- 0:25Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to gate Leapers, the pop culture game
- 0:28Speaker 1: show that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. Today,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I am your games master and ominous force living in
- 0:34Speaker 1: the woods Drew Shulman. I'm your normal host, but given
- 0:37Speaker 1: today's fandom, that's kind of par for the course, things
- 0:40Speaker 1: being a bit out of the ordinary and all. But
- 0:42Speaker 1: a games master needs games, and games well, they need players.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So please welcome first your usual host, but today player Matt.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Hello, I'm in the wrong chat.
- 0:55Speaker 1: It is super weird and I love it returning as
- 0:58Speaker 1: not the hair leader of this show. But that's just
- 1:02Speaker 1: a humble little captain.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Just a regular little guy, a regular little guy, a
- 1:08Speaker 4: silly little goose if we may, and you will be
- 1:14Speaker 4: aided by a brilliant usual captain taking the co captain
- 1:18Speaker 4: chair today, Jason Wynn.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Hello, I'm here excited as always. Yeah. Hey, Up until
- 1:31Speaker 1: a few days ago, I was in that position too.
- 1:33Speaker 1: For this fandom, I did a lot of crash studying,
- 1:37Speaker 1: So Matt, I think usually goes to that saying that
- 1:40Speaker 1: when you were in the player's chair, it is usually
- 1:42Speaker 1: a fandom you were quite a fan of.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Tell us a bit about it how do you get
- 1:45Speaker 1: into this franchise and what does it mean to you?
- 1:48Speaker 6: Yeah, Twin Peaks means a lot to me. It's probably
- 1:50Speaker 6: my all time favorite thing, like ever, like things, including people,
- 1:59Speaker 6: I've accepted that it's just one of those things that
- 2:03Speaker 6: slots into my brain very perfectly. Like the first time
- 2:05Speaker 6: I saw it, it was like a light bulb going
- 2:07Speaker 6: on moment of just like, oh, this is what all
- 2:09Speaker 6: things should be like. And it's just been like a
- 2:13Speaker 6: lifelong love ever since. And Yeah, I'm so thrilled and
- 2:18Speaker 6: excited to be in the player's chair for this, for
- 2:21Speaker 6: this episode, to have my own medicine thrown back at me.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, I hope I can make this a fun and
- 2:25Speaker 1: horrible experience all the same time for you, so you
- 2:28Speaker 1: can see what it's like for all your players that
- 2:29Speaker 1: have just squirm in their chairs. Yes, speaking of squirming
- 2:33Speaker 1: in their chairs, Jason, what is your relationship to this fandom?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Mad?
- 2:36Speaker 7: It's it's mad, that's it. I saw two episodes one day.
- 2:43Speaker 7: He was like, come and watch this, and I was like, Okay,
- 2:47Speaker 7: what episodes were these?
- 2:49Speaker 3: First?
- 2:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it was just the first two episodes. I'm not
- 2:52Speaker 6: so psychotic that I was like, Hey, you've you've never
- 2:55Speaker 6: seen Twin Pigs before. Let's start with the return part eight.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I think you like Episode like two or three would
- 3:02Speaker 1: have been enough to throw most people off of the show.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So at least you were nice one and I was intrigued.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I was.
- 3:07Speaker 7: I was legitimly intrigued. I liked the murder mystery aspect
- 3:10Speaker 7: of it, and it started getting a bit weird. It
- 3:13Speaker 7: didn't feel fully weird, and that was like, hey, don't
- 3:16Speaker 7: do full research. That's not funny. Do like a crash course.
- 3:20Speaker 7: But the thing about the Twin Peaks fandom is there's
- 3:22Speaker 7: no Twin Peaks in fifteen minutes on YouTube. They're all
- 3:25Speaker 7: fucking three four hour essays. And I can't crash course that.
- 3:30Speaker 7: So I watched twenty second videos of Twin Peaks in
- 3:32Speaker 7: a nutshell, the Simpsons watching Twin Peak.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I think I found it's from a mean lens.
- 3:40Speaker 7: I never got to any of like the surreal David
- 3:43Speaker 7: Lynchean things, but I liked it thus far. I probably
- 3:47Speaker 7: should watch it. Honestly, I'm planning to finish the series.
- 3:50Speaker 7: I just got three season one for this nice that's good,
- 3:53Speaker 7: though I forgot there were three seasons that was part
- 3:55Speaker 7: of my research.
- 3:58Speaker 6: And a movie, My God, and three books.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah, let's introduce it files. It's so good. Oh interesting.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Well, before I get any more overwhelmed by all of
- 4:11Speaker 1: this information that I realized I haven't prepared my own
- 4:13Speaker 1: self for. As I'm the host of the show, let's
- 4:15Speaker 1: introduce team number two, with our usual captain returning in
- 4:19Speaker 1: her seat, the now infamous stand up comic Audre Stevenson.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I did one five minute set and it was flawless.
- 4:29Speaker 4: It was a.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Glorified It was the equivalent of me doing great four piano.
- 4:36Speaker 2: But people loved it.
- 4:38Speaker 1: The people did. Those in the audience I could hear laughing,
- 4:41Speaker 1: some more loudly than others because of their very boisterous
- 4:44Speaker 1: laugh that I love.
- 4:46Speaker 6: That was that was you right?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Okay, I have watched that clip accident, Oh, Jason, It's
- 4:52Speaker 1: something I'm used to hearing myself laughing recordings. It was
- 4:55Speaker 1: very evidently you and I love it. I'm so sorry.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Audre, No good, it's good. No, it was phenomenal.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And added to it. And speaking of adding to Audre
- 5:06Speaker 1: and her team, we have her teammate, the third time
- 5:09Speaker 1: returning co host of ten xt podcast, Graham.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Hello, yes, thank you for inviting me.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Back, Thank you for being here.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yes, it was it was one hundred percent me. I
- 5:19Speaker 1: chose to invite you back from Yes I was.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I was very surprised having not met you before.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, there you got all the same
- 5:27Speaker 1: honestly pretty far for the course of meeting people you
- 5:31Speaker 1: don't know me. Come to a game.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Show, that's yep, that's how people in my orbit.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So your your your people in orbit are basically Saw
- 5:41Speaker 1: from Jake Saw from sawt there you go, yeah, yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 1: you want to play a game.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It's the whole of that.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It's the whole version of Saw.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I feel like this is going to be just about
- 5:52Speaker 3: his torturous.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So, Audra and Graham, given that you were both so
- 5:59Speaker 1: close to Matt for so long, what is your connection
- 6:02Speaker 1: to this franchise and this series.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I have seen it all. I haven't seen the movie.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'll be real. That's a lie. Saying i've seen it
- 6:10Speaker 2: all is a lie. I started this out on the
- 6:13Speaker 2: wrong foot, Graham, but I have seen everything I've seen.
- 6:19Speaker 2: We went to see some like set filming locations. There
- 6:23Speaker 2: was a Halloween where we dressed up as Laura Palmer,
- 6:26Speaker 2: wrapped in Plastic and Bob and it was great. But
- 6:32Speaker 2: also I have only seen everything like once.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Hey, you're still ahead of me, so heck, yeah, it's
- 6:38Speaker 1: a pretty good place to be in this game. And Graham,
- 6:41Speaker 1: what about you? How much of this is you're a
- 6:44Speaker 1: fan of the franchise versus a fan of your friend Matt.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Oh, look, I'm a big fan of my friend Matt.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I think there's a common theme in how all of
- 6:53Speaker 3: us on this show got into Twin Peaks. Of just
- 6:56Speaker 3: we had to shut Matt up. It's just easier to
- 7:01Speaker 3: watch Twin Peaks and have him recommend it every time
- 7:04Speaker 3: we see him big time. But I have seen all
- 7:08Speaker 3: of season one and two and as much of the
- 7:10Speaker 3: Return as I could stomach. Before I was like, oh,
- 7:13Speaker 3: too much, David Lynch, I just it's just too much.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I've seen the film, I've not read the books, but
- 7:21Speaker 3: I don't get out of Twin Peaks what most people do.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I'm not there for the surrealist kind of nonsense, the
- 7:27Speaker 3: sort of oh, who is this malevolent spirit who killed all?
- 7:31Speaker 1: It?
- 7:31Speaker 3: Not interested. I am there for the melodrama. I'm there
- 7:34Speaker 3: for the high school. I'm there for who's gonna own
- 7:37Speaker 3: the lumber mill. That's where I go. I'm all about
- 7:40Speaker 3: that eighties soap opera. Yeah, so I'm hoping for lots
- 7:43Speaker 3: of those questions To go back to something Jason said.
- 7:45Speaker 3: The first thing I had to watch in like final
- 7:48Speaker 3: round of prep for this was like, remind me all
- 7:50Speaker 3: the characters, and someone had a here's every character that
- 7:53Speaker 3: matters in the first season and who they're screwing. And
- 7:55Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, that's what I really needed, because my God,
- 7:59Speaker 3: has everyone fucking somebody?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yeah? Interesting, it's a big plot point. Yeah, yeah, it's
- 8:06Speaker 1: a lot. My team's a murder has taken place in
- 8:09Speaker 1: this small, peaceful town and we really need to detective
- 8:12Speaker 1: to solve this case. So I would like each pair
- 8:14Speaker 1: to come up with a Twin Peaks theme detective school group,
- 8:18Speaker 1: what's the word? Detective agency team name? Yeah, Matt and Jason.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Would you like to start? Because I really want to
- 8:24Speaker 1: hear what Jason's first pitches are. I'll be honest, Do
- 8:27Speaker 1: you have any team next?
- 8:28Speaker 8: Well?
- 8:28Speaker 1: I forgot. I forgot.
- 8:29Speaker 7: It's been a while since I've been in gate Leapers
- 8:32Speaker 7: and I don't know anything about this, so I completely
- 8:34Speaker 7: forgot to. But the one team name that I thought
- 8:36Speaker 7: would work well for us, and I know about this
- 8:39Speaker 7: series is the Honeymooners because lore, yeah, match trying to
- 8:45Speaker 7: figure out, Yeah, your own honeymoon was Twin Peaks related.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Oh sure, yeah it was.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Isn't The Honeymoon as a sitcom about a guy who
- 8:55Speaker 6: beats his wife?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't know that.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Apologies for that.
- 9:02Speaker 6: It's like it's like a nineteen fifties sitcom where it's like, oh,
- 9:05Speaker 6: it's funny that he puts her in her place.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Oh god, I did not know that. Maybe we don't
- 9:11Speaker 1: have which we could go with that as grinding if
- 9:13Speaker 1: you want put me in my place, Matt.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Okay, well we'll see how this abusive partnership continues to
- 9:21Speaker 6: the next hour and a half. I've got I've got
- 9:24Speaker 6: some team names. This was This was fun coming up
- 9:26Speaker 6: with team names for my favorite thing. I've got wonderful
- 9:28Speaker 6: and strange for us, which is like this is getting
- 9:32Speaker 6: to be take us to a place both wonderful and
- 9:34Speaker 6: strange as a quote, so yeah, I can decide who's
- 9:36Speaker 6: wonderful strange. You could be wonderful, sure, yeah, whatever way
- 9:39Speaker 6: around you want to put it. I've got got a
- 9:42Speaker 6: light which is one of my favorite moments from the
- 9:47Speaker 6: Return of Everite episodes. I've got the Dreamers who dream,
- 9:51Speaker 6: which ultimately is the whole meaning of Twin Peaks. Is
- 9:54Speaker 6: the point of to awaken everyone to the life philosophy
- 9:57Speaker 6: that we all live inside a dream and if you
- 9:59Speaker 6: just if everyone realizes that we can just be our
- 10:02Speaker 6: ideal selves. The Special Agents, brackets derogatory, and then Twin Porks, because.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Wow, I do love twin Porks.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I mean, if they don't take twin Parks.
- 10:24Speaker 6: All right, beginning to say twin Porks is a hot commodity,
- 10:26Speaker 6: I think I know we should take twin Parks.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Are we settling on twin Porks?
- 10:32Speaker 7: I like the episode title. You go into a Twin
- 10:34Speaker 7: Peaks episode and you immediately see twin Porks.
- 10:36Speaker 2: What's going at sets the tone immediately?
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, twin Porks is one thousand percent the name of
- 10:43Speaker 1: like a diner in a Simpsons episode. Yeah, uh huh
- 10:46Speaker 1: oh they go to like a small, like northeastern town,
- 10:49Speaker 1: like a barbecue joint, exactly. Okay, so we have the
- 10:53Speaker 1: Twin Porks and we need to know who they will
- 10:55Speaker 1: be facing off against. Graham and Audre.
- 10:57Speaker 2: What do you got I have a couple, just the owls,
- 11:00Speaker 2: because we are not what we seem.
- 11:02Speaker 3: We're gonna wins just how it seems.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I mean, I my memory is not great. I'll be real.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And I have Blue Rose task Force.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I like it.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And my third one that I had I use any pronouns,
- 11:20Speaker 2: So I went with the log Ladies. I just had
- 11:28Speaker 2: to get. I had to get some kind of pun.
- 11:30Speaker 3: T versus the log Ladies. That's what happened. I mean,
- 11:42Speaker 3: the only the only character I want is the Arm.
- 11:45Speaker 3: That's my favorite character from Twins. It doesn't make any
- 11:48Speaker 3: sense and I don't really understand. It encapsulates twin peaks
- 11:52Speaker 3: for me. But the log Ladies. I think I've got
- 11:57Speaker 3: nothing better than that.
- 11:58Speaker 6: The log Ladies and the Arm. No, it's pricy lot,
- 12:01Speaker 6: the log.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Vady and the Arm.
- 12:05Speaker 1: The mental images. The arm is holding the log. That's
- 12:07Speaker 1: what we'll all know in our test. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 12:10Speaker 1: we go all right, So we officially have and I
- 12:12Speaker 1: have these written down Twin Porks versus the log Vadies.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Nice.
- 12:18Speaker 1: He Now that's good stuff to our listeners out there.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You might be listening to us talk about this show,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and much like I was several days Ago and Jason
- 12:25Speaker 1: is to say, going, what is this about? Some things
- 12:28Speaker 1: helped me understand and unfortunately, even with the passing knowledge segment,
- 12:32Speaker 1: you probably won't, but give it a tri aldra.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Twin Peaks is an American mystery horror drama series created
- 12:42Speaker 2: by David Lynch and Mark Frost. It ran for two
- 12:45Speaker 2: seasons in the early nineteen nineties and got a third
- 12:48Speaker 2: and final season in twenty seventeen. This adds it to
- 12:52Speaker 2: a long list of nineties powerhouses that came back in
- 12:55Speaker 2: twenty seventeen. Media like Power Rangers and Jumanji, fashion like
- 13:01Speaker 2: dark lips and platform shoes, and concepts like anti feminist
- 13:05Speaker 2: movements oh my Gosh, also ducktails that came back. This
- 13:12Speaker 2: show follows agent Dale Cooper as he investigates the murder
- 13:16Speaker 2: of Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks, Washington. In the process,
- 13:20Speaker 2: he finds out that things are a little supernatural in
- 13:23Speaker 2: this small town. Seemed pretty simple, but the execution was
- 13:28Speaker 2: revolutionary at the time, kind of like the First Time
- 13:32Speaker 2: You Got Head. People love Twin Peaks for its surrealism
- 13:36Speaker 2: and horror mixed with melodrama and silliness, all wrapped up
- 13:40Speaker 2: in the guise of a detective show. I love Twin
- 13:43Speaker 2: Peaks because, just like me, it's equal parts cozy and horrifying.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Now get that fish out of the percolator. It's time
- 13:53Speaker 2: for a pandemonium. And now that we've finished this damn
- 13:58Speaker 2: fine cup of coffee, it's time for a Fandomonium. Wait
- 14:04Speaker 2: a second, I think my log has something to tell you.
- 14:08Speaker 2: It says it's time for a fandomonium. Now, if you'll
- 14:14Speaker 2: excuse me, I just need to voice message my secretary, Diane.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I'm holding in my hand a small box of chocolate bunnies.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It's time for a Fandomonium.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I'm just gonna I'm gonna leave all of those in.
- 14:28Speaker 3: That's all things you use, all my alts, all your
- 14:31Speaker 3: alts a going.
- 14:32Speaker 2: They're all great. Thank you, Audra.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And just before we get to today's games, I've asked
- 14:42Speaker 1: each player to bring in a muse, somebody that inspires
- 14:45Speaker 1: them or something they love from this particular fandom. If
- 14:47Speaker 1: I may go myself, Twin Peaks inspiring me because yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I need more TV in my life that makes me
- 14:52Speaker 1: put my phone down. And boy does this series ever
- 14:54Speaker 1: make me do that a lot. And most of the time.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'm trying to look up things related to the show,
- 14:59Speaker 1: like again, who's banging who? And I have a rewind
- 15:02Speaker 1: you rewatched that? Because I've lost my Who's doing what?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Any war on? I was going to look up who's
- 15:05Speaker 1: doing who?
- 15:08Speaker 6: It's important, So I.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Would love to start. I want to go. I want
- 15:12Speaker 1: to go in order for this one a little bit,
- 15:13Speaker 1: So Matt, would you please start with your muse? Yeah,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I can do.
- 15:17Speaker 6: I've this was tough. This was really tough. I thought
- 15:20Speaker 6: about this for a long time. There are so many
- 15:21Speaker 6: things from Twin Peaks that inspire me. I think The
- 15:24Speaker 6: Return is the best movie that's ever been made. It's
- 15:27Speaker 6: like what they had the balls to release it as
- 15:29Speaker 6: an eighteen hour TV series, but I think it's the
- 15:31Speaker 6: best start to finish movie. It's the magnum opus of
- 15:34Speaker 6: my favorite director. It's got loads of elements from his
- 15:37Speaker 6: previous work just incorporated in it. It's just an artist's
- 15:40Speaker 6: life presented as an eighteen hour TV series. So that's
- 15:44Speaker 6: obviously very inspiring. I love the quote from it fix
- 15:48Speaker 6: Your Hearts or Die that his character, David Lynch's character
- 15:52Speaker 6: the head of the FBI, says Return came out in
- 15:54Speaker 6: twenty seventeen. It was like the rise of like transphobia,
- 15:58Speaker 6: and it was like specifically directed for like the benefit
- 16:01Speaker 6: of a trans character of like I told those clowns
- 16:03Speaker 6: to fix their hearts or die. And it's kind of
- 16:05Speaker 6: become like a motto among like the LGBTQ community of
- 16:09Speaker 6: like fix your hearts or die, because it's got that
- 16:10Speaker 6: good bit of activism spirit in it of like fuck you,
- 16:14Speaker 6: but also like what it's actually about the soundtrack is incredible.
- 16:19Speaker 6: The freedom of interpretation of the whole thing. It's like
- 16:21Speaker 6: walking into a gallery and whatever you say about it
- 16:24Speaker 6: is correct. That's the correct interpretation of Twin Peaks. But
- 16:28Speaker 6: for my actual muse, I've got to go with something sentimental.
- 16:32Speaker 6: I'm going to go with sort of bonding.
- 16:34Speaker 2: With my dad.
- 16:35Speaker 6: He's a fundamentally uncool man, got it. Yeah, So that's
- 16:43Speaker 6: just the way things are. But he watched Twin Peaks
- 16:46Speaker 6: back when it originally adds on TV. So when I
- 16:49Speaker 6: got into Twin Peaks, he was like, oh, I remember that.
- 16:51Speaker 6: I loved that, And so we watched Twin Peaks together
- 16:55Speaker 6: and then watched the return when it came out, and
- 16:58Speaker 6: of just all it's been something we've always been able
- 17:00Speaker 6: to talk about because interst overlap in a in a
- 17:04Speaker 6: ton of other ways, but do in this one specific way.
- 17:07Speaker 6: And I've just realized I've I've made a quality time
- 17:10Speaker 6: with my father, my muse on a panel full of
- 17:13Speaker 6: people who were cut short from that in some way
- 17:15Speaker 6: or I'm gonna stop talking now.
- 17:19Speaker 2: So cute, fucking insensible.
- 17:24Speaker 3: It sounds really nice, sounds really really nice.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I will say that, I will defend that, and saying
- 17:29Speaker 1: that is the most linging thing I can imagine, is
- 17:31Speaker 1: someone having such a heartfelt moment among a bunch of
- 17:34Speaker 1: people who are feeling complexly resentful of that audience have
- 17:38Speaker 1: to go like, it's really sweet despite the context. Yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 1: you know, if someone's going to have a father moment,
- 17:44Speaker 1: it better be fucking sweet. You know. Amazing, Matt, thank you.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I really think it's an amazing news. I love that
- 17:52Speaker 1: you got to manage to get two in there. But again,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you don't get to do this often, so I'll let
- 17:56Speaker 1: it slide. I gotta crame him in exactly continuing to
- 18:00Speaker 1: ordered Jason, I'm so excited to hear what your muses
- 18:02Speaker 1: for this franchise.
- 18:03Speaker 7: Yeah, I can't not a lot of touchstones on this,
- 18:05Speaker 7: but I think I think my muse here and I
- 18:07Speaker 7: don't mean this to be as cheesy as it is,
- 18:09Speaker 7: but it's Matt because as we've known each other, Matt
- 18:13Speaker 7: will like spread in little tidbits here and there of like,
- 18:16Speaker 7: this is the shit I'm into, and it doesn't matter
- 18:18Speaker 7: if other people don't think it's good. This is the
- 18:20Speaker 7: stuff I'm into. And in the short brief moment that
- 18:23Speaker 7: I was like looking at twin peaks clips that I
- 18:26Speaker 7: haven't experienced or seeing, I like got it. I don't
- 18:28Speaker 7: know why it's taken this long in our friendship to
- 18:30Speaker 7: like get it, but like I flashed back, I was like,
- 18:33Speaker 7: oh yeah, he mentioned like Dune prophecy is just weird,
- 18:35Speaker 7: like weird surrealist vision moments, and he doesn't care if
- 18:39Speaker 7: anyone else likes it. That's the shit he's into. Oh yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 7: his favorite thor'st Door two. No one else thinks what
- 18:45Speaker 7: he does. That's him, you know. And so I just
- 18:49Speaker 7: really love the idea that something fits so perfectly in
- 18:51Speaker 7: your brain. It scratches that little part of your brain
- 18:53Speaker 7: because I can relate to that. There's little things that
- 18:56Speaker 7: I like that I'm like you know what. No one
- 18:58Speaker 7: else has to think that this is that rate, but
- 19:00Speaker 7: I do. So that's very cool that twin Peaks is
- 19:03Speaker 7: his thing. Yeah, that is so adorable.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I love this.
- 19:07Speaker 6: Oh, I sound like a super cool guy.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I love how mass secretly made about him, and we're
- 19:13Speaker 1: just beating you to it more and more.
- 19:14Speaker 2: In the.
- 19:17Speaker 3: No that that's why I'm on the show is too.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I gave a little bit of balance that someone that's
- 19:22Speaker 3: known in the longest, Come on.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I'm saving you for last, just for that how I mean,
- 19:29Speaker 1: Twin Peaks is inspiring to you.
- 19:33Speaker 2: So it was mentioned earlier that our honeymoon was twin Peaks.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Oh, it used to do with me as well.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I feel like I'm going to be sick.
- 19:44Speaker 2: So we went to the like outdoor filming location for
- 19:48Speaker 2: the Great Northern Hotel, which is like on top of
- 19:50Speaker 2: that waterfall. We like stayed at that hotel, We saw
- 19:53Speaker 2: like Rennette's Bridge, we had lunch at the diner, we
- 19:57Speaker 2: did the whole shebang. I would like to say, at
- 20:00Speaker 2: this point in time, at our honeymoon, I had not
- 20:03Speaker 2: seen Twin.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Peaks, so it's really fucking good.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I did end up liking it, so went back watched it.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I did genuinely love it. It does scratch a part
- 20:23Speaker 2: of my brain where I didn't get to be like
- 20:26Speaker 2: I was always a sciency person, so I never really
- 20:28Speaker 2: got to be artsy in any way. And so this
- 20:31Speaker 2: is like I'll watch Twin Peaks and I'll have like
- 20:34Speaker 2: a theory of like, oh yeah, this thematically connects to this,
- 20:37Speaker 2: connects to this, And as Matt said, there's no right answer, like,
- 20:40Speaker 2: there's no wrong answers as soon as the media is
- 20:43Speaker 2: out there, especially for David Lynch. So I'm always right,
- 20:48Speaker 2: get to be artsy and always right, and it's a
- 20:51Speaker 2: beautiful it's a beautiful situation. Also, there is a Colorado
- 20:58Speaker 2: or Rocky Mountain themed like who your style restaurant called
- 21:01Speaker 2: Twin Peaks, and I just have to throw that out there.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yeah, when I come to visit, I know we're getting dinner.
- 21:09Speaker 6: I was very disappointed, but then I was happy again.
- 21:14Speaker 1: You literally you had like you peaked and then kind
- 21:16Speaker 1: of hit a faley, then came back up again.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 6: I didn't got quite back up as high as if
- 21:20Speaker 6: it had been a restaurant natural.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Okay, that's a natural for human parties.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I was hoping we would go there. They could have
- 21:29Speaker 3: worn like the costumes from One Eyed Jack. So I
- 21:31Speaker 3: don't want to give away an answer to him questions,
- 21:33Speaker 3: but that would have at least achieved kind of both
- 21:36Speaker 3: detilation and ye Twin Peak ellation.
- 21:38Speaker 6: Definitely thinking of doing that business idea. Graham, we'll talk, Okay,
- 21:44Speaker 6: I've got your number. Just just real quick on the
- 21:48Speaker 6: honeymoon choice, because I realized kind of how bad it sounds.
- 21:50Speaker 6: The filming set is at least like a five star
- 21:53Speaker 6: hotel on top of a waterfall that has a little
- 21:55Speaker 6: gift shop in the corner that's related to Twin Peaks,
- 21:58Speaker 6: but the rest of it is not Twin Peaks coded.
- 22:00Speaker 6: I just want to say, I'm not the equivalent of
- 22:01Speaker 6: the like Star Wars fan who's like, let's stay at
- 22:03Speaker 6: the Skywalker Hotel.
- 22:05Speaker 3: You don't have to justify it anymore.
- 22:08Speaker 2: What happened?
- 22:09Speaker 3: You want?
- 22:11Speaker 2: It is a gorgeous hotel. He was like, like, we
- 22:14Speaker 2: could stay here, and I was like, that's the most
- 22:16Speaker 2: beautiful hotel I've ever seen in my life. Of course
- 22:18Speaker 2: I want to stay there, so I will. I will
- 22:21Speaker 2: corroborate it was a joyous time.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Well again, I'm loving the theme so far of the
- 22:27Speaker 1: Mad Twin Peak Love Graham, do you want to bring
- 22:29Speaker 1: us down real quick?
- 22:30Speaker 3: Well, it's about time you have someone do this properly,
- 22:34Speaker 3: not only because for my muse, I haven't got some tangential,
- 22:39Speaker 3: you know how I felt in a particular moment. I've
- 22:42Speaker 3: gone for a physical item, and I've chosen this partially
- 22:46Speaker 3: solved Rubik's Cube because it makes me think about twin Peaks.
- 22:52Speaker 3: There's elements of it where all the pieces fit together
- 22:54Speaker 3: nicely and it's beautiful and you can see the pan
- 22:57Speaker 3: and you can see what the designer, the creator was
- 22:59Speaker 3: going for. And then there's parts where it's just kind
- 23:02Speaker 3: of nothing and meaningless and it has no shape or form,
- 23:05Speaker 3: and no matter how I try, I can't see how
- 23:08Speaker 3: to put these pieces together. And yes, I know you
- 23:11Speaker 3: can go online and you can see people that have
- 23:14Speaker 3: told you how the pieces fit together. You can watch
- 23:16Speaker 3: your four hour deep dive, but that's not the same
- 23:19Speaker 3: as solving it yourself. And there'll be some people. There
- 23:22Speaker 3: may even be a person on the other team who
- 23:24Speaker 3: feels this way that will say that actually, no, it's
- 23:27Speaker 3: better that it's not solved. No, don't you see, don't
- 23:30Speaker 3: you see, that's what makes it so great. Liars, liars
- 23:34Speaker 3: and frauds. Things should be still assolved, things should be
- 23:38Speaker 3: complete in a one time And if you give a
- 23:40Speaker 3: guy twenty five years to fix his maxim mugbies and
- 23:43Speaker 3: then he still does in bloody give you an answer
- 23:46Speaker 3: the end.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Fucking I'm seeing what you're putting down and I love it.
- 23:53Speaker 1: It's a very different view on this, and I again
- 23:56Speaker 1: very lynching in the way that I can see exactly
- 23:58Speaker 1: what you mean. But I also so see like, oh, yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: he did it on purpose. I'm sorry.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's the worst part is all takes a
- 24:07Speaker 6: valid and the four Graham's take that it's I have
- 24:09Speaker 6: to recognize that valid.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 24:13Speaker 6: Well, let's not get too.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Well with our teams named our muses mused, it is
- 24:20Speaker 1: time to jump into round one. So round one is
- 24:29Speaker 1: a little bit of the more classic trivia we're all
- 24:31Speaker 1: used to in what I like to call a damn
- 24:34Speaker 1: fine round of trivia.
- 24:35Speaker 2: So I have here the menu with your.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Seven different cups of coffee. Are impossible to see them
- 24:40Speaker 1: on camera, so I will try to show off my
- 24:43Speaker 1: garbage art of my coffee cups. When the time comes
- 24:46Speaker 1: for those who are on Patreon seeing this, I love them.
- 24:49Speaker 1: But there are six questions, so each team will pick
- 24:51Speaker 1: three and answer a trivia question with one point each.
- 24:54Speaker 1: But then some of you, who can see what's happening
- 24:56Speaker 1: here might be counting the coffee cups going well, true,
- 24:59Speaker 1: there's not six up there? Seven?
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yes?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Okay, good audrinking counter.
- 25:03Speaker 2: How do they put you at seven?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah? Because I have underneath one of these cups just
- 25:08Speaker 1: a free bonus point if every team picks it.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Oh wow, I mean even if you both teams.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Score perfectly on this round, one of you's walking in
- 25:15Speaker 1: with an extra point just for picking the right cup.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Oh like, well, i'd luck games Master. I don't know
- 25:21Speaker 6: I feel how I feel about pointing handed out for
- 25:23Speaker 6: not achievement.
- 25:25Speaker 1: The achievement is picking the right cup of coffee. If
- 25:27Speaker 1: it's good in the for Indiana Jones, it's good enough
- 25:29Speaker 1: for us. Yes. I referred to one of these as
- 25:33Speaker 1: the holy Grail. I decided yes. So for the for
- 25:37Speaker 1: the listeners, we have the Lefty Cup, which is the
- 25:39Speaker 1: left handed coffee mug. We have the iHeart TP. You
- 25:42Speaker 1: could fill in the blanks yourself. There. We have the
- 25:45Speaker 1: man walking on fire obvious number one fan. No tea
- 25:51Speaker 1: because we're a coffee place only, although I know some
- 25:53Speaker 1: of your were tea drinkers. These days, we have the
- 25:55Speaker 1: coffee cup, coffee cup, and the pine Tree coffee cups.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I couldn't think of a last thing. I love it. So,
- 26:03Speaker 1: Matt and Jason, would you like to pick the first
- 26:05Speaker 1: coffee cup?
- 26:06Speaker 6: Well, look, Jason, I think maybe some of the trivia
- 26:09Speaker 6: and knowledge is going to come from me, So maybe
- 26:10Speaker 6: you could pick the coffee cup and you could potentially
- 26:13Speaker 6: score a point that way.
- 26:14Speaker 3: See, I think that I wouldn't take that.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Jason, would it began to choose the number one fan
- 26:20Speaker 1: coffee cup? I don't think so, I'm putting you on
- 26:23Speaker 1: the spot. Let's do number one fan is a question?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Your question is what was the original name for the
- 26:30Speaker 1: show before becoming Twin Peaks? And these are multiple choices
- 26:34Speaker 1: to make everyone's like a little easier, although I'm betting
- 26:35Speaker 1: Matt will long need any of these multile choice ones.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Is it?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Is it lone Peaks? But then they went back in
- 26:41Speaker 1: time and because they knocked over the tree and then
- 26:44Speaker 1: became twin Peaks ors whatever the fuckerence?
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:48Speaker 6: Yeah, why I love that.
- 26:51Speaker 2: That brings me such.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm going to read the three choices, but like, before
- 26:55Speaker 1: I even read the Matt, do you know do you
- 26:56Speaker 1: know what it is already?
- 26:58Speaker 6: I have a pretty good idea.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Alright, So your three options are Northwest Passage, Eastern Trail,
- 27:05Speaker 1: or Western Crossing.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Whoa, it's Northwest Passage. I'm not even look, I know
- 27:10Speaker 6: we're supposed to play this for laughs. I always encourage
- 27:12Speaker 6: people to have a little back and forth and chat
- 27:14Speaker 6: about things. First, it's Northwest passage. Final answer, that is
- 27:19Speaker 6: a point.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Wow, the number one fan cup right there? Yeah, you
- 27:25Speaker 1: you you did what you said.
- 27:26Speaker 3: We're going to see a different side of Matt here
- 27:28Speaker 3: because losing this game.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Your goal here is lose.
- 27:36Speaker 4: It.
- 27:36Speaker 6: If I lose this, I'll be in a funk for.
- 27:41Speaker 1: For the rest of the day. Year.
- 27:43Speaker 2: We have a busy two weeks. Also, I do want
- 27:47Speaker 2: to win.
- 27:48Speaker 1: On that topic, Odre and Graham, would you like to
- 27:51Speaker 1: pick a coffee cup?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Do you have a leaning? I was leaning towards coffee cup.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Coffee cup, Okay, I like the I like the coffee cup.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Let's go for that.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Is your free bonus points.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Oh shit, bullshit, that was the.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Logical place to put a put a coffee cup. Point
- 28:11Speaker 1: about coffee cups. Yeah, so you willed to be another
- 28:14Speaker 1: one now because you still need to get a question.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Okay, Graham, I will let you.
- 28:19Speaker 3: The other one I liked was the left handed.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I just drew the candle on the wrong side and
- 28:24Speaker 1: I was like, left handed, it is okay. Your question
- 28:29Speaker 1: is Richard Beemer, who plays Ben Horn, and Russ Handlin,
- 28:33Speaker 1: who plays doctor Jacoby, start together in a movie version
- 28:36Speaker 1: of a well known theater production. Which theater production was
- 28:39Speaker 1: it was it a Phantom of the opera The Guys
- 28:42Speaker 1: and Dolls or c west Side Story.
- 28:45Speaker 3: The that's annoying because each of them was like, oh, yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 3: that sounds right, and then the second one would come,
- 28:51Speaker 3: none of that sounds right. Yeah, And now I actually
- 28:53Speaker 3: do think West Side Story. So if you did just
- 28:56Speaker 3: kept listing things, I think inevitably I just got more
- 28:59Speaker 3: and more.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Intern Glinda and Alphaba they were in Rent, they were.
- 29:05Speaker 1: They were the guy and the doll.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But I don't know something about Russ tamblin West Side Story.
- 29:12Speaker 2: That yeah, let's donection. I have no idea, So any
- 29:16Speaker 2: inkling you have.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Is better than me. So we're taking West Side Story
- 29:20Speaker 1: in the Dark. Yes, yes, and that'd be another point
- 29:22Speaker 1: for the two of you. That's one question, two points already.
- 29:27Speaker 1: That's pretty impressive answer in that order. I thought a
- 29:33Speaker 1: lot about the order of all these. I'm really paranoid
- 29:36Speaker 1: about like metagaming, because I do all the time. Hi,
- 29:40Speaker 1: the Twin Porks. Would you like to pick another coffee cup?
- 29:42Speaker 1: You got four left?
- 29:44Speaker 7: Well, bonus point off the table. Yeah, just just grab,
- 29:47Speaker 7: just grab whatever you think you're gonna right here, I think, Okay,
- 29:50Speaker 7: what have we got left?
- 29:51Speaker 4: Rough?
- 29:52Speaker 1: We have the no t Pine trees, h Firewalk and
- 29:57Speaker 1: I heeart Twin Peaks.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Let's go with firewalk, Firewalk with may plays.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Oh, I will any day. Okay, your question is Hank
- 30:06Speaker 1: Jennings prison number is shared with a famous prisoner of cinema.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Which prisoner would that be? Their long answers, I apologize.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Is it two four six oh one the same as
- 30:16Speaker 1: Jean Valjean from lem Is Is it azy one four
- 30:19Speaker 1: four one? The same as Frank Morris from the Escape
- 30:22Speaker 1: from Alcatraz? Or is it nineteen thousand and two? The
- 30:25Speaker 1: same as John Coffee from The Green Mile? Ooh, you
- 30:28Speaker 1: can either just know which reference it is or just
- 30:31Speaker 1: know his prison number, both things I assumed you would
- 30:33Speaker 1: know randomly.
- 30:36Speaker 6: So I do think it's Jean Valjean. But I'm not
- 30:38Speaker 6: one hundred percent like the last one. But I do
- 30:42Speaker 6: think I remember it being like, oh, that's quite a
- 30:46Speaker 6: like a mora obvious reference. Yeah kind of thing.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Whereas like the last one, The Green Mile and
- 30:51Speaker 1: Twin Peaks would have released very close to each other.
- 30:54Speaker 6: I feel in the nineties, the book, the devella The
- 30:58Speaker 6: Green Mile would have been sooner, but you're right, the
- 31:00Speaker 6: movie would have been after. Yeah, Twin Peaks the series so.
- 31:04Speaker 7: And Alcatraz again easy. I feel like you would have
- 31:06Speaker 7: known if there were letters in said that one.
- 31:10Speaker 6: That one seems like it. I think it is Jean Valjean,
- 31:12Speaker 6: and it seems like it should be the Alcatraz one
- 31:14Speaker 6: because that's more like David Lynch's usual, like the twentieth
- 31:18Speaker 6: century early twentieth century American Secret programs and stuff like that.
- 31:23Speaker 6: But I do you think it Jean Valjean. I do
- 31:25Speaker 6: think I think it's two four six o one, so.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Going with the LAMS one. Yeah, and you would be correct. Nice.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I realized now I did not think to double check
- 31:33Speaker 1: when The Green Mile came out, and I did specify
- 31:35Speaker 1: a cinema release, So that was a really good catch
- 31:38Speaker 1: on your part. Also fun back between anything I could
- 31:43Speaker 1: look up. They never give John Coffee's a prison prisoner
- 31:46Speaker 1: ID number. I had to make it up.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Oh well, good, it was a very convincing set of numbers.
- 31:52Speaker 1: And you're thinking for the Alcatraz one was right where
- 31:54Speaker 1: I was going.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was a good It almost tricked
- 31:58Speaker 3: me up. I almost went for it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Oh, I'm glad. I'm glad I can almost trick you.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That's kind of my goal. All right, Twin Porks, Well,
- 32:05Speaker 1: my log dadis we have three cups left. I know
- 32:10Speaker 1: ta you're herding TP or a pine tree? That was Ryan,
- 32:13Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 32:13Speaker 2: How let's go pine tree?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Pine tree? Actually shouldn't be a pine treeho over the
- 32:20Speaker 1: damn tree that he asks about in the first.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Does it bliss fer?
- 32:24Speaker 6: That's what it is, and that's what the question is.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Now what.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Well, the question is completely unrelated. The show takes place
- 32:32Speaker 1: in Twin Peaks, Washington. What state was the show initially
- 32:36Speaker 1: written to take links in?
- 32:38Speaker 4: Oh?
- 32:38Speaker 1: Was it South Dakota, North Dakota or East Dakota.
- 32:48Speaker 3: No Graham knows the stats. I know, come on, I
- 32:52Speaker 3: know there's no North Dakota. Trick me.
- 32:57Speaker 1: As a Canadian, I'm loving this show.
- 33:02Speaker 2: My instinct would be South Dakota because South Dakota is
- 33:08Speaker 2: so prevalent in the return. Oh that's why I'm super
- 33:12Speaker 2: prevalent in the return. And so I feel like that's
- 33:15Speaker 2: like a David Lynch thing of like I wanted this
- 33:17Speaker 2: to be South I wanted this to be South Dakota.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I don't have a good David Lynch, especially not.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I love it.
- 33:28Speaker 2: I love it.
- 33:29Speaker 1: That's what I thought, Dakota totally. Unfortunately it's from the
- 33:35Speaker 1: fictional place of North Dakota.
- 33:39Speaker 6: I thought you were onto something that though, with it
- 33:42Speaker 6: so much of the return being in South Dakota. Yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 6: we forgot to put the Lynch twist on it upside down.
- 33:51Speaker 1: The entire reason for South Dakota is the opposite of
- 33:53Speaker 1: North Dakota, which is where it was supposed to be,
- 33:55Speaker 1: which is so.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Makes sense in the end. Okay, my little Porky's you
- 34:01Speaker 2: got two pick from left?
- 34:03Speaker 1: Okay, you have the no t or. I heart TP.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Do we hot tap?
- 34:08Speaker 1: I think so?
- 34:09Speaker 6: We hot tap?
- 34:11Speaker 1: Okay, then it's really just which question you're getting out
- 34:14Speaker 1: of your thing. There's no like surprise, there's another point
- 34:17Speaker 1: of the morning to tell you about. Oh, I love it.
- 34:19Speaker 1: It's a lynchient thing. That's honestly your question. Is Agent
- 34:24Speaker 1: Dale Cooper's middle name starts with a B, making his
- 34:27Speaker 1: initials debe Cooper the same as the intimates plane hijacker
- 34:29Speaker 1: who went missing? What is that middle name? Is it Braylan,
- 34:35Speaker 1: Bartholomew or Blathers? I do not know this WHOA.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I'm so proud of myself. I'm interested to see if
- 34:45Speaker 2: my instinct is correct because a name popped into my
- 34:48Speaker 2: head before you said the choices, really, and one of
- 34:51Speaker 2: the names that popped into my head is a choice.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Damn.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Let me just exercise my marital right of reading your mind.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Okay, this is fine, Jason, you read my mind. Yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I kind of like Blathers. That's the one.
- 35:14Speaker 6: I'm That's the one that I'm barely certain. It's just
- 35:18Speaker 6: an animal crossing reference. Wait, what are the what are
- 35:23Speaker 6: the other two?
- 35:24Speaker 2: Drew?
- 35:27Speaker 6: I think it's either Brayleen or Bartholomew. I do remember
- 35:31Speaker 6: the dB Cooper reference, but then I don't remember looking
- 35:35Speaker 6: up or committing to memory what his actual middle name is.
- 35:39Speaker 6: I think Bartholomew is the most.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like regular name, because Braylan's crazy. Who's name.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Shout out to Jason's inconsiderate.
- 35:54Speaker 6: I think it's a real name, right. It sounds like
- 35:55Speaker 6: one of those American names that Americans like to name
- 35:57Speaker 6: their kids.
- 35:58Speaker 1: People.
- 36:00Speaker 6: Oh, yes, a hunter if we're talking about anything crazy
- 36:03Speaker 6: in America, just to see you my mean white people. Yeah, letlow,
- 36:10Speaker 6: Let's do Bartholomew and.
- 36:12Speaker 1: You would be correct with bo Yes. Yes, Blathers was
- 36:17Speaker 1: a character from Animal Crossing because I can't believe any more.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Beatames at the mare follow you energy and Raylan's actually
- 36:24Speaker 1: a magic hard.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And also Blathers is an owl.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and so I love that. I figured Raylan's a
- 36:33Speaker 1: rabbit doesn't really help much, but I thought it worked too.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I like that.
- 36:38Speaker 1: We then come down to our final coffee cup cauld
- 36:40Speaker 1: I offer you guys a glass of not tea. I'd
- 36:42Speaker 1: love it thirty points. I'm kidding. And the final question
- 36:48Speaker 1: for this round is in episode fifteen of season two,
- 36:52Speaker 1: which is considered especially weird and was directed by a
- 36:55Speaker 1: guest director.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Who would that have been?
- 36:58Speaker 4: Was it?
- 36:59Speaker 1: Isabella Rossellini, Stanley Kubrick or Diane Keaton. Oh, I mean
- 37:05Speaker 1: was it Wasn't he married to Rosalini around? That's fine,
- 37:10Speaker 1: what that's.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I was going to say, I think so. I have
- 37:14Speaker 2: no fucking clue. I was just gonna I was pretending
- 37:16Speaker 2: that I knew anything.
- 37:18Speaker 3: He's been married a bunch of times. He probably has
- 37:20Speaker 3: been married to her.
- 37:22Speaker 2: He's also been married Toy Kubrick. That's a wedding I
- 37:27Speaker 2: want to attend.
- 37:29Speaker 3: It never happened. They filmed it in a studio.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I say, A A works for me. If you have
- 37:36Speaker 2: any indication that that may be true.
- 37:39Speaker 3: No indication that it may be I've seen next to
- 37:43Speaker 3: his name.
- 37:46Speaker 2: If you have any illusory truth of seeing their names together,
- 37:50Speaker 2: then it's better than what I have, which is nonsense.
- 37:54Speaker 2: So let's go.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yes, a A, you're going for Isabella Rossellini, and I'm
- 38:00Speaker 1: glad I tricked you. Really well it was Diane Keaton,
- 38:02Speaker 1: WHOA I know I would. I'm like, really, yeah, they're
- 38:07Speaker 1: definitely friends but not not married. Like, but I also
- 38:10Speaker 1: didn't know, like I know Keaton had a history of
- 38:13Speaker 1: directing Like that was still news to me.
- 38:15Speaker 6: Hell yeah, I think it's one of the cool things
- 38:17Speaker 6: about Sorry, it just this is no I'm a fan
- 38:19Speaker 6: of Twin Peaks. I'm allowed to do it.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Tell me.
- 38:21Speaker 6: It's just whenever he makes a friend in Hollywood and
- 38:24Speaker 6: they want to do a thing, it's like he's in
- 38:26Speaker 6: his own bubble of just like, oh yeah, sure you
- 38:28Speaker 6: can do that. You've always wanted to try edit, and
- 38:29Speaker 6: you can do edit, and you want to try right
- 38:31Speaker 6: and do write in. It's less about like working your way.
- 38:35Speaker 3: It'll make it'll make my product worse, and it'll make
- 38:38Speaker 3: the fans. You know, what the fans get to enjoy
- 38:40Speaker 3: will be significantly worse as ever results not about the fans.
- 38:45Speaker 1: And that thanks for letting me host. This episode brings
- 38:52Speaker 1: to the end of round one. I will ask the
- 38:54Speaker 1: log lady to ask the log to calculate the scores,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and those scores are the twin Porks on three and
- 39:00Speaker 1: the log Ved's on two. Up next, it's round two.
- 39:04Speaker 1: But first we need to earn some money and I'm
- 39:07Speaker 1: not risking it at one eye Jacks again, so let's
- 39:09Speaker 1: just run some ads. See you after this one. Welcome back,
- 39:17Speaker 1: and welcome to round two. This round will be called
- 39:20Speaker 1: Twin Pays as in it pays to reboot a franchise
- 39:23Speaker 1: and milk it for all it's worth. I have here
- 39:26Speaker 1: some prompts for each team. You will have sixty seconds
- 39:28Speaker 1: thirty seconds each to pitch me the best selling tactic,
- 39:31Speaker 1: with one teammate starting and the other one swapping into
- 39:34Speaker 1: the back half to complete the sales pitch to me.
- 39:38Speaker 1: We will mix things up. We will start this time
- 39:40Speaker 1: with the log deads. You'll both be getting the same
- 39:44Speaker 1: prompt to prompts, so you'll each have a few turns
- 39:46Speaker 1: for this. So promp number one. I will let you
- 39:49Speaker 1: quickly decide who's going first. Twin Peaks is going digital.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Let's hear how you would make a Twin Peaks video game.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Ooh, do you want to start or do you want
- 40:00Speaker 2: me to think?
- 40:01Speaker 3: I think you start and I'll try and bring the
- 40:05Speaker 3: pitch home.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I'll cut you off for thirty seconds and your timer
- 40:09Speaker 1: starts now.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I would love to pitch a video game in like
- 40:14Speaker 2: a genre swapping type of style. We've seen things like
- 40:18Speaker 2: It Takes Two was very popular. You've got to experience
- 40:21Speaker 2: a lot of different types of gameplay throughout this and
- 40:23Speaker 2: within the lynche in nature of this show, you can
- 40:26Speaker 2: switch a lot of genres very quickly. They don't necessarily
- 40:30Speaker 2: need to thoroughly make sense together, as long as they
- 40:33Speaker 2: kind of make sense within the overarching narrative. There's some
- 40:36Speaker 2: co op options with your doppel game, and.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Since we're switching genres. I think that one of the
- 40:43Speaker 3: best things about Twin Peaks is just how hard it
- 40:45Speaker 3: is to get into. You know, people love difficult games.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Dark Souls is a big deal. So we're thinking, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 3: every ten minutes, we're just going to switch the control scheme.
- 40:52Speaker 3: We're just going to change what controls do, what buttons
- 40:56Speaker 3: do what. Players will have to learn on the fly
- 40:58Speaker 3: when you guide, people will need that. People don't want
- 41:01Speaker 3: to know what's going on. So one day you'll be.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Doing, Oh my god, that that was. I won't give
- 41:14Speaker 1: points till the end, but I haven't.
- 41:16Speaker 4: That was.
- 41:17Speaker 1: You definitely hit the points I wanted to hit and
- 41:19Speaker 1: got some really good It was a great pickup from onto.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Yes, good, okay, thank you.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Twin Porks. I hope you already the same prompt who
- 41:28Speaker 1: will be starting?
- 41:29Speaker 6: Oh do you do you think you could stop this?
- 41:32Speaker 6: I have an idea I'll pick.
- 41:34Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, well you're starting now, Okay, so what I
- 41:38Speaker 7: know of twin peaks, murder, mystery, soap opera, lots of
- 41:41Speaker 7: things cut in between. One of the video game franchises
- 41:44Speaker 7: that have made a lot of marks on people is Persona,
- 41:46Speaker 7: where it's a life sim primarily for half the game,
- 41:49Speaker 7: but then it jumps and switches gameplay drastically afterwards. But
- 41:53Speaker 7: then there could be mini games that associated with it,
- 41:56Speaker 7: and also social relationships that are also within that space
- 42:00Speaker 7: during the life and moments.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Up. Isn't that, sir?
- 42:04Speaker 2: I mean it is right now, okay?
- 42:07Speaker 6: And then to build on that. I've never played Persona,
- 42:09Speaker 6: but I like the idea of it going around this
- 42:11Speaker 6: small town, increasing the levels of relationship with the individual people.
- 42:15Speaker 6: You can visit all of the locations, just like you
- 42:18Speaker 6: could in the video game Alan Wake, the ripped off
- 42:21Speaker 6: twin Everyone loved that, so I think we'll just we'll
- 42:25Speaker 6: do that, but we'll combine it with Alan Wake because
- 42:27Speaker 6: we know people already love that even though it's not
- 42:28Speaker 6: original at all. Yeah, and just explore all the locations,
- 42:33Speaker 6: get to visit everything, shine a torch on everything that's.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Fun, and that is your time. Oh wow, those are
- 42:39Speaker 1: two very good and very close ones. I am going
- 42:43Speaker 1: to go four points for the Twin Barks because there
- 42:46Speaker 1: is the like coppying of the game thing, which I
- 42:48Speaker 1: know would sell better, but in my heart, I can't
- 42:50Speaker 1: let you have uh. And then Graham's stupid idea of
- 42:53Speaker 1: switching is just so dumb but so good for this
- 42:58Speaker 1: five Okay.
- 43:01Speaker 7: It's so video game executive to be like you like
- 43:03Speaker 7: difficult games to master, let's switch up the game control
- 43:06Speaker 7: every ten minutes and just pissed you off.
- 43:09Speaker 1: There's no skill to master. We're just a little shit
- 43:12Speaker 1: and like somehow it would still make the GDQ circuit
- 43:15Speaker 1: as like a speed game like this.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely want to play their game more so Jason,
- 43:22Speaker 3: as you describing that, I was like, oh my god,
- 43:23Speaker 3: why I don't have this game?
- 43:25Speaker 1: I don't think instead of the shooting in the head,
- 43:27Speaker 1: it's leg whistles on fire to get their persona.
- 43:30Speaker 3: What I will say is there is a Alan Wake
- 43:33Speaker 3: is a great example, but you guys need to play deadly?
- 43:36Speaker 3: Is it deadly premonition? I want to say there's a
- 43:39Speaker 3: game which is a I'm talking a ninety rip off
- 43:42Speaker 3: of Twins.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 43:43Speaker 3: It's about an FBI agent who goes to a quiet
- 43:46Speaker 3: town to solve a murder and spends his time drinking
- 43:49Speaker 3: coffee and pop It's mega.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Okay, my teams will be switching the order you start in,
- 43:55Speaker 1: but we will be going to our second prompt. We
- 43:56Speaker 1: will do the same order. Give you guys a little
- 43:59Speaker 1: more time. So twin porks, you'll be starting again this round.
- 44:02Speaker 1: And your prompt is the show is old enough. Now
- 44:05Speaker 1: give me your best casting for a modern remake, as
- 44:07Speaker 1: well as something to surprise returning viewers.
- 44:11Speaker 6: Okay, so completely, I should probably start this one right.
- 44:17Speaker 1: And your time starts now. All right.
- 44:20Speaker 6: Well, he's the hot commodity and everything these days, so
- 44:23Speaker 6: our special agent is gonna be shallo.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Ma, we know it.
- 44:27Speaker 6: He's got the dark hair, he's got the slender look.
- 44:31Speaker 6: He's gonna be there.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:33Speaker 6: I can't think of any other actors off the top
- 44:35Speaker 6: of my head, or I just know that it's gonna
- 44:37Speaker 6: it's a modern remake, and so therefore it's gonna be worse,
- 44:40Speaker 6: but you're gonna enjoy it. It's gonna make more money
- 44:42Speaker 6: than ever before, even though it's gonna be worse, because
- 44:44Speaker 6: that's how things work in the modern times. And yeah,
- 44:47Speaker 6: it's it's gonna be. I can't even begin to entertain
- 44:50Speaker 6: this idea because of how bad.
- 44:55Speaker 7: I'll make it worse. Yeah, who's the Who's like spoiler?
- 45:00Speaker 7: Who's the bad Guy's Bob? Is about spoiler Bob? Okay
- 45:05Speaker 7: McLoughlin is Bob.
- 45:08Speaker 3: That's already the part of the return.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Let's again.
- 45:17Speaker 3: They do it all again?
- 45:18Speaker 1: That is time and honestly, that is like the best
- 45:21Speaker 1: point bonus I can imagine at the end there, Oh
- 45:25Speaker 1: my gosh, is that really the.
- 45:27Speaker 6: That is the like sees the cliffhanger ends with like
- 45:30Speaker 6: Bob taking control of special Agent Cooper, and then most
- 45:33Speaker 6: of the return is getting Cooper back to his actual body.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Oh wow, I so much about this. I love and
- 45:42Speaker 1: again not knowing that much further in even more fun. Yeah,
- 45:46Speaker 1: I'm the biggest Twin Peaks fan, is I knew that?
- 45:49Speaker 6: Also, you saying you're saying, oh, we'll just do it
- 45:52Speaker 6: all over again is the most Twin Peaks thing.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Because honestly, definitely a score right there. I knew that, right, thanks,
- 46:00Speaker 1: and I know now Okay, Well, my log ladies, the
- 46:04Speaker 1: same question to you, you are rebooting the show, what
- 46:06Speaker 1: is your twist for new viewers? And who are you
- 46:08Speaker 1: casting in this Your time starts now.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Well, I don't know how we build upon because all
- 46:14Speaker 3: I've got now in my head is Challow May.
- 46:15Speaker 2: So this is where we're going.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Challo May is playing every role, the roles he was
- 46:19Speaker 3: born to play. We've got shallow log Lady Agent Schallo
- 46:24Speaker 3: May Cooper, and he is playing Shay's out the character's names.
- 46:28Speaker 3: He is Timothy Challo May, but embodying these roles at
- 46:31Speaker 3: the same time. He's all of the book house boys,
- 46:33Speaker 3: He's all of the people at one eye, Jack's all
- 46:36Speaker 3: the brothel members. That's gonna be a really popular sat.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Okay. Timothy Shallomey is playing every single character except for one.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Timothy Balmer will be played by Florence pughing a Dune connection.
- 46:58Speaker 2: She's she's just incredible, and I just think that she
- 47:02Speaker 2: can capture that photo where it's Laura Palmer and you
- 47:06Speaker 2: know that she's like, she's lovely, but she's also fucking haunted.
- 47:11Speaker 2: So I think that if anybody can do that, if
- 47:13Speaker 2: anybody can do every single role, it's going to be
- 47:15Speaker 2: Timothy Shallomey. And if anybody can absolutely nail this one,
- 47:18Speaker 2: Florence Pugh that.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Is your tible you go extra second over. Wow.
- 47:23Speaker 7: I love the idea that if it's every if everyone
- 47:27Speaker 7: is Timothy Shallowy in the scenes where he has to
- 47:30Speaker 7: act against other people, they like Agent Smifett from The Matrix,
- 47:34Speaker 7: and they just get the fuckers who are in the
- 47:37Speaker 7: Timothy Shallo may look alike contest.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Anything like the Kid was the viral casting just skinny,
- 47:47Speaker 1: brunetted people. They just stand there.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Graham, I'm so glad you went a joke route, because
- 47:53Speaker 2: if I was going to go first, I was going
- 47:54Speaker 2: to say that Kyle McLachlan and Timothy Shallomey both played
- 47:59Speaker 2: poly tryatees. I was just going to cast it.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Oh. I was trying to figure out where Christopher Walken
- 48:05Speaker 3: fit in with all of.
- 48:06Speaker 2: This to have to be so absolutely, I would have
- 48:10Speaker 2: found it eventually. I would have gotten there. I would
- 48:14Speaker 2: have found it. So I'm so happy you went a
- 48:16Speaker 2: lull a joke answer.
- 48:18Speaker 3: He said to Mithy Shallamy, and that was it. Rain
- 48:20Speaker 3: was gone. Every other professional actor deleted it.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's his plan.
- 48:26Speaker 1: When when you first said Shalom, I was like, it
- 48:29Speaker 1: seems like the obvious choice. I don't love it. And
- 48:31Speaker 1: then as no it's hilarious. It's like retroacted to go
- 48:35Speaker 1: back and give you an extra points. I felt. I
- 48:37Speaker 1: was like, you gave them their whole bit.
- 48:40Speaker 6: And I definitely remember that they both played Paula triodes
- 48:43Speaker 6: and that was.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. So the end of the end of
- 48:48Speaker 1: that round, I'm giving you both five points. I could
- 48:51Speaker 1: not pick one over the other. There, they were both
- 48:52Speaker 1: so perfect. I really thought you two. I really thought
- 48:55Speaker 1: the twin Porks had this one to start and then
- 48:57Speaker 1: just I couldn't knock get five to old. It's chalam
- 49:06Speaker 1: is all the way down. Well, that is the end
- 49:09Speaker 1: of the round and I have not yet calculated the scores,
- 49:11Speaker 1: but I did have a weird dream where some guy
- 49:14Speaker 1: told me them. It was really weird. Anyways, the scores
- 49:16Speaker 1: are currently all tied up twelve to twelve.
- 49:19Speaker 6: Okay, not at all.
- 49:23Speaker 1: There you go. We're getting there and round three is next.
- 49:26Speaker 1: But first some ads for some very quiet curtain runners will.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Be right back.
- 49:33Speaker 6: Wow, that dog Rady wants to sell us some products.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Window Baby. Welcome back to round three and round three
- 49:45Speaker 1: is called fire Walk with Missy Elliott because we are
- 49:49Speaker 1: going you flip it, hurse it. What a joke. I'm
- 49:57Speaker 1: so proud of that one. Much like the creepy Dreams
- 50:01Speaker 1: of one Dale Cooper, you will need to communicate a
- 50:04Speaker 1: simple twin peaksteam message to your teammate, but you'll have
- 50:07Speaker 1: to do it backwards. Each player will have two rounds
- 50:11Speaker 1: and I will give you sixty seconds on the clock
- 50:13Speaker 1: to try to do this. Okay, So to start things off,
- 50:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna be sending the first prompt to Jason. I've decided. Yeah.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I knew that was coming when you said we're starting easiest. Yes,
- 50:25Speaker 1: And like I said, for anyone who knows the series,
- 50:28Speaker 1: these are lines that are from what I can tell,
- 50:31Speaker 1: well known in this series. So even if you think
- 50:33Speaker 1: you know what it is and you know the quote,
- 50:34Speaker 1: you might be able to figure it out. Jason, take
- 50:37Speaker 1: a second and prepare yourself. When you are ready, let
- 50:39Speaker 1: me know and I will hit start on the timer.
- 50:41Speaker 1: You have sixty seconds, which I think might be too much.
- 50:46Speaker 1: We'll find out this is really doing a brain thing.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'm good to go. Your time starts now. If at
- 50:57Speaker 1: my it's my if I if I I wonder if
- 51:07Speaker 1: I'm saying, oh, is it just? Is it?
- 51:11Speaker 6: I'm the FBI. Yeah, I am okay, Yeah, Hey, okay.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Okay, that's there's things people might know from the series.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Maybe it will work.
- 51:23Speaker 6: Can some like nineteen thirties lounge jazz underneath everyone's attempt
- 51:28Speaker 6: to I was going to say, I was going to yes,
- 51:31Speaker 6: because I think that would be great to hear, like
- 51:33Speaker 6: some Black Lodge music with with Jason saying, with everyone
- 51:36Speaker 6: saying yeah, things backwards.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I was gonna say, I think we I
- 51:39Speaker 1: think we usually pitched it even when we were talking
- 51:40Speaker 1: about it initially.
- 51:41Speaker 6: Oh nice, it was a great idea I had previously.
- 51:45Speaker 6: One of us dream it was you you're the host,

- 52:12Speaker 1: where it's like people might know the line, otherwise they're

- 55:08Speaker 1: with a horse one time, so close that would you
- 55:12Speaker 1: reveal the answer?
- 55:13Speaker 6: It is the iconic line from Pete there was a
- 55:16Speaker 6: fish in the percolator?
- 55:25Speaker 1: What is itator? The only reference I have to a
- 55:30Speaker 1: percolator is Missy Elliott was part of my game? What
- 55:36Speaker 1: even is a percolator? I know percolating?
- 55:39Speaker 3: Didn't David Bowie turn into a percolatory percolator by the
- 55:44Speaker 3: end of this series.
- 55:49Speaker 6: He's in the film, but he died by the time
- 55:52Speaker 6: the Twin Peaks the Return happened, so they turned his
- 55:54Speaker 6: character into a giant percolator slash teapot.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Watching this, I'm sending it over to you, Graham, and
- 56:03Speaker 1: when you are ready, you will let me know and
- 56:04Speaker 1: we will get your timer. I'm not going to be

- 56:43Speaker 2: I'm just gonna throw out like she's dead wrapped in plastic.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Whoa, It's incredible, that's incredible.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Wow, that's incredible. I just I was like, dead, what's
- 56:56Speaker 2: the line that has dead dead wrapped in plastic.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Wow, that's incredible.
- 57:01Speaker 6: That's great knowledge.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Thank you again. Like I said, the knowledge part will
- 57:05Speaker 1: play a lot here. Unfortunately, I'm sorry, Jason.
- 57:07Speaker 3: I thought that's amazing.
- 57:09Speaker 1: I thought Graham's pronunciation of the finish dub of twin peaks, I.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Think that helped.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I think the authentic kind of reverse sound.
- 57:21Speaker 1: I think there's a part of it too. There's like
- 57:23Speaker 1: a way to pronounce them backwards. You can almost kind
- 57:25Speaker 1: of hear things. On that note, Jason, here is your
- 57:28Speaker 1: next one. I hope you're ready for a longer one.
- 57:32Speaker 6: This round is amazing and it's such a shame it
- 57:33Speaker 6: won't work for any other fandom.
- 57:37Speaker 1: We'll find one. I don't know how we'll find when
- 57:40Speaker 1: they eventually reboot Labyrinth. It might work. Yes, one's interesting,
- 57:45Speaker 1: and then we can go back to David Bowie being
- 57:46Speaker 1: a percolator. Apparently that's the goblin with a massive crotch.
- 57:51Speaker 1: The percolator has a giant crotch at it. Parky describe
- 57:58Speaker 1: them well, Jason, when you're ready, you're starts now, miss
- 58:03Speaker 1: yet ton Era slow that's the uh huh slow slow

- 58:31Speaker 7: Yeah, this one's hard because it doesn't low lowell low lows.
- 58:35Speaker 7: You've got the right letters, just in the wrong force.
- 58:37Speaker 7: Give me some more, give me miss yet. Oh the
- 58:43Speaker 7: owls are not what they say.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go the clock. That's crazy, good stuff,
- 58:49Speaker 1: that's crazy. I'm so happy we're getting some of these.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I'm legitimately surprised. I'm so proud of you all.
- 58:56Speaker 3: We're killing because I got that one on the first read,
- 58:59Speaker 3: and now I'm not gonna get this next one. Maybe, like.
- 59:08Speaker 1: On the owl question, we got a goose. I will say,
- 59:13Speaker 1: like I said, I went for lines that like were
- 59:15Speaker 1: collectively chosen as like well known lines, so people who
- 59:18Speaker 1: knew the show get some, which does put Jason to
- 59:20Speaker 1: this advantage. Is why I gave you some more fun
- 59:23Speaker 1: ones to say. At least I'm the bilingual one here.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I'm sending over the next one to ultra.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Let me know.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Okay, ready, this is fine words now.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Skin sell noom a no in dim saw cow skin

- 1:00:17Speaker 8: Cow.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: It's a baby cow bouk walk midnight. It's something about
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: as big as moon there's a I don't know the
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Twin Peaks quote. Try again, let's try and try sound
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: this out.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Unfortunately at a time, So there is a time for that.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Do you know this one?
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: Is it as black as midnight on a in a
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: moonless sky?
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Jesus, black as mid on a moonless night. It's the
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: line that I.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Had that I got midnight and moonless, but I didn't
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: know more.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there was something about how mad you were the
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: word black backwards cow cow truly frustrated.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: Wait, at least you won't send it forwards in that
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: voice black.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I realized when I started that sentence, I was like, oh,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I have another one here for Matt Jason. I am
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: so sorry, but please have fun with this one.
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: We're gonna have We're gonna have fun with that a lot.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Matt.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: There it is. How long is it?
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: It's quite a long one. It's longer than the last one.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Okay, only rains in Spain when the
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: in Maine, Matt, I'm starting your timer.
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: Now, ow ou eat cheap Nassi Nassi x lambs four
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: m oh god, first I guess the first one?
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Oh you maya denying?
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: Did denying?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: He can read it and he's not sure.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Admire no, no.
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: But close right kind of letters in there. Yeah, I'll
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: just go from the beginning again, from the out out.
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: This is a fun word backwards. So I'm just gonna
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: keep saying it out out each.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: That is your time. There's really a moment even as
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I'm reading them or curing them for the first time,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: read aloud and like realizing because of this word really works,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: some do not. Did anyone figure this went out?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I didn't get.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: I just got you remind me o, yes, yeah it
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: the you remind me of a small Mexican chihuahua.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: And such.
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: I enjoyed saying chiuaha back That was depending.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: The reason why I picked that line. I was like, here,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: chuaha backwards will be really funny.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: Yeah, ow ow ea is Oh my gosh, this is
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: this is going to get that that as good as
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: I wanted it to.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Uh huh, oh my god, grand I got another one
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: coming up for you, and again we're getting the long ones.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Now this is the last few.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Okay, oh my god, what.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Is that the last one? So it's the longest one.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, you are I mean God, bless Audre.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Good luck god, bless us everyone.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I'm not sure I'm going to get it said in
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: sixty seconds.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Take some keywords, you know what, purely for the length
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: of it, I will add thirty seconds of the time,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: or just because it's a long sentence.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Like this long one, like the last protest.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Else nack cab a mock art, sit kill mug tart,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: rough sween, doug got heavy.

- 1:05:12Speaker 1: under the like one minute they were. They hadn't need congrats.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: I don't know how you leverage this newfound scale laundret
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: to find a way.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: This is a wild thing. I can write backwards now
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: in cursive you want to, Yes, you've said that for yeah,
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Like my mom my, sister and I we can all
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: write at least incursive. We can write backwards. What kind
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: of witch coffin is this?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: We got more of these questions. Let's do let's do more.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: I mean to write backwards right, cursive wit and backwards. Now, yeah, I.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Used to be I don't know if I how well
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: I can do it now now this is the podcast.
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: Just say you can do it.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I can do it.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: But I could see you doing that on the table.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: You can see on the table as you would talk,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: you would like sound out amazing.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah that was that was incredible. I am this
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: can stay in. I am shocked this game worked at
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: all that they're gonna either it would be a lot
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: of like awkward silence and you will figure things out,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: or like way too much banter and no answers. We
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: are like the Perpole round. I am so proud of
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: all of you.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Yes, that's my favorite game.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: This is so good.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Well, this does bring us to the end of round three.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: If you kindly fire walk with me this way to
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: the scores. Uh, dude, do you mind the fireplace? It's
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: it's fire. These stores are currently Twin Porks on fourteen
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: and the log Vanies on fifteen. Oh wow, that's closer
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: than I thought.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: They're in the late I know.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Is falling upon.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: He can step up and fill it for the next
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: round because we are about to get to the quick
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: fire round. But before we do that, we should talk prizes.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: This episode start. Our prize is confusion, just like a
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: lot to be confused about and not really knowing how
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: to feel about it. And that's okay. Yeah. Our winning
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: team will also receive an original signed script of fire
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Walk with Me, including actual fire out out. Wait No, sorry,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: did I say I script? I meant ashes, Yes, real
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: ashes from the fire rises. I honestly think you would
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: love those up. Next, like I said, is our crucial
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: quick fire round, but first we must play one final
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: set of ads. Hell, goddamn baby, No, not more ads.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Our final quick fire round will test your broader pop
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: culture knowledge, and it's called time to call in an expert.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Just like the Tan of Twin Peaks calls in an
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: FBI agent, time for us to call in our very
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: own pop culture officers to solve this murder mystery. In
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: this game, I will give our players clues to a
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: detective or agent from pop culture history. Those clues will
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: be in the style of Dale Cooper recording a memo
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: to Diane. Oh, and there is of course a classic
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: gate leaper Swiss. You need to offer that character a
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: piece of the best darn pie you've ever tasted. No
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: said line, get created with it. Just offer them some pie. Okay, Okay,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: it's quick fire, so we will buzz in by yelling
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: out our team names. Can we practice that real quick?
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Logg?
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I think log worker good call outs. You can do
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: twin porks one of the whole thing. I'm not going
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: to stalk you about, so I will give you an
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: example one real quick, Diane, can you get me that
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: detective from England with a funny hat and pipe. He's
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: always on about games. I think I heard perk Force
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: that time.
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: I mean it is England, so I feel like a
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: mince pie would be nice for you. Mister Sherlock Holmes.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Here you go. If that was a ramnud be a
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: point nice again. You can interrupt me at any point.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Are we ready? Park, Thank you for buzzing and tell
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: me you're ready. I will start the timer and we begin. Diane,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: if you can get me a detective who won't mind
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: the rainy weather, let them know I've got some cigars
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: already down to the station for them. Oh and just
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: one more thing, Pawk long that would be Matt first, Well,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: if you would like this lovely slice of cherry pie,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: mister Colombo, and that would be Colombo. Correct. Oh, Diane,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: this case is getting a bit out of hand. Too
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: many spooky elements. Can we get someone out there to
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: bring it all back down to earth? Literally? I'm sure
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: they're out there somewhere. I want to believe, at least Audra.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: I have two slices of pie for either Mulder or Scully,
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: whichever one of you wants to eat this pie.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I had to do this Scully, but I realized I
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: wasn't very clear, So I'll give it you forgetting both them.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Diana cross referenced the list of phobias, and I'm sure
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: we can cross out all three hundred and twelve of
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: them here in town. We can even accommodate their therapists
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: showing them here, you know, routine at all. Now, do
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: they actually need a monastery park? I'm gonna give them
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to mad I think you were quicker on that one.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Oh Okay, we said it at the same time where
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: I didn't. Yeh Yeah. From here, I'm oh shit, here
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: you go, monk, have a slice of old apple.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: Yeh monk.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Oh nice, Diane. I am aware it's their father's business,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: but they are the one we need for this case.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I'm sure they can skip a few classes to come
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: out and help. A flight from the fourth planet shouldn't
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: take too long, now, should it.
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: Oh, oh, pulk, Yes, I've got a lovely BlackBerry pie
- 1:10:54Speaker 6: for Veronica Mars.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, Diane.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I like the way this one talks, very unique, like
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: their crime solving capabilities. Now, if this gentleman sleuth isn't
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: too busy, knife, you got any onions made of inedible materials?
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: I think it was Jason on that one first. Well, okay,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I heard first.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: I have a lovely slice of cherry pie for Ben
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Wa Blanc.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Yes you do, and yes you do.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: One slice of pie. It's at the counter for you,
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: and he.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Will solve where every reading came from instantly. Diane, it
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: seems I need a hand here. I've got a broken
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: lock in and I've reached harm in a mysterious letter,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: all in this old clock. Maybe someone younger, man, I order.
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: Us up for your slice of beef pie. Nancy Drew,
- 1:11:55Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I was on the high of ben.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I was really hoping that will go to you. I'm sorry, Diane.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: I need the best detective in New York City. They
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: have to be cool, cool, cool, and preferably know a
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: lot about them turtles. That would be noiseg ram Uh,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: here's a meat pie for you, detecative Jake Peralta. Heck, yeah,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: it is nice, Diane. I think we need someone a
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: bit more fundamentally interconnected to all things on this one.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Maybe someone a little bit psychic will be handy, more
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: of a holistic approach. Maybe the best park Yes.
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: Orders up for a lovely slice of old Mama's crumble,
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: which is also a type of pie for Dirk. Gently Yes.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Is that the fact that Matt gott it makes the
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: most sense. But I'm glad someone whististic, Diane. I've never

- 1:13:02Speaker 1: alone one made of ink. Do you know anyone with
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: any experience in the matter. See if anyone in Tunetown

- 1:13:13Speaker 6: Oh, who are you?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I mean?
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: And I don't know what to take?
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Are we passing on this one? No one's got it long.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: It's not a detective, though, is he? Do you lose

- 1:13:50Speaker 1: rabbit who's murdered, That's why. But quick before the buzzer, Diane,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I need to share this coffee and pie with someone.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Though I know they prefer cookies normally, how they don't
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: get blue fur all over their food? I may never know.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: Why do I feel like they're trying to be.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Me park yoke for it?
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Mat is it?
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: This is way out there, but I'm just trying to
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: think of the format of the looping back to the thing.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: Is this the episode the character from the episode of
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: psych in the parody episode where they do twin Peaks.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: You're awfully close, but no long ladies want to get
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: stab at?
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: It?
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Is this an episode? This is a cookie monster from
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: a murder mystery episode of Sesame Street. Murder on Sesame Street.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: That is the buzzer, and you are that is the buzzer.

- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Cookie from Twin Peaks, the Sesame Street parody of.
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: That's the right wavelengths with parody. But oh my goodness,

- 1:15:22Speaker 1: mean I know where three of you are going to
