- 0:00Speaker 1: Look at you in a green shirt. You're shaking it up.
- 0:03Speaker 1: You're not in a dark Mickey Mouse hoodie. You're in
- 0:05Speaker 1: an audience. He's in a lime green Nike T shirt.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I'm shook. I'm shook, shooketh you shook it? What do
- 0:14Speaker 1: I do? I don't know. I've never seen you not
- 0:16Speaker 1: in a in one of three hoodies while we did
- 0:18Speaker 1: this podcast.
- 0:20Speaker 2: And look at you in a hoodie today?
- 0:22Speaker 1: What's going on? Why? How have you landed in this
- 0:25Speaker 1: lime green T shirt?
- 0:27Speaker 2: I decided to wear a T shirt today because, Uh,
- 0:31Speaker 2: I had a I had an interview earlier.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Go on what happened?
- 0:35Speaker 3: We talked about things, tell us everything well.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We talked about how you can stream extended family on
- 0:41Speaker 2: Peacock too much.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Oh, I see, this is a plug for extended family.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I wore a green T shirt just so you would
- 0:50Speaker 2: ask me, so I could plug extended family.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Who is the who is the interview with?
- 0:55Speaker 2: It was with? Uh? I don't know? It's me, dude.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Come on, you don't even remember who you did the
- 1:01Speaker 1: interview with.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I know who I did the interview with. I just
- 1:04Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Were you high during the interview?
- 1:07Speaker 2: I might have been.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Have you ever done an interview high and you think
- 1:11Speaker 1: to yourself self, I'm too high for this interview.
- 1:14Speaker 2: This interview, this might have been that interview.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I haven't smoked weed in years, but I when I
- 1:26Speaker 1: did smoke weed, The idea of being interviewed is not
- 1:29Speaker 1: what I would be interested in. But I think you're
- 1:32Speaker 1: a bureau You.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Just get really honest. All that happens is you get honest.
- 1:35Speaker 1: But I would get in my head like, oh did
- 1:37Speaker 1: I answer that right? Oh? I shouldn't have said that.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Did that sound weird? I would be so high.
- 1:42Speaker 2: For so much of a ship now that you know
- 1:44Speaker 2: it doesn't.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You're kind of like a double black diamond skier. But
- 1:48Speaker 1: with weed.
- 1:49Speaker 2: When it comes to marijuana, I'm I'm one of the best.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you and Snoop.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I have smoked weed with Snoop before.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Did you get extra mega high?
- 2:00Speaker 2: I had to stop. It's not that there was that
- 2:03Speaker 2: there was I couldn't. It was just too much smoke,
- 2:06Speaker 2: Like my throat was so dry and water was not
- 2:09Speaker 2: going to solve that problem at that moment.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm the only one of y'all that doesn't enjoy cannabis ativa.
- 2:15Speaker 4: That's that's fair. That is accurate statement.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That is accurate.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Bro, that's okay. I'm alright with us.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but nobody's trying to peer pressure you back into
- 2:26Speaker 2: your old ways. Bro, like the new you was cool.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'm alright, No, I don't, I don't. I don't miss
- 2:32Speaker 1: it at all, but uh, it sure is popular in
- 2:36Speaker 1: uh in Los Angeles.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And in New York City now and in New York
- 2:40Speaker 3: City as we.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Know, all right, should we get into the show, don't
- 2:43Speaker 1: watch you count a sentence Scrubs season nine about sure.
- 2:49Speaker 1: We made about a bunch of season nine episode four. Everybody,
- 3:15Speaker 1: what are we thinking? Daniel, you had some thoughts?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to hear Daniels.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I just you know, what I was saying to Zach
- 3:21Speaker 5: earlier is that, you know, I think, with a little
- 3:24Speaker 5: distance and a little space and this whole going into
- 3:28Speaker 5: season nine with the most open mind possible, it's not
- 3:31Speaker 5: that bad. It's really not It's really enjoyable. And I think,
- 3:34Speaker 5: you know, there's the reminiscent part of it that's seeing
- 3:37Speaker 5: you guys, and there's still a lot of gaffes. And
- 3:40Speaker 5: I will say, maybe when we lose a major part
- 3:42Speaker 5: of this formula, I'll feel a little differently, but while
- 3:45Speaker 5: we're still seeing Turk and JD having a good time.
- 3:49Speaker 5: It's really it's a fun show, and I think comparison
- 3:53Speaker 5: is the thief of joy in this scenario where it's
- 3:55Speaker 5: like you want to say it's bad because you're strictly
- 3:58Speaker 5: comparing it to the thing you had before. But I
- 4:01Speaker 5: think it's fun. It's still fun.
- 4:03Speaker 4: It's definitely still fun. As much as I am enjoying
- 4:06Speaker 4: the fun parts, some of the show feels ungrounded to me.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Specifically in this episode the fantasies, I was like, I
- 4:14Speaker 4: don't know who's fantasy this, so we were just randomly cutting fantasy.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Everyone fantasize.
- 4:19Speaker 4: I think, mm hmm, it's a weird rule. I don't
- 4:22Speaker 4: know how I feel about it.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I just feel like I gravitated towards the JD
- 4:26Speaker 2: Turk and Cock stuff more than I gravitated towards the interns.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And then at one point in the show, j D
- 4:33Speaker 2: says to the interns the plot of the exact show
- 4:38Speaker 2: that this is a ripoff of you know what I mean,
- 4:40Speaker 2: And it was.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Like the ripoffs were inspired by I think.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Like three versions of it. We've done this like several times.
- 4:48Speaker 2: It's like where we say goodbye to a special person,
- 4:52Speaker 2: but then they didn't even make But then they got
- 4:54Speaker 2: like real hokey and wrapped up really quick.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And it wasn't moving. I mean, we know that. When
- 4:59Speaker 1: we did that with Glenn Turn it was like one
- 5:00Speaker 1: of the best Scrubs episodes ever.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But at the end of this, this dude they found
- 5:05Speaker 2: the guys.
- 5:06Speaker 1: His war buddies. Yeah, in like a half hour.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And yeah, get the fuck out of here. Man, you've
- 5:12Speaker 2: never seen them before. They obviously lived close.
- 5:17Speaker 1: They live on the block, right And wait, you're telling
- 5:23Speaker 1: me that Cole went to his party and like drank
- 5:27Speaker 1: and then came back and changed and got in.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Scrubs completely unh Yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 1: By the way, though, I've just say us in those
- 5:35Speaker 1: outfits dancing the cad even before the.
- 5:40Speaker 2: All of it, all of its online freaking and and
- 5:45Speaker 2: and you know that's that was a great part of it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: But the best part of the show is fucking Sam
- 5:50Speaker 2: Lloyd say Goodbye the Lake.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Great. Yeah, they were getting ahead of ourselves. Let's start
- 5:55Speaker 1: at the beginning to talk.
- 5:57Speaker 2: About I'm already ready to go five, six, seven, eight.
- 6:00Speaker 1: No, come on, we do a rewatch podcast Donald until
- 6:05Speaker 1: we're done doing rewatch it.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm in it. I'm in it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: The people want to know what the four of us think,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and we are here to serve them. We are here
- 6:12Speaker 1: to service millions of people.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Donald Lucy in the beginning and have the show.
- 6:21Speaker 1: He went right by my servicing millions.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Of people because I would write to spitting and I
- 6:25Speaker 2: would write to spitting.
- 6:26Speaker 1: All right, he is spinning in Lucy's face, by the way, not.
- 6:29Speaker 3: A fantasy, Not a fantasy.
- 6:31Speaker 1: In reality, he's screaming in her face and spitting in
- 6:35Speaker 1: her face.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And not a fantasy. J D comes to school in
- 6:43Speaker 2: leg warmers, well not only leg warmers, like brown, like
- 6:47Speaker 2: Debbie Allen style.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And I will tell you when I performed the fame
- 6:50Speaker 1: monologue for Debbie Allens, I tell you, well, just I'll
- 6:57Speaker 1: do it quickly for those that have heard it on
- 6:59Speaker 1: the podcast. But I I was at a restaurant and
- 7:01Speaker 1: Debbie Allen and we established it was it's the creator
- 7:05Speaker 1: of Danel. It was Lee Daniels and they were at
- 7:09Speaker 1: a table behind us, and Lee Daniels tapped my shoulder
- 7:13Speaker 1: and said, have you ever met Debbie Allen? And I
- 7:16Speaker 1: instantly just stood up out of respect for her. And
- 7:19Speaker 1: she smiled at me and I said, oh, my goodness, Royalty,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I loved fame growing up. It's such an honor to
- 7:26Speaker 1: meet you. And she said, oh, you're sweet, thank you.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And I said I could do the monologue. She's like,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you don't know the monologue. And I just went into it,
- 7:35Speaker 1: by the way, totally sober, middle of the day, packed restaurant.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I just like took my stance and I was like,
- 7:41Speaker 1: you want fame. And I went into the whole thing.
- 7:44Speaker 2: You got dreams, you want fame.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And she clapped at the end. When I nailed the end,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I stuck the landing in front of Debbie Allen Donalds.
- 7:54Speaker 2: And you think of Debbie Allen. She was in that
- 7:56Speaker 2: movie that I was talking about earlier next day. She
- 7:59Speaker 2: played my mom.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Really, that's it and all our stories come full circle anyway.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So yes, JD not in a fantasy wearing leg warmers,
- 8:07Speaker 1: carrying a stick, making the kids sit on the floor.
- 8:13Speaker 1: He really wants to be He wants to be Debbie
- 8:16Speaker 1: Allen in fame. What is this all right? So then
- 8:20Speaker 1: I wrote in my notes with Johnny se was like,
- 8:22Speaker 1: is that a fantasy? And then I realized it was not.
- 8:25Speaker 2: No, because that's how you and Lucy passed the torch.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Later on, Oh yes, we sort of dance by each
- 8:32Speaker 1: other and the voiceover gets tossed to me. Yes, they
- 8:36Speaker 1: throw Lucy under a bus. That was a fantasy. I
- 8:39Speaker 1: don't know whose fan. That's my third note. They throw
- 8:44Speaker 1: Lucy under the bus. They threw a mannekin under a
- 8:49Speaker 1: You don't remember that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I do remember that. I thought that came after the
- 8:52Speaker 2: the boots. I can't do this on that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I don't hate it. By the way, I kind of
- 8:59Speaker 1: like the beat. It's like a nice remix. It also
- 9:02Speaker 1: starts on your beautiful face. It's gotta know it's the
- 9:09Speaker 1: scrub's remix.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 9:11Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Okay, So
- 9:22Speaker 1: Lucy says, if you want to keep sleeping with me,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you better have my back to call yes, and then
- 9:32Speaker 1: he's like, you have so many.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Rules now, brob.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember those T shirts.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I think I have one to question mark. That means
- 9:46Speaker 2: we don't even know when it ends.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't even know when it ends. You're like,
- 9:52Speaker 1: where's mine? I'm wearing the.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I I love it. Where's Mine?
- 10:00Speaker 1: That was funny. Now we're so geeked. Part of the
- 10:03Speaker 1: theme of this episode for us is that we're getting older,
- 10:07Speaker 1: but we're in denial about us getting older. We're still
- 10:09Speaker 1: trying to be little kids. We're still super stoked to
- 10:13Speaker 1: go out on the town. Our our wives are and
- 10:17Speaker 1: we're going to party one eight pm to question Mark.
- 10:21Speaker 1: When was that there was somebody's birthday party? And back
- 10:24Speaker 1: in the day old scrubs where it was eight pm
- 10:27Speaker 1: until upside Down question Mark, it.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Was a.
- 10:32Speaker 1: It was it was it was a Spanish themed party.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I remember, I forgot what it was, but it was
- 10:37Speaker 1: eight pm until upside Down question Mark.
- 10:40Speaker 2: L Lane in.
- 10:43Speaker 1: All right, so bro palooza, and they're all excited, they're geeked.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And but then Cox tells Denise that she's got to
- 10:52Speaker 1: put get her interns under control because their interns they're
- 10:55Speaker 1: just they're not doing anything correctly. They don't feel like
- 10:59Speaker 1: they were a good.
- 11:01Speaker 2: No, they're just they're just unruly. They're fighting and they're
- 11:04Speaker 2: not a team yet. And uh and and he's witnessing it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: He witnessed it there when you're you're absolutely right when
- 11:13Speaker 2: they throw her under the bus that was in his
- 11:16Speaker 2: class and everything, and he's like dude, you got to
- 11:18Speaker 2: get these cats under control. They're wrecking havoc.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're also stealing his donut. He didn't like that.
- 11:23Speaker 1: They're fighting over his donut.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And so she pawns it off onto her boyfriend.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Right, but he doesn't have it for very long, right,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I forgot if he doesn't know.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Because he tries. She tries to get out of it,
- 11:38Speaker 2: and Cocks is like, get the fuck no, and we're like,
- 11:40Speaker 2: get the fuck out of here. You can't do that shit.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Is it us? Or is it I forgot already?
- 11:46Speaker 1: I forgot, and I can't blame it on weed. Joelle,
- 11:48Speaker 1: do you remember why does she tries to hand it
- 11:50Speaker 1: off to Drew and then Drew somehow flips it by
- 11:53Speaker 1: Oh maybe it's me with the cheese.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yes, it is that she is. That's right, it is us, right,
- 12:01Speaker 2: So it flips and now she's she's like, all right, look,
- 12:04Speaker 2: so you guys now have to stay in the er
- 12:07Speaker 2: tonight and take down the note ahead of it, take
- 12:12Speaker 2: down the.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Notes with final interviews, right.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The final interviews of these people that are dying.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Right. It's as though the writers said, you know, it
- 12:21Speaker 1: was a really famous, beloved episode of scrub.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Comes on, bro, don't do it, don't do it?
- 12:28Speaker 1: Well, it is kind of that, I mean, it's I'm
- 12:31Speaker 1: not missing anyone. I'm just saying that this This is
- 12:34Speaker 1: definitely inspired by a very beloved episode.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Of Scrubs the very year before, the season before, right,
- 12:40Speaker 2: it wasn't too distant, No, not that distant.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Cole's throwing a party and they all want to go
- 12:47Speaker 1: to the party, and then Denise throws at the dumb
- 12:50Speaker 1: you're not going anywhere. All done or none done. You're
- 12:53Speaker 1: not going anywhere until you guys take the final interviews
- 12:57Speaker 1: of four patients that are likely going to pass away tonight. Right,
- 13:02Speaker 1: and then Lucy references her pubic mons by saying it's
- 13:07Speaker 1: like the friggin' Amazon down.
- 13:10Speaker 2: There because she hasn't shaved, it.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Has maintained her moms.
- 13:17Speaker 2: She wants, she wants to she wants to get out.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And I know it was so weird that she I know,
- 13:23Speaker 1: she makes a joke about saying, like, gosh, I'm so awkward,
- 13:26Speaker 1: but like she announces to the group that her pubic
- 13:29Speaker 1: care is like the Amazon.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I mean word all right, she does, Yes, that that
- 13:39Speaker 2: is accurate statement.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yes, Drew, this was weird. He this wasn't thought out
- 13:46Speaker 1: he had Why is he in a dinosaur costume in prison?
- 13:49Speaker 2: He's working, this is what he's doing for uh, for
- 13:53Speaker 2: community service?
- 13:55Speaker 1: But why is that ken you serve? Why would they
- 13:56Speaker 1: want a guy just as Come on, bro, No, I
- 14:01Speaker 1: just didn't understand the joke, but.
- 14:04Speaker 2: You're trying to explain it. You're trying the.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Joke should have some sort of basic logic, I.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Know, but you're trying to dissect it now, and there's
- 14:10Speaker 2: no way to dissect the joke.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I just want to talk about in the world of
- 14:13Speaker 1: the show, he got community service and he dressed up
- 14:17Speaker 1: like a dinosaur because he thought he was going to
- 14:20Speaker 1: the community service was entertaining children, but ultimately was entertaining prisoners.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Why would the prisoners ask the prison why would the
- 14:27Speaker 1: prisoners at request or be assigned a man in a
- 14:31Speaker 1: dinosaur costume?
- 14:33Speaker 2: It's no logic here at all.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And then he said that the costume was flammable, meaning
- 14:39Speaker 1: they set him on fire at the prison.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yes, they tortured him, Yes, horrifying.
- 14:47Speaker 2: No, it's not horrifying, Daniel, it's it's bullshit, Like, come on,
- 14:51Speaker 2: that's what it is. Horrorfi I get the fuck out
- 14:55Speaker 2: of here. This is what it is.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I didn't understand that at all. It was a very
- 14:58Speaker 1: quick fantasy. I think at the ti time they were like,
- 15:00Speaker 1: this doesn't work, but we shot it so quick, throwing
- 15:02Speaker 1: it in and then get out quick. All right. So
- 15:05Speaker 1: Ted is quitting and Ted is finally going to travel
- 15:09Speaker 1: the world with his wife Gooch, and they're going to
- 15:13Speaker 1: do a tour of the country. And they've written a
- 15:16Speaker 1: song for every state.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yep, so cute.
- 15:19Speaker 1: They're very She's so cute. They're both so adorable together.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Although I have to say, scrubs Wiki says Gouc and
- 15:28Speaker 1: Ted do not sing the state songs in alphabetical order,
- 15:30Speaker 1: since Alaska and Arizona come before Arkansas. Oh my gosh,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I mean, how could they have left that? How could
- 15:39Speaker 1: they that happen? Do you think that they shot those
- 15:43Speaker 1: other ones and then they just weren't as funny and
- 15:45Speaker 1: so they decided to start on Arkansas. How could they
- 15:47Speaker 1: get the alphabetical order wrong.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Maybe they'd have anything funny to say about Alaska.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They're like, just go to anyone who's writing those little jokes.
- 15:56Speaker 1: There's plenty of funny in Alaska.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It's cold, in Alaska.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you can see Russure from your house. They start
- 16:08Speaker 1: singing and they're very adorable. And then Cox the elevator
- 16:12Speaker 1: gets stuck and Cox cannot handle it, so he climbs
- 16:15Speaker 1: through the emergency hatch of the elevator to escape their singing.
- 16:20Speaker 4: This is why I lost it. That's what's happening.
- 16:23Speaker 1: What was going on.
- 16:26Speaker 4: It was so confusing, this kind of looney tune stuff.
- 16:30Speaker 1: It's weird. Yeah, and by the way, he doesn't really
- 16:34Speaker 1: it doesn't take much for him to escape the elevator.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He like does like David Blaine on that ship. He's
- 16:38Speaker 1: out of it.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Okay, So I did. I thought that was actually on
- 16:44Speaker 2: par for a Scrubs joke back in the day, Like
- 16:47Speaker 2: that would be the most obscure joke in an episode.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Him doing that, know what, I can't handle it. I'm out,
- 16:54Speaker 2: and then climbing out, but him falling through the ceiling,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and then that's not addressing it. Like there's a bunch
- 16:59Speaker 2: of things that you know what I mean.
- 17:00Speaker 1: It's all cartoony, And I have to say, to give
- 17:03Speaker 1: myself some criticism, I think that I was playing I
- 17:08Speaker 1: just leaned into the silliest side of JD. Everything I'm
- 17:12Speaker 1: doing in this season so far, to me, except for that,
- 17:15Speaker 1: like maybe a one or I just feel like I'm
- 17:18Speaker 1: like the broadest one. I'm not playing anything straight. And
- 17:22Speaker 1: I know I have a lot of broad stuff to
- 17:24Speaker 1: be saying, but I'm watching myself and it all feels
- 17:27Speaker 1: like I lost the plot. I'm not literally and figuredly
- 17:30Speaker 1: I lost.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I feel the exact same way, Bro, and I'm I'm
- 17:34Speaker 2: I'm glad you pointed at yourself, but I feel like,
- 17:38Speaker 2: as a whole, the show itself has lost the plot.
- 17:42Speaker 1: No, but I'm saying that. I'm even when I watch
- 17:46Speaker 1: Michael Moseley, I go, Okay, well he's a great granted
- 17:49Speaker 1: and I've said this last episode, he's not called upon
- 17:52Speaker 1: to do the super silly stuff that JD is doing,
- 17:55Speaker 1: But I'm like he's at least being a good actor.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He's playing it straight, he's doing the jokes when they
- 17:59Speaker 1: come and I watch myself and I'm going, wow, I
- 18:02Speaker 1: just kind of I've leaned all into super silly humor. Obviously,
- 18:07Speaker 1: that's what some of most of the stuff they're giving me.
- 18:09Speaker 1: JD's there to be as silly as JD can be.
- 18:12Speaker 1: But to me, I'm not. I'm not super impressed with
- 18:14Speaker 1: my acting so far this season.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I don't think it's Shakespeare though, So all.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Right, well, I'm just saying in season one through eight,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I think I found a nice balance.
- 18:25Speaker 2: But that was Shakespeare. That's what I'm trying to tell you,
- 18:27Speaker 2: that Shakespeare.
- 18:29Speaker 1: All right, So Cox drops through the ceiling. We learned
- 18:33Speaker 1: that phase one of our of our bromance bro Poloosa
- 18:36Speaker 1: is going to be case of dias. That's why we
- 18:38Speaker 1: eventually see JD with a giant sleeve of cheese. We
- 18:44Speaker 1: say that we're attached by fun. Now JD runs through
- 18:49Speaker 1: all the themes. When he finds out there's a party,
- 18:51Speaker 1: Cox tells him there's a party. JD runs through many themes.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I thought you must be excited that he mentioned Star.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Wars well, that he mentioned Star Wars twice.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm at the point of being your wife that
- 19:00Speaker 1: when I hear the word star Wars, I get excited.
- 19:03Speaker 1: You were like, I love that, Donald love this part.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'm like, because they said the word star Wars, Donald's
- 19:10Speaker 1: love this. That's where we're at.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I have a Star Wars question for Donald. Do you
- 19:17Speaker 4: think JD predicted Canto bite? When he called for a
- 19:20Speaker 4: murder mystery set in the Raring twenties, A Star Wars
- 19:23Speaker 4: murder mystery said in the Raring twenties?
- 19:26Speaker 2: Is that what canto Bite is?
- 19:28Speaker 4: I mean, Cantobyte is a nineteen twenties casino style set
- 19:32Speaker 4: up where we don't explicitly see murder, but we do
- 19:36Speaker 4: see a lot of corruption. I'm just saying. When JD
- 19:39Speaker 4: spits us out, I was like, Canto bite.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Maybe what's canto bite?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Canto Bite is a planet where a se casino on
- 19:46Speaker 2: a plane, where Thin and Rose ride some crazy ass
- 19:53Speaker 2: horse like cats and.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I remember that? Is that last Jedi?
- 19:59Speaker 2: Correct? Yes, yeah, I.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Remember being like when I watched that, going what the
- 20:03Speaker 1: hell is this so stupid?
- 20:04Speaker 5: Why is everybody wearing tuxes? It's an alien planet where
- 20:08Speaker 5: all of a sudden there's these European conventions.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Right, it's a casino, but everybody got on the tux aliens.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Look at the can of worms. I've Openish.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Talks is universal? Universal? Is right?
- 20:22Speaker 2: I don't know, we've never seen a TUXI knowing Star
- 20:24Speaker 2: Wars ever until can't they even got the rows and
- 20:28Speaker 2: ship and this ship come on?
- 20:30Speaker 1: But all Right're gonna take quick break, and when we
- 20:32Speaker 1: come back. I want to ask you guys about that
- 20:34Speaker 1: new Star Wars trailer I've.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Been we're doing this, We'll be right, We're gonna be
- 20:41Speaker 2: right back.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Don't worry, audience. I'm gonna keep I'm gonna make them
- 20:44Speaker 1: keep it brief and to get into I'm what you're
- 21:01Speaker 1: trying to do? All right? What is this new show?
- 21:05Speaker 1: I heard? I heard the trailer is very popular, like Goodlight, Goodlight.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I think it's just Acolyte.
- 21:10Speaker 2: There's no Accoltell's it Acolyte Goodlight?
- 21:19Speaker 1: What's the Acolyte?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Like?
- 21:22Speaker 4: Donald?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Do you want to take this one and brief? Please?
- 21:25Speaker 1: We don't need a whole we don't we need the
- 21:26Speaker 1: cliff notes.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Please.
- 21:27Speaker 2: This takes place. So I've been shipping on this little
- 21:30Speaker 2: thing called the High Republic, and everybody's like, no, it's
- 21:33Speaker 2: fucking really good Star Wars Man. You should get into
- 21:35Speaker 2: it at Stars. And it takes place apparently we're supposed
- 21:39Speaker 2: to take place a thousand years, but this takes place
- 21:42Speaker 2: like one hundred years before the events.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Oh it's a long raine. This is toward the end of.
- 21:47Speaker 2: That era, right, But this takes place one hundred years
- 21:49Speaker 2: before the Phantom Menace, and so the characters that are in,
- 21:54Speaker 2: the characters that could possibly be in it, are like
- 21:57Speaker 2: out of this world anyway. This is the right of
- 22:00Speaker 2: the Sith under the Jedi's noses and them not knowing.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So all of these people in this in this show
- 22:06Speaker 2: that you're watching, all these people gotta die. All of
- 22:10Speaker 2: them gotta die, all of them gotta die. I don't know.
- 22:14Speaker 2: But just for one line in the Phantom Menace alone,
- 22:18Speaker 2: they all got to die. That's impossible. The Sith have
- 22:20Speaker 2: been extinct for over a thousand years. Just for that alone,
- 22:25Speaker 2: they all gotta die.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Something tells me there's going to be some syths that
- 22:29Speaker 1: weren't accounted for.
- 22:31Speaker 2: No, they're talking. I'm not talking about the Siths that
- 22:33Speaker 2: gotta die. All the Jedi that encounter said Acolyte.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Said gotta die, all right, And there's no said Acolyte.
- 22:44Speaker 1: There's no there's no other famous actors we know that
- 22:47Speaker 1: are in it or is all new?
- 22:48Speaker 4: Folks, I'm on the Stenberg, isn't it. She's fabulous. You
- 22:53Speaker 4: might know her from me, Yeah, she's she's a fabulous actress. Also,
- 22:58Speaker 4: the girl from the movie The Matrix yes, yes, Carrie
- 23:05Speaker 4: on Moss is also in this movie, and she's fabulous
- 23:07Speaker 4: and we're very excited. But the girl from Wolverine who
- 23:09Speaker 4: played X twenty three, who was really great, Logan, that's
- 23:14Speaker 4: the movie.
- 23:14Speaker 2: She's out.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Yeah she plays the alien with the little horns on
- 23:18Speaker 4: her head.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Okay, I did not know that.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yeah, she's like a lead character too. I'm really excited.
- 23:21Speaker 4: We haven't seen her for like seventy years.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Die, Okay, she's okay, we'll see.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I will listen. I heard the trailer broke broke some
- 23:31Speaker 1: sort of internet interweb record.
- 23:33Speaker 2: No Star Wars trailer has been viewed this many times ever.
- 23:37Speaker 4: It looks really bomb. It's interesting because they've decided to
- 23:39Speaker 4: use martial arts as a central starting point for the fights,
- 23:42Speaker 4: as opposed to before you're more into sword fighting, like
- 23:45Speaker 4: a classic fencing style of sword fighting, and then they
- 23:48Speaker 4: moved to broad swords in the new movies. But this
- 23:49Speaker 4: is all martial arts based and it looks killer. That's
- 23:53Speaker 4: look amazing.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Interesting, Like all of the geeks for the High Republic
- 23:58Speaker 2: are really losing their mind because in the trailer they
- 24:01Speaker 2: show this wookie who uh, the gentleman who played Chewbacca
- 24:06Speaker 2: in the original or not an original, but in the
- 24:11Speaker 2: sequel trilogies, uh is playing this Wookie Jedi and it's rare.
- 24:18Speaker 2: We haven't seen that in live action before, and so
- 24:20Speaker 2: people are really excited about that. There are a lot
- 24:23Speaker 2: of really.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Clear excited to see the guy in the Chewbacca suit.
- 24:27Speaker 4: There's I see him play a different type of Wookie.
- 24:29Speaker 4: We've never a Wookie Jedi is extremely.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Rare, and we get I don't think I think there's
- 24:34Speaker 2: two versions of three versions of it that I know.
- 24:36Speaker 2: There was one in a novel back in the day
- 24:38Speaker 2: that I read with the kids of Hans Solo and
- 24:41Speaker 2: Princess Leah. They were best friends with this Wookie who
- 24:44Speaker 2: was a Jedi. And then in the Clone Wars and stuff,
- 24:48Speaker 2: there was this there was Yeah, there was a Padawan Wookie.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Are not that we're aware, we're aware of you joke around,
- 24:58Speaker 2: but I'd like to see that ship. I'd like to
- 25:01Speaker 2: see a Jawa Jedi. I actually like to see a
- 25:03Speaker 2: Jawa Jedi and e Walk Jedi. Things that are considered primitive,
- 25:10Speaker 2: I would love to see once they're enhanced by the Force,
- 25:13Speaker 2: what they become.
- 25:14Speaker 1: What about Java, a Java Jedi.
- 25:20Speaker 2: That'd be interesting because he wouldn't know he was a
- 25:23Speaker 2: Jedi until after he Jedi mind tricks don't work on
- 25:29Speaker 2: huts and things like that, you know. I mean, like
- 25:34Speaker 2: just one day he was just choke. I want to
- 25:36Speaker 2: choke you, and he would just choke somebody. He wouldn't
- 25:39Speaker 2: be a Jedi, he'd be a no, I can't last.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'm so tired.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Jedi. That could never be. A h could never be.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And that's how the conversation ended. There could never be
- 25:51Speaker 1: a Hut Jedi.
- 25:56Speaker 2: That's a good The more you know there could never
- 25:58Speaker 2: be a Hut Jedi.
- 26:00Speaker 1: More you know, the more you know, Joelle, we're going
- 26:05Speaker 1: to start having guests on more than now. We are
- 26:08Speaker 1: not doing episodes. And I asked Joelle if she would
- 26:11Speaker 1: find someone who would talk to us about open relationships
- 26:16Speaker 1: and marriages. Joelle, have you found an expert on that
- 26:19Speaker 1: at all?
- 26:19Speaker 4: We're still looking around, still poking around.
- 26:22Speaker 1: For well, this is a very hot topic issue.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Why is this a hot topic issue nowadays?
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm just something that people are talking about. I've seen
- 26:29Speaker 1: many articles around about some people shaking it up and
- 26:35Speaker 1: trying open relationships and open marriages, and I thought it
- 26:40Speaker 1: would be an interesting topic. Since our sex therapist was
- 26:43Speaker 1: so popular and our other therapy related guests were so interesting.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I thought it might be a good topic for our listeners,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and Joelle's going to find an expert.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I am. I'm interested in hearing what they have to say.
- 26:59Speaker 2: But as the only on the panel, No, Daniel's married
- 27:03Speaker 2: to Now, oh that's right. I forgot Daniel's married. Daniel.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Your relationship isn't open?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Is it correct?
- 27:09Speaker 3: It's not right?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Okay, but we're not We're not asking. We're not asking
- 27:12Speaker 1: whether it's for you or not. We just want to
- 27:14Speaker 1: have the conversation about people that are into it, just
- 27:15Speaker 1: out of curiosity.
- 27:16Speaker 2: We're not.
- 27:17Speaker 1: We're not.
- 27:17Speaker 2: We're not My relationship isn't open.
- 27:20Speaker 1: No, we know, we know. We're not asking. This is
- 27:24Speaker 1: We're not trying to enroll you. I just thought the topic.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Could be I don't want to be in a lifestyle,
- 27:33Speaker 2: he said, in case case is listening my marriage not?
- 27:38Speaker 1: All right? Ready, let's go on. Donald back to the
- 27:41Speaker 1: TV show Scrubs. The last state that we hear them
- 27:45Speaker 1: seeing is about Wyoming, and I laughed when Sam says,
- 27:50Speaker 1: no Jews to be Shaloami. It's funny rhyme. So Kelso
- 27:57Speaker 1: offers them a night on the town. He charmed by them,
- 28:00Speaker 1: and he says, I'm taking you out ted if you're leaving.
- 28:04Speaker 1: He's flirting, of course inappropriately with Gooch, but he says,
- 28:09Speaker 1: I'm taking you out on the town because we all
- 28:10Speaker 1: know that Cole is throwing a big party. And then
- 28:15Speaker 1: the security guards from the hospital are now they're now
- 28:19Speaker 1: the bouncers.
- 28:20Speaker 2: At the bar. Do it? I could have skipped it.
- 28:25Speaker 1: We have to talk about how that they are now.
- 28:27Speaker 1: They also work as the bouncers at the local bar
- 28:29Speaker 1: to pick up extra money. And in addition to that,
- 28:32Speaker 1: what's the thing they have? Oh, salsa? They make salsa.
- 28:37Speaker 4: They were the gig economy before the gig economy caught here,
- 28:40Speaker 4: which I can sort of respect. I just wish they
- 28:43Speaker 4: were funnier.
- 28:44Speaker 1: They have lots of hustles. Yes, is that what it
- 28:47Speaker 1: means to be a part of the gig economy?
- 28:49Speaker 4: Yeah, you have a lot of side hustles.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Right, well, they do. Lucy is assigned to interview the
- 28:56Speaker 1: great Paul Dooley, legendary character actor, and I remember Paul
- 29:00Speaker 1: Dowley being there and being excited. There's a movie that
- 29:04Speaker 1: was very important to my brother, and also a movie
- 29:06Speaker 1: that I loved called Breaking Away, which I highly recommend
- 29:10Speaker 1: to you. Paul Dewley has been in so many movies,
- 29:13Speaker 1: but he was the father in that movie and it
- 29:15Speaker 1: was really really what's the movie about, Zach. It's about
- 29:20Speaker 1: teenagers and growing up in a small town and one
- 29:24Speaker 1: of the young boys becomes a really incredible cyclist, and
- 29:30Speaker 1: he's it's a small town and they don't do anything,
- 29:32Speaker 1: and he's trying to break away from small town life
- 29:37Speaker 1: by being a competitive champion cyclist and it's really beautiful.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I recommend it.
- 29:45Speaker 2: He was also the dad in one of my favorite
- 29:48Speaker 2: movies of all times, sixteen Candles.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Oh, of course, sixteen Candles legend legendary movie. So JD's
- 29:59Speaker 1: at the bar and we know that he doesn't like beer,
- 30:01Speaker 1: but he does drink for eight years, he drinks apple
- 30:04Speaker 1: Teeni's they make him feel fancy. I don't know why
- 30:06Speaker 1: he's doing shots of soda weird, But the funniest part
- 30:10Speaker 1: of the episode, I think we can all agree the
- 30:12Speaker 1: funniest part of the episode is us dancing.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yes, I cracked out, He's.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Cracked out in those outfits and then easily. You say
- 30:21Speaker 1: that we're letting them know.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I laughed. That was I laughed very hard at that.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Ken Winningham, our amazing director, has a cameo around thirteen
- 30:32Speaker 1: twenty five. You first see.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Him as talking to Cole.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Cole right, and Cox calls him a jackass, I believe.
- 30:42Speaker 1: And then Cox asked Cole to name who the five
- 30:46Speaker 1: lamest people. This was so random, but Cox asks Cold
- 30:49Speaker 1: to naming the five lamest people in the bar. Yeah,
- 30:52Speaker 1: because he's trying to tell us that we're the big losers.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You're old. Stop trying to be young and silly. Grow
- 30:58Speaker 1: up your old men now or older men now. And
- 31:02Speaker 1: Cole doesn't name us, he names several other people, including Winning.
- 31:09Speaker 2: The joke is that it's Cox, some other dude ted, Yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 2: Cox ted some dude that he saw in the bathroom that.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I was a security guard. That was the white security guard.
- 31:22Speaker 1: He stored his his junk, he said.
- 31:25Speaker 2: And then the other dude, which was Ken Whittingham, who
- 31:29Speaker 2: has a weird wiener and.
- 31:31Speaker 1: He only knows about the weird wiener because the white
- 31:33Speaker 1: security guard told him about said weird wiener. Yes, it
- 31:38Speaker 1: was nice of Ken as the director of the show,
- 31:40Speaker 1: to say, I'll volunteer to be the guy with him.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I thought he probably didn't want to go through the
- 31:47Speaker 1: process of casting someone and be like, hey, your part
- 31:50Speaker 1: is that you have just your only thing, you do
- 31:52Speaker 1: a line. The only thing is that you fucked up, dick.
- 31:55Speaker 1: He's like, he's like, I'll take one. I'll take one.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I'll take one for the team and do a cameo.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Then we do our Brazilian fight dancing, which is just
- 32:06Speaker 1: chef's kiss. Do you remember if they showed us Brazilian
- 32:11Speaker 1: fight dancing so we could at least reference it because
- 32:13Speaker 1: we do like these moves. I don't know.
- 32:15Speaker 2: There was definitely a choreographer there for this. There was, yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 2: for sure, and a stunt man.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Well I kicked I kick you in the face.
- 32:22Speaker 2: So yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 1: And then there's a flashback and we're doing the ham
- 32:26Speaker 1: on no gila. We're doing the you know, the chair
- 32:28Speaker 1: dance that the Jews do at a wedding or a bar.
- 32:31Speaker 1: It's for at a celebration.
- 32:33Speaker 7: Is no no no no no no no no no
- 32:47Speaker 7: no no.
- 32:53Speaker 4: And not to go so hard, but it does, it goes.
- 33:05Speaker 1: It needs a remix.
- 33:08Speaker 2: To this ship to this day.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, this d you should you should drop a half
- 33:17Speaker 1: on the remix? There already is one. Really play a
- 33:21Speaker 1: half on the remix for us. I will pull it
- 33:23Speaker 1: up for you right now. I think it's old enough
- 33:25Speaker 1: to have the rights gone, to have Neguila biblical?
- 33:31Speaker 2: All right?
- 33:31Speaker 3: Cool?
- 33:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta it's that. What's the b pm fast?
- 33:37Speaker 1: I think it's it's like, let's here, yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Oh oh man, I gotta he got the trumpet.
- 33:49Speaker 1: We need to drop the bat Hey the idea? Hey,
- 33:59Speaker 1: it is extremely loud?
- 34:02Speaker 2: What does this song mean? Does anybody know what the
- 34:04Speaker 2: song means?
- 34:05Speaker 1: God?
- 34:05Speaker 3: I should?
- 34:06Speaker 1: I don't know and I should both know. We don't know.
- 34:09Speaker 1: We've been hearing in our whole lives. It's a celebration song.
- 34:13Speaker 1: And you pick a celebration. It's a celebration, and you
- 34:16Speaker 1: pick people up in a chair and you and you
- 34:18Speaker 1: bounce them up and down. And if you have a
- 34:20Speaker 1: bad back, when they start pulling out that chair, you
- 34:22Speaker 1: want to make sure you're nowhere near the situation because
- 34:25Speaker 1: they will enlist you.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Really, is it's like that. It's not. There's not like
- 34:30Speaker 2: assigned people. You have to come, you have to come,
- 34:33Speaker 2: you have to come in.
- 34:33Speaker 1: You have to come because we know what happens is
- 34:36Speaker 1: what happens is they bring if it's a bar mitso boy,
- 34:38Speaker 1: it's fine, odds are he or she is light. But
- 34:41Speaker 1: you get to the wedding party and the father, the father,
- 34:45Speaker 1: the groom, the bride, they're not They're not all going
- 34:47Speaker 1: to be easy to lift in a chair, and you
- 34:48Speaker 1: better have strength. So what you want to do when
- 34:51Speaker 1: you start hearing that song is tiptoe to the back
- 34:54Speaker 1: of the dance floor.
- 34:58Speaker 4: To Wikipedia, how nikkila means let us rejoice, and it
- 35:01Speaker 4: was written in nineteen eighteen.
- 35:03Speaker 1: There you go. It's not biblical. Let us rejoice, let
- 35:07Speaker 1: us rejoel always.
- 35:09Speaker 8: We gotta rejol always, we rejoice in hall On.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Get up a fucking chair. We're gone upel chair, We're.
- 35:18Speaker 8: Gonejoy Throw this motherfucker in the air, in the air,
- 35:23Speaker 8: this motherfucker.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Throw them in the fucking there.
- 35:25Speaker 8: Don't drop them, don't drop them, fucking rejoyce perfect, don't
- 35:41Speaker 8: drop down, don't drop them.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Rejoyce.
- 35:47Speaker 2: They gotta remix that now.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Anyway, that fucking Brazilian fight dancing was amazing.
- 35:53Speaker 2: And then you kick me in the face and we
- 35:55Speaker 2: gotta go to the house.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And you need stitches and uh. Then Ted goes off
- 35:59Speaker 1: on cal So, understandably because Kelso was drunk and all
- 36:03Speaker 1: he gives him is a handshake, and Ted's like, what
- 36:05Speaker 1: the hell give me more than that. I did find
- 36:09Speaker 1: it funny to call back the coal is afraid of
- 36:11Speaker 1: bread when you see him. When you see him in
- 36:16Speaker 1: the second time, he's eating his sandwich through the floor.
- 36:26Speaker 1: There was a War Buddies fantasy.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I don't know that wasn't a fantasy. That was real.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Oh we talked about them and.
- 36:31Speaker 1: The no they cut to them like and then and
- 36:35Speaker 1: then the War Buddies, as we said earlier, just show
- 36:37Speaker 1: up a little bit too easily. That was bizarre.
- 36:39Speaker 2: And then I lost my ship man and this was
- 36:41Speaker 2: the best part of the show for me. And I
- 36:43Speaker 2: got really emotional, you know what I mean. And the
- 36:45Speaker 2: way they said goodbye to Sam, this is the last
- 36:49Speaker 2: time Sam was and he walks off into white light.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I know, like that was deep.
- 36:56Speaker 2: It was like holy cow, like you know, oh yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 1: That was obviously they didn't intend to do that, but
- 37:06Speaker 1: I mean with meaning, but now he walks off into
- 37:09Speaker 1: white lights. It was very powerful. It says here in
- 37:14Speaker 1: scrubs WICKI he takes the bust that was gifted to
- 37:17Speaker 1: him by Kelso in My Five Stages. It's similar to
- 37:21Speaker 1: how doctor Kelso took his portrait in My Dumb Luck
- 37:24Speaker 1: and the Coffee Bucks table in My Finale. Sam Lloyd
- 37:27Speaker 1: was not, however, allowed to keep the bust they found out, dude. Also, interestingly,
- 37:32Speaker 1: this is the last episode of Scrubs ever to feature
- 37:36Speaker 1: Manly Henry Snoop Dogg attending Wow. The last time you
- 37:40Speaker 1: see him featured wise is wishing farewell to Ted. However,
- 37:46Speaker 1: even though uncredited, he does appear once more in Our
- 37:49Speaker 1: White Coats in the background after Cole is locked in
- 37:52Speaker 1: the broom closet. But this is the last time he's
- 37:54Speaker 1: featured in a shot.
- 37:55Speaker 3: It's Snoop Dogg attending well.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I mean it was auto OG's net when he leaves.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Was it was Rob there? I don't know if Rob
- 38:03Speaker 1: forgot who was there. I went good by so quickly,
- 38:06Speaker 1: it went.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Really fast, But it was I saw Colonel Doctor.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Colonel Doctor is doing a lot of fucking getting
- 38:12Speaker 1: a lot of steps in on these episodes. He's everywhere.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I see him in every shot, and that's the episode
- 38:19Speaker 1: Gooch plays them out, so Joelle do you have some
- 38:22Speaker 1: some some some hot takes for us.
- 38:24Speaker 4: We have one hot take.
- 38:26Speaker 1: All right, We're to take a quick break when we
- 38:27Speaker 1: come back around a hot take about Scrubs. This is
- 38:29Speaker 1: a nine episode four.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Will be right.
- 38:31Speaker 8: Back and we're bye.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Were Tank forever? Who Tank forever?
- 38:45Speaker 1: All right? Here we go here to Here is a positive.
- 38:49Speaker 6: You honor me, you honor you honor me.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Here is a positive take on Scrubs nine oh.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Four Socrates Philosophies.
- 38:57Speaker 6: Guys, it's smarting from the UK Rainy Chiltern Hills episode four.
- 39:04Speaker 6: It's really good. In rewatching it, I've realized quite how
- 39:08Speaker 6: dense it is, and so if I did miss anything,
- 39:10Speaker 6: please forgive me. But it's you know, the basic premise
- 39:14Speaker 6: is that the four guys have got to get these
- 39:16Speaker 6: sort of exit interviews from the terminal patients, which is
- 39:20Speaker 6: going to end up being a team building exercise, but
- 39:23Speaker 6: it gives JD an absolutely brilliant sort of opportunity to
- 39:27Speaker 6: reference my last words and stake night, which you know,
- 39:32Speaker 6: obviously is going to bring up a bit of nostalgia.
- 39:34Speaker 2: But it's.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Really well sort of plotted and sort of sketched out
- 39:39Speaker 6: to get the guys to work together, which also sort
- 39:42Speaker 6: of kind of starts Cole's transition in season nine from
- 39:48Speaker 6: you know, selfish entitled douchebag to ever so slightly less
- 39:54Speaker 6: selfish and title and Dave Franco plays it so well.
- 40:02Speaker 6: If I had to write down that, he delivers a
- 40:04Speaker 6: line which you know, it's a line that I would
- 40:07Speaker 6: happily use in day to day life, but nuts to
- 40:09Speaker 6: butts in that piece, big ol' angle dangle. I mean,
- 40:12Speaker 6: it's just absolutely nonsense but so well delivered. It's it's
- 40:19Speaker 6: it's really good. But yeah, bulletpoint in this this this
- 40:22Speaker 6: episode down is actually quite difficult because there is so
- 40:24Speaker 6: much going on, but you obviously got Cox, you know,
- 40:29Speaker 6: calling out Turkey j D is being pathetic for their
- 40:32Speaker 6: broper loser and eventually getting them to U go to
- 40:38Speaker 6: the party dressed as a cowboy in Indian and doing
- 40:42Speaker 6: their capoero dance off, which is worth the price of
- 40:47Speaker 6: admission alone. It's I think obviously for me, the big
- 40:55Speaker 6: big thing about this episode is is Ted Gooch and
- 41:02Speaker 6: Kelso it's it was funny rewatching it, you know, knowing
- 41:06Speaker 6: now that that Samd's no longer with us, that as
- 41:09Speaker 6: soon as as Ted is there, it had it really
- 41:16Speaker 6: it sort of hit quite emotionally. Actually, I was getting
- 41:18Speaker 6: a bit, you know, sweaty eyed about that thing. But
- 41:22Speaker 6: the little sort of like interplays between Ted and Gooch
- 41:26Speaker 6: and Kelso have always been brilliant and I've always been
- 41:30Speaker 6: you know, you know, Scrubs at its best is when
- 41:33Speaker 6: the peripheral characters I'd say peripheral should being unfair, but
- 41:39Speaker 6: they can just play off of each other so well
- 41:42Speaker 6: that it's almost effortless. It's it's beautifully written, it's beautifully acted.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I think Ted and Kelso's sort of goodbye is great because,
- 41:51Speaker 6: you know, Ted calls Kelso out for saying, you know,
- 41:55Speaker 6: I deserve more than just a handshake, and in the
- 41:57Speaker 6: end all he does care is a handshake, but really
- 42:00Speaker 6: sincere and subtle but beautifully paid.
- 42:03Speaker 2: You know, goodbye.
- 42:04Speaker 6: I'm going to miss you. And yeah, my takeaway from
- 42:08Speaker 6: the episode was that that you know, knowing what we
- 42:11Speaker 6: know now, was was you know, very very emotional, but
- 42:15Speaker 6: it was It's a great episode. It really really enjoyed it,
- 42:20Speaker 6: and so, you know, thanks you guys for you know,
- 42:24Speaker 6: delivering this this this great show. It's and season nine.
- 42:29Speaker 6: I'm really glad to have gone back and looked at
- 42:31Speaker 6: it because I think I feel like I've, you know,
- 42:33Speaker 6: unearthed something that I maybe wouldn't have done if you
- 42:37Speaker 6: guys had not sort of decided to include it on
- 42:39Speaker 6: the show. So thank you so much for the opportunity.
- 42:43Speaker 6: Thanks to Zack and Donald for what you do, and Joelle,
- 42:48Speaker 6: you know, for putting it all together. It's it's great
- 42:51Speaker 6: and just another quick thing. It might be me. I
- 42:54Speaker 6: don't know, but I'm pretty sure in the opening titles,
- 42:58Speaker 6: if Zach is in it, JD is the one putting
- 43:02Speaker 6: up the the X ray on the on the light box.
- 43:06Speaker 6: But if he's not in it, it's not him.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I might be right.
- 43:11Speaker 6: Anyway, Cheers, guys, Thanks a lot, keep up the good work.
- 43:15Speaker 1: That was great.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Yeah, sitting in the Daniel he does Daniel, that's okay.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you know, Daniel doesn't really register in Martin's mind.
- 43:23Speaker 1: That's okay. No offense to Daniel. That was really good.
- 43:28Speaker 1: That was really well said, though, and thank you Martin
- 43:31Speaker 1: for all the kind words. I think he's right. We
- 43:34Speaker 1: haven't gotten to non JD episodes, but I know I
- 43:37Speaker 1: remember that we shot that title sequence two ways, and
- 43:39Speaker 1: I believe when it's when I'm gone. Lucy's the one
- 43:42Speaker 1: who puts up the X ray at the end. Yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 1: he said a lot of things we agree with, except
- 43:48Speaker 1: he absolutely adored it.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't know if I agree with that, but yeah,
- 43:52Speaker 2: I don't agree with the absolutely adoring it. He just
- 43:55Speaker 2: named the few bullet points that we were able to
- 43:58Speaker 2: name that were great about the show. He didn't really name.
- 44:01Speaker 2: He didn't really put story into it.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I'm asking them to summarize it.
- 44:07Speaker 6: I do say.
- 44:09Speaker 2: That's that's what's lacking about all of some of these
- 44:12Speaker 2: hate it or love it, you know what I mean?
- 44:15Speaker 4: Are you calling for more criticism of story and our voicemails?
- 44:20Speaker 2: No, not necessarily that it's it's just like everybody who
- 44:26Speaker 2: likes it so far is just like the nostalgia of
- 44:28Speaker 2: it is great, and that's just proving our point. They're
- 44:30Speaker 2: not necessarily saying what's great about the show. They're just saying,
- 44:34Speaker 2: I love the nostalgia part. I love the nostalgie.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I think we need to have Tamika back and have
- 44:38Speaker 1: her do everything.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I agree with you. I agree with you one hundred
- 44:41Speaker 2: percent on that one. She actually and not not to
- 44:44Speaker 2: say that this gentleman didn't do a great job.
- 44:46Speaker 4: He was very articulate, and he lies in the rtaintop
- 44:50Speaker 4: all day.
- 44:51Speaker 1: He might just be English. You don't know if he's articulate,
- 44:54Speaker 1: no doubt, no doubt, But don't let him fool you.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Donald effortlessly.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I appreciate him calling. But what's her name? What's her name?
- 45:02Speaker 3: Toka?
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yeah she did. She goes deep, deep, deep, deep deep
- 45:07Speaker 2: into it in the words.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, will you tell Tamika if you don't mind, Joelle
- 45:13Speaker 1: that she was so good that we kind of want
- 45:15Speaker 1: to change the segment to a new caller comments pro
- 45:20Speaker 1: or negative, and then we hear from Tamika.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Got it.
- 45:26Speaker 1: All right? That's our show. Donald. I bet there's a
- 45:28Speaker 1: sitcom you want to tell everyone about.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I spoke about it earlier, but no.
- 45:32Speaker 1: We need to hear more because you're wearing a green shirt.
- 45:36Speaker 9: I would like to talk about this movie called French Girl,
- 45:40Speaker 9: Go ahead Girl. It stars the lovely Vanessa Hutchins, Yes,
- 45:47Speaker 9: and a very very enthusiastic Zach bra Yeah.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Enthusiastic is right. It's really fun. You'll love it. It's
- 45:55Speaker 1: wherever you get your movies on vod Amazon, Apple, wherever
- 45:58Speaker 1: you wherever you buy or rent movie you can find
- 46:00Speaker 1: French Girl please check it out. And Donald is in uh,
- 46:04Speaker 1: what's it called again? Extended family, Extended family, legendary, John
- 46:11Speaker 1: Cryer and Abigail Spencer. All right, that's our show. We
- 46:15Speaker 1: love you guys, Thank you as always for checking in
- 46:17Speaker 1: with us and listening to us. Babbel.
- 46:20Speaker 8: Donald kind of sound stories about show we.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Made about a bunch of talks and nurses, he said.
- 46:32Speaker 2: He's the stories nets.
- 46:36Speaker 1: No, so yanda here yead here.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Show is
