Rumor has
- 37:04Speaker 1: it we have great insurance because first ads are so
- 37:06Speaker 1: stressed and they die early. Oh my god, I don't
- 37:09Speaker 1: know if that's true. Okay, that's true. Anyway, it's a
- 37:13Speaker 1: very stressful job. And Richard Wells was very good at it.
- 37:16Speaker 1: And this is his first episode actually directing the show.
- 37:20Speaker 1: And he is a very deep voice, and so he's
- 37:22Speaker 1: the voice of the child that has a deep voice
- 37:25Speaker 1: in this episode. Very funny too. Now, this is one
- 37:29Speaker 1: of I think the fans favorite flashbacks in nine years. Everybody,
- 37:34Speaker 1: this is the fantasy where Donald and excuse me, this
- 37:38Speaker 1: is the fantasy where Turke in JD drive five hours
- 37:41Speaker 1: to see Michael Jordan play and forget tickets and Turk
- 37:44Speaker 1: pulls out his hair. Yeah, we went five hundred miles
- 37:50Speaker 1: because we got the tickey. I was I supposed to
- 37:55Speaker 1: bring the tickets or the sandwiches. Yeah, and we both
- 37:58Speaker 1: hold up the sandwich bags and then then I pulled out.
- 38:01Speaker 1: You scream and pull out your your high top fade,
- 38:04Speaker 1: and then JD goes to pick up the hair from
- 38:07Speaker 1: the floor and turks lad. It's so funny, man, it's
- 38:13Speaker 1: so funny. I love how you're wearing like an off
- 38:15Speaker 1: brand twenty three jersey because we couldn't license to Michael
- 38:18Speaker 1: Jordan jersey. But you know exactly what it is when
- 38:21Speaker 1: it's the number twenty three, I know it's either Michael
- 38:24Speaker 1: Jordan or who Kobe? No, who else? You only had one?
- 38:31Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know who I wasn't Magic
- 38:35Speaker 1: Johnson thirty five? No, man, what was Magic Johnson? Thirty two?
- 38:40Speaker 1: Thirty something? Magic Johnson was thirty two two? All right, Well,
- 38:47Speaker 1: Michael Jordan was twenty three. Lebron James is twenty three.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant was eight and twenty four. Now, why is
- 38:59Speaker 1: Lebron on taking Jordan's number? Isn't it? Isn't that it
- 39:02Speaker 1: was his number since he was a kid. He always
- 39:06Speaker 1: but he had as a kid because a Jordan, right,
- 39:08Speaker 1: But he was always the Jordan on the team like
- 39:11Speaker 1: Lebron James was always the best player on the team.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Here's something I don't know the answer to, and a
- 39:15Speaker 1: lot of my non sports loving listeners agree they want
- 39:18Speaker 1: to know the answer to this question. A lot of
- 39:20Speaker 1: people want to know it right now. How do you
- 39:23Speaker 1: get assigned a number as a NBA player? You pick
- 39:27Speaker 1: a number? You can pick any number. Yeah, yeah, as
- 39:31Speaker 1: long as it's not taken. You know, some people some yo,
- 39:34Speaker 1: some people have numbers and you know, Star will come
- 39:38Speaker 1: to the team and be like, yo, let me get
- 39:40Speaker 1: that number and and the and the person who has
- 39:46Speaker 1: the number has the opportunity to say no or play
- 39:50Speaker 1: me for it or unfor Now do you do you
- 39:54Speaker 1: if you change teams, does your number come with you?
- 39:58Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. If you go to a team,
- 40:00Speaker 1: like let's say you were on the Lakers and you
- 40:02Speaker 1: were wearing the number five, and you go to the uh,
- 40:08Speaker 1: you know, the Miami Heat and you and somebody else
- 40:13Speaker 1: is wearing the number five, and you're like, yo, that's
- 40:15Speaker 1: my number, and I'm more famous, I'm the superstar. The
- 40:19Speaker 1: person has the opportunity to say, get the fuck out
- 40:21Speaker 1: of here, or play me for it, or you know
- 40:24Speaker 1: what I mean. You know, if I say, a famous player,
- 40:29Speaker 1: do you know their number? Maybe go ahead? Isaiah Washington
- 40:34Speaker 1: Isaiah Washington as an actor, I'm sorry, I didn't. I
- 40:39Speaker 1: mean Isaiah Thomas, Thomas good To, Kim Bay matumbof Kim
- 40:52Speaker 1: Bay Matumbo Matumbo, Mike Jiminski. I don't know Mike jiminsk
- 40:56Speaker 1: Daryl Dawkins, Oh should I should know? This? Forty two? Right?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Was Dald Jerald Dawkins is number one, thirty four, thirty four, No,
- 41:04Speaker 1: forty two, something like that, thirty four or forty two
- 41:07Speaker 1: to thirty four, Charles Barkley, Darylds Dawkins, fifty three, forty
- 41:11Speaker 1: five and fifty. Wow, I was way off. Muggsy Malone. No,
- 41:17Speaker 1: Muggsy Bogues, You mean, yeah, Muggsy Bogues. He was the
- 41:20Speaker 1: little guy, right, wasn't wasn't wasn't he little yeah, I
- 41:25Speaker 1: think it's zero zero five three. It's either zero or
- 41:30Speaker 1: one zero? Is he the shortest player to ever be
- 41:34Speaker 1: that good? It was one or it was zero? Was
- 41:37Speaker 1: seeing one on the Charlotte team? Yeah? Donald on Charlotte,
- 41:46Speaker 1: he played with a lins on morning number thirty three.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I was there ever a player that was that short
- 41:50Speaker 1: and that good. I think Nate Robinson is might might
- 41:54Speaker 1: be close to that height. Or he's five three. You
- 41:58Speaker 1: said no robs five nine? Yeah, no, no, no, I
- 42:01Speaker 1: don't think so. Spud webs five seven, spud web ten
- 42:05Speaker 1: no seven seven seven seven seven five seven, all right,
- 42:10Speaker 1: but it is his number seven four. I'm so way off,
- 42:14Speaker 1: all right off? Yeah, kids, stay away from the weed?
- 42:17Speaker 1: Is the is the call her? Really stay away from
- 42:19Speaker 1: the week, because I don't know what basketball players were
- 42:22Speaker 1: saying short term, you're fucking special pill you take from memory?
- 42:26Speaker 1: Ain't working on basketball numbers. This is over twenty years ago,
- 42:31Speaker 1: Dick face saying penis breath that maybe you should do
- 42:35Speaker 1: you remember do you remember what you're a history teacher
- 42:38Speaker 1: taught you? On December uh ninth? Yeah, she famously said,
- 42:45Speaker 1: Donald Dick. No, she famously said. She famously said, sucking asshole, Zach, Yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 1: you know, said chug a bag of dicks. All right,
- 42:54Speaker 1: let's really because that what you said, chuck a bag
- 42:56Speaker 1: of dicks. I'll never forget missus Wexstein, She said, tell
- 42:59Speaker 1: Don in the future to chug balls. My science teacher
- 43:04Speaker 1: told me to stick a stethoscope up your motherfucking ass.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah right, yeah. A geography teacher said, tell Donald. Well, yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 1: my geography teacher told me to tell Zach, here's a globe.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Put it up his ass. Here's a globe. All right,
- 43:24Speaker 1: here's a globe. My geography teacher faces. He said, here's
- 43:29Speaker 1: a globe. All right, call him in. We'll go to
- 43:32Speaker 1: break break. You've got the two dudes from the Muppets
- 43:53Speaker 1: on your wall. Do you know their name? Donald? Do
- 43:54Speaker 1: you know their names? The old guys in the balcony? Wait? Wait, listeners,
- 44:01Speaker 1: if you're listening, you probably know the names of the
- 44:03Speaker 1: two What are the names men in the bottom? You
- 44:06Speaker 1: know exact, what are the names? But it's something like
- 44:09Speaker 1: Steinway and Mortimer or something. You're close, but you got
- 44:13Speaker 1: it wrong, you know, Come on, come down. We have
- 44:17Speaker 1: a fucking guest here. Asshole Craig. I don't know, but
- 44:20Speaker 1: I know it's something like Mortimer and Steinberg. It's Statler
- 44:25Speaker 1: and Waldorf. Oh, Statler and Waldorf. Close. Don't worry, they're
- 44:28Speaker 1: only judging me, don't you guys? Do whatever you gotta
- 44:30Speaker 1: do now, are you. That's an awesome photograph, you guys.
- 44:34Speaker 1: He has like a giant Statler and Waldorf photograph on
- 44:37Speaker 1: his wall. It looks like they're like your long lost relatives. Yes,
- 44:42Speaker 1: where did you get that? That's that's cool. I've never
- 44:44Speaker 1: seen that. I actually I had it made for I
- 44:47Speaker 1: used to own a live music run. You had set
- 44:49Speaker 1: a barber for twenty years and uh, and the idea
- 44:52Speaker 1: was to have them. The original idea was could build
- 44:54Speaker 1: out their platform and have the actual muppets sitting there
- 44:56Speaker 1: looking down the stage. That's awesome, but you'd be shocked
- 44:58Speaker 1: how hard it is to get those up. It's made
- 45:00Speaker 1: so passed on that found this picture, blew it up
- 45:03Speaker 1: and hung it up literally right where they would be
- 45:05Speaker 1: sitting looking down on everything. That's cool. That's great, that's cool.
- 45:08Speaker 1: That's a clever idea. But yet to have like Muppets
- 45:10Speaker 1: recreated was probably a steep price. Yes, it wasn't as
- 45:14Speaker 1: affordable as I would have hoped. Yeah, were you gonna
- 45:16Speaker 1: were they gonna be like actual people holding, you know,
- 45:19Speaker 1: with their hands up the muppets asses talking for the muppets.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no no, I'm just gonna put them
- 45:23Speaker 1: like press there. Yeah, that's very interesting. That's very interesting
- 45:27Speaker 1: theater if you did do that, though, you know what,
- 45:29Speaker 1: I have some guy whose only job it is is
- 45:31Speaker 1: to work the puppets and makes it nice. That's it, right, Yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 1: would be good, gig cool'd be cool. All right? Are
- 45:38Speaker 1: you calling from Santa Barbara? I actually in Duelton, which
- 45:41Speaker 1: is just up one on one from Santa Barbara. But yeah,
- 45:43Speaker 1: I've lived in Santa bar from twenty five years. That's
- 45:46Speaker 1: a beautiful place to live, just up the freeway from
- 45:48Speaker 1: you guys. I know, I know, but you don't have
- 45:51Speaker 1: any of this Hollywood Michigas. All you have is the
- 45:53Speaker 1: beach and beautiful weather and happy people. Take it. I
- 45:57Speaker 1: will take it. So it's so beautiful there. It's so far.
- 46:03Speaker 1: It's far away from from my store, like an hour's
- 46:06Speaker 1: an hour and a half. Right, Yeah, there's really no
- 46:08Speaker 1: traffic these days, so come on, not that far. You
- 46:11Speaker 1: have a great zoo. The zoo is amazing and it's
- 46:13Speaker 1: really interesting that. I mean, some people don't like zoos.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I guess I shouldn't. I think, I think you can.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I realized I just stepped in. I stepped in some
- 46:22Speaker 1: doodo when I said that no zoo. There's there's a
- 46:25Speaker 1: fraction of the audience and be like, fuck Donald and
- 46:27Speaker 1: his zoos. But they're not going to turn off the podcast.
- 46:33Speaker 1: But there's zoo is amazing. And you know these animals
- 46:35Speaker 1: are you know people are They donate a lot of
- 46:39Speaker 1: money to the animals and stuff to keep them healthy.
- 46:43Speaker 1: How did the animals store the money? Well, they keep
- 46:46Speaker 1: it in a little vault. They donate money to the animals. Yeah.
- 46:54Speaker 1: The problems it's a big vault. They swim, They swim
- 46:58Speaker 1: in it. Actually, the only problem is getting the lions out.
- 47:01Speaker 1: One of the problems for the Santa Robber Zoo is
- 47:03Speaker 1: how to store all of the money that the animals
- 47:05Speaker 1: have saved. Craig, what do you do in Santa Barbara? Uh? Well,
- 47:09Speaker 1: as of late, not much right. I was part of
- 47:12Speaker 1: the one of the industries that got hit, which was
- 47:15Speaker 1: the I was a touring sound engineer and tour manager
- 47:18Speaker 1: for a lot of bands that went around the globe,
- 47:20Speaker 1: and of course that industry has been come to a
- 47:23Speaker 1: screen bands that we would know about that we could say, wow,
- 47:26Speaker 1: he's cool. Maybe I don't know. I don't know. I mean,
- 47:29Speaker 1: I know the kind of music you guys listened to,
- 47:30Speaker 1: and I'm not really sure exactly just complete the gangster Well,
- 47:35Speaker 1: we had a lot of actually gangster rap guys come
- 47:37Speaker 1: from the club that I had in Santa Barbara, Like
- 47:39Speaker 1: we had most of Wu Chang Klan coming individually, Too
- 47:41Speaker 1: Short and all those guys. It was just great. We've
- 47:43Speaker 1: kind of launched me into going out and touring with
- 47:46Speaker 1: bands like Flogging Molly and Frank Turner and Rise Against
- 47:50Speaker 1: and stuff like that, Luceerro bands all in those nature.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Do you like life on the road as a as
- 47:56Speaker 1: a tour manager? It must be fin I love it.
- 47:58Speaker 1: You just wake up in a different city every day
- 48:00Speaker 1: and you just kind of put the especially sound engineering
- 48:02Speaker 1: where you just kind of get to put the puzzle
- 48:04Speaker 1: together and uh and uh and and for all to
- 48:07Speaker 1: enjoy and it's uh. I remember it was one of
- 48:09Speaker 1: those things about about tourmating, because like there's a study
- 48:11Speaker 1: that was done that said the short of the distance
- 48:13Speaker 1: between what you do and the results of what you do,
- 48:17Speaker 1: the happier you tend to be for people tend to
- 48:19Speaker 1: be in general. And it definitely held true for me
- 48:22Speaker 1: for for sound engineering and doing that kind of stuff
- 48:24Speaker 1: because you, I mean, you do it, you see and
- 48:26Speaker 1: I'm sure for you guys acting and performing, you get
- 48:28Speaker 1: immediate feedback. You know, well, we only get immediate feedback.
- 48:30Speaker 1: We're doing a play. When you said that you should think,
- 48:33Speaker 1: it made me think. And Donald can I'm sure a
- 48:35Speaker 1: test because he's done theater two to that experience where
- 48:39Speaker 1: it is so gratifying when when people like the play,
- 48:42Speaker 1: whereas when we do a film, for example, it's a
- 48:45Speaker 1: year before we know if anyone loves or hates it.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Right now, do you have do you have kids? You
- 48:50Speaker 1: don't have kids? No? No, no kids. It's a hard life.
- 48:53Speaker 1: I was about to say, no kids. It's it's it's
- 48:56Speaker 1: really difficult. For a lot of my friends that do it,
- 48:58Speaker 1: they have families. It just tears them apart being away
- 49:00Speaker 1: from their family. Now, when you get into a new venue,
- 49:04Speaker 1: I've never asked the sound engineer this. The mixing board
- 49:07Speaker 1: and each venue is different, right, So you have to
- 49:09Speaker 1: know a wide array of of mixing boards. Well, yes
- 49:14Speaker 1: and no. The basic principles of mixing. I'm sure Dane
- 49:17Speaker 1: can test this, and they're all basically the same. But
- 49:19Speaker 1: what happened was I was fortunate enough to learn sound
- 49:21Speaker 1: engineering on an analog board, and then when it all
- 49:24Speaker 1: went to digital, what happened was you were able to
- 49:27Speaker 1: save your files and then you can show up so
- 49:29Speaker 1: if they have like the Midas boarding, you can plug
- 49:30Speaker 1: it in, your show pops right up. It's kind of
- 49:32Speaker 1: cheating in my opinion, and amazing. Sorry, slowdown, because there's
- 49:37Speaker 1: a lot of people that listening that don't have anything
- 49:39Speaker 1: to do with entertainment business and they I just want
- 49:43Speaker 1: them to know that you're What you're saying is that
- 49:45Speaker 1: the mixing boards of these venues have are are often
- 49:48Speaker 1: one of a few brands. You can show up and
- 49:51Speaker 1: just put your file in and all your show pops up.
- 49:54Speaker 1: If you've been on that board in the past, it
- 49:57Speaker 1: will recognize that file and we'll bring it up in
- 49:59Speaker 1: your china. This will be there. We'll save you a
- 50:01Speaker 1: ton of time for sound check and uh and just
- 50:04Speaker 1: get the show going a lot faster. But you're right,
- 50:06Speaker 1: there are different boards and all the different venues. That's
- 50:08Speaker 1: why you your tour manager. As courmator, you would advance
- 50:10Speaker 1: the show, figure out what you're walking into, so you know,
- 50:12Speaker 1: if you have to to get all of this, you'd
- 50:16Speaker 1: have to know and advance what you're walking into. There's
- 50:18Speaker 1: no way you could just yell, I show up to
- 50:20Speaker 1: every venue, assuming I'm going to build it from scratch.
- 50:22Speaker 1: If it's sportunate enough where they already have a board
- 50:25Speaker 1: I've been on, then I'm just like, I'm just save
- 50:27Speaker 1: myself three hours plug that thing, Edward, But don't you
- 50:29Speaker 1: don't you know ahead of time this venue has this board, Yes, absolutely,
- 50:33Speaker 1: and the size venues we were doing, which is like
- 50:35Speaker 1: a lot of the like in England, a lot of
- 50:37Speaker 1: the O two academies are all built a lot very
- 50:39Speaker 1: much the same. Uh, and so you can just go
- 50:41Speaker 1: from one academy the next and you're good to go.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I think that would be a really fun job mixing,
- 50:45Speaker 1: mixing live acts. I think I love it. I wouldn't
- 50:48Speaker 1: trade it for anything. It's uh, listen, it's like it's
- 50:51Speaker 1: it's been a long time so I've been able to
- 50:53Speaker 1: get behind one. What happens when you hate the band? Yeah,
- 50:55Speaker 1: about to say you ever leave quickly because I couldn't
- 50:59Speaker 1: do it. I couldn't do it no matter what the check.
- 51:01Speaker 1: I mean, obviously, if you have responsibilities, you take the check.
- 51:04Speaker 1: But I'm saying I would imagine be a nightmare if
- 51:06Speaker 1: you hated the music. Yes, Well, I was lucky enough
- 51:09Speaker 1: to kind of pick and choose the bands that I
- 51:11Speaker 1: wanted to work with, and I met a lot of
- 51:12Speaker 1: them having come through my club, and uh, you know
- 51:15Speaker 1: so then I, after hearing their center and enjoined their
- 51:17Speaker 1: music or not enjoined their music. Even more importantly for me,
- 51:20Speaker 1: it joined them as people would would be a big
- 51:23Speaker 1: indicator whether or not I would agree to tour with
- 51:26Speaker 1: these guys. Daniel, you look like you have a question.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I called you, Craig. What's the name of your club?
- 51:32Speaker 1: I was called It was actually named after a Eddie
- 51:34Speaker 1: Murphy character. We could share a fondness for everything that
- 51:37Speaker 1: guy did on Saray Live, and it was called Velvet Jones. Na,
- 51:40Speaker 1: I'm Velvet Jones. Velvet to be at home exactly, And
- 51:45Speaker 1: so through that we did that and we had to
- 51:47Speaker 1: close our day. When I knew I had been kicked
- 51:50Speaker 1: in the butt by love exactly. I knew you guys
- 51:54Speaker 1: would be right up there, would piece that one together
- 51:56Speaker 1: quick when we love Eddie and we love Eddie O
- 51:59Speaker 1: SNL and all those great characters. Wasn't only on that
- 52:03Speaker 1: show for like a season and a half? Is that
- 52:05Speaker 1: how long it was? That it was real show you
- 52:08Speaker 1: can watch if you're listening and you haven't seen it.
- 52:11Speaker 1: They have Eddie Murphy's greatest hits on us. Yeah, but
- 52:13Speaker 1: it changed, man. The first one was the best one
- 52:16Speaker 1: when it originally came out. It was a certain set
- 52:19Speaker 1: of skits and it was the best one. And then
- 52:21Speaker 1: the best of Eddie Murphy said in that live changed
- 52:24Speaker 1: a bit. But the first one I'm talking about one
- 52:26Speaker 1: I watched like when you were a kid. Yeah, right,
- 52:29Speaker 1: when you were a kid. That's the one. Yeah, don't
- 52:33Speaker 1: get the one that came out after that isn't the
- 52:35Speaker 1: same thing. And you can't find the original one anymore
- 52:38Speaker 1: with all of those sketches. Yeah, you can't find that
- 52:41Speaker 1: one anymore. If you could, you could try to. I've
- 52:43Speaker 1: had a arg on for four years, dude. See, we
- 52:48Speaker 1: weren't we weren't old enough to be watching SNL. No
- 52:51Speaker 1: I knew, I knew who Eddie Murphy was at a
- 52:53Speaker 1: very young age. But you were watching Eddie Live on SNL.
- 52:58Speaker 1: I wasn't no, but my parents, my parents, at least
- 53:00Speaker 1: my parents loved Eddie Murphy so much. People were talking, dude.
- 53:04Speaker 1: It was New York. I grew up in New York City,
- 53:06Speaker 1: forty third ninth Avenue. I was very close to uh,
- 53:11Speaker 1: thirty Rock, right, that's what it is, thirty Rockfeller Center.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I was very close to it. Eddie Murphy was a
- 53:18Speaker 1: big thing when he hit Saturday Night Live. Everybody knew
- 53:22Speaker 1: who he was. I remember from this town. I remember,
- 53:25Speaker 1: I remember Pete. I remember being like the black guy
- 53:27Speaker 1: on Saturday Night Live. It's the funniest motherfucker in the
- 53:31Speaker 1: you know what I mean? And not ever even seeing
- 53:32Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live and my parents one night being like, yo,
- 53:35Speaker 1: you want to stay up and watch it? Yeah, and
- 53:38Speaker 1: getting to see him do mister Robinson, it's a beautiful
- 53:41Speaker 1: day in the name dude. I couldn't believe it, man,
- 53:44Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it was Can you spell sucket? Do
- 53:47Speaker 1: you know when it's scumbuckets? I bet you do. He
- 53:53Speaker 1: do the thing where he goes this is how you
- 53:55Speaker 1: answered the door. My neighbor. This is how you answered
- 53:57Speaker 1: This is how you answered the door in my neighborhood.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Boy and girls? Is it? Oh? Man? I want to
- 54:08Speaker 1: be friends with Eddie? Oh dude. I would hang out
- 54:13Speaker 1: with him, man, you know what? Man? There were times
- 54:15Speaker 1: where I felt like maybe I should say something like yo, ed,
- 54:19Speaker 1: can we hang out? But I was always gonna I
- 54:23Speaker 1: And there have been times where I've hung out where
- 54:24Speaker 1: I've been around him and I could have said things
- 54:26Speaker 1: like that, and I was just so afraid because he
- 54:28Speaker 1: is Eddie Murphy and the last thing I wanted to
- 54:31Speaker 1: be a stand. I don't want to be a stand
- 54:33Speaker 1: to Eddie Murphy, but I really want to be a
- 54:34Speaker 1: stand because all of the comedy that I freaking do
- 54:38Speaker 1: now really comes it stems from him, Him and Richard Pryor.
- 54:43Speaker 1: When I was you know what I mean, It's like, yeah, delirious.
- 54:47Speaker 1: It's never seen delirious, not just a delirious. Delirious was
- 54:52Speaker 1: the jam. You could say raw because it's not PC anymore,
- 54:54Speaker 1: but Raw was freaking delirious. When I saw delirious, I
- 54:59Speaker 1: don't know what year I was able to see it,
- 55:01Speaker 1: it was. I definitely was young, and I knew I
- 55:04Speaker 1: shouldn't be watching it because it was so r rated,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but I thought it was the funniest thing I've ever
- 55:09Speaker 1: seen in my life. Raw is one of them. Fu
- 55:11Speaker 1: fou half of that half I want half. I want
- 55:16Speaker 1: what's coming to me. That shit is one of the
- 55:18Speaker 1: funniest thing. I don't know. Last week he was butt
- 55:20Speaker 1: nicking on a zebra. That shit is one of the
- 55:22Speaker 1: funniest thing, dude. I'm give what you say, man, Raw
- 55:26Speaker 1: is one of the funniest. Oh my gosh, man, Eddie Eddie,
- 55:32Speaker 1: Oh my god, let's focus African people that are like
- 55:35Speaker 1: fuck Eddie Murphy, Man Eddie, suck mynd dick Eddie. Let's
- 55:41Speaker 1: focus Craig. What's your question for us? I have a
- 55:44Speaker 1: couple of questions, and I also have some if we
- 55:46Speaker 1: have times, some trivia for you guys. All right, but yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 1: I'd like to start out just like you know, throughout
- 55:51Speaker 1: this podcast and to got you guys know, I've been
- 55:54Speaker 1: trying to binge listen to this. I'm only halfway through
- 55:56Speaker 1: season two of the podcast, so if the question has
- 55:58Speaker 1: already been asked, forgive me. But I would keep having
- 56:01Speaker 1: questions while I was listening, and you guys later ask
- 56:03Speaker 1: them where they be said that they wouldn't be no
- 56:05Speaker 1: longer possible and when do you guys first came out
- 56:07Speaker 1: of the jingle, I thought, how great, First of all,
- 56:09Speaker 1: outstanding jingle. It you know, puts a pep in my
- 56:11Speaker 1: step after on my heart, but I thought how great
- 56:13Speaker 1: it would be to have maybe Sam Lloyd's band do
- 56:15Speaker 1: a cup a version of it. And then, of course,
- 56:17Speaker 1: unfortunately he passed away like okay, well maybe they could
- 56:20Speaker 1: do one without Sam as a as an all right, yeah,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but and then moving on to them after that, week
- 56:28Speaker 1: after week, uh, you know, Donald will be given Zach
- 56:31Speaker 1: given you such a hard time about having never seen
- 56:33Speaker 1: remember the Titans. And so through my debt work of
- 56:36Speaker 1: crew friends, I was trying to quarterback getting word of
- 56:38Speaker 1: Denzel's camp to send you like a cameo style video
- 56:40Speaker 1: like asked begging you to watch the movie. I don't think.
- 56:44Speaker 1: I don't think Denzel does cameo. No, he's not on camp.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Well no, I mean through the people that I work
- 56:47Speaker 1: with to get to him, just to benze the video.
- 56:50Speaker 1: But but my question is, is uh for Zach is
- 56:56Speaker 1: a it's a butterfly effect question? Do you think that
- 56:59Speaker 1: had you seen remember the Titans before you had cast
- 57:01Speaker 1: starting state you would have given Donald the role. No,
- 57:06Speaker 1: because I think Donald's hilarious, But I think I was
- 57:12Speaker 1: howd to two if you were trying to be as
- 57:14Speaker 1: far away from Scrubs as I was. I was. I,
- 57:16Speaker 1: of course I was, with my first big opportunity to
- 57:19Speaker 1: act slash directing something. I you know, I didn't want
- 57:24Speaker 1: to be pigeonholed in Scrubs and only be thought of
- 57:26Speaker 1: as the guy from Scrubs. So when I got my
- 57:29Speaker 1: my first big gig separate from Scrubs, I didn't then
- 57:32Speaker 1: want to cast my best friend as as though as
- 57:34Speaker 1: the guy in the movie, because I was trying to
- 57:36Speaker 1: separate the two. And you know, I also pictured that
- 57:42Speaker 1: character that method Man played just you know, different from Donald, like,
- 57:46Speaker 1: you know, more of a hard fucking you break my heart.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I know you can play. I'm an actor. Here's the thing,
- 57:54Speaker 1: here's the thing. You know what, this this has followed
- 57:56Speaker 1: me my whole career, and it's it's funny that this
- 58:00Speaker 1: is the reason why Zach did it. When I was
- 58:02Speaker 1: a kid, I was up for Bronxtail or Bronxtail, right,
- 58:05Speaker 1: And I remember de Niro had me do the table read.
- 58:11Speaker 1: I got to meet everybody from the freaking from from
- 58:14Speaker 1: Goodfellas pretty much was there. I was like, holy shit,
- 58:17Speaker 1: it's the cash from Goodfellas here, you know pretty much.
- 58:20Speaker 1: I did the table read and then we're auditioning people
- 58:23Speaker 1: for Collogio and I freaking, uh, you know, do the
- 58:31Speaker 1: readings with these kids and I'm thinking I'm a shoeing
- 58:33Speaker 1: for the part. Do you know what fucking de Niro's
- 58:36Speaker 1: note was and why I didn't get the role. He
- 58:38Speaker 1: was like, he's too much of a Cosby kid, meaning
- 58:41Speaker 1: I was too much like one of the Lugstables. I
- 58:43Speaker 1: was too much like one of the Huxtables. So when
- 58:45Speaker 1: this is something that has followed me my whole career.
- 58:49Speaker 1: This is why I probably don't do a lot of
- 58:51Speaker 1: action movies. This is probably why I don't, you know,
- 58:54Speaker 1: because I'm too much of a nice guy and I'm
- 58:57Speaker 1: not hard enough. Just like I said, So you know what, Zach,
- 59:01Speaker 1: fuck you man, fuck you and fuck anybody who thinks
- 59:04Speaker 1: like you man, buck all, y'all, fuck you, fuck you
- 59:08Speaker 1: and fuck you all right, god bless, thanks thanks a lot, Crais,
- 59:16Speaker 1: Oh no, we'll be back. Uh. He probably has to
- 59:21Speaker 1: take a hit of weed about that. That was not
- 59:25Speaker 1: my intention to look I was going for. I couldn't
- 59:35Speaker 1: stay away, Okay, I want to say that the same
- 59:39Speaker 1: goes for myself. I there's roles I wouldn't care. I'm
- 59:43Speaker 1: not gonna if I was making a movie with with
- 59:46Speaker 1: a mob's boss, I'm not gonna cast myself as the
- 59:49Speaker 1: mob boss. Donald. You have decades of being a likable
- 59:54Speaker 1: guy that people love, who's comedic. Of course you could
- 59:58Speaker 1: play hard, of course you could play a tough guy.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: But there's so many other actors that that comes as
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: naturally to them as you being lovable and likable is
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I don't know why I wouldn't hire them, or I
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: don't know why someone who was casting. But don't you
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: think the same thing goes for me? No one's gonna
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: cast me is the fucking assassin. You don't know that
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: you've never put yourself in those shoes. You've never ever
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: fucking walked that walked to to see if you could
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: play that, So you don't know what the fuck you
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: know what I mean, You've never been given that opportunity.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: If somebody, if you had the opportunity and you failed, miserably.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Then I could totally understand. I totally. I feel like
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: if I got the audition to play like a tough
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Italian gangster, I would say this isn't no. But that's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: bullshit because there's no work. There's not a lot of
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: work when it comes to the audition part the audition
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: for it. Yeah, you're gonna go and you're gonna give
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: the best version of that that you possibly can. But
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: you're not freaking opening up the book on the character.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: You're not creating something, you're not diving in. You're not
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: doing what you did when you you know, when you
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: worked with de Niro, You're not doing that stuff. You're
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: for an audition. You never know what it is that
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: you're gonna that you're able to reach until you've given
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the opportunity. So how would you how would you know how?
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: That's the that's the that's the freaking judging a book
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: by its cover shit that a lot of Hollywood does.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: And there's the reason why a lot of actors are
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: pigeonholed because people are like, you know what, he can
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: only play this character, but you don't know that. You
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: haven't given the person another I think the blessing, and
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: the curse that goes with the blessing of being on
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: a show for a decade is that you do get
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: pigeonholed a bit for better for worse. It's true, It's honest.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: It's people do go, oh my god, that's the funny, gregarious, charming,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: lovable guy. I'm not saying people can't break at it
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: out of course they do. Look at Brian Cranston. He
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: was the lovable dad on Malcolm in the Middle. But
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: but it's a challenge, and I'm i'm I'm sorry if no,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I'm not, I'm being I'm being facetious when i'm I'm
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: I'm being funny because obviously because I've actually something that's upset,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: but I've actually no, but I've actually been given opportunities
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: to do things like that, and I think I've done
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: a pretty good job or I've had a good time
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: creating whatever character it was that I did when making
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: set opportunities. But uh my, my, my, My point is
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: is that thinking like that isn't going to get anybody,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: and it's not gonna get you anywhere. So to say
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: you can't play that, you don't think anybody would ever
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: hire you that you. It's like there, if you were
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: if you were casting a movie. You're directing a movie
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: right right, and the role is for a forty five
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: year old hard ass. He's maybe maybe he's connected to
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: the mafia in some way. He's fucking he needs to
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: be intimidating. You need let me just finish my thought.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: You're not gonna call me. You shouldn't call me. If
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: you called me, I'd be like, dude, what are you doing?
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Hire fucking Bobby CONNIVALI what are you doing? Go? I'm
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: sorry for you, man. Then if no, I don't know, man,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I disagree with that. I think I think you. I
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: think you have the potential to play anything if you tap,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: if you are willing to stretch out with you know, uh,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: I want to say your feelings, but then you're gonna say,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about Star Wars. I want to you know
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: what I mean? If you're willing to put the work
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: in and stuff like that, you know it's there. Anything's obtainable,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: especially in this this is a craft. It's not you
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: know what I mean. People work really really really really
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: really really really really really hard once they're in the door,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: and it sometimes pays off. You know what I mean,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: you're in the door. If somebody gave you an opportunity
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: like that and it was a sick ass role, I
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: don't see why you wouldn't say, fuck it, I'll go
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: for it and try your best instead of coming at
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: it as you picking me me, really me, you think
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I could do that? Fuck that shit, man, I'll you
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: know that's that's held me back so many times in
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: my career. Dude. You know, you get auditions and you
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: look at and you're like, I don't know if I
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: can do that, and all of a sudden that makes it.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: You've already lost the You've already lost the part you know.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Fuck that shit, man, go at it as you can
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: do anything. I don't know. Man, I know I sound
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: like I'm listen. I love you, bro, and I think
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: and I think, I think. I think we are all
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: capable of incredible things. And because of that, I really
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: believe that you're capable of doing you know, things that
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: you say you don't believe you can do, but only
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: you believe. I hope to play the hard ass soon.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Do you question that us into a fight? Yes, I
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: apologize for that. I guess I've got a question for
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: both uh Danelle and Joel, as well as Daniel Daniel
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: it's a name that doesn't exist. It's because of people
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: misreading his email. That's why we call him down. Gotcha? Well,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: should I start with him or start with it? Okay,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: we'll start with that. That's our friends. You know, being
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: on the producing side of a lot of shows, like
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I was talking about, it's always interesting for me to
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: meet the people or to figure out the past people
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: have taken on production side that got them to land
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: to where they are now. And I know when you
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: guys have your guests off for the first time, you
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: always kind of ask them that question. I was kind
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: of curious about the two of you, well, like how
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: we got to being produced. Well know, as far as
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: is doing the engineering or producing shows, Like what shows
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: did you work on which led you to another show
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: which led you to this? Or Oh yeah, I could
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: do that real quick. I was working at after Buzz
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: TV doing five after shows at night, which led me
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: to Collider doing a lot of their Jedi Council. Things
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: you worked on Jedi Council, like VI did I make
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: guest appearances there? And I did the showdown as a
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: Night's Sister so it's like very on brand. And then
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: my good friend Danny Fernandez, who worked it I hired.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: It was like, Yo, you should come to the script
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: notes for my show. It's Daniel was doing the engineering
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: and editing for And then Daniel was like, hey, Jack,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: who was our boss? Who should hire this girl to produce?
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: And that's how I ended up here. Awesome we are
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: And Daniel, were you always doing produced injuring like this
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: or did you ever do studio for live music or
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: anything like that? That's so funny that you asked yes,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Craig before. The reason I asked about your venue is
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: because I was wondering if I had played there. Used
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: to be part of a DJ producer duo called Gladiator,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and we toured the world for the last like ten years.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: After that stopped being super profitable, I started looking for
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: work in places that also used the skills of audio
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: editing and everything that I had been doing and cutting audio.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I taught at a couple of different DJ schools around
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Los Angeles. There was a posting about openings at iHeart
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: or at the time it was how Stuff Works. They
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: were opening their new LA office and they were starting
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a new comedy branch. So I submitted, I interviewed, and yeah,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: and now I'm here and started started just working on
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: one show to editing three shows, to editing and engineering
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: four shows, to producing a show, to getting asked to
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: drop off some equipment at Zach and Donald's place, and
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: now here we are. It's really interesting. You know, I
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: don't think either one of them thought that this was
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: going to be their job, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Like I know and and and what's crazy is that
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: they were both on a show together at one point
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: before this, doing something similar, talking about a subject that
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: they were very interested in? Am I correct? Like you
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: guys were you guys were both personalities on the on
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the air right? That show never got released? But oh yeah,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: well Joel Joel was the show that we did together
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: had not been released yet. I guess you were cheating
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: on because you were doing the video game recaps and
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: are awesome sound board this show man talk about that show.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: So now you guys got your little inside jokes and
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I'm not really feeling it. Let's get out, Okay, Well
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: you make a note that the correction. I'm gonna be
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: honest with you. Yeah, could I get very divisive? Man,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: you are a devisive You can just jot down a
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: note that all the guests need to ask solely about
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Donald and I. Please. That's it. No more, no more
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: of this, none of this tell us about you, guys.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: You are a divisive caller, all right. Want to fix
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: your life even though you've ruined ours ready on account
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: of three it's time to fix you. Yes, keep the
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: disredo from last week. Donald raw rah rah raw raw
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: raw raw familiar with this segment. Oh it hasn't come.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that's right, it has. It hasn't aired yet,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: But that's so funny. We had a did The reason
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: I chose Craig was because he had trivia questions and
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: we talked forever ago about doing potentially more trivia, and
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: one it was like, and I really liked the trivia questions.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: We're doing trivia. We don't have a trivia theme song.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Let's get into it. It's scrub us still with still
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: would roll. Now. I feel like I'm missing out on
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: on fixing my life. But that's all all right, yeah,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: whatever that big problem was, alright, trivia go. I've got
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: two questions for you, guys. The first one is who
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: was the only actor that had a story arc in
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: both Scrubs and House. First of all, I've never watched
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: an episode of House. I didn't think that. I didn't
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: think you was gonna have this one. I thought Zach
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: might have a trying to think of Heather Graham. Wait no, wait,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: wait wait, I got it. Michael Weston, that's right, well
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: go oh my god, that was a deep pull. Michael
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Weston played private dancer on our show if you recall,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: and he also did a big arc on House. Also
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: did a really scary fucking career making arc on Six
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Feet Under if you remember that show. He was a
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: very very very scary character that encountered Michael C. Hall.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: All right, go ahead, I'm winning. Okay, you are winning.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: The next one is besides Donald and Rerun, what other
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: guests are that appeared on Scrubs? Was also the inspiration
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: for a dance craze. Besides Donald and Rerun, what character
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: appear on Scrubs inspired a dance craze? Hold on, now,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: my money's on you. Donald, I gotta get it because
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I gotta get this. Is it Billy d dance Craze?
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: I don't, I can't know, I don't know who is it,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: it would be Courteney Cox as the inspiration for the
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: club O. The Bruce Springsteen. She inspired the Carlton. She
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: inspired the Carlton that we all love so much in
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: the Springsteen mean the white people dance, yes, no, But
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: in that Bruce Springsteen video he put on stage, Well,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: let's is that before Molly Ringwalden the Breakfast Club because
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: she does the same dance in the Breakfast Clubs. You're
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: saying that all white chicks dance the same, Donalds, I'm
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: saying all white people did that dance first, and that's
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: why Carlton was doing it, because Carlton was supposed to
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: be the white black guy on the right. Oh well, wow,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: good trivia. Do you have another one as far as trivia?
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: That was it for trivia. But a quick question was,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: and it's always kind of bothered me about I hope
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: this is another device a question, but it was when
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: you guys figured out the name of the Jandler as
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Glenn Matthews. That kind of threw me as a curveball
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: because the episode where you saw him in The Fugitive
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: and you kind of flipped out of Michael. Why didn't
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: you just watch the credits well, Bill has an answer
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: for this that he this was I think we were
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: We didn't. We never shot it though, I just know
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: that I think Bill said on the our podcast, didn't
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: he say that Glenn Matthews was lying when he was
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: in the Fugitive and came up with a fake name
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Neil Flynn. Oh, I see, because he's always lying about
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: what his name is, but his real name is by Matthews.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: There you go. Donald Joel tells us Sorry. Daniel tells
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: us that Dancing in the Dark came out one year
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: before The Breakfast Club. So Molly Ringwold got her moves
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: from Courtney coxs Wowet. So Courtney really said a dance
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: trend that reverberated for many decades. You want to hang
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: around while we keep talking about the show? You can
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: no sure? I mean, I guess, uh yeah, imagine. I
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: can't wait for the guests. That's like, you know what
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna get out of it? Was there was there
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: any guests or special guests that you guys really wanted
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: to get on the show that weren't able to you guys.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: It's such a great job. I knew Spike Lee was
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: a fan of the show and I really wanted him
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: to direct the show. I wanted him to direct it
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: so bad and it never worked out. That was that was.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: And then Jamie Fox also. I wanted somehow to get
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Jamie Fox on the show also. I remember saying it
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: to him and he was like, yeah, I'd be down,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: but it never worked out. And do Ley Hill as well.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I wanted to do lay on the show. And Holly
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Berry that was the other one. I really wanted Holly
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Berry on the show more than anything. I wanted Holly
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Berry on the show. Zach, anyone for you? I don't
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I can't remember. I don't think so. I think everybody,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: everybody I could think of. I mean, the guests you
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: got were incredible. You covered it almost every all my
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: favorite shows growing up. You know, you've represented one way
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: or another. It was incredible. In fact, Scrubs I think
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: was the last show. But I remember watching like on
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: a schedule, like you know, now you can just binge
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: watch everything, but that was one of those it's Thursday,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: you know, I gotta, you know, playing my schedule around
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: it to watch that week by week. But whereas now
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: you can just burn through the whole thing, and you
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: know a few days and just RiPP through the whole series.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: But all right, we're gonna finish watching about this show
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: because and you're allowed to hang out because thank you.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: You seem like a nice person. Okay, is a boob man?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: This is for real, for real, because he's watching his
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: wife breathe in and out and looking at them boobs. Yeah,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: and he should best be nice to my cousin. Who's
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: the cousin's name, I don't remember, FEMA something like that,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: You best be nice to my cousin from FEMA. Yeah.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Now she turns into a sort of a bride zilla. Yeah,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: kind of sort of. Uh she well, she goes crazy
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: over this wedding. She's yeah, she turk in trouble KC
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: did your wedding which was thrown magically in my backyard? Did?
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Did the last couple of weeks? Did Casey turn into
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: a bridezilla? No, she never really turned into a bridezilla.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: We had a wedding planner who helped out with everything,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: and so stress levels were really low in our wedding
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: planning and planning our wedding like, uh, but yeah, I've
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: seen Casey's not that type of person. Also, mm, well,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: I'm sure a lot of listeners can relate to their
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: partner going a little batty before the wedding. It's a
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: lot of pressure. Yeah, but I don't get that. I
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: don't get I get that it's supposed to be this
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: party that you only get once today, But why do
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: people go crazy like that? Like, why does it got
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: to be Joel? Go ahead, Joel? Everyone's raising their hands today. Yes,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: I call on Joel. Thank you Zach. For many years,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: this was the only day women could look forward to.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: The only thing you're allowed to do in life is
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: get married. If you were lucky, you had some say
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: in your partner. But everybody knows that's the bride's day.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: So if you'd get to choose your partner, at least
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: you got to choose the party, like the whole dream
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: dress thing. So like, I think the closer it gets
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: to the day, a lot of women are like, well,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: it's got to be my perfect magical day that I
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: thought about for twenty two to sixty five years. I
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: want to get it right. And I think it's just
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: the pressure and stress of it that makes some ladies
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: and you know, guys, to go a little a little
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: over the top. Do you have a wedding journal, Joel already.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Oh god, No, that's the weirdest thing I've ever heard
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: of in my life. It's like a wedding journal. Well,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: how long have you had your wedding journal for? Since
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: I was eight? It's like, get the fuck out of here. Really,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: you've been thinking about getting married since you were eight
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: years old something. Women women grow up with these princess
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: you know, fantasy tales, and they and they they long
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: for their princess moment where they are in the gown
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: and everyone's looking at how beautiful they are, and they
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: get to perfectly curate this one day, and I guess
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: there's a lot of pressure for it to be perfect.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: But since you were eight, yes, and younger, Donald, it
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: starts at Barbie has a dream wedding gown like every year. Like,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I wonder if my daughter's thinking like that right now.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I wonder if my five year old daughters, I can
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: went out, let's ask her, ask her, get out of here, man.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: I don't want to find out. I don't want to
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: know if she's sticking that ship. Get out of here, man. Right,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: I just thought we could do a survey of you
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: want to find out, Let's find out she just got
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: out of school. Let's find all right, let's ask her.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: You know, we try and always go to the experts
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: in every different area. Why not go to a young
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: girl and ask her if she's thought at all about
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: her wedding? I really want to know. I feel like
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I would have had very clear ideas about how I
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: wanted to be married at five, because what else did
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: I have time to think about? You know? Right? Well,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: Barbie helps put it in your mind, right, Barbie, that
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: whole doll world and the dresses, and absolutely I don
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: look good for ken every rom come I watch with
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: my mom. Brothers really did a number? Okay, be a
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: big girl and listen. Okay, Hi, darry Lynn, how are
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: you doing? Hi? Wilder, Daddy's gonna ask you a question.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Go ahead, daddy, he can't hear you, Welder, do you
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: ever think about like your wedding? Get close to Mike
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: so they can hear you. M okay, asked Zach Wilder.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: We're wondering if little kids ever think about their weddings.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Have you ever thought yet about when you're older and
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: you get married, have you ever thought about the wedding? No, girl,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: do you ever think about the dress that you might
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: wear one day at your wedding. Yes, okay, tell me
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: to tell us about the dress that you might wear
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: your wedding. M what does it look like? It's why? Okay, Yes,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: you don't know what you think your wedding dress is
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: gonna be white? Wise, your wedding that's gonna be white, sweetie.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: It's because I found for a mommy dress. Yeah, because
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: mommy's dress was white. Do you want to wear mommy's
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: dress the same dress? Yes? Oh that's so sweet. No,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: that's so sweet. As wilder Wilder sorry, all right, Wilder,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: thanks successfully Wilder than tell daddy to give you five dollars.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I got to give her a payment for being on
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: the part. Get ten dollars. All right, good negotiating, negotiating,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: it's killing me. You've that girl ten hundred dollars? Give it? No, okay,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Finn whatever, I love you. No, you're done. No, No,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: you can't walk? All right? So there you have it.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: Little girls, do you think about their weddings? Don't She's
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: already noticed she's gonna wear a Casey's dress. No, she
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: only said that because you freaking coaxed her into saying
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: I didn't I asked, very, I didn't lead the questions
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: as they said did. You asked her do you think
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: about your wedding? And she said no. Then he said
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: do you think about your dress? And she was like,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: it's gonna be white. Do you know what color you're
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: dressing me? She said, it's gonna be white. And then
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: you asked her why she because my mommy's dress was white.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: That all that's not that's not her thinking about her wedding.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: That's her just remembering, oh my mom has a white dress.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: So you're saying that I was leading the witness. There's
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: no way that she knows what she wants to get
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: married in or anything like that man's white fucking dress.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Asked because her mom wore one dick face. I don't
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: like you anymore. You know your face is shaped like
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: a dick. Okay, you know your lips are shaped like
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: two anuses exploded? Oh really? Oh really? Oh really? Oh really?
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: You know you did this to us, Craig, I know,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: I so Todd getting kicked out of the r Did
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: you laugh? Yeah, that was funny, but I also laughed
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: at me calling Seawan a full lipt fast because the
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: janitor said something like you can't compete with that guy.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Look at his full lips and when he comes over
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: like a full lift fast. You don't want Scott Fooley
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: being the other man in your relation and your love triangle.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: This also made me laugh, Why are you still here?
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: The hospital doesn't sell cigarettes? What about when j D
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: and says it, Danny like, don't have sex and she's like, fine, right,
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: don't talk. They hate each other. They hate each other.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: What's great is that she she nails it though JD
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: wants what he can't have. That's always been a stay
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: I know. But it's so evil that fucking Elliott changes
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: her whole life for him. And she gets there and
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: like cuddles up to him and he's like, oh no,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: what have I done? What have I done? Does the
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: relationship end once again by the end of the season,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: And I think so it must. There must be a
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: big fallout at your wedding coming up like that. I
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: don't know I did it. Yeah, it's an hour and
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: a half. We've given you an hour and a half
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: of arguing and hopefully a few laughs. We love you all.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: We want to thank Craig Jenkins for coming on the show.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: On the show, thank you guys so much for putting
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: this together. It's been such a ray of sunshine during
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: a time when we all really need it. Thank you, Craig.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: We love hearing that. We love to attempt to take
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: people's minds off things for for ninety minutes or so.
