- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The rex was not chasing the jeep.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Murray, Murray, you there?
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches? Huh, let's go to eighty. It was
- 0:14Speaker 2: bo wow that Prime time. Maybe I had a crush
- 0:18Speaker 2: on Betty Rubbell. I honestly, until after the segment ended
- 0:21Speaker 2: and we went to commercial break, had no idea that
- 0:24Speaker 2: Jonathan Coachman was black. He caught them the game last night,
- 0:27Speaker 2: although they won the game. You're listening to St.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Gottson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It is to gots and Company, presented by FanDuel and
- 0:35Speaker 2: the FanDuel sportsbook. Taylor put it on the poll. Are
- 0:38Speaker 2: we having a march or what? Man? This is what
- 0:42Speaker 2: march is all about. What a great game, What a
- 0:45Speaker 2: great weekend of games, and what a great weekend of
- 0:48Speaker 2: games to come here in the Final four? A great
- 0:51Speaker 2: final four. Mikey has A has a story from an
- 0:54Speaker 2: airplane he was watching the end of the Yukon game.
- 0:58Speaker 2: We will get to that just second, But is it
- 1:00Speaker 2: your thoughts?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Last night?
- 1:02Speaker 2: One of the all time great March Madness moments with
- 1:06Speaker 2: Brayln Mullins hitting a shot that catapults you got into
- 1:10Speaker 2: the Final Four for the third time in four years
- 1:13Speaker 2: under Dan Hurley and Dan Hurley get over yourself.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Wow, so many things there that Dan Hurley part. Didn't
- 1:21Speaker 4: I just say last week how much I hate the
- 1:23Speaker 4: coaches who try to rev up the crowd.
- 1:25Speaker 2: In the middle of their run.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Dan Hurley's the king of that. He drives me absolutely
- 1:29Speaker 2: upper wall.
- 1:30Speaker 4: However, the first thought that I had, yes, was it
- 1:34Speaker 4: was on the small TV. It was one of one
- 1:36Speaker 4: of the small TVs for me, because I was watching
- 1:38Speaker 4: NBA on the big TVs. And yes, the Heat was
- 1:40Speaker 4: one of those games. And yes, I'm sorry because they
- 1:42Speaker 4: you know, it's just it's just it's a bad team.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that. By the way, that
- 1:46Speaker 2: you had that such a great moment, such a great
- 1:48Speaker 2: basketball game on such a small TV, and what are
- 1:51Speaker 2: you doing? Man? Not that small.
- 1:53Speaker 4: But the reason that I did that is because these
- 1:56Speaker 4: average size the entirely it depends on where you measure.
- 1:59Speaker 4: From the entirety of the game, it felt like it
- 2:03Speaker 4: was not going to be a game that Yukon could
- 2:07Speaker 4: come back from.
- 2:07Speaker 2: They were down nineteen.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and then.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Every time you look, it's like, oh, they're fighting back, Oh,
- 2:11Speaker 4: they're still down nine, and it's just like it just
- 2:14Speaker 4: didn't feel like it was right. And then down the
- 2:16Speaker 4: stretch was it uh man Cara what what's his last name?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Cara? Who was about for some time?
- 2:27Speaker 4: Caravan hit the one three after he was zero for five,
- 2:29Speaker 4: and I was like, Okay, maybe there's something and then
- 2:32Speaker 4: you just see it happening. And then at the very end, Man,
- 2:36Speaker 4: the main thing that I think of is please can
- 2:40Speaker 4: we please keep an eye on Caden Boozer?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Right, Yes, you're concerned about Caden Boozer today. You have
- 2:45Speaker 2: to be and you should be. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 5: So there's some moments where my teams that I root
- 2:50Speaker 5: for are getting their teeth kicked in or getting my
- 2:53Speaker 5: heart ripped out, where I'm like, why why do I
- 2:56Speaker 5: invest so much time to sports when the result is
- 2:59Speaker 5: normally heartbreak? And then I'm on my couch yesterday and
- 3:03Speaker 5: I'm watching it happen to Duke and everything just kind
- 3:08Speaker 5: of falls right into place and I remember exactly why
- 3:12Speaker 5: I wake up in the morning. Yeah, And that's the
- 3:14Speaker 5: scene clues in the NAA Tournament. So Taylor wasn't thinking
- 3:17Speaker 5: about Kate and Boozer at all and hasn't thought about
- 3:19Speaker 5: him since that mistake.
- 3:22Speaker 4: It was such a crazy finish that like in an
- 3:25Speaker 4: empty gym. If Ukhon tries to run that same thing
- 3:29Speaker 4: ten times, he makes that shot, maybe three times in
- 3:33Speaker 4: an empty gym, Yes, but you've got all the pressure
- 3:36Speaker 4: of the setting, you know, your entire teammates being there,
- 3:40Speaker 4: the comeback, and it's just like that thing was clean. Yes, sure,
- 3:44Speaker 4: and it just made me like jump out of my
- 3:46Speaker 4: couch for a second, even though I have no rooting
- 3:48Speaker 4: interest in either side.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It was interesting. Dan Hurley had a time out. He
- 3:52Speaker 2: said after the game he didn't know what to do.
- 3:54Speaker 2: He wasn't expecting to get the ball back, wanted the
- 3:56Speaker 2: ball back. He didn't know what to do, and so
- 3:58Speaker 2: he just kept the flow of the game going because
- 4:01Speaker 2: they got a good shot. They got a good look.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It was from the logo, but for a guy who
- 4:05Speaker 2: hasn't hit a three the entire night, but he said
- 4:08Speaker 2: it was a good look. And once he once he
- 4:10Speaker 2: put it up in the air, Dan Hurley thought it
- 4:12Speaker 2: was going in. Yes, And then Dan Hurley lost his mind.
- 4:16Speaker 4: This man decided to just he started taking clothes off.
- 4:20Speaker 2: He went forehead to forehead, stew with an official. Yes,
- 4:25Speaker 2: what was that? I mean, he's really sinking into it,
- 4:28Speaker 2: isn't it. If you're the official, what do you do there?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Like, there's so many scenarios where I'm just like, okay,
- 4:34Speaker 4: I can only think of a few of these where
- 4:37Speaker 4: that's okay. Like maybe they were childhood friends and they
- 4:40Speaker 4: didn't tell anybody, or maybe they had a conversation during
- 4:44Speaker 4: the game that was just so heated that he couldn't help.
- 4:46Speaker 4: But like, hey, let me take a little bit off
- 4:47Speaker 4: of that. And it was just the oddest reaction I've
- 4:50Speaker 4: ever seen from a coach.
- 4:52Speaker 5: So we can all agree there, Dan Hurley headbuted that ref. Yes,
- 4:56Speaker 5: almost certainly headbudded the ref.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 5: And my favorite reac action after that game is the
- 5:01Speaker 5: Duke fans who are like, that should have been a
- 5:03Speaker 5: technical foul.
- 5:04Speaker 3: We should have been shooting.
- 5:05Speaker 5: And even further to that point, we have the Duke
- 5:10Speaker 5: play by play inject this into my veins for the
- 5:14Speaker 5: rest of my life.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Hit it in they do for Boozer, bobbled it back
- 5:17Speaker 6: for Sar and he needs to get rid of it. Dunster
- 5:19Speaker 6: Kaiden seven seconds trying to throw it ahead, deflected, stolen,
- 5:22Speaker 6: by Connecticut two seconds. It's Mullin's up top for the win.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Oh I hit it with three tenths of a second ago,
- 5:29Speaker 6: cal Kai Smith ran off the bench. That should be
- 5:33Speaker 6: a technical. Oh with three tints of a second ago.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Connecticut has the lead seventy three to seventy two, as
- 5:43Speaker 6: Connecticut got the three from Mullins after the turnover from
- 5:48Speaker 6: Cadaan Boozer.
- 5:50Speaker 2: This is why we hate Duke, I mean seriously, this
- 5:53Speaker 2: is why we hate their fans. This is why we
- 5:55Speaker 2: hate Duke looking for technicalities to get to the foul
- 5:59Speaker 2: line to be you gone because you blew a nineteen
- 6:01Speaker 2: point lead.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Oh man. And none of those lines matched the moment.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Not the first one where he's said he hit.
- 6:07Speaker 2: It, or the second where he said that's gonna be
- 6:09Speaker 2: a technical vowel. No, neither of those matched the moment.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I want that guy on the show. I also want
- 6:13Speaker 2: the referee that was headbutted on the show, if possible.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Taylor put it on the pole. Was the head butt
- 6:19Speaker 2: by Dan Hurley of foult.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Is he you say he didn't meet the moment? I
- 6:24Speaker 5: would argue the opposite. He is playing exactly to his base. Yes,
- 6:29Speaker 5: when when you're listening to that game. Imagine you're in
- 6:32Speaker 5: a car driving around Durham or most likely if you're
- 6:35Speaker 5: a Duke fan somewhere in northern New Jersey. Yeah, you
- 6:38Speaker 5: close your eyes and you just hear, oh, you hit it,
- 6:42Speaker 5: and then your heart absolutely sink.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And what you're thinking is did anyone run off the bench? Yes,
- 6:47Speaker 2: because that's what Dukies do, That's what the Cameron crazies do.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Is he if it was me?
- 6:52Speaker 4: And I'm closing my eyes after this comeback has been happening,
- 6:57Speaker 4: and I hear that and I'm picturing it. I need
- 7:00Speaker 4: that he hit it to be followed with. And this
- 7:04Speaker 4: was the worst and most embarrassing loss in the history
- 7:07Speaker 4: of the history of the Duke program. We deserve everything
- 7:09Speaker 4: we've gotten for this, all those wins that we've had
- 7:11Speaker 4: in our history. This is just payback for all of that,
- 7:14Speaker 4: because that's what it was, That's what it felt like.
- 7:16Speaker 4: It was absolutely incredible.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I thought you said something really interesting. We'll get to
- 7:20Speaker 2: Mikey's story on an airplane watching the Yukon game in
- 7:22Speaker 2: just a second. But you're concerned for Caiden Boozer because
- 7:26Speaker 2: that is a tough spot for a young kid. He
- 7:28Speaker 2: blew Duke's chance of making it to a final four.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Those two kids, the Boozer kids, have done a lot
- 7:34Speaker 2: of winning. That's the first time they faced a ton
- 7:36Speaker 2: of adversity, and he is feeling it today.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Let's just start with Let's pretend they're not on all
- 7:42Speaker 4: these commercials right Let's pretend they're not the most famous
- 7:46Speaker 4: twins right now playing basketball, which is saying something because
- 7:49Speaker 4: there's a few. Let's just pretend they're regular NCAA players.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Caden Boozer will have nightmares about what looked like the
- 8:00Speaker 4: easiest pass he will ever make in his life. Yes,
- 8:02Speaker 4: it was two wide open dudes down that he had
- 8:06Speaker 4: visions in his head of one of those guys catching it,
- 8:09Speaker 4: dunking it and celebrating wildly for the final four.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That's step one. It's important to point out they only
- 8:14Speaker 2: needed to make one pass. He didn't need to make
- 8:16Speaker 2: a pass, just I no, no, no, no, an inbounds pass
- 8:19Speaker 2: and just hold the ball. The game's over. Dukes to
- 8:21Speaker 2: the final four today, so is he.
- 8:24Speaker 5: People are gonna Monday morning quarterback what Caden Boozer could
- 8:27Speaker 5: have done differently, And that's fair. But where I think
- 8:30Speaker 5: Shire deserves some blame. Isaiah Evans is their best free
- 8:33Speaker 5: throw shooter eighty six percent, and he's standing on the
- 8:37Speaker 5: other side of the court. Yeah, under the basket, the
- 8:40Speaker 5: guy that Caden Boozer was most likely trying to pass
- 8:43Speaker 5: it to when he got caught there.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Listen, sports radio was invented to second guest Taylor put
- 8:47Speaker 2: that on the poll. Okay, don't apologize for it, don't
- 8:50Speaker 2: feel badly about it. We are always armed with hindsight.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That's why we're always right.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I mean geez, So not only did that happen right, like,
- 8:57Speaker 4: just the most devastating thing, but then put other just
- 9:01Speaker 4: facts on it. Right, Your brother, your twin brother, just
- 9:06Speaker 4: carried you all the way to.
- 9:08Speaker 2: That point and you let him down. Your dad went
- 9:13Speaker 2: to school here. There's that legacy situation, and.
- 9:17Speaker 4: You are of the two clearly the lesser brother, like
- 9:22Speaker 4: you stopped growing, Cam didn't stop growing.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yes, you're listen, you're Lamello ball. It's a LaMelo ball.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Turned out to be a lot better than Lonzo ball. Yes,
- 9:31Speaker 2: well he's le Angelo ball, all right, Leangelo than that? Yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 2: thank you, I forgot.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I was going to ask if he was Cooper Boozer.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but no, but once upon a time it was
- 9:42Speaker 2: Lonzo who was supposed to be the superstar, not Lamello, right.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Right, and then LaMelo Yeah, And so you've got all
- 9:49Speaker 4: of those things, and then on top of it where
- 9:53Speaker 4: it's just like, oh, I literally had to do nothing.
- 9:57Speaker 4: I had to do absolutely nothing. And then what's he
- 10:00Speaker 4: gonna do. He's gonna go home, He's gonna try if
- 10:02Speaker 4: he can, to put on TV and say I need
- 10:04Speaker 4: to stop thinking about this.
- 10:05Speaker 2: And what's gonna come up on his TV? A commercial
- 10:08Speaker 2: with him.
- 10:08Speaker 4: And his brother and it's gonna be just always reminding
- 10:12Speaker 4: him that I, even though it wasn't entirely my fault,
- 10:16Speaker 4: had the biggest blunder perhaps of the entire Duke program history.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Oh, no, doubt easily.
- 10:22Speaker 5: So Kaden Boozer is going to get a huge slice
- 10:26Speaker 5: on the blame pie. Somebody that's gonna get another slice
- 10:30Speaker 5: on the blame pie, although a lot smaller. Isaiah Evans
- 10:34Speaker 5: for not even getting a hand up on Bradlin Mullin's
- 10:38Speaker 5: contested shot. Yeah, STU, guess what Isaiah Evans Instagram name is?
- 10:45Speaker 5: Get a hand up?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Can your Instagram name be get a hand up? And
- 10:53Speaker 2: you don't get a hand up in the biggest of moments.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I'll put that on the pole, please.
- 10:58Speaker 4: I think if you would have honestly I saw that, Taylor,
- 11:01Speaker 4: I entirely thought it was fake. I thought somebody just
- 11:03Speaker 4: changed his handle name just for the joke. It's almost
- 11:08Speaker 4: impossible to believe that it's real.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Stick outs here.

- 13:04Speaker 2: He sends out Carlos Boozer's phone number and he says,
- 13:08Speaker 2: who's gonna call Booze today? And I know what he's
- 13:12Speaker 2: doing there. He's essentially asking me to reach out to
- 13:16Speaker 2: Carlos Boozer, which I will. I try to get him
- 13:19Speaker 2: on for the live radio show, but I will listen.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I have told you a million times, the most dangerous
- 13:25Speaker 2: call in sports radio to make is to Jimmy Johnson
- 13:28Speaker 2: on any given day, Okay, but Carlos Boozer. I'd rather
- 13:32Speaker 2: call Jimmy Johnson today that have to call Carlos Boozer
- 13:35Speaker 2: and ask him for fifteen to twenty minutes of his time.
- 13:38Speaker 4: The most like embarrassed as I have made five The
- 13:44Speaker 4: most nervy I've ever had of that situation is I
- 13:46Speaker 4: don't know if you remember. You remember, but a lot
- 13:48Speaker 4: of people may not remember. But Alonzo Morning had a
- 13:50Speaker 4: kidney ailment back in two thousand and he was just
- 13:54Speaker 4: figuring out, and I had just gotten on the beat
- 13:57Speaker 4: as a twenty three year old reporter, and ever it
- 14:00Speaker 4: was just desperate to see how I would do in
- 14:02Speaker 4: this situation. And I had to call Alonzo Morning's foster
- 14:08Speaker 4: mother right in the middle of what was the most
- 14:11Speaker 4: you know, at the time, curious, controversial, you know, injury
- 14:15Speaker 4: of probably the Miami Heats history, no doubt. And this
- 14:19Speaker 4: woman was I believe, you know, late seventies, early eighties,
- 14:23Speaker 4: and it was just like, I don't know if this
- 14:25Speaker 4: is gonna turned out well or not. And it turned
- 14:27Speaker 4: out great, but it was nerve wrecking. I'd rather do
- 14:29Speaker 4: that again than call Kelly Slizer today.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I just saw the highlight of the Hurly headbutt. Yeah
- 14:35Speaker 2: it was a foul. I mean it was a foul.
- 14:39Speaker 2: There were still time on the clock. He had butted
- 14:41Speaker 2: a referee. It should have been two shots for Duke.
- 14:44Speaker 5: I mean, I love how the ball. I love how
- 14:47Speaker 5: psycho Dan Hurley is. If you remember when he took
- 14:50Speaker 5: the Yukon job, they missed the tournament the first two
- 14:53Speaker 5: years he was there, and then they lost to Villanova
- 14:56Speaker 5: in like twenty twenty, and he made the claim like
- 14:59Speaker 5: you better get us now because our time is coming,
- 15:03Speaker 5: and everyone's like, what a what a psycho this guy?
- 15:06Speaker 3: Dan Hurley is?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Shut up, guy.
- 15:07Speaker 5: They were right that he's a psycho. But he's now
- 15:10Speaker 5: seventeen and three at Yukon in the NCAA tournament since
- 15:14Speaker 5: that moment, Yes, with two national titles and three final
- 15:18Speaker 5: four appearances. So my question for you guys, if you
- 15:21Speaker 5: ask Duke fans today, would they trade John Shire.
- 15:24Speaker 3: For Dan Hurley?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Fuck? Yeah, heartbeat, Yep, you think so. I think just
- 15:28Speaker 2: about any school. Taylor. He's on the verge of winning
- 15:31Speaker 2: his third national championship in four years.
- 15:33Speaker 4: If you just asked Duke fans based on the two
- 15:36Speaker 4: photos of the coaches after the game, the one that
- 15:38Speaker 4: you posted Taylor and the one that America is seeing
- 15:41Speaker 4: with Hurley headbutting of referee, I think they would all say, yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 4: I get rid of that Shire guy.
- 15:45Speaker 2: That's a foul.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It feels like Duke. He feels like a Duke Head coach.
- 15:50Speaker 2: He does feel like a Duke Head coach, he really does.
- 15:54Speaker 8: I can't believe that he was the most popular coach
- 15:57Speaker 8: in a game. Again, Like you like Dan Hurley against
- 15:59Speaker 8: edit the other team is the coach you least like
- 16:02Speaker 8: in that game, But when he's coaching against Duke you
- 16:05Speaker 8: love him because we love watching Duke lose.
- 16:07Speaker 2: That's a great question, though, Would you take him now? Yeah?
- 16:10Speaker 4: After he just after he just did that to your team,
- 16:14Speaker 4: would you be like, all right, can't beat him joining them?
- 16:16Speaker 4: Type of situation because it's just like constant memory, a
- 16:20Speaker 4: haunting memory of that happening.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And now he's your coach. I think the only school
- 16:24Speaker 2: that doesn't take him is Arizona.
- 16:27Speaker 4: It's Tommy Lloyd. I mean, this is all a useless conversation.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Arizona's the greatest basketball team of all.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Time, and Dan Hurley's not going anywhere now he turned
- 16:35Speaker 2: down the Lakers.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Well that's that's the thing, Taylor, because everybody hates Duke
- 16:41Speaker 4: for decades, but we should hate Yukon.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yukon is just as annoyings. No, we do hate Yukon,
- 16:47Speaker 2: except when they're playing Duke.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Duke hatred, no doubt, Duke hatred.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Trump's all yes.
- 16:53Speaker 2: No, no, I get the Duke hatred, but I don't.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I've never really.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Felt the Yukon hatred because to me, the Yukon sick
- 17:00Speaker 4: excess is always felt like, Hey, look at that nice
- 17:02Speaker 4: little school up there doing their thing, and then just
- 17:04Speaker 4: you know, every once in a while they'll show up
- 17:05Speaker 4: and win.
- 17:06Speaker 2: But now we're talking like all the time. People don't
- 17:08Speaker 2: like Hurley. They don't, especially in the Northeast, if they
- 17:11Speaker 2: didn't go to Yukon. They don't like them. Except when
- 17:13Speaker 2: he coaches against John Shire and Duke. Yeah, they love them.
- 17:16Speaker 2: We all do, yes, is he?
- 17:17Speaker 5: I don't think they really hated Kevin Ollie or Jim
- 17:21Speaker 5: Calhoun now, but the fact that it's Bobby Hurley's brother
- 17:25Speaker 5: makes people want to hate him more. And then you
- 17:27Speaker 5: see Dan Hurley's antics on the sideline and you're like, man,
- 17:31Speaker 5: I really hate that guy, but he's playing.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Duke right now, Bobby Hurley, right, That combined with their
- 17:36Speaker 2: annoying fan base who was defined by basketball men's and
- 17:39Speaker 2: women's because they have the most dominant basketball program maybe
- 17:42Speaker 2: in the history of college basketball. When you combine both
- 17:45Speaker 2: teams and so people Mikey knows he's from the Northeast.
- 17:47Speaker 2: People don't like Yukon, right, And.
- 17:50Speaker 9: If you did not go there or you're not from Connecticut,
- 17:53Speaker 9: yes you hate Yukon.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they're annoying.
- 17:55Speaker 4: What I'm always surprised by, and maybe this should speak
- 17:57Speaker 4: to that them being annoying, is how many Yukon fans
- 18:01Speaker 4: there really are, because I'll be in the Northeast somewhere
- 18:03Speaker 4: and it's just oh, you go on basketball, you com basketball,
- 18:05Speaker 4: and I'm just like, really, yeah, they're not even but
- 18:07Speaker 4: they're not even.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Close to here. It's the only thing that state has.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I mean, that's the only thing that school has. Yes, right,
- 18:14Speaker 2: they don't have a great football program. I mean, what
- 18:16Speaker 2: else do you know Yukon four other than basketball? Right,
- 18:20Speaker 2: and their fan base is really annoying, like almost as
- 18:23Speaker 2: annoying as Duke's, but not as clever.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So that leads right into my story.
- 18:29Speaker 9: Yes, So, yesterday, I'm flying home from Florida to Hartford.
- 18:35Speaker 9: There's one flight, okay, and that flight happens to be
- 18:39Speaker 9: in the last two minutes of that game. Is when
- 18:43Speaker 9: we board and we're getting on the plane, is the
- 18:45Speaker 9: last two minutes of that game. And we're flying an airline.
- 18:50Speaker 9: I don't really want to say their name, but they
- 18:53Speaker 9: have TVs and it goes well with the Duke Blue Devils.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Jeff, Okay, you got it. I didn't say it. You did.
- 19:03Speaker 9: So everybody gets in their seat and everybody immediately puts
- 19:06Speaker 9: the game on. I mean there's two hundred seats in
- 19:08Speaker 9: the plane. Two hundred of them are tuned into this game.
- 19:13Speaker 9: And then the stewardess starts the safety election. And when
- 19:18Speaker 9: you're on this plane and the stewardess is talking, there
- 19:22Speaker 9: is a box that covers up ninety percent of the
- 19:24Speaker 9: screen that says announcement in progress.
- 19:26Speaker 2: She's got to do that at two times as this
- 19:28Speaker 2: game is going on. There's a time and a place.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Terrible job, I mean, seriously, Okay, I'll.
- 19:34Speaker 9: Even forgive her for that, because listen, as much as
- 19:37Speaker 9: I hate, you know, my Yukon hatred bona fides, Okay,
- 19:40Speaker 9: I hate Yukon, but I also understand this is all
- 19:44Speaker 9: these people have. This is the only thing they have,
- 19:47Speaker 9: and you can't take it away from them. So she
- 19:51Speaker 9: finishes the safety lecture, and now we're in the last
- 19:55Speaker 9: ten seconds. They are about to inbound the ball, and
- 19:58Speaker 9: I'm like, okay, we through the safety lecture and we're
- 20:01Speaker 9: going to see how this game ends. As they inbound
- 20:04Speaker 9: the ball, she gets back on to start the credit
- 20:07Speaker 9: card pitch.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Oh boy, the credit card pitch off. That's supposed to
- 20:13Speaker 2: be right before you land. It's the last thing you
- 20:15Speaker 2: hear from them. Eighty thousand three miles enough.
- 20:17Speaker 9: I mean, some asshole who happened to be sitting in
- 20:20Speaker 9: my seat yells out read the room lady.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You really did that, lay, of course?
- 20:32Speaker 2: Why were you so afraid to pick off a plane?
- 20:34Speaker 2: For saying stuff like that these days. I mean, why
- 20:36Speaker 2: were you so terrified to say, Jeff Blue, what happened there?
- 20:39Speaker 9: I mean cares listen, I don't know who sponsors who here?
- 20:43Speaker 2: No, I mean listen. No, there's a time and a place,
- 20:46Speaker 2: and that was neither the time nor the place to
- 20:49Speaker 2: be doing safety announcements.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Also, if you're this big Yukon fan, you can't get
- 20:55Speaker 5: on that plane. I don't care where you're going or
- 20:58Speaker 5: what you're doing, right, you can't get on that plane
- 21:00Speaker 5: knowing the situation.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah, by the way, if you booked a plane, I
- 21:03Speaker 2: question your fandom. Yeah, kidding me, I questioned if you're
- 21:07Speaker 2: a real fan at all. I mean, who takes a
- 21:09Speaker 2: flight during an Elite eight game? You move it?
- 21:11Speaker 9: I mean, listen, what First, there's one flight. There's one
- 21:14Speaker 9: flight to Connecticut, and if you don't get on it,
- 21:16Speaker 9: that's it. You're stuck.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Second, there's always tomorrow, a lucky bingo.
- 21:21Speaker 9: When we started, when we started boarding, they were down nine.
- 21:26Speaker 2: This is such a not a second. That was an
- 21:30Speaker 2: amazing sentence. They started the boarding process military you know,
- 21:35Speaker 2: women with children, yeh, group one. They started the boarding
- 21:39Speaker 2: process and Yukon was down nine. So naturally people boarding
- 21:43Speaker 2: that plane just figured, Hey, the fucking game's over, I'll
- 21:46Speaker 2: just go home. Yeah.
- 21:47Speaker 5: So Yukon was down four with about a minute left.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Caravan hits the three his first three of the game,
- 21:53Speaker 5: to cut it to one. If I'm in twenty c
- 21:57Speaker 5: you're here in my seat, unbuckle and I go, hey,
- 22:00Speaker 5: you gotta get off this plane right now.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Once you step off, you can't get back on TV.
- 22:04Speaker 3: We'll figure it out.
- 22:04Speaker 9: You sit there going I'm on the right airline right now.
- 22:07Speaker 9: I have a TV, this game is on, and I
- 22:10Speaker 9: am traveling.
- 22:12Speaker 4: I'm saving myself hundreds and hundreds of dollars rebooking just
- 22:16Speaker 4: watching the game on my phone.
- 22:17Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm sorry to ruin it, but you just if
- 22:20Speaker 10: you're a true you gun fan, you have that game
- 22:22Speaker 10: on your phone as your board, and you're not relying
- 22:25Speaker 10: on that little TV because you know they're gonna make announcements.
- 22:28Speaker 1: So it's funny you should say that, Izzy. So that
- 22:30Speaker 1: was my thought. I have YouTube TV. I have YouTube
- 22:33Speaker 1: TV on my phone.
- 22:34Speaker 9: I'm like, I'm just gonna pop this on my phone.
- 22:37Speaker 9: CBS is blocked out in the Tampa area.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Wow, on YouTube TV.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I told you about Tampa, dude, there's no reason to
- 22:45Speaker 2: go there. Yeah, happen there. Man, just come on down
- 22:48Speaker 2: to Fort Lauderdale. You would have been able to watch
- 22:51Speaker 2: the end on your phone and gotten to hang out
- 22:53Speaker 2: with me. Right.
- 22:55Speaker 9: So, so here's how so here, so there's two children,
- 22:59Speaker 9: like babies, right, and of course he hits the shot.
- 23:03Speaker 1: We see it.
- 23:04Speaker 9: Everybody starts screaming. Somebody goes, oh shit, and the stewardess
- 23:09Speaker 9: gets back on as people are going and goes, please
- 23:12Speaker 9: watch your language.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I'm like, again, do.
- 23:16Speaker 2: You not see what's happening to these The kids will understand. Yes, okay,
- 23:20Speaker 2: please watch the language. And oh visa Jet Blue card
- 23:23Speaker 2: eighty thousand three miles if you qualified, yes, yes.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You can reach mosaic status faster.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Do you guys listen to the safety procedures?
- 23:33Speaker 6: No?
- 23:34Speaker 2: I mean, come on, let's be honest. I don't want to.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Like the plane goes down.
- 23:38Speaker 4: There's nothing I can do. We're Delta used to try
- 23:41Speaker 4: to make it funny. They used to do some like
- 23:43Speaker 4: funny visuals and like oh maybe you saw that, maybe
- 23:46Speaker 4: you didn't type of stuff, and like, after you see
- 23:48Speaker 4: that one time, you don't need to watch it again.
- 23:51Speaker 9: I got I got visions of stet Gotts and a
- 23:53Speaker 9: down plane going where the hell's the life jacket? How
- 23:55Speaker 9: am I supposed to know where the life jacket is?
- 23:57Speaker 9: And how do I blow it up?
- 24:00Speaker 2: I don't know what I'm thinking in that spot.
- 24:02Speaker 3: He's crawling over women and children. I think she said
- 24:06Speaker 3: Stubats is first.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I'm trying to get in one last joint.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I mean, what's deeplane by Bank account.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Podcast hosts?
- 24:17Speaker 1: First? Please?
- 24:21Speaker 2: I did deeplane once Jimmy Johnson was on the plane.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Call him?
- 24:26Speaker 2: Uh No, I'm not calling him today. I will call
- 24:28Speaker 2: Carlos Boozer, though, but I'd rather call Jimmy Johnson. I would.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I don't want to call Carlos Boozer. I mean, how
- 24:34Speaker 2: do I start that conversation? Is he? Because on the
- 24:37Speaker 2: front end there needs to be messaging like, no, you're
- 24:38Speaker 2: going through a difficult time here. I hope your son's
- 24:41Speaker 2: O good. Even though Taylor's delighting in his misery's not
- 24:45Speaker 2: in a coma. I mean it's pretty bad. I mean,
- 24:50Speaker 2: he'll listen. He has to think about that every day
- 24:54Speaker 2: for the remainder of his life, and that's a tough
- 24:57Speaker 2: thing to live with it really is. I'm with you
- 24:59Speaker 2: on this. We should all be concerned for Caiden Boozer today,
- 25:02Speaker 2: and yet tailors not go ahead tail.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Yeah, so I'll start to call to Carlos Boozer and say, hey, Carlos,
- 25:07Speaker 5: I noticed that every time something went well for Duke,
- 25:10Speaker 5: they showed you on TV. But then when the Duke
- 25:13Speaker 5: collap started, they mysteriously stopped showing you and didn't show
- 25:16Speaker 5: you after the game.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Thoughts.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Oh good if by the Boozers, I'm just turning this
- 25:21Speaker 4: into a state farm commercial. Just Cayden just starts knowing
- 25:24Speaker 4: things and it just gets tipped no matter where, no
- 25:26Speaker 4: matter where.
- 25:26Speaker 2: They're monetizing the situation. I am so fucking proud of you.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Nil money, get me another state farm commercial. Let's try
- 25:33Speaker 4: this again next year. I feel like I'm looking at myself.
- 25:40Speaker 4: I mean, they've got more opportunities at it. It's not
- 25:43Speaker 4: like they're running out of eligibility and they get paid now.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And they were already rich to begin with because of Dad.
- 25:50Speaker 2: That's not that bad, you know what, Caaden Boozer, He's fine.
- 25:52Speaker 2: He's probably partying somewhere. Wait, so now is he is
- 25:55Speaker 2: calling off?
- 25:56Speaker 4: Yeah? I'll call off the watch. I think he's fine.
- 25:59Speaker 4: He's just gonna run it back now.
- 26:00Speaker 2: You think he's okay today, But he's not going to
- 26:02Speaker 2: the NBA. His brother will probably go to the NBA. Yeah,
- 26:04Speaker 2: his brother will probably be a top three pick. He
- 26:07Speaker 2: might make the NBA.
- 26:08Speaker 4: I don't think he's going to be leaving now, and
- 26:10Speaker 4: so yeah, I think he might have an opportunity. What
- 26:12Speaker 4: a story it would be if young Caden Boozer comes
- 26:15Speaker 4: back brings Duke all the way back to a championship
- 26:17Speaker 4: without his.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Brother Taylor I left out and you'll love this that
- 26:22Speaker 2: Dan Hurley postgame was saying, I was thinking about the timeout.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I didn't know what to do. It was very stressful,
- 26:27Speaker 2: and then I just decided to let March happen. Do
- 26:32Speaker 2: you care that March is over? Before the next two
- 26:34Speaker 2: games happened, three games happened.
- 26:35Speaker 1: What
