Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, the brilliant economist, best-selling author.
- 0:11Speaker 1: What?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Nobody told me that. Forget what I just said. Take two. Hey,
- 0:20Speaker 2: with us right now, the brilliant comedian, Jimmy Fallon, of course,
- 0:25Speaker 2: who is.
- 0:27Speaker 2: On WOR every night at 9 o'clock, 9 p.m. to midnight.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Jimmy Fela. You got to listen to him. It's a
- 0:34Speaker 2: great show. And then he does the best late night
- 0:36Speaker 2: show in television. That's Saturday nights at 10 o'clock on
- 0:41Speaker 2: the Fox News Channel. And hey, also, he's going to
- 0:44Speaker 2: be appearing. He's doing a great night of comedy. Kuchina
- 0:47Speaker 2: Kalandra in Fairfield, New Jersey, October 28th. But get the
- 0:52Speaker 2: tickets now because it can sell out fast.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Go to.
- 0:56Speaker 2: 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. Jimmy Fela, how you doing?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, man?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Definitely not a brilliant economist. So thanks for cleaning up
- 1:06Speaker 3: that intro.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, I was told you guys were going to switch
- 1:09Speaker 2: time periods at some point. I didn't know it was
- 1:11Speaker 2: this week.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yes, but I don't know that Steve Moore took my
- 1:16Speaker 3: route to prosperity. I invested most of my money in
- 1:19Speaker 3: blackjack and flash dancers. And, of course, the rest of
- 1:24Speaker 3: it I wasted.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Well, you never know about that Steve Moore. He may
- 1:27Speaker 2: have put some money in there, too. You never know.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It's too funny. Nothing like an investment strategy that pays
- 1:35Speaker 1: in singles. But anyway.
- 1:38Speaker 2: So, hey, explain this UN week. What is the purpose
- 1:41Speaker 2: of this? What the hell do they do with that UN?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Holy hell.
- 1:46Speaker 3: You know, it's so funny because I watched, you know, Millay,
- 1:51Speaker 3: you know, kind of read them their truth yesterday the
- 1:53Speaker 3: way Trump did. They basically just come here and shake
- 1:56Speaker 3: us down and shag high-priced call girls.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I mean, honestly.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I'm trying to dress it up, but I mean, as
- 2:03Speaker 3: a former cab driver myself, this is the Super Bowl
- 2:07Speaker 3: of cab driving because the only passengers you're picking up
- 2:11Speaker 3: are women you actually have a shot with, if the
- 2:13Speaker 3: money's right. You normally, as a cab driver, don't have
- 2:17Speaker 3: a shot with any woman who looks like the ones
- 2:19Speaker 3: during UN week.
- 2:21Speaker 1: But during UN week, you're both on the clock. So everybody,
- 2:25Speaker 1: a dollar and a dream, as the old lottery commercial goes.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And that's it.
- 2:30Speaker 2: If you're a cab driver, you can't get anywhere. It's
- 2:32Speaker 2: a traffic nightmare. It's the worst gridlock ever.
- 2:35Speaker 1: A nightmare. Most veteran cabbies actually don't work this week.
- 2:39Speaker 3: If you notice, a lot of younger guys who haven't
- 2:42Speaker 3: gotten that little baptism by fire, if you will, you
- 2:45Speaker 3: figure it out. Everybody works the UN week once. Nobody
- 2:48Speaker 3: I know works it twice. Again, except the escorts. But
- 2:52Speaker 3: the point is, all of these UN coalitions... that were
- 2:57Speaker 3: all formed in a post-World War II world where we
- 3:00Speaker 3: were helping rebuild everybody and we were picking up the
- 3:02Speaker 3: tab for everything going on in Europe, have kind of
- 3:05Speaker 3: just run their course now. And the only real value
- 3:08Speaker 3: in UN week for Americans is to watch Trump show up,
- 3:12Speaker 3: do his little, you know, Don Rickles act, and they
- 3:15Speaker 3: just sit there like.
- 3:16Speaker 1: A cat getting a bath. It's my favorite thing in
- 3:19Speaker 1: the world.
- 3:20Speaker 3: You know, you just watch these people shrivel up and
- 3:22Speaker 3: their posture is terrible and they're all scowling.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That's UN week.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It peaked for me with the Trump speech and I
- 3:28Speaker 3: stopped watching after that.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Explain the Donald Trump personality. He's a great businessman and leader,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but he's also, you're right, he's Don Rickles. He's Howard Stern.
- 3:41Speaker 2: He doesn't care where he is or how formal it is.
- 3:43Speaker 2: He'll make jokes, tell you off as a comedian. How
- 3:47Speaker 2: do you think he does at doing that?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Well, this is where he's good, okay?
- 3:52Speaker 3: As a comic, you're really not supposed to read the room.
- 3:55Speaker 3: You're supposed to lead the room. You're the guy in charge.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I say that all the time. Now, as president, you're
- 4:00Speaker 3: not quite a comic, so in theory, you might want
- 4:03Speaker 3: to read the room, but Trump doesn't. I mean, don't
- 4:06Speaker 3: ever forget, he told a Pearl Harbor joke in front
- 4:08Speaker 3: of the prime minister of Japan.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That is the funniest thing in the world.
- 4:12Speaker 3: That is not a guy who is mindful of his
- 4:15Speaker 3: surroundings when he starts telling jokes, so.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I love it.
- 4:19Speaker 3: You know, I don't know that everybody loves it on
- 4:20Speaker 3: the world stage, but it's great entertainment for us. Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Hey, Jimmy Fallon, explain that again, because there's people listening.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Maybe they got to make a speech now and then.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So don't read the room, lead the room. How do
- 4:31Speaker 2: you do that?
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Well, if you're a speaker, OK, whether you're a comic,
- 4:35Speaker 3: whether you're given a speech, you know, some type of
- 4:37Speaker 3: an event, banquet, whatever the case may be, you are
- 4:41Speaker 3: in theory the only guy with a microphone. So what
- 4:44Speaker 3: you need to demonstrate more than anything is that you're
- 4:46Speaker 3: in charge and you have a plan for where to go.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You know, if you think of it like an airline pilot,
- 4:52Speaker 3: a pilot doesn't come on the PA and say, if
- 4:54Speaker 3: it's okay with you people, we're going to take off
- 4:57Speaker 3: third and climb up to 37,000 feet. He just says,
- 5:00Speaker 3: you know, this is captain so-and-so.
- 5:03Speaker 1: We're fifth in line. We're taking off.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Don't forget to get the Delta card. You'll get 10
- 5:08Speaker 3: points off your next purchase. And that's that.
- 5:10Speaker 1: He leads the room. He does not read the room.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He leads the room.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Certain jobs are leadership gigs. So if you're a comic,
- 5:16Speaker 3: that's absolutely the thing. When you go on stage, you
- 5:19Speaker 3: really have to be in charge first and foremost. Like
- 5:22Speaker 3: if you watch my Saturday night show, like I am
- 5:24Speaker 3: absolutely driving that bus because the minute they see that
- 5:28Speaker 3: you're kind of deferring to them, when they see kind
- 5:30Speaker 3: of like not necessarily fear but uncertainty on a comic's face,
- 5:34Speaker 3: If you look uncomfortable, they get uncomfortable. So the next
- 5:38Speaker 3: thing you know, you're telling a joke that might not
- 5:40Speaker 3: otherwise land. And instead of just missing, now you've got
- 5:44Speaker 3: a flat-out mutiny in the showroom, you know?
- 5:46Speaker 1: So you've got to be in charge.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So that's interesting stuff.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So UN Week is leaving. Netanyahu's going to speak today.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's going to be great entertainment. He's going to tell
- 5:58Speaker 2: everybody off, isn't he?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my favorite.
- 6:02Speaker 3: And I'm sure, you know, Mom Donnie will send in
- 6:04Speaker 3: the cop from the village people to try.
- 6:06Speaker 1: To arrest him or something.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I mean, no.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Real cops coming after this guy. That whole stupid criminal
- 6:12Speaker 3: court thing is a farce. But I love the Mamdani thing,
- 6:15Speaker 3: you know, just the same, because he can't resist the
- 6:19Speaker 3: bug light of attention.
- 6:21Speaker 1: You know, we said this when he was running. He's
- 6:23Speaker 1: a TikTok guy.
- 6:25Speaker 3: So there'll be a lot of grandstanding around this Netanyahu thing.
- 6:28Speaker 3: But the reality is the Netanyahu side, the pro-Israel side,
- 6:32Speaker 3: is winning. You know, Trump's getting, you know, unveiling this
- 6:35Speaker 3: new Gaza deal. Macklemore has been kicked off the Ed
- 6:38Speaker 3: Sheeran tour.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:40Speaker 3: With the exception of a couple of blue haired, crazy
- 6:42Speaker 3: people camping up at Columbia.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:44Speaker 1: The right side of this thing is winning. So I'll
- 6:47Speaker 1: enjoy today for that reason too.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Hey, you know, president Trump, he had a great life
- 6:51Speaker 2: here in New York parties, fun celebrities. I'll look at
- 6:55Speaker 2: him now. He's spending the whole day with president Xi
- 6:58Speaker 2: of China. You've seen this guy. Do you want to
- 7:00Speaker 2: spend the whole day with president Xi of China? What
- 7:03Speaker 2: was he thinking?
- 7:05Speaker 3: No.
- 7:06Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 7:06Speaker 3: But I'd probably be nice to him because China probably
- 7:08Speaker 3: has my whole search history.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Outside of that, what would you talk to the guy about?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Even for an hour. Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Well, listen, I mean, if you were going to be frank,
- 7:22Speaker 1: there's probably a lot of Asian women in my search history.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So we have a starting point, Mark. I don't know
- 7:28Speaker 1: if that's what you were looking for, but here we are.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Hey, you're going to be doing this great show, Night
- 7:37Speaker 2: of Comedy at Kuchina Calandra, Fairfield, New Jersey, October 28th.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Still tickets left, right? You can still get tickets.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I was told.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Not completely sold out yet.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's on its way.
- 7:48Speaker 3: And you can come eat spaghetti and meatballs with Jimmy Fallon.
- 7:51Speaker 1: That's exciting.
- 7:52Speaker 2: No, it is. Actually, if you want tickets, go to
- 7:56Speaker 2: 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. And people can listen
- 8:03Speaker 2: to you tonight, every weeknight on WOR, 9 to midnight.
- 8:07Speaker 2: What are you going to be doing on tonight's show?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh, it's Thursday.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So there's a lot of this crazy UN reaction stuff.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Brian Bremberg's coming on because he interviewed Melania Trump yesterday.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And I want to get his take because.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I've met Melania Trump when she was here to do
- 8:22Speaker 3: Fox and Friends. And I always tell people she's the
- 8:25Speaker 3: nicest woman in the world. Like she even helped me
- 8:27Speaker 3: up after the Secret Service tased me.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And she didn't have to do that. So, you know,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm going.
- 8:33Speaker 3: To show the same professionalism she did and talk to
- 8:35Speaker 3: Bremberg all about her tonight.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Oh, she's great. And then make sure you watch his— he
- 8:39Speaker 2: does the best late-night show on television. It's every Saturday night,
- 8:42Speaker 2: 10 o'clock, with the single best monologue in television. And
- 8:48Speaker 2: people can get tickets to that, right? It's free?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah. If you want free tickets, foxacrossamerica.com. We tape it
- 8:54Speaker 1: on Friday nights. It airs on Saturdays.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So everybody who's on the show, this week we.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Have Dolph Lundgren, who played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And— Yeah, George Santos is coming by to.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Promote his OnlyFans or whatever the heck he does.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I like George Santos.
- 9:10Speaker 3: He's cute.
- 9:11Speaker 2: He's a fun guy.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He is a good guy.
- 9:14Speaker 3: And for all of the ridiculousness he's been associated with,
- 9:18Speaker 3: he's a great TV guest.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So I'm really looking forward to interviewing him.
- 9:21Speaker 3: We're going to play a game called You or False,
- 9:24Speaker 3: where I ask him of rumors I've heard about him,
- 9:26Speaker 3: and he tells.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Me if they're real or not.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So it should be good.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Hey, if you're listening, you could be in the studio audience.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You get to meet all these people. They tape Friday evening.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It's free. It's a good date if you want to
- 9:37Speaker 2: bring somebody. Don't tell them it's free. But you go
- 9:40Speaker 2: to FoxAcrossAmerica.com and you'll get the tickets. FoxAcrossAmerica.com. Make sure
- 9:46Speaker 2: you listen to Jimmy Fallon tonight, every weeknight, 9 to midnight.
- 9:50Speaker 2: It's a great show on WOR. Jimmy Fallon, brilliant as always.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Thanks for being with us.
- 9:56Speaker 1: You're the best, Mark.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Take care. So, yeah. so I guess, is this the deal?
- 10:01Speaker 2: He'll be with us at 1040 every Thursday? Well, let
- 10:05Speaker 2: me just get this straight now. We got Steve Moore
- 10:06Speaker 2: at 1140? Oh, okay, good. We had a little mix
- 10:11Speaker 2: up there. So he's on 9 to midnight every night.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I'm on 9 a.m. till noon every day, three hours now.
- 10:21Speaker 2: You got Buck and Clay coming up at noon. Great
