- 1:02Speaker 3: with us inside the tree house. I'm Dan O'Malley along
- 1:06Speaker 3: with Trey Trenholm. Trey, would you rather stay at a
- 1:11Speaker 3: haunted clown motel or sleep next to a crazy woman
- 1:16Speaker 3: who doesn't appreciate the nice things you do for her?
- 1:21Speaker 1: I've done one.
- 1:22Speaker 4: I've done one.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I did one for a couple of years. Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Bring on the clowns.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I know how one plays out. So I. Clowns. It
- 1:45Speaker 1: really depends on.
- 1:46Speaker 2: So I'm not like we had an old boss that
- 1:49Speaker 2: was legitimately afraid of clowns.
- 1:53Speaker 4: The official term is calvary phobia.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Calvary phobia.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I know that. Because our old boss had it.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And I'm not to that level.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It just depends.
- 2:06Speaker 1: On the clown.
- 2:09Speaker 4: It also depends on whether or not they're chasing me
- 2:11Speaker 4: with a knife.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Balloon animal, I'm not that afraid.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You pull out a butcher knife, I'm going to have
- 2:17Speaker 3: some concerns.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Ronald McDonald doesn't scare me that much.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Ronald McDonald with fangs? Which is Pennywise?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 4: So I actually left a part of this off.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Would you stay at a haunted clown motel that also
- 2:37Speaker 3: happens to be next to a cemetery? If you're down
- 2:43Speaker 3: for clown, you can do this. This is in Tinopa, Nevada.
- 2:48Speaker 3: They have the clown motel. I may not even be
- 2:51Speaker 3: saying that right. Tinopa, Tinopa, Tonopa. There's a place outside
- 2:56Speaker 3: of Vegas.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yes. That is known for the Clown Motel.
- 3:00Speaker 3: It is a one-of-a-kind establishment, and it proudly declares that
- 3:03Speaker 3: it is known as America's scariest motel. The entirety of
- 3:08Speaker 3: the motel is completely stuffed with clown paintings, figurines, statues,
- 3:14Speaker 3: and all manner of assorted clown memorabilia. And as if
- 3:17Speaker 3: that wasn't more than enough to keep the fright prone away,
- 3:19Speaker 3: the motel is also rumored to be haunted.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Good for business.
- 3:23Speaker 3: And visitors frequently report... hearing footsteps, probably giant footsteps, seeing
- 3:29Speaker 3: flickering lights, and experiencing other disturbances. I like to think
- 3:33Speaker 3: that while they're sleeping, they get gushed in the face
- 3:37Speaker 3: by a flower on somebody's lapel. Plus, the motel is
- 3:42Speaker 3: located right next to a cemetery. And all of this,
- 3:46Speaker 3: not too far from a nuclear bomb testing range.
- 3:50Speaker 4: So there you go. Radioactive haunted clowns and a cemetery.
- 3:56Speaker 1: You know, first of all, in fact, they said it's
- 3:59Speaker 1: the scariest motel.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You know, RIP Como Motel of 75.
- 4:06Speaker 4: That was scary in a different way.
- 4:07Speaker 3: You weren't necessarily scared of monsters and clowns at the
- 4:11Speaker 3: Como Motel on the side of 75. You were scared
- 4:14Speaker 3: of viruses and bacteria from whoever rented the room the
- 4:18Speaker 3: previous hour.
- 4:23Speaker 2: How does this place not have a brothel attached to it?
- 4:27Speaker 4: You're right, man. Why don't you screw a haunted clown? Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 4: On top of someone's grave site.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That really is the only thing, but you throw in
- 4:36Speaker 3: a couple of slot machines and it really does have
- 4:38Speaker 3: it all. So this town has been around since the
- 4:47Speaker 3: early 1900s. It was a bustling mining community. And Apparently,
- 4:54Speaker 3: it has not been free from tragedy much since. 1905
- 4:58Speaker 3: saw a plague sweep the town that, according to legend,
- 5:01Speaker 3: only affected grown men. Then in 1911, a deadly fire
- 5:04Speaker 3: broke out in the mine, killing 17 miners. Numerous fires
- 5:08Speaker 3: occurred in the area in the following decades. In 1942,
- 5:11Speaker 3: another fire claimed the life of a man named Clarence David,
- 5:15Speaker 3: who happened to own a clown collection. His children honored
- 5:19Speaker 3: their father by opening the Clown Motel right next to
- 5:22Speaker 3: the cemetery where he was buried. The motel welcomed its
- 5:27Speaker 3: first guests in 1985. Bob and Deborah Perchetti bought the
- 5:32Speaker 3: hotel in 95, and for decades it remained relatively obscure.
- 5:36Speaker 3: It's also one of the few lodging spots along a
- 5:39Speaker 3: stretch of desert road between Reno and Las Vegas, and
- 5:42Speaker 3: it's hard not to wonder what weary, unassuming travelers must
- 5:45Speaker 3: have thought over the years as they stumbled through its doors.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Oof.
- 5:51Speaker 4: That just does not look fun.
- 5:54Speaker 3: So while I don't have calvophobia, I'm not phobic when
- 6:01Speaker 3: it comes to clowns.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I don't particularly like them. I don't think I ever have.
- 6:07Speaker 3: And I've read before that it has to do with
- 6:09Speaker 3: distrust or something because their faces are painted and you
- 6:12Speaker 3: don't know what they really look like. I don't really
- 6:14Speaker 3: know what it is. It is something to do with
- 6:17Speaker 3: the paint. And I can't really put my finger on it.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I just don't like it.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It's interesting that as kids, generally we all like clowns,
- 6:29Speaker 2: but then, and maybe it's the horror genre.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Maybe it's Gacy. I don't know.
- 6:33Speaker 2: But then somehow as adults, we, we become creeped out
- 6:36Speaker 2: by them. Uh, if not afraid, I don't know that
- 6:41Speaker 2: I would want to sleep. It's like dolls, like dolls
- 6:46Speaker 2: creep me out too. And I would not want to
- 6:50Speaker 2: sleep in a room full of dolls, nor would I
- 6:52Speaker 2: want to sleep in a room full of, you know,
- 6:55Speaker 2: clown dolls, clowns on the wall, clowns are going to fall.
- 7:02Speaker 3: And it even goes back to in Poltergeist. You had
- 7:06Speaker 3: the little boy who had a clown doll in his
- 7:09Speaker 3: bedroom that came alive and strangled him.
- 7:14Speaker 4: I was learning.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I just have too much childhood trauma from watching movies
- 7:18Speaker 3: I shouldn't have.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like somehow that's how we.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I remember when the circus came to town, it was
- 7:26Speaker 1: always a big thing.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You were so happy to go see Ringling Brothers and
- 7:32Speaker 2: the clowns and everything else.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah. And now it's like, yeah, you're a little creepy.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I remember going to the Ringling Brothers Circus in Tulsa
- 7:40Speaker 3: and getting the little flashlight thingy with the spinny light.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And then a short time later, I was allowed to
- 7:46Speaker 3: watch Poltergeist. And next thing you know, I'm afraid of
- 7:48Speaker 3: clowns in my room. And also I learned don't drink
- 7:52Speaker 3: the worm in the tequila bottle.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And maybe it's as an adult, you were like, what
- 7:59Speaker 2: kind of person goes to clown school?
- 8:02Speaker 1: And yes, there is a clown school, I believe.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I think they even refer to it as clown college.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I don't know if it has prerequisites like a GED
- 8:11Speaker 3: or a high school diploma.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Don't y'all get claustrophobic in that car?
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Is that like freshman level or is that like senior
- 8:21Speaker 3: level type stuff? I never want to go to clown college,
- 8:26Speaker 3: but I do have questions.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a lot of questions.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Back to the clown motel in Nevada.
- 8:32Speaker 3: In 2015, the hotel began attracting a new kind of
- 8:34Speaker 3: attention when an episode of the show Ghost Adventures was
- 8:37Speaker 3: filmed there. The crew documented mysterious shadows, disembodied voices, and
- 8:42Speaker 3: most terrifyingly, a clown statue seemingly moving on its own.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Ever since, visitors have come specifically to experience the ghostly activity.
- 8:51Speaker 3: And according to legend, At night, the clowns become possessed
- 8:55Speaker 3: by the ghosts of the long-dead miners from the nearby cemetery.
- 8:58Speaker 3: In particular, room 108 is said to be haunted by
- 9:01Speaker 3: a spirit known as the Trickster, who is said to
- 9:04Speaker 3: have been spotted walking in from the cemetery and taking
- 9:06Speaker 3: the form.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Of a clown.
- 9:08Speaker 3: One visitor even claimed to have awoken to see a
- 9:10Speaker 3: seven-foot-tall clown hovering over their bed.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 9:14Speaker 4: A Shaquille O'Neal-sized clown?
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah. If I wake up and I see.
- 9:22Speaker 2: seven foot clown hanging over me.
- 9:26Speaker 4: That I now have calvophobia.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:32Speaker 3: If it's a, if it's a, if it's a little clown,
- 9:34Speaker 3: like if it's a little, like a tiny clown type thing,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I can kick that.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I'm not going to be as afraid seven foot tall clown.
- 9:41Speaker 4: I'm done.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm out.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Not good.
- 9:43Speaker 3: No.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah. That's a, I've, but, You take that, like the
- 9:51Speaker 1: ghost stories thing. I mean, God knows. I mean, and you.
- 9:57Speaker 1: What's Rebecca's podcast? Rebecca Black, you're... Oh yes.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Uh, from, and she is haunted AF with Julie Fisk.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I, you know, those podcasts have done wonders for
- 10:07Speaker 2: stuff like this.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I mean, uh, but true crime and haunted stuff do really,
- 10:15Speaker 3: really well in the podcast side.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I mean, That's not the reason we're talking about it.
- 10:22Speaker 2: If I had a creepy place and I wanted some attention,
- 10:24Speaker 2: that's exactly, I'd be like, it's haunted.
- 10:26Speaker 4: It's absolutely haunted.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I know a house in Frisco we could open up
- 10:29Speaker 3: right now and make a lot of money. It is
- 10:33Speaker 3: absolutely haunted by all sorts of stuff. Okay, so haunted
- 10:37Speaker 3: clown motel, no. But if it was also a whorehouse, Like,
- 10:47Speaker 3: if you could go in there and hook up with
- 10:50Speaker 3: a clown.
- 10:54Speaker 1: You know, kind of got the Harley Quinn vibe going. Yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 1: I could.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Again, depends on the clown.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Yeah, because, I mean, Harley Quinn, thumbs up.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Pennywise, arms off.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Let's roll with that for just a moment here, okay?
- 11:13Speaker 3: So earlier I asked you, would you rather spend a
- 11:15Speaker 3: night in a haunted garage clown motel next to a cemetery,
- 11:19Speaker 3: or sleep next to a woman who just doesn't appreciate
- 11:22Speaker 3: the nice things.
- 11:23Speaker 4: You do for her.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Like I said, I've done that.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Let's see if you can relate to this poor man's plight.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:33Speaker 4: This guy says in the marriage subreddit, I just need
- 11:35Speaker 4: to vent. I'm sorry.
- 11:37Speaker 3: This woman says, I just need to vent about how
- 11:40Speaker 3: a nice thing my husband does has started making me furious.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I don't know if there's a more female sentence that
- 11:48Speaker 3: can ever be uttered than that. He is doing something
- 11:55Speaker 3: nice for you and you find a way to be
- 11:58Speaker 3: bothered by it.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Jesus effing Christ. Anyway, she says, I get it.
- 12:05Speaker 3: This is not a huge problem, but it's just come
- 12:07Speaker 3: to represent so much more in my brain. Please don't
- 12:10Speaker 3: leave a mean comment about how I just need to
- 12:13Speaker 3: not be.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Well, you know what? At least she's semi-self-aware.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm sure that stopped all the posters.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah. She says, I love my husband, and
- 12:28Speaker 4: he likes to do certain things.
- 12:31Speaker 3: That show he appreciates me. One thing is getting me flowers,
- 12:34Speaker 3: which is lovely. I love flowers.
- 12:35Speaker 4: But for the last year, he's been going to this
- 12:37Speaker 4: local shop. Great. Support local stores.
- 12:39Speaker 3: But the problem is they only sell bouquets in a vase.
- 12:43Speaker 3: That means every time he brings home flowers, there's a
- 12:45Speaker 3: new vase that I eventually have to find a place
- 12:49Speaker 3: to store. We don't have a huge house. We don't
- 12:51Speaker 3: have a ton of storage space. It becomes a chore
- 12:53Speaker 3: that I eventually have to do because of cleaning a
- 12:57Speaker 3: vase and now trying to tetrastack it in one of
- 12:59Speaker 3: the cupboards is already overflowing with vases.
- 13:02Speaker 4: What a jerk. How dare he?
- 13:04Speaker 3: She goes on to say, about eight months ago, I
- 13:06Speaker 3: told him, how much I appreciate the flowers, but asked
- 13:09Speaker 3: if he could start getting bouquets without a vase and
- 13:11Speaker 3: explain my reasoning. He's continued to get the ones with
- 13:15Speaker 3: vases because the ones in vases are nicer and you
- 13:17Speaker 3: deserve nice. And I'm supporting the store. She says, I
- 13:21Speaker 3: tell him again that I get it. I know it's
- 13:22Speaker 3: a kind thought, but then maybe he could be the
- 13:24Speaker 3: one to toss the flowers when they die, clean the
- 13:26Speaker 3: vase and find a place to store it. Basically like
- 13:28Speaker 3: that's part of the gift, but no continues to get
- 13:31Speaker 3: me ones in vases and.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Then leave them dying in the counter.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I throw out the flowers, leave the vase to clean,
- 13:36Speaker 3: set it on the counter for a month, so I
- 13:38Speaker 3: just did it. Next time I ask him that, maybe
- 13:40Speaker 3: he could bring some flowers, or maybe he could bring
- 13:42Speaker 3: some of the vases back with him when he goes,
- 13:44Speaker 3: and he acted offended that I cared about this and
- 13:46Speaker 3: just didn't focus on the gift of flowers, even though
- 13:49Speaker 3: I think bringing the vases back is a great solution
- 13:51Speaker 3: where everyone gets what they want.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I get it.
- 13:55Speaker 3: She loves the flowers. Is she kind of being nitpicky
- 13:59Speaker 3: on this? Yes, but at the end of the day,
- 14:01Speaker 3: he's also not listening. I see why she's frustrated.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Quit being an ungrateful and just give away the vases,
- 14:13Speaker 2: take them to a charity, throw them away, do whatever.
- 14:15Speaker 2: He's trying to be nice and to bring you flowers.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I really did actually go through something like this. My,
- 14:22Speaker 2: one of my previous relationships from like six, seven years ago,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I sent her flowers one day and I came home
- 14:33Speaker 2: and I, of course, it was a nice bouquet. I mean,
- 14:35Speaker 2: I'm not talking about something cheap. It was, 150 plus
- 14:40Speaker 2: dollar bouquet and I come home and she is mad
- 14:47Speaker 2: won't talk almost in tears and when we finally talk
- 14:51Speaker 2: it's because I didn't order the flowers from the florist
- 14:56Speaker 2: she liked and I used someone that was closer and
- 15:03Speaker 2: therefore but it wasn't the same design as she liked
- 15:07Speaker 2: as the flower store I had she had instructed me
- 15:09Speaker 2: to order her flowers from and so I was you
- 15:12Speaker 2: know an asshole and because I didn't listen to her.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yep so no I I will I I.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I do understand a little bit of after a while
- 15:29Speaker 2: the husband probably should take a hint but she could
- 15:33Speaker 2: also just throw him away She doesn't have to, you know,
- 15:38Speaker 2: keep he, I promise he's not counting the vases.
- 15:43Speaker 4: No, he's not.
- 15:44Speaker 2: She could go to Goodwill. She could go somewhere, give
- 15:47Speaker 2: them away, throw them away and do whatever. And, and
- 15:50Speaker 2: be happy that her husband thinks of her so much
- 15:53Speaker 2: that he wants to get her flowers all the time.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Pretty good guy. Most women would, would, would really would,
- 16:01Speaker 2: would like to have your problem.
- 16:07Speaker 3: This reminds me of Valentine's Day. Many, many, many, many, many, many,
- 16:11Speaker 3: many years ago. Previous relationship. Not my now wife. I
- 16:18Speaker 3: made dinner for Valentine's Day.
- 16:21Speaker 1: How dare you?
- 16:23Speaker 4: You're right. How dare me?
- 16:26Speaker 3: Because I made a salad with grilled shrimp and I
- 16:33Speaker 3: was the a-hole. because it wasn't extravagant enough. My reasoning
- 16:39Speaker 3: was we're trying to watch what we eat. So I,
- 16:44Speaker 3: I cooked a healthy dinner, but she was mad that
- 16:50Speaker 3: it wasn't extravagant enough. It's like, you know what? I
- 16:54Speaker 3: was in a lose, lose position, man, because had I
- 16:57Speaker 3: gone all out and made like a huge fancy dinner,
- 17:01Speaker 3: which I couldn't even cook back then.
- 17:02Speaker 4: So, I mean, it wasn't going to be good.
- 17:05Speaker 3: If I had, blown it out and done a roast
- 17:08Speaker 3: with mashed potatoes. Hey, we go there or whatever. She
- 17:12Speaker 3: would have been mad afterwards being like, I ate too much.
- 17:14Speaker 3: You shouldn't have made all that. I knew that's what
- 17:17Speaker 3: was going to happen. That's why I made a salad
- 17:19Speaker 3: with some tasty grilled shrimp. And then I basically got
- 17:21Speaker 3: it thrown at me because I didn't go above and beyond.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Well, God damn it. I, I, yes.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Same relationship I was talking about earlier.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I also, I, I got her a nice Christmas gift,
- 17:41Speaker 2: but it wasn't enough. She was one of those that
- 17:45Speaker 2: there were dollar amounts that needed to be spent.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 2: And this is right in the middle of COVID. And
- 17:52Speaker 2: I'm like, my initial thing was, hey, she had two kids.
- 17:56Speaker 2: It's like, hey, how about we focus Christmas on the kids?
- 18:01Speaker 1: I go, money's a little tight.
- 18:02Speaker 2: And then you and I can do something down the road,
- 18:05Speaker 2: but let's not do anything absurd. And she got all
- 18:09Speaker 2: offended and was like, you know, Christmas is such an
- 18:12Speaker 2: important time.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I can't believe you're doing this. You're going to ruin it. Fine.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I went out, had to spend like three, 400 bucks
- 18:19Speaker 2: on her. And she opened the gift.
- 18:23Speaker 1: And admittedly, I'm bad at giving gifts. I've just, it's not,
- 18:27Speaker 1: not my thing. But, you know, and then under her breath.
- 18:34Speaker 4: She's like, worst Christmas ever.
- 18:37Speaker 1: F * * * you.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Well, I mean, was it a Dyson? Or is it
- 18:44Speaker 4: like an off-brand? Yeah. Okay, I wasn't that stupid.
- 18:51Speaker 1: In hindsight, though.
- 18:54Speaker 3: She did suck. Maybe that lithium battery will catch fire
- 19:02Speaker 3: as she flies across the sky.

- 20:07Speaker 4: All right. I'm Dan. He's Trey.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Today is Wednesday, October 21st, 2026. Let's celebrate today with
- 20:16Speaker 3: some celebrity birthdays. Doja Cat is 31. Grammy-winning rapper and
- 20:25Speaker 3: singer behind Say So, Woman, and Paint the Town Red. Also, very,
- 20:29Speaker 3: very big potty mouth. The Doja Cat, 31. I think
- 20:35Speaker 3: there was one time I was at the gym. I
- 20:36Speaker 3: think it was like I was working out at LA
- 20:38Speaker 3: Fitness in Frisco, and one of her songs came on
- 20:40Speaker 3: my Pandora.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Mix, and I was like, what the hell is this song?
- 20:45Speaker 4: And why do I like it?
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yes, that is my Bessie and a Tessie. The opposite
- 20:55Speaker 3: of Doja Cat, Kane Brown is 33. He is a
- 20:58Speaker 3: country music singer known for Heaven, What Ifs, and Thank God.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think Yeah, so she's 31, he's 33. Kane Brown's
- 21:10Speaker 3: one of the few, if it's the guy I'm thinking of,
- 21:12Speaker 3: one of the few men of color in the country
- 21:15Speaker 3: music area. He's definitely not as white as Tim McGraw,
- 21:19Speaker 3: but he's definitely not as black as Shabuzy.
- 21:23Speaker 4: All three quite talented, though.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I don't really get Shabuzy.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I do. I think he's fun. I like some of
- 21:31Speaker 4: his songs, man. I like it. They're fun.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I think maybe it's because the one song, I got
- 21:40Speaker 2: just tired of it.
- 21:41Speaker 4: I get that.
- 21:43Speaker 3: But look, if you like white girls, white girls love
- 21:45Speaker 3: that song. Did you see the video of Shabuzy and
- 21:50Speaker 3: his friends accidentally photobombing a couple during their wedding?
- 21:57Speaker 2: No.
- 21:59Speaker 3: So there was a couple getting married somewhere off the
- 22:03Speaker 3: Brazos or Guadalupe And while they were having their post-nuptial
- 22:09Speaker 3: wedding photos done, Shaboosie and his friends floated by in
- 22:14Speaker 3: their inner tube.
- 22:18Speaker 4: It's one of the greatest photo bombs of all time.
- 22:20Speaker 3: It's like, not only is it a group of floaters
- 22:23Speaker 3: floating by in the backdrop of your wedding photos, but
- 22:26Speaker 3: it's goddamn Shaboosie.
- 22:29Speaker 4: I mean, that's just, Shaboosie was at our wedding.
- 22:32Speaker 3: That's a cool story. No one else is going to
- 22:34Speaker 3: have it. Other birthdays today. Glenn Powell, 38 years old. Man,
- 22:40Speaker 3: Glenn Powell.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Is having himself a run.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Started arguably before he did Top Gun Maverick. But that
- 22:51Speaker 3: definitely kicked him up a notch when that came out.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And he's been riding that wave ever since. He also
- 22:58Speaker 3: did Twisters, the Twisters remake. He's also now confirmed dating
- 23:04Speaker 3: Cassie Randolph, one of the stars of Landman, which, if
- 23:09Speaker 3: those two kids have babies, that's.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Going to be a good-looking family.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's... He.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Has that cool it factor that I....
- 23:26Speaker 4: Will never have?
- 23:27Speaker 1: No.
- 23:30Speaker 4: And he doesn't wear... a white t-shirt, a white t-shirt
- 23:33Speaker 4: wears him.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Look, I am a straight, straight man, but I get
- 23:38Speaker 3: it when women saw him in twisters wearing the straw
- 23:42Speaker 3: cowboy hat and the white t-shirt is like, yeah, I
- 23:46Speaker 3: get it.
- 23:46Speaker 4: He looked good.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Damn it.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It's interesting though, because he's a Texas fan too. And
- 23:54Speaker 2: for me, he kind of has some of the same
- 23:55Speaker 2: McConaughey vibes of just that, the it cool factor.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Except he looks like he wears good deodorant. Yeah. McConaughey,
- 24:07Speaker 4: you know, is going to be a little.
- 24:08Speaker 2: He does not look like he plays, you know, gets
- 24:10Speaker 2: stoned and plays the bongos naked.
- 24:14Speaker 4: No, he just plays Cassie Randolph.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Well done. Good job. Also, we got Zach Greinke.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Cy Young winning pitcher is 43. He's a six-time all-star,
- 24:30Speaker 3: one of baseball's most memorably unconventional personalities.
- 24:33Speaker 4: If I remember right, he played for the Rangers for
- 24:35Speaker 4: a spell.
- 24:37Speaker 1: He flopped with the Rangers.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Yes, he did. That did not go well for us
- 24:41Speaker 4: Rangers fans.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Not that that puts him in elite category.
- 24:46Speaker 4: It does not. It does not.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Speaking of elite categories or the lack thereof, Kim Kardashian
- 24:53Speaker 3: is 46 today. she is just as qualified to be
- 25:02Speaker 3: the White House, the next press secretary of the White
- 25:06Speaker 3: House as the outgoing one apparently was.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Neither one of them have passed the bar exam. Yeah, that's... Oh,
- 25:17Speaker 4: what a cluster.
- 25:20Speaker 1: That is, and I'll say this. White House press secretary
- 25:25Speaker 1: is one of the hardest jobs in the world.
- 25:28Speaker 4: By far.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I know what we're going to do right now for
- 25:31Speaker 3: the next couple of minutes, and I cannot stress this
- 25:34Speaker 3: to you enough, that it is the most apolitical discussion
- 25:38Speaker 3: about a political situation one could possibly have. Katie Zachariah
- 25:44Speaker 3: had no business in that role, and also that role
- 25:46Speaker 3: is one of the most difficult on the planet.
- 25:48Speaker 4: You're absolutely right, Trey.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I mean, that's... And Trump's not the first person to
- 25:53Speaker 2: flop with one of his picks to do that. It's
- 25:57Speaker 2: happened before. Yeah, she was absolutely unqualified. And it's not
- 26:02Speaker 2: even fair. You are getting, and it doesn't matter, Republican, Democrat, whatever,
- 26:08Speaker 2: it is a horrible job because you have to answer
- 26:10Speaker 2: for shit that, you know, it's not like you can
- 26:15Speaker 2: be an expert on every subject known to man. And
- 26:19Speaker 2: you get thrown curveballs every day. With Trump, even ten
- 26:24Speaker 2: times worse Because he can't stay off his Twitter account
- 26:27Speaker 2: Or whatever the hell it is.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he may Something may happen in the middle of
- 26:31Speaker 3: your press briefing That they're going to ask you about That.
- 26:34Speaker 4: You don't even know about Because he just did it
- 26:36Speaker 4: while you were up there.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And it's funny Because I've been I never watched the
- 26:42Speaker 2: West Wing And so I've been actually watching it Great show.
- 26:47Speaker 4: It gives you serious appreciation for that job.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yeah, go watch what CJ goes through, and that is
- 26:53Speaker 1: a very... Because I've read from.
- 26:56Speaker 2: You can listen to former, whether it's Jim Pisaki or Dana.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Bash?
- 27:04Speaker 1: No, the one on.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Dana Gould.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Why can I only think of Danas that were not
- 27:11Speaker 3: press secretaries?
- 27:14Speaker 4: I can't believe it.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Ari Fleischer, all of them. They'll all tell you that
- 27:18Speaker 2: it's just... I mean, it's just a miserable... miserable job.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Not only is it miserable, but it is extremely difficult.
- 27:28Speaker 3: And that's part of what makes it miserable. And you're absolutely,
- 27:31Speaker 3: once you're behind that podium, you're pretty much on your own.
- 27:34Speaker 3: There's no, one's going to fly in to help you.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Perino Dana Perino. Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 2: But yeah, you're, you're, you are flying by the seat
- 27:40Speaker 2: of your pants 24 seven, basically.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And, and, and this happens, this is just politics.
- 27:48Speaker 2: A lot of times you're going out there and you're
- 27:50Speaker 2: having to sell something that you know is complete bullshit.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And you got to make it look genuine.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You are putting lipstick on a pig.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Now, granted, in her case, very nice lipstick. But it's
- 28:12Speaker 4: still a pig.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Oh, that poor, poor woman. So anyway, Kim Kardashian's 46.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Will Estes is 48.
- 28:22Speaker 4: He played Jamie Reagan on Blue Bloods and J.J. Pryor
- 28:28Speaker 4: on American Dreams.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Going back to Kim Kardashian one second, because she dates
- 28:35Speaker 2: my favorite F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton. And he's actually having
- 28:40Speaker 2: a good year.
- 28:41Speaker 1: And the Kardashians have not had a good effect on athletes.
- 28:45Speaker 4: No, they have a tendency to suck the life out
- 28:46Speaker 4: of it. Right.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And this is the, it's the double negative theory because
- 28:50Speaker 2: Ferrari also tends to F up. They just F up races,
- 28:54Speaker 2: F up drivers. And the theory is that it's, it's
- 28:57Speaker 2: the double negative. It turns into a positive.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Oh, so two wrongs do make a right. Back inside
- 29:07Speaker 4: the tree house. Now I'm Dan.
- 29:08Speaker 3: He's Trey and we have all of our fingers. The
- 29:13Speaker 3: same cannot be said for a man in the UK,
- 29:16Speaker 3: and the way he ended up without one of his
- 29:19Speaker 3: fingers is entertaining, but also what he did with it
- 29:23Speaker 3: afterwards is kind of gross. Trey, imagine going to the
- 29:30Speaker 3: bathroom and leaving without a finger. That's kind of what
- 29:33Speaker 3: happened to Shane Storr. He's 38 years old. He's a
- 29:36Speaker 3: Lincoln City soccer fan. He went to watch his team
- 29:39Speaker 3: play at home against... Bolton on Valentine's Day, but he
- 29:42Speaker 3: left without a finger. He accidentally ripped it off when
- 29:47Speaker 3: he jumped a fence. See, the original, I originally thought
- 29:54Speaker 3: somehow like he got caught in a zipper going to
- 29:56Speaker 3: the bathroom, but I guess he went to a different
- 29:58Speaker 3: area to go pee-pee.
- 30:00Speaker 4: The story just gets better and better. Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I mean, you know, if this was Florida, you'd be like,
- 30:12Speaker 2: all right, you know, a gator bit it off or something.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Sure.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Something normal. Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 3: The 38 year old went to watch his team play
- 30:21Speaker 3: at home against Bolton on Valentine's day, 2026, when his
- 30:24Speaker 3: girlfriend had got him tickets as a present.
- 30:26Speaker 4: See, that's how you give a gift. And you can
- 30:29Speaker 4: put those in a vase and he won't mind.
- 30:32Speaker 3: But a few pints in, he was desperate for a
- 30:34Speaker 3: leak after leaving the ground. He decided to hop over
- 30:38Speaker 3: a fence after leaving the game to spend a penny
- 30:41Speaker 3: in a bush over a fence near the pro impact stadium.
- 30:44Speaker 4: While waiting for his lift home.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:50Speaker 3: But as he hopped over the four foot fence, he
- 30:52Speaker 3: fell backwards, probably because pints. caught his wedding ring on
- 30:57Speaker 3: the corner of the fence, and de-gloved his left finger,
- 31:00Speaker 3: leaving him in agony.
- 31:03Speaker 4: For the record, that is why I wear the Kalo ring.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Not because of this story, but because a good police
- 31:11Speaker 3: officer friend of ours recommended it because he almost got
- 31:15Speaker 3: his finger de-gloved, and he switched to these, and Tara
- 31:18Speaker 3: and I switched to these as well.
- 31:24Speaker 2: And degloving, for those who don't know, is when basically
- 31:27Speaker 2: all the skin and flesh gets.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Torn off your finger. Yeah. But it's like it.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It just leaves the meaty underdigit.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 31:39Speaker 3: It looks like your finger has been uncircumcised. Or overly circumcised,
- 31:45Speaker 3: depending on how you look at it. Anyway, he hopped
- 31:48Speaker 3: over a four-foot fence, fell backwards, caught his wedding ring
- 31:50Speaker 3: on the corner of the fence, and degloved his left finger.
- 31:54Speaker 3: For those that don't know, degloving is a severe injury
- 31:56Speaker 3: that happens when the top layers of skin and tissue
- 31:58Speaker 3: are ripped from the underlying muscle, connective tissue.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Or bone.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Emergency services were called. Paramedics rushed to the scene and
- 32:05Speaker 3: administered first aid on the dad of six, eventually finding
- 32:10Speaker 3: his lost finger on the floor near a KFC. Oh,
- 32:14Speaker 3: that's a part of the story that sounds like it
- 32:15Speaker 3: would be Florida. What? I'm just glad it didn't end
- 32:21Speaker 3: up in someone's chicken tendies.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 1: How did we get to a KFC?
- 32:26Speaker 4: They have them there.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I know that, but how did we go from jumping
- 32:30Speaker 2: a fence to our fingers in a KFC?
- 32:33Speaker 4: It wasn't in a KFC. It was just near a KFC. Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 3: After scooping it up from the ground, they stashed it
- 32:43Speaker 3: in a takeaway cup and ice from the Kentucky Fried
- 32:46Speaker 3: Chicken fast food chain and took it with them to
- 32:48Speaker 3: the hospital. So, you know, they were lucky they were
- 32:51Speaker 3: near a colonel. stomach-churning photo showed Shane nursing his bloody
- 33:00Speaker 3: hand after the horror incident. Sadly, his finger could not
- 33:04Speaker 3: be saved. So he did what a lot of people
- 33:08Speaker 3: do in these situations.
- 33:10Speaker 4: He pickled it in a jar in his house. On
- 33:19Speaker 4: display for all to see.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Don't get me wrong, makes for a great Halloween decoration,
- 33:24Speaker 3: but it's his actual finger in a pickle jar, like
- 33:27Speaker 3: on the shelf.
- 33:29Speaker 4: This is what's weird.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I can do blood and guts, but I saw the
- 33:34Speaker 3: photo of his finger in the pickling liquid in the jar,
- 33:38Speaker 3: and that actually made me kind of sick.
- 33:40Speaker 4: I could see the finger de-gloved. I could see it
- 33:42Speaker 4: hanging by a thread. No problem. Seeing it in the jar, bleh.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Why? I mean.
- 33:51Speaker 4: He's proud.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Of what?
- 33:58Speaker 3: Of being drunk and falling off a four-foot fence? Yeah,
- 34:01Speaker 3: it makes no sense. His finger is now displayed in
- 34:04Speaker 3: a jar of rubbing alcohol in his The Nine Fingers
- 34:09Speaker 3: in Man Cave. A likely new endorser to the silicone
- 34:17Speaker 3: ring industry.
- 34:18Speaker 4: He actually is.
- 34:19Speaker 3: He does now urge people to wear the silicone rings.
- 34:24Speaker 3: He also said it was just crazy. I'd cut the
- 34:26Speaker 3: game short and I was waiting to get a lift,
- 34:28Speaker 3: but I'd had a couple of beers at the game
- 34:29Speaker 3: and I needed to take a leak.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I was just waiting on the streets. I nipped over
- 34:33Speaker 4: this fence.
- 34:34Speaker 3: I've still got the wedding ring that didn't even snap.
- 34:37Speaker 3: And that's what caught on the corner of the fence post.
- 34:39Speaker 4: And it's snagged on it.
- 34:42Speaker 3: He also now has a tattoo at the base of
- 34:45Speaker 3: his hand where the, like the knuckle, uh, where the
- 34:50Speaker 3: ring finger used to be. And it's, It says loading
- 34:54Speaker 3: with a circle loading emblem, like for your computer.
- 35:02Speaker 4: So he definitely has a sense of humor about it.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just gross. I realize that the finger is
- 35:12Speaker 3: not there to be eaten, but because he is keeping
- 35:15Speaker 3: it in his home pub, I've always wondered this. Anytime
- 35:19Speaker 3: I've been in somebody's house or gone to a bar especially,
- 35:22Speaker 3: and they have certain things pickling in the back, like
- 35:25Speaker 3: behind the bar, like pickled eggs. I've seen green beans,
- 35:31Speaker 3: pickled pig's feet. I don't understand the pickling. Don't get
- 35:35Speaker 3: me wrong.
- 35:35Speaker 4: I love a pickle.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I don't like cucumbers, but I like a pickled cucumber,
- 35:41Speaker 3: which is just a pickle. I don't like a bunch
- 35:45Speaker 3: of other pickled stuff. I don't want pickled asparagus.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I don't want.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Pickled green beans. And I sure as hell don't want
- 35:52Speaker 3: pickled eggs. That doesn't even, that doesn't sound anywhere near good.
- 35:57Speaker 3: And the farts.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Oh my God. I can't even.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I've never had a pickle. I'm like, I like pickled okra.
- 36:05Speaker 2: There's a lot of things I like, but the pickled
- 36:08Speaker 2: eggs I've never understood. Although if I think about, you know,
- 36:13Speaker 2: a deviled egg, it does have some dill in there.
- 36:15Speaker 4: A little bit, but it's not all dill. Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Uh, the pig's feet. Hell no.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Uh, look, like sucking on a pig's foot is not
- 36:25Speaker 3: my idea of fine cuisine. And I don't think anyone
- 36:27Speaker 3: necessarily sees it that way, but I'm also not desperate.
- 36:31Speaker 3: And I can't, I, I like pork and I'll eat
- 36:36Speaker 3: some off cuts of certain things here and there. Like
- 36:39Speaker 3: I'll do some beef cheeks. I did, uh, uh, the
- 36:42Speaker 3: one time at the loon for the Christmas party and
- 36:43Speaker 3: they had the pig out. I was the one that
- 36:45Speaker 3: took the tongs and started ripping it off the face.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Of the pig. People were looking at me like I
- 36:49Speaker 4: was a serial killer. Like, no, this is where the
- 36:51Speaker 4: good stuff is. Trust me. I am not going to
- 36:54Speaker 4: gnaw on the pig's foot. I'm not doing it. And
- 36:56Speaker 4: I'm certainly not going to do it if it's been pickled.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Blech. You ate the ass, though, didn't you?
- 37:04Speaker 4: I'll eat that ass. But don't pickle it.
- 37:15Speaker 3: All right, I believe that does it for this episode
- 37:20Speaker 3: of The Treehouse. I think we've maxed out as far
- 37:22Speaker 3: as I'm concerned. We will see you next time right
- 37:25Speaker 3: here inside The Treehouse. If you loved what you heard,
- 37:27Speaker 3: share it with a friend, and together we can grow
- 37:30Speaker 3: The Treehouse Show.
- 37:31Speaker 4: We'll see you next time right here inside The Treehouse.
