- 0:00It's been a a journey for me to learn how to use that jam room,
- 0:03but I've been attempting. A prosperous journey.
- 0:05I'm getting better. You are.
- 0:07Dude, so you can. There's a definite quality
- 0:09difference that you notice when you do use it.
- 0:10But I am kind of jealous of the yeah, of the camcorder for
- 0:14sitting in the blind, for sure. Oh, mine's coming back out for
- 0:16sure. Yeah, I think.
- 0:17So although if I try to run that set up like Bo Mars got where
- 0:19it's double S, then there's no point and you can't do that and
- 0:22you don't either. That's Slick has that too.
- 0:24That's our plate. Yeah, yeah.
- 0:26No, that's right at the house, right?
- 0:27Now that's a crazy. That's a crazy.
- 0:30That's kind of an interesting thing that we talked about about
- 0:33this trip was like the usages that are optimal for different
- 0:39types of cameras. And because we all have do this
- 0:42a lot and we all film different types of stuff, I feel we're in
- 0:46a unique position a little bit to say for like this type of
- 0:50filming, this is the best, but for this, this is way better.
- 0:54You know, it's kind of interesting, I think when you
- 0:57start your journey as like a content person, you start with
- 0:59like one thing and then you're well, for this, this would be
- 1:02better than before you know it. Josh has 40 cameras with them
- 1:05like. So many cameras on the side.
- 1:09You go, Sir, you have to pay money to get the country.
- 1:11Look at you that expensive give money.
- 1:13So in your professional. Yeah, that's what he said.
- 1:16It's like, no. No leisure.
- 1:18Leisure vacation. Well, we did.
- 1:21He's like you say, porno filming, I'm filming.
- 1:23Pornos. Yeah, then they're totally.
- 1:25Cool. Tell me, tell me about, tell me
- 1:27about getting pulled over by security because I sort of did,
- 1:31but not really. I'll tell you mine real quick.
- 1:32So I go through the scanner, through the customs, and they
- 1:35pull out my binal harness and they're like this.
- 1:39At the binos. No, the harness and I go.
- 1:42So I opened it for him and he pulls out the binoculars.
- 1:44He's like. He's like a chip.
- 1:47It puts it away and then and then he's like trying to look in
- 1:50the bottom but can't. Say you say it's not offensive
- 2:01because he's a Mexican. What is happening?
- 2:08You acted like he. I did the exact same thing you
- 2:11did. I just made noises.
- 2:12He didn't make chimp noises and I think that's really what
- 2:15that's. Different hold.
- 2:16On SO, yeah, I think that's. The that is the racist.
- 2:20Part. It's not vibrant, it's meant to
- 2:24imply the ignorance of somebody who doesn't know what binoculars
- 2:27are. Which is hilarious when they're
- 2:28airport security. But so then I open the bottom
- 2:33and that that vinyl artist has that range Finder on the bottom.
- 2:36So I pull it out. Yeah, it it did get pretty funny
- 2:39looking through both sides of it.
- 2:41And I'm like. It tells you I'm.
- 2:43Trying to tell him what it does and he's like ranging it but
- 2:45it's not working. I'm like it's glass.
- 2:46It won't might not work on glass.
- 2:49Rains that work? It was this whole thing.
- 2:51And I'm like, he's going to take it for sure.
- 2:54This is going to suck. In the background going eat
- 2:56cocaine. But anyway, I got through, but
- 2:59you got shooken down even harder.
- 3:01Yeah, like they, I'm pretty sure they profiled me.
- 3:05Not not exaggerating because like, I can see the guy looking
- 3:08at me while I'm in line before it's even my turn.
- 3:10And as soon as he puts the stuff on the machine, he's pointing at
- 3:13me to put it over there where everyone's going through on the
- 3:15right and he over there. Yeah.
- 3:19Fuck. Subtle.
- 3:21You guys throw all my stuff and I'm literally helping him open.
- 3:23It's like he's trying to figure out open up.
- 3:24Like, no, no, if you open from here, it's easier.
- 3:27Went through all my stuff and was nitpicking every last little
- 3:30thing, like every last little thing.
- 3:32Like he's so looking for something to charge me for take
- 3:36from me. And then he opens my camera case
- 3:38and he just starts asking questions about it, which he
- 3:40doesn't even know what I'm saying back to him.
- 3:42Yeah. Is how much, How much, how much
- 3:45for this? It's like they're trying to find
- 3:47enough functional dollars worth of something that they know they
- 3:51can charge you and you'll pay it right.
- 3:53So in any event, they they told me I had to like, oh, you need
- 3:56to pay like a 200 US. I'm like, what?
- 3:58No, I've I've brought this through here at like 3 times.
- 4:01Yeah, nobody's ever tried to take money and they take me back
- 4:05to a a backroom and literally I'm like, I'm about fighting
- 4:08with the fucking. Guy, Yeah, you're about to get
- 4:09water boarded. Yeah, I know.
- 4:12I know and then he tries to look at me.
- 4:13He goes if you no pay, we take what do you do?
- 4:19Yeah, I don't know. I'm texting my God, I'm like,
- 4:21hey, they're trying to make me pay money.
- 4:23He's like, don't give them anything.
- 4:24And I'm like, well, now this makes it worse because you know
- 4:26not to do this. And he was trying to get in.
- 4:29They wouldn't let him in. Alex was trying to get back into
- 4:31the customs to so I because so he could speak Spanish and I
- 4:34could get the fricking out the heck out of there.
- 4:36Ended up getting shaken down for $92.
- 4:38That's better. Than didn't you say at one point
- 4:40at 1:00? Point they were trying to tell
- 4:41me it was $1700. Yeah.
- 4:43Like he was put like in the pacer converter and he was
- 4:45showing Josh like 7 like no. Yeah, that's so great.
- 4:49No. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 4:51God. Yeah, so if you want to support
- 4:52Josh when he gets his cameras taken heading back home, you can
- 4:56use. They don't take all the back.
- 4:57Home. It's English, yeah, but I
- 4:59appreciate. The but if you get him to 100K
- 5:02subscribers, his total pay get you all 15% all of January.
- 5:07Personally, I think we should stop talking about it so it
- 5:09stops at like 99,000 and something, something just I
- 5:12would love that rolls into January 1st and then boom,
- 5:15perfect. But no, it's not.
- 5:17It's worth. It's coming.
- 5:18Yeah. And then we still.
- 5:19Have what, 26 days? Yeah, like, yeah.
- 5:23But anyways, yeah, that's how you can support his cameras
- 5:25getting seized. Podium archer.com, Yeah.
- 5:28Yeah, discountgear.com. Team BD 20% Team.
- 5:32BDI am going to get some of that gear 20.
- 5:35Percent's us like that's, you know, it's a press and it's a
- 5:38discount. Yeah, you know.
- 5:39You know what I'd like to commend you on on that, on that
- 5:42coupon code, is that people have to kind of guess what it stands
- 5:46for. But they don't.
- 5:47But they do. Yeah.
- 5:49That's like last night. And I know about that.
- 5:50Yeah. Well, it's kind of like mine
- 5:52too. People kind of got to guess, but
- 5:53they kind of know what they kind of got to guess.
- 5:54I don't know. Yeah, it's like you're being
- 5:57naughty without proving you're naughty.
- 5:58And it's so. You because you are.
- 6:00Nasty, nasty. So yeah, anyway, we're we're in
- 6:03Mexico. For those who don't know this
- 6:05podcast, I don't know if it'll come out before or after y'all,
- 6:08but either way, check out their podcast, Cody Marching podcast.
- 6:12And yeah, it's been fun. What rate the food?
- 6:14Give me a food rating one to 10 while we've been here and what's
- 6:17been each Give me your top three meals.
- 6:20You definitely are more cultured than I should, so you should go
- 6:22for. 3rd place to personal, that's a little more so go for
- 6:243rd, 2nd. That's a tough one for for me to
- 6:27go for three. Top three.
- 6:29I know what my top. One is I bet we all have the
- 6:33same top. One, but we'll, I don't know.
- 6:35You know what, like I feel like the mule deer and the carne
- 6:39asada for me were were. Kind of tied for first.
- 6:41That's one and two, yeah, for sure.
- 6:43So what do you slot in three? And it could be a breakfast, it
- 6:45could be a lunch, it could be a dinner.
- 6:47Yeah, it might be that break this breakfast this morning.
- 6:49Actually, I really liked it. Like it was like a heavy layer
- 6:52of beans on these handmade tortillas and then a nice egg,
- 6:56onion, pepper mix with the habanero sauce on it and then
- 6:59immediately go take a raging fire up afterwards.
- 7:02But it was worth it. Oh yeah, the old Taco Bell.
- 7:05We've been Taco. Surprised you didn't throw the
- 7:07quesadillas in there 'cause you can run it back.
- 7:10Quesadilla. Porter Bar.
- 7:17Right by the damn. I'm so impressed with how I feel
- 7:21down here though. Like I feel said that every,
- 7:24every bit of food we've had has been like just there's no shit
- 7:27in it and it and you can feel it like after a couple of days,
- 7:31everybody just kind of goes, wow, we've all been sleeping
- 7:33amazing. We've been drinking excessive.
- 7:36And getting no hangovers. I know that was not.
- 7:39I was going to point that out. I was like, why don't we have
- 7:41Hangover? Yeah, this I could.
- 7:43Definitely drank enough to have. Hangover Oh for sure.
- 7:45I think it's I it's got to be the food quality because every
- 7:48single one of us has had multiple times as a strip didn't
- 7:50even take that long couple days in we all go why are we feeling
- 7:53just so good? And I think it's because the
- 7:55United States food is shit. I think it's really bad.
- 7:58I think there's also a chance that they're just constantly
- 8:00chem trailing over the top of us.
- 8:02This general malaise of goon that's that's achieved in the
- 8:05United States through government control.
- 8:08I also think Bill Gates. I'm just saying I also.
- 8:09Think what we've learned too is this is we're not wrong.
- 8:12This is another reason to back up hunting even more and and
- 8:15potentially get into hunting because that's one way you can
- 8:19control your food intake a lot more than going to the store and
- 8:22buying some ground bison. That that thing probably is
- 8:25blasted with steroids and gear peptides and shit, you know?
- 8:30He's sorry. Well, he's not wrong because I
- 8:32mean, anything to to raise the the weight of the animal for
- 8:35slaughter because it's being charged for by the pound.
- 8:38They'll do like Oh yeah, here. You've seen the size of a store
- 8:41bought chicken nowadays when you see a drumstick and it's like a
- 8:44Turkey. Yeah.
- 8:45And you're like bro, that I know that not.
- 8:47Yeah, this is not good. Yeah.
- 8:48And these people are here. Just go grab a chicken that's
- 8:50running around out here. And then.
- 8:53But it's. Yeah, it's so good.
- 8:54Like the salsa has been so freaking money down.
- 8:57Here 012000 Jarred Salsa just you could buy at the store.
- 9:02I don't, I don't, I don't understand it.
- 9:04But I thought Ray said I can't. I thought he did too, yeah.
- 9:06I could have sworn I saw her porn stuff.
- 9:09I might be wrong, if I'm wrong I apologize, but all of it's been
- 9:13it's been amazing. What's your top three you think?
- 9:15Honestly it's the same. I put mule deer one over the
- 9:18Carney because because it was cool, because it was, it was,
- 9:21well, it was my Mulder and it was very more unique flavour
- 9:24because I've had lots of carnage it.
- 9:26Was great. Right, I nothing was really
- 9:29tasted like that before. And of course it's got tortillas
- 9:32with it and those tortillas are just stupid.
- 9:36And it's, it's, it has, it has to be the, the GMO crap or
- 9:40something as I, when I went on the, the, oh, the Coos deer hunt
- 9:45last year, different branch, different people that say, yeah,
- 9:49tortillas were just like, these are incredible.
- 9:51And they just put in the store. But he says they're super fresh
- 9:53down here, like because they don't preservatives, so the
- 9:56stuff goes bad. So they're probably just making
- 9:58them a a clip. Yeah, that I think that's the
- 10:01biggest part is the preservatives and also the stuff
- 10:03that the pesticides and stuff they use on crops in the States
- 10:06and pretty rough, I think. But my my top three would be,
- 10:11the more I've thought about it, I think it might be the mule
- 10:13deer because I love that Taj. It wasn't really Cajun, but it
- 10:16was like Cajun sort of that that seasoning was in.
- 10:20It was so good. And we all like spicy.
- 10:22And it was. Really thought it was really
- 10:23thin, cut thin, Yeah. So they were like, I mean like
- 10:26like a chicken popcorn. Yeah, yeah, Thinner though.
- 10:28Yeah, really thin. So I'd go that and then I'd
- 10:30probably go that pasta, probably because I don't eat pasta
- 10:32anymore with my diet, but I'd just never eat it.
- 10:34So that was awesome, as you see. Like, wow, yeah.
- 10:37And then shoot, where's Yeah, the Carney was great too.
- 10:42The tacos was fantastic. That probably my three.
- 10:45But the the biggest thing is just how you feel.
- 10:48And another thing we learned that I found really interesting
- 10:50is how shit the Coke 0 is here. That is pretty.
- 10:55Little bad. It's terrible.
- 10:57It'd be like the flattest of flat Coke Zero you ever.
- 11:00It is literally that I'm the sun.
- 11:01Yet you like it. That's cool.
- 11:03Maybe not three months, but like days.
- 11:05Totally flat tastes like absolute garbage.
- 11:07Flavor was terrible flavor. Come bring.
- 11:10Back the aspartame. I brush my teeth the first time
- 11:12I popped one, I come out and popped the popped the can, take
- 11:15a sip and I'm like, and my toothpaste was really great in
- 11:19this. There I go.
- 11:20Let me come back in like 10 minutes.
- 11:22I'm like, I can't wait for a good sip.
- 11:24Take another sip. It was just as terrible.
- 11:26I'm like, girl, if something's oh, I'm ruined, something's
- 11:29wrong. So bad, but then we had a.
- 11:30Monster, and it was US. Yeah, it tasted the same.
- 11:34Yeah. I was nervous.
- 11:35Like I popped it and I was like, yeah, yeah.
- 11:39Little sip like oh God it's normal thank God I do not want
- 11:43to nub this whole thing out. I really like a little kick
- 11:45right now. I.
- 11:46Know, I know, but we've all kind of had a challenge this trip on
- 11:53a side request that we've been working on.
- 11:55We have been trying to get a high frame rate coyote or
- 12:02peccary shot and now we've done it to where we're trying to film
- 12:06it from 2 angles. But the problem is we have yet
- 12:10to have a got Dang colored peccary come in within light we.
- 12:15Haven't had any man or. Yodi since we started trying to
- 12:17record because we sat at that time for Yodi's to see Yodi, we
- 12:20did. Crack a couple doves.
- 12:21So we just grazed the bottom up. Yeah, we did.
- 12:24I really wanted to hammer what it was quail yesterday.
- 12:27Yeah, well, that's the other problem.
- 12:28When we're sitting in two blinds, we can't all bowl like
- 12:30that. Yeah.
- 12:31I feel like I'm just. I want to shoot that quail.
- 12:32I don't know. You want to shoot that quail and
- 12:34I'm sitting in the other blind. You guys are we?
- 12:36Don't do to you. We.
- 12:39How do I know which one? I I actually.
- 12:42It's always going to be the one closest to the feeder, is the
- 12:44answer. I think today we should see if
- 12:46they'll send us with a radio, so if we have to, we can like.
- 12:49Oh, yeah. And I guess if there's nothing
- 12:50in, yeah, you're like, we could just, we could just.
- 12:52Yeah, that's actually a good bit, yeah.
- 12:54Paging Dr. Cutboy. Because we're basically the way
- 12:58we're setting up is you've got feeder in the middle and then
- 13:00we've got one blind that you traditionally hunt that's
- 13:02downwind or like sidewind. And then we're trying to set
- 13:04another one up caddy corner because we want the Super slow
- 13:07MO Cam to basically capture like.
- 13:09Enjoy the. Face or the ass of the animal so
- 13:12you can see the air going in and then coming.
- 13:14Oh, it'll be so cool. If we can make it happen.
- 13:16Yeah, it'll be so. Cool.
- 13:17We're running out of time is our last chance.
- 13:18I know. Last, we're.
- 13:19Playing tomorrow. I thought this javelina working
- 13:22hard to watch porn prolific. I'm sad about that.
- 13:26Javelina are badass freaking level.
- 13:29They're one of my favorite animals that just.
- 13:30They have so much personality and they live, especially when
- 13:34they live up in the mountains. You'd be surprised.
- 13:36Sometimes they live in Koosnier country, way up high.
- 13:38Aren't they like darker and heavier where they're dark,
- 13:41Where you are, it's here they're all like.
- 13:43Sandy, Oh, They're almost like black a lot of times.
- 13:45This is like they're like, dirty.
- 13:46They're like you're blonde hair. Like there's a blonde right
- 13:48here. Exactly.
- 13:49The locks, yeah. You know they're dirty though.
- 13:52Lady Little at NASCAR Brianna Brianna.
- 13:56I had like 4 to 5 women come by and go yo that is super hot
- 14:01when. You walk by Cindy Sidney Sweeney
- 14:03and you pull the hat off and kind of give him give her a.
- 14:06US free hash. It was all.
- 14:09Fluffy, but and I had the ridiculous glasses with the
- 14:11safety strap and I had a NASCAR cut off so when I walked by I
- 14:15did do a little. You did do a little.
- 14:17Bit I Peacock a little, but all right, you know, but her mom
- 14:20right there, you know you got. To land, you're going to land at
- 14:23both. You're never going to land at
- 14:25both. Yeah, true.
- 14:25I'd. Have been around if you're.
- 14:26Alley Oh yeah, yeah. Any Congress who's toes 60 plus?
- 14:35No, but this has been this has been good.
- 14:39Brandon, do you have any more hunts left this year or just
- 14:41some local? You said you have a little bit
- 14:42of season locally. Yeah, I'll probably just sit
- 14:45whitetail at my house. So it's been nice because Josh
- 14:49was kind enough to to allow me to put some Gray light blinds up
- 14:52at my place. And so it's so much easier so I
- 14:55can just get up in the morning before everybody's awake, go sit
- 14:57in the blinds in a nice freaking insulated blind, and then turn
- 15:02the little space heater on. Watch for deer to come out.
- 15:04That's fine. I've got $1.00 that buck that I
- 15:05tried to shoot where I shot him in the neck because he matrixed
- 15:08me. He's he showed back up on
- 15:11camera. I know I want that guy.
- 15:13How long it had it been since you hit him to when you saw him
- 15:17again on camera? Two weeks.
- 15:19So you were getting worried? Yep.
- 15:21Yeah. Wow.
- 15:22I bet that was a relief. But I think that I'm on the
- 15:24fringe of his travel corridor. Like I don't think he lives near
- 15:27us. I think that he's circling,
- 15:29looking for Doze. And I think that he lives
- 15:31further away. So like I think if I can't make
- 15:33it happen in probably the next couple weeks when the Rep is
- 15:35full on off because she's dying down now I've got tons more
- 15:38dosha on back up on so. That's good.
- 15:41That's good. And then you go into Texas right
- 15:43after this, right? Yeah, From here I fly into Texas
- 15:46and do a whitetail hunt, and then I fly back to Nash, and
- 15:50then I fly back to Spokane. And then after Christmas I drive
- 15:53to Missouri, hunt a whitetail in Missouri, then Oklahoma, and
- 15:57then the ATA show back to Nashville.
- 15:59You're doing whitetail in Oklahoma and in Missouri,
- 16:04Missouri. And in Texas?
- 16:06It's good, good. I feel like you haunted a lot.
- 16:09More and a lot. Of stuff the last couple two
- 16:12years, which is cool. Way more than I ever.
- 16:14Had that's awesome. Yeah, yeah, I feel I feel the
- 16:16same way. I've haunted so much more
- 16:17recently and it's been fun, you know, just and doing different
- 16:21stuff like in in you know, you've probably haunted a whole
- 16:23bunch of new states. I'm just saying I've never
- 16:25haunted in Hawaii or Mexico or, you know, Oklahoma, wherever was
- 16:29showing up and and I think that's really cool because the
- 16:32more types of hunting you can do and the more you can experience
- 16:36whether or not it's whatever type of hunting, it's still a
- 16:39different experience. You're learning more, having a
- 16:42great time. Do you have anything coming up
- 16:44in December? Because I know January is a big
- 16:46month for you to be in Arizona. Just local hunting.
- 16:50I mean, I don't know how much I'll hunt.
- 16:51It's it's what our local hunting is, is bottom barrel, it's
- 16:55whatever. But I might do some hunting,
- 16:58maybe glass hit. I have either sex tag so I
- 17:01would. I would definitely shoot a no or
- 17:02a buck if I got opportunity. Do they do homeless permits yet?
- 17:05No, not yet. Yeah, surprisingly.
- 17:08Big, great revenue share, yeah. That would be So what?
- 17:12Josh had a crazy question yesterday.
- 17:16I don't know how that was not. That's probably not a good ask
- 17:19later. It was pretty wild, except the.
- 17:21Members only Patreon writing a guy just pause it would do this.
- 17:25I love. Oh I I skipped one.
- 17:28I'm I'm going back to Texas after ETA show.
- 17:31OK. So you're like through January
- 17:33and. Yeah.
- 17:33And then we all are doing that. Oh, in February?
- 17:36It should end of February that'll be like my last month
- 17:39till I think, you know, Brianna will want to do some turkeys in
- 17:43like, you know, May and then I think I'm new Hawaii maybe July
- 17:48again. But yeah, it's just fun doing
- 17:50different shit and trying different stuff and that we're
- 17:53all going to that Texas on as well.
- 17:55Yeah. So that was that was yeah.
- 17:57And then, well, I know I'm just saying we're all going, which is
- 18:00cool. And then we got Scotty and Josh,
- 18:03the other Josh, and I think that's it.
- 18:04But what a solid group, huh, guys?
- 18:07Camp. Breaking Scotty.
- 18:10I love it. He's just going to be ripped.
- 18:11I'm going to just keep my mouth shut.
- 18:13So no no, no BS question. Which obviously this goes
- 18:15without saying, we're all getting smashed.
- 18:17What Bomar doesn't drink. I don't know.
- 18:19Maybe he will. I don't know.
- 18:20Does he not? I assume he does body is the
- 18:23temple kind of thing. I've never seen him with the
- 18:25drink in his hand. I don't, I don't know.
- 18:28I literally everyone else going is the.
- 18:30Answer is yes going wrong and then he'll say I mean it's
- 18:34hosted. By Scotty I don't think Scotty
- 18:36Scotty might be the worst of all.
- 18:39Even if, even if Josh didn't drink, I never feel like you
- 18:41have to drink to like, have fun. I know no one, none of us feel
- 18:44like that way. But Josh has the personality
- 18:46where he'll be just as goofy and fun regardless.
- 18:49Even if like everyone else's time went on, he's drinking
- 18:51lemonade. Like you'll still be cool, you
- 18:53know, And I can't wait. That sounds so much fun.
- 18:56And then today we did a lot of shooting bows just for fun,
- 18:59which is my. I love it.
- 19:00We should have done that every day.
- 19:01I'm like, we just did. That was so much fun.
- 19:04But we traded each person, shot each other's bow.
- 19:07And I thought, I always think that's fun because I think it's
- 19:11possible every time you shoot something different, you might
- 19:14feel something. You go, hmm, maybe I need to
- 19:16implement that more into that. And do you have that because you
- 19:21shoot so many different bows each year?
- 19:23Do you have a transfer? Stuff.
- 19:25Kind of it's honestly, I don't shoot any of them enough to get
- 19:29really comfortable with them. That's the hard part.
- 19:31You don't get a reps behind them.
- 19:33But I also don't feel like I can give good feedback or good
- 19:36information to people if I don't play with a bunch of them.
- 19:38So I end up going through Rd. about, about, about.
- 19:41Don't worry, I'll keep the Title 34 and keep shooting it tell
- 19:45you. But but yeah, it's it's it's a
- 19:47challenge. And like, I can honestly say I
- 19:50don't shoot any of them long enough to pick up much.
- 19:52Yeah, if I was shooting them four months straight be
- 19:55different. And they're all very similar.
- 19:58Like I really are like they feel different, but the result, end
- 20:01result is very similar. The end feel.
- 20:04On most of them are very similar and the end velocity on most of
- 20:08them are similar. Like there's not that much a
- 20:10difference. I mean, we make this big ordeal
- 20:12and so much of the of the content is out there like
- 20:15discussing and portraying the differences between these
- 20:17things, but they are so damn similar that they're all good.
- 20:22I. Think the level is just the bar
- 20:24is very, very high, yeah. You're sure where you're sort
- 20:27of. Nitpicking, you know, it's like,
- 20:30it's like anything you go look at a mountain bike 20 years ago
- 20:33there was a big difference between like a specialized and
- 20:36Iron Horse. But nowadays as you move along,
- 20:38it's like Mandy, you can't go wrong.
- 20:40All these bikes are amazing. It's the same.
- 20:42I think just that's life. Everything is just at such a
- 20:45high level and it'd be crazy if we could Fast forward 10 years
- 20:48and see like no year to year gap.
- 20:51Just what is stuff in 10 years crazy.
- 20:54But what about you? Do you have that because you you
- 20:55bounce bows a fair amount too. Do you try to like match each
- 20:59setup or is each one just like you?
- 21:01Grab the bow, no bars, no nothing, Shoot it and kind of go
- 21:04from like that. Rolls I I'm not fast enough to
- 21:06like just fully RIP through a setup.
- 21:09I'm envious of the guys at the shop because they can get
- 21:11everything set up and be so close with every little thing
- 21:14really fast. And I feel like I just take a
- 21:16lot of time for each step. Yeah.
- 21:18So like I was going to bring my title down here if I couldn't
- 21:21get the arc set up, but I was able to get the arc set up, but
- 21:23it took like days. And then you saw me.
- 21:25I was shooting my bottom pin and I was like why is this 6 inches
- 21:28high left? And I remembered I'd only dialed
- 21:30in my 2 pins and I was going to just Rove with my 30 pin.
- 21:34So you know, my stuff wasn't all the way dialed in.
- 21:37What I noticed that was interesting in shooting your
- 21:38boat is when I pick it up, I'm like the weight on this is
- 21:41horrible. It's all wrong.
- 21:42It doesn't feel good like when you just hold it in your hand.
- 21:45But then as soon as I got to draw, I felt more steady with
- 21:48the proven than I did with my bow.
- 21:50And I've got mine set up like I want it.
- 21:52But like when I just was holding the pin, I was like, boat, this
- 21:55is great. And then your peep is so low to
- 21:59your D loop compared to mine. Like just the way you anchor
- 22:02face size, whatever it is, I'm having to come way up here.
- 22:05I'm floating. Your D loop is super tiny.
- 22:08Yeah. Muy piquito.
- 22:09Yeah, yeah, I don't know. And then the other thing was
- 22:12crazy. When I pick your ball up, which
- 22:13is the same exact one, your peep is huge.
- 22:15I have light around the housing like crazy.
- 22:18I literally have like as much light around the housing as
- 22:20there is inside it. It's like a double doughnut
- 22:23thing I got going on. Well, that's all facial
- 22:26structure, right? Size of your nose, where your
- 22:27eyes are positioned, how far apart your eyes are, how far
- 22:30back they are in your head as opposed to forward.
- 22:31Which is why I always need everybody's that I pick up.
- 22:35Feels like the peeps way too small for me for how I anchor.
- 22:38But I also tend to keep my head upright and barely touch my tip
- 22:41of my nose, the strand. So you're afraid so.
- 22:44And I think my nose is probably a little longer and my eyes are
- 22:47a little farther back in relation to my nose.
- 22:49Like if looking at the structure, your face, your eyes
- 22:51are a little more together, a little more forward in your nose
- 22:53isn't very long. I feel like you're in SO.
- 22:55I'm not. And the distance, the distance
- 22:57between them is really relevant too.
- 22:59Like where your eyes are in relation to where your nose is
- 23:01changes this angle so much. It doesn't take that much
- 23:04movement positionally different. Like lift your head up to where
- 23:08put a big bone marrow nose button on or versus not and
- 23:11watch how much bigger you peep has to be because it's always
- 23:13longer away from. That makes a big difference.
- 23:15Yeah. But it's just like, I think what
- 23:17you learn is also how important it is to get your setup truly
- 23:21dialed in for you. Because we're noticing the
- 23:24variance that like if you just looked at everything, it looks
- 23:26like it's pretty close, but when you actually shoot it, it just
- 23:28feels like a. Nightmare.
- 23:29Way different feel on all. Of them, I literally was
- 23:31shooting your bow a foot to the right, like I grouped arrows
- 23:34like that, but it was a foot to the right and it's the same bow.
- 23:37Yeah. It's just the way everything.
- 23:39I don't. Yeah, it's goofy.
- 23:40It is wild, but. Didn't have the.
- 23:41Goofy grip, that's why. You don't like the UV grip?
- 23:44No, it's too short. The first thing I said when I
- 23:47picked up Brandon's bows, I never felt the arc and I just
- 23:49felled it. I got a pretty good feel for
- 23:51bows. And first thing I thought was I
- 23:53don't like the grip because it's too, if it was an inch longer, I
- 23:58think it would be fine. But it just like ends so
- 24:01abruptly. I'm like, I feel like my hands
- 24:02like hanging off this, you know, it's actually like a little tiny
- 24:05pistol for your wear. Yeah.
- 24:07And and I don't love it, but I like your straight to the Rise
- 24:10Earth grip tape. And then I love the proving grip
- 24:12because it's very thin and long so you can just get such a good
- 24:16consistent hold. But I'm probably the most picky
- 24:19on anything. For me is grip always.
- 24:22And grip is too way overlooked by a lot of folks.
- 24:25I agree with you 100%. Yeah, the grip is massively
- 24:28important, which is why I pointed out when I don't like
- 24:30it, because that's fine. That's fine.
- 24:32I I have a concession. It's arguing.
- 24:33I bought the side plates from the shop Slash I just took them
- 24:36and then I got home and they refer a left-handed bow, not a
- 24:41righty. And I'll sing Son of a bitch.
- 24:42But you get you. Told you I can't keep a running
- 24:46tower advance by himself. I go by everything discount code
- 24:49be Mac 10% off podemarker dot. Comtbdbadlandsgear.com 20%.
- 24:56It's big one eBay percent a bigot.
- 24:58Those backpacks are like 500 bucks, 20%'s a lot.
- 25:01It's a hundo baby. Yeah, it's a lot.
- 25:03It's not a mathematician, but yeah, there's checks out.
- 25:05Holy shit, you're a linguist? You said mathematician.
- 25:08Nothing. I am a cheat bastard, you are.
- 25:10I love, I love you will say all my shekels and sales.
- 25:13So I love it. Oh I love it.
- 25:15I hate spending them up. Dude it used to be so bad.
- 25:17I would like get anxiety and start sweating if I bought like
- 25:20something like 15 bucks. Really 50?
- 25:23Yup, truly maybe even less. Wow, yeah, it's taking me a
- 25:27long. Time.
- 25:27I wish my wife was more like that.
- 25:29She'd. Sweat when she'd spend 15 Yeah,
- 25:31yeah, yeah, my. Poems would be like just but but
- 25:36yeah, shooting the Moses that was super fun.
- 25:39It's really like I think it's so interesting too that are all of
- 25:42our arrow setups are so similar. It seems like people the last
- 25:46maybe I don't know, maybe like from like 20/20/2023 people are
- 25:51so into arrows. So it was what everything was
- 25:53about online. It seemed like arrows, arrows,
- 25:56arrows and people were shooting different setups, different
- 25:59inserts, different outs or different heads, different
- 26:02knocks, like really going and it seems like almost it's stripped
- 26:05back over time to like you can just shoot the stock HLR and
- 26:08it's just fine. You know, like it seems like
- 26:11it's moved back sort of. What do you why do you guys
- 26:14think that is where you've seen sort of emphasis on arrows?
- 26:18Well, I think the, I think the reality to it is if you look at
- 26:23what they've come out with in the last four or five years,
- 26:25when you talk about timeline, they're all coming out with the
- 26:28same thing. Well, there's a lot of a lot of
- 26:30scuttlebutt over what the right thing to use is, what it should
- 26:32weighs, diameter, all that stuff.
- 26:35But the noise now has gotten really quiet because there may
- 26:38not be a 420 grain 5mm arrow with about 15% of our center.
- 26:43Everyone does it. And now all of a sudden they're
- 26:45just not talking about it as much because that's the outcome
- 26:48of what you would come up with. If you're starting to do the
- 26:50math and starting to figure out how do I make this projectile,
- 26:53check this box, this box, this box, and this box.
- 26:56That's what you need. The 5mm arrow at least has some
- 27:00of your thread inside the arrow, so it's going to be harder to
- 27:02bend. It's as small as diameters you
- 27:04can get and still have some of the thread inside of the arrow.
- 27:08It's a great kind of trading product.
- 27:10It's more durable typically than a smaller diameter because the
- 27:13connection of an insert on a smaller diameter is more likely
- 27:16to fail. It's just it's elongated as a
- 27:18weak point. It's about as small as you can
- 27:21get and be durable. And it's in the 8 to 8 1/2 GPI
- 27:24where we try on the 300 spine arrow and we try to build that
- 27:27out to end up at 400 to 4:50 depending on your config.
- 27:32That's what's got away now. Everybody makes it.
- 27:34Before, not everybody made it. And I think that's where the
- 27:39arguments were coming from. It was the other brands that
- 27:42didn't make this that we're trying to argue why you needed
- 27:45that instead. Now they all make it and all of
- 27:48a sudden everybody shut up. I mean mostly, but.
- 27:51Also go ahead. But also, well, the Ashby study
- 27:55came out and and it was released, but then there was a
- 27:58resurgence driven by Ranch to to bring a 650 grain.
- 28:03And then I think there was people that had had problems
- 28:06because more than likely they either didn't shoot in the right
- 28:08place or their stuff wasn't tuned properly and they weren't
- 28:11getting pass throughs and they weren't finding deer.
- 28:14And they perceived that the solution to that problem was to
- 28:16go heavier and go with fixed blade broadhead.
- 28:19And so that's what that's what some of the push was.
- 28:22Huge, huge part of it. But I'm saying probably,
- 28:24probably the biggest. I mean, that was obviously a
- 28:26huge wave, but I'm saying that wave I feel like you don't hear
- 28:30about. It, but I think that it's the,
- 28:31it's that evolution of what, of what occurs is people shoot that
- 28:35and then they start backing back down.
- 28:36That's what you did exactly. Exactly.
- 28:38And realizing that like, oh, you don't need that.
- 28:40It's. Like that thing you just tried?
- 28:41Lunch from college. Yeah, exactly.
- 28:44Exactly. It was more than once.
- 28:46What was the? Yeah, well, you had to do twice
- 28:49just to make sure you didn't like.
- 28:51I wanted to be so. Sure, I.
- 28:52Had to win the second time. But what's the heaviest arrow
- 28:56that you got up to and actually haunted with not just playing
- 28:58around like? 615 was what I haunted, but I I
- 29:01shot a axis at 1:10 with that arrow and I shot my elk at 85
- 29:06with that arrow. So did you.
- 29:09Like. Would you potentially go back to
- 29:11a weight like that? I mean, I don't like.
- 29:13It no, I just don't find it necessary now.
- 29:15Yeah. Like I did like the way that the
- 29:17bow felt when you're shooting it because there's like the the
- 29:20feedback feel of it. I like that feeling.
- 29:22But the new, like the bows, even since it's been, I don't know,
- 29:26it's been probably four or five years, like the Ark is so dead
- 29:29that I still just kind of, it feels kind of similar to me now.
- 29:32I got you, yeah. But no, I just don't find it
- 29:35necessary think that the broad head is 95% of the factor of
- 29:40penetration. I think the weight is very very
- 29:43low in the. List well, and that's that's
- 29:45something that even the head the arrow guy agrees with.
- 29:48He thinks it's 95% the broad head.
- 29:51So it's funny when you when you acknowledge that and as do most
- 29:54people are shooting 420 green arrows.
- 29:56Most people with any logic to what they're doing are very
- 30:00cognizant that the broad heads that I'm picking has the
- 30:02majority to do with Patrick. If you want to penetrate, you
- 30:06simply need to do a lead cup tube over anything because it
- 30:10will out penetrate anything. And I don't think anybody even
- 30:12argue that. If you're worried about that, if
- 30:14you're worried about the big hole in something, you should
- 30:16put a bee sprotted on the front of it and just cut a whacking
- 30:20hole in it. And hopefully you still go
- 30:22through, which as long as your equipment is tuned, is really
- 30:26what matters, that that arrow is not doing this.
- 30:28When it hits the animal, the arrows wobble and you don't have
- 30:32the energy behind you. As soon as it hits, the ascent
- 30:34is going to move and there goes all your energy.
- 30:36What? So if somebody's shooting at
- 30:38home and they're seeing like when you say wobble, I know
- 30:42sometimes when I'll shoot, like you'll see it kind of torpedo
- 30:45like that spin that's out of tune.
- 30:48That's out of tune or you torque to the bow.
- 30:49Really funny when you shot it or you're fletching hit something
- 30:52as it left. So if you get somebody with a
- 30:54abic like let's see, they're, they're pulling like an inch and
- 30:56a half tear. What's the arrow doing?
- 31:00Is it coming out and literally just kind of you're seeing it
- 31:03like kick back and forth as it's snaking toward the target?
- 31:07Like directly out of the bow. What's it?
- 31:08Doing well, I'm saying like if you're taking a 20 yard shot, it
- 31:10probably isn't going to have time to stabilize.
- 31:12So what's that actually physically look like?
- 31:14I'm just, I'm curious for people that are shooting their bows,
- 31:16are they, is there something that they can actually be
- 31:18looking for where they're like, oh, I'm not getting prey hair?
- 31:21There's a there's a great easy way to see it.
- 31:24A super simple throw a light, a knock on hair.
- 31:26And then if. You'll watch that thing go like.
- 31:28Woo. And then if it's not just like a
- 31:29laser beam coming out correct, then you're not tuned?
- 31:32Then it's not tuned. I also think if you have a
- 31:34really square good target, not like a bag or something but a
- 31:37solid foam target, you should be able to see after a while.
- 31:40Like OK, all my heroes travels right ways.
- 31:43But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's launching that
- 31:45direction, because it's going back and forth.
- 31:47You just know something's going on, but that's what that's what
- 31:49paper tuning is for initially, right is to see what your arrow
- 31:52is doing right as it leaves the bow.
- 31:54So you have a better idea if your orientation of your arrow
- 31:56rest or your string cable orientations or your wheel
- 31:59orientations are square so that projectiles leaving the bow
- 32:02square. So the energy that that prove
- 32:04that bow produces can accurately transfer the energy into the
- 32:07arrow and you have to have adequate spine of the arrow that
- 32:10it can absorb the energy. If you're running too weak of an
- 32:12arrow or way too much tip weight, things like that.
- 32:14The energy that you're creating can't get into the arrow because
- 32:18it can only bend so far before the energy has to get
- 32:20distributed somewhere else. That's you can hear like really
- 32:24loud bell. A lot of times that's what's
- 32:26going on. So it's not transferring the
- 32:27energy into the arrow, so it's depleting through the limbs.
- 32:31So your shot and my shot, we basically the arrow passed all
- 32:36the way through the animal and then our arrows were like 2 feet
- 32:39to 10 feet behind the animal. But you were using a beast 2.0
- 32:43yeah, 2 inch. And I was using the 2.3 and the
- 32:46results were very similar. We left all the energy in the
- 32:49animal like we maximize that sucker because if we, if we
- 32:54would, if I would have gone any wider with the cut, which they
- 32:56don't make that, but if I would have gone wider in theory, I
- 32:58wouldn't have got a full pass through.
- 33:00And then probably the same with you, I mean, because we've all
- 33:05have. You added you had any more level
- 33:07of resistance to it, you probably wouldn't have got full.
- 33:09Yeah, probably, But you your arrow sailed through.
- 33:13Yeah. And I'll shoot in a hybrid with
- 33:15a lead cut which should penetrate better, which is the
- 33:18idea of it. What's the total cut?
- 33:19When those blades fold back, what do you remember?
- 33:22Well they have an inch and a half and they have a 2 and I
- 33:23honestly don't remember which one I grabbed.
- 33:26I just grab some out of the shop and scream on my boat.
- 33:28So but that's a 2 inch with a lead cut.
- 33:30So it's still, you know, so there's a 2 inch cut this way
- 33:33and a lead cut this way. So you're 2 separate ones.
- 33:35That's kind of cool. But when you do that, you don't
- 33:38get the same slap cut. So that's what you're getting on
- 33:41your holes that look bigger than your plate span.
- 33:44That's when it slaps. It's like it's pushing the skin
- 33:47and cutting it at the same time, so it ends up with a much bigger
- 33:49hole. So my mine looked exactly like
- 33:52the Bride, like it wasn't an expansion of it, which is a
- 33:57little concerning honestly, because it's like if you can get
- 34:00a 3 or 4 inch swath and something, don't you want that?
- 34:03Especially when you're going all the way through and beyond.
- 34:06And if you took that same broad head and had a lead cut on it,
- 34:09you'd probably get way better penetration.
- 34:11But I think you're still going to get a similar cut, but I
- 34:13think it's not going to be quite as big because the skin can't
- 34:16stretch, right? So part of that is it's
- 34:18stretching before it cuts. So that tips pushing on the skin
- 34:22and then the blades deploy and then it all goes.
- 34:24Yeah. Whereas if it was cutting
- 34:26through it, the skin doesn't stretch out before the deploying
- 34:29blades hit. Yeah, yeah, this interesting now
- 34:33I mean I always felt rage were like that too.
- 34:36You'd see anything shot with a rage.
- 34:38It just had a massive holes entrance and exit and Beast do
- 34:42that too. It's like it and they look
- 34:44either one. Those are the 2 heads that when
- 34:46I think of entrance and exits that look like you hit something
- 34:51with a spear or an axe. It's like rage and beast is what
- 34:55I've always seen in the pictures and then the mega meets 2 huge
- 34:59holes but they look different. Speed did the same too.
- 35:01Yeah, when I shot like I think will.
- 35:04Do the same thing 2. 222 Should I haven't shot an animal?
- 35:07Ever. I've seen it do that and I've
- 35:09seen it not do. That well, but I've seen I've
- 35:11seen like that's the thing about this this interesting.
- 35:14I've seen the rages shit the bed and I've seen rages make massive
- 35:19holes and stuff. And the reason that I like
- 35:21shooting the beast is because I feel like the ability for the
- 35:24blades to to constrict back and then re expand.
- 35:28It's really smart. You just have, I think that it's
- 35:30a really great balance between penetration and cut diameter
- 35:34because if everything goes great, you get big cut diameter,
- 35:36you get 2 big holes. But if for whatever reason I
- 35:39center punch a rib on the on side and the off side, maybe I
- 35:42don't get a full pass through. But maybe those blades have been
- 35:44able to collapse down a little bit more to.
- 35:45Just get the arrow out the other.
- 35:47Side a little bit wherever. Well, maybe the T2 is not going
- 35:49to do all that. Yeah, I know it is interesting.
- 35:52I mean, it's fun stuff. Brianna actually did a test on
- 35:54her channel where she did it with a test and a bunch of brown
- 35:56ends, but on a low pounded short draw bow.
- 35:58So you don't see those too often.
- 36:01It was it was actually really informative even just to film
- 36:03the test and learn the stuff. But I'm a bit curious, Brandon,
- 36:08how you how you felt getting dissed publicly by the fairy
- 36:14himself? I was, I wasn't going to say it
- 36:16when you started talking about that.
- 36:18I was like, oh shit, it comes to another fight.
- 36:20How did you feel about getting the diss up your way?
- 36:22Are you going to respond? Are you going to?
- 36:23Record, I need to go, I need to go look at it again and and
- 36:26decide what it was. And I I think that like so if
- 36:30you are unwilling to continue to test and then take in new data
- 36:35and change your mind when the results that you're getting like
- 36:40clearly show that this is not superior because that's the
- 36:44truth. You can shoot a heavy air, you
- 36:46can shoot a ranch ferry setup, you can shoot an Ashby setup and
- 36:51it can be effective, but I think it tilts the teeter totter too
- 36:56much this way. I think that the more effective
- 36:59hunting tool because trajectory is such a massive deal.
- 37:02I agree. Like it's such a huge deal.
- 37:04The difference between something at 20 and 25 yards, like when
- 37:09you're whitetail hunting, if something comes in or what we're
- 37:11doing here, which is very simple, but the trajectory
- 37:14really matters and, and a heavy arrow, the reality is the
- 37:18trajectory, the trajectory, the impact is going to be much
- 37:21broader. And so I think that the bet
- 37:23there's just a better balance. You just don't need it because
- 37:25the other thing is you're not getting through the parts that
- 37:28they say you're going to get through.
- 37:29That's my other opinion. I don't think you reliably shoot
- 37:32something right in the knuckle and get through it with a 650
- 37:36green arrow. And so I started just thinking
- 37:38about that. I was like, all right, you have
- 37:39the vital V, you have the lungs, you have the guts and that's a
- 37:43massive target. And if I hit any of that, the
- 37:47bigger the broad head is, the better that's going to be,
- 37:50especially if I hit the guts. I don't want to do that.
- 37:53But if I hit it in the guts with a big ass broad head, it's going
- 37:56to die faster than me hitting it small.
- 37:58So I'm just going to air on hitting stuff back here and not
- 38:02hitting it up here. And so when ranch wants to be
- 38:05like the Boo Boo, he's, you know, like he's decided this is
- 38:09the thing that I believe and and he wants and you know him, I
- 38:12mean, he's willing to get out and just talk shit.
- 38:14And that's part of what makes him.
- 38:18But I don't think it's, I don't think it's the most, I don't
- 38:22think it's the best thing. I just don't, I don't think it's
- 38:25the best thing. But dude, I was there, man.
- 38:27I like when you look at math and all that stuff, more momentum,
- 38:31more mass to the arrow, like it's going to penetrate more.
- 38:35But I don't think that ultimately that ultimately you
- 38:38need a bunch of the weight to get penetration if you just swap
- 38:40broad ads. That's what I decided.
- 38:43That's interesting. I mean, I, I definitely agree
- 38:45with the trajectory stance because if you're shooting
- 38:50something that's casting just this huge arc and you're, you're
- 38:55hunting stuff with overhead branches or you're in timber or
- 39:00things like that, you got to watch a lot more stuff than if
- 39:04you know, you're pretty much line of sight and obviously
- 39:07going to be arcing at further distances.
- 39:09But if you can reduce that cast, I think that gives you so many
- 39:13more options when hunting. Because what happens if an elk
- 39:17walks through a window for me and he's 65 yards and I'm
- 39:20shooting 650 grains? Well, I might have to kneel to
- 39:26to miss some ranch that's up here, which is fine.
- 39:29But what happens if I'm standing behind a Bush for cover and now
- 39:31when I kneel, I'm too short to shoot over it?
- 39:34But if I had my 420 grains set up, I'm shooting so much flatter
- 39:39that I could shoot standing and shoot under the branch.
- 39:42I think that stuff, it sounds minimal, but when you need it,
- 39:47it's key. Moments make or break moments.
- 39:50The other thing is speed to target and this is where this is
- 39:53where he this is where he's like sent me a couple of charts as
- 39:56far as speed to target and I need to dig back into him.
- 39:58But if like Paige. The deer that she shot where
- 40:03that deer just ducks hard. If she was shooting an arrow
- 40:06that was 40 feet per second slower because she wanted to be
- 40:09with a 650 grain setup, she would have just the assumption
- 40:13is the deer starts moving at the exact same time.
- 40:15That's what you have to assume. And here's the bow and it's and
- 40:18it sees or hears an arrow coming and it starts to duck.
- 40:21So if the arrow is going slower and then people would say no,
- 40:24no, your bow's quieter with a heavy arrow.
- 40:27So maybe it doesn't duck as hard and maybe it's maybe the impact
- 40:30is actually going to be the same with the slower error because
- 40:33it's not reacting as much. But I don't think that's the
- 40:35case. I think that like especially for
- 40:37something that's cagey like whitetail, I think a faster
- 40:40arrow is important because I think as they start to duck down
- 40:44so fast felt like you can just fucking spy them or whatever.
- 40:48Like I think that crazy. It's important.
- 40:51Crazy fast. They react and and I, you know,
- 40:53I've heard people say that the amount faster that your arrow
- 40:58gets there is only like a tiny little fraction of time.
- 41:03And I go, yeah, but why don't you go and sit there on the
- 41:06computer frame by frame and see how much just one frame like
- 41:10makes a difference to 1 frame? Yeah, anytime you've actually
- 41:13sat there one something that can see or moving forward, you want
- 41:16to see it enter frame one. The thing that's incredible
- 41:18about it more than anything to me, and that's gets very
- 41:21overlooked, that animal doesn't actually start to duck until
- 41:23that arrow is 2/3. 2/3 almost, only about 2/3.
- 41:26Yeah. So all that drop that you're
- 41:28seeing, that 6 inches of drop, 8 inches of drop is, well, that
- 41:32arrow is covering about 8 yards or 10 yards, Is it?
- 41:36So if that arrow covers two extra yards.
- 41:40That's a huge difference. That's 20% less a drop.
- 41:42That's a lot. It's a lot.
- 41:44It is a lot, a lot. And it's it'd be nice to do the
- 41:47math on it and calculate sound and time and travel and
- 41:50movements. When you actually start seeing a
- 41:51movie, you can see how much they're moving per second and
- 41:55micro micro that down because I mean, there's you can, you can
- 41:58show up two different arrows to elaborate or get the exact
- 42:01distance per second of travel. So you can compare it and say,
- 42:05OK, well, here's this, here's that.
- 42:08And it's probably more than a foot of animal movement
- 42:11difference. It's 100% that 40.
- 42:14Is the worst? Absolutely and and again I think
- 42:16the best. Way to see it is cameras, you're
- 42:19looking at my frame and and people can look at the number
- 42:21and go oh, that's so negligible, that's nothing.
- 42:24But when you see on a frame, one piddly frame and the deer moves
- 42:28down like a whole nother inch, Yeah.
- 42:31What if you're 5 frames late? Just five go look at the
- 42:35movement 5 frames and significant you know so I and
- 42:40you could hear it when you're practicing with a buddy like if
- 42:42you guys happen to crack a shot at the same.
- 42:43Time you hear? Yours don't hit the exact same,
- 42:47and your bows are probably pretty Dang close in speed.
- 42:50So now if me and Brianna shoot an arrow at the exact same time,
- 42:53my arrow's getting win in that race way faster.
- 42:57And theoretically what? I don't know what speed she's
- 42:59shooting, but if I got my arrow heavy enough, it would be down
- 43:02closer to her speed and I can hear it audibly that my arrow is
- 43:07getting to the target way faster.
- 43:10So I I've never got with the argument that it's a negligible
- 43:14like, oh, the time doesn't make a difference.
- 43:16No. Well, if it's a crazy, it's it's
- 43:20ridiculously. Important.
- 43:21Yeah. And it's the argument you would
- 43:23make if you want to be right. Yeah, not you want the the right
- 43:26answer or the right outcome, but if you just want to be right,
- 43:28yeah, because I just don't saying the amount of.
- 43:30Time difference doesn't matter. Is bullshit.
- 43:33I think it's the most important thing Josh and I have talked.
- 43:35About this, I don't even know how many times we've talked
- 43:37about it. A lot.
- 43:38When people mess with miss a animal with a bow or hit him
- 43:41poorly, almost always it's because of animal movement.
- 43:46Yep, it's not because of a bad shot.
- 43:48That does happen too, obviously. But so often if a guy freaking
- 43:52shoulders a deer or something and you go watch tape frame by
- 43:55frame, you go actually, you know what, you pinwheel them.
- 43:57He just ducked and turned right into it.
- 44:00Happens all the time. Yep.
- 44:01So every, every second you can cut is better in Bowser to what
- 44:06we talked about earlier, getting better.
- 44:08They're getting faster. So it's easier to run a 300 foot
- 44:10setup that is everyone's running 300 foot setup.
- 44:13It's pretty easy to do, you know?
- 44:14Yeah. And if you run the.
- 44:16Sicario or whatever you can run a freaking 340 setup or
- 44:19something, but in which is you know, yes, you may have a short
- 44:22brace and maybe if you sneeze it hits A5, it hits in the five
- 44:27ring, possibly because the short brace, but if you're able to
- 44:30repeat it and shoot 340 isn't that race.
- 44:34I'm. Pretty impressed with how it
- 44:36felt. It shoots.
- 44:37I don't believe how good the draw.
- 44:38Was, I'll be honest, I don't understand a drawing.
- 44:40It's all gas. When I yeah, I saw it's a, it's
- 44:43a, it's a great statistical anomaly.
- 44:45At 30 inches for sure, that's a great way to say it.
- 44:47It's a. Statistical anomaly at 30
- 44:49inches, Yeah. Yeah, it is.
- 44:50And obviously the short braces. I would assume the most
- 44:53important factor in them getting there because what is it A5 in a
- 44:57cap five and a quarter, five and a quarter, but it's. 15 feet per
- 45:01second faster, so it's bananas, but the cams better Cam is a
- 45:05faster Cam and then the brace height.
- 45:06Obviously you're cutting an inch off the brace.
- 45:09I couldn't believe I withdraw was for how fast it was.
- 45:11I really could. It was good.
- 45:12That's what I'm going to switch to when we go back, but
- 45:16fantastic, like the proven I. Obviously you you.
- 45:18Said how well the thing holds. I love the button and you have
- 45:20that shit stabilizer out front. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
- 45:24hey. Go get them boat disciples.com
- 45:28Pick up your archery games while you're there.
- 45:30Huge giveaway all month. Botech ascend package, Bushnell
- 45:34binos, Bushnell range Finder, batlands bino harness and a
- 45:37whole tricer set up. That is a big deal.
- 45:39I wasn't joking. The other.
- 45:40Day when you when you video and I was like, that's a lot.
- 45:42I want it every $10 five entries.
- 45:45For all of it, you know, what's it, what's their own, what's
- 45:48discount can you get on Batland stuff?
- 45:49For the 20%, yeah, team BD. Yeah, I'm running the Sacrifice
- 45:55LS backpack. These are my favorite pants of
- 45:58all time. These are the honor pants.
- 46:00They have knee pads that come in and out.
- 46:01I typically run them out unless I got to do some crawling.
- 46:04And then the quarter zip flex hoodie, I believe, is that shirt
- 46:08I was wearing. Yeah, that's a nice one for.
- 46:10Sure. And then the harness I've I've
- 46:11tried a couple. The X2 is the one you want,
- 46:14which is not the one I brought this strip, but the X2 is the
- 46:17one. Does the X2 have the?
- 46:19Range Finder pocket on the side, not underneath, more like a.
- 46:21Standard Marcy deal, but you also want the magnetic pouch.
- 46:26I was a chief bastard and had them send me, which is so funny,
- 46:28but I had I was because I'm cheap.
- 46:31I had them because I had them cheap and they were sending me
- 46:33free stuff. I got the one with the.
- 46:35Clip and I go, this is terrible. Send me the send me the get the
- 46:39magnetic bino pouch is what I'm saying.
- 46:41But but yeah, I don't know. I think all that shit's in.
- 46:45I, I do think since all of us started YouTube and we've done
- 46:49it a while now, it's been interesting.
- 46:51Just a finger on the pulse of the of what people are talking
- 46:54about. It seems like people.
- 46:57Debate and kind. Of bicker less about gear
- 47:00nowadays than like maybe a few years ago and maybe it's just I
- 47:03don't see stuff like that because we don't really I know I
- 47:05wonder if you're just not paying attention or if.
- 47:07They or if it is less, I'm not pretty sure.
- 47:08I don't know. Josh would be the one.
- 47:09I think it's less. Yeah, see, I, I think it's
- 47:12drastically less. I get less arguments, I get.
- 47:14Less comments I get less that are anti, that are negative,
- 47:17right? Yeah.
- 47:18I mean I get all kinds. Of ones that you're more.
- 47:19On that's nice, that's great. I don't care.
- 47:22But you're not you're not seeing you're seeing way less of the
- 47:24fighting. And I think well, and what was
- 47:27the fighting about originally that was usually it was a heavy.
- 47:30Air light arrow, Yes. That was the best thing when
- 47:32after when when I started making content.
- 47:34I remember that being a big yeah, which when I started doing
- 47:37my own contents part of this, we put it, which I think it's been
- 47:413 1/2 years. Yeah, but you were doing stuff
- 47:43with my. Own team for a long now for
- 47:45that. I could have sworn you were
- 47:46doing. Reviews of like the.
- 47:47Revolt like. We can go to your channel and
- 47:49click oldest and it'll come up and say like, well, that's,
- 47:52that's a skewed thing because. Dan actually started my channel
- 47:55for me because we made a video that he was sponsored by
- 47:59somebody that was another bow company and they threw a fit.
- 48:01So he just let's just make you a channel, put it on your channel.
- 48:05Yeah, sure, whatever. So I've had a channel longer
- 48:07than actually really big content, but no the it's I went
- 48:10back and looked and it's either it's like 3 1/2 years is it or 4
- 48:161/2 but I'm pretty sure it's 3 1/2 but.
- 48:20Yeah, I I think the less fighting, I think it comes down
- 48:22to a point we were talking about earlier.
- 48:23One, the arrow stuff dying off a bit and two, just gear all
- 48:26around getting better. Yeah, because what's there to
- 48:29argue about when? It's like, oh, you know.
- 48:30What? Like, yeah, I may be the biggest
- 48:33Hoyt guy ever, but I went and shot the Matthews and the bow
- 48:36tech and I was, I was very impressed by both.
- 48:39So like it's sort of gone to that rather than maybe five
- 48:42years ago there was more of a discrepancy and you'd shoot,
- 48:45wow, that is shit, especially you went back seven years, I
- 48:49think there was. All a lot more.
- 48:51Or even 10. Yeah, Oh my.
- 48:53God, yeah, but no for the last five for sure.
- 48:55Three or five. They've.
- 48:56Gotten really close together. There's like September, there's
- 48:59the occasion, actually. It's wait actually.
- 49:01There's the there's blindfold test was bad.
- 49:03Yeah, the the occasional there's an occasional outlier anymore,
- 49:07but in general they're all pretty damn close.
- 49:09I think the slowest, mind you, I'm just talking flagship bows
- 49:12of same specs. I think the slowest to the, if
- 49:15you take the sicario out of it to the fastest there was 10 feet
- 49:18total. So everybody had to take the
- 49:21sicario out of it. Because the.
- 49:23Sicario. Is a flux.
- 49:25Well, it's also little. I have an according grade.
- 49:27Yeah, hang on. I would look at the Mach 33 and
- 49:30say, OK, let's compare that. Yeah, my 33 is not any faster
- 49:32than anybody else's. Yeah.
- 49:34So what happened? So that is interesting because
- 49:36it is the new FDS scam. Yeah.
- 49:38That tank one and mind you, it's.
- 49:40Really tent like so the best speed tent ratings I got
- 49:44exempting that was like 341 this year I remember it was the
- 49:47fastest thing I got and that was like 351.
- 49:50Oh OK. So it's 10 feet faster, but
- 49:52every inch you shorten it is 14 feet slower, and the standard is
- 49:568, so you shorten it 2. Inches.
- 49:59It's now. Slower than a comparable Audi 8
- 50:02Which? Is why the?
- 50:04Mach 33. FDS isn't any faster than anyone
- 50:07else because that's a 2 inch shorter spectrum with a Cam.
- 50:10Oh wild. Yeah, so.
- 50:12It's it's. If you're 30 inches or 29 1/2
- 50:15inches and you want to be extreme, it's great, you'll get
- 50:18it. But don't turn around and buy a
- 50:20PSE Sicario instead of 27 inches.
- 50:22You're going to be very disappointed.
- 50:24So is that just means the tape? Does that just mean the Cam is
- 50:27super inefficient if it's dropping that much speed per
- 50:30inch? Because generally, and that's
- 50:32most most of the bows that we're testing anymore.
- 50:35Have modules not pivoting modules.
- 50:37They're actual click, click, click, click, right, just
- 50:39different this piece, that piece, this piece, that piece.
- 50:41What does that Matthews does that and those your main ones
- 50:44should compete against a prime all interchangeable module.
- 50:47Like the whole module comes in, the whole module comes out.
- 50:49That's way more efficient when you have a rotating module,
- 50:52which if Bowtech ever made this jump, their bows will go faster
- 50:55because you can make each individual draw like more
- 50:57efficient and you can design the draw force curve for
- 51:01specifically the size. So a good example, the the two
- 51:04bows that they're coming out with have the same Cam one it's
- 51:06going to be more efficient on one than it is going to be on
- 51:09the other because that Cam as you pivot the modules over in
- 51:12the draw peg to make the light changes will lose efficiency
- 51:16greater. They can design it for one size
- 51:18and then make it move out of the IE the sicario is designed
- 51:22efficiency wise for the longest drawing.
- 51:26So when that cam's on that boat and it's maxed out, it's
- 51:28ridiculously fast. But as you move it once again,
- 51:30pivoting module not interchangeable.
- 51:32Yeah, you're losing more. The average I'm seeing though is
- 51:3688 or nine. I've seen some that are 7, which
- 51:39is why I test them at 30 in the night for around test their 29.
- 51:42Yeah. It's like, all right, how much
- 51:43would you do is branch? Yeah.
- 51:45And now you can just do the math.
- 51:46And now you can do that. That's nice.
- 51:48It's a it's. A.
- 51:49It's anything that you. Would want to try to figure out
- 51:51how's this both going to perform for me after I make a video.
- 51:55You should be able to answer that question without having to
- 51:57actually check. I think that's a cool thing to
- 51:58integrate into the videos. That's really valuable for
- 52:01viewers and it's kind of fun. Well, I just want, I just want
- 52:03to make sure people are buying. Or getting something when
- 52:06they're buying it that they know what it's going to do, not
- 52:09assume what it's going to do and then get mad too much there when
- 52:13it does. Because that way piss you off if
- 52:14you bought a sicario. Because you're 27 and you're
- 52:16like, I'm going to shoot fast because I'm only a 27 draw.
- 52:20That would be that would be annoying very much.
- 52:24Well, well, guys, this. We have been.
