- 0:00hello i took a week longer than i had expected
- 0:03but stuff still happened so what's up i'm back
- 0:08i had a sinus i had a sinus infection sorry it
- 0:11wasn't back last week but i'm back a lot happened
- 0:14holy wow a lot happened here's some of it habeas
- 0:19corpus Sounds woke to me. Stephen Miller, who
- 0:22is a senior advisor at the White House, and the
- 0:25answer to the question, what if we put every
- 0:27vile trait of a human being into one person,
- 0:29wants to suspend the right to habeas corpus.
- 0:32What is it? Is it communist? A little bit. Habeas
- 0:36corpus is the concept that you are essentially
- 0:37allowed to challenge the government when they
- 0:39detain you. to make sure that people don't get
- 0:41detained illegally. It's due process, in a word.
- 0:45It's essentially, you have a right to not be
- 0:47illegally imprisoned. And so here we have a very
- 0:50loud fascist white supremacist advisor to a fascist
- 0:52administration being like, hey, let's take away
- 0:55people's right to challenge imprisonment. Can't
- 0:59go wrong. Miller is abhorrent. And he's abhorrent
- 1:02for many, many, many reasons. But he's also just
- 1:04loudly a white supremacist, and people just kind
- 1:07of let that happen, which is... Whack? The dude
- 1:10is in favor of re -migration, which is a not
- 1:13particularly clever way to say remove everyone
- 1:15from the country who is not of white European
- 1:18descent, which itself is not a particularly clever
- 1:20way of saying ethnically cleanse the country.
- 1:23He's one of the most senior officials in the
- 1:25administration, and I truly am baffled by his
- 1:28existence. He's... The worst human I can imagine?
- 1:32Speaking of terrible humans, 17 states and the
- 1:34District of Columbia are suing the Trump administration
- 1:36over an executive order from his first day in
- 1:39office. The executive order is titled The Temporary
- 1:42Withdrawal of All Areas on the Outer Continental
- 1:45Shelf from Offshore Wind Leasing and Review of
- 1:48the Federal Government's Leasing and Permitting
- 1:50Practices for Wind Projects. That's what I named
- 1:52my firstborn. I don't have children. Probably
- 1:55for a good reason. So what this order does, if,
- 1:58you know, I know you got it from the name, but
- 2:00let's just talk about it real quick, just for
- 2:02them over there. It stops wind farming. It essentially
- 2:05halts permits for all wind energy, especially
- 2:08offshore wind energy, and wants to review how
- 2:10we're doing wind energy production domestically.
- 2:13This is all because the guy hates quote -unquote
- 2:16windmills. He's famously anti -windmill. I'm
- 2:20saying windmill with air quotes because... It's
- 2:23not a windmill. It's a wind turbine. Those are
- 2:25very different things. This man is the president
- 2:28of a country for the second time. A country with
- 2:31an energy grid. And he's still mixing that up.
- 2:34But that still doesn't get to why he hates them.
- 2:36He hates them because wind turbines were built
- 2:38visibly offshore from one of his properties in
- 2:42Scotland. That is legitimately why he doesn't
- 2:45like them. Like he's been on a tirade ever since
- 2:47he lost a legal battle to prevent the construction
- 2:50of offshore wind farms visible from his property.
- 2:54And so because of this beef from this loser,
- 2:57an entire country just loses an option for renewable
- 3:01energy. Human beings with functional circulatory
- 3:04systems cast votes for this man. I'm in awe.
- 3:08Like this isn't new. None of this is new information.
- 3:11This is just what he does. Anyway, in before
- 3:14some loser jumps into the comments and is like,
- 3:17this is what I voted for. ICE is still out here
- 3:20doing their best SS cosplay, despite the Department
- 3:22of Homeland Security almost being out of money.
- 3:24The Department of Homeland Security in the US
- 3:26is about a billion dollars over budget already
- 3:29and is at risk of being past their budget before
- 3:32the end of the fiscal year, which is a crime.
- 3:35It's actually a crime to spend money that was
- 3:37not allocated to your department. Nothing's going
- 3:41to happen here, but it's a crime. But what are
- 3:44they doing with that money? Don't worry. They're
- 3:45being very responsible. For example, they detained
- 3:47a 54 -year -old Irish woman for 17 days recently.
- 3:51She's a legal resident of the country. She's
- 3:52been here for decades and had one small skirt
- 3:55with the law 20 years ago. And they detained
- 3:58her for 17 days as she was returning from a trip,
- 4:01checking on her sick father. Held for 17 days
- 4:03because... But they're also spending your money
- 4:06by causing mass panic in neighborhoods, by chasing
- 4:08people down in broad daylight, unmarked and masked.
- 4:11The American dream is hearing screaming outside,
- 4:14running out into your neighborhood and seeing
- 4:15your neighbors arrested by unidentified federal
- 4:18agents. Makes me feel really comfortable about.
- 4:21psychotic people who would use that to their
- 4:24advantage. Very cool, very safe, very healthy.
- 4:26They also arrested the sitting mayor of Newark,
- 4:29New Jersey, who was with his constituents protesting
- 4:31an ICE detention facility that is not wanted
- 4:34in the area. Here's something cool. A bunch of
- 4:37people from this locality were like, fuck this.
- 4:39We don't want this, including the mayor. And
- 4:42then the federal agents just arrested them. Because
- 4:45states' rights, you know, it's important for
- 4:47states' rights so that they can determine what
- 4:49kind of a state they want to run. Unless it goes
- 4:52counter to a fascist dictator. Doubly so if they
- 4:55can use footage from arrests in your state to
- 4:57satiate their base. Anyway, here's a bit of an
- 5:00upshot. There was a hack recently at an airline
- 5:03that ICE uses to deport people. A bunch of hackers
- 5:06defaced the website and released information
- 5:08to the press. from their servers 404 media obtained
- 5:12this and they were actually able to find information
- 5:13about a man who has been hidden from his family
- 5:17by ice the dude was disappeared they had no information
- 5:20they've been stonewalled by the government but
- 5:22hackers got a hold of the manifest and were able
- 5:24to give him to journalists who were then able
- 5:26to inform a grieving family do more of that all
- 5:29right john federman is losing it we knew this
- 5:32uh and we knew he was never really all that great
- 5:35But he's losing it. So John Fetterman, he's a
- 5:37senator from Pennsylvania. He was up against
- 5:40Dr. fucking Oz in the election. So don't get
- 5:44me wrong. Like, I'm not a Fetter boy. But the
- 5:48seat's better off with him than Dr. Oz. If you're
- 5:51not familiar, Dr. Oz is a quack TV doctor that
- 5:55Oprah Winfrey gave a program a while back. That's
- 5:57his credentials. But Fetterman has honestly not
- 5:59been all that much better. He successfully swindled
- 6:02progressives in Pennsylvania, convincing him
- 6:04he was going to fight for them, and then completely
- 6:06heel turned on them. He is strongly pro -Israel.
- 6:09He's like besties with Netanyahu. He was even
- 6:12recently gifted a silver -plated beeper from
- 6:15Netanyahu after Netanyahu used beepers with bombs
- 6:19hidden in them to do a terrorist attack on a
- 6:22civilian population. We've gotten recent reports
- 6:24from his staffers that he's just been irate and
- 6:26uncontrollable. We had that video of him arguing
- 6:29with people on an airline about whether or not
- 6:31he had to wear his seatbelt. And now we've got
- 6:33a story from a town hall he did with a teacher's
- 6:35union. Apparently during the meeting, he started
- 6:37to just lose his shit, was bashing his fists
- 6:39on the table and just repeatedly saying, why
- 6:41does everybody hate me? I didn't do anything.
- 6:43It got so uncomfortable that staffers actually
- 6:45ushered people out of the room. One staffer was
- 6:48outside just like shaken and the teachers were
- 6:50trying to provide any amount of comfort that
- 6:52they could. But hey, on the topic of not having
- 6:55done anything, maybe don't do the things that
- 6:58I just listed that were shitty. Why does everybody
- 7:01hate me? I'm just a dick to my constituents.
- 7:03Weird. Anyway, here's an idea. Shut the fuck
- 7:07up and resign. I'm going to let you down gently
- 7:09with this one because this is kind of hard. The
- 7:11Fox News host that we made, the Secretary of
- 7:14Defense, it's not going well. I know this is
- 7:17shocking and surprising, but... I just wanted
- 7:20you to hear it from me. It's going poorly enough
- 7:22that the White House has actually removed his
- 7:24choice of chief of staff and taken away that
- 7:27choice from him. Pete Hegseth, a white supremacist
- 7:30alcoholic wife beater who is a former Fox News
- 7:32host, basically has no experience and should
- 7:34not be at the head of an army, tried to appoint
- 7:37some random dude that everyone hates to be his
- 7:40chief of staff. Here's a quote from a White House
- 7:41staffer about the guy that Hegseth wanted to
- 7:44be chief of staff. Quote, He doesn't have adequate
- 7:46experience, lacks the political chops, and is
- 7:49widely disliked by almost everyone in the White
- 7:52House who has been exposed to him. Me too. So
- 7:54yeah, the White House has basically said, nah,
- 7:56we're gonna pick your chief of staff. Hegseth
- 7:59has just been a disaster, and I'm guessing they
- 8:02just don't want to go back on his nomination,
- 8:04given how hard they fought for him. I... I do
- 8:08not think he is long for this role, but that's
- 8:10a given. It's the Trump administration. We are
- 8:13past policy. We're done. We're moving on to world
- 8:17stuff. World star. Not, no. Anyway, world stuff.
- 8:21Pope. We Pope. Got a Pope. We Poped it. Pop,
- 8:24pop. It's a Pope. Peepaw. It's the Pope time.
- 8:27I don't know what I'm doing. It's been a long
- 8:29life. So Pope Francis died, but now we got a
- 8:32new one. Pretty quickly. It was like a day and
- 8:34a half. We got a new one. Pope Leo the 14th.
- 8:37He's from Chicago. I can't, it's just a weird
- 8:41concept. We now have a Pope who probably has
- 8:44a hot dog order. Like he knows what he wants.
- 8:46Shout out to Chicago style hot dogs. That shit's
- 8:49rad. Anyway, yeah, there's not a whole lot to
- 8:52say yet. It's new Pope. He's doing new Pope things.
- 8:54He's, I saw that he wears an Apple watch, I guess.
- 8:57That's, that's, he's just like us. The best thing
- 9:01to come out of the whole new Pope thing though,
- 9:02is that he has a brother who's just been. Real
- 9:05excited to tell us all about it. We've just been
- 9:07getting headline after headline from the Pope's
- 9:09brother, where he's just like, yeah, he fucking
- 9:12is real good at Fortnite and shit like that.
- 9:15Side note, I don't think that he said the Pope
- 9:17is good at Fortnite, but who knows? It's 2025.
- 9:20Now, what's he like? I don't really know, but
- 9:23by all accounts, he's like a pretty good dude
- 9:24and relatively moderate. I don't have, I don't
- 9:27really have high expectations when it comes to
- 9:29Pope, Pope, Pope Puri, but wishing you all who
- 9:33are the Pope folk, Wishing you good popes. Have
- 9:36at it. India and Pakistan were escalating towards
- 9:38an all -out war until very recently when they
- 9:41signed a ceasefire that, at time of recording,
- 9:44seems to be holding. For the past few weeks,
- 9:47there have been just exchanges on either side
- 9:49of the border between India and Pakistan. And
- 9:52recently, the Trump admin came out and were like,
- 9:54we facilitated ceasefire talks. It's unclear
- 9:59what exactly happened. It seems like the White
- 10:01House is pressuring India and Pakistan to come
- 10:03to a ceasefire agreement. But according to both
- 10:05India and Pakistan, they had direct communication
- 10:07talks where they agreed on a ceasefire. And now
- 10:10both sides are claiming victory. About 30 minutes
- 10:13after the ceasefire agreement, there was like
- 10:15an explosion in Kashmir. And so people were concerned
- 10:18the ceasefire wasn't going to hold. But since
- 10:20then, it's been mostly calm. This is very dynamic.
- 10:23This could absolutely change at any moment, but
- 10:25that's where we are right now. Really hoping
- 10:28this doesn't re -escalate. We don't need that.
- 10:30We've got enough going on. Technology. Apple
- 10:33done stepped in it. So Apple's been fighting
- 10:36a legal battle with Epic Games for years now
- 10:38over Apple's locked down ecosystem of payments
- 10:41on iOS. If you have an iPhone, you've probably
- 10:44dealt with apps that don't let you sign up for
- 10:46a subscription unless you go to their website
- 10:48or apps that are more expensive if you sign up
- 10:51through iOS than through their website. That's
- 10:53because Apple takes a 30 % cut and requires developers
- 10:56to go through their payment services. Or at least
- 10:59that's what they were doing and they... They've
- 11:02been fighting to keep it that way. A judge ruled
- 11:04in 2021 that they can't be doing that. They got
- 11:06to allow other payment systems. And Apple has
- 11:09apparently been doing everything, every step
- 11:11of the way since then, to prevent that from actually
- 11:14happening. According to recently reviewed law
- 11:17stuff, Tim Cook has been actually pushing for
- 11:19them to skirt the court ruling, even if other
- 11:22executives were like, hey, maybe we should just
- 11:25adhere to that. So because of this, the judge
- 11:27was actually like, hey, y 'all, I'm about to
- 11:30hold Apple. in criminal contempt of court. To
- 11:33which Apple was like, whoa, we're going to appeal?
- 11:37Actually, let's not go there. Apple's lawyers
- 11:40say that if they have to support the court ruling,
- 11:42they're going to lose vast sums of money. I plugged
- 11:46that into a calculator. I subtracted it from
- 11:48Apple's current cash on hand. And the calculator
- 11:51said that the result would be vast sums of money
- 11:54still. I'm not a math magician, but the little
- 11:57guy in my calculator is, and I trust him with
- 11:59my life. Hey, don't make an AI rendition of me
- 12:01for anything. Just on the outset of this next
- 12:04story. Lots of stuff from 2021 this time around.
- 12:07A man named Chris Pelkey in 2021 was killed during
- 12:10a road rage incident. There was some road beef.
- 12:13Dude pulled out a gun, shot him, and killed him.
- 12:15That was back in 2021, and there have been trials
- 12:17ongoing. But Chris's family decided to recreate
- 12:21him using AI by feeding videos and pictures of
- 12:25him into an AI that then generated his own impact
- 12:28statement to speak from beyond the grave in court.
- 12:32The result is like a monotone, robotic, genuinely
- 12:36terrifying construction that in my opinion feels
- 12:39like a desecration of this man's memory. Hello.
- 12:43Just to be clear for everyone seeing this. I
- 12:46am a version of Chris Pelkey recreated through
- 12:48AI that uses my picture and my voice profile.
- 12:52I was able to be digitally regenerated to share
- 12:55with you today. But here's the part that I cannot
- 12:58reconcile. Now look, this was an initiative done
- 13:01by his sister and family. Like, the people who
- 13:04saw the video, who are related to this guy, liked
- 13:07it. I don't know him. The video makes me very
- 13:10upset. But the judge liked it too. The judge
- 13:14was all about it. so the judge liked it and the
- 13:16family was for it they were the ones that drove
- 13:18it i cannot wrap my head around the idea of being
- 13:22happy that a computer has interpreted what your
- 13:27dead loved one might say even going as far as
- 13:31to say like it's great to see you all here today
- 13:33it means a lot to me you're a computer you don't
- 13:36get to Pretend you know what the feelings of
- 13:40a man coming back from the dead to address a
- 13:43court regarding the fate of his murderer would
- 13:46be. Don't AI me, please. We're doing it again.
- 13:55We're doing Theranos again. Elizabeth Holmes
- 13:57of Theranos Infamy is currently in jail. She's
- 14:00a jail girl. She made Theranos, which was a company
- 14:03that she claimed was going to revolutionize the
- 14:05diagnosis industry. Got a bunch of investments.
- 14:07Turns out it was bullshit. Now she's in jail.
- 14:10But now her partner is fundraising for a new
- 14:12startup. An AI diagnosis startup. She's all for
- 14:17it. She's promoting it from within jail. She's
- 14:19also talking about rejoining the healthcare med
- 14:21tech industry after she gets out of jail. Talking
- 14:23about how she's writing patents from behind bars.
- 14:26Yeah, okay. Hey, Rot. Rot, you made a fraudulent
- 14:30company that took people's money and sold false
- 14:33promises of a better medical future for people
- 14:35who desperately need it. no don't come back gaming
- 14:39grand theft auto 6 has been delayed until spring
- 14:422026 fulfilling one of my 2025 year predictions
- 14:46which granted was the easiest one of them all
- 14:49like it was gonna it was gonna happen we knew
- 14:51that they insisted they said it wasn't gonna
- 14:53happen but that just made it more gonna happen
- 14:56stop right there criminal scum so that we can
- 14:59play oblivion yeah while i was gone i'm just
- 15:02talking about this because it happened while
- 15:03i was gone and i need to talk about it Bethesda
- 15:05released the Oblivion Remastered game. Elder
- 15:09Scrolls Oblivion Remastered. Nailed it. The Elder
- 15:13Scrolls IV Oblivion is a 2006 open world RPG
- 15:16that is notorious for hysterical NPC interactions.
- 15:19This remaster, beautifully, upgrades all the
- 15:23graphics, but does not touch the game logic.
- 15:25So you get to play this game that it feels a
- 15:28lot more like a modern game now. But then you
- 15:30go into town and every single NPC just like turns
- 15:33and faces you and is like, hello there. Just
- 15:36a cacophony. And then the second they're done
- 15:38greeting you, they all turn to each other and
- 15:40just start saying the most out of pocket bullshit
- 15:42you can imagine. Just complete non sequiturs
- 15:45back and forth. It is. It's an experience. Anyway,
- 15:48the game is genuinely pretty good. I'm just happy
- 15:50that it exists. Stardew Valley people, rejoice
- 15:53in the future. The developer of Stardew Valley
- 15:55was recently on a podcast where he said that
- 15:57he might eventually make a Stardew Valley 2.
- 15:59Now, to be clear, this is not an announcement
- 16:02of Stardew Valley 2. So Stardew Valley has been
- 16:04ridiculously popular. It essentially revitalized
- 16:07an entire genre, and now that genre is hyper
- 16:10-populated. So it's genuinely a good thing that
- 16:12he's not going right to Stardew Valley 2 because
- 16:14there's... too many games that are effectively
- 16:16Stardew Valley 2 right now. He's been working
- 16:18on a game called Haunted Chocolatier for a while,
- 16:21but primarily he just keeps going back to working
- 16:23on Stardew Valley, releasing a ton of free content
- 16:26updates, which we like that. Thank you. But this
- 16:29is the first time that he's actually acknowledged
- 16:30that Stardew Valley 2 might actually happen at
- 16:34some point. So get out your overalls and... Pet
- 16:40your chickens. Lightning round. We've got a new
- 16:43combination flu and COVID shot that is actually
- 16:45more effective than individual flu and COVID
- 16:48shots. So that's woo. In his own words, the MyPillow
- 16:52guy is, quote, in ruins financially, as he is
- 16:56required to pay a bunch of legal fees. Some dude's
- 16:58been stalking Eminem for years and recently broke
- 17:01into his house for the third time. He's very
- 17:03in jail. There's new research into improved Lyme
- 17:06disease treatment that looks pretty promising.
- 17:08Still check yourself for ticks after going for
- 17:10a hike. Warren Buffett is retiring at 94 years
- 17:13old, showing us that he would never have made
- 17:15a good senator. An eight -year -old in Kentucky
- 17:17ordered 70 ,000 lollipops for himself and his
- 17:21friends using his mom's phone. kind of took it,
- 17:23ordered a shitload of lollipops on Amazon, and
- 17:27they showed up. The perfect crime. She tried
- 17:29to return them, but it was too late. And finally
- 17:32for today, this is important. There is now video
- 17:34of the world's tallest dog meeting the world's
- 17:37smallest dog. This is important. Thank you so
- 17:39much for listening to today's episode of Stuff
- 17:41Keeps Happening. Head to skh .news for sources,
- 17:44bonus content, and a whole new world. My name
- 17:49is Endeavorance. I'll be back on Monday. Take
- 17:51care and be well.
