- 0:59Don Armstrong: And thank you for being you.
- 1:01Don Armstrong: I've known her for years, and she's a great person.
- 1:04Don Armstrong: Love her.
- 1:05Don Armstrong: You want it done, she can always get it done.
- 1:08Don Armstrong: There you go.
- 1:08Don Armstrong: All right.
- 1:08Don Armstrong: Uh, Mr.
- 1:09Don Armstrong: Mars, what did you find out about our display over here?
- 1:12Mike Marrs: That is the uh caddy, the Cadiente Cadillac.
- 1:17Don Armstrong: Try to please me.
- 1:18Don Armstrong: That's the Cadiente?
- 1:20Mike Marrs: Yes.
- 1:20Mike Marrs: Kind of a cutout, uh kind of from this side, it's a little hard to tell other than the front end.
- 1:25Mike Marrs: It's the angle the image was taken and stuff, but it's uh it's actually the one that's in the poster for the car show.
- 1:30Don Armstrong: And the car is actually sitting there behind it.
- 1:36Mike Marrs: So we found you you probably saw him when he came in.
- 1:38Mike Marrs: He came in and kind of eased around through the back, but this 71 Corvette sitting back here behind the dragster belongs to Randy Blackwell.
- 1:46Jeff Dziekan: The big blower on it.
- 1:47Mike Marrs: With the big blower on it, yes, a Mako shark almost.
- 1:50Don Armstrong: Good morning.
- 1:52Don Armstrong: Good morning.
- 1:52Don Armstrong: Thanks for joining us.
- 1:53Don Armstrong: Are you are you are you a Beaumont?
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I'm from Beaumont all my life.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: And then I moved to Houston, and I just moved back to Lumberton three years ago.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm from Beaumont and I have a lot of friends here and wanted to reconnect with all my hot rod friends.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Where's Lumberton?
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: It's about 12 miles from Beaumont towards uh Sealsby.
- 2:15Mike Marrs: Due north is what he's saying.
- 2:17Mike Marrs: Due north.
- 2:17Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: You're up in the woods.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: In the woods.
- 2:20Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 2:20Mike Marrs: Nice.
- 2:21Don Armstrong: So you go from the swamp to the woods.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:26Don Armstrong: 71 Corvette.
- 2:28Don Armstrong: Well, that would have been the year that uh they started lowering horsepower and changing things around.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: That is true.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: They did that in 71 and they downsized the horsepower, and so I bought a 71 a few years later, and I said it doesn't have enough horsepower.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: So I decided to up the horsepower and put a 671 supercharger on it.
- 2:50Don Armstrong: A blower.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: That's what you see now, a blower.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: That'll do it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And I've got a funny story.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And I've got a funny story about that.
- 2:58Don Armstrong: We'd like to hear it.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I uh worked hard all my life and I worked for Beaumont Motor Company here while I was going to college.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Saved all my money, and I thought, well, I would like to have a Rolex watch.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: So I saved my money and bought a Rolex watch.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Well, my ex-father-in-law said a few years later, he said, Randy, he said, I want to buy that watch from you.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I said, I don't want to sell it.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: He said, You've used it for a couple of years.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Let me let me buy it from you.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I said, okay.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I said, What will you pay for it?
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: He said, I'll give you$5,000 for it.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I said, okay.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I said, so I gave him the watch and he gave me$5,000, and that's my supercharger Rolex watch on my Does it say Rolex on the side of the supercharger using it?
- 3:41Jeff Dziekan: I wish I would have or his your ex-father-in-law's name on there.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I wish I would have written on there, yes.
- 3:45Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: So that's one of my cars.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Uh I've been collecting cars and I've been racing for 50 years.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Many years ago, Dickie Harrell, a funny car racer, was a friend of mine, and he had a flip-top uh uh Shivy 2.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: So I built one.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I bought a brand new 65 Shivy 2 off of Bowman Motor Company, took it straight to the shop, tore it down, took all the parts, and sold them back to Bowman Motor Company for 50 cents on the dollar.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: So now I built a funny car like Dickie Harrell's.
- 4:19Don Armstrong: I was gonna say when you say a flip top, you're talking about a funny car.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Funny car, yeah.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:23Don Armstrong: Because original funny cars, they were metal bodies, if I'm not mistaken.
- 4:26Don Armstrong: That's correct.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: They started out as an AFX, yes, and then they graduated up to the complete fiberglass flip top, yes.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: But uh I thought that I could be competitive with all of these professional racers.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I had fun, but I didn't ever do what I wanted to do.
- 4:44Mike Marrs: It takes lots of money to do that.
- 4:47Mike Marrs: We all did that, yeah.
- 4:49Mike Marrs: Yeah, I understand.
- 4:50Don Armstrong: So do you drive the uh blown Corvette very often?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: That's my streetcar, and that's I call that my 200 mile an hour streetcar.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: I've got a 62 Corvette that I've been racing for 10 or 12 years.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: And uh cage on it and all that.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: It's got a full cage on it, runs super super gas, and uh so I made it where I can drive it to car shows like this, but I didn't want to drive it today because it's so hard to get in and out of.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: So I brought the Corvette.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: It's easier to get in and out of.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Much easier, yes.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And I've I've been doing this for a long time.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: I I raced around with Stan Holt of Loopy Tortillas, and we raced all over the country at NHRE events, and I ran a Fierro Pontiac in Supergas, and I was lucky enough to get a few.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Literally didn't have the stock engine in it.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: No, he didn't.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: I was lucky enough to win a couple national events with it, and I still race it today.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: I've got a I've got a thousand horsepower, uh big block in it, that I run what they call the 580 index, and we run it Dallas and Houston and and Evidale, and we'll be racing the next race in Evadel.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: We're building the motor back, we blew the motor up about six months ago, so we're we're going back with it.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: So I'm eager to start racing again.
- 6:12Don Armstrong: You you you familiar with Lingenfelter, you remember that name?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: He is so far uh out of my league.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, because we can't afford him.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Well, of course not.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: But he is the he is the king of the LS motors.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 6:26Don Armstrong: Well, John John Lingenfelter was the racer way back in the day.
- 6:29Don Armstrong: Unfortunately, he passed away, but his uh his cu cousin John took over the company and he's progressed the company throughout the decades.
- 6:37Don Armstrong: And I had the uh lovely opportunity of meeting the guy and talking to him about it, and uh also seeing his Chevrolet collection.
- 6:46Don Armstrong: And uh in in that collection, there must have been a hundred cars.
- 6:51Don Armstrong: The collection is there at Lingenfelter, and it's in the back in a warehouse that's unlabeled, you wouldn't even know that it's there.
- 6:58Don Armstrong: And with these uh did you ever go there?
- 7:00Mike Marrs: No, I didn't.
- 7:02Don Armstrong: So it's I mean, a lot of cars, and they're all specialty cars.
- 7:06Don Armstrong: Matter of fact, it's it's as opposed to the the General Motors Heritage Collection.
- 7:11Don Armstrong: This is the Lingenfelcher collection, but they're all Chevrolets, and they have a lot of events out there at the Lingenfelter uh facility in this particular warehouse where all these cool cars are.
- 7:21Don Armstrong: And he had the Fiero out there, and uh you can close the hood on it.
- 7:29Don Armstrong: And I said, So what's so special about it?
- 7:31Don Armstrong: He says, Well, you know, we had to put one of our engines in it.
- 7:36Don Armstrong: And he said, he says, You want to hear it?
- 7:38Don Armstrong: I said, Yeah, start it up, sounded like a nice, calm V8.
- 7:44Don Armstrong: Well, he told me, he says, the only problem is that the car doesn't weigh anything.
- 7:48Don Armstrong: And he said, So I built the thing to be able to take my daughter to grade school, you know, back and forth to grade school.
- 7:56Don Armstrong: Yep.
- 7:56Don Armstrong: And so he took her to grade school.
- 7:58Don Armstrong: The problem was is that he you couldn't take it to grade school because it kept jumping forward and they had to bump up the brakes on the car.
- 8:06Don Armstrong: It wouldn't I you get it to where it would idle, and the car would leap forward and and the principal came up to him and said, Look, you've got to stop peeling out from here.
- 8:19Don Armstrong: Uh because uh yeah, people are saying things.
- 8:22Don Armstrong: So he had to uh just put the car in his collection.
- 8:24Don Armstrong: But it is absolutely magnificent.
- 8:26Don Armstrong: Everything that they do up there is spotless.
- 8:28Don Armstrong: It's also where I saw the 53-54 Corvette.
- 8:34Don Armstrong: And of course, back then it had the blue flame six in it, and they were deciding whether or not to stay with the blue flame six or go to the V8.
- 8:42Don Armstrong: They've decided that they're gonna go to the V8.
- 8:44Don Armstrong: And the guys that built the the Blue Flame Six said, Oh no, no, no, no, no, please don't do that.
- 8:50Don Armstrong: We're gonna supercharge the Blue Flame Six.
- 8:53Don Armstrong: He has the experimental car that they supercharged the Blue Flame Six in his collection, and as opposed to the up on the front of the Corvette, you know, he used to say Corvette up there in script and those early Corvettes, the C1s.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:07Don Armstrong: Pulled that off of there and it just says in script, same font, supercharged.
- 9:13Don Armstrong: And you'd never know until you open the hood, and there's the supercharger on that blue flame six.
- 9:17Don Armstrong: I just thought I'd pass that along.
- 9:19Don Armstrong: I thought that you would appreciate that.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: That's interesting.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: And talking about the Fiero, I was at a national event up in somewhere several years ago, and uh we run we run we run supergas, which is a 990 class.
- 9:35Don Armstrong: And there was 990, he's talking about 9.9 seconds in the quarter mile.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: That's correct.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: My Fierro would won 990 at 160 miles an hour.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: And we got down to the third or fourth round and look over another lane, and there's a Fierro Pontiac convertible that if we had both won the next round, we would run each other in the finals.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And neither one of us did it that way.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it didn't.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: But you break out.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Uh actually, I don't know, I don't remember what I did.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: But I didn't know.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: We didn't we have no there's always next time.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: But they had a they had a a few-year-old club, and the uh president of the club, a few year old club, came to me and said, I'd like to do an article on your car.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So after I lost, we sat down and did a bunch of commentation, and uh, and he was just real, real uh uh appreciative that I took the time to do.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Did you do you have the article?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: I don't have the article.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I thought that I Do you know what the publication was?
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: No, I don't.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: It's been it's been many years.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: I understand.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: But it's the it's a a fun car, and this car was built by Bruno Mansel's dad and Bruno Mansell Jr.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: That they build world renowned cars.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: They built this few year old Pontiac that I have, and we won we won the best engineered at Indianapolis with this car.
- 11:03Don Armstrong: Do you still see Bruno?
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: I see him at the few races.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: And he sees my car.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: It's his car.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: He said, Hey, hey, hey! And he followed me all the way to my pit and we talked for 30 minutes.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: He was so glad to see it.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, it just made me feel good that he still cared about it.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: That's good that you connected.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Yes, we did.
- 11:32Don Armstrong: Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:33Don Armstrong: You know, it's one thing about uh drag racing in the community that you connect with people.
- 11:38Don Armstrong: I may run into you five years from now and you're gonna go, I on your talk show.
- 11:43Don Armstrong: Yeah, it's one of those kind of things.
- 11:45Don Armstrong: That and and uh and that's the way it is when you come to a cruise end.
- 11:49Don Armstrong: You know, you meet him, he knows that guy that knows you, and it's this whole circle of friends that you didn't know that you had.
- 11:57Don Armstrong: And uh, I mean that's just the way that it works.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: These are great shows.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: They're having a show today.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: The reason there's not more cars here, but there's a good thing.
- 12:06Don Armstrong: You can't fit any more cars in here.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: There in 30 minutes, there'll be 50 more cars coming from the silo to get into this show.
- 12:13Mike Marrs: Yeah, they have coffees and cars or something.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: That's it, coffee and cars at the silo.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And I drove by there a while ago.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: It was 150 cars, so I know because some of my friends said, I'll see you at Lupi Tortillas.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: So how many do you think are here today?
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: I haven't really walked around, tell you the truth.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: I would say there's probably 80 to 90 cars here.
- 12:34Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a nice collection, and you know it's it's interesting because it runs the gamut from new to old, and everything in between, and everybody's got a tweak that they've done to their car.
- 12:46Don Armstrong: And some of them are uh tweaks like the Cadienti here, it's been tweaked three or four times.
- 12:52Don Armstrong: Yes, yeah.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Mini dollar tweaks.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I remember when he had that car built and it just started from nothing, and it's it's a top grade car right now.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: It is beautiful, very pretty.
- 13:05Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:06Don Armstrong: So um did so you brought the 71 here?
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Yes, I brought the 71 uh because it's easy to get in and out.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: And uh the 62 is still a race car, a nostalgia race car, but I blew the LS motor up.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: It had 840 horsepower, blew it up, so I put a 327 in it, and I drive it to car shows like this as a nostalgia race car.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: And uh, I should have done it because there's a lot of hot rods.
- 13:34Don Armstrong: Well, next time don't forget you could always come to the tailpipes and tacos over in Katy.
- 13:39Don Armstrong: We got a uh it's gonna be a a you would call it an Easter Saturday show.
- 13:45Don Armstrong: Oh, really?
- 13:46Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:47Don Armstrong: Yeah, and it's gonna be just like this at 8 to 11 on a Saturday morning.
- 13:50Don Armstrong: Come on over, spend the night on a Friday night, get up and show the car.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Well, I lived there uh in Highlands for 20 something years, and we just moved back.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Do you know Dale Hulquist?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: He's one of Dale and I worked together for four years.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, you know him well too?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
- 14:09Don Armstrong: He's shaking his head too.
- 14:10Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, we all do.
- 14:12Don Armstrong: We all have got stories to tell with this bunch.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Yes, to answer your question very well.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Well, Charlie Brothers.
- 14:17Don Armstrong: We sure uh Randy, we sure do appreciate you stopping by.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I enjoyed it.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Very much so.

- 17:23Don Armstrong: I don't even know I'm breathing or not.

- 17:54Don Armstrong: So go go on over there for that.
- 17:56Don Armstrong: That's next week's show.
- 17:57Mike Marrs: You don't have to pay extra either.
- 17:59Mike Marrs: No, Jeff is standing by.
- 18:01Don Armstrong: Hey, he's he's been using a lot of cream on the palm of his hand.
- 18:05Don Armstrong: Easy.
- 18:06Don Armstrong: All right, time now for Jeff's Motor Minute.
- 18:09Don Armstrong: We already did that.
- 18:10Don Armstrong: We did?
- 18:10Don Armstrong: We did.
- 18:11Don Armstrong: Well, never mind that.
- 18:12Don Armstrong: Okay, I could redo it.
- 18:14Don Armstrong: No, I don't want you to do it.
- 18:15Jeff Dziekan: I'll do it in another language.
- 18:17Don Armstrong: No, I don't want you to do any of that.
- 18:19Don Armstrong: Am I missing something?

- 18:32Don Armstrong: We we don't want to uh we don't want to take this credit card away without you knowing it.
- 18:39Don Armstrong: Yeah, without handing it to you if you're the owner of this credit card.
- 18:43Mike Marrs: Otherwise, otherwise we're gonna go uh inside and have some margarita.
- 18:46Jeff Dziekan: Well it was toward the we're not gonna do that.
- 18:48Jeff Dziekan: It was toward the back of the building.
- 18:50Jeff Dziekan: I am it was toward the back of the building.
- 18:51Jeff Dziekan: So if you were in the back of the building and you had your wallet or something out, we have your card.
- 18:57Don Armstrong: Here is something very important called recalls.
- 19:00Don Armstrong: We do this every week.
- 19:01Don Armstrong: I think every General Motors vehicle, known to man, for the 20, some 25, but mostly 26 uh vehicles that General Motors has produced, they're all being recalled because of drum roll, please, missing owners manuals.
- 19:18Don Armstrong: What they didn't give them owner's manual.
- 19:21Don Armstrong: Yeah, you know, they're supposed to download that into your car these days.
- 19:24Don Armstrong: They don't have the paper ones.
- 19:25Don Armstrong: Well, a lot of a lot of manufacturers don't have paper ones anymore.
- 19:30Mike Marrs: Yeah, they get they tell you go look it online at a 400-page book.
- 19:33Jeff Dziekan: No, mine came on mine came in a USB.
- 19:36Jeff Dziekan: They gave me mine in a USB.
- 19:37Don Armstrong: Well, i i if you go into the menu of your vehicle, yeah, there's the manual in there.
- 19:42Don Armstrong: Anyway, besides all of those, they're also recalling the Ford Explorer 25 to 26 for passenger side headlight malfunction, whatever that is.
- 19:54Don Armstrong: I guess the headlights hanging out over the whatever.
- 19:57Don Armstrong: Um, also, speaking of Fords, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Escape, Explorer, Maverick, Mustang, Ranger, Corsair on the Lincoln side along with the Nautilus 2025 loss of drive power from EGR valve failure.
- 20:12Don Armstrong: Uh-oh.
- 20:13Don Armstrong: It wouldn't be right if we didn't have a whole list of Fords.
- 20:16Mike Marrs: That's what I'm thinking.
- 20:16Mike Marrs: What would recall be without Ford?
- 20:18Don Armstrong: Oh, well, here's some more.
- 20:21Don Armstrong: Um, no, that's escape trailers.
- 20:23Don Armstrong: I was thinking.
- 20:25Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 20:25Don Armstrong: Well, I guess that's it for Fords.
- 20:27Don Armstrong: But um I do have another vehicle here.
- 20:31Don Armstrong: Um, and it is lane departure warning is deactivated, as it should be in all cars.
- 20:36Don Armstrong: Audi A6, A7, Q8, uh 2019.
- 20:40Don Armstrong: That's being recalled for that.
- 20:41Don Armstrong: Toyota Highlander and Highlander hybrid.
- 20:44Don Armstrong: Second row seatbacks may fail to lock.
- 20:47Don Armstrong: 21 to 24 model years.
- 20:50Don Armstrong: And Mercedes-Benz GLA250, incorrectly installed.
- 20:54Don Armstrong: Cable may prevent the door from opening.
- 20:58Don Armstrong: And the Kia K4 and the Kia Telluride 2627 seatbelt buckle may not latch.
- 21:04Jeff Dziekan: That's not good.
- 21:04Don Armstrong: Martha.
- 21:05Don Armstrong: I think you would I think you'd probably know that right away, wouldn't you?
- 21:08Mike Marrs: Hang on, hang on.
- 21:10Mike Marrs: Hang on.
- 21:10Don Armstrong: No, one of these.
- 21:11Don Armstrong: Hold on.
- 21:13Don Armstrong: I know I'm stopping, I'm turning the coin just holding.
- 21:16Mike Marrs: Yeah, and you know when they used to have bench seats, that was easy to do, but now you've got bucket seats.
- 21:20Mike Marrs: You gotta reach way on over there.
- 21:22Don Armstrong: There's a problem with that, Morris.
- 21:24Don Armstrong: How about getting a late model car?
- 21:27Don Armstrong: Just saying.
- 21:28Don Armstrong: Why?
- 21:29Don Armstrong: Why?
- 21:30Don Armstrong: What year is that truck?
- 21:33Don Armstrong: 2015.
- 21:34Don Armstrong: 15.
- 21:35Don Armstrong: Oh, 15.
- 21:36Don Armstrong: Yes.
- 21:36Don Armstrong: Did you ever get that exhaust leak fixed?
- 21:38Don Armstrong: Yes, I did.
- 21:39Don Armstrong: You did?
- 21:40Don Armstrong: Yeah, it did.
- 21:41Don Armstrong: How much did that cost and what did they do?
- 21:42Mike Marrs: Don't ask.
- 21:43Mike Marrs: They replaced all the bolts and the manifolds, but they didn't get the broken.
- 21:46Don Armstrong: The exhaust manifold?
- 21:47Mike Marrs: Yeah, it didn't get broken.
- 21:48Don Armstrong: It was the bolts.
- 21:50Mike Marrs: Didn't know the break.
- 21:51Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 21:51Mike Marrs: Didn't know to break.
- 21:52Don Armstrong: Was it a recall?
- 21:53Don Armstrong: Nope.
- 21:53Don Armstrong: No.
- 21:54Don Armstrong: It was not a recall.
- 21:55Don Armstrong: So you had to pay cash money out of your pocket.
- 21:57Mike Marrs: Out of your pocket.
- 21:59Don Armstrong: How much did that cost you?
- 22:00Mike Marrs: I was like a thousand dollars.
- 22:02Mike Marrs: Both of 'em?
- 22:03Mike Marrs: Yeah, for both sides.
- 22:04Mike Marrs: Just one bolt.
- 22:05Mike Marrs: Yeah, I know.
- 22:06Mike Marrs: You gotta go in through the fender well to get to 'em.
- 22:08Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 22:08Mike Marrs: And you gotta have a tap and a die.
- 22:10Mike Marrs: Oh, you can the guy told me he said if I break one of these off inside that block, it's really gonna be expensive.
- 22:16Don Armstrong: Yeah, because you gotta tap the the bolt that's in there.
- 22:19Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, that's not good.
- 22:23Don Armstrong: Uh I'm gonna let you hold that.
- 22:24Don Armstrong: Hold that because I don't want to mess that up.
- 22:26Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 22:27Don Armstrong: Um let's do sold cars.
- 22:29Don Armstrong: I can either do uh story of the week or I can do the sold cars.
- 22:33Don Armstrong: Let's do sold cars.
- 22:35Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 22:36Don Armstrong: And this is kind of fitting because the Cadienti is a 61.
- 22:40Don Armstrong: Here is a 63, Cadillac coupe de ville.
- 22:44Don Armstrong: It is a uh hard top, and it looks all original in stock.
- 22:49Don Armstrong: And how much would you pay for a Cadillac coupe de ville?
- 22:53Don Armstrong: Blue in color, white wall tires, not the wide whites, no, they weren't in style back in 1963.
- 22:59Don Armstrong: It looks like a stock card, it looks like it's out in the desert somewhere.
- 23:02Don Armstrong: I'm gonna go 12 grand.
- 23:03Don Armstrong: 12 grand.
- 23:04Don Armstrong: Um David, would you like to uh David participate in this?
- 23:08Jeff Dziekan: I'll I'll participate.

- 23:18Mike Marrs: Yeah, right there at the end.

- 23:20Mike Marrs: So here we go.
- 23:21Don Armstrong: 1977 Chevy Nova.
- 23:24Don Armstrong: I got this for you.
- 23:24Don Armstrong: Thank you, sir.

- 23:33Don Armstrong: Uh let me just say this before you dump in that eight grand.
- 23:37Don Armstrong: There's something special about this car, and I'm thinking that it is a uh complete restoration and it may have uh V8 motor under the hood.
- 23:45Don Armstrong: Uh it doesn't signify that as uh with a badge on the side, but uh you want to rebid that 77, 12?
- 23:52Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 23:52Don Armstrong: David, would you 17 17?
- 23:55Don Armstrong: Uh did uh George say anything about uh pricing?

- 24:05Don Armstrong: Mine was a$72.
- 24:06Mike Marrs: Jeff Heitzman came in at$20 under the wire, but well uh Jeff Heitzman would have won.
- 24:10Don Armstrong: He'd been the closest.
- 24:11Don Armstrong: All right, next up.
- 24:13Don Armstrong: Next up.
- 24:13Don Armstrong: Uh are you into mobster-looking cars?
- 24:16Don Armstrong: Man, I'm telling you, this is fine.
- 24:18Don Armstrong: A 1939 Cadillac Series 61.
- 24:22Don Armstrong: It's a two-door coupe with those huge fenders on it.
- 24:26Don Armstrong: Wide whites.
- 24:27Don Armstrong: This thing is immaculate.
- 24:29Don Armstrong: And boy, I'll tell you what, that's real tempting to sell that Corvette and buy me one of those.
- 24:34Don Armstrong: 42.
- 24:35Don Armstrong: 42, Jeff says.
- 24:37Don Armstrong: David, would you like to join in?
