- 0:53chiley weekend here in Atlanta, Georgia, but there were some hot NFL games
- 0:59the key if you very entertained. We are down to the final four for
- 1:06the NFL. Really no surprise. Maybe a little upset last night, but
- 1:12not really. We went with all the home teams and all the home teams
- 1:19tried to prevail. Three of them did, one of them did not.
- 1:22We have a lot to talk about as far as the NFL goes, and
- 1:26we're finally three weeks away from the super Bowl, but the conference championships will
- 1:33be upon us in a couple of days. Me and my crew this morning,
- 1:38having a nostalgic moment. We having pop tarts, big Kenny, command
- 1:45you, Greg. Everybody looks like they're command you. Greg might give up
- 1:49toasta Strudels. This all started a couple of shows ago where he had the
- 1:53audacity to go on record and say he was a toastal strudle guy, which
- 2:00lets you know he owns a lot of land out there in Oklahoma, because
- 2:04you know, uh told the strude costs more money than pop talks always back
- 2:07in the day, and you had to have other equipment pop tarks, you
- 2:12just needed a toast or nothing at all. You had to have pans and
- 2:17and and things that helped you out. It's a toaster street, you know.
- 2:23So. But fellas, good morning tee, which was your favorite flavor?
- 2:30I gave you two flavors. I gave you some'mores, and then I
- 2:34gave you banana nut. Banana nut. But now, okay, okay,
- 2:38okay, I saw that coming from you, big Ken. Thanks. I
- 2:45saw that coming. I saw that coming from the banana. Nothing else.
- 2:50Banana commands you. I haven't tried the banana. It's right there. It's
- 2:54right there, to your left, to your left, to your left.
- 2:58It's strange to you on it. Go ahead on and get in on it
- 3:00to see what you say. And while he's chewing bad producer, which which
- 3:06was your favorite? Moores? Smores? Okay, okay, campfire guy.
- 3:09You know he was in the Masons. The Masons have a night Thigress,
- 3:19he said, the night thigers that, but all the boy Scout also spelled
- 3:27thigris man. I'm not this morning. Hold on, we can't hold no
- 3:34further than the show Nights of Thigris right, and what he's saying, well,
- 3:38spell what he's saying. I spelled c You was in the organization spelled
- 3:46but thigris man. I was eight. I ain't know. We an't had
- 3:49to learn how to spell it. Wow. Wow, wow wow that's how.
- 3:54That's how, that's how all that, that's how all of the organizations
- 3:59a road right, We ain't got you know what you were spelling? Right?
- 4:06I just I just want to get in. And he said it was
- 4:10such no, no, no, no, don't hit the keys because you're
- 4:12cheating. Put your hands down, put your hands down here, put your
- 4:16hands down, knights and the thipris you said, it was so co much
- 4:21as I was in the boys that though you asked what the Masons was they
- 4:28had how do you spell the Boys gout can you spell? But it's a
- 4:35yes, no, yes, no question. I'm gonna spell it if I
- 4:39can spell it correctly whatever I don't remember. Okay, let's write this down,
- 4:43big Kenny. Remember this is your man's now wait now, hold on.
- 4:46See now we got a whole different issue. How he gets I get
- 4:50wheel demands. So you're saying, yes, you can spell it, I'm
- 4:55saying I'm gonna spell it. No, I can't spell. Know you cannot.
- 5:00I don't want you to do it the best you can. If you
- 5:04don't try, you you ain't trying. I don't know what that is either.
- 5:11So we're gonna move on. I hope you had a great weekend.
- 5:13As I said, the NFL action hot and heavy the biggest thing. Well,
- 5:17sorry, comand you Greg. He got us all side track. At
- 5:20some point he's gonna either google it or text somebody for the spelling, and
- 5:25then by the end of the show he'll try to play it as he remembered.
- 5:30But block that out. Start with the pop talk. I do like
- 5:35the banana but I like themores. Okay, okay, okay, I got
- 5:42you. Okay, So we've got two smores and two banana nuts. You
- 5:46you prefer the banana. Yeah, I'm a culture culture so just wanted to
- 5:51knock that out. Because the guys I promised them will do a pop Tart
- 5:55Day a couple of shows ago. They don't ever try to help me remember
- 5:59anything. No, No, I thought you remember when you say you know,
- 6:03and that's what I thought was coming. When you said it's pop Tart
- 6:06Day. I thought he found some hot flaming you know, and we're gonna
- 6:12have to sit here and live through that on air. But then when you
- 6:18came with the regular looking I was like, this is it's hot flaming cheeto
- 6:23in the middle or something like that. But thank you, sir, and
- 6:28the wares was good. I mean I didn't even know that they had had
- 6:30us more. That's what I was saying. You don't know how to spell.
- 6:32They have a Pythagoras flame to a couple of things you don't really know.
- 6:39That's a lot. That's a lot of CBS. I got to call
- 6:42out CBS real quick. Uh. They got my old coach up there,
- 6:46Bill Cower. I'm talking about the in studio team, Bill Cower, Phil
- 6:51Sim's Boomer Size and James Brown, Nate Burlerson, James Brown to keep aging
- 7:00backwards. Way too much makeup. No, no, that's James Brown,
- 7:08way too much makeup. Whoever, you're a makeup lady. They I looked
- 7:13up at the screen and I was envisioning them in a coffin. They looked
- 7:18like they had left the Martian makeup artist's James Brown. Real ha, No
- 7:25see, I said, the crew, you're still on James Brown. I'm
- 7:28saying, she said, you singling out people when I'm talking about the whole
- 7:30crew. The whole crew looked like they were ready for burial. No,
- 7:35they was casting fresh, like somebody had the Martian that came in and they
- 7:42had died in a fiery crash, and they had to make them look like
- 7:46versions of what they used to look like. I know they were looking bad
- 7:49because you got good TVs. I know they were looking bad. They were
- 7:53looking bad on your tea. Now, what Big Kenny just alluding to is
- 7:58just James keeps he's seventy eight, and he has that infant black hair at
- 8:05seventy eight for sure, and his hairline is back to what would be that
- 8:11your cerebral seventy five seventy six. That's where his headline go back to about
- 8:20the midst it's JB now they call it. Every time they went to the
- 8:24crew, I kept thinking, Wow, I wonder if they added are they're
- 8:28looking in because I'm always you know, and those when I'm making sure just
- 8:35a little powdered keyp from sweating, not enough makeup, that may well you're
- 8:39changing who I really am, naturally. But I looked at them and they
- 8:43look totally like dead fresh. They were ready to be better. But they
- 8:48they under the hot lights all day. You know, football is the kind
- 8:52of thing. They start doing the pregame pre game around eleven am and then
- 8:56done into maybe about eleven PM. They're out there under the lights, so
- 9:01maybe they're trying to get ahead start on keeping them know they were inside the
- 9:07studio, yeah there, and they don't go to like yeah, they just
- 9:11they're just like eight minute segments under all them. It needs, it needs
- 9:18what do they call it, a contractor grade, makeup, makeup artists,
- 9:24and one other thing. And I know it's gonna come up with different times
- 9:28in the show for all the broadcasts, the ESPN, ABC, Fox,
- 9:35NBC, NFL Network, Peacock, anybody that produces NFL games, we get
- 9:48it. Travis Kelsey dates Taylor Swept. We get it. We we get

- 10:45the people. You don't even hit me with the usual kuise of so say
- 10:48and something. You as soon as kept Travis, you flash the Taylor's whip.
- 10:56And for you that didn't know, trav Is Kelsey was Travis Kelsey before
- 11:03he met Taylor Swift. But producers, please, I know y'all, y'all
- 11:16are trying to rock and roll. And but it's okay other people to date.

- 11:31go and flash her every It's okay. Guys in sports date famous people and
- 11:37vice versa. Women in sports date famous. But how much Taylor Swift?
- 11:43What is it we need that you're so obsessed about. We need to know
- 11:48every time he scores, We need to see a public display of affection and

- 16:03Glad to be here, the mad producing the building, command you, Greg
- 16:07McKinny. NFL down to four teams after the divisional playoff weekend. It started
- 16:17on Saturday. The Texans went into ball to More and for a half they
- 16:25put up a fight. It was ten to ten at half, and then
- 16:30the temperature kept dropping and that's when the Ravens took over the game. It
- 16:37was the classic team that plays indoors in the South got caught out in the
- 16:42weather. The physicality of the Ravens shined in this game in that second half.
- 16:49As Lamar Jackson said he had to go in and throw a couple of
- 16:52choice words around to his team. They woke up in that second half,
- 16:59especially defenseively. When you think about they didn't let the Texans score again in
- 17:06the game. They had ten points at half, Big Kenny, they had
- 17:10ten points when the game ended. We knew there was going to be tough
- 17:14out there for CJ. Stroud against that kind of defense. But the Baltimore
- 17:18Ravens now have poised himselves to be at home this coming weekend. Lamar Jackson
- 17:26having a Lamar Jackson date where a balance he balanced the team. He threw
- 17:32for about one hundred and fifty yards, ran for like one hundred two touchdowns
- 17:36on both sides of that, did give up about four sacks in the game,
- 17:42but definitely is one of those guys that can hurt you at a moment.
- 17:48And it's amazing how many and it's not just him. I don't know
- 17:56if it's just because it's hard to practice. One thing about sacking the quarterback
- 18:03that a lot of you don't realize it is hard is that you can't practice
- 18:11it. I know you're sitting in your mind and you're not really understanding it's
- 18:19a part of the game that you don't actually get to practice. You get
- 18:26to practice your move of rushing me, but you don't really get to practice
- 18:33tackling the quarterback in a sack. You don't get to bring the quarterback down.
- 18:40Most of you have watched practice films or tape and you wonder why the
- 18:45quarterback has on a red or orange or different jersey he's on that puts him
- 18:49in the untouchable range. At best, you get to run by and if
- 18:56you beat the lineman or beat the tight end, or beat the running back
- 19:00from blocking you, you get to pat him on the butt, the quarterback.
- 19:07So if you're ever wondering why these quarterbacks get out of these kind of
- 19:14situations, the guys just coming to get them. Even though they're bigger and
- 19:17stronger, they don't they haven't practiced it. It's the same reason quarterbacks get
- 19:22can get hurt easy because they don't get practiced. They don't get thrown on
- 19:26the ground. So when you throw them on the ground, that's their first
- 19:30experience until the next time. It's not like you, you know, and
- 19:37they're not like O line and D line the line where we get to thud
- 19:40up and when you throw them down. If this is the first sack of
- 19:45the year, that means it's the first time he's been on the ground.
- 19:48That's why it can affect you. But you saw this with Patrick Mahomes yesterday.
- 19:52You saw it with Josh Allen. Even Baker Mayfield got out a couple
- 19:59and it's like man, man, while these guys keep slipping, Yeah,
- 20:03until they get to that point, it's nothing to practice. Now I know,
- 20:07Comandi Gred looking like, why they don't just hire somebody that to stand
- 20:12back here and let him slam him on the ground and practice. That would
- 20:17practice. You can't even throw the practice squad quarterback down because he got the
- 20:23jersey, he got the jersey on. They might let you maybe get a
- 20:29full embrace of him. You're not you're not touching the starter and the backup
- 20:33period you you can actually get cut for swinging your arm at the starter started
- 20:41to drop back, look like and you look like you about to hit his
- 20:45own You might find yourself in the locker room. What are you doing?
- 20:48Or definitely a fight gonna happen with the old line, like what's going on?
- 20:52But Lamar Jackson and his capability is what keeps plays alive for balt Moore
- 21:00And now they move on to host this coming Sunday. Did any of us
- 21:07get to see the game? Yes? Yes, Okay, what do you
- 21:08think about it? Oh? Good game? Like I said, at first,
- 21:11it started out real battle, good battles. Then all of a sudden,
- 21:18you know, you see where the defense made a difference with Baltimore,
- 21:22which is there known for people? You know, we got to know that
- 21:26they've known for that. So and then Lamar, like I said, Lamar,
- 21:29he played a well balanced game. I thought that the like I said,
- 21:33you got to give a shout out to his offensive line because they made
- 21:36I mean they had some holes for that man. I mean he could run.
- 21:41I mean I could have ran through some of them holes that they were
- 21:42producing. This. I see. That's where I've always hated when people like
- 21:48to imagine I could have did that, I could have did that. No,
- 21:52I'm just saying, I mean, that's how good they were blocking this.
- 21:55I mean, just to compliment the line. So by the time you
- 21:56got you the hole, he would have closed with your speed that I'm talking
- 22:00about twenty five year old? Is that? Is that better than the Is
- 22:07that better than the mack truck visual when they hole so you could drive a
- 22:12mack truck through it? Is that? Is that a better? That would
- 22:15work better than running through the whole? Making any kind But one of the
- 22:22things that I thought was interesting was the number of times that mar Jackson got
- 22:26sacked. I have thought that that may be the deciding factor in the Texans
- 22:33doing a lot better than they did in the end. Up until the halftime.
- 22:38There there was a little bit of doubt as to the fact if Baltimore
- 22:42would be able to pull it off. But as you said, tempt start
- 22:45drop. I think that the Ravens settled in a little more and they started
- 22:52displaying some of that what got us here. But at first, uh,
- 22:56just the enthusiasm of the Texans had them on their heels. Some I had
- 23:00never seen Lamar Jackson sacked multiple times in the game, let alone four times.
- 23:06What wasn't in the first half of the game. And that's that.
- 23:08That's that. By week Rust we talked about the other team already moving right,
- 23:15So that's why I said they finally knocked the Rust off in the second
- 23:19half. They blew open the game thirty four to ten. Baltimore will host
- 23:25the AFC Championship Game this weekend. We'll be back with more the NFL and
- 23:30we're still looking for the back producer the spell his words. Yeah, we'll
- 23:37be back with that right after this ball. But Noah long, Rob kim
- 23:41Over main calm, self esteem, make me super superb, the Supreme before
- 23:45a microphone, still out of bed. This was a tage. I wasn't
- 23:48supposed to blink. I was supposed to wait on a small bank John Boy,
- 23:52Wayne Born of the Sports john Shire with Wayne Gambias coming up next.

- 27:33Good morning tell you out there and listening when glad to be here with you.
- 27:37We're gonna get back into the weekends playoff games. But big news coming
- 27:41out of Vegas. Uh thes have decided to make Antonio pierce their head.
- 27:49Coach. I think this was all about continuity and attitude. Antonio Peers bringing
- 27:57in that mentality that the Raiders have always seemed to like to poster about.
- 28:07This kind of rugged outlaw you know, knows piercing tattoo, who needs a
- 28:19helmet when you ride a chopper kind of mentality. That's the Raider way.
- 28:25Yeah, you know that, that's who they are. I'm a I'm a
- 28:27skull tattoo skull tee show a brain surgeon by day, but I am a
- 28:32rebel by night. That's that's the Raider. Wait, if you look at
- 28:37Max Crosby, because that's part of the main story of this of this hirings
- 28:41that Max Crosby endorsed Antonio Pierce, and if you look at him then that
- 28:47he's he looks like everything you just described. Yeah, it's just totally Antonio
- 28:52Peers. He brings that vibe. He was kind of that type of player
- 28:59when he played as well. I think with him what you get is a
- 29:03neutral party. We don't know him to be a coordinator. We've talked several
- 29:10times here on the show about teams sometimes just needing that neutral party at head
- 29:17coach where you're not sitting there trying to be the head coach and the offensive
- 29:22coordinator or the defensive coordinator. You're just there to really like a Mike Tomlin.
- 29:29Even though Mike Tomlin has that in his background, he kind of just
- 29:33coaches the team and he lets his coordinators do the work. So Antonio appears.
- 29:38There's nothing to sit here and be like, well this is a bad
- 29:42hire. Could you have maybe gotten somebody better that already has been there?
- 29:48Sure, but I don't see a negative to be to take away from not
- 29:56giving him an opportunity. He seems to have got the guys and at least
- 30:03how he runs things, and it could be simple as letting the guys come
- 30:07to work high or drunk well, or not require them to take off their
- 30:15ear rings, whatever made them feel like they were gonna play harder. He
- 30:21seems to have that recipe. Well, see he's coming in, as you
- 30:26said, we have said that he's coming in as a head coach. He
- 30:29doesn't have to worry about, like you said, being a coordinator. He's
- 30:33just being that guy. I'm gonna manage this crisis manager situation head coach.
- 30:38If I was him, my first call would be the Byron left Wich is
- 30:42an offensive coordinator, bring him out there, and then d C did get
- 30:49find me a good defensive coordinator? I mean, I don't know. You
- 30:55sound like you knew. I'm just saying I don't know. I like,
- 31:00I don't know. He may he may have something already, may stead with
- 31:03who he has, But what black ones are out there? What black defensive
- 31:07coordinators are out there? And and maybe and I'm not saying that that that
- 31:15some of that isn't see most of the good black DC's are getting hired as
- 31:18head coaches at the moment, So it seems to be that way. But
- 31:23when we think about what it is that resonates with the players, maybe it's
- 31:27not him allowing them to skirt around the rules or somehow come up short on
- 31:34their preparation. Maybe it's that he was part of the system. They see
- 31:38him as one of us. He's he he's young enough to understand being one
- 31:45of us, but he's mature enough to give us some guidance. I think
- 31:51a lot of what I hear some of the younger players and younger fans complaining
- 31:56about with the NFL and sometimes with the college level coaching, is the disconnect
- 32:04in generations. This coach is from a generation that is two or three generations
- 32:09passed in their thinking and their uh the way they prepare and execute. People
- 32:15say that about the Bible, Well, I'm saying, and look at all,
- 32:22and look at all of the changes should change or should you should we
- 32:24swag and surf in church? Or whether you're you're changing to complaicate to your
- 32:30children instead of raising the children the way they need to be raised. I
- 32:35could see this in a lot of way. Antoni appears this could be an
- 32:38economic thing. I don't know how much money they still in need old Josh
- 32:42McDaniel's. I don't know if they're still paying John Gruten. It could have
- 32:45been an economic contract to where he fit the budget of what because I'm firing
- 32:51these coaches, I gotta pay them, and he can't demand and he can't
- 32:54demand top dollar. So I don't know if it was from that way for
- 33:00the Raiders, but I do believe that he was deserving of a chance of
- 33:07the job, and in that situation he already was part of the organization.
- 33:15So the personalities and that he already knows and the connection sometimes is what you
- 33:20want to feed in two. So we will see how he works here in
- 33:23Atlanta, they have had two visits with Bill Belichick. Seems that mister Blank
- 33:30really wants to bring Bill Belichick in. He's had two visits with Jim Harbaugh
- 33:37as well, So one of those two. I don't know whether it's economics
- 33:44or power that it would be. I would imagine what Bill. It would
- 33:47probably be more power. He might not be really happy or willing to work
- 33:53with who's already the GM front note, you know, Richmond k Well Rich
- 34:00Well, Rich doesn't have the title front Note has the title, but Rich
- 34:05makes the calls. No, I'm saying you're saying it right, Yeah,
- 34:10the fun Note is the GM, right, and Rich McKay is the president.
- 34:16Yeah, but Rich McKay makes all the calls in that situation. But
- 34:22Bill Belichick, and I'm quite it's about to me, it's not economics.
- 34:27It's about who is going to be able to make these calls on draft day
- 34:31or personnel or coaching decisions for this team here in Atlanta. Who else have
- 34:38we brought an Aaron Glenn, the decordinator for the Lions, and they're still
- 34:45playing. So the interviewing the offense coordinator Ben Johnson as well, the Lions
- 34:50offensive coordinator, and some of these guys are going around different jobs as well,
- 34:54Yes, and being not just here in Atlanta kind of moving around.
- 34:59The UH is six team still open. The Raiders. The only person has
- 35:04made the only team that's made a choice Raiders and UH Patriots and the Patriots.
- 35:08So we're down the five teams. We man, We've already got the
- 35:14short sleeve hoodies. We working on Bill. We just it's aad make the
- 35:17deal. You think he'd be a fit for it, not just the team
- 35:22but the city of Atlanta. Oh, yes, Bill will fit in.
- 35:24He will. I really believe he will fit in. It's like we talked
- 35:30about the other day, hadn't had a coach that a real coachst Dan Reeves
- 35:35until he said that, really thought about it, all the coaches we've been
- 35:37through. No hold on because I'm not going to be on x or formally
- 35:43known as Twitter with you. I didn't say that. I did not say
- 35:46that the Falcons haven't had a real coach. I said that the Falcons need
- 35:52someone, a validated coach. They've had coaches that they came here to prove
- 35:59that they were here, coaches right, But that's no, No, there's
- 36:04been The last few have been like it's their first head coaching job. Yeah,
- 36:09but I mean I'm talking talking about someone would like just with market here,
- 36:15validate that this is a job, to take it down the road,
- 36:19that that that someone would see and go, you know what, I can
- 36:22go take that they legitimized the position. And I said that for I said
- 36:29that for the Falcons and the Hawks. Yes, the Hawks haven't had a
- 36:34legitimate player come here and the time I've lived in Atlanta, they haven't had
- 36:40one free agent that has come here to let other free agents know it's okay
- 36:49to come here and your teams and your you knew you do need that.
- 36:55Sometimes you need somebody to come is to raise that banner to say, you
- 37:00know, it's the difference between opening Big Kenny opening up for Commandchi Greg or
- 37:07Big Kenny opening up for Eddie Murphy. Right, people see it too.
- 37:13He telling the same jokes. But if Eddie would let you come on,
- 37:19would people come in like, oh okay? The prestige of that is the
- 37:22same thing here. We still haven't gotten a and which aimeount of team that's
- 37:25gone to two Super Bowls in the last twenty years. And the Falcons,
- 37:31but they still don't have that kind of this is the place to come to.
- 37:36Yeah, I want that job. I want that Yeah, it don't
- 37:38seem like when the job opening, candidates are just blowing. And that's why
- 37:43I thought Bill or Jim Harball, either one would be a great connection.
- 37:47Now, Arthur Blank, if you remember with the GM back in in two
- 37:54thousand and six to meet Troff, to meet Troff from he was from the
- 38:01Belichick tree of New England, so that could be why they know each other
- 38:07in some kind of way as well. But we're gonna go to break come
- 38:09back. We're gonna talk about the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, the Bucks,
- 38:15the Lions, and the Packers. Try to quiet upset outside of San
- 38:22Francisco because that stadium is in Santa Clara, which is like fifty miles away

- 42:00Shock, Wayne Gandee four have been hit with charges. Remember the dead longhorn
- 42:10found at the fraternity. This was back Oklahoma State and their game against Texas,
- 42:20right, yes, and someone outside of fraternity at Oklahoma State had thrown
- 42:27a dead longhorn and they have found it was three nineteen year olds and one
- 42:34to twenty year old. They have been charged with misdemeanor unlawful disposal of a
- 42:38carcass. All four have pleaded not guilty. Basically, ain't got me on
- 42:45tape, right, he ain't got me on tape out there. He'll say
- 42:50that they kind of had some tape. They were charged with what misdemeanor unlawful
- 42:54disposable of a carcass? And really, haven't we all in charge? But
- 43:00with that, haven't we? No? I've never I've never never have I
- 43:07never just drove by and through a dead an I'm in a person's yard,
- 43:12just just saw something dead and thought, why don't we wrangle that up on
- 43:19the truck and go leave it it? But just just some good old frat
- 43:23boy fun. What happened to that? And it's really what it is.
- 43:27I was trying to understand the motive behind it. Like this is at Oklahoma
- 43:30State and y'all are playing Texas. Why would y'all, why would this happen
- 43:36at I understand if it happened at Texas, when it happened at Oklahoma's they
- 43:40were farm fraternity pranking another farm fraternity, which which just goes to show you
- 43:49it's lonely on the farm. It is, really You get bored and things
- 43:54take on new meaning. Fun takes on a new form out on the farm
- 44:00tipping. Right, Come on, come, I have done what I thought
- 44:06you. Hold on down, hold on now, you ain't never been arrested,
- 44:08but you've been cal tipping. No, he's from Oklahoma. Cal tipping?
- 44:14Have you been cal tipping? No? Oh, okay, but I
- 44:17just figured he has. Is he from the planes? It's right there.
- 44:21You have to count tip in Oklahoma to get out the fourth grade or something
- 44:23like that. Don't you like to go to middle school? Okay, to
- 44:27go to middle school? You got a cow tip? Yeah. I grew
- 44:30up as the I grew up as the road killed guy. That's way different.
- 44:35I was the one who jump out the car after you hit the possum
- 44:37of the coon or the rabbit crossing the street and put it in the put
- 44:42it in the back just to eat it. Later, yes, Wow,
- 44:49see that's real criminal activity. B Ken, you just ain't on it,
- 44:52you right, you right, that's I thought. That's moving criminal activity.
- 45:00A ski mask on weapon, not a car and just a roadside just get
- 45:05out and hey that's my carcass. Let's eat this. That's amazing. I've
- 45:13lived a sheltered life. I really had. Criminal life is just that that
- 45:17it has made you one dimension, That's what it is. I'm not well
- 45:22rounded at all. But these guys, I wonder in these cases, as
- 45:27I've always said, because very rarely have we ever came on this show,
- 45:32or you even as listeners, even read stories where people just ad meant to
- 45:37guilt, and you wonder if the four of us went out, we thought
- 45:43this was a prank, and we did it, and why wouldn't we just
- 45:46say, yeah, we know, because we made the commitment the lawyer said
- 45:51not to yeah, and that once you once, once the lawyer get involved,
- 45:54nobody said, and then we made the commitment each other. If we
- 45:57get caught, don't no, no, we don't say we didn't have any
- 46:01agreement. Do you think there was any a forethought put into this? What
- 46:08was interesting to me is they did a knee cropsy on the Longhorn and found
- 46:14out that it had died some thirty six hours before the prank was pulled off,
- 46:19so they didn't kill the animal. They found it dead from disease.
- 46:22And it was a lot of other stuff done in the pulling off this prank.
- 46:29And and I don't think they all sat around like, okay on three
- 46:32silence one two, three silent pled guilty when it was four of them.
- 46:40It's four different lawyers. Right when it popped up, somebody was yeah,
- 46:45but somebody says somebody, hey, one lawyer, don't say they go ahead.
- 46:50And they got individual advice, Okay, somebody telling then, so if
- 46:54it's an individual. Kansas City Buffalo last night up into twenty four in this
- 47:00game in which Patrick Mahomes and his time his tenure as a chief, first
- 47:08time he's had to go on a road and play a road playoff games,
- 47:13visiting Josh Allen the Buffalo Bills. It's a good game. He's all were
- 47:17some good games this weekend regardless. However, the score ended up the biggest
- 47:22thing in this game for the Chiefs that stood out. And both of these
- 47:29teams, while you saw more of a team effort, was both were able
- 47:36to run the ball at different points and not just when the quarterback break down.
- 47:43You saw running bags get some meaningful yards. When a lot of times
- 47:47you say run the ball, people think it has to be the old Emmett
- 47:52Smith, Barry Sanders, and today's game, it's being able to run the
- 47:58ball get six eight yards to keep the defense honest, right, so they
- 48:01can't just decide they're going to play you one way. When you look at
- 48:06it, the Chiefs ran for one hundred and forty six yards. The Bills
- 48:10ran for one eighty two in this game, and it was back and forth.
- 48:15The Bills missed the time field goal with Bass it was within range.
- 48:22You could just see the wine. You could visibly see the win just pushing
- 48:30it to the right, and like, ah, that's football. You can't
- 48:35in that situation. Do you feel even though it's really not the kicker,
- 48:38but they had opportunity to score, you feel like we should have just went
- 48:43down to score. It's really I mean, because there's a lot of people
- 48:45mad at the kicker today, but I feel like they shouldn't be mad at
- 48:49the kicker because you had the opportunity. Who's mad at the kick? We'll

- 52:42birthday and didn't remind us. Oh, I forgot myself. No no,
- 52:46you did not, sir, No you did not, sir, No,
- 52:51no, sir. You bought the liquor at eleven forty five. You remember,
- 52:54Wait, no, man, there was a love forty five when you
- 53:01went up bought the liquors eleven forty five, and you let your birthday and
- 53:05you sat here and just let it slid. And then I've never been a
- 53:09big celebrate the birthday person. But giving you a salute don't mean you're right.
- 53:15I should have said, it's well, see, that's that that that's
- 53:19part of I've always been against the hay celebrate me on my birthday thing.
- 53:23Like I've had people like, hey, man, it's my birthday, buy
- 53:27me around of drinks or something like that, and I always think, like,
- 53:30what you know, So I've always been kind of against that. So
- 53:34to say, hey, it's my birthday, shout me out sounds so kind
- 53:37of self serving. It's I'm a little more low key than that. Okay,
- 53:45so you let your birthday slide by, and one gonna tell me,
- 53:49well, testing my memory? Actually no, I wasn't testing your memory,
- 53:54but you are good. Remember you always remember stuff like that. Happy belated
- 54:01birthday to you brother. Thank you, sir, Thank you your fifty seventh.
- 54:06Fifty seventh. That's correct, that's corn. That's what you're moving on
- 54:08up, moving moving on up, moving on up, moving on where I'm
- 54:14really gonna be buying the liquor a little happy birthday, Thank you, sir,
- 54:17Thank you, thank you. Tyler Bass, the place kicker for the
- 54:22Buffalo Bills, says that is his fault. He missed the tying field goal
- 54:28in the game yesterday against Kansas City. He's been surefooted all season long for
- 54:34this team. H And as I said, if you go back and watch
- 54:37the game, he lined it up and about the three yard line, as
- 54:44the ball was going towards the goal, the wind shoved it. I don't
- 54:51know if somebody left the gate open. God had no money on the Chiefs
- 54:54gate. You can literally see the ball just get pushed over. God.
- 54:59Taylor's That's what listen. And do you think that his saying it was his
- 55:05fault is just his trying to take accountability because he felt bad in the moment,
- 55:09or he wants to somehow give the fans something to breathe a sigh of
- 55:15relief because you could clearly see the wind take the ball and just move it.
- 55:21It wasn't like I didn't put enough on it with my leg. It
- 55:25was clearly mother nature intervened. So for him to say that, is that
- 55:30him just trying to fall on the sword for the rest of the troops.
- 55:35What do you attribute that to? I imagine he's just being a man and
- 55:38standing. What makes him good at the kicking field goals, right, is
- 55:43what ownership of when he does not, And as much as he would like
- 55:46walk in there and tell you something about the wind, that's not the way
- 55:52to go. That's not the champions dude, and saying it. I mean,
- 55:55and I'm just explaining it for him because you could see the wind.
- 56:00You could see this is one of This wasn't one of those. He hit
- 56:04it and it was missed. He hit it and it was going right down
- 56:09in the middle, and we pushed the ball completely out of making. And
- 56:15the people in Nassa was like, I got the under. They were the
- 56:22winds, they were in Buffalo wilds. I got the under on this bet.
- 56:30So right now, you know, I'm one of those people. You
- 56:35never let it come down to the kicker if you can help it. And
- 56:38I'm not excusing him, but you it was the wind. It's one thing
- 56:45he kicking and you saw it already going here or he was falling short,
- 56:49but it was eight yards from going in the goal, and the wind just
- 56:53pushed the ball to the right. And even had he made it, that
- 56:57would have only tied. So that would have gave them a fighting chance to
- 57:00go in the overtime, but that doesn't guarantee that they would have still won
- 57:05the game. I think at some point and then Kansas City had decided that
- 57:08they were going to they weren't going to lose. I don't know if they
- 57:14were one committed to believing they were going to win, but they just had
- 57:17decided they weren't going to lose yesterday, and at some point it started to
- 57:23show up on the field. Now I was gonna say, you said leave
- 57:27it in the kicker hand the only reason. And then earlier when we went
- 57:30to break, I said they skip Baylors had said he hate when in the
- 57:34NFL playoff games, when it's decided by the little guys who don't even play
- 57:37that football. That happened to Green Bay. And then we just watched Buffalo's
- 57:42kicker happened to have to do the same thing, so he called him the
- 57:46little guy. Yeah, that's exactly what he verbadim. Well, well,
- 57:52what's your question. No, I'm just saying when I before I was saying
- 57:53earlier, I mean that takes it to the fans. The fans, I
- 57:59really think they shouldn't blame the kicker. I mean, he's been out I
- 58:01know he's got to come out there, he kicks his extra points to the
- 58:05kickoff. But at the end of the game, when you're in that situation,
- 58:08as you say, I just believe you shouldn't just leave it in the
- 58:12kicker's hand. I don't really have a question. I'm just saying, oh,
- 58:14okay, well yeah, because I haven't gotten the feel from watching the
- 58:16game or somebody contacting me or reading or watching anything that somebody's saying that it's
- 58:23bast fault. As Big Kenny alluded to, it was only going to tie
- 58:28the game when you're playing in weather like they're playing in different than the Detroit
- 58:37Green Bay game, which was indoors where I can really hold you accountable to
- 58:42your kicking. I haven't gotten the feel that people are saying that Tyler pass
- 58:46is the reason it was a good game. And the one or two plays
- 58:52that Buffalo did not make. People just seem to always need someone to fall
- 58:59under a sword, and it's like, I didn't look at the game.
- 59:01They just made one or two less plays. I think it. I honestly
- 59:07thought that, uh, the Texans game Baltimore was going to be the game
- 59:14of the week, and then I saw this one and it was like,
- 59:16Wow, that was even better, right down to the wire. We'll be

- 1:00:22forty nine percent actually have life insurance. When I was twenty five, me
- 1:00:25and my wife were just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever
- 1:00:29life insurance. Well, what's the last thing on my mind? What about
- 1:00:31you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills? When I was forty,
- 1:00:35with a kid in college and bills piling up, I was worried how my

- 1:01:52a doing Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you Bill Vegan, Welcome
- 1:01:58back to the Sports Shuck sh This Schuck Wayne Candy. Good morning to you
- 1:02:01out there and listening land. If you missed any of that first hour,
- 1:02:06please go to Apple Podcast, Amazon Podcast, Spotify, Audible, Deezer,
- 1:02:13or iHeart Radio and catch it as soon as we go off of the air.
- 1:02:19We were talking about NFL, which is down down to four teams viable
- 1:02:23to go out to Vegas on February the eleventh and play in the Super Bowl.
- 1:02:31Right now, we've been through the games in Buffalo well, the Chiefs
- 1:02:37moving on to the af C Championship game once again to go into Baltimore taking
- 1:02:44on Lamar Jackson and that defense that has been reinvigorated this season, playing Baltimore
- 1:02:53type defense that is for the AFC. On the other side, we saw
- 1:03:00Bay go and similar to the Texans, as I mentioned with Baltimore having a
- 1:03:07bye week, seemed like it took them a half the wake up. It's
- 1:03:09the same thing with the forty nine ers. They had the bye and in
- 1:03:14the first half it took them a minute to get the cart going. The
- 1:03:19biggest issue in this game was they lost Deebo Samuel early in the game.
- 1:03:24He had only had two catches, left with a shoulder injury. And as
- 1:03:29I have said so many times, with this forty nine er team, I
- 1:03:32don't see them losing when they're completely healthy. Very few teams have four weapons
- 1:03:40to attack you with. Most teams are trying to create three. The forty
- 1:03:45nine ers actually have four weapons, and that's what makes them offensively so dangerous.
- 1:03:51But they had enough with the legs of Christian McCaffrey and that O line
- 1:03:54when they needed to run the ball, got some touchdowns. Running with him
- 1:04:00brought pretty not having a super awesome day, but leading the ship, manning
- 1:04:06the ship, getting the ball to George Kittle. Jordan Love of the Packers,
- 1:04:12doing all he could to keep his team in swing, but he did
- 1:04:16throw for two interceptions, but a good taste for him finally making it to
- 1:04:21the playoffs, getting to the second round twenty four to twenty one. The
- 1:04:28forty nine Ers over the Packers in this game. No surprise there. The
- 1:04:34team that they are going to take on the Detroit Lions. People still seem
- 1:04:41like they are They look at the Lions like the Lions snuck into the playoffs.
- 1:04:46You still feel like that a little bit and they won twelve games.
- 1:04:50Still feel kind of like the Lions outside of somebody opened the back door for
- 1:04:57them. Now we were twelve Detroit. This was just saying time we were
- 1:05:00twelve and five for everybody paying to get in the front, and it's like
- 1:05:04nine of y'all came through the exit door in the back. It feels like
- 1:05:10it just because we were I said it was twelve and five though, yeah,
- 1:05:15but that were you really twelve? Yeah? Literally remember like all the
- 1:05:20other times, like when you weren't the twelve and five and you get this
- 1:05:26feeling, seriously everybody like Lions, like this wasn't no wild car. We
- 1:05:30got in on the last day on a block field goal. It was interesting
- 1:05:35how many times did Buffalo wild Wings call it was interesting if you looked at
- 1:05:43the game yesterday, I think Tampa Bay's something like nine and eight and Detroit
- 1:05:47was what twelve and five, and it still felt like Detroit was the team
- 1:05:53that snuck in like you you were looking at like Tampa Bay seemed more legitimized
- 1:05:58than the Detroit Lion team at twelve and five, and when they won,
- 1:06:02it was still like, wow, the Lions are still like whatever they're doing,
- 1:06:05it's still you know that Buffalo wildwing must be twenty four hours a day,
- 1:06:10thirty one to twenty three. The Lions beating the Bucks. Jared Golf
- 1:06:14throwing for two touchdowns, the interceptions they were able to with Jamar Gibbs effectively
- 1:06:21run the ball, as I said, effectively, that's all. It didn't
- 1:06:26have to be no two hundred yard gained. It means that to keep you
- 1:06:30balanced when I do run the ball, we get four five yards to keep
- 1:06:34you balanced. As a defense in this game, big play by Aman raw
- 1:06:42Saint Brown came up with some big catches on the other side with Mike Evans,
- 1:06:46the big receiver who's now a free agent, but who becomes a free
- 1:06:49agent as well as Baker Mayfield. But it's tough with Mike Evans, what
- 1:06:54do you do with him as a franchise next year. Haven't the year he
- 1:07:01was? Never mister speedster. He's a big target. He's about six y
- 1:07:06five. It was about two thirty five to forty you know, tough catch
- 1:07:12the ball in traffic. I think you throw him a two year deal out
- 1:07:15there for some good money. But you know they didn't. They before the
- 1:07:19season they decided not to re up him. He kind of played on his
- 1:07:24own very worth. He's a Hall of Famer to be for what he's put
- 1:07:28up, but it does catch a lot of teams. Now, what do
- 1:07:30you do with that thirty one thirty two year old receiver. Yeah, but
- 1:07:35he hasn't had too many injuries as through the season. He's had some here
- 1:07:40lately, but he hasn't been that injury prone receiver as other receivers have been
- 1:07:45in there career compared to like a Julio in those eleven ten years and others.
- 1:07:49So if they don't sign him, he would be great for somewhere,
- 1:07:54like even in the NFC South. What is something he's familiar with and somebody
- 1:07:59looking for a quarter back. Baker got a nice little audition tape yesterday.
- 1:08:03He had his little feet move and he was making some really key throws.
- 1:08:10I was proud of Baker yesterday. Yeah, he thought he did well.
- 1:08:13He definitely brought that moxie, Yeah, that he brings. He teeters between
- 1:08:19You could see him as a full time starter as he was this year to
- 1:08:25drive them into the playoffs. He kind of validated what we thought was drafted
- 1:08:32seven eight years ago. Remember in this game, Jared Golf and Baker Mayfield
- 1:08:36were first picks of the draft. Correct, Yes, when they came came
- 1:08:41first. Even when Jared Goff, people keeps forgetting Jared Golf took the Rams
- 1:08:45to the Super Bowl, but he gets referenced like he is some guy that
- 1:08:51they picked up from the USFL on a five day contract and drove that team
- 1:08:59to He took the Rams team, him and Todd Gurley to the super Bowl.
- 1:09:02But when you go to Detroit, narrative on that was that Sean McVay
- 1:09:08was. It was like Sean McVay was the quarterback. He didn't get out
- 1:09:11of there and throw anything. I ain't I just see McVeigh. I seen
- 1:09:15they play at Maris, but I ain't see him play for the Rams.
- 1:09:21It was just a they were McVeigh was getting so much credits, like he
- 1:09:26was telling like, okay, this where you go with the ball. He's
- 1:09:28telling them that in the radio while he's going up to the line like giving
- 1:09:32him all this, and and Golf is playing like that like he's got something
- 1:09:38to prove, like I can't believe you traded me away, like you you
- 1:09:42keep on treating me like I'm brand new with this. And he's playing like
- 1:09:45he just said, like, ain't nobody talking to about ear right now?
- 1:09:47I'm playing football. Yeah, Jared Golf makes it. This makes for a
- 1:09:53delightful game next Sunday, the Lions going to San Francisco. They have enough
- 1:10:01to beat the forty nine Ers, especially if Deebo Samuels. I don't know
- 1:10:06how if they were just kept him out because precautionary, but how hurt is
- 1:10:15Deebo Samuel? But the Lions with the four teams left, any four could
- 1:10:21be in the super Bowl. This is not one of those where oh it's
- 1:10:26some lucky charm. The Lions are capable offensively and defensively. They've shown you
- 1:10:32that all season long. The forty nine Ers, we know what they have.
- 1:10:36The Ravens, they could go out play physical with the Chiefs and now
- 1:10:45see them in Vegas with the Chiefs. They seem to still be having the
- 1:10:48lucky rabbit's foot some kind of way. It is Swift and sports jock more
- 1:10:55than you as a sports fan, have commented on the amount of Taylor Swift
- 1:11:01references that they have when the Chiefs are playing. But remember we've always talked
- 1:11:06about how now sport has been morphed into entertainment and for the people who generally
- 1:11:13wouldn't be watching, they need something to keep them engaged, and that's what
- 1:11:17the networks love to do. They love putting some celebrity court side or in
- 1:11:25a booth at a football game, and they keep flashing to them. Some
- 1:11:29of these people we've never heard of. But this generation of music listeners knows
- 1:11:33when they point to somebody and go, it's the with their new hot song,
- 1:11:39and I've never heard of the song or the artists, but they keep
- 1:11:42on bringing it out. I wanted to say with that the lines of forty
- 1:11:45nine ers game, it's going to be who to me. Both of them
- 1:11:48got great offensive lines, and it comes down to who runs to protect the
- 1:11:54football the best as far as because both teams that old line is the best
- 1:11:59right now out that's left out there to me. And if you watch them
- 1:12:01yesterday, the holes that they were creating and how they were pushing the ball
- 1:12:05down field, that's that. Like you say, the Lions have a great
- 1:12:10opportunity depending on if Debo gets out there, and two great running games too.
- 1:12:15Yeah. Well, and it works for the NFL from the standpoint that
- 1:12:18any four of these teams, a lot of times you're trying to figure out
- 1:12:23which narrative to drive first of all, in the big landscape of them,
- 1:12:30all of them are small market teams to a degree. The forty nine ers
- 1:12:35just happened to be the most successful small market teams. The small market team.
- 1:12:42And in small market, I'm not talking about that the market is small
- 1:12:45based on the right. I'm just saying of who are the fans of those
- 1:12:50teams. Typically the Lions fan is from Michigan, you know, and from
- 1:13:00the Upper from even the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. All the stories other Michigan
- 1:13:06is Chicago fan. All the storylines work. Whether it's the Lions going against
- 1:13:14the Chiefs of Baltimore for to try to win their first Super Bowl, first
- 1:13:17time they would have ever been to a Super Bowl, it will be a
- 1:13:20line that works, the forty nine er that works, the chief storyline.
- 1:13:26All the stories work this year. Yeah, you don't have to create it.
- 1:13:30Don't have to create them. Whoever is broadcasting it, broadcasting the Super
- 1:13:35Bowl, they want they want Taylor Swift. You know that because when Usher,
- 1:13:43Because when Usher's performing, they want to flash up to her and she's
- 1:13:45going to be dancing off key and off Reddy's time after Wit Swift, the
- 1:13:54crowd. I made it easy to chance to this can what's next from the

- 1:16:45George Seaffert speaking of the forty nine Ers who won Super Bowls with the forty
- 1:16:49nine Ers as the head coach in eighty nine and ninety four, George Seaford
- 1:16:55took over at the Bill Walsh is eighty four years of a Greg Odham,
- 1:17:01the Big Center who's basically his career got sidelined with injuries, so much potential,
- 1:17:08but just could not overcome and we talk out injuries. I'm talking about
- 1:17:14three or four surgeries per knee for Greg Odham. So as much as you
- 1:17:19know some guys, you want to put an old label on the bus side,
- 1:17:21I don't know. All I know is about every six months they was
- 1:17:25cutting in his knee. By the time he was twenty four to twenty five,
- 1:17:30he couldn't even jump. He was on minute restrictions. But he's thirty
- 1:17:34six years old. Jason Peter's longtime NFL old lineman. Probably make it to

- 1:17:57Book? What would it be called? That's a good question. That's a
- 1:18:03good question. Ray Rice. Nothing to see here, there's no book,
- 1:18:10no book, Okay, Ray Rice. They bring him back recently to Baltimore.
- 1:18:14They just recognized him man this past season. Maybe thirty seven years old.
- 1:18:19Dylan Brooks of the Houston Rockets, twenty eight. DJ Jazzy Jeff is
- 1:18:24fifty nine. Diane Lane, the actress, is fifty nine. It's well
- 1:18:30Guy Fieri is fifty six. Gena Davis. It's so funny, like when
- 1:18:35I go through names, Hollywood music, everything in life is just you have
- 1:18:42it sometimes because remember you couldn't get enough Diane Lane. Yeah, there's about
- 1:18:45ten twelve to fifteen movies in a row. And then and same with Geena
- 1:18:49Davis. You have that one window where it was like three or four years
- 1:18:55of just Jenny Davis Davis every day she's sixty eight years of age. Is
- 1:19:00that is that? No? Has she aged out? No? Cuckle Billy
- 1:19:09Oshan is seventy four, Hakeen the Dream Oaijia one is sixty one. And
- 1:19:15Caitlin Clark who served up Ohio State forty five points yesterday and a lossol was
- 1:19:23Caitlyn and Clark like she just got tired there at the end. Io's biggest
- 1:19:28problem is the same thing they had last year when they play LSU. It's
- 1:19:33size. They just don't have any interior size. They can run, they
- 1:19:41can shoot all that, they can fast break, but any team like Ohio
- 1:19:45State or LSU did Angel Reese has that big kind of old school wide body
- 1:19:53down load. They don't have no one to check. Because I watched the
- 1:19:57game in as much as Caitlyn did, they still lost it. I was
- 1:20:01like, you know that, you got to fix that. Anytime somebody serves
- 1:20:05forty five points and you still lose that George Gervin, And that's the thing
- 1:20:11with college. Your team is your team for that season. Yeah, it's
- 1:20:15not like pros where I can go trade to get me somebody for that.
- 1:20:20Whenever, your college team is your college team. So either somebody's injured or
- 1:20:26this is it. And the only thing it was that same weakness that LSU
- 1:20:30explored it where they don't have a big person. There's no fear of you
- 1:20:34taking the ball down in the paint, right, there's some kind of six
- 1:20:40six figure down there that's gonna stop you. But Kate Clark doing all she

- 1:22:34let out at one am. That's and all of those things are consideration.
- 1:22:39I know in the city of Atlanta, public transportation stops running at midnight.
- 1:22:45So there's that part of it, and depending on what part of the city
- 1:22:50you live in, the ride sharing becomes that much more expensive because of the
- 1:22:57distance that you have to travel. But also even if events like if an
- 1:23:00event is going on, there is an additional like it shoots up the price
- 1:23:04of that ride because of the traffic in that area. Yes, and a
- 1:23:08lot of times I've left one or two concerts in the last year or too
- 1:23:12early too, because comedic concerts. If I spoke on if I've laughed for
- 1:23:19two hours, I don't need to see the main guy. I can go
- 1:23:21home now. I'm tired. And if you start your concert late and I
- 1:23:27feel like, oh, you're gonna leave at twelve and you're only gonna get
- 1:23:31out here at eleven twenty five, then I'm going home too. I don't
- 1:23:38know why people are doing concerts, feel like they don't oh the audience any
- 1:23:44courtesy. And as a performing artist, that is one of the things that
- 1:23:48my mentor instilled in me, and just as personal just morals of my own.

- 1:26:45the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. Whatever way back to this What Shock
- 1:27:14Show, This What Shock Wing KND The Great Sports Illustrated comans You Greg mc
- 1:27:20Kenny Bad producer. The magazine has laid off a whole bunch of employee.
- 1:27:29They started on Friday laying employees off. Some of what we are getting is
- 1:27:36the Arena Group, which publishes Sports Illustrated, recently missed a three point seventy
- 1:27:43five million dollar payment to Sports Illustrated's license holder, Authentic and Authentic basically severed
- 1:27:56the deal in this case. Got no time to be playing with y'all.
- 1:28:01My money, money, man, money, you know what, Just don't
- 1:28:09worry about it. Just just scrap the whole project. So they are starting
- 1:28:14to lay off employees. I don't know, I don't have a number,
- 1:28:17but it says massive. Yeah, like seventy five to ninety percent of their
- 1:28:26staff is gone. So does that mean the next publication is going to come
- 1:28:30out or that mean the people who get a refund they're in what they call
- 1:28:36restructuring and hoping to do more online stuff as opposed to the actual physical print.
- 1:28:47Now, there was some reports over the last couple of weeks of some
- 1:28:51AI writing of some of the stories and Sports Illustrated as well. Correct.
- 1:29:00Yeah, there were AI written articles with fake author names. They even had
- 1:29:05if you could go to the website and see this author's profile fake with the
- 1:29:12headshot and everything. Well that's what y'all like that CG what is it called
- 1:29:17for? The movies for like Marvel line CEE c GI yeah, CGI,
- 1:29:23that kind of stuff that this has crossed over too much fish. They even
- 1:29:31had a bio for the one writer Drew has spent much of his life outdoors,
- 1:29:36incited the guide through Never Ending List, the best Producers to keep you
- 1:29:40from falling, Block through Nature, and on and on. He had a
- 1:29:44great bios. All of them got bios and everything. To come to find
- 1:29:46out they were all he doesn't exist. He well, well, writers make
- 1:29:51up fake names, right, yeah, what they call but that that's a
- 1:29:57real person. That's yeah, that's not my your name. But I'm saying
- 1:30:00it takes I have to come up with that. It takes genius to lie
- 1:30:06that. Well, but you you got a robot line for you. That's
- 1:30:10not that's not cool. I had to program the robot. But why couldn't
- 1:30:15it just be you? What's what's wrong with your old lies? Yeah?
- 1:30:18Why can't we just deal with the old line? You? We got to
- 1:30:21do a new, technologically advanced lie. And then you know they have did
- 1:30:26a couple people already did some of the best because Sports Illustrators were known for
- 1:30:29the covers, so they already saying what are some of the best covers they
- 1:30:32had and different things already because they're basically saying R I P. To Sports
- 1:30:35Illustrated. Yeah, it's pretty much out okay as we knew it. We
- 1:30:42will see how Sports Illustrated bounce back from this. Maybe they have the the
- 1:30:47AI swim suit issue, swim suit issue, and all they want to we
- 1:30:53air brush everything. Come on, there's nothing real real about anything we like
- 1:30:58to concern. You know. We we absorbed a whole bunch of things shaped
- 1:31:04and colored for our particular taste. Yeah, and you spoke about We had
- 1:31:11spoke last week about the George Carlin special that was AI generated, and his
- 1:31:15daughter has said that their family is moving to make sure that no other AI
- 1:31:21outlets touched her father's works. And someone who watched the special said, unlike
- 1:31:27George Carlin, this was not funny. So you would think with all that
- 1:31:32technology, at least it would be funny. They said, this was not
- 1:31:35funny at all. You've Donnas Haslam had his jersey retired on Friday. Mainly
- 1:31:43I know this because they played the Hawks, and the Hawks without their star
- 1:31:49player Trey Young, who on Saturday suffered a concussion but on Friday just missed
- 1:31:58the game. Down in mind ammy but Dona's haslam. His jersey was retired
- 1:32:04for the Heat, the only team that he played for in those twenty years.
- 1:32:11Command Shee greg is having an issue with the Heat retiring that number forty
- 1:32:18jersey? Tell him why, you mad Son? I have no issue.
- 1:32:23Oh, I thought you said you had an issue with have an issue.
- 1:32:25It's Paul Pierce with the issue. Paul Pierce. It's your man Young'll from
- 1:32:32the mid Yeah, y'all that he went to college there in California. That's
- 1:32:39different, same thing. But what was Paul Pierce, the Great Celtic upset
- 1:32:44with with your Dona's haslam. Well, when it was posted on social media,
- 1:32:48Steven Jackson sent out a congratulations saying it was earned, not given,
- 1:32:55because he was there for, you know, for twenty years, and then
- 1:32:57Paul Pierce responded, no, it was given. As far as him having
- 1:33:00his number retired, there's a lot of people have their criticism of him being
- 1:33:11on the roster for so long, especially the post Lebron era. Where he
- 1:33:18didn't play as much, and probably the last four or five years he may
- 1:33:23have played four or five games. And but for what he meant, I
- 1:33:30think the number was retired. As far as for what he meant to the
- 1:33:32team and mentoring the younger players, you don't have a lot of that in
- 1:33:36the NBA anymore, where someone over the age of thirty could even stay on
- 1:33:43the roster and even if they're not have a if they're not in the rotation,
- 1:33:47they're still on the team to be a mentor to younger players. You
- 1:33:50don't have a lot of that. So that's what he meant to the organization.
- 1:33:54So do you retire his jersey? Meet pertinally, Yes, yes,
- 1:33:59Big Kenny, Yes, twenty years. Come on, man, it's like
- 1:34:02sad producer. No, and I would say no. Ere Donna's haslim average
- 1:34:12seven points and six rebounds in his career. He never made an All Star
- 1:34:16team, he never had a triple double, he never signed anything close to
- 1:34:21a max contract. He never won Player of the Week award. But he
- 1:34:29played twenty years. The last six I don't know that he's ever been on
- 1:34:34the court. Wait now, wait now, but he was? Did he?
- 1:34:38He only average uniform listen, listen, listen. At my at my
- 1:34:44unit, we had old Gunny and Gunny hadn't been the war since about sixties,
- 1:34:48but we still gave him credit for being a hard charging, hard nose
- 1:34:56marine. I just feel like, when you take your water down, what
- 1:35:00is the value of the jerseys up there? And he wasn't rambowing and in
- 1:35:08his sixth what he meant to that particular organization, No, as far as
- 1:35:15like what like they that's how they valued him, is why they retire the
- 1:35:18number. It's not it's not a requirement across the board to have your number
- 1:35:24retire. I get you a parking spot and a plaque out front, and
- 1:35:28they valued him. You can't you can't tell me. You can't tell me
- 1:35:33what my love one's supposed to mean to me. That that's what I'm saying.
- 1:35:38I don't think this was a him getting into the NBA Hall of Fame.
- 1:35:43I don't think this was him being elected to the top twelve NBA players
- 1:35:48of all times. This was the team that he played for his entire career.
- 1:35:55Said you mean so much to us that we're gonna not let that,
- 1:36:00We're not gonna let anybody else wear this number. That's what it meant.
- 1:36:02I think they showed him that by keeping him on the team as well.
- 1:36:06I'm saying, that's a lot of love. And wasn't he the one that
- 1:36:10was just complaining about the retiring of the of the jerseys? He was the
- 1:36:15main one we're complaining about that. But Miami putting on somebody else's jersey up
- 1:36:21in the arena not retiring his number, doesn't that make the keeping him all
- 1:36:25of those years seem feudile? I mean, there had to be something about
- 1:36:29this man for him not to even get on the court for the last six
- 1:36:30years and us keep signing him to a contract, even the minimum NBA contracts
- 1:36:35are millions of dollars, So for us to believe that much in him and
- 1:36:40then he do that tenure with us and we not retire his jersey sort of
- 1:36:45what seemed like we were just what what was all of this about? If
- 1:36:50we didn't have that faith and belief in so we're going to it. Let's
- 1:36:55get everybody like he was just keeping a spy and locker room. Oh I
- 1:37:01never thought that, pat Riley for the last seven years, I'm okay,
- 1:37:05if you retired his number and in that twenty years he was actually consistently playing
- 1:37:14so dark. Novinski spent twenty years with Dallas, Kobe spent twenty years with
- 1:37:17the Lakers. But those guys, even as they age, they still put
- 1:37:21in time on the court. You were you were not even using you Donna's
- 1:37:28hazm even in any kind of backup role. He wouldn't go in when the
- 1:37:32blowout these last couple of years. Now, the jerseys that you have retired
- 1:37:39up there is Dwayne Wade, Tim Hardaway, Shoul Kille, O'Neill, Alonzo
- 1:37:44Morning, and Chris Bosh. And now you put your Donna's Haslam up there.
- 1:37:50You know, once the king decided to put his shoes up, you
- 1:37:53got to put him up there. So to me, and it's no get
- 1:38:00u d We can put a platte. We can name the weight room your
- 1:38:02Donna's Haslam, Miami Heat weight Room. We can the cafeteria, we can
- 1:38:08stamp your name in here, as as the face. Yes, but the
- 1:38:14raptors would have been And that's what I'm saying, even if you were just
- 1:38:17getting some run right in the in the in the game, I'm not even
- 1:38:23talking about no effective like you gotta be right, but they I can't remember
- 1:38:28really, maybe once or twice a year he was even getting on the court.
- 1:38:31Over the last seven years he was pat Riley's all right, resident the
- 1:38:36system. We'll be back with more of the Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:38:41It could be done, but the only y'all can do it. For
- 1:38:43those that can dance it clock hands to win. I start to think and

- 1:41:51a lock on. Say you don't can see the sports jaint, I'll sing
- 1:41:57even very jarny, welcome back to this wy shock sham this what shock Wayne
- 1:42:02again. D If you haven't watched the S and L little spoof about Club
- 1:42:10Shah, uh, it is worth four minutes of your life. SNL this
- 1:42:15past weekend did a little skit with Shannon Sharp and Kat Williams uh and that
- 1:42:24interview they talked about. It was about two weeks ago they had that interview.
- 1:42:31Uh. Well, SNL decided the weigh in and it was very comedic
- 1:42:36how they portrayed Kat and Shannon and Club Shay Shaukat Williams. I mean whether
- 1:42:45whoever that was a plan? Said, Uh, I invented, I invented
- 1:42:49language straight from the bottle. It was. It was a funny, like
- 1:42:58the actual interview is like almost three hours, and they start off with the
- 1:43:03like if someone searched on YouTube, it said eight hours, the interview is
- 1:43:09eight hours long, and how people like clicked on it. So it made
- 1:43:15it funny. And you know, Dave Chappelle has come out weighed in on
- 1:43:20it as well, really calling Cat Williams out to try to understand what the
- 1:43:30attack was about while you're attacking those comedians. So I've never seen one interview
- 1:43:36explode in away on from the comedic level that this one has especially being Cat
- 1:43:45Williams. Mike Helpson came out said Cat had said everything he's been wanting to
- 1:43:49say. So, you know, it's a lot of people on both sides,
- 1:43:54So on the comedic sides from the comedians. Well, I'll ask you
- 1:43:57this because it happens in sports too, with somebody like Lamar Jackson, right,
- 1:44:02or even you're a good buddy, Cam Newton. It's like you get
- 1:44:08to do it your way, and your way might not get applause. You
- 1:44:12might even have success, but it doesn't get you applause. And then the
- 1:44:16other person does it the other way and they get applause, but then you
- 1:44:19mad because you don't get the applause. Why is that? Can any of
- 1:44:27you tell me that? Am I explaining that? Right? Like you want
- 1:44:32to be the Maverick right now? You or the you know, the Joker
- 1:44:40is just as famous as Batman. Yeah, correct, but the Joker is
- 1:44:46not embraced, correct, Kat Williams, Mike Epps. Okay, you didn't
- 1:44:54want to play the game. These guys wanted to play the game. They
- 1:44:59were willing to play the game, and then you upset or you want to
- 1:45:02snitch on them for playing the game. Why is that how people function.
- 1:45:10Hopefully I'm explaining. I don't understand why people are that way. I'm not
- 1:45:15that way. So I've always kind of felt like you play the hand that
- 1:45:20you're dealt, and either you can fold or you can keep doubling down.
- 1:45:26And so I've always been amazed, especially with comedy being my discipline, and
- 1:45:34how people will sit around and complain, Oh, man, only reason he
- 1:45:39sell out them crowds is because he stopped cursing. Well, I mean,
- 1:45:45you know, I thought our purpose was to sell out. I thought what
- 1:45:48we were trying to do in this was be successful. And then people give
- 1:45:53all of the reasons why they're not successful, and they talk about what they're
- 1:45:56not willing to do in an effort to attain success, and it just it
- 1:46:00seems a little bit like maybe you're making excuses after a certain point in the
- 1:46:05game, Like if those are your morals and standards from the beginning, I
- 1:46:11understand that, but for you to get to a certain point and then go,
- 1:46:15nah, they just didn't like me because I kept it real well,
- 1:46:18you know. And then very few of us are there every night to see
- 1:46:24the crowds either response. There's always if you you and the bab producer.
- 1:46:30You take you decided to cut your hair and give them more of the corporate
- 1:46:36look to get more endorsements, and he didn't. He decided, Hey,
- 1:46:43I'm gonna be I'm keeping it real well, he corn rolls. Then how
- 1:46:49does he get to be mad at you because you did something wrong just because
- 1:46:56he chose to do it his way. He sees it as some kind of
- 1:47:00compromise. And like seeing that interview, throughout it was like Kat was valuing
- 1:47:10his integrity and how he's doing it his way and not having to make these
- 1:47:16questionable decisions like these guys have made. But but he but the same table
- 1:47:23decisions have led to some success that he doesn't necessarily have. He's doing it
- 1:47:28his own way, but it's just not at the level of these other guys.
- 1:47:31And that's my point is you're doing it your way leads to one path
- 1:47:36them, but that doesn't make them wrong for choosing their way. And that's
- 1:47:42how Kat comes out, That's how people come out like you were wrong.
- 1:47:45You want to do it well. I was gonna want to kidney with Chappelle
- 1:47:48coming out because originally he didn't come out and say something, but over the
- 1:47:53weeks there had been some things popped up where he did some skits early on
- 1:47:58with Coward Stern back and he was dressed as a woman, and so those
- 1:48:03things. Is he now trying to come at cat now to save face or
- 1:48:09what? That's what I wanted to ask you, Kenny, as a for
- 1:48:12him to come out. I haven't confirmed that those were that. That was
- 1:48:17Dave Chappelle and the skits. I have seen some stuff, but it didn't
- 1:48:21really look like him. But they say it was years ago. But what's
- 1:48:25even with that? Martin Lawrence been in a dress, Eddie Murphy's been in
- 1:48:29a dress, a lot of hot Jip Wilson been in a dress. Tom
- 1:48:31Hanks was in a dress, and Robin Williams in a dress. These people
- 1:48:39are in dresses. What is I don't understand what everybody keeps talking about.
- 1:48:43The people want to laugh about a man in a dress. I give you
- 1:48:46fifty million dollars for it. You don't want to do it, but he
- 1:48:51wants to do it. But the argument, I'll see you Tuesday at six
- 1:48:56am for filming. But the argument is that you could get a woman that
- 1:48:59could do the same thing. It's just as funny. They can play that
- 1:49:00same part. Their argument, you can give her that fifty many then having
- 1:49:04a man dressed as a woman, Well, I'm saying, and the argument
- 1:49:11could be you could get anybody you wanted to hire for your project. You
- 1:49:16decided to get a male actor, that male actor accepted the role. He
- 1:49:23should be free to do that. Because remember, at the end of the
- 1:49:26day, it's acting, which is pretend. But so many people try and
- 1:49:34attach their political beliefs and religious morals and standards with their art, which I
- 1:49:43always tell people, you gotta be careful. If you're going to draw the
- 1:49:45line, you gotta draw the line early. We'll be back more to Sports

- 1:52:09And now back to the Sports John Wayne Gandy, it's time to put
- 1:52:15a school board when we put a spin on life and sports and how they
- 1:52:20intermingle. On The Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. Don't swept the technique.
- 1:52:43Don't swept the technique. Let's taste that check. What about the Sportshock
- 1:52:56Show? The Sports Shock Wayne Gandy Pillow five, r G three J Gruen
- 1:53:01having a pillow fight from what the bad producer brought to me this morning.
- 1:53:08J Gruton having beef with r G three. It all started off of I
- 1:53:14guess Jay Gruten saying that Kirk Cousins was a better quarterback. He said no.
- 1:53:20He made a statement that It's a shame that Philly is allowing Jalen Hurts
- 1:53:29to be out there during the It was during the Bucks Eagles game game.
- 1:53:31Yeah, he if I put anything, if I put a quarterback through what
- 1:53:36who is saying this? J is saying? If I put any if I
- 1:53:43put a quarterback through what Philly is putting Jalen Hurts through. I apologize,
- 1:53:47someone pick up the blitz because he's getting hit a lot. R G three
- 1:53:51responded with, uh, say what, say what? And he posted a
- 1:53:57picture lasses like what are you serious? Writ now? And then Jay Gruden
- 1:54:01responded, were you not prepared? Robert? And then Robert Griffin responded with
- 1:54:06you said you didn't know how to coach a quarterback who could run and throw
- 1:54:11like me, So Jay, you're the one who wasn't prepared. And then
- 1:54:15Jay grud responded with you just weren't good enough, or Kirk was better.
- 1:54:19Cleveland didn't want you, Baltimore didn't either, so don't blame me. And
- 1:54:27he actually said you weren't prepared, Robert. He didn't say he actually told
- 1:54:30him you weren't prepared. Okay, So pillow fighting going on between and Jay
- 1:54:39Gruden and RG three Stop Stop RG three, who is on the commentating side
- 1:54:49now taking at the jive. The thirty three year old who was the first
- 1:54:54pick of the draft when he came out of second was he first second second
- 1:54:58pick of the draft. Andrew Luck career just never took off a lot of
- 1:55:05especially on the pro level, A lot of those coordinators and coaches and still
- 1:55:11today is trying to learn how to coach the what we call dual threat quarterback.
- 1:55:21RG three not one of the first. I mean, we can go
- 1:55:26all the way back from Fran Targeting to Randall Cunningham. It was guys that
- 1:55:30was before Cordell Stewart. Which part of the quarterback and sometimes how entrenched is
- 1:55:40the running part When people talk about Lamar Jackson, Lamar Jackson to me is
- 1:55:47finally and it could be age, it could be the contract. He's finally
- 1:55:50settled. But he seems like he's just getting to the quarterback part now and
- 1:55:57you can see it a little more where he looks like he knows what he's
- 1:56:00doing. He's not using running to bail himself out. He looks like he's
- 1:56:05running because y'all avoided a lane, right, not because I didn't know where
- 1:56:11to go with the ball, which is two different things. He used to
- 1:56:15look like he was running because I don't know where my second read is.
- 1:56:18Now I'm running because the right defensive tackle got out of his lane, and
- 1:56:24now I'm about to punish you with this four to two speed go ahead,
- 1:56:28sir. Well, do you think it was the offense too, because with
- 1:56:32Mayasha is with like Greg Roman's offense was friendly to a running quarterback. You
- 1:56:39had that with Colin Kaepernick to Rod Taylor and then with those that MVP year
- 1:56:45with Lamar Jackson, he was the offensive coordinator and it's that kind of offense
- 1:56:50is friendly to a quarterback that can run. But now with the new offensive
- 1:56:55coordinator there, he can. He still runs something, but it's not so
- 1:57:00many design runs, so he's not running as much because he's not being asked
- 1:57:04to do that so much. Well, it's a function of now you know
- 1:57:08more what to do throwing the ball. Everybody wants to put this year's Lamar
- 1:57:15Jackson five years ago. Well, the coordinator five years ago had the maturity
- 1:57:23of this Lamar Jackson, he would have done that. But Lamar Jackson,
- 1:57:29I knew, might not have been able to do the other things. Maybe
- 1:57:32he was more seventy percent run at that time in thirty percent pass. Now
- 1:57:41he's he's seventy percent pass and thirty percent run. It's not always the same
- 1:57:47guy, That's what I'm saying. It's a progression of him. He's always
- 1:57:51had a brilliant arm and conflict the ball, you do all that, But
- 1:57:55thats what I'm saying. Sometimes it's in trench that his first reaction, I
- 1:58:00brought you out, I tried to run it. I see that when you
- 1:58:03don't see your first guy, you like to run. Now he seems like
- 1:58:09he actually knows where he's gonna throw the ball, and I will run just
- 1:58:14to hurt you. And that's the development of him. Some guys never get
- 1:58:19to that point. They never can break that habit. Lamar Jackson saying it
- 1:58:26could be the security of the contract, that kind of thing that puts it
- 1:58:34to bed. But when people say receivers, there's no need to go get
- 1:58:40you fifty million dollars worth of receivers if you don't know how to find them,
- 1:58:45that's true, but nobody ever added that in Oh, he just needs
- 1:58:48some more receiver. Yeah, yeah, once he learns how to find him,
- 1:58:53then we'll go get him. But the ain't no need of having him
- 1:58:55here, and you don't know how to find them. It all works together,
- 1:59:00you grow. It might be a good run blocker and a terrible pass
- 1:59:05blocker. You have to work on something to get on. But the complete
- 1:59:09story of a quarterback is not always there. For Lamar Jackson r G three,
- 1:59:15I don't know if it was Andrey or he just didn't get it.
- 1:59:17Chicken in the job. I mean because he asked Sean McVay and I guess
- 1:59:20he wasn't in his headphones. That's not even related. Okay, this want
- 1:59:27to make sure who is you saying, Oh, he's back to that Sean
- 1:59:30McVay thing. I'm just saying. I'm just saying that they say that John
- 1:59:32McVay was in Jared's golf's ears a c L. He should Jared trying to
- 1:59:41stick Sean McVay thing. You know, I ain't seen the place. Marrison
- 1:59:45is Sean mcmay, Sean mcdimm McVay, McVeigh. The one is the Bills
- 1:59:49coach. Okay, but but he was the court office coordinator when r G
- 1:59:55three was at Washington. I'm just saying, since he's in Greg had made
- 1:59:59a statement earlier that he was in Golf's headphones and that's why Golf was playing.
- 2:00:02And I'm just saying he should have been in the head said RG three
- 2:00:05now two. Well, that would have made Sean McVay about twenty five.
- 2:00:10Yeah, so he wouldn't have known much either. So you're the Sean McVay
- 2:00:15you got hadn't even gotten to that point yet. He had learned to see
- 2:00:19the bad producer doesn't He doesn't get that part. He thinks all in product
- 2:00:28is always there. He'll look up progression after the show. The fifty seven
- 2:00:32year old Big Kenny is patient and kind. The thirty two year old would
- 2:00:38have been on robbed us. I wouldn't even have let him come over twice.
- 2:00:42No, he would have robbed us. He always scheming at thirty two
- 2:00:45two now two times how to hit y'all at least like come back and get
- 2:00:48the insurance payoff money and we are you know. The truth is he will
- 2:00:56throw your in the ocean. It's time to wrap things up on the Sports
- 2:01:00Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. When you decide the option to gives this voice
- 2:02:00Tessa minute to Vin would like to thank you for tuning in to today's show.
