- 0:20Hey y 'all, I'm Hannah Liz, a Coastal Living,
- 0:22Jesus Living, NC native, and this is the Living
- 0:25Freed Podcast. where we discuss intentionally
- 0:29living our lives to the fullest that God has
- 0:31intended, having those late -night, open -heart
- 0:34friend convos, not letting others, ourselves,
- 0:36or ideas hold us down, allowing Jesus to free
- 0:39us of the chains that we didn't know we were
- 0:41holding onto. You can see the full show notes
- 0:44attached to this episode, and if you love this
- 0:47episode, please leave me a review. Here is a
- 1:00quick recap on what previously went down on the
- 1:04Living Freed podcast. Eight years old. Serena's
- 1:31my ride or die. Anyways, so Serena, what do you
- 1:34like about me? I'm just kidding. Where to start?
- 1:38Where to start? Can we start with what we don't
- 1:39like? 2026 is supposed to be something great.
- 1:44I already know it for so many reasons, but this
- 1:46would just be that cherry on top. It'd be something
- 1:49for the ages. Just imagine the story. Now I was
- 1:51in denial, but your aunt, your aunt, you know
- 1:54why we live here? Your aunt told me. Your aunt
- 1:57spoke and she told me. But she knew it. It wasn't
- 2:02that she hoped for it or thought it or what.
- 2:05She knew it. She said my husband was going to
- 2:09be here too. Look at your dad over there. I'm
- 2:11just kidding. Do you feel like you've been set
- 2:17up in that way in ministry because you've experienced
- 2:19the opposite? Oh yeah, 100%. I might be one of
- 2:24the most extroverted people you know. And many
- 2:26people tell me I'm extremely extroverted. But
- 2:29I also experienced extreme loneliness for the
- 2:33majority of my life. I can talk to anyone. I
- 2:38can befriend anyone. Finding those deeper relationships
- 2:40without feeling exclusion was a whole different
- 2:43ballgame. So knowing how people must feel when
- 2:47they cannot connect or don't know how to talk
- 2:49to people, and I do know how to talk to people.
- 2:52At least I don't have that excuse. It makes me
- 2:56feel for them. I don't want them to feel that
- 2:59way. So I'll go my way. And even if it's possible
- 3:04that they already know someone, I'd rather double
- 3:06check, you know, and then get them involved because
- 3:08I didn't have someone to do that for me. I had
- 3:12to do that myself. So they always say, go back
- 3:16to your roots when you're unsure. And I looked
- 3:19up, I knew there wasn't the CREC there, but I
- 3:23was like, let's, let's just look. First thing
- 3:26that kept coming up, Oceanside. Every time I
- 3:29saw the pictures, I was like, this reminds me
- 3:31of the places Hannah goes. No lie. There's places
- 3:33that Hannah goes. And you're always involved
- 3:36at the churches that you're at. I always loved
- 3:38that and always wanted to be. I was like, she
- 3:40always knows everybody. I know everybody, but
- 3:42she's very involved in the church know everybody.
- 3:46And so I was like, you know what, we'll try it.
- 3:47Maybe they have something. Like maybe this is
- 3:50it. I thought it was a lot bigger church than
- 3:51it was at the time. Yeah, I was surprised. When
- 3:54you had talked about it, I thought it was going
- 3:55to be bigger. And when I went, I was like, oh,
- 3:58like this is cute. And not cute in like a belittling
- 4:02way. Like I love, I think your church is the
- 4:04perfect size. I love my church, yeah. So we've
- 4:07grown. so much since the beginning. Um, so since
- 4:10I first started going there and so I got there
- 4:13that first day and one of the main things that
- 4:15I needed to happen was that someone had to reach
- 4:19out. I needed some introductions. Like how many
- 4:22times I would sit there in the pew and wait for
- 4:24someone. I would slowly walk to the exit. I don't
- 4:27know who to talk to. I don't know what to do.
- 4:30I know I'm extroverted. I know I can, but to
- 4:32me it was, I need to find a place that is extending
- 4:36their arm and trying to be welcoming to people.
- 4:41Should I quit my job? Should I quit my job and
- 4:46sit here and read the Bible for a couple more
- 4:49hours? Can I get away with that? Because I really
- 4:52do think like just that you said this once when
- 4:54you're headed to Puerto Rico, you're like, you
- 4:56can't know God. You truly cannot know God, God
- 4:59himself, like his personality, who he is without
- 5:02reading the word. You can't. sorry, I don't care
- 5:05who you are. Like you can have an idea of him.
- 5:07You can have, yeah, but it doesn't mean you know
- 5:10him, know him and knowing his character and who
- 5:13he is is so important. So you have to read the
- 5:15word. Um, and doing like that has such a big
- 5:18impact on my life. So I love that you, and it
- 5:21does help. You know, it's funny cause I recently
- 5:23ran across people that I don't think they'll
- 5:25ever experience that to the same. And I didn't
- 5:27realize that wasn't a thing that other people,
- 5:29they feel loneliness. Yeah. But not always to
- 5:33that level. Yeah. And you're like, oh, you've
- 5:35never, you've not ever had that denial like push
- 5:39off in the same way, I guess. A denial that Jesus
- 5:44had. Yeah. On a regular basis. Say that all the
- 5:47time. So you're not the only one. And he still
- 5:50moved forward. I bawled. Like there are times
- 5:55where I just, I felt so defeated. So incredibly
- 6:00done. To very, very drastic measures. But what
- 6:05was I saying? Oh, yeah. But, you know, with with
- 6:07a good relationship with God, it is so much easier
- 6:10to fight that off. There are so many things,
- 6:13including that are hard like that. I don't know
- 6:17how people get through life without it, without
- 6:19him supporting them in those. I always say to
- 6:21like and we have this conversation. When was
- 6:24the worship night? Friday night. I always say
- 6:26like I said this to you, like if you're experiencing
- 6:29it, be the change of it. You know, like if you
- 6:31felt left out, make sure somebody else doesn't
- 6:33feel left out in the future. If you see a hole,
- 6:35fill the hole. Like, be the one who shows up
- 6:38in that way for others. Another note, one other
- 6:41note, for people that feel left out or excluded
- 6:43or lonely, especially when you're trying to get
- 6:47involved, realize that those people that you
- 6:49want to be involved with that you're not having
- 6:51the chance to, maybe those aren't the ones you're
- 6:53being called to be around. There are other people
- 6:55around you. people that are your friends, that
- 6:57want to be your friends, that want to spend time
- 6:59with you, that maybe those are the ones God is
- 7:01calling you to be around, to minister to, to
- 7:03hang out with, to get to know, to also introduce
- 7:06them to other people. But your sole focus, and
- 7:11I am guilty of this, is on the people you want
- 7:13to be friends with that aren't wanting to be
- 7:15friends with you. It's so easy to see those and
- 7:18ignore those around you that you already have.
- 7:20But God has put those around you that you have
- 7:22for a reason. Do not take them for granted. dive
- 7:26into those relationships but you will you have
- 7:30a responsibility to others to care for them as
- 7:34they care for you so if or no is to to care for
- 7:39others like you want to be you know yeah If you
- 7:42don't want to be treated that way, don't treat
- 7:44the ones that are next to you that want to be
- 7:45your friend that way. Yeah. Of course you're
- 7:47not going to be friends with those other people
- 7:49you want to be friends with if you're doing the
- 7:50exact same thing they are. Yeah. I remember at
- 7:53one of the churches I went to, it was like when
- 7:56I first went to Wilmington, you went with me.
- 7:58There was like a group, I hate saying this, but
- 8:00like popular people. Yeah. Every church. They
- 8:02were the outsiders. And the group of the popular
- 8:04people wanted to be friends with me, which I
- 8:07appreciated at one point. At one point, I wanted
- 8:09to be their friend, but I also saw the tables
- 8:11sitting by themselves of the weird people. I
- 8:14mean, some of them were really strange. I thought,
- 8:17you possibly could have been a school shooter.
- 8:20But others just had disabilities, and that's
- 8:22why they were shunned, is for their disabilities
- 8:24or whatever. And I'm one of those people. I don't
- 8:27care. Like, I just don't care what you have going
- 8:29on in life. I'll hang out with you. I just don't
- 8:32need to be lonely. And I remember I got pulled
- 8:34aside, like, by someone in a conversation. They're
- 8:37like, oh, we're going to go do this thing. I
- 8:39said, cool. Like, can I tell everybody else?
- 8:40And they're like, no, no. Like, why are you always
- 8:42hanging out with those other people? Like, why
- 8:44are you not hanging out with us? I was like,
- 8:45I'd love to hang out with y 'all. But I also
- 8:48don't want to have these people continue to feel
- 8:50like exiles at church. Yeah. Of all places. Yeah.
- 8:54Like, that's embarrassing for us. And then they
- 8:58started to exile me from, like, the cooler group
- 9:01because of that. I know exactly what you're talking
- 9:02about. And that sucked at heart because I wanted
- 9:05to be friends with these people. But I also didn't
- 9:07want all these other people to feel shunned.
- 9:10That just wasn't the vibe. Sorry. Not the vibe
- 9:13I'm giving off. There is a nice balance. It's
- 9:16not that you can't have relationships with those
- 9:17people. But if you're exclusively hanging out
- 9:19with them and not letting other people, you know.
- 9:23poured into again or be pouring to you then you're
- 9:27not only being selfish and withholding but uh
- 9:31yeah there's selfish and withholding this you're
- 9:35doing both things you're hurting yourself and
- 9:36you're hurting them it's not just them that's
- 9:38being hurt there yeah exactly um yeah if there's
- 9:41nothing wrong with having your friend group and
- 9:43hanging out with them but if you are constantly
- 9:46only doing that and shunning other people it's
- 9:48not that is not right yeah So I think there is
- 9:51definitely a balance, and I completely see what
- 9:54you're talking about. Yeah. You have to have
- 9:59your friendships. They're not sure if they can
- 10:01hang out with some people. They're not sure if
- 10:03they have to hang out with everyone. You don't
- 10:05have to do one or the other. You can do both.
- 10:07Exactly. Find a balance. Yeah. Find a way to
- 10:11be able to include everyone, but also you can
- 10:13still have your friendships. You can. Are you
- 10:15like this when you are talking? Yeah. I'm picturing
- 10:19everything and I assume everyone is following
- 10:21along the pictures in my head and like the PowerPoint
- 10:25that goes on my head. I'm like, this is why I
- 10:27think this to this, to this, to this. And in
- 10:30my head, it makes sense. And other people are
- 10:32like, well, how did you get there? How did you
- 10:34jump from this to this? It makes sense. I think
- 10:36I see. It's the ADHD. It's the ADHD. Well, you
- 10:42should, if you think you're bad, you should go
- 10:44listen to me and Caitlin's, Caitlin Phillips.
- 10:46Caitlin Dietz and I, we stay on track. Caitlin
- 10:50Phillips and I add multiple people message me
- 10:52and they're like, love to the podcast. We have
- 10:54no idea what the two of you are talking about.
- 10:56I believe those. Truly. Hers is a little unchecked.
- 11:00I'm not going to lie. Yeah. For me, sometimes
- 11:02I have a really hard time, but I try so hard
- 11:04to keep it on point, but it's really hard. That's
- 11:06why I make PowerPoints for myself. Like I could
- 11:09show you the many, many, many like check marks.
- 11:14So I stay on track when I'm doing this myself
- 11:16because it's so easy to get off. And I will ramble.
- 11:21Like sometimes I catch myself rambling and I'm
- 11:23like, I don't know where that came from. But
- 11:25anyways. I have something else to say. Like,
- 11:28you know, it's bad. It gets weird. Because you
- 11:31can't, especially if you're just chatting. Yeah.
- 11:33Like, me and Caitlin Dietz, when we do it, because
- 11:35she's been on a couple times, we stay on track
- 11:39for the most part. But how our rabbit trails
- 11:42go is they loop back around eventually. Yeah.
- 11:44So, like, we might make a right -hand turn, but
- 11:47we're going to keep making that right -hand turn
- 11:48until we, like, we match back up. I don't, I
- 11:52feel like editing this, and I know it's not.
- 11:56I know you started this not for you, but because
- 11:58you felt the calling for it. And I think that's
- 12:00amazing. But if I had to listen to myself say
- 12:03as many times as I know, I've said it because
- 12:06I can't. You know what's worse? You know what's
- 12:07worse is my breathing. I edit this thing and
- 12:12I'm like, damn, I cannot tell you how often I
- 12:15go, damn, Hannah, you can't breathe. The amount
- 12:19of deep breaths I go. So then I said, like, I
- 12:24literally. I get so pissed at myself. I'm like,
- 12:26wow, are we learning to breathe for the first
- 12:28time every time we record this podcast? I don't
- 12:31know. You know when you're on the phone with
- 12:33a friend and you realize how much they talk with
- 12:37a weird thing that just clicks you? Yeah. Okay.
- 12:40Please. Why are you clearing your mouth and sucking
- 12:43your tongue? I'm so sorry to say this. I'm so
- 12:46sorry to say this. At worship, prayer worship
- 12:48night, there's this girl that prayed. And if
- 12:52I hear Lord Jesus. one more time i was gonna
- 12:55leave the room because the prayer and lord jesus
- 12:59we just thank you so much lord jesus for the
- 13:01day and the night that you've provided lord jesus
- 13:04and everyone that could be your lord jesus because
- 13:06you are such a good father lord jesus and we
- 13:09just want to thank you jesus christ at least
- 13:11you would randomly switch up i was like i had
- 13:16a shot for every time she said lord jesus i would
- 13:19be blacked out right now oh my god I don't even
- 13:24know what to say to that. I can't say that I've
- 13:25never noticed it. I'm so glad you haven't noticed
- 13:28it. No, I'm saying I can't say I have not noticed
- 13:31it. Most definitely have noticed that. She's
- 13:34not the only person that does that, though. A
- 13:35lot of people do it. And that's like their go
- 13:38-to. It's a common. And I don't know if it's
- 13:40a filler. It is. It's a replacement for an um.
- 13:43It really is. But the word, like, you know, his
- 13:46name is powerful, so I understand there. I think
- 13:49that there have been a couple of times where
- 13:50I've been like, I feel like this prayer is just
- 13:53Lord Jesus. Yeah. Which is a powerful prayer
- 13:56in and of itself, for sure. Yeah, you can say,
- 13:58there's times that all I say is Jesus. Yeah,
- 14:00of course. It's one word prayer. Sometimes I
- 14:02don't know what else to say. Yeah, but I was
- 14:05just standing there. And I really did think Serena's
- 14:08going to hate me, but I have to walk out of this
- 14:10room. Did you walk out? No. Oh. I was standing
- 14:12right next to you. I know. I know. I contemplated
- 14:15it. I contemplated it. No, no. I contemplated
- 14:18it. Honestly, that night turned out to be great.
- 14:21So many people showed up more. And that was our
- 14:23first night. Plug. Oceanside. Young adults. Last
- 14:27Friday of every month. Plug. We're in Boca. Be
- 14:30there. Show up. Yeah, be there. It's a great
- 14:33night, great time to get to know other people
- 14:36and worship Jesus Christ. That's right. Make
- 14:38friends. Yeah, make friends. Maybe don't be so
- 14:40lonely. Come say hi. I shamelessly plug salt
- 14:43all the time. Salt? My church, salt. Oh, salt.
- 14:47Salt. I thought you were saying shamelessly plug
- 14:49salt. No, salt. No. All the time, though. I'm
- 14:53like, my church, salt, we did this. Or you should
- 14:56come to salt. Or if you're in the one we took,
- 14:57like all the time. Oceanside, too. When I first
- 15:02started going there, I know there was a good
- 15:05amount of people that were staying there, members.
- 15:08But I think maybe this is just my view, but it
- 15:12looked like it was maybe 20 people in there.
- 15:15And sometimes that was the people that were serving
- 15:16too. Yeah. But we were at the tail end of COVID.
- 15:20Oh, yes. And then it started kind of growing.
- 15:23And then 2025. the growth was so much crazy we
- 15:28well we went to two services probably 24 25 something
- 15:32like that we finally went to two services and
- 15:34grew and grew and we fell both services so many
- 15:39times um now which is crazy now we're looking
- 15:41for a new building um we have i was gonna say
- 15:44a lot when i was there i was thinking y 'all
- 15:47are gonna need a new building soon yeah we're
- 15:48looking for one right now so yeah If anybody
- 15:53has a building they want to give away for free,
- 15:54I guess. Don't eat here. We would be very grateful.
- 16:01What else could we be? That would be it. What
- 16:03an amazing thing that would be. Is that the confirmation
- 16:05you need? I'm just kidding. No, but my church,
- 16:08they basically had that happen where someone
- 16:12just gave them the land and they started building
- 16:13on it. I'm not surprised. Yeah. So many times
- 16:16that we've been gifted plenty of things that
- 16:20have helped the church for sure. Yeah. There
- 16:24are so many times the church itself would not
- 16:27be able to continue without other people giving
- 16:30when they feel God calling them to give. Some
- 16:34people, that is their calling. Do you tithe right
- 16:37now? Oh, yes. Do you strictly only tithe to church
- 16:40or do you do additional tithes to nonprofits
- 16:44or the local? Even if I'm making the lowest amount
- 16:50or not even getting paid my checks when I'm supposed
- 16:53to be getting paid, 10 % is always. That's a
- 16:56non -negotiable. My parents were very good about
- 17:01showing us how to do that early on. You give
- 17:0310, you'll do more with your 90 than your 100.
- 17:06Yeah, that's so true. So you're tied. That's
- 17:09important. As far as charities and everything,
- 17:12there are... Most of the time I was giving to
- 17:15one. As of right now, there's none that I am
- 17:17specifically giving to. Oceanside is doing, they
- 17:21always have something going on, but I can't say
- 17:24that I have anything going on with those either.
- 17:26But Urban Impact, I think it's called Urban Impact,
- 17:30was one that I was dealing with as of the longest
- 17:35period of time. What do they do? I got to remember,
- 17:39but you remember Zachary McClellan? Yeah. Him
- 17:42and his wife. used to deal with that ministry.
- 17:45Oh. And it was, I believe, it all went to kids,
- 17:50helping kids. And I need to look back at it,
- 17:56but it's a great one. And when I was with AMN,
- 17:59they would double whatever I would give to them,
- 18:02which was really nice too. Hold on. Can I look
- 18:04it up? Yeah. Okay. Because right now I tithe
- 18:06to church every time I get paid, but then. I
- 18:09take my tips separately and I give 10 % of my
- 18:14tips to Eden Village, which is like a homeless
- 18:17community where they build homes for like the
- 18:21displaced. And they help them build their own
- 18:25home. They don't just give them one, which is
- 18:26cool. And then I go and I volunteer there too.
- 18:28But I was just curious if you only did one or
- 18:31if you. tried to do both yeah i'm i'm a little
- 18:34hesitant this isn't i'm a little hesitant with
- 18:38many charities because there are a lot of people
- 18:41doing things with charities saying it's going
- 18:44towards people that it's not and i think this
- 18:46is one of the things going back to what we're
- 18:47talking about do your research yeah make sure
- 18:50these people are actually giving their money
- 18:52to where they're supposed where they're saying
- 18:54they're giving them your money to or whoever's
- 18:57money When I didn't have a church to go to, I
- 19:00was still tithing 10%, so I would give it to
- 19:03the charities or churches in that area because
- 19:07it's still God's money. It's not my money. I
- 19:09would do it as if I could give it to a charity
- 19:12like Urban Impact. What they do is changing lives,
- 19:17one person, one family, one block at a time.
- 19:20So what they do is they reach youth on the north
- 19:23side of Pittsburgh through programs like athletics,
- 19:25education, performing arts, and options. So the
- 19:28kids can go do things after school, during school,
- 19:31like all times. They have stuff going on for
- 19:33them. But ministry is there. The reason I decided
- 19:36to give to that one, and I'm sure people could
- 19:38argue there are better ones, is because I knew
- 19:41that money was going to take care of those kids.
- 19:43I knew that money. was there taking care of people
- 19:46that I knew were biblically sound and that were
- 19:50passionate for God's word, were passionate for
- 19:55his ministry. So I chose that ministry. If I
- 20:00could look at other ones and know that it was
- 20:02like that. I would be more than happy to donate
- 20:06there. But unless God is telling me without me
- 20:09researching, oh, you need to give money right
- 20:11now to this one, then you're not going to catch
- 20:13me doing that because I think he's a logical
- 20:14God. And if he tells you to do something, obviously
- 20:18do it. But if he's not telling you to do it,
- 20:20he probably wants you to make an educated decision.
- 20:23He's a very educated God. He's an all -knowing
- 20:26God. He's an all -knowing God. I was going to
- 20:28say, I don't know if logical would always be
- 20:29the first thing I would use to describe God,
- 20:32but all -knowing is definitely the word I would
- 20:35use. He is a factual God, I would say. No, it's
- 20:39going back to just really quickly, yeah, you
- 20:41need to do your research when it comes to charities
- 20:45and the word of God. I'm sick and tired of people
- 20:48saying, posting things, and it's like the Bible
- 20:50says this, but it doesn't. Okay. Let's say you
- 20:54pull a verse. Context, please. You can't just
- 21:00pull a verse and say this is what God says. Yeah.
- 21:03Oh, it pisses me off. It's also the context of
- 21:08who are they writing to? Not just this verse.
- 21:12Read the chapter. Yeah. What's the history? Why
- 21:17did Peter write this to somebody? And then what
- 21:20was going on at that time in the church? Was
- 21:23he telling people to be quiet for their safety?
- 21:26Was he telling, you know, there's so much more.
- 21:29There's so much. People are tainting it to what
- 21:31they want it to be. It drives me. And understand,
- 21:34freaking do your research. I'm so sorry. That
- 21:37drives me crazy. is the whole they just take
- 21:40out a context or they don't know the context
- 21:42or the history behind why like the letters it's
- 21:45always it always comes back to the letters i'm
- 21:47like do you not understand at that historical
- 21:50moment something was happening and they asked
- 21:53paul or they asked whoever to write a letter
- 21:56so he did to deal with that situation because
- 21:59someone was sleeping with their mother yeah do
- 22:01you eat do you really also also can we also say
- 22:04i think it's funny that we get passionate about
- 22:06this we don't actually talk to people like how
- 22:08dare you you idiot yeah wait sorry excuse wait
- 22:11sorry how dare you you dummy you idiot um i was
- 22:16gonna say just because there is a story in the
- 22:22bible of someone doing something like having
- 22:26many wives doesn't mean it wasn't right just
- 22:28because god didn't step in on every single person
- 22:31yeah and go how dare you doesn't mean it was
- 22:34right just like you have free will god gave you
- 22:37free will he told you what was right or wrong
- 22:39now it's your choice to do that there are some
- 22:41people of course he chose to discipline publicly
- 22:44while other people chose to sin and they would
- 22:46have had their own private yes but just because
- 22:51something was a story was told in the bible doesn't
- 22:54mean all the time that you can just have five
- 22:57wives because oh they did it they did it here
- 23:00well maybe look at what god said first yeah god
- 23:03says just because they did it and they weren't
- 23:04struck down doesn't mean they were right and
- 23:06okay yeah or people like to talk about um sorry
- 23:10for anyone listening and this is graphic but
- 23:12like in judges when the one guy kicked his concubine
- 23:16out and she was sexually assaulted by the whole
- 23:18town to the point where she died um and people
- 23:22like to use it as an excuse they're like well
- 23:24the bible permitted permits essay i'm like no
- 23:27it actually doesn't that was like showing the
- 23:29history of when israel was walking without god
- 23:32because they had judges god was not with them
- 23:35god was not walking with them that's the whole
- 23:38point or like There was a reason that they got
- 23:40destroyed. Believe it or not, not someone personally,
- 23:43but I was TikTok because I'm chronically online.
- 23:45Someone was trying to defend incest. And they
- 23:48were like, well, Lot's daughter slept with him
- 23:49to reproduce. And I'm like, that's what we're
- 23:51going with? Lot's two daughters? Who had nations
- 23:56that were also so incredibly heathenous. Yes.
- 23:59I'm like, that's great. Let's totally go with
- 24:02that. I don't know. It's just that... Those ones
- 24:06are hard sometimes. You watch that and you're
- 24:08like, how could that be okay or allowed? Or how
- 24:11could Lot do that? Yeah. But I think some people
- 24:13need to realize that Lot was not saved because
- 24:16he was like... He also was drunk at the time
- 24:20when his daughter was... Well, Lot was... They...
- 24:23saved him because of abraham yes abraham was
- 24:26asked him to see yes because of abraham's relationship
- 24:29with god lot was saved not because lot had a
- 24:32great relationship with god that doesn't say
- 24:34they had a great relationship with god no his
- 24:36actions would actually show that he probably
- 24:38did not have a great relationship with god if
- 24:40he found 10 men that were christians they would
- 24:44have sodom and gomorrah would not have had to
- 24:46perish lots house to think that not even have
- 24:49servants up to that point you know not even christians
- 24:53righteous it didn't was even like you abraham
- 24:55said god if you have 10 people that know you
- 24:59and love you and save them he said someone righteous
- 25:01righteousness does not have to do with knowing
- 25:04god this is also a good opportunity to say your
- 25:07relationship with god can change other people's
- 25:10lives oh well it's not all the time it's relationship
- 25:12with abraham because if abraham's relationship
- 25:15with god lot had a chance to continue living
- 25:20and change change his life you can't say that
- 25:24he did we don't know crap i don't know a lot
- 25:27lot about lot i know enough about lot to be like
- 25:29he was not he wasn't saved because of his righteousness
- 25:33that's yeah yeah but my favorite thing what i'm
- 25:37doing one of the things i'm doing in the bible
- 25:39right now is all my highlighters mean a different
- 25:42mean a different thing each color and yellow
- 25:45is like a promise from god so every time god
- 25:48makes a promise or declares something then i
- 25:51highlight it in yellow so that because then you
- 25:54always see it come to fruition i've always always
- 25:58always seen it come through like i just finished
- 26:00isaiah this morning But even when you were doing
- 26:03worship practice Sunday morning, I was going
- 26:05through Isaiah. There was like 10 verses in a
- 26:08row. I was just highlighting all yellow. And
- 26:10one of your friends snuck up on me and they're
- 26:11like, hey. And I was like, I look like I'm just
- 26:12coloring my Bible yellow. if you don't know what
- 26:16i'm doing i'm just it's the sunshine um but it
- 26:18was because it was just a big long promise of
- 26:22god talking about how he was going to come and
- 26:24save not just his nation but all the nations
- 26:26and jesus and blah blah blah it was very descriptive
- 26:28and i was like oh yellow because jesus comes
- 26:31in a couple books later a couple books later
- 26:33um and it's been cool to see like god's he is
- 26:37he's a planner too like he makes a promise he's
- 26:39very logistic with it and then he falls through
- 26:44yeah yeah um all right well that's kind of it
- 26:48wait let's see let's see i want to see what question
- 26:51i have for you oh give me a question okay um
- 26:54have you do you feel like you've seen god move
- 26:57in any way this week after come to florida i
- 27:01don't mean no listen i mean like anything recent
- 27:05that comes to mind you're like oh yeah this is
- 27:07a god move not i'm not talking about my call
- 27:11to saying that you're called to be here in florida
- 27:13and i rarely say that kind of stuff yeah one
- 27:15yes i know but uh i was gonna say i mean yourself
- 27:21you come here and you're like yeah this is a
- 27:24god thing i I wouldn't say a God thing. I would
- 27:29say I got a lot of clarity this week, if that
- 27:32helps. One of those things being that I really,
- 27:37really, really love where I work and that I really,
- 27:41really, really love where I have my church and
- 27:44like my church at home. Like I'm very, very clear
- 27:47on that. But that it felt very solidified for
- 27:51me that I'm not meant to be in Wilmington long
- 27:53term. where I'm meant to be I'm unsure but like
- 27:58even walking this morning I walked to the beach
- 28:00and then I walked up and I got Chick -fil -a
- 28:03and then from Chick -fil -a I walked over to
- 28:05Whole Foods and I bought the stuff and then I
- 28:06walked over and I was like wow this is so nice
- 28:09this feels this feels like California I'm just
- 28:12gonna interrupt you right there I can't you're
- 28:15you're baiting me but continue but then I was
- 28:19like you know I'm making the pasta or whatever
- 28:21I'm like I can't wait for Serena to get home
- 28:23and I was like standing in your kitchen, like
- 28:26looking into your living room. And I was like,
- 28:30wow, like this feels kind of homey. Like, could
- 28:33I see myself looking at this view? Yes. I'll
- 28:36answer for you. And the answer was yes. But then
- 28:39I thought, okay, I really wouldn't, I would really
- 28:42need to pray a lot more about it. But I would
- 28:43say I got a lot of clarity on what I do love,
- 28:45which is I love my church. I'm so thankful for
- 28:48my church. I wish I could pack them all up and
- 28:50bring them with me wherever I go. And same thing
- 28:53with my job. But I think what I'll say I got
- 28:58clarity on is community. And I love, this is
- 29:03so much shade. I feel bad. I love the friends
- 29:05I have in Wilmington, but I don't have any like
- 29:07God, like hardcore running after friends that
- 29:12are girls. And every time I'm with you, it reminds
- 29:15me how much I miss that because Cassidy was that
- 29:17and she moved and McKenna was that and she moved.
- 29:20And so. Losing just those two people has made
- 29:24being in Wilmington a lot harder because my other
- 29:25friends that I love that have a relationship
- 29:28with Jesus aren't running and aren't in. haven't
- 29:32picked up like the gauntlet to run with I guess
- 29:34and I know sometimes they like even say like
- 29:36you're a little serious about this like they
- 29:38have said they're like we love you we love your
- 29:40post but you do come off like really serious
- 29:42about so serious but yeah yeah I'm like but I
- 29:46want you guys to be like I won't call me and
- 29:48be like oh my gosh guess what Jesus did in my
- 29:49life yeah today or what happened but I would
- 29:52call you and you would be equally excited um
- 29:54so like that I had a lot of clarity I would say
- 29:57while I've been here Let me tell you, and I don't
- 30:00mean this in any trying to persuade way, but
- 30:03first I will say I told you that this area was
- 30:06going to give you a little reminder of California.
- 30:08And I also told you that this area is so nice.
- 30:11The way that you can walk over, and I knew you
- 30:13were going to love that so much is in this walking
- 30:17distance. You've had my car one time this entire
- 30:20time you've been here, and you've just walked
- 30:21places. You bought your stuff from Whole Foods.
- 30:24Trader Joe's is right there. Plenty of restaurants.
- 30:28publics. So we're pretty freaking set. It's awesome.
- 30:31Also. Okay. And then, um, the second thing is
- 30:34sometimes I realized this week, I'm like, I feel
- 30:37so happy, like extra joyful, just almost like
- 30:41a calm and a wittiness that has come back that
- 30:45not saying that I don't have that. I love the
- 30:48relationship I have with has so many people here,
- 30:50but I came to realize I was in my room earlier.
- 30:52I was like, this is, I think this is cause Hannah's
- 30:54here because I, There is such a banter that comes
- 30:58with us and a familiarity. But even with my friends,
- 31:02it was when I was at work, I was like, why am
- 31:05I? The way that I was reacting to people is how
- 31:08I would in the beginning when you first are with
- 31:10them. And there's almost like this excitement
- 31:12there. I wasn't even excited. It's not they were
- 31:14doing anything exciting, but I just felt like
- 31:17exciting again. Yeah. But that kind of comes
- 31:20with really great friendships. Yeah, it does.
- 31:22I love my friendships here. But all of us right
- 31:25now, a lot of my friends, we have so much going
- 31:27on in our lives. So we're not all that. But you
- 31:29and I have known each other for so long. So long.
- 31:31Even when we're crazy in life. there's still
- 31:34that feeling when you're around each other. We
- 31:36always pick up where we left off. And I think
- 31:38it's very comforting for me to have that. Proximity
- 31:41with me. And we're not really talking too much
- 31:43or we don't like, it's not like we're doing anything.
- 31:46I still, it's like this comfort and a peace and
- 31:48a relaxation. I slept the last couple of nights
- 31:51where I would usually be so exhausted. And I
- 31:55feel like as the nights have gone on, it's almost
- 31:58been like more peace. And I don't know if it's,
- 31:59you know, you have good relationships around
- 32:01you. It makes a big difference. It does. It makes
- 32:04a big difference. I think that if you did live
- 32:06here, being around someone that loves God so
- 32:14much is an encouragement for you. It is. To continue
- 32:18to do that. It's like a mirror that you need
- 32:20to look at. And sometimes when you don't have
- 32:22that encouragement or someone walking with you
- 32:24doing that, it makes it harder. Yeah. My friends
- 32:27do it. Obviously, Hugo does it. It's not like
- 32:29they don't. But when you're with somebody. Yeah.
- 32:32They're so close to you. They're in that room
- 32:34right there. And that's how they're living their
- 32:35life. It's such an encouragement that you can
- 32:37do it too. I think too, for me. I, the last time
- 32:42I lived with someone that was like that was besides
- 32:44when you would come out to California and stay
- 32:46with me for a long time, was with Caitlin Phillips.
- 32:49And now where I'm at, I think I'm, I know so
- 32:54many people are going to hear this, their feelings
- 32:55are going to be hurt, but I'm almost spiritually
- 32:57exhausted because I'm constantly, first off.
- 33:02It's been hard because keeping yourself, because
- 33:04what I'm about to say is going to sound so prideful
- 33:06and trust me, I know, but keeping yourself humble
- 33:08when you're in this situation is hard. When you
- 33:10are the wisest person in the room, when it comes
- 33:13to biblical things and Jesus, and you're always
- 33:17giving wisdom out and you're always, always,
- 33:18always giving wisdom out with sound as biblical
- 33:21proof, but then no one can do it for you. It's
- 33:24hard. Okay. It is so hard. And that's why I enjoy
- 33:27spending time with you because you will clock
- 33:30me. Like even last night, like we don't fully
- 33:32agree on things based on the conversation we
- 33:34were having and that's okay. But we both had
- 33:38our own biblical verses that we go off of and
- 33:41that's fine. But somebody else would never do
- 33:43that with me. Like everybody else would be like,
- 33:44oh, I see the verses that you're pulling. Okay,
- 33:46cool. I agree with you now. And it's hard. And
- 33:50it's been hard for me to stay humble because
- 33:52I'm the wisest person in the room. And that's
- 33:55hard, keeping yourself humble. And it becomes
- 33:57self -righteous. It just has a hole. beg God
- 34:01in my prayers every day like I'm not even asking
- 34:03for things except for keep me humble keep me
- 34:05humble don't let me get prideful keep me humble
- 34:06because it's exhausting to be that person as
- 34:09I've we talked about the other day this reminds
- 34:11me of just like we grew up asking a lot of questions
- 34:14yeah our families encourage us to ask questions
- 34:17they ask questions of us so it was very common
- 34:19for and it's not like anyone's fault that they
- 34:22don't know the same stuff I think if you have
- 34:24a fire for the Lord that's what matters first
- 34:26yeah and then progressing through that not knowing
- 34:29the most but it does make a difference when there's
- 34:32someone else that can go back and forth yeah
- 34:35someone there are a few people at my church that
- 34:37are so nice to talk to because because of that
- 34:42reason one of them actually who's really nice
- 34:46to talk to about this kind of stuff is caleb
- 34:47him uh and he always has seems to really dig
- 34:54in recently um there's been other people that
- 34:57they're just digging in so much more now and
- 35:00you can see yeah that fruit coming out but it's
- 35:04really encouraged to get to know it some of the
- 35:06girls are you can see yeah since i've been there
- 35:09for the last three years you can see the knowledge
- 35:11that they've gotten from there they had a relationship
- 35:13they had like a base relationship with like that
- 35:15knowledge of doing yeah but you're very much
- 35:17right without having like i would i would say
- 35:21even last night at the bonfire they were talking
- 35:23about spiritual warfare And I don't know if you
- 35:27know this, like, is everything okay? Yeah, no,
- 35:30he just asked. He asked if I was okay. I just
- 35:33haven't answered because I don't want to, like,
- 35:34you know, we're in this. I want to answer now.
- 35:36I was eavesdropping on their conversation because
- 35:38I don't know if you know this, but I, like, did
- 35:39a whole deep dive episode on spiritual warfare
- 35:42because of my family's history and all that.
- 35:45And it was funny because I, like, caught them
- 35:47catching themselves. They were like, well, like.
- 35:49He can possess you. Well, he can't possess you,
- 35:51but he can put oppression on you. They're a prime
- 35:53example of people that are digging in. And I
- 35:55loved it. And the only thing I was going to say
- 35:58that I didn't correct them on, because I knew
- 36:00they don't know me, so I was going to be like,
- 36:02oh, you're wrong on this, is they kept saying
- 36:04he and speaking about the devil himself coming
- 36:08to it. They were like, the devil can oppress
- 36:11you. That's just the bit I heard. And I want
- 36:15to say when it comes to that, yes, but no. Because
- 36:18the devil can oppress you, but why would he choose
- 36:22you? He's not omnipresent. He's not omniscient.
- 36:25I can't speak anymore. You know what I'm saying?
- 36:27Like, he's one. He's one. God is. And when they
- 36:32do that, when people, this gets me, and again,
- 36:34I did a whole episode on it because it's one
- 36:36of those things that gets me. When people put
- 36:37the devil on Jesus' or God's level, thinking
- 36:40he's all over, he's one thing, he's not. He can
- 36:43focus on you or he can focus on me. Guess what,
- 36:46baby girl? He can't focus on both of us. preach
- 36:48oh my what a thing to learn tonight but i never
- 36:51even thought about that and so i like and i loved
- 36:53listening to them have that conversation it was
- 36:56like very life -giving so i was eavesdropping
- 36:58you should have said that they would love that
- 36:59i well i didn't know your friends and i was trying
- 37:02to be respectful of beliefs or thoughts or all
- 37:06that but anyways like he can definitely send
- 37:08one a minion can be watching the devil the spirits
- 37:11not the devils the spirits do watch they're on
- 37:13this world they're roaming they're aware they
- 37:16can hear everything they're taking clock they're
- 37:19clocking your patterns absolutely one of them
- 37:22can target you one of them the likelihood of
- 37:25the devil watching you me and uncle bob down
- 37:27the road not happening and the likelihood of
- 37:30the devil thinking i'm important enough to come
- 37:33for by himself no yeah he could but they're probably
- 37:36not coming in after me what a great but still
- 37:39so anyways but i love to see them like have that
- 37:42conversation because those conversations do not
- 37:45happen where i am i'm the one having the conversation
- 37:47and everyone's like wow that's crazy that you
- 37:50thought about that and you do and i'm like can
- 37:52someone someone challenge me please like give
- 37:55me a deeper dive i'll say my mom pamela is amazing
- 37:57for that me and pamela we go on our eight mile
- 38:00walks and it's all we talk about is whatever's
- 38:02going on biblically or spiritually but outside
- 38:04of she's she's moving yeah you're leaving me
- 38:07and i'm pissed that's funny yeah the uh yeah
- 38:12i would say that that is the case i would say
- 38:14being at oceanside they have challenged me in
- 38:16other ways like and i've challenged them because
- 38:18because we did grow up different you know there's
- 38:20that but i am 100 behind oceanside and um and
- 38:26just 100 behind them kind of thing support but
- 38:31what was i gonna say oh you're i'm sorry but
- 38:33i need to return back to the devil thing because
- 38:36What a great point. Everyone always, a lot of
- 38:38people, we would talk about how people talk too
- 38:39much about the devil. They gave him too much
- 38:41power. But this is Jesus. He is stronger. But
- 38:44what even greater point is that he is not omnipresent.
- 38:48Yeah. I don't think people even think of that.
- 38:50It's not even something that's, I've never heard
- 38:52that said before. But what clarity that is. Holy
- 38:56moly. And do you need backup on that? I don't
- 38:59need backup. That's, yeah, actually, obviously.
- 39:00But Joe, think about Joe. I was thinking. about
- 39:03how you said this. And when God called them and
- 39:06the sons of man and the devil, Satan comes to
- 39:08God and he's like, Satan, where have you been?
- 39:10He's like, here and there. I've been here on
- 39:12the earth. I've been there on the earth. I've
- 39:13just been hanging out. Yeah. He can't be on the
- 39:16earth and talking to God. Yeah. He got one option.
- 39:19Yeah. And he wasn't saying, I'm all over the
- 39:21earth roaming. He was just like, I've been here.
- 39:23I've been watching you. I've been doing this.
- 39:24But he could only do one thing at a time. Yeah.
- 39:27I just thought it was funny because you said
- 39:28that because literally when you were talking,
- 39:30I was like, I... I see what you're saying and
- 39:32I joke. The first example I thought of. So anyways.
- 39:39I don't have to deal with that same thing of
- 39:41feeling I'm the smartest one in the room. I feel
- 39:43like there's so many people. I cannot say that
- 39:46always or about all things. And there were plenty
- 39:49of times where I felt like the same on there,
- 39:50especially since there wasn't much challenge
- 39:53there. There were times where Kate and I, my
- 39:55younger sister and I, would go to a Bible study.
- 40:00And we're like asking and challenging. And a
- 40:02lot of people take offense to that too. They
- 40:03do. And it's not that we, we're trying to fight
- 40:05them. We just, they're just questions. We just,
- 40:08we really are just, we want to know the truth.
- 40:11We're eager for the truth and we want you to
- 40:13know the truth. There's no, we're not trying
- 40:16to fight anyone on what's, what, um, argue with
- 40:20them and be like, how dare you? We're not trying
- 40:22to say we're a bad Christian. Yeah, no, not at
- 40:24all. But I can say here I've been challenged
- 40:27only because there are so many times where people
- 40:29bring up new subjects, things I haven't touched
- 40:32yet. But they're eager as well. They may not
- 40:36have grown up in the same household where they
- 40:38had the same basic foundation, which I was graced
- 40:41with. But that also gives them their own unique
- 40:45perspective. And I would say this, Jesus was
- 40:49challenged and Jesus challenged. Why would we
- 40:52not? Yeah. You know, Paul challenged people all
- 40:55the time and he was challenged. Like, why would
- 40:59we not? Yeah. You know, we did a thing at one
- 41:03of my kinships, which is like the name of a small
- 41:04group at my church. And it was one of my first
- 41:06ones. And the leader angel. Amazing. Oh, my gosh.
- 41:09The way that this man's brain takes and keeps
- 41:12information. He knows everything about the old
- 41:14church. I'm talking like when the church very
- 41:16much started. I'm talking even with 1600, 1200.
- 41:20He knows it. about the beginning of the church.
- 41:22Crazy. Love how his brain works. His wife's the
- 41:26same way. And they love to be challenged. They're
- 41:27like, if we say heresy, call us out. If we say
- 41:31something that you don't believe is biblical,
- 41:33call us out. I love it. Best leaders. And I would
- 41:37say that's a big reason why I stayed. But we
- 41:38did this challenge where it was like, okay, he
- 41:40asked a number of questions. And one was like,
- 41:42is love a feeling or an action? And I was the
- 41:48only person to choose feeling. so i sat on the
- 41:51sofa and it was like 15 people against me and
- 41:54he said all right like make your argument and
- 41:57i said well god so loved the world that he sent
- 42:01it was like he so loved that was first love was
- 42:04first the feeling of love was first that he then
- 42:06sent his only son good point yeah and every and
- 42:11then like three people came and sat down next
- 42:12to me and he was like okay keep going so like
- 42:15i gave a few more answers and then it was like
- 42:16none of the women i felt kind of attacked but
- 42:19another woman spoke up on the other side it was
- 42:21only men that like refuted me and i was like
- 42:24standing my ground at one point i looked at the
- 42:25three men that came to sit with me like do one
- 42:27of y 'all want to talk like i'm a girl and i'm
- 42:29over here defending the whole sofa now that i
- 42:31convinced you guys over to but it was fun to
- 42:33see like people's beliefs and watch them challenge
- 42:36themselves and like form an opinion and stand
- 42:39on it yeah it is is something we are called to
- 42:43do and this is where like we grew up friday night
- 42:46life yeah it's apologetic yeah the basics of
- 42:49those which is actually hard to introduce to
- 42:52people sometimes but uh defending our faith peter
- 42:55tells us like this is something that we are called
- 42:58to do not for just others but for ourself and
- 43:02for our neighbors yeah so i'd say that yeah that's
- 43:05that's very valid I'm just thinking about watching
- 43:08you in that situation. And that is a really good
- 43:11point as well, that God so loved the world. You
- 43:15don't think it's an action as well? No, I think
- 43:17it's an action as well. He said if you had to
- 43:21stand on, love is a feeling or an action. So
- 43:26starting with one to the other. Which are you
- 43:28going to choose? And I said, I would stand on
- 43:30feeling. Because feeling can create action. Action
- 43:34very rarely will create feeling. But actually,
- 43:38what you're saying makes a lot of sense. Because
- 43:41a lot of times, I would have probably started
- 43:43on the action side, to be honest. When you think
- 43:46about marriage, love is continuing to do the
- 43:50actions of marriage, even when you're not happy.
- 43:54Yeah. Even when you're those, but God loved us
- 43:56so much, even when he was angry with us. So he
- 44:00wasn't always like, you know, but he loved us.
- 44:03Yeah. Which would be a feeling, feeling that
- 44:05he did continue to keep his promises. He acted.
- 44:09So yeah, I would say that that's. yeah sounds
- 44:14about right i'm gonna have to look at that one
- 44:16too i mean he asked us five questions and if
- 44:20you want to know whose team ended up winning
- 44:22the debate i don't i don't need to know i already
- 44:24know And to this day, they're still holding it
- 44:27against me. Everyone's like, and then she said
- 44:29this. And I'm like, but you know, then you're
- 44:31like later on in the car, you're like, I should
- 44:33have brought up this first too. Because then
- 44:36you look into it and be like, oh my gosh, you're
- 44:37so much more superior than what I was saying.
- 44:42And Caitlin, my roommate, looked at me and she's
- 44:43like, the second I saw you sit on that sofa,
- 44:45I thought I should trade sides. That's crazy.
- 44:48Honestly, that is true. Because as I told you,
- 44:51even the last year. or two you can see your knowledge
- 44:55has changed a lot yeah in the word where you've
- 44:57dived in deeply and i think it's so funny you
- 45:00say that because i feel like it's i've always
- 45:04been this way in the sense of i've always known
- 45:07the word i've always studied the word i think
- 45:09that the word gets we the bible is a living book
- 45:14so it's always changing for us so i think that
- 45:16and you know what it is i'm gonna tell you right
- 45:18now i knew i was doing this podcast i knew it
- 45:22And so I had to be more vocal about it because
- 45:23I've always had the thoughts. I've always had
- 45:26the feelings and I've always had the motivation,
- 45:28but I've never been so vocal about those thoughts
- 45:30and opinions and feelings. And I've always been
- 45:33like more of a, because I was raised to be this
- 45:35way, to sit back and let others talk until asked.
- 45:39And now I no longer sit back and wait. I now
- 45:43just like speak my knowledge on what I know.
- 45:46But I felt like I had to earn that. I will be
- 45:48honest. Like I have to even now when people ask
- 45:50me, like, how do you know that? I was like, well,
- 45:51when I went to seminary school, I studied under
- 45:53this guy and he made me read this book. And then
- 45:55I developed this and I spoke to, like, I feel
- 45:57like I've had to earn that right to be able to
- 45:59speak on that. Well, even when you went to seminary,
- 46:01there are plenty of times where we talked about
- 46:03stuff. We'd be like, well, I went to seminary.
- 46:04I would know. I was like, yeah, I was like that.
- 46:09That doesn't make it. That doesn't always make
- 46:11it true. But it's not like that anymore. I don't
- 46:15know how to. fully explain to what extent i can
- 46:18a i can see not just the confidence because you
- 46:21always had confidence and surety but your ability
- 46:27to back it up i think being able to back it up
- 46:30with the word and actually say the word to me
- 46:32is a hammer in the coffin to me every time that
- 46:36you have a point and you can point to the gospel
- 46:38and you say this is why this is the case i mean
- 46:41i will say that's true i used to talk about like
- 46:45Others wouldn't know this story, but like that.
- 46:47economics of it all when it came to the Bible
- 46:49I'd be like well if you go back to this person
- 46:51and then you do I'd always talk about like if
- 46:53you go back to this and this and this and the
- 46:54understanding and then the description of this
- 46:56versus being like well the Bible says this and
- 46:57this is what now I'm like this is what the Greek
- 47:00word means and this is what the Hebrew word means
- 47:01and if you bring it to this and you know so I
- 47:04will say I have developed more in that way versus
- 47:06knowing like the facts and history of it all
- 47:08I've been doing a more understanding of the languages
- 47:10because history is fantastic but they are people
- 47:13and so they're going to have their wrongs even
- 47:15back in history like the word of God is always
- 47:18true. God forbid if someone wrote a Bible book
- 47:21on me, that would be so embarrassing. Lordy,
- 47:24how would that even work? I would be so embarrassed
- 47:26if they were like, you know. back then and they
- 47:30were like, this is Hannah Drain's life and this
- 47:32is how she lived her God. Blah, blah, blah. This
- 47:34is what God said through her. I'd be like, that's
- 47:36crazy. I would be like, she was, she was, you
- 47:39know how they did it where it goes, she was the
- 47:41first woman to have a radio station. Yeah. She
- 47:44had her own podcast back in the day when those
- 47:46were a thing. Yeah, literally. But every, even
- 47:49since we were younger, we've, we've had argument,
- 47:52like arguments and stuff. Madison Shambly. Well,
- 47:56there are times now where I'll be like, need
- 47:58to i know how deep our stuff can go yeah so sometimes
- 48:03it's like well do we want it to go that deep
- 48:05first yeah sometimes i have to like stop because
- 48:08i know i'm like we're gonna be here till 2 a
- 48:10.m because we will go into it yes or number two
- 48:12she's not gonna agree with me on this and this
- 48:14will be a debate like we're gonna forever debate
- 48:17and when we debate like we both want to know
- 48:20why the other person yeah this because we want
- 48:22to understand and i think that's fantastic but
- 48:26uh now more than then more than then i feel like
- 48:32it's a different playing field you it's like
- 48:36you've stepped up a little bit into the field
- 48:38and not that that's a playing field but you know
- 48:41what i mean and able to communicate it so much
- 48:46smoother and clearer yeah it's respectable i
- 48:49love it i love seeing you i just love seeing
- 48:51your love for jesus grow i feel like i watched
- 48:54you go from like religion to relationship i would
- 48:58100 agree and that's been like i was even talking
- 49:00about that my mom brought it up she's like i
- 49:02really feel like we've watched serena switch
- 49:03with like being like god to jesus and god and
- 49:07then jesus got in the holy spirit and i was like
- 49:09you know pamela like you're so right like we
- 49:11have and it's been so cool to yeah so you make
- 49:14that transition yeah i couldn't be more happy
- 49:17about it you don't even realize it honestly until
- 49:21it happens sometimes like you don't know what
- 49:25you're missing yeah until you're in it you don't
- 49:28and you can watch other christians sometimes
- 49:30and there's so much in the because you have the
- 49:34knowledge doesn't always mean you have everything
- 49:38the knowledge isn't god oh no sorry sorry sorry
- 49:40yeah um some people idolize knowing more yeah
- 49:46like facts yeah and think that that's the relationship
- 49:50There are plenty of Christians that were strong
- 49:53fighters for the word because they knew they
- 49:58didn't know it. They didn't know it like they
- 50:01know God had a relationship with them. They just
- 50:03could read the words and they can rehearse the
- 50:07word to become atheists and atheists that become
- 50:10Christians because there is something that happens
- 50:13with a relationship. It does. It changes a lot.
- 50:15Yeah. And it brings different kinds of. understanding
- 50:18that you would never imagine that is very hard
- 50:22to come by without a relationship with god it
- 50:23is in my opinion my personal experience yeah
- 50:26yeah i think that you have to have relationship
- 50:28because again it's a little it's a living book
- 50:30so you it'd be like reading a journal from a
- 50:33stranger versus reading your best friend's journal
- 50:35yeah in my opinion like you would get a lot more
- 50:38i would get a lot more from reading your personal
- 50:40journal than like your roommates oh yeah right
- 50:45you're gonna be like so that's so yeah like me
- 50:48going through your car earlier being like yes
- 50:51let's let's hear i want to hear the other items
- 50:53that you pulled okay so wait i found in in your
- 50:56car i found what was it the battleship and the
- 50:59other games the ribbon pencils you have like
- 51:02an absurd amount of pencils in your car that's
- 51:04not even close to as much as used to be and they're
- 51:06like the yellow number two ones where you have
- 51:08to sharp it like what What are you doing with
- 51:11those? Those are back when I had the van. My
- 51:15whole console used to be full of notebooks and
- 51:17pencils I never used. I don't remember why I
- 51:20got the pencils. I had them for a reason. Did
- 51:22you have a sharpener at one point? I have wrapped
- 51:24presents on the go, so that has happened. Okay.
- 51:27Sharpener. For the pencils? I don't know. I put
- 51:32them in my hair sometimes, to be honest. I don't
- 51:33remember all I did. I don't know why. And I think
- 51:36I found a candle. That's possible. Yeah. Anyways,
- 51:41I had an interesting time in your car. Yeah.
- 51:45I think I'm still stuck on that van life where
- 51:48you just kind of keep some odds and ends just
- 51:49in case. Yeah. I have a hard time emptying my
- 51:53car fully because of it. I just remember having
- 51:57a dresser in my car and people needed stuff like,
- 52:00I'm so cold or something. Do you need socks?
- 52:03Do you need sweater? I have that in my car. I
- 52:05have that in my van. I have pants in there right
- 52:07now. No, it's okay. It's okay. And then they
- 52:08say they need something else. Do you need this?
- 52:11I have it in my van. I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Oh
- 52:13my gosh, Trina. I think you have everything in
- 52:14your van. We're fine. I'm sorry. I just have
- 52:17it in my van. Do you want me to host a game night
- 52:18in my little car? I know, right? I can do that.
- 52:21Battleship anyone? Yeah, right. Yeah. Anyways,
- 52:24so yeah, that's what I found in your car. And
- 52:27that's when I looked quickly. I'm sure if I looked
- 52:30longer, I probably would have found more. I have
- 52:34a lot in my glove department. No, that's where
- 52:36I found the ribbon. Yeah, I know. And the candle.
- 52:39Yeah. Yeah. And I didn't look past that. I was
- 52:42like, oh, I'm pretty sure there was a candle
- 52:45in there. Interesting. It looked like a candle.
- 52:48Anyways. All right. Serena, thank you so much
- 52:51for joining us. Thanks for having me. We'll be
- 52:52doing this way more often next month. Yeah. When
- 52:55she moves here. Oh. Yeah. Forward for at least
- 52:59the next year. FYI, everybody. Say goodbye. I'm
- 53:04just kidding. I'm kidding. Thank you.
