Shooting at Sonny's Marathon Under Investigation | Charleston News
At 12:15 AM Thursday, deputies responded to Sonny’s Marathon on Boone Hill Road after reports of an armed burglary in progress. A confrontation ensued, resulting in gunfire—location and exact circumstances unclear. The suspect was not apprehended, and the victim, taken to the hospital, later died. Identity withheld pending official release. Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has transferred the case to the State Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. Updates expected later today.
