- 0:21right now. OK, so 10 lesson on Physical
- 0:23Signs of autism in girls. So first I'm going to talk about
- 0:25sensory processing issues. Now girls will experience
- 0:29essentially processing issues by being sensitive to touch sound
- 0:32like you know, seeking out sensory environments.
- 0:35Like they may really like plushies or like squish mellows
- 0:39or something like that. But then it also have an
- 0:40aversion to things like Velcro or slime, which is really
- 0:43interesting because you have century seeking out students and
- 0:45century avoiding us students as well.
- 0:47There was two is delay in motor skill development.
- 0:49Now this could be fine mode skills like picking up like pens
- 0:53or putting keys indoors to you know, macro was where you try to
- 0:56pick up a glass and not drop it. There's a physical sign of
- 0:58autism that will present themselves in females #3 is
- 1:01difficulty with social communication.
- 1:02Girls on autism spectrum will have a difficulty in social
- 1:05communication, which will be more apparent when they're
- 1:08trying to write a letter, incident message or but do like
- 1:11an academic kind of conversational piece.
- 1:13This will be struggling for them because they will not really
- 1:16understand the social implications of a conversation
- 1:18in social communication and before.
- 1:20It's repetitive behavior. This is kind of like doing the
- 1:22same thing over or again. It could be stimming, rocking
- 1:25backwards and forwards, hand flapping, you know, tapping
- 1:27their fingers together, twiddling their fingers
- 1:29together, twiddling their hair a lot, eating their hair.
- 1:32This is all self estimatory behavior or stimming, which is a
- 1:35repetitive behavior, but it's a physical kind of manifestation
- 1:38that you could recognize and notice difficulty with
- 1:41transitions. As is transitioning from being
- 1:43at school to being at home or vice versa, or being at home to
- 1:46being at the grocery store. All these things become very
- 1:48difficult, and what you'll find a lot of the time is the girl
- 1:51will really avoid doing the thing that has to change.
- 1:53So we'll just stay at home. We'll pretend to be sick so they
- 1:55stay at home. This will happen a lot.
- 1:57Especially in social situations, this will become more apparent.
- 1:59Number six is eating disorders. Actually, some girls will also
- 2:02will be picky eaters or have difficulty with food textures.
- 2:05Not to mention social pressure and peer pressure from school
- 2:07where it's more prominent in girls to have more anxiety
- 2:10around food since there's a social conventional with things
- 2:14like that for young girls which is horrible but it happens.
- 2:17Autism girls are are very well susceptible to that because of
- 2:19the neurological condition. The naivety of of social
- 2:22communication. Sometimes having sleeping issues
- 2:25has problems including like difficulty falling asleep,
- 2:27staying asleep, regulating sleep patterns.
- 2:29Actually hitting Bram is going to be difficult because the mind
- 2:32of an autistic female is going 1000 miles an hour and they are
- 2:34trying to regulate themselves constantly and could very well
- 2:38come out in sleep. Issues #8 is anxiety and
- 2:41depression because autism and neurological condition.
- 2:43It does cover mental health issues on anxiety and
- 2:45depression. Unfortunately some of the ugly
- 2:47ones that do rear their head for just like individuals who are
- 2:50female. So #9 is an unusual walk.
- 2:53So some females in the autism spectrum may have an unusual
- 2:55walking style. Now this could be down to a
- 2:58multi delay or a sensory processing issue where they
- 3:00could be experiencing the feeling of walking on the floor.
- 3:03Quite uncomfortable and quite difficult.
- 3:05So #10 is Hypertonia. Now Hypertonia is a low muscle
- 3:08density or low muscle tone which is like a physical sign of
- 3:11autism girls. Which means the micro
- 3:12development for holding pens and other kind of small objects will
- 3:15be difficult because they'll have low muscle tone in their
- 3:17actual arms and they could be actually diagnosed with
- 3:19something called hypermobility. Also.
- 3:21Now guys, if this video is interesting and educational,

- 3:27comments. Peace.
