- 0:00Speaker 2: no-transcript happy thursday y'all.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Welcome back to Come Out of the Willings.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I'm just adjusting my soaking music in the background here and I'm so grateful that we are in the month of October, y'all.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So thank you, lord, for giving us the opportunity for seeing a new month.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I put up a post I think yesterday maybe it was a couple of days ago about a new month and a new grace, and you know, anytime I start a new month, I am somewhat reflective about some of the things that I was able to accomplish in that month, but I don't drag the carcass of failures into the new month.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It is a new month, it is a new day.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I flipped the page and we have the opportunity, y'all, to get some things right.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And for those of y'all to get some things right, and for those of y'all who've been watching, and again, thank you so much for those of y'all who are watching along on Facebook and LinkedIn and YouTube and Parade Deck and listening to us and all the podcasts, the audio podcast, streets and Audible and Buzzsprouts and everything.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Thank you all for just being such amazing support for me.
- 4:28Speaker 2: When I'm on here, I'm talking to myself.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Sometimes I'm preaching to myself.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Good morning Tracy, faithful Tracy.
- 4:36Speaker 2: He's so good.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So you know, we are in the month of October and I wanted to lean into studying Isaiah and just a little bit more, and looking at Isaiah in more practical terms in ways that I think we can all benefit from.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So I'm starting this week, I'm calling it a practical lesson, but I'm just going to look at my cheat notes a little bit, because, along with these scriptures and teachings that we do on Thursday, we also have live prayers on Monday and Tuesday to kind of back this thing up in a different way.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And then I also have experiences I just want to share with y'all, because this is practical.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I'm not telling you anything that I'm not experiencing for myself and I also really want us to develop and build up our faith in Christ right, to have a more vibrant, powerful, engaging relationship with the Lord, so that you know where to go.
- 5:37Speaker 2: When you need help, right, you know where to go.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So a couple of notes that I had when I was thinking about this first week is there's a scripture, isaiah 11, and I'm going to share my screen and share it with y'all and really the focus is there's a part in the scripture that talks about the spirit of the Lord will rest on him, and it really is thinking about how the Holy Spirit, that's the spirit of the Lord, kind of leads us, empowers us.
- 6:06Speaker 2: He gives us the sevenfold spirit.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So I'll tell you what the sevenfold spirit is Again, hopefully this isn't new.
- 6:15Speaker 2: If this is new to you, then hey, we're learning together.
- 6:18Speaker 2: But the sevenfold spirit wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Spirit wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear.
- 6:27Speaker 2: And then how we apply it to living a more spirit-led life, versus one where I talked about a few weeks ago, versus one where we kind of like knuckle, we're like white, knuckling our way through life.
- 6:37Speaker 2: We're like there's, you know, yeah, there are things going on.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Listen, let me tell you something.
- 6:41Speaker 2: There are things going on.
- 6:43Speaker 2: There is always going to be rumors and rumors of war.
- 6:47Speaker 2: You don't need to be on Facebook and have a quote prophet, tell you that and then say you know, cash at me to tell you more.
- 6:54Speaker 2: There's Holy Spirit living in us.
- 6:56Speaker 2: We therefore have access to certain things, and so that's what we're going to do for the month of October.
- 7:13Speaker 2: We're leaning into Isaiah.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I hope you enjoy this series.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's been such a blessing for me, so I'm going to share my screen because, again, I think this is going to help help you guys help me as well.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And I'm going to be in Isaiah, chapter 11, verses one through five.
- 7:30Speaker 2: This is the A Shelley version cause that's how I do it, all right.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So verse one it talks about there shall come, lord.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I just ask that you'll just open our hearts and minds so we'll receive what you say concerning our individual needs.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I ask that you'll just glorify yourself through me so they'll see you and not me.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Amen, because it ain't about me.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Y'all All right.
- 7:50Speaker 2: So verse one it talks about the stump.
- 7:53Speaker 2: A shoot from the stump of Jesse really is talking about the Lord and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And now in verse two, it talks about the spirit of the Lord resting upon him, upon Lord.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And then, and here are the sevenfold spirits, so the spirit of wisdom, understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So something that I do again, just again, just we're just talking practical right.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Something from a very practical stand that I do is when I am I'm trying to engage the Lord in certain situations.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Really, in my life there are different times when I'll ask for give me the spirit of right, because these are spirits, right.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I'm just telling you what the Bible says, I'm not making it up.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So I'll ask for the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of understanding.
- 8:50Speaker 2: These are things that you know.
- 8:51Speaker 2: You can do this even on the job, y'all, lord, you know, before you go into a meeting, lord, give me the spirit of wisdom and understanding in this meeting so I'll be able to make the right decision.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Before you buy a car, before we interact with anything your coworkers, your colleagues, your spouse I ask for the spirit of counsel and the spirit of might Might is strength, so leaning on his strength to get through certain things and the spirit of counsel counseling me and coaching me through some things.
- 9:22Speaker 2: There are some things that we do, y'all you know, we again, as believers, when we're watching things that are happening around us and we don't.
- 9:29Speaker 2: We can't put two and two together.
- 9:31Speaker 2: We don't understand the big picture, if you will.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And so, as I was the last, one is spirit of knowledge and a fear, as I was driving into the office yesterday morning, the night before, I was sharing this with my good friend and I was telling her that on the way into the office.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I was the night before, you know, when I was going to sleep, I was asking the Lord like, hey, what was your day like?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Call me childish, I just love him, right?
- 10:02Speaker 2: So I was just asking again, every prayer isn't asking something Lord, give me X.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Sometimes it's not even Lord, thank you for X.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Sometimes it's hey, what are you doing today?
- 10:13Speaker 2: So I was having these conversations, if you will, with the Lord about you know, what was your day like?
- 10:19Speaker 2: What did you, what were you up to today?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Because I saw you moving in so many ways and what was happening today.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And so yesterday morning that's how I went to sleep I still had those thoughts and it kind of came into my dreams.
- 10:32Speaker 2: And you know, lord, show me what I need, show me what's important to you, right, what's important to you.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And then on the way in, as I was driving in Wednesday morning, I was kind of confronted with some things about being steady in the mind and I was sharing this with my friend and I was telling her that this season that we're in, where there's a lot of things happening, that this season that we're in, where there's a lot of things happening from if you're in Georgia, you're fully aware, I hope, about a chemical fire that's been happening that could potentially impact people's life, financially, health-wise.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We don't know the outcome right.
- 11:08Speaker 2: We know that there are things a lot of parents are afraid even sending their kids to school.
- 11:13Speaker 2: There's all kinds of things.
- 11:14Speaker 2: There are health issues, there are losses, even literally this morning.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Y'all, just again, just to be personal and open with y'all, even this morning my husband commutes for work and so he was in the garage.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I noticed that he hadn't left yet, which was odd for the timing.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'm like what is going on?
- 11:34Speaker 2: So I went down to just go check and his car wouldn't start and it was taking up so much time that he'm like what is going on?
- 11:37Speaker 2: So I went down to just go check and his car wouldn't start and it was taking up so much time that he was like I'm going to have to use your car.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Well, he has a long commute.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I mean, what am I going to say?
- 11:47Speaker 2: No, right, but I have a very important event today and it was so powerful and it hit me in that moment that the Lord had already seen around.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I was telling some of the other ladies I pray with that he had already seen around the corner to know that I already had a ride to this event through someone else, so I wouldn't be in need of my car.
- 12:10Speaker 2: So it was something that he was showing me about being steady when things happen in your life.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Stop freaking out, stop freaking out, stop freaking out.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And so when I think about the sevenfold spirit because, again, y'all, we have the Holy Spirit right, we have access, you know us in Christ, he in us, right, we're together, right.
- 12:34Speaker 2: It's our approach and our responses just in our everyday life, when you understand that you have access to this sevenfold spirit, that when it says the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of the Lord resting means that there's also a sense of peace.
- 12:54Speaker 2: When you know that God is with you, there is no turmoil.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I get a lot of prayer requests, y'all, and sometimes they come out.
- 13:02Speaker 2: They sound like panic and I know that part of what I am led to do, especially for this Come Out of the Wilderness prayer ministry, is to equip you so that you can pray, not just for me, to pray for you.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You have just as much power and access and authority as I do.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But it's how we respond and that we have to be more steady.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We can't just freak out every time something happens, right.
- 13:30Speaker 2: So I could have been in like, oh no, I need that car today.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And oh Lord, what was me?
- 13:34Speaker 2: Or why would this happen?
- 13:35Speaker 2: I could have been in like, oh no, you know, I need that car today.
- 13:36Speaker 2: And oh Lord, what was me?
- 13:37Speaker 2: Or why would this happen?
- 13:38Speaker 2: I could have done that, but what I did was I paused.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I realized that the Lord saw around the corner, that he had already provided for me, in the same way that he provided for my husband to have access to a car, in the same way that you know what I'm saying Like.
- 13:53Speaker 2: And so just being just thanking God for giving me the spirit of wisdom, right and understanding of what just happened just this morning, and seeing it more of a blessing so that I have peace with what happened, right, not freaking out, right.
- 14:10Speaker 2: And so another, like a practical, you know, practical way, as I'm thinking about again, thinking about again.
- 14:17Speaker 2: The title for this week is you know, the focus is the spirit of the Lord resting on us, and again, how he empowers us.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I ask, you know, lord, give me a fresh, anointing like refresh, lord, in every area of my life I want to be able to discern.
- 14:33Speaker 2: We talked about discerning before God's guidance in my decision, in everything Right.
- 14:40Speaker 2: So how do I?
- 14:41Speaker 2: How do I do that?
- 14:43Speaker 2: How do I have that, that discernment right so that I can live a spirit led life right, not a life that when we talk about um being of the world and not in the world and, you know, not being led by flesh, and what it means is that you're pausing, y'all, so that you can hear.
- 14:59Speaker 2: We have to hear from him.
- 15:01Speaker 2: So a lot of us, we pray.
- 15:02Speaker 2: That means we're speaking, but you got to give God time to respond.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Some of us can't wait for his response, so we start filling in the blanks, we start dictating to him Lord, please save my child and, by the way, give him the job and let him go work, and so on.
- 15:21Speaker 2: So we start dictating what we want him to do and we become the small Gs, small gods.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So even in that, for believers who are again really leaning into really understanding the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, really truly asking for wisdom and understanding, are you good?
- 15:43Speaker 2: How are you going to react?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Do you have a steady mind and, you know, do you have a peace about you?
- 15:49Speaker 2: What if God comes back and says no to that prayer that you have for your child, have for your child.
- 15:59Speaker 2: When he comes back and says, no, I'm not going to release this kid now because I have more things.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I still need to purify him and her.
- 16:02Speaker 2: So they're going to go through this tough period.
- 16:05Speaker 2: What happens to you?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Where is your faith right?
- 16:09Speaker 2: Do you ask for Lord, give me wisdom in this situation?
- 16:13Speaker 2: I don't know the answer, I don't know what you're going to do, but just give me your wisdom and understanding so I know what to do when this thing happens.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Whether you say yes or no, lord, I want to be able to respond in a way.
- 16:26Speaker 2: But give me peace.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And all of these, as we talk about the sevenfold spirit, are things that are kind of characteristics.
- 16:34Speaker 2: When the Holy Spirit is involved in your life, when you have a true relationship, it's just not, you just get such a sense of peace.
- 16:46Speaker 2: It is our reaction, it's our response, right?
- 16:49Speaker 2: So again, really, really practical lessons.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Talking about Isaiah 11, verses one through five, there's one more thing I want to share with you and I think I'm going to keep leaning on this this month especially, and this is in Galatians five.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Y'all can look this up.
- 17:05Speaker 2: This is Galatians five, verse 22 and 23.
- 17:08Speaker 2: And it talks about the fruit of the spirit.
- 17:11Speaker 2: So I always say that you don't need to say I'm a Christian, I'm a believer, that you don't need to say I'm a Christian, I'm a believer.
- 17:21Speaker 2: It is the fruit.
- 17:21Speaker 2: The Holy Spirit being in you produces certain characteristics.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So people can look at your life and tell for real, for real, whose you are.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So, saying I'm a Christian but you have hate for your neighbor.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Saying you're a Christian but you're nothing but chaotic and chaos.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Saying you're a Christian but you're so impatient with strangers.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Saying you're a Christian but you are mean, you know.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Saying you're a Christian but you have no self-control Come on right.
- 17:53Speaker 2: So this is why I want to call this out, because this is what I look at when I look at people.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I look at the fruit, I look at what you produce with your life.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I sometimes listen to what comes out of your mouth, but more so I'm watching the fruit.
- 18:07Speaker 2: So the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And the word says and against such things there is no law, it doesn't change right, there's nothing that's going to come against it.
- 18:24Speaker 2: These are the fruits of the spirit.
- 18:26Speaker 2: So again, as we're again being really practical this month, we're looking at how we can have a better relationship.
- 18:35Speaker 2: The fruits of our spirit, what we produce, what people come to know us as right, how people see us these fruits should be evident and they are evidence of the Holy Spirit being in us.
- 18:50Speaker 2: So I'm going to encourage you today to go back in Isaiah 11, y'all, we're going to work this thing out through the book of Isaiah.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I think this is really, really going to bless us, y'all.
- 19:01Speaker 2: We're in the month of October.
- 19:03Speaker 2: It is a new month.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Like I said, that means that we leave any you know what didn't work out in September.
- 19:11Speaker 2: We leave it there.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Anything that you know fell apart, leave it there.
- 19:15Speaker 2: We're starting over.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It is a new month and we're going to flip the page right.
- 19:19Speaker 2: It's okay to do that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: So this month, let's lean into more practical understandings of how the Holy Spirit works, what to look for in yourself.
- 19:29Speaker 2: And I'm not telling you to go get a notebook and start judging other people and say, well, I don't see all seven, see all fruits in your life.
- 19:41Speaker 2: This is, this is for you, that that he will reveal to you these things in your life, right, purify you so that you can produce these things.
- 19:50Speaker 2: And, as the word says, seek you first.
- 19:52Speaker 2: The kingdom of God Right, and it says comma, and all of these things will be added onto you.
- 19:57Speaker 2: The kingdom of God right, and it says comma, and all of these things will be added onto you.
- 20:00Speaker 2: So all the things that you stand in need of material, health, physical all of those things are added onto you.
- 20:07Speaker 2: If you seek meaning, you're focused, you're studying, you're disciplined, you're focused on building your relationship with the Lord, Everything that you stand in need of he will provide.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Now, that requires trust, number one, and that requires faith, number two.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You either trust God to work things out and you have to believe that he will right.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It requires trust and faith.
- 20:29Speaker 2: So I hope that blesses y'all, really practical y'all for the rest of this month.
- 20:34Speaker 2: We're walking through this Christian life, believer life, jesus follower life whatever title you use but really, really, you know being practical and let's just be honest about where we are in our walk.
- 20:45Speaker 2: If you're still a Christian, that's like you feel like your prayers aren't being answered or you know you go into just panic mode every time, then this is where you know.
- 20:57Speaker 2: This is an opportunity for you and for me to come before the Lord and say you know, I need, I need to trust you, show me how to improve.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Holy Spirit, you know, guide me, teach me, give me instruction, show me what to do, cause I don't want to live a life like this.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I don't want to be in panic mode when things fall apart.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I want to be able to be at peace.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I want to be able to see your grace and your goodness and your blessings and your mercy in my life.
- 21:22Speaker 2: That's what I want.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I want to live a life where I'm a blessing to the people around me, whether they like me or not.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I want to be a blessing to those he's put in my path.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Y'all you know.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Maybe that's your prayer, lord, if you're in a family where you've had kind of like a continuous, like a history of poverty or pain, lord, I want to break that cycle of poverty in my life.
- 21:48Speaker 2: So teach me how, show me how, but before he can give you those tools, before he can give you those connections, before he can give you those inspiration, or, you know, before he, you know, okay, if you want to come out of poverty, you're going to have to, you know, think about taking care of your finances this way or whatever.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Before you even get to that, you have to ask for wisdom and understanding.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Right, ask him, ask for those things wisdom and understanding, his counsel and might and knowledge.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Giving you knowledge so that you'll know what to do when you get the instructions.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Downloads are great, but if you don't know what to do with it, if you don't know how to activate when God is giving you ideas, then you're just wasting your time and that's why people get frustrated.
- 22:33Speaker 2: So, lord, I thank you for just very practically teaching us this morning how to activate you in our life, how to have a better, stronger, more engaged walk with you.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Holy Spirit, I thank you for teaching us again about the sevenfold spirit, teaching us about how to pray and even what to expect and how we build a better relationship with you.
- 22:54Speaker 2: There's so many of us who are standing in need of many things, lord God, and you know everything that's happening all around us.
- 23:01Speaker 2: But most of all, I ask that you would just give all of us this morning just peace.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Give us peace, give us peace in this season.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Give us knowledge and understanding and wisdom and your counsel, so that we can make the right decision concerning our lives, our finance, our children, our jobs, everything around us.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Just open our eyes so that we can see the way that you want us to go, and I ask, lord, that you'll use us to bless our neighbors and our families and our friends and even strangers, lord, that we won't be hypocrites.
- 23:34Speaker 2: We won't be hypocrites, we won't turn our back on those who stand in need.
- 23:37Speaker 2: And, lord, I ask that we won't be hypocrites.
- 23:37Speaker 2: We won't be hypocrites, we won't turn our back on those who stand in need.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And, lord, I ask that you'll just bless every person under the sound of my voice, who is even those who are still in the job market, those who are still looking for homes and those who have been impacted by the weather and the chemical fire and the job strikes and the job losses and health scares and loss of children and family members and jailed loved ones and, all in everyone that stands in need.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I pray that you will give them peace as you work these things out, lord.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I pray that you'll even maybe give them a glimpse of what's to come, so that they won't lose hope and they won't lose faith and, more than anything, that you'll give them an encounter today so that they're reminded that they're not alone.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And so, even if it is my voice that tells them, lord God, use me as your vessel to tell them that they are not alone and that they will be encouraged to just hold on one more day as you work things out.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I thank you, lord, for this platform.
- 24:34Speaker 2: I thank you for this amazing day.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Bless us, lord, amen Y'all.
- 24:42Speaker 2: So this month of Thursday, this month of October remember, in September we were praying for first responders and we were praying for healthcare workers.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Well, in the month of October we pray for single parents.
- 24:57Speaker 2: So every Thursday, at one o'clock, seven o'clock PM Eastern, there's a free phone number.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Scrolling, if you're listening on the audio series, you can pick up the phone number 516-259-9337.
- 25:12Speaker 2: If you're in the US, you can call that phone number for single parents.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Pass that number Single parents who need, you know, maybe a little support.
- 25:22Speaker 2: But it's 30 minutes of prayer, there is no seed needed, there is no charge, it is private.
- 25:28Speaker 2: So y'all come on and the three praying sisters will be there.
- 25:32Speaker 2: So that phone number, again in the US, is 516-259-9337.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Y'all, single parents, we got you.
- 25:40Speaker 2: We got you All right, all right, I love y'all.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Have an amazing, amazing day ahead.
- 25:45Speaker 2: I will be back next Thursday and God bless you.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Please be kind to yourself today.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Okay, be kind to yourself, take care.
