Ladies and/or gentlemen. Other. Or they/them. Other. Welcome to Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 60. Six zero. Six O. 6A. Hawaii six-O. Big 60? Big 60.
• 0:35
Big 60. Yeah. Speaking of big 60. Wasn't I clever? Should be getting a big sexy call pretty soon. [laughs] Ooh, big sexy. I saw you roll that in there. Back on the road, huh? Yeah. Clever.
• 0:46
Hey Think that'll- Don't be eyeballing my piece of ghost pepper jerky there Oh. Ooh, Billy, it's hot. Tony, Tony found a little cache of, uh, Held's ghost pepper jerky hiding in the Lazy Susan, so.
• 1:00
[exhales] Both- It aged well- Yeah. It's, um-... ladies and gentlemen My taste buds are quivering in ant- I am, I are sweating... anticipation- Yeah. It, it's a-... before I even try.
• 1:10
[sniffs] It's hot when you get it from the, from the quote-unquote factory. [laughs] Uh, it, it, it has dried and aged. Yeah. Yeah. It's very good.
• 1:18
I would, I could see having, like, a couple of pounds of this for a cross-country trip and then journaling how it progressed. [laughs] Okay. Looks like you have a plan. There you go.
• 1:29
I can see me- Maybe you could do it on your trip down, uh, down south there. I'm not doing that on a bicycle, though. Oh, that's not long enough timeframe either. Doing that in a great big, great big SUV.
• 1:39
Wouldn't say I'm attracted. A SUV? I am. You rented a SUV? I am. I did. Kind of- Seven-passenger... what is it? Uh, Armada. Why do they name a car after a boat? I don't know. Or a fleet?
• 1:52
Why do they name them after natural disasters? The Avalanche. [laughs] Avalanche. You know, I mean- Because all the other good names are taken. Barracuda is a animal that kills you, you know?
• 2:04
Or yeah, there's, there's, you know- Sirocco's a wind that's really hot... yeah, exactly. You know? I have my patriotic Liberty. Yeah. America. America. America. Got my American Jeep. Jeep, Jeep. Fuck yeah.
• 2:15
Mine's called a Caravan, but there's only one of them- Right... so it's not exactly a caravan. You have to be with other caravans. You have to, you have to have, like, a party of Caravannings. Caravan with caravans.
• 2:24
Maybe it's a caravan like, uh, like with the dogs and Brad Pitt and, uh- Yeah... [laughs] whatever that movie's called. What is that? Snatch. Snatch, yeah. Pica. Pica. Did you, uh,
• 2:35
we're digressing already, but did you- [laughs]... see the, the YouTube video, the guy who takes the Caravan and puts a great big Ford F-250 diesel turbo in it and drag races it, and he just destroys everyone?
• 2:50
That sounds like a good plan. [laughs] Oh, he's absolutely hilarious.
• 2:53
He shows up at the, at the c- at the, uh, strip, and his kids get out of the car, and they get out a set of tools and start taking out the seats, and then they pull the slicks out.
• 3:05
And the guy that's registering people is like, "You're not seriously here to race your minivan." And then he literally... The videos are priceless. Sadly, the dude died. He, uh- Oh...
• 3:16
lost control of it, and he crashed into a wall. It killed him. Ouch. Spoiler. Wow. But the, yeah, but the videos of him kicking ass in, like, a 1984 Dodge minivan. Nobody suspects the minivan. Yeah. And like- Right?
• 3:29
I always thought they should have a NASCAR series with minivans. Awesome. [laughs] Do you mean Rabbits? Because, you know, race it on Sunday, buy it on Monday.
• 3:36
ITTB, Rabbits, I mean, that, that created its whole movement of car racing by going out and buying a cheap car and having fun. Rabbit. Rabbit. Rabbit. Ribbit. Uh, what's going on out there cycling world-wise?
• 3:51
It was actually a pretty nice day today. Yeah. I didn't get a chance to until- It's not been bad at all... I mean, apart from coming over here, but. I either. I was- [laughs]... out enjoying it. I kept wanting to.
• 4:00
I kept thinking about it- It was very lovely out... and then like, eh. Mm. I went out for lunch, uh, sat out on the porch and had a little snack.
• 4:05
I tried to test ride Sean's extra super large, uh, Trek and had to sit on the top tube. [laughs] That's funny. Yeah. It's a really big bike. Yeah. That's a big boy bike, for sure. Yeah. How's it going?
• 4:17
Got, got some fancy new wheels on it. Yeah, looking good. Yeah. Looking... Riding nice. You should have seen Kobe- He'll be back next week with Kobe bricks. [laughs] Did you see, did you see Kobe riding with two bikes?
• 4:25
I said, "You look like somebody stole a bike out of a garage here in River West- Yeah... the way you're going there, son." Yeah, yeah. [laughs] He borrowed the, uh, push bike last night so he could do some video of it.
• 4:35
That's the one that my buddy loaned me that you attach to your dog leash and the dog is supposed to pull you. It ma- Medi Posz pulled me like four houses. She's like, "Fuck you, dude. I'm not doing the work."
• 4:47
[laughs] Yeah, that's usually- She literally sat and only like, "Uh-uh." Yeah, we, I don't, no. Maybe get, uh, Kim West and his, uh, fleet of Greyhounds to tug you around. [laughs] Right. You know? Or, or,
• 4:57
you know, I'd be willing to bet Spinner's dogs would be like- Right... "Oh, yeah, Dad, we'll give you a lift this time. You've done it for us for so long." Yeah, probably. Kim's, Kim was, uh...
• 5:08
He's still doing his, uh, every, every morning thing. Yeah. I pop in on occasion. Yeah, that's that show 36 or 7 or something already, so. I think 39. Check out Kim West. 39.
• 5:20
Fast, fast cyclist and, uh, all around good guy on the Facebook Live. Also Canadian. Up in 10, 10:15 AM. Psychic director. What's that? Up in Canadia right now. Wasn't he?
• 5:32
I think he was going somewhere to pick up a couch. [laughs] Something like... Yeah, that's kind of what I wanted- 'Cause that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go to Canada and get a couch like- Okay.
• 5:37
Kans- uh, Kansas City is where he was going. Oh. Oh. That's like Canada. Yeah. Yeah. Same- See?... alphabet. Hey, Kim West, how's it going? [laughs] Exactly. So, um, the Bike Fed has pre-order for their- Softy pants...
• 5:52
sweatpants. [laughs] I ordered some 'cause I'm wearing sweatpants almost all day at home. I, I went to the, I went to the link and the link went to something crazy, so I didn't even know what the- I put my order in...
• 6:01
what was going on there. When did this suddenly turn to soft pants? When did I miss this? There's, uh- Versus what? Hard pants? Sweatpants? Hard pants. Hard pants. That's like thunder snow and thunder rain, dude.
• 6:15
[laughs] Bullshit, it's a thunderstorm. It's supposed to thunder- There's geography at dole... That's right. [laughs] I'm smacking a thunderstorm over here. Thun- thun- no. I love thunder snow.
• 6:25
Their, their bike- It makes it more epic. Mm-hmm. Their bike to work at home soft pants. Yeah. 'Cause that would be to- [coughs] Today. Today. Today is bike to, bike to work day. Mm. Oh, it is today? Today, today.
• 6:42
Real today, not- Not Friday today. Correct, Friday today. Oh. Yeah So two days from now. Yes. But today. In the timeline. Correct. Gotcha. [laughs] To ride your bikes today. I'm, yeah, [laughs] I'm doing Dr. Strange.
• 6:58
Right? Yeah, I saw that outside. Yeah, it was weird. [laughs] So we, we took a roll up to the top of the reservoir hill, and were supposed to see some kind of flyover yesterday. Yeah. I don't know what the- I- Yeah...
• 7:09
was it just, I, I don't know, I didn't see, except for a KC-135 kinda lumbering around, I didn't see any- Yeah, there was like a four-pack kind of way in the distance, but- I think the ones that I saw [laughs] may have been birds.
• 7:21
I know. I, later on I'm like, "Eh- Yeah, maybe... this could have been birds way off in the distance. Well. Yeah, my mom had texted me and it was like, "Oh, hey, a flyover in like 30 minutes." And I'm like,
• 7:33
"What are you talking about?" And then all of a sudden everybody just started populating up there, and it was like, "Oh, well, I guess there is something going on." [laughs] Sorry I missed the memo. Yeah.
• 7:44
And many a ham were crushed in waiting. [laughs] Two bites- Kinda... at the sunrise apple. Okay, I'll go get some more. [laughs] Hey-o, let's push this little button over here. Let's see what's going on here. Button.
• 7:59
What's going on? What's happening? Hey, button. Hey, button. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, welcome to the- Hello... radio program. Caller, who do we have on the line? This is Big Sexy. Big Sexy. There he is.
• 8:13
I was looking forward to your call. We just, uh, did a brief catch-up yesterday and, uh- Well, I, yeah, well, I mean, I mean, I, I called a little early because I was, I, I'm wi- I'm watching these cats eat.
• 8:27
As in actual cats or cats like, "Hey, man, how's it going?" [laughs] No, uh, cats, like, like, like, they're, they're, uh, eating actual food. Right, meow. And they're- Oh...
• 8:39
and they're looking at me like, looking at me like, "What the fuck are you and that beautiful blue tricycle doing right here?" [laughs] Meow. So you are on the road again, sir. Yes, I am.
• 8:54
I'm, um, I'm north of, northeast of Little Rock, and I'm heading to Springfield, Illinois. Wow. Wow. So you, you left, when did you leave, uh, New Orleans?
• 9:08
Uh, well, I, um, technically I left New Orleans on March 12th. Ooh. Oh. So you were way- I, I, I haven't-... you were waylaid somewhere... I haven't, I haven't been in New Orleans since March 12th.
• 9:26
Wow. I've been in, uh, St. Bernard Parish, and I've been, you know, I've been, uh, across the lake and I've, I've been, you know, I've been everywhere but New Orleans. 'Cause g- guys, I'm sorry,
• 9:44
I don't wanna be the one to break it to you, but- [laughs]... New Orleans is dead. New Orleans is dead right now. Wow.
• 9:54
Yeah, that's, uh- Uh, everything, everything that I love about this city, everything I love about New Orleans is nonexistent right now. Everything I hate about that city
• 10:13
is running rampant. That's really a shame. For example.
• 10:21
It, it, it i- it, it, it, it is, but, um, I've, I've been, I've, I have not been in, I have not been in that city since St. Patrick's Day. Um, I have been in St.
• 10:40
Bernard Parish, I've been in St. Tammany Parish, I've been across the lake. I've been, you know, everywhere where Louisiana is at its finest. I've been everywhere, man. I've been everywhere. Right?
• 10:55
[laughs] But, um, I have, I have not, I have not been in New Orleans for the longest time. Sound idea, or sound plan. [laughs] Yeah. So that's- So how's the, how's the first part of the trip going? Uh, well,
• 11:14
dude, Arkansas is awesome. The, um, the shoulders, like there, there's a huge shoulder on every highway, al- almost, almost every highway.
• 11:31
I have been enjoying myself with, uh, uh, uh, in Arkansas. My God, it's like
• 11:44
I don't even have to pay attention to what's going on behind me because I have this much room. Mm-hmm. Excellent. It, it's, it's wonderful. How long are you staying in Arkansas? I, uh, I...
• 12:02
Oh, well, um, uh, as, as little as possible 'cause I'm,
• 12:08
I'm trying to get to Illinois- And as soon as I get to Illinois, I'm on my way up to Springfield, and then we're gonna take a picture of the capitol building there, and then we're, uh, heading to Des Moines. Nice. Ah.
• 12:23
You gotta- I mean, it, it, it- We gotta, we gotta set him up with Kim West in Des Moines. Well, yeah. Yeah. It's really all abo- it's really all about the capitals, guys. Yep. It really is.
• 12:35
I mean, like, and, uh, I, I did, I did Little Rock, I did Little Rock the other day and, uh, I took a couple pictures. I, dude, I do not remember, I do not remember half of the journey.
• 12:53
[laughs] I, but you know what? Jagermeister makes me go fast. [laughs] Yeah, the fuel. Well, when was, when were you stuck in the dry county? Was that yesterday? Oh, yeah, no.
• 13:08
And I, I, I've, I've been, I've been done stuck in a dry county. Almost everywhere I stopped was a dry county. [laughs] And it's like, what? [laughs] Wait a minute. I can't buy, I can't buy beer?
• 13:25
[laughs] I have to go 15 miles, I have to go five miles out of my way to go buy beer? I'm like, "Oh my God." Wow. Dude, it, it makes Utah, it makes Utah look good.
• 13:43
[laughs] Yeah, I remember how it works there. You, uh, you gotta become a member of the club with a day pass to- You gotta go in and do- Yeah, yeah... yeah. And then you- Something like that. They,
• 13:55
you know, and, and, and today, today, I, I went, I went five miles backwards
• 14:05
to get a six pack of beer and then, um, and then the next liquor store was 30 miles away, so I'm like, "Okay, here we go." [laughs] We can do 30 miles. I've done 30 miles, you know, and like no, no big whoop.
• 14:23
Yep. But now n- now here I am. I, I, um, uh, God, I wish I knew the name of this town. Are you sleeping under the stars tonight? I'm sleeping under the stars tonight.
• 14:42
Nice. How's Heather doing? Oh, man, she's a little beat up. Yeah. I've saw you went to- She's a little beat up. She, she, she needs, she needs, uh, she needs a new leftie and she needs a new righty.
• 14:58
The wheels are still giving- But I mean-... you trouble, huh? Huh? The wheels are still giving you trouble? Yes, that's the right one. The right one, um, uh, this one, this one didn't even last a week. Hmm.
• 15:12
Are, are you, are you getting basic replacement wheels, like inexpensive ones, or are you having somebody hand build something- Yeah, yeah... nice for you? Yeah. Like, like no, like inexpensive ones.
• 15:23
I, I like, yeah, like 40 bucks. And, and if I need it, if I need it that day, yeah, then that's when it, that's when the, the price hits me. But it's like,
• 15:40
I understand, but they, they, they, they're like... I'm like, "Okay, well, um, I'm, I'm passing through South, South Illinois and, uh, and Southeastern Illinois. Can I come pick 'em up?"
• 15:56
They're like, "No, you have to have 'em shipped. You can't, you can't, you can't just come pick, you can't just come pick up your, your, your wheels." That'd be so awesome. Yeah.
• 16:06
If I could just pull up, pull up to Schwinn and be like, "Hey, change my wheels real quick." Like- [laughs] Just like a- Like if I was, like, pulling into a pit stop or something. Yeah. A little NASCAR action. Yep.
• 16:19
You just stay seated right on the tire of the bike. Be like, "Woo, woo, woo. Woo, woo." Yeah. We gotta figure out how to get you some- No, I, uh, uh-... decent wheels. I, I think a decent, well-built wheel- Okay...
• 16:30
would last you. I, I can't- Like, yeah... imagine- Can't be that bad... that it would be that bad. Well, well let, let, let me, let me break it down to you. It's lefty, righty, and fronty, right? Yeah. Yep.
• 16:44
Lefty, righty, and fronty. And lefty, lefty, uh, needs to be replaced. Um, fronty is fine,
• 16:55
but righty always needs to be replaced, so I might as well order one there, you know, I might as well order one at the same time. Gotcha. Do you just carry them with you and put them on as needed?
• 17:08
Well, no, I mean, but no, no, no, I just put the new ones on when I get 'em. But what I'm saying is that, that lefty, lefty here has been at, at, at, since, f- for over a year,
• 17:27
and now it's starting to wobble and that is missing a couple spokes and I'm like, okay, well, we're finally gonna have to replace lefty. We've replaced righty, we replaced righty like eight times- Yeah, well-...
• 17:40
a week... that's a, a lot of- Is that the drive wheel? That must, it's the drive wheel, right? That's gotta be the drive wheel. And, well, because of,
• 17:48
because of the coronavirus, they're, they're like, "No, you can't, you can't just come, you can't just come like rolling up in, uh, in Schwinn territory. You have to have 'em shipped." I'm like, "Okay, cool."
• 18:03
I'm, uh, but you wouldn't even understand how close I am to that plant. You know, like where, where they, where they actually make that shit. Yeah. Well, it's too bad that- That's the-... they can't have you stop by.
• 18:17
I think they should sponsor you. Yeah, no shit. Well, right, but at the same time, I understand why they're not, though. They're like, "Oh, shit. Well, uh, uh, uh, I, we don't know what we're doing.
• 18:34
I push a button, I push a button and you get a, a rim sent to you, and, like, I can't put them through that."
• 18:49
'Cause then they're gonna go, they're gonna go like, "What the fuck are you talking about? This guy's gonna come through and make us look like assholes?" Well, it's their product, you know? It is. No, no, no.
• 19:05
Okay, so let, let's see some positive. Let- let's, um, I wanna, I wanna, um... I am completely positive that I'm gonna make it through this. You know why? Why? Why? Why?
• 19:22
Because I got the best damn tricycle in the whole wide universe. [laughs] And, and no hill, ain't no hill gonna bring me down. No baby.
• 19:39
[laughs] I, I- That's the beginning of a song. Ain't no mountain high enough. I, look- [laughs]... we're, we're, we're get- we're get- we're getting to the Ozarks, we're getting to the ups and downs,
• 19:51
and then I'm gonna get to Illinois, which is pretty much flat. Yeah.
• 19:57
And then I'm gonna go to Des Moines, and then I'm going to Minneapolis, and then I'm gonna go to North Dakota, and I am gonna go up and down and up and down, and I don't care. [laughs] You know why?
• 20:11
'Cause I'm doing this. You are doing it, man, for sure. Tony's heading down to the Ozarks. Maybe he'll, uh, pass you on the highway on the way down there. Yeah. Who? Our, our- I am.
• 20:24
I'm, I'm leaving next, uh, Thursday for the Ozarks. Well, I'll tell you what, man. I, I, look, I'm, I am coming through Illinois, I'm coming through Illinois, and I, I,
• 20:39
look, I want to go through Wisconsin one more time, I really do, but I have no reason to go through Wisconsin anymore. Well. I, I, I- We're here. [laughs] Well, yeah, but
• 20:55
I mean, besides that, I, I've al- I, I went to the capital.
• 21:01
I- and one of the best pictures I've taken of Heather was right in front of the state capital building right there in Madison, Wisconsin, and it, it, it's a wonderful picture, and I'm sure you've seen it. Yeah.
• 21:16
It, it's a good c- it's a good-looking capital, you know. It is a good-looking capital. It's a good-looking capital. Built on a marsh. Right. It's a swamp town. But, um, so why, why- Great...
• 21:25
why do I need to, why do I need to go through that Wisconsin hell one more time? [laughs] It's a little better now than it used to be. Slightly. Oh, oh, be- uh, so, so it might be a little bit better this time.
• 21:43
Might be a little better. All right, dude. All right. So you're gonna go... I, I saw your route. Um, are, are the numbers waypoints on the route that are, were on the map you sent? Huh?
• 21:57
You sent me the map of your route the other day. Is that, what are the numbers on there? Yeah. Are those, are those just stops or waypoints? Um, oh, um, every, every one of those, um, is a place that I mean to go.
• 22:13
Gotcha. Oh, nice. Excellent. So, um, so yeah, I, it, like, I, eh, eh, eh, I, I'm going to Minneapolis, but then
• 22:28
after Minneapolis I'm going to Bismarck, and then I'm going to Pierre, and then I'm going to Cheyenne. Well, no, no. I'm sorry. Cheyenne. I'm going to Pierre, and then I'm going to Mount Rushmore.
• 22:43
Yeah, that's a good place. And then, and then I'm going to Cheyenne, and then I'm going to Denver, and you know, I... Yeah.
• 22:56
The, uh, the Ruby House in Keystone right by Mount Rushmore has excellent steaks. Hmm. Oh. [laughs] I stop there every time I'm going through South Dakota. Mm-hmm.
• 23:07
All right, Jason, dude, man, we'll, we'll catch up with you in a few weeks and see how your, uh, progress is going, and I'm gonna work on this wheel idea for you. I, I...
• 23:15
We gotta get you some wheels that are built by somebody that knows what they're doing, so you don't have to keep going through this- Right... this hell of replacing Heather's feet every so often. Right.
• 23:24
Well, but I, I'll, I'll s- I'll tell you what, um, thanks to the coronavirus, I really am not too worried about it right now. Right on. Um, I mean, don't, don't, don't get me wrong, I am not
• 23:42
saying that I'm profiting from the coronavirus, but I'm kind of profiting from the coronavirus. [laughs] Well, somebody sure as hell should.
• 23:58
  Well, I mean, I, I'll, I'll, I'll tell you what, like, I'm traveling alone, right? I, I, w- when I go into a gas station, I, I clean up, I wash up and blah, blah. You know, it, I, I, I travel-
• 24:17
You know, it, it's, it seems to m- to me that I'm kinda winning on it. I'm kinda winning right now. [laughs] You're a winner.
• 24:35
  That's what it's all about. I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm sorry. I don't, I d- I, I do not mean it to, to, um, to, uh, to, uh, m- make fun of or,
• 24:50
or, like, say, like, "Oh, yeah, oh, you're losing" to anybody. But, I'm benefiting right now. Right on.
• 25:05
I'm sor- I, a- and, and I have, have n- n- zero, from New Orleans until where I am right now,
• 25:17
about 400 miles away from the Springsville Island, I have not had any trouble with any law enforcement whatsoever. Nice. Excellent. [laughs] Keep that record going. Yeah, no jinxing.
• 25:31
[laughs] Well, I mean, I mean, no, I'm, I'm... [laughs] And A, yeah, A, I'm not gonna jinx it, but B, I'm like, dude- Yeah, it'd be tough too...
• 25:40
I am, I'm, I'm, I'm just sitting here on my tricycle and, and everybody just leaves me alone. Nice. Ah, if only life could be that simple for all of us. [laughs] I wish.
• 25:57
  But, but look, I, I, I, I, I have a, I have a mask. I cover my face when I go into a building. Good. And I, you know, I, I, I, I do what, I do what I can do. I'm, I'm, I'm not, I'm not being insensitive here.
• 26:14
I'm just saying that, like, hey, look, I'm traveling across the country and nobody seems to care. Sounds good to me, man. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All right, brother. Well, we're gonna- Okay...
• 26:29
we're gonna let you go this time, and, uh, w- we'll catch up- Be safe... with you in a few weeks. Rubbicide down, all three. Sure. I'll, I'll call, I'll call you and go tell you where I'm at. [laughs] Sounds good.
• 26:42
All right, Jason. I bet, I bet ya, I bet ya, I bet ya in two weeks I'll be in Des Moines, Iowa. [laughs] Right on. Cool.
• 26:49
But when, hey, when you know a little bit closer to the exact date you're gonna be there, text me or call me.
• 26:56
And I got a guy I'd like to try and, uh, get you in touch with in Des Moines who is a cyclist and does a show on, uh, a Facebook Live show, uh, about cycling. I'd like to see if you guys can hook up- Sure...
• 27:08
'cause he's a, he's a super good dude. And, uh, I don't know, maybe serendipity- Well, what-... will help out there. When I, when I get closer to Des Moines, Iowa, I will text you all and I'll say what's up.
• 27:20
  I'm, I'm r- I'm, I'm, I'm sorry, I don't, I don't, I didn't mean to be, I didn't mean to be all like, "Oh, well, coronavirus ain't bringing me down. Nothing, nuh-uh." [laughs] But it, but I'm sorry, it isn't.
• 27:37
[laughs] [laughs] Not really hurting me either, so. You're good. All right. We'll catch you again. Okay. Thanks, thanks, man. All right. Take it easy. Later. Bye. Yeah, take it easy, man. Okay, bye. All right. And 65.
• 27:54
Jason. Heather didn't say a whole lot this time. No. Heather's not talking.
• 27:58
No, for, for the, uh, for the listeners who, I probably should have prefaced the whole Jason thing by saying that we talked to Jason a few times last year when he was riding- Yeah. Yeah...
• 28:07
across the country on his tricycle, hitting state capitals. And, uh, I don't know, he did 15 or something last year. Quite a few. Yeah, he got quite a few done, yeah. Mostly the East Coast, and, uh- Yeah...
• 28:18
now he's coming up the Midwest, the, the breadbasket of the old dang country right there- Mm-hmm, hmm... on his, uh, Schwinn Meridian- Yeah... tricycle. And by cracky, he needs some freaking wheels, so.
• 28:31
Man, does he ever. I gotta figure out what I th- I actually have a Meridian over at the other shop, so we'll look- Oh... at the hubs on there, and maybe we'll get Trusky to build him a wheel or two. Cool. That'd be fun.
• 28:42
Oh, boy. It's been a long haul. [bell ringing] Oh. That's a haul. That's a haul. Long haul. Top of the hill, maybe, in the Ozarks today. Oh. Oh. Well- We're up the hill...
• 28:57
I guess we're, today, right now we're drinking Gathering Place- Gathering Place's-... Conversation Starter... Italian pale ale. Which I don't even know what the heck an Italian pale ale is. Italian? Is it from Italy?
• 29:10
Maybe. It's an India pale ale brewed by an Italian. Maybe. Is Joe an Italian? Well, the name Joseph could be, but I don't think he is. Uh, he, does he have an amazing Technicolor dream coat? He could.
• 29:24
[laughs] If anyone that I knew would have one, it would be him. So the show beer, I'm gonna have to go get our other show beer. Um, and you guys just talk 'cause I'm gonna go get it. Mm-hmm.
• 29:35
It, it's Wizard Staff from Two Brothers, and I will explain a little bit about that.
• 29:38
This, uh, comes from a beautiful River West Brewery Gathering Place Brewing Company, which you haven't, if you haven't been to, you really should go check out. It's a beautiful, uh, tasting room. Nice little, uh,
• 29:52
selection of beers. They, they kinda do the gambit. I highly recommend, uh, uh, stopping. This, uh, Italian pale ale is 6.5 ABV. It's got some, uh, complexity going on there, would you say, Jeremy?
• 30:06
Yeah, some heavy- But it's tasty... some heavy flavors. It's very drinkable. Um, uh, uh, not, I mean, I could, it, on a nice hot day I think it'd be pretty delicious. I've got no sweat, uh-... uh, enjoying this thing.
• 30:19
Actually, I do have a lot of sweat enjoying this thing because I had some of that damn ghost pepper jerky and- I need another piece of the jerky... [laughs] now I'm sweating hard.
• 30:27
I take my hat off, ladies and gentlemen, because I'm sweating so hard. So the, uh, the, the show beer that I actually put on the show notes is, uh, Two Brothers. I think they're in Warrenville.
• 30:39
Warrenville, Illinois, down near Chicago way. Says right there Warrenville, Illinois. There you go. Um- Two Brothers... they have been around for over 20 years. Wow. I was surprised to learn that. Um,
• 30:50
this here stuff is called Wizard Staff, and I thought- It hangs like sleeve of wizard?... what a cracking good name that is. By crikey. Huh. It may have taken- Follow your-... some powers of-... penchant...
• 31:01
mystical proportions, but we conjured up an easy-drinking, low-alcohol IPA- What?... that doesn't compromise flavor. Oh, five. Well, it's a 5.0. [laughs] It's not low low. Well, it's low for an IPA.
• 31:11
It's not- It's not a big beer-... it's more of a pale ale... as our friend Tim likes. All right. Extremely drinkable with a bold hop profile, it's IPA's juicy and tropical, yet smooth and light.
• 31:20
Crushable, flavorful, stackable. Hm. It must be magic. Ha- have you guys ever made a wizard staff? No, but w- what was the name of that River West 24 tandem team that did so well? Wizard Smoke. Oh, it was Wizard Smoke.
• 31:36
Was that Huber? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Eric Huber. Eric Huber. Of, of, of course. Um, well, let's give this a quaff because, uh- Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I have not opened mine yet.
• 31:44
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You know what? Anyhow- Speaking of. All right...
• 31:50
get the beaker move there. I like it. All right, all right, I'm, I'm- My beaker. It's open. [laughs] [clears throat] Tasty. Hm. Little refreshing, huh? That's actually pretty good. Huh? Yeah.
• 32:06
Yeah, that's, that's, that's fine. It's not as hoppy- Yeah... as I would think from the description, but- No, but, but it, it's juicy... I can tell you this, it's juicy. It is juicy.
• 32:16
It has really got a- Speaking of summer day beer, that, that right there is a summer day beer. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. My juicy dance. Yeah. [laughs] Thank God we're not on Facebook Live yet. Hell yeah. That would've been bad.
• 32:28
Um, I- [laughs] Or good. Who knows?... I think it's good. It's actually delicious. Yeah, it is pretty tasty. So the, the beer came to us courtesy of Steve, who was, uh, a gentleman- Oh, nice...
• 32:36
that bought two of the Chumba- Two... titanium frames and came up to pick 'em up and brought not only the Wizard Staff from Two Brothers, but a couple other local beers. They're all good. All good. All good.
• 32:48
People make good beer all over the country. If, if, if this was in my hometown, I'd have a hard problem with that because that's a very delicious, very drinkable beer. I'd be there too much.
• 32:57
[laughs] Well, you don't have to worry about that 'cause we're not going to Fibville. Yeah. We could though. We could. Ooh. Heck, I, I'd drink this, uh- Wait, I should look this up and see where it is on the way through.
• 33:07
Maybe I'll just swing by and- I'll drink this, uh, in Warren- Warrenville. I wonder where- I think it's down 294 way, kind of West Saeed- Hm... I believe. Not positive. Yeah, this is a long drive.
• 33:17
I'm, I'm, you know, with a lot of people in the car. This is gonna test my, uh, patience. How many people are going? Let me do the math. One, two, three, four. Six and two dogs. He was just counting on his toes.
• 33:30
Yeah, six and two dogs. Hm. Up, it's over by Naperville. Naperville? Is that over there- Yeah, that's Chicago... is that, is that off the 294? That's the Chicago area. Uh, kinda, yeah. Yep. Eh. Bolingbrook. Hm.
• 33:44
On the way to Joliet. Joliet. I didn't get to say this- I did an event down here. I remember that. Hm. It was, like, kind of by Romeoville. Hm. Romeoville. Romeoville. Well, they had me running all over the damn city.
• 33:57
Damn city. One of those fun, fun, fun, "Hey, let me do promotions in Chicago for a while. Won't it be fun?" No. "Hm, hm, hm, hm, hm.
• 34:06
Hey, let's go in the far southwest of the city, and then later go to the far northeast." Hm. And then you have to get back into downtown for a Taste of Chicago and somehow get a vehicle into Taste of Chicago- Mm...
• 34:20
as it's going on. Weren't you here yet? That was fun. You know what? That was fun, 'cause I was actually, uh, like almost- That would be-... driving through that... that would be super easy this year. Mm-hmm. Oh, shit.
• 34:29
Yeah. Yeah. [laughs] So somehow last week- Did he?... I neglected to say, uh, just a, a goodbye to a buddy who passed away. Oh, no. My buddy Dave. I, we have been using his coasters, the Sled Works coasters.
• 34:44
Oh, that's right. Um, he's a friend from another hobby, um, um, radio-controlled soaring, which I have been doing for many years. And, uh, kind of sudden. Wasn't corona related apparently, but, uh, he's only...
• 34:58
I mean, he's a 50-year-old guy. You know, he just passed. It's no good. And, uh, wanted to say, "Hey, Dave," 'cause, uh, everybody's headed out to South Dakota this week and
• 35:07
doing some flying in the middle of nowhere, so don't worry about the, uh- Just do it... COVID out there. These are ranches that are 3,000 acre ranches where there's not a- anybody but a cow. Yep. Sounds like a blast.
• 35:19
So good stuff. Judging. Miss you, Dave. Ride on. Cheers to Dave. Cheers, a cheers- Cheers, buddy... of Wizard Staff to you, sir. Hear, hear. Hear, hear. Uh, yeah. I don't know. What else you got?
• 35:33
Anybody got anything else before we wrap this sucker up? We hit a- You know, I just recently saw, I mean, just- Get on your bike and go to work today...
• 35:40
I, I, yeah, I saw that too, but I, I just recently saw that I know you guys thought it was too late. [laughs] You can still get the baby maker. Oh, there's two days left, right?
• 35:53
I hope it's just two fucking days because it's been going on forever. Well, two days goes on for as long as- For f- yeah... the timer keeps resetting- Yeah... on the website, right? Yeah. So, you know- [laughs]...
• 36:01
it's now showing up in every feed. The sense of urgency is, is- I just cannot believe the feeds it shows up on, so- I, well, so now- You told the website is-... we have a YouTube commercial...
• 36:10
the website is currently ovulating, then the time is nigh. You know? A YouTube commercial. [laughs] Yeah. I'm like, come on. Really, guys? I don't get baby maker- You are out promoting-... at all anymore.
• 36:19
I get mattresses 'cause I'm looking for a new mattress. Yeah. Everywhere I go on the web, mattresses follow me. Mattresses, yeah. Well, good luck on that search. Do I get a Nectar? No, I don't. Do I get a Purple? No. No.
• 36:31
Verlo? Quit following me. So I- [laughs] Verlo, maybe you should look at Verlo. I don't know. What I should be looking at more like- Maybe Wisconsin, Verlo Don't get into the-...
• 36:38
brassieres or something, so those [laughs] follow me around. Ask boobs that show up in your links. Don't, don't get the creepy MyPillow guy. Yeah, that guy's... Yeah, do not do that.
• 36:46
With his, with his creepy cross that comes- Yeah, read your Bible... popping out of him no matter whatever. Yeah, I always read your Bible. [laughs] Yeah. And on that note, people, oh, shit.
