- 0:27Samantha Pruitt: Hey, good morning, beautiful humans.
- 0:29Samantha Pruitt: Sam Pruitt here in the house going solo today without my partner in crime, Polly.
- 0:35Samantha Pruitt: And I want to talk to you about something.
- 0:39Samantha Pruitt: Came up today for me.
- 0:41Samantha Pruitt: I thought I might share it with y'all, see if it resonates.
- 0:45Samantha Pruitt: It's the word or term manifestation.
- 0:51Samantha Pruitt: Boy, that word sure gets a bad rap, doesn't it?
- 0:55Samantha Pruitt: In fact, I bet your mind immediately went to the woo-woo law of attraction, sending out good vibes and positive thoughts while waiting for a special delivery of all your hopes and dreams to come true.
- 1:10Samantha Pruitt: Manifestation.
- 1:13Samantha Pruitt: You know, attracting the perfect partner, attracting the dream job, willing into existence, good health, financial security, and hell, why not while you're at it?
- 1:23Samantha Pruitt: Community and global peace, manifestation, the active or the act of manifesting.
- 1:33Samantha Pruitt: It came to me today while I was awaiting my favorite latte in my favorite coffee shop after kicking my own ass at my favorite gym.
- 1:44Samantha Pruitt: So feeling rather accomplished, feeling sweatily satisfied, feeling healthy and feeling deeply grateful, I was interrupted by my iPhone, my freaking iPhone.
- 1:56Samantha Pruitt: Can you imagine that?
- 1:58Samantha Pruitt: So I glanced at it.
- 2:01Samantha Pruitt: Immediately, this word was evoked.
- 2:05Samantha Pruitt: Manifestation.
- 2:08Samantha Pruitt: It was called forth unconsciously from a photograph that popped up on my iPhone memories.
- 2:15Samantha Pruitt: You know when your iPhone sends you those photograph memories of this day and that day, this many years ago, a bunch of pictures of a place or a time or people or a theme that's a photo album that's displayed.
- 2:28Samantha Pruitt: Well, let me tell you, that shit used to annoy the hell out of me.
- 2:34Samantha Pruitt: You know when that stuff automatically pops up?
- 2:37Samantha Pruitt: Not that, you know, they were good or bad memories, but I had this attitude of that's the past, and I'm not going in that direction.
- 2:46Samantha Pruitt: Leave me alone.
- 2:48Samantha Pruitt: That evil iPhone forcing or force feeding me pictures and memories of what I used to look like, where I used to live, what my life used to be.
- 2:58Samantha Pruitt: A thousand images from my life experiences.
- 3:02Samantha Pruitt: Experiences that are all part of the fabric of my being at this very moment.
- 3:11Samantha Pruitt: I would get annoyed at that moment because I wanted to focus my time, my attention, my energy on building a future.
- 3:19Samantha Pruitt: Why look backwards?
- 3:21Samantha Pruitt: I'm not going that way.
- 3:23Samantha Pruitt: Forward March.
- 3:26Samantha Pruitt: But this last year, in sitting with the dying, and facing my own concept of my own mortality or immortality, I should say.
- 3:36Samantha Pruitt: I had a mind shift.
- 3:39Samantha Pruitt: I'm here now.
- 3:40Samantha Pruitt: I want to be here fully in this moment.
- 3:43Samantha Pruitt: I want to live in the present.
- 3:46Samantha Pruitt: Really seeing, really hearing, really feeling, and really connecting.
- 3:54Samantha Pruitt: I am becoming far less attached to where I'm going because I realize there are no guarantees for tomorrow.
- 4:01Samantha Pruitt: Everything is impermanent, including my body, my life, and everything around me that I love.
- 4:10Samantha Pruitt: None of this will survive my lifetime.
- 4:14Samantha Pruitt: Some call this an awakening.
- 4:17Samantha Pruitt: I call these kind of life perspectives and transitions evolutions.
- 4:24Samantha Pruitt: So when my iPhone memory photo album came up, it flashed right back to the year 2018.
- 4:33Samantha Pruitt: 2018.
- 4:35Samantha Pruitt: And the digital album cover was me standing alone on the top of a steep rock mountain looking out at the horizon in the desert eight years ago.
- 4:51Samantha Pruitt: I was 49.
- 4:54Samantha Pruitt: I remember that moment like it was yesterday.
- 4:58Samantha Pruitt: I can retrace my steps up and down that mountain like I did it this morning.
- 5:04Samantha Pruitt: And just as vividly I remember my thoughts and my emotions as I gazed across the horizon into the vast desert landscape.
- 5:16Samantha Pruitt: I was thinking, I was feeling, and I was dreaming the desert is where I belong.
- 5:24Samantha Pruitt: I want to be in that magical, mystical warmth of the desert.
- 5:27Samantha Pruitt: I no longer want to live by the cool ocean.
- 5:32Samantha Pruitt: That desert dream brought peace to my soul, rhythmic beats to my heart, and a wise energy of knowing into my bones.
- 5:42Samantha Pruitt: That day and for many days following, I kept asking myself, how in the hell am I going to make this dream happen?
- 5:50Samantha Pruitt: Luckily, as a coach, I knew that every big dream, and in fact, every person's unique goal requires strategic planning, as in a map, an incredible amount of emotional dedication and mental belief, and a consistent investment in energy.
- 6:10Samantha Pruitt: So flash forward eight years to today.
- 6:14Samantha Pruitt: Manifestation.
- 6:22Samantha Pruitt: I can get to the base of that mountain from my front door on foot.
- 6:27Samantha Pruitt: I can look out and see that mountain from most of the windows in my house as I am sipping my morning coffee and contemplating my beautiful life.
- 6:39Samantha Pruitt: That mountain is me, and that mountain is my life reflecting back at me.
- 6:45Samantha Pruitt: So today I asked myself this question: Did I manifest this?
- 6:50Samantha Pruitt: What the hell is manifestation anyway?
- 6:53Samantha Pruitt: And how did I make this shit happen?
- 6:55Samantha Pruitt: Is it magic?
- 6:56Samantha Pruitt: It's definitely not coincidence.
- 6:59Samantha Pruitt: Then I dug deeper and recognized the amount of effort, intention, and grace that aligned both within myself and the universe in order for this to become my daily reality.
- 7:12Samantha Pruitt: I dig even deeper to see my strategic path, steadfast belief in listening to my gut, and relentless work to explore all possible opportunities that would allow me to build a new life in the desert.
- 7:29Samantha Pruitt: Now, I do not take lightly the amount of agency I hold within the hands of my life.
- 7:35Samantha Pruitt: I do not take for granted the amount of privilege I have to be in the life circumstances I inhabit.
- 7:42Samantha Pruitt: I do not ignore all the contributions of the shoulders I stand upon and the holding of hands I have today.
- 7:51Samantha Pruitt: But I also know this.
- 7:54Samantha Pruitt: Manifestation means something very different than most of us think at first glance.
- 8:00Samantha Pruitt: Manifestation is in fact a tool we all know how to use.
- 8:07Samantha Pruitt: These are the steps to follow if you want to manifest change in your life.
- 8:13Samantha Pruitt: Number one, dream.
- 8:17Samantha Pruitt: Climb your own mountaintop and look far beyond what your daily commute offers.
- 8:23Samantha Pruitt: Limiting views of the world in yourself lead to limiting beliefs.
- 8:28Samantha Pruitt: Limiting beliefs are the chains that shackle you.
- 8:33Samantha Pruitt: Number two, create a strategy, a roadmap towards your change, towards your goal, towards your dream.
- 8:39Samantha Pruitt: By the way, there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
- 8:42Samantha Pruitt: Countless humans have done epic shit before you, and there are endless resources available to help you build your own map.
- 8:50Samantha Pruitt: If not, just hire a coach and they'll do it for you.
- 8:53Samantha Pruitt: Number three, emotional dedication and mental belief are both mind shifts.
- 9:00Samantha Pruitt: These mind shifts are critical.
- 9:02Samantha Pruitt: Emotional dedication and mental belief.
- 9:06Samantha Pruitt: You make this game change by shifting and realizing that whatever you're doing now is not working, or else you'd already be there.
- 9:16Samantha Pruitt: So let go of that old habit energy and embrace the mindset of an explorer, an adventurer, a growth seeker.
- 9:24Samantha Pruitt: Become a human that is open to seeing, hearing, meeting, and experiencing newness all the time.
- 9:33Samantha Pruitt: Number three, be consistent.
- 9:36Samantha Pruitt: That means you need to show up, put in the reps, put in the miles on this path forward.
- 9:43Samantha Pruitt: One time I ran 150 miles from Colorado to Utah on a trail through the wilderness.
- 9:50Samantha Pruitt: I got there one mile at a time.
- 9:53Samantha Pruitt: Another time I ran through Death Valley 135 miles to the portal of Mount Whitney.
- 9:58Samantha Pruitt: I got there one mile at a time.
- 10:02Samantha Pruitt: And even a different time, eight years ago, I stood on top of a rugged desert mountain, dreaming about where I would feel most at home in the second half of my life.
- 10:15Samantha Pruitt: I only got here one step at a time.
- 10:20Samantha Pruitt: To me, manifestation is bringing your desire into reality by taking full ownership and empowerment over your life, making your personal vision for your life happen because you made it happen.
- 10:38Samantha Pruitt: What I've discovered along the way, too, is that the energy of the universe really likes people who do this.
- 10:46Samantha Pruitt: It tends to rally around you.
- 10:48Samantha Pruitt: And frankly, we all need a good cheerleader.
- 10:51Samantha Pruitt: All right, beautiful humans.
- 10:52Samantha Pruitt: We'll see you next week.
