- 0:51Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to another episode of The Tailgate presented
- 0:56Speaker 1: by Continental Diamond. We are OZ two. I am pretty
- 1:02Speaker 1: upset about it, but I'm gonna deal with those emotions
- 1:06Speaker 1: in a fun way. As I talked to a fantastic
- 1:10Speaker 1: guest this week, I'm not even gonna do your credits
- 1:13Speaker 1: due because I can't. I'm a fan of you, and
- 1:15Speaker 1: I can't list them all off, and and we're not
- 1:17Speaker 1: gonna do that. But I'm psyched to have you. Is
- 1:20Speaker 1: Josh Dumel. New series on on CBS based on the
- 1:24Speaker 1: hit movie Buddy Games, diehard Viking fan. What's up, dude,
- 1:28Speaker 1: How you.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Doing, man, It's good to see you. Thanks for having me.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I will say you. Before we started recording, we were
- 1:34Speaker 1: chatting and you said a sentence that I didn't react to,
- 1:37Speaker 1: but I need you to know I was furious about
- 1:39Speaker 1: because in the Midwest, everybody loves fall. To me, it's
- 1:43Speaker 1: just the death of summer and sunshine and happiness. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: you said out loud, Hold on a second, my dog
- 1:51Speaker 1: just chased a lizard through like as I saw sun
- 1:55Speaker 1: beaming across your face. Yeah, that's hunting as you Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: as your little Friendschie sits in front of his pool
- 2:04Speaker 1: in the beautiful sun. I'm very jealous, man. But you were.
- 2:08Speaker 1: You were back in in the Great State for the
- 2:10Speaker 1: home opener, right, I was.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I was, and I thought for sure we'd have a nice,
- 2:14Speaker 2: you know, opening game against the Buccaneers new quarterback Baker,
- 2:19Speaker 2: who's always a little scary because he's he's a battler
- 2:22Speaker 2: of that dude. Yeah, but I figured we that was
- 2:25Speaker 2: a game that we would win handily. And I don't know,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I don't know what. I don't know what's going on.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I mean, I still believe in this team.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I really do.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I feel like I feel like we're going to get
- 2:35Speaker 3: it together.
- 2:36Speaker 2: We got another tough one this weekend against the Chargers
- 2:39Speaker 2: and they're owing to so something's got to give there.
- 2:41Speaker 3: You know, they want to win just like we want
- 2:43Speaker 3: to win. So I don't know. I'm hoping to get
- 2:46Speaker 3: our shit together soon.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I I also hoping that, and I it's always hard
- 2:51Speaker 1: to I know Baker Mayfield at times has been very,
- 2:54Speaker 1: very good, and it's not I don't spend my time
- 2:57Speaker 1: on this show going after people, but it never surprises me.
- 3:02Speaker 1: When he rises up. He feels like football's version of
- 3:05Speaker 1: a bar fighter. Yeah, Like, why do you got those
- 3:07Speaker 1: big pads on? He's a little too husky and a
- 3:10Speaker 1: little too cocky, Like at any given point in time,
- 3:13Speaker 1: you could see that guy getting beaten into a wall
- 3:15Speaker 1: or throwing three people out of door. There's just something
- 3:18Speaker 1: odd about him.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean since college.
- 3:21Speaker 2: If you think, if you go back to where where
- 3:22Speaker 2: do you start Texas Tech and then transferred to Oklahoma.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he walked on at both schools. Wild
- 3:30Speaker 3: won the starting job.
- 3:32Speaker 2: He is bounced around the league, was picked number one
- 3:35Speaker 2: overall by the Browns, played pretty well, made the Browns
- 3:39Speaker 2: better than they've been in years. Yeah, left there and
- 3:42Speaker 2: went to, uh, where do you go?
- 3:43Speaker 3: After that?
- 3:44Speaker 1: He went spent a little time in Carolina that was horrible,
- 3:48Speaker 1: and then he had that amazing football resurrection moment last year,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you remember, where it's like everyone's like his career is over.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And on Wednesday he flew to La started one game,
- 3:58Speaker 1: played horrible, but had an amazing drive and everybody's like
- 4:02Speaker 1: he's still a starter and he got a job.
- 4:04Speaker 3: It was crazy, and then he goes in back. The
- 4:07Speaker 3: guy is an absolute battler.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You know, I don't want to make this whole thing
- 4:10Speaker 2: about Baker Mayfield, but mad respect for that guy. Seriously,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I mean, talk about a dude who wasn't sort of
- 4:17Speaker 2: he didn't come up as a blue chip for his
- 4:19Speaker 2: whole life and was the sort of you know, you know,
- 4:22Speaker 2: don You're going to be a superstar. He's at a
- 4:24Speaker 2: battle for every single job he's had, and he just
- 4:26Speaker 2: seems to keep winning these jobs and he knows how
- 4:29Speaker 2: to win football games.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Absolutely, what was it? So here's the thing. You got
- 4:33Speaker 1: to be a part of the festivities for the opener.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I mean, you grew up a fan of the team.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I don't want to ask you, like, oh Josh, tell
- 4:40Speaker 1: me what that's like. I don't want to go radio
- 4:42Speaker 1: on you. But genuinely, when you grow up this team
- 4:46Speaker 1: dominates this area, You grew up loving him. What was
- 4:50Speaker 1: it like to be so intertwined with the organization you
- 4:54Speaker 1: love so much?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Well, the truth is, you know, when I was living
- 4:57Speaker 2: in mine out North Dakota, everybody was a Vikings fan.
- 5:01Speaker 2: They always pissed us off, and as a young kid,
- 5:05Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not going to root for the bikes.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'm going to be a Cowboys fan. So for a
- 5:09Speaker 2: good part of my life I was a Cowboys fan first,
- 5:11Speaker 2: Vikings fan second. And then I moved to California. This
- 5:14Speaker 2: is half my lifetime ago, probably twenty six years ago now,
- 5:17Speaker 2: And when I moved away, I started to realize how
- 5:21Speaker 2: much it's almost like when you got a younger brother
- 5:24Speaker 2: or sister and you beat up on them all the time,
- 5:25Speaker 2: but then when somebody else beats up on him, you
- 5:28Speaker 2: defend him.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It was like it was like, no, you know what,
- 5:31Speaker 2: I love that team. That is the team that I
- 5:33Speaker 2: really actually love. I just didn't want to admit it before.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And you know, twenty five twenty six years ago was
- 5:39Speaker 2: when I really really started being a hardcore fan.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And I always was.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I always followed him, but it wasn't until I moved
- 5:46Speaker 2: away from home that it was like my connection to home.
- 5:51Speaker 3: The Vikings were kind of my connection to home.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And you know, I've developed a great relationship with Brian
- 5:57Speaker 2: Harper and a lot of the guys over there at
- 6:00Speaker 2: the Vikings, and you know, they've been really they've been
- 6:04Speaker 2: really cool to me. You know, every time I come,
- 6:06Speaker 2: they they let me go down on the field for
- 6:08Speaker 2: a little bit. I got to I got to beat
- 6:11Speaker 2: the skull drawn last weekend or the opening weekend.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Does any part of you have them? So? I remember
- 6:16Speaker 1: the first time I got to get down on the field,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I had that moment in my brain where I was like,
- 6:21Speaker 1: these people have no clue what I'm capable of.
- 6:25Speaker 4: I've been like like they let me, Like I'm gonna
- 6:29Speaker 4: I might go talk to Brett Favv right now, I
- 6:32Speaker 4: shouldn't be on the field, Like was a part of
- 6:35Speaker 4: did any part of you have that psycho fan that
- 6:37Speaker 4: you're like, keep it together, Josh, keep it together.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Everybody's watching keep it together.
- 6:42Speaker 2: It's really hard for me not to go out into
- 6:44Speaker 2: the field and start throwing start throwing out routes. Yea,
- 6:48Speaker 2: I so badly want to go out there and start
- 6:50Speaker 2: chucking the ball around, but I just can't do it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Uh.
- 6:55Speaker 3: But yeah, it's Uh.
- 6:57Speaker 2: There's something about being on that football field, and it
- 7:00Speaker 2: also makes you realize once you are down there on
- 7:03Speaker 2: the field that you have no business playing with those guys.
- 7:07Speaker 3: They are just monsters.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It's wild playing at Minus State University. See that te
- 7:13Speaker 2: shirt back in the day I played quarterback there. I
- 7:16Speaker 2: thought those guys were monsters and they wouldn't even play.
- 7:19Speaker 2: They weren't even as big as the cornerbacks. Yeah, like
- 7:22Speaker 2: the free safeties in the NFL.
- 7:25Speaker 1: You're a big dude, you put together. I'm about six
- 7:27Speaker 1: or four. I remember one of the first times I
- 7:29Speaker 1: was down there. I was standing over by the tunnel
- 7:31Speaker 1: because you know the groups in pregame, the groups come
- 7:34Speaker 1: out by group. It's like, oh, here come the corners,
- 7:37Speaker 1: now here come the wide receivers together and I remember
- 7:39Speaker 1: these dudes coming out and I'm like, all right, all right,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I'm out. And then you see the offensive linemen coming out.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You're like, that's the biggest man I've ever seen in
- 7:48Speaker 1: my life.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and they've got a whole stable of them. And
- 7:53Speaker 2: then the d linemen come out and they're as big,
- 7:55Speaker 2: but just all muscle, yes, and.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Just want to literally kill you, you know.
- 8:01Speaker 2: And I that's why I have such mad respect for
- 8:03Speaker 2: these quarterbacks who can hang in there and just take
- 8:07Speaker 2: hit after hit, because it takes a lot of courage knowing.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I mean, it's not as bad as they're a lot
- 8:13Speaker 2: more protected now than they used to be.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, sure, and I think because of that they're a
- 8:17Speaker 3: little bit more bold.
- 8:19Speaker 2: But still, you know, guys, they're coming downhill at you
- 8:24Speaker 2: as hard as they can, and you know, it's a
- 8:26Speaker 2: pretty scary feeling.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I've said this a million times. I was on a
- 8:30Speaker 1: bike ride once and I got like drilled in the
- 8:33Speaker 1: face with a butterfly and it ruined. It ruined a
- 8:37Speaker 1: good couple days for me. I can't imagine one of
- 8:41Speaker 1: these men landing on my body. That's not I'm not
- 8:45Speaker 1: trying to sound weak, but.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Come on, did you have to go into concussion protocol?
- 8:49Speaker 1: I should have, I can tell you I should have.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I complained enough that everybody was like, if you don't
- 8:55Speaker 1: have a concussion. We need to get you into therapy
- 8:57Speaker 1: because this is not the way a grown man should Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 1: we were watching I had a bunch of buddies over
- 9:02Speaker 1: and we were watching the Monday night games. They had
- 9:04Speaker 1: the dual games last night, and Kenny Pickett had a
- 9:07Speaker 1: rough go and one of the guys there was a
- 9:10Speaker 1: Steelers fan, and the amount of words he was calling
- 9:14Speaker 1: Kenny Pickett while Pickett was under duress. I was like,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we all can have expectations for guys who you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: are hired to do a job. Like if your plumber
- 9:24Speaker 1: shows up, like and he's he looks like a plumber,
- 9:27Speaker 1: you expect him to plumb.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So I understand how people would feel that way about
- 9:32Speaker 1: Kenny Pickett, but he was going so hard. I was like, man, Scott,
- 9:35Speaker 1: if I like tripped you, it would end our friendship.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You gotta give this dude a break. They're so fast.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think I still think Kenny Pickett's gonna
- 9:44Speaker 2: be a good quarterback for them.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You know I do too.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It's tough.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It takes these guys a couple of years, you know,
- 9:49Speaker 2: even Zach Wilson in New York. It's like they New
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yorkers are so quick to just turn on these guys. Yes,
- 9:57Speaker 2: they threw them in there.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I think he was he should have been a senior
- 10:00Speaker 3: for his rookie year, and he just wasn't ready, you know,
- 10:05Speaker 3: and it just crushed his confidence. My hope for them
- 10:10Speaker 3: is that Rogers sticks around, does the right thing he's
- 10:13Speaker 3: done for the season most likely, and really mentors this
- 10:16Speaker 3: kid because I'd love to see him figure it out
- 10:19Speaker 3: in New York and prove all those haters wrong.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's the best thing about New York is their hate
- 10:25Speaker 1: because everyone So it's like when Porzingis faded off the map,
- 10:29Speaker 1: but when Porzingis came in and was a beast those
- 10:31Speaker 1: first six games and he had that like you doubted
- 10:34Speaker 1: me vibe, that was about as good as it gets. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you played quarterbacks, so here's as we're talking about quarterbacks.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I think the thing that's most fascinating to me is
- 10:46Speaker 1: the like is exactly what you're saying. It's not just
- 10:50Speaker 1: whether or not you can do it, it's the situation
- 10:53Speaker 1: you're placed in. Right. I don't think people the regular
- 10:55Speaker 1: fan you went through this like, they don't understand what
- 10:58Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator truly means. What the coaching staff, what
- 11:02Speaker 1: the like at the NFL level, the organizational support, like
- 11:06Speaker 1: all the factors that go into allowing someone a proper
- 11:11Speaker 1: learning curve at in high level athletics is wild, and
- 11:15Speaker 1: sometimes it really doesn't matter how good you are. I
- 11:20Speaker 1: think there are quarterbacks who flamed out of the league that,
- 11:23Speaker 1: had they flip flopped with another guy, might have had
- 11:27Speaker 1: a really successful career.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I think that so much of the success of a
- 11:33Speaker 2: quarterback depends on the coaching that they have around them,
- 11:37Speaker 2: the sort of organizational support, you know, and some teams
- 11:42Speaker 2: are really good at it.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Damn Packers seem to be really good at it.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I can't do it, man, I've said this on this
- 11:49Speaker 1: show before. They are the trust fund babies of the NFL.
- 11:54Speaker 1: They're fans, like, yeah, they are, like and if going
- 11:57Speaker 1: from far to Rogers was like watching a sixteen year
- 12:01Speaker 1: old crash a Ferrari and so his dad buys him
- 12:04Speaker 1: a Maserati. Yeah, if I have to watch Jordan Love
- 12:07Speaker 1: be a Hall of Famer for sixteen years and then
- 12:10Speaker 1: win one more, I can't do it, dude, I can't.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I have too many relatives in that state.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I was so sure he was gonna suck, and then
- 12:18Speaker 2: I saw him play. I was like, oh my god,
- 12:20Speaker 2: this kid is good. He's really good. Although they did
- 12:23Speaker 2: lose last week, so maybe and he did have a
- 12:25Speaker 2: chance to. You know, I don't know if he's got
- 12:27Speaker 2: what Rogers had, that last minute sort of comeback ability
- 12:31Speaker 2: because he could have done it and they weren't able to.
- 12:33Speaker 3: But he's got a lot of talent.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You've played, doesn't he have that thing? That what scares me?
- 12:38Speaker 1: And I can't quantify this. You quantify this for me
- 12:40Speaker 1: as an actual human who knows football. The way his
- 12:44Speaker 1: the way he floats and moves fluidly into his like
- 12:47Speaker 1: just his footwork and his ease in which he is
- 12:52Speaker 1: progressing and moving. I go, ah, damn it, that's actually
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm worried that That's a good thing.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a good thing.
- 12:58Speaker 2: It is a good thing because you know, and I've
- 13:01Speaker 2: been really hard on Cousins over the years, I really
- 13:04Speaker 2: root for the guy now after getting to know him
- 13:06Speaker 2: a little bit on the h I've never met met
- 13:08Speaker 2: him in person, but watching him on the Netflix show,
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm like, I can't help but they're root for the guy.
- 13:13Speaker 2: You know, if you're going to take those two players.
- 13:15Speaker 2: For example, like Kirk feels like he's really working. He's
- 13:18Speaker 2: putting a lot of effort into everything he does. Yes, Jordan,
- 13:21Speaker 2: it seems to come easy, like he just kind of
- 13:23Speaker 2: floats around the ball and just kind of flies off
- 13:25Speaker 2: his fingertips. Again, he's three games, two games in. It's
- 13:29Speaker 2: way too early to tell, but you know, it does
- 13:33Speaker 2: look as if he.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Might have a lot of ability, and I hope. Oh man,
- 13:39Speaker 3: I just can't. I have too many Packer fan friends.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't do it drive me nuts, and they
- 13:45Speaker 2: just don't deserve another good quarterback.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I'm sorry, but they just don't.
- 13:49Speaker 1: What I need is to be able to continue to
- 13:52Speaker 1: say the sentence that I have said for the last
- 13:55Speaker 1: twelve years or so, which is I understand that you
- 13:59Speaker 1: guys one football back when it was played with leather helmets,
- 14:04Speaker 1: but since the grownups came around in the two thousands.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I know you're you're giving us shit, but you have
- 14:11Speaker 1: won exactly as many titles as you've had been featured
- 14:15Speaker 1: on making the Murderer as a state, So like I
- 14:19Speaker 1: I don't like I want that to stay the same.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I want the amount of titles and the amount of
- 14:24Speaker 1: controversial Steve Avery convictions in Wisconsin to stay the same
- 14:29Speaker 1: for all of eternity. I think that's that's I have
- 14:32Speaker 1: a harsh I'm gonna I'm I'm gonna have a real
- 14:35Speaker 1: harsh stance on it. I can't imagine your career is
- 14:37Speaker 1: ever gonna go wrong. You've made a lot of great stuff.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But if it does, let me give you some advice.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Have somebody follow you around and make a documentary, because
- 14:44Speaker 1: holy shit, that's a good way to like somebody.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Oh man.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and he does seem like a really likable dude.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I do like his work ethic. Yeah, he's tough as nails.
- 14:53Speaker 2: He shows up every Sunday to play. You know, his
- 14:55Speaker 2: stats are great. I just need him to to have
- 14:59Speaker 2: whatever that is that some of these quarterbacks have that
- 15:02Speaker 2: you know, if there's two minutes left in the down seven,
- 15:05Speaker 2: there's a good chance they're gonna win the football game.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Last year, I thought he did a really good job.
- 15:09Speaker 2: For the first time ever, the Vikings were winning games
- 15:12Speaker 2: and in the end that normally we lose, and I
- 15:15Speaker 2: was like, God, that's that's maybe maybe this is the year.
- 15:19Speaker 2: But you know, then to see a sort of flame
- 15:21Speaker 2: out there at the end, just in others. You know,
- 15:24Speaker 2: they always find a new way to break your heart,
- 15:26Speaker 2: and they did it again last year. But maybe he
- 15:28Speaker 2: needed this, this sort of validation from the world that
- 15:33Speaker 2: that suddenly is rooting for him and he can get
- 15:35Speaker 2: that monkey off his back and sort of let go
- 15:37Speaker 2: and just play free. But you know, we're owned two.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'm hoping we can. We can turn it around quick.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It's not over. You can't go fifteen to two without
- 15:47Speaker 3: losing two games, you know what I mean.
- 15:49Speaker 1: That's a very that's you handle this. Here's what I'm
- 15:52Speaker 1: watching in your eyeballs, Josh. You you managed to do
- 15:56Speaker 1: what I'm not capable of. You walk through how you're feeling,
- 16:01Speaker 1: and then you summarize up you always you're like, but
- 16:04Speaker 1: you know you could always win every game from here
- 16:07Speaker 1: on out. What I do is I walk through my
- 16:11Speaker 1: feelings and then I spiral into nothingness.
- 16:15Speaker 3: You know, cup half full, man, I mean, it's it's.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Uh, it's enviable.
- 16:19Speaker 3: It is.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It is enviable. It's a little hateable with the sunshine
- 16:22Speaker 1: on your face, but it is enviable.
- 16:24Speaker 2: We know that we have a good football team, right absolutely.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I think I think we got a lot of talent.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm a little concerned we lost too many good players.
- 16:32Speaker 2: But I like the I like the upgrade at defensive coordinator.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I think that he's going to do a good job.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I do really like Kevin O'Connell. I like our GM.
- 16:42Speaker 2: You know, we got maybe the best wide receiving duo
- 16:45Speaker 2: in the league. Yes, but you know we got talent.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We got a lot of talent. It's just a matter
- 16:49Speaker 2: of now, we just got to put together some wins.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I will say it is a unique way to lose
- 16:55Speaker 1: two games.
- 16:56Speaker 3: You know.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It's to go and turn the ball all over that
- 17:01Speaker 1: many times. It's almost like who's ever in charge? If
- 17:04Speaker 1: there's a god that's in charge of football, he watched
- 17:07Speaker 1: last season, He's like, I'm gonna watch these guys this year.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I gotta pay attention to this that got out of
- 17:13Speaker 1: hand last year. So I'm hoping. I'm hoping that we're
- 17:16Speaker 1: paid down now, right, Yeah, we paid off our debt
- 17:19Speaker 1: for last season. Let us have a nice time against
- 17:22Speaker 1: the Chargers. Let us go out and have some smiles.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, I agree. You know you gotta get one.
- 17:28Speaker 2: You gotta get you And the nice thing is is
- 17:30Speaker 2: that everybody else in our division loss last week, Yes,
- 17:33Speaker 2: you know that at least we didn't lose any ground.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So we're still you know, we're still in the game.
- 17:38Speaker 2: We still have a legitimate team. We can't we can't
- 17:40Speaker 2: lose another one or two without stringing together a few wins.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Here though, I couldn't agree more. Let me let me
- 17:46Speaker 1: get you out of here, dude. Let me ask you
- 17:48Speaker 1: a couple questions that I think fans will love a
- 17:51Speaker 1: lot so Buddy Games. If you haven't seen the series,
- 17:55Speaker 1: go see the series, watch the movies, two of them
- 17:58Speaker 1: out now. If you had to like, which four vikings?
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm putting you on the spot. So I'm gonna dance
- 18:05Speaker 1: around the question and give you time. But which four
- 18:08Speaker 1: vikings do you feel like would be the best at
- 18:12Speaker 1: Buddy Games? Challenge slat like an episode? You know, because
- 18:16Speaker 1: part of that Buddy Games didn't just It isn't just
- 18:18Speaker 1: a physical ability. It's about a bond and a cohesion
- 18:22Speaker 1: and an ability to work together, right.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and and recognize each other's strengths weaknesses. It's it's mental.
- 18:29Speaker 2: It's it's assigning certain people certain jobs, like Philadelphia was
- 18:34Speaker 2: terrible at that this year.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you'll you'll find out if you watch this. It's
- 18:38Speaker 3: really funny. Man.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm like, why would you make Anthony swim you can't swim?
- 18:42Speaker 2: And why would Anthony were a sweatshirt when he's trying
- 18:44Speaker 2: to swim, you just have the swet. The Sweatster's not
- 18:47Speaker 2: gonna keep him warm in the water, you dummy. So anyway,
- 18:51Speaker 2: there's a good example of not of of of not
- 18:54Speaker 2: making good decisions within the team. Uh So who I
- 18:57Speaker 2: who would I pick? I think I'd go Kyle Okay.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I feel like he's a good teammate. Who would who
- 19:04Speaker 2: could do a lot of different things.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Love it.
- 19:06Speaker 3: You need a guy that when you need pure muscle
- 19:09Speaker 3: and pure grit. I'd go John Randall.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I love that we're going all time vikings because that's
- 19:14Speaker 1: going to open my answer up to a whole new world.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 1: John Randall's a NonStop motivation.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And he's trashing everybody else. That's a dude that makes
- 19:23Speaker 1: the most sense.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 2: And also that's part of the game too. You got
- 19:25Speaker 2: to be able to talk a lot of smack uh
- 19:28Speaker 2: and sabotage the other team. I want to say, feeling
- 19:31Speaker 2: for some reason, just because he's from near where my
- 19:35Speaker 2: cabin is in Minnesota.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll give a little bit of hometown tie.
- 19:38Speaker 2: And he's a good utility man and uh, you know
- 19:42Speaker 2: he'll surprise you with this. You think he's you think
- 19:45Speaker 2: he's one thing, but he's a lot more than that.
- 19:48Speaker 2: And then I'll go with let's go with uh Jefferson.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Why not?
- 19:53Speaker 1: It's hard not to pick Jefferson. Yeah, I'm going to
- 19:55Speaker 1: go a different direction with it here, Okay, And I
- 19:58Speaker 1: understand that I'm going to lose. I put this team together,
- 20:01Speaker 1: but I like just putting some odd people together and
- 20:04Speaker 1: see I go to the Philadelphia route. I just want
- 20:07Speaker 1: to see how you guys can handle a tense situation.
- 20:10Speaker 1: So I'm gonna pick Jerry Ball from the early days,
- 20:15Speaker 1: Big Jerry Ball, three hundred and eighty pounds, Jerry Ball.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I'm going that's a nineteen ninety eight poll right there.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Wassawa Orwanga because I think you
- 20:26Speaker 1: need the greatest name in Viking's history. I'm gonna put
- 20:28Speaker 1: him on there. I'm gonna go with TJ. Hockinson just
- 20:33Speaker 1: because I want that beautiful hair running through the course.
- 20:36Speaker 1: And then I think you need somebody who can keep
- 20:40Speaker 1: everybody on track, and either he can bring you up
- 20:44Speaker 1: to where you need to be or for not. At
- 20:46Speaker 1: least it's gonna be fun to watch him freak out.
- 20:48Speaker 1: So I'm gonna throw Mike Zimmer in there. I'm gonna
- 20:50Speaker 1: throw a Zim on top of those three men and
- 20:54Speaker 1: watch them try to navigate an episode. I don't think
- 20:56Speaker 1: it's gonna go well, Josh, but I think I'm tuning in.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Uh well, this would be My one critique is that
- 21:04Speaker 2: you do have to you do have to have some endurance.
- 21:06Speaker 2: There's a lot of like real there's a couple of
- 21:09Speaker 2: events where you are sucking wind.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, did I pick a couple of people who don't
- 21:14Speaker 1: have to throw?
- 21:14Speaker 3: Mister Ball and mister Zimmer might struggle.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I like being the underdog man, but you never know.
- 21:22Speaker 3: You know they're scrappy, man, You can never tell.
- 21:25Speaker 1: We might just surprise someone.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Really hard to predict.
- 21:28Speaker 1: People hate this. I put them on the spot. Let
- 21:30Speaker 1: me get a prediction for this week against the Chargers
- 21:32Speaker 1: of Score prediction.
- 21:33Speaker 3: This is what I think. I think we win. I
- 21:36Speaker 3: think we win soundly. I think we win like thirty
- 21:40Speaker 3: five to seventeen.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Oh, I love that. I'm gonna go Chargers thirteen Vikings
- 21:48Speaker 1: one hundred and forty eight. Josh, you're the king Man.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It means a ton that you took a few minutes
- 21:54Speaker 1: to do this.
- 21:55Speaker 3: You're you're a bigger You're a bigger homer than Pa Man.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You watch your mouth, You watch your damn mouth. I
- 22:02Speaker 1: that's that's I'm the I lie to myself in an
- 22:05Speaker 1: aggressive way, Mark king Man. We appreciate it. Thank you
- 22:09Speaker 1: so much for hanging out all right, I appreciate it.
