- 0:01There are numerous types of power at work in the world and
- 0:04in us. Some of them can be viewed as
- 0:07dynamic powers, powers with movement, action and outward
- 0:12facing application of force. Others can be viewed as static
- 0:18powers, powers of holding, receiving and containing.
- 0:23Powers of withstanding the actions of force.
- 0:27For the most part, we tend to notice and pay attention to the
- 0:31dynamic powers more than those that are static in nature.
- 0:35We tend to favour offense rather than defence, so to speak.
- 0:41Yet static powers are the foundation and basis even of the
- 0:45dynamic ones, and for the spiritual seeker may turn out to
- 0:51be some of the most important powers to develop and cultivate.
- 0:57Common example can be found in everyday life.
- 1:00Someone says or does something that is aimed to hurt you or
- 1:03make you angry. They try to provoke a
- 1:06vibrational reaction and generally that is what occurs.
- 1:11One returns anger for anger, insult for insult, and in many
- 1:17cases there is an escalation until the parties either come to
- 1:21blows or reach a point of no return where a relationship is
- 1:28shattered or litigation ensues, or some other hostile act
- 1:34occurs. The response is an illustration
- 1:38of dynamic power which goes out and acts.
- 1:43Much more difficult is the ability to not respond in kind,
- 1:48to not allow the vibration that is provoking you actually get
- 1:52inside you and starts your being vibrating equivalently, rather
- 1:58to remain truly calm and unperturbed.
- 2:02This is an example of static power, the power to withstand
- 2:06the force without spending energy responding.
- 2:11In the one case of dynamic power, the energy is expended
- 2:15and used up. In the other case it is
- 2:18conserved and allowed to be applied.
- 2:21Otherwise, in applications of one's choice, it is not an
- 2:26either or choice between static and dynamic power, but the need
- 2:31to manage the energy flow and use each in an appropriate
- 2:35manner, in the right way, at the right time and in the right
- 2:40circumstance. In that case, the ability to
- 2:44store and not spill energy that is the result of static power
- 2:49provides the basis, foundation and necessary resource to apply
- 2:54the dynamic power when it is called for.
- 2:59The mother observes quote, there is a static power.
- 3:03How to explain it to you? Look, there's the same
- 3:07difference between static power and dynamic power as between a
- 3:11game of defence and a game of attack.
- 3:15You understand it is the same thing.
- 3:18Static power is something which can withstand everything.
- 3:21Nothing can act upon it, nothing can touch it, nothing can shake
- 3:26it. It is immobile, but it is
- 3:29invincible. Dynamic power is something in
- 3:32action which at times goes forth and may at times receive blows.
- 3:39That is to say, if you want your dynamic power to be always
- 3:43victorious, it must be supported by a considerable static power
- 3:49and unshakeable base. End Quote.
