- 0:02Speaker 1: The Mets fire Carlos Mendoza. Remember, after last year not
- 0:07Speaker 1: making the playoffs and collapsing down the stretch, they got
- 0:09Speaker 1: it Basically their entire coaching staff besides Mendy. In the
- 0:13Speaker 1: off season, they did a lot of things. It is
- 0:16Speaker 1: not working. Mendy has been let go. Andy Green will
- 0:20Speaker 1: take over as interim manager. We're showing you some of
- 0:23Speaker 1: the statements from the team and then also from Steve Cohen.
- 0:27Speaker 1: They also called it Carlos Mendoza's departure. I mean he
- 0:33Speaker 1: got fired unless I'm missing something there, and Cohen later
- 0:37Speaker 1: said in the statement, I'm not going to read the
- 0:39Speaker 1: whole thing.
- 0:39Speaker 2: No sugarcoating it.
- 0:40Speaker 1: This season has been a disappointment, and our fans deserve
- 0:43Speaker 1: better than what we've delivered. Todfather. They did trade David
- 0:48Speaker 1: Peterson the other day. That doesn't mean they're trading the farm.
- 0:50Speaker 1: They They've put out there publicly to writers like, we're
- 0:53Speaker 1: not trading everyone yet.
- 0:55Speaker 2: But let's be real about where they are in the.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Standings, and maybe they're trying to catch lighting in a
- 1:00Speaker 1: bottle like the Phillies did with Don Mattingly taking over
- 1:02Speaker 1: for Top Topp, or just like Topper did years back
- 1:05Speaker 1: for Girardi.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But let's be real here, where are we at.
- 1:08Speaker 3: We're in They're in some trouble. I mean, let's just
- 1:10Speaker 3: keep it real. You know, the biggest thing with them
- 1:13Speaker 3: is honestly, they they need leadership. I think that's part
- 1:17Speaker 3: of the reason why everything is going down. I thought
- 1:21Speaker 3: Mendoza a great guy. Everything else. New York Queens. It's
- 1:25Speaker 3: hard man playing there for almost three years. It seems
- 1:29Speaker 3: like there was always an issue. It seemed like there
- 1:32Speaker 3: was always a.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Problem and there's no way of getting out of it.
- 1:34Speaker 3: You know, whether you know it's an incident here, or
- 1:37Speaker 3: you know they're struggling, or you know this guy's doing this,
- 1:41Speaker 3: and it gets a lot of it gets blown out
- 1:42Speaker 3: of proportion.
- 1:43Speaker 4: As we see.
- 1:45Speaker 3: A lot of it is very important, as we also see.
- 1:48Speaker 3: But they're not winning, they're not clicking. The Cubs came
- 1:52Speaker 3: into town and did whatever they wanted to them and
- 1:55Speaker 3: basically away they went. Man, it's just not a good
- 1:58Speaker 3: scene right now. And you know, looking at this season,
- 2:01Speaker 3: you know you got Juan Soto in the building and
- 2:03Speaker 3: you can't do nothing with it. I talked about it before.
- 2:05Speaker 3: You didn't pick up a couple of contracts. Edwin Diaz,
- 2:08Speaker 3: you gotta find a way to bring that guy back.
- 2:10Speaker 3: How are you letting Pete Alonzo go? One of the
- 2:13Speaker 3: best hitters in baseball, Brandon Nemo a prolific hitter that's
- 2:17Speaker 3: two seventy or higher. Even Jeff McNeilly had a bad year.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I still love Jeff McNeil. He was perfect there. So
- 2:23Speaker 3: you know, maybe I'm biased because I play with those guys,
- 2:26Speaker 3: but you know, to say, oh, we haven't been winning
- 2:28Speaker 3: because of these guys, or we need new people in there,
- 2:32Speaker 3: these guys have been doing it. They made it to
- 2:33Speaker 3: the playoffs. They you know, they lost to the Dodgers
- 2:36Speaker 3: the year. Yeah, okay, everybody did. But guess what, it
- 2:40Speaker 3: just hasn't been working out. Man, And I wish Mendos
- 2:43Speaker 3: are the best. I like him, Man, good dude, but
- 2:45Speaker 3: I guess it was time for a change.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Mendy's the man. I don't care who you could add
- 2:51Speaker 5: Tony Larutz in his prime. You could have had Charlie
- 2:54Speaker 5: Manu and his prime. This team was not built to
- 2:58Speaker 5: have team success. In my opinion, I think they had
- 3:02Speaker 5: a lot of hopes. They had a lot of hopes
- 3:05Speaker 5: that Jorge Polanka was going to learn a new position,
- 3:08Speaker 5: injury or no injury, that Boba Schet was gonna learn
- 3:11Speaker 5: another new position, that Luis Robert was gonna stay healthy.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Too many hopes for a team that has a lot
- 3:17Speaker 5: of money and should be a playoff team, which in
- 3:20Speaker 5: my opinion, they faltered at the end of the year
- 3:23Speaker 5: last year, but they were still a good team. And
- 3:25Speaker 5: then they essentially gutted it along with their pitching coach,
- 3:29Speaker 5: Jeremy Hefner, And you say, okay, well this is what
- 3:33Speaker 5: you get.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and they get a team that's one of the
- 3:38Speaker 1: worst in baseball right now and we're fifty percent through
- 3:41Speaker 1: the season. Things can change, but you can't be that
- 3:45Speaker 1: far back at this point in the season and then
- 3:47Speaker 1: start trucking yourself back into contention. It is not easy
- 3:51Speaker 1: to execute here. So for the Mats, here's the first
- 3:55Speaker 1: question based on today's news. We've talked about this team
- 3:57Speaker 1: a ton. Does any thing actually change here? I mean,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you guys know Andy Green too. This has nothing to
- 4:03Speaker 1: do with Andy, although tell me about him if you can.
- 4:07Speaker 1: What he's going to change with the team. The roster
- 4:10Speaker 1: construction's not changing tomorrow. So can something be solved? Remember
- 4:15Speaker 1: crats like you're good for this. Philly's gone through this
- 4:18Speaker 1: twice now in season change. All of a sudden, the
- 4:21Speaker 1: team takes off. Can the Mets catch any spark? Is
- 4:25Speaker 1: there any realness to that for a club like this?
- 4:29Speaker 5: Can the Mets catch a spark?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yes?
- 4:31Speaker 5: Because they have Francisco Francisco Lindor and they didn't before this.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Luis Robert could come back again. It's all the same
- 4:40Speaker 5: thing I said. It's hopes. Andy Green is a good
- 4:44Speaker 5: manager when he was with the Padres and I had
- 4:46Speaker 5: him in spring training, incredible communicator. I think maybe he
- 4:50Speaker 5: was a little overmatched with the pace right out of
- 4:53Speaker 5: the gate when he first started managing the Padres, but
- 4:56Speaker 5: he wasn't managing very good teams. Those were teams that
- 4:59Speaker 5: were keeping like one or two or three Rule five
- 5:02Speaker 5: guys that just hamstrings you with the roster. So yes,
- 5:06Speaker 5: could the Mets catch fire? Yes? But something everybody has
- 5:10Speaker 5: to start clicking that is not clicking right now. Boba
- 5:14Speaker 5: Shet has to be the you know, leader in hits
- 5:17Speaker 5: like he has been in other years. Devin Williams and
- 5:21Speaker 5: Luke Weaver have to lock down the end of the game.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Luke Weaver's really turned it around. So yeah, there's things,
- 5:27Speaker 5: there's pieces, but it just looks like a disjointed team
- 5:32Speaker 5: when it comes to winning a team ballgame.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's hard.
- 5:38Speaker 3: It's gonna be hard for them to kind of get
- 5:40Speaker 3: back in a mix of things. I mean when you
- 5:42Speaker 3: look at to see how the Phellies did it with
- 5:44Speaker 3: Don Mattingly, they got a squad, you know what I mean.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Like those boys have been playing for a long time.
- 5:49Speaker 3: They understand that they're gonna go through these ebbs and
- 5:51Speaker 3: flows and understand that they might lose eight out of ten.
- 5:55Speaker 3: But they're one home run away from Kyle schwamb or
- 5:57Speaker 3: one cycle away from Harper of getting back into it.
- 6:00Speaker 3: As you see, they are clicking right now. So I
- 6:04Speaker 3: don't see it. I don't, but baseball gods can play
- 6:08Speaker 3: with you a little bit, you never know. I love
- 6:09Speaker 3: Andy Green. I haven't seen her talk to him in years,
- 6:12Speaker 3: but whenever I did, do a great conversationists and he
- 6:15Speaker 3: you know, he understands the game very well.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Look at the Philly starting rotation and the Mets starting
- 6:23Speaker 1: rotation right now. Anyone that watches the game mildly look
- 6:31Speaker 1: at those two rotations. Look at the numbers, Look up
- 6:34Speaker 1: the stuff, know the names.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Tell me.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Okay, let's do it.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Look we have this right, Freddy p shall reeb out
- 6:41Speaker 2: in a little bit.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He's this is the worst season we've seen from him
- 6:44Speaker 1: in a minute, although there have been some changes, right.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I actually talked about this this morning with you guys.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Like the extension for him used to be elite, top percentile.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Now it's more mid range. I don't know what the
- 6:55Speaker 1: story is behind that, but apparently it's hurting the way
- 6:58Speaker 1: that his fastball is playing.
- 7:00Speaker 2: The fastball. Freddy part's gone away.
- 7:01Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Nolan McLain has great stuff. Oh my gosh. He's a
- 7:05Speaker 2: video game dude. But this is his first full season
- 7:08Speaker 2: in the big leagues. He's gonna run into some issues.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Clay Holmes was their best starter in terms of run prevention,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and he got hurt. He's going to be out for
- 7:15Speaker 1: a minute, all right. The rest of them, there's a
- 7:17Speaker 1: lot of question marks. Here's here's my Hills rotation. Go ahead, Kratz,
- 7:21Speaker 1: you can talk with Just make sure you tell everyone
- 7:23Speaker 1: what the difference is between what I just said and
- 7:25Speaker 1: then what we're looking at on the screen.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Thank you, Yeah, now we're looking Now we're looking at
- 7:29Speaker 5: the Phillies rotation, and you have Sanchez, top three pitcher
- 7:32Speaker 5: in the game last year, who finally got his era
- 7:35Speaker 5: ABOVEVA two. You have Zach Wheeler, you have haesuslizarda wall
- 7:39Speaker 5: can be up and down, has sustained success in the
- 7:44Speaker 5: big leagues. You got Zach Wheeler. You're able to do
- 7:48Speaker 5: all this while Andrew Payter's been pitching poorly. Here's the
- 7:51Speaker 5: biggest thing with the rotation. I think Nolan McClain can
- 7:54Speaker 5: continue to do well because he's barely just a pitcher.
- 7:56Speaker 5: He was hitting more recently than he's been pitching, so
- 7:59Speaker 5: he's learning to pitch. I think he's going to be great.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I think Freddy's going to have a regression back to
- 8:05Speaker 5: his norm, which is going to be successful for the team.
- 8:08Speaker 5: The biggest thing is really was has been emblematic is
- 8:13Speaker 5: the fact that they had four heirs by four different infielders.
- 8:17Speaker 5: That's never going in one game. That's never going to
- 8:20Speaker 5: bode well for your rotation. People will be like, well,
- 8:23Speaker 5: those are unearned runs, that's why they have, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 5: an er. I get that, but it's also more pitches
- 8:29Speaker 5: you have to throw when you're not playing good defense.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Your starting rotation is not going to give you the length,
- 8:36Speaker 5: the execution, the consistent chain, the consistent success that you
- 8:42Speaker 5: really need out of them, because like, this team just
- 8:45Speaker 5: isn't built to have that run prevention that I felt
- 8:48Speaker 5: like this team was ready to that was supposed to
- 8:51Speaker 5: be built to have and kind of broke down last
- 8:53Speaker 5: year's team.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Okay, so for two minutes, let's go over this seek
- 8:59Speaker 1: geek hooking you up with seats better than anyone else can.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Over thirty five million downloads, it is the number one
- 9:04Speaker 1: rated ticketing app and I mean guys, Dodgers Padres this
- 9:09Speaker 1: weekend with Walker Bueller matching up in the series opener
- 9:14Speaker 1: for me, Let's be real, I know you have East
- 9:16Speaker 1: Coast bias and your love your New York, New Jersey area.
- 9:20Speaker 1: No doubt Padres Dodgers has real heat to it when
- 9:24Speaker 1: they match up implications you would want that ticket.
- 9:27Speaker 3: It's getting better and better each time too, because nobody
- 9:30Speaker 3: in the West Coast right now that wants to get
- 9:33Speaker 3: over the hump of the Dodgers is the Padres and
- 9:35Speaker 3: they've had They had a big opportunity a couple of
- 9:37Speaker 3: years ago, couldn't find a way to finish it and
- 9:40Speaker 3: they've been trying their butt off to get there.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Still everyone against them is big for the Padres.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Crats.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Any other series we should keep an eye on this
- 9:48Speaker 1: weekend that someone should grab a ticket to.
- 9:51Speaker 5: I mean the Central race for who's going to be
- 9:53Speaker 5: the second best team in the AL Central Skeens versus Abbott?
- 9:58Speaker 5: I think is Abbit or Ladle. Abbot's having a good year.
- 10:01Speaker 5: You know it was Abbot. Lidolo just got hit by
- 10:03Speaker 5: a comebacker. But anytime Skiens is on the mound, man like,
- 10:06Speaker 5: you gotta be there. I don't care he's having a
- 10:09Speaker 5: schemes quote unquote down year. I need I need to
- 10:13Speaker 5: see it.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Hm.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Of course that's a good one. So uh what else?
- 10:18Speaker 2: Diamondbacks raised?
- 10:19Speaker 1: I know it won't get the most attention, But if
- 10:21Speaker 1: you're in the Tampa Bay area, what why are you wavering?
- 10:26Speaker 5: I don't know? Like are they fun? Are they a
- 10:28Speaker 5: fun watch? Or the Diamondbacks a fun watch?
- 10:31Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 10:31Speaker 5: Zach Allen's on the mound when the Rays? You know,
- 10:35Speaker 5: is that is that team? Do you want to watch?
- 10:38Speaker 4: Yes?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Ray? Yes, Okay, I'll tell you why. First of all,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and I've been a fan for years now. Diamondbacks offense
- 10:44Speaker 1: is fun, like they create. They's got a mix, it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: got contacted, got speed, it's got some pop. So yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: if you're in that area in the summertime down in Tampa,
- 10:53Speaker 1: Nick Martinez against Zach Allen tonight, seakeek is the spot
- 10:57Speaker 1: territory one zero for ten percent off MLB tickets. That's
- 11:01Speaker 1: a seat geek. Make sure you click the link in
- 11:03Speaker 1: the description to download the app. Have to code automatically
- 11:05Speaker 1: added to you account so you can use it later.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, durability is a big deal too.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And for people that have been following the Mets for
- 11:12Speaker 1: a while, you probably know in the two thousands, there's
- 11:14Speaker 1: been plenty of moments where half the team's just missing, right,
- 11:18Speaker 1: even some of the better names. I mean, there were
- 11:21Speaker 1: time periods when it was like David Wright, Jose Reyes,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Carlos Beltron, right, those were like the big three and
- 11:26Speaker 1: they're all hurt.
- 11:27Speaker 2: You know it happened.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Especially there were multiple times where it's just like the
- 11:32Speaker 1: stars are not on the field. Pete Alonzo was the
- 11:35Speaker 1: guy who always played. Anyway, let's go back to the
- 11:37Speaker 1: manager side. Yeah, he gone. That was a big miss.
- 11:40Speaker 1: They really missed the mark on that one. John Harper,
- 11:45Speaker 1: who covers the Mets, heard from it.
- 11:47Speaker 2: He's on SNY.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I heard from a source today that Albert Pooholes is
- 11:50Speaker 1: in recent weeks letting friends know he'd very much want
- 11:54Speaker 1: the Mets manager job if and when they moved on
- 11:57Speaker 1: from Mendoza. Pooh Hooles managed the Dominican Report public team
- 12:00Speaker 1: in the WBC, and he has a.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Very strong relationship with Juan Soto. Is Albert Poolholtz the answer.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Christy, I think you have your answer. I don't know.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Listen, I want more players coaching. I'm a big proponent
- 12:15Speaker 3: a I love players coaching. Albert Poolhols looks like he
- 12:19Speaker 3: knows what he's doing. The World Baseball Classic is different
- 12:23Speaker 3: than Major League Baseball for sure, don't get me wrong. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 3: it's the best of the best. But also he had,
- 12:30Speaker 3: you know, the best of the best he was managing,
- 12:33Speaker 3: So he was managing what I say, twenty five best
- 12:37Speaker 3: of the best.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Now he'll have a couple. So how does he.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Manage those guys compared to the guy, you know, the
- 12:42Speaker 3: twenty fifth guy in the bench. So I'm not saying
- 12:45Speaker 3: he can't do it. I'm not saying it's a bad idea.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I'd be very intrigued and interested to see if that's
- 12:50Speaker 3: the route they did. I'd be excited too, honestly, to
- 12:53Speaker 3: see if Albert can handle that and get after it.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's the answer, but I'm all for it.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you why it's not going to happen.
- 13:02Speaker 4: I don't know if it's going to.
- 13:03Speaker 2: No, No, I'm just gonna tell you why.
- 13:05Speaker 1: There's something specific with the owner of the Mets that
- 13:08Speaker 1: everyone should know. He does not like to spend money
- 13:13Speaker 1: on someone learning on his dime.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That's like one of these.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Now, you could also make a case that some philosophies
- 13:18Speaker 1: need to change.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Maybe that one needs to change.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Maybe some philosophies that the front office have right now
- 13:23Speaker 1: with the player decision making need to change, or not
- 13:26Speaker 1: even maybe they definitely need to change.
- 13:28Speaker 2: But that part Kratz to me, actually stands out right.
- 13:32Speaker 1: You've had some inexperience there, You've had some misses, and
- 13:35Speaker 1: most of this has to do with roster construction.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Let's be real. I don't see them going the route
- 13:41Speaker 2: of a new manager. I just don't. I see them
- 13:43Speaker 2: going the route of.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Hey, Alex Cora, how much money does it take you to.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Head over to Queen's.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Jim Boden pointing it out this morning, the Mets should
- 13:54Speaker 1: now do everything they can to try and land Alex
- 13:57Speaker 1: Cora as their next long term manager starting in twenty
- 13:59Speaker 1: twenty seven. That's from our resident GM.
- 14:01Speaker 4: And then we can wait.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Until the Giants play the Mets again and guess who comes.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Back into That would be interesting, That would be great.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It'll bow tie to start. How you doing, welcome back?
- 14:15Speaker 3: But yes, that would be interesting. He's a good manager.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Man, much more likely to be the next manager than Poohles.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I'm just saying that's from what I know about the
- 14:25Speaker 1: man who makes the decisions at the end of the day.
- 14:27Speaker 1: He is much more likely to choose someone that's already
- 14:30Speaker 1: done it. And there's others too. I think Brandon Hyde
- 14:34Speaker 1: has a much better chance of managing the Mets than
- 14:37Speaker 1: Albert Pooholes.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I think he'd be fine. I think Brandon would be fine.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I'm I played against him as a manager for years
- 14:43Speaker 3: in the minor leagues, and he's got a fire in
- 14:47Speaker 3: his belly too.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Like the dude he's not. He won't take any crap.
- 14:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind seeing him in New York because he's
- 14:53Speaker 3: he's no holds bar and he knows what the heck
- 14:55Speaker 3: he's doing, and he's got the red ass every once
- 14:58Speaker 3: in a while, and I love every second of that.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Also, krats for you.
- 15:03Speaker 1: At one point, do you say, hey, guys, you're not
- 15:06Speaker 1: playing well for two years now, I'm not worried about
- 15:09Speaker 1: bringing in some player's buddy or somebody that he thinks
- 15:12Speaker 1: is going to manage him well. Also, just in general,
- 15:15Speaker 1: Jan Soto doesn't need much help. He's really good. He
- 15:18Speaker 1: does not need much help from anyone. Right, It's not like.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Someone's going to come in and be like, oh, I'm
- 15:22Speaker 2: motivating Soda. SODA's putting up numbers.
- 15:24Speaker 1: He's fine. So my thing is Kratz. I just want
- 15:28Speaker 1: to find someone who, of course, is best for the job.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And if anything, I might want to make a statement
- 15:32Speaker 1: like I'm not bringing in your buddies because this ain't working, okay,
- 15:35Speaker 1: So I mean, I'll give you one example. And I
- 15:38Speaker 1: know this is from several years ago, but it's it's
- 15:40Speaker 1: still burning them. And it's the trade that the league
- 15:43Speaker 1: uses when gms don't want to deal away a prospect.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Keith Hernandez just smashed it. On the broadcast the other day,
- 15:50Speaker 1: ohro Armstrong run circles around the team, and they brought
- 15:54Speaker 1: in Hobby Biaz, who is a buddy of some right,
- 15:58Speaker 1: including Lindor, but others too. And I'm not saying that's
- 16:01Speaker 1: the only reason they acquired him, but that trade was
- 16:03Speaker 1: a bomb. It was a bomb during that season, and
- 16:06Speaker 1: it was a bomb long term. And I don't think
- 16:09Speaker 1: they're in the business of trying to make sure everyone's
- 16:13Speaker 1: buddies are involved now. Also, if you do believe the
- 16:18Speaker 1: rumors that were spreading for months about dissension in the
- 16:21Speaker 1: clubhouse and you wanted to break that up, the new
- 16:24Speaker 1: model ain't working either, Okay, got news for you. I
- 16:27Speaker 1: sit next to aj Prazinski every day and he told
- 16:30Speaker 1: me that he played on plenty of teams where guys
- 16:32Speaker 1: loved and aided each other all in one ball and
- 16:33Speaker 1: it didn't matter because if they won, they won, and
- 16:35Speaker 1: if they lost, they lost.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Game's about winning. The game is not about all your friendships.
- 16:42Speaker 5: You develop friendships through seasons where you haven't anger issues
- 16:46Speaker 5: with each other, and you develop friendships through you know,
- 16:49Speaker 5: kumbaya sessions.
- 16:50Speaker 4: As a team.
- 16:51Speaker 5: It's about winning. I don't think oh uncle, Stevie is
- 16:55Speaker 5: going to be hiring somebody who's like, I'd love to
- 16:57Speaker 5: learn to manage in the big leagues. Hey, Won Soto's
- 17:00Speaker 5: my friend. Stevie's gonna be like, we don't need any
- 17:04Speaker 5: more Wan Soto friends. Jan Soto's got seven hundred and
- 17:07Speaker 5: sixty five million friends that I'm paying him to go
- 17:10Speaker 5: be him all the time. Like to me, if if
- 17:15Speaker 5: Albert pushed that himself, that oh yeah, he's he's close
- 17:19Speaker 5: with Juan Soto, which a lot of things when you
- 17:22Speaker 5: read them, like people are pushing those things to reporters
- 17:25Speaker 5: when they want to become a manager, That just shows
- 17:28Speaker 5: me right there. He does not He does not get
- 17:31Speaker 5: what it takes to be a manager. He was a superstar.
- 17:33Speaker 5: He is a Hall of famer, and his ability to
- 17:37Speaker 5: connect with what Todd said, all twenty five other guys
- 17:40Speaker 5: and not just Juan Soto will be the difference in
- 17:43Speaker 5: him being a Hall of Fame manager and a two
- 17:48Speaker 5: year run manager. And I think Carlos Mendoza did it
- 17:51Speaker 5: does and did an incredible job of connecting with everybody.
- 17:55Speaker 5: I think this team's a flawed roster, and I think
- 17:58Speaker 5: if you bring in a hide I don't think David Ross,
- 18:03Speaker 5: but guys that can get you can get a little
- 18:05Speaker 5: bit of the ass to the guys that need it.
- 18:09Speaker 5: It'll kick a team into shape when they need to
- 18:12Speaker 5: be kicked into shape, and will coddle them when they
- 18:14Speaker 5: need to be coddled. When my puppy Bella has something wrong,
- 18:20Speaker 5: I'm not going to go around googling what to do.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Kratz, let's have a better plan.

- 19:18Speaker 2: Hey.
- 19:18Speaker 1: From yesterday, Ian Seymour was riding a nice little no
- 19:22Speaker 1: no for the race while Junior Caminaro hit three dingers.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Nice performance for the for the old rays that nobody's
- 19:30Speaker 1: talking about.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Starling Martine needs to not tell Junior Caminaro needs to
- 19:34Speaker 5: lift more. I think it was on Tuesday they were
- 19:37Speaker 5: playing one of the series. He gave him the old
- 19:39Speaker 5: like flex a little bit more, a few more push
- 19:42Speaker 5: ups and everything, and well, I guess Junior did a
- 19:46Speaker 5: few more. But Man Seymour, the race, the race could
- 19:51Speaker 5: find some pitching. I would love to have seen him
- 19:53Speaker 5: go out for one more push it to one hundred
- 19:55Speaker 5: and ten pitches. I know, I know he was at
- 19:57Speaker 5: at ninety and that's where you're like, okay, but you
- 19:59Speaker 5: got a big lead. Maybe he can just throw a
- 20:02Speaker 5: few right down the middle. I'm not look for the strikeout.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Who knows how far he gets with that no hit
- 20:06Speaker 5: or perfect game.
- 20:07Speaker 1: John, this might be wildly inappropriate, and that's not I mean,
- 20:14Speaker 1: Starling's well liked, but I'm not kidding. If he had
- 20:17Speaker 1: said that to me, and I know Kratz would have
- 20:18Speaker 1: done the same thing, I would have been like, well,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you were on the Juicy Juice for at least the
- 20:21Speaker 1: time period and I never got to do that, so
- 20:23Speaker 1: you're more Jack than me.
- 20:24Speaker 2: It's not fair.
- 20:26Speaker 5: I saw I saw Starlin. I saw Starlin before the
- 20:30Speaker 5: Juicy Juice and after the Juicy Juice. We'll get into
- 20:33Speaker 5: it maybe one day about what I heard happened, and
- 20:37Speaker 5: it gives it gives my ex teammate a little bit
- 20:39Speaker 5: of credit. But yeah, you know what, Hey, he's he
- 20:44Speaker 5: tested positive and that's that's where it's at. But you're right, Junior,
- 20:48Speaker 5: Junior hit it that want to hit off the position
- 20:50Speaker 5: player hit like the d ring or whatever that ring
- 20:53Speaker 5: was in in uh the trap that ball was crunch.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Hey, look at us ft on Snapchat. If you're a snapchatter,
- 21:06Speaker 1: you youngsters out there, we are here. Okay, we're on
- 21:10Speaker 1: snap look out for us.
- 21:13Speaker 5: You'll let me get your snap. Yeah, let me get
- 21:16Speaker 5: your snap.
- 21:18Speaker 1: You know, Krats, I mean you've got a whole team,
- 21:20Speaker 1: a whole high school team that you coach, and I'm sure.
- 21:23Speaker 2: There's a lot of it. I always see this at
- 21:25Speaker 2: like the airport.
- 21:26Speaker 1: You'll see like constant this, and and then it's it's snap.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It's like we're by the pool and I'm like, what
- 21:34Speaker 3: are you doing? And why are you making that face?
- 21:36Speaker 3: Take that back?
- 21:38Speaker 5: It's this. Make sure make sure we stay on, make
- 21:40Speaker 5: sure we stay on the two shot here. But these
- 21:43Speaker 5: pictures right here, they send the half picture and it's
- 21:47Speaker 5: like my kids are like, I'm like, why did you
- 21:51Speaker 5: do that? Why did you just do that? Why did
- 21:53Speaker 5: you send a picture mostly of the ceiling or mostly
- 21:55Speaker 5: of the wall, And they're like just showing people where
- 21:58Speaker 5: we're at. Like sorry, I'm like I kind of dig it.
- 22:03Speaker 5: I don't necessarily dig the fact that I don't get
- 22:06Speaker 5: a text message back from my kids, but you know what,
- 22:09Speaker 5: I if I snapped them. But I'm over forty five
- 22:13Speaker 5: years old, so I don't have Snap. But I'm about
- 22:15Speaker 5: to because FT's on it. So I'm definitely getting SNAP.
- 22:18Speaker 5: So if you see me out like a lot of
- 22:20Speaker 5: people are seeing me out at these baseball tournaments, yo,
- 22:23Speaker 5: let me get you Snap.
- 22:25Speaker 1: One of the best flexes in FT history is Eric
- 22:28Speaker 1: Kratz talking to a team of whatever fifteen sixteen year
- 22:32Speaker 1: old saying, yeah, I'm more viral than all of you,
- 22:35Speaker 1: especially on TikTok. One of my goals in life, I
- 22:38Speaker 1: like to set goals right, is to do the same
- 22:40Speaker 1: thing with SNAP and have Kratz go to the team
- 22:43Speaker 1: next year and be like, I'm cooler than all of you.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I'm much more popular on SNAP and I've got a
- 22:48Speaker 1: lot flowing there. So anyway, if you'd like to help out,
- 22:51Speaker 1: mister Kratz, be cooler than the rest of the team,
- 22:54Speaker 1: the state champs join us on Snap.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Sho, hey o Tani DHNL.
- 23:00Speaker 1: So what happens is the top vote getter on the
- 23:03Speaker 1: NL side, top vote getter on the AL side automatically
- 23:05Speaker 1: starting in the All Star Game.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Wow, that's not the story.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Ernie Clement starting second baseman for the American League in
- 23:12Speaker 1: the All Star Game because Blue Jays fans showed up
- 23:17Speaker 1: and voted over and over again. And guess what, you know,
- 23:21Speaker 1: I don't even care what the numbers are this year.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Ernie Clement was ridiculous in October and this is the
- 23:27Speaker 1: way to honor him.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It's not like he's been bad this year. Has he
- 23:30Speaker 2: been postseason?
- 23:31Speaker 1: Ernie Clement, No, I'm sorry, he's not hitting four hundred,
- 23:33Speaker 1: He's only hitting what two ninety four. But Kratz, yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'm all for this.
- 23:40Speaker 5: He yeah, I get it. You know you want the
- 23:42Speaker 5: hottest second baseman from the first half of the season.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Maybe to get it. What he did ignited the Blue
- 23:50Speaker 5: Jays and were he was this close to winning MVP
- 23:53Speaker 5: of the World Series. Obviously we know who won the games.
- 23:56Speaker 5: How close he came. He would have been the hero
- 23:58Speaker 5: and he would have been forever the hero. And that
- 24:00Speaker 5: they're they're kind of rewarding him, or fans are rewarding
- 24:04Speaker 5: him for what he did in the postseason with an
- 24:06Speaker 5: All Star bit.
- 24:09Speaker 2: He was so good, it was so fun to watch.
- 24:13Speaker 2: He was unconscious, ridiculous.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and.
- 24:19Speaker 1: He was on fire, and he was what everyone dreams of,
- 24:22Speaker 1: every front office dreams of.
- 24:24Speaker 2: In the playoffs, you want contact and sluck.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You want both, right, Sometimes people say, oh, well you
- 24:28Speaker 1: need contact, No, you need both. Just looking at some
- 24:32Speaker 1: matchups for the weekend and also backtracking for a moment,
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yankees Red Sox has already started.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Anything we should know.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Besides, the Yankees just getting by doing fine without mister Judge,
- 24:43Speaker 1: and the Red Sox did crack him yesterday, including Cam Schlitzler,
- 24:46Speaker 1: but overall they are not playing good ball.
- 24:49Speaker 2: No.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I mean listen, Before the Reds came into town, they
- 24:52Speaker 3: were doing good. You know, they lost two out of three,
- 24:54Speaker 3: and then now the red they're losing to a Red
- 24:57Speaker 3: sock to It was one big inning, that's basically it
- 24:59Speaker 3: was the fifth inning. Uh big air by Rosario, ball
- 25:03Speaker 3: dropped in front of Cam Schlitzler, which should have been caught.
- 25:07Speaker 4: A bloop of the left and that's baseball at the
- 25:09Speaker 4: end of the day.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And then ky By Arrow had an easy out at
- 25:12Speaker 3: home at home on a sack fly was off target,
- 25:15Speaker 3: and a big three run homer by oh Caleb Durbin.
- 25:19Speaker 4: I mean, listen, that's all took.
- 25:22Speaker 3: They were up to nothing and they need they need
- 25:25Speaker 3: better pieces.
- 25:25Speaker 4: In the bullpen.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I think that's the biggest thing they need to do
- 25:28Speaker 3: come trade deadline, and they just got to find a
- 25:30Speaker 3: way to get some guys healthy too. So it's going
- 25:33Speaker 3: to be a struggle. Ebbs and flows. I say it
- 25:35Speaker 3: all the time. I hate to keep beating that drum.
- 25:38Speaker 3: But whether there are two games up.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Right now on the rais in the division, can I
- 25:42Speaker 1: complain for thirty seconds here our five second question to
- 25:45Speaker 1: get your answer. Can Kebby just play short stop every day?
- 25:48Speaker 1: I would learn you doing just play shortstop every day.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Here's your best shortstop defender, and he's earned every day
- 25:56Speaker 1: right off season. You've got someone else in mind, that's
- 25:59Speaker 1: that's even more you know whatever, But right now he's
- 26:02Speaker 1: clear cut your best shortstop. Yeah, period, Just play him
- 26:06Speaker 1: there and let the rest because defense matters. Bet MGM
- 26:10Speaker 1: swing for the fences, swing for a shot daily to win,
- 26:13Speaker 1: play that game within the bet MGM app. And then also,
- 26:16Speaker 1: as we've been talking about, there's all kinds of World
- 26:18Speaker 1: Cup action within that app that you can get involved
- 26:22Speaker 1: in with promos.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So give those a look.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Gambling problem or concern, there's help Call one eight hundred
- 26:27Speaker 1: gambling braves. Fans, watch out. The Phillies are coming after
- 26:39Speaker 1: your bullpen, not yours. The Nats bullpen to be exact,
- 26:42Speaker 1: as they just absolutely plowed through it. But they are
- 26:45Speaker 1: only four games back of Atlanta. And this is just
- 26:48Speaker 1: one of those timing things, Crats, where all of a
- 26:50Speaker 1: sudden the Braves are on a four game losing streak.
- 26:53Speaker 1: The Phillies just swept up the Nats, and they did
- 26:55Speaker 1: it in such a fashion, right, That's got to give
- 26:58Speaker 1: you confidence.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Is every win is just a win, Every loss is
- 27:01Speaker 2: just a loss.
- 27:02Speaker 1: But can you gain anything from just continuously pouncing on
- 27:07Speaker 1: a bullpen late with those comebacks? Or do you look
- 27:11Speaker 1: over at the statistics for the Nats bullpen and say, well,
- 27:15Speaker 1: this is gonna be a little different than facing where
- 27:18Speaker 1: I sell Iglesias or Robert Suarez with Atlanta.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Oh for sure, it's a bad bullpen. But what it
- 27:24Speaker 5: does give you is confidence that when you're down, you're
- 27:27Speaker 5: still in it. Because when you're on a team that's
- 27:29Speaker 5: down five, three, six, four and you're looking at dugout
- 27:33Speaker 5: and everyone's like we're cooked, eighth, ninth innen guys are
- 27:37Speaker 5: coming in that. So they're gaining confidence from that. But hitters,
- 27:42Speaker 5: I don't, I don't think necessarily are like, Okay, we
- 27:44Speaker 5: can't do that against everybody. They understand they're still facing
- 27:47Speaker 5: big leaguers with the Nats. Us as outsiders say, eh,
- 27:53Speaker 5: like it was the Nats. Why are the Phillies still
- 27:55Speaker 5: struggling against Foster Griffin cade kVA. Who else did they struggle?
- 28:02Speaker 5: Why is that that line of struggle the starting pitching?
- 28:10Speaker 4: Hey, because they're still big laders.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait, Foster Griffin's pitching
- 28:15Speaker 1: well this year, Kate Cavally's got really good stuff.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Excuse me, Okay, I'm not I'm saying. If you're the
- 28:22Speaker 5: Phillies lineup and you're saying this offense has turned it
- 28:25Speaker 5: around because they scored what thirty runs in three games?
- 28:28Speaker 5: Tell me why they aren't getting to the starters, why
- 28:31Speaker 5: they're behind in every one of these games? Is my
- 28:35Speaker 5: evaluation of if this is a World Series team or
- 28:38Speaker 5: a playoff team.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I just don't appreciate Foster Griffin catching strays like that.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't. Every single outing this month is
- 28:46Speaker 1: one run, every single outing.
- 28:48Speaker 2: This month, Foster, Yeah, exactly. But I get what you're saying.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Why can't they crack the beginning of the game. Also,
- 28:55Speaker 1: the real question mark for the Phillies is, Hey, after
- 28:59Speaker 1: three or four guys tops, right, four tops?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Where is everyone else? Right?
- 29:05Speaker 4: See that?
- 29:06Speaker 5: I disagree with that. I take your disagreement and I
- 29:09Speaker 5: bring you my disagreement. Do you know who is the
- 29:11Speaker 5: highest slugging percentage with the runners in scoring position in baseball.
- 29:15Speaker 5: It's not one of the top four guys that you're
- 29:17Speaker 5: mentioning in the Phillies lineup. It's Bryson Stott. Oh no, no,
- 29:23Speaker 5: it's Bryson Stott highest slugging percentage of runners in scoring position.
- 29:27Speaker 5: They find ways to manufactures runs. Yes, but how can
- 29:31Speaker 5: this lineup. We're talking about a lineup that is going
- 29:34Speaker 5: to be the make or break of this Phillies team
- 29:38Speaker 5: because the starting rotation in the playoffs. When I'm talking
- 29:40Speaker 5: about the playoffs and how far they make a run,
- 29:43Speaker 5: this team has to hit. Last year, I think they
- 29:47Speaker 5: hit really well against the Dodgers starting rotation, which ended
- 29:50Speaker 5: up dominating the rest of the playoffs. It was the
- 29:52Speaker 5: bullpen that that faltered for them. The bullpen's a little sometimes.
- 29:58Speaker 5: You know, they need two or three guys, two guys
- 30:00Speaker 5: to step up behind Johan Duran. But you have to
- 30:05Speaker 5: you have to say, as a lineup, we are a
- 30:07Speaker 5: veteran lineup, how do we get to the starting pitching
- 30:11Speaker 5: whoever it is out there, whether it's Paul Skeens, whether
- 30:15Speaker 5: it's Jacob Miserawski, I get it. He's you know they're
- 30:19Speaker 5: both cy young candidates and you're not really gonna get
- 30:21Speaker 5: to those guys. But on a consistent basis, this lineup's
- 30:24Speaker 5: not getting to the starter. And when they start doing
- 30:27Speaker 5: that and they continue to beat up the bullpens, now
- 30:31Speaker 5: I'm starting to believe in this lineup being the lineup
- 30:34Speaker 5: that's going to carry them to the World Series.
- 30:39Speaker 3: I've said it from before, like this team has never
- 30:41Speaker 3: out of it.
- 30:42Speaker 4: I love the way they're playing.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Don Maddenley's got to be really happy and excited about
- 30:48Speaker 3: what they're doing. Kyle Schwarverz just hitting homers like he
- 30:51Speaker 3: does best. Harper's coming along here, getting exciting times, the
- 30:55Speaker 3: crowds getting back into it. They are right where they
- 30:58Speaker 3: need to be and they're not work all right, and
- 31:00Speaker 3: I think the only thing stopping them right now is
- 31:02Speaker 3: the All Star breaks. So for them, they're gonna keep
- 31:05Speaker 3: pushing it and they're gonna understand they're never out of
- 31:07Speaker 3: a game because of who they have that can play,
- 31:09Speaker 3: and they're clicking right now. That's a sign of a
- 31:12Speaker 3: fierce team that you do not want to play right now.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I don't care if thirteen to eight they give up
- 31:16Speaker 3: eight runs, They're still winning games and guess what they're
- 31:18Speaker 3: going against the Mets that we're struggling right now, So
- 31:20Speaker 3: could be another two three wins for sure.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, they might catch the Braves by next week, forget
- 31:26Speaker 1: the All Star break. So here's the pressing question for
- 31:29Speaker 1: both of you, Braves or Phillies regular season Braves or
- 31:34Speaker 1: Phillies postseason. So looking now and weighing that the Phillies
- 31:38Speaker 1: are four games back, do you think they catch them
- 31:40Speaker 1: and end up on top on the regular season standings?
- 31:43Speaker 1: And then also just in general, when you're looking at
- 31:46Speaker 1: roster complexion, because we know the playoffs is different, which
- 31:49Speaker 1: team do you like better to go deeper in a
- 31:52Speaker 1: postseason run?
- 31:54Speaker 4: You want me to go first? Sure? I still think
- 31:56Speaker 4: the Phillies still, Yeah, I do. I I I don't know.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I love Chris Sale, I love everything they do over there,
- 32:04Speaker 3: But I just I can't get it out of my
- 32:06Speaker 3: head that the Phillies aren't gonna win this division. I
- 32:08Speaker 3: think they'd have a really clear cut shot four games
- 32:11Speaker 3: back or not. You know, I can go over every
- 32:14Speaker 3: single name, it doesn't matter. They're playing well right now,
- 32:17Speaker 3: so until they show me otherwise, and I just think
- 32:21Speaker 3: they're gonna just keep going from here on out and
- 32:23Speaker 3: inch their way up. They could go down six again,
- 32:25Speaker 3: but they'll be back down two, then up four, and
- 32:27Speaker 3: then eventually they'll take it over.
- 32:29Speaker 5: In my opinion, your question was who do you like
- 32:33Speaker 5: better in the playoffs?
- 32:35Speaker 4: Now?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Both regular season? Give me both regular season.
- 32:41Speaker 5: The Phillies are still four back and it took a
- 32:46Speaker 5: just a hot, hot stretch and the Braves this was
- 32:49Speaker 5: their first down stretch. Four games is a lot. Four
- 32:52Speaker 5: games is a lot unless you're talking about four games
- 32:55Speaker 5: against the Gnats, who are a worst team. You're talking
- 32:58Speaker 5: about the Braves, who I think have have they have
- 33:01Speaker 5: some issues that they need to figure out. I think,
- 33:03Speaker 5: you know, maybe that magic dust may have worn off
- 33:06Speaker 5: with Elder for this year. We'll see. I think the
- 33:09Speaker 5: Phillies have a better I think the Phillies have a
- 33:12Speaker 5: better team to win in the postseason, and obviously that's
- 33:16Speaker 5: yet to be seen and we'll see where they get there.
- 33:19Speaker 5: If they have to play in a short wild card series,
- 33:22Speaker 5: that can change a huge complexion. Winning the division is
- 33:26Speaker 5: first and foremost on their on their minds, but I
- 33:30Speaker 5: don't think they catch the Braves.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Offense. Which offense do you like better?
- 33:39Speaker 4: I still like the Phillies.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I really like them. I know what they can do.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Kratzy understands what they can do.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I think their offense is the Braves offense is deeper, though, No,
- 33:49Speaker 1: don't you think it's a tougher lineup to navigate top
- 33:51Speaker 1: to bottom?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Or Am I wrong there? I feel like I.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Don't want to know.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I know, right, I just know.
- 33:59Speaker 4: The Phillies of.
- 34:01Speaker 3: They've overcome a lot of stuff during these last couple
- 34:05Speaker 3: of years, and I just don't I don't see them
- 34:07Speaker 3: faltering once the year comes to an.
- 34:08Speaker 5: End, even without Acuna. I think the Braves lineup is
- 34:12Speaker 5: a better lineup, I'll be honest, just because because there's
- 34:18Speaker 5: there's a you know, if you can do player by
- 34:21Speaker 5: player comparison, Yeah that's not you know, that's that's always
- 34:25Speaker 5: fun to do, but that doesn't really show you the
- 34:28Speaker 5: complexity of a lineup. I just think that right now,
- 34:32Speaker 5: the Phillies are not putting together or haven't been putting
- 34:36Speaker 5: together enough team at bats. Do I think the ceiling
- 34:39Speaker 5: is higher for the Phillies lineup?
- 34:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:41Speaker 5: Sure, But I think the Braves lineup on a consistent
- 34:45Speaker 5: basis without Austin Riley doing what he's doing. The Phillies
- 34:49Speaker 5: could get get a boost from Alex alec Baum, like,
- 34:53Speaker 5: you know, getting his hundred RBIs like he's been getting
- 34:56Speaker 5: hot lately. So I get it that there's guys that
- 34:58Speaker 5: are getting hot. I I feel like top to bottom
- 35:01Speaker 5: the Braves. May the Braves have a more balanced lineup?
- 35:06Speaker 4: All right?
- 35:08Speaker 2: It's crazy? Yeah, good, good debate. It's crazy.
- 35:11Speaker 1: If the Nats even had a mid range bullpen.
- 35:14Speaker 2: This year, they might make the playoffs.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I mean, I know we have a whole second half
- 35:18Speaker 1: to go, things can change, but how many if they
- 35:21Speaker 1: had a mid tier bullpen, right? And basically it's like,
- 35:25Speaker 1: look at their blown saves and chop it in half
- 35:27Speaker 1: and then see how many more games they would have won.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It's even if you don't chop it in half, right,
- 35:33Speaker 1: even if it's a little less than that, give me
- 35:35Speaker 1: like a hey, let's cut thirty percent from that number.
- 35:39Speaker 1: And they're on pace have the most blown saves of
- 35:41Speaker 1: all time. So if you take a little bit off
- 35:44Speaker 1: that number, where are we at? Like they're not in
- 35:45Speaker 1: a bad spot even right now, but give them an
- 35:48Speaker 1: extra I don't know, six wins in the first half
- 35:52Speaker 1: of the season, and they're if you give them six wins,
- 35:55Speaker 1: they're basically almost neck and neck with the Phillies right now.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Yeah, and they're not and we're not talking about blown
- 36:00Speaker 5: When people say blown safe, they're not just blowing it
- 36:02Speaker 5: into a ninth Inny. You can get a blown save
- 36:04Speaker 5: earlier in the game for people who don't know that.
- 36:07Speaker 5: So it's a it's a full bullpen epidemic that they
- 36:11Speaker 5: have going on. Yes, their lineups awesome, and yes, this team,
- 36:16Speaker 5: they put up runs. And when you put up runs,
- 36:18Speaker 5: eventually and maybe this is the time, maybe this is
- 36:21Speaker 5: a series that swings in that season to the bad.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Eventually a lineup is just exhausted, Like, we just put
- 36:27Speaker 5: up eight runs. You blew it. We were losing six
- 36:30Speaker 5: to five. Now we're winning eight six and you're like,
- 36:33Speaker 5: we did all we can do. Whack crap, we lost
- 36:37Speaker 5: that game. How did that happen? It drains on.
- 36:39Speaker 4: You that it does. Sure.
- 36:44Speaker 5: Yeah, and Thents the Nats. The Nats bought three trajects, Okay,
- 36:52Speaker 5: And if you don't have a traject in your system
- 36:54Speaker 5: right now, if you're a low market team and you
- 36:55Speaker 5: didn't spend five hundred thousand dollars for the traject system
- 36:59Speaker 5: because I think they have two down at the complex
- 37:02Speaker 5: and they have won in the big league team with
- 37:05Speaker 5: the big league team now, I think there's a direct
- 37:07Speaker 5: correlation to guys having success with that.
- 37:10Speaker 4: And you don't want to look back on the year
- 37:12Speaker 4: at the NSA. It all the time. Man.
- 37:15Speaker 3: You know, we could have been in the playoffs, so
- 37:17Speaker 3: we could have won the division. And next thing you know,
- 37:20Speaker 3: you're like those six to eight games we probably should
- 37:23Speaker 3: have won and we would have been contention. So as
- 37:25Speaker 3: you brought it up, those are games that could hurt
- 37:29Speaker 3: the Nationals not making the playoffs.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're in rebuild mode.
- 37:33Speaker 4: They can't.
- 37:33Speaker 2: That's what they're still in.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they but they they traded away, Yeah, they traded
- 37:39Speaker 1: away McKenzie gore. They were talking about CJ. Abrams in
- 37:43Speaker 1: the offseason. They didn't go after big bullpen arms because
- 37:46Speaker 1: they didn't expect to be good yet. And you got
- 37:49Speaker 1: to give credit to the whole crew there, right, the
- 37:52Speaker 1: youngsters improving the coaching staff there as well, be terrorist
- 37:57Speaker 1: done a nice job. To Bony at the top of
- 37:59Speaker 1: the front office has done a nice job. I mean,
- 38:02Speaker 1: it's it's a surprising division, right, You didn't expect the
- 38:04Speaker 1: Nats to be where they're at. I even if you
- 38:08Speaker 1: were on the low end on the Mets. The Mets
- 38:10Speaker 1: fifteen back right now in the division already, that's heavy.
- 38:17Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 38:18Speaker 5: It's crazy the Mets in the Mets in the National
- 38:20Speaker 5: League and the Red Sox in the American League. Sorry,
- 38:24Speaker 5: like that is crazy. What both of those teams haven't
- 38:28Speaker 5: done this year?
- 38:29Speaker 4: I agreed.
- 38:30Speaker 1: And they both don't have the same managers that started
- 38:34Speaker 1: the year, right, remember Crafts, we did that segment. Oh
- 38:39Speaker 1: hard to see any managers being let go, And I'm like, dude,
- 38:44Speaker 1: don't you worry. We're not even at the All Star
- 38:47Speaker 1: break and we've had three changes, right.
- 38:50Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, I'd like to rerack that conversation because I
- 38:53Speaker 5: think all three of those teams came up that, oh,
- 38:56Speaker 5: if they do bad, they would definitely be on the
- 38:59Speaker 5: hot seat. But we see him doing bad here.
- 39:02Speaker 1: We are, Yeah, other spots around baseball right now? Uh,
- 39:11Speaker 1: National League Central, Cubby's been up and down for you
- 39:16Speaker 1: Brewers running away right now, pro Crew pirates coming back
- 39:21Speaker 1: down to earth a little bit.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Well I knew that, Yeah, I know, but that's what
- 39:28Speaker 4: usually happens.
- 39:28Speaker 3: It is and they're not playing well when Skins is
- 39:31Speaker 3: pitching too, so that's another thing. So I mean, listen,
- 39:37Speaker 3: it's that midway almost midway point. It is midway. What
- 39:41Speaker 3: do we got?
- 39:42Speaker 1: Every team this week is playing the their eighty first game,
- 39:46Speaker 1: so we're midweek.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Yeah, where is that second life going to come through?
- 39:51Speaker 3: What team is all of a sudden, Oh, we forgot
- 39:53Speaker 3: about that team, We forgot about this team or where
- 39:56Speaker 3: the heck did they go? So for me, it starts
- 40:00Speaker 3: after this week. Here we go, it's time to step
- 40:02Speaker 3: up again, and you know you got another half left.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Where's your second win? So who's gonna do this?
- 40:06Speaker 3: Is the miz gonna be as dominant as cam Schlitz,
- 40:09Speaker 3: They're gonna be as dominant. So there's some really cool
- 40:13Speaker 3: storylines that can pop up here in the second half
- 40:16Speaker 3: of the year.
- 40:19Speaker 5: Oh no, no, I was just gonna say. I was just
- 40:20Speaker 5: gonna say, I think that's where the Pirates may not
- 40:23Speaker 5: collapse like they did other times because they've got veteran
- 40:27Speaker 5: guys in there. They have a little more experience. Like
- 40:30Speaker 5: you bring in Ohearn, you bring in a Brandon Lao,
- 40:34Speaker 5: and you say, okay, like these are the guys that
- 40:36Speaker 5: they're gonna have to lean on in the second half win. Normally,
- 40:39Speaker 5: it's like, Wow, we did so good the first half,
- 40:42Speaker 5: and then we're right here and we're just slowly going down.
- 40:46Speaker 5: I think that's where the pirates. They're gonna lean on
- 40:49Speaker 5: those guys and they have to be able to make
- 40:50Speaker 5: a run. They're not that far behind the Cubs. I
- 40:53Speaker 5: don't think you're catching Brewers.
