- 0:22Speaker 2: It is a Friday morning, February twenty seven. And a
- 0:27Speaker 2: quick word about podcasting, because obviously we do three hours
- 0:33Speaker 2: on the show, and very few people are able to
- 0:36Speaker 2: listen for three hours or even thirty minutes or even
- 0:43Speaker 2: three minutes some people, and some even thirty seconds and
- 0:47Speaker 2: they go, we've had enough of you.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Bill.
- 0:49Speaker 2: The point is, if you have missed any of our segments,

- 1:03Speaker 2: with their show.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's kind of fun.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So with that, and this is podcastable, although you don't
- 1:09Speaker 2: have to because you're listening to it is Foody Friday
- 1:12Speaker 2: with Neil Savedra Neil host of the FOK Report. That's
- 1:15Speaker 2: tomorrow from two to five pm and Neil, let's start
- 1:20Speaker 2: and fast food. We generally do fast food because both
- 1:23Speaker 2: Neil and I like fast food because we are extraordinarily healthy,
- 1:28Speaker 2: because that's just one of the things we do. Neil
- 1:31Speaker 2: particularly eating really healthy food exercising like crazy to keep
- 1:37Speaker 2: himself in shade.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Just a few demons out.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah you have? Yeah, all right, let's do it at
- 1:45Speaker 2: McDonald's favorite International McDonald's Favorite coming to the US.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so, you know, I remember, gosh, where were we
- 1:55Speaker 3: You and I were at a I'm trying to think
- 1:58Speaker 3: where we were. Was it Brazil when we were at
- 1:59Speaker 3: the CAFC or something together?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Oh?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, the one with feathers.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yeah, no, but I will tell you it is one
- 2:06Speaker 3: of the things that I'm fascinated with. McDonald's is such
- 2:09Speaker 3: an American icon that when I do travel internationally, I'm
- 2:13Speaker 3: fascinated by how they interpret you know, American fast food culture.
- 2:20Speaker 3: And the fries are always the exact same thing, but
- 2:24Speaker 3: the burgers often are different as to how they execute them.
- 2:27Speaker 3: And one of the ones that I've tried abroad is
- 2:31Speaker 3: the Arch.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It is the.
- 2:34Speaker 3: This this big Arch burger, and it's internationally all over
- 2:39Speaker 3: the place, one of the biggest and most favored burgers.
- 2:43Speaker 3: But they don't have it here, and they're bringing it here.
- 2:45Speaker 1: What is it? It is?
- 2:47Speaker 3: It's two quarter pound patties with three slices of white cheddar.
- 2:54Speaker 3: It has a special sauce on it that it's kind
- 2:59Speaker 3: of a light tomato wheat sauce. Okay, it has bo
- 3:04Speaker 3: sesame seeds and some poppy seeds on the bun. It
- 3:08Speaker 3: has lettuce, it has tomatoes, and it has both crunchy
- 3:12Speaker 3: and raw onions on it. It's a pretty damn good burger.
- 3:17Speaker 3: But this will be the first time it comes out
- 3:20Speaker 3: on the third, so early next week it's headed to
- 3:23Speaker 3: US restaurants, and I think it's going to be a
- 3:25Speaker 3: pretty big hit.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds good. And I'm not a big McDonald's
- 3:29Speaker 2: guy either. I like McDonald's. I know that their crap,
- 3:33Speaker 2: but you know, the fries are tasty. Yeah, fries do
- 3:36Speaker 2: a good job and they like the soft serve ice cream.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I love that they do a great job with that.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So okay, I am. And yeah, when it's working.
- 3:48Speaker 2: There was that story that we did or several times,
- 3:50Speaker 2: a story about how the machines.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Never work anywhere, and it is.
- 3:54Speaker 2: When you talk about McDonald's overseas, I think of the
- 3:57Speaker 2: two most the most successful in McDonald's franchises, I think
- 4:02Speaker 2: in the world, one is Beijing and these are supermarket
- 4:05Speaker 2: seis McDonald's. Oh yeah, one is Beijing and the other
- 4:07Speaker 2: one is Moscow and it's a line out the door
- 4:11Speaker 2: and it's one hundred thousand square feet inside.
- 4:13Speaker 3: They're completely different. When we were in Italy for your
- 4:17Speaker 3: wedding last year, almost coming up on a year bub,
- 4:23Speaker 3: we went to one outside of Milan and it was
- 4:29Speaker 3: massive and it was like a party, like young kids
- 4:33Speaker 3: were hanging out there. And we've been to other ones
- 4:37Speaker 3: like that too. The best burger I've ever had at
- 4:41Speaker 3: a McDonald's internationally was in Jerusalem. It was a fantastic burger.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And then the worst was in Brazil. They had this
- 4:48Speaker 3: weird local burger at a McDonald's. They had this brown
- 4:52Speaker 3: sauce on it.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it was horrible, but but you're right. The one
- 4:55Speaker 2: in Jerusalem, the jew burger is very very strong. The
- 5:01Speaker 2: McCoy that's actually even funnier. That's actually even funnier. I
- 5:06Speaker 2: have to give that to you. They have in uh gosh,
- 5:10Speaker 2: where was oh India? They have the Maharaja Burger.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It was curry on it. No, it's it's actually chicken based.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They don't have any beef.
- 5:20Speaker 2: No beef walks around on the streets and people bow
- 5:24Speaker 2: down to beef.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Go fight wilt.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't move a cow you know there. Holy
- 5:29Speaker 3: cow is literal there. But one thing they did have
- 5:32Speaker 3: at the McDonald's in in India was interesting, and I
- 5:37Speaker 3: don't think I've seen it anywhere else here or abroad.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Was they had this clear plexiglass container, like a you know,
- 5:45Speaker 3: a place where you'd put billets or you know, vote
- 5:48Speaker 3: for something or whatever. But if you didn't use the condiment,
- 5:52Speaker 3: the little packet of ketchup or mayo or whatever, you'd
- 5:55Speaker 3: put it back in that thing.
- 5:56Speaker 1: They would steam them, clean them and reuse them. You
- 6:00Speaker 1: know what.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That makes sense because many of those little packets are
- 6:03Speaker 2: thrown away. People throw them out of here because people
- 6:06Speaker 2: always put they always grabs far more than they need.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And I thought that was.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Interesting place i've seen it and then you can find
- 6:14Speaker 3: I think it was Thailand. Uh and I forgot what
- 6:16Speaker 3: they they they call it. But when you put your
- 6:19Speaker 3: hands together in bow, that's Ronald McDonald. The statue of
- 6:23Speaker 3: Ronald McDonald is doing that. I can't remember the name
- 6:26Speaker 3: of what that's called, but it's fascinating. But now you know,
- 6:30Speaker 3: we rarely a lot of McDonald's across the world have
- 6:34Speaker 3: a lot of you know, pizza's, spaghetti all these different things,
- 6:38Speaker 3: much different than they do here. And now the big
- 6:40Speaker 3: Archburger is going to be coming on March.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Third text, all right, all right, uh Neil, And this
- 6:45Speaker 2: one is a really strange sentence. There's a new way
- 6:49Speaker 2: to enjoy veggies. Now, veggie's are great. Speaking of our
- 6:53Speaker 2: buddy Mark Thompson, veggiees are great, man, Yeah, Mark, Well
- 6:57Speaker 2: you know Mark looks better than we do. My friend,
- 6:59Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, he could bench press both of us.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's a lot of people don't know this.
- 7:04Speaker 3: He's one hundred and seventy years old. He looks forty.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah he does. And he's and he's a vegan.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what he has. Superpowers. Yeah, Mark also is
- 7:14Speaker 3: a vegan. She could bench press us too.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Absolutely, you're not a vegan. I'm not a vegan.
- 7:19Speaker 3: No, although I would only be vegan if my doctor
- 7:24Speaker 3: said I absolutely had to. And it's not because I
- 7:27Speaker 3: don't think that you know, they're there, it's viable. I
- 7:29Speaker 3: think there's wonderful things to it. I just think we're omnivores.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, my doctor said I have to be a vegan.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I tellical pound sand Okay, moving on, how do we
- 7:39Speaker 2: enjoy veggies in a different wonderful way.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Veggies are great, but I feel like we don't prepare
- 7:46Speaker 3: veggies properly here in the States. We don't utilize that.
- 7:49Speaker 3: We kind of make them aside, and we don't think
- 7:51Speaker 3: of them as you know what they are, which is
- 7:54Speaker 3: richly nutritious and colorful and bright and sweet and lovely
- 7:59Speaker 3: and tend overcook them or what have you. But this
- 8:02Speaker 3: I was kind of blown away ROAs sevenseeeds dot com.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Their company Row seven Row the number seven, and you
- 8:11Speaker 3: can find these on their website Rows seven seeds dot
- 8:16Speaker 3: com or in your local whole foods. But do you
- 8:21Speaker 3: remember how a couple of years ago it was really
- 8:23Speaker 3: popular to get fish tins. Sardines were coming back in restaurants.
- 8:28Speaker 3: A lot of the fish tins were coming back. Well,
- 8:31Speaker 3: these are in similar sardine type cans, but you've got
- 8:35Speaker 3: sweet prince tomatoes, you've got badger beats, and they're an
- 8:41Speaker 3: extra virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar sweet garlak. This
- 8:46Speaker 3: is like a Dijon mustard and white balsamic vinegar glaze.
- 8:50Speaker 3: But inside is this combination of leaks and garlic. And
- 8:55Speaker 3: not only can you snack on these and eat them
- 8:58Speaker 3: directly from the tin. But you could throw them on
- 9:01Speaker 3: top of a pasta, you could put them in a salad,
- 9:04Speaker 3: and they're beautifully and very chef forward in the combinations
- 9:09Speaker 3: that they make. And I just thought they were gorgeous.
- 9:12Speaker 3: They look appetizing, and what a way to add a
- 9:16Speaker 3: little you know, veggies and color into your meal. That
- 9:19Speaker 3: is easy, you know, put them on a toastini or
- 9:22Speaker 3: a piece of crusty bread and you could have a nice,
- 9:26Speaker 3: simple breakfast. I just think they're gorgeous, and I love
- 9:29Speaker 3: the combinations of those white balsamic vinegars and the red
- 9:36Speaker 3: wine vinegar that's with the sweet prince tomatoes.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Neil, let me ask you, and you and I have
- 9:42Speaker 2: talked about this. Is it even possible to have good
- 9:46Speaker 2: tasting vegetables if they're not breaded and deep fried?
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yes, it is. I love vegetable. I think we overcook
- 9:53Speaker 3: veggies in the States. We like them kind of mushy.
- 9:56Speaker 1: No, we don't.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Everybody likes them, albente, No one likes some mushy, that's
- 10:00Speaker 2: what you say. But we grow up with them being
- 10:02Speaker 2: too Yeah, we grew Yeah, we grew up with the mushi.
- 10:04Speaker 2: The canned beans that were you know, green beans that
- 10:08Speaker 2: were like most sad used to that.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I like them, well, a little crisp, little like you said,
- 10:12Speaker 3: a little toothy, a little audente. But you know, think
- 10:15Speaker 3: about it, just some toast. Beats I know are very earthy,
- 10:19Speaker 3: but they can't be really like I really.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Do like beats, beats solid.
- 10:23Speaker 2: That's just it's wonderful. A lot of people don't. Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 2: very quickly, we only have a couple of minutes. Trader Joe's, Yes,
- 10:30Speaker 2: the two dollars snack. I'm a big fan of Trader
- 10:33Speaker 2: Joe's and they.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Have great snacks. They have really really wonderful snacks. And
- 10:37Speaker 3: there's this one that is back and it's two bucks
- 10:41Speaker 3: for a bag of it. They're the giant Peruvian Inca
- 10:45Speaker 3: corn snacks. They're salted, they're crispy, they're they're lightly puffed,
- 10:51Speaker 3: and people dig them and they're back for a little
- 10:55Speaker 3: bit and they're kind of they're kind of like their
- 10:59Speaker 3: version of corn nuts. I think they're better than corn nuts.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I like the texture of these better. But they're back
- 11:06Speaker 3: and people love them. They're buying them, you know, three
- 11:10Speaker 3: bags deep. When they're going in there.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Every time I buy corn nuts.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Buy mistake, I buy corn nuts, and I'm really disappointed
- 11:19Speaker 2: that it's not candy corn because I am the only
- 11:23Speaker 2: human being on the face of this earth that likes
- 11:26Speaker 2: candy corn. In reality, I don't, so there are no
- 11:30Speaker 2: human beings on the face of this earth.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Felt like corn is a weird thing.
- 11:34Speaker 3: You know what's funny is you trace that back the
- 11:36Speaker 3: reason why they did candy corn. You go back. It
- 11:39Speaker 3: wasn't even necessarily for Halloween. Originally it was because ninety
- 11:44Speaker 3: percent of the United States was a grariant back in
- 11:48Speaker 3: the day, Like everybody's job was a farm job, and
- 11:52Speaker 3: it was a familiar site for kids and fun and
- 11:55Speaker 3: playful and that. But that's where it comes from, the
- 11:58Speaker 3: fact that everybody was working on a farm back in
- 12:01Speaker 3: the early days of the US.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Okay, tomorrow two to five folk reported, bro.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it is the fok Report Tomorrow two to five PM. Okay,
- 12:11Speaker 1: we now have a lot of people.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The most fun segment of the week and that's ask
- 12:19Speaker 2: ask handle anything for the sole purpose of embarrassing me.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And the way it works, and we started again on
- 12:25Speaker 2: Monday with your help is during the course of the show,
- 12:29Speaker 2: you go to the iHeartRadio app and we're streaming the show,
- 12:35Speaker 2: and you click on the microphone in the other upper
- 12:38Speaker 2: right hand corner and just record a question, and then
- 12:40Speaker 2: Neil chooses the questions to embarrass me.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So let's start right into it. Okay, Cono. First question, Hey, handle.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I was just curious to know who pays for everyone's
- 12:52Speaker 5: home offices and also what's the costs?
- 12:58Speaker 1: That's a good question. I pay for mine. I paid
- 13:01Speaker 1: for mine.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, case, if we think KFI is going to pay
- 13:03Speaker 2: for only, we can't get a box of pencils from KFI,
- 13:06Speaker 2: much less paying for a home In COVID, they made
- 13:10Speaker 2: sure to set it up in most all ideas during COVID,
- 13:13Speaker 2: I paid for mine. They didn't set up jack. They
- 13:16Speaker 2: let me borrow one for a small amount of time.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Then I bought my stuff. But Dari and Shannon were
- 13:20Speaker 2: the only hosts that came in. Maybe COBL came in too. Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 2: So okay, So there it is. I pay for it
- 13:27Speaker 2: and what did it cost. I've built a few of
- 13:31Speaker 2: them because I moved from you always spent way more.
- 13:34Speaker 1: No, no, not my last one, not my last one.
- 13:36Speaker 2: The last one I actually got a pretty reasonable price.
- 13:41Speaker 1: So the answer is, I don't know.
- 13:42Speaker 2: You can build a really sophisticated, uh today a studio,
- 13:49Speaker 2: assuming you have the space, maybe fifteen twenty thousand dollars
- 13:52Speaker 2: and now are you kidding?
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's very high end. Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Listen, the microphone I use is before all about Yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 3: then a roadcaster is about six hundred.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you go through your.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Company get it, but then you go but then you
- 14:06Speaker 2: go to some of the most expensive soundproofing that you
- 14:11Speaker 2: can possibly get, and get.
- 14:12Speaker 1: None in here. I have heard it, sure, I know.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Well, okay, so anyway, I think it's maybe fifteen thousand
- 14:17Speaker 2: in my mind.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Oh my god. Okay, it doesn't matter. They weren't paying
- 14:20Speaker 1: for it, so mine's under fifteen hundred. Yours is gee. Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 1: and you and you do better radio than I do. Okay.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Second question word, here's.
- 14:29Speaker 4: The question for ask Campbell anything handle. Did you wear
- 14:32Speaker 4: a wedding ring when you were married to Marjorie and
- 14:35Speaker 4: I saw it in your video? You don't being married
- 14:38Speaker 4: to Lindsay, So I'm curious as to why you don't
- 14:41Speaker 4: wear a wedding ring. No, if you profess deep and
- 14:45Speaker 4: binding commitment, yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It's very fun. No, I do, I do not wear.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I do not wear a wedding ring. I've never known
- 14:52Speaker 1: you to wear.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never worn a wedding ring. I mean there
- 14:56Speaker 2: was with the Lindsay thing. I did put a ring
- 14:58Speaker 2: on and I took it right off after the ceremony.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And it's just I just don't wear rings.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Water.
- 15:04Speaker 1: That's very funny.
- 15:05Speaker 2: The only thing I've ever worn as a piece of
- 15:09Speaker 2: jewelry was a Prince Albert that I did my gosh,
- 15:13Speaker 2: a smaller knocker desk a small period of time.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Okay, let's why wait why it was interesting, you know,
- 15:21Speaker 3: I mean not.
- 15:22Speaker 1: The Prince Albert, you wing nut? Why do you not wear?
- 15:26Speaker 1: I still go back to your construction.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I just don't know congress construction, a like
- 15:31Speaker 2: I hammered nails.
- 15:33Speaker 1: No, it was just I'm just not into any kind
- 15:35Speaker 1: of jewelry.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I don't wear my watch. My twenty eight dollars time
- 15:39Speaker 2: X watch is the only thing I wear.
- 15:40Speaker 1: It's got jew right in the name jewelry.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Ah, your good point. Okay, that was not very funny.
- 15:48Speaker 2: All right, Okay, the last segment of Ask Me Anything
- 15:51Speaker 2: or ask Handle Anything, Let's go for it.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Hey, Bill, do you love Neil and I'm not saying
- 15:58Speaker 4: that in a prever to wear or anything.
- 16:00Speaker 1: But you know, do you love him? If so, you
- 16:03Speaker 1: should tell him so on her.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I only tell him I love him when we have sex,
- 16:10Speaker 2: to be honest with you.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Otherwise I normally don't never looks me in the eye. No,
- 16:16Speaker 1: that's very funny, that's very funny. So tell me. Do
- 16:19Speaker 1: you love me? I do love you. I love you too.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah. We Yeah, it's uh, you know, we go outside
- 16:25Speaker 2: and we look at nature and you know, the sun sets,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and we hold we hold hands and you know, just
- 16:32Speaker 2: walk down the beach and just it's wonderful.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, barefoot. I could do better. Yeah, yeah, no, but
- 16:38Speaker 1: I Neil. How long have we been friends? Thirty years?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Thirty years? And he was best man in well be
- 16:43Speaker 1: gay the first day I met. I did.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Actually I remember that. I'll never hearing because you had
- 16:48Speaker 2: a hearing. Yeah you did. I was fabulous. Okay, next question.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Bill, I often you know you do these? Uh? I
- 16:55Speaker 6: guess you called commercials about gold and you explain how
- 16:59Speaker 6: it's one of the best and you made. Wouldn't you
- 17:01Speaker 6: consider your children your best investment that you ever made?
- 17:05Speaker 6: For this reason? Won't they be the ones that will
- 17:08Speaker 6: be taking care of you and your golden years.
- 17:11Speaker 2: No, the answer is they will not be taking care
- 17:13Speaker 2: of me and my golden years. If you ever my children,
- 17:15Speaker 2: you would know that. Now. As far as gold is concerned,
- 17:20Speaker 2: I actually wasn't going to buy gold, but if you
- 17:22Speaker 2: look at how much it has gone up, and frankly,
- 17:26Speaker 2: when things get and I do the commercial, and I do,
- 17:28Speaker 2: and I've never done gold commercials. I've been asked to
- 17:30Speaker 2: do gold commercials since I started broadcasting, and I never would.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But it's reached the point where the economy is totally
- 17:37Speaker 2: different today. So no, my kids will never take care
- 17:39Speaker 2: of me, no chance. And it's and my kids will
- 17:42Speaker 2: your new wife.
- 17:43Speaker 1: That's true, that's true. I'm gone here half the time. Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I'm gone.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Let me tell you when I get old in decrepit, No,
- 17:48Speaker 2: they're all going to be hanging around me tapping their
- 17:50Speaker 2: watches on my deathbed saying, you know, we got things
- 17:53Speaker 2: to do tonight, let's speed it up your pants.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, it'll be great, it will be great.
- 17:58Speaker 2: But no, my kids are not the best investment I've
- 18:00Speaker 2: ever had, not be a long shot.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Moving on, You used to be a decent looking man,
- 18:09Speaker 5: until you lost so much weight that your face is
- 18:12Speaker 5: ugly and you look twenty years older. So can you
- 18:16Speaker 5: explain why you think you look so much better than
- 18:20Speaker 5: kneel all the traffic men.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Okay, it's not that I look so much better, it's
- 18:26Speaker 2: Neil looking so much worse.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So you're looking at it the wrong way. And I
- 18:31Speaker 1: never consider myself particularly good looking.
- 18:33Speaker 2: But compared to Neil, Yeah, I mean I could have
- 18:38Speaker 2: my face full of zets on.
- 18:40Speaker 1: The face is ugly, Yes it is. I couldn't agree more.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I you know, I'm the one that's to look in
- 18:46Speaker 2: the mirror every morning, not you.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I'm the one that's suffering here, you psycho bitch. This
- 18:53Speaker 1: is my problem, not yours.
- 18:59Speaker 2: That's a problem. Oh, by the way, that is a promo,
- 19:02Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now. Okay, next question.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Hey, Bill, if Monday you're gonna do retro radio, does
- 19:08Speaker 1: that mean we're gonna get maybe.
- 19:09Speaker 3: A half hour of radio tradio where people call in
- 19:12Speaker 3: and try to sell their crap hope?
- 19:14Speaker 5: So?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Oh, you know that was part of it too when
- 19:16Speaker 2: we first started doing radio. I remember, remember it was
- 19:19Speaker 2: radio tradio and people literally had stuff to sell, And
- 19:23Speaker 2: I remember a guy had an earthworm farm and he
- 19:27Speaker 2: sold earthworms for bait. And then a guy had a
- 19:31Speaker 2: pilot chicken wire that he had to sell a couple
- 19:35Speaker 2: of roles of that. I remember that. It was terrific.
- 19:38Speaker 2: You want to hear the song. I remember it. It
- 19:41Speaker 2: goes to Beverly Hillbillies.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Let me tell you a story about a man named
- 19:46Speaker 3: Bill had a radio show and he had some time
- 19:48Speaker 3: to kill.
- 19:49Speaker 1: He asked his producer Metalin.
- 19:50Speaker 3: She said, I don't know, so he filled an hour
- 19:52Speaker 3: straight with radio radio less than a three shared David G.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Hall nightmare. Yeah don't.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I don't know if we're gonna do that, but we
- 20:02Speaker 2: are going to do retro radio, and I make fun
- 20:05Speaker 2: of you know, we're going to talk about whether we
- 20:07Speaker 2: should get out of Vietnam or not.
- 20:08Speaker 1: That was in the sixties.
- 20:11Speaker 2: When I was a teenager listening to radio in the
- 20:14Speaker 2: late sixties, it was it was yeah, no, it was
- 20:19Speaker 2: literally that was the number one topic by a long shot.
- 20:22Speaker 1: So I thought we'd go revisit that. Shouldn't we get
- 20:24Speaker 1: out of Vietnam? Yes?
- 20:25Speaker 5: Or no?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Okay, another question.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Hey, Bill, what piece of advice would you give to
- 20:30Speaker 3: someone who might be interested in a career in radio.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You are dreaming. I mean, you are completely crazy. But
- 20:42Speaker 2: then the same thing, I give the same advice as
- 20:44Speaker 2: someone wants to be a lawyer.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You're out of your mind. I want no, now you can't.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I want to be in TV. No you don't.
- 20:51Speaker 2: So the advice is, don't do it.
- 20:54Speaker 1: It literally is.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I mean we are I think in terms of terrestrial radio,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we may be at the back end of this.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Certainly it wasn't the same. It's different. It's different.
- 21:04Speaker 3: What if they want to what if he wants to
- 21:07Speaker 3: get into Channel five TV news?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Uh, you know what, that's right, they just fired everybody. Yeah, yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 2: you could do that. It's it's podcasting is the way
- 21:19Speaker 2: to go. But the problem is podcasting there are four
- 21:21Speaker 2: hundred thousand podcasters out there where how many talk radio stations?
- 21:24Speaker 2: I mean, we have five positions here effectively five day
- 21:27Speaker 2: parts on KFI, so that means five that's it. We
- 21:31Speaker 2: don't have hundreds of thousands. So uh yeah, my advice
- 21:34Speaker 2: to say, staying away from it. Uh yeah, I mean
- 21:38Speaker 2: that's my advice. Okay, moving on, Bill Handle.
- 21:42Speaker 7: I hope you will answer this one. I've asked it
- 21:44Speaker 7: several times, but it doesn't seem to get on.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Do you think it's.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Funny to tell people to kill themselves? You've done it
- 21:54Speaker 7: several times, just wondering if you think it's funny, that's
- 21:57Speaker 7: why you continue to say it, or why do.
- 22:02Speaker 1: You say it?
- 22:03Speaker 2: Yeah, well, okay, that's fair. Yes, I think it is funny.
- 22:08Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, I would even use the
- 22:10Speaker 2: word hilarious.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Uh.
- 22:11Speaker 2: And that is simply part of my legal advice as
- 22:13Speaker 2: well as other advice, because if you look around, you
- 22:16Speaker 2: look at life, you know it's not it's not so wonderful.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Come home, to come to my house and enjoy a
- 22:22Speaker 2: dinner at my house and see what I'm like with
- 22:25Speaker 2: my family. You would tell me to kill myself. It's
- 22:29Speaker 2: it's not that complicated. Yes, I do think it's funny.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I am fairly serious about it. So as a matter
- 22:36Speaker 2: of fact, we are. And when I finished with Jim,
- 22:39Speaker 2: I say go kill someone, and I mean it with
- 22:41Speaker 2: Jim Keeney every Wednesday.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So that is it.
- 22:44Speaker 2: We're done, and I'm gonna end the show. Gary Shanner
- 22:48Speaker 2: up next. I'm going to end the show with a salutation.
- 22:51Speaker 2: You know, Dean says, I have a wonderful life. I'm
- 22:54Speaker 2: gonna end with go kill Someone. This is KFI A six.
- 23:02Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Catch my Show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
- 23:07Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
