- 0:21Speaker 2: that what's going on? Nice?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Nice? That's fun.
- 0:24Speaker 2: My friend Cam just got a gold tooth and I
- 0:27Speaker 2: was giving him a hard time and then I was like, damn,
- 0:29Speaker 2: I think I want one.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you gotta get one, dude.
- 0:32Speaker 2: They can get a gold tooth. I have a camera
- 0:35Speaker 2: on one of my I had a root canol. I've
- 0:36Speaker 2: got a cap out one of them. I think I'm
- 0:38Speaker 2: gonna swap it out for a gold tooth.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Do it? Do it?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's silky.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I got one of m back here somewhere. It's just
- 0:45Speaker 1: that little like, I don't know, that little pirate thing
- 0:48Speaker 1: starts to happen.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Get I know, it's just a little little out casting.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, So what's cracking? Brother?
- 0:55Speaker 1: How you doing? I'm good man, I'm uh. I'm stoked
- 1:00Speaker 1: to be here.
- 1:01Speaker 2: See you stoked?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Does yeah? Man? I shit, I wish I was staying
- 1:05Speaker 1: longer now, but uh, We'll make the best.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Of How long are you staying? Helloe you in town for.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm leaving after right after this, after you wayheaded back home. LA.
- 1:18Speaker 1: My son is getting married.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Oh congratulations, thanks, thanks, which is such a trip, dude.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You know, like he's twenty nine and he's getting married,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and I'm just I've been kind of tripping out on that, Like, dude,
- 1:34Speaker 1: where the fuck did that time a go? Right? And
- 1:38Speaker 1: like I'm so fucking happy for him that he's been
- 1:45Speaker 1: seeing the squirrel for seven years. I'm so proud that
- 1:49Speaker 1: he did exactly the opposite of his dad, you know
- 1:53Speaker 1: what I mean, Like he knows and they're like they've
- 1:56Speaker 1: been basically they've been married, you know, and they're just
- 2:01Speaker 1: making it official now, and I'm just so happy for him,
- 2:04Speaker 1: like I'm and I tell them all the time, like
- 2:06Speaker 1: so happy for you, dude, Like you you know, you
- 2:10Speaker 1: you use some patience and some love and like mix
- 2:14Speaker 1: it all around and put some time in there, and
- 2:17Speaker 1: you know, shit's like your your survival rate is gonna
- 2:21Speaker 1: be way better, way better, And then that makes me
- 2:24Speaker 1: really happy.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And your happiness rate, I think if you're a kid
- 2:28Speaker 2: and your dad is Tommy late and you you've a
- 2:31Speaker 2: fucking crazy, chaotic life. He's probably like, slow down, give
- 2:34Speaker 2: me a fucking yard and a picking fence and WHOA,
- 2:37Speaker 2: totally totally that's why, like and.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You know, and you know, in the drift of everything, Yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm really surprised and I'm really happy he just like
- 2:46Speaker 1: pumped the brakes.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Like make sure that what he's doing is the real shit.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, especially in LA with a rock star dad,
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's like there's so many bad influences. There's so many
- 2:58Speaker 2: ways you could go where you could just ruin your
- 3:01Speaker 2: fucking life. It's so easy to ruin your life if
- 3:04Speaker 2: you're in the wrong circles. Dude, so easy, right, because
- 3:08Speaker 2: everybody else is doing it too. You're like, hey, I
- 3:10Speaker 2: guess we're doing meth fucking just I mean, I know
- 3:16Speaker 2: people that are good people that have fallen down that
- 3:19Speaker 2: rabbit hole, and they're not bad people. They're not even stupid, man,
- 3:23Speaker 2: they just made a bad decision for whatever reason. And
- 3:28Speaker 2: then next thing you know, they're all strung out. And
- 3:31Speaker 2: it's like La is the hub of that. There's so
- 3:34Speaker 2: much of that going on in La.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, And if you have any sort of that sort
- 3:40Speaker 1: of shit magnet attached to you. Yeah, you know, the
- 3:44Speaker 1: shady friends and the most circles you just kind of
- 3:48Speaker 1: have too, and all of a sudden, you're just fucking hell.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I mean, I don't live in the rock and roll world,
- 3:55Speaker 2: but I think that's probably the most attractive to like
- 3:59Speaker 2: crazy people. Like that world. That is the world where
- 4:02Speaker 2: if you're a fucking kook, like you gravitate towards that world.
- 4:05Speaker 2: You know, it's probably so hard to find like sane,
- 4:10Speaker 2: balanced people that yeah you know, yeah, they're shit together.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It's like it's almost impossible. So like you're just comparing
- 4:18Speaker 2: yourself to the other chaotic people you're.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Around, and you're the fucking drummer and motley crue. I mean,
- 4:24Speaker 3: you're supposed to be normal. What the fuck are you
- 4:26Speaker 3: talking about? What kind of life is that? That's such
- 4:29Speaker 3: a bizarre life. It's the craziest life of all time.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You're fucking slamming the drums on stage in front of
- 4:36Speaker 3: literally a say of human beings singing along to your music.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah nobody can understand that.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh no man, Yeah they've and yeah they've seen it all.
- 4:47Speaker 1: They've seen it all. Like I put him to work
- 4:49Speaker 1: out on tour, you know, just so you know, we
- 4:53Speaker 1: could hang out and spend time. You're like, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 1: get them a radio. All of a sudden, they're are.
- 5:00Speaker 1: One of my sons is part of the lighting crew
- 5:02Speaker 1: helping those guys. My other son is like all he's worth,
- 5:05Speaker 1: all he wants to know about is like, Dad, I
- 5:09Speaker 1: want to be in charge of all the after show passes.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'll go out while you're playing and I'm gonna hit
- 5:14Speaker 1: all the chicks and like my son is out there,
- 5:18Speaker 1: just just stack of passes, come on back afterwards, come
- 5:22Speaker 1: on back then watching him like have just just running
- 5:28Speaker 1: it right.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's just like brings the true to my eye.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Man.
- 5:35Speaker 2: That's cool. That's very cool when you look back, like
- 5:38Speaker 2: how much of a dream does it feel? I mean,
- 5:40Speaker 2: it's got to feel very bizarre that you you know,
- 5:45Speaker 2: every young guy who plays music wants to be in
- 5:48Speaker 2: a gigantic band. They all want to be rock stars.
- 5:50Speaker 2: And when it actually happens for you and then you're
- 5:52Speaker 2: looking back on it, like how fucking surreal does it
- 5:55Speaker 2: all feel?
- 5:56Speaker 1: It's dude, I pinch myself still daily, literally and I'm
- 6:03Speaker 1: I'm just fucking I don't know, man, I'm just lucky
- 6:06Speaker 1: to be here. I'm lucky I get to do this.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I always say to people like, there's a couple of
- 6:13Speaker 1: things that are involved with that whole thing. There's some luck,
- 6:18Speaker 1: some talent timing of things when those things kind of
- 6:24Speaker 1: all line up and it happens for you, And it
- 6:28Speaker 1: just happens at fucking supersonic speeds where like a lot
- 6:33Speaker 1: of it's a fucking blur, like a ton of it's
- 6:36Speaker 1: a blur where you have to have somebody else like
- 6:39Speaker 1: remind you. You're like, oh shit, that's right. I totally
- 6:41Speaker 1: forgot we did that, you know, like about crazy times. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's a trip, dude. I spend a lot of time
- 6:49Speaker 1: like hanging on right, what the fuck here we go?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Did you get a chance like when you're coming up
- 6:58Speaker 2: to talk to any other rockstar, does anybody give you
- 7:00Speaker 2: advice on how to handle things like what it's how
- 7:03Speaker 2: weird it's going to be?
- 7:04Speaker 1: No, I'm trying to think of any sort of a
- 7:08Speaker 1: mentor kind of dude on like how to survive the
- 7:11Speaker 1: shit like no.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Pull Keith Richards aside and say hey man, how about
- 7:16Speaker 2: a few tips? How did you do this? I'm still here, bro,
- 7:20Speaker 2: I saw them at CODA at the Circuit of the
- 7:23Speaker 2: America's a couple of years back. They were fucking incredible, man,
- 7:26Speaker 2: incredible insane. They're like, what is how old is Keith?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Dude?
- 7:31Speaker 2: Are they like eighty?
- 7:32Speaker 1: He's got to be.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Mick is like eighty, bro, Mick is moving around and dancing,
- 7:37Speaker 2: is singing insane insane dude.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And I'll let me tell you a fun quick little
- 7:43Speaker 1: story here. Motley Crue gets to open up for the
- 7:48Speaker 1: Rolling Stones. This was on Halloween. I forget what fucking year,
- 7:53Speaker 1: at some stadium and I think it was Toronto and
- 7:56Speaker 1: we got to open for them, and we're so fucking pumped.
- 7:59Speaker 1: We're like, are you kidding me? We'll get the fucking
- 8:03Speaker 1: do this anyway. We play, We play our show back
- 8:08Speaker 1: in the dressing room. After we're done, the Stones tour
- 8:13Speaker 1: manager comes into the dressing room and goes call me.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, he goes, He goes MC and
- 8:21Speaker 1: Ronnie Keith Wild like to see you, and I was like, Brad,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I fucking head over there, and dude, this is twenty
- 8:32Speaker 1: minutes before they're to go on. I go into their
- 8:36Speaker 1: their world and they got they bring a bartender around
- 8:39Speaker 1: with them. So there's a guy set up just sling
- 8:43Speaker 1: and fucking drinks. Uh, Mick isn't hammered, but fucking Keith
- 8:48Speaker 1: and Ronnie dude, they were fucking walking on their lips.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I'm talking shitty like he fucking right, just falling over
- 8:59Speaker 1: with their guitars.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Twenty minutes before they go on stage.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm like, how are these guys gonna fuck it? There's
- 9:06Speaker 1: no way they're playing. I'm sorry, there's no way, no
- 9:10Speaker 1: fucking way. And all of a sudden, we took a
- 9:13Speaker 1: couple of photos and it was like, let's go to
- 9:15Speaker 1: the stage and I'm like, oh, I gotta see this.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm walking with them, right they get up there, fucking
- 9:21Speaker 1: lights go out, boom they fucking I think they started
- 9:24Speaker 1: with start me Up Up bun uh forgotten, and it
- 9:31Speaker 1: was like a switch flipped. All of a sudden, those
- 9:35Speaker 1: guys were fucking money, like fucking rocking out. I was like,
- 9:41Speaker 1: how did they just go? They've been doing it for
- 9:43Speaker 1: so long that they just did. They're masters of the controls.
- 9:47Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, okay, I guess we can get this
- 9:51Speaker 1: amount of fucked up and then we can go like
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's okay.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think some guys just was a crazy level like
- 9:57Speaker 2: I was.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I saw you could barely talk and then they went
- 10:00Speaker 1: up there and fucking breked it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I saw that some guys just want to be fucked
- 10:06Speaker 2: up to just feel the experience, just to just ride
- 10:09Speaker 2: it like a wild bowl, you know. Just Yeah, that's
- 10:13Speaker 2: what some guys like to do it. I mean, and
- 10:15Speaker 2: rock I don't have to tell you. Rock and roll
- 10:17Speaker 2: music is the heart of that. That's where it really
- 10:20Speaker 2: goes down, where a lot of guys like to get
- 10:22Speaker 2: fucked up before they play. Yeah, you know you want
- 10:24Speaker 2: to see something fucking inspirational, I'm gonna show you something crazy.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Always this is uh, have you seen Jamie? Have you
- 10:32Speaker 2: seen Rick Springfield lately? I did just see him and
- 10:37Speaker 2: I was like, whoa, I'm gonna send you a video
- 10:39Speaker 2: and it's gonna blow you away. This is literally bananas.
- 10:43Speaker 2: This is Rick Springfield if he's fucking like seventy six
- 10:47Speaker 2: years old, okay.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Seventy six, seventy.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Six and he's singing Jesse's Girl like he just wrote.
- 10:54Speaker 1: It and he's fu.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, play started, put the headphones on, Put the headphones on,
- 11:00Speaker 2: backed us up from the beginning. Whoa, Well, I just
- 11:05Speaker 2: sent it to you on Instagram.
- 11:06Speaker 1: He's rip, I.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Click on the other link then the one that I
- 11:10Speaker 2: send you on Instagram because you can't. First of all,
- 11:15Speaker 2: he looks fucking incredible, like he's working out every day
- 11:19Speaker 2: or something. I mean, I don't even understand it. He
- 11:20Speaker 2: looks like a thirty year old guy, and he's singing
- 11:23Speaker 2: the song like he just wrote it.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Bro seventy six, you don't feels so dirty when it
- 11:41Speaker 4: start talking cute?
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, that's crazy.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Fuck amazing, man, amazing, that's fucking inspirational.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Inspiration, Bro seventy six years old, and the passion and
- 12:09Speaker 2: enthusiasm is what kills me. This is not a guy
- 12:12Speaker 2: who's like just going out there and going through the motions.
- 12:15Speaker 2: He's singing that song he just wrote it. Yeah, totally
- 12:18Speaker 2: fuck yeah, Rick Springfield, Yeah, good job bro. Yeah that's amazing.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I've been sending that to everybody. I'm like, fuck, yeah
- 12:26Speaker 2: that is I saw that.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I saw that clip and I was like, WHOA a
- 12:29Speaker 1: lot of people.
- 12:30Speaker 2: In their seventy six are basically waiting to die. This
- 12:33Speaker 2: dude's on stage with no shirt on, fucking crushing life.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Dude. I love it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I love it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: That's gonna that's gonna be me still ten years yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 1: oh yeah, rocking shit. Well.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I remember in the eighties there were no old rock stars, Like,
- 12:48Speaker 2: no one was out there touring that was an old
- 12:51Speaker 2: rock star, right, And then The Stones released a new
- 12:55Speaker 2: album I think it was like eighty eight or eighty
- 12:57Speaker 2: eighty nine, and everybody's like, Wow, they're gonna tour again.
- 13:01Speaker 2: It was almost like aren't they done with this? Like
- 13:03Speaker 2: they're older now. And then it started being a thing
- 13:07Speaker 2: where a bunch of older guys would like go out
- 13:10Speaker 2: on tour that hadn't been on tour in a while,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and now it's not, and people like, why are we retiring?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Like why why would I stop doing the most amazing
- 13:18Speaker 2: thing that a human being ever gets to do?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah that you love to do? Yeah, no, let me
- 13:22Speaker 1: stop doing that.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It was like a thing with hip hop artists too.
- 13:27Speaker 2: They would get to an older age and people just
- 13:29Speaker 2: didn't appreciate them anymore. It's like it was like a
- 13:32Speaker 2: young guys game, but now a lot of those older
- 13:34Speaker 2: guys are going on tour too, and people wereize like, oh,
- 13:36Speaker 2: these guys are fucking dope, Like I saw it run
- 13:39Speaker 2: DMC went on or excuse me, Public Enemy went on
- 13:43Speaker 2: with I think it was I think it was Bruce Springsteen.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I think Bruce Springsteen had them go up in one
- 13:49Speaker 2: of his concerts. I'm like, fuck, yeah, look at these dudes.
- 13:51Speaker 2: They're killing it. They're still getting after it.
- 13:54Speaker 1: That's the best, man. You gotta love that. And I
- 13:58Speaker 1: think that research, I don't know if you call it
- 14:01Speaker 1: a resurgence or just that that style of like there's
- 14:05Speaker 1: certain things that were that were really great that you know,
- 14:10Speaker 1: stood the test of time. And I and I really
- 14:13Speaker 1: think that the way shit is now, man, there is
- 14:19Speaker 1: too fucking much, Like there's too much music, Like Spotify
- 14:24Speaker 1: releases like three hundred fucking thousand songs a day.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Really, who the fuck.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Is listening to all this music? Dude, I'm in the business,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and if I can't keep up, how can a fan
- 14:36Speaker 1: of music keep up? So I just I think that
- 14:39Speaker 1: the the the excess of it's just static and it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: really blown a hole through for you know, original stuff,
- 14:52Speaker 1: you know, really good stuff, because a lot of this
- 14:55Speaker 1: stuff is all kind of sounding the same now. But
- 14:59Speaker 1: I just I think think that it's it's been a
- 15:03Speaker 1: cool progression, that's that sort of fueled that. I don't
- 15:09Speaker 1: know if I'm making sense. I'm kind of you.
- 15:11Speaker 2: No, you're making sense, you know what I'm trying to say.
- 15:13Speaker 1: There's so much static now that the.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Sort of the something has to be undeniable to break through.
- 15:21Speaker 1: The authentic step still fucking pulls water, yeah, big time.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And you know, well, there's always like one song that
- 15:29Speaker 2: all of a sudden resonates and just goes super viral
- 15:32Speaker 2: because people listen to a holy shit. Yeah, there's always
- 15:36Speaker 2: going to be something that's exceptional. But I do agree
- 15:39Speaker 2: it's impossible. There's a lot of great music that I
- 15:41Speaker 2: don't know anything about, and then someone turns me onto it,
- 15:43Speaker 2: and I'm like, how the fuck did I not know
- 15:45Speaker 2: this guy?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah? And had your friend ye not turned you
- 15:49Speaker 1: onto that? You what? You never fucking know?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Well, there's no real radio anymore, no, right, so how
- 15:56Speaker 2: do you find out? When I was a kid, when
- 15:58Speaker 2: I was in high school, Like with a new Motley
- 16:01Speaker 2: Crue Kit song came out, it was on the fucking radio.
- 16:04Speaker 2: You knew, all right, the new albums out, let's go
- 16:06Speaker 2: get the new album. And that was with every major band.
- 16:09Speaker 2: It was like then you got MTV, MTV came along.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Oh the music videos out, the album's out. But now
- 16:16Speaker 2: it's like anyone can just put stuff up, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 2: which is great, which it's also it's cool. Look, it's
- 16:24Speaker 2: it's all overall positive because you have more artists and
- 16:27Speaker 2: more people that are doing what they want to do,
- 16:29Speaker 2: more people that are making music, which is awesome. But like,
- 16:33Speaker 2: it's the same thing with movies. Can imagine you had
- 16:35Speaker 2: to watch every movie ever made. You have to be
- 16:37Speaker 2: a million years old. We never finished exactly, it's not
- 16:41Speaker 2: enough hours.
- 16:42Speaker 1: In the day. It's the same. It's the same musically,
- 16:46Speaker 1: what's happening musically, it's happening with everything entertainment, films, television shows.
- 16:53Speaker 1: There was an abundance of like it's just too much.
- 16:58Speaker 1: How how do people I mean people got these you know,
- 17:02Speaker 1: uh you know, uh, you know TV packages where they've
- 17:07Speaker 1: got subscriptions four thousand different places and you still can't
- 17:12Speaker 1: find anything to watch, Like, what the what the fuck
- 17:15Speaker 1: is happening here? Everybody? We got to like feel it
- 17:19Speaker 1: back a little bit, make it a little easier here.
- 17:21Speaker 1: There's so many many options.
- 17:22Speaker 2: It's almost like dating apps, right, like if someone if
- 17:26Speaker 2: some chick is chewing her food, with their mouth up
- 17:28Speaker 2: being like swipey, who's next? Yeah, Like people get they
- 17:31Speaker 2: don't get a chance to know anybody. And I think
- 17:33Speaker 2: that's also the same thing with movies and TV shows,
- 17:36Speaker 2: because if you're watching Netflix, if you get bored for
- 17:38Speaker 2: three seconds, you're like, fuck this movie? What else is on?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Bit bit bit? You know, Okay, try this one and
- 17:43Speaker 2: you watch that for ten minutes, not fuck this. I
- 17:45Speaker 2: would like to see their numbers of like how long
- 17:48Speaker 2: people actually watch a show or a movie on Netflix
- 17:51Speaker 2: before they shut it off. I bet it's way different
- 17:53Speaker 2: than in the past. I bet in the old days,
- 17:55Speaker 2: most people watch the movie to the end.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Sure.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I bet now it's like, oh dude, if.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'll be yeah, I'm just gonna say a little bit
- 18:04Speaker 1: more if that.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody, it's short attention span life right now. It's
- 18:08Speaker 2: very very bad for you. Yeah, sometimes you got to
- 18:11Speaker 2: just take something in.
- 18:12Speaker 1: And that and that affects the people who create the
- 18:15Speaker 1: stuff because you're you realize, I'm dealing with a bunch
- 18:20Speaker 1: of fucking six year olds here, and if my ship
- 18:23Speaker 1: isn't banging within the first whether it's a movie or
- 18:27Speaker 1: a song or whatever it is, whatever your art is,
- 18:32Speaker 1: if it's not fucking ripping your face off and grabbing
- 18:35Speaker 1: your attention within three or four seconds, you're you're next, next,
- 18:41Speaker 1: exactly when that's just the world we're in. So that
- 18:43Speaker 1: then that affects people who make the stuff because they
- 18:48Speaker 1: they really got to put the best ship up front
- 18:51Speaker 1: quick or else you're gonna lose everybody. And that's that sucks. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: that sucks.
- 18:57Speaker 2: They don't have to give into that.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Nobody's got time for for suspense or yeah, you know,
- 19:02Speaker 1: ah fucked out.

- 20:14Speaker 2: Well, think about some of the songs from the past
- 20:16Speaker 2: that would never pass Muster today that are just amazing classics,
- 20:19Speaker 2: like whold lot of Love, So a whole lot of love.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You have a minute and a half fuck sounds with
- 20:25Speaker 2: symbols before it comes back to this insane guitar solo.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah right, yeah, you're right.
- 20:34Speaker 2: It's like the most bizarre song.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Ever yeah, kind of drum solo, we kind of yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And classically Freebird. When Leonard Skinnard released Freebird, they're like, no, no, no,
- 20:45Speaker 2: this song takes way too long to get going. It's
- 20:49Speaker 2: so long. It's like a seven minute song. You gotta
- 20:51Speaker 2: this is never gonna fly. Meanwhile, it's one of the
- 20:54Speaker 2: greatest anthems in the history of the world, and perhaps
- 20:57Speaker 2: the greatest guitar solo in the history of the fucking
- 20:59Speaker 2: human right right, you know, pre Bird, when that dude
- 21:03Speaker 2: gets going and you see it live and everybody's the
- 21:06Speaker 2: whole fucking place is going off. Greats guitar solos in
- 21:10Speaker 2: the history of the fucking human race. And their record
- 21:13Speaker 2: company was like, it's too long. People don't have any
- 21:16Speaker 2: attention spen for this, guys.
- 21:17Speaker 1: God, even back then people were fucking hating.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Well, it's always the people that are the money people,
- 21:23Speaker 2: because all they give a fuck about is money, and
- 21:25Speaker 2: you're in the creative side of it, and the money
- 21:28Speaker 2: people are just pimping out the creative side of it,
- 21:30Speaker 2: and they're just trying to get you to suck as
- 21:32Speaker 2: many dicks as they can because they want to buy
- 21:35Speaker 2: a rolls rights come on, suck that dick, let's go.
- 21:39Speaker 2: And they don't give a fuck about you or your
- 21:41Speaker 2: reputation because then they got fucking nickelback over here and
- 21:44Speaker 2: this guy over there, and there's always a new band
- 21:46Speaker 2: they can push and pimp, and so they just want
- 21:49Speaker 2: to make the maximum amount of money possible. So they
- 21:51Speaker 2: always have shitty advice because they advice. Their advice is
- 21:54Speaker 2: based on making money.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And for that and for that reason, when
- 22:00Speaker 1: we were on Electro Records, they were never allowed in
- 22:05Speaker 1: the studio, no one from the label that's ever. We
- 22:08Speaker 1: allowed them once and he came in and started making
- 22:11Speaker 1: like making changes or suggesting edits and stuff. Were like
- 22:16Speaker 1: out out, yeah, you'll get it when it's done here.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Oh god, so gross.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, here's some guy making those kind of calls
- 22:27Speaker 1: who has no not a musician, has no idea about
- 22:31Speaker 1: what key the fucking songs in. All he knows is
- 22:34Speaker 1: it's too long, yeah, and we got to get to
- 22:37Speaker 1: it quickly.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Well, it's these people that have ego for no real reason.
- 22:43Speaker 2: They're just kind of they're just involved with other great
- 22:46Speaker 2: creative people and that's what they sell. That's their businesses
- 22:49Speaker 2: to sell stuff that's awesome, and somehow or another they
- 22:52Speaker 2: think it makes them awesome.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very weird.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Like you know, Zach Bryan, He's got a great song
- 22:59Speaker 2: called I Think It's Damn Cold Vampires or Cold Damn Vampires.
- 23:03Speaker 2: It's a great fucking song.
- 23:04Speaker 1: About fucking tongue twister.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It's a great fucking song. It's about the music industry,
- 23:08Speaker 2: and it's about these vampires that are just just sucking
- 23:14Speaker 2: blood out of these artists. And was a great song.
- 23:17Speaker 2: The great line of the song trying to make an
- 23:19Speaker 2: empire of the things that you create. They're making an
- 23:24Speaker 2: empire from other people's work. That's what they're doing. But
- 23:27Speaker 2: they somehow or another think that they're responsible and that
- 23:30Speaker 2: they have an insight and they're I'm good at my job,
- 23:34Speaker 2: Tommy Lee. And let me tell you something, kid, I
- 23:36Speaker 2: know music. And that drum solo fourteen seconds too long.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you why. I'm gonna show you these statistics.
- 23:43Speaker 6: So yes, we've got a guy. We got the best guy,
- 23:46Speaker 6: the best statistics guy. He knows when people are and
- 23:49Speaker 6: when they get to this fucking part of the drum solo,
- 23:51Speaker 6: they tune out. Tommy, we got to stop them from
- 23:54Speaker 6: tuning out because I want to get a knus egg.
- 23:57Speaker 6: I want to get one of them fucking two million
- 23:59Speaker 6: dollar cars.
- 24:01Speaker 2: These cunts, they're just there. They exist in every every
- 24:05Speaker 2: walk of life where one person is like, you know,
- 24:08Speaker 2: the creative type that's not business oriented, and you need
- 24:10Speaker 2: a business person. Yes, So the business people come in
- 24:13Speaker 2: because they someone's got to sell it. You're not gonna
- 24:15Speaker 2: sell it, Yeah, what are you gonna do. You're gonna
- 24:16Speaker 2: make your own record company. You got to hire your
- 24:18Speaker 2: own executives and to do your own promotion. Get the
- 24:20Speaker 2: fuck out of here, you can't. So they come along
- 24:24Speaker 2: and they get involved, and they fuck it all up. Yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 2: and how many guys and ruined their careers because they
- 24:30Speaker 2: listened to them? Oh man, you know the Billy Squire story.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So Billy remind me because I think.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Billy Squire was the ship. When I was in high school.
- 24:42Speaker 2: He had that song Lonely is the Night.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love Billy Squire.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Dude, the stroke. He was fantastic, And he did one
- 24:51Speaker 2: music video where it was like very effeminate. It was
- 24:55Speaker 2: like really weird.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Oh was it when it was he's in his pajamas
- 24:59Speaker 1: or something.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Really weird and everybody was like nope, yeah, what is
- 25:03Speaker 2: he doing?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it was.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Really weird, And to this day, I don't know if
- 25:07Speaker 2: that was his idea or somebody else's idea. They just
- 25:10Speaker 2: took a wild chance. I don't know, Pray to god
- 25:14Speaker 2: it was his idea because the least like he's creative,
- 25:17Speaker 2: made a creative decision, didn't work out whatever. Yeah, but
- 25:21Speaker 2: if someone tanked his career because they wanted him to
- 25:25Speaker 2: act feminine in a song, it was like very The
- 25:30Speaker 2: reaction was crazy because this guy was like a sex symbol.
- 25:35Speaker 2: He was like, you know, his shirt down to his
- 25:37Speaker 2: you know, open up down to his pants. He was
- 25:40Speaker 2: a bad motherfucker on stage sing his ass off. He's
- 25:43Speaker 2: a star. One music video thanked him.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I think it was my kind of Lover. I think
- 25:49Speaker 1: that was the song where.
- 25:51Speaker 2: See if you can find what the video was. This
- 25:53Speaker 2: is it?
- 25:54Speaker 7: A documentary someone made on the Facebook about it, about
- 25:58Speaker 7: this whole thing, this this is it?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's it was very weird, like.
- 26:03Speaker 1: What song is it? Can you hear? I will have
- 26:07Speaker 1: to cut it up.
- 26:09Speaker 2: So it was somebody else's ideas that that guy with
- 26:11Speaker 2: the face, that guy with the faces looks like the
- 26:14Speaker 2: guy looks like they would tell you, yeah, he's crawling
- 26:18Speaker 2: around on his knees and his hands at his knees.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It was weird. It was very weird.
- 26:24Speaker 1: What song was this?
- 26:26Speaker 2: You know, like if he was like like, look at this,
- 26:29Speaker 2: look at him skipping around, and it was very odd.
- 26:32Speaker 2: That guy that seems like the type of guy that
- 26:34Speaker 2: would give you the.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Battle device something me tonight. It's the name of the
- 26:37Speaker 1: song I want to Fuck. I don't know, familiar with
- 26:41Speaker 1: that title.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, but I know, yeah, I get
- 26:44Speaker 2: that was it. And everybody's like, nope, yeah, that's a rap.
- 26:49Speaker 2: And that guy should have had like fucking fifty giant albums.
- 26:53Speaker 2: That guy was amazing. Yeah, such an incredible singer. Man,
- 26:57Speaker 2: So rock Me Tonight nineteen eighty four. Oh yeah, we'll
- 27:05Speaker 2: cut that part up. But you can see him dancing
- 27:07Speaker 2: around like look at this. Don't do that, buddy, what
- 27:11Speaker 2: is this He's.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Like, yeah, yeah, we need you on the ground, swarming around.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Hopefully hopefully it was his idea, yeah, and he was
- 27:20Speaker 2: just my god, if this was somebody else's idea, like
- 27:22Speaker 2: I want you to be looser, I want you to
- 27:24Speaker 2: be looser. I want you to be.
- 27:25Speaker 1: More, more free.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I want you to I want to be like I
- 27:28Speaker 2: want to feel it. I want to feel I want
- 27:31Speaker 2: to feel your vulnerable side. I want you on your
- 27:34Speaker 2: hands and knees. I want you crawling, just what I
- 27:37Speaker 2: want you to do. I want you to like this, like
- 27:39Speaker 2: you barely can crawl, Like you're having a hard time crawling.
- 27:42Speaker 2: That's what girl's like. Girls like a guy who struggles
- 27:45Speaker 2: to crawl.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yes, dude, Oh my god, did you do it? Oh
- 27:52Speaker 1: my god, what did you do to him? I hope
- 27:56Speaker 1: it was his idea.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Despite its major success, the song is sometimes associated with
- 27:59Speaker 2: the end of his career as a singles musician due
- 28:02Speaker 2: to the music video, which is described as one of
- 28:04Speaker 2: the worst ever in a twenty eleven book, I Want
- 28:07Speaker 2: My MTV. The uncensored story of the music video Revolution,
- 28:13Speaker 2: show Squire dancing around to bed with pastel colored satin
- 28:17Speaker 2: sheets and wearing a pink tank top. Squire's concert ticket
- 28:20Speaker 2: sales immediately declined, and he later fired his managers. He
- 28:25Speaker 2: has accused Ortega of deceiving him and altering his original concept,
- 28:28Speaker 2: which Ortega denies. While Squire remained steadfast, the video was
- 28:32Speaker 2: solely responsible for the initial decline of his popularity. Other
- 28:36Speaker 2: commentators are less certain. Well, I'm pretty certain I remember it.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I remember it. I remember kids in high school going,
- 28:42Speaker 2: what the fuck, bro, what the fuck is Billy Squire doing? Bro,
- 28:46Speaker 2: that's just gay, bro. As Billy Squire was the man,
- 28:49Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, he could have been another John Mellencamp.
- 28:53Speaker 2: He could have gone on forever for sure. Like what
- 28:57Speaker 2: the fuck dude? Eighty four one song, one music video.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Insane. That is really crazy if you think about it.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, nuts, it's nuts. Well, that's the craziest thing about
- 29:10Speaker 2: we think about, like the success of Motley Crue and
- 29:13Speaker 2: bands like from your era, the fact that you guys
- 29:16Speaker 2: endured for so long, like still to this day. Bro,
- 29:20Speaker 2: If I'm working out in the gym and Kickstart my
- 29:22Speaker 2: Heart comes on, I swear to god, I get stronger.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Fuck like you get pumped. Man. That's that song is
- 29:34Speaker 2: a drug.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that one. Man. I can't tell you how fun,
- 29:39Speaker 1: how rewarding that is to like sit back and like,
- 29:44Speaker 1: I don't know, the Super Bowls on and the kick.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Off Yude, we gotta cut it out, but I want
- 29:50Speaker 2: to hear it. Throw Kickstart my Heart on we'll cut it.
- 29:53Speaker 2: We have to cut it out for youtubee. We'll get
- 29:56Speaker 2: docked with the fucking money people come involved. Meanwhile, we're
- 30:00Speaker 2: just promoting music, goddamn it with Tommy Lee. Motherfucker right,
- 30:04Speaker 2: but this is here, this fucking song was this live?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Don't even a live one, Give me the actual one.
- 30:11Speaker 2: That was one of the most American songs it's ever.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Been made ever.
- 30:16Speaker 2: That song is fuel. You know that that song is
- 30:20Speaker 2: fucking fuel. If you were running in a race and
- 30:21Speaker 2: you're thinking about quitting and that song comes on your headphones,
- 30:23Speaker 2: you're like, let's fucking go, fucking go. You know, like
- 30:29Speaker 2: songs like that, they really do give you energy there.
- 30:32Speaker 2: They really are like a drug.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they're they're definitely they're injected.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, like changes your state. You know, I love that one.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Isn't that fucking wild? The power that music has, Like
- 30:46Speaker 1: the right kind of song. You know, everybody's different, but
- 30:49Speaker 1: there's nothing better than like they fuck like I get goosebumps. Bro.
- 30:55Speaker 1: If something comes along that just and it gets inside you, Yeah,
- 31:00Speaker 1: it's fucking infectious and all of a sudden, you're like, dude,
- 31:02Speaker 1: it's taking over my whole body. I'm fucking tingling. Yeah,
- 31:07Speaker 1: hair standing up and you're like, what is that? Yeah?
- 31:11Speaker 1: What the fuck is that? Like, I want to fucking
- 31:14Speaker 1: bottle that up and try to recreate whatever that is.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's just an encapsulation of emotion with sound
- 31:22Speaker 2: frequencies that just changes your physical state. It does something
- 31:26Speaker 2: to you that's like, it's one of the most amazing
- 31:29Speaker 2: creations that human beings have ever done. One of the
- 31:33Speaker 2: most amazing accomplishments that human beings have ever done is
- 31:36Speaker 2: that just make incredible music, because it's one of the
- 31:39Speaker 2: things that it affects us in a way that they're
- 31:42Speaker 2: like nothing else, and you can hear them over and
- 31:44Speaker 2: over and over and over again. Like a great joke
- 31:47Speaker 2: is awesome the first time, but after you hear it
- 31:50Speaker 2: the second time, it loses a little of its power.
- 31:51Speaker 2: The third time it gets a little boring. A great
- 31:55Speaker 2: song I could listen to that. How Sometimes that I'm
- 31:57Speaker 2: working out, I just put something on repeat. I'm like,
- 32:00Speaker 2: I just want to hear this song, one song over
- 32:01Speaker 2: and over where that fuck are up? But I don't care.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It's so good. I don't give a fuck. I just
- 32:07Speaker 2: want to feel. Let's let fucking go and every time
- 32:09Speaker 2: it comes back on, fuck and we're back. You know,
- 32:14Speaker 2: it's like it's it changes the frequency of your actual soul. Yes,
- 32:19Speaker 2: your body gets moved by it. You feel different you.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I want to ask you a question because you're into
- 32:26Speaker 1: all this fucking crazy shit. I saw somewhere recently, and
- 32:32Speaker 1: this just goes along with that feeling you for feeling
- 32:35Speaker 1: you get when the right notes are frequencies that hit you.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I saw that through sound, certain frequencies like some dude
- 32:47Speaker 1: in China, some doctor in China or is it Japan?
- 32:52Speaker 1: Has is this close to healing fucking cancer through through
- 32:58Speaker 1: sound through frequency? Real? Have you? Now? Have you heard
- 33:02Speaker 1: that seen any of those?
- 33:03Speaker 2: I haven't seen it, but I wouldn't be surprised.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't either, because you know, I'm just fascinates me
- 33:10Speaker 1: because there is those frequencies out there that you know
- 33:14Speaker 1: about them four thirty two, four hundred and thirty two herts.
- 33:16Speaker 1: You've you heard about.
- 33:17Speaker 2: That stuff explained to people?
- 33:19Speaker 1: So well, It's just there's some weird what do you
- 33:26Speaker 1: call it, conspiracy theories about originally our music like Bach
- 33:32Speaker 1: Beethoven back in those days was tuned to four hundred
- 33:37Speaker 1: and thirty two herts. And this is the conspiracy bullshit
- 33:45Speaker 1: part about it. At some point and people say Hitler
- 33:49Speaker 1: changed the tuning, the pitch of music, and now everything
- 33:56Speaker 1: was raised to four hundred and forty instead of you know,
- 34:02Speaker 1: four thirty two instead of four thirty two. Now it's
- 34:06Speaker 1: four forty. It's it's up and it's and the frequency
- 34:10Speaker 1: is more aggressive. And it was said that it was
- 34:13Speaker 1: done to give the soldiers more fucking you know, angst
- 34:18Speaker 1: and crank this music.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Well, they were also given a myth. Excuse me, they're
- 34:22Speaker 2: also given the math.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Between meth and kickstart my Heart.
- 34:27Speaker 2: To start my heart, it's been a real problem, dude, No,
- 34:31Speaker 2: no kicks out my heart in German.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, that would have been a real problem. Yeah.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I'm just curious because I know that you're into that
- 34:38Speaker 1: kind of stuff. If the any sound therapy or healing
- 34:43Speaker 1: through through frequencies, if you've heard any of.
- 34:46Speaker 2: That, well, I know people do sound baths where you know,
- 34:49Speaker 2: they'll do these meditation experiments where they lie in their
- 34:52Speaker 2: back and they have someone like that it's making sounds
- 34:55Speaker 2: and there's something to it. But just to think about,
- 34:58Speaker 2: like we were saying, with kickstart my heart, Like when
- 35:00Speaker 2: you hear a great song, it changes the way you feel.
- 35:04Speaker 2: It changes your feeling, it gives you more energy, it
- 35:06Speaker 2: really does. So obviously, sound has a profound effect on
- 35:10Speaker 2: the human body. And it's not just like you. There's
- 35:14Speaker 2: a lot of aspects to a great song, right, It's
- 35:16Speaker 2: the sound. It's also the messaging that's in the lyrics.
- 35:18Speaker 2: It's like there's a lot of there's a lot going
- 35:20Speaker 2: on the voice of the singer, you know, the visuals
- 35:23Speaker 2: of everybody fucking rocking down on stage. That also contributes
- 35:27Speaker 2: to it. But the actual sound itself is affecting your
- 35:30Speaker 2: body in a very profound way. And I wouldn't be
- 35:33Speaker 2: surprised that there's ways that sound could provide like therapeutical
- 35:37Speaker 2: therapeutic benefits to like people that are injured, that are
- 35:40Speaker 2: feeling sickness, I'm sure. I mean, if you were lying
- 35:43Speaker 2: in a hospital bed and you felt like shit because
- 35:45Speaker 2: you just had surgery, but you're listening to some dope music,
- 35:48Speaker 2: wouldn't that be better than just listening to people moan
- 35:51Speaker 2: in the next room, like fuck, get me out of here.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you're inputting something something nice should be.
- 35:59Speaker 2: A part of your recovery. Yeah, getting positive vibes, in
- 36:03Speaker 2: getting like things that give you good feeling and good energy.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I do that all the time. Man. I'll sit at home,
- 36:10Speaker 1: if you know, when you're in the mood to not
- 36:13Speaker 1: really listen to music, but hear music where it's just
- 36:17Speaker 1: playing in the background, and I'll I'll just put there's
- 36:21Speaker 1: these YouTube videos of these beautiful Japanese gardens in Kyoto
- 36:27Speaker 1: or whatever, and there's like high def shots of these
- 36:30Speaker 1: just beautiful you know, Bonzai Trees, koi Ponds, Big Milwaukee
- 36:37Speaker 1: BONZEI like, and it's just so chill and with that music,
- 36:42Speaker 1: and I just I just put it on and it's
- 36:44Speaker 1: kind of on a lot actually, and I find myself
- 36:47Speaker 1: that's where I go to like just like I don't.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Know, Yeah, it puts you in a different state.
- 36:53Speaker 1: It puts me in a different space, you know. Yeah,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I dig it.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Man, you got really into Bonzai? Yeah, dude, how did
- 37:00Speaker 2: that start?
- 37:02Speaker 1: All the all the times that we've gone to Japan.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I every single every time I went there, I always
- 37:10Speaker 1: went to the to the Japanese gardens of the temples,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and I would just I'd walk around and just be
- 37:14Speaker 1: like my jaw on the floor, Like I've never seen
- 37:17Speaker 1: anything this fucking peaceful and beautiful and just like I
- 37:23Speaker 1: don't know, it's just came over this feeling every time
- 37:26Speaker 1: I went, I came over me. And I started studying.
- 37:30Speaker 1: This is like eight years ago. I was like, I
- 37:34Speaker 1: need this in my life somehow. I don't know what
- 37:36Speaker 1: this is, but let me go down, you know, down
- 37:40Speaker 1: the down the tube here and figure out what that,
- 37:42Speaker 1: what that is and how I can get this some
- 37:44Speaker 1: of this sin in my life. And I found some
- 37:46Speaker 1: fucking videos on doing bonds eye work on trees, and
- 37:50Speaker 1: I started and I haven't stopped, and it's been hands
- 37:55Speaker 1: down the coolest fucking thing I've ever gotten into. Man
- 37:59Speaker 1: Like I'll be out there for hours every day, Like
- 38:03Speaker 1: I'll start my day just being with nature and being
- 38:05Speaker 1: with the trees that I'm working on. And I got
- 38:09Speaker 1: like a workshop, dude, It's like a there's like in
- 38:12Speaker 1: progress works on the bench. There's other ones I'm bending,
- 38:18Speaker 1: there's ones that i'm you know, treating for pests. You know,
- 38:24Speaker 1: it's a whole world and wiring everything, training it to
- 38:27Speaker 1: where you want to go, pruning. It's just it lets
- 38:32Speaker 1: me escape everything for a couple of hours. I just
- 38:37Speaker 1: I just I don't know, man, I just check out.
- 38:40Speaker 2: How many years have you been doing this now?
- 38:41Speaker 1: I've been probably eight years now. I've been doing it
- 38:44Speaker 1: eight years.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And so is a bonds eye tree a regular tree
- 38:50Speaker 2: that would grow big if you didn't fuck with it? Yes, yes, okay,
- 38:54Speaker 2: and then you can get it to this incredible, beautiful,
- 38:56Speaker 2: artistic shape. You're small.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yes, it's what you're You're basically you keep kind of
- 39:03Speaker 1: dwarfing it and the and everybody gets this confused, and
- 39:08Speaker 1: they just think, uh, Bonzai is like, that's the tree.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Bonsai means tree and pot. That's what that means. Actually,
- 39:18Speaker 1: it doesn't mean the actual Bonzi tree. It means tree
- 39:21Speaker 1: and pot and not.
- 39:22Speaker 2: As long as the study of bonzai. How long has
- 39:25Speaker 2: the practice been around?
- 39:27Speaker 1: Fuck? I have no idea. And you and you find
- 39:30Speaker 1: that other parts of the world now that you get
- 39:32Speaker 1: into it. I mean there's in Taiwan and China. There
- 39:37Speaker 1: are some fucking insane bonzi And I think it actually
- 39:40Speaker 1: originated in China, and the Japanese took it and altered
- 39:45Speaker 1: it in ways and did it. They're sort of their version.
- 39:47Speaker 1: But I think it originated in China.
- 39:49Speaker 2: If I'm not mistaken, sixth century China and.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Fuck dude, fucking wiki over here.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So don't you have a tree that's three hundred years old?
- 40:05Speaker 1: Yes, I do, over three hundred.
- 40:07Speaker 2: I have.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I have two of them that are over three hundred
- 40:10Speaker 1: years old.
- 40:11Speaker 2: So someone was working on them over three hundred years ago.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Well either that or was collected maybe one hundred years ago,
- 40:21Speaker 1: and then over that time it's just constantly been you know,
- 40:25Speaker 1: cut back and cut back like what you'll do.
- 40:28Speaker 2: But it's a part of a tree that's three hundred
- 40:30Speaker 2: years ago.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's still it's the same tree, right, but
- 40:34Speaker 1: it's just it's never been it's it's always getting its
- 40:38Speaker 1: roots cut.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Is that it? Is that your tree? The three hundred
- 40:40Speaker 2: year old tree?
- 40:41Speaker 1: No, no, No, that's just a that's just a small
- 40:44Speaker 1: juniper that I have.
- 40:46Speaker 2: It's beautiful.
- 40:47Speaker 1: The three hundred year old one is a is a redwood. Wow,
- 40:51Speaker 1: fucking trunk on it's like this and it's smashed into
- 40:56Speaker 1: a pot about this big.
- 40:57Speaker 2: That seems rude.
- 40:58Speaker 1: It's about at that point it's got redwood.
- 41:01Speaker 2: That seems rude. Because if you go to like northern
- 41:03Speaker 2: California and you go to the redwood forest, yeah, they're
- 41:06Speaker 2: fucking spectacular. Yeah, those things.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Are wild insane.
- 41:10Speaker 2: That redwood forest is so incredible. There's the one that
- 41:13Speaker 2: you drive through. Yeah, yes, they caught a hole in
- 41:17Speaker 2: it in like the nineteen twenties or whatever. Fucked I
- 41:20Speaker 2: can't believe they did that. But the tree is still
- 41:22Speaker 2: alive and you drive through the tree. It's so crazy.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that one I showed not too long ago in
- 41:32Speaker 1: an exhibition.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Oh so you go to Bond's Eye shows.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I just started entering some of my trees that
- 41:39Speaker 1: I've been working on. I've done two so far. I
- 41:42Speaker 1: just now, like just this year entered a couple of trees.
- 41:46Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 41:47Speaker 1: The rest of these other seven years or eight years
- 41:50Speaker 1: of practicing is just learning, you know what.
- 41:53Speaker 2: A cool hobby.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fucking rad, dude, it really is.
- 41:56Speaker 2: It's also like the complete opposite of being a rock star,
- 42:00Speaker 2: totally like a great balancing tool, you know.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I know, man, it's interesting because a lot of a
- 42:08Speaker 1: lot of you know, my my peers, musical buddies, like
- 42:13Speaker 1: they're they're all of them are super interested. They're like, dude,
- 42:16Speaker 1: what what's up? What the bonds Eye? Like like they
- 42:19Speaker 1: they're curious, they want to know because maybe they've seen me,
- 42:24Speaker 1: you know, maybe change a little bit over the years,
- 42:26Speaker 1: or they've seen how much joy it fucking brings me
- 42:28Speaker 1: in there. Yeah, I think I want some of that.
- 42:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure where.
- 42:32Speaker 2: There's something about like a zen garden that you associate
- 42:35Speaker 2: with like Bond's eye and peacefulness and clarity, yes, you know,
- 42:39Speaker 2: just peace of mind, just clean mind, Like your mind
- 42:44Speaker 2: is pure, You're like you're really in the moment rather
- 42:48Speaker 2: than just being a fucking mess ordering uber eats, you
- 42:53Speaker 2: know what I mean, dude, Like there's something that that's
- 42:56Speaker 2: very spiritually attractive to people about those practices.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yes, and that, and that's it too. It really has
- 43:02Speaker 1: a lot to do with sort of the the culture
- 43:06Speaker 1: of all of it. Like when you start going down
- 43:09Speaker 1: that hole about design and all that stuff, you start
- 43:12Speaker 1: to you start to realize that everything that at least
- 43:16Speaker 1: the Japanese do is with such fucking purpose, Like you'll notice,
- 43:23Speaker 1: you know, And I didn't notice this stuff until later.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, I get it now. There's serious
- 43:29Speaker 1: rules about how they build a zen garden. You'll never
- 43:33Speaker 1: find a straight path ever, I don't care how far
- 43:38Speaker 1: you look, You'll never find a straight path going through
- 43:40Speaker 1: a zen garden. They specifically and strategically curve the path
- 43:48Speaker 1: to slow you down when you get to when you
- 43:50Speaker 1: get as soon as you walk into a garden, the
- 43:53Speaker 1: number one objective is to get you to slow the
- 43:58Speaker 1: fuck down. And there's no straight path and everything you
- 44:03Speaker 1: don't nothing becomes revealed to you until you come around
- 44:07Speaker 1: that corner, so you're always even if they're if you're
- 44:11Speaker 1: going across a lake or a pond, there's never a
- 44:15Speaker 1: straight very rarely a straight bridge. It's either arcd or
- 44:20Speaker 1: the bridge zigzags across. There's never a straight line. And
- 44:27Speaker 1: what that's how that's what that's meant to do is
- 44:30Speaker 1: get you to stop at each corner and look out
- 44:34Speaker 1: and just take take it in and fucking be present.
- 44:37Speaker 1: And that's to me, it's like, that's the deeper meaning
- 44:42Speaker 1: of all this. For me, it's really got me to
- 44:45Speaker 1: slow the fuck down because everything is just kind of
- 44:50Speaker 1: all the time, so you know that it's just I
- 44:57Speaker 1: get to I don't know how to explain it something
- 44:59Speaker 1: it's hard to explain in that state, but that's what
- 45:02Speaker 1: I that's what I get from it, and every day
- 45:04Speaker 1: it's the best way to start start your day. Man,
- 45:07Speaker 1: it can only get fucking amazing after that, because you're
- 45:12Speaker 1: you kind of set yourself up for having a fucking
- 45:15Speaker 1: super rad day, Like I do you know what I mean?
- 45:18Speaker 1: Like yeah, like I'm good, let's go.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Right, Well, it makes sense. I mean, there's something about
- 45:23Speaker 2: those zen gardens. It's so attractive to people. Yes, it's
- 45:26Speaker 2: obvious there's something going on with that design, with that
- 45:29Speaker 2: flow of nature and the way it's artistically pieced together.
- 45:33Speaker 2: It's very exciting to people.
- 45:35Speaker 1: And you see it, man, I don't know if you've noticed,
- 45:38Speaker 1: you had to notice. You see it in a lot
- 45:40Speaker 1: of the newer architecture. A lot of fucking designs and
- 45:44Speaker 1: homes are being built with that sort of very minimal
- 45:49Speaker 1: Japanese flavor that is just meant to have your home
- 45:54Speaker 1: be a peaceful place and not like a fucking museum
- 45:57Speaker 1: or right.
- 45:59Speaker 2: It's really yeah, yeah, it's more. It's more peaceful, like
- 46:05Speaker 2: in the actual design itself, versus like somehouse with big
- 46:09Speaker 2: giant ass fucking windows overlooking the big city and fucking
- 46:13Speaker 2: rocks everywhere, and like oh yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I've had that. I've done that before
- 46:19Speaker 1: with the house on the top of the hill, with
- 46:21Speaker 1: the views, and I mean the view is just kind
- 46:23Speaker 1: of a view, doesn't really do anything. It's very different
- 46:26Speaker 1: than having, uh a, you know, a beautiful winding sanctuary
- 46:31Speaker 1: to to to cruise through it.
- 46:35Speaker 2: You know, I think nature is very therapeutic, and if
- 46:37Speaker 2: you can put nature in an artistic form like a
- 46:40Speaker 2: zen garden, it's very therapeutic. Oh that's a way better view.
- 46:44Speaker 2: The view of nature is away, always away. Look you
- 46:48Speaker 2: whenever I go to New York City and I'm staying
- 46:50Speaker 2: in a hotel and I'm in the middle, and you'll
- 46:51Speaker 2: see all the buildings like, wow, this is crazy in
- 46:54Speaker 2: the center of it. This is fucking dope. But I
- 46:56Speaker 2: don't want to live there, right right. I like to visit,
- 46:59Speaker 2: but I don't think it's good for me, at least
- 47:01Speaker 2: I don't think it's good for my headspace to live there.
- 47:04Speaker 2: I like to see trees, I like to see nature.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I like to see green. I like to see things
- 47:09Speaker 2: that are alive. That makes me feel better.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's funny, dude. I tell people I
- 47:13Speaker 1: think I think I was a fucking tree, like in
- 47:15Speaker 1: a past life, because I'm I'm like, maybe you were
- 47:20Speaker 1: a tree too. I'm like you like, I don't know
- 47:23Speaker 1: if you're like this gnarly about it. But every time
- 47:27Speaker 1: I go into a city, the first thing I look
- 47:31Speaker 1: at is the trees. Like whether it's a big city wherever,
- 47:36Speaker 1: I'll find the tree because that's the first thing I'm
- 47:38Speaker 1: looking for. I don't look at the buildings. I don't
- 47:42Speaker 1: look you know, up and we're down. I'm always like
- 47:46Speaker 1: looking for the tree. Yeah, it's just I don't know, man.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Well, human beings are very connected to plants, where they're
- 47:52Speaker 2: very connected to nature.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Period.
- 47:54Speaker 2: It's one of the most brilliant things that the designers
- 47:56Speaker 2: of New York City did is make Central Park have
- 47:59Speaker 2: that giant park. It's an enormous park in the center
- 48:03Speaker 2: of the city. I was staying at a hotel last
- 48:05Speaker 2: year and it was like on the edge of the
- 48:06Speaker 2: park and like from the window you look out, you
- 48:08Speaker 2: see the whole park like straight, like this is fucking
- 48:11Speaker 2: incredible that they did that, because it's so big and
- 48:15Speaker 2: it's it's just trees. It's just trees and paths and
- 48:18Speaker 2: little lakes and everything, and go wander around like, hey,
- 48:21Speaker 2: get the fuck out of these buildings for a while,
- 48:23Speaker 2: and it's like for a person living in New York City.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Having that right there in the center is gigantic. I
- 48:30Speaker 2: don't know what percentage of people take advantage of it,
- 48:32Speaker 2: but they should all it would make them all better,
- 48:35Speaker 2: it all feel better.
- 48:36Speaker 1: It's a little center retreat.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Man, Oh, an amazing one. It's fucking huge. Like, how
- 48:41Speaker 2: many acres is Central Park? Let's find that out. Let's guess.
- 48:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna guess a thousand acres. If I had a guess,
- 48:52Speaker 2: maybe two thousand acres. How big is it? Eight hundred
- 48:57Speaker 2: and forty three acres. So it's this amazing, huge park
- 49:02Speaker 2: in the center of the biggest city in the world.
- 49:04Speaker 2: And you see all these giant, crazy fucking buildings and
- 49:07Speaker 2: then none of them from the center. It's beautiful.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Fucking props to that. Those people or whoever that didn't
- 49:15Speaker 1: sell that space.
- 49:16Speaker 2: How many fucking vampires are trying to take over that
- 49:19Speaker 2: and put a big, shitty ass building in the middle
- 49:21Speaker 2: of it. We don't need eight.
- 49:22Speaker 6: Hundred acres, five hundred acres, plenty plenty, plenty plenty.
- 49:27Speaker 2: We'll just make those five hundred acres even better and
- 49:29Speaker 2: no one's gonna complain.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yeah, a bunch of money.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah, hats off to whatever we're gonna do.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Whoever like held that down.
- 49:38Speaker 2: They've lost a few parks. That's one of our shows
- 49:40Speaker 2: that we do with our spear Shane Gillis and Mark
- 49:43Speaker 2: Norman is protect our Parks. But we're not really protecting parks.
- 49:47Speaker 2: We're just getting drunk and talk of shit. It's called
- 49:49Speaker 2: protect our Parks because Ari on one of the early
- 49:52Speaker 2: episodes was ranting and raving about they're gonna fucking take
- 49:55Speaker 2: down this park and turn it into apartment buildings, and
- 49:58Speaker 2: they wind up doing it. They killed the park. Oh man, vampires,
- 50:03Speaker 2: they just want to suck out all the trees. Just
- 50:05Speaker 2: should make money, these dirty bitches.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Oh man. Pretty soon they it's gonna have no place
- 50:10Speaker 1: to go. Man.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think Central Park is safe. And that's
- 50:14Speaker 2: the greatest park in the world. It really is the
- 50:16Speaker 2: greatest park in any city in the world.
- 50:18Speaker 1: It's so crazy you mentioned that because on the way here,
- 50:20Speaker 1: I was flicking through Instagram and I saw sorry that
- 50:27Speaker 1: this happened. Some dude got killed that one of the
- 50:31Speaker 1: horses took, you know, the horse and buggy then just
- 50:35Speaker 1: fucking launched and you see the dude. The horse flips
- 50:39Speaker 1: the cart man, the dude gets flung out and then
- 50:44Speaker 1: he dies. He died on the way to hospital.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Why did the horse freak out? Do we know what happened?
- 50:50Speaker 1: I don't. It didn't show it. It just showed like
- 50:53Speaker 1: somebody else's had footage of it, like just the horse
- 50:56Speaker 1: freaking out and then peeling out, and you'd see the
- 51:00Speaker 1: thing flip over and you're like, oh, man, dude.
- 51:02Speaker 2: You know, I love horses, and I'm not a fan
- 51:05Speaker 2: of horses walking around the city. I think it's fucked.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I get the people think it's romantic to ride in
- 51:10Speaker 2: the back of a buggy with a horse. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 51:14Speaker 2: it's not right. No horses supposed to be in the
- 51:16Speaker 2: fucking fields and the mountains. The horse supposed to be
- 51:19Speaker 2: running around.
- 51:20Speaker 1: And clicking around on the asphalt, fuck all that.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not like, it's just a gross touristy thing.
- 51:27Speaker 2: I mean, it's cool to see them every now and then.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I know cops like to use them when they're breaking
- 51:33Speaker 2: up riots and ship Its kind of crazy. But the
- 51:36Speaker 2: reality is a horse is not supposed to be They're
- 51:38Speaker 2: just like a cow's not supposed to be there. If
- 51:39Speaker 2: you had cows walking down the street, you'd be like,
- 51:41Speaker 2: why this fuck?
- 51:42Speaker 7: Is this cow likely an accident because the driver, Yeah,
- 51:46Speaker 7: the driver I guess they call him, wasn't dude, never
- 51:50Speaker 7: spot like left his seat what Yeah, he left never
- 51:53Speaker 7: supposed to their seatd says to take maybe a photo
- 51:55Speaker 7: of the passengers in the carriage, and when the family
- 51:58Speaker 7: was climbing back in horse got spooed.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Oh no, he has to happen very fast. But yeah,
- 52:04Speaker 1: the driver's not in it. The driver's not in it, dude.
- 52:06Speaker 1: It just peels out. Oh fuck man, and you see
- 52:10Speaker 1: it just go and just made a make kind of
- 52:13Speaker 1: a hard rite and the buggy just fuck flips over.
- 52:17Speaker 2: And I don't fuck with the horses, man, Yeah, dude,
- 52:20Speaker 2: I don't ride them. I have I've ridden a horse before.
- 52:23Speaker 2: I don't like it, dude.
- 52:25Speaker 1: I've the same here, done it. I got my ass
- 52:28Speaker 1: thrown off one. Yeah, and I was like, I'm good,
- 52:31Speaker 1: I'm cool.
- 52:32Speaker 2: It's just not It's just I mean, look, if you're
- 52:37Speaker 2: a cowboy and you're riding horses and everything, that's kind
- 52:39Speaker 2: of a different thing. Sure, you know, if you're doing
- 52:41Speaker 2: it every day, that's a different thing. But for me,
- 52:42Speaker 2: it's like I don't need to ride them.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I get it for entertainment purposes.
- 52:47Speaker 2: It's like I went to Thailand and we rode elephants.
- 52:49Speaker 2: We had to ride elephants, and the elephants don't mind
- 52:51Speaker 2: because you establish a relationship with them first. You feed
- 52:55Speaker 2: them sugarcane and you know, you pet them and you
- 52:57Speaker 2: hang out with them, and then they decide whether they're
- 52:59Speaker 2: not you're cool. And if you give them like peaceful, gentle,
- 53:02Speaker 2: friendly energy, they're like, sure, come on up, lift their
- 53:04Speaker 2: leg up and you step on top of them and
- 53:06Speaker 2: you climb on their back and they gently take you
- 53:08Speaker 2: through the jungle. But I'm like, I didn't need to
- 53:10Speaker 2: do that. I could have just hung out with them.
- 53:12Speaker 2: That had been plenty cool. I'm happy just feeding them.
- 53:15Speaker 2: I don't need to ride them.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Yeah, like king chimp bigger at me. You know, it's
- 53:23Speaker 2: very weird. Yeah, it's weird, but you know, people like it,
- 53:28Speaker 2: and they're beautiful animals.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, they're beautiful.
- 53:31Speaker 2: I don't need to ride animals. I get it, people
- 53:33Speaker 2: like to do it. I don't have a problem with
- 53:35Speaker 2: people doing it, but it's not me.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I rather look at them. I'm with you.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, But horses and people have like a crazy relationship.
- 53:44Speaker 2: You know people that have horses like they they're bonded
- 53:47Speaker 2: to that animal like no other animal.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I know a few that are just like
- 53:53Speaker 1: horse whisper kind of ship, like where you're like, whoa,
- 53:56Speaker 1: this is some next level love.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they do a lot of there's there's a therapy
- 54:02Speaker 2: with that too. They find therapy for a lot of people.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I did that one time, had out of rehab. They
- 54:08Speaker 1: took us to have like a couple of days with
- 54:11Speaker 1: just with horses, and it was cool, man, I get it. Yeah.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Well again, it's like just like the trees in the forest.
- 54:18Speaker 2: It's like something peaceful about horses. Yeah, you know, mostly
- 54:22Speaker 2: most of the time, especially if they're broken, they're pretty chill.
- 54:25Speaker 2: They just want to hang out. Yeah, come up and
- 54:28Speaker 2: pet them, and they like it. And it's like puts
- 54:33Speaker 2: you in check.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Their big ass teeth freaked me out. You don't get
- 54:38Speaker 1: your fingers in there, dude.
- 54:39Speaker 2: People have been bitten by them too. If someone's a dick,
- 54:42Speaker 2: you get a horse annoyed and they bite you, bro. Dude, Yeah,
- 54:47Speaker 2: that's got a fucking can you imagine the jap hour
- 54:51Speaker 2: the size of their fucking head just clamping down your hand.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Fuck you, I want to carrot, bitch, give me the
- 55:01Speaker 2: fucking carrot. That's so rad you can smoke in Yes,
- 55:09Speaker 2: yeah I smoked cigars.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Of course. I'll fire up with you all right. Mmm.
- 55:16Speaker 2: How long you've been smoking?
- 55:19Speaker 1: God? Forever?
- 55:21Speaker 2: You ever try to quit?
- 55:23Speaker 1: I have, and I quit for this was a few
- 55:27Speaker 1: years ago. I quit for like, fuck, I almost made
- 55:33Speaker 1: it a year and then I.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Was like, gotta get a feel like after a few months,
- 55:38Speaker 2: you're out of the woods.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know. It just didn't. It didn't last.
- 55:43Speaker 1: It just didn't fucking last. Man.
- 55:45Speaker 2: What brought you back?
- 55:50Speaker 1: You know what? Probably because I was drinking at the time,
- 55:55Speaker 1: Like they kind of go hand in hand. If you're
- 55:57Speaker 1: a cocktail or a beer or whatever, you're having to smoke,
- 56:00Speaker 1: chances chances are And I don't know, man, I was
- 56:04Speaker 1: just you're sitting there and you're having a drink and
- 56:07Speaker 1: you're like, where's a cigarette. It's just I don't know,
- 56:11Speaker 1: there's like rock and roll, like they just go together
- 56:13Speaker 1: for some reason. So I failed.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Well why did you quit? Originally the thought.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I think I was just trying to quit fucking everything.
- 56:29Speaker 1: You know, you just like that's it. Fuck everything. I'm
- 56:32Speaker 1: just gonna take a break and fucking hit the reset
- 56:34Speaker 1: button on everything. I think I was going through that
- 56:37Speaker 1: phase because I hadn't ever tried that, tried everything else,
- 56:42Speaker 1: but nothing, uh, And yeah, I don't know, man.
- 56:49Speaker 2: It's the last vice of a lot of people in recovery.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you and you got and then you know,
- 56:54Speaker 1: you got guys like Keith Richards who's just ripping cigarette
- 56:57Speaker 1: still and I'm like, he's fine, and like I've gotten
- 57:03Speaker 1: I've gotten my fucking my lungs and done the whole
- 57:07Speaker 1: like pernuvo, like body scan to see all your shit,
- 57:12Speaker 1: and they're like, you're good. I'm like, are you sure? Wait,
- 57:18Speaker 1: let me see the like you know, the paperwork, different
- 57:22Speaker 1: leaves or a different guy Like, because that's fucking impossible.
- 57:27Speaker 1: They're like, you're good. I was like, all right, so
- 57:32Speaker 1: that there's really no reason to quit.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Well, there's a it's actually a very small percentage of people. Well,
- 57:38Speaker 2: first of all, it's a very small percentage of people
- 57:41Speaker 2: that get lung cancer the general population, and then when
- 57:45Speaker 2: you add in cigarette smokers, it's a small percentage of
- 57:48Speaker 2: cigarette smokers they get lung cancer, but more cigarette smokers
- 57:54Speaker 2: get lung cancer than regular people. And so that's why
- 57:58Speaker 2: when you look at the percentage of people that get
- 58:01Speaker 2: lung cancer that smokes cigarettes, that's why it looks so high.
- 58:05Speaker 2: So if you like, let's let's find the numbers, put
- 58:07Speaker 2: it into perplexity. Please, let's, uh, what percentage of cigarette
- 58:12Speaker 2: smokers get lung cancer? And I think it's less than
- 58:16Speaker 2: five percent. I think it's a very small number. And
- 58:19Speaker 2: then you got to think people that are smoking cigarettes,
- 58:22Speaker 2: how many of them are smoking two three packs a day?
- 58:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's crazy.
- 58:26Speaker 2: And how many of them are smoking just a few
- 58:28Speaker 2: cigarettes a day? I bet a lot. I bet a
- 58:31Speaker 2: lot of people that are a little hesitant they only
- 58:33Speaker 2: smoke like a half a pack, are a little bit less. Yeah, Like,
- 58:37Speaker 2: so what does it say, Jamie, It's still calculating.
- 58:44Speaker 1: And isn't there something about like nicotine, Like when COVID happened,
- 58:48Speaker 1: they were like, if you're a smoker, you're good. And
- 58:50Speaker 1: I never got fucking COVID. Yes, And I was like, yeah, nicotine.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Well there's something about smoking cigarettes. It's supposed to be
- 58:57Speaker 2: like really good to prevent COVID. It's really confusing to
- 59:01Speaker 2: be so crazy. Yeah, ten to twenty percent of people
- 59:04Speaker 2: who smoke at some point in their lives will develop
- 59:06Speaker 2: lung cancer, with many studies landing about fifteen percent. I
- 59:10Speaker 2: thought it was a lot less than that. Large study
- 59:12Speaker 2: estimates that fifteen out of one hundred current smokers will
- 59:15Speaker 2: get lung cancer over the but that's estimated from a study.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Another analysis found roughly one in seven current smokers develop
- 59:23Speaker 2: blood cancer. People who never smoke have a one to
- 59:27Speaker 2: two percent chance or a lifetime risk of lung cancer. Yeah,
- 59:32Speaker 2: people who never smoke. Overall, only a minority of smokers
- 59:36Speaker 2: get lung cancer, but smoking still causes about eighty to
- 59:40Speaker 2: nine percent of the lung cancer deaths. Oh, this is
- 59:42Speaker 2: something we talked about yesterday, Jamie that we forgot to
- 59:44Speaker 2: look up. There was some sort of a study that's
- 59:47Speaker 2: connecting people that live in Europe that have high polyphenol diets,
- 59:52Speaker 2: like so they have like they use a lot of
- 59:55Speaker 2: olive oil. Oh yeah, and olive oil seems to protect.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Very controversial statement because people think, oh my god, you're
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: promoting cigarettes. I don't think they're promoting cigarettes. So just
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: that they're just looking at data that these people that
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: have high olive oil content in their diets seem to
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: not have any problems with cigarettes, or not have nearly
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: as many problems. Oh wow, Yeah, which makes sense because
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: olive oil is so good for you. You got to
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: think it's got to balance out a lot of the
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: free radicals and bullshit that you're getting from life. It
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: makes sense that it would apply to smoking as well.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: You totally, yeah, that's yeah, that's.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: So smoke them if you got them, fucking it gets
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: some extra virgin olive oil. Let's fucking go dip them,
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: dip them, liker, have you ever tried shirm?
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah a long time? Whoa Yeah, fucking high school days. Man.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: People in Europe who eat high polyphenol diets but still
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: but smoke, still face the full, very high health risks
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: of smoking. Diet cannot cancel out cigarette damage. It can
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: only modestly improve overall risk markers. But there was an
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: article that I had read that they were connecting it.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: They were talking about Europeans. Yeah, here it is especially
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Mediterranean rich plant diets consume substantial polyphenols from fruits, vegetables,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: and whole grains, tea, olive oil, and wine. Polyphenol intake
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: is linked to more to better cardiovascular risk profiles and
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: lower long term heart disease risk and overall mortality in
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: observational studies. Because that's the other thing about cigarettes. It's
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: not just cancer, it's also heart disease, and so polyphenols
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: have antioxidants and anti inflammatory effects, but current evidence does
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: not show they can neutralize the cardiovascular cancer or lung
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: damage risk from smoking. What it means for smokers, haters,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: you have to have some devices. Most of the people
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I know that in alcoholics anonymus, they fucking drink coffee
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: every day and they smoke cigarettes, big.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Person ripping cigarettes.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Yeah, because it gets you a little high. Yeah, but
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: it's like a very manageable high. Like the cigarette high
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: is like.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I'm all right, Yeah, it's just like a little lightheaded.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but also like good for cognitive function, you know. Oh,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: like you know Pink Floyd when they wrote The Wall,
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: they were high as fucking cigarettes. Those guys smoked cigarettes
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: all day long. What Yeah, Yeah, those dudes smoked a
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: ton of cigarettes out of here. Yeah. Is that coffee
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: dude get in there?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Fuck? Yeah, thank you, bro.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah told me that. And he's a giant cigarette fan.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Stephen King said that too when he stopped smoking cigarettes,
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: it affected his writing. Oh whoa, yeah, I said, sidnaps.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: This just didn't fire as fast anymore. Wow, It's like
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: that was one of the things that I really noticed
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: when I quit smoking.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That's wild. Yeah, huh.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Doesn't that make sense though, Yeah it does.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: I remember quitting for a short time there. I remember
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: everything tasting better. I'm sure. Shit. Yeah, like I mean,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: you just ta tasted better.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Of course.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: It's pounding a cigarette. I mean it following every single
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: meal or drink.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: It's gotta numb the inside of your mouth in somewhere,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: dull your senses something. You're caking it with smoke. Yeah,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: of course, clog up the old taste receptors.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: But a lot of creative people swear by cigarettes. Man,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I think there's there's some benefit to it.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully now, I think there is.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: I think there's some cognitive benefit. There's just way too many,
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: like super creative people and a lot of intelligent people,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: A lot of professors used to background. David Kilo says
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: he never smokes cigarettes. David Gilmour but didn't.
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: Roger Waters goes on to say that some of the
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: band did smoke cigarettes, but it's more about their marijuana
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: and Hashi's smoking.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: So Tony Hanscliff spreading misinformation and here I am repeating it.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: He could have been.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure he was told. Well, Roger. We all
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: did hang out with Roger that one night. That was
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: pretty dope. We've got to see Roger Waters live and
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: we came on the podcast. We hung out and then
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: we went to see his concert. Was insane.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Oh I bet it was fucking round.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Another legend was still like full Bower on stage. It's incredible.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: The show was amazing, and it's like he has these
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: enormous screens behind him, so the show is like it's
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: the music, but it's also these incredible visuals that you're
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: watching while the music is playing, you know, and his
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: is so politically loaded, so it's you know, you see
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: all this crazy shit, like while he's singing these songs,
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: like when they're playing the Wall, it's.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Like, fuck yeah, I remember seeing one of those tours.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I think maybe it was I don't know what, but
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: the wall is slowly building over the whole. Yeah, it's
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: fucking crazy.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: And we went to see him. Ari was high as
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: fuck on acid and he's crying in the middle of
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: the show, He's it was fucking phenomenal.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, dude, I don't know if I could
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: handle that.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know either. Jesus to get the fuck
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: out here with the acid. We're just gonna go see
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: the concert. I about doing that.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, fuck around all those people and I'd probably
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I don't know if that'd be a good one.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Probably not a good one. But Ari, he's an experienced passenger,
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: you know what I mean. He could ride some waves.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Good boy, he could ride some waves without throwing up.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Do you ever look back and just say, God, it's
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: a wonder I'm still.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Alive, dude. I told you earlier. I pinched myself on
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: a daily basis. I really do like I shouldn't technically
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: be here, right, Maybe you shouldn't. I don't know, who knows.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: We all got our our thing, But oh man, I'm
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: really lucky to be here. And I think it's because
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: I want to be here, like you know what I mean,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Like like I want to be here, like I want
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to fucking see. I'm kind of pissed because I feel
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: like we're not even close to where we should be.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I mean, the year two thousand where's my fucking spaceship right,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you know, like, where is that there was supposed to
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: be full Jetson's bro, they're extremely late or it's never
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: going to happen.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I think there's a real problem with people flying They
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: lied the people. The problem with people flying around is
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: you got to catch them, whereas if they're on the street,
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: just close off the street and then you catch them. Right,
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: if people are flying around like way too much, they
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: just go off like no, no, no, no, you can't
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: have that for everybody. You have people corral in nice
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: like very clean line and we can block these lines
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: off very obvious.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Paths, use lights to start over.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Them, and helicopters put a spotlight down on them, fall
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: them around. That's what people like. They don't like this
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: idea of the jets and like that's not fuck.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I want that, dude, I want my own little.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Well, they do have flying cars. Now I saw something.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: There's a couple. There's like a one company called Jet one.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: It's like this little looks like a little it's like
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: a one man drone helicopters. I'm like, yeah, Me and
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: my manager were always like, should we fucking get a
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: couple of these.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: You don't want to dine that way. Yeah, let those
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: things get worked out for a few years.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably it needs a little bit more time
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: for it to be soup.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: But yeah, man, because I mean think about like how
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: glitchy early cell phones were, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Let that ship get ironed out. Yeah, let the eggheads
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: work on that for a little bit.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Up nice, fix all the bugs.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, I don't know what happens when those
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: things crash, Like you get a warning when they're about
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: to die, Like, do you did it run out of batteries?
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Does it run out of gas? Is it allowed to
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: run out of gas? Can you just be an asshole
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: and just fly until you run out of gas and die?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Or solar charging takeover?
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Make it home? Like how many guys have done that
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: in their cars? I think I could make it home.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: When I was in high school, my friend picked me
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: up in his buddy's nineteen seventy Chevelle's fucking amazing show
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: so dope, and I remember he ran out of gas
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: and we coasted perfectly right to the gas station.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: No way.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like we shut the car and we
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: got out, Like that was amazing, just because you know,
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: we're sixteen. It ran out of gas at the pump.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: I was like, this is perfect, no pushing nothing, just
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: but if you're in one of them little drones and
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: that ship goes goes on.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: E yeah yeah, it's fucking.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Parts.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, not good.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Do you see that documentary that they did about that
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: kid that stole a plane? He stole a play. He
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: was like working at an airport and he stole a
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: plane and hijacked it and then he flew it and
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: crashed it and died. Yes, but he's like having conversations
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: with him.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Yeah, he's talking to him going like I don't know
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: what I'm doing, man, but you know this one's for
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: the I don't know. Yeah, And they were just like
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I could run it, dude.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Well they were trying to get him too, but they
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: were trying to get him to land it. But the
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: reality was like, he's no way he was going to
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: figure out how to land that. He's a dead man
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: the moment he got off the ground. He's a dead man. Yeah,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: and he just stole the plane and there's a whole
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: documentary about it. It's apparently very interesting.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Oh wow, I have not seen the documentary. But I've
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: seen clips of them trying to talk him, talk him down,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and he just seemed like he wasn't that wasn't an option.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: He just seemed like this was.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Ready to wrap it up.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: He was taking this, This was this that one flight?
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Yeah, ready to wrap it up. Yeah, what insurance covers this?
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: But yeah, I think flying cars will probably be a
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: thing one day. For seventy minutes, the world watching disbelief
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: as a stolen Horizon airplane soared over Puget Sound for
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: crashing on a remote island. Now, a new Hulu documentary
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: reveals the man behind the controls and a quiet struggle
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: that led him there.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Oh I gotta watch it. What's it called?
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: What's sky King? It's what Skyking?
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: It's called sky King?
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Poor dude.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Oh damn. Well, at least they gave him a rad title.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, the unfortunate thing is that might encourage other
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: people to do it as well. Oh yeah, people are
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: very stupid, dude.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: People are stupid. I just released a song called Stupid
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: World a couple of weeks ago, and that's exactly what
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: that's about. It's literally we have gotten to a place
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: where everything to me, like we are at just epic
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: stupid proportions where you just not a day goes by
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: where I'm like, that's fucking ridiculous, that's stupid, Like how stupid?
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: Like how stupid can we get? Anyway, I wrote this
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: track It's called Stupid World.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: We live in l which is one of the stupidest
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: fucking places on earth.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Dude, I know, it's fucking insane. I'm like, and I'm
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: doing the same thing too, like why do I live here?
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I mean, I love I love it there, but in
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: the same amazing there's always in the back of my
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: head is why.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Look, it's the most one of the most beautiful places
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: on Earth. The weather's perfect. Yes, most of the people
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: are very friendly. Most of the people are cool. You know.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: It's like it's only a percentage of the people that
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: are that suck. It's a large percentage, but it's only
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: a percentage. The most the majority of the people are cool.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: The problem is it's like slowly becoming a new Detroit.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: It's like slowly the film business is like dried up,
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: like completely dried up, television, completely dried up Late night
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: it's dried up, man. And then that was fueling a
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: giant part of like what made La special, I know,
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: and it's just dried up. Man, nobody has to be
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: there anymore. And they make it intolerable. They make you
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: seem like you have to be there, so they just
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: punish you with taxes, and they punish you with regulations.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: They punish you. They make it everything very difficult to
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: conduct business, very difficult to be safe, very difficult to
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: just feel fucking normal. And they get surprised when people leave, like,
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: what do you want? What do you think you're doing
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: to that place? You guys can see the statistics. Stop
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: fucking gaslighting the world, right, You guys fuck this place sideways,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: and you want to keep doing it.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: And the weirdest thing is, you know, like you know,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: you hear and you see, oh man, fuck, a bunch
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: of people are leaving LA. And part of me is like, fuck, yes,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: get the fuck out of here. There's too many people here,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: so go. But then I realized nothing's really changed, and
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I don't really notice that people have left. The traffic's
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: still the same, A bunch of shit's exactly the same.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: And you tell me this many people left, I don't
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: see it well, And I wonder if that's not not
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: maybe a I don't know, a hyped statistic.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not a scientific analysis. No, Like the numbers
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: are real. People have left LA, but it doesn't matter.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: You could lose five million people in LA is still
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: too big. The traffic's banana.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Dude, it's fucking it's retarded.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's bananas. If you want to go to Orange
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: County at four o'clock or shoot yourself like, it's a
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: real that's a real decision. Drive to Orange County at
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: four o'clock in the afternoon, You're like, what the fuck
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: am I doing with my life? This is crazy?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And don't even think about hitting the four or five,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: no at.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: All, Like, no, no, you're gonna have to go some sideways. Yeah,
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: you're gonna have to go some You're gonna have to
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: use ways, yeah, yeah, and even then you're fucked. Even then,
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: it's an hour and a half. If you live in
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: like Irvine and you commute to LA. Good God bless you, dude,
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: God bless you. Yeah, how do you do it?
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: People do it every day. They just want to live
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: in a place like Irvine, real safe, real nice. Yeah,
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: I gotta work in LA. Fuck it, I'll just drive
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: in every day.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Fucking it's all fucking mad, and just.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: I would get up at five in the morning and
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: just go to the gym. That's what I would do.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: I'd get up five in the morning, drive to La.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: I get a membership in La at the gym. That way,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: I'm driving with no traffic at least one way, at
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: least getting there, I have no traffic. Yeah, and then
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: you deal with the home commute, doing it to both
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: to and from fuck you, fuck you. I'm not doing that.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: It's too gnarly.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: I'd rather get up at five in the morning.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: I would.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I can't imagine even doing it once a day. But
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: there's a lot of people that do three hours a
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: day minimum in their car, and they really live twenty
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: minutes away. If they didn't have traffic, they would be
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: there in twenty five minutes.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Man. That's that's pretty crazy. When you realize all we
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: have here on this planet is time, and you realize
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: that kind of time you're wasting, wasting, and you're never
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: going to get back. And you're like, if I do
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: this consecutive consecutively every single day, I wonder what add
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: that time up over you know whatever. However, many years
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: and I'll bet you people would freak the fuck out.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you lost years.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I just lost years of my life in the fucking car. Yeah.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: But the good thing is one thing that you can
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: do in the car is listen to books on tape. Yeah,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: and books on tape are amazing, and you know, podcasts
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: too for some people, but for me, it's a lot
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: of it is books on tape because like, you'll get
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: lost in a book and it doesn't even really bother
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: you that much. And one of the crazy if you
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: have a Tesla. My tesla does auto driving. So if
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: I want to, if I'm leaving here and there's some
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: crazy traffic for some reason, I just go, I just
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: turn it on and it goes. I don't have to
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: hit the blinkers, I don't have to change lanes, I
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: don't have to stop at red lights.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: It does everything stressed.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: And all I have to do is keep my fingers
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: on the wheel just like this.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Look.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: No, you're supposed to like stay contact with the wheel
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: and just keep your eyes on the road. But you
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: don't have to kick at all. You know you can't
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: do that. You're not supposed to do that. It probably
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: would still work. I don't even know what happens.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: If you just I just think it shuts down after I.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Probably starts to recognizes that you're doing that and shuts down.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: But the reality is like that, as a stressedy coupler, there's.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Nothing like, oh man, the best you just put your.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Fingers on the wheel and just chill and now all
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: you're doing is sitting for an hour and a half
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: instead of like constantly hitting the brake, constantly hitting the gas,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: constantly hitting the brakes. Now you're just chilling and you
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: can get just like listen to your book on BUNSI.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that is that is nice. Man. I don't
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: know about you, but like if I start, like you know,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: you start reading a book, just you know, your eyes
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: focusing and reading, they get tired, so you get more
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: in listening to it an auditory version of it, rather
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: than for me at least sort of sort of eye
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: stressing on reading and doing all that, I get tired
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: and then fucking lose interest.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's there's definitely something to that. Well, reading
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: always makes me want to go to sleep, yes, especially
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: of reading at night. It helps you fall asleep. But
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: there's uh, there's also something about reading in your head
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: because you create the voices and you create everything, like
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: you use your imagination when you're just reading. That doesn't
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: exist with books on tape, but with audio books, I
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: don't have the time. So for me, it's a time thing.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Like if I have a guest coming on and the
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: guest is like an astrophysicist that has some very bizarre
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: theory about something like I need to absorb the information
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: and I have a limited amount of time. So I
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: listened to audiobooks in the gym, I listened to audiobooks
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: in the sauna, and I listened to it in the
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: car on the way to work. And so that all
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: together is a couple hours in a day. So I
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: can do that and get a lot of information in
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: where I wouldn't. I wouldn't I don't have the couple
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: hours to sit down and just read. I just I don't.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I wish I did, I don't. So I can still
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: get all that data and that information, but I have
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: to be very diligent about actually listening. Yeah, that's the thing,
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: because especially at the gym, you can get a little
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: just distracted and you're like, what the fuck did you
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: just say? And you have to back it up, and
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: that happens. I generally I just shut it off. I'm like,
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: this workouts too intense. I can't really pay attention.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, what do they say, do what you're doing when
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: you're doing it?
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, people people people think they're multitasking, right, that doesn't
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: fucking exist, do you really? Yeah?
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Whatever, you're sort of multitasking, but you're robbing from Peter
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: to pay.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Paul, thank you very much.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you're taking away some of your attention on what
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: you're doing to pay attention to this other thing. And
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: it's definitely making you less good at either one of
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: those things. And if one of them is very simple,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: and it's like it doesn't matter, Okay, you could be distracted,
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: right right, if it's two important things, you're robbing each
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: important thing. You're robbing attention from these things. Yeah, there
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: it is.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Well. I've always found that, like my best workouts are
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: in silence. It's like, you don't it's so hard to
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: work out, Like you really need to only be thinking
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: about what you're doing. And if you add in a
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: bunch of stuff except music. Music is always fuel for workouts.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: That's different books. It's like music you can listen and
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: then stop listening. You could do it to be in
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: the middle of the set. It doesn't distract you with lyrics,
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: it just keeps It just gives you some energy in
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: the air. Music is the ultimate companion for working out.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt, no doubt.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: So much so that David Goggins doesn't use it because
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: he says it's cheating.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: What he goes, it's cheating.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: You know, because he's just a complete total psycho.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Is that that like?
- 1:20:02Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: Is that that like Ultra marathon guy? Yeah?
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Oh okay, I thought it was the Live Forever guy though.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, that's Brian Johnson. That's the guy
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: like has his son's blood injected.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Into Yeah, I'm sorry confusing.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: David Goggins is a totally different guy. He's the Navy
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: seal who run I think, how many ultra marathons did
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: you run in a month? Something insane? He runs hundred
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: mile races and it's like an insane fitness freak. And
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: when he works out is these workouts were like famously
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: he'll take like professional fighters and they work out with
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: him and they can't keep up and they're just throwing
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: up and just can't. Can't believe how much this guy works.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: And he's doing it easy where he's just talking to
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: them the entire time and they can't keep up. He
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: finished eight one hundred mile marathons in eight consecutive weekends,
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: So he ran eight hundred miles in eight weekends. He's
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: a nut. And he does like he'll He'll be like
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: at home and just decide, I'm gonna do a sixty
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: mile rock right now, and just like throws on a backpack,
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: gets outside and starts rucking, and they'll just do sixty miles.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: And so he'll go out there for hours and hours,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: just decides this is what I'm gonna do, and I'm
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: not stop until I'm done. And he does it all
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: the time. Whoa, he's in insane shape and he's fifty. Wow,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: he's in saying he also has no knees. His knees
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: are completely destroyed.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Pounding bone on bone.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: He's had a ton of operations, doesn't care, keeps going
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: on bone on bone like what It's just a maniac.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: It's a complete and total mania. But he doesn't use
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: music because he says it's cheating. Wow, that's amazing, but
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: that just shows you I like to cheat. I like
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: to use that music. I like to cheat. I need
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: to cheat to get that energy extra. I mean I
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: can do it myself maybe, but why would I when
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: I go bound. I mean, give me that fucking give
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: me that fucking music.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: If it's cheating, I'm gonna cheat at that.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's that's not cheating.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Yes, it's an awesome supplement, that's what. But for him,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: it's all about mental strength, and so he considers it
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: cheating to use that mental strength, Like to your mental
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: strength should be right from your brain. He goes, you
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: can't always count on that music. The music is not
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: always gonna be there, like, okay, but I guess so.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: He kind of has a I get it, Yeah, do
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: what you're doing.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: For what he does, he kind of has a point.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I could see that he's focusing. Yeah, no, no,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: no distractions. Yeah.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: He says he's gaining knowledge. He says, I'm gaining knowledge.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: I'm acquiring knowledge.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: He must be believe him.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: I believe him because he's he's thinking, he's going into
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: the dark realms of his mind, you know, intense suffering,
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: running one hundred mile races eight weekends in a Row.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: He's doing some serious other work, right, Well.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: That's the real, like deep introspective work. You want to
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: find out who you really are. Run eight one hundred
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: mile races in eight weeks.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Imagine those conversations you're having with yourself. What the fuck
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: am I doing? No, dude, you got this? You got this?
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: No dude, you're an idiot? No bro?
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Fuck yes, I think he probably used to have those conversations.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: Now it's just now it's just battling demons. It's all
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: just demons, just crushing down negative thoughts, crushing down weakness.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: You know, I know.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: Fuck, there's a lot.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Of different kinds of people in this world. Tommy, Yeah,
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: it's pretty crazy.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Bet you've met every variety of just about Oh my god,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: well that's funny. I don't. Wow.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I know there's some crazy people in this world.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: There is.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: But we need all of them. You know, we need
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: our Tommy Leees, We need our David lee Ross, we
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: need our you know, we need our David Goggins. We
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: need all those people. That's what makes the world beautiful
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: is that there are so many different people. You can
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: meet someoney like fuck, I never met a guy like him.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: That's nuts.

- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I mean you must have met every fucking human being
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: that's ever lived, practically.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Dude, I feel like it just about.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: I mean, if you've been famous since what, like, what
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: year did Motley Crue really break out?
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Eighty eighty?
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: That's nuts?
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Yeah? Boy?
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: That world was a different place. Borrow, the world was
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: a different place.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: No internet, no, no cell phones?
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: No?
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: Who was president in nineteen eighty?
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: Was that even Reagan?
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: Yet? Almost?
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: When did Reagan become president?
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Fuck?
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Reagan was president when I was in high school? Who
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: the fuck that was in the eighties? Would you? Jamie?
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: Eighty one? So nineteen eighty Reagan wasn't even president yet?
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Fuck?
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Who was How did you? Jimmy Carter?
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: Right? That sounds right?
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: Was it Jimmy Carter before Reagan? Yeah? Yeah, so's Jimmy
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: Carter and Ronald Reagan?
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: Whoa dude? Wow?
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: And that nuts? Nineteen eighty What was that scene?
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Like? Bro? That was still to this day Motley did?
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: We did this movie called The Dirt, and it's based
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: on our autobiography from you know, certain years from this
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: year to this year, and it kind of like it
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: shows how it fucking was. And one of one of
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: the coolest things ever is when you know, I'll see
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: you know, emails from fans or questions from fans and
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: they're like, dude, was it? And these are from like,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: you know, eighteen year old kids. They're like, was it
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: really like that when you guys were rocking shit like that?
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: I was like one d They're like fuck, and they're bummed.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: They're like, we will never ever get to experience that. Fuck.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: It's like it was just full on till the wheels
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: fall off. No, you could get away with fucking murder. Literally,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: there's no phones and no. This was at a time
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: where anything anything goes pretty much pretty old?
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: Were you in nineteen eighty?
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: In nineteen eighty I was eighteen Jesus Christ eighteen seventeen.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: So you're blowing up at eighteen years old? How the
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: fuck did you manage? I know, dude, look at that picture.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: That's crazy. That looks like a sure from like nineteen
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: forty right, just like a world I know. Even the
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: font from Motley Crue, Yeah, looks ancient.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Totally. Wow, God, dude, what does that?
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: Does that even seem real? When you look at that picture.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: Look at our fucking little cheesy cloth backdrop, to the
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: wrinkles and the fabric.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: That's what the whiskey whiskey too fast for love, fucking
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: great song.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: And that fucking drum riser, that that right there with
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: the lights in it. Yeah, my dad fucking and my dad,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: myself and my drum tech. We built that riser, dude,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Like it had fucking switches. My dad was a mechanic, uh,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: and so my dad built he you know, he's like
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: a need a drum riser. All right, let's go. I mean, dude,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: he would my dad would built us pyro fucking He
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: like drilled out these or cut these big blocks of wood,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: ran electrical prongs up through the wood, and then you
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: take a little small wire and you connect the tube,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: put a pipe over it, fill it with gunpowder, and
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: we'd be out in my backyard, dude, and the neighbors
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: and be all of a sudden, it's like fire. There's
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: these fucking mushroom clouds in my backyard, and the neighbors
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: are like, what the fuck is going on? And my
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: dad like he just like he loved it. He's like
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: making bombs, lighting rigs, drum risers, and then he would
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: drive me. He would drive me to the gigs and
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: uh in his van with all my shit, like I
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: had the best dad fucking ever.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and here here's a mechanic.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: Okay, look at this fucking setup. Bro, this is nuts.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: Oh dude, right the hamster wheel, Yeah, that is crazy.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: That's nuts.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: But you were doing drums like halfway upside down, dude.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: The thing was gyroscope. It went around, you know, right
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: to left, back to front.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: What is it like trying to play the drums from
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: that position though? That's got to be very weird.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Dude, it is insane. Like I had to, like, I
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: had to change so many dynamics, Like think about it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: Instead of gravity, instead of gravity pulling your hand down
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: right right now, you've got to push oh yeah, upside down,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: so it becomes three times harder physically. And also you
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: had to make adjustments. So I don't know how much
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: you know about drums, but on your pedals, they're foot
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: pedals for your bass drums right well, and those are
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: chain driven pedal footboards, so when you go upside down,
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: they fall. So I had to put springs. I had
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: to put springs underneath the pedals to keep them taut
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: so they would stay up. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so I had.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: And with symbols, they they they're meant to hang a
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: certain way. They're not meant to hang upside down. So
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I had to make all these crazy adjustments technically to
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: pull it off. But we figured it out with the
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: high hat too, because the high hat would you know,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: the two symbols that they would just if you're upside down.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: They just they just go open, right.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: So I had to do another spring as well to
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: keep that close so I could manually drive it. It's
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: all this crazy shit, Why did.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: You decide to do that?
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: What was just something rad?
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: You know what? That all started and it's kind of
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: been my thing throughout history, and every year I do
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: something fucking different and crazier. Of course, everybody's like, what
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: are you gonna do next year? What are next year?
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: That's sort of like that's where it all started. And
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: it really started when I went to go see it
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: was fucking Pat tracks. Do you remember Pat Trifor's band,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Boom Boom?
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: I'll go the like, oh yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: Anyway, they were cool and I went to go see them,
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: and Tommy Aldrich was the drummer, and this is before Martley.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: I'm just like, whoa dude, I'm like a fucking kids
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: standing on the chair by fuck yeah right and his
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: drum solo time and he's about us, and he's just
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: he's fucking ripping, dude. Alls you see is sticks flying
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: and hair fucking going. He's shredding. And I'm looking around
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: and and I'm watching people go get a beer, people
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: going to pee, going to get a T shirt, going
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: out to the lobby to fucking smoke a joint, I
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: don't know whatever. Everybody's kind of leaving, and I'm like,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: where the fuck is everybody going. That guy is murdering
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: the fucking drums right now, and y'all are like he
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: failed to capture their attention. And from that moment on,
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: I went, I need to figure out a how to
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: give the audience a better view of what you're actually
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: doing there, because people can't see.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: It's not like a guitar right where you can you.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: Can see, Oh, there's the that's the roller coaster, that's
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: that's the that's the Crucifley.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: Dude, that's so dope.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: That's the latest one. That thing went from the front
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: all the way to the back of the fucking arena
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: or stadium.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: It's crazy, dude.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: And look at and then it starts. It starts twirling
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: as it's going down.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: Oh, I got your upside down. That's so sick. Look
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: at that, dude. That is so sick. The audience must
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: go duh nanas.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Yeah. At one point the roller coaster comes down and
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: it's literally almost just they could almost touch you. Wow.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Look at that ship, dude, that I think that is.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: How do you not get a crazy head rush when
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: you're upside down? Paying on the drums?
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Dude, it is so gnarly. I'm wrecked. It's nine minutes total.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: Must do the hot for your court to right, dude.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: I'm on the oxygen bottle. When when I finished, I
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: go all the way out and then I do it
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: all backwards. Whoa, I'll go back and do it backwards.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: And by the time I get done, I'm sitting there
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: with the oxygen going Well, Mick does a guitar solo.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: I just need a couple of seconds because I am
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: fucking done.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: I can imagine. Man, it's an incredible cardio. It's insane.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: It's like shadow boxing for minutes at a time, hardcore
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: super fast. Yeah, I've always admired the or the badness.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Yeah, just constantly. And you know what that's like. Man,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: After a fucking minute of that, You're.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: Like, I know, the physical fitness involved in playing drums
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: must be really crazy. Like if you didn't play drums
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: for like a few years and then picked it up
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: again and started to get it probably takes forever to
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: get that endurance back forever, dude, because it's so like.
- 1:33:52Speaker 8: When you're going off, dude, you're so fast, You're going
- 1:33:56Speaker 8: it's so fast due everything's fucking moving, You're pounding your
- 1:34:02Speaker 8: feet and everything.
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: Like fuck man, oh no, it's one of the most
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: athletic things in all of music, it really is, man.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: And and I had this. I was like, Okay, how
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: come I've weighed the same weight since fucking high school
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: till today? And I'm like, that's fucking weird. And I
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: eat kind of whatever the fuck I want to eat,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Like I don't there's no I don't like diet or
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: have some strict, you know, regimented food program. I was like,
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna fucking I gotta see I got one of
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: those this is years ago. It's like a pedometer you
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: clip onto your shoe, like joggers would use it to
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: see how there's like the old version. You just clipped
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: it on your on your shoe and it telled you
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: how many miles you did, like a little tachometer, not
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: a tachometer.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm like, I get one, I clip it on.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm wondering, what how many fucking miles I'm
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: doing after a two hour show? I don't know? Fuck
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: who knows. I know, I'm sweaty as fuck and I'm
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: I'm after the show alls, I hear is ringing in
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: my ear and I'm fucking I'm wrecked. I'm done. And
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: I fucking took it off after the show and I
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: looked down and it said thirteen point three miles. And
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: I was like, so that's why I don't fucking That's
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: why I'm a skinny fuck. And like I just I
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: sweated out Travis Barker.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: Same deal, same deal. Yeah, I mean that bill as well,
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: but it's like same deal.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's incredible amounts of cardio, the amount of I
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: wonder how many calories you burn in a two hour show.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: It's gotta be off the chart.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that I haven't measured, just.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Because it's not just jogging. It's sound like you're running
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: thirteen miles. Obviously you're sitting still, but the pounding of
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: the arms, yes, yeah, and the breathing you know, you
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: got a fucking yeah.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, everything's going man, you're firing on all
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: tell for sure.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: The most athletic thing in all of music, for sure,
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: nothing even close, right, Yeah, No, I mean playing guitars,
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: you're moving your hands and everything. But it's not nearly.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: Drums are like it's more like a sport.
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: It really is, it really is. It really is like
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: you don't see a really out of shape drummer. No,
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: you know, it's almost like you can't be to keep up.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: No, I know, And everybody's you're kind of like you're
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: the fucking heartbeat man. You're you're, you're really everybody's coming.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: You know. People say you're you're you're only as good,
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: Your band's only as good as your drummer, And that's
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: really fucking it's really true. And I'm not just saying
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: that because I'm a fucking drummer, but drummer has a
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: lot of responsibility. Man, everybody, all the people that you
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: see out there that are fucking moving. I'm responsible for
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: a lot of that. I'm not saying it for all
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: of it. You sort of set the pace, you know,
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: and and you're making people physically move like that. That's
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: that takes That takes a lot of work, you know.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: It's the amount of energy you're putting out you're getting back,
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: and you're seeing it and you're like, fuck, i'm driving here. Yeah,
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: and that's a that's a cool.
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: Place to be.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: But it is a responsibility and it is physical and
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: it's training, but it's fucking rat I live for it.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: Did you take lessons to learn how to drum or
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: did you learn on your own?
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: I I didn't really take lessons, like I learned on
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: my own until I mean, like kind of early in
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: high school I played in the marching band, but that
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: wasn't really like drums. That was like more like like
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: a drum corps, stuff like rudiments and like you know,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: drum core ship not really the whole kit. Until later
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: I got the school in my high school to let
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: me you're sorry, my grade school to let me borrow
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: with the drum, the jazz drum set at the school
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: and I'd bring it home and then I started just
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: like listening to my favorite shit and I would just
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: play along. And so I never really took any physical lessons.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: I just was just in me, man. I was just like,
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: I'm really good at hearing something and going, oh, okay,
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: I got it.
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Did you have to learn how to hold the sticks?
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: Do you hold the sticks in a conventional way that
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: like like you're taught or did you just figure it
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: out on your own?
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: Just I just figured it out on my own, just
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: probably just moved on from the forks and.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: The Spoons's interesting how many great musicians learned on their own. Yeah,
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: like Hendricks. Hendricks taught himself to play guitar. That's why
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: he played it upside down left handed.
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: He just made it work.
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, just figured out how to do it on
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: his own. It's really interesting, how like with you know,
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: when you just get an instrument and listen to other
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: people use it and learn how they're doing it and
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: just kind of fuck around with it and figure.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: It out and then doing it your own way. Yeah,
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: of course, and then whoa, then you got your own thing,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: which is it's wonderful. Man.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: Well, if you think about early rock and roll versus
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: the way drums are played, like like you play, or
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: like Travis plays, like some elite drummer plays. It's like
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: drums are so much it's like it's so much more
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: powerful now than ever before.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: I know, man, God, and then that thing happens. I
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: don't know if you've ever been around like a like
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: a drum circle. The more the drummers there are, like
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: all of a sudden, it just becomes this this thing.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: It grows into this tribal like dude, everybody's just being
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: moved by rhythm. Yeah, and fuck, it's so powerful. It's like,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: you know, I don't know that that kind of it's
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: it's a more aggressive power than the kind of power
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: where you can make somebody fucking cry play in the
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: piano right playing the right chords. I watched them cry
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: right Yeah. But yeah, that's fun. Man. There's nothing better
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: than rhythm, and I live for that shit. No, I
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: can doubt I was getting in trouble all the time
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: out in school because I'd always be like, always, always,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: can you stop tapling on the tables? Yep? Sorry, let
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: me sit back in the back of the class and
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: be like making like water drip noises. Everyone's looking around
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: for a week class clown.
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: Well, there's something about drums that it's like a part
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: of like tribal culture. Like from the beginning of human time,
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: people pounding on drums. Yeah, they pounded it on ships
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: to keep pace with the rowing. You know, there was
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: a guy that was the drummer on a ship. Yeah,
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: you know, to keep make sure everybody keeps pace.
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: It's kind of wild, isn't that cool?
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: You know that they knew even back then. There's something
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: about the sound of drums that's important, the.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: The heartbeat.
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: Do you ever fuck around with bongos?
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: Oh? Sure, yeah, those a lot of handed instruments, bongos, congas.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: I just of the last couple of years been playing
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: a hand drum. People call them a hang drum, hand drum.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: You know them. Have you seen them? They're like they
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: look like a fucking flying saucerer.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I have.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: They're really melodic, really beautiful zenny sounding instrument. That's cool
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: because it's percussive and melodic, so you can come up
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: with these really bitching depending on how the instrument's tuned
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: and stuff. But that's been a lot of fun that
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: that's cool, like sort of a different kind of rhythm,
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: but it's it's a it's a soothing one. It's a
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: total opposite of the aggressive ship.
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: Right right, right, well, I mean it must be fun
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: since you've been playing drums for so long, just experiment
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: with different things.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: M I love that, man, there's I'm always searching for
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: a new sound, you know, a new percussive sound that
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: moves you, makes you fucking I don't know, that gets
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: inside you, like. I'm always on the hunt, dude. I'm
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: such a tweaker. Like you know, I'll find something that
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: sonically sounds like a drum. It could be a drum,
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: it's not, and I'll make it. I'll turn it into something.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: It sounds like a drum, and all of a sudden,
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: you know that, you know, I don't know, hitting on
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: these elkhorns or something sounds like a woodblock, but pitched
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: way way down it sounds more sounds like a note going.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: I don't know, like I'm just I love I love
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: percussion and rhythm. So I'm always fucking around trying to
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: find find something that moves us. You know, that's my job.
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: I'm here to move you, man, it's a cool fucking job.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: I like it. It doesn't suck. No, it doesn't suck. No.
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: When when you're working on a new song, when you're
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: creating a new song, what is your process? Do you do?
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: You have a beat in your head? Do you do
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: you sit down and just start fucking around until something
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: comes to you? Like, how do you do it?
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: You know what? It's always different. I wish I could
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: say I had like a a thing. I really don't.
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: Man Like, you know, it'll be, uh, something that happened
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: to me, or something I'm experiencing will spark a word
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: or a chant all of a sudden, you know. Then
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: I'll pick up a fucking guitar and be like, oh,
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: this is killer. Or sometimes they come with a beat.
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, this is a fucking killer beat. This
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: would be great. And then I'll start with a beat
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: and then then add guitars. It's never really there's not
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: really like a format. I just kind of go with
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: whatever sort of inspiring me at the time that I
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: feel like I need to write about. Yeah, there's not
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: really like a way. I know a lot of people
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: have a methodical way, like well, I start with the
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: lyric first, always the lyric first, nothing else is important. Okay, dude,
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: why don't we get why don't we get people to
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: move first before you try to seduce them with these
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: fucking crazy words. Actually, no one's going to eat. No
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: one's going to even get to these fucking words if
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: you can't get them to stay listening or to move it,
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: they're like, oh this is nice? Is not the like?
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Is not the key moment when you're like, oh this
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: is cool before you've even heard of a lyric or
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: a melody. That's that's kind of my oj Like, my
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: priority is like, is it moving me? Yeah, Okay, let's go.
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: It seems like having a bunch of different methods to
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: get there is probably better anyway, Yes, because there's all
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: sorts of different paths to get to the prize, right,
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: and having a bunch of different methods of creativity, it's
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: probably better. It's going to give me give you up
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: more different.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: Results, right, instead of being okay, well, it's going to
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: start to sound the same if you keep using the
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: same method.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: Yeah. When you write, do you write down on paper
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: or do you just yeah.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Yeah paper?
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: You know you ever write on computer? Or do you
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: ever like just write in your own head.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: You were just like, I use a computer a lot too,
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: a lot for excuse me, for demos. That's a really
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: quick way to you know, where I can I can
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: present a song to the band where you know, fuck,
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: I play guitar saying drums, bass, So I'll I'll bring
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: in demos that totally created by you. Yeah, just sounds
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: that they sound finished, you know, it's like okay, and
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: then you know, and we'll go from there. So yeah,
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I always try to, like, you know, not not finish
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: everything entirely, because you know, when you're in a band
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: with three other guys also create kind of leave it
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: open for that. But but yeah, I use the computer
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: a lot to sort of compose the ideas and get
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: them recorded, sort of produce them.
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: It's really beautiful that, you know, Motley Crue hit in
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: nineteen eighty, here we are forty six years later and
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: you still love it.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: That's so awesome, Isn't that correct? That's what everybody wants
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: in this life, something that they're passionate about, that remains
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: a passion, it stays, and if anything grows as a passion,
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: still exciting, still enticing, still captivates you. Yeah, nineteen eighty,
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: the world was a different place. I mean, think about
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: where we were in the universe in nineteen eighty and
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: how the entire Solar System is spiraling through the galaxy,
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: which is spiraling through space, Like we've moved how many
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: fucking million miles since nineteen eighty.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: I know, that's what that's hard to think about.
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: You know, have you ever seen what the the You know,
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: we always want to think about the Sun being in
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: the center of our Solar system and the planet spinning
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: around it, But have you ever seen what the whole
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: Solar system looks like like moving through space. The whole
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: thing's moving through space. It's not stationary. It's not like
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: we're sat there and we're just spinning around.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody else is just saying, fucking whole.
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: Thing is hurling through space. So in nineteen eighty we
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: were in a totally different spot in the universe.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: That is the world was different. People were different, information
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: was different, our version of reality was different. Everything everything
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: was different. Fuck, and you wrote it out, from answering
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: machines to pagers to fucking sidekicks, to iPhones to the
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: internet to everything, Like.
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: Remember the motorola brick phone.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, dude, you're a pimp if you have
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: one of those. Look at it. This is what it
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: looks like. This is see most people think our solar
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: system looks like, but this is what it actually is doing. Oh,
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: it's how our solar system actually moves. So look, the
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: Sun's hurling through space and all the planets are spinning
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: around it as it hurls through space. Isn't that crazy?
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: Where's Earth there?
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: Earth is with the third planet from the sun, Oh,
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: the blue one right there. So just think about that.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: How many rips?
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, how many rips we done? Have we done since
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: nineteen eighty? How we're in a different place in the
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: fucking universe than we were in nineteen eighty. How far?
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: Let's ask this, how far has the Solar system moved
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: through the universe since nineteen eighty? Let's ask perplexity that,
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, that this is one of the best
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: uses of AI stupid information.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: Like, yes, yeah, it is, it is.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna guess one hundred million miles just a wild guess.
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: I have no idea I might be off by one
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: hundred million.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's giving me light years.
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: Not well, let me see what it looks like, roughly
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: two to three. I think a light year is a
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: trillion miles. Whoa dude, two to three light years through space? Okay?
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: How many miles is a light year? Put that in
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: Oh I didn't say mile, right, but how many miles
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: is a light year? I think it's a trillion. Yeah.
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Fuck we're going one in.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: Oh light year is five point eight eight trillion miles, dude. Okay,
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: think about that. Think about how many trillions of miles
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: Earth has traveled through the universe since Motley Cruz bust
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: out onto the scene. Dude, think of that.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: And a trillion is a thousand billion.
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: Yes, a thousand billion. How many thousand billion miles has
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: the Earth moved through? So it was like two to three,
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: it was two to three light years, okay? And each
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: light year is how many trillion? Five point eight eight?
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: How about that? So you're dealing with roughly fifteen plus
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: trillion miles.
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: Dude, we're old, old.
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: As fuck junior high school.
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: I don't know about old, but fuck we've traveled.
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: We have fucking trivel yeah, I fucking travel. Yeah, but
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: that's that's a freaky thing to think about. How far,
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: how we're in a different place in the universe.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: Well, I thank you for that bit of information. That's
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: nice to to. I don't know, I just miss to
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: think about. Dude. You know how many miles I've fucking traveled.
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: Bro, Yeah, fifteen plus trillion trillion since Motley Crue bust
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: out onto the scene. What was it like being that
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: famous at eighteen? Gotta be nuts.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: It's fucking bizarre, dude, Like, I don't even know how
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: to explain it. Just imagine having the the fucking I
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: don't know, the keys to a fucking pretty much anything
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: you wanted to do.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: Try What was the first crazy thing you bought when
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: you first started making cheddar.
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: First thing I bought was, uh at was my fucking
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: dream car. It was a fucking eighty two to top
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: nice tops popped out color. It was a champagne color. Nice.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: It was kind of silvery gold color. Yeah, fucking rad dude,
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: Like my.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: In eighty two, the Corvette was one of the only
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: American cars worth buying because in eighty two they were
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: still dope looking. They pull up a nineteen eighty two Corvette. Yeah,
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: they're still like mustangs, looked like hot dog shit in
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: eighty two. They look fucking terrible. They look terrible. Camaros
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: look like shit. Everything looked like shit. They were all
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: like plastic garbage. That's still dope, Like that's still dope today.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: Look at that's one.
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: Look at that. Make that bigger.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: That is a fucking dope car today. It's one of
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: the only American cars from nineteen eighty two that looks
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: dope today. Like, pull up a nineteen eighty two Mustang,
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: nineteen eight two Mustang is gonna make you want to vomit.
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: Oh I know a lot of people that are like
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: fans of the Fox body.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: Oh no, look at that? What is that?
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: Come a bitch?
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: Who That looks like a grimlin.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: It looks like straight horseshit. That's whatever the fucking Russians
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: did to us to make cars like or really the
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: Nixon administration by fucking blocking drugs. Look at how ugly
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: that is. That is fucking disgusting. That is, dude, Look
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: how fucking disgusting that is. Now I want you to
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: do this. Pull up a nineteen sixty nine Boss for
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: twenty nine Mustang. Put up the pinnacle, the pinnacle of
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: muscle cars.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: Look at that motherfucker right. Look at that fucking look.
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: At the difference between nineteen sixty nine and that fucking
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: dog shit shitty two.
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: Extended about fucking car.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: Look at that thing, ude, that's a real car. But
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: they blocked the drugs. They kept those car makers from
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: having drugs, and they all make garbage except Corvette. Corvette
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: still stuck with that style because Corvettes were fiberglass, so
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: they weren't as limited in terms of like the shapes.
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: You know, they had those cool swervy lines to them,
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: and they kept those until oddly enough, the nineties. They
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: started getting shitty in the nineties. Look at you, dog,
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: you dog. Wow, that's crazy. I wonder who's got that car.
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: Somebody has Tommy Lee's nineteen eighty two Corvette. Somebody they
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: have to.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: You know, that thing's still running, yeah, probably hopefully. Yeah.
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: Well a lot of those they take them and make
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: resto mods out of them. Now they'll put like a
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: modern engine and modern brakes and everything so they handle better,
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: and modern suspension.
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: Imediately. Fucking me and my buddy just took that car
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: and fucking put a fucking blower and an injection on it.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: This fucking insane, dude, in the glove box. This is
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: before like now we have you know, a bunch of
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: super rad tuned exhaust you know, uh, you know, straight
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: pipe shit loud as fuck. This is before that. And
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: we we made a couple of cutouts and in the
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: glove box, Like, if the cops are to come, you
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: just open the glove box and take these two they're
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: like choke levers and you pull them, pull them out
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: and the flaps would disconnect them and just go straight
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: from the headers out and bypass the mufflers.
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: So just be like, and if the cops.
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: Are coming, you just push these two choke levers in
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: and back to the mufflers, all quiet.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they have switches for that. Now, cars like custom
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: made cars, they have exhaust switches that do that, but
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: they don't do it to that extent where it just
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: goes straight pipes.
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that must sound.
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: That must have sounded. Fucking AMU dude.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: It's so rad.
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's nothing like rock and roll and
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: muscle cars like those are two things that are like
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: completely connected forever.
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Another fucking rad car that I never got but
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: I always wanted to was like the fucking Shelby Cobra.
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the big fucking pipes blown round, just wout
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: as fuck, like four inch exhaust Like yep, dude, that
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: ship's th roady and just.
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: Tiny, little cost little flabberglass car.
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: Yeah, go kart with a four to twenty seven in it.
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: Crazy power, no weight at all, it weighs nothing.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: It just does burnouts the whole time. Too much.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: I have a buddy of mine who has one of those.
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: It's nuts, like, but it freaks me out. It's like,
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: there's no protection here if you get an accident, Like
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: it's just like nothing to this car. You know, you
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: have no roof, you don't even have a roll bar.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: It's like just got this little tiny windshield. You're you're
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: behind the wheel of an engine, just a giant engine
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: with four wheels.
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: Yeah you're done.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Yeah, one bad move, pretty dope.
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Yeah, super rad.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like one of those like look at that, fucking.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: Dude, I'm sorry, but that's the fucking sick of shit
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: radical looking.
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: Look at the flared things too. They make a lot
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: of recreations now, yeah, the old ones are worth like
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: millions of dollars, dude, I know. Yeah, but you can
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: get a recreation and experience the exact same thing. Sure,
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: there's a ton of recreations now and they're fucking great
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: and they look the same, and it's like, yeah, it's
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: not worth as much money, but who fucking cares? Go
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: drive it? It's awesome.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: Yeah, if you just look at your thing. Geez, bro,
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: look at that carbon fiber.
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, look at that fucking thing. It's all
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: carbon fiber. I must weigh fourteen pounds.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: Let's go get a couple, dude, Dude, who's making.
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: That click on that link? Who's making that fucking thing?
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: Probably is, well, I know, yeah, Classic Recreations. That same
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: company that does those dope sixty seven gt five hundreds,
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: they're making a Classic Recreations a thousand horse power.
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: Oh dude, dude, to weigh two.
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: Thousand, three hundred pounds, that's nuts.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: A thousand.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: But the body, the carbon fiber body, is only eighty
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: eight pounds. Unbelievable.
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: It's two thousand power, two thousand pounds of suspension, frame
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: and wheels and engine.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: And that's it. Oh, that that's sick. That's so sick.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: That's just straight trouble right there.
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: That's gonna get in trouble or not.
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: Or just enjoy yourself, just fun.
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's America.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Fuck you, I love those cars.
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: What else did you buy? The preposterous Yeah, what else
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: did you buy? That's nuts.
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: When they first came out, me and my bass player
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: bought like almost fucking At the same time, the Ferrari
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: had come out with the test Rosa.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: Oh the Miami Vice car.
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: Totally, dude, I got had a car broke or find
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: me a black on black one.
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: It was just like, fuck, okay, this is insane. The
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: listeners will probably appreciate this. You buy a fucking car
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: for two hundred at the time, two hundred and fifty
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: thousand dollars for the test Rosa. Get it shipped from
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: It came in from from Florida to LA. I'm pulling
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: the plastic off the seat, says brand fucking new. Back
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: it down the fucking car carrier, and I'm in the
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: dude's kind of showing me you know what's up, and
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: I fucking I look in this, you know, to the
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: right of the steering wheel, there's like a like a
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: looks like a cover. So I grab it and you
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: open it up at that where the stereo would be.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: I open it up and I go, where's the stereo.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: The guy goes, oh, Enzo believe that the music that
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: you should be listening to is the sound of the engine.
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, that's fucking rading everything, Enzo. But
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: but bro, I just spent a quarter of a million
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: dollars and I want to fucking crank shit loud as
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: fuck here and breaking the speed limit, Like come on,
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: who does that? And so I had to go I
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: had got a stereo. At the time, there was no
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: uh sub wharffers. If there was a Bzuka tube was available,
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: you could drop there's no room too, so you could
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: you could get a Bazuka tube behind the seats and
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: some fucking you know, the first subwoffer and some other
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: speakers in the.
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: Doors decent door speakers, yc. They're only decent back then.
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and Alpine receiver but right, And I got it
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: to bump. But I just found it fucking just shocking that,
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: like that's that much money for a car and you
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: still don't get a stereo.
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: It's pretty ridiculous. But they did sound incredible.
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: And I totally get it, like.
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: There that those things make it's just like it's heavenly.
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: It's totally different than the American sound of the muscle
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: car sound. The muscle car sound is my all time favorite.
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: But there's something melodic about those ferrari and it's like
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: just like it. Oh there's a sound that it has.
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: It's it's so spectacular. It's just engineering and its wine
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: and pasta and a fucking windy road and totally you
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: know fuck yeah yeah, man, oh those things are there's
- 2:01:56Speaker 2: something special. And again it's a what is that It's
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: a piece of passion. It's artwork. It's artwork that's you know,
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: made into an engineering form.
- 2:02:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that we get to play with, Yeah, basically a
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: race car.
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Like a friend of mine we were talking about,
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: Like you think Ferraris are worth it? I go listen, man,
- 2:02:15Speaker 2: rich people aren't stupid. They're not stupid. If Ferraris weren't
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: worth it, they wouldn't keep buying them. Have you ever
- 2:02:20Speaker 2: driven one?
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:02:22Speaker 2: No, trust me, they're fucking worth it. Like, yeah, it's
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: a ridiculous amount of money. It's not worth it really
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: for a normal person. But if you have like an
- 2:02:29Speaker 2: insane amount of money and you could experience that, the
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: thing Ferrari fucked up on big time. Is took away
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: the manual transmission. They fucked that up. Yeah, they fucked
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: that up. Porscha's the only one who kept it. They're
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: the only ones smart enough to realize, Like there's a
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: part of the experience that you got a fucking work
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: what that gated shifter where you're clacking them in there
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: in a Ferrari? Ah, bring it back, cut this shit. Yeah,
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: guys are silly.
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: Dude. Did you see the fucking electric car they just released,
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: which one the Ferrari?
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: That was dog shit? Dude, they fucked that up hardcore.
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: That looks like a joke. It looks like it looks
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: like something that someone made for just to get engagement online,
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: Like it's fake, but it's real.
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: I know. I couldn't.
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: I was like, it looks as those nineteen eighty two Mustangs. Yes,
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: it looks like a Ferrari electric car.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, look look at dude, it looks.
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: So boring what and so nothing? Look at it even inside,
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: Like this looks like cheap dog shit. Yeah, I don't understand.
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: I don't get it either. I thought it was like
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: a joke, I know, you know, like you know, like.
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: Look at this. It's got suicide doors. It's kind of dope.
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: That's kind of cool, But you know what, it's really dope.
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: On a sixty five Continental, not on this fucking thing, ugly, ugly,
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: fucking monstrosity.
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: That's funny you mentioned that car. That's another one of
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: my favorites.
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, fucking I know a guy who's got one
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: for sale that's a Resto Mode and I'm fucking really thinking,
- 2:04:07Speaker 2: Oh boy, it's a sixty five black convertible with the
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: suicide doors, and it's just boomed. It's mint, and it's
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: got a new engine in it, like a modern engine,
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: and it's got fucking perfect suspension, and it looks so radical.
- 2:04:22Speaker 2: There's something about that car, especially in a convertible, the
- 2:04:25Speaker 2: sixty five, that's my Oh yamn, good luck parking anywhere. Yeah,
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: you might as well be parking a yacht. It's boat.
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: It's so big, it's so big, it's so big, but
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: it's so sick. It's just I can't understand how Ferrari
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: can make. Now I want you to pull up a
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: Ferrari four five eight Italia. So I think the four
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: to five eight is their masterpiece. I think it's the
- 2:04:49Speaker 2: best look in Ferrari that they ever made. Ye, there's
- 2:04:51Speaker 2: a lot of them that look great, there's a lot
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: of them that are amazing. But for me, there's something
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: about when they came up with the four five eight,
- 2:04:59Speaker 2: It just they nailed it. You look at that, Oh
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: my god, look at that fucking thing. That is a
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: work of art. It's so beautiful and it's a lot
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: of people think it's the greatest Ferrari ever when you draw.
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: Also doesn't have a manual transmission, which sucks a fat dick.
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: But other than that, go back to that last picture
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: that you had of that that one. Look at that one,
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: make that bigger. Look at that color. Oh it's a
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: shitty picture, but god, it's fucking beautiful, amazing beautiful. Now
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: think of the company that made that, also made that
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: go that black one right there where your cursor just
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: was clicking that one, oh base, Look how sick that is?
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: And how do you go from that to that electric
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: piece of ship you guys just released, Fuck you, fuck
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: you for doing that.
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: How dare you? I bought a tributeo which is very
- 2:05:54Speaker 1: similar to Yeah, that fucking car bad Us.
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: No, they make incredible doible cars they're making incredible and
- 2:06:01Speaker 2: somehow or another less douchey than a Lamborghini. I don't
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: know how they did it.
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: It's like something about a Ferrari that you have when
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: it's sophisticated, you know, Yeah, whereas if you have a Lamborghini,
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: like look at this douchebag.
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah you know.
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: Lamborghini's are awesome.
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they're awesome, But why is that? Why are they
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: like attached to I guess because it's kind of like
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know, maybe rappers or something started.
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense. It's like there's something about
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: them that's more ostentatious, it's more obnoxious.
- 2:06:40Speaker 1: The doors.
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like just too shall we. I know.
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: I have a buddy of mine who loves Ferrari. He's
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: a rich guy and he loves I can't try to Lamborghini.
- 2:06:48Speaker 2: I'm like, why not. He's like, it's just I don't
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: want I feel like a douchebag. I'm like, Okay, I
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: know what they're saying. There's a there's a real thing there,
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: but I don't know why, because Lamborghini's are a fucking amazing.
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they fucking too have an amazing sound, but they bark.
- 2:07:08Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, like, what is the latest Lamborghini. They
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: have some crazy new one that they just released last year.
- 2:07:15Speaker 2: That's it's insane. It's as wide as a fucking trailer.
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: It's it's huge. Extra.
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: I don't know the name of it. I've never had
- 2:07:24Speaker 2: a Lamborghini. Yeah, I drove on once on a track.
- 2:07:28Speaker 2: It was a little loose. Which one's that Temorino? Temorrio Temorrio?
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: That looks amazing?
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: Whoa dude, Yeah, that's pretty.
- 2:07:43Speaker 2: El that one. There we go, Hurrican that's.
- 2:07:46Speaker 1: Another sick, the Hurricon.
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a little smaller and lighter, I think. Yeah, dude,
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: it's also amazing. You give an eighteen year old kid
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: that kind of power in a car and you're still alive.
- 2:08:01Speaker 1: I know, I know. Oh dude, fuck yeah. Those kind
- 2:08:09Speaker 1: of cars will will definitely check you, keep you in
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: check too, because it's not until you know, over one
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: hundred miles an hours, getting closer to two hundred miles
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: an hour to where you're in that car and you're
- 2:08:24Speaker 1: like it hits you. You go, if I make one
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: fucking tiny little error here, it's over.
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: It's over.
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: It's over the motors in the fucking back, and if
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: this thing runs into off the road or whatever, it's
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: just going to accordion.
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: Right into me and you're you're done. It's kind of amazing.
- 2:08:49Speaker 2: You just buy one, you know. I thought about that now,
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: Like they have the new Corvette ZR one. It has
- 2:08:55Speaker 2: a thousand horse power yeah, from the factory. So you
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: could just go into a Corvette dealership if you got
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: the cash, slap down some money, and you have a
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: thousand horse power car that goes zero to sixty in
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: two seconds, and you just go out there and bye,
- 2:09:09Speaker 2: just good luck, be safe. Yeah, like what are you doing?
- 2:09:15Speaker 2: How are you allowed to have that like that? You
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: have to have a pilot's license to trap one of those.
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: Things totally, or just you know, racetrack only whatever.
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: But imagine you're an eighteen year old rock star. Here
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: you go, dude, you got what? And back then the
- 2:09:30Speaker 2: Corvette's like yours, especially when you put a blower on it.
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: Those fucking things had no traction control, they had narrow
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: anti lock brakes. There's no nannies, there was nothing to
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: protect you. No, it was just madness, pure madness. Did
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: you ever take it to a track or anything.
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: No, never did.
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: Have you ever driven around a track? You've done that? Yes,
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: that's fun.
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that is fun. Yeah, that is fun. I went
- 2:09:54Speaker 1: to I spent some time at the Skip barber school.
- 2:09:57Speaker 1: Oh really yeah, yeah, of course, the libra in me
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: has to fucking learn about everything, the apex and stuffies.
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: Like there's there's a lot of physical and you know,
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: technical things about driving. Oh yeah, if you don't understand
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: about going into a turn at fucking one hundred miles
- 2:10:18Speaker 1: an hour, you're going to fucking die, you know. So
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: I was like.
- 2:10:23Speaker 2: I was definitely gonna spin out. Yeah, learning learning how
- 2:10:25Speaker 2: to do it was really interesting to me. It was
- 2:10:28Speaker 2: really interesting to realize like the lines that you take,
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: you don't just go in the middle of the track
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: all the way. No, you're hugging the outside edge then
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: the inside edge and cutting the lines to make a
- 2:10:38Speaker 2: quicker time, and knowing when to break and knowing when
- 2:10:41Speaker 2: you'd accelerate, and it's so interesting. It's a lot man
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: very technical. Yeah, a lot more technical than anybody would
- 2:10:48Speaker 2: ever think. You think you're just kind of steering the carl,
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: like no, no, no, no, there's a lot of decisions to
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: be made. There's a lot going on, especially on a
- 2:10:55Speaker 2: really windy turn like this. That's what CODA looks like.
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: That's the track circuit of the Maria because and that
- 2:11:00Speaker 2: one is like there's so much turns and there's a
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: long straight away you could really fucking.
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: Cut after it, right.
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: And it's not even about the acceleration a lot of
- 2:11:10Speaker 1: times it's about the breaking.
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean breaking and turning. But it's like, that's
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: one of the things that I say, like is really
- 2:11:17Speaker 2: worth it? About having money is like experiencing a great car,
- 2:11:21Speaker 2: because it's like an amusement park ride. Yes, even though
- 2:11:24Speaker 2: you're not even going fast, just driving normal speeds around.
- 2:11:27Speaker 2: It's like if you're shifting your own gears and you
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: hear that engine like an amusement park ride. You know
- 2:11:34Speaker 2: it's not It's not just you're not just driving a car.
- 2:11:37Speaker 2: You're experiencing something that you know the other people are.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: You're driving that stupid Ferrari piece of shit electric car.
- 2:11:44Speaker 2: You're not experiencing that.
- 2:11:46Speaker 1: No you know, no, No, you're just grooving on the emblem.
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they got you. That could have been a
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: hun day easily.
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it. I was like, they did not
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: do this. Well.
- 2:11:58Speaker 2: I hope they rebound. I hope they like, smack somebody
- 2:12:01Speaker 2: who made that and go hey, bro, they will.
- 2:12:03Speaker 1: I think one of the designers was one of the
- 2:12:06Speaker 1: guys who was involved in designing the iPhone. And it
- 2:12:10Speaker 1: fucking looks like it. No, that's what Scott, that's why
- 2:12:13Speaker 1: it's got a yes.
- 2:12:15Speaker 2: No, and that guy's awesome. How did he do that?
- 2:12:20Speaker 1: That started to make sense. I was like, okay.
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: I would ask him before I even talked to him
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: about him, like what kind of cars do you have?
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: Do you have a car? What do you drive? And
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: if he's like alright, drive an Escort, like fuck you
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: get the Yeah, I have a Prius. Go eat shit,
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: eat all the shit that's ever been shit. Fuck you
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: out of the design room. You can't. You can't design
- 2:12:42Speaker 2: a fucking Ferrari just because you made an iPhone. You're
- 2:12:45Speaker 2: gonna make it look sweet and plain. Yeah, No, it's
- 2:12:48Speaker 2: got to look like art, you motherfucker. So spend a
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: quarter million dollars for this thing, and now a lot more.
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: I think the electric car is I want to say,
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: three three hundred and thirty.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: I bet they're gonna sell two two retards, two fucking
- 2:13:04Speaker 2: super rich retards. Is gonna buy that fucking thing.
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: Nobody's gonna spend four hundred thousand dollars on this electric thing.

- 2:13:41Speaker 1: My favorite.
- 2:13:42Speaker 2: How do they go from an s F ninety they're
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: selling that at the same time as they're saying selling
- 2:13:45Speaker 2: the Sonka Jong s F ninety is one of the
- 2:13:47Speaker 2: most best looking cars ever.
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's incredible.
- 2:13:51Speaker 2: Well public picture one of those, Jamie.
- 2:13:53Speaker 7: I'm on their website.
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: And if you, dude, have you seen the bodies? I
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: love the La Ferra, the body style and.
- 2:14:01Speaker 2: The Yeah, that's it. That's the one.
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: Oh dude, that's got some La Ferrari in the ass end.
- 2:14:07Speaker 2: Oh, so this is like all the cars they've ever made.
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: I'm on their website. No, understand, this is all the
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: cars that they make, and all the cars are like,
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: that's gorgeous, man, that is gorgeous.
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: Hit the La Ferrari. Yeah, dude, look at that thing.
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: Who what is the F eight? Click on the F eight,
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, gorgeous, gorgeous. When it is all models,
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: they don't have the.
- 2:14:39Speaker 1: What is it what I was looking for? I was
- 2:14:41Speaker 1: trying to find what.
- 2:14:42Speaker 7: I went to the website to find the newest car.
- 2:14:44Speaker 2: I know, but I think like some of them, it's
- 2:14:47Speaker 2: not the newest car like it might have been like
- 2:14:49Speaker 2: last year, a year ago.
- 2:14:51Speaker 7: Well, they would be sharing it somewhere on here, I
- 2:14:55Speaker 7: would imagine.
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: No, it's real, Jamie. Just google for okay. I'm just saying,
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: just Google, pull up an image of Ferrari twenty twenty four,
- 2:15:06Speaker 2: Ferrari SF ninety and then you'll see it.
- 2:15:11Speaker 1: There it is.
- 2:15:12Speaker 2: That's it. Oh the wing, that's a that's one. That's
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: like prime for racing. But you go to images, please,
- 2:15:19Speaker 2: there you go. That's it. So how does the company
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: make that? Like, look, how gorgeous that is. That's incredible,
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: that's so beautiful. How does a company make that? And
- 2:15:30Speaker 2: then that Johnny Ivy piece of.
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: Shit fucking thing. There's like three three dudes. One dude
- 2:15:36Speaker 1: like I guess designed the iPhone and there's a couple.
- 2:15:39Speaker 1: There's two other designers involved.
- 2:15:42Speaker 2: They probably worked for Lamborghini. They're probably they're probably spies.
- 2:15:45Speaker 2: Probably you know, they infiltrated and decided to like ruin
- 2:15:48Speaker 2: it from the inside. Probably the same guy that made
- 2:15:50Speaker 2: Billy Squire's music video.
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: Dude, that guy's gotta be stopped.
- 2:15:56Speaker 2: Fuck that guy. He's like, listen to what I did
- 2:15:58Speaker 2: for Billy Squire. I could, yeah, ist Ferrati, I can
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: thank them.
- 2:16:02Speaker 1: I took Ferrari down.
- 2:16:05Speaker 2: With wound one whack ass an electric car.
- 2:16:09Speaker 1: As I sold them a phone design.
- 2:16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know that's what happens. Yeah, you let people.
- 2:16:17Speaker 2: You know, you don't have enough people that are smart,
- 2:16:20Speaker 2: that are artistic around that are going to look at
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: that and go hey hey hey, no.
- 2:16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you go, what's with all the yes men? There
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: had to be somebody that went, what are we doing?
- 2:16:30Speaker 2: I don't know how the fun signed off ever got
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: green lit by someone at Ferrari. How do you not
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: look at all the other cars that you've made and
- 2:16:37Speaker 2: then look at that one and goes, yeah, a perfection. No, No,
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: nobody was doing that. I don't get it. No, but
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: you know, companies make blunders. Yeah, you know, every now
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: and then the band puts out a shitty record.
- 2:16:51Speaker 1: You know what, it happened. It happens, it happened. I
- 2:16:54Speaker 1: get it.
- 2:16:54Speaker 2: I mean, Ferrari, still Ferrari. They'll bounce back, you guys.
- 2:16:58Speaker 1: They can always go, hey, we're not in the electric
- 2:17:00Speaker 1: car business. Okay, we fucked up.
- 2:17:02Speaker 2: Well that's what they probably should because most of the
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: other car companies that do make electric cars, people really
- 2:17:07Speaker 2: don't want them, you know, like the Porsches, the tie Cans,
- 2:17:11Speaker 2: like those Audis, like the Audi ones that are just
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: like a couple of years old. There you can get
- 2:17:15Speaker 2: it for like half price. Nobody wants them.
- 2:17:18Speaker 1: I know.
- 2:17:18Speaker 2: Nobody wants electric cars, especially use electric cars.
- 2:17:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's weird, it is.
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: But if you think about it, like electronics, we think
- 2:17:26Speaker 2: of as disposable, right, you think nobody you don't want
- 2:17:29Speaker 2: to buy someone's phone from ten years ago. No, no, right,
- 2:17:32Speaker 2: So you don't want to buy a Tesla from ten
- 2:17:33Speaker 2: years ago either, No? Right, bean. While they're great, there's
- 2:17:36Speaker 2: nothing wrong with them. Yeah, a ten year old Tesla.
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: It's a fucking awesome car, but you don't want it.
- 2:17:41Speaker 2: People think of electronics as something you throw out and
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: get new engines. That's a different story, you know, Like
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: a two thousand and five Porsche is still very valuable.
- 2:17:51Speaker 2: People love those things.
- 2:17:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, those things have gone through the roof lately,
- 2:17:56Speaker 1: like with the Porsches. Yeah, just know so many guys
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: that are just like buying them up, collecting them. Well.
- 2:18:03Speaker 2: I think also as things become more electric and more numb,
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: people like they really love the sound of engines and
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: the feel that you get from those cars, the actual
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: experience of it.
- 2:18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like as things get more and more digital,
- 2:18:19Speaker 2: I think with AI and music and everything, people are
- 2:18:22Speaker 2: gonna want to see live performances.
- 2:18:24Speaker 1: More, you know, no doubt.
- 2:18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they want that experience, the experience of
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: like raw live something makes you feel alive, something.
- 2:18:36Speaker 1: All about the experience? Man? All about it?
- 2:18:40Speaker 2: Are you? You guys are touring again?
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: Yeah? Coming up mid July.
- 2:18:44Speaker 2: We're out. How fucking pumped are you for that?
- 2:18:47Speaker 1: A couple of months? So pumped because I've actually we've
- 2:18:52Speaker 1: been home. We just we did this big Stadium tour
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: with def Leppard went all around the world. That tour
- 2:19:02Speaker 1: was fuck two and a half years long. Wow, Like, dude,
- 2:19:06Speaker 1: that's what insane. So and I started to realize, I'm like, fuck,
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: I can't remember the last time I've been home, like
- 2:19:18Speaker 1: with the break, like we intentionally were like, let's just
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: fucking take a year or more than a year off,
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: and it wasn't until twenty sixteen was the last time
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: we had like taken a taken a break. So for me,
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: it's just been fucking wonderful. I actually enjoyed the whole
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: last summer at home, and you know, going now going
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: into summer now we're getting ready to go back out.
- 2:19:54Speaker 1: But just having that time at home was really fucking cool.
- 2:19:56Speaker 1: So I'm super powered. The grass is always greener, dude.
- 2:20:01Speaker 1: You know, when you're out there fucking ripping it, you're like,
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: this is fucking red. And then after a while you're like,
- 2:20:06Speaker 1: I'd shoot my own mom in the back to sleep
- 2:20:09Speaker 1: in my fucking bed, you know, you know, and then
- 2:20:13Speaker 1: then when you're at home too long, you're like, dude,
- 2:20:15Speaker 1: I got to get out of here, right, you know,
- 2:20:18Speaker 1: I gotta go fucking go do the ship so it's
- 2:20:22Speaker 1: I don't know, that's a weird balance. You know, you're
- 2:20:25Speaker 1: you're you're happy until it's too much, and then you know.
- 2:20:29Speaker 2: Well it's just achieving the balance. But it's awesome that
- 2:20:32Speaker 2: you still love it so much after all these years.
- 2:20:35Speaker 1: Oh man, there really is dude. Let me just tell
- 2:20:38Speaker 1: you there's nothing better then. Imagine right, let's trade places
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: for a second. You're back there, you're playing drums, and
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: you've been doing this for a while, long enough to
- 2:20:51Speaker 1: see this is the fucking best in the world. You
- 2:20:56Speaker 1: see your fans. All of a sudden, your fans have
- 2:20:59Speaker 1: had childre Now their children are on the shoulders of
- 2:21:05Speaker 1: their of their fucking parents who were your fans. Now
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: they're bringing their kids to the show, and their fucking
- 2:21:13Speaker 1: kids are on their dad's shoulder going shout shot with
- 2:21:18Speaker 1: the fucking devil horns up. And you're like, you're sitting
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: there going like, dude, that kid, what is he fucking ten?
- 2:21:30Speaker 1: And he's just fucking you know, and they're just yeah,
- 2:21:34Speaker 1: just to see that you're you've you've sort of you know,
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: you've I don't know, just if you've done a full
- 2:21:41Speaker 1: circle to where now it's the whole nother generation that's
- 2:21:45Speaker 1: just now seeing this for the first time, and they're
- 2:21:48Speaker 1: fucking and and you're sitting back there playing, going like,
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: that's pretty fucking incredible. It's pretty That doesn't that doesn't
- 2:21:56Speaker 1: get old man to watch that happen. Is that's probably
- 2:22:00Speaker 1: why they become the reason why I love it so much.
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: That really like puts a fucking nail in it, you
- 2:22:07Speaker 1: know what I mean. That's that's like and that can
- 2:22:09Speaker 1: only be achieved through through time. Right. So that's that's
- 2:22:15Speaker 1: nothing I've ever experienced until until recently in the last
- 2:22:18Speaker 1: few years. You look out and you see a whole
- 2:22:22Speaker 1: bunch of kids, man, and they're all just checking it
- 2:22:25Speaker 1: out for the first time, maybe for sure some of them, right,
- 2:22:29Speaker 1: and you're like, dude, fuck, this is wild wild that's awesome. Man.
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, You've had an amazing life. It's been an amazing ride,
- 2:22:40Speaker 2: and I'm so happy that you're enjoying it so much.
- 2:22:42Speaker 1: Thanks Bud, thank you, Thank you for being here. Man.
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: It was really cool, dude. I enjoyed it.
- 2:22:46Speaker 1: Thank you for having me man, pleasure. I've been wanting
- 2:22:49Speaker 1: to come by and see you and come hang out
- 2:22:51Speaker 1: and talk ship.
- 2:22:53Speaker 2: I'm glad we did it glad we did it all right.
- 2:22:55Speaker 2: Thank you, I love you.
