- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:03Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:10Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. You also have Alexandra Francisco, who had that
- 0:17Speaker 1: pronunciation proper. I've never heard fred Nail. I would have
- 0:20Speaker 1: lost a lot of money on that pic. What's so
- 0:21Speaker 1: hard about Alexandra Francisco? What's so hard about Jim Craig?
- 0:24Speaker 1: You couldn't handle that last night? People always say Alexandria
- 0:28Speaker 1: and I hate really, Oh, people just don't read. You
- 0:31Speaker 1: were also a finalist for the Greg Hill Morning Show,
- 0:34Speaker 1: right whatever, They're lost. Now, you guys got me talking Patriots,
- 0:37Speaker 1: probably a little Celtics. Oh we're gonna talk Celtics. Oh yeah, unbelievable, incredible. Really,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Paul busts out the stats for Celtics Unfiltered combined to
- 0:45Speaker 1: go fifteen for twenty three on three pointers in the
- 0:47Speaker 1: first game. Ask him what happened after Patriots lost, and
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'll tell you they just didn't execute. Alex might look
- 0:54Speaker 1: to see if she can go with him. I went
- 0:56Speaker 1: to the Bruins with him and Matt Damien him. Yep,
- 0:59Speaker 1: I want to go. Given that Paul's love of gays
- 1:02Speaker 1: and boys is well documented. That's Adam Gayson, Josh boys
- 1:06Speaker 1: that he doesn't like other guys working on his deck.
- 1:11Speaker 1: That's really like that one. This is Patriots Unfiltered, fueled
- 1:16Speaker 1: by Duncan. All right, welcome back to Patriots Unfiltered. It
- 1:22Speaker 1: is Thursday here at Gillette Stadium, and we're here for
- 1:26Speaker 1: the next two hours talking Patriots and anything else. It's Deuice,
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's Paul, it's me, it's Alex back by popular demand.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Took the words out of my mouth. She made it. Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 1: Matt in the booth, so um, you know what what
- 1:40Speaker 1: are we What are we talking about? It's Julian Edelman
- 1:42Speaker 1: coming back. Oh yeah, that's what my bank I said yesterday.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I went into the bank. He's got a bank guy.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I don't know it's the guy at the guy at
- 1:50Speaker 1: the bank, but I commented on his he had a
- 1:52Speaker 1: Super Bowl thirty six Pano and his office like, oh nice,
- 1:55Speaker 1: he's oh here about Julian Edelman. I mean he's talking
- 1:57Speaker 1: like him. I'm like, yeah, bone on bone? What I'm
- 2:01Speaker 1: just bone on bone, That's all I say. When animan
- 2:03Speaker 1: comes up, Bone on bone, not gonna happen he drew
- 2:06Speaker 1: went like Gronk retired, and how annoying he was with
- 2:09Speaker 1: all that stuff, and like, you know, we have a
- 2:11Speaker 1: big announcement to come up, and everybody was sort of
- 2:13Speaker 1: like this for Weed, it's getting tired, but it's it
- 2:16Speaker 1: was tiring, I mean, you know, CBD. I find I
- 2:19Speaker 1: find Edelman's trolling to be much more like humorous, yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 1: like you know, you know, and if it was, you know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: it would probably probably be for the Patriots. Like it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: just I don't know why they're doing the same thing.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I don't think he's coming back, but I just I
- 2:36Speaker 1: find it more entertaining. And I really don't find Edelman
- 2:38Speaker 1: all that entertaining before, you know, before, but I think
- 2:40Speaker 1: he has been funny, yeah, and some of this stuff,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but I think, I mean, it's only he knows for sure.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But Mike's right with the bone on bone that hasn't
- 2:50Speaker 1: that hasn't changed. Yeah. Plus they just signed little Jordan
- 2:52Speaker 1: so little well, well, little Jordan, little Jordan Humphrey, Jordan Humphrey. Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 1: who is big? Little Jordan is big? Yeah? Well how
- 3:00Speaker 1: big was Jordan Humphrey? Big Jordan? You know, because he
- 3:05Speaker 1: might have been even bigger. He's like six d They
- 3:09Speaker 1: know when they named him, though he's just a baby.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They don't know for sure. They don't know it was
- 3:12Speaker 1: going to be six four. Did you guys read about
- 3:14Speaker 1: where the name came from? No? Please? So his brother
- 3:17Speaker 1: loved Michael Jordan wanted his little brother to be named
- 3:21Speaker 1: after Michael Jordan. Only problem is the older brother's name
- 3:24Speaker 1: is Terry Michael. So the mother was like, we're not
- 3:26Speaker 1: gonna have two Michael's running. So instead of doing Jordan,
- 3:31Speaker 1: it was little Jordan. Little Jordan. Okay, there's no other
- 3:34Speaker 1: Little Jordan out there, so no, but I mean a
- 3:37Speaker 1: little bit surprised. I feel like they got a lot
- 3:39Speaker 1: of bodies at wide receiver. I mean, I don't know.
- 3:41Speaker 1: He's kind of enters the fray, tall possession kind of guy,
- 3:44Speaker 1: not real fast or anything. So I don't know Adam
- 3:47Speaker 1: to the mix. I guess what's his numbers? Not good? No,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like forty no, no, like in the in the league?
- 3:54Speaker 1: How he like three years he has last year he
- 3:56Speaker 1: was like three years. He has like thirty catchers with
- 3:58Speaker 1: touchdowns maybe yeah, yeah too touchdown Okay, So he's an
- 4:03Speaker 1: improvement over to kill Harry somebody, somebody did tweet that
- 4:07Speaker 1: out this morning. I don't know, he's got more productive
- 4:09Speaker 1: I don't know, but I mean maybe in the same
- 4:12Speaker 1: universe as terms of just a big guy who can't
- 4:15Speaker 1: really run that fast but could maybe make some catches
- 4:17Speaker 1: on the inside for you. So, I don't know. It's
- 4:19Speaker 1: just there's a lot of bodies there now. I mean
- 4:21Speaker 1: it's I guess what ten guys, yeah, ten receivers. But
- 4:24Speaker 1: I think it's you know, I think you add some
- 4:26Speaker 1: depth that you know, that's a position you need a
- 4:29Speaker 1: lot of bodies at in camp. There's a lot of
- 4:31Speaker 1: running and you need you need extra buys. This you do,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know so and you know, and they do this
- 4:36Speaker 1: every year. Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean I know they
- 4:39Speaker 1: do it with Brady. I mean, do you think that
- 4:41Speaker 1: there's some element of trying to sixteen catches into sixteen,
- 4:45Speaker 1: trying to throw everybody kind of in the mix for
- 4:48Speaker 1: Mac to see who kind of pops, Like would you
- 4:50Speaker 1: do that if you had a young quarterback like Mac Jones, Like,
- 4:52Speaker 1: would you bring in a bunch of different guys and
- 4:54Speaker 1: just to say, hey, we gotta find somebody their bodies? Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you can't bodies? Yeah, that's all you remember. Who was
- 5:00Speaker 1: the guy that we were Someone was sort of teasing
- 5:04Speaker 1: us about um at training camp a couple years ago.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We he was even on ros guy from Washington. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: Maurice Harris. Maurice Harris. It's one of those. It's an
- 5:14Speaker 1: NFL player. He's been in the league for a couple
- 5:16Speaker 1: of years. Hasn't made much of an impact, but he's
- 5:18Speaker 1: been in the league a little bit. Who knows, maybe
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, someone gets hurt. He looks like he's you know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: he has a good camp, you know what I mean.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I wouldn't completely rule it out, but yeah, I think
- 5:28Speaker 1: it's probably just depth. At this point that somebody tweeted
- 5:31Speaker 1: us the headline, I guess that you had written like
- 5:33Speaker 1: a block servations from mini camp Maurice Harris. I wasn't
- 5:38Speaker 1: here yet. So that's when you know that that I've
- 5:41Speaker 1: completely lost it and gone total CTE because I didn't
- 5:44Speaker 1: even remember that. Then the guy sends me my own
- 5:47Speaker 1: my own clip. I know, well, that guy, I guess
- 5:49Speaker 1: I wrote it him. I wasn't there for camp. He
- 5:51Speaker 1: didn't really do anything at camp, and that's why I
- 5:53Speaker 1: was like, what, I don't really remember, but I guess
- 5:55Speaker 1: apparently he was tearing it up at Mini Camp. Another
- 5:58Speaker 1: item just tourification. Often on the show, we like to
- 6:01Speaker 1: clear things up and you know, give people, you know,
- 6:05Speaker 1: information that they wouldn't otherwise have. I got from a
- 6:09Speaker 1: very very good source about why Bill cut Mini Camp. Sure,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and it had nothing to do with the weather or
- 6:17Speaker 1: anything like that. Per the CBA, on the three day
- 6:22Speaker 1: Mini Camp, teams are allowed to have twenty four hours
- 6:25Speaker 1: of activity and they can break it up anyway they want.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And what the Patriots chose to do this year is
- 6:31Speaker 1: do ten hours the first day, ten hours the second day,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and four hours the third day. And why they did
- 6:37Speaker 1: that is they wanted to simulate what the ten hour
- 6:40Speaker 1: day would be like during the season, because that's what
- 6:42Speaker 1: it is. It's a ten hour day. And so on
- 6:45Speaker 1: the last day they only had four hours left and
- 6:47Speaker 1: they didn't have practice. They just you know, did film
- 6:50Speaker 1: or whatever they did, so it was ten ten four.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Rather a lot of teams do eight eight eight something
- 6:55Speaker 1: like that. But you can break it up anyway you want,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and the Patriots chose to do ten ten four this
- 7:00Speaker 1: year for the Mini camin. It's as simple as an
- 7:02Speaker 1: explanation as that interesting. Interesting. Yeah, the only thing I
- 7:06Speaker 1: would ask about that is the four. Um, when did
- 7:11Speaker 1: they make the decision or why did they make the
- 7:13Speaker 1: decision to have that four not be on the field
- 7:15Speaker 1: right on the last day. That's a good question. And
- 7:18Speaker 1: also scheduling media availabilities for the last what was it
- 7:22Speaker 1: one of the last two days? Yeah, yeah, we still
- 7:25Speaker 1: we still got MAC on the last day. Yeah, well
- 7:27Speaker 1: that was probably included in the four Yeah, so that
- 7:30Speaker 1: was you know, that has to be part of the
- 7:33Speaker 1: day's activity. So that was included in the four hours
- 7:36Speaker 1: that they were required to be here on that last day. Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and no one will probably never know why Bill decided
- 7:44Speaker 1: to do it that way or whatever. But I agree
- 7:45Speaker 1: with you, Fred, I just don't think that the weather
- 7:48Speaker 1: had a lot. It didn't a lot of you. As
- 7:51Speaker 1: a matter of fact, it did not. Yeah, look at
- 7:54Speaker 1: the I mean the bubble. If they really wanted to
- 7:55Speaker 1: practice inside, right, even if it light if it's lightning out,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you go into the bubble if you have stuff to do,
- 8:02Speaker 1: all right, So well, yeah, a little bit of insight,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I mean, kersh notice of the grindstone. Well that's really
- 8:09Speaker 1: I mean, it's let's there's a lot of speculation out
- 8:11Speaker 1: there why they did it and stuff. So yeah, that's
- 8:13Speaker 1: the reason you know now you know only on Patriots Unfiltered.
- 8:18Speaker 1: All right, what else have we got tonight? Game six
- 8:24Speaker 1: nine o'clock? I actually do too. So Wheel's got a
- 8:28Speaker 1: game at nine, so I don't know. Maybe i'll catch
- 8:30Speaker 1: the second half. I'll probably toote in for a little bit,
- 8:33Speaker 1: see how it goes. I mean, I don't know. I
- 8:35Speaker 1: mean I want to say that you kind of get
- 8:37Speaker 1: a sense of these games, but it doesn't bet the
- 8:38Speaker 1: house that they win tonight, I think so. I wouldn't
- 8:41Speaker 1: bet the house. No, I wouldn't bet the house on
- 8:43Speaker 1: Golden State either. I think these teams are really telling
- 8:47Speaker 1: anyone to actually do it. But would you favor the
- 8:50Speaker 1: Celtics in this game? Yes? Yeah? Yeah? Did you get
- 8:53Speaker 1: tickets yet? No? No one, no one, not even after
- 8:56Speaker 1: your plea on the show. Yeah, I thought someone some
- 8:59Speaker 1: broke listeners. Come on people. Yeah, I'll take it. I'll
- 9:04Speaker 1: take it, But I I they're young. I just feel
- 9:08Speaker 1: like they're gonna come on play awesome again? Are they?
- 9:10Speaker 1: I don't know? Yeah, I think so, And I know
- 9:15Speaker 1: nothing about basketball, although no Scott Foster Oh he's the
- 9:19Speaker 1: ref that he's the extender. He's the extend, the extended,
- 9:22Speaker 1: the equalizer. Yeah, he's not reffing tonight, evidently according to
- 9:26Speaker 1: the Twitter machine. I really wonder how that all works. Like,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I just the league is so fixed. It's ridiculous. Yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 1: it's fixed, you goof. I just try to I mean,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I can only imagine it from a hockey refering standpoint
- 9:37Speaker 1: of trying to go in a game, and like I
- 9:39Speaker 1: could maybe see not calling some stuff. I mean, I
- 9:41Speaker 1: know basketball is different and you can, you know, give
- 9:45Speaker 1: guys actual points in terms of free throws. But I
- 9:48Speaker 1: don't know, it's just hard. I try to imagine being
- 9:50Speaker 1: in a headspace of being a referee trying to influence
- 9:53Speaker 1: the game, and I don't know, it's just I have
- 9:55Speaker 1: to come to it for a place each time when
- 9:56Speaker 1: I ref of I'm just watching two teams play and
- 9:59Speaker 1: I don't know who we se either team is, and
- 10:01Speaker 1: I just know which way they're going. That's the thing.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I mean, as a fan, you want to believe that
- 10:06Speaker 1: it's on the up and up. You know, yeah, you
- 10:09Speaker 1: really do, because otherwise what's the point. Oh yeah, you know, right,
- 10:14Speaker 1: But basketball is kind of unique without regard, right, I
- 10:16Speaker 1: mean like basketball refs. Well, yeah, I think, and I
- 10:22Speaker 1: think that sport most easily lent itself to that because
- 10:27Speaker 1: of what you're talking about, you know, the whole the
- 10:30Speaker 1: whole scandal with the refs, you know whatever. Five ten
- 10:33Speaker 1: years ago with Tim it was all about overs, like
- 10:37Speaker 1: the totals, and they call a lot of follows early
- 10:40Speaker 1: in the game to get a ton of free throwers
- 10:41Speaker 1: that checks to score up. You know, they weren't necessarily
- 10:44Speaker 1: when betting on a team, right, But Alex is right,
- 10:49Speaker 1: there's a laundry list of like especially college point shaving scandals,
- 10:53Speaker 1: including right here at Boston College. Right, that's right. Didn't
- 10:56Speaker 1: happen at be you I just watched a commentary about that.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Did we talk about something recent? There was something Mike
- 11:05Speaker 1: Mayock is on it? Yeah, because Mike Mayock was roommates
- 11:09Speaker 1: with Jim Christian at BC, and Christian was implicated not
- 11:14Speaker 1: as much as playing for the mob. Yeah, and how
- 11:17Speaker 1: it's Conserndie Cobb. Yeah, yeah, Well that's what happens. You
- 11:23Speaker 1: lose a game and then you're in the hole and
- 11:25Speaker 1: then you gotta right, you get in trouble. But it's
- 11:28Speaker 1: happened all over. There's a there's a lot of different
- 11:32Speaker 1: schools that have been impacted by it. I remember being
- 11:35Speaker 1: in the Patriots press box back at the old Stadium,
- 11:37Speaker 1: Remember that press box. Paul very small went in the
- 11:41Speaker 1: very small and very smoky, and Ted Sarandis was there,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and I was talking to Ted and we were talking about,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you know, possible. This is before the BC thing came out,
- 11:50Speaker 1: and just before it came out, possible stuff like that,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and you know, yeah, and this one guy, I think
- 11:57Speaker 1: his name is Carl Bean. It's like, that would never happened. Okay, wait,
- 12:02Speaker 1: two weeks later it happened. You were having your conversation
- 12:04Speaker 1: about BC point shaving scandal not not being made, not necessarily.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The point shaving scandal was common knowledge. It happened in
- 12:12Speaker 1: the seventies, but it was in it was in the paper.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Something happened just after this conversation I was having with
- 12:17Speaker 1: Ted Sarrandi's like, and Carb, that would never happen. And
- 12:21Speaker 1: we're like, okay, yeah, well some people just like, yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 1: they're naive thoughts. Yeah, but anything could happened. Like Paul said,
- 12:32Speaker 1: guys get in trouble and then I have to do
- 12:36Speaker 1: this and there's only five guys on the court. Yeah, right,
- 12:39Speaker 1: so if you can influence one or two of them,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's all you need. They can impact the game. Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know in football, like you'd have to have the quarterback,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you know, as an example. Yeah, because there's so many
- 12:49Speaker 1: guys involved. Well, and you know when we've talked about
- 12:52Speaker 1: it before, and it's why it's the NFL has always been,
- 12:57Speaker 1: you know, very adamant about players. Is not gambling. It's
- 13:01Speaker 1: like you're get in trouble, and it's not like anyone
- 13:04Speaker 1: player can fix a game. But all these you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: wise guys are looking for is an edge. So if
- 13:11Speaker 1: I can you know, tell a receiver, hey, make sure
- 13:14Speaker 1: you drop a couple of balls, that's all I'm looking
- 13:16Speaker 1: for is to get a little edge in the betting
- 13:19Speaker 1: that you know, they can't actually fix the game to
- 13:22Speaker 1: win or lose, but they can influence it. And that's
- 13:25Speaker 1: all they're looking for. And that's what the league is
- 13:29Speaker 1: worried about, you know, just a little bit a little nudge.
- 13:33Speaker 1: So regardless of you know, gambling on sports has always
- 13:36Speaker 1: been around, even if it's illegal, it's always been around.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And what the league is, any league is worried about
- 13:42Speaker 1: are their players getting involved in it? You know, because
- 13:45Speaker 1: they can influence the game, whether it's giving information or
- 13:49Speaker 1: actually their actions on the field, they have an impact.
- 13:53Speaker 1: So it's it's just it's something you have to monitor
- 13:56Speaker 1: very very carefully, and I think make huge penalties if
- 14:01Speaker 1: you're caught, you know, like bands. Yeah, you know, it
- 14:05Speaker 1: has to be that strict, absolutely, you know, I agree, Yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and stick to them. Yeah, you know that's why I
- 14:14Speaker 1: like people. They should bring back Pete Roles. No, they shouldn't. No,
- 14:17Speaker 1: they shouldn't. You know, you knew the rules. Why is
- 14:22Speaker 1: everyone so freaking quiet? I don't know. I'm gambling. I
- 14:25Speaker 1: don't know. We're not allowed to We're not allowed to
- 14:27Speaker 1: talk about that. We're all afraid of losing our job.
- 14:29Speaker 1: No we are. We're allowed to talk about the only
- 14:32Speaker 1: you're the only one that's not allowed to gamble. You're
- 14:34Speaker 1: the only one that makes enough. That doesn't matter if
- 14:35Speaker 1: you lose your job. No, you're just not allowed to gamble.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And you know, but you can talk about it. Yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 1: we talk about it a lot of do our point
- 14:42Speaker 1: spreads when we do the get our picks every week
- 14:45Speaker 1: we do. It's fine, it is interesting to see how
- 14:48Speaker 1: over the last like year, it's like every network everyone's
- 14:52Speaker 1: throwing so many resources towards gambling content, and it's like
- 14:56Speaker 1: now we're just surrounded by it. Yeah, it's like taking
- 14:58Speaker 1: over sports media even like you know what, didn't Hannibal
- 15:01Speaker 1: go to work for? Like what? Yeah, I'm gonna hit
- 15:03Speaker 1: him up. Well, it's the same thing we talked about it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: We're joking earlier about the cannabis with Bronk. As soon
- 15:09Speaker 1: as it became legalized, every other billboard on Route one
- 15:13Speaker 1: is for cannabis. Well, that's the only way they can
- 15:15Speaker 1: advertise billboards. So the marijuana industry, it's you you have
- 15:21Speaker 1: to like kind of prove that you're advertising to people
- 15:24Speaker 1: who are of a certain age. So that's why you're
- 15:26Speaker 1: not going to see like TV ads or anything. It's
- 15:28Speaker 1: really strict with the advertising they can do, and billboards
- 15:31Speaker 1: seem to be like their only option. I'm wondering why,
- 15:35Speaker 1: you know, like I would, I would assume they'd be
- 15:37Speaker 1: under the same restrictions as cigarettes and alcohol. But you
- 15:40Speaker 1: see alcohol everywhere, right, but not cigarette. But not cigarettes anymore.
- 15:44Speaker 1: You know what's the dice between weed and cigarettes? Is
- 15:47Speaker 1: it the nicotine? Or I don't know, like why can
- 15:51Speaker 1: why can CBD have all these billboards and Marlborough can't.
- 15:58Speaker 1: CBD isn't directly related to like lung cancer, and why
- 16:02Speaker 1: still you're still lighting something up and putting it in
- 16:04Speaker 1: your love for cbs? Oh, CBD is different topical. Oh
- 16:09Speaker 1: so sure these places that are advertising dispensaries, you're not
- 16:13Speaker 1: actually getting stuff you smoke. Now you can know you
- 16:15Speaker 1: are get anything. You're advertising marijuana, right, so diffummies gummies?
- 16:21Speaker 1: CBD is I believe cigarettes are federally legal. To THHC
- 16:27Speaker 1: is what is illegal. CBD is not legal. Both are
- 16:30Speaker 1: found in different strains of the cannabis the marijuana. You
- 16:34Speaker 1: can buy it in all forms, both THHC and CBD.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You can smoke CBD, it's just CBDs legal because under
- 16:40Speaker 1: federal law that's not the whatever. Yeah, lobbyists are just
- 16:44Speaker 1: not as talented as the big tobacco lobbyists of the day,
- 16:48Speaker 1: or people just haven't caught up with people smoking, and
- 16:51Speaker 1: there's gonna then there's gonna be like pot smokers who
- 16:54Speaker 1: got lung cancer and now you know, stry to make
- 16:56Speaker 1: a stink about it. I mean, I know the science
- 16:58Speaker 1: on that. It's probably Lee kind of still in progress
- 17:01Speaker 1: with how things are going. But yeah, it's it's everywhere.
- 17:05Speaker 1: But I don't know, I think you need to you
- 17:07Speaker 1: need to make the connection that it's I mean, it's
- 17:09Speaker 1: obviously dangerous to drive high. Yeah, but is that what's
- 17:13Speaker 1: the lung cancer risk? And I don't know how secondhand
- 17:16Speaker 1: smoke cancer risk all those things. You know, the bottom
- 17:18Speaker 1: line is the moment it became legal, you know, the
- 17:21Speaker 1: floodlights are open. The same thing with gambling. I know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: you know now in Massachusetts you can't gamble on sports yet,
- 17:27Speaker 1: but you know, the day that that happens, you know
- 17:32Speaker 1: it'll be every Well, that's unlike the content of it
- 17:34Speaker 1: is like these these companies have so much money, but
- 17:37Speaker 1: they have so much money to throw Like I feel
- 17:38Speaker 1: like these are the money. These are the things that
- 17:41Speaker 1: are going to take over sports media. They're gonna have
- 17:42Speaker 1: all this gambling money behind them and they can hire
- 17:44Speaker 1: somebody like Hannibal. Do you remember when it was Draft
- 17:48Speaker 1: Kings and the Other One Fan Duel when that first
- 17:51Speaker 1: gout legalized like that, Okay, that's okay. The money they
- 17:54Speaker 1: spent on TV, I mean every other Adam the sporting
- 17:58Speaker 1: event was DraftKings are fans duel. Yep. Draft Kings is
- 18:01Speaker 1: still spending more money than Yeah, but money was so
- 18:04Speaker 1: cheap during the pandemic you could like borrow it at
- 18:07Speaker 1: such a rate that Draft So what Draft Kings did.
- 18:10Speaker 1: And it'll be really interesting to see now that real
- 18:13Speaker 1: legacy casinos are playing into this game, someone like Draft Kings,
- 18:17Speaker 1: who just spent all their money on talent, How do
- 18:19Speaker 1: you compete with the casinos in such a crowded space,
- 18:22Speaker 1: And you're seeing that they're really not. So it'll be
- 18:24Speaker 1: really interesting to see what they're going to do with
- 18:26Speaker 1: all these people they hired and all the money they've
- 18:29Speaker 1: thrown at programming as this continues to just shake out,
- 18:33Speaker 1: because right now, it's just it seems really oversaturated and
- 18:36Speaker 1: the contents kind of corny in some cases, and it's
- 18:39Speaker 1: I don't know, I just feel like it's being forced
- 18:41Speaker 1: upon me and yeah, I want nothing to do with it. Yeah,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but it's just like, you imagine the resources that these
- 18:46Speaker 1: companies have compared to like the Boston Globe or the
- 18:48Speaker 1: Boston Herald or you know, these old newspapers that I mean,
- 18:52Speaker 1: it seems just inevitable to me that these are going
- 18:54Speaker 1: to become the next ESPN's, the next Nessons like all
- 18:57Speaker 1: you know those, and you think they'll have like lots
- 19:00Speaker 1: production arms. Yeah, and they'll be coming out with absolutely
- 19:03Speaker 1: interesting I think some are in trouble. Some will be okay.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I think the legacy casinos like your, your MGMs and
- 19:09Speaker 1: Caesar's will probably be okay. But I'm worried about Draft Kings.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I don't think you don't think they will be able
- 19:14Speaker 1: to compete. They spent so much money, how are they
- 19:17Speaker 1: going to make it back? Yeah? I don't know. They
- 19:19Speaker 1: were borrowing money very cheap during the pandemic, and it's
- 19:23Speaker 1: just like so many of these companies tech companies too.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't know what is Draft Kings doing
- 19:28Speaker 1: that's differentiating themselves from every other. Do you know why
- 19:32Speaker 1: they had much money? I mean, it just seems like
- 19:35Speaker 1: you get this operation going like it should give corrab
- 19:37Speaker 1: As a million a year. Yeah, I know that one
- 19:39Speaker 1: exactly right. I think that's that's an example of it.
- 19:42Speaker 1: They've got those deeper money, right, but where's it it's
- 19:45Speaker 1: all is it all borrowed? I don't know the stock
- 19:48Speaker 1: MGM they've been paying Jamie Fox right to do those
- 19:51Speaker 1: commercials he's doing is that he's MGM. And then Caesar's
- 19:55Speaker 1: is um like they have the Peyton, the Manning Brothers,
- 20:00Speaker 1: the whole family. Caesar's has them in their commercials, you know,
- 20:05Speaker 1: and they have the casinos to back them though, like
- 20:07Speaker 1: yeah a legacy right that Draft Kings does not. Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 1: well they've could be interesting. They've got the place up
- 20:14Speaker 1: here and the concourse it's nice, but they pay for that.
- 20:18Speaker 1: That's why we're worried. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, So
- 20:24Speaker 1: like all the shows now, like even you know ESPN
- 20:27Speaker 1: they have like the Daily Wager every night like opposite
- 20:31Speaker 1: UM Sports Center, and like, I find the show is
- 20:35Speaker 1: somewhat interesting on the surface when they're talking about the
- 20:38Speaker 1: games and why, but then you know, it's like they
- 20:41Speaker 1: have the three or four experts and they give their
- 20:43Speaker 1: expert picks and they have their their plays for every night,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and it's like, you know, Andrew Wiggins over twenty six
- 20:50Speaker 1: and a half points rebounds combine, Like I don't know
- 20:53Speaker 1: how many people that are just watching casually like me
- 20:57Speaker 1: that want to delve into those numbers that you know
- 21:01Speaker 1: that at that minute detail to try to figure out
- 21:04Speaker 1: what what do I want to put one hundred bucks
- 21:05Speaker 1: on Like I can watch the game and I can
- 21:07Speaker 1: say I think the Celthic is gonna win tonight. I
- 21:09Speaker 1: want a little something extra on it to you know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: keep my interest. But now I'm watching like Draymond Greene
- 21:15Speaker 1: to see if he's under eight and a half points. Like,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I don't know, Like, I know people do it. I
- 21:20Speaker 1: know a lot of people. That's how a lot of
- 21:22Speaker 1: people make a living, yeah, doing it that way. But
- 21:25Speaker 1: to me, I think those shows kind of they gloss
- 21:27Speaker 1: you over after well, they're really for the gambler, right,
- 21:30Speaker 1: you know, and I just don't know how big of pool.
- 21:33Speaker 1: If you're just trying to figure out who's going to
- 21:35Speaker 1: win the game, that's Stuff's boring. I wonder how many
- 21:38Speaker 1: people who really are degenerate gamblers like that, just like
- 21:41Speaker 1: are actually going to these experts for it like advice,
- 21:45Speaker 1: Like how much credence is actually being put into what
- 21:48Speaker 1: these guys are saying, because it's just like you look
- 21:50Speaker 1: at every other person in like sports talk radio or whatever,
- 21:54Speaker 1: Like how prepared really are people to be giving this
- 21:57Speaker 1: information that like could straight up ruin families. I don't know.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I feel the same way about fantasy football I mean,
- 22:02Speaker 1: I said, like, are you really an expert? Like I
- 22:04Speaker 1: know there are some people that really get it, but
- 22:06Speaker 1: a lot of people saying that they're fantasy sports experts
- 22:09Speaker 1: and giving out advice and like it's such a shot
- 22:13Speaker 1: in the dark. You can't be that good at it.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Like there's not like not much any of these things,
- 22:18Speaker 1: like I'll give away my free book for selling real estate.
- 22:22Speaker 1: If you're really good at anything, you're not giving away
- 22:24Speaker 1: anything for free. You're doing it yourself and you're becoming rich.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You know, you're not out like you don't need to
- 22:31Speaker 1: like sell books or CDs or anything like that. You're
- 22:35Speaker 1: just doing it and you're mate, you're getting rich. Get
- 22:38Speaker 1: a free pick, I'll get you, get a free pick.
- 22:40Speaker 1: And yeah, right, I've seen how those things all work too,
- 22:42Speaker 1: where they fifty fifty split it, then they fifty fifty
- 22:45Speaker 1: split it again until you've got like somebody who's won
- 22:47Speaker 1: four times in a row, and then you got a
- 22:49Speaker 1: bunch of people you got your claws in them. But
- 22:52Speaker 1: I'm glad, I'm lucky that it's not a world that
- 22:54Speaker 1: really interests me all that much. And you know, I
- 22:56Speaker 1: obviously with this, I can't get involved in it so
- 22:59Speaker 1: right fantasy football, Like I don't have the time, you
- 23:02Speaker 1: know too much, Like I know you can pass the
- 23:04Speaker 1: button and have them pick it yourself. But then what's
- 23:07Speaker 1: the point And it's like, what are you watching the game? Pot?
- 23:09Speaker 1: While I really want to see Draymond Green score less
- 23:11Speaker 1: than seven points? Like that's my investment watching the game tonight.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Like it's easy for me to watch football and want
- 23:16Speaker 1: a team to win. And you know that's how who
- 23:18Speaker 1: gets the like fantasy. You know, we've talked about fantasy
- 23:21Speaker 1: a million times, Like I just want to watch the game.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I don't want to say, oh, my team scored, Oh
- 23:25Speaker 1: but the wrong guys scored. I don't that's not for me.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And I know a lot of people are into that.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean it's obviously it's a an enormous injury.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Like this is another thing where when it first came out,
- 23:35Speaker 1: the league was like, oh, no, fantasy football, we don't
- 23:37Speaker 1: want to be involved in that. Now they give you
- 23:39Speaker 1: the scroll on the red zone with everybody's points, right,
- 23:42Speaker 1: they give you the whole week it's their projected point total,
- 23:46Speaker 1: and then while the games are going on, they give
- 23:48Speaker 1: you the guys stats and their point totals and like
- 23:51Speaker 1: in standard scoring leagues, which you know Matt would be
- 23:55Speaker 1: able to tell you about. Paul just wins leagues. He
- 23:57Speaker 1: doesn't know what the points. Yeah, you just the default settings. Ah, yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you just autodraft, right, Paul, You're just I did not autodraft. No,
- 24:07Speaker 1: I just did not make any transactions throughout the entirety
- 24:10Speaker 1: of the season, and I won the championship with less
- 24:12Speaker 1: players on my roster than I was allowed. You should
- 24:14Speaker 1: sell picks sniff free Parolo fantasy pick all right, eight
- 24:18Speaker 1: five five past five pick all your favorite players, don't
- 24:20Speaker 1: worry about anything else. Eight five five Passive ticket hotline.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Web radio at Patrice dot com is the email address.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Let's find out what is on people's mind. We'll go
- 24:30Speaker 1: to Logan in Indiana. What's up Logan? Hey, guys, I
- 24:35Speaker 1: want to I want to say it's a twister radio back.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Joe Okay and guys are exciting to play together this year,
- 24:45Speaker 1: and I can't wait to see him playing. I want
- 24:47Speaker 1: to make a couple of comments. Yesterday's show was awesome
- 24:52Speaker 1: with Balajandro Frances because she's great and a great argument
- 24:58Speaker 1: with Paul. She has the ag Okay nice I wasn't
- 25:03Speaker 1: aware that I was in an How can you blow
- 25:07Speaker 1: poll shit about blowing his deck off when you hire
- 25:11Speaker 1: somebody above your yard? What is he talking about? I
- 25:15Speaker 1: don't know. Something to do with Paul? Oh the deck? Yeah?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Oh I thought he said something else. Never I powerwashed
- 25:22Speaker 1: the deck. I think that's how we got onto that
- 25:24Speaker 1: whole deck. Yeah right, I want to take your man
- 25:27Speaker 1: card because you don't do your own lawn work here,
- 25:30Speaker 1: Oh except for your back in between mos. Trust me,
- 25:35Speaker 1: I do plenty of yard work. I get the scars
- 25:39Speaker 1: to prove it. Yeah. So do we argue on Tuesday?
- 25:44Speaker 1: I don't think I wasn't aware on that. Um that's
- 25:48Speaker 1: coming now, let's see Christian is an LA. What's up? Christian? Hey,
- 25:52Speaker 1: good morning you guys. Thank the happy Thursday. Hey, so
- 25:57Speaker 1: I'm a little confused. What the hell is going on here? Like?
- 26:00Speaker 1: Did we not bring Parker in to have the but
- 26:03Speaker 1: a big body with a veteran guy? Do we not
- 26:06Speaker 1: need faster linebackers and other things? Why are we bringing
- 26:10Speaker 1: a big body guy that's again not a number one,
- 26:15Speaker 1: not even really a number two in to muck up
- 26:19Speaker 1: the training camp we already got going. No, No, get
- 26:22Speaker 1: what we what we need. Don't don't don't, don't worry
- 26:25Speaker 1: about this. You're talking about Humphrey. Yeah, he's not even
- 26:28Speaker 1: a number five on the team. It's a camp body
- 26:32Speaker 1: every year. If you go back and go down to
- 26:34Speaker 1: Patriots dot Com, look at the archives this time of year,
- 26:37Speaker 1: they're bringing in guys at all positions. You know. Um,
- 26:41Speaker 1: So don't don't worry about it, don't. You know. I
- 26:43Speaker 1: haven't heard them bringing any any They will don't be
- 26:46Speaker 1: any linebackers, a little fast, Yeah, we need fast linebackers.
- 26:51Speaker 1: There's a ton of If you want camp bringing some
- 26:53Speaker 1: of them, why are you bring a receivers. It's like
- 26:56Speaker 1: we try to fill a need to go overboard with
- 26:59Speaker 1: mediocre players. He's not filling any needs yet. I mean,
- 27:02Speaker 1: they're all kinds of mediocre players right now. I don't
- 27:04Speaker 1: think there's any guys that you're gonna get that are
- 27:07Speaker 1: going to move the needle all that much. So I
- 27:09Speaker 1: think it's more just a matter of the individual player,
- 27:11Speaker 1: and we kind of have a need put them in there.
- 27:14Speaker 1: But but it's not like, Hey, this guy could end
- 27:17Speaker 1: up being an impact player for us. That might be
- 27:20Speaker 1: asking a lot, But he's got some traits to work
- 27:23Speaker 1: with and you know you'll see you know, I like you.
- 27:27Speaker 1: So so what are you saying, like, you know, if
- 27:29Speaker 1: you're gonna bring in bodies, bring in fast linebackers, is
- 27:32Speaker 1: that is that what you're saying. I'm saying, let's look
- 27:36Speaker 1: at what we did in the draft, look at the
- 27:37Speaker 1: hole that we didn't really get a chance to build,
- 27:39Speaker 1: and you're going to just bring in bodies. Well, they
- 27:41Speaker 1: but they did have a chance to fill it, they
- 27:43Speaker 1: chose not to. So what does that tell you, right
- 27:47Speaker 1: right exactly that this is what I don't understand. What like, Well,
- 27:50Speaker 1: it tells you that they're happy with the guys they
- 27:52Speaker 1: have on the roster. Oh you guys, I'm not. I
- 27:58Speaker 1: don't think anybody. It's not my decision to me. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 1: it doesn't matter what you think. But they they happen,
- 28:05Speaker 1: you know, from what they're doing. They're saying, okay, ouch, Perkins,
- 28:11Speaker 1: but grown these guys like they think that they've got
- 28:15Speaker 1: something there. Well, I would say mac Wilson, mail Millan, McMillan,
- 28:20Speaker 1: those two guys. Yeah, And that's that's what I mean.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I think those are the one to ones everywhere. I mean,
- 28:24Speaker 1: just out of curiosity, who's on the open market right now,
- 28:27Speaker 1: that is a difference maker that you want to sign. No,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm not saying I've identified any different maker. I'm saying
- 28:34Speaker 1: this is not my job. My job is not to
- 28:36Speaker 1: scout the NFL for upcoming players and see, hey, this
- 28:40Speaker 1: guy promptly a fast linebarker, like we need it. Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I don't think speed at linebackers a problem. I think
- 28:44Speaker 1: talent that linebackers a problem. But I think they have
- 28:47Speaker 1: the guys that Fred just rattled off. Those guys can run. Yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I don't know how how good they are. I don't
- 28:52Speaker 1: know if any of them can play. But I don't
- 28:54Speaker 1: think anybody's gonna look at like Josh Uch and say
- 28:57Speaker 1: he's too slow. I don't know if he's any good.
- 28:59Speaker 1: He has played in three years, but we'll see it
- 29:01Speaker 1: runs fast. Yeah, right, right, So it seems it just
- 29:05Speaker 1: seems to me that we're doing these a little different,
- 29:07Speaker 1: a little squirrelly, a little off. Tilter does that? Is
- 29:10Speaker 1: it just me? Well? I think at I think what
- 29:13Speaker 1: sets the tone is offense and what they're doing with
- 29:16Speaker 1: the coaching. I think that kind of like you said, Tilts, everything,
- 29:20Speaker 1: like what are they doing? But otherwise it's business as
- 29:23Speaker 1: usual to me. I mean, you know, I know people
- 29:27Speaker 1: don't want to hear this, but they're rebuilding. I mean,
- 29:30Speaker 1: it is what it is. Yeah, they're not as talented
- 29:32Speaker 1: as they've been. What other team has tried to build
- 29:36Speaker 1: with a bunch of MEDIYOCA players? Like why not? Go? Okay,
- 29:39Speaker 1: we're trying to build. We need entire players. I'm not
- 29:41Speaker 1: going to take seven mediocre guys. We're gonna just get
- 29:44Speaker 1: too really good. I mean, I'm just using basic logic. Okay,
- 29:49Speaker 1: So did is that what you thought last year when
- 29:51Speaker 1: they spend all that money in free agency? When they
- 29:55Speaker 1: I thought they made huge mistakes. Okay, they did not
- 29:57Speaker 1: get the right plation at the time. You're in You're
- 29:59Speaker 1: in a mine already up that way at the time.
- 30:02Speaker 1: So when it happened, you were like, these aren't the
- 30:04Speaker 1: right guys. You were saying that, right, Okay? I called
- 30:08Speaker 1: you guys, You guys, why are we picking up like,
- 30:11Speaker 1: you know, almost almost great um tight ends? Do we
- 30:15Speaker 1: need to be clear the receivers? And we clearly I know,
- 30:17Speaker 1: But who else was out there? They picked the best
- 30:20Speaker 1: of the litter. I didn't I didn't possibly think I
- 30:24Speaker 1: didn't think we needed John Smith and Hunter Henry okay,
- 30:27Speaker 1: one of the two fine right to anchor, to anchor
- 30:30Speaker 1: the the the tight end. And then where would you
- 30:32Speaker 1: be without both of them. There's a ton of people
- 30:34Speaker 1: out there. I mean, last year was what's a joke
- 30:37Speaker 1: to me? It just showed like, organizationally, what the hell
- 30:40Speaker 1: is going on with the Patriots? But used to be
- 30:43Speaker 1: so solid, so methodical. Yeah. Yeah, you also used to
- 30:46Speaker 1: have the greatest player who's ever played the game playing quarterback,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you know, which is why you were so solid. And
- 30:52Speaker 1: thanks for the call, Chris, you know, I it's fair. Well,
- 30:55Speaker 1: everything you're saying is fair. I think it absolutely is.
- 30:57Speaker 1: But but but I just think that you're ignoring the
- 31:00Speaker 1: fact that they don't have a ton of talent and
- 31:03Speaker 1: they have to build. But we've been covering Bill running
- 31:07Speaker 1: this team since two thousand, a long time, and one
- 31:10Speaker 1: of the things that we've realized over that time is
- 31:14Speaker 1: you can never say this is how he does things
- 31:17Speaker 1: always it's because it never it's not that way, you know.
- 31:21Speaker 1: And last year was a really outlier in that was
- 31:25Speaker 1: a year where the Patriots had all this money. The
- 31:28Speaker 1: salary cap had gone down because of the pandemic and
- 31:32Speaker 1: they really didn't have a lot of competition, And I
- 31:34Speaker 1: would agree with Christians, and they took advantage of it.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I would agree with Christian. They spent a lot of
- 31:39Speaker 1: money on mediocre players, so and that's fair. That's the
- 31:43Speaker 1: part where if that's his opinion, I I'm fine with that,
- 31:47Speaker 1: you know, but at the time, we were all like, wow,
- 31:51Speaker 1: they got the best they could at those positions, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 1: best on the market, and we were all applauding them
- 31:57Speaker 1: for taking advantage of the situation. You know. Um, Now,
- 32:01Speaker 1: whether or not you like the players, now, that's that's fine.
- 32:04Speaker 1: If you don't think that John H. Smith, um is
- 32:07Speaker 1: that good after all, then you know that's your opinion.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I think he's fine. But I think they spent a
- 32:12Speaker 1: lot of them. They spent money on great and they
- 32:14Speaker 1: got good. Yeah, that's the only thing I would say. Yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: they but I'm not killing them for it. Like they
- 32:20Speaker 1: needed players, right, they didn't have any players in twenty twenty. Yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 1: now they got some in free agency last year. Like
- 32:28Speaker 1: I agree with Christian, they didn't get great players in
- 32:30Speaker 1: free agency. But Hunter Henry was good. Yeah, like nine
- 32:33Speaker 1: touchdowns and I think he got a season, and it's
- 32:38Speaker 1: also hard to It was also hard to predict the
- 32:41Speaker 1: underperformances of the free agents that came in. No one
- 32:43Speaker 1: really I would have been able to. I would have
- 32:45Speaker 1: done that. I did it the whole scene. Like they
- 32:50Speaker 1: they signed guys thinking they were something that they weren't.
- 32:52Speaker 1: And Jonah Smith is the perfect example of that forty
- 32:55Speaker 1: catch guy that they thought was like a sixty five
- 32:57Speaker 1: catch guy. Well, who, that's the media. They think that
- 33:00Speaker 1: that's that's the media, right, And and Alex you weren't here,
- 33:03Speaker 1: but bighead Addy Hard he's the one who let that
- 33:05Speaker 1: hold show. Well at the time that they signed all
- 33:07Speaker 1: these guys, we all said on this show, history tells
- 33:12Speaker 1: us not every one of them is going to work out.
- 33:14Speaker 1: It just doesn't work that way, you know, Yeah, yeah,
- 33:18Speaker 1: I mean I just tie it back to that people
- 33:21Speaker 1: are having a hard time knowing what to grasp with
- 33:24Speaker 1: this team, and I think it connects to the shortcomings
- 33:27Speaker 1: in the draft and the lack of a young core
- 33:30Speaker 1: that you know you can rely on right now, and
- 33:32Speaker 1: you're kind of merging some free agency signed last year
- 33:35Speaker 1: who albeit, you know, we all agreed we like that
- 33:39Speaker 1: they were all young, they were all coming off their
- 33:40Speaker 1: first contract. They were all about twenty six, twenty seven
- 33:42Speaker 1: years old. If you're going to sign a free agent,
- 33:44Speaker 1: that's the ones you want for this point. But I
- 33:47Speaker 1: think that speaks to what you know, the last call
- 33:49Speaker 1: went to with the linebackers, it's why didn't they get guys? Well,
- 33:52Speaker 1: they have some guys, and these guys have to play.
- 33:55Speaker 1: You've got to figure out which one of these guys
- 33:57Speaker 1: are going to be able to contribute. Who's your next
- 33:59Speaker 1: core going to be? You know? In some ways, I
- 34:01Speaker 1: think this upcoming season reminds me more, unfortunately of the
- 34:04Speaker 1: COVID season, when it was some of those guys you
- 34:07Speaker 1: were rolling out on defense it was practice squatters. I
- 34:09Speaker 1: don't think it's going to be that bad this year,
- 34:11Speaker 1: but I do think there's going to be guys coming
- 34:12Speaker 1: out that you're not as familiar with, you know, instead
- 34:15Speaker 1: of Terres Hall. You know, you're gonna get Anthony Jennings again,
- 34:17Speaker 1: and he's going to be out there and he's going
- 34:19Speaker 1: to play a role. So I just think it's hard
- 34:21Speaker 1: right now for people, Patriots fans especially to grasp on
- 34:24Speaker 1: to what this team is right now because some parts
- 34:26Speaker 1: of it you got Mac Jones that you know, you
- 34:28Speaker 1: got that. That's good. He's a good kid. He's doing
- 34:31Speaker 1: everything right. But this year they got to put it together.
- 34:34Speaker 1: They gotta find some young players that they've drafted that
- 34:36Speaker 1: that can play at a level that we're not really
- 34:38Speaker 1: expecting right now. And I don't think. I think if
- 34:40Speaker 1: at least two of these like defensive players that have
- 34:42Speaker 1: been drafted over the last three years don't emerge, then
- 34:46Speaker 1: I think they're in real trouble on the defensive side
- 34:48Speaker 1: of the ball without those guys stepping up, replacing the
- 34:51Speaker 1: high tower of the Collins, etc. Yeah, and I like that.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I like the way that Mike said that, But I
- 34:56Speaker 1: also think it's it's just in relation to that, the
- 35:00Speaker 1: people are having a hard time grasping, you know, grabbing
- 35:03Speaker 1: hold of it, the fact that they're not favorites anymore.
- 35:07Speaker 1: They can't they can't accept it. Like they can't. I mean,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I heard all year last year that Buffalo sucked. Like
- 35:14Speaker 1: how many times do we go on these shows Buffalo sucks.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Buffalo sucks. They lost to Jacksonville. They suck, they suck,
- 35:19Speaker 1: they suck until they didn't punt in two different games
- 35:22Speaker 1: against you, you know, then then they maybe, you know,
- 35:25Speaker 1: maybe they're not as bad as we thought, you know,
- 35:28Speaker 1: and it's still like a refusal to admit that they're
- 35:31Speaker 1: the clear cut favorite in the division over the Patriots.
- 35:34Speaker 1: A lot of Patriots fans will not bring themselves to
- 35:37Speaker 1: say we're fighting for a wildcard because I think they
- 35:41Speaker 1: look at this roster in ways that don't exist, like
- 35:45Speaker 1: they're just it's fantasy. They're not as good as Buffalo,
- 35:49Speaker 1: They're not as good on paper as a lot of
- 35:51Speaker 1: teams in the AFC. Again, games aren't played on paper.
- 35:54Speaker 1: We'll see what unfolds when they play. Yeah, it's it's
- 35:57Speaker 1: just I think it's jarring too, as I think they're
- 36:00Speaker 1: a long time that many years we would look at
- 36:02Speaker 1: the roster and say, there aren't really any holes. I mean,
- 36:04Speaker 1: there might be some older guys, but for the most part,
- 36:07Speaker 1: there's not a glaring hole on this roster. And you know,
- 36:09Speaker 1: the last few years, I think there's always been some
- 36:12Speaker 1: kind of glaring hole that we were well aware of
- 36:15Speaker 1: in the off season, like last year cornerback. You know,
- 36:17Speaker 1: we talked about they got a draft a guy, and
- 36:19Speaker 1: you know, and then you get to the end of
- 36:20Speaker 1: the season. Juwan Williams has got to start, you know.
- 36:23Speaker 1: So it's like it's things like that that I think
- 36:25Speaker 1: are jarring. And I'll give you an example of that.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Just because Mike said cornerback, we get asked, Pfbuts, why
- 36:30Speaker 1: is no one talking about Sean Wade. I don't know,
- 36:34Speaker 1: I don't. I mean he was drafted last year and
- 36:36Speaker 1: before he even got to training camp, I mean through
- 36:39Speaker 1: training camp, the team that drafted him decided he wasn't
- 36:42Speaker 1: worth trying to develop. He came to you and never
- 36:45Speaker 1: got on the field with any level of consistency, despite
- 36:48Speaker 1: the fact that you had no corners left by the
- 36:51Speaker 1: end of the year. You know, Mills was out, Gilmour
- 36:55Speaker 1: was gone, it was j. C. Jackson and that was it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And he still couldn't get out there regularly with those guys.
- 37:01Speaker 1: So yeah, that's why I'm not looking at guys like
- 37:04Speaker 1: but I think people are gonna, well, you know, this
- 37:06Speaker 1: is this is what Bill does. You know, Malcolm Butler,
- 37:07Speaker 1: you know, just plug in the next guy. Jonathan Jones,
- 37:10Speaker 1: Sean Wade, Jewan Williams, these guys haven't done with Malcolm Butler.
- 37:16Speaker 1: By the way, every team has guys that they plug
- 37:19Speaker 1: in right exactly. But I think that, you know, part
- 37:22Speaker 1: of being a fan is you think more of those
- 37:24Speaker 1: guys then probably, and I'm not saying part of being
- 37:26Speaker 1: a Patriots fan. That's part of being a fan. You
- 37:29Speaker 1: think these young guys that you haven't seen, oh that
- 37:31Speaker 1: this one, this promise there, yeah, we'll see yeah, but
- 37:34Speaker 1: I mean the tackle position this year, you know, Isaiah Wynn,
- 37:38Speaker 1: Trent Brown, if they get hurt like that, there's another
- 37:42Speaker 1: spot going into this year that you're like, you could
- 37:44Speaker 1: be you lost two Stockers and you replaced one with one.
- 37:49Speaker 1: So if something happens to somebody like last year, where
- 37:53Speaker 1: do you go? You know? And and I do think
- 37:56Speaker 1: that this is, as Paul said, all part of a rebuild.
- 37:59Speaker 1: And you know, in the past you might have had
- 38:01Speaker 1: some holes, but you would say, yeah, but we got
- 38:04Speaker 1: Dante high Tower in his prime, we got Steph Gilmore
- 38:06Speaker 1: in his prime, we got Devin mccordy in his prime.
- 38:09Speaker 1: They'll make up for the lack of a left defensive
- 38:12Speaker 1: end or some random position. And now it's all now
- 38:15Speaker 1: it's we don't really know. We have Bill Ye and
- 38:18Speaker 1: he'll figure it out. He always does. He'll make up
- 38:20Speaker 1: for that, you know, with that. But he's just a
- 38:23Speaker 1: man like he can only do so much a man.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's just a man. Cut him, just a man. Rock.
- 38:29Speaker 1: It's a Thursday in the offseason, but the calls and
- 38:32Speaker 1: emails are flying in, so let's get back to them.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Patty's an agawam. What's up, Patty? If you bleed, we
- 38:40Speaker 1: could kill it. There you go, a little cross over
- 38:43Speaker 1: the all. I just wanted to say, Hey, it's good
- 38:46Speaker 1: to hear a fellow foe in the house. You know, Hey,
- 38:49Speaker 1: go Brownies. That's right. Well, I'm from Springfield. Go Golden Eagles. Okay, yes,
- 38:55Speaker 1: we love Central. Jeez. I was gonna a little about marijuana,
- 39:01Speaker 1: but I kind of want to get into what you
- 39:02Speaker 1: guys were talking about. I remember last year around this time,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I don't know, I can't remember if it was this show,
- 39:11Speaker 1: Freddie or if it was rook Show where he said,
- 39:13Speaker 1: give me the two guys coming in, like one on offense,
- 39:17Speaker 1: one on defense, that has to perform. And the two
- 39:19Speaker 1: guys that brought up were Matt Dudon, and I said,
- 39:23Speaker 1: based on the contract that they gave him, Johnny Smith
- 39:25Speaker 1: has to perform. And I think the last time I
- 39:28Speaker 1: called in, I asked you guys if you thought there
- 39:31Speaker 1: was any way that they would try and move him
- 39:34Speaker 1: at any point this season and trying to eat the money.
- 39:37Speaker 1: But I mean they eat the PAULI to your point,
- 39:42Speaker 1: Like I think when they signed him, I don't think
- 39:44Speaker 1: they thought they were getting a sixty five catch guy.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I thought they were. I think they thought they were
- 39:48Speaker 1: getting like an eighty catch, like ten touchdown guy. And
- 39:51Speaker 1: it's just I don't know where the evidence from that
- 39:54Speaker 1: came from. Well that's see, that's my point, Like, you
- 39:56Speaker 1: can't sign a guy and think he's going to do
- 39:58Speaker 1: that when that would have doubled his previous best. Like
- 40:02Speaker 1: that's I don't think they thought that, to be honest,
- 40:05Speaker 1: I don't think Bill thought he was going to do that,
- 40:07Speaker 1: but they certainly thought more of him than what they got.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And what was the plan when they signed him too,
- 40:12Speaker 1: because they didn't play a lot of two last year. Well,
- 40:15Speaker 1: they also signed him first, yeah, and then Henry was
- 40:18Speaker 1: still there and they said, hey, let's get him both.
- 40:20Speaker 1: But you need two tight ends, and where do you
- 40:23Speaker 1: go if one of those guys is out? Like you
- 40:25Speaker 1: feel good about Dalton Keene or Devin Asiassi based on
- 40:29Speaker 1: the two years that they've been here. Unfortunately they can't
- 40:31Speaker 1: get on the field, right, I mean, honestly, as was
- 40:33Speaker 1: healthy all year last year, it was a healthy scratch, right, Yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I just I mean, I do wonder about that of
- 40:40Speaker 1: the timing of it all. And I mean, I think
- 40:41Speaker 1: and after it happened, we all just assumed, though grond
- 40:44Speaker 1: carn ends we're back to the you know, the two
- 40:46Speaker 1: tight ends set and the speed and it, and it's
- 40:49Speaker 1: just never really really translated. I mean, I think Hunter
- 40:52Speaker 1: Henry's a really traditional kind of tight end and you know,
- 40:56Speaker 1: John who though maybe they can unlock him a little
- 40:59Speaker 1: bit more just because he's he's not that kind of
- 41:01Speaker 1: traditional guy. I think he does have some potential, but again,
- 41:04Speaker 1: we didn't really see him play fullback or anything like
- 41:06Speaker 1: that in camp. He sees playing tight end. Still, let's
- 41:10Speaker 1: go to Todd, North Carolina. What's up Todd, Hey, Paulie,
- 41:15Speaker 1: I'm here to bring it today. Okay. So Celtics in seven,
- 41:21Speaker 1: the youth and the bench and the physicality is gonna
- 41:23Speaker 1: wear down them Golden Warriors and they're gonna lose. Okay,
- 41:28Speaker 1: And that's that big this year. Write it off for
- 41:34Speaker 1: the past. I just one injury here or one injury there,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and they're gonna have a really tough time. I think
- 41:40Speaker 1: we're gonna have a tough time anyway. Stop in the run,
- 41:43Speaker 1: and that puts a lot of pressure because now we
- 41:45Speaker 1: can't play the type of defense we want to stop
- 41:48Speaker 1: to some of the receivers, and our division's tough. But
- 41:51Speaker 1: gets just wait until next year. Next year is going
- 41:54Speaker 1: to be different because then we're gonna have a lot
- 41:56Speaker 1: of stuff changing and moving forward. I just look at
- 41:59Speaker 1: it right now, this thing, it's totally a rebuilt year.
- 42:03Speaker 1: And if we hit to five hundred, I am going
- 42:05Speaker 1: to be ecstatic. Well, I guess you can't get to
- 42:09Speaker 1: five hundred and seventeen, But you know what I mean
- 42:11Speaker 1: around there, Pittsburgh did it. Yeah, you're right, I would
- 42:21Speaker 1: agree with you. I think that's you know, eight nine wins.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I think that's I think that's high end. I think
- 42:27Speaker 1: that's what you're looking at. I know you think eleven. No,
- 42:30Speaker 1: you know my I said seven and nine. I mean, no,
- 42:34Speaker 1: seven and ten? Really no, I said, what was it?
- 42:36Speaker 1: What did I say? This is the first in the
- 42:37Speaker 1: history of this show that your prediction is worse than mine.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I had um uh what was it? Eight
- 42:45Speaker 1: eight nine? Eight and nine was my prediction? Eight and nine? Yeah, yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 1: about But I have to I reserve the right to
- 42:53Speaker 1: change my mind. Right. Yeah again, d Lime with D
- 42:59Speaker 1: Line and line actors, that's where I want to see
- 43:00Speaker 1: some growth. I think we're gonna have to bring in
- 43:02Speaker 1: somebody young somewhere along the line, if we even if
- 43:04Speaker 1: we have to dress up Paulie in a suit and
- 43:06Speaker 1: put them on the line or something, because right now
- 43:09Speaker 1: or D Line, I don't trust it at all. I'm
- 43:13Speaker 1: not stopping the run. Don't worry about that. Thanks Todd. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 1: this is like he's speechless. I'm with it. I'm with it.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I mean, that's you know, it's the same guy Mike's
- 43:24Speaker 1: worried about stopping the run. He's more I am, but
- 43:27Speaker 1: he doesn't know what to say. Well, because it's bad.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I know. Well that's that's the thing. And it's you know,
- 43:32Speaker 1: veteran guys, and you hate saying it, but I just
- 43:35Speaker 1: don't have a lot of confidence up front, and I
- 43:37Speaker 1: try to stay consistent and some you know, the way
- 43:40Speaker 1: I see football, and I want to win in the
- 43:41Speaker 1: trenches and I want to have guys up front that
- 43:43Speaker 1: that you know, set a tone and make plays in
- 43:45Speaker 1: the backfield, and you know, I just I don't know
- 43:48Speaker 1: anyone who can make an argument for me right now
- 43:50Speaker 1: that unless some of these new second level guys play
- 43:53Speaker 1: well beyond a level that we've seen before, that it's
- 43:56Speaker 1: that it's going to be better than it was last year.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Richards in Ohio? What's up? Richard? Hey, guys, how's it going? Uh?
- 44:05Speaker 1: I was just wanting to make a person for Taekwon Thornton.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I see a lot of people complain about his thighs
- 44:11Speaker 1: being smaller, but you look at him and you look
- 44:13Speaker 1: at somebody like Stanley Morgan. Granted it's like a four
- 44:16Speaker 1: inch difference, they're about the same sighs. And Stanley Morgan
- 44:19Speaker 1: isn't stoppable. Should be in the Hall of Fame? Yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 1: I mean, can invoke I think, why not just go
- 44:30Speaker 1: to Randy Moss. Yeah, he's more like Randy Moss body wise.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I mean, Stanley Morgan is Richard's absolutely right, Stanley Morgan
- 44:39Speaker 1: is criminally underrated. He should be in the Pro Football
- 44:41Speaker 1: Hall of Fame? Like, can we let the guy play
- 44:44Speaker 1: a game before we say he looks like that? Just
- 44:46Speaker 1: because he's the same size. Yeah. Well, I think his
- 44:49Speaker 1: point is, don't you don't right now use his size
- 44:53Speaker 1: against him, like he can't play because of his side.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I don't think people say he can't play because of
- 44:59Speaker 1: his size. I think people I wonder how he'll hold
- 45:01Speaker 1: up because of it. Yeah, yeah, I don't think people
- 45:04Speaker 1: say he doesn't have any ability. He guy can fly. Yeah.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I just want to see them be able to use
- 45:09Speaker 1: that speed because there's been too many times guys come
- 45:11Speaker 1: in here running four twos, four threes and it just
- 45:14Speaker 1: doesn't look fast on the field. It's it's got to translate.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I want to see how, you know, how does it
- 45:18Speaker 1: look compared to Agalore. I mean, he's got some some
- 45:21Speaker 1: quickness on the outside. We'll see, but it's an element
- 45:24Speaker 1: that they need. I want to see how Mac does
- 45:27Speaker 1: with him though, you know, Mac able to find that
- 45:29Speaker 1: connection and get some downfield tight window throws, those kind
- 45:32Speaker 1: of things. Like. But my expectation for Thornton this year
- 45:36Speaker 1: bit player twenty to thirty catches. If he gives us
- 45:40Speaker 1: a couple explosive plays, twenty to thirty catches and some
- 45:45Speaker 1: of those are downfield for big plays or drawing, yeah,
- 45:49Speaker 1: then great, that's I mean, that's the ideal. It's hard
- 45:53Speaker 1: to say he's going to be out there snap one
- 45:55Speaker 1: game one, out on the outside getting ready to play
- 45:58Speaker 1: every snap. I mean, but I think there's gonna be
- 46:00Speaker 1: some third downs that that he'll get a chance. I
- 46:02Speaker 1: don't even know if he's gonna have twenty or thirty catches. No,
- 46:04Speaker 1: I know. And that's that's that. That's my And that's
- 46:08Speaker 1: not necessarily a bad thing. Yeah, that's just a bad thing.
- 46:11Speaker 1: I just if he doesn't get involved in the offense,
- 46:13Speaker 1: I won't think that. Well, what if Parker and Agalore
- 46:16Speaker 1: and everybody else is doing really well, I want him
- 46:19Speaker 1: doing really well. Well if they're doing really well in
- 46:22Speaker 1: the second round, yeah, yeah, those other guys won't be
- 46:25Speaker 1: here next year. Well Parker, right, But I mean, I
- 46:29Speaker 1: hear the point. If the offense is playing really well,
- 46:31Speaker 1: then but what are the chances. I mean, it's it's
- 46:34Speaker 1: it's a tough it's a tough grind. I'm bullish on
- 46:36Speaker 1: the offense this year. I'm a little bit too. I'm bullish.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I'm a little bit too. I'm buying. I'm buying the offense. Yeah,
- 46:44Speaker 1: fred to one, Okay, optimistic, not bullish. Okay, I'm went else,
- 46:48Speaker 1: all right, I'm not I'm not what can I can?
- 46:51Speaker 1: I can? I can? I can, I can, I can
- 46:52Speaker 1: I finish? But like, compare this group of guys to
- 46:56Speaker 1: what they've had in recent years, just at receiver tight end,
- 46:59Speaker 1: you know, Like, I mean, that's basically the same as
- 47:01Speaker 1: last year. Add Parker. I think it's better. Why deeper
- 47:05Speaker 1: because he didn't have Thornton or Parker? You got two,
- 47:08Speaker 1: you got two, You have a second round draft pick
- 47:09Speaker 1: and approve an NFL guy into the mix and you've
- 47:11Speaker 1: got Yeah, you know what I think of Parker. Um,
- 47:14Speaker 1: I think he'll be fine for you know, eight, eight
- 47:16Speaker 1: or nine games, and Thornton I'm writing off I don't
- 47:20Speaker 1: think he'll be part of the part of the equation. Now.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Maybe next year I might look at it differently. Yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 1: I don't know. I like what they have, but I
- 47:27Speaker 1: think they have basically the same cast of characters plus
- 47:29Speaker 1: Parker coming back, and I don't think they were good
- 47:31Speaker 1: last year. Second year jump for the free agents, okay,
- 47:35Speaker 1: Romande Stevenson, an eighth year jump for Nelson Aglah so
- 47:39Speaker 1: I h I'm very very optimistic about the offense. There's
- 47:44Speaker 1: a lot of pieces. I mean, that's just what it is.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I'm not going to that much better than he was
- 47:48Speaker 1: last year. Right, how much do these guys approve? I mean,
- 47:52Speaker 1: we all could agree that some of the free agents
- 47:53Speaker 1: will work out some of the wouldn't. I mean, can
- 47:55Speaker 1: we agree with some of the second year guys might
- 47:57Speaker 1: play better this year than they did last year? Yep,
- 48:00Speaker 1: you know, I don't think that that's crazy. Only if
- 48:02Speaker 1: we're going to agree that some of them might play
- 48:04Speaker 1: worse than they did last Sure, but now I think
- 48:06Speaker 1: they have some depth to maybe over from that. I mean,
- 48:09Speaker 1: I think you added the guy. If Agilore doesn't play well,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you've got an option to try. Last year, you didn't
- 48:16Speaker 1: have an option. You had Christian Wilkerson. You know you
- 48:18Speaker 1: have something that would at least be Hey, Agilo is
- 48:21Speaker 1: not playing great, Taekwon Thornton's going to get the start today.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I'd be excited about that more than all. Right, let's
- 48:25Speaker 1: get a look at Christian Wilkerson. And don't forget the
- 48:27Speaker 1: emergence of Trey Nixon. And that's I mean, who's getting
- 48:30Speaker 1: cut just out of curiosity. We're gonna go with the
- 48:33Speaker 1: eight wide receiver offense. I mean, none of them are
- 48:35Speaker 1: any good, but he's an innovator. I think some of
- 48:39Speaker 1: them can play. We got no tackles, it's all all
- 48:42Speaker 1: wide receiver. Yeah. I mean, I just look at what
- 48:44Speaker 1: they did last year, and some of those numbers that
- 48:46Speaker 1: Mike Reis had over the weekend were eye opening to
- 48:49Speaker 1: me about how little separation they had down the field.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And I mean, I you know, you can trumpet to
- 48:55Speaker 1: Davante Parker's ability to have contested catches. He had the
- 48:59Speaker 1: tightest window catches in the league the last five years.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I don't think that's a good thing. I don't. Yeah,
- 49:05Speaker 1: but I think that meant doesn't get open. Now. They
- 49:07Speaker 1: all have habachi parties together and they hang out. Now
- 49:13Speaker 1: we're here from the lifestyle, they're gonna be so close.
- 49:17Speaker 1: They're all friends. They love each other. Tons of emails
- 49:24Speaker 1: coming in at web radio, at Patriots dot Com, Richard
- 49:27Speaker 1: from he just it's just the same guy, Richard in Ohio.
- 49:30Speaker 1: It's a different I don't know if it's the same one,
- 49:32Speaker 1: but he says, I keep seeing Odell to the Patriots
- 49:36Speaker 1: and fans on Facebook or Reddit loving the possible signing.
- 49:39Speaker 1: I think it's a terrible signing. If you look at it,
- 49:42Speaker 1: Odell is coming off another ACL tear. I love the guy,
- 49:45Speaker 1: but he's gonna end up having the knees of a
- 49:47Speaker 1: newborn calf at this rate. Plus, why do we want
- 49:51Speaker 1: a player who may not even play this season? At best?
- 49:54Speaker 1: We get him in October. So are you seeing or
- 49:57Speaker 1: hearing that today? Yeah? I I don't, But that's not
- 50:01Speaker 1: that's not my realm. Yeah yeah, but like, was it
- 50:03Speaker 1: just speculation? I've heard Cincinnati and I saw Joe Burrow
- 50:07Speaker 1: tweeted something out that's sort of, you know, one of
- 50:09Speaker 1: those troll tweets, kind of letting you think that it
- 50:12Speaker 1: might happen. Right. I think that's one of those things
- 50:15Speaker 1: that just gets written because editors know it'll do good
- 50:17Speaker 1: in trial. Oh yeah, put something up there about Odell
- 50:20Speaker 1: and the Patriots. Every prominent player is always tied to
- 50:23Speaker 1: the Patriots. I think it's at the behest of the
- 50:25Speaker 1: of the agents. Those articles do numbers because if the
- 50:29Speaker 1: Patriots express interest in you, the rest of the league
- 50:32Speaker 1: theoretically takes notice and says, oh, maybe we should take
- 50:36Speaker 1: a second look at Odell Beckham. That's the way it
- 50:38Speaker 1: used to work. That still happen when Tom Brady was
- 50:40Speaker 1: the quarterback. Dan writes in, given that the PU audience

- 52:51Speaker 1: Our version of Seinfeld? Yeah? Yeah and good? Yeah, different
- 52:56Speaker 1: with Larry David. But there are a lot of episodes
- 52:59Speaker 1: that are Seinfeld. Episodes that are redone the Jersey. There's

- 1:02:22Speaker 1: we'll see if they play. If they play, then I'll
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: say that was wrong. Okay, but last year they didn't play.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: The youth didn't play. It took like it took like
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: eight weeks from reminder Stevenson to like fully established himself
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: as a play that. Joe's pretty young. But I feel
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: like they got rid of three of their oldest linebackers
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and pretty old. You're still pitting the old drama as
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: hard as you were beating it last year when they
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: got rid of the old I mean they got rid
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: of like I mean, they're three and they brought back
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: one of them one. Yeah, I don't like that. I
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: want young guys to play. I don't want I don't
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: want McMillan and Bentley to play. I want mcgron in
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Perkins to play. Like, if they do play, I'll say
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: I was wrong. He's playing them. I just I'm skills
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: to play. I don't really care at this point if
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: you're twenty eight or twenty four like that, you know
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: what I mean, Like, I do like because you're not
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: going to get better with twenty eight year olds that
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: are already cratered in their career. Yeah, that's the way
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: that Lee goes. Like quarterbacks can play forever in you know,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: there's there's random exceptions, but linebackers don't generally just keep
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: on plugging. Offensive linemen can play longer. Yeah, there's always exceptions.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I'm not telling you that again. When I use the
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: terms like always never, no one everyone like, I don't
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: mean those terms literally. There's always except. That's another great

- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Fred in um Oka in Tampa has a quick game.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Who was the last team this player played for? Ready?
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I love the games, Alex, get ready for the games.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: We'll start with an easy one. Drew Bledsoe last team
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: he played for? Dallas correct? Ty Law Kansas City both wrong? Denver,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Denver is correct, Asante Samuel Atlanta correct? Wow, Randy Moss
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Tennessee wrong, San Cisco correct. Finally, Danny Woodhead Patriots wrong,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Danny Woodhead. Where did he go? Charges? Nope? Ravens. Ravens,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: do not recall a cont recall. You lose track of
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: these guys. It's your due, Like you know, I was
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: the only one I lost, I mean Tylaw. After he
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: left here was the Jets Kansas City, Denver. He moved around, yeah,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: and led the league in interceptions. He's a good player. Yeah,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: oh yeah, a good player. I think he was older
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: than thirty two. Yeah, you know, cornerback. So now, so
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: that's a guy Paul would like to keep a star. Yes,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: if he's a star and he's in his thirties, yeah,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: like Tom Brady. Yeah, Devin mccordy, I would account of

- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Sar Jason's note, I'm not allowed to say that just yet,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: alex But yeah, find out tomorrow on Patriots dot com.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Um let's see, uh, Thomas and san Diego says, Alexandra
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: is awesome. I've been listening to the show, Alexandria, but
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: he said Alexandra, I've been listening to the show since
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I was in high school, back in oh five. Now
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: I'm in my thirties, I'm still listening. Is there any
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: chance Alexandre becomes a permanent addition to the show. There's
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: a chance. The shot you know well again Courtney coming
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: in Tuesdays. She seems to fit in so well and
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: adds to the conversation. Also, I hate to think about
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Fred and Paul ever leaving the show, but is there
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: a succession plan in place to keep the show rolling
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: even when you both decide to hang it up. Um,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: let's see, no one will ever replace you. But I
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: hope the show could continue and carry the same vibes
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: you've created all these years. We would hope that whoever
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: comes and brings their own vibes. Ryeah, I'm not gonna
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: lie when I'm gone, I'm probably not gonna care all
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: apart Alex. I wish you the best at it. I'll
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: be on my dad. Good luck. I will Washington. Um
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Brett di Giovanni, right son, he says, So I like
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: to help Fred out. Um, he's having an issue updating
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Wikipedia for the podcast because he has to cite a source.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Perhaps Fred could see mister Craft. Surely Robert has a
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: head of media for New England Patriots Organization. Perhaps Robert
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: could have that head of media prints something on the
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: team's website. Tried that about having the longest running streaming
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: radio show podcast. Then Fred would be able to cite
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: his source. Love you guys, Douce. You can say plus
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: as much as you like, brother, that's funny. I like that. Uh,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: maybe you should do like a like he isn't a
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: funny with team places do fake press releases or like
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: they feel the need to do a press release like
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: you know for immediate release. Patriots Unfiltered now hiring Alexandra
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Francisco as Patriot unfilter the longest running you know, like
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: you could. I actually tried that, Like I think, I
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: SOI died PFW for something and maybe even the media
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: guide and the editors like you can't be you know,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: do that. But I do think, uh, and I know
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: we talked about it, and yeah I didn't that wasn't
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: if I'm diverging into, uh, into different territory, but I
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: do think there's a great if there was a way
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: with the with the QR codes and stuff, and we've
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: been using so much of that like restaurants with with
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: menus and stuff, and it's really come back. And I
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: know we talked about last year, but like, you know,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: getting a way for people just walking out of the
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: stadium after the game to be able to just cut
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: you know, point your phone at the scoreboard or a
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: little thing and be able to tune into the postgame
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: show or you know, even for this show too, Like,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: I don't know, there's just those things are popping up everywhere. Again,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: it seems like it's a easy direct way just to
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: get right into it. It's not a bad idea. Should
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: put you in some meetings about that. No, no, no
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: meaning snow meaning you know, we also a lot of me.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: You know, if you have the app um either the
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Game Day app or Patriots dot com, we'll send you
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: a notification that the pro postgame shows starting now, starting
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: live right after Yeah, yeah, and will we try to
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: make a wiki wiki page for Brian Lowe. That didn't work?
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: That work well, I think somebody wrote something that was
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: not nice, nasty. Yeah, he was upset, Brian. I can't
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: blame him. No, I would have been too. Yeah. I'm
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: not the brightest guy in the world. Anytime you bring
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: him up, I just go right back to my fan
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: days of tuning into the Patriots training can't report in
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: July and brilliant low like tuning in. I was a fan.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: I would have fan. I would watch all that stuff,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: hot dogs and sausages. What. Well. I was at a
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: dinner the other night and this guy that was at
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: the tables like yeah, I remember. I've been a fan
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: for a long time. Remember Brian Lowe and that cheerleader
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: used to have and I couldn't remember her name. It's
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: like Laurie Baranski and I'm like, that's right, that's right.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I was like, he knew everything. Christina Acro was one.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Christina was. I mean, I think of these as external
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: people are like not people. Christina was like Tamara now yeah,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: uh huh. Christina was very good before she went to
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: the Washington Nationals. Afterwards, I think she wished she worked.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Now I thought she was a college foot. She's bigger
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: than that. Yeah, yeah, she was. Riten Lindsay Patrony went
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: to the Bears. I think I think she did. Yeah,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I know them. Yeah, oh yeah, I'm still here. Jake
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: in Bedford, mass My girlfriend was one of Alex's roommates
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: during their freshman year at Lowell. I got the scouting
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: report from my girlfriend that she knows a lot of
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: basketball and was pleasantly surprised about the quality of Celtics
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: analysis on Tuesday's show. Great addition, I would love to
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: see the basketball skills of all the PEU crew members,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Fred versus Paul one on one who wins. I do, okay,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: if your roommate was Ashley or Stilla, please tell them,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: I said, Hi, okay at Lowell? What was Lowell? You
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Mass Lowell? I did my first year school there. Oh,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I didn't know that I was a river Hawk. For
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: a minute, I thought I need to get out of
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Western mass you know. And I was like, oh, so
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: it was by design? Started your Mass Lowell and then
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: transferred to Amherspeaker. I always wanted to go to Amherst,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: but then my high school ex boyfriend decided to go
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: there and I would see him around. Did you ever
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: see him once? Yes? It was so awkward every time too.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: This is what I love, like the drama one time.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: This is what I feed. You're in the gym once
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: and in a long hallway by ourselves, just walking towards
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: each other, no one else, and I gave the little
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: wave and the head nod, and he just had tunnel
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: visions shared right through me. And we're glad you moved
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: on from That's what happened to me and Belichi were
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: going up to the press box during training again, the
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: longest colus block of my life. Nothing all right, hey, Bill? Yeah?
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Just like that. It was just like that. Hey you
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: yeah good if you're still working here, let's get back
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: to the phone's ace ticket out line eight five five
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: pats five hundred. We'll go to Sean and Vancouver first.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: What's up Sean? Hi? Everyone, welcome, alec Hey. I want
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: to talk about the for It's a really excellent show,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: not a documentary. It's dramatized. It's so well done. They
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: really capture the time period. And it's all on Amazon
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: now or not on I mean a paramount plus I
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: just get it to Amazon. But it's the tenth episode.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: It just came out today, so you can binge the
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: whole thing at once. And it's parallels the movie The
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: God part of the actual show does in such a
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: cool way. So this is about the making of those movies. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: it's making of the God Part. Mixed reviews. Yeah, strong
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: recommendation from Sean, not so much from from others. Matt,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: why didn't you like it? Matt didn't like. If you
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: like the Godbody, you should really watch it. Okay, all
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: sounds good Amazon, Thanks Sean. Why didn't you like it? Matt?
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: The acting was terrible and just the whole the writing,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: the storyline to it, it's weird. They're trying to do
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: the intro to the Godfather book and make it a
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: TV show. You mean Mario Puzzo's book, Brett, I was
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Fred humble Bragg that he knew of the offer. I
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: mean Mario Puzzo, I, like a lot of people. I
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: read you're well read. Yes, you are all right cultured man.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Did you read the Gulf Other? No, that I didn't read.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: The intro is like Puzzo and Capolo talking and how
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: they got together to direct the movie. Yeah, basically what
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: the show is. It's kind of a show within a show.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Uh yeah, one of those. I can't comment because I
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: didn't see it. Uh. Eldred is in North Carolina, and
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna start calling you nasty, Eldred, because you're nasty
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: on Twitter. Nat. Yeah on Twitter, you're nasty on Twitter.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: You're a nasty guy on Twitter. I'm on I hear
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: what you say. I see what your is parody account? Yeah?
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Are you being active? He always hides me. I don't.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I still don't know if that's not already account. He's
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: ripping Fred on it. That's but if you're gonna make
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: a burner, it's kind of wise. To just be like, yeah,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: that's that's not me. That's not me. Kevin Durant wishes
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: he came to you. Okay, so someone is posing as you?
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: All right, yeah, somebody posed me. We gotta get called
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: fred An. We went at it. But I know the guy.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: You don't know the guy, but he know me. He
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: told the guy, you're a fake eld but we know
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: the real. Okay, so it's a fake Eldred's so you
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: gotta get a blue check mark. We gotta get Well,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: it just doesn't match up because Eldred is always just
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: so nice and it's just to something missing, right, No, no, no,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: but you know, but you're always cordial and you got
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: good conversations. You're not like that. Yep. Yeah, but we
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: donna call it from that guy they called in earlier
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: about the talent thing. You know, it ain't that, Okay.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: I told you when Brady left, it's gonna be three
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: to five years, maybe maybe six the longer when we
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: get promitted again. It always happened when a quarterback leaves,
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: not a coach, a great quarterback. And I gave y'all
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: example Dallas, Uh, now gonna be New England, Washington, Buffalo,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: until you kind of get another quarterback of this quarterback
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: you go back. Yeah. Sure, it's always been that way.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: But the problem we haven't I know, it's a rebuild.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I said that in the beginning. It's gonna be a rebuild.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Y'all keep saying I'll gonna be problem to keep going
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: to the playoffs. I can't see that, you know, But
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: that's not saying that last year was an outlier. But no,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: that's that's last year. But it's, like I said, it's
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: the talent evaluation that we're looking at for. You had
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: a chance to get some corners, you got a spinner
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: or guard. You had a chance to get somebody else,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: but you got another wide receipt that was there. You know,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: like everybody, how can you be mad that they drafted
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: a wide receiver. You love those guys. You love wide receivers.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: The drafted a fast guy like this that was your
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: like dream. I like that. I like, like I said
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: what you called, I do like wide receivers, bass with speed.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: But you got the wrong one and someone was still
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: down that we could have got that guy from North Colinas,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: the North Kalkota state, he was there. That guy from Georgia,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: he was there, you know, But but like I said,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: you got somebody else, mckid, the guy from Alabama. Some
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: might say that you're tough to please. I want fast
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: wide receivers. We drafted the fast wide receiver, not the
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: right one. That's tough. That's tough. I know, I'm just
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: I'm just kidding with you. You get your kneed, you
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: get your knee. You need a guard to enough, but
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: you need corners, batter batter And two of the guys
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: was there booth McCleary, the guys, the Kansas City guy
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: and another good guy. But you didn't get one. You know.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: That's what we have a little problem. It's the talent
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: and the and the real the real of the realization
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: is Bill don't pay people with that kind of with
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: the cold positions like wide receivers. He's not gonna pay
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: him if you produce get rid of me. And he'd
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: been doing it for a year. You don't, you know,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: you don't what you guy, you don't pay you if
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: the markets say eighty six million, he's not gonna pay
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: for a wide receiver. He's not gonna pay that for
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: a good, good corner. I would just like to be
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: in a situation after four years. Was one of these
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: guys that they're on the in the market for eighty
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: six million and we have to make a decision because
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I don't even remember the last wide receiver we had
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: to make a decision on. Well Branch they let go
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: got rid of oh six, Yeah, but he produced, but
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: you got rid of him and Moss, like said, Mosse
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: was another. But I'm talking about a young receiver who's
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: gonna hit free agency in his prime and it's gonna be,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: you know, in line for heavies. They haven't developed a
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: lot of I mean, look at these guys, not like
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Deebo and Terry McLaurin. These guys are all a J. Brown.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: They're all looking for big contracts. Right. I'd love it
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: if we had a guy that was looking for a
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: big contract, right, Yeah, know what I'm talking about, said,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: we don't have them, guy, We have them guy. Ye.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: So you know Mitchell Mightter would have been if he
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: held out, you know, and Mitchell I would have paid
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: for because I said he produced. Lea gave out. Yeah.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: But you know, I don't have no problem with coach Field.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: I have probably gel and I've been saying it for
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: you yeah, a lot of people agree. Thanks Eldred. Good
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: to know that that's not actually Eldred. Yeah, I thought
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: that was his, um, his burner account donner account with
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: your name on. It's brilliant. Yeah, it's come up before,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: and I feel like we asked what every think. I
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: wonder where they got the photo from. It really is
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: a man in a truck. It's probably off of one
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: of those Yeah, if you google man, that's probably the
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: first picture. Carolina Fan Club. Pretty sure it's from his
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Twitter account. Oh yeah, we got the Adam Shifter guy
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: that always uh yeah tweets. He's funny too. It's it's
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: it's a cottage industry. Travis is in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Hey Travis, Hey, sorry guys, I'm missed the first part
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: of the show. But did you'll talk about being in
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Harris today? No, a little bit, but probably not in
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: the vein you're going to talk about him, all right? Um,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: So I got a question. The last few months or
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: even a year, we talked about Patriots, how the Patriots
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: don't have draft players who developed it through the draft,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: but now we have one of Damon Harris. And at
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: the end of the show on Tuesday, you guys were
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: talking about maybe he gond be traded, but why wouldn't
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: we just keep him? He's been productive. It's the position
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: I think, Well, it comes down to that second contract.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Are they you know, are they going to be willing
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: to pay him starting running back contract when now you
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: have Romond Jerry Stevenson you know so strong? Kevin? Yeah,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: do you do you want to spend you want to
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: spend your money at that position? Is the question. And
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I'm not saying they won't. I don't know if they
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: will or they won't, but I mean generally running backs
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: on their second contract, their production dips. Yeah, and they
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: drafted two more guys this year. It's just I mean,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: given how they've done it, and with this position, that's
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: that's why I would say, at best, he's probably here
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: another year and then and then he probably probably walks.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: But I agree with the general sentiment though that they
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: don't have enough young positive leaders in that locker room
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: like him, And for that reason, I think it's it's
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: disappointing tied a little bit to JC Jackson, the same
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: kind of thing, maybe not the same kind of guy
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: off the field, but still a young player that you
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: developed internally that went elsewhere and is now playing in
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: his prime for another team. And the other part of
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: that is Kevin Harris would have to show promise in
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: camp for you to feel comfortable, because Stevenson to astar
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: with Michelle. Exactly. If you can't be comfortable with Stevenson
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Kevin Harris as your tandem, then you can't trade Damien
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: Harris because you need I mean, Bill never wants to
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: be in a situation where he has one guy. He's
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: always had, you know, a committee of five guys, right
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: even within games. You need to give guys a break, right,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you know. So I think if Kevin Harris shows some promise,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: that's when some of these conversations might pick up steam. Otherwise,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: I think Damian Harris will be here with Stevenson. I
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: like that combination. We've talked about that um and and
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: I like Mike's point, like, sometimes when you draft a
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: guy and he I mean, he hasn't been a home
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: runner or anything, but he's been a solid contributor. And
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: sometimes when you draft those guys and you develop them,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you should keep them. I think it sends a good
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: message within your locker room that there's something to play
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: for Yeah, thanks Travis, Um Williams and fellam. What's up William?
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: What's going on? Hey? How you know what? Um? I
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: want to want to give you bank off LB two.
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: I don't miss let me put it just like that.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: I like, I don't have a problem with Bill as
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: the coach either, but the GM when he when he
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: called things it up and called that's the point I
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: will never miss Solly Knight, but I ain't gonna miss
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: that about him, you know. I know that's your bull
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: at all, but uh, dude, I don't disagree with you
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: man what I mean, like it hasn't been good enough
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: the last few years. There's no there's not really any
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: debate for me on that one. So all right, so
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: my question is for all of you, and really, I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: guess you could say Paul though maybe YouTube might, but um,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: I got to see it. I'm thinking that the perfect
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Patriot basically falls while I receiver though, because right now
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: all we guys are a bunch of twos and threes
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: or four And do y'all agree with that? Yeah? Yes, Okay,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: what do you think of Terry mcclaugh, Jerry McLaurin. He's outstanding,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: You're gonna pay him one hundred million. Well, I mean
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: at some point the page. And don't you think the
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: pature is going to have to pay a receiver to
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: grow with mac? You know what I mean? Yeah, I would,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: But that's what I mean, that's what you're you're talking about. Yeah, right,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: right right, Like, I don't know why he would want
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: to get traded from Washington to you without a contract.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you just play for Washington. I think next
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: year they might pay a receiver that big money. I
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: think they might. I think the league is changing, and
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: I think that position it commands it. Oh, I agree,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: I just don't think you'll pay it. Yeah. Yeah, if
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: they believe in him, why are you sitting there messing America.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: He's been producted. He passing a thousand yards the problem.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: I don't have an argument for that. I love Terry McLaurin,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: love him, and from everything I've read about him in
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: the locker room and all this, Like, I know people
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: look at it and say, well, he's holding out. How
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: good of a leader can he be? What kind of
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: an example is that? That's like, that's not the same
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: thing to me, Like being a leader isn't necessarily ignoring
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: your contract, right. You know, I think he plays the
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: game the right way. I think he's largely considered one
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: of the few things that that franchise has going for it. Right.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Nobody's gonna pay him when he blows his knee out,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: So you've gotta make as much money as you can
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: when you can make it. Thank thanks, William, appreciate the call. Um.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Let's see. Keenan writes in and He's from South Carolina.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: He says, maybe a little bit different than most of
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: your listeners. I started listening to Patriots Unfiltered and I
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: was twelve. I'm now thirty. I'm proud to say that
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: I grew up. Yeah, sorry about that. I'm proud to
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: say that I grew up listening to you guys. I
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: remember scheduling my high school computer lab class at noon
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: to make sure I could listen to the show in school.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: I also have a vivid memory of listening to Patriots
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Unfiltered on the family computer when I was young. You
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: learn some words from friends. There was a time where
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Andy made a comment about Kate Upton's boobs and my
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: mom yelled, what are you listening to? Across the house.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: I appreciate the show so much and the memories I
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: have of it. It will forever be a big part
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: of my life. I love the addition of Mike and Alexandria.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: She sounds great so far. I'm looking forward to what
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: the future holds for PU. There you go very positive?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Do you get nothing to say? Why are you so
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: quiet today? I don't know. I don't know how to
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: handle all these names come out of you. Used to comments, Oh, though,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: who gives you mean? Come? Oh? You'll get random Twitter people.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: Oh you can't go, won't buy what you see my Twitter?
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Look at my ego? I don't that is true. She's
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: she's she's quite an ego. She has no problem there.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: I told her that she was better than somebody else
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: in the industry. She said, oh, I know. She like
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: my favorite. She even has her own stratosphere. She says,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: oh yeah, she does in this market for five years.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: It's hard to write and be a reporter in this market.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: And you're doing it. You're doing it. I've been doing it.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: I've been I've been doing this grinding. Now you just
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: gotta word about the patriots. You could have been like Mike,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: you just you know, started a blog in your basement. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: come up with a T shirt. You know that Mike
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: is somehow get friended? How are you you know that
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Mike is the guy to hear this story. Mike is
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: the guy that came up with the twenty eight three
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: T shirt. You know the hoodies? Really Yeah, it wasn't important. No,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: In fact, I got I sold at the party. Now
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I gotta did you get a license? Did you license
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: it to personal? Yeah? And he got a season desist.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I got season assisted first by the NFL. No, that
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: was but that's why that design worked because they couldn't
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: touch it, you know right, there was no logos in
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: it or anything. That's how I moved back. Yeah. He
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: was a startup and he you know he sold out. Yeah, no, no,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: do it as a hobby in my my mom's basement.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: I finally I found a girl, an exit strategy. It
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: all worked out. This is my singing until you did,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: until you disrespectfully. That was real quick though. On that
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: my son had just been born, who was two thousand
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: and eight. Brady just tore his acl and I was
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: like running to the gym in the morning and the
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: real poison song came on and I just started here
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: and I Won't forget you, Brady, and I couldn't stop laughing,
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: and I'm like, I gotta, I gotta do it. I
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: gotta get into I gotta get into the studio. I
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: called my friend. I'm like, dude, come over, you gotta
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: shoot me. So I did the whole like music video
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: of you know It's all me, in like three different
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: outfits of where do I find us? On the YouTube?
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: It's available to I won't forget you, Brady, and come
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: out there viral. We're gonna get you viral now. No,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: the first time it came up on this show though
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: that it kind of got re you know, resent around
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: a little bit. There's a lot of things about Duce
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: that we've learned over time. Like he's like the what
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: do you the great nephew of Ted Williams or something
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, my grandfather was fishing buddies with Ted Williams. Okay,
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: great nephew, great nephew. Um, yeah, I get some some weird,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: little quirky kind of stories. Granted, his grandfather was like
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: the Dosau of Tufts. Yeah, they named the field after
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: at the track. He was the coach at Toughs from
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: nineteen thirty to nineteen seventy one when he died. Yes, yeah,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: that's a little bit about me. Yeah, the big d
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: I love that one. He's like you ever see the movie, Um,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: I know everyone seen Zella, I mean, m Forrest Gump,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: but you ever seen Zelig the movie with Woody Allen?
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: It's um, it's a I hate Woody Allen now, but
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: it's a good movie. Um, where he plays his character
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: who shows up like in all these famous places like
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Forrest Gump. Yeah, but he just blends out everybody's But
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: unlike Forrest Gump, Forrest Gump is like himself and obvious
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: thing like Zeleg like blends in. It becomes like you know,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: and it's an interesting movie. Yeah. And that's kind of
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: like you talked about being there too, right, that being
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: there is with um what's his name? Yeah, the guy
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: who played Pink Panther Detective Clue Peter Sellers. You never
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: saw that, dude, I saw that. Oh yeah, yeah, interesting movie.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean when the show gets fine out.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Doctor Strangelove is one of my all time YEA favorite movies.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: Oh sure, yeah, favorite classic movie. Love it. Oh sure.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: It's no fighting in the war room. Do you see
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: a lot of movies, Allen, I love movies. There's a
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: film miner too. Oh really, so did you see being there?
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: I did not, because I would think that they want
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: people to see that in film Hallash. Sure. I mean
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: that's when I we watched The Departed on like my
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: first I love the Depot and I was like, this
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: is Fern average. Oh I love The Departed average and
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: it's out of quas But did you talk about the
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: original that was based on like the Korean movie that
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: seems like a film school thing to do. Was it basically? Ah,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: they didn't get to that in the U mass little film. Yeah,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: it was us, yeah, players, Yeah, it was based on
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: I think I guess South Korean? North Korean? North Korean?
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: Did they dude? I wasn't there the impression that it
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: was written based on Whitey Bulger like it was? It
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: was ok? Yeah, they took they took like this, um,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: this South Korean movie, I think, um. But yeah there
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: was that, you know. It was the guy guys on
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: both sides of it, and then they put it into
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: the Boston to make it The Departed but masterpiece. Yeah,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: I thought it was good. Was it one best picture? Yeah?
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Infernal affairs. It's called there you go, Thank you, Mattfernal affairs,
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: internal affairs, infernal, alright, infernal infernal. Um see, Chris, you
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: really thought that the party was great? I did, that
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: was all right. I mean I liked it, but I
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: thought it was just all right. You loved it, Huh?
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I did. I was thoroughly entertained throughout. I was too.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: It's one of my favorite movies. The only thing that
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: worried me is the people in front of me had
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: like a six year old kid at the movie. Jesus, like,
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: what are you doing? What are you doing? Is it
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Will Perillo? I thought Mark Mark Wahlberger was great in
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: that you know that character. Yeah, and then when he
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: comes back at the end, you're like, you know, I
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: mean Matt Damon's great at driving the nuts too, Like
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: I mean, he just did like school Ties in that movie,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: drives you crazy, like you just want to strangle him
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: and murder. I did, like great at that. I did
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: like school Ties. Yeah. Yeah. But and Leo of course
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: great acting. Alec Baldwin underrated uh Lyne in there too.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: I'm the guy that's doing his job. Maybe maybe you know,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: you know, you know the part I'm talking about, uh,
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Chris writes in from Colfax, California. First off, count me
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: as one that really likes Alex and her fitting the show.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: She messed with the group immediately better than anyone not
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: named Mike. Next, I know, the not formally trained artist
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: is gone. But can you guys paint me a scenario
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: in which the Patriots go four and thirteen and you
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: guys are optimistic about the team moving forward. Mac must
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: be healthy for seventeen games though, oh no, I mean
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: everything falls apart around I'm sorry, if they go four
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: and thirteen. There's not many things that could have happened
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: to lead me to be optimistic. But unless they're all
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: like that bottoming out, everybody's hurt and they're all like
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: one point losses that Max somehow kept them in miraculously.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, I mean, every you really talk
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: yourself into pretzels like Mike that, but four every week
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: is a one point loss and the defense is on
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: the field. Last Yeah, you know, yeah, but I mean
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: you're talking losses to the ye. But you'd also have
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: to say, like, you know, they alternated losing like thirty
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: eight thirty five with seventeen sixteen because one of those things,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: you're going to be like, well, the defense is terrible,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: there's no hope for the future, or the offense just
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: can't score, there's no hope for the future. Yeah, Like
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: it's hard to go four and thirteen and feel good
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: about I think the question, the more realistic question I'm
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: finding myself asking, is there is there a seven eight
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: win season that you feel better about and you felt
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: last year. Yes, now you do some of that stuff
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: because they finished strong, Like, you have a pretty good offense,
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Mac has significant progression in year two and you win
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: seven or eight games. You can talk yourself into we
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: just kind of shore up couple spots on the defense,
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: a couple of tweaks here and there. Max's gonna get
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: even better and we're ready to go. Baby. I can
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: make that argument. Yeah, and four four wins supposed to eight.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: That's a big difference, because then you got you're losing
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: to the Dolphins, you're losing to the Jets. The line,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: it would have to be an incredible rash of injuries
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: for you to say, Okay, it's not all is lost.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: They just had it. But then you don't know they
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: had but they had a lot of bad luck. Yeah,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: you could just say like they were competitive with a
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: bank up roster, they just couldn't win the games because
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: he didn't have enough. I just want to back next
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: year thinking that there are guys that have emerged this year,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: not I don't want to go into next offseason going, well,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: we got a ton to cap space and we can
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: do what they did in twenty twenty one and signed
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: like seven eight starters again. Like I don't want to
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: have to do that again. I want to I want
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: to just roll it over with guys that you keep
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: and maybe extend, you know, maybe try to retain guys
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: like this year, you see wow player as josh u Ja,
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: we want him around, Let's extend him, you know, put
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: the money towards that, and certainly you can fill in
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: some holes next year in free agency. And I like
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: that that is coming down the pipe pike again, that
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: they're going to have free space to work with a
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: little bit and have some money to work with again
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: next year. But I hope that, like kind of Paul
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: hinted at, like it's strategic. Wow, if we could just
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: get one one really good cornerback, you know, to compliment
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: whoever Sean Wade. You know, whatever, however it works out,
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: instead of like we gotta redo it all again, what
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: would disappoint you more they don't make the playoffs or
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Christian Barmore regresses. Christian Barmore, Yeah, I think so, because
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: that's one of the only guys that you have that
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: you really feel like, maybe some start could be a
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: core guy. But I also wonder after watching mini camp,
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: how much of a role is he really gonna have.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Is he gonna be just a pass rusher on passing
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: downs or is he going to be first snap of
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: the game he's out there causing mayhem. I think I
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: really think it's up to him, you know, or is
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: it gonna be gotcha in the middle Lawrence guy and
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: Dietrich Wise and that, you know, hard to get excited.
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: Barmoor isn't one of your key defensive players. And build
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: the GM's having trouble. I think he recognizes Barmore paying
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: the build a coach is having trouble. Yeah, well, whoever
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: making the personnel decisions is having trouble. I just don't
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: want to see him as third and long all right
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: here he comes now like he needs to be a
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: foundational piece of the defense that plays a lot, and
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: you know, I think it feeds into just he's disrupted.
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: If you talk about guys that can't stop the run,
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: it's fine, but he can get up field, you know.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: I think he can cause problems on un early downs
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: just as well as he can when it's just pure
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: pass rush. So I'm just hopeful his role expands and
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: we see him as a real cog and not just
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: a rotational piece, because I'm I think a lot of
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: the defense is going to be rotational pieces this year.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: It's gonna be Jennings Bentley when it's passed, when it's
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: running downs, and then it's gonna be Oocha Perkins, you
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: know those guys when it's when it's passing downs, and
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: you know you'll have wholesale changes. Christian is from Austria,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: he says on Tuesday, somebody wrote in about Sunday in
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Germany being quiet. I'm from Austria and we have basically
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: the same rule here. Everybody besides restaurants and gas stations
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: is closed on Sundays. You're not supposed to do anything
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: that would be considered of disturbance to your neighbors, So
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: no construction, mowing, the lawn. Basically, don't start any loud machinery.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: You can have a party, but keep the music down.
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: Of course, that all depends on your neighbors. Also, Fred,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: it still belongs to Austrians, not Germany, so get your
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: stereotypes straight. That's a good point. That's interesting. I mean,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: it's not anything to consider what it used to be
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: that way. And in America, you know, everything was closed
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: on Sunday and in Masks, you know, we were one
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: of the holdouts. We had the Blue Laws on Sunday.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Now everything's open. But like, yeah, when I was a kid,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: that was still Blue laws. Yeah, you couldn't open up,
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: and then they change it. You could open up at noon,
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: and then now everything's just opened up. The hardware stores
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: open at seven thirty for crying out loud. So I
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: know because I go there, and when you had to
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: go to the hands, I had to do my yardwork. Yeah,
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah you have to go to pass He's
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: had to go to the Hampshire for the packy. Yeah.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: But but now it's like like Tragger shows, if it's
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: like before ten am, they just put like a thing
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: in front of like you're not allowed to buy alcohol
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: before ten am now, but you can as soon as
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: it is now saying now you can get it. Yeah,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: but there's got to be something to this. Like they
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: play soccer and like they have matches and on Sunday,
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Saturday morning. It's Saturday. I know Premier League is all
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: Saturday Premier It just seems like something that could like
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: would have come up. Maybe if you're gonna go the
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: NFL is gonna go to Germany and then like, oh,
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: by the way, I know loud noises on game Brady
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: can't play on Sundays? Has this been worked out yet?
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: They're like, go by the way, like it's the Sabbath,
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: we don't do anything in that day. Like, yeah, I
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: didn't have any idea that that existed. Bro Um, We'll
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: break a mother. So you didn't think The Town was
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: better than The Departed. I thought they were both good. Yeah,
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I liked I enjoyed both movies. I did enjoy both,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: but I liked to Depart it better. And a lot
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: of it was because I just I really people I
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: think I've ever met there. I think I think if
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: I had to choose between the two, I choose The Departed. Wow. Yeah,
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: I love the town. I would too. I hated John Hamm.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: I hated John Hamm in that movie. I just thought
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: he was John. I do hate John Hamm except for weekends,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: says Madman. But well because he had this local But
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: I say, just like I said, Matt Damon was so
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: hateable and the Departed what's his face? Hawkeye was so
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: hate herbal and uh yeah, the brother with Jeremy Jeremy Renner. Yeah,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: he was so good. He's so with the accent and
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: just doing the Boston dirt bag kind of perfectly leave
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: well enough alone, you know, beneflet just wants to get away.
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: He just embodied it. You she said, you called me
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: in Florida. It's I mean you, I mean you. You
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: grew up around Paul Like It's it's hard to really
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: capture the Boston towny. I wasn't funk, no, no, no,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: just because I grew up in the city. But you know,
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: a Boston towny, I do dirt bag character kind of
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: a guy, and it's hard to really nail it. What's
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: the Amy Ryan? Amy Ryan in in that other Boston
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: movie with the kid Disappears, Baby Gone. She was standing
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: mendous another movie that was far better than Meanwhile, you
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: like City on a Hill, Paul, Right, Yeah, I love that,
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: but it's a little like Hackey. Yeah, you know it's cliched. Yeah,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: but you know it's I mean, I like it. It's Boston.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: But then there's Blake Lively in the town, who I
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: was like, Nope, no you're not You're not a bust
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: and towny girl. What was she talking a little bit
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: A little bit? Yeah, yeah, no, I love the town.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: That was good movie. No, I agree with you guys.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: I think was not really good and that that whole
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: like sort of offshoot there was not great. But the
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: movie it's I mean, oh it's good. I mean I enjoyed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um.
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: I just love the part where at the end when
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: he goes into the flower shop and just something that guy. Yeah,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: I was like when that happened, did not see that
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: coming at all? Really, you're an old man with a
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: face twist. Um, let's see um. Jake from Ben Digo
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: uh and thanks to Brad from Adelaide for getting the
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: pronunciation correct for me last week. The advice for flag
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: worked out? Did we oh we didn't play Troy Brown's
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: team and one so many things for that that was
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: my don't play. Troy Brown's team championship game is tonight,
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: so fingers crossed, we can take it to the Superum
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: Tall and Athletics seed one team. Okay, random question? Do
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: any of you lot have any Patriots Championship tattoos? I
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: know you've got rings, but wasn't sure if you were
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: taking it to the grave. I do not have a tattoo.
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: I do not have a tattoo. You don't have a tattoo.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Pol not a tat guy. No no. I almost lost
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: a bet where I would have had to get TB
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: twelve on my ring finger. But no tattoos. No, none, none,
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: no tattoos. I'm surprised the kids like tattoos. Just what
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: Fred just said. I think the kids nowadays are very
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: big on tattoos. That's too indecisive. I would get sick
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: of it and be like why did I get that?
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: And yeah, I watched too many of my friends in
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: high school get tattoos that I was like, Oh my god,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: they're gonna regret that next year. Never mind it in
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: twenty that's my brother to get the thorns around the arm. No, no, no,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: did a typo in their tattoo? Oh? Purposely yeah, no, no, no,
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: oh no, it's like a commercial no regrets, no regrets,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: kind of like that. It was a wrong apostrophe in
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: a your Oh wow, the griefs possessive, you know, tattoo
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: artist didn't quite. Eric would have been so mad. Screw
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: of caramel on a tattoo. Imagine though, Eric gets a
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: tattoo and it was he has a tattoo. He's got
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: a tattoo. Well, I know, but if and it was misspelled,
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: oh oh, lawsuits, Oh yeah, lawsuits, travisy. Are we running here?
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: This tattoo polar and they got the apostrophe of the brooms.
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: He has no formal artistic training, So no tattoos for Alexandra. No, noah, okay, alright,
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: almost any plans no unless like I don't even I
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: don't know, maybe like if someone died in my family
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: and that would be the only but that would be
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: the only thing for me, is of something that would deeply,
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: deeply meaning going through our department, does anyone in our
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: department have a tattoo? Um? Oh this guy here, four
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: of them more else got fresh ink. Yeah, he came
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: in yetbody had reaction to it after we got yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: Canoe's got it, got one, I think, like on her finger. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: yeah she does. For Era, it's got a big like
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: eagle on his chest. I don't know, chest piece. I
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: was just trying to imagine the person least likely to
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: have remember Jerry's uncle, Hello Jerry had the dream, or
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: he's in jail and he's got you know, murder, and
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: hello Jerry. Yeah. Now, I just never thought of something
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: like enough. Yeah, kind of state too. When my brother
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: got caught with his, he got in so much trouble
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: that it just completely scared it out of me, So
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: I never even thought about, Oh he got in trouble
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: for it. Oh yeah, he was like sixteen, yeah, said
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: maybe seventeen when he got it, and my father like
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: freaked the f out like you wouldn't believe, get it off, like,
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: you know, like two hours later he was still saying
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: I wanted off, and my brother's like no, Dad, seriously,
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: doesn't come off. He's like over there with sandpaper. And
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: that just scared it out of me. And then you know,
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: I got older and I'm kind of like Alex, like
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: it would have to be something like I, you know,
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: no longer am I going to get something stupid like that,
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: it would have to be something with deep personal just
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: a family member. But you know, I don't think that
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: that wall. But I don't think I have the stomach
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: for it. I don't think I could sit through the pain. Really, Yeah,
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: mister marine in there, Yeah, it doesn't hush. Rob. My
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: sister her tattoo from my dad for like almost two years. Yeah,
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: it was a while before my brother got caught. So
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: he got it like fourteen. No, I mean I'm probably
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: missing I'm probably messing up the years he probably got it.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: It was a stupid Yosemite sam on his leg. It
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: was like stupid, he'll you should My brother like goes
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: off on a tangent to rip himself. It's like the
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: funniest thing. It's more on. Then he fell asleep on
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: the couch once and he had like he had his
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: shorts on, like the boots were hanging out the bottom,
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: and my father was like, what's that And my brother's
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: like groggy, half a stay, it's like dirt. It was
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: like pulling the shorts down. I'll help broke loose that day.
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: That was another growing up Parillo. Okay, Rich got a
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: beaten from from out from Everest, From Everett to Everest,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: the Paul Parillo story. I should be in there, yo, somebody,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: sam h see what do we got? Jason writes in
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: First and Foremost, I love Matt Jones and truly believe
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: he could be our future. However, I also read that
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: I also feel like Patriot's Nation was so devastated by
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: Brady's depacha that we were quick to crown him as
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: the next guy. This season will tell the tale. But
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: how secure are you with Mac as the face of
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: the franchise long term? Not? I mean not, I don't.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think it's set in stone that
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: he's the starter here into a second contract. I think
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: he's got to earn it. But I like everything he's doing,
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: and I think he has promised UM. But I don't agree.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: I don't. I mean, I'm not penciling him in for
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: the next decade. I think he has a lot of
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: what it takes. But the point I always go back
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: to is just that it's really hard. There's a lot
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: of really talented teams, especially in the AFC and in
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: the AFC East, and he's going to have to be special.
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: Is he good enough? That's I mean, we just we
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: haven't seen enough. We don't know. I think everything Mike
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: said act and he does everything you want like that,
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: and I think that that counts a lot. That counts
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: a lot for just his his the way he's brought
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: the guys together, the way he's been a leader, the
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: way he looked on the field over Mini camp. Plus
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: I haven't worked enough pluses and I gotta get more
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: pluses in um he. I think he just does everything
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: you want and so it's hard to ask for more.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: But again it's like that doesn't mean he's special. You know,
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: you can work hard and do and say all the
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: right things in life, but that doesn't mean you're going
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: to be able to perform right down to make those
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: key plays and those you know, those throws that we
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: saw Tom Brady make time after time after time in
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: the playoffs when it was all on the line, and
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: every single one of those Super Bowls, you knew he
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: was going to bring something. And who's the worst player.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: If he's as good as that person, you'll be Okay.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: A lot of people say, Eli Mannitt, if the only
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: one's two super Bowls, that's not enough. I need three.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: If he's as good as Eli Manning. Yeah, I'll take that. Yeah,
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: I would take it, but you know, you got to
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: take everything that comes with it, which is he'd be
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: maddening a lot. It could be a lot, not gonna
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: be driving your nuts, and then all of a sudden,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: hulk it all lined up in a couple of playoff
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: runs and he just couldn't do any wrong and they
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: knocked off a bunch of teams that might be a
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: little bit better than I'm on paper, you know, but
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: there's a lot of moments with Eli Manning where people
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: will pulling their hair out, wondering if he's the guy,
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: even and you know, even outside of those Super Bowls,
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: I think there was there was, you know, plenty of
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: discussion around him, and I hope not to deal with that.
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: But yep, Jack writes in sixty seven percent of all
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: people who get a tattoo later regret having gotten the tattoo.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: I don't know where he gets that number from, but yeah,
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: it's such an arbitrary perfectly two thirds do regret it. Yes, okay,
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: put him sixty seven percent. That was a survey of
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: people on Ventura Beach, No One, but he would be
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: in the regret category. My wife, My wife. My wife's
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: got a couple. She's got a dolphin on her back
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: that she got when she was in Hawaii as a kid,
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: and then after kids she got like two birds on
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: her legs that My wife has a couple ries on
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: her ankle because kurse is cherry German. And then she's
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: got every time we lose a dog, she puts their
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: paw on her she gets so she's got two so far. Yeah,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: that's cool but small. I think a lot of people
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: have tattoos. Yeah. The cherry was that like your show,
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: an outlier family, just like that little there's a bowl
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: of pots. Yeah yeah. And then the ironic thing is
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: I'm allergic to cherry? Yeah, pitted fruit. Yeah I kind
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: of am too. Yeah, we got makes my mouth kind
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: of itchy, for your mouth gets itchy. We got one.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: I wonder if that's the fruit or if it's the pesticides.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: It could be because when growing up I could eat
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: cherries by the bushel, and then it was it was
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: that up before they started put it was at Brian College,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: a training camp. We used to be able to eat
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: with the team in the cafeteria back then, and you know,
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: you'd load up and I had a bowl of cherries
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: and we were sitting in that schoolroom that I worked in,
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, my mouth just starts swelling
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: up and I'm like, oh my god, I'm freaking out.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: And it was from the cherries. I've heard of that
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: with like pineapple. I know some people were reactions to
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: a lot of pineapple too, But we just got a
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: like something that you can just put the cherry in
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: and click the the seed. Oh yeah, I mean it
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: makes cherry eating so much better, just like it's really
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: that hard to just spit out the cherry. I mean
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: like I could see, like if there was a way
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: to like d sed watermelons all at once, that would
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: be good. They do. I know they have seedless water
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: they have, but they're not as much like all the
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: other inventions that came from the show. It's already existing watermelon.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: What do you think about this? Because you know, it's
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: good to have somebody new on the show because we
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: can rehash things. Yeah, because just in case we have
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: new listeners. Hey, there's summer reruns. But if you've never
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: seen them in what do you think of this invention? Alex?
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: It's a soap with a slot. So you have a
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: bar of soap, and when it comes out of the wrapper,
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: it's already got a slot in it. So when you
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: get down to the wafer. You know how you get
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: down to the wafer and you don't know what to
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: do with it. You open up the new bar and
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: you stick the wafer into the slot and you recycle it.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: So are you cyclic because it would just eventually get
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: back down to that wafer exactly, and then and then
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: the next bar you put it never have to your
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: soap efficiency will be so as long as you keep
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: you put the little soap tablet in the water, and
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: then you have the soapy water and you can just
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: use it. You dilute the alex is telling you you
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: need another bar of soap to put the little pieces
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: the difference, as long as you keep buying soap with
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: a slot, you'll always is it going to dissolve the
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: small little you No, it doesn't listen to me. No,
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: you're both wrong. No, you're always going to have a
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: wafer at the end, right, But but it'll probably be
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: that original wafer if it doesn't matter, but you put
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: it back in the next slot. So I'm giving you
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: a way to get rid of that wafer and then
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: you really waste nothing. So where do you put it?
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Get like a little you could literally like four rounds
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: thing of salad, dressing it out, dissolve your little wafer
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: in the little sudsy water, and then you can just
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: be like a lot of work, pour it on yourself,
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: a lot of work. So it is manufacturing story. Are
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: you are you bar soap or in the bottle um?
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: It depends on like I have to have a nice
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: like shelf in the shower. I can't just put like
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: a bar soap on. I don't know where your bath
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: you have a shelf in your bathroom right now? No? Okay,
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: stand up shower? So what do you do now? It's
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: a bottle? Bottle? Yeah, I see most young people like
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: the bottle. I like the bottle with a loofas can
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: I use. I use one of those like scrubber things,
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: and you know, because then you really get you really
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: like like the woman in Caddyshack, the old lady stretch mark.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's that's my that's my stock. I like
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: the bar. I do the body wash, not the bar
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: body wash to waste of money, body wash straight to
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: the hands straight to the hands. I have some yeah,
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: just portion control, yeah, time size, I know. But that's enough,
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: isn't it enough? I need more than water stretching, So
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: put in the washcloth or a Lufa like Mike, and
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: then you look Scully. That's the thing. If you use
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: a loofa or something like that, you don't even need
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: a lot. Little does a very long way. That's why
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: I don't use a Lufa. That's why Lufa it's really good. Yeah,
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: right man, m m m m yeah. But you're soap
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: with a slot. Man, it just it falls flat. I mean,
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: Alex blew it up in thirteen seconds, just like you're
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: supposed to. It's you recycle immediately. It's you know. I
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: do like though. What I like about Soap with the
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: slot is that it's an intriguing name because you're instantly like,
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: what's the slot for? Right? So then you're you know,
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: you're you're you're again interpreted some dirty ways exactly. So
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: st just what I've been looking for. Al from Florida says,
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: just watch Mike's video and I freaking love it. Very creative.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: But most impressive to me was his guitar skills as
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: a beginning guitarists. What advice would you give to learn
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: on the electric guitar? Oh, just find tabs some songs
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: you like and play. Do you play the guitar? Yeah? Oh,
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: Mike test a little bit everything. Another thing we just learned.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: We didn't just learn it. Yeah, I did a little bit, Matt,
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: thank you. I mean I'm not getting up there like
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: throwing an Eddie van Halen solo like I can. I
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: can strump some chords and play some songs. But um.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: I also was with Deuced when he sang bust a
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: movie karaoke and now, oh yeah, I heard about that.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Matt was Matt was just might have a tape of that?
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: I think you do. Don't you get that up on
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: the YouTube? You had the video? You heard this soundclip
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: of it too? Yeah? That was that was fun. I
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: was excited. What's your go to karaoke song? I did
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: that one in honor of my wife because she always
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: does bust move, So I kind of stole it because
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: it was also weird in this Nashville karaoke and everyone's
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: doing country. I'm like, let's get some party started here.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: I don't want so um Me and Matt Smith were
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: in the background drinking one hundred eleven, like, who's this
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: you guy? This new idiot up there? Um, But I've
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: done uh Amy by pure Perry League. I've done that
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: one before, you know that one. I've never remember. Oh
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: that right as I was saying that a happy hour,
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: that's where, that's where, That's where I did. I know,
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: like that in Squeezebox, but I don't Middle Hill Club
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: mid who close. I think it was actually a fob um.
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: Oh oh, and then I have one other one, the Wanderer,
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: the Wanderer. Which one is that one? I don't know
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: who's saying it? Bets Okay, yeah, those are those are
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: my Those are my three? Okay, I don't know. I
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: mean new ones. I need some new ones. I did
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: do uh Me and Angelique did party in the party
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: in the USA. I had Crystal. I think it was
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: just party. So I can't believe I missed. I couldn't
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: hit that. I couldn't at the high notes though. I
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: felt a little bit out of my depth. Miley's hard,
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Yeah I did. I was just trying to. I was
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: just trying to like harmonize with Angelique, you know, and
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: let her take the stage. But that was that was
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: mor Are you a drinker? Alex? Not really, no, not
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: really contrary to having gone to us good I've explored
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: with heroin or not for me anymore? You know, high
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: on life hide your tracks? Well yeah, but with I
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: put cover them with like burn marks from the oven. Okay, Oh,
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: I thought you cigarettes out on cooking, you know. Speaking
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: of of Heroin, watched a good documentary on Anthony Bourdain
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: on HBO. Yeah, that was very He was documentary about
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: his life that was in theaters recently. I don't know
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: that's a good question. I mean they had a ton
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: of access. What was it called Roadrunner? Yep, yeah, excellent,
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: It's on HBO. It was it was. It was really good.
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: And the interesting thing about him and Heroin was that
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: somebody said, Anthony Bordin is the only person I've ever
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: known that just quit Heroin cold turkey, Like he just
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: stopped and then. But it was one of those people
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: that pours his obsession into something, so he just instead
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: of pouring it into drugs, he poured it into being
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: a chef and fascinating. Alex says, Ryan, have you tried
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: a sandwich from Randall's Farm in Ludlow? Yes? I played
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: volleyball volleyball in Western mass and we frequently went out
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: of our way to stop there. Randall's is a local institution. Okay. Nice.
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: Another another Alex email from Bill Alex is officially on
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: the list. How can you say you were a film
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: miner and not know Departed was a remake of Internal Affairs?
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: And yes, Mike a Korean film which Korea South Korea
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: film minor, not a major. That means, Hey, this will
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: be cool to learn video editing skills and I'll watch
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: movies during class. Yeah, it's just a little bit of
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: stupid trivia that I knew about that movie. So Kiel
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: Brooklyn says, I'm a week late on this email, but
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: I wanted to circle back around Paul's comments on music. Paul,
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: why do you think it's not great to be able
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: to buy a song on the internet and then download
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: and listen to it right away? Feels a bit like
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: Eric not wanting to pay at the pump? Did I
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: say that, Yeah, you would come roun think downloading a
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: little bit? I don't. I know you do, but you
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: don't like it, not because of the download. I think
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: it's unfortunate for the artists. Well, it has been. That
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: was my point. Not because it's hard to download a song. Yeah,
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: even I can do that because of like a legal
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: downloading or people can just buy one song they don't
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: want to buy the whole album. Well that too, Yeah,
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: and I think I think there's probably some money loss.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: There's a revenue lost there. Yeah, there was. I think
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: back in the day and iTunes though, they would make
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: more money off iTunes than they would the records because records. No,
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: it hasn't worked that way. It's been hard. That's right
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: for streaming. But when it was the days of like
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: Apple Music buying a song for ninety nine cents downloading
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: the MP three, Yeah, that's when it started. That's when
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: they started losing money. Now they're figuring out ways to
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: get it back. But when Apple first started with the
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: ninety nine cent downloads and all that stuff, they just
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: weren't making They weren't making money. You know. It's yeah,
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: but I mean I have no problem with downloading music.
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's a million different way. How how could
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: you I mean, if I said that, I that's not
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: the way I meant. I mean, there was a day
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: when if you were an artist, musical artist, you would
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: never ever ever want your music on a commercial. Now
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: forget it. That's the first thing you do. That's like
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: Green Day hates the fact that their song became sort
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: of like you know that time of your life. Yeah,
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: what's the name of the song. I don't think that's
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: the name of the song? Um um. They hate that
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: the fact that that song became sort of like the graduation,
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: kind of like you know, tearful video, Like I hated that.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: Mark and Fall probably made them more money than the
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: Celtics are playing tonight. Will end with the Celtics emails.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: He says, I'm not sure if you guys are discussing Celtics,
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: but watching them play against the Warriors, this series has
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: reminded me of the Patriots. For twenty years, watching the
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: Patriots usually resulted in watching the other team beat themselves.
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: It feels like the Warriors have just let the Celtics
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: beat themselves like the Patriots did so many to so
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: many teams along the way. The only difference is we
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: have to watch our team do it over and over
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: again because it is a series and the other side
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: of it. Now, I don't look at it that way,
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: but I look at it as Golden States played better.
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: Like when you turn the ball over. I know everybody
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: around here says the You know, the Celtics love to
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: make it hard on themselves, and you know they're doing
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: it again, and they're blown opportunity with like nothing to
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: do with the other team, like forcing eighteen turnovers. It's
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: the Celtics cover. That's what I was trying to tell
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: you all these years with the Patriots, when you would
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: say the other teams staking, I say, well, maybe the
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: Patriots had something to do with it. But now, because
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: now you have that take, wait a minute, and I'm
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: glad you've come around. Wait a minute, and I agree
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: with you a take on the Patriots, And I always
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: have no in games like you and Andy play sucks.
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: You know you're you're making two different arguments. The league
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: does what happens. The league does suck by and large,
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: and teams give games away. But you can't tell me
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: they won six super Bowls because the other team sucked. No,
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: that's stupid. That's what you guys used to say. Never
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: once that I was Super Bowl the other team suck,
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: I would I would give credit to the other team
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: and the Patriots having beaten that team you would take
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: away from the Patriots by diminishing the other team. I
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: would take away again and again when when they get
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: dominated by like the Cleveland Browns and Lewis because Cleveland
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: gives the ball away seventeen times. Like that's different, right,
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: because my Patriots had nothing to do. But you don't
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: beat the the like the Steelers and the Colts and
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: the Rams, all because the other team sucks. Sorry, the
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: other team doesn't suck. No, but they would say, teams
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: come to me. That's what teams. I don't know what
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: to do. It's all about the Celtics sucking, not the
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: Golden State doing anything that I agree with. And I
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: also agree with the other way too. All right, that's
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: gonna be it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. We'll
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: be back next week, right, yeah, why wouldn't we be back?
