- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast with.
- 0:04Speaker 2: On our radio. Welcome back to the Almost Famous podcast.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It's been back together with Lauren. It's been way too long.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I know I miss this.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I miss it. We are recapping a new show, Real Housewives,
- 0:22Speaker 2: Ultimate Girls Trip Roaring twentieth. Like I said a few
- 0:28Speaker 2: weeks ago, with my like our inability to say ours
- 0:32Speaker 2: roaring might be the hardest word for me to say
- 0:35Speaker 2: in the dictionary, yet they decided to name it the
- 0:37Speaker 2: thing I can't say.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Wait, how do you say rory?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Then?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Rhode Island? Oh is that hard? I
- 0:45Speaker 1: didn't know you couldn't say you're ours.
- 0:46Speaker 2: You're right, I can't say my ours roar, roaring, roaring,
- 0:51Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Rhode Island. It's bad. It's bad. It's
- 0:58Speaker 2: a test.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, No, that's that's rude of them, honestly to you.
- 1:02Speaker 1: But I've never known you couldn't say you're as So
- 1:04Speaker 1: that's funny.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty wild. If you've listened long enough, you've
- 1:08Speaker 2: probably heard me like stumble over it a few times.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But it's not good. It's you know, it's it was
- 1:15Speaker 2: really hard as a sixth grader can you imagine.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I was gonna say, the worst time is sixth grade,
- 1:19Speaker 1: where people are like just figuring out how to say
- 1:21Speaker 1: there ares you know, and you're.
- 1:24Speaker 2: The one guy that's going to speech class going Yeah, Lauren,
- 1:31Speaker 2: before we get started, I was with your brother in
- 1:33Speaker 2: law for the last four days.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, he needed a break.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, And I don't think he'll mind me
- 1:40Speaker 2: saying this because it's really just a sweet thing, but
- 1:44Speaker 2: you need to talk to him, oh God, because he
- 1:47Speaker 2: had a blast. He's one of the best dudes I know.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And he's a good golfer he is. He's good. He
- 1:54Speaker 2: doesn't play enough, but he's good.
- 1:55Speaker 1: He doesn't he only does like nine holes at a time,
- 1:58Speaker 1: like go along.
- 2:00Speaker 2: He was stressed about leaving, like he I could tell
- 2:05Speaker 2: he felt anxiety over being there. Yeah, and there was
- 2:10Speaker 2: really no reason why, like nothing was going down outside
- 2:12Speaker 2: of like golf and dinners. But I could tell he
- 2:15Speaker 2: felt like he was should have been somewhere else. And
- 2:18Speaker 2: I was like, dude, you, out of anybody, give everything
- 2:21Speaker 2: to everything else. Yeah, like this is where you need
- 2:23Speaker 2: to be.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yes the most, like mead time he has, which isn't
- 2:26Speaker 1: even mead time because Ashton, the kids go a softball
- 2:29Speaker 1: like every other Sunday or something for an hour, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: he was he thinks like, oh then if I'm gone now,
- 2:37Speaker 1: then it's like that's four hours more I need to
- 2:42Speaker 1: spend with the kids or working at Audrey's or something.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So yeah, he definitely needs more trips like that. I agree,
- 2:49Speaker 1: And that's very rare for a woman to say that
- 2:51Speaker 1: a man needs to go on more golf trips, but
- 2:52Speaker 1: he does.
- 2:53Speaker 2: He does. Yeah, that's sweet. I think it's healthy. Everybody
- 2:55Speaker 2: was excited to go back home, which is also I
- 2:58Speaker 2: think Jared kind of led the charge of like how
- 3:02Speaker 2: great is it that we go away, but we are
- 3:04Speaker 2: excited to go back home. I think that's why you
- 3:06Speaker 2: do those things, like I want to be back with
- 3:08Speaker 2: my family. The first like day, you're like, this is awesome. Yes,
- 3:13Speaker 2: the second day you're like, this is good. Second half
- 3:16Speaker 2: of the day you're like, I'm ready to go back home.
- 3:18Speaker 3: To my kid.
- 3:19Speaker 1: And exactly, I love that a hunter will send me
- 3:22Speaker 1: text like that too, be like I won't hear from
- 3:25Speaker 1: for the first two days, and then the third it's
- 3:27Speaker 1: like I cannot wait to get out of here. So
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's perfect. A tount of time it's so good.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk about this a little background. The Real
- 3:37Speaker 2: Housewives have now been around for twenty years, which is crazy.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I remember when the first season came out. You and
- 3:43Speaker 2: I are both new fans to the House Size Housewives franchise.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I think it's very obvious why we became fans, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: will be clear, I really loved watching Rhode Island. I
- 3:55Speaker 2: thought it was a really enjoyable, wild mix up for
- 4:00Speaker 2: the chaos of the world, and throughout it, our producer,
- 4:05Speaker 2: Heather has kind of coached us on past seasons. Who's
- 4:09Speaker 2: the players, who's the characters, What's happened in each location?
- 4:14Speaker 2: Why are certain locations better than others. We've gotten like
- 4:17Speaker 2: a feel, at least for me. I'll speak for myself.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I feel like I've gotten a feel for the Real
- 4:23Speaker 2: Housewives franchise, but I don't still think I understand it fully.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And watching the first episode of the reunion the Real
- 4:32Speaker 2: Housewives road.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Trip, you know thing, Ultimate Girls Trip.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Ultimate Girls Trip. Yeah, I do feel like my education
- 4:40Speaker 2: on The Housewives has gotten better.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yes, each each day we're growing more and more key
- 4:46Speaker 1: in to these women I love. I mean, it's probably
- 4:50Speaker 1: such an honor to be picked for the Ultimate Girls
- 4:51Speaker 1: Trip because there's been twenty years in so many seasons
- 4:56Speaker 1: and so much rotation in each cast, and then these
- 4:58Speaker 1: are the ultimate, the Ultimates of the Ultimates. Did you
- 5:02Speaker 1: know who Teresa Judas was before this from New Jersey?
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think I did, and here's why, and Heather correct me.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So we're gonna be calling Heather in a little bit
- 5:13Speaker 2: during this episode because she is our coach, like we're
- 5:16Speaker 2: the players. She's coaching us, and so sometimes you need
- 5:19Speaker 2: to take a time out and make sure that you're
- 5:22Speaker 2: on the right track. Heather, is it? What is Teresa's daughter,
- 5:26Speaker 2: the one that has the other podcast with you?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yes, you have met Dia because we do her Dirty
- 5:32Speaker 3: Rush podcast. You met her Tahoe.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so I knew who she was, Lourene, because I
- 5:37Speaker 2: met her daughter in Tahoe and like was promoting the
- 5:42Speaker 2: Dirty Rush show and looked up her mom. Okay while
- 5:46Speaker 2: we were there, and I was, and she for whatever reason,
- 5:51Speaker 2: I did recognize her, Like I did say, oh, I've
- 5:53Speaker 2: seen her somewhere on TV before, but I'm not familiar.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Like that's about as big as i'd know her.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Because when I look at this this group of women.
- 6:04Speaker 1: She seems to be the most like widely known because
- 6:08Speaker 1: she has the classic where she flips the table at dinner.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I'm you've probably seen a mema that she like flips
- 6:13Speaker 1: the table over. Also, she went to prison, Okay, that
- 6:17Speaker 1: is why she's been widely known, and then her daughter's famous.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And she was also on Special Forces, which is one
- 6:24Speaker 1: of my diehard love that show. So that's why she
- 6:27Speaker 1: is like the most iconic to me.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Okay, so you know who else stood out to me? Porsia.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I do know of Porsia because I think she's referenced
- 6:38Speaker 2: a lot when it comes to the icons of the franchise. Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I have a couple of gay buddies who love Housewives,
- 6:47Speaker 2: uh huh, And every once in a while, like when
- 6:52Speaker 2: we're together, they'll like like like inside talk I don't
- 6:57Speaker 2: know how to say it, Like they have these inside
- 6:59Speaker 2: jokes about life and things that I never understand. But
- 7:05Speaker 2: The Housewives is typically those jokes, and Porsicha's like referenced
- 7:09Speaker 2: a lot. Like they'll say I think things like that's
- 7:11Speaker 2: so Porsia or something. I'm like, I have no idea
- 7:13Speaker 2: of them.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Okay, amazing, Well, we'll definitely learn more about her, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'm over like all these ladies. The Countess Luanne is
- 7:25Speaker 1: my is my number one in any franchise of all time,
- 7:29Speaker 1: like like my sister, and then the Countess Luyne because
- 7:32Speaker 1: she is so unintentionally funny and so herself and she
- 7:39Speaker 1: she just loves boys, and I think that's the most
- 7:42Speaker 1: fun The most fun thing to watch is anytime there's
- 7:45Speaker 1: a man in the vicinity, she turns on all the
- 7:48Speaker 1: sexiness and and she you'll see, you'll see, I'm sure
- 7:53Speaker 1: we'll go down when they get to New York. Like
- 7:55Speaker 1: all of herly classic moments, this is an also loves
- 7:59Speaker 1: boys of any kind.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and twers. I'm look out. Okay, Now I do
- 8:03Speaker 2: recognize her from yes, sixty one years old and still loving.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Boys, loves them.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Good for her, I know, good for her, But yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Who else did out? Don't?
- 8:16Speaker 3: We?
- 8:17Speaker 2: We have Vicky from Orange County. Vicky is a Is she.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Chrisly She's not, but I see what I see the resemblance. Yes, okay, yes,
- 8:31Speaker 1: Vicky is obviously og first first housewife ever the most wild, screams,
- 8:40Speaker 1: says everything very Ramona esque. You probably don't know Ramona,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but she has romona qualities from from Housewives of New
- 8:47Speaker 1: York just says anything like like she'll be in the
- 8:52Speaker 1: middle of a conversation about taxes as we see, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then she like, we'll start talking about a clothing brand
- 8:57Speaker 1: and then scream and then cry and the most quintessential
- 9:02Speaker 1: housewife you could have ever asked for.
- 9:05Speaker 2: As we kicked this off, obviously we mentioned I think
- 9:08Speaker 2: this is a fun breakdown to do because you and
- 9:11Speaker 2: I are not experts on the Housewives, but we are
- 9:13Speaker 2: becoming fans. We are getting educated from the people that
- 9:17Speaker 2: are on the road trip that you know, Lauren, who
- 9:21Speaker 2: would you be most likely to enjoy hanging out with?
- 9:24Speaker 2: Like who would you.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Want to take a fun question? I would kick it
- 9:29Speaker 1: with Luanne for sure, but like they do have other
- 9:34Speaker 1: people pop up, but like from the starting the starting
- 9:38Speaker 1: lineup here, I would say Luanne because she's so funny,
- 9:42Speaker 1: so dry. I think she's the hottest thing ever and
- 9:45Speaker 1: she loves boys and we all can relate to that,
- 9:49Speaker 1: or I can relate to that.
- 9:51Speaker 2: You and your like, uh what ten years ago? Maybe
- 9:56Speaker 2: years ago? Ye are very similar on the prow always
- 10:00Speaker 2: yes yeh. Turning on the sexiness, making sure you're seene,
- 10:07Speaker 2: who here would you be least likely to hang out with?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Well, I just don't know Lisa Barlow.
- 10:14Speaker 1: From what I've said, I don't know her truly at all.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Her vibes in this first episode I don't really vibe with.
- 10:22Speaker 1: She seems like super materialistic and there was like a
- 10:26Speaker 1: video of her on the plane being like here I
- 10:29Speaker 1: am in first class where I belong La, la la,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and I'm just like, I don't really give a Luanne
- 10:34Speaker 1: does it in such a way that's kind of like
- 10:36Speaker 1: tongue in cheek, but Lisa Barlow's not tongue in cheek
- 10:39Speaker 1: about that.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, fair, Okay, I get weird just from this, And
- 10:45Speaker 2: please Heather come in and say I'm a crazy person.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Vicky is somebody that I think will get on my
- 10:50Speaker 2: nerves quickly because of her input into situations where she
- 10:54Speaker 2: should not be giving an input. That's what I see so.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Far is that there unhinged. You would not get along
- 11:01Speaker 3: with Vicky. I don't think. I think Ben, you'd probably
- 11:03Speaker 3: get along with Kyle.
- 11:06Speaker 2: H Yeah, Kyle. Kyle has been a lot of people
- 11:12Speaker 2: I know know her and they talk very highly of her.
- 11:16Speaker 3: She's no g for a reason. She's the longest running
- 11:19Speaker 3: housewife consistently. Yeah, people love Kyle. She's very mellow for
- 11:25Speaker 3: the most part.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yes, I was gonna say she's the appropriate amount of
- 11:29Speaker 1: like stir. She does just enough to stay relevant, but
- 11:34Speaker 1: not crazy enough to like to isolate herself with her
- 11:39Speaker 1: arguments and stuff. And what I think she does best
- 11:42Speaker 1: is she argues with her sisters, which is such a
- 11:44Speaker 1: safe place to argue. But she didn't know two of
- 11:48Speaker 1: her sisters are on Real House of Beverly.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Hills, so it's more of a sister show, oh for
- 11:55Speaker 2: different seasons.
- 11:56Speaker 3: And she's Paris Hilton's aunt. That's what she's famous for
- 12:02Speaker 3: in one sense. I mean, she's also famously the ex
- 12:05Speaker 3: wife of a huge mortgage broker, Mauricio, and he runs
- 12:12Speaker 3: the agency that is all over the world, you know,
- 12:15Speaker 3: the real estate group, the agency that's her ex husband.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I know Mauricia. I've played golf with Mauricio.
- 12:23Speaker 3: There you go, there's your connection. So some would say
- 12:26Speaker 3: that Kyle is maybe the richest of all housewives.
- 12:32Speaker 1: God, I had no idea.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Well, because they speculate that's why the divorce has not
- 12:38Speaker 3: ever been finalized between her and Mauricio because people say
- 12:42Speaker 3: allegedly that there's no prenup between them because they got
- 12:47Speaker 3: married so young, and.
- 12:48Speaker 1: That she developed it after correct and thought.
- 12:52Speaker 3: She would be owed a substantial amount of money if
- 12:55Speaker 3: they were to finalize their divorce.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Heather, why wasn't Bethanie Frankel on this.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I can't even go into it then, but she is
- 13:05Speaker 3: not in cahoots with anybody at Bravo these days. Andy
- 13:09Speaker 3: Cohen and her had such a falling out that he
- 13:11Speaker 3: doesn't even call her by name. He calls her the
- 13:14Speaker 3: Margarita lady.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Oh goodness, Yeah, she wouldn't do it.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Also, the hugest like Bravo fallout because she created Skinny
- 13:23Speaker 1: Girl Margarita and Skinny Girl Cocktails, and Bravo was like,
- 13:28Speaker 1: we're owed like x percent of it, like so much
- 13:32Speaker 1: percent of your sales and your profit. And they went
- 13:37Speaker 1: to war about it because like, you wouldn't have such
- 13:39Speaker 1: a successful company if it wasn't for Bravo. So now
- 13:42Speaker 1: in all the Bravo contracts it's called the Bethany Frankel clause,
- 13:46Speaker 1: Like if you come up with a company after your
- 13:48Speaker 1: own housewives, we get a certain amount.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Ah, this is fascinating. She makes so much money on that.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yes, at the time it was the biggest beverage sale ever.
- 14:00Speaker 1: That's not.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Let's dive in a little bit the should one's up
- 14:15Speaker 2: with famous soundbites from the iconic Housewives. The women are
- 14:19Speaker 2: all dancing at a party at Bluestone Manor. That's Derrenda's
- 14:23Speaker 2: house in the Berkshires, Lauren, We've learned that they call
- 14:27Speaker 2: it the there's a nickname for the Berkshires, right, the Berserkers,
- 14:36Speaker 2: the Berserkers. And we've gotten a highlight in a picture,
- 14:41Speaker 2: and I think this is where I really learned a lot.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We've gotten an impact, an idea of the impact that
- 14:47Speaker 2: the franchise has had on pop culture over the last
- 14:50Speaker 2: twenty years. You have celebrities that are fans. They've been
- 14:56Speaker 2: spoofed on SNL. People like I said, my my friends
- 15:01Speaker 2: reference Housewife stuff and like normal conversations. This has been
- 15:08Speaker 2: a crazy show when it comes to impact, and it
- 15:13Speaker 2: has really span and I think this is always interesting.
- 15:16Speaker 2: The Bachelor used to do this. I don't know how
- 15:19Speaker 2: much it does anymore. It might still be able to
- 15:21Speaker 2: get back to it, but you get people from all
- 15:24Speaker 2: walks of life, enjoying the show, watching the show, celebrities
- 15:32Speaker 2: to my Midwestern neighbors, to anybody, they just love housewives.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Yeah, seeing the clip of Julia Roberts basically being like, oh,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I watched this season, this sea, this season I do,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'm like, you would think that she'd have something better
- 15:46Speaker 1: to do, but it transcends classes and occupations and it
- 15:53Speaker 1: is so it is so fun to see.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's also wild to think that now our good
- 15:58Speaker 2: friend Ashley is being watched by Julia Roberts.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Probably I know, well I thought that was like a
- 16:04Speaker 1: Bachelor too. I mean, obviously there's some like a list
- 16:08Speaker 1: celebrities that watch Bachelor and Housewives and just to know
- 16:11Speaker 1: that they know who you are is such a crazy
- 16:14Speaker 1: concept because all you're doing just like living your normal life.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I was I was mentioned in two presidential addresses. Did
- 16:20Speaker 2: you know that?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Then put that on your gravestone.
- 16:23Speaker 2: That's it's still like that when somebody has like, what's
- 16:28Speaker 2: the one in like dinner fact that like is a
- 16:31Speaker 2: is a brag? I'm like, oh, at two times that
- 16:35Speaker 2: the president mentioned me because his daughter was like not
- 16:39Speaker 2: coming to something because the Bachelor was on.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That's so good and not to mention that everyone will
- 16:44Speaker 1: admit that you were like the Golden Year, like that
- 16:47Speaker 1: was the height of the Bachelor franchise as well.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Ohor and you're sweet and we've had a lot of
- 16:53Speaker 2: heights of It's it's another side comment. It's kind of
- 16:57Speaker 2: interesting if you're a fan of The Housewives showed it,
- 17:00Speaker 2: think about, Okay, you have all these icons, you have
- 17:03Speaker 2: all these memories, and the height could be right now,
- 17:07Speaker 2: meaning Rhode Island was one of the most successful season
- 17:10Speaker 2: ones ever, if not the most successful. So twenty years
- 17:14Speaker 2: later and you could be at the height of the
- 17:18Speaker 2: show twenty years in. That's not only really encouraging for
- 17:22Speaker 2: the fans of the franchise, it's also just a wild
- 17:26Speaker 2: thought that you could have twenty more years of the show.
- 17:29Speaker 2: That's a forty year run on television.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I really think it could go that far because I
- 17:35Speaker 1: don't think the viewership is going down. These Bravo fans,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and now that we have Bravo con like, you're getting
- 17:40Speaker 1: closer to these celebrities than you've ever have and you're
- 17:45Speaker 1: also like following their life on social media as well now,
- 17:47Speaker 1: so people are just becoming even more die hard. But yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: so we get a little intro from all of them,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and we start off in Atlanta where we meet Portia
- 17:58Speaker 1: and Nini. Nini Leaks is obviously iconic, and she's been
- 18:01Speaker 1: on so many different reality shows and spin offs. I'm
- 18:04Speaker 1: sure you're even well aware of who she is. And
- 18:07Speaker 1: Porscha's saying that she's now in a lesbian relationship, which
- 18:11Speaker 1: I didn't know about, but I love that for them,
- 18:16Speaker 1: and I think it's so funny that they made the
- 18:19Speaker 1: comment that Portia can't have long nails anymore. It's like,
- 18:26Speaker 1: that's so iconic, so funny. My favorite part of the
- 18:31Speaker 1: episode was basically, I'm allieving that she didn't have long
- 18:34Speaker 1: nails anywhere because she's in that relationship. So fun little PG.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Thirteen, so good. The ladies start out in Orange County.
- 18:44Speaker 2: They meet in Orange County, I'm assuming because Vicky is
- 18:47Speaker 2: the original housewife and Orange County started twenty years ago,
- 18:54Speaker 2: as we've kind of like alluded to. And what we
- 18:59Speaker 2: learn is that it to celebrate this twenty years of success,
- 19:04Speaker 2: the ladies are going to be kind of traveling around,
- 19:08Speaker 2: not only inviting fans in, because you obviously saw the
- 19:12Speaker 2: fans taking pictures of the women, kind of walking onto
- 19:14Speaker 2: the boat, but just to reminisce on things that have happened.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I'm also assuming within this, Lauren, new things will happen
- 19:24Speaker 2: because you're getting these ladies together, and I don't know
- 19:27Speaker 2: how you have this many personalities sitting together in close
- 19:32Speaker 2: proximity without new iconic moments popping up.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I know, I feel like we're already getting them. I
- 19:38Speaker 1: mean the egos also, because everyone is saying I'm most iconic,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I'm the most iconic, and they have the cardboard cutouts
- 19:46Speaker 1: of all of them from their first season on the boat. Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 1: and that was the start of it, I think. And
- 19:55Speaker 1: they all look great, but I honestly think they all
- 19:57Speaker 1: look more beautiful now than they did before. And Vicky,
- 20:03Speaker 1: they're all like who looks the most different or whatever?
- 20:07Speaker 1: And Vicky was like, I think Teresa. But Vicky said
- 20:10Speaker 1: it more as a compliment I think in Teresa probably,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and everyone's like, why would you say that? Why would
- 20:15Speaker 1: you say that? Because you're eluding like, oh, twenty years later,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you look different, you must look old. No, Teresa looks
- 20:22Speaker 1: banging now. And I feel like that needed to be
- 20:24Speaker 1: like dissected a little bit more because I think drama
- 20:27Speaker 1: is coming, and then she goes, I just got the
- 20:30Speaker 1: tip of my nose done, and I'm like, well, sure,
- 20:34Speaker 1: maybe that's the most the only thing you got done
- 20:37Speaker 1: under general anesthesia, but other things have definitely happened, so
- 20:44Speaker 1: that here come the arguments.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Well, and yeah, it's one of the best things about
- 20:50Speaker 2: this show so far that I love is it's all
- 20:52Speaker 2: like a lot of arguments come from misunderstandings and miscommunications.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Like people have decent intentions and they say it and
- 21:01Speaker 2: they can't help but put their foot in their mouth
- 21:03Speaker 2: even when they're trying to compliment. I took it the
- 21:06Speaker 2: same way you did. Thank you, Vicky was like, but
- 21:09Speaker 2: it wasn't like a negative. It was a yeah, you
- 21:13Speaker 2: just looked the most different. But it's not like you're
- 21:15Speaker 2: unrecognizable and you look great but amazing you can see
- 21:21Speaker 2: the things happening. Yes, the stand up cutouts were a
- 21:25Speaker 2: very I think we're a good thought. It's a good
- 21:31Speaker 2: little shtick that the show thought of is to put
- 21:33Speaker 2: those up so good.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And it obviously was a compliment to Teresa. She took
- 21:39Speaker 1: it the wrong way. But what I thought was actually
- 21:41Speaker 1: shady was I think it was Gizelle. I think in
- 21:44Speaker 1: looks at Luallan and goes, what were you twelve? And
- 21:48Speaker 1: it's like, oh, well, that's actually alluding to the aging,
- 21:51Speaker 1: which would have pissed me off, But the other one
- 21:54Speaker 1: looking different doesn't piss me off. So I wonder if
- 21:57Speaker 1: lu Aenne's going to have that ruminate over the next
- 21:59Speaker 1: couple days.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Is we have some iconic moments that are highlighted during
- 22:05Speaker 2: the past seasons. Vicky says she has a lot of
- 22:09Speaker 2: iconic moments. As Lauren mentioned, everybody here wants to be
- 22:12Speaker 2: the most iconic. The kig stand at her son's college
- 22:15Speaker 2: is one. Kyle says the Amsterdam dinner running in her
- 22:20Speaker 2: cape is hers. It kind of reminds me of an
- 22:24Speaker 2: Ashley moment.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I thought the same exact thing, just avoiding conflict, running
- 22:29Speaker 1: out of there, running away.
- 22:31Speaker 2: My wife would do the same thing.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah. It's like, I am so embarrassed by
- 22:37Speaker 1: you guys. I'm not being a part of this.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I'm out. Lisa says her hot Mike moment talking about Meredith.
- 22:44Speaker 2: You can tell that that's not a moment she necessarily
- 22:47Speaker 2: wants to relive. It sounds like it's been she's regretful
- 22:53Speaker 2: for it.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Heather quickly, could you just I didn't understand that
- 22:58Speaker 1: part because I never watched that. What did she say?
- 23:02Speaker 3: She says that Meredith like sleeps with everybody in New York. Uh,
- 23:08Speaker 3: Meredith is very married and has been for a very
- 23:11Speaker 3: long time. So when she made those kinds of comments
- 23:15Speaker 3: and Meredith was her quote unquote best friend, that was
- 23:19Speaker 3: very dramatic.
- 23:21Speaker 1: So was it true or she was just making applies?
- 23:24Speaker 3: Meredith claims that it was not true, and Lisa pretty
- 23:28Speaker 3: much doubled back on it after she heard the mic
- 23:31Speaker 3: stuff was used and apologized, okay.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Great. Porsia talks about Kenya with the megaphone, the reunion
- 23:43Speaker 2: set up when people started bringing in little trinkets to
- 23:48Speaker 2: the reunion.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I love a trinket at a reunion.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Giselle talks about her birthday party where she sat in
- 23:56Speaker 2: the middle Teresa's obviously her table flipping moment. Probably the
- 24:01Speaker 2: moment not being a fan that I've heard about the
- 24:05Speaker 2: most and that everybody now like references around me. In fact,
- 24:11Speaker 2: I've become friends with the producer of that episode and
- 24:15Speaker 2: they talk and like when we have meetings, that is
- 24:18Speaker 2: one of the first things talked about. And I guess
- 24:22Speaker 2: from a production standpoint, he's a legend for the producer
- 24:26Speaker 2: of that show.
- 24:28Speaker 1: That's amazing. Yeah, that was some amazing content. And you
- 24:31Speaker 1: could see the security coming in after she starts flipping
- 24:33Speaker 1: the table and be like, all right, we got enough.
- 24:35Speaker 1: That was that was great. Guys don't actually kill each other.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Oh and my final favorite moment was Luanne when she
- 24:42Speaker 1: brought home a guy again and then one of the
- 24:46Speaker 1: other ladies was like, like judging her, and she goes,
- 24:50Speaker 1: be cool, don't be like all uncool, and I'm like, yes,
- 24:53Speaker 1: the lens so funny. She's just so an. That was
- 24:56Speaker 1: so unintentionally funny.
- 25:08Speaker 2: You kind of run through this whole episode with throwbacks
- 25:11Speaker 2: and memories and moments. Now we have flashbacks to past seasons.
- 25:21Speaker 2: We have Porsche doing twerking lessons on the boat. And
- 25:28Speaker 2: one thing I didn't understand watching it was during this
- 25:34Speaker 2: and they're gonna go to an eighties Bunco party, a
- 25:38Speaker 2: van comes and picks up the women and I guess
- 25:41Speaker 2: this is a throwback to an iconic moment with Vicky
- 25:44Speaker 2: and a van. Kyle says that this is just a
- 25:47Speaker 2: joke and not their ride to the party. There's again
- 25:54Speaker 2: I just I think, Lauren, what I'm learning is there's
- 25:56Speaker 2: so many inside jokes to this ranchos.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I wasn't aware of it, but they do clip
- 26:05Speaker 1: it and then you can see what she was referring to.
- 26:09Speaker 1: What I took away from this was that, like, the
- 26:13Speaker 1: women don't really remember it because or I'll say, like, oh,
- 26:17Speaker 1: this is a joke. But also how rude they are
- 26:20Speaker 1: to this man driving this van.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You know, I hope he was warned.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I'm sure he was warning, like this is going to
- 26:27Speaker 1: be a joke, But what if it wasn't a joke
- 26:29Speaker 1: because people are so mean?
- 26:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I think mean is definitely one of the top
- 26:35Speaker 2: words I would use to describe the house spot wives.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So far as they can be mean, they can be vicious.
- 26:42Speaker 2: They had to an iconic dinner spot the Quiet Woman
- 26:48Speaker 2: in the OC, and there we get to meet a
- 26:51Speaker 2: few more iconic franchise housewives. Tamera, Joe, Gina, Heather, and
- 26:58Speaker 2: Shannon are at the dinner.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I was not aware that Heather was an OC housewife.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I thought she was a Beverly Hills housewife. Heather, am
- 27:06Speaker 1: I missing something? Did she switch franchises?
- 27:09Speaker 3: No, So she's always been an OC housewife, but she
- 27:13Speaker 3: lives in Beverly Hills in these later seasons. So her husband,
- 27:20Speaker 3: famous plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, has always had a practice
- 27:24Speaker 3: in Beverly Hills and I believe one in OC. So
- 27:28Speaker 3: they famously sold their forty million dollar house in Orange
- 27:34Speaker 3: County that they custom built I want to say, three
- 27:38Speaker 3: years ago, and then got a place in Beverly Hills
- 27:41Speaker 3: in a high tower.
- 27:42Speaker 1: And I'm gonna call you chat ebt from now.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Really, it's really actually insane the amount of knowledge
- 27:50Speaker 3: I know on these women. But yes, so you're not
- 27:54Speaker 3: wrong in the sense that she lives in Beverly Hills
- 27:57Speaker 3: but is part of the OC cast. And trust me,
- 28:00Speaker 3: people in the Bravo verse have said for years, when
- 28:02Speaker 3: is Heather going to transition to the Beverly Hills cast?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Which I think happened. Okay, great, and they have Vicky
- 28:11Speaker 1: make a speech or Vicky makes a speech about you
- 28:15Speaker 1: know how it's been twenty years. This is crazy, all
- 28:17Speaker 1: these people in a room, and then she refers to Slade,
- 28:20Speaker 1: who is Tamra's husband.
- 28:23Speaker 3: No, okay, so Blade actually is an iconic real housewife's
- 28:30Speaker 3: husband because he actually was with two women on the
- 28:33Speaker 3: OC cast. So he was first introduced to us on
- 28:37Speaker 3: season one or two and he was Joe's fiance at
- 28:42Speaker 3: the time, so that's why Joe was at this party.
- 28:45Speaker 3: So they were engaged. They ended up not getting married,
- 28:48Speaker 3: and then a couple seasons later he popped up and
- 28:51Speaker 3: started dating Gretchen, who was the new girl on the
- 28:54Speaker 3: scene who had just lost her husband. Her husband had
- 28:57Speaker 3: passed away. Fast forward all these years later and Gretchen
- 29:01Speaker 3: and Slade have been together for over eleven years. She
- 29:05Speaker 3: proposed to him, Oh but they've actually she proposed to
- 29:09Speaker 3: him on the show, but they've actually never gone through
- 29:14Speaker 3: with the wedding and vows and all of that. They
- 29:20Speaker 3: talked about it, but they basically just call each other
- 29:23Speaker 3: husband and wife. They've been together for like over eleven
- 29:25Speaker 3: years now.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Okay, So Slade just somehow has been making fun of
- 29:30Speaker 1: Vicky's appearance like throughout the years.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Now, that was just what he used to do when
- 29:35Speaker 3: he was like on the show, Gretchen Slade Vicky did
- 29:40Speaker 3: not get along, so yes, he called her miss Piggy.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Okay, it's so mean, and you can obviously see that
- 29:46Speaker 1: Vicky is like still traumatized by this she's still traumatized
- 29:49Speaker 1: by her divorce and she's traumatized by being called miss
- 29:53Speaker 1: Piggy and why that's why she got surgery and it's
- 29:56Speaker 1: really sad. And then Luanne picks up a picture of
- 29:58Speaker 1: Slade that was framed like a memorial or something, and
- 30:03Speaker 1: I love the smashing of that. And then was it
- 30:06Speaker 1: Tamra that was like, VICKI, you don't need surgery, You
- 30:10Speaker 1: don't need surgery. She's like, I got the surgery. It's done.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Am I right.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I don't remember who said it, but it was definitely
- 30:18Speaker 3: one of them who's like, you don't need it. But
- 30:20Speaker 3: she definitely already had this done years ago. It was
- 30:23Speaker 3: talked about on the show that she had history.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and all the other women that aren't OC seemed
- 30:30Speaker 1: to be shocked at how loud the OC women are.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It's is that like a known thing where OC women
- 30:37Speaker 2: are loud.
- 30:39Speaker 1: They're always yelling, even when they're saying the most simple
- 30:42Speaker 1: of things.
- 30:43Speaker 3: As a woman who was born and raised in the OC,
- 30:45Speaker 3: I will say that I don't think we're all loud,
- 30:48Speaker 3: but I do think that the women on this show
- 30:50Speaker 3: are exceptionally loud.
- 30:51Speaker 1: That's a good clarification.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yes, Heather, did you grow up with any of these women?
- 30:55Speaker 2: Like did you know any of them? No?
- 30:57Speaker 3: I did not, But it's so funny because I mean,
- 31:01Speaker 3: like the quiet Woman is like not only like a
- 31:03Speaker 3: staple on the show, but it's like a staple in
- 31:06Speaker 3: my family. And like a lot of the places that
- 31:09Speaker 3: they've they've gone throughout the years, like even they were
- 31:11Speaker 3: at the surf and sand for the filming of this episode.
- 31:15Speaker 3: These are all just like really well known spots, like
- 31:18Speaker 3: in the area of where I grew up.
- 31:20Speaker 2: It's not it's not like a huge area. So you
- 31:24Speaker 2: really love watching your hometown.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Oh it's the show premiered when I was graduating from
- 31:31Speaker 3: high school, so like I did not know these people,
- 31:35Speaker 3: but I feel like they were like my friend's moms
- 31:38Speaker 3: that I grew up with. Like they're very indicative of
- 31:41Speaker 3: the o C.
- 31:42Speaker 1: The star is a line for you because that's like
- 31:44Speaker 1: a time where you start watching rally television and it's
- 31:46Speaker 1: your own hometown. And that's probably why like you you like.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Trust me, Lauren, we also have the o C at
- 31:52Speaker 3: the same time, like with and Laguna Beach, Like my
- 31:55Speaker 3: hometown was poppin' when I was growing up.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Oh, that's so amazing. Oh, I love that for you
- 32:02Speaker 1: so good.
- 32:04Speaker 2: The rest of this episode, leading up to what will
- 32:07Speaker 2: for sure be a very fun watch, you know, for
- 32:12Speaker 2: the rest of this road trip includes drama between Shannon
- 32:18Speaker 2: and Tamra. Yes, also drama between Vicky and Tamra.
- 32:25Speaker 3: M h.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Shannon and Tamra I don't really know about, but I'm
- 32:33Speaker 1: assuming Shannon was an alcoholic in Tameras holding that over
- 32:36Speaker 1: her head for some reason. And then Vicky was kind
- 32:39Speaker 1: of talking about Tamra to all the girls and especially Gazelle,
- 32:42Speaker 1: and Gizelle took it upon herself to be like, hey,
- 32:45Speaker 1: Vicky was talking shit about you, and then that turned
- 32:50Speaker 1: into something that was kind of a very small fight.
- 32:53Speaker 1: But it seems like what we're getting here is Gizelle
- 32:56Speaker 1: likes things being out in the open, in disgust and
- 32:59Speaker 1: not talked behind each other's back, and that she goes,
- 33:01Speaker 1: that's how we do in Potomac. So I think we're
- 33:06Speaker 1: gonna get a lot more pop stirring from Giselle.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Is there anything that we haven't mentioned from the first episode, thoughts, excitement,
- 33:15Speaker 2: disappointments Lauren that we should bring up.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Not really, but it is making me want to watch
- 33:21Speaker 1: like the first season of OC just to kind of
- 33:24Speaker 1: like get my bearings. And it seems like amazing drama
- 33:30Speaker 1: between Shannon and Tamra that I'm missing out because I
- 33:33Speaker 1: don't know anything really about that, but I love that.
- 33:37Speaker 1: And we do see clips of when they do go
- 33:40Speaker 1: to the Berkshires, which is where Rhode Island comes in,
- 33:45Speaker 1: and we're obviously excited to see that because we see
- 33:47Speaker 1: Rosie screaming and I don't know if we see who
- 33:50Speaker 1: she's screaming to, but it's very on brand for her.
- 33:55Speaker 1: We also have I think it's next week when we
- 34:00Speaker 1: see Kyle kind of struggling with the fact that Herr
- 34:02Speaker 1: and Murraycio are no longer together. And then all the
- 34:05Speaker 1: ladies basically in this entire group have been divorced, and
- 34:09Speaker 1: so they all have been there and they basically say
- 34:13Speaker 1: it's the curse of being a housewife is a divorce.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Oh goodness, let's hope, I know, let's hope not a thing. Hey,
- 34:21Speaker 2: this will be a fun watch. If you haven't tuned
- 34:24Speaker 2: in to The Ultimate Girl's road Trip, it's worth going
- 34:29Speaker 2: back to, especially if you're a fan of the Housewives franchise,
- 34:32Speaker 2: or if you're like Laura and I and are just
- 34:33Speaker 2: being introduced to it through the Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I think Bravo's hope is not only can they pull
- 34:41Speaker 2: off this really fun twentieth year celebration, but that they
- 34:46Speaker 2: are doing exactly what Lauren just said. They're bringing in
- 34:49Speaker 2: people that maybe watched Rhode Island or haven't watched any
- 34:53Speaker 2: of it and are now now hearing about Housewives for
- 34:56Speaker 2: the first time, and they're going, I have to go
- 34:57Speaker 2: back and watch the previous season. It's a necessity for me,
- 35:02Speaker 2: and I think this is their hope, and it's always
- 35:05Speaker 2: fun to see if their hopes get pulled off or
- 35:08Speaker 2: not right. It's fun to analyze the ideas that happen
- 35:12Speaker 2: at the very top of these franchises, and these ideas
- 35:16Speaker 2: if they play out and increase the fan base or
- 35:20Speaker 2: makes the fan base go I'm so tired of so
- 35:22Speaker 2: much Housewives.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I cannot I don't think it's gonna go that way.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I can't wait to look at my Peacock account Peacock
- 35:32Speaker 1: and just see like number one is like og Orange County,
- 35:38Speaker 1: It's going to be number one. I feel it because
- 35:40Speaker 1: it is stirring up like, oh, that's amazing, and everyone
- 35:43Speaker 1: is craving the era of like what two thousand and nine?
- 35:47Speaker 1: What year was this? Other that the first one came out.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Twenty years ago at two thousand and six.
- 35:52Speaker 1: To have the six, Yeah, yes, and two Have six.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Fashion is back, so we're here for it.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Hey, we'll be here breaking down every episode of this
- 36:02Speaker 2: brand new, exciting adventure. Lauren's going to be along here
- 36:07Speaker 2: with me because she is our Real Housewives expert. The
- 36:11Speaker 2: Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Roaring twentieth Episode one is
- 36:17Speaker 2: out now. We will be back breaking down episode two
- 36:20Speaker 2: very very shortly. But until next time, I've been Ben.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I've been Lauren.
- 36:25Speaker 2: We'll talk to you soon.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Ye.
