- 0:03Speaker 1: In a world of rules in gray areas, one radio
- 0:07Speaker 1: station dares to ask the hard question, is it legal to.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Ride in the bed of a pickup truck?
- 0:16Speaker 3: You know, in some states, riding in the bed of
- 0:19Speaker 3: a pickup truck will get you pulled over faster than
- 0:21Speaker 3: you can say tailgate.
- 0:23Speaker 4: But here in North Dakota, totally legal. All right, yup?
- 0:27Speaker 3: You can hop right in the back, feel that prairie wind,
- 0:30Speaker 3: smack you across the face, wave to your fellow North
- 0:35Speaker 3: dakotain's as you ride by. Riding in the bed of
- 0:38Speaker 3: a pickup truck is generally legal here in North Dakota
- 0:42Speaker 3: under state law, with no specific ban statewide for adults
- 0:48Speaker 3: or miners. That's been enacted of as the last the
- 0:52Speaker 3: latest updates here.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Nice.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Now, there are some caveats, so I'm not suggesting anyone
- 0:57Speaker 3: go do this, but persons under eighteen likely need to
- 1:01Speaker 3: be properly restrained. If there are no restraints available aka
- 1:05Speaker 3: some type of seat belt, it could be a legal issue.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Keyword there is could Local laws might prohibit it in
- 1:14Speaker 3: certain places. Right maybe if you you know and wap
- 1:17Speaker 3: it in, it might be different than it is here
- 1:18Speaker 3: in Fargo.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Okay, all right. Even without a law, it's.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Always important to remember riding in a bed is risky
- 1:24Speaker 3: and may lead to citations under unsafe manner or failure
- 1:30Speaker 3: to use restraint laws, depending on these circumstances. So is
- 1:36Speaker 3: it legal technically it could be, but just to remember
- 1:40Speaker 3: no seat belts, no airbags, and definitely no cup holders.
- 1:43Speaker 3: All right, maybe leave your soup and sense of balance
- 1:47Speaker 3: at home North Dakota, where freedom still rides in the
- 1:52Speaker 3: bed of the truck.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Well, don't keep me waiting, Gabe, tell me what's your
- 2:00Speaker 1: little victory.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Well, you know me right, I'm a big arts and
- 2:04Speaker 4: crafts guy, Yes, question mark.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yesterday I participated in some arts and crafts at the
- 2:14Speaker 3: glitten House. Oh okay, and I think I'll need another
- 2:17Speaker 3: coat of paint here. But I painted a Jack Frost
- 2:21Speaker 3: skeleton pumpkin yesterday at the Glittenhouse with Corey, and it
- 2:27Speaker 3: actually turned out pretty good. I found like an idea
- 2:29Speaker 3: on the internet. Yeah, and sort of, you know, well
- 2:33Speaker 3: not sort of. I copied it basically, but I didn't
- 2:36Speaker 3: have like I had to free hand it. I didn't
- 2:38Speaker 3: have like a console, so and it turned out pretty solid.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I gotta put another coat of white paint over this pumpkin.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But it turned out pretty good. Corey and I painted
- 2:49Speaker 3: pumpkins yesterday for Halloween while watching the new Monster season
- 2:55Speaker 3: three series on Netflix.
- 2:57Speaker 4: You might be familiar with the Monster.
- 2:59Speaker 3: They did this story of Jeffrey Dahmer and then they
- 3:02Speaker 3: did the story of the Menendez brothers. Now it's season
- 3:05Speaker 3: three starring Charlie Hunham, who you might know from.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Oh from Sons of Anarchy's.
- 3:10Speaker 3: The Manarchy, Thank You, and he is now playing ed
- 3:13Speaker 3: Gean in season three of Monster. So we painted pumpkins
- 3:18Speaker 3: while watching that in our kitchen yesterday.
- 3:21Speaker 4: And I addimate spooky. I had a great time doing it.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And I am not in arts and crafts let me
- 3:27Speaker 3: paint the pumpkin kind of guy, but it was fun.
- 3:29Speaker 4: It was very halloweeny at our household.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Are you guys gonna set those out on the porch?
- 3:33Speaker 1: Like can I roll by and see them?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Oh?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah, well, definitely set them out.
- 3:37Speaker 3: We got the thing is, we got to figure out
- 3:39Speaker 3: this paint because what we have is this glow in
- 3:41Speaker 3: the dark paint.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Uh huh.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And so I don't know how many coats I have
- 3:46Speaker 3: to do because obviously the paint needs to sit out
- 3:48Speaker 3: in the sun and kind of charge up. Oh okay,
- 3:50Speaker 3: it's gonna sit outside today and then we'll see how
- 3:53Speaker 3: much more of this paint I have to do next year.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I'm not doing that paint though, all right.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I'm marching my little booty to Low's or home d
- 4:00Speaker 3: or wherever, and I'm getting me some glitten paint.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Okay, Oh that's right. Wait, are you air to.
- 4:07Speaker 4: The wouldn't that be right? Yeah, I'll tell you right now.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I wouldn't be right here.
- 4:14Speaker 3: But so I had a good time doing some arts
- 4:17Speaker 3: and crafts, which I normally do not like doing.
- 4:19Speaker 1: What a great little victory mine is very vain but
- 4:23Speaker 1: exciting to me. So right now I'm wearing a pair
- 4:28Speaker 1: of jeans, Gabe, that I have not been able to
- 4:32Speaker 1: wear since March of this year because my mom shrunk
- 4:37Speaker 1: them in the dryer and I was like, Mom, I
- 4:40Speaker 1: can't afford for these to shrinky. Girl is not a
- 4:43Speaker 1: slender lady. But I've been, you know, working hard on
- 4:47Speaker 1: eating right and whatever, and so I've lost a few pounds.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And so today I pulled up these jeans and I
- 4:53Speaker 1: buttoned them nicely, and I got them zipped up, and
- 4:55Speaker 1: I am wearing a pair of jeans I couldn't wear.
- 4:57Speaker 5: For a lot.
- 4:59Speaker 3: That's an odd that's an awesome victory. I wouldn't even
- 5:02Speaker 3: call that a little victory. That's just a good victory,
- 5:04Speaker 3: a good, wholesome victory.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I appreciate that game. I'm walking around here feeling myself.
- 5:09Speaker 3: That's right, okay, okay, which is normally how her angie's
- 5:13Speaker 3: day goes. But we got a little extra pep in
- 5:16Speaker 3: the pep step here.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Now, Selena Gomez and her mother and a bit of
- 5:25Speaker 3: a tizzy. Her mother was not thrilled that Selena Gomez
- 5:28Speaker 3: shows to have her grandfather walk her down the aisle
- 5:32Speaker 3: at her wedding.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I recall this.
- 5:35Speaker 3: And now you know traditionally it's usually you know, dad
- 5:39Speaker 3: who does it right. Yeah, and sometimes dad and mom.
- 5:42Speaker 3: You know I've seen that as well.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that was.
- 5:45Speaker 1: When Mikey's daughter got married in November. It was dad
- 5:48Speaker 1: and mom.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and so my wife when she walked down, it
- 5:52Speaker 3: was actually our two nephews.
- 5:56Speaker 4: She had an older sister.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Sadly she's that sister is no longer, so that sister
- 6:01Speaker 3: had two kids or whatever. Yeah, and those two walked
- 6:04Speaker 3: Corey down the aisle three, so very not traditionally what
- 6:09Speaker 3: you would see, right, And so this morning I was
- 6:12Speaker 3: kind of wondering, Hey, Selena Gomez, she had her grandpa
- 6:15Speaker 3: walker down the aisle side of her mom, and I believe.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It's her stepdad.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, And did you have anything at your wedding that
- 6:22Speaker 3: was maybe, you know, slightly unusual Maybe that's not the word,
- 6:26Speaker 3: but just different than maybe the traditional standard kind of
- 6:30Speaker 3: thing seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Now I am fascinated every time I hear a story
- 6:36Speaker 3: about Angie's wedding, because finding Angie, to me was like
- 6:40Speaker 3: finding a unicorn. I mean, it was like finding one
- 6:42Speaker 3: of those golden tickets in Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I have been trying to track down an individual who
- 6:49Speaker 3: had a Las Vegas Elvis Chapel wedding my entire life,
- 6:54Speaker 3: and here I have you, and we have heard that story.
- 6:57Speaker 3: But was there anything else with your web Angie that
- 7:00Speaker 3: was maybe a bit unusual other than the fact you
- 7:03Speaker 3: had a hunk of burn in love doing the the
- 7:05Speaker 3: US You can't wait.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let me first of all, officiating, not bro I'm not dead.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Oh sorry, that was Dolly pardon I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 7:15Speaker 1: No, let me be clear. There was an Elvis statue. Oh,
- 7:21Speaker 1: not an impersonator, but there was the Elvis presence.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And yeah, it was a small wedding. I wore a black.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Dress, very not very not traditional, a black dress from
- 7:33Speaker 1: the Sophia Vegata collection whence she had clothes at kmart.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It was a nice dress and six inch leopard print heels. So,
- 7:41Speaker 1: like my wedding was very non traditional, but it also
- 7:46Speaker 1: ended a friendship.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Really.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Yes, one of my closest friends. I did not invite
- 7:52Speaker 1: her to the wedding, but it was because it was
- 7:55Speaker 1: super small the wedding, it was like very few people.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It was me and my husband obviously. So then on
- 8:02Speaker 1: my side, I had one of my closest friends, Brandy,
- 8:06Speaker 1: who paid for the wedding.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Because it was a cheapy Vegas wedding. For sixty bucks,
- 8:10Speaker 4: you get the automatic invice.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so she paid for the wedding. And also I'm
- 8:13Speaker 1: really close with her. And then my mom and Aiden,
- 8:17Speaker 1: who was like a year old at the time because
- 8:20Speaker 1: I had him out of wedlock anyway, So that was
- 8:23Speaker 1: on my side. And then on my ex's side, it
- 8:26Speaker 1: was his best friend and his grandparents because he wasn't
- 8:29Speaker 1: talking to his parents at the time, So.
- 8:31Speaker 2: That was it super small.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Sounds like a toxic, dysfunctional situation, but it.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Turned out to be exactly that.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yes, but oh yeah, we are not together anymore.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But because of this small wedding where I did not
- 8:46Speaker 1: invite this other friend of mine, she was very offended
- 8:50Speaker 1: and we stopped being friends. Like she just ghosted me
- 8:54Speaker 1: and I tried to reach out after and she was
- 8:56Speaker 1: really offended and it took seven years for us us
- 9:00Speaker 1: to ever talk again.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Wow, Hey, Jack, can you top that? We decided to
- 9:05Speaker 4: not have anyone make a speech at the wedding.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Every wedding we've ever been to, the speech is always
- 9:10Speaker 5: the thing that.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Brings a party to a crashing hole.
- 9:13Speaker 5: So we got rid of them. And it did not
- 9:16Speaker 5: go over very well.
- 9:17Speaker 3: With my parents. Jack, I kind of liked that. I'm
- 9:19Speaker 3: sorry it didn't go over well with your parents, but
- 9:21Speaker 3: you are right. If you have even one like ten
- 9:24Speaker 3: seconds of one of the billions of speeches that stink, yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 3: the vibe is killed.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah that's true. All right, what about you, Tricia.
- 9:35Speaker 5: My husband's side doesn't drink, so we decided to have
- 9:38Speaker 5: a dry wedding, and my family acted like I told
- 9:41Speaker 5: him there would be no oxygen. My uncle even brought
- 9:44Speaker 5: a flask and got caught during the toast.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I would just I would have been the uncle. I
- 9:49Speaker 4: would have too.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, if you want to do a dry wedding, I
- 9:51Speaker 3: think that's great, that's awesome, that's dope for you. Yeah. I, however,
- 9:54Speaker 3: am not going to do that right sneaking off to
- 9:57Speaker 3: the parking lot.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Mikey discovered, well not discovered, but he finally brought
- 10:05Speaker 1: up something to me that I do that he consider, Yes,
- 10:11Speaker 1: that he considers.
- 10:12Speaker 2: A beige flag.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So you hear about red flags, right, stuff that people
- 10:16Speaker 1: do in relationships where it's like, no, that's horrible, it's
- 10:20Speaker 1: a red flag. You got to get out of there.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And then green flags, which is that's a sweet, wonderful thing.
- 10:26Speaker 2: They're great, hooray green flag.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And then there's the beige flag, which essentially is neutral.
- 10:34Speaker 1: It's not bad or good, it's just kind of like
- 10:37Speaker 1: a quirky Yes. So he noticed and brought up to
- 10:44Speaker 1: me that at any given time in the house, he
- 10:48Speaker 1: will hear this sound.
- 10:53Speaker 4: And that is the.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 1: But that's my alarm because I set timers for everything.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So like when I go to bed, instead of setting
- 11:07Speaker 1: necessarily an alarm that's like wake me up at three
- 11:10Speaker 1: thirty am, I just set a timer for X amount
- 11:14Speaker 1: of hours, which is insane, by the way.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Well it's how I do it.
- 11:18Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I'll set it for eight hours.
- 11:21Speaker 4: But you sit there and like do the math.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I just I go to bed and I say I
- 11:26Speaker 1: want eight hours of sleep, and so I set the timers.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So then if I'm like tossing and turning whatever, and
- 11:31Speaker 1: I look over to my phone, it'll show me, girl,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you better get to sleep because you only have six
- 11:37Speaker 1: hours left or whatever.
- 11:39Speaker 3: We what if eight hours is you'll like oversleep your
- 11:44Speaker 3: doctor's appointment.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I mean, well, I check it.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I check it to make sure that I'm setting it
- 11:48Speaker 1: at the right thing. But it's not just that. It's
- 11:50Speaker 1: not just when we go to sleep. I'll set a
- 11:52Speaker 1: timer for how long I want to watch TV. So
- 11:55Speaker 1: I'll set it for like an hour and a half,
- 11:57Speaker 1: and then when the timer goes off, I move on
- 11:59Speaker 1: to something else. When I'm getting ready for work, I
- 12:03Speaker 1: set a timer so I give myself twenty minutes. Like
- 12:07Speaker 1: I set timers for every task. Throughout the day, so
- 12:11Speaker 1: at any moment, you'll just be hearing this.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Your house perpetually sounds like this.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I would go insane if everywhere I went I
- 12:19Speaker 3: had to hear this.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Okay, well I do that. No, no, no, that is
- 12:24Speaker 4: flirting with red flag.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I think you think it's a red flag that.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Is flirting with red flag.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'm just trying to keep myself this on the schedule. Listen.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I'm Latina, so in my blood is being late. Okay.
- 12:41Speaker 2: These timers are to offset.
- 12:43Speaker 1: That, and I feel like that's responsible. In fact, I
- 12:47Speaker 1: think it should move from a beige flag to a
- 12:50Speaker 1: green flag. I don't like your silence.
- 12:54Speaker 3: It's a bit of a stretch here. We did ask
- 12:56Speaker 3: this question on Facebook, Kayla. She said, I loadedwasher and
- 13:00Speaker 3: he unloads. We've been in this house for five years
- 13:04Speaker 3: and he still puts things away in the wrong spot.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Occasionally I roll my eyes, but it's kind of funny
- 13:10Speaker 3: that I then have to hunt things down when I
- 13:12Speaker 3: need them, or open cupboards and drawers to find something
- 13:15Speaker 3: that doesn't belong there. She also added, he knows it
- 13:18Speaker 3: makes me chuckle, So I don't know if he does
- 13:20Speaker 3: it on purpose or if he's just honestly clueless. But
- 13:23Speaker 3: that is a big flag, you know, a base flag.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I have.
- 13:26Speaker 4: This flirts with a red flag. Oh gosh, on Corey's
- 13:29Speaker 4: being mean to me.
- 13:31Speaker 3: You know what I'll do. I'll go grab like the
- 13:33Speaker 3: salsa or the pickle jar. Yeah, and I will tighten
- 13:36Speaker 3: that bad boy down as hard as I can so
- 13:39Speaker 3: that she has to ask for help to get it open.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Ye.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Right, You're gonna be nice to me now, aren't you.
- 13:45Speaker 2: That's a red flag, my guy, Corey, run.
- 13:47Speaker 1: For the hell?
- 13:49Speaker 4: It flirts with red? Yeah, I'd like to call it
- 13:52Speaker 4: more of a magenta.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Oh gosh, well, a little crazy train.
- 14:02Speaker 4: What do you know about that, Angie? Huh?
- 14:05Speaker 1: I know that I like it when Little John is
- 14:08Speaker 1: on the The reason why you're hearing crazy train right
- 14:12Speaker 1: now is I have a family activity coming up towards
- 14:15Speaker 1: the end of October.
- 14:16Speaker 3: This has been booked for months and I'm actually kind
- 14:19Speaker 3: of looking forward to it.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 14:22Speaker 3: My mother, my sister, myself, Corey, I think, my dad,
- 14:28Speaker 3: and I think my brother. I actually don't know if
- 14:30Speaker 3: they're gone, doesn't matter. We are doing this like train
- 14:33Speaker 3: ride along the north Shore, just kind of north of Duluth, Minnesota.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Oh, a literal train, your team.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Literally hopping on a train. It's almost like a tour
- 14:42Speaker 3: kind of thing. And I think it's gonna be a
- 14:45Speaker 3: lot of fun. And normally, you know, you hear you
- 14:47Speaker 3: might hear a family activity and you're like, Okay, let
- 14:49Speaker 3: me get through this for two hours and enjoy you know,
- 14:51Speaker 3: my family.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Blah blah blah blahah. That's what my kids say every
- 14:53Speaker 4: single time.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm like family adventure and they're like, oh, brother, yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: oh yeah, we're going to Macy's, you know.
- 15:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 4: So I'm really looking forward to it. I think it'll
- 15:03Speaker 4: be a lot of fun.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And I've always wanted to take the amtrack that train, yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 3: from Chicago all the way to Seattle and back, just
- 15:11Speaker 3: to do it.
- 15:12Speaker 4: So I think this will be, you know, a close second. Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Have you ever been on a train?
- 15:16Speaker 3: Not that I can remember. I mean I'm sure I have,
- 15:19Speaker 3: and I just don't remember. Yeah, but you know, I've
- 15:21Speaker 3: been on like the subway that's sort of the same. No,
- 15:25Speaker 3: I mean, no, kind of is except the view.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Right, That's the point that like, I've taken an Amtrak.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I went from Seattle to Portland and that was a
- 15:34Speaker 1: great little trip.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, you're gonna have a good time.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So is this do you do family bonding things often?
- 15:43Speaker 3: Or this is kind of our Christmas deal? Oh okay,
- 15:46Speaker 3: kind of a Christmas thing. We wanted to do something
- 15:48Speaker 3: we would actually get to do and use and enjoy together,
- 15:51Speaker 3: as opposed like, oh here's a new shirt.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Well this is you know, well this is sweet. I
- 15:58Speaker 1: feel like it is going to be a good bond activity.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It's going to be a family adventure. You actually like
- 16:03Speaker 1: that's right?
- 16:03Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Have you ever had like a family bonding thing that
- 16:09Speaker 3: you actually enjoyed?
- 16:10Speaker 4: It was a good time? What about you, Jack?
- 16:12Speaker 5: I went on vacation with my family and we all
- 16:14Speaker 5: decided to do an escape room, and I have to
- 16:17Speaker 5: admit that was the most fun I've ever had with them.
- 16:20Speaker 4: That could be fun.
- 16:21Speaker 3: I think an escape room with your family would be
- 16:23Speaker 3: awesome because you can like slowly insult them when they
- 16:25Speaker 3: do something really really dumb, and it's your family, so
- 16:27Speaker 3: it's fine.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Gabe, that's exactly why I won't do
- 16:31Speaker 1: an escape room.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I'm not gonna pay money to be judged for my
- 16:35Speaker 2: poor critical thinking.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Exkis all right, Cindy, what about you? A family bonding
- 16:40Speaker 4: thing that you actually really enjoyed?
- 16:42Speaker 5: Road trips? I used to dread being trapped in the
- 16:44Speaker 5: car with my family for hours, but you know, there's
- 16:47Speaker 5: just something about those late night gas station stops and
- 16:51Speaker 5: the dumb inside jokes and everyone fighting over the ox
- 16:55Speaker 5: cord that ended up being kind of perfect. There's just
- 16:59Speaker 5: no pressure, there's no forced smiles. It's just shared chaos
- 17:03Speaker 5: and bad singing.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Yeah, that's okay.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It's when it's your family and you just feel free
- 17:08Speaker 1: to be an absolute monster.
- 17:10Speaker 4: That's the best.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 17:14Speaker 3: A family activity or a family bonding experience that you
- 17:17Speaker 3: really did enjoy? Big ninety eight point seven.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Who's this?
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's Lisa? How are you guys?
- 17:26Speaker 4: Are you good? And I have to tell you the
- 17:28Speaker 4: Amtrak is amazing.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I want to take it through Montana all the way
- 17:32Speaker 3: to Seattle one day.
- 17:34Speaker 5: So we actually go to Montana every year for skiing
- 17:38Speaker 5: and that's how we get there.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Oh, that sounds so fun.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Do you sit in like, what is it like the
- 17:43Speaker 3: lookout area where it's basically all glass?
- 17:46Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 17:46Speaker 4: The observer observer area area, yeah, observer area, yeah yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 5: And then underneath that there's like a little seven eleven.
- 17:55Speaker 5: You can get all the little food things, but you
- 17:58Speaker 5: can bring.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Your own little cooler.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And I packed Jimmy Johns.
- 18:04Speaker 4: What else do you pack in there, Lisa? And don't
- 18:06Speaker 4: you lie to me?
- 18:07Speaker 5: Oh everything, soda, some you know, drinks there.
- 18:20Speaker 3: You might have seen and or heard parts of this
- 18:22Speaker 3: story in the news, but nearly nine hundred people who
- 18:26Speaker 3: were stranded by a powerful weekend blizzard on the Chinese
- 18:31Speaker 3: side of Mount Everest have been rescued and brought to safety.
- 18:35Speaker 3: According to state media and local reports, the storm struck
- 18:39Speaker 3: Karma Valley that area on Saturday night and trapped about
- 18:43Speaker 3: five hundred eighty hikers and more than three hundred guides,
- 18:47Speaker 3: yak herders and staff at altitudes above sixteen thousand feet.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Rescuers arrived with food, oxygen, and heating supplies to help
- 18:56Speaker 3: those suffering from hypothermia, while local villagers assisted with oxygen
- 19:01Speaker 3: and horses to clear routes and lead groups down the mountain.
- 19:05Speaker 3: By Tuesday, all stranded trekkers had reached safety, marking the
- 19:09Speaker 3: successful conclusion of one of the largest search and rescue
- 19:13Speaker 3: operations in Mount Everest history. Many of the hikers had
- 19:18Speaker 3: camped in deep snow and extreme cold before being guided
- 19:20Speaker 3: out by emergency teams. All evacuees have been transported to
- 19:24Speaker 3: nearby towns and are working on their return travel. So
- 19:28Speaker 3: this ended up being an absolute nightmare for near one
- 19:31Speaker 3: thousand people, and it looks like all of them will
- 19:37Speaker 3: be okay, or at least should be okay, which is
- 19:39Speaker 3: just incredible. I mean, an issue of that scale, it's
- 19:44Speaker 3: kind of incredible.
- 19:45Speaker 4: I'm glad that it's finally over.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. They've been there for a hot minute, all right.
- 19:50Speaker 3: The world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 19:52Speaker 3: find one, you gotta be one. Have a great Thursday.
