- 0:01Speaker 1: Do you want some more stories?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Sure, Gina, you know international traveler went to Rome? Did
- 0:08Speaker 2: you ever did you ever run into your son?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Well, I was going to tell the story of why
- 0:13Speaker 3: we went to Rome, and he's part of that.
- 0:17Speaker 1: So it's spring break and.
- 0:21Speaker 3: A great teacher at Judge Memorial, the Latin teacher mister Saran,
- 0:26Speaker 3: He is famous for putting these trips together.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Festus many years ago.
- 0:33Speaker 3: When he was a Latin student of mister Saran, took
- 0:37Speaker 3: a spring break trip with him and mister Saran and
- 0:40Speaker 3: his wife jen Bill.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You know his wife jen Oh, Yeah, because she has
- 0:44Speaker 2: the same name as my wife.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Super nice people and they put this trip together and Mohammed,
- 0:52Speaker 3: my youngest son, not the prophet, wanted to go on
- 0:56Speaker 3: the trip, and there was some discussion as to whether
- 0:59Speaker 3: we would want to be chaperones on this trip, which
- 1:02Speaker 3: I said absolutely not.
- 1:04Speaker 1: That sounds horrible.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Why would you do that? That was very wise of you.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And I also don't think Mohammad wanted us.
- 1:11Speaker 3: No, it's not fun to have your parents to get
- 1:15Speaker 3: away from them for a while. But we thought maybe
- 1:20Speaker 3: this is an opportunity for us to go to Italy
- 1:23Speaker 3: and just sort of be.
- 1:24Speaker 1: In the neighborhood, but not officially.
- 1:27Speaker 2: So what are you doing so you could just keep
- 1:31Speaker 2: an eye on them.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Well, here's here's our exact thinking.
- 1:36Speaker 3: If he loses his passport, it will be easier for
- 1:39Speaker 3: us to deal with it if we're.
- 1:40Speaker 1: There, because he will. He did not lose it, but
- 1:45Speaker 1: we thought if he lost it.
- 1:46Speaker 2: He seems the kind of kid.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I mean, it's because the kids are responsible for their
- 1:52Speaker 3: own passport, like it's not like they collect them all
- 1:55Speaker 3: and then.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Like they should, they.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Here's your passport, you're responsible for it. But my husband
- 2:03Speaker 1: and I thought, well, well we'll just go now. They
- 2:05Speaker 1: went everywhere. They went to.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Florence, Milan, CCI, Pompeii, Verona, Venice, they.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Tour it all over.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, we said.
- 2:17Speaker 3: We're just going to go to Rome. We're just going
- 2:19Speaker 3: to stay put in one place. We're in the neighborhood.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And to answer your question, no, never ran into him.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Oh it was fine, Yeah, which was fine.
- 2:28Speaker 3: The way we planned it though, is that we left
- 2:32Speaker 3: the day after they did. So get him on the plane,
- 2:35Speaker 3: get him out, we'll leave the next day. And we
- 2:38Speaker 3: came home the day before the same thing. We're here,
- 2:41Speaker 3: we can so when Festus went on this trip a
- 2:45Speaker 3: long time ago. When we went to meet him at
- 2:48Speaker 3: the airport, I thought it would be funny to make
- 2:50Speaker 3: a sign where you, you know, you wait for your
- 2:53Speaker 3: missionary to come back.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I sent the picture to Elder Festus.
- 2:58Speaker 2: By the way, Gina, did you lose your past?
- 3:00Speaker 1: No? I do not, so you yeah so so.
- 3:04Speaker 3: So when Festus came home, I had a sign that
- 3:06Speaker 3: said welcome home, Elder Festus. So when we went to
- 3:10Speaker 3: pick up Mohammed, I made a sign.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Now, when I did Festus as sign, I just wrote with.
- 3:15Speaker 3: A marker on a on a post report.
- 3:18Speaker 1: This one I actually got lettering.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Don't let Festus know it'll be so upset. You love
- 3:25Speaker 2: Mohammed more than me. Huh.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I just I had I had crafts available, so I
- 3:30Speaker 3: made him a sign that said welcome home, Elder Mohammed.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Because that's funny.
- 3:34Speaker 3: How many Elder Mohammed's do you think are coming back
- 3:36Speaker 3: from their mission.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It's a pretty common name, though, but.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm curious if anybody has ever known.
- 3:43Speaker 2: An elder And you know, I bet there is one.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm sure of it.
- 3:49Speaker 3: So we're standing there waiting for him to come out,
- 3:52Speaker 3: and this is this is my child, who is ear
- 3:56Speaker 3: to ir grin three hundred and sixty five days a year,
- 3:59Speaker 3: just a kid. He walks out and he is not
- 4:04Speaker 3: ear to ear grinned And at first I thought, oh, no,
- 4:07Speaker 3: he's embarrassed that I made this sign.
- 4:13Speaker 1: No, so what's.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Wrong Mohammed And he said, well, my bag made it
- 4:20Speaker 3: here mm hmmm, because he had an air tag which
- 4:24Speaker 3: we put in it for another rate to keep track of. Yeah,
- 4:27Speaker 3: he said, I saw on the plane that my bag
- 4:29Speaker 3: made it here. And I went to the the carousel.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I saw another bag on there that looked like my bag.
- 4:39Speaker 2: No, this happens fairly off.
- 4:41Speaker 3: My bag was not there, and he was looking at
- 4:44Speaker 3: his phone, and he watched the bag go out.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Into the parking lot on the freeway.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And happens pretty often because they look the same, you know.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And we said, well, you know, maybe we can
- 4:58Speaker 3: track it and go to their house and knock on
- 5:00Speaker 3: the door. But as we're watching it, it's going up
- 5:03Speaker 3: Parley's Canyon. Oh, it's going to Evanston.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Oh No. And Muhammed is.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Just, you know, he's exhausted because he's been traveling. But
- 5:14Speaker 3: like all of his souvenirs and his clothes, like every everything.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Was in the suitcase.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Well, and I said, I said, honey, I promise when
- 5:26Speaker 3: that guy gets home and opens that he doesn't want
- 5:30Speaker 3: your suitcase.
- 5:30Speaker 1: He wants his suitcase, he's gonna bring.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It back, assuming he's honest or assuming it is a guy.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I mean, I don't know. I don't
- 5:39Speaker 1: know why.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think it's a joy.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think I think I think women checked it.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Women.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I think we would know if it's their bag or not, like,
- 5:47Speaker 3: this isn't my bag exactly. And so we went to
- 5:52Speaker 3: file acclaim Delta. But this isn't Delta's fault. They didn't
- 5:56Speaker 3: misplace a bag. Some guy just picked or girl just
- 6:01Speaker 3: picked it up and took it. They were very nice
- 6:04Speaker 3: and helpful though, because they took down all our information
- 6:08Speaker 3: and said, well, if they come back, we'll and I've
- 6:13Speaker 3: had it before where we've lost luggage and they'll deliver
- 6:16Speaker 3: it to your house.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I've only I think lost a bag once and
- 6:20Speaker 2: they finally did find it and bring it to the house.
- 6:23Speaker 3: But so so I promised Mohammed, I said, well, I
- 6:29Speaker 3: promised this yet not yet, but I said, I promise
- 6:32Speaker 3: this person does not want your bag.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They want their bag.
- 6:35Speaker 3: They're they're gonna come, but if they're all the way
- 6:37Speaker 3: in Wyoming, it might be.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Now when was when was this? Uh, Sunday, Sunday, Monday?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Is there is there any ID in the bag? Does
- 6:49Speaker 2: he have it like a tag on the bag with
- 6:51Speaker 2: his contact information on it?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Well then they then they should have called by now.
- 6:56Speaker 2: They probably found a lot of cool stuff in there
- 6:58Speaker 2: and said let's just keep this.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I said, what, so what what did you have?
- 7:02Speaker 2: This clothing is nicer than mine?
- 7:04Speaker 1: What were your you know, souvenirs you got?
- 7:07Speaker 3: And when they were in Venice, they went to Venice
- 7:10Speaker 3: is famous for their glass blowing. They went to a
- 7:13Speaker 3: glass blowing demonstration, and he bought.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Some cool pieces of pieces.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Of glass that he you know, those kind of things
- 7:21Speaker 3: you can't you know, Well, I can go buy them
- 7:23Speaker 3: new clothes, but that's not replacing.
- 7:25Speaker 2: The any money in there.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Uh No. But so I'm putting it out there.
- 7:31Speaker 3: If you like, flew home from from Italy and and
- 7:36Speaker 3: you live in Wyoming and you got home with the
- 7:38Speaker 3: wrong bag, could.
- 7:39Speaker 2: We get the bag bag I got cheap to herd.
- 7:42Speaker 2: That's why it's so important to individualize your bag.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, because they all look alike.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It's true. I remember asking somebody once, I said, that
- 7:52Speaker 2: bag is just such a bizarre color. On purpose? Yep,
- 7:57Speaker 2: on purpose, because everybody has black ones, you know gray,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I see a lot of gray.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a blue bag. Is a blue away bag?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Those away two cases?
- 8:08Speaker 3: Those that's so if if you live in Wyoming and
- 8:11Speaker 3: accidentally took that, if you could bring it back, please, well.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Can't you? Is the is the can't you go follow
- 8:19Speaker 2: the tractor?
- 8:19Speaker 1: I mean yeah, but are we going to drive to
- 8:21Speaker 1: Wyoming to get it?
- 8:22Speaker 2: I don't what. It's an hour and a half. Where
- 8:27Speaker 2: is it in Evanston? I think, so that's a that's
- 8:30Speaker 2: an hour. Let's not go.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Knock on their door and say, yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Buy some lottery tickets.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe that's what.
- 8:39Speaker 2: That's exactly why. Probably would have done it the next
- 8:41Speaker 2: day if the track, if the tracker is still viable.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I'm surprised he hasn't contacted you, Yeah, because I think
- 8:47Speaker 1: he wants his bag. Doesn't he want his bag?
- 8:49Speaker 3: Oh?
- 8:49Speaker 2: But he's contacting Delton and they say, oh, yeah, we
- 8:53Speaker 2: got your bag right here. And so I got two bags? Now, yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 2: I want to do this one. I don't care. Huh.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I'm going to follow this throughout the day
- 9:03Speaker 3: for you.
- 9:03Speaker 2: And keep you Yeah. I mean, I don't. I don't
- 9:06Speaker 2: understand why you're you just don't go drive up there.
- 9:10Speaker 2: If you get on I eighty, it takes no time
- 9:12Speaker 2: to get to Evans.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Do you want? Do you want tickets?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Do you want?
- 9:17Speaker 1: You should?
- 9:18Speaker 2: I just yeah, I'm I'm really I'm paranoid about grabbing
- 9:21Speaker 2: the wrong bag, you know, And I have actually I
- 9:26Speaker 2: have grabbed the started to grab the wrong one, and
- 9:29Speaker 2: then but I see a tag and I go the
- 9:30Speaker 2: Wait a minute, that's not.
- 9:31Speaker 1: My Yeah, so that's wow.
- 9:35Speaker 2: We need to find out what this guy's doing with
- 9:37Speaker 2: your bag. Yeah, this has been too long. It's been
- 9:40Speaker 2: too long. It has been too long.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Let's get him.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I do agree it is a guy, though.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Is that weird that I just assume it's a guy.
- 9:53Speaker 2: No, I'm I know it's a guy.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I think women like you would instantly know if it
- 9:57Speaker 3: was not your bag.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You wouldn't have to.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Open it to Are you saying that women have some
- 10:01Speaker 2: special bag sense? I just think, well, they just have sense.
- 10:05Speaker 2: That's the difference. They have some some special esp they
- 10:08Speaker 2: just have sense.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Oh, This is If you mark an air tag lost,
- 10:12Speaker 3: it will notify any iPhone around the air tag that
- 10:15Speaker 3: it's lost and play a sound.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Oh okay, there you go. Maybe we'll do that.
