Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: and here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: It is incredible to be with you guys today.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty excited for today's episode.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers have today's song.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: Today off, there's no practicing, which common logic would say, at least no more injuries.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you gotta find the bright side, the rest,
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: is needed.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: So a couple of things I want to detail today.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Lots of new transactions on the back into the roster, 49ers bringing in not one but two edge pressures, not one but two tight ends over the course of the past week, want to detail that.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to continue with our countdown series numbers 18 through 14, most impactful players on the 20 26 49ers roster.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the sad news.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: Three out of five are already injured.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking top 18 players three out of five eight practicing and it's just turned into I mean the 49ers had two full practices eight injuries
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: had a jog through day then a practice yesterday and with the way the injury reports are coming out, you're not getting news on the injuries until a day to two days later.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't even know the repercussions from yesterday's practice yet because the Niners, they control when that information comes out and they try to do it in a strategic way so that people don't talk about it as much.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to allow that to pass.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what we got today.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: So the 40-dieters team and every single team goes through injuries and the 40-dieters don't have it the worst.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: They definitely have the most injuries so far in camp.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: But not the most significant.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking two players with torn ACLs, two key contributors with torn ACLs for the Panthers already in first and second year players.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: just, uh, forget terrible.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, two of fair players that we had next sports on, we were really high on last year, and then Chris Brazel, who is, you know, not, we didn't get the rush crush because the off the field, but I was way higher on them than everybody else.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: Their seasons are done.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: So the 49ers aren't in that category of.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: major injuries, but whatever you're talking about, the amount, the quantity of injuries, yeah, they're number one in the NFL shockers.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Stop me if you've heard that before.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what it's going to be.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,680 of the 49ers rush podcast.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I do have to just a real quick shout out to my man, Dave Dickerson.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: He sent us some sweaters to give away at a, you know, one of our 49ers rush telegate events.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't come in time before I left.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so I had them in a box stored and now, you know, we're moving, we're moving tomorrow.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: So there's not going to be a show tomorrow tomorrow.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: As soon as this show was done today, I'm packing up the entire studio and setting and getting that ready to to be moved.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then the next show that we'll have probably won't do a show tomorrow.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: because internet's not on yet at the new place and all that stuff, but I will be at camp, or at least that's the plan, unless the wife kills me first.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I will be at camp on Saturday.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: So that is the plan, right?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: So moving Friday, I should be at camp Saturday and do a live report there, which should be a lot of fun.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: but that that's kind of where we're at.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: But shout out to my man, Dave Dickerson, because he sent us some stuff to give away, which I'm super excited.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get any time.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: But, man, I felt bad.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: I opened it.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: I looked at what was in the box.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was a couple awesome 49ers just, you know, sweaters that we get to give away.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't unpack it.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I unpacked it.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: And there was a card in there.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: My man, Dave, just so kind.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so just
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: salute to Dave.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you're watching today.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to say thank you.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get all that stuff that you sent us in the hands of 49ers fans.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, thank you for the card in the generosity your freaking awesome man.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: My man, appreciate all the hashtag CCs coming in strong with sunshine first.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Captain 9 appreciate you guys.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Monkey Kimbro.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we got a strong chat coming today, baby.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, stars out scrubs in what's new.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I like that, Doc, appreciate you guys.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yotsick, my man, and dude, hopefully New York is treating you well.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, man?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: We got Matthew, Dan, case, and the house.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Is it true that Fred was hired by the substation AI system?
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, awesome, awesome post, awesome, awesome post.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Love it, Captain, way too many injuries and no pads.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I can't wait for pads to come on.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: More entries are coming, like, understand.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: More entries are coming, it's going to happen.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: but hopefully you mitigated as much as possible, you managed through it.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the good news is so far, everybody besides Ricky Pearsaw, none of the injuries seem to be long-term.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: I fully expect every single player that's been injured to be back before the start of the season.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Ricky Pearsaw is the one that has the asterisk next to that name.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Very possible he doesn't play at all this year.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: If the 49ers managed the entry properly, which they never do, by far the worst sports medicine program in the NFL.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: The same person that has in charge of it has been there since 2017 and been promoted somehow.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: And the recurring entries, the amount of recurring hamstrings, recurring caststrings.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: can be avoided.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then he throw in the, you know, Ricky Pierce saw PCL completely mismanaged.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got the kiddo.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he had issues with his ankle and knee before he tore the Achilles, just horrible.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: No clue how this person still has a job.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: No clue how this person's to and we're not that podcast.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: No clue how that person still has a job.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: No clue how that person still has a job.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're not those guys.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: this is absolutely insanity, man.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would be upset with the new practice facility.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not big into the substation theory, but yeah, it's just it sucks, man.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And whatever you're been this bad through the course of 10 years, you've had one healthy season and 10 seasons.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, change some things, man.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Legat is starting for Xavier Legat, who I liked a lot, went right after Ricky Pierce saw.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: They've had very similar careers.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody has really stood out.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: I would argue Ricky Pierce saw.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably been better whenever he's out there, but he's never out there.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Legat's starter for them.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: It would be hard to trade for that player.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: I would like him.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: I doubt that the Panthers would want to give up on him.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now that Chris Bross was done for the year, and there we go.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: Dustin Perry, there's the name.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I won't go to say you said it, no clue, man.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: What would you say you do here?
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Jacks?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, Dave.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are awesome, man.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: So also be with the real.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, all the way from across international.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm talking about, man.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be flying over on my sum to Comparty and LA.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: We are planning to be at the L.A. game.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be throwing a huge tailgate.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not finalized yet.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: The moves kicking my butt.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm just going to be real honest with you, Chapman down.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Going from a four bedroom and all this stuff to this tidy two bedroom apartment, the wife is pissed.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're stressed all those things, but yeah, Chapman down.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: But that's okay.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing what we cared and so yeah, I'm just behind in everything trying to get this move done and anyway, almost in the review mirror.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson, would you go after Debo now?
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, I'm more so than I would have.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want Tibo in this locker room if I want to be very honest with you.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the biggest dbo guy.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate everything that he has done.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: He forces way off this team.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: He held out and did all that stuff, coached I used to do all of his stuff.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: I personally don't want Tibo around to be honest with you and I don't trust Kyle Shanahan not force feeding Dibo not beating man coverage whenever he's in the twilight of his career.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: If Dibo's got to come in for under $5 million in sin of base contract, he's got to be starting kick returner punt returner and understand he is not a starting wide receiver on this team.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: and Kyle Shanahan can agree.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to force feed him passes against main coverage whatever that's just never should have ever happened ever in the history of the 49ers.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then yeah, I'm more into it.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Put the Kyle issue.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: Debo's got to understand.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're coming in as a backup specialty role.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: And it's got to be cheap as hell.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'd be interested in it.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I really I'd be also the I'd rather have Tyler Lockett.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's coming back.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: I want separators.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want separators.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Debo has never been that.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he is a spark plug and a playmaker.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: X-factor, all those things.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm cool with Debo coming in, but it's got to be on very, very cautious terms.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so cheap contract, you're not a starter.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle, you can't force feed them all these different things.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, that's where that is.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, bitch?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Ben, Josh, Zack, Executive Producer's of this show.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to some transactions.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: Remelo height, gets cramps, gets carted off.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: And it took the 49ers 24 hours to say, wow, if that happens, we are screwed.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: I've been saying this all off season.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like you have no backup past rush speed guy.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have it on the roster.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: So they go out and they signed Quentin Bell, former seventh rounder.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's got one sack in six seasons.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: He did win a Super Bowl with Tampa, but back into the roster guy.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: He signed KJ Henry.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was a fourth rounder.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's got two and a half sacks in three seasons.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: Much more promising.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: uh... but only played in one game last year these are back into the roster guys is this is what you get at this part of the season they did it but now the 49ers at least have guys that can practice at that position that are speed smaller options off the edge don't expect either one of these guys to contribute but you have somebody to play that role you give
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: your defense of coordinator, or he more is some options for passure specialists outside of just the draft pick, Melahai.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: You bring in not one, but two tight ends, Josiah DeGara, a smaller receiving option, six, two, two, 40, almost full back size, but he could be the receiving type guy, and then you brought in Tanner McLaughlin earlier, and he's the bigger blocker type.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: So two positions that you don't have depth at.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: two more dns, two more tight ends.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I've been screaming tight in, I've been screaming tight and I've been screaming tight in, and I'm thankful that they finally are addressing it.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect any of these players to contribute.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: But you start rotating the back into the roster and see if something catches, at least they could come in and special teams, know the system, you could plug them in, worst case scenario, all those different things.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Captain Ramello cramps so hard he came back with the new number.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of Raj from RSF Niners posted a clip of him and I was like to be fair number 94 got carded off with cramps number 58 He's an all-prone making cramps so hard came back with a new number.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: I love that that is awesome That is awesome.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into our countdown We got five players were in a detail today three of which are injured and not practicing started with number 18 Man, I think we missed this one.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: We did this
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: ranking most important 49ers for this season alone one through ninety one all four of us ranked them zack bin Josh myself.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Malik mo stoppa came in number 18 and we did this right after the draft.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: way before OTAs, way before training camp, way before all those things, way before they even signed action Davis.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe our biggest miss so far, if I had to redo it, I think Malax is going to be down in the 30s, 40s.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even getting started or snaps and back to back off season with the hamstring issue.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to make a missed time.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: Marky Seagulls getting reps over him, which I'm not necessarily against.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: But we've seen how good mallet can be.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 17 on the list last year, 34 on the list in 2024.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number six, 510209, one of the toughest dudes, you know, workout warrior, awesome mentality, just very inconsistent play.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: went to college at Richmond, transferred to Wake Forest.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's 23 years old.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: He was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Abdul Malik, Mustafa.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: He began at Audrey Key High School then transferred to Weddington High School to elevate the competition level.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: He was the 2019 Charlotte defensive back in the year.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: First team all stay, all conference, you name it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was on Bruce Feldman's athletic list.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like you see this dude is just like, what the hell?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Looks like Mr. Universe.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, nobody fat on his body grew up with Will Shipley.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: They were Pop Warner teammates.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: How cool is that?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let his high school to a perfect 16-in-0 state title in 2019.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Ran in 115 in the 100, jumped 21-11 in the long jump.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: team captain for Wake Forest despite transferring.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: He was awesome and he's admitted Big Time Who Funk a fan loved the 49ers growing up played with them all the time and met Madden and his favorite player was Frank Gore He goes to the combine gets one interview Malachman stuff.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: I guess who is with the 49ers and guess who's in the interview Frank freaking gore They could be the truth baby
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: so much cool stuff.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: That is there.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: And press the leadership so much John Litch and Mitted, his favorite interview with the Combine was Malik Mustafa.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: Just awesome.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Get strapped in the fourth round, pick one 24 right after Malik Mustafa, Bucky Irving, Ray Davis.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: I was really high on Ray Davis, Bucky Irvin, not near as high, but he's been awesome.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he's the best return so far of the fifth round that draft is a bad round.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: So like you've got your valued thus far.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: Your hoping mallet can take steps forward, injuries, Retour as ACL, hamstring, now re-enters the hamstring,
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: just rough to just rough in two seasons.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's played 1500 snaps 92 special team, and that's what he might be.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Malat and we stop a might just be a stud special teamer and backup safety moving forward.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: If Marquis Seagull can seize this job, that's just coming on time packages maybe, but probably not because he's not great in coverage.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: The problem with Malat and we
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: his hits are awesome.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: He'll come up in lay the wood just doesn't wrap up consistently.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: At where special teams debt piece for a fifth rounder, that's not terrible.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: We thought we were getting another fifth round all star after his rookie year.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's just getting buried on the debt chart.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's where he started 13 games last year.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: But like you look at his numbers, 62 overall grade, 61 against the run, 59 against the past, it's hard to find what he's great at consistently, it's just not there.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Through two years he's made $2.3 million, so you'd love to see that.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to stay healthy and not getting snaps.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be even further down the depth chart.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's a mountain of stuff.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: Come to number 18.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: Campero, my man.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super chat, European on-generalists.

- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush podcast at gmail.com.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's get to number 17.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: Another defense back that is plain that was getting a lot of scrutiny all of season.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, he has launched up three consecutive positive practices.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: So much so now he's behind the podium and talking at press conference.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: Renardo Green comes in number 17.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 10 last year.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we thought he was going to take off and become
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: a stud and didn't happen last year, but he's played a lot of football.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 26 his rookie year.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: He has fallen, but so much of that being top 10 last year wasn't so much about Ronaldo Green.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's about the roster.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: There was a drop at seven.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: You had seven studs last year and from like eight to twenty.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: giant gap.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: This year, not so much.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: So Renardo Green dropping from 10 to 17, not so much against Renardo.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's because you added guys like OSA Digi Zua.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: You added guys like Mike David.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: You added guys like Drake Greenlaw.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like you added so many top tier players that are free agents.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: It just kept sliding down, sliding down, sliding down, sliding down.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: And to be honest, Renardo Green did have some lapses.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: football IQ is probably his biggest weakness, but man, I loved talking about this yesterday with Larry.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: I loved Ronaldo Green's press conference.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: I hate most player press conferences.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: You don't get much because the questions aren't great and the players are just trying to mess up.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Ronaldo Green's attitude came across very clear.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to compete.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want to fight with my brothers.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all in like, I ain't scared of anybody.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: I want to fight and it was awesome.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just like, all right, like this is, we're not a greens not big.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's six foot, 186.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: But a stature is small.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like he doesn't have a wide frame.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's cornered back.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Man, feisty, and the attitude matches.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you love it.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number zero?
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Six foot, 186, he's 25 years old.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: As old as some of the rookies for the 49ers.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Played at Florida State, the Ciminals.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Florida Kid threw him through.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Went to Wakeva High School and a popka.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I said that right Florida.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: He was a quarterback as a freshman before he transitioned to corn nerve back.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: Four interceptions, 23 pass breakups is a senior.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Boss skills are good.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: You would like a little bit more in that category.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was a three-star recruit with the Florida State.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: Played with Ted and Beth Thune.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: They were close friends, lived in the same apartment complex, all that different stuff.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: He was a true press corner at Florida State and he just talked about that yesterday.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: Where in college, man, you just line up and play man wherever he goes you go.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Transitioning to the zone mindset and all those things just gets difficult.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, now you've got to read two to one You've got to understand split.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to understand down distance That's where he has struggled He gets drafted in the end of the second round.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was the last player's racked in the second round 20 24 draft
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: I was a little shocked at his third round grade on him.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: He went a little bit earlier.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: I was the biggest Drew Phillips Andrew Phillips.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: He was my shadow pick of who I would have taken.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: He went five picks later.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: They've had very similar careers.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: Drew's been a little bit better.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: like Renardo Green has lived up to the building for the 64th overall pick.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: He started 21 games in two years, played in 31 games, just got to fix those kind of knucklehead plays and the thing that makes Renardo Green special 23 pass breakups in 21 starts.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: Dude's got a pass break up per game.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now only one interception.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: You'd like to convert some of those to turnovers.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: 121 tackles.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got benched Kyle yelled at him on the sidelines a couple times.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Jumping out routes on 3rd and 16 can't do that.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: Back to back games can't do that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: Cover 3 cover 6 can't get BT.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: There are some lapses.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now, where he Morris, he has not had a season with the quality defense of back, minded defense coordinator and Jerry Grayback there.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: I expect his play to uptick, I really do.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: And the competition of Jack Jones, Nate Hobbs, a fusion price sock, all those guys do not know.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: Green is about it, about it.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: He ain't scared of the competition, just got to get smarter and understand situational awareness.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Um, did have a neck injury last year, Miss a couple games had an ankle and a hamstring issues the lingering, you know, nothing too lingering, but just kind of troublesome, but man, this guy started 14 games played almost a thousand snaps.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good tackler needs to be a little bit more.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: imposing in the run game.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's got kind of this wait and just let the run game come to me type thing needs to get a little bit more aggressive and force a little bit better as the force edge guy as the corner outside corner, but.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: He cut his miss tackles from eight.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: He had eight miss tackles his rookie year, Renardo Green cut it to four last year.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: You like that, the tackling's good.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Just need to come up and support a little better closer to the line of scrimmage and press the issue a little bit more, but Renardo Green comes in number 17.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: You love the way training camps going for almost all the defensive backs that aren't injured.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty pumped about Agent Zero.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: I was not one of the guys that wanted him to get traded.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: The football IQ I struggle with, I probably penalize him much more for that than most people.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: The coaching me just, you know, I just go straight to the single-terry clip.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do it.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: Can't win with them.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Won't do it.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you got to be smart.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: I struggle with dumb players.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think we're not a green's dumb, but...
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's ways to behave on 3rd and 16.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's ways to behave in the final 30 seconds of a half that you just got to be smarter about.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it maybe he got those lessons.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he got those lessons.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to the chat.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I'm not trying to neglect you guys.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are incredible.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Agency, just arrived.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: Couldn't be more happy that we're only six weeks away from the opening game.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: Man, pads tomorrow.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, I have to miss the first day in pads.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: I just scheduled the movers in the move intake before they announced all the training camp dates.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: I was gambling and I gambled wrong.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: Put it all a black came up green if that double zero.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: That ain't cool.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I am rea.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: He did so good and press.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he does.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Great mentality.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's great at man's psych forum.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: The future's bright for Ronaldo and he's young.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's young going into his third season.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up, Colue?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Colue, appreciate you, man.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody in, I mean, nobody throws a 49ers party like Mr. Chavin.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my man, thank you.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: 49ersrushrochip.com, come party with us, man.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, thank you, thank you, that means the world to me.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Love Greens confidence, yeah, it's just gotta be consistent.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, right back at you, John, you were the best man.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Agency, go into my first rush road trip this year to Atlanta, dude, I can't wait.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: I got family in Atlanta.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: One, that stadium's badass.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Artel Gatespot is literally a block and a half from the stadium, D best tailgate spot that you can get in Atlanta.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna be at the battery the day before.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I am, this is a, you know, growing up, I don't think I've talked about this a few times on the show.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: My dad lived in Atlanta so I have all my father's side extended family cousins, you know, they all live around Atlanta.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been to hundreds of brave games like the brave's are my favorite baseball team.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: My dad, you know, way back to Sid Breme, Ron Gant, obviously the pitcher's Greg Max and my favorite ever like dude, brave's bro, just brave's.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: was going to be on the road.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: I called the battery right away.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, dude, we're getting this secured.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to my buddy Scott.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's secured it.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best man, the best part or ever.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and so yeah, our our parties.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: If yeah, the batteries a little bit outside of Atlanta.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: This was for me, man.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, come party with us.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush roadtrip.com, come on, man.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, uh, Atlanta's gonna be the time.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Maria, JC, bye far the best night in a podcast.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate the kind words.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: You engage with the chat, care about shared ideas.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: I like many others that wait to the end of the show to read if people pay, class act.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's very kind of you.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's oh look at that.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: I did say it shout out to bid you did say I don't want to say to get a pop curve right I did say it right the Florida names they get me
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate that.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Gerardo.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Coming in on Twitch.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: We don't give a lot of Twitch subscribers and watchers.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate you, man.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: What's up Tommy, glad you're here in the Tories, glad you guys are here.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: Dad, if a Nardo refuses to give up the corner back to you spot, then what happens with the two veteran cornerbacks that we brought in?
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't one of them do like three million?
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you have the debt.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: You can run some three corner sets, which has done.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: Your dime package, you can bring that in.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can have a big nickel, which where he mores is done.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: That knee hops could play that role.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Or you just have depth.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: You put those guys in special team.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: And man, $3 million for a backup corner veteran corner isn't a bad thing.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: So, I remember the Brian Allen days.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: I remember not having the depth there.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: Having the depth is one of the biggest differences between 20, 25, 49ers, 20, 26, 40.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: You've got depth at a lot of key positions.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: You don't at safety, you don't at running back, and you don't at tight end.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: Everywhere else, you kind of have a lot of veteran depth.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: So having that depth at corner, you haven't had an injury there yet.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: If something does happen, which, let's be honest, let's anticipate more injuries.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's gonna help us.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: You have the depth there.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, so I think that that's important.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's where it is.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now, man, we're staying with the defense of back room.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: Another healthy player.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: Number 16, I love this guy.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: I am concerned.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: his role in this Rahimura's defense isn't going to be what I wanted to be but by far one of my favorite players number 16, updance doubt, shout out to the Wayne Breezy.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: He was so high on updance doubt.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: I was not his call to say, I just thought, man, a little bit too small.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, didn't play that way.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't play the way in college tape, but I wouldn't sure it hold up.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's been awesome.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: 5881, mighty mouse, the stud, man.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love Upton Stout.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was 23 last year.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's jumped up 16, like he is climbed.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: He just got hit on the field more.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's not his fault.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: The 49er sub package so much that he only gets 15 to the 20 snaps of game in the nickel package.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: Stay in the damn nickel.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's by far one of the best players.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's only 24 years old.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was at North Texas in transfer into Western Kentucky.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: They held toppers.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: Texas kid born in race in Houston went to North Shore high school.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: I hate North Shore high school by far one of the best programs in the country the Mustangs Dunkinville where I coach in North Shore.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: They have played in six of the last eight Texas championship games, which is just unprecedented.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: North Shore has their number.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: North Shore is one four Dunkinville's one two.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm I'm pissed about that.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a Dunkinville guy.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so, but North Shore's badass, like this, let's just understand, it is top five program in the country in an eight five and probably four.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: It probably top three.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: They're incredible.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's where Upton Stout is coming from.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: Three star recruit, but with so small, he didn't get a lot of those big tier schools.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, go to North Texas, then he transferred a Western Kentucky was a team captain at Western Kentucky has his own clothing line love to see that lazy ways with these L a z y w a y z lazy ways one word.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's pretty cool.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted by the Niners with a very clear vision.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to play nickel and you're going to play nickel only.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: came in incredible as a rookie and just man, just rocketing straight up, just upward trajectory with not not very many bumps in the road, started off like, okay, you could see it, had some issues, teams were picking on them early, teams started throwing away from late, and just a high impact place that matter on third downs, fourth quarter.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: It just shows up, man, just nasty.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: Small as hell, you have 58, 181, but don't play like it.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Drafted in the third round, pick 100th overall.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of talented guys went after them.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: You go back to the 2025 draft.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: That was the strength, the third and fourth round.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Chimera Dike for Tennessee was an all-pro returner as a rookie camp, Skatobo Craig Woodson, that would have been my pick.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was a rush crush guy, Danny Stuttspin, like all those guys went like six picks.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now, up and stout is up there with all of them.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: I have no qualms whatsoever with that pick.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: But man, it's fun, you know, a lot of times whenever you're looking back, and it's only been a year, right?
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: But whatever we go through the, you know, roster count down at look at the draft where they were picked and I look at the guys above and below them.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, alright, like, mountain of stuff, you look around.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, dude, yeah, he's one of the better players in that round.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: You look it up to the town.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, damn dude, there's a lot of really good players that went in that area.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so it is fun.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: looking back, hindsight 2020 always.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I would have took Craig Woods and I was the biggest Craig Woods in fan dude started day one for the Patriots all the way to the Super Bowl.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's a freaking stud cow guy.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was so weird to me.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, dude, why is nobody talking about Craig Woods?
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: I felt very similar to Craig Woods and in Deshawn Stribbling.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like where I was like dude, I'm two rounds higher than everybody else.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Am I high enough?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: Should I be higher on these guys?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: up to one one of them, but if you told me right now knowing what we know now, 49ers taking up the stout over Craig, what's in I'd be like, okay, I get it.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Upton could be a home run pick.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Very easily could become the best nickel in the NFL.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: That is the trajectory that he is on.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: Will Rahim Morris use the nickel more.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't use it a lot.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: He really doesn't.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that is my biggest concern with Upton has not to do with Upton, just like dude, stay in freakin' nickel.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: Keep this dude out there.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: The five defensive line fronts and the fourth, three over under where you roll over the linebacker.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, if you do that, there's no nickel.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: If you do big nickel, you regular, like, up to the stouties to be on the damn field.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: I want this two-point 35, 40 snaps of game, figure it out.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: I want the best to leaven out there.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let the sub packages, don't overthink it.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Put your studs out there, he's a stud, he is a stud, he is a stud.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: 82 tackles last year, four tackles for loss, one sack, one force fumble, five pass breakups, and he could blitz man, now he does, his biggest problem, he could tackle big running backs, tight ends, wide receivers with these.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the biggest red flag I had with up to South last year is quarterbacks got away from on my lot.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that Saints game.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: He just could not bring down What was that quarterback's name anyway?
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't shug.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: It was the other quarterback Spencer Rattler.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: He couldn't bring him down several times quarterbacks made him with but he's so good in the run fit man.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you just see it
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: So good at the line of scrimmage.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: I love that dude, man.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: 72.2 pass rush grade blitz this dude shark blitz baby K1 2.0 love K1 Miss week seven with an ankle had a concussion and week 18 none of those long-term issues He's just been awesome.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: I love up and stout.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love up and stout.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know anybody that doesn't Love up and stout.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's freaking awesome, man
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just I freaking love it dude.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up?
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this Martin.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: He says I'm in Virginia living Florida I'm going to Atlanta.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, what's up, David Walner my man speaking to Duncanville.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's not there anymore He's retired shout out to David Walner retired teacher.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would call him my mentor, but he's not smart enough for that He is a cowboys fan, but he is retired now shout out to you and the wife man appreciate you being hope everything's all right Stout yeah, he flew up this year
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: I, look at this crazy juice.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Up did the Chihuahua stout.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: Cowboys actually have a really good roster.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: They do not rule that, yeah.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Upton Scott that mustard.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: That is, I'm not a mustard guy.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a ketchup guy.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a spicy ketchup guy.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: I buy my ketchup from Texas.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: I get water purger, spicy ketchup, shipped to me in California.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: That is how Texas I am.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, probably should have admitted that.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: Niners in, as you know, what's up, man?
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: He says, were you a fan of Jeff Garcia?
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: Is he a top five San Francisco quarterback?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, love the super chat.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Little off topic, but that's okay.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think, I do.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: There it will always be a place in my heart for guys that leave it all on the field.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not a Baker May field fan because he went to OU and how classy was early on in his career.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: I love Baker May field now.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do it.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: And probably one of my favorite things was watching the Netflix series quarterback.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: He was the star of this season.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: I love guys that play that way that just leave it all out there and you know, I see Jeff Garcia's rocky I really really do this undersized just tough as hell makes no sense the unorthodox way He came to the NFL and you know, I'll be honest with you part of the reason why I'm not the biggest T.O.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: guy obviously twirl Owens is top three wide receiver all time incredible incredible But like I struggle with guys that force themselves off the team
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Twirl Owens did that in large part because the Jeff Garcia right like he wanted to be a part of this prototypical quarterback and boost his numbers like that affects me.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, all right, you want out get to get your shit.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: Go, I feel the same way with Debo like you wanted out pro piece you out now.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: That is a flaw in my character.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that that is a defense mechanism that Chapman has built on a life of a lot of family trauma to say to put it lightly.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so like that's just who I am.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's who I is in the papai, right?
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like I am what I am.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: I love Jeff Garcia.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: Is he a top five quarterback?
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: Probably not.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's right on that cuss, Joe Montana, Steve Young, easy brought parties three now.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Kaepernick was the best quarterback in the NFL for a very short glimpse, a Kaepernick brought back, you know, from those stupid Dennis Ericsson and terrible Nolan and like just being horrible forever, Kaepernick was the guy that was just like dude, nine or so back, baby.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then as soon as it showed up, as soon as it disappeared, um,
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: So like I'm going to put cappernick there.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: I would put Jeff Garcia ahead of This might rub some people the wrong way.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: He had some number 10 Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I guess he would be a top five for me now
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: go old hats and you talk John Brody, you talk why a tiddle, you go through those guys.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how to replicate that conversation with when ever I've been around.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a completely different time.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Brody was amazing.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: His MVP season was not with the 49ers.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, am I mixing up my tiddle?
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make sure I get that correct.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you look, yeah, I was wrong.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting John Brody ahead of all those guys.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: So let me revise my order.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: John Brody played 17 years with the Niners.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of those were really, really bad years.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: He had a losing record as a quarterback.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: He threw more interceptions and touchdowns is a different game.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going Joe.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going Steve.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going Brock.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going John.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going cap, then I'm going, oh, I know I just pissed people off.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: And have he said that this is a short glimpse off the cuff.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: I am up for healthy debate.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: These are not in pin or Sharpie.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: These are in pencil in a race several times, and I'm comfortable moving around.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: John Brody played 17 years with the 49ers.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Why a title was the one that became MVP after he left.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why a title up there.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'm not putting Jimmy Garoppolo in there.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'm going Joe Steve Brock.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think Brock.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: I, his story is incredible and I think he's going to be with the Niners for a long time.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to move guys ahead of them because he's only been in the quarterback for, you know, four years now.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: Totally get that.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, Joe Steve Brock, then I'm going Brody, then I'm going cap, then I'm going Garcia.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's my six.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I hate that.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody's got to be out.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: are you kicking out brody or you keep it a lot of people just cap that they have bad taste in the mouth with what happened there but uh... and i mean i i i freaking adore that man now is he perfect got no uh... do i grew there they did know uh... but do i love political stand up for what you want and even though like i like cappernick more because he lost his career and stood on his police
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Even if I disagreed with those beliefs, I'd be cool with that.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like I political discourse and protesting, I don't even give a damn what it is.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll show up to any protest that's peaceful any time ever.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all for it, baby.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's just because I taught history and I think the first amendment matters.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Great questions.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, let's get to, uh, right here, uh, pin some metal.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the super chat.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: Dalton can cater for surgery.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: He had a full tear.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: He dealt with this in November 24th, re-engineered it in the 25 training camp.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's still all speculation.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm not one of the ones with Ricky Pierce all saying that just have the surgery now, I would wait a couple of weeks see what happens when the swelling goes down reassess and then decided that point.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like given another go.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because that several month timeline, if you have the surgery, which shut down as season now, but.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: You've got time to where he, give them three to four weeks.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Get back out there and if it happens again, then shut them down.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I think.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I've seen nothing.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a medical expert.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just go it off.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Timelines is speculation is there.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: But I could tell you should have had this now hindsight, right?
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: Should have had the surgery last year.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: And we, four, this was a September injury last year.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's moved.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: No, don't apologize to David.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: David Wallner deserves all the hate and criticism that you can give.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Trust me.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: He could take it.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't block him.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they stopped to set your back.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're all right.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're still here.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: You're all right.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: You deserve all the hate that you could get trust me.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's his love language be a David eat lunch together for years and just make fun of each other.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's like Hater's ball man.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great guy.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: They do give them all the hate that you guys want.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Please.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy, appreciate you, man.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: Strength and conditioning.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: Staff, what would you say yet do here?
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: The amount of
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: That is the problematic thing.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: The knee bone bruise, not an issue.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: The high ankle roll, not an issue.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: You don't put that on the strength and conditioning staff.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you want to talk about the rib injuries or Fred Warner punching the ball out, whatever else, that's more on the coaching staff.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: But like cash strains, hamstrings, re-entries, that is all on the strength and conditioning staff.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: I am with you.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Heds should be rolling, not promoting, not promoting.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: not promoting, um, oh, look at this big tone.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Water purger better be as good as everyone claims it is.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: You got to understand what it is.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: Water purger is not the best.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: Water purger is a place that is open 24 hours.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: That everybody goes to after the bars after college.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a place you can go to a breakfast.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: It is a home.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you just put it's burger up against whatever else, man, they're specialty menu is special.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Love me some water burger man.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so good.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's spicy ketchup.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: You got to understand what it is.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: It takes the state of believe in healthy fast food is not healthy.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be healthy, so just to understand what that is.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: Daddy, right here, Kaepernick looked really bad at the end of his career.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: He did.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: I would put Alex Smith before Kaepernick.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God no.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: Alex Smith didn't nothing for the Niners.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting Jimmy G ahead of him.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love Alex Smith as a player.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't good until that one season then he got benching in his best football was all outside of the 49ers.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love Alex Smith.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: he is one of the best humans to grace the planet ever like he is just such a great dude.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: But whenever you look at, yeah, I understand all the different coaching staffs.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: I under like Alex Smith shouldn't have been the pick.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: And whatever he finally got salvageable, he left.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at his
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: barely, you know, right at 500, you're part of some very, very bad teams.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand a lot of people have a very special place in the heart for Alex Smith.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: Football wise, I don't know.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: His best season 13 touched down passes in five interceptions.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't know, man.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see why I get why people love him.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: as not a lot of positive play in the 49ers uniform, Kansas City, he was awesome.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: His best four seasons were outside of San Francisco.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: That is a problem for me.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's not Alex Smith's fault.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't want to ask to be traded.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't ask to be benched from the concussion.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't ask any of those things.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, like dude, I don't know.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he got shafted.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Kaepernick was better.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: There, I don't think anybody disagrees with that.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: The disagreement is, can you lose your job due to injury?
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't lose his job due to injury.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: He got injured.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: The backup quarterback came in and was way more explosive.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: And so Tom Brady shouldn't be starting either.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't lose his job because of injury.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: the entry gave opportunity to another player.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: Cap was better.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: Cap was like, I don't know, like, and I don't dislike anybody.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love Alex Smith.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: I had Alex Smith jerseys.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: I had all the Alex Smith cards.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: I loved Alex Smith.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love Alex Smith still.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: Cap was better.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like that was, you could argue top three greatest playoff performances by any position any all time.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: What Colin Kaepernick did that playoff against the Packers, dude, Michael Vic looks at that as like Dave.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, it's incredible, man.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: It should have been Aaron Rogers, so I'm not Aaron Rogers guy, but that's okay.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do with that, what you will.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: I remember exactly where I was when they drafted Alex Smith in 2005.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: I had the Alex Smith jersey.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I love those jerseys with the gold outline.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Those were badass, by the way.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I just remember us being terrible from then on.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then you get to the 2011 season.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, all right, you go 13 and 3 and everything's awesome and all those things and then the injuries and then the trade.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of bad Alex Smith time.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not putting that on him, but it's not like he was great in the team was bad.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, shoot.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's 16 touchdown 16 interceptions his second year.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was like, all right.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like is this what we're this is what we're doing.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, and I'm not trying to convince anybody, other, like if you think Alex Smith is top three quarterback for the 49ers, too, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely nothing wrong.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: These dialogues, these questions, like I love this debate, and it's the off season.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know practice today.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is time to do it, baby.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is the time to get that stuff done now we got two more players we got to get to and we've already talked about 49ers rush road trip dot com but if you're going to Australia Mexico city Atlanta Dallas Seattle probably going to be down in Los Angeles for the chargers game just tailgate only come party with us.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush road trip is going into it's sixth year with over 40 events at road games.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you are traveling to see the 49ers play this year, you got to come party with us.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of that, we give games, trivia, giveaways.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: We partnered with tick pick this year.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: All you have to do is search 49ers rush on any of the tick pick sights, apps, you name it, and on top of all of that.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: best dressed, giveaways, autographed jerseys, kids are always included and get in for free with a ticketed adult.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times for select cities, we will have 49ers legends come out and you get to meet and greet them and get autographed.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Vorrow Bowman, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Fred Warner, are all players that we have worked with in the past and trust me.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself, we got you covered 49ers
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: We got two players left on the countdown today.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: Number 15 number 14 both not practicing the title today show so many important 40 daughters not practicing number 15 by far one of my favorite players He's on the pub list.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: Both these players are Alfred Collins.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: Climpses of greatness beyond inconsistent
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: you can see the pathway for big number 95 to be a dominant player.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not there.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not there yet.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: 24 years old, 6, 6, 3, 32.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the biggest guys in the NFL.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he is.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: huge Texas kid.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm biased, uh, Hookah Moran's baby.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched his kid all the way since he was in high school at Cedar Creek High School in Texas.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, was with the long horns kind of weighted his turn.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: His mom played basketball for Texas.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: Three sisters, two of which are athletes.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he played football, basketball, shot, disc, he was all these things defensive player, the year for district, 13, 5A.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big district.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: He wanted twice.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like this guy is a baller.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: Five star player, fifth best ranked player coming out of high school in the state of Texas.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was awesome.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: Goes along horns.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: waits his turn because gosh, I mean, he just played behind so many studs to Vodry sweat, Ojimo, Ojimo is going to be one of the highest paid free agents next year.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's the next Philly guy that's going to be moved on defensive tackle, you know, Murphy up in Seattle.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's their defensive tackle rooms that they have put out just bananas.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: He waited his turn.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: didn't miss any time in college.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think he missed one game in five years.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's already missed you know, back to back training camps.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: He had a calf issue throughout all of the draft process.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then he had this, he played through his injured shoulder for that Seattle playoff game and it had surgery afterwards.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, John Lynch talked about.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: We expect him back in that second installment.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's off on the side field looking good.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: I fully expect him to start practicing
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not going to miss game time as long as he doesn't re-enter it.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: Come on strength and conditioning staff has a longer wingspan than Lambron James.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: This dude is a bohemat rush crush guy.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was clamoring for the Niners to pick this guy.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: I predicted it.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'd bet it on it.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: We hit it.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you joined us for the live show last year before we even went live me in ants day two last year.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I said I think the
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a good pick.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_01]: I still look at it.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I went back and looked, you know, the 40 hours picked Alfred Collins second round, picked 43 overall.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_01]: You go back and you look at, okay, who are the most impactful players around him that were drafted.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: Next score time would be the guy if he had to redraft that you should have took.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: He just tore his ACL this week.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he was the guy in my notes when we put this together,
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, if you're red drafting, who would you take after him, Nick Scorson was the guy that you should have took?
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we put that in the notes.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: He tore his ACL since we put in the notes.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: Does that change?
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll tell you right now, like there are things that Alfred Collins does that.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: Normal human beings cannot do.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the negatives, he loses consistently early in the play.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: He is at his best where he relies on his raw strength and he'll get pushed back, he'll stack a shed, which is his best technique, and then make a play.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: Best moments of the year, that force fumble on the goal line.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'd probably argue it's the number one play of the year for the 49ers.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that brought pretty throw to Kyle use check where he's scrambling around, making everybody miss against the bears.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: You put that up there, all fence sales.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: But like you do not beat the Rams without Alfred Collins.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: And he was in on the fourth downstop and overtime to cement that win.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: So the force fumble against Kyder Williams and fumble recovery on the goal line, the fourth downstop.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Man, one tackle for loss, four quarter back hits, one sack, two fumble recoveries, two force fumbles.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's 17 combined tackles.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: He is a space eater.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_01]: He makes life easier for the linebackers didn't play a lot with Fred Warner because the injury did get a sack Philip Rivers, did get the fumble recovery in Atlanta.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, all of his key plays, and this was in my draft right up of Alfred Collins, happened in the fourth quarter.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: When it's the biggest moments in the game, Alfred Collins shows up.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: He did this his entire career at Texas.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_01]: You wish he would be a little bit better in the first quarter and third quarter, but whenever it's fourth quarter, it's big boy time, Alfred Collins shines.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: His sex, his fumble recoveries, the fourth downstops, like the biggest moments of the game, Alfred Collins shows up.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: I told you all that.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: That happened his rookie year.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the shoulder surgery is on-plup.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's not out there practicing.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to improve in a lot of areas.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: He has a very easy pathway to starting next to Osso Dickie Zua.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see, can he take those steps?
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I know that the rumors of Vita Veia, I would trade out for Collins for Vita Veia.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love Alfred Collins.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: If you can give Vita Veia, Alfred Collins in a fourth round pick, I would do it.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really would.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: I am a huge Alfred Collins fan.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: Huge Alfred Collins fan.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_01]: But he's got some growing to do.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: He really, really does.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here in notorious another second year player, smashing the way up the list, yes.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: Maria, Alford cons has so much potential.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's there.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's 24 years old, six, six, three, 32.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's just a monster, man.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was improving his plays getting better.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see Ben right here.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: John, we read 100% on AC.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, every time being Ben, you know, he helps with all the draft work and stuff.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: We were just back and forth like how higher we on Alfred Collins are we too high.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was my highest rated second round player.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was like number 19 or 20 on my list.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, him and Wes excited about those guys.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ben, I'm betting Collins comes off the pet list tomorrow.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: That would be awesome.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: I feel appreciate you, man, where's Ant?
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, I do want to put this in there.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: Ant's got some family stuff going on.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: We love Ant.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know he'd appreciate that.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't want to put a lot out there, but we're thinking of praying Ant and we miss him.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll be back to the coach coach later in the year for sure, but him and his family taking care of some stuff.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_01]: And man, we love them.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: And we're just thinking of them.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah right there and then you add on this notorious like how large he is getting into those throwing lanes that is a big deal and getting the passes defense I don't know we did not add this can be just a quick second Alfred Collins how many pass breakups did he have last year I know he had a couple
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, does it pull up?
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, too passes defense.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, did he get one of the playoffs?
- 56:55[SPEAKER_00]: He did not.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, two passes defense.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you get four or five.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of what you're looking for.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Logan right here.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I'm always saying we should it trade out for Collins for Vaya because he's already producing as potentials huge.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: Potential is huge.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've done it yet.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it doesn't get, um, but yeah, yeah, shout out to aunt, top-lad dudes, salt to the earth, man.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, the coolest thing about this podcast, there's so many positives.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm so thankful.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: And the only reason why I get to do is because you guys, so thank you.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've just been able to cross-pass with some of the coolest human beings in the world.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: And aunt is definitely one of those.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: Beyond thankful.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you guys.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: Man, you guys are the best.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: Last one on our roster countdown today, another player.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so many important 49ers, not practicing.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: My Kel Williams comes to number 14.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: Last year he was 12.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: Falls a couple spots.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: The injury, I think he's going to be on the pub to start the season.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_01]: I fully expect him to miss the first month of the season, you have to miss four games if you're on the pub, but that doesn't count against a roster spot.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: So the Niners will be able to keep an extra wide receiver or tight end or offensive lineman because of that.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 98, 65 to 60, he's another big dude turns 22 and June, like just
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: Central this means you ain't done it yet.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: The potential McCail Williams is through the roof.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, the past rushing not present and his nine games before he tore his ACL, but godly dude was just a beast run stuff or from the jump McCail to Anthony Williams from Georgia Columbus Georgia
- 58:46[SPEAKER_01]: Cali like his mom Shamika was a three-sport athlete Fort Valley State University Hall of Fame.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: Michele's the oldest of five siblings got four younger sisters loves his older brother role.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_01]: How cool is that?
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maxwell football, national high school player the year.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: Player the year.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: Five star, like if there were six stars, he'd have six stars.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: He won the Richard Seymour family scholarship, fourth best recruit coming out of high school back in the 2022 class, chose USC before flipped to Georgia.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_01]: Kirby Smart, head coach said, quote, his best trait is his work ethic, clean on the field, clean off the field, off football all the time, won the national championship for Georgia.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: And you go back to the big 12 championships.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: It like probably one of the coolest things.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: I broke this tape down.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's on the 40 hours rush.com.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: We did the Georgia defense of tape.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_01]: We did the Texas defense of tape.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: You have Miguel Williams making a play in the fourth quarter to end a drive.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: Then you have Alfred Collins for Texas making a play in the fourth quarter and drive.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: Then you have Georgia making a play to end a drive.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: Did you have Alfred Collins all of the fourth quarter?
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was just like, Gali, these two bohemans just took over that damn game.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: Georgia eventually won two time all SEC players draft number 11 overall.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now, a lot of people didn't like that draft and a lot of people were for the Schumerar Stewart.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: Again, another player towards ACL.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's done now.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's not done.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: They came back and said, just hyper extended his knee going to miss time, but he'll be back this year, which is awesome for the Bengals.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_01]: But you look at what Mikhail Williams did in the nine games before he
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_01]: 20 combined tackles for tackle for loss one sack 19 pressures.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 51.9 pass rush great.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's not his game yet.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's not 12 solo run stops.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_01]: He was the number one for every single rookie drafted last year and his draft class for run stop rate at 11.1 percentage.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: You look at the opposing teams run success rate against the
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_01]: This guy, his job was to stop the run.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's why he was brought in.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: Can he develop some of the past rush skills?
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's 22, just turn 22.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's three years younger than not one, not two, but three 49ers rookies.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: This guy has to chance to be a 10 year 49er's player.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is he there?
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is he in Austin?
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: Is he a pro-buller?
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: Can he stop the run and dominate the line of scrimmage?
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_01]: 100% yes.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: that is already there.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: Can things increase?
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_01]: Towards ACL at MetLife Shocker.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_01]: place should be burned to the ground.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_01]: The only stadium in the NFL, that's worse than Levi's in my opinion.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to 26, MetLife's 26, Levi's is 25th.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: Levi's sucks man.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing that's good about Levi's 49ers fans in the grass is some of the best, you know, voted the best field turf to play on.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I really like McKill Williams.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay to hit doubles there was no player there and I want to go back to that draft class like who would you have taken after McKell Williams that was just Booker no can grant no Tyler Warren no Jalen Walker maybe and a lot of people were like do James appears led the NFL you know that draft class in sacks now he's got all the off the field stuff will see what happens.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like Schmars Stewart was in the conversation
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: I, I just, man, I don't know.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: Derek Harman was probably one of my guys.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_01]: I was pretty high on him.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: I was high on Jade Baron.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was high on Grace Abel.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: Walter Nolan had the injuries.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_01]: I get that conversation that was there too.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the conversation.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_01]: Walter Nolan, Schermar Stewart was a note for me.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: Grace Abel, Jade Baron, Derek Harman.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the guys.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jade Campbell, I love Jade Campbell.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not leaning towards any of those over McKell now with where we are.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you missed.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: Did you hit a home run?
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, Rhys right here with William is missing the first month.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think will start?
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_01]: He on white will start and I think Nick Bowson key on white will be your starting edge players Week one.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's what you do and then you rotate in mellow on past rushing downs and then You rotate in Samo as as your number three and he gets those snaps So yeah, that's where we're at man and so man fun episode Hopefully you guys enjoyed this.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I predicted that pick as well.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: We made a lot of money on that that one and yeah
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's sometimes what you got to do they almost trade it up for them.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_01]: They fully they didn't do that They're not all home runs guys Tony wins in the Hall of Fame
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_01]: You need contributors.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_01]: You needed players after so many misses in that 20 21 and 20 22 draft and 20 23 draft yet you had to get contributors 20 24 and 20 25 and 20 26 stocked with contributors now you need some of those home runs.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_01]: we'll see.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's what's crazy.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_01]: So uh uh right here I'm finding with you Dave.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I'm finding with John Chadman.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, man.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: Dave is a man.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's stood.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Brandon by the way.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say that here's what's crazy.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: Once I hit in stream, I have to tear down this whole studio packet and reset it up tomorrow when we move.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_01]: So like this is the end of an era for for Chapman.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get emotional about these things, but it's just like, huh, all right, this is the last I wanted to record it up.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how many episodes have recorded since I've been here, but probably about six, 700.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_01]: uh... right here nine to see no uh.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: oh he's trying to get me in trouble again thanks for the super chat off top it the first forty nine or super boy watch was first the ravens i was heartbroken they lost what would coach Chapman have done differently to win the game you run the damn ball run the ball you're the ball the front door uh... the fades to craftry no i'm not a craftry guy either by the way shocker uh... i am not a car i'm free gore guy
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a free-core guy, first to go for the five, run the damn ball, run the damn ball, you run the ball, anyway, first to go for the five, anyway, well, I'm sorry, that was the Seattle game, yeah, the Ravens game cut the power earlier, that was such a one-sided
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_01]: Everything else.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that that game.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_01]: So look at this race.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck with the move.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: John, lift your legs.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_01]: I rolled my ankle already this morning getting the patio furniture out.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so like yeah, the ankle is hurting right now already.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, all right, two days straight of carry in boxes and whatever we got movers coming, which will help, but you know, I'm not just going to watch a moon and move with them, but like yeah, my ankle is hurting.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_01]: Even the podcasters get injured, buddy, our coaches get injured, our players get it.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_01]: Our pets heads are falling off.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: Harry.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_01]: I took care of it.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, you guys are the best.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, have cap run the freaking ball.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_01]: Run the freaking ball, man.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_01]: It would have helped in every single Super Bowl.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers didn't win.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_01]: Raheem most are not getting one carry in the first quarter of the Super Bowl after having one of the most legendary championship game performances the week before what the hell, man.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_01]: Ah
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_01]: anyway.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, it has been an honor and a pleasure to record with you today.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_01]: No show tomorrow.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_01]: If I can't swing it, maybe, but probably not with the move and all those things, but I'll be at camp Saturday.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll get a live report from camp whenever practice in Saturday.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned for that.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'm going to end this stream.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to tear it out.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_01]: All the lights and everything.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_01]: You are the absolute best.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_01]: And until next time, new location.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_01]: Stay strong, faithful.
