  Speaker 1: of happens. And good for the Huskies they were able

  Speaker 1: to you know, flip flop the momentum and get away

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we were fortunate, you know there, but

  Speaker 2: we were also unfortunate in Maui, where you know, Memphis

  Speaker 2: made some really hard shots and you know, we obviously

  Speaker 2: there were some things there, not to go back there,

  Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean Alex did some you know, some

  Speaker 2: some some heroic things there. Solo you know, did some

  Speaker 2: heroic things to uh, you know, to kind of you know,

  Speaker 2: dominant the team has been for a majority of the

  Speaker 2: last two years. And you know this is. This season's

  Speaker 2: just been a different experience, more of a grind. Yeah,

  Speaker 2: but we all just got to kind of stay with

  Speaker 2: it and just keep trying to get better. There's a

  Speaker 2: lot of positive things happening. We know we could be

  Speaker 2: in a better spot, but it also could be worse.

  Speaker 1: Yeah. You use that term last night in your post game.

  Speaker 1: You said it exhausted a couple times, and I mean,

  Speaker 1: you're getting me exhausted just calling these games because every

  Speaker 1: game seems like it's coming down to one or two

  Speaker 1: plays could go either way. You had the fifteen point

  Speaker 1: you felt like the team was playing, how they were

  Speaker 1: playing right there, because that looked like a damn good

  Speaker 1: Yukon basketball team right there, up by fifteen.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, might like Georgetown on the road, and you know,

  Speaker 2: you're up twenty three at Georgetown and like, you know,

  Speaker 2: you're stealing it, you're dunking it, you know, you're hitting threes,

  Speaker 2: you know you're you know, you're looking and and resembling

  Speaker 2: you know the teams of the past that get a

  Speaker 2: stop score, get a stop score, get a stop score,

  Speaker 2: time out, you know, levels of really high play. But

  Speaker 2: you know the reality of this year's team is we're

  Speaker 2: just you know, we're not good enough, We're not mature enough,

  Speaker 2: you know, to sustain it for a full forty minutes

  Speaker 2: of a game. We're not there, you know, will we

  Speaker 2: get there in a month? Could we get there? And

  Speaker 2: you know in six weeks by March? You know, you hope.

  Speaker 2: So you know we're gonna push, We're gonna push hard

  Speaker 2: for it. You're hopefully getting ah, you know, getting Liam back.

  Speaker 2: Everyone deals with injuries, you know, but the you know

  Speaker 2: the reality of it is when when you know, when

  Speaker 2: when you're when you miss game changing players, it has

  Speaker 2: a very negative effect. And you know, since Liam has

  Speaker 2: been out, all of the you know, all of the

  Speaker 2: ways that you measure a team, you know, we've gotten

  Speaker 2: worse in a lot of ways. So I think you know,

  Speaker 2: some players right now have you know, have taken some

  Speaker 2: big steps forward, especially guys like Solo or where we

  Speaker 2: need them to be. From an offensive standpoint, we got

  Speaker 2: great production from center spot last night. Alex played like

  Speaker 2: a guy that wanted the responsibility to carry the team

  Speaker 2: by taking seventeen shots and really being assertive. There's a

  Speaker 2: lot of positive things, but this is uncharted waters for us,

  Speaker 2: you know, we'll spoil.

  Speaker 1: That word was exactly what you said. I think yesterday

  Speaker 1: sounded like, spoiled. They want perfection, they want last year's team.

  Speaker 1: But this isn't last year's team. This is this year's team.

  Speaker 1: It's got some warts, but it's also got some you know,

  Speaker 1: beautiful things about it. So I guess. And the question is,

  Speaker 1: as a coaching staff, how do you say maintain that

  Speaker 1: positivity where you say, look, we did this well, we
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: did that well, and by the way we won the game.

  Speaker 1: By the way, we've won some close games, and by

  Speaker 1: the way, we're six and two in the Big East Conference.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I would just be you know, for

  Speaker 2: me too, of the fans, I guess it's like, you know,

  Speaker 2: I went through that earlier in the year and it

  Speaker 2: caused me problems in November as a coach, just this

  Speaker 2: entitlement of you know, thinking or in my mind that like,

  Speaker 2: you know, hey, look at the run that we've been on,

  Speaker 2: we all deserve better. I mean it's it's, uh, you know,

  Speaker 2: just to you know, appreciate, appreciate the team that you have.

  Speaker 2: You know, it's what we've given you the last couple

  Speaker 2: of years. Should just you know, buy us a little

  Speaker 2: bit of grace and that just how great we've been

  Speaker 2: cannot It's not a realistic expectation for every season that

  Speaker 2: you're going to have in the sport. I mean, like

  Speaker 2: what we're trying to do this year has never been

  Speaker 2: done before. I mean, what we did with the last

  Speaker 2: two years teams. You know, like there has been a

  Speaker 2: team that has won back to back national championships with

  Speaker 2: really different rosters. You know, like you know the amount

  Speaker 2: of people that we lost from from the first championship

  Speaker 2: to the second championship and now you know, with a

  Speaker 2: whole new, completely different roster except maybe you know one

  Speaker 2: or two guys or three guys excuse me, two of

  Speaker 2: which came off the bench. It's like we're trying to

  Speaker 2: do things that have never been done in our sport.

  Speaker 2: You know, just like, support the team. I know it's

  Speaker 2: frustrating and to not be where we've been, but you know,

  Speaker 2: like you know, just like support this team. We're giving

  Speaker 2: you everything we got.

  Speaker 1: Listen, there's no perfection in any of this stuff as

  Speaker 1: close as Yukon was to perfection in the last couple
