- 1:00The Arise Women of God Podcast hello,.
- 1:02And welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:07I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:08Anderson, and joining me today is Carrie Angewerden, a member of our Women warriors of Light Advisory board.
- 1:16And today we're talking all about the accessibility of heaven.
- 1:20First, we're going to discuss the command to always pray and why a silent dialogue can be a scriptural requirement for protection.
- 1:31Second, Carrie is going to share a Christmas miracle that happened at the airport and how a silent petition can help you navigate impossible hurdles in life.
- 1:43Third, I'm going to share my diaper wipe analogy, proof that God is interested in the details of your life, even if they're not super important in the long run.
- 1:56And.
- 1:56And finally, we're going to talk about the road to Emmaus, how Jesus is willing to walk and talk with us in our minds and in our hearts until we truly recognize Him.
- 2:08But let's kick it off by talking about what it means to pray always or keep a prayer in our heart.
- 2:14Well, I know the power of praying out loud, but can I just say, if we can't pray silently, then I'm in trouble because I do it all the time, all day long.
- 2:26You know, just.
- 2:27I always find myself sending these little messages heavenward.
- 2:32I'm not always in a good space to just, you know, kneel down and pray.
- 2:37So for me, I hope so.
- 2:40And the scriptures tell us that, right?
- 2:42That we need to be praying always so that we can be protected from temptations and.
- 2:49And other evils around us.
- 2:51And I don't know about you, but I am always doing that.
- 2:55In the car.
- 2:56I will kneel down and say a prayer at night.
- 2:59And then when I get in bed, I might remember a Few things that I forgot as I was kneeling down.
- 3:07And I'll start a dialogue in my head again.
- 3:10I'm doing it all the time.
- 3:12It feels right to me.
- 3:13I, you know, and this.
- 3:14And like I said, the scriptures tell us that we should be doing that.
- 3:18Almost a command, right?
- 3:20It really is a command.
- 3:22In First Thessalonians, it tells us to pray continually.
- 3:26And while that doesn't mean that every single thought has to be a formal, dear Heavenly Father, it does mean that that line of communication is always open to you.
- 3:38Carrie found this line to be a literal lifesaver when she was facing an impossible travel situation.
- 3:45Couple of months ago, I was on a flight home.
- 3:49We were on a buddy pass flight.
- 3:51So it was around Christmas time.
- 3:55Chances of us getting on a flight were not real great, but we needed to be home at a certain time.
- 4:00And I remember going into the airport with the idea of really what, what's in front of you is impossible.
- 4:13So I guess anytime you feel like what you're facing is impossible, those are the perfect times to seek out God and, and to speak to Him.
- 4:23And I was praying all through the airport, help us to get through security seamlessly, right?
- 4:33And then I try to remind myself as I'm coming out of security, oh,.
- 4:39Thank you, Heavenly Father, for helping me.
- 4:42Get through security the way that we did.
- 4:45Now can you help me with the next hurdle?
- 4:48But trying to remember every time to.
- 4:50Go back and say thank you for.
- 4:53What he is doing along the way.
- 4:57And I don't always remember and I'm not always perfect at that.
- 5:00But again, anything that's impossible, anything that is hopeless, anytime you feel alone, those are the times.
- 5:08Especially in those moments.
- 5:10He's a parent, he wants to help us, right?
- 5:13What parent doesn't want to help their.
- 5:14Child solve their stress?
- 5:17Isn't it great to know that God wants to help us with the big stressors like travel, but he is also there for the messy moments that feel almost too small to mention.
- 5:28But what if what I'm worried about is something that is way too small for God to be worried about?
- 5:34It's nothing big, it's nothing important.
- 5:37And I'm going to take you back to a very young mom, Tamara, who was on the floor of her living room and my first baby had this blowout poopy diaper.
- 5:51And I was sitting there and I'm like, okay, I've got the diaper, I've got the pad to put them on.
- 5:57And I'm looking around for the wipes and I know this is where I change them all the time and they were nowhere to be seen.
- 6:08And I start looking everywhere.
- 6:10I was trying to hold my child so, you know, the poop wouldn't get everywhere in the living room.
- 6:15And I'm like, dear Lord, you know, and this is one of those silent prayers.
- 6:19I can't find the wipes, I can't see them, I can't find him, but I really need help because I don't know what else to do, you know, it was kind of one of those panic mom prayers in the
- 6:28moment for wipes, you guys.
- 6:33For me, it was super, super important at the moment.
- 6:37Pause and think.
- 6:37In the eternal scheme of things.
- 6:40Are wet wipes that important to God?
- 6:43Probably not.
- 6:44But because it was important to me,.
- 6:47I got a quick thought, look under the couch.
- 6:52I'm like, I picked up the fabric.
- 6:56That was covering the bottom of the couch.
- 6:57Sure enough, they were right there.
- 6:59And I remember it was just one of those epiphanies that God cares about the little things that matter to us.
- 7:10And I was thankful to learn that,.
- 7:13That I could talk to him in.
- 7:16My head in a moment of panic.
- 7:17And he answered, and I'm so thankful for that.
- 7:22Oh, ladies, nothing is too small for God.
- 7:25He is as close as your next thought.
- 7:28As Carrie and I were discussing, that mental conversation isn't just for asking for things.
- 7:34It's about abiding with him.
- 7:37Just like the disciples did on that road to Emmaus.
- 7:41The story of the men on the road to Emmaus popped into my mind.
- 7:46I love that story because they were walking and talking with Jesus.
- 7:49They didn't recognize Him.
- 7:51They get to the town and he was going to go farther or acted like he was going to go farther.
- 7:56And they invited him in to abide with them.
- 8:01And as they did, and he broke bread, then they finally recognized who he was.
- 8:06But I love that image of Jesus walking with us.
- 8:11He's willing to walk with us and talk with us.
- 8:14And I love the thought of him abiding with us.
- 8:18And I think that's a beautiful invitation that we can make at the beginning and at the end and in the.
- 8:24Middle of every day.
- 8:25Lord, abide with me today.
- 8:30I love that.
- 8:31I think that just abide with him.
- 8:34As much as we want him to abide with us.
- 8:37And, and I think that would be the reason why we would talk to God in our head, is that we want that continual walk with Him.
- 8:46And it is a continual conversation, right?
- 8:49It's not just a, a one way conversation.
- 8:52It's two ways to being open to speaking to him in the hard things and the the things that we are excited about or anything, right?
- 9:04But creating that continual walk with God.
- 9:09One last thing, I just wanted to share this quote from Brother Lawrence who.
- 9:13Is a 17th century monk and he.
- 9:16Said he does not ask much of.
- 9:18Us, merely a thought of him from time to time.
- 9:21A little adoration, sometimes to ask his grace, sometimes to offer him your sufferings and sometimes to return him thanks.
- 9:32A thought from time to time.
- 9:34Isn't that great that that is what God wants from us.
- 9:37That is all he asks.
- 9:39You are never alone because God is as close as your next thought.
- 9:44Whether you're praying for a way home from an airport or just a way to clean up the mess in the living room.
- 9:49I can testify that your prayers are heard and that they are honored.
- 9:54You can speak to God in your head and and he does listen because he loves you.
- 9:59And if you want to move to deeper conversations and building a relationship with God, I invite you to go get our free gift, the Roadmap to Revelation, which will give you six simple steps to helping you hear God
- 10:12better in your daily life and build a relationship with Him.
- 10:16Along with that, we also have a free audio meditation to help you receive light and revelation from God.
- 10:23The link for that bundle is in the show notes below.
- 10:27So my friend, invite God into your daily thoughts today and abide with him and until next time, may you arise.
- 10:34Do it God's way.
- 10:35God strong.
