- 0:00Hello and welcome to another episode of Christian Reef
- 0:03podcast. Now today's guest, I've been
- 0:05really looking forward to doing this show.
- 0:07First things first, I'm going to shout out guyot ring on, thank
- 0:10you. This was a guest recommendation
- 0:11from him. So massive thank-you because of
- 0:14this I was then made familiar with our guest today just Nate
- 0:18and the this is a unique one because I'm not really sure
- 0:23exactly how to introduce you. Like I'm just going to say what
- 0:28my perception was when I came Across here, and we'll go with
- 0:30that. So, in my, my opinion just met,
- 0:34is an amazing content creator who spends his time and
- 0:40resources helping people in the United States and its s
- 0:45beautiful and welcome to the show.
- 0:47How you doing? I'm good, I'm good.
- 0:49I think there was a good introduction.
- 0:51Yeah, it's broader kind of covers everything.
- 0:54Yeah. It's I mean, it's been really
- 0:55excited. This is cool.
- 0:58Actually today is Birthday to. So this was kind of fun, happy
- 1:03birthday. Yeah, yeah, thanks man.
- 1:06No, thank you for putting aside some time for us on your
- 1:09birthday, right? I had no idea.
- 1:11But this is what I love to do. You know, stuff like this mad.
- 1:16Um, oh wow. Okay, well first, especially
- 1:19with that. Thank you.
- 1:21Yeah, I guess I do. I do want to kind of talk about
- 1:26the work that you're doing and how you're helping people.
- 1:28But I want to also kind of because part of what my show is
- 1:31or a big part of my show is to kind of get behind and kind of
- 1:34see why people do the things that they do and then your tell
- 1:38stories about people and kind of, you know, build that up and
- 1:42learn about the person behind everything that they see.
- 1:45And I just, I'm really intrigued like, how did this all start for
- 1:50you. What was the point where you
- 1:51kind of just said, like, Because I would imagine before you
- 1:55started doing this, you're already helping people because
- 1:58that's kind of just how it is, isn't it?
- 2:00You know, and I can say in my own life you know there were
- 2:03times when I was working like service jobs and you know I give
- 2:06all my cash tips to people, I'd find or, you know, did
- 2:10volunteering for a year and a half like you do what you can,
- 2:13right? Many of the people listening
- 2:16watching right now will have helped people in various shapes
- 2:19and forms and it doesn't just extend to Say helping people in
- 2:25need. It can just be little acts that
- 2:26you do each and every day to just make other people's lives
- 2:29better, you know? But I'm really intrigued to know
- 2:32where this all began for you. We're all kind of started and
- 2:35where it click what you said, you know what, I'm going to make
- 2:37this into something. Well, you know, I mean, I can
- 2:43dive back further to and say that like I've had my ups and
- 2:46downs when it comes to helping people because in the past, you
- 2:50know, I would I'd help people and the For I know, it would be
- 2:54affecting my personal life for getting in the way of things or
- 2:57giving away more to give and, you know, I even had one time
- 3:04where I gave a guy my I gave him like my last five dollars and I
- 3:08was in downtown, Los Angeles a long time ago when I lived out
- 3:12there and he bought it. What I did is I bought him a
- 3:17burrito. I've always said, you know, I
- 3:19still to this day, I always will get somebody food if they need
- 3:21to eat. So I bought him a burrito.
- 3:24I bought myself alone and then I realized that.
- 3:28I pretty much spend every dollar I had and I was like, wow, okay,
- 3:31well, I should be able to get home because I lived about 30 40
- 3:34miles from them from downtown at that time and then he reached in
- 3:39his pocket and I heard he had just the amount of change and
- 3:43dollars and everything because some fell out and he picked it
- 3:46up and I was like, wow, okay, so he has some money in his pocket.
- 3:54Whatever. You know, I'm sure he needs and
- 3:57then we got our food and parted ways.
- 3:59I got in my car and empty, I totally forgot.
- 4:02I needed money for gas and I that was everything.
- 4:07I had that moment. So all of a sudden now I'm
- 4:09driving home. Just sweating likes, very
- 4:12nervous. Like am I going to make it home
- 4:14like that? I really actually needed that
- 4:17even though I really wanted to help him.
- 4:20And, you know, that was something that really instilled
- 4:22in me. And then there was another
- 4:24moment where I actually, broke my ankle riding my bike and I
- 4:29was up in the mountains and I was doing jumps on a BMX bike
- 4:34and stuff, and I broke my ankle and there's nobody anywhere.
- 4:37I was completely alone, um, and this is so weird, but there was
- 4:43nobody there. Nobody, but when I fell, I was
- 4:46screaming. I was yelling more Angry than
- 4:49anything and a homeless guy comes out of a bush, somewhere
- 4:53that He lived in and he comes to help me and he had a stick that
- 4:58was like he turned into a crutch so he gave me that so I could
- 5:02get up and he helped me up and help me get back on my bike.
- 5:07So I could roll down the down to the bottom of the hill, get
- 5:10picked up to go to the hospital. And, you know, those, those two
- 5:15things is, it's kind of far apart because like, on one hand,
- 5:18I want to help people. But on the other, I can't
- 5:21prevent myself from getting home.
- 5:23And, you know, at the same time, it's just like the one person
- 5:27that was there. When I really really needed,
- 5:28somebody was the last person I would have ever expected.
- 5:32And someone I didn't even see there.
- 5:35And yet, you know, with he had almost nothing like that.
- 5:38Crutch was actually really important to him, but he was
- 5:40willing to give it to me and I thought that was that was
- 5:44really, really special fast forward a little bit and and I
- 5:50moved to Reno and I had a really good job.
- 5:53But it didn't totally work out and you know that company has
- 5:59since shut their doors. But as I was driving away from
- 6:04the job and I had been laid off, owner are getting.
- 6:07I saw somebody at the end of the freeway at the off-ramp and
- 6:13they're holding their sign there and I had just signed a lease on
- 6:17a home. So I wasn't I just signed a
- 6:21lease on a home. I put every dollar I had Get
- 6:23into that home. I think I had, and it's actually
- 6:26the same one I'm in now, but I have like one bed and a TV and a
- 6:31big four-bedroom, empty house that I was planning on having my
- 6:35family move into with me eventually and that's a whole
- 6:40nother story because, yeah, I still have a daughter and my
- 6:43fiance the time is no longer whatever.
- 6:46Anyway. So I was just sitting in this
- 6:50empty house and I'm going what do I do?
- 6:52You know, I Like, how is this going to work out?
- 6:55Like that guy, that was standing on the side of the road holding?
- 6:59That sign was probably in a similar situation to me right
- 7:02now, but he didn't have family. He didn't have resources, he
- 7:07didn't have something like a car, he could sell to save and
- 7:11pay his rent or something along those lines.
- 7:13You know, there was a domino effect there and it might have
- 7:16been to Dominoes, it could have been 10, but they all went down
- 7:20and that's what probably put him in that situation.
- 7:23Could put me in a very similar situation right now if I'm not
- 7:28careful. Wow, I could have been that guy.
- 7:32That guy could be me. Like we're really no different.
- 7:36It's just a matter of circumstances.
- 7:39I think I wonder what his story really is.
- 7:44I would really like to know more about that.
- 7:47I wonder if I could make. I wonder if other people have
- 7:49the same thought. I'm sure they do.
- 7:52I'm sure they do. I'm sure people.
- 7:53You'll wonder what made people get to that point and you know,
- 7:57what is their story and their journey and what can we do to
- 8:01make a difference and help? And that's when I started
- 8:05thinking, well maybe I could make content around something
- 8:08like that and actually share people's stories and spread
- 8:12awareness and make a difference. And then I actually tried it
- 8:17once without doing anything for someone and I never shared that
- 8:22video. But it just didn't feel right
- 8:25for me to interview someone, and someone who really meets
- 8:30something, who needs some help and I didn't give them anything.
- 8:34I just, I just share their story and I feel like I would really
- 8:39prefer to actually give them something, you know, or help
- 8:43them or find out what they really need.
- 8:46And that's when I went kind of back to the drawing board for a
- 8:48little bit and came up with. Okay, I'm going to go do food
- 8:53Hurry, Uber Eats or GrubHub or whatever and I'm going to take
- 8:58whatever I make out of that when I go for 45 hours on my day off
- 9:01and then take what I make go the next day and kind of integrate
- 9:06and do like talk to people and see what they what you know,
- 9:09what they really need. How'd they get to where they're
- 9:11at and what I can do to help them?
- 9:13And what can I get for them? And I was really worried at
- 9:16first, because I thought I was only going to be able to go.
- 9:20Hey man, I can only spend 20 bucks.
- 9:22That's all I have. Dollars.
- 9:25But I want to spend it on you. What could I get for you?
- 9:27And I and Something Told Me Something Told me.
- 9:31Don't mention anything just ask and if you can't get it or if
- 9:35it's way without a reap, figure it out and and so I just went
- 9:40for it. And I was nervous.
- 9:42I was scared. I thought they were going to ask
- 9:43for all sorts of things and the first guy I approached just
- 9:46wanted a pair of shoes and some socks and I was like I don't
- 9:50know. She was gonna be he's like no no
- 9:53I won't Aren't they like $15? You can buy it, you know?
- 9:56It would only be around. Twenty dollars is what he said.
- 9:59I didn't tell him that I only added twenty dollar budget, but
- 10:02yeah, he was asking for something.
- 10:04That was almost exactly, within my budget, and I was just like,
- 10:08wow, this is going to work, something greater is going on
- 10:13here. This is I just have to have
- 10:15faith and go and it's going to. It's going to work.
- 10:17So I went and I got him his choose and and it's funny
- 10:21because I've seen that guy like two or three times Since then,
- 10:25and I've helped them continuously and I hope that I
- 10:27can find the time to take him to get his i.d., because that's one
- 10:30of his biggest issues after talking with them some more.
- 10:33So, that's where it started off at.
- 10:35And then as it went and I did that for like about a month and
- 10:39I made the videos, share them, and everything people started
- 10:43shipping in and that's where it was like, wow.
- 10:46Now I can do a lot more and, you know, then I had to encourage
- 10:50people to ask for more and I still do Do because people ask
- 10:55for so little, a lot of them don't want a lot because it's
- 10:58just more to carry its more to deal with its more things that
- 11:02could get stolen. So it now it's just crazy
- 11:07because I have to, like, throw things out there, kind of like
- 11:10that. I think I know that they're
- 11:12going to want, you know what, you want to ring, you know,
- 11:17whatever it maybe do. You need a cart really haul, all
- 11:20your stuff, you need a tent, a sleeping bag.
- 11:22All those things that are Really kind of essential items for
- 11:25anyone that's living outside and and nine times out of ten.
- 11:30They not only need it but they really appreciate it when they
- 11:33see the items that I have, that people get from the Amazon
- 11:36wishlist or that I'm able to go by because I get good items.
- 11:40I get the same items you and I would get if we were going to go
- 11:43and brought might even be better than what you.
- 11:45And I would go get on our own budget to make sure that they're
- 11:49good and they appreciate it so much.
- 11:52So yeah, I guess in a quick nutshell may be as quick as I
- 11:57could put it. That's how I've gotta know where
- 12:00I'm at. Gaza.
- 12:03As always so many questions. I can begin with it.
- 12:08I took a glance at what you were doing.
- 12:10And I think one of the biggest things that really impressed me
- 12:13was just like how you structured and you kind of told us a little
- 12:18bit. They're like you start it which
- 12:19I didn't know actually that you started out just volunteer in
- 12:22your own time spending your hard-earned money to, then help
- 12:25these people, which others things.
- 12:27Last, that's incredible, man. Well done for that and then it's
- 12:31obviously built to this point. And we're now, if you go on, to
- 12:35your particular social media channels, there's like a series
- 12:38of different links, there's like, explanations of like, how
- 12:41to help people and how that will then help people.
- 12:44And then every video you see that, you see that being action,
- 12:48I saw one of your videos where you help in a guy and he had
- 12:51like he needed something to help power like an engine or
- 12:55something. Turns out you was looking
- 12:57engineer or something at one point or another.
- 12:58And see this is a very common story especially in the United
- 13:01States that I see over. And over again will be, I don't
- 13:04know, maybe someone fell on hard times during the pandemic or
- 13:07something. They lost their job, you know,
- 13:10they got let go something like that.
- 13:12And yeah, it's very simple. What you just said earlier about
- 13:17how, it's very easy for these circumstances to happen to any
- 13:19of us. It's like a series of things
- 13:21happening. One after another and then boom.
- 13:25You're on the streets and you're trying to get out of it.
- 13:28I've had the exact same sort of conversations here in the UK
- 13:30with people, where it's like, sometimes people are waiting,
- 13:34you know, they'll be on like some sort of a list waiting to
- 13:37get housing or they're waiting to, as you say, I get an ID,
- 13:41something like that. So that they're kind of like, in
- 13:43a limbo thing because that's the thing.
- 13:45Like most people walking down the street, don't you don't
- 13:47necessarily know the ins and outs of it.
- 13:48It's not that people aren't trying to get out of that
- 13:50situation. It's that they're like stuck,
- 13:53you know? And so until that time when they
- 13:55can get whatever it is the ID The job, you know, whatever
- 14:01they're in this sort of limbo position where maybe they're in
- 14:06a tent. Maybe they're staying at by
- 14:07these, something like that, until they can get back on their
- 14:10feet. Just want to through quickly,
- 14:14like the different types of ways.
- 14:15People can help people, you mentioned there that, you know,
- 14:17there's Amazon wish list, what other ways can you sort of
- 14:20seeking out tart with to help at the end of the day?
- 14:23The one thing that works the best is mine is mine.
- 14:28I don't even like saying it but because then I can use that to
- 14:32get exactly what that person needs.
- 14:35Right. I don't give out money for a few
- 14:38reasons. One is I'm very consistent and I
- 14:40started that way. So I'm going to keep it going
- 14:43that way and to I found that you know, a lot of these people
- 14:48can't get those things that they need.
- 14:51Meaning that they can't go in a store and buy them because a lot
- 14:55of them have like, all of their precious items and everything in
- 14:59a shop. pan card, and if they leave it outside, A lot of times
- 15:04it'll disappear on, that literally has everything they
- 15:07own it and they can't just walk around the store with that or
- 15:11they have it at their camp and they don't want to leave their
- 15:14camp or go very far from their Camp.
- 15:16You know, they want to be within reach of that.
- 15:18But yet this store that has all these items that they need is on
- 15:22the other side of town. So having someone actually go
- 15:25and get them, those things make a huge difference because if I
- 15:30just gave the money to get those items, a lot of times they
- 15:32would, Don't have the time or resources to go get them.
- 15:35They couldn't get a ride. They couldn't leave their stuff
- 15:37or even worse if they left their stuff and I'll be gone and now
- 15:40they are both do things and that's everything they owned.
- 15:44And and there could be some of their precious documents there,
- 15:48whether it be identification or birth certificate or something
- 15:51along those lines that could set them back.
- 15:53Even further in another aspect of that is.
- 15:56I'm not saying that everybody out here has a has an addiction
- 16:01problem. There are a handful that do and
- 16:05more often than not, you know, the guy on the corner that will
- 16:09give them that that thing that they really want.
- 16:12That's right there. That's, you know, not far away
- 16:15versus what they really need that.
- 16:18Not, it's further away and it has all these things they need
- 16:22to do to get there. Well, usually going to take
- 16:25what's easiest and right in front of you.
- 16:27So me doing what I do, makes a larger difference than I ever
- 16:31thought it would go in. Into it and not giving out cash
- 16:35on actually getting people things they need.
- 16:37And what I found also is that a lot of times, if it's getting
- 16:39someone to a destination or helping them across town or even
- 16:44across country, or whatever it may be, if I didn't go along
- 16:48with them and make sure that everything was good along the
- 16:50way, we figure out a budget and let's say they think it's going
- 16:53to take six hundred dollars in fuel and I give them six hundred
- 16:56dollars. Well, you know they might get
- 17:00halfway and then on their vehicle and now what now they're
- 17:04stuck. Now they're just in that same
- 17:06situation somewhere else with a little bit more money and less
- 17:10help less the resources. So taking the time to actually
- 17:15make sure that they get to that destination and they have
- 17:18whatever they need and being there for the ride and support
- 17:22throughout the entire process. It's a lot more work, it's a lot
- 17:26more effort but I find Essential and it really just, you know,
- 17:33it's why I do it the way I do it and it makes a big difference.
- 17:37I really feel that way. And the people I've helped to
- 17:39told me as well like the way you do it.
- 17:43I respect because you're there and you help us and you're you
- 17:48know, if I really needed, even if it's something that I didn't
- 17:50think of you think of things, I didn't think I would need as.
- 17:54Yeah. Well, you know, helped a couple
- 17:56people so I know how this goes Goes, and yeah, it makes a big
- 18:01difference. So a lot of other guys give out
- 18:03cash and sometimes I mean I envy them because I know that that's
- 18:08a lot quicker than what I do. What I do is a lot more
- 18:13involved, but I do feel that it's essential and I build a
- 18:17relationship with people, and that's the thing that's
- 18:21beautiful, that you can't do without spending time a recent
- 18:27Sent a recent thing that happened which was just
- 18:31beautiful and I couldn't believe it.
- 18:33It's mind-blowing and I haven't, I haven't even shared the video
- 18:36about it yet. I have to put it together but
- 18:40this guy helped, you know, I got him everything he needed and
- 18:44spend some time with them and toward the end of the day.
- 18:46I never put this in the video, but toward the end of our
- 18:49conversation. He says, do you ever help people
- 18:51get clean and sober? Do you ever help them like, get
- 18:53back on their feet and find them treatment facilities and stuff
- 18:56like that? I was like, Well yeah, I can
- 18:58point you in the right direction and I can tell you where to go
- 19:01but I can't do that for you, you know.
- 19:03But if it costs money or you need just someone to talk to do,
- 19:07whatever I can do that, you know?
- 19:11And so we talked a little bit more.
- 19:13We went out to lunch once and then I took him to get a shower
- 19:16and took them on a shopping spree and pin spent like an
- 19:18entire day with him and we kept talking the entire time and you
- 19:22just like I'm tired of it. I want to, I want to get clean.
- 19:25I can't keep doing this. This life is not For me, I just
- 19:28it's not going to last, you know, and I would talk with
- 19:33them. And I had, I just, you know,
- 19:35regular conversation that I would have with anyone about
- 19:38those kind of things and apparently, a lot of the stuff I
- 19:41said sunken more than I thought it would.
- 19:43And here's the thing that really blew my mind and is that he
- 19:48watched his own video that I made from the first video and he
- 19:52would read through the comments and there was a lot of
- 19:55positivity in a comments and people were saying this Guy
- 19:57seems like a great guy. Go help him more like, oh, I'd
- 20:01love to see him get back on his feet and things like that, and
- 20:03there's thousands of comments in there and most of them are very
- 20:07positive and that's actually what fueled him to get into
- 20:12treatment is the comments and seeing that the world cared.
- 20:16And that a guy like me, took time out of my day to go and
- 20:18hang out and treat him like like a regular human being between
- 20:23that and just that that's what inspired him to get back on his
- 20:27feet and And so he knew where to go for treatment, he done in
- 20:30that. Way, a long time ago in the past
- 20:33and part of our conversation was, if you're really ready, you
- 20:35know where to go, if you need help to get there, I'll give you
- 20:39a ride, whatever. But what's really stopping in
- 20:42anything? I don't know, man.
- 20:44I don't know. I mean, I really want to go.
- 20:46I really want to go. So, I, he fell off and I didn't
- 20:49talk to him for a few weeks. And I was like, I need to check
- 20:51in on, he called me on Sunday, and he said that he's two weeks
- 20:56sober, and out of treatment. And doing really good and
- 20:59working and getting back on his feet and everything.
- 21:02And that's when he told me that, you know, we went out and got
- 21:05got some dinner lunch. Dinner was like 4:00 and he said
- 21:10that the comments are what really did it for him, that just
- 21:13doesn't blows my mind. It blows my mind the power of a
- 21:17comment in positivity and it doesn't cost anybody anything to
- 21:22get in there and leave a positive message for somebody
- 21:24else to see. I'll, I see a lot of people say
- 21:27It's wrong for me to film what I do and I don't think they really
- 21:31understand how powerful it is. And what, you know, the people
- 21:37that I helped not only are they okay with it?
- 21:39A lot of them are excited to see their video when it comes out a
- 21:42lot of them become fans and this guy he ended up he was so
- 21:47inspired by the comments in the positivity out there from the
- 21:50community that it helped him move forward this life and get
- 21:53back on his feet at didn't cost anything.
- 21:58That was free to everybody to mean, it just blows my mind and
- 22:02it just you know it it confirms everything that this is this is
- 22:08real and this needs to happen. There's no stopping this.
- 22:12And I hope that when people hear that and I do share that video,
- 22:16that they understand how important it is, you know, even
- 22:20if it is just a comment, there's something big that can come from
- 22:23it. Couldn't agree more.
- 22:29What would you say in regards to instances like this, where, you
- 22:34know, you're keeping tabs on people just to kind of check in
- 22:36with them or, you know, maybe you're just checking in with
- 22:39people later on, you know, because I imagine, you get a lot
- 22:42of comments like this, like, hey, give us an update house
- 22:45so-and-so doing etc, etc. What have been the kind of most
- 22:49memorable instances where you follow up with someone and
- 22:52they're doing so much better now, or what they may be reached
- 22:55out to you or something like that.
- 22:58Well, that one was the most recent so that was fresh in my
- 23:01mind but there's been a lot a lot.
- 23:05And what's funny though is like I don't totally understand why
- 23:09some people go viral because others, I think most of it's
- 23:14because they show more emotion on on camera and they're just
- 23:19more animated in the way they react to everything others.
- 23:24I just kind of, you know, more calm and And soft-spoken.
- 23:29And they, it doesn't mean that they're not as grateful, but
- 23:35they still, you know, they still want to move forward, they still
- 23:38do whatever. And there's a handful of people
- 23:41like that, who have gone through the whole process and now are
- 23:44living on their own and doing very well.
- 23:47And then there's others that like, they just grabbed people's
- 23:51hearts. And so, they're always asking
- 23:52about there's like one guy in a recent video where I guess he
- 23:57fractured So somebody hit him over the head and while he was
- 24:01sleeping I saw this one. Yeah.
- 24:03Yeah. And that guy, I've actually ran
- 24:05into a few times out there. I've only actually got them on
- 24:10camera twice. There was one way in the past, I
- 24:14don't know. Nobody seemed to put the two
- 24:17together but I got a wheelbarrow girl a long time ago.
- 24:19And that's what he wanted. So he can haul all this stuff
- 24:23around and wash his dog and maybe like, put some water and
- 24:26take a bath with stuff like that.
- 24:27Was like very resourceful. I was that guy that said such a
- 24:30cool. That's a cool request.
- 24:32But I've never had that like, that blew my mind and this time
- 24:35was much different when I saw him and, you know, I haven't
- 24:40found him again yet so it's he's not the kind of person to reach
- 24:44out, make a phone call or ask for much.
- 24:48He's one of the people that I really like, you know, catch at
- 24:51that right moment in time when he really, really, really
- 24:54something like that day and he just needed a couple items, he
- 24:59didn't he doesn't ask for a lot. So I hope I can run into him
- 25:02again. He had already been in the
- 25:04hospital. He had already been kicked out.
- 25:06He had already been looked at. There wasn't much more you could
- 25:09You for him at that point other than, you know, putting him in a
- 25:13home or getting a place or things like that.
- 25:16But unfortunately, for everybody out here they don't have an ID.
- 25:20I can't get them. Even I'll tell they'll get
- 25:24kicked out. I've even been blacklisted from
- 25:28a hotel in town. Very popular chain.
- 25:31Might I add that I got something on a room.
- 25:35I didn't have a neck to get my kids mine and now I can't ring
- 25:38anybody rooms. They're even just went to take a
- 25:40couple there to get a room and now they are blacklisted because
- 25:45I tried to get them a room to say, said that's how the system
- 25:48works. It's out of our hands.
- 25:49It makes absolutely no sense to me but that was kind of like
- 25:52heartbreaking for me too, because they'd already gotten
- 25:54rooms there. So I have to be very careful
- 25:57about what I do. And when and think about it,
- 26:00because I mean, my town is only so big and especially if it's a
- 26:04large chain and then all of a sudden, I'm like that throughout
- 26:07the country on that chain. It could really affect how I go
- 26:10and help people down the road. So it really sucks that I can
- 26:15only do so much for people without an ID.
- 26:20I don't know what it's like in the UK but I know here.
- 26:24If yeah. If you don't have your
- 26:25identification you're really limited away and getting one
- 26:30without an address. It's like this is Loop this
- 26:33infinite Loop that people get stuck in is because you can't
- 26:36get an ID without an address but you can't have an address
- 26:41without an ID because how are you going to go in an apartment
- 26:45with them or whatever? So it's just this like what?
- 26:49You have to have somebody or a place that's willing to let you
- 26:53use their address and there's only a handful of organizations
- 26:58that will do that and I'm not an organization.
- 27:00I'm just name and I will let people use mine sometimes and
- 27:06that can make a big difference, but it's still tough.
- 27:08Still finding an appointment appointments for the DMV here
- 27:11are like a month to two months out, so and they don't do
- 27:16walk-ins anymore and that's the only place t.
- 27:19Get an idea. So I don't know how it works
- 27:21over there but across the pond is you guys say, right?
- 27:25Yeah. They bring it, it's definitely
- 27:30something that we have an issue with but in a slightly different
- 27:32way. So for example, let's say you're
- 27:35trying to find a job. Most jobs will when you go to
- 27:40that designing stage and everything, you'll need to
- 27:43provide a proof of address or in some shape or form.
- 27:46Not always, but there are like a lot of jobs where either ask for
- 27:49that information and of course, if you're homeless, you don't
- 27:52have an address, you might be lucky in that you might be able
- 27:55to sometimes. I know that councils will have
- 27:58certain facilities where you can use a sort of like a generic
- 28:02address. I know there's online versions
- 28:04though, I don't really know to what extent that works.
- 28:08I don't know, it's quite A New Concept but it's the same
- 28:11Catch-22 of like. Yeah.
- 28:13You get pushed away. Get pushed away.
- 28:14You get pushed away. Like I remember one guy that I
- 28:16used to donate money to. This was when I was at
- 28:18University. Go for that exact situation,
- 28:21like he was on some sort of a waiting list.
- 28:25I think. And at that time he was
- 28:28perpetually staying in hotels. Now, to answer your question
- 28:31before it really depends, as I understand most places generally
- 28:36you could probably give cash and they would, you know, a lot of
- 28:39the time people just saving on that particular day to just get
- 28:42a room for the night, maybe in a cheap hostel a cheap hotel, some
- 28:46places are more. I'm going to put some places are
- 28:54more hospitable than others. Let's put it that way.
- 28:56I know the places where I currently live people have been
- 28:59turned away because they assumed like everyone is just going to
- 29:02do drugs. Then I hate sometimes they do
- 29:04and that is against the rules and you shouldn't be doing that
- 29:07etcetera but there's been some instances, I've heard about
- 29:10where you know people have been thrown out in the middle of the
- 29:16night because of it. And it's like, I think.
- 29:23You look. When it comes down to it, there
- 29:29are moments in life where you've got to put aside profession and
- 29:34professional in the all that and just appeal to The Human Side of
- 29:38Things. Should someone be smoking weed
- 29:41in a hotel room fine though? It's against the rules but if
- 29:45you kick that person out in the middle of the night, they've got
- 29:49nowhere to go. You know, they could if it's
- 29:53winter they could die on the street.
- 29:55Stuff like that. I personally couldn't live with,
- 30:00you know, I'd sooner be like, okay, met in the morning right
- 30:04time to leave. You know, clean up the room at
- 30:07least that guy had somewhere to stay that night at least you
- 30:09know, you know I'm saying. Like it's like that.
- 30:14Yeah, there's a lot of rules out there.
- 30:16And things are becoming more official and documented
- 30:20throughout the process because everything's going so digital
- 30:23that you can't skip over. And you know somebody could put
- 30:27their own job at risk. If they are just have
- 30:30compassion, which is wrong. I but I don't agree with it but
- 30:34that's where things are going and it shows it's quiet and it's
- 30:37always been like this as well like that just brought back a
- 30:39memory. Have you seen the movie Into The
- 30:43Wild? It's released about 2006 or
- 30:45something. It's about a guy, okay, know
- 30:49what you're talking about, but I am so so for those who don't
- 30:52know, it's about a real life story, a guy called something.
- 30:55Mccandles give me a comment by his first name, it was a guy who
- 31:00you know graduated high school very very smart guy decided that
- 31:07he just wanted to kind of do away with all that and live in
- 31:11the wilderness live and originally that was like living
- 31:14in various places. I think in deserts with similar
- 31:17people kind of Off the Grid type people and then eventually his
- 31:22ultimate plan was to go to Alaska and live out in the To
- 31:25this. And unfortunately he met a
- 31:28tragic end. And you know it it's documented
- 31:31in that movie and they did, a pretty faithful decent telling
- 31:35of his story, I think. But the reason why I bring it up
- 31:38is there's a moment in that movie where and I don't know if
- 31:41this is actually something that happened in real life, but in
- 31:44the movie, he cuts up his credit cards.
- 31:47He I think he burns his passport, he gets rid of that,
- 31:50he's got no i.d., no social security number.
- 31:53None of these burners got rid of all of that.
- 31:55That one night he gets desperate he needs somewhere to stay.
- 32:00They won't accept it when they mean because he's got no way of
- 32:04proving who he is. Now, as I said before, in the
- 32:08UK, I know that there's many places that you don't need those
- 32:12IDs situations. I think cash is just fine, but
- 32:16there's a lot of instances where you do need it.
- 32:20And it's crazy. But as I understand in the
- 32:21state's, it's like, yeah, that if you don't have it, that's it.
- 32:25You just turned away from everywhere.
- 32:27And it's, I mean, these things cost money as well.
- 32:29I imagine at the DMV, that's probably like, at least a
- 32:31hundred dollars or something like to just get, oh no, they're
- 32:35inexpensive. That's the hardest part.
- 32:37There are like 12 to 20 dollars. Oh, not.
- 32:39Okay, I was okay with just an arduous process burger at
- 32:43McDonalds. It's just the process.
- 32:45That's right for his par, is it? It's something so inexpensive.
- 32:49But so, She'll like you know I pay more for that for almost
- 32:55everything I get for anyone and an ID is like so cheap and
- 33:00expensive. Was that just to look a lot of
- 33:02Hoops to go through. Like, what kind of stuff do you
- 33:04need to provide for the idea, I think you mentioned before that,
- 33:07you need a dress or something in the address if you and here's
- 33:11the other kicker there, depending on the state.
- 33:14If you don't have any current identification or any way to
- 33:16prove who you are, you can't get that.
- 33:19I ID. Because they don't know.
- 33:21If you are, who you say? You are you call it.
- 33:24Oh. Do you need an ID to get an ID?
- 33:27Some form. So if you have like a social
- 33:30security card or birth certificate, and then you go to
- 33:32get a replacement ID, okay? You are who you are because, you
- 33:35know, you have a second form, a different type.
- 33:38If you've lost everything, it can be really hard and get like
- 33:43a buff certificate with that prove that I suppose.
- 33:46Yeah, if you can get your Social Security or birth certificate,
- 33:48you can get things like that if you know, all the information.
- 33:53So like it depends on really and it depends on who Dealing with
- 33:58and I have been in instances where someone at the DMV was a
- 34:02little bit more compassionate. Like I said, and willing to kind
- 34:05of work on bend a rule a bit and say, like, okay, tell me more
- 34:10about everything. Where was this address?
- 34:12What was your maiden name? Blah, blah, blah, going through
- 34:16a whole set of questions and finally got to my like, okay, I
- 34:20know you are who you say you are we're okay?
- 34:24But you know, as with anything that's That requires somebody to
- 34:28be compassionate and willing. You get the wrong person on the
- 34:32wrong day, and that might not might not happen.
- 34:37So, it just depends and it's frustrating.
- 34:40It's hard. So, you might have to go one
- 34:42place before you go to another. And what I found here with
- 34:45getting jobs is most of them, almost all require two forms of
- 34:50ID. So if you get just one, you
- 34:53still can't go get a job. You have to have a second form.
- 34:56So, I do now is if I'm going to help somebody get back on their
- 35:00feet and off the street and go through that process, the first
- 35:04step is making sure they have two forms of identification so
- 35:08that we can. And I'm not saying like I wait
- 35:10and I don't do anything until they figure that out.
- 35:12No, no. That's the first step is how do
- 35:14we go and get that? How do we make an appointment
- 35:16for you to get your identification?
- 35:17How do we make an appointment for you?
- 35:19Social Security and then maybe you can work with an
- 35:22organization or whatever and order your birth certificate get
- 35:26at least 24. Arms.
- 35:27And then we can line up our job. And then we can get you a place
- 35:31and so on, you know, it's a lengthy process.
- 35:33There's a lot of steps involved, but I hate to say it, but that's
- 35:38like the first thing that sucks is like until you have those.
- 35:42There's not much we can do, and it is out of my hand.
- 35:45That that's why I hate to say it.
- 35:46It's out of my hands, and it's frustrating because there's
- 35:48nothing I can do. There's no amount of money, no
- 35:51person. Nothing that can change that.
- 35:53At least, as of now, So this clears up a lot of at least my
- 35:59understanding of why there's such a huge homeless problem in
- 36:03the state's. I mean, don't get me wrong, we
- 36:04got a big homeless problem here in the UK, but we at least do
- 36:08have like Charities that sort of help the homeless get back on
- 36:12their feet and such. We've got like things like
- 36:15halfway houses, there's different schemes as different
- 36:18charities is different. Things put in place to try and
- 36:22help people. We have stuff like that too.
- 36:25It's dry, it's so vast. There's so many exactly.
- 36:28Yeah. And it's like, you know, one
- 36:33thing from this compassionate people, you often hear is I'll
- 36:35just go get a job but it's not that as used every as you've
- 36:38outlined there. It's not really that
- 36:40straightforward. It's not like yet and going back
- 36:43to what you said earlier about. Like if you're in a situation
- 36:46where you've set up camp somewhere and it's like you
- 36:49don't have the time I'm to do something like that.
- 36:51Yeah, and you don't, you know, it's not safe to do that and
- 36:56it's like, What do you even start like that?
- 37:00That guy that you spoke about earlier who been hit over the
- 37:03head and he's dealing with all this stuff.
- 37:04I think, if I remember correctly, he was with someone
- 37:07at least in the video but let's like it's just him and that one
- 37:10person and that's it and and he's got think about him and
- 37:13that other person as well as another thing to contend with.
- 37:17So many factors at play. I where do you even begin trying
- 37:20to get yourself out of that situation?
- 37:22Yeah, no, that's the hard part. And a lot of times like this,
- 37:27recent couple where the wife is like, six months pregnant.
- 37:32They, he doesn't want to leave her alone because they have some
- 37:36kind of close calls of things happening to her.
- 37:39So he can't really. And they have a dog on top of
- 37:42all of them, so that throws another element into the.
- 37:45A lot of places won't accept dogs.
- 37:48What do you do with your dog all day?
- 37:50What do you do with your pregnant wife?
- 37:52Wife that, you know, she has a lot of great things have
- 37:57happened and I'm still working very closely with them.
- 38:01You know. They actually, you know, I
- 38:03haven't even shared the video yet.
- 38:04That's like my I might get that one out today.
- 38:06It might be tomorrow. I have to go through to make it.
- 38:09But anyway, they've been doing wonderful and I help them get
- 38:12back on their feet and other working, both of them, and it's
- 38:17great. But you know that what kept them
- 38:19in that situation like they even went and found a job where they
- 38:22can Together and take the dog with them.
- 38:25And yet they fired them because they were they stunk and they
- 38:30smell like a campfire because they were burning a fire to stay
- 38:33warm. So they were covered in almost
- 38:36like stood and black, but they couldn't go clean it off.
- 38:39They had nowhere to do it and you can't come to work like
- 38:43this, you know, which is understandable in a way because
- 38:45we've been raised with only need to present yourself
- 38:49professionally for a job to go into work, you go.
- 38:52Into a job. Looking good, you have nice
- 38:55clean clothes, you know you're clean shaven or just whatever.
- 39:00I mean it to be everything but you know, you present yourself
- 39:04well and you know, these people don't even have that option.
- 39:07So at some point they could get let go if they're even hired.
- 39:12And so it's a big misconception out there to just go get a job,
- 39:19just go get a job. They obviously don't want to
- 39:21work, they don't care. That's why.
- 39:23There are a handful that don't, you know, but most of them
- 39:28actually do, they just don't have the resources to make it
- 39:31happen and a lot of it could just be somebody be willing to
- 39:35take the time to let them use their address and give them a
- 39:38ride to the DMV or taken to the Social Security office.
- 39:43So they can get a social security card and pay the couple
- 39:46bucks that are cost to get that done and I know that doesn't.
- 39:50It's not a lot, it doesn't cost. A lot it's definitely out of
- 39:53time. It's some effort you have to set
- 39:55aside and I'm not telling everybody to go do that for
- 39:57everybody. They run into by all means.
- 39:59I'm not saying that, but if you want to help that might be one
- 40:02of the first things that you asked before you throw out, get
- 40:05a job, you know, How many people do you?
- 40:10Resta mate, you've helped. All I don't know because I don't
- 40:15film everything and you know, even if I'm in a rush and I'm in
- 40:22the middle of doing something and I see someone, I still get
- 40:24him some food or whatever. They need right there.
- 40:28If I have things in my car, I have one of my cars is always
- 40:31loaded with. It's always got tents and
- 40:34sleeping bags and backpacks and I have totes in there.
- 40:37They're full of items that people could use.
- 40:39So as I'm driving around, if I see someone, I even if I'm in a
- 40:42rush, I And them something, if I'm in that car.
- 40:45But if I'm in a different vehicle, or I'm out with my
- 40:47girlfriend or something, then I get them a meal if they want it,
- 40:52you know? And I'm going in a restaurant,
- 40:54they're sitting outside sometimes like the other day.
- 40:57I offered to buy you guys some food, and we went out for dinner
- 40:59and he just wanted money, and that's all he would take.
- 41:02So, at the time, I didn't have anything else with me, so I
- 41:06didn't, I was frustrating. That was like, man, I can't
- 41:09really take the time to go and get him anything else right now.
- 41:12But he said, He was good and he said he had plenty of food.
- 41:14So that's my main concern. I don't know.
- 41:18I don't know in my videos. I think I have well over 100.
- 41:25So as far as like people on camera somewhere over 100 and
- 41:30other than a but it's definitely up there, it's might be double
- 41:34that, I don't know, I don't know, it's hard to say.
- 41:37I don't keep track of that I got into this, with this, arbitrary
- 41:41goal that I could get 100 people off the street.
- 41:45And I was like, I'm gonna do that, man.
- 41:48It's going to be so cool. I'm going to knock it out and
- 41:50what if I get 100 one year and then I get two or three of the
- 41:53next year, And you know, diving deeper realized, okay.
- 41:57It's going to take a little bit longer than I expected but I'll
- 42:01still do it. It's just going to take longer
- 42:03as with anything. You know, we all said pretty
- 42:05high goals for ourselves, right? And sometimes you have to, you
- 42:10know, kind of realize, okay? What's realistic here?
- 42:12How far can I get and go for it, you know, now, let it discourage
- 42:16you, but go for it. So now I'm at like somewhere,
- 42:20like 12 or 14, something like that, maybe 15 people that have
- 42:24helped. Get back on their feet and off
- 42:26of the streets. And again, I'm just one guy.
- 42:28I started doing this, it doing over and all that back last year
- 42:33in June. So I'm not even at the one-year
- 42:36Mark yet. So I think you know that number
- 42:40is going to grow as time goes on and it might turn into something
- 42:43much larger. I don't know how far I want to
- 42:46go with. Turning it into an organization
- 42:50and changing how I do things because I feel like if I turn it
- 42:54into Too much of a format, you know, and I'll go into what's
- 43:00already out there and not have it so customized and tailored
- 43:04for each person. And that's what I don't want to
- 43:07do. I want to make sure that I can
- 43:08get, you know like I when I approach people and ask them
- 43:11what they want to eat. I don't just walk up and give
- 43:13them whatever I have I ask them exactly what they want.
- 43:16You know if they no matter whatever they ask me for I will
- 43:19find a way to get it. If it's attainable I would get
- 43:22it and I think that that's It's special to know that somebody is
- 43:26actually getting you exactly what you want.
- 43:28Not just what's given in a situation like that, like this
- 43:32most recent video when I walked up.
- 43:33So I told her I said, you know, I'll give you anything.
- 43:36You want to eat right now he's like, oh, I'll just take
- 43:38anything. I says, no.
- 43:39No. Today's the day you get to
- 43:41choose. What do you want?
- 43:43And that's one of mine bone and all she wanted was something to
- 43:46share with other people. And that in itself was just
- 43:50beautiful, you know, and most people don't realize that most
- 43:55of these people out here want to share and help others as well.
- 44:00And they do, they have to, they have to work together.
- 44:02They have a lot of people that their camping with or working
- 44:06with that are close to them. So it ended up being pizza
- 44:10because we can get I get a bunch of pizzas and chicken wings and
- 44:14she can share all that but that tends to be an item sometimes It
- 44:18does give out and she told me that somebody recently gave her
- 44:22a box of pizza when she said you was hungry.
- 44:24That was empty and no pizza in it.
- 44:26They thought that was, that was kind of funny.
- 44:29That's a, a really cruel joke to play on someone who's starving.
- 44:33I don't understand why you would do that.
- 44:35But, you know, that's what happens to these people out of
- 44:37there. It's tougher than you think.
- 44:42But imagine being so cruel to another human being.
- 44:45Wow, that just sorry. I just caught me by surprise
- 44:48like, you know, you get these assholes in life sometimes but
- 44:52like, wow, yeah. Damn.
- 44:58Yeah, 70 questions. Um, You kind of okay, this next
- 45:03question. You kind of like gave us a bit
- 45:06of an outline in the beginning but I just want to kind of get
- 45:08your, your kind of philosophy on this.
- 45:13Why should we help other people? Well, that's the only way we can
- 45:17make things better. Working together.
- 45:21We can't count on on agencies, or governments or corporations
- 45:27or anything to have our best interest.
- 45:29We need to have each other's best interest at heart.
- 45:33That's a, I think that's the only way we're going to see true
- 45:36change. And at some point when we make
- 45:39that the trend, or what school as you know, humanity is done
- 45:44with many things. All of a sudden, the
- 45:46corporations and the government. Or whoever start going, oh, we
- 45:49need to get on this because this is what people really want.
- 45:52There's no stopping it. Now, we have to do something on
- 45:55but we're where it starts. It's incredible moment for all
- 46:01the time coming. Gosh, you've achieved so much in
- 46:04such a short space of time, like about 15 people, get off the
- 46:09streets and less than a year, you've helped you say estimate
- 46:13100, there's more you helping people all the time.
- 46:17Incredible throughout that time, what would you say has been the
- 46:21biggest lessons you've learned? Through doing it.
- 46:25And from people, Well, the biggest I think there's there's
- 46:30a handful like as I already mentioned, making sure that we
- 46:34can get documents secured before we do it.
- 46:36Try to do too much. As I've dealt with that many
- 46:40times where we get one, we don't have another or we have none and
- 46:44we're trying to move forward and it's just this stone wall.
- 46:46We had no matter what we do and it's really frustrating, and
- 46:49it's kind of heartbreaking, so making sure that that's knocked
- 46:53out before we go to the next steps.
- 46:56That's one. The other is how I've learned
- 46:59how to read people better. I die already started fairly
- 47:03good but you know, and I always give people the benefit of the
- 47:07doubt and I tell people all the time saying, honestly in your
- 47:09situation, if you have a front or a story or something that
- 47:13you're putting off there, that helps you survive.
- 47:16I get it. I don't care if you lie to me.
- 47:18It's not a problem. Just fill me what you're willing
- 47:22to do, you know, I believe what I see, you know, you can keep
- 47:26lying to me all you. Kari makes things a lot harder
- 47:29to say. Okay, you need this but you
- 47:31didn't really or you have that and you don't really whatever
- 47:34this makes things. A little bit tougher.
- 47:36It'll be a lot easier if you just honors, but at the end of
- 47:39the day, as long as you do, what you say, you're going to do and
- 47:42you show me that you're willing to and work with you and trust,
- 47:46and we build that relationship, then we can move forward,
- 47:49whatever it may be. So learning how to read people
- 47:52better something that's always on going and I'll always be
- 47:55getting better at. And I think that Is also going
- 47:58to change depending on the region.
- 47:59Because even in different states, here, people are going
- 48:03to have kind of different situations of things are dealing
- 48:05with here. It's really cold in the winter
- 48:07and it gets cold. Not really, really cool.
- 48:10We don't go below zero but we do get cold, it gets to freezing
- 48:15and stuff and there are people that die freezing on the street.
- 48:19So yeah, like I know, as I venture out into different
- 48:24areas, I'm going to have to constantly adapt and See what
- 48:28works best for them there and figure that out which I'm
- 48:31excited. The kind of stuff excites me,
- 48:34give it a damn thing. So I'm excited to venture out
- 48:37and help other people in other places.
- 48:40Also just learning exactly what people really need.
- 48:43What's generic, and what I can turn this into and where I can
- 48:46go with it. And so what it's going to end up
- 48:50being is kind of a one for one style company.
- 48:54I know that there's a handful out there that sell Items.
- 48:58Whether it's socks, or something like that and for every one you
- 49:01bought it, you were away. And that's what I think I'm
- 49:03going to integrate into everything I'm doing, because
- 49:06I'm already giving a lot of way through the Amazon wish list,
- 49:09why not to have those items that, you know, are branded, and
- 49:14people can buy to show their support and also know that that
- 49:19second pair went to somebody who really needs it and then the
- 49:22flip side to that and what makes it going to, what makes it much
- 49:25different is they're going to get to see.
- 49:27See, you know, through the content of where it's going and
- 49:32I think that's going to be really powerful and cool because
- 49:34it's already happening. So why not make it something
- 49:37people can be more involved with and also something they can get
- 49:39back to. So somebody gets an essential
- 49:42item with a need, whether it be a shirt or be some socks, or a
- 49:46hat, whatever it may be and they can have their own and nobody
- 49:50knew somebody who could really use it.
- 49:54A couple of final questions for you completely unrelated to what
- 49:58we're talking about today, sir. What's the best advice you've
- 50:03ever received? Oh I wish I could say it word
- 50:09for word. This is I don't know if it's
- 50:10best best but it's something that I thought was really
- 50:13interesting that somebody told me there was a homeless lady
- 50:15that actually got you got hustled out of a lot of money,
- 50:20my kind of put her in her situation and her outlook on.
- 50:23It was really interesting. She said that, you know it's
- 50:29it's the hustled who it's the hustled who gets hustled me.
- 50:35That you want to believe the Hustler giving you this story
- 50:39and trying to take advantage of you.
- 50:41And it's your fault because you wanted to believe that and you
- 50:45can allow yourself to and you got hustled yourself and I don't
- 50:51know. I mean, I feel like that can
- 50:53play into a lot of things, and it doesn't have to be word for
- 50:57word, you know, how that goes her life in general of how you
- 51:01look at it stuff. And and the Outlook after being
- 51:05Kind of screwed over and hustled and taken for a lot in her
- 51:10situation. Where that, you know, that
- 51:12amount of money worth it was like about dollars for her was
- 51:16that was like 10 or 100 for people, you know, like us or
- 51:21other people, whatever, it's all relevant, depending on your
- 51:23situation. So that was a lot of money to
- 51:26her and her Outlook was that she wasn't on her toes or not.
- 51:30It was her own fault and I just thought that was kind of
- 51:34beautiful. In a way because she doesn't
- 51:37blame it on anybody. She didn't think that, you know,
- 51:41even though this guy with, you know, a bad person and out
- 51:46hustling, people and ended up putting a gun to her head to
- 51:50take her for that monthly. She still said, hey, it's not
- 51:56his fault. I put myself in that situation
- 51:59and I didn't know, I didn't do something quick enough to get
- 52:02out of it. I don't know if that kind of
- 52:03blew my mind because, you know, it's nice to, it's easy to be in
- 52:08control of your own life. And and your own actions but you
- 52:11can't control someone else's and to not blame them.
- 52:14When you make the wrong decision is important.
- 52:17I think That's what I kind of took for me.
- 52:23What's the biggest life lesson you've learned so far?
- 52:29Now really the biggest life lesson is just that we are all
- 52:34human beings, doesn't matter. Race religion where you come
- 52:39from my or whether you're homeless or you're a
- 52:42millionaire. At the end of the day, we're all
- 52:46just human beings, and we're all the same, you know, deep down.
- 52:51Everybody wants different things.
- 52:52Everybody came from different backgrounds.
- 52:54Everybody speaks differently. And that doesn't make us really
- 52:59any different, you know, deep down, we all the same needs and
- 53:05it's important for us to really realize that at the end of the
- 53:07day, especially when it comes to helping somebody.
- 53:11It's been absolute, pleasure speaking with you, right?
- 53:16Is there anything that you'd like to leave us with any
- 53:19upcoming projects or some final thoughts that you'd like to
- 53:21share with our listeners? So I have my microphone back
- 53:27here and there will be just need podcast coming soon.
- 53:31Whoo, are we good? And that's gonna be me
- 53:34interviewing people. I've worked with and people that
- 53:37I've helped either get back on their feet or people that Maybe
- 53:42they haven't gotten that far, but we'll just like our
- 53:44interactions what went on off-camera, like, what did they
- 53:47think about me approaching them? What was there inside and you
- 53:53know, where are they going? What's what's going on in their
- 53:56lives today? And also maybe throwing in some
- 54:01other people that do things similar, to me.
- 54:03Some other influencers here or there, or people that have just
- 54:06been homeless and work their way out of it, and gotten back on
- 54:09their feet and hearing their story.
- 54:10And how They did it. I think that it's kind of a
- 54:13central to share that. So that people, that are
- 54:15struggling can see that it's possible, and they could do it
- 54:18too. So, the podcast, I feel like is
- 54:21the best way, and I already had my followers by me.
- 54:25Almost everything I need to do it, so, there's no going back.
- 54:28Now, I'm so happy for you. I thought think that's a
- 54:32brilliant ideas. I don't know that I've ever seen
- 54:35that concept either before, but I know for definite is going to
- 54:41It's going to be brilliant because you see you see a lot of
- 54:44these comments. I've seen them in your videos as
- 54:46well where people like ah yeah. Please give us a follow up.
- 54:49Let us know how such and such person is doing and now you can
- 54:52see it. I mean, I think if nothing else
- 54:55what it will demonstrate is, hey, this is the power of what
- 54:58your actions can achieve and where it can lead and how it can
- 55:01completely change. Not just one person's life, but
- 55:04multiple people's lives. Just amazing stuff, man.
- 55:09I really wish you the best of luck.
- 55:11Aqua. That can't wait to see it come
- 55:12out. It's going to be awesome.
- 55:13Yeah, I'm really excited about it and it's another way to
- 55:16update people on everything that's been going on.
- 55:18And I don't have to necessarily turn it into a short form video.
- 55:23It's long and we can get a lot more out of it.
- 55:27It will be a little tricky though because some of these
- 55:29people talk very low, some of them, you know, they don't have
- 55:33teeth and it's going to be a little bit different on
- 55:35microphones, you know, but it's something that I think we need
- 55:40to do. And I think I think that
- 55:42everyone, I've mentioned it to that have been helping that have
- 55:44been working with are already excited about it and asking me
- 55:46when are we going to do this? So I think it's going to be
- 55:50really cool real positive. Good stuff.
- 55:53Yeah, could put it better myself.
- 55:56It's been a real pleasure, just learning your story learning
- 55:59about your experiences. And, yeah, I just really wish
- 56:03you the best of this work. It's truly inspiring stuff.
- 56:06And thank you so much for the work you do, man.
- 56:08We're pleasure. Whereabouts in the UK, are you
- 56:13I'm based in Manchester right now in the United Kingdom?
- 56:17Okay, well maybe one day down the road I can get across the
- 56:21pond And and see if I can help some people over there.
- 56:24That would be awesome, man. Absolutely.
- 56:27Yeah, man definitely. Yeah.
- 56:29My dad was actually born in Bristol.
- 56:31Oh well bigger. Yeah.
- 56:33Awesome. Yeah.
- 56:34Yeah. Super cool.
- 56:36Cool man. Listen, it's been an absolute
- 56:38pleasure. I wish you the best of luck.
