- 0:15Speaker 1: more about larsenorm Services. They're telephone number six oh eight
- 0:18Speaker 1: five three five forty three forty three. That's six oh
- 0:21Speaker 1: eight five three five forty three forty three. And I
- 0:25Speaker 1: know later today and I look at the forecast as well.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Hot hot, hot heat, heat, heat, Oh my goodness, it's
- 0:31Speaker 1: going to be a warm, warm stretch here. And joining
- 0:34Speaker 1: us from Larstorm Services is Andrew Larson. And Andrew, I
- 0:38Speaker 1: think insallation. I often think winter months and conserving heat.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Insulation serves a lot of different functions in your home,
- 0:44Speaker 1: doesn't it.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It does. And I know we've talked about insulation for
- 0:49Speaker 2: the summer before, and I'm not trying to like beat
- 0:51Speaker 2: a dead horse, but we talk about it on our podcast,
- 0:55Speaker 2: so it's all over social media, and yet we still
- 0:58Speaker 2: don't get a lot of calls for insulation in the summer.
- 1:01Speaker 2: So I figured, you know, what if the rest of
- 1:04Speaker 2: our audience on social isn't educated this wonderful audience that
- 1:09Speaker 2: listens to this show will be educated. Okay, if nobody
- 1:13Speaker 2: else knows, it can be our little secret. Insulation is
- 1:18Speaker 2: so important in the summer. In fact, one might one
- 1:23Speaker 2: might say it is more important in the summer, and
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'll run through the science real quick. In the winter
- 1:30Speaker 2: we heat our homes. You've heard me talk about stack
- 1:32Speaker 2: effect a thousand times. Bottom line and stack effect is
- 1:36Speaker 2: hot air rises. We know that hot air balloons go
- 1:39Speaker 2: up where they come down. Nobody really knows. That's why
- 1:42Speaker 2: I've never been on one kind of scary there's a field,
- 1:47Speaker 2: hopefully there's not a power line that's coming down. You know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: hot air rises. So as that hot air rises, it
- 1:54Speaker 2: looks for ways to escape from your house. You've got
- 1:56Speaker 2: thermal barriers with your with your drywall that slow it,
- 2:02Speaker 2: but there's cracks. So everywhere there's a seam in your
- 2:06Speaker 2: sheet rock that goes into your attic, that would be
- 2:10Speaker 2: something that would need to be air sealed. Every power
- 2:13Speaker 2: outlet where that where that wire runs up your wall
- 2:18Speaker 2: and through the top plate into your attic, that would
- 2:22Speaker 2: need to be air sealed. That's like a little attic chase.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And now it doesn't seem like a lot, but when
- 2:27Speaker 2: you add up to one hundred of them, that's a lot.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So air ceiling really, really really helps in the winter,
- 2:37Speaker 2: that stops that stops that stack effect, or it slows
- 2:41Speaker 2: it down significantly. But the insulation. So let's okay, So
- 2:46Speaker 2: let's say that we've got that thermal barrier of our drywall. Okay,
- 2:52Speaker 2: once that heat escapes through there and hits the insulation,
- 2:58Speaker 2: the insulation is where it's in the attic already. So
- 3:02Speaker 2: now that heat is already in the attic, it's gone.
- 3:06Speaker 2: It's gone. See yea bye bye. Now your attic is vented.
- 3:09Speaker 2: The cold air comes in and it sends it out
- 3:12Speaker 2: into space. That's why we see melting snow on your roofs,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and we see ice dams, and we see frost lines
- 3:19Speaker 2: and we see all that stuff. Once the heat is
- 3:21Speaker 2: to the insulation, it's gone. So my point is air
- 3:27Speaker 2: ceiling is much more important than the winter than insulation is.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Now in the summer, it's the opposite our attic. I
- 3:37Speaker 2: can't even tell you how hot your attic might be
- 3:39Speaker 2: when it's one hundred and five heated. I just heard
- 3:41Speaker 2: right before I got one hundred and five heated that.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I mean people from Wisconsin are gonna melt like butter. Yes,
- 3:49Speaker 2: could possibly right. I was in Puerto Rico a few
- 3:53Speaker 2: weeks ago for a roofing conference, while it's probably a
- 3:56Speaker 2: month ago now, and it's literally one hundred degrees in
- 3:59Speaker 2: humid air every single day there. They're used to it.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They're like, oh, it's a nice day. They're like wearing
- 4:03Speaker 2: long sleeves and stuff. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm
- 4:05Speaker 2: got Well, that's going to feel like Puerto Rico here today,
- 4:09Speaker 2: and that attic is most likely going to be one
- 4:12Speaker 2: hundred and forty to one hundred and eighty degrees okay,
- 4:15Speaker 2: depending on the ventilation and depending on the breeze that's hot. Now,
- 4:21Speaker 2: imagine you've got an R twenty to an R thirty
- 4:24Speaker 2: of insulation, which is very under insulated, and your attic
- 4:30Speaker 2: turns in. Your attic is basically turning into a radiant oven.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And what we're trying to do with that insulation is
- 4:37Speaker 2: we are trying to separate that radiant oven, your attic,
- 4:41Speaker 2: from your conditioned space in your home. And the only
- 4:44Speaker 2: way we do that is with insulation. Now, our insulation,
- 4:49Speaker 2: our Truesoft cellulose insulation that we use. We're going to
- 4:51Speaker 2: be putting sixteen to seventeen inches up there. We want
- 4:55Speaker 2: to get you to an R sixty. What's recommended for
- 4:58Speaker 2: our area is an R forty nine to sixty you
- 5:00Speaker 2: can get by code I think is an R forty nine.
- 5:03Speaker 2: We always go above and beyond because honestly, it's not
- 5:06Speaker 2: that much more work. So now we've got seventeen inches
- 5:09Speaker 2: of this. What I think is this beautiful fluffy insulation
- 5:15Speaker 2: up there that is separating that heat from your ceiling,
- 5:20Speaker 2: and a lot of people are sleeping right below that ceiling.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I mean, we've been into bedrooms midday on a ninety
- 5:27Speaker 2: degree day where houses were severely under insulated in their
- 5:31Speaker 2: attic and I've seen one hundred degree ceilings in a
- 5:35Speaker 2: room that we're trying to cool to seventy two degrees
- 5:38Speaker 2: to sleep. It's not gonna happen. It's never gonna happen.
- 5:42Speaker 2: You are fighting a losing battle. So when I come
- 5:45Speaker 2: on here and talk about insulation right now, which literally
- 5:48Speaker 2: nobody's thinking about, they're just not. It's insulation's in the winter,
- 5:53Speaker 2: it's a warm, cozy blanket, but air ceiling is more
- 5:56Speaker 2: important in the winter than insulation. Insulation is extremely extremely
- 6:02Speaker 2: important in the summer. So I just want everyone to
- 6:06Speaker 2: understand that that if your AC can't cool your home down,
- 6:09Speaker 2: there's a good possibility that it is not the AC's fault.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It might be you are under insulated. So when we
- 6:16Speaker 2: talk about the Ultimate Addict Solution by Larson and LARSENKINI
- 6:20Speaker 2: Home Services, that's over fifteen years of us doing what
- 6:25Speaker 2: we do have come up with the best way to
- 6:28Speaker 2: insulate your attic, air seal your attic, take care of
- 6:32Speaker 2: the critical details so that you know there's not a better,
- 6:38Speaker 2: more efficient way to have your addic done. It is
- 6:40Speaker 2: the best way your home is going to perform. It
- 6:43Speaker 2: is going to bring comfort back to your home. If
- 6:45Speaker 2: you've got a cape Cod and I'm not even going
- 6:48Speaker 2: to explain what it is if you have one, you
- 6:50Speaker 2: know in the summer and in the summer especially the
- 6:54Speaker 2: upstairs in the cape Cod can become completely unlivable. People
- 6:58Speaker 2: will move their bedrooms down to the the living room floor.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Kids will be sleeping on their parents' floor like that's
- 7:05Speaker 2: what happens until we come in and we insulate it,
- 7:09Speaker 2: we air seal it, we spray home it properly. We
- 7:13Speaker 2: give work, we give spaceback, we give conditioned spaceback, we
- 7:16Speaker 2: give comfortability back. And a side effect of that is
- 7:20Speaker 2: you save on your energy bills. So if I sound
- 7:23Speaker 2: somewhat passionate about that, it is because nobody thinks about
- 7:29Speaker 2: it in the summer, and it is the most important
- 7:31Speaker 2: time to think about your insulation. That's why for the
- 7:34Speaker 2: people listening on this show who are going to be
- 7:37Speaker 2: the educated ones, I am going to extend free installation
- 7:40Speaker 2: labor on insulation products from now until the end of
- 7:45Speaker 2: the month if you call and get an estimate, And
- 7:47Speaker 2: for anybody listening who has had an estimate from us,
- 7:51Speaker 2: I am extending that same discount because be completely honest
- 7:54Speaker 2: with you, or insulation department is just itching for more
- 7:57Speaker 2: work to do and it's very important time to get
- 8:01Speaker 2: it done. So if you get it done now, we're
- 8:03Speaker 2: going to help help you for the rest of the
- 8:04Speaker 2: summer and you're going to be ready to go for
- 8:06Speaker 2: the winner.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Not going to beat that free installation labor again through
- 8:10Speaker 1: the end of the month. But you've got a call now.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Call Larstorm Services six oh eight five three five forty
- 8:15Speaker 1: three forty three. That's five three five forty three forty three.
- 8:18Speaker 1: You think about reclaiming that space. You're paying for that house,
- 8:22Speaker 1: make use of it. There is nothing worse either than
- 8:24Speaker 1: when you get up in the morning and you go
- 8:26Speaker 1: to get out of bed and there's a kiddo sitting
- 8:28Speaker 1: on the floor. It's like, oh my goodness, you're tripping
- 8:30Speaker 1: over them. Get them back in their room where they belong. Cake,
- 8:35Speaker 1: take the burden off of your ACU and it's keep
- 8:37Speaker 1: your house comfortable. It's a win win all around. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: Andrew just sweetened that deal with that free installation labor.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Now is the time. Give them a call at Larstorme
