- 1:58Speaker 1: do you have a takeaway, Beatrice? Just be honest. I mean,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I feel like we can be honest in the dumpster.
- 2:05Speaker 1: If anything, we don't try to be overly positive. We can.
- 2:10Speaker 1: to tell the truth about how we're feeling.
- 2:12Speaker 2: About stuff well I'll try not to be super negative
- 2:15Speaker 2: right off the gate I'll just say that Ron's kind.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Of weird yeah He seems weird.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He seems like he's not really into Mary, but Mary's
- 2:24Speaker 2: like hoping for like a romantic connection.
- 2:26Speaker 1: She seems totally spun out for him. She's so sprung.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Like our relationship could turn romantic, you know, eventually in
- 2:32Speaker 2: the future, but we're just taking things slow.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Like dropping little sexual innuendos.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Ew, and he doesn't even get it.
- 2:38Speaker 1: He's ignoring her. I'm cringing so hard. My takeaway is
- 2:43Speaker 1: that I'm bored. I'm sorry, but I'm bored. I don't
- 2:47Speaker 1: want to say that. too loudly because I don't want
- 2:49Speaker 1: to offend anybody. And I know we're trying to do
- 2:53Speaker 1: this season because we want to see if this format
- 2:55Speaker 1: can work. And these women, of course, we're rooting for
- 2:59Speaker 1: them because they were married to that absolute narcissist, that
- 3:02Speaker 1: malignant narcissist, Cody Brown. And then of course had to
- 3:06Speaker 1: put up with Robin. And so we're rooting for them,
- 3:08Speaker 1: but this is so terribly boring. You would think, you
- 3:12Speaker 1: would think they would come back like with this huge
- 3:15Speaker 1: opportunity to And maybe shake it up a little bit.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Try something different. But it's the same format, the same photographs,
- 3:25Speaker 1: the same flashbacks, the same storylines. And I'm just like,
- 3:29Speaker 1: are we really going to go out this sad? I
- 3:32Speaker 1: hope not. Maybe they can turn it around. But I
- 3:35Speaker 1: feel like we're going out sad.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, these are the kinds of things that they have
- 3:39Speaker 2: on the show that we could just get from Instagram.
- 3:42Speaker 2: you know, like social media updates.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Like, that's great. You got an RV, Christine.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 3:48Speaker 3: That's great that you're dating Janelle.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Woo. I'm glad Mary's going inner tubing, but what.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Else is there?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Is there nothing else? Honestly?
- 3:57Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Have you ever like read a book and you're just
- 4:00Speaker 1: like in your bed reading the book and you've read
- 4:02Speaker 1: like five pages and you realize, I didn't retain any
- 4:04Speaker 1: of that.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yep.
- 4:06Speaker 1: That is exactly what I felt like. watching this episode,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I actually had to rewind a couple of times because
- 4:11Speaker 1: the conversation was so uninspiring. I was, I was nodding off.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I was nodding off. And that's just my takeaway. And
- 4:20Speaker 1: I hope it's something that can be turned around. And
- 4:22Speaker 1: I do want to acknowledge that having the women come
- 4:25Speaker 1: together and maybe forge a new direction is a great
- 4:29Speaker 1: way to close out the series.
- 4:31Speaker 3: For sure.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Ultimately, like good closure, some conversations, but I just, I
- 4:36Speaker 1: don't know what we're doing here.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I mean, for 45 minutes per episode, it's kind of boring.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Just a little bit. What do you guys think? If
- 4:45Speaker 1: you love it, that's fine. But like, that's just how
- 4:47Speaker 1: I'm feeling right now. And that's me take away. And
- 4:49Speaker 1: so without further ado, let's get into our recap of
- 4:52Speaker 1: Sister Wives season 21, episode two in Tatota.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Been there, done that. Indeed.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Have we ever.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So we start off where we left off last week
- 5:03Speaker 2: with the OG3 going through family photos and stuff like that.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And Christine opens this segment by saying something to the camera, like,
- 5:11Speaker 2: you know, I'm not here to hang out. I'm not
- 5:13Speaker 2: here to chit chat. I'm not here to be friends.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But then when we're there, she's immediately chit chatting. And
- 5:20Speaker 2: later she suggests doing a group RV trip and like
- 5:24Speaker 2: hanging out together and cooking recipes. So I don't know.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It's a little weird to me, the way that we
- 5:29Speaker 2: opened this up and we opened it up with Mary too, saying,
- 5:32Speaker 2: you know, she's got her walls up and she's guarded.
- 5:35Speaker 2: She doesn't know what to expect. And But then when
- 5:37Speaker 2: we're sitting down going through photos.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Like it's fine.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's not a big deal.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It's not a big deal. The one thing I kind
- 5:43Speaker 1: of took away from this scene was just how differently
- 5:47Speaker 1: all three women exist in themselves. Like Janelle is kind
- 5:51Speaker 1: of lost in the crowd. She's not as loud as
- 5:54Speaker 1: Christine or as bubbly as Christine. She's not as hard
- 5:58Speaker 1: as Mary and direct as Mary. She's just kind of
- 6:01Speaker 1: like trying to figure out where she fits in. All
- 6:04Speaker 1: of these women are so different. to each other. I
- 6:07Speaker 1: don't know how they would be friends going forward. It
- 6:10Speaker 1: actually felt a little uncomfortable to me. Like, I don't
- 6:14Speaker 1: know how I would feel if I had to sit
- 6:16Speaker 1: there with Mary in particular, but also Christine.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I'm Janelle.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm Janelle in this scene. I'm just like, oh, get.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Me out of here. Yeah. And like Christine's oddly really
- 6:24Speaker 2: sensitive too when we're going through some of the photos.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Like we show that you know, classic polygamist photo of
- 6:32Speaker 2: Mary Janelle and Christine. And Christine immediately points out that
- 6:36Speaker 2: it was like a hierarchy thing. And, you know, you
- 6:39Speaker 2: have Mary at the top and Christine at the bottom.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And she really didn't like that photo. It made her
- 6:44Speaker 2: feel a certain way. And Mary says, well, the reason
- 6:47Speaker 2: why you were at the bottom was because you were
- 6:49Speaker 2: heavy with child. So they had you sit down. It's
- 6:52Speaker 2: like not a big deal. I'm sorry that you feel
- 6:55Speaker 2: this way. And it's to your point of like how
- 6:58Speaker 2: differently they all act within themselves. It's like, yeah, Christine, it's,
- 7:02Speaker 2: it's just a photo and it's also part of your past.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I get why it would bring up some uncomfortable feelings
- 7:07Speaker 2: with her and stuff like that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Obviously she's not.
- 7:09Speaker 2: She's not fully healed like Mary Brown with hashtag worthy.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Allegedly.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Allegedly.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Janelle's just sitting there like, can we be done?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Like I want to go home.
- 7:20Speaker 1: This is clearly orchestrated by production. This is obviously something
- 7:25Speaker 1: that they were asked to do for the show. Otherwise,
- 7:27Speaker 1: I don't think these women would ever do anything like
- 7:29Speaker 1: this on their own.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I did think it was weird, though, that Christine said
- 7:32Speaker 2: she has no baby pictures of one of her daughters, Isabel. Like,
- 7:36Speaker 2: she has absolutely none.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Is that the one she called ugly in her book?
- 7:39Speaker 3: I think so.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Isabel? Yeah.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Isabel was an ugly baby.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And then McKelty was too much.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So, yeah, she didn't have any pictures of her ugly baby, Isabel.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I'm just like, yikes.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And Isabel is truly gorgeous.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Totally gorgeous.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:52Speaker 4: But I'm just like, man, Christine, what were you doing?
- 7:55Speaker 4: Were you high on opiates?
- 7:56Speaker 1: She was taking care of everybody's children.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I get it, but that's just weird.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Not just her own kids. Everybody else's, too.
- 8:02Speaker 3: That's just weird to me.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And Mary thought it was odd, too, because she's like,
- 8:06Speaker 2: I have a bunch of baby photos of your daughter.
- 8:08Speaker 3: But OK, we'll go through it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Well, Mary kind of comes in salty. She's like, well,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I mean, I only have a few years because the
- 8:13Speaker 1: entire family didn't want me to take photographs anymore. So
- 8:16Speaker 1: I guess I didn't take photographs anymore.
- 8:18Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, my God, calm down.
- 8:19Speaker 3: She is a bit aggressive at some moments.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It's not that serious.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Can't we just soften a little bit? Just a little bit.
- 8:25Speaker 3: That's totally what it is.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Like Christine is super sensitive and Mary just takes everything
- 8:29Speaker 2: way too seriously.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Like calm down.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Just be like Janelle.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Be in the background.
- 8:34Speaker 1: They can't.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Damn.
- 8:36Speaker 2: And then we show like a baby photo of all
- 8:38Speaker 2: of the kids in these like homemade outfits, which were
- 8:41Speaker 2: made from old curtains that they had in their Wyoming house.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And Christine's immediately criticizing it. And Mary, who I assume,
- 8:48Speaker 2: you know, helped making, helped made these outfits because she
- 8:52Speaker 2: made all of the kids' outfits is like, well, yeah, Christine,
- 8:55Speaker 2: they're made out of booty ass curtains. Like it's not
- 8:58Speaker 2: a big deal, but they have this cute little story
- 9:00Speaker 2: of how they had the kids do some kind of
- 9:02Speaker 2: sound of music performance.
- 9:04Speaker 4: And I thought that that was like a sweet little memory.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I grew up with all of my clothes, like handmade or,
- 9:09Speaker 2: you know, from secondhand thrift stores and stuff. So I
- 9:11Speaker 2: thought it was kind of cute. Um, And then we
- 9:18Speaker 2: got to talking about sharing recipes. And then we were
- 9:21Speaker 2: talking about sharing kitchens. And of course, we had to
- 9:24Speaker 2: show the flashback of Mary getting triggered about being called
- 9:29Speaker 2: abusive when she had.
- 9:31Speaker 4: To share kitchens with the other wives.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Because, oh my God, you guys just took it too seriously.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I didn't mean to be mean. I think using the
- 9:40Speaker 1: word abusive is really telling. And I know that Cody
- 9:44Speaker 1: used it, but. the other wives backed it up. I mean,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I would just love in these scenes and in these moments,
- 9:51Speaker 1: if Mary's in a talking head for her to actually
- 9:53Speaker 1: specifically own some of that. Like, yeah, there were a
- 9:57Speaker 1: few times I did X, Y, and Z, and I
- 9:59Speaker 1: can see how that would be perceived as being super
- 10:03Speaker 1: toxic and i'm actually really sorry for that we all
- 10:05Speaker 1: change obviously i'm in a different place but i get
- 10:07Speaker 1: why they feel that way and she did say but
- 10:09Speaker 1: she's so general when she admits that she was hard
- 10:12Speaker 1: to live with that's all she said or that it
- 10:14Speaker 1: was hard to be with her but like why though
- 10:18Speaker 1: Why was it hard to live with you? What are
- 10:19Speaker 1: the exact things that you did that caused offense to
- 10:23Speaker 1: someone else that you maybe want to make amends for?
- 10:26Speaker 1: And the gag is she doesn't want to make amends
- 10:30Speaker 1: for it because she doesn't actually care about Christine. She
- 10:32Speaker 1: doesn't actually care about Janelle. And I don't know if
- 10:34Speaker 1: she ever has.
- 10:36Speaker 2: And even when she brings up like, yeah, I don't
- 10:38Speaker 2: disagree that it was hard for me, you know, hard
- 10:41Speaker 2: to live with me in the house, but it was
- 10:43Speaker 2: hard for everybody.
- 10:44Speaker 4: And everybody else made it hard too.
- 10:45Speaker 1: She always does that.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Always. It's got to take some of the smoke off
- 10:48Speaker 3: of her.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She can't stand in her own... ish yeah i hate
- 10:52Speaker 1: that about mary.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It's really annoying and then christine made a comment i
- 10:55Speaker 2: don't know if people caught it but she's like i
- 10:57Speaker 2: will never ever be sharing a kitchen with you bitches
- 11:00Speaker 2: i mean with you ladies i did i was like
- 11:03Speaker 2: damn i wonder if janelle and mary heard that she
- 11:06Speaker 2: called them bitches which i thought was kind of funny
- 11:10Speaker 2: just a little bit and then we also had a
- 11:13Speaker 2: comment about cody and robin first we had you know
- 11:17Speaker 2: the obligatory cody was a good dad and And it
- 11:20Speaker 2: came from Janelle again, who said, you know, Cody often
- 11:25Speaker 2: would consider the kids his soulmates, like he was a
- 11:28Speaker 2: really good and present father. But then we don't really
- 11:31Speaker 2: talk about how he devolved from that. Right.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You don't take it far enough.
- 11:36Speaker 2: We're just going to talk about how he was a
- 11:37Speaker 2: good father when they were kids. And we've already talked
- 11:39Speaker 2: about that like a million times. And you can see
- 11:42Speaker 2: from the photos and stuff like that and from some
- 11:45Speaker 2: of the kids and how they talked about their childhood.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Like Cody did seem like he was a good dad,
- 11:49Speaker 2: but let's talk about how he isn't now and how
- 11:51Speaker 2: he doesn't talk to like literally any of them. Really?
- 11:53Speaker 1: And throughout the show, actually, like in earlier seasons when
- 11:58Speaker 1: they're having the family ceremony and he's yelling at all
- 12:00Speaker 1: the kids in the picture or how he targets Garrison
- 12:05Speaker 1: seemingly like, and he doesn't, actually take care of truly
- 12:08Speaker 1: when she's sick. Like there's a lot of things we
- 12:10Speaker 1: can see throughout the seasons that would show that Cody
- 12:13Speaker 1: actually was disconnected very early on as far as I'm concerned.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So I just, I just hate this line, especially from
- 12:20Speaker 1: Janelle who had a child, you know, who has passed
- 12:25Speaker 1: because of, I think there's a correlation directly to his
- 12:29Speaker 1: relationship to the man that you chose to stay with.
- 12:32Speaker 1: And this is what I mean, like you're not going
- 12:34Speaker 1: far enough. You can say Cody was a great dad
- 12:37Speaker 1: when they were little, but then something happened. Well, what happened?
- 12:39Speaker 1: How did it happen? Can we talk about these things?
- 12:43Speaker 1: And I'm just going to be doing this all season
- 12:44Speaker 1: because they just, they're so... They just tiptoe around the
- 12:49Speaker 1: actual issue. And it would be so great to tell
- 12:52Speaker 1: the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
- 12:55Speaker 1: and see those ratings go up. But these women aren't
- 12:57Speaker 1: going to do it.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And this is my problem with the trajectory of this season.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Because if Cody and Robin are not here, what is
- 13:03Speaker 2: really stopping you from saying these things? Like it doesn't
- 13:05Speaker 2: make sense to me. And then, you know, Christine brings up.
- 13:09Speaker 2: a quote unquote juicy bit. What do you guys think
- 13:11Speaker 2: about Cody and Robin no longer filming? And this would
- 13:14Speaker 2: have been a really good point here to have some
- 13:18Speaker 2: actual tea spilled.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And they were overly diplomatic.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So diplomatic.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I mean, Janelle says woohoo, which is great, I guess.
- 13:25Speaker 2: But then Mary's like.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I just didn't really think anything of it. I mean,
- 13:29Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised, but like, whatever, they're doing
- 13:31Speaker 2: their own thing. And then Christine's like, yeah, I really
- 13:34Speaker 2: think that it's their way of really moving on from
- 13:37Speaker 2: us and like the show. And like, you know, I
- 13:39Speaker 2: totally get it.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Really?
- 13:40Speaker 4: That's all we're going to say?
- 13:42Speaker 3: Seriously? That's all we're going to say?
- 13:44Speaker 1: That's why I think this show has to die. Because
- 13:47Speaker 1: if you guys aren't even willing to tell the truth
- 13:49Speaker 1: in these moments where it's just right in front of
- 13:52Speaker 1: you and where everyone in the audience is salivating for it,
- 13:55Speaker 1: then fuck y'all. Just put a fork in it. It's done.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And then we talk about the apology tour again. And,
- 14:02Speaker 2: you know, Mary says something like, I'm really glad that
- 14:05Speaker 2: Robin didn't come.
- 14:06Speaker 3: To Cody's apology tour.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Cause Christine's like, weren't you guys surprised that Robin didn't come? Because,
- 14:11Speaker 2: you know, I kind of thought that she should have.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And Janelle and Mary are like, no.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Fuck that hoe.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Janelle's like, I would not have showed up. Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I wouldn't have showed up at all. Mary does say
- 14:19Speaker 2: something that was kind of juicy where she says, you know,
- 14:22Speaker 2: if Robin would have showed up, she would have just
- 14:25Speaker 2: done her whole interpretation of Cody's words. And I don't
- 14:29Speaker 2: want to hear that. I don't want to deal with that.
- 14:31Speaker 3: So that like, that was okay. But again, can we
- 14:33Speaker 3: expand upon it?
- 14:35Speaker 4: No.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And it's not something that hasn't been said a few
- 14:38Speaker 1: times before. Exactly. Give us something new.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It is the tiptoeing around the actual truth. And it's like, really,
- 14:44Speaker 2: you guys would make so much money if you guys
- 14:47Speaker 2: were just actually salty birches. If you guys could actually- Do.
- 14:50Speaker 1: A Colin Gosselin and release an actual tell-all book, I assume.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's coming out tonight. Are you getting it? Did you
- 14:56Speaker 1: pre-order it?
- 14:56Speaker 3: No, I didn't yet.
- 14:57Speaker 1: In the Shadow of Eight by Colin Gosselin.
- 14:58Speaker 3: We got to react to that to Patreon.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I know that he was on Jay Shetty's podcast and-
- 15:03Speaker 1: from the clips that I have seen, he is going
- 15:05Speaker 1: in and I think he did an interview with good
- 15:07Speaker 1: morning America as well, where he is calling out Kate.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And that is what, that's the energy that this show needs.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Facts.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I just wanted to throw that in there.
- 15:17Speaker 2: No, that's exactly what we need for sister rides. I
- 15:19Speaker 2: don't understand why we're not doing that. And then Christine
- 15:22Speaker 2: also asks like the last question about, you know, what
- 15:26Speaker 2: would you guys have done with your rings? And Mary's like,
- 15:28Speaker 2: I'm just keeping it because it's worth something like money wise.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I have no, reason to keep it otherwise Janelle's like
- 15:35Speaker 2: I don't care Christine's like I don't know what to
- 15:38Speaker 2: do with my ring and then Christine asks you know
- 15:41Speaker 2: what do you think would have happened if Cody would
- 15:43Speaker 2: have admitted to all of us that he was in
- 15:45Speaker 2: love with Robin and that Robin was the love of
- 15:47Speaker 2: his life and I thought it was interesting that both
- 15:50Speaker 2: Janelle and Mary said they don't think Cody realized it
- 15:53Speaker 2: until way later whereas Christine thinks that he knew it
- 15:57Speaker 2: from the get-go once he got with Robin but again
- 16:01Speaker 2: Is that all we're going to get? No, except all
- 16:03Speaker 2: we're going to get.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Well, and just for conversation sake, my first husband's wedding ring,
- 16:10Speaker 1: the engagement ring and the gold band that he gave me,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I pawned.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Did you really?
- 16:15Speaker 1: I pawned for like $ 400 back in the nineties or
- 16:17Speaker 1: something like that. It was a cheap little ring or whatever.
- 16:21Speaker 1: We were young. My second husband's engagement ring and wedding
- 16:26Speaker 1: band i pawned did you really i totally pawned and
- 16:30Speaker 1: i went out and i bought a laptop i bought
- 16:32Speaker 1: something for my child i bought electronics i bought all
- 16:34Speaker 1: this stuff yeah give me the money i mean for
- 16:37Speaker 1: real me the money for real but mary when you
- 16:40Speaker 1: say it's worth something it ain't worth a lot honey
- 16:42Speaker 1: maybe 50 bucks.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I was gonna say i'm like it's cody brown we're
- 16:45Speaker 2: talking about like.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Right go get you the 50 bucks go to mcdonald's
- 16:48Speaker 1: have a nice meal and call it a day.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Maybe she thinks holding on to it will increase its
- 16:53Speaker 2: value somehow I mean, I guess she could sell it
- 16:56Speaker 2: and be like, this is Mary Brown's wedding ring to
- 16:58Speaker 2: Cody Brown. Maybe there's some value with her namesake. But
- 17:02Speaker 2: do it now before the show takes.
- 17:06Speaker 1: It is in the process of tanking, I dare say.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And then we shift gears and we have Mary and
- 17:12Speaker 2: Ron going inner tubing. And this is where she makes
- 17:15Speaker 2: that cringe ass sexual innuendo that Ron doesn't even get.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Does not acknowledge it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I think he heard it. But he did not acknowledge
- 17:26Speaker 1: it and did not want to acknowledge it.
- 17:28Speaker 2: And then Mary brings that up and is like, what?
- 17:30Speaker 2: You're not going to hear me or give me a reaction?
- 17:32Speaker 3: He's like, huh? What did you say?
- 17:34Speaker 1: And she's just laughing.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Oh my God. She laughs so hard.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It's uncomfortable. I'm sweating a little bit from the secondhand embarrassment.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Stop it right now.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Mary.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I mean, and Mary again is saying, you know, Their
- 17:49Speaker 2: relationship is just platonic right now, but it could be
- 17:52Speaker 2: romantic after another year or five when Ron is ready
- 17:56Speaker 2: for it or something. And then Ron says after their
- 17:59Speaker 2: inner tubing that it was kind of romantic. No, because
- 18:01Speaker 2: we had to hold hands and be close to each other.
- 18:04Speaker 2: And Mary's just like, sure.
- 18:07Speaker 3: And they're just awkward, dude.
- 18:08Speaker 1: They are.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Like, it's not entertaining to watch.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think Mary's awkward, actually. I think Mary is an
- 18:13Speaker 1: awkward person. When she was with the women, she was awkward.
- 18:17Speaker 1: she makes the vibe awkward. And when she's with Ron,
- 18:19Speaker 1: it's also awkward. I don't think he knows how to
- 18:21Speaker 1: take her. I think her energy steamrolls his. I think
- 18:24Speaker 1: he's very passive.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I think he's awkward too, but you're right. Mary
- 18:27Speaker 2: is kind of a try hard, like chill out girl.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It's too much.
- 18:31Speaker 3: It is too much.
- 18:32Speaker 2: And then Christine and David want to show off their
- 18:35Speaker 2: new RV and then have some conversation about how she
- 18:39Speaker 2: had to learn how to be a monogamous. Hmm.
- 18:44Speaker 3: The only thing that was kind.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Of interesting here was David saying, you know, when we
- 18:48Speaker 2: moved in together, you know, it was your house.
- 18:52Speaker 3: It wasn't our house.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And Christine says Cody actually said the same thing to
- 18:57Speaker 2: her when they were together. And she was devastated to
- 19:00Speaker 2: hear this from both men because she didn't realize that
- 19:03Speaker 2: she was being controlling. She just thought that she was
- 19:07Speaker 2: getting shit done because things needed to get done.
- 19:10Speaker 3: And I thought that was kind of like.
- 19:11Speaker 2: An interesting insight to who Christine is. Because I don't
- 19:14Speaker 2: think she comes off as controlling in the same way
- 19:18Speaker 2: as like Mary does or as aggressive in that control.
- 19:22Speaker 2: But I do think, you know, she's Mary, so she
- 19:24Speaker 2: is just kind of taking over everything and doing what
- 19:27Speaker 2: she wants to do. She does say like when her
- 19:30Speaker 2: and David moved in, she didn't really ask him what
- 19:32Speaker 2: he wanted.
- 19:33Speaker 3: She just provided him with choices.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Kind of goes back to how she was with Cody.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I'm sure she had to do the same thing because
- 19:40Speaker 2: everything was decided by committee anyway.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Well, I mean, the women did have their own spaces.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So Christine was created to kind of appreciate her home
- 19:50Speaker 1: life in that way. Like she was the one who
- 19:52Speaker 1: made the final decision. But it is interesting that Cody
- 19:55Speaker 1: had the same critique of her. And it is definitely
- 20:00Speaker 1: something to pay attention to because right after she says like, yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I didn't include him in the choices. I gave him
- 20:06Speaker 1: the choices. And then she says immediately thereafter, I don't
- 20:09Speaker 1: know why, though, he feels like this isn't his home.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm like, well, you just said the thing. That is
- 20:15Speaker 1: the reason that he doesn't feel like he's participating in
- 20:18Speaker 1: the building of your home, Christine.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I noticed that, too. I thought that was really interesting.
- 20:22Speaker 2: And I just wonder if that's going to cause friction
- 20:24Speaker 2: between them in the long run, because we all know
- 20:27Speaker 2: they kind of rushed into their relationship to begin with,
- 20:30Speaker 2: so they didn't get to really learn these quirks. or
- 20:34Speaker 2: get rid of them before actually getting married and moving
- 20:37Speaker 2: in together. So now David's just going to have to
- 20:40Speaker 2: deal with it. And David, let me remind y'all, is
- 20:42Speaker 2: a Capricorn. So he's going to be stubborn and butt
- 20:45Speaker 2: heads against Ares the Ram over here.
- 20:48Speaker 3: So it'll be interesting.
- 20:49Speaker 1: There's something about Christine. I just feel like she is
- 20:53Speaker 1: always masking, like always masking and performing joy and frivolity
- 20:59Speaker 1: and playfulness. but there is an undercurrent that is, that's
- 21:03Speaker 1: very dark to me and even depressive sometimes.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Like I can just see her feeling those things, especially,
- 21:11Speaker 1: you know, in the relationship she was in with Cody
- 21:14Speaker 1: and the basement wife and all the things she had
- 21:16Speaker 1: to endure. Like there was just this huge part of
- 21:18Speaker 1: her that she had to tamp down that was suffering
- 21:21Speaker 1: for so long that I think is asking to be
- 21:25Speaker 1: witnessed and it's asking to come forth and it's maybe
- 21:27Speaker 1: showing itself through controlling behaviors or needing her environment to
- 21:32Speaker 1: be just so and not really allowing space for David.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But she is going to have to work on that
- 21:36Speaker 1: because David is not Cody. And this is not the
- 21:39Speaker 1: house that she had with Cody. David's a different guy.
- 21:42Speaker 1: He ain't gonna put up with it.
- 21:43Speaker 2: And I had said in a video a couple weeks ago, like,
- 21:46Speaker 2: you know, I thought David and Christine were manufacturing their
- 21:49Speaker 2: marital issues. But now I'm kind of like, maybe they aren't.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Maybe they actually do have some issues. It'll be kind
- 21:55Speaker 2: of interesting to see what their therapy sessions are going
- 21:57Speaker 2: to be like. I hope it's kind of like couples therapy.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It's not going to be.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I know it's not going to be with Dr. Orna,
- 22:03Speaker 2: but like, I hope that the real issues do kind
- 22:05Speaker 2: of come out.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 3: But we'll see.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And then we have Mary and Ron going out to
- 22:09Speaker 2: eat dinner and have this like weird, awkward platonic date
- 22:14Speaker 2: where they talk about dating other people, other people, not
- 22:18Speaker 2: each other. But I kind of think that Ron's talking
- 22:21Speaker 2: about Mary here because Mary's Ron says, you know, he's
- 22:25Speaker 2: felt a lot of pressure to move really fast from
- 22:28Speaker 2: other people that he's been dating. And, you know, since
- 22:31Speaker 2: his divorce, he's developed some avoidant tendencies that have made
- 22:36Speaker 2: him kind of pulled back emotionally. And I'm kind of
- 22:39Speaker 2: wondering if he's talking about Mary because they hang out
- 22:43Speaker 2: a lot. And Mary's saying to the camera a lot
- 22:46Speaker 2: that she hopes maybe one day their relationship will turn
- 22:50Speaker 2: romantic when it's ready. Yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And I'm just like, are you the one that's putting pressure?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Also saying that she appreciates that he goes slow, that
- 22:58Speaker 1: he's laid back. And Mary says like, I'm laid back too.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, are you high right now? You were
- 23:03Speaker 1: not laid back at all.
- 23:04Speaker 3: That made me laugh.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And then she says, well, maybe I'm high strung sometimes.
- 23:08Speaker 3: But I am easygoing just like Ron.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I don't think you're easygoing at all. What kills me, though,
- 23:13Speaker 1: with guys, and especially it's so disheartening to see a
- 23:16Speaker 1: guy as old as fucking Ron, dude, who's like going
- 23:20Speaker 1: to a speed dating event. We're going to date a
- 23:23Speaker 1: bunch of people quickly to make these connections. So you're
- 23:26Speaker 1: going to a speed dating event, but you want to
- 23:29Speaker 1: take everything really slow. You want to get these women
- 23:33Speaker 1: on the hook so that they're interested in you, but
- 23:35Speaker 1: then you want to take your time and see them
- 23:37Speaker 1: at your leisure. Like, I hate guys like that. Mary
- 23:41Speaker 1: needs to dump him. And furthermore, I think he's gay.
- 23:43Speaker 3: And furthermore, I think she's gay.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And furthermore, I think that's what they talk about when
- 23:47Speaker 1: they go out.
- 23:47Speaker 3: They talk about their interests.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Probably.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Maybe this is like a lavender friendship.
- 23:51Speaker 1: LGBTQ community they talk about.
- 23:53Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Although Ron said he didn't want a divorce from his
- 23:56Speaker 2: last wife, so who knows?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Well, he's so fucking passive, I bet. I mean, probably.
- 24:02Speaker 4: And he's probably LDS Mormon, right? Have we established that?
- 24:05Speaker 1: I forget. I don't believe we have, but I would
- 24:08Speaker 1: imagine that he is. I'm assuming. But they're just weird, dude.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Like it's not interesting to me.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It's not like me hanging out with my husband.
- 24:15Speaker 3: For real.
- 24:16Speaker 1: The vibe is very stilted. It's very wooden. It's very uncertain.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I think it's Mary. But Mary, you're finding this is
- 24:24Speaker 1: how the universe works. Nobody listens to me. If you
- 24:27Speaker 1: don't learn the lesson the first time, the universe keeps
- 24:30Speaker 1: presenting you with the same lesson and it gets louder
- 24:33Speaker 1: and more obnoxious every time until you learn the lesson.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And so Mary, you spent, I don't know, how many
- 24:38Speaker 1: years with Cody Brown? not listening to the thing he
- 24:41Speaker 1: said to you directly, which is that we are never,
- 24:43Speaker 1: ever getting back together again. And yet you still believed
- 24:46Speaker 1: and you still fought for it. And now you're away
- 24:49Speaker 1: from Cody and we all applaud you, but now you've
- 24:51Speaker 1: got this milquetoast, potentially gay man, Ron, that you're pursuing
- 24:58Speaker 1: and that you've got the goo-goo eyes for. And he's
- 25:00Speaker 1: telling you, I want to take it slow. I am avoidant.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I feel pressure from women. I don't like it. Maya
- 25:07Speaker 1: Angelou said, if somebody shows you who they are, believe
- 25:09Speaker 1: them the first time. This guy is showing you and
- 25:11Speaker 1: all of us in the dumpster that he ain't into you, honey.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Move on.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I think she really likes him because she said he's tall,
- 25:18Speaker 2: he's handsome, and he's a business owner specifically. She's a Capricorn,
- 25:22Speaker 2: so she's looking for him. Securing the bag.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Yes. Money, money.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And her future because Cody was a broke down loser. Right. So,
- 25:29Speaker 2: I mean, I can see why she has an interest
- 25:31Speaker 2: in him.
- 25:32Speaker 1: He's a broken man.
- 25:33Speaker 3: But he's like, and he's also just weird.
- 25:36Speaker 1: He's a little odd. He's an odd duck and he's
- 25:37Speaker 1: a broken man. His first wife killed him.
- 25:40Speaker 2: For real?
- 25:41Speaker 1: He's not healed yet. For real? you're not healed either.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Well that's what killed me about her comment of like
- 25:48Speaker 2: you know i'm totally easygoing too i'm like girl you're
- 25:51Speaker 2: not even self-aware if you can't even acknowledge that you're crazy.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Do you not remember yelling at him while he was
- 25:58Speaker 1: trying to make scrambled eggs at your charity event like
- 26:01Speaker 1: you are not easygoing at all there's so much work
- 26:03Speaker 1: that you have to do in yourself mary but like
- 26:05Speaker 1: there are these moments of clarity and throughout this episode
- 26:08Speaker 1: where she acknowledges i still have work to do yeah
- 26:11Speaker 1: like if we end in the preview if we can't
- 26:13Speaker 1: get this shit together to cook on zoom like we've
- 26:16Speaker 1: got we've got work to do and some healing to
- 26:19Speaker 1: get through um so she acknowledges a part of it
- 26:21Speaker 1: but i honestly think she doesn't see herself accurately because
- 26:24Speaker 1: she's not willing to own the shit that she's done.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Not at all and then the last bit of this
- 26:29Speaker 2: episode is janelle meeting with a matchmaker okay why is
- 26:33Speaker 2: her will why though Because TLC wants her to. She
- 26:37Speaker 2: doesn't even want to do this.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And you can tell.
- 26:39Speaker 2: You can so tell.
- 26:40Speaker 1: She limps in there. I don't know what's going on
- 26:43Speaker 1: with her gait. I worry about Janelle. I don't mean
- 26:45Speaker 1: to be flippant, but I'm like, something's going on, honey.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Are you okay? But she walks in there and she's frowning.
- 26:55Speaker 1: She does not look like she wants to be there.
- 26:57Speaker 1: You can tell that she is just sick of this shit.
- 27:01Speaker 1: And she sits down with this beautiful woman who proceeds
- 27:04Speaker 1: to encourage her. But like Janelle is checked out.
- 27:07Speaker 2: And she's like asking her these typical questions that you
- 27:10Speaker 2: would expect to be asked from a matchmaker. Like, what's
- 27:13Speaker 2: your dream guy? And Janelle's like, I don't know.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't know. I don't want him.
- 27:18Speaker 4: What do you want for your future? I don't know.
- 27:21Speaker 3: The opposite of what I had.
- 27:22Speaker 2: And then we get into a conversation a little bit
- 27:25Speaker 2: about her marriage to Cody, which I did think there
- 27:28Speaker 2: was some interesting comments here.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Where she does talk about.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Her marriage to Cody was good for a while, but
- 27:34Speaker 2: then it became what she says, an attrition thing. And
- 27:38Speaker 2: I thought that was kind of interesting, like between the
- 27:40Speaker 2: both of them, they were just like waiting for the
- 27:42Speaker 2: other to kind of.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Pull the plug.
- 27:45Speaker 2: She does acknowledge what we've all been saying for several
- 27:48Speaker 2: years now, that the straw that broke the camel's back
- 27:50Speaker 2: was the way that Cody treated her kids. And she
- 27:54Speaker 2: was over that. And so that was part of the
- 27:56Speaker 2: reason why she decided to leave. And then Janelle also
- 27:59Speaker 2: says that her relationship with Cody was a lot of
- 28:02Speaker 2: work for her. So she wants a relationship that isn't
- 28:04Speaker 2: a lot of work. And I'm also like, newsflash, relationships
- 28:08Speaker 2: are work.
- 28:08Speaker 1: They're going to all be work. But like a lot of,
- 28:11Speaker 1: but I can, I can. I can dig that because
- 28:13Speaker 1: I've been in a couple of relationships, you know, marriages
- 28:16Speaker 1: before this one, and there is just a sense of easiness.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Like life comes at you. You got to deal with shit.
- 28:22Speaker 1: That's always going to happen and it's going to cause
- 28:24Speaker 1: friction sometimes, but there is a quality of connection that
- 28:27Speaker 1: you have with your person that makes it easier to
- 28:30Speaker 1: go through life together than with anybody else. And so
- 28:33Speaker 1: I think that's what she means.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I think so too.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah. And she also does dig at Cody a little
- 28:38Speaker 2: bit about how Cody was really focused on his looks
- 28:42Speaker 2: and his appearance, his outward appearance, specifically with the things
- 28:45Speaker 2: that he owned and his stupid Lexus cars and his
- 28:49Speaker 2: jewelry and his fuck ass hair. And she's like, I
- 28:51Speaker 2: just don't want to deal with another man who's as
- 28:54Speaker 2: obsessed with being a pretty boy as Cody. So I
- 28:57Speaker 2: kind of liked that a little bit, but we don't
- 28:59Speaker 2: really go anywhere with this matchmaker. It's not like, She's
- 29:03Speaker 2: getting set up with dates at the end of this.
- 29:05Speaker 1: What was the point of this meeting?
- 29:07Speaker 3: I literally don't know.
- 29:09Speaker 2: And I'm like also wondering, are you dating Pete at
- 29:12Speaker 2: this period in time or talking to him at the
- 29:14Speaker 2: very least? And to that point of, you know, Janelle
- 29:17Speaker 2: doesn't want a relationship that's a lot of work. Maybe
- 29:19Speaker 2: this long distance thing with Pete is probably just what
- 29:22Speaker 2: she needs because she gets to have her independence and stuff.
- 29:26Speaker 2: She also does confirm in this episode that she does
- 29:30Speaker 2: not want to give up her house. She's not going
- 29:32Speaker 2: to be moving away.
- 29:33Speaker 3: From her house.
- 29:33Speaker 1: That made me feel good in my heart.
- 29:35Speaker 3: And I did like that.
- 29:36Speaker 2: She even says something like, he's going to have to
- 29:38Speaker 2: get his own place. Yeah. Like she doesn't even want
- 29:41Speaker 2: the guy to move into his house, which is kind
- 29:43Speaker 2: of funny because right before we recorded, right before we recorded,
- 29:47Speaker 2: Dee was saying something like.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Well, let me tell you why though. So my husband
- 29:52Speaker 1: comes home from Boston on Friday night. And so of
- 29:54Speaker 1: course I cleaned the whole house. I've got a little
- 29:57Speaker 1: charcuterie up charcuterie board ready for him. I got his
- 30:01Speaker 1: whiskey that he likes. I mean, I got it set
- 30:03Speaker 1: up for Papa and everything. He comes in. It's a
- 30:05Speaker 1: great night and all that. You know what I mean?
- 30:08Speaker 1: But what is it?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Monday?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah. And my house was trash today. Trash today. With
- 30:15Speaker 1: all this bullshit. All of his bullshit, dude. I mean,
- 30:17Speaker 1: he's got so much.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Man stuff it's so funny to me every time i
- 30:21Speaker 2: come over he's got everything spread out in the kitchen or.
- 30:25Speaker 1: In the yard or in the yard it's just throughout
- 30:28Speaker 1: my i mean he does build fences he installs he
- 30:31Speaker 1: doesn't he makes salsa.
- 30:33Speaker 2: He makes food press but he's just so anyway so
- 30:36Speaker 2: today it was trash So I cleaned up my whole
- 30:39Speaker 2: fucking house and you know what that means, right?
- 30:41Speaker 1: And so I'm dusting, I'm vacuuming, I'm bleaching, I'm dishes,
- 30:45Speaker 1: I'm doing everything, I'm mopping. And then I'm getting out
- 30:48Speaker 1: the steam cleaner that I do after the mop. So
- 30:50Speaker 1: then I, I test the floor with the rag and
- 30:53Speaker 1: there's no dirt on it because that's how I like it.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 1: And then I start to get ready for the podcast
- 30:59Speaker 1: tonight and I walk outside in the kitchen and there's
- 31:02Speaker 1: my big Frankenstein husband with all his fucking preps and
- 31:06Speaker 1: his Mylar bags and all the red lentils that you
- 31:08Speaker 1: could shake a stick at.
- 31:09Speaker 3: And oats and everything.
- 31:11Speaker 1: And they're falling all over my fucking floor. And I'm like,
- 31:13Speaker 1: are you?
- 31:15Speaker 2: And she literally says to me, she's like, maybe the
- 31:18Speaker 2: solution is that we just have separate houses.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I mean, it sounds pretty good. I mean, we have
- 31:23Speaker 1: talked about separate bedrooms. Not that I don't want to
- 31:25Speaker 1: sleep with my husband. He's a sexy, handsome man, but
- 31:27Speaker 1: like he snores. Yeah. He snores. And I like to sleep.
- 31:31Speaker 1: So I thought, what would life be like if we
- 31:33Speaker 1: had our own little snuggly bedrooms, which we don't have.
- 31:36Speaker 1: But I am expanding my horizons. What if we just
- 31:41Speaker 1: bought some property and he had a tiny little fucking house?
- 31:44Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, yeah.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Like Maddie and Janelle. He could be the Janelle, I
- 31:47Speaker 1: could be the Maddie with my house just the way
- 31:49Speaker 1: I like it. Yep. Furthermore, we had such a huge
- 31:53Speaker 1: fight like two weeks ago. Oh my God. Over teaspoons.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Over teaspoons? Teaspoons. Because- I don't have, I have like
- 32:01Speaker 1: three teaspoons and I need my teaspoons. I use them
- 32:04Speaker 1: to measure out for my fucking macros, girl. I've always
- 32:07Speaker 1: got hunger rage. I'm using my teaspoons and my tablespoons
- 32:10Speaker 1: for my macros. I use it for my baking. I
- 32:12Speaker 1: have only three though. Okay. And here comes my Frankenstein husband.
- 32:16Speaker 1: He's like, I'm going to make a protein shake. So
- 32:18Speaker 1: he takes my tablespoons and my teaspoons and he does
- 32:21Speaker 1: his powders and his cacao and all that. And I
- 32:23Speaker 1: never see my teaspoons again. And I'm a Taurus. And
- 32:26Speaker 1: that just means I like my space. I organize my kitchen.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I know where my shit is. It's meaningful to me.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I want to know that my tablespoons are there, right?
- 32:35Speaker 1: And my teaspoons. So I go to make my fucking
- 32:38Speaker 1: tea in the morning, for which I need my tablespoon
- 32:40Speaker 1: and my teaspoon.
- 32:42Speaker 3: And where are they?
- 32:43Speaker 1: They're not there. And I know it's not me. Do
- 32:46Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 32:46Speaker 3: Well, duh.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Because the first thing he says, he does a Darbo thing.
- 32:50Speaker 1: He's like, well, it wasn't me. Of course I didn't take...
- 32:52Speaker 1: Why would I take a teaspoon? I'm like, I know...
- 32:55Speaker 1: as much as I know my own name, that it
- 32:57Speaker 1: wasn't me because I put it back every time because
- 32:59Speaker 1: I value knowing where that shit is. And he's like,
- 33:02Speaker 1: it wasn't me. So we had a girl. We had a,
- 33:06Speaker 1: my reaction was disproportionate to the offense. I was just
- 33:10Speaker 1: so sick of his fucking shit. And then the next
- 33:13Speaker 1: day I'm looking in, I'm looking in the cacao bag
- 33:16Speaker 1: and there's a tablespoon. And then the next day I
- 33:18Speaker 1: go outside where he fucking makes his salsa and he,
- 33:20Speaker 1: he grills up all of his fucking tomatillos. And there's
- 33:23Speaker 1: my other teaspoon. And I'm just like, i could just
- 33:27Speaker 1: get another house and it would be great and we
- 33:28Speaker 1: could date sure walk down the path and come see
- 33:33Speaker 1: me at night every once in a while do you
- 33:34Speaker 1: know what i mean and then go home go home i.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Did see an episode of like a tiny house um
- 33:42Speaker 2: thing on hgtv and it was like a married couple
- 33:45Speaker 2: and they had their little tiny homes and they had
- 33:47Speaker 2: separate tiny homes but they were connected by like some
- 33:49Speaker 2: little bridge or whatever i love And it was because
- 33:51Speaker 2: they both had their own distinct styles. Like the wife
- 33:55Speaker 2: was like more bohemian and like.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 33:58Speaker 2: And she had like all of her little knickknacks or whatever.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And she's like, I like my decorations the way I
- 34:02Speaker 2: like them. But her husband was like this ultra like
- 34:04Speaker 2: modern caveman, you know, has all the wood paneling in
- 34:07Speaker 2: his little tiny home and they didn't want to compromise.
- 34:10Speaker 2: And I thought it was like kind of cute that
- 34:11Speaker 2: they had their own little spaces and stuff.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I love that.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I think it's great.
- 34:16Speaker 3: I feel like that'd be perfect.
- 34:17Speaker 1: It would be perfect for me. But like, talk to
- 34:18Speaker 1: me about like, there's two people living in this three bedroom,
- 34:22Speaker 1: two bedroom house.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:24Speaker 1: But it is stuffed to the fucking rafters with shit.
- 34:27Speaker 2: And then at our house, we have a two-car garage
- 34:29Speaker 2: that's full.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Of his other stuff. Literally full to the brim.
- 34:35Speaker 1: The first time I ever went over to his house
- 34:37Speaker 1: when we were dating, I called him a hoarder. And
- 34:40Speaker 1: it wasn't dirty and it wasn't like a hoarder house.
- 34:42Speaker 1: He gets triggered by that. Like all of his nails
- 34:44Speaker 1: and all of his screws and all of his wing
- 34:46Speaker 1: nuts and stuff. I'm just like, why does this need
- 34:49Speaker 1: to be in a bedroom?
- 34:49Speaker 2: And his answer to that though, because I've called him
- 34:53Speaker 2: a hoarder too.
- 34:54Speaker 3: He's like, no, I'm not a hoarder. All of my
- 34:56Speaker 3: stuff is useful.
- 34:57Speaker 1: That's what they all say on hoarders. They're fucking pitching
- 35:01Speaker 1: their fits in the backyard when people are trying to
- 35:03Speaker 1: throw shit away. listen he's not a hoarder it's not
- 35:05Speaker 1: trash it's all it's all actually valuable stuff yeah like
- 35:08Speaker 1: the amount of i mean i won't go into it
- 35:10Speaker 1: because then i'll be a target and somebody's gonna dox me.
- 35:12Speaker 3: No but he's got a lot of good stuff.
- 35:13Speaker 1: But i'm just saying can we now he wants to
- 35:16Speaker 1: get a shipping container so he can put all his
- 35:18Speaker 1: shit in a shipping container when he already has your
- 35:20Speaker 1: two-car garage and he can put shit in.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Wasn't he saying the shipping container was for us to
- 35:23Speaker 2: live on that he never gonna put.
- 35:26Speaker 1: You in there that's for his shit Anyway, so I
- 35:29Speaker 1: got to clean my house again. What were we talking about?
- 35:31Speaker 2: Janelle.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Janelle wanting a separate house from her man.
- 35:33Speaker 1: She does not want a man in her house. And
- 35:36Speaker 1: I get it.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I love that.
- 35:37Speaker 4: I love that.
- 35:38Speaker 2: And I was actually very reassured to hear that she
- 35:40Speaker 2: doesn't want to move away from her house that she
- 35:42Speaker 2: literally just built on Maddie's property because that would be
- 35:45Speaker 2: the dumbest fucking decision ever known to mankind. Like, move
- 35:48Speaker 2: that man out to North Carolina, Janelle.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Please.
- 35:51Speaker 2: I mean, if the dick is that good, he can
- 35:53Speaker 2: come to North Carolina. and then we get to the
- 36:00Speaker 2: preview where we have christine and david teaching truly how
- 36:03Speaker 2: to drive why do we need to see that i.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Don't know but i did like to see truly i
- 36:09Speaker 1: liked to see her face because i want to see
- 36:11Speaker 1: some kids yeah i don't want it just to be
- 36:14Speaker 1: about these three old heads i want to see some
- 36:16Speaker 1: of the little ones and how are they doing are
- 36:18Speaker 1: they in therapy.
- 36:20Speaker 2: It seems like david's gonna get annoyed at truly for
- 36:22Speaker 2: driving and that's gonna trigger me man okay that's gonna
- 36:24Speaker 2: trigger me And then we have Mary hosting a birthday
- 36:27Speaker 2: party for her fuck-ass friends like we don't care.
- 36:29Speaker 3: And she says her.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Future man better be celebrating her.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Better be celebrating her.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:37Speaker 2: And then Christine, Mary, and Janelle, instead of sharing kitchen
- 36:41Speaker 2: together and sharing recipes because they can't be arsed to
- 36:43Speaker 2: do that, they're going to host a Zoom call where
- 36:46Speaker 2: they cook in their own separate kitchens.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Pathetic.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Really? And share recipes that way. I'm just like, after
- 36:52Speaker 4: 30 years together?
- 36:54Speaker 2: That's wild to me. And Mary does make the comment,
- 36:57Speaker 2: like you mentioned earlier, that if they are uncomfortable with
- 37:00Speaker 2: a Zoom call, then they got a lot of work
- 37:02Speaker 2: to do. And newsflash, they're probably going to be just
- 37:05Speaker 2: fine on a Zoom call.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but is this what it's going to be?
- 37:09Speaker 3: Is this what we're watching.
- 37:11Speaker 1: For this season? Are we going to be working out
- 37:14Speaker 1: and reconciling relationships on fucking Zoom?
- 37:18Speaker 3: Yeah, with buffering and everything.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I'm just.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I am perplexed. I am uncertain as to what we
- 37:27Speaker 1: are going to be doing this season of the show.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I mean, nobody, literally no one wants to watch a
- 37:36Speaker 1: show about y'all cooking and gardening. Although somebody, I guess,
- 37:41Speaker 1: called on SpeakPipe and said they're really excited about it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: And so I hate to shit on shows that people
- 37:45Speaker 1: are totally loving. I'm sorry, guys, because I am. taking
- 37:49Speaker 1: a big fucking dump on this show this show like
- 37:52Speaker 1: i don't get it i don't know what we're doing
- 37:54Speaker 1: i don't know where we're going um it's not sustainable
- 37:58Speaker 1: how about that i'll end and close with this is
- 38:01Speaker 1: not sustainable nobody's going to keep watching we will because
- 38:04Speaker 1: we have a mental illness in the dumpster and it's
- 38:06Speaker 1: our job but like most people don't they're watching traitors
- 38:09Speaker 1: honey they're watching love island they're watching the real housewives
- 38:12Speaker 1: of somewhere.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Else Well, and my point still stands that this is
- 38:16Speaker 2: Sister Wives. It's not, you know, ex-Sister Wives. It's not
- 38:20Speaker 2: the Mary, Christine, and Janelle show. Like, we need some
- 38:23Speaker 2: content talking about Cody and Robin. Like, we need some tea.
- 38:28Speaker 2: We need some updates on the kids' lives and what
- 38:31Speaker 2: they think about Cody and Robin and what their relationships
- 38:34Speaker 2: are like with Cody and Robin. Like, that makes for
- 38:37Speaker 2: compelling and interesting television. But watching a three-way Zoom call...
- 38:43Speaker 2: where you guys are cooking like dumplings and stuff and
- 38:47Speaker 2: sharing the recipe with each other. And I hope with us,
- 38:50Speaker 2: if you're going to be doing this, like, I hope
- 38:52Speaker 2: you're going to be sharing the recipes on TV, but
- 38:54Speaker 2: if you're going to like gatekeep these because they're your
- 38:57Speaker 2: secret Mormon family recipes, then I'm just like, I don't.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Know what we're doing here.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I don't, I don't either, but I mean, we're hanging
- 39:04Speaker 1: on for dear life in the dumpster, hoping that, you know,
- 39:07Speaker 1: something interesting happens. Tell us what you guys think. I'm
- 39:10Speaker 1: so curious.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:12Speaker 1: How are you guys enjoying this? I think we said
- 39:14Speaker 1: last week that the ratings are probably going to be
- 39:17Speaker 1: high the first couple of episodes, two or three episodes.
- 39:21Speaker 1: And then if this is what it is, it's going
- 39:23Speaker 1: to fall off. You're going to have people who love
- 39:25Speaker 1: this and want to watch this. But I think the
- 39:28Speaker 1: majority of the audience. is going to peace out.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Tap out.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I mean, can't take it.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Don't get me wrong.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I like that.
- 39:37Speaker 3: They're all thriving. I like that.
- 39:38Speaker 2: They're living their lives away and out of Cody and
- 39:42Speaker 2: Robin's grip and their control. And I think that that's
- 39:44Speaker 2: honestly fantastic. Like I'm not like mad at, That they're
- 39:48Speaker 2: doing this with their lives.
- 39:49Speaker 1: It's just.
- 39:50Speaker 2: If I'm going to be watching 45 minutes of an episode,
- 39:53Speaker 2: I'm going to really be wanting... some interesting conversation because
- 39:58Speaker 2: i woke up early to watch this shit you did
- 40:01Speaker 2: before my job because i'm dedicated yeah and i take
- 40:05Speaker 2: this shit seriously and i'm like literally falling asleep on
- 40:09Speaker 2: my couch like having to rewind shit yeah and i'm
- 40:12Speaker 2: taking notes for the episode and i'm just like what
- 40:14Speaker 2: am i even writing yeah i'm like looking through my
- 40:17Speaker 2: shit and i got all these spelling errors and stuff
- 40:19Speaker 2: because i'm just not.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Paying attention i feel like this the writing is on
- 40:22Speaker 1: the wall here like this is Not moving in an
- 40:25Speaker 1: exciting direction. But again, if the whole premise of this
- 40:29Speaker 1: season is to just work out relationships between these ladies
- 40:33Speaker 1: and maybe some of the kids and then end on
- 40:37Speaker 1: season 21, go out with like some love, then.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't mind that.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Then we're here. We're here for it. And we're definitely
- 40:43Speaker 1: going to enjoy it somewhat. But if you think... You're
- 40:47Speaker 1: going to do a season 22 with more of this shit?
- 40:51Speaker 1: No way. We cannot. We cannot go on this way.
- 40:54Speaker 1: No way. You will have to bring Cody back.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I mean, for real.
- 40:57Speaker 1: And his bitch ass wife, Robin. She gonna have to
- 40:59Speaker 1: come back too.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 1: With her stank face and her demons. For real. Otherwise,
- 41:06Speaker 1: this is just a flopperino.
- 41:08Speaker 2: But maybe we're too critical. Maybe we're the unpopular opinion.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Maybe people love this shit.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Well, if you hop on Reddit, I don't think we're
- 41:16Speaker 1: the unpopular opinion. I think people are not getting it.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:21Speaker 1: And that's all I'll say about that. Well, is there
- 41:23Speaker 1: anything else we need to say to these lovely raccoons
- 41:27Speaker 1: before we get up on out of here?
- 41:29Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please do us a favor.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Go to your favorite podcast platform and.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Leave us a glowing five-star review.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Really helps us grow the pod so more people can
- 41:38Speaker 2: join us in the dumpster. We would really appreciate it.
- 41:40Speaker 4: So thank you.
- 41:41Speaker 1: We will be back later this week to take some
- 41:44Speaker 1: of your phone calls. And do a deep dive on
- 41:46Speaker 1: filter water. I'm excited about it. Until then, please do
- 41:50Speaker 1: not forget that we have nothing but love for you.
- 41:53Speaker 3: And peace.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Bye. Bye, guys.
