- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to OnlyFans Q&A Live, a question and answer show exclusive to OnlyFans.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Miami Dawkins discord server.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's your host, out.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on, and this is OnlyFans Q&A Live for July the tenth, twenty, twenty, five, to lazy, July, Thursday afternoon.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm recording this.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: They still haven't signed a corner back, but what we're going to do in the second half of this show is that I'm going to take you through
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: The entire free agent cornerback list.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: And tell you why Russell Douglas is probably their only option.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I understand it's not the same with Junior has some fans, but his injury history and maybe his versatility in this scheme is not what we would want.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll get to that in the second half of the show.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: The first half of the show, I have no idea what I'll talk about.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'll probably get into some of this NFL collusion thing that's making the rounds.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: But first, let me tell you, if you want to participate in these shows, you want to ask questions.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Although today, we don't have that many questions.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think we have one that I'll get to for the second half.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to participate in these shows, you want to watch them being recorded alive.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to chat with like-minded, or not really like-minded dolphin fans.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to argue with other dolphin fans, you want to get away from Twitter.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: You got to go to our Discord.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: And that's discord.gg forward slash only fins.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: You become a member there.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: All access for four, ninety-nine a month.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get into this.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's another day.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: So naturally there's more to a hate on the internet.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Canty's latest.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Any more synopsis about what has happened?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to continue on that.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to talk a little bit about this collusion case that
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Then a little not really digging because I really don't care.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I've been listening to some podcasts.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: I listen to the publisher.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: He tried to lay it out.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: I will give you essentially the cliff notes of this whole scandal.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it is a scandal, by the way.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: We have an NFLPA official that benefited from
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: get this.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: An NFLPA official, remember NFLPA, that benefited from collusion that the NFL owners committed against the NFLPA.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you heard that correctly.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, this guy will, his name is Lloyd.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I keep forgetting his name.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Lloyd, just Lloyd.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to Pablo Tori and he'll get into the weeds of it.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Florio is all in the lather over this.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely loves this scandal.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: They've speculated, and mostly it's populatory of speculating on this, that it could cost Roger Gdell his job.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it could lead to some pretty big lawsuits, because when this collusion was taking place, and by the way, this collusion was really about keeping down guarantee dollars.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: You have some pretty big extensions that signed that summer.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about twenty-one.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about Justin Herbert.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about Calamari.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: To these guys have recourse now over over that
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: over this collusion that essentially attempted to hold down their earning power or their guaranteed dollars going forward.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Possibly, if that happens, you could see how the owners might say, look, we're gonna have to sacrifice somebody to this.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Why not sacrifice our employee?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's usually how it, you know, they would say, you know, shit runs downhill, money runs up.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the owners are just going to say, look, we're not going to, you know, fall on our sword over this crap, but we sure can make Roger Cadell follow follow fall on this sword over this collusion mess.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm interested to see where it goes right now.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's a nothing burger, meaning nobody really cares.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: because nobody's really talking about it all too much.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: But you can see how this could gain a little bit of traction and could cause some kind of stink, right?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the flip side to that.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's July tenth, okay?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: We essentially have nothing to talk about in media right now.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Dolphin fans and Dolphin media are essentially waiting for them to sign a corner back.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: So it is that dead period of the year.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And we're sitting here saying wondering when this is going to become a bigger story.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: When it hasn't.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe it's not going to become a big story.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is that what will make it a big story is if any of these players file suit and we're talking about like nine players in twenty twenty one.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: So it's an interesting story just in in what it can be where it can turn into a larger story.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see if I could get some of the the particulars because their grievance that the NFL is actually seeking.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Twelve million dollars.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: and they seek to appeal they're going to appeal the collusion ruling and they're going to seek twelve million dollars okay basically to reimburse them from for their their expenses in the lawsuit because since what was revealed were things that were confidential
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: They're saying, well, we were, agreed in this regard.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to be compensated for our expenses.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: But the guy that I was talking about earlier was Lloyd Howard Jr., who has essentially a title that they just created at the NFOPA.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see if I can read here what they want to say.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, beyond the obvious, and this, I'm going to read something that's from an NBC, NBC sports article, I believe it might have been by Mike Florian himself, and it is from Mike Florio.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is what he says.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Beyond the obvious question of whether the union would have made the decision to appeal the ruling, but for PTF, PFT, Rehears where he pets himself on the back.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Reporting on the existence of the previous, previously secret ruling is whether the NFOPA has blown the dead line for filing an appeal.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: The decision was issued on January,
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Article fifteen of the collective bargaining agreement which sets forth the procedures conducted by a system arbitrator has a clear and short deadline for activating the internal appeals process.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then he writes about that section and how it clearly lays it out.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible that the side deal, the league and the union structure keep the ruling secret, preserves the ten-day window for filing a notice of appeal.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Under such an agreement which may or may not exist, the ten-day clock would potentially not begin to tick until both sides jointly released to full and official ruling.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: It is also possible in theory that the Union Father notice of appeal in order to preserve the ability to pursue the full appeal.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: And most of Pelopore seizures, however, filing a notice of appeal is in an open ended placeholder.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's the activation of a former sequence of events culminating in a full blown appeal.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Now, do you get why nobody gives a shit about this thing?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's essentially a lawyer, my Florio.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: diving into the weeds into the eye of the minutia of this ruling and trying to find the story there.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: The story is pretty simple.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like I laid out earlier on.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to have to take a lawsuit from some of these players to actually turn this into anything more than what it is already.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: This is somebody Lloyd Howell Jr.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: who works for the NFLPA.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: who essentially conspired, I guess, to keep this collusion ruling secret.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: And in a way kind of benefited from it.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So if I'm a union member, I guess I would say, wait a minute, who does this guy represent?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Does he actually represent us?
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Because it doesn't seem that way.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I think this is a really good quote.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: from a union source and I think with this we could go to break and then we'll talk a little bit about cornerbacks that are available.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: The appeal is reflection of our obligation to enforce the CBA and our commitment to protecting our players interest yet they kept a secret.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do what's best for players and we'll exhaust our options in doing so.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Officially, you need to climb to answer a question from ESPN.com about the lag in the filing of an appeal.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's where the story lies.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: If nobody ever sues, it's a nothing burger, it's a waste of time, and Mike Florio essentially just filled a lot of dead air
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: What would have been dead air in the middle of July with lawyer speak and legal minutia?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Then nobody cares about.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess we're just waiting for Justin Herbert to sue somebody.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: And when he does, then we'll have something.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna go to break and we'll come back.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna get into these cornerbacks that are available in the free agent market.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: But first, these words.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: And we are back.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: They haven't signed a corner back yet.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Are we wondering why?
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Could it just be that it's July tenth and these guys don't have to report until two weeks from now and they're holding up for every possible dollar trying to create their own market?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Possibly even hold out into the preseason?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's possibility.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you're the dolphins,
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: kind of want, especially for a scheme that maybe these guys haven't been a very, very good fit in before or haven't ever played in before.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Might want to be, you know, have a little bit of time that accolade me into it.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe you want to get these guys in a little earlier.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: I would.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it turns out there is no movement so far.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: There is no visits.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: We got essentially twelve days until Vets report and there is not a quarterback in the fold.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: There are a lot of them available, however.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I want to get into a few of them.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'll give you a couple that played in the scheme before and would take to it pretty quickly.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: One is an obvious one.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's author Malette, formerly of the Ravens.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be thirty two years old when they play once again.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: played with the Ravens for a few years had a productive season in twenty twenty three made two million dollars last year.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Is that what you want to.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Get into.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Not not for me.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: You have some guys that are pretty much on the way out like Eli Apple, Jalen Mills that kind of played in this and this kind of system.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy who played in this system is way as well as
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be twenty-eight years old in season.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is that something that is appealing?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: A guy that did not play in this system, but is pretty good in press man and is available out there right now is Jack Jones.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be twenty-eight years old in season.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's a guy I would have a lot of interest in.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: No movement on him either.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of a problem child.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: But now I want to get into some of the guys that would be appealing.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Mike Hilton, still available, although he's a slot specialist, right?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's how that's where his best football has come.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that that's something Miami would be in on, but they have made contact with Mike Hilton before, right?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: made six million dollars last year he's going to be thirty one years old in season last played with the Bengals last year pretty good slot specialist that's not what they need I think they need a perimeter guy they have a couple of guys that they can play in the slot and they have plenty of safeties that have diversity to reduce down into the slot so you could cross off my coat I don't think he makes too much sense
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Henderson got to be twenty seven years old in season he was with the Steelers last year made five point one million dollars.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's still available out there.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's ain't ever was.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: First round pick.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: went to the steers with a lot of chatter as in there were going to you know they were going to resurrect his career he's just not he hasn't been very good period so that's another guy I would pass on this one's kind of interesting a manual mostly here's with Detroit last year made two point eight million dollars he will be twenty nine years old in season
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's played well.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: Remember Detroit last year, they took all those injuries, especially in the secondary and at linebacker.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: And they decided, we had to find something from somewhere, mainly mostly got
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: But from the commanders earlier in the season, I believe.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it looked like they were just picking up low-hanging fruit to help them get through the season while he didn't play.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't put him in a starting role.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's another guy you pass on.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Davis.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: Formerly of the Chargers was with the commanders last year, my three point two million dollars will be thirty years old inside the season.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Decent cover six guy, I guess, can't play in quarters.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be too interested in him either.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think his best football was left with the chargers.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't very good last year.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I would pass on him to James Bridebury going to be thirty two years old inside the season this this coming season.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: May twelve point six million dollars last year with the Eagles talk about a guy who has completely faded into oblivion.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would have zero interest whatsoever.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's decent in press man, match man.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: I guess he's a quarter corner so that would have some appeal.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: They have made contact with him.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: No contract offer was made.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad it hasn't because I think he is the very definition of watched.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of full of still available.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: How bad was that injury by the way?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: He made seven point five million dollars from the dolphins last year.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be thirty years old in season.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Are they gonna revisit that I doubt it?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: How bad was that injury?
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: I Think his issue was more the the two concussions he he endured last season So I guess he I don't think he's gonna be ready to apply and I think his career might be in jeopardy So you could cross off Kendall Fuller as well as as far as they return something Samuel Jr.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: One point eight million dollars last year going to be twenty six years old in season was with the chargers last year pretty good specialist as far as press man match man
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's good in man man.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now is that something that they want to do going forward?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: We've heard that that's what Anthony weaver wants to move closer to.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Contrary to popular belief, most people think, oh, you know, your corner backs are not that good.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, you can at the play a lot of zone, right?
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: it's the opposite.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: When your quarter's not that good you play a lot of press man try to speed up the clock on the quarterback and essentially don't expose them for too long.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Don't expose them to very intricate coverages that they probably can't execute.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he's not such a good fit.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Have they made contact?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Some contact.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: My information is that they have made a contract offer.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: We've heard what his father thinks of the organization.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: He just made it up out of whole cloth.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe that means that a something same with juniors probably not a target.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's the fun, Gilmore.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Gonna be thirty-five years old played with the Vikings last year, played okay.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, made seven million dollars last year.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Man, he's pretty much done.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: He is a pretty damn good man corner.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: But it's year, it will be year fourteen for him.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, is this you want to hang your your hat on a thirty five year old corner to play press man.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think that.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: That would be the smartest of acquisitions.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: They did make some contact with the Fungum or no word if they made any offers.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this leaves you with one of the most obvious ones of them all.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Russell Douglas is going to turn thirty one in season toward the end of the season.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: But with Buffalo last year made seven million dollars last year.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: Notice all these numbers are pretty up our high up there.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: is Russell Douglas being offered maybe three million dollars for the season he's looking at like man I made the seven last year can you even get close to seven and maybe I'll sign with you guys if not I'm just gonna hold out to see whoever takes an injury and maybe I'll get my six million dollars my five million dollars for the season
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: Russell Douglas, in my opinion, is the most obvious target.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: They have made him a contract offer.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, that contract offer is not, or has not been good enough to get him signed and in the fold.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's a very, very good cover three corner, good in quarters, very good in his own coverage.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's never going to press man.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's never going to match man.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're going to play some very, very soft coverages, you want to play some zones.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to play cover three.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: You want to play.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: You want to have him take a third of the field and cover it.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: She can do that.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Can he play the flat and play medium curls?
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: He can do that.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing you don't want him doing is I don't know an island running one on one with somebody but the buffalo bills didn't let him do that and he was pretty effective so I think that that's the obvious target and Well they get something done in that regard.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: I sure hope so because This list is thinner than I thought it would be when I started looking at it at first
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: So if I had to rank them all, Russell Douglas will be my number one.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Hilton is a no-go because he plays in the slot.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's his effective position and we have essentially like four guys that can play the slot.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think I would have Jack Jones number two.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he's a problem child, but he can play football.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: And he's also only going to be a twenty eight years old.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: Number three, I probably would have a son to say, I'm a junior just because of the upside and he's only going to be twenty six in season.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: So those are my three guys.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: Can it finally happen?
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: Can we get one sign before next Wednesday?
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: I see who some patelas in the chat, I'm going to bring him on.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's asking to come on.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he has something.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Who's some?
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm here, I made it.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: You got something free.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got, I guess, I got something, I don't know if maybe one may answer some questions or not.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm intrigued that you have the possibility or the opening of Jack Jones as a potential signing.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Just based off the age and the upside, but I don't think character-wise,
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: the dolphins, and especially specifically Anthony Weaver would want to have a personality like Jack Jones.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: They had already dealt with something similar in a, you know, Hall of Famer and Jalen Ramsey.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they want to do that again and leave it up for any risk.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the counter to that I think would be it would be a one year deal and he's essentially going to be playing for future contracts and future work and maybe he'll be on his best behavior, but absolutely get that.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as I think that this football player, the best football player in the group is Russell Douglas.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: The one that's the total package is probably Jack Jones, you know, if you think about it.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, one hundred percent, but don't you think that talking about all this is pretty much an indictment in second-round pick campsmith that they really don't have that much of belief in him.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely agree.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's time for Cam Smith, but it was time for Cam Smith last year.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: He should have been stepping up last year and helping them replace Kendall Fuller and they couldn't.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: He found more injuries than then he got injured again in season and had two IR stints last year.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: So when they needed him last year, they couldn't rely on him.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's a rely on Stormduck, a UDFA.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think Storm Cook was serviceable in that role, but obviously not something that you wanted.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think a guy to watch is as I had Johnson going forward.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's a guy that I think will have every opportunity this year.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I think one thing specifically in this defense whoever the cornerback group is whether it be
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: UDFA is like storm duck Isaiah Johnson.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to be the burden butter of this team and I've been rewatching some of the dolphins defense and some other defenses in the NFL and I think chop Robinson is going to have a big year specifically because of the stunts and the new weaver wants to run.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they rent a lot of stunts and simulated pressures with Jalen Ramsey.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a Jalen Ramsey anymore, but they do have a Robinson and Jalen Phillips.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: That could run those types of stunts, whether it be coming in from the boundary.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: One of those guys can be picking from the boundary and Robinson or Jalen Phillips as a looper.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's also why they have Kenneth Grant.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I do think that while cornerback
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: may be the most pressing need in this team.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: It might not be the most impactful next season.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: We got a couple of questions and maybe you could help me answer a couple of these.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: The first one is, do you think there's a deadline that would, that they would like to add a cornback buyer or would they be happy going into training camp with the room as it is?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's obvious that they would want to add a guy in the next twelve days so they could have him ready for training camp.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so they could start accumulating to the scheme.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, there's a couple of guys that were that played in the scheme last year, but they're not very appealing to bring on like awesome relate.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I would say, yeah, I train again.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, it's in twelve days.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of want to have somebody in the fold by then.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: This one you could help answer.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: Who's your favorite rookie and rookie you think that will perform the best this year?
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think kind of Grant's going to be a stud and my favorite rookie is going to be Jordan Phillips and I think he'll supplant Benito Jones's zero snaps by midseason.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: You have thoughts of some before we get out here.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think my favorite rookie would have to be at Jonas Avenue, just because the impact he's most likely going to bring along this offensive line and how well he'll be able to impact specifically in the run game.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think the one that might perform the best in my opinion, I think it might be all recorded the second specifically because of how the
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: evolution of the Dolphins run game will go.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think you'll put up some decent sized numbers where you'll say, Holy crap, this Dolphins run a back trio is deadly and going into the later part of the season.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: if the dolphins offensive line can stay healthy and they're running a lot of trap and power concepts with seven a.m.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Daniels as the cards look out for Gordon to demoralize defenders as the games go on as the season goes on and rack up quality rushes that could ice the games.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: Who's I'm scouting the fans?
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to be on.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to do tomorrow or you're doing tonight.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: You're doing a show tonight or tomorrow.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: We will be doing it Friday.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be recording it Friday with Bobby Peters.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's a cool guest.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: You got all his books?
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: Or no?
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: My person don't have all of his books.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: I've read some coach has all of his books, but
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: In his books, they're all game planning and how good the plays are.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to see if we can ask him to take a look at some of the plays that didn't work for the dolphins and maybe some other NFL teams and how you can evolve or make them better against different types of coverages and fronts.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and that's it.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: Next time we talk to you, I think through episode will be back next Monday or maybe Tuesday.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: We will figure it out.
