- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: I just glad you're here.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: I should not have highlighted that one.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we are downsizing, downsizing, downsizing.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: The apartment we got, which is a super pumped.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: It is less than half the square footage of the place we currently reside.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: So like, yeah, divided into with a little extra.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: So we will see, I'm getting rid of my car.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we are just totally, we're going to try it.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's going to work, but it's what it is.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Now,
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to take a second.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't typically do this, but this is very, very important to me.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: I have to give a huge shout out to one of the legends.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: You see them in the chat sometimes, and if you bend to zoom hanging out, shout out to the man, William, Bill, Carey again.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he is a Bay Area Realtor and a dear friend.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, one of the first people that I came in to contact with when I started this 49 hours for his podcast, he and his family have had season tickets and have not missed a home game in 20 plus years.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: He is the best of the best family's incredible shot at Sam.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, he got a great kid coming this way, but if you have any real estate area needs, especially if you're around the Redwood City area,
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Bill Kerrigan is such a name that you need to know.

- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I've watched so many games alongside this dude.

- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: John from the 40 hours rush since you, uh, that's what's up.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: So let's dive in, baby.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to number 23.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Jordan's number, right?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Max Jones, who?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Max Jones.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: The best backup quarterback in the NFL.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Are you with the wall?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: There is nobody.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: That is better than him.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it took some time.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: not really a lot of time, but it took time to win people like me over for Matt Jones.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was not a Matt guy.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: You go back to whatever he came out of the draft, the trade lands, exact Will said, Justin Fields, Matt Jones debate, I was 100% in on trade lands, nailed the pick, it just didn't work out.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: would Mac Jones have been better.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I was so anti-Mac Jones for several reasons.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: One, all of his off the field, antics growing up whenever he was a kid.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't think that the ceiling was there with Mac Jones, which I would say probably held true.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to trade all those first round picks and move up, you got to swing for the fences.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones is better than trade lands.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: We know that now that is a definitive answer.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: However,
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones is still kind of on the cusp of is that kind of 20 second to 30th best quarterback in the NFL and I felt like that was almost always going to be a ceiling.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's an absolute stud and how tough he is, picked himself up off the turf time and time and time he can play so tough.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: One, all the fans over when the locker room, over when the coaching staff over, he's just been incredible.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: And for the crazy's out there that are trying to start quarterback controversy still, Matt Jones got up there behind the podium and said, I'm here to back up Brock Perty.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is my job, and that's what I'm gonna do.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: They need me, I'll be there, that is rare.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: series on Netflix or have watched it this season like you watch guys like Joe Flacco.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't really shade at Joe Flacco, but Joe Flacco will even say I don't want to be a backup.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: I am not here to be a backup and you can tell like his attitude and demeanor.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's not horrible to his teammates by any stretch.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like it takes a unique individual.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: to accept the role that you've been brought in for, execute that role and just know your role, man.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: That is Matt Jones.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was 49 on this list last year, up 26 spots up to 23.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 10?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: 6, 3, 2, 17, it's 27 years old.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Probably one of my favorite things is that it was a two year deal.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was a one year deal.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: He would have witnessed sign for 30 million somewhere.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: He would have got a big deal this year.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you get back to back years with very, very cheap, inexpensive quarterback play.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: And all of that is thanks to Shanahan.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: people want to play for Shanahan, the amount of quarterbacks that have made career long money because of Kyle Shanahan, C.J.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Petters still in the league, Nick Mullin still in the league, Jimmy Garoppolo on the verge of retirement, but that dude has made so much damn money.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Shanahan played a huge role at Tray Lance is still in the league.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: Tray Lance is making more money
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's a testament to who the coach is.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: The quarterback whispered, the most quarterback friendly system out there.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody thrives in it in this reclamation project that is back Jones.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna pay huge dividends.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna get paid big time, big time, big time, big time.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: He played his college football, Alabama, McCorkill Jones, one of the all-a-time coolest, nerdyest middle names.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: My been on the name of his little Mar, and it was way cooler, but McCorkill was pretty badass.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Went to Bowles High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Dad played tennis at Florida State, Brother Will played soccer at Mercer, Sister Sarah played tennis at College of Charleston, and it's a family full of athletes.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And McCorkill was a child model.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Then, it starts to thrive in high school into the regional final as a junior one to four-ay state title as a senior commits to Alabama.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, you led to a first round selection with a big 15th overall.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, the Niners were rumored to take him at three overall.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: You had Adam Shefter saying it's pretty much a done deal.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: You had Matt Meoko saying it's done deal.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be Matt Jones at three.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: All of them were wrong.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: The insiders were wrong.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Turned out to be trail ants.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I do not buy into the somebody convinced Kyle Shenehan to not take Matt Jones.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see once, you know, Kyle Shenehan retires and all these players are done.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: We might get some of the truth to that.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the trailands decision was wrong.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: You should have stayed put.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: And if you did trade up, man, there's Hall of Famer's galore that you could have picked.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Could have had Penae's stool.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: You could have had Jamar Chase.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: You could have stayed put.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: You got Michael Parsons.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Michael Parsons was on the 49ers board though.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But they took trailands.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Jones goes 15th.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: goes to the Patriots, leads him to the playoffs, then falls off a cliff, goes to Jacksonville is the backup, does a decent job filling in for Trevor Lawrence when he's injured, comes to the 49ers and he's in his sixth season.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Jones has played a lot of football.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: 63 games played 57 career starts.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: He looked at his career along stats, 66% completion percentage.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: That was on a huge uptick last year, 12,000 passing yards, 67 touchdowns, 58 or sections, fits this offense to a T. Now, check down whenever he was behind.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Brindle and Hennessy last year, man, he, he lit Christian McAfria.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was like 15 targets again.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Check down, check down, check down, check down.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't have the wide receiver prowess.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: Him and Kendrick born linked up very, very well.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: They had a history together.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: He goes five and three.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Jones does with the 49ers, which is awesome.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Backup quarterback, the general rules this and the backup quarterback can go 500.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: You are ecstatic.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Backup quarterback goes five and three.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: I might not be a backup quarterback, right?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Now,
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: The weird thing with Mac Jones was he couldn't get past that 20 point threshold.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: He'd get to it every single week, but there were no 30 point games, there were no high 20 point games, there was 20 points, that was about it, that the explosives weren't there outside of what he did with Kendrick born a couple passes to kiddo, there were even some issues with the kiddo Mac Jones signature, or you know, syncing up.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: eventually that went away, but not a lot of explosives outside of Kendrick born.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely the best quarterback to in the NFL, and I would not be surprised.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think the trade conversation is put on ice for now.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones being traded, unless
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: A major playoff contender loses quarterback.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: You go back to the Teddy Bridgewater Sam Bradford trade with Minnesota.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Something along those lines, but I think along the trade deadlines, probably where it's going to make the most sense.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Shanahan does not want to trade Mac Jones.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Brock Party has missed a lot of time in his career.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: So damn tough, but he's had some injuries.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's so nice.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: You sleep so well knowing Mac Jones.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's stepping in any moment.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go five and three.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: really, really nice comfort that a lot of teams in the NFL do not have.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: So if somebody does come calling, whether it's a trade deadline because of an injury, whatever, they're going to have to pay up.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's going to cost a second a high second round pick, which man can a can a bad team, or a good quality team that is trying to make a playoff push offer that.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's hard.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: It might take a second late second a player or a second a fifth something along those lines, but even if you don't trademark Jones, and he just, you know, best case scenario sits on the bench, the entire year brought party stays healthy.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: He goes and signs elsewhere at the end of this season.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then the 49ers will get a 20, 28 compensation pick.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's how it works.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you trade on before the trade did line, you get a 2027 traffic that 2027 draft is loaded.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: those draft picks are going to be hard to part by part with from all these different teams of the NFL.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So if you can get a second round or that 2027 draft, I'm doing it.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll see, if not, you wait, you get a 2028 draft pick, not that big of a deal.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: The nighters will not be making huge free agency signings.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: They are over the cap already for next year.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, with them rolling forward, they're 70 million, that's going to help some.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: But the next two seasons, 2027 and 2028, the 49ers are the only team in the NFL that are currently projected over the cap.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to get under the cap with the roll over, restructures, you know, releasing some players all those different things, but out of 32 teams in the NFL, the 49ers of the only team to be over the cap in 2027 and 2028 currently.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like they're going to be out there making $30 million free agency signings.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: I do not expect that to take place.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really do not.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Matt Jones played in eight games, started eight games, played 11, 554 snaps, 13 touchdowns, six interceptions.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: He signed a two year eight point four million dollar deal.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's made 20 million dollars in his career and he's the solid.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: number two.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: These saw, I remember people say it, oh, maybe Adrian Martinez can pass Matt Jones.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was just like, dude, y'all are crazy.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's zero percent chance that is going to happen.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: It is not happening.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: It did not happen.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's anyway.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: You deal with that with what you will.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this said, yeah, we were so wrong on that.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: so tough, fun behind the podium.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever all the pressure is gone, Matt Jones has grown up.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's 27, but like, he's just been awesome.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: It really, really has.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you, sin.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: Doc, what's up, man?
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: Get him, J.C.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you can sign any free agent right now, who would it be?
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, I gotta pull up my free agency list.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: I do not have, let's see here.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let me get my research.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: one of my favorite things that goes out, Mike Clay puts out a list of free agents.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: I would look at the tight end room.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I don't know who's been signed off this list.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'd go get Taseem Hill.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot more high, I think he's still available.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot more guys out there that would be worth it, but I would want to tie it in.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna talk a little bit more.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna talk a lot more about the tie-in position today.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll stay with that.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Friday, man.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Friday.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Ben, he says I was wrong on Mac and trade too.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: What he always was but he's a class act now.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's past he was a kid kids make stupid choices and those get put under the microscope turn draft time
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: They grow up and that's great.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: Some guys are able to overcome that immaturity, Mac has done that and that is huge.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I do also just have to say thank you to Ben and why Niners, as you know, Josh Fortair's faithful 90.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's Zach, they are, you know, they help with this entire countdown series.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: They are freaking awesome.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: They're just the best.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of it takes humility.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones got humbled.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's traded, you know, put on the back burner, but he's awesome.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, I'm not a fan of Matt Jones per se, but I do have more respect for him now than I did back then.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: 100%.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Law of all.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, brother?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: I get the impression the leaders of the team want to see Matt Jones on a long-term role.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: We may get a quarterback controversy in the near future.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm probably out on this one.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that there is a way that there is a quarterback controversy.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Brock has proven across multiple multiple seasons that he is the guy.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's incredible.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's the perfect attitude, all those things.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's seenling as much higher than that Jones because of how greedy he is, his mobility.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I just think he offers more.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I do not see a way that you can keep both.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Matt Mayoco's say the 40 hours are trying to sign him long term.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see that in the cards.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really don't.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be happy if they did.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, notorious Mac Joe's Boobbox walk out controversy and covered a dude, let's do it.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it, uh, locate they got for, you know, literally Brock party or the Niners would be a fully it.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: It'd be rough.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners got really, really lucky with what it is, uh, you know, led into the Brock party and the seventh route.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: freaking awesome.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just awesome.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to number 22 on our roster count.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now the highest rated rookie I asked you guys an episode ago.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Who is going to be the most impactful rookie of the all eight that were picked on the 20 26 season almost everybody said the save answer.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ramello height.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: We got trapped in the third round.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: Pick 70th overall.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: The edge
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: that man he's been on a jersey was that offered for two years was that USC for two years goes to shorts tech for a year then Texas tech for this guy has traveled more than John Chapman travels in a freak of football season he's played everywhere everywhere.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: All of them in the south though.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: You do have to say that right.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: I know USC doesn't count the south, but from, you know, a geographic standpoint, all of them, you know, in the south, which is interesting.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: Ramello height 633239 he's small.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's small for an edge rusher standards compared to what the 49ers usually get.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: You look at, we kill Williams, the Bosa, Sam.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Key on Y, Drake, Jackson, you don't get a lot of these small guys.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: You got to go all the way back to D Ford, Price, Huff, right?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: These edge pass rush specialists.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: Which is exactly what I see Romella high being and whenever you watch the tape, he kind of had a huge season that exploded that he hasn't had.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: He played a lot of football.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: He played six seasons in college.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: He only had one kind of wow season and it took him at Texas Tech being surrounded by a lot of quality talent.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody on that defensive line got drafted.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: for him to have an impact.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so that kind of worries you a little bit.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: But then you look at the 49ers.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, dude, this guy gets to play with Nick Bosa.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing with Oso Digi Zua.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing next to Alfred Collins, who's second round pick.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: CJ West 4th round pick.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: Grayson Hall in the 4th round pick.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing with some talent.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Keon White's second round pick.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's stepping into a very similar situation that he was in at Texas Tech.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so whenever you're talking Romelo height is 25 year old rookie, that's weird as hell to say you got not one but two 25 year old rookie this year born and raised in Dublin George I've been to Dublin George it's a good time what's a Dublin high school six siblings one brother five sisters nick name is mellow so a Romelo nickname mellow that's freaking awesome three star recruit coming out.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: And man, again, Auburn, USC, Georgia Tech, then Texas Tech finishes college education with the bachelor's and American pop culture at USC what you can study American pop culture I'm curious I I'm a big trivia guy right like I bet Melo could crush it really good ran a four six 40 and he's jacked like whatever we say he's small six 3 240 that's small from an edge standpoint you look at them.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's like a chiseled running back that's six three.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: He looks like Derek Henry, like he's got very similar height weight all those things.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: He just plays a different position.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: So it's funny.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: We call him undersized, but if he was a running back or a tight end or a lineback or whatever, you'd be like, dude is huge.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: 6, 3, 2, 40, dude's jack, undersized for the position, speed, burst, and bend.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: Explosive lower body blitzes from everywhere.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Got a lot of production on stunts.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: So this is one of the things that I'm really, really excited about because having the defensive coordinator
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: That is creative.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Robert's all.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really his thing.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Cousaric, not really his thing, but you look at the new DC DC, where he Morris, that is his thing.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: So you're blending a little bit of, okay, what is Melo's best traits, where Melo, hi, to Blitzene and being creative and stunting and doing all these loops and whatever else.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: that's your new DC's jam.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: So it's it's kind of a best of best there.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: Unreal bending consistency shows on tape.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is our before the nighters drafted them are draft right up in the 40 irons rush draft book.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Hansen Hips worked perfectly together in past rush.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: Lyonman whiff on him consistently changed directions off the charts.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: Bend his awesome.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: The film reminds me of an
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that the professor?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, like that is the way Ramello height blitz is He's just like a phantom out there guys with on him consistently when they go to engage tackles
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: They just miss played 1600 snaps almost all as an edge now.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what's crazy.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's played six seasons, but he was never just an every down-type player.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: So on the experience metric of all the edge players, he only got a six out of 10.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he played six seasons, he's been a pass for a specialist, his entire career.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Versatility to, you know exactly what he's going to do.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Speed seven, acceleration eight, injury seven, pass for a 10.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Run Game 3, it went bad against the run.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's going to be asked to do that at his rookie year at all.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to come in, play 20 snaps of game, and that's it.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: And you're hoping he can be an impact player that forces quarterback to get the ball out quick.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: Niners had 20 sacs last year.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Ramello height is one of the core principal players that is here and brought in to fix the situation.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's awesome.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: You look at him last year played 600 snaps 21 tackles two tackle for loss not huge in the run game nine sacks 62 pressures hit a pass for a pass rush win rate 22 percent
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's one out of every five snaps that this guy dominates.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really good.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: Have a great 15.7 that was 12th best in the class.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: You got him in the third round.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Overall, PFF grade 92.6, run game 65, pass rush 92, three fours fumbles.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: You reminds me the athletic comp is Will McDonnell the fourth.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was a first round pick to the Jets.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: Play style, Byron Young.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Byron Young is the only edge player that was dragged to the third round or later to get eight sacks their rookie year, and the past four drafts, guess who is DC was, remorse.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Do I expect, remelow high to get eight sacks?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: I do not.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: I would put the over under at four and a half, again, only three players in four seasons have had more than eight sacks their rookie years combined.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: All three of them were coached by Reemors by the way, all three of them, I'm sorry, no, there's four players.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all four players coached by Reemors.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's a fun player.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really like him.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to come in on past rush down's only.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's Ramello, hi, he's freaking awesome, man.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty excited to see
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's go, um, height is small the irony.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty good.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty good.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we're, we're scrolling.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to move the conversation.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know at any time I talk about quarterbacks.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you get guys on some trends and I apologize for that.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are incredible.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: My sack prediction for a high, I put the over under at four and a half.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, again, you look at
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: Today, they had one player get over that.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think last year, I mean, they only had 26.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see here.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm scrolling on pro football reference, which is my favorite site ever.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you didn't have one player over four sacs last year.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Bryce Huff had four, Clean, Farrell had four, Samo had three, both of two, key on white one and a half.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, now that was apocalypticly bad pass rush last year, both to get in hurt, kill Williams getting hurt, all those things.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: But four and a half sacks.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's a negative.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: I really really don't.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: I know in today's society.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, if you don't get double digit sex, you suck.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: that's not a reality in the NFL world.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not what it is.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Kimbro, that's what we need.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: A past rush specialist.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: Very similar to what Alden Smith did, his rookie, you're like, I want to treat it the same way, where Vic Fanzio basically said, look, kid, you just come in and rush passer.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: We'll develop and you got to like, week 10, 11, 12, then Alden started playing base downs, but the build is so different.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Alden was an alien from day one, Ramello is not going to be that small arms, undersized, I don't think there's going to be any point in Ramello Heights career, where he's in every down player.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see that, and that's why he failed to the third round.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: But as far as roles go, yeah, you want that Alden rookie year where it's just, you do one thing.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: You go over there and you rush the damn passer.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Law of all.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: We need a demon past Russia post haste it's been what's missing for I don't know how long probably since default and even that de-forward window was a small glimpse It was 2019 and that was it.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, way better than Huff Huff was really bad last year.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Huff was decent for like two and a half games and then he was terrible for 15 games.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: Huff was really really bad like the Niners were gonna release him.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm 100%
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: before he retired, it, yeah, it was bad.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Bid, I'm thinking height gets eight plus.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's walking this to a perfect situation.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be awesome.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: I hope he does.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: I hope he does.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: I know Brad Graham said he expects it.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: I know, you know, ant from 40 hours.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Cut back, expect it.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: I know Wayne is really, really high on it as well.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very high on Ramelahide as well.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: I had a second round great on him.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm struggling saying eight sex.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: Very very hard.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Huff was not the stuff dude notorious just coming out spit and bars today I appreciate that bin.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: Huff was fine until he got thrown into a roll.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was never intended to be that is true He was he was really patty against a run, but like the past rush never came never came It was there for like two plays and that was it
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: He did have 15 quarterback hits.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: He led the team doubled anybody else on the team there.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is fair But man, I just remember those last two months of the season where it was like do this guy He's taking snaps because you got nobody else.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's really bad at football.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: It was bad Oh, it was bad.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hope was good until the boss of injury happened two games in right?
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: He was never intended to play so much He was bad in all the snaps he played though those past two months like
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: I get it and I hope is journey goes well.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: I made a lot of money for an untrafted free agent and awesome.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: Just awesome, but yeah, now speaking of awesome, look at this man.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to my boy Rick.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: He came through with this new flyer that we got up for Melburn, Australia.

- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, local tough as hell, just just waited needed the proper amount of season.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: Not one, not two years, three years chilling on the practice squad before he got his chance.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: but when Lose got to us, got his chance.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: What does he do?
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: He steps in week one on the road, almost a walk off touchdown jump ball against Seattle.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Togis, are you kidding me?
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: All the way up to 21.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: He was on the 2021-23 49ers roster midseason.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: They added him in.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: No play in time.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: 20 24 no play in time.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 77 on the roster count of 20 25.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 61.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: They paid to bring in Luke Ferrell drafted.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, all these different, you know, Brady and Willis, you bring in, I don't even want to say the other guy from Alabama, bring him in, trapped him in the third round, doesn't matter the main state, the longevity, the perseverance,
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: Jake, freakin' conscious.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: How do you say his name and not smile?
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Dude was awesome.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: Two of the biggest wins last year, responsible.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: Two of the biggest wins played key roles.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: He had six catches against the Rams and the overtime win.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: The walkoff touched down pretty much against Seattle.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime kiddo was being done, which was a lot last year.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Lo's got those Jake Todd just comes in.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Just freaking dominate.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: Six, four, two, 40,
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: love this dude.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: And what's crazy is he's 26 right now.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: It'll turn 27 right before the season starts.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Jay Thompson's ain't going anywhere.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: They had the restricted free agent Tinder on him.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: They could have just Tindered him.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: They said, no, we're rewarding this guy.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Not with the Tinder.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're giving him not one, but a two year deal.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: This dude got paid.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Two year eight million dollar deal, 5.5 million guaranteed for the traveling,
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: your reward loyalty, and this is one of the many reasons why I say all the time.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you know anybody that is an undrafted free agent or gets to be a part of a practice squad, if the Niners offer you your idiot, if you do not take that, they have used the practice squad better than any team in the NFL.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: They will sit at guy on the practice squad for one, two, three years and wait.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: But if they believe in you and you get your chance, man, you, Emmanuel Mosley, you forget Colton McKivitz, you talk about, I mean, Aziz Alshire, Jake Tontis, you can go on and on and on and on Jordan Mason, Matt Brida,
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners have welcomed the practice squad and expanded the practice squad and they have used it so damn well.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Tonchis is awesome.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Local kid man went to university of Cali was there for four seasons, played everything why it was there from Los Gatos.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: He began his college career as a walk on a cow.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Dude didn't even get a scholarship at cow!
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: fought, did everything he could through five seasons played 41 games.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: He had 47 or seven or six hundred and twenty yards, four touchdowns, played all of these tight end.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was a fullback, even played some split out, wide receiver.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: And in high school, he was kind of did a little bit of everything varsity basketball.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: He played quarterback in high school, before switching to tight end defensive end.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: But dude, just awesome.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: He got his bachelor's in American studies and a graduate certificate and a business administration at Cal, undrafted for age at 2022.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the Niners weren't even the team that found them.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: He signed by the Bears.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: Bears released them.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: Niners picked them up immediately.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: And they just kept them.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: He just followed George Kittle around.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was that tight in you.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Follow George get all around and brought back not once not twice three consecutive seasons finally got his chance Man did he pay dividends he didn't play snap until 2023 and you look at like here here these are the snaps For Jake Tonch's is career okay 20 22.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: He played 16 snaps
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: Mostly special teams 20 23 zero snaps 20 24 34 snaps last year 470 Are you like oh, man Got to love it No touchdowns no receptions.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: No anything for one two three Consecutive years then he steps up last year 40 catches 360 six yards five touchdowns
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: Best moments of the year touchdown against Seahawks had six or more catches and not one not two but three games.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Rams, bucks and bears six or more catches.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: He had more touchdowns last year, five.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Then Ricky Pierce saw his hat his whole pro career.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Pierce all's had three touchdowns.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: He had done last year.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: And again, Tons just played 470 steps.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Pierce all's got a thousand snaps under his belt.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I understand they're completely different players.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the reason why I bring it out isn't so much to take shade at Pierce all.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's to glorify the impact that Jake Tons just has had in such a limited role.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: The dude was on fire last year whenever he got played.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the worst part about it is, Kyle Shetty had the trust him and kiddo together for some reason.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Tontas is not a pro bowl or Jake Tontas is not an all-around well-rounded tight-end, he struggles blocking, that's a huge issue.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: I understand why.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Feral sucks.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: I want kiddo and Tontas together.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: past game effectiveness.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he just does his damn job consistently.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: I freaking love Jake Tonjus, man.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: I freaking love Jake Tonjus.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this, Kim bro, my man.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your generosity, your positivity, everything you bring, man, just makes my life better.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: I thank you so much.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: So thanks for the grind this week, John.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Getting excited about the season so good to hear from the faithful this week.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: Do we are full steam ahead, baby?
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: Full steam ahead, baby.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: Ugh.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers report tomorrow.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: and yet like the next couple pieces of news they're going to be bad news you're going to get the pump at the end of five out there we talked about that this week prepare for it understand any player that gets put on the public or it if i can be activated at any point this is not a death sentence they don't have to miss game time not yet there will be players on the put but the grind starts baby
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Techno, appreciate you, man.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this notorious juice that like button.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: I ain't showing that with law of all.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: That is a friend.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: She's awesome.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, chapter with Togis are tied in room looks horrible.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the goal isn't for Togis.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Togis is the perfect tied in three, especially paired with an aging
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: But what he brings in the receiving game, he, like, do clutch clutch.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's freaking awesome man.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: Jake, if it's conscious.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, conscious solid in the red zone.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Throw it up.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: We made so much money on Tanjus last year.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: We do our bets in season.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do that again this year.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: But man, every time kiddo was out, Tonshitz was automatic hit on the over on receptions and yards.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: One of my close buddies that makes way more money than I do.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's a low bar.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: He sent me a screenshot because I said, dude, I'm betting pretty big.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: Big for me, it's like $100, right?
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: Never bet what you can't afford to lose it.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a gambling problem, never gamble.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: But this dude threw down a couple of G's on the bets that I said, and he sent me a screenshot made like 10k, that was awesome.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: I freaking love it.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: We made a lot of money on tonges.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, kiddo tonges.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: Evans in the red zone.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, please.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, please.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: I want stripline in there too.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: Stripline's bigger than a couple of those dudes.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and CFC.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have five eligibles.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, give me kiddo conscious evidence.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: CFC Struggling those are your five eligibles.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's 12 person now, 40 hours in that all the time, not with Kittle and Taunjus.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think there was one touchdown last year, and I know this because on my morning walks when I'm watching through game tape, I don't remember the opponent, but I see the route combination and the route stem.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: You had a tight-end arrow route from Taunjus who was the inline guy.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: And you had a five yard stick outside move from kiddo and Brock party rolls out and throws it and it looked like it was going to kiddo.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: Cause you had, you know, conscious on the shallow right right at the goal line and then you had kiddo at the back end of the end zone so they're kind of stacked on top of each other and it looked like the past is going to kiddo, conscious snapped it, it's snagged it and took it away from got to touch it down.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: But it was like one of the few reps all year were conscious and kiddo were out there at the same time.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: We need more, need more cowbell.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I got a fever.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: Captain, yeah, thank you for taking the bait there.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you, brother.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Todd just a man of Bunk's boys.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I did want David and Joke who's so bad.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: They would have been a perfect signing.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't do it.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't do it.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, atomic, thanks man.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you welcoming back.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: You are awesome.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: We got the legend of the house.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Dave Gilm's, so finally catching you live after a long time.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: We are so almost back.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for all you do.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Dave, he's one of the executive producers of this show.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: Year and in year route, he's why we were able to go live.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, my friend.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, my friend.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, my friend.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we go from take conscious.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: Which makes you smile.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not my favorite player, not close to my favorite player, but, but definitely an integral part of the 49ers team.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I will say this, Mr.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: All-time watcher Jake Prendel, did have some highlights last year.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: That was new.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was not all block and stop and turn around and watch your teammate get hit.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Brindle had some really quality place some I I can remember three off the top of my head, which is three more than we're used to seeing now I'm not a Jake Brindle guy because he doesn't fit my core philosophy of what it means to be a football player I need somebody that plays all the time and plays through the whistle he does not believe in that.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: And to be fair, neither does Trent Williams.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit different whenever your Trent Williams and Jake Brendel.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: But like you'll see a lot of times where 71 and 64 block really, really hard for two seconds.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then just kind of ease up, turn and watch.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what drives me crazy.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: But Jake Bremel comes in number 20.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: Last year was number 16, 2024 was 18, 2023 was 19, 2022 was 21.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: He stayed right around this realm.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's dropped four numbers, not because, I think there's competition there, there's not.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: The roster got better.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so you got more starters elsewhere that surpassed him.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: We know exactly what to expect from number 64, Jake Bendo, 64, 300 pounds, 33 years old.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Probably got to be his last year with the 49ers.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: So you'd say that every single year.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: But his contract was up with no guaranteed money.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was terrified that they would extend him.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: They did not.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: They gave him a signing bonus and restructure to and added three void years got them about four million dollars up front, which that's huge.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're the anti Jake Brindle crowd, which probably am a part of, and I don't like to be anti anybody, especially Jake Brindles is a good dude, man.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: Great, great dude.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: But they didn't add any more years.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: He has three void years, but like they could extend it to him.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is the last year.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: I really, the contract would say probably the last year, the drafting of Carver Willis, who I see as the long-term center play.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: that signifies that as well.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: Full name, Jacob, William Brendel, born in Madison, Wisconsin, grew up.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: Family was involved in local music theater.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: A little known fact there in college is biggest thrill was winning over time in the Texas high school playoffs.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's awesome.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Name to the UCLA athletic directors on a roll once twice three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine times due to smart.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: intelligent.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's huge.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: That translates on the field gets calls right most of the time.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think I counted twice where it was like up.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_01]: He called wrong here.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: That was about it last season.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty solid.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting and clear in law.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: Huge fish in guy.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's his favorite hobby, played football, basketball, baseball across wrestling and was a competitive swimmer.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: This guy did it all.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: Undrafted free agent signed by the Cowboys back in 2016.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's going into his 10th season man.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: You love that from an undrafted free agent.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: Six seasons as a 49er.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: This is a Chris Forster special.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: Brought him from Miami.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: just let him learn, let him learn again.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: Practice squad for the 49ers.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: Where else would you rather be?
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Prindle is one of those guys.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's played almost 5,000 snaps.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: Almost all those with the 49ers.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: 69 starts.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: 66 of those starts with the 49ers.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: Subpar play.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: I do not think that he is an average sinner, but you're paying him underneath that as well.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're get what you pay
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: I actually would be willing to say that he plays higher than what he is getting paid.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: He only makes just over $4 million a year.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's, he's the 19th highest paid center.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: 16 is average.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're getting exactly what you paid for.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: And because you pay so little at the center position, you're allowed to spend elsewhere.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's why you can pay call to me, give it to you, pay Trent, we'll use you pay these guys.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can't pay every body top dollar money.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Brindle you with your pay for and that is value.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: And he's an iron man.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: Let's be very, very honest.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: He had 58 consecutive starts for the 49ers.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Before he got entered with his hamstring, missed two games this year.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: I will say those were the two best rushing performance games of the 90s all year against the Falcons and against the Giants, but that's the negative, right?
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: The positive of Jake Brindle is gonna get the calls, right?
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's a huge locker room guy and he's pretty good
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's not great, but it's pretty good and there are, you know, in the past, I don't know.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: I go back and forth on this because, you know, after every single game on the 40 honors rush.com and our Patreon, that's how I feed the family.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to support us, please go sign up over there and eat here.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: We would appreciate it.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Rice here, we got zoom hang out Monday, zoom hang out Monday at 5 30 p.m. Pacific time.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: But like I go through every single play three times for the past, I think four and a half seasons consecutive a misplay and I get pissed off at times a lot of times at 64 and I remember one time I was like that's it I'm tired of nobody talking about this and so I just cut plays where Jake Brindle quit in the middle of the play well before the whistle.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, blocks, blocks, blocks, stops, turns around and watch Christian McAfrey brought pretty all these guys to just get killed and steps over their dead decaying body to go start his huddle light up.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't help us teammates up, ever.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: And so I cut a whole bunch of clips that I put it out there.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it picked up traction, it's negative.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like to be negative.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I go back and forth if I should do that or if I should do that.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like to draw, these are humans.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: Shake-brindles of human.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Shake-brindles an awesome human.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: I do wish somebody would tell them to block to the whistle, but, you know, it's what it is.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't like to draw negative attention to that, but at the same time, like, it's my job as the film guy to let people know fans, this is why the run game sucks.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's 64.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: I struggle with
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Putting out negative clips, negative clips do way better.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care about that.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's not my decision making process.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be a part of that.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: But then at the same time, I'm like, dude, people aren't talking about why this player doesn't work.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't know.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: I still shoot worth 10 years in, was this episode 1675.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's this constant just like, okay, what's my job?
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: What would you say you do here?
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to put the negative stuff out there.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's you.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to say that.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I'm not going to say that.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to say that.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now, shout out to Ben.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: I love Ben.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: He helps with the series.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he added this note in our chat.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: He says, you know, this has been two cents worth for all the disappointing moments on film.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: Ben has grown to appreciate Jake Brendel.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: They don't get much tougher and more reliable.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: Those are Ben's worths.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I agree in past pro and getting the calls right and always being there, yes.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: There are certain,
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: what do they call it?
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: The things that uncomfortable things I just cannot compromise on.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get behind some of that quits so often.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: Now it matters to Jake Prenon.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: You see him all the time yelling at himself after he gets destroyed.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: It gets posturized.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's fake.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: His lowlights are the worst
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, pro football focus grades.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a 71.4, not bad.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: Pass pro 62, run game 74.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of how pro football focus grades.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: They grade on the first two seconds.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: So he gets to his block every time.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: The still shots, coaches do this.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: I want to snap one second and two seconds after the tape.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: Every time.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want to still picture so that I can say, good, good, good, good, good.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: Two seconds, okay, cool, good, good, good.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: After two seconds is the problem.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so I struggle.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's made $16 million guys in his career as an undrafted free agent.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing Tindia.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's badass.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much to celebrate with Jake Brando.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just an asshole.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I hate that about myself.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Why can't I just focus that Jake Brando is tough?
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: And a good dude, why do I have to always go back to this?
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I just needed more hugs as a kid.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, there we go.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: John needs a meditation break before this segment.

- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: Frienddo has great seats for every.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: Do my coaching, like say it's like, dude, if you want to watch people play football, buy a damn ticket.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: I can't give any pads if you just go to sit there and watch.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot stand it.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: I would rather you get 15 yard penalties for playing too hard and hit somebody after the whistle than stopping before the whistle.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot do it, can't do it, won't do it, can't win with a. Brenda wasn't being paid a lot.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of a value for the money for what we are paying 100% correct.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: very good.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: Very good.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: Um, guys, sorry inside JP crowd.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, geez.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: Brando always clicks.

- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are the great.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: Chic brando's awesome.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a good dude.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: We build around Brando and we will be solid.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: The others will elevate his play and motivation.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the nonpartisan anti-jake
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: The story is Jake Brindle, somebody we've never overpaid.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, isn't a proble level, but he's not as bad as some people make out a greed 100% well said well said Most of the time is saying as American as apple pies and mediocre, he's a good good good easy to be an iron man when you watch everyone play football.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's calculated.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's calculated
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is, Bid.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do hope Carveen Willis earns the job next year.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's a finisher.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's a night day difference.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're mirrored players of each other.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Brindle, pass pro, terrible in the run game.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_01]: Carveen Willis gets movement in the run game consistently.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's really bad in pass pro.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: So you're seeing kind of a flip there.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_01]: Will it pan out?
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: I hope so.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really hope so.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: Um, right here, Kim bro, John, when is the next life hanging out?
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: Monday, we got Monday at 530 p.m.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: I have not posted the link yet.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I apologize about that, apologize about that.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: Tecmo, do you see price lock is a free safety potentially, not yet, not yet, a price lock, start it outside corner.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the height, weight, speed, all that stuff, outside corners, much more valuable.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_01]: You fail them there, then get them to safety if it doesn't work out, that's where that is.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank you to Tories.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little bit behind.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want to scroll down, get lots of those, yeah, right here in the Tories.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: I joined the Zoom hanging out, but it's 1 AM, I,
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry about that.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still struggling from the Paris.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: There'd be coming back from Paris.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_01]: That nine hour difference is killer bro killer.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: All right, notorious.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: This one's for you, but number 19, juice that like button coming off one of his best if not the best season of his career, which is saying a lot.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle use check the juice comes in number 19.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, now he's been with the night for 10 years, him and kid or joining the 10 year club that is such a monumental feat, especially like the process that juice had gone through getting cut, take it a pay cut, go and visit it on the teams, come back, all those different things now shoot since we've been doing the countdown.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: 2022 Kyle use check was 14.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: 2023 it was 21.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: 2024 it was 20 last year was 29 this year 19.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: his second highest ever appearance.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: on the countdown and two rolls.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think his role is going to be increased early on in the season why kiddles out.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: Two, he's coming off his best year.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: I thought 2023 was his worst year as a pro.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that's when you got to take a roster cut, you're not as effective, whatever else.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: 2024 was better, 2025 was great.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 44, 612, 35, 35 years old?
- 56:36[SPEAKER_01]: Coming off your best season at 34.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: played out Harvard.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever heard that?
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: Never heard anybody say that before.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: He earned six letters in three sports in high school, played numerous positions of football, who is the basketball team's point card, and competed in track and field, two time captain for his football team.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let us team and both rushing and receiving the arts, national honor society,
- 57:12[SPEAKER_01]: Play for the Green Bay Packers, two-time all-American, tight-end, H-back, back to juice three time, all Ivy League section.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think we have more notes on Kyle use check than anybody else.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not going to skip one single line.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: We are going to be here to celebrate number 44, because he deserves it.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: Stu has been with the Niners for a decade, ladies and gents, a decade, Kyle use check, a decade.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: I so freaking awesome.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's Harvard's all-time leader in tight-ends and receptions receiving the Ernst touchdown receptions.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: He goes into free agency in 2017 and was Kyle used, it was Kyle Shanahan's first big signing, which is a fullback, and you're like, as that really a big signing.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's been here since.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: Top fullback paid on the market.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_01]: He had offers from the Eagles, Browns,
- 58:09[SPEAKER_01]: and they saw them to a four year 21 million dollar deal, which was insane back then.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_01]: He was getting paid kind of top 10 running back money to be a full back, but the 49ers sucked in 2017 before caution and people forget, forget Chip Kelly.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: You forget passing gas in the opening press conference.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_01]: you forget all those things shenan change that and part of bad teams change that is overpaying a free agency they had to do that here garson right that Malcolm said that that was one of the worst contracts ever uh but anyway juice was a perfect deal perfect largest contract in the NFL history for fullback he won the 2017 bill wash award
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: That goes to it's voted on by the coaching staff and given to the 49er who best represented the standard a professional excellence established by the Great Bill Walls.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: What an award man.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: Juice is that to a T to a T. He's a leader to voice on this team.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's a captain.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: very keep component and like even as wife is crazy famous like again I told this story before we've had Claire in uh Kristen come to one of our events before an Arizona and you mean I've been around Patrick Willis I've been around Jay rise Frank or you know all these different you know legends 49ers I saw grown men turn into middle school girls
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: when Chris and use Jack and Claire get a walk down and it was, it was a whole different thing like, guys, grab him arm, dude, you got to introduce, got it.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, do I do with that?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing?
- 59:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not why.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: But like, that's the thing.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she is incredibly famous, her fashion line incredible.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: And like, you see the fan show up to these rush road trips in our jackets.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so badass.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so cool, man.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Kyle, you check became the first fullback ever to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just played so much.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_01]: Man, um, he listened to his snap count.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: Just going back to 2021, 809 snaps and 21, 728, 2022, 654 and 2023.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that was his worst year.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_01]: 544 and 2024 and then 569.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think they found the sweet spot.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's that 20 to 30 snaps.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's where Kyle use checks effectiveness is maximized.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, how do you maintain that, which George Kittle being out?
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: Is he going to become a more permanent player?
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_01]: We found that 40 snaps again.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle use checks struggles a little bit.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's 35.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: That 20 to 30 snap range is kind of the perfect spot for him.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they keep him in that area.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_01]: it's just the efficiency goes down.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: It just does.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but he chose to take a pay cut.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: He chose to stay here.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: He said quote, love for the team in area.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: love it man.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_01]: 10 year 49er.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: One of the greatest honors, man.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: The last player to make the 10 year list was Joe Staley back in 2019.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_01]: That like, it's a rare, rare territory him and kiddo are hitting.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: 10 pro bulls for Kyle use text to all pros.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: What is freaking stud, man?
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: He just does everything he's the backup punt returner.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's the backup holder.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's the backup kicker.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's the backup punter.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_01]: He can do everything He's just Awesome man and every time he touches the ball.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter where you are.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to 26 stadiums in the NFL Every time Kyle you check it's the ball.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter where you are Jews a opposing fans do it
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the first time he'll get a touch at another stadium and all the nighters fans faithful travel better than anybody.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: And you hear juice and the fans be like, what is that?
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: Are y'all booing up?
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's Kyle use check.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_01]: We can't juice and then he gets another catch or another carry and then they'll do it.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's contagious.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: Niners need more chance.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_01]: They need more stuff.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_01]: We're really bad in that.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_01]: Levi's is terrible at it, but we need more of that.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_01]: We need more fan parts this baby.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you watch the world cup like Niners are just lacking, you go to some of these other stadiums, and they got their shit together.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: We do not.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: We need to come on 49ers.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: We need some solidarity and some freaking fan participation going.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: It games better.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: Juice is awesome.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_01]: That is incredible.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted by the Ravens of 2013.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: He played a long time.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: Fourth round pick.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: Number 130.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now this, sorry.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to hurt and put into context.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_01]: How long Kyle use tech has been playing, okay?
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_01]: He went one pick ahead.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle use check was picked one pick ahead of another 49er's player.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_01]: Marcus Latamore.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_01]: Ouch, the injury of all injuries, the Trent Bawke, you remember what it used to be like, never played one snap in the NFL, Mark East Latamone, Marcus Latamone on a South Carolina, he was supposed to be one of the best ever, that horrible injury.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_01]: 221 games, 174 starts, 6,400 snaps on offense, almost 2,000 special teams, snaps, 326 receptions, 3100 yards, 21 touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, does any player impact the game more without the ball in their hands?
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: He has the highest degree of difficulty for blocks every day and play.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_01]: Every single play.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_01]: He has the highest degree of difficulty.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_01]: George kills number two.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: You got if you put them in space and movement blocking like it.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's not as easy as tight ends and tackles and guards and sinners and wide receivers with a guy in front of me just block them.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_01]: No juice has to motion right stop pivot come back left block a guy that outweighs him by 50 pounds on the move.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_01]: Why the guy has full speed coming every single play.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a level 10 degree of difficulty.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: Every play for Kyle use check.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: All it does is deliver.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: It is a litmus test player.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: I use this term a lot.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: If somebody talks trash about Kyle use check and why do we need them, they do not watch football.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_01]: They do not understand football.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't like doing the condescending, blanket statements like that.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_01]: but it's 100% true.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you're talking to somebody and they're like, yeah, Kyle, you just checked so overrated, you don't really need him.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_01]: What impact does he does?
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: He only gets so many catches, so many, like, that is somebody that doesn't understand scheme, film, technique, none of it.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_01]: They don't.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_01]: Juuss is that damn important.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's that damn important.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's awesome, man.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: Career earnings, $46.2 million.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: For a full back, baby, woo!
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody has played full back.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just, yeah, I'm terrible.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: But like, that is awesome.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_01]: Here's one of one.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love this man.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how you check, like, come on man.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love this man.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: How do you not love this dude?
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_01]: I love it man.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see here.
- 1:05:52[SPEAKER_01]: Love me some juice.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: The tores.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: I still acknowledge how you check as my tribal chief in one true juice.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: Is intelligence on the fields off the charts?
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, atomic juice.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never forget meeting his wife in the stands in Arizona game, but I was mistakenly thought it was Kittles' wife.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's she put me in my place.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she feisty bro, both of them feisty bro, uh, but awesome, just incredible.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_01]: And Tori's juice was on fire last year, proof that when he's targeted more, he gets the job.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_01]: He just can't use one of the highest success rates in the NFL.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: Kits is everything, toe tap on the sideline.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: was the bear's game where Brock Perti rolls out to the left.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's covered, you know, steps back, steps up, retreats, then runs like you scrambling, then offloads it to Kyle use, check to standing in the corner of the end zone.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_01]: Juice was a part of that.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_01]: Juice was a part of that.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_01]: Port part of the locker room.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_01]: uh... notorious i remember this very well he says chappers remember two years ago when i was crying about she's not getting targeted and look at what he did last year uh... just consistent you know what i mean like that's the thing when you when you look at just what he does it's consistent and you know i started looking through let me pull up his
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_01]: profitable reference page and like yeah he led the NFL last year in success percentage when being targeted 78.6 that is he led the NFL he led the NFL that's awesome I mean he had 24 receptions for 213 yards two touchdowns 10 first downs 78.6% success rate
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_01]: That means when you throw the ball to Kyle use check 80% of the time, 8 out of 10 times, great things are going to happen.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_01]: That is off the charts.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_01]: A juice is powered by inferior varies.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_01]: Where do I put my feet?
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_01]: That is, that is awesome.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right here, Steven.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_01]: See you, Oxford released Harrison Bryant, the 40 and I just pick him up for camp.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't mind getting somebody in there and I think they will be able to do that once.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_01]: you put the pup in a file list out there, you're gonna get a couple more spots on that 91.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that's kind of a big deal.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'm with you in tight end is a major need.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_01]: You have somebody that has experienced like Harrison Bryant, that is a do it all kind of tight end.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the negative to all those teams drafting tight ends of the second to third round and having five to six tight ends on the roster.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now there's that too.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I just have two guys on their active roster.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_01]: George kiddo ain't gonna be practicing.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_01]: Clealed thinking thing gonna be practicing.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got to taunches?
- 1:09:03[SPEAKER_01]: You got Pharaoh.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Brandon Willis has been around for a long time.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_01]: You have Hayden Rucci.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_01]: Ain't enough.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_01]: Ain't no enough.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_01]: Ain't enough.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ben, juice another Iron Man.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: He is incredible.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_01]: To play the 26 games.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle used check missed.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_01]: One game in 2022.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_01]: So one, two, three, four, five, six, six.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_01]: Good second of season.
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle used check missed one game.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_01]: He missed a couple games in 2019.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: He missed four games.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_01]: for the 49ers.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's been seven games in 10 years.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_01]: That is insanity.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_01]: When you're colliding with defensive ends, linebackers, all the damn time.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it.
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_01]: to the chat is a bump in today, bro.

- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_01]: Atomic, thanks for the super chat, huge coming in strong.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for doing these roster countdowns, John.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know you and your crew put a lot of info into them.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_01]: They just a lot more in-depth look at the players and Niners fits.
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny, man, like, the countdown shows get the least amount of use.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I do, like, it is a constant,
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_01]: Assessment of what is my job and my value and I think a lot of people in this industry get caught up on clicks and views and downloads and I get it because that's where the dollars and cents come from.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_01]: It takes more work to do these countdown episodes and almost anything else and there are amongst my youngest lowest views.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And like from a business standpoint, we're like, yeah, don't do that.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do that anymore bullshit.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is my job.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody else doing it like this.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know aunt does his, you know, depth chart and other people do depth chart and that's great.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_01]: This is not taking shots anybody else.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is something that I think I placed value in.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_01]: our job as the 49ers Rush team is to educate people and to increase their fan experience.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I think for the, you know,
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_01]: a few thousand people that will watch and listen to this episode.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I really hope that this accomplishes this.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_01]: And if you spend time because what the best thing that happens is I'll be at training camp or a preseason game.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so by the way, oh, that's so and so.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_01]: And they'll call out like a practice squad player.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then we'll like, dude, I learned that guy's story from you.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_01]: And like that is, oh, you can't put a value on that, right?
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_01]: We achieved, but it's on me, I do want to say thank you, and that's why we do it.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, right here, David, hashtag CC, who's got a better than us?
