- 3:22Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male
- 3:27animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against
- 3:31all the gods of Egypt. For I am the Lord.
- 3:35Dad. But the blood on your door,
- 3:37steps will serve as a sign marking the houses where you
- 3:41were staying. When I see the blood, I will
- 3:44pass over you. This plague of death will not
- 3:48touch you and I strike the land of Egypt.
- 3:52This is the day to remember each year from generation to
- 3:56generation. You must celebrate it as a
- 3:59special Festival to the Lord. This is the law for all time.
- 4:05For seven days, the bread you eat, must be made without yeast.
- 4:09On the first day of the festival, remove every trace of
- 4:13yeast from your home's. Everyone who eats bread made
- 4:17with yeast. During the seven days of the
- 4:19festival will be cut off from the community.
- 4:21Of Israel on the first day of the festival.
- 4:24And again, on the 7th day, all the people must observe an
- 4:28official day for Holy assembly. No, work of any kind may be done
- 4:33on these days except in the preparation of food.
- 4:37Celebrate this Festival of unleavened bread for it will
- 4:42remind you that I brought your forces out of the land of Egypt
- 4:46on this very day. The festival will be a permanent
- 4:50law for you, celebrate this day, from generation, to generation
- 4:54the bread. You eat must be without yeast
- 4:58from the evening of the 14th day of the first month until the
- 5:02evening of the 21st, day of that month.
- 5:04During those seven days, there must be No, trace of yeast in
- 5:09your homes. Anyone who eats anything made
- 5:12with yeast during this week will be cut off from the community of
- 5:15Israel. These regulations apply both to
- 5:19the foreigners living among you and to the native-born.
- 5:22Israelites, during those days, you must not eat anything made
- 5:27with yeast wherever you live eat, only bread made without
- 5:31yeast. Then Moses called all the Elders
- 5:35of Israel together and said to them.
- 5:38Go pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families and
- 5:42Slaughter the Passover animal drain, the blood into a basin
- 5:47and take a bundle of hyssop, branches and dip it into the
- 5:50blood brush. The hyssop across the top and
- 5:53sides of the door frames of your houses and no one may go out
- 5:57through the door until morning for the Lord, will pass through
- 6:01the land to strike down. The Egyptians.
- 6:04But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the door
- 6:07frame, the Lord will pass over your home.
- 6:10He will not permit his death, angel to enter your house and
- 6:14strike you down. Remember these instructions are
- 6:18a permanent law that you and your descendants must observe
- 6:22forever. When you enter the land, the
- 6:25Lord has promised to give you you will continue to observe the
- 6:28ceremony then your children will ask, what?
- 6:32A ceremony mean and you will reply, it is the Passover
- 6:37sacrifice to the Lord. For he passed over the houses of
- 6:41the Israelites in Egypt and though he struck the Egyptians,
- 6:46he spared our families. When Moses had finished
- 6:50speaking. All the people bowed down to the
- 6:53ground and worshiped, So the people of Israel did just as the
- 6:58Lord had commanded through Moses and Aaron and that night at
- 7:01midnight, the Lord struck down. All the firstborn sons in the
- 7:06land of Egypt from the firstborn, son of pharaoh, who
- 7:10sat on his throne to the firstborn son of the prisoner in
- 7:14the dungeon. Even the first born of their
- 7:17livestock were killed pharaoh and all his officials and all
- 7:22the people of Egypt woke up during the night, Night and
- 7:26Loud, wailing Was Heard throughout the land of Egypt,
- 7:30there was not a single house for someone had not died.
- 7:36Pharaoh sent from Moses and Aaron during the night, get out.
- 7:41He ordered leave my people and take the rest of the Israelites
- 7:46with you go and Worship the Lord.
- 7:49As you have requested, take your flocks and herds as you said,
- 7:54and be gone. Go but bless me as you leave.
- 7:59All the Egyptians urge the people of Israel to get out of
- 8:03the land as quickly as possible. For they thought we will all
- 8:07die. The Israelites took their bread
- 8:11dough before the yeast was added.
- 8:13They wrap their needing boards in their cloaks and carry them
- 8:17on their shoulders. And the people of Israel did, as
- 8:21Moses had instructed, they ask the Egyptians for clothing, and
- 8:25articles of silver and gold, the Lord caused the Egyptians
- 8:29toolbox. Look favorably on the Israelites
- 8:31and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for.
- 8:34So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth that night, the
- 8:38people of Israel left rameses and started for succoth, there
- 8:43were about six hundred thousand men plus all the women and
- 8:47children, a rabble of non-israelites went with them
- 8:51along with great flocks and herds of livestock for bread,
- 8:56they bake flat cakes from the do without you.
- 8:59They had brought from Egypt, it was made without yeast because
- 9:02the people were driven out of Egypt in such a hurry, that they
- 9:06had no time to prepare the bread or other food.
- 9:09The people of Israel had lived in Egypt for 430 years.
- 9:15In fact, it was on the last day of the four hundred and
- 9:19thirtieth year that all the Lord's Force has left the land
- 9:23on this night. The Lord kept his promise to
- 9:26bring his people out of the land of Egypt.
- 9:29So This Night Belongs to him and it must be commemorated every
- 9:34year by all the Israelites from generation to generation.
- 9:40Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, these are the
- 9:43instructions for the Festival of Passover.
- 9:47No Outsiders are allowed to eat the Passover meal, but any
- 9:51slave, who has been purchased may eat it.
- 9:53If he has been circumcised, temporary residents and hide
- 9:58servants, may not eat it. Each Passover Lamb must be eaten
- 10:03in one house. Do not carry any of its meat
- 10:06outside and do not break any of its bones.
- 10:10The whole community of Israel must celebrate this Passover
- 10:13Festival. If there are foreigners living
- 10:16amongst you who want to celebrate the Lord's Passover?
- 10:19Let all their mails be circumcised only then may they
- 10:23celebrate the Passover with you. Like any native-born Israelite,
- 10:28but, no, uncircumcised male May ever eat the Passover meal.
- 10:32This instruction applies to everyone, whether a native-born
- 10:36Israelite or a foreigner living among you, So all the people of
- 10:41Israel, followed all the Lord's commands to Moses and Aaron on
- 10:45that very day, the Lord brought the people of Israel, out of the
- 10:51land of Egypt like an army. Jesus our Passover Lamb.
- 11:10This perfect sacrifice without blemish without broken bone,
- 11:15whose blood was spilled to protect us.
- 11:19We just praise you. That all those thousands and
- 11:25thousands of years ago. This was the plan for seeing and
- 11:30acted on in the people of Israel, but a mere shadow of
- 11:37what you would provide and how you would save us.
- 11:40We just lift you up and praise you, and thank you for your
- 11:46sacrifice for us. You are glorious and wonderful.
- 11:54And humble and filled with love for us.
- 11:57And we don't understand it, but she would grateful for it
- 12:00anyway. Thank you, Jesus.
- 12:02We pray all of this in your name.
- 12:05Amen.
