- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody. You're
- 0:08Speaker 1: listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now, one
- 0:11Speaker 1: and only. It is Steve Harvey. Yeah, I got a
- 0:16Speaker 1: radio show. Okay, this is a timely for everybody. I'm
- 0:22Speaker 1: sure I want to offer you all some encouragement, because
- 0:32Speaker 1: everybody needed. Let me tell you something. You strike out
- 0:37Speaker 1: on your goals, you strike out on your aspirations, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: so you strike out, as it happens to all of us.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Here it comes life. Life just hits one of them
- 0:53Speaker 1: bad notes as it always does, as it always does
- 0:58Speaker 1: for all of us, for everybody. Now, when those bad
- 1:05Speaker 1: notes happen, when the haters come out of nowhere, when
- 1:08Speaker 1: the setback comes up, when when the eye of nowhere appears,
- 1:14Speaker 1: when now I didn't see that coming comes, Here's here's
- 1:19Speaker 1: what you have to do. Here is the thing that
- 1:22Speaker 1: I have been teaching myself for years that I used
- 1:28Speaker 1: to not always understand. So I'm trying to give it
- 1:32Speaker 1: to you. You have to be encouraged anyway. Now that's difficult, Okay, Steve,
- 1:39Speaker 1: what you're talking about? You just told me all this
- 1:42Speaker 1: discouraging stuff that can happen, and you said you got
- 1:45Speaker 1: to be encouraged anyway. Yeah, man, you have to, because
- 1:53Speaker 1: what's happening to you right now, the thing that you're
- 1:56Speaker 1: going through right now, the thing that everybody's going going
- 2:00Speaker 1: through right now. Ain't nobody on smooth sailing. Man. Everybody
- 2:04Speaker 1: got something. And if they, if they don't smooth sailing,
- 2:07Speaker 1: just know this is coming. There's nothing I'm wishing on anybody.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It's just that this is life. This is how it
- 2:14Speaker 1: happens everybody. So please stop stop getting on the old
- 2:17Speaker 1: woe is Me bandwagon? Old lord? Why me, old lord?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Something always happened to me, something always happens to everybody.
- 2:28Speaker 1: But here's what you got to do. When you get
- 2:30Speaker 1: in moments like this. You got to be encouraged. You
- 2:33Speaker 1: got to remember in those times, in those times when
- 2:38Speaker 1: it's going wrong, you got to remember all that you've
- 2:42Speaker 1: been through. You got to remember all that you've come through.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You have to remember those other times when you felt
- 2:52Speaker 1: like this and somehow, unexplainably you don't even really stop
- 2:57Speaker 1: to say nothing about it changed for you. And the
- 3:02Speaker 1: problem that was is no more. And the situation that
- 3:07Speaker 1: seems so insurmountable, you got over it. You got around it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You got over it. Sometimes you just got to slide
- 3:17Speaker 1: right under it. Sometimes you got to plow through it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But in those times when it's discouraging for you, when
- 3:28Speaker 1: you feel like giving up, those are the test. Those
- 3:34Speaker 1: are the moments that will determine whether we make it
- 3:39Speaker 1: or not. I'll tell you one thing for sure. If
- 3:42Speaker 1: you give up in these moments, right here here is
- 3:45Speaker 1: a for show you'll never make it. That that's unquestionably
- 3:51Speaker 1: the deal. If you give up in these dark times,
- 3:56Speaker 1: if you give up in these what you think is
- 3:58Speaker 1: insurmountable moments, if you turn back now here is the
- 4:04Speaker 1: one thousand percent for sure you ain't gonna make it.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But there is a bright side to this situation. If
- 4:13Speaker 1: you keep your head down, if you keep forging, if
- 4:18Speaker 1: you keep pressing on. Sometimes, if you just stand there
- 4:22Speaker 1: and sometimes get knocked to your knees, but if you
- 4:25Speaker 1: stay in that place, if you just stay there and
- 4:28Speaker 1: ride the storm out, my head is bloodied but unbowed.
- 4:34Speaker 1: If you can just stay there, if you consider in
- 4:40Speaker 1: that moment and ride it out, you will win. You
- 4:47Speaker 1: will pass the test, and you will get to move
- 4:50Speaker 1: on to the next level. But there is no next
- 4:54Speaker 1: level without a test. You can't get to grade six
- 4:58Speaker 1: without passing GRI. You can't be a senior without first
- 5:04Speaker 1: being a junior. You can't graduate without fulfilling the hours
- 5:09Speaker 1: and requirements. You see, I don't care what you do
- 5:13Speaker 1: in life. Look at it. It's all set up on levels. Well,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you've got to accomplish the thing before in order to
- 5:21Speaker 1: get to the next level. And when you've made those
- 5:24Speaker 1: level accomplishments, you get to graduate. Now you can go
- 5:27Speaker 1: on and get a master's and a pH d. You
- 5:30Speaker 1: can go on and become rich. You can go become wealthy,
- 5:33Speaker 1: or you can go or you can go somewhere and
- 5:35Speaker 1: think yourself in another set of circumstances. But you got
- 5:38Speaker 1: to go through something to get to something. That ain't
- 5:41Speaker 1: nothing free. So you can stop that notion about being
- 5:44Speaker 1: successful that is easy. Come on, man, if it was easy,
- 5:48Speaker 1: what we don't what we're talking about. It is not easy.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Stop thinking it is. It is difficult. But I'll tell
- 5:57Speaker 1: you what's even more difficult than becoming successful. You want
- 6:02Speaker 1: to know what that is? Try not being successful your
- 6:05Speaker 1: whole life. That's hard. You are listening to a person
- 6:11Speaker 1: who has done them both been successful and really really
- 6:17Speaker 1: been not successful. And I got news for you. Both
- 6:21Speaker 1: of them hard. But I would rather deal with what
- 6:24Speaker 1: it is to be something, to make something out of myself,
- 6:28Speaker 1: to force myself to go to work when I don't
- 6:30Speaker 1: feel like it. This morning was a rough get up
- 6:33Speaker 1: for me, but I got up and I said thank
- 6:36Speaker 1: you anyway. Never give up, and out of watch this
- 6:40Speaker 1: dude to head to mess around and got close to
- 6:41Speaker 1: me because he just never gave up. Get You can
- 6:45Speaker 1: never ever give up. Never. It's not an option. Giving
- 6:50Speaker 1: up cannot be an option for you. You cannot do that.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It's out of the question. It's inconceivable in your mind
- 6:59Speaker 1: to quit, because to quit is to what what you
- 7:03Speaker 1: get when you quit nothing. That is a reward for
- 7:08Speaker 1: those who hang in there, who never give up, who
- 7:11Speaker 1: forge through, who see it through, who get knocked down
- 7:14Speaker 1: and get back up, who gets trampleed but somehow gathers
- 7:18Speaker 1: themselves and get back to your knees. But stay in
- 7:21Speaker 1: that place, man, don't ever give up. Don't let go
- 7:25Speaker 1: be encouraged. Think of all you've been through, Think of
- 7:27Speaker 1: all you come through, Think of all He's done for you.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Think of all the times you thought you wasn't gonna
- 7:33Speaker 1: make it. But somehow without you ever even saying thank you.
- 7:36Speaker 1: He got through He got you through it anyway. That's
- 7:38Speaker 1: that thing called grace. Now we kind of need that
- 7:41Speaker 1: in our life. All I will, all I need, is
- 7:44Speaker 1: a little more grace. You can't give God no money
- 7:48Speaker 1: for grace, man. Grace is absolutely free. It's available to everybody,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but you can't get none if you quit. Don't give up.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'll just tell you that flat out, don't ever give up.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening to, indeed, every morning show
