- 0:15Speaker 3: Was your mom in love with him?
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:17Speaker 5: She was? He treated her like no one else did.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Little does she know she's planning to marry a monster
- 0:23Speaker 1: who's going to kill me, a man with a secret obsession.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Her prince Charming is a need free who goes ballistic over.
- 0:31Speaker 5: A drop us as on his tile.
- 0:33Speaker 3: That's how OCD he was one stain. They thought about
- 0:36Speaker 3: this for a week.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Did spilled marinera lead to murder?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Why?
- 0:43Speaker 1: And the one dirty detail mister clean left at the
- 0:46Speaker 1: crime scene It.
- 0:47Speaker 6: Was the furthest thing from his mind that he left.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Plus he was the go to guy for botox and
- 0:54Speaker 1: laser beauty treatments. But is this cosmetic doc really a
- 0:58Speaker 1: con man?
- 0:58Speaker 7: I remember looking at all those letters below, going you
- 1:01Speaker 7: should have had bs behind all these letters today.
- 1:03Speaker 1: The undercover sting to stop the so called botox Bambougelor we're.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Done with this conversation? What about done right now?

- 1:24Speaker 8: We'll find you again, we always do.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Welcome to crime Watch Daily, everyone. I'm Chris Hansen. First
- 1:33Speaker 1: up today, the story of a Texas woman and her
- 1:35Speaker 1: desperate escape from a violent past. For the details, let's
- 1:38Speaker 1: head out to our Ana Garcia.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Chris.
- 1:41Speaker 7: Nicole Ledger lived in fear every minute of every day
- 1:44Speaker 7: as long as her ex fiance was out of jail,
- 1:47Speaker 7: and sadly, that fear became a tragic reality Beauty and
- 1:56Speaker 7: the Beast. When Nicole Ledger met the monster, it was
- 2:01Speaker 7: a recipe for murder. Literally, he was going to kill me.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Our FULLI Lady's going to kill me.
- 2:10Speaker 7: Nicole's story will send chills down your spine. She was stalked,
- 2:14Speaker 7: held hostage, and sexually assaulted by the very person who
- 2:19Speaker 7: once proclaimed he passionately loved her. Nicole was a gorgeous
- 2:27Speaker 7: thirty four year old single mom from the Dallas area.
- 2:31Speaker 7: She made friends easily. Just ask her best friends Mike
- 2:34Speaker 7: Autrey and Holly Wheeler.
- 2:36Speaker 9: What drew me to Nicole was just that she was.
- 2:42Speaker 7: Always so.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Big.
- 2:45Speaker 9: She I don't know how else to describe it. She
- 2:47Speaker 9: was so big. She was very independent. I love that
- 2:51Speaker 9: most about her. I think I just kind of always
- 2:53Speaker 9: looked up to her in that aspect.
- 2:56Speaker 8: Over time, hell, she became one of my closest friend
- 3:00Speaker 8: as I was.
- 3:01Speaker 7: Hers life dealt Nicole a tough hand. She was only
- 3:05Speaker 7: seventeen when she got pregnant with her son, Trey.
- 3:10Speaker 5: My mouf was amazing, you know.
- 3:12Speaker 10: She played both the mom and the dad since she
- 3:14Speaker 10: was a single parent.
- 3:16Speaker 7: A single parent who did what was necessary to survive,
- 3:20Speaker 7: dancing in clubs, working for a stockbroker. Nicole had just
- 3:25Speaker 7: been accepted to nursing school. Finally, her future seemed bright
- 3:30Speaker 7: until the dark day she met Michael Adams.
- 3:33Speaker 3: What was your first impression?
- 3:36Speaker 7: Uh?
- 3:37Speaker 5: Weird?
- 3:38Speaker 10: He dyed his hair jet black, I guess just because
- 3:41Speaker 10: he was going through a mid life crisis.
- 3:43Speaker 7: Adams was a ripo man and quickly stole her heart.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Was your mom in love with him?
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:50Speaker 5: She was.
- 3:51Speaker 10: She always talked about how he treated her like no
- 3:54Speaker 10: one else did, how he treated her on such a
- 3:57Speaker 10: pedestal that she felt, I don't know, like a queen.
- 4:00Speaker 5: She never denied the fact that he treated her really well.
- 4:05Speaker 3: What kind of nice things would he do for her.
- 4:07Speaker 10: Just small surprises like a vasive flowers here and there,
- 4:13Speaker 10: you know, small I Love you notes, like sticky notes
- 4:17Speaker 10: in her jacket, just the little things.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Really, Adams seemed to be a real catch. Look at
- 4:23Speaker 7: the red brick mini mansion he owned in the upscale
- 4:26Speaker 7: Dallas suburb of Frisco. But Trey says there was one
- 4:31Speaker 7: big problem.
- 4:32Speaker 5: He was incredibly ocd.
- 4:34Speaker 10: I mean not any Nothing was out of place in
- 4:37Speaker 10: his house. Everything was in a certain point. It never moved.
- 4:42Speaker 10: He had a pool table upstairs and he literally never
- 4:45Speaker 10: played on it since he bought it.
- 4:47Speaker 7: Adams was so obsessive he even lined up the labels
- 4:51Speaker 7: on a soda pop. When Nicole and Trey moved in,
- 4:54Speaker 7: they quickly learned not to violate the one unbreakable rule.
- 4:59Speaker 3: No on the couch.
- 5:02Speaker 5: He had a couch.
- 5:03Speaker 10: It was a crescent moon couch about three quarters He
- 5:06Speaker 10: absolutely refused to sit on it and didn't want us
- 5:09Speaker 10: sitting on it either or else we would get it dirty.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So where did everyone sit?
- 5:13Speaker 10: He had one love seat on the outside of the
- 5:15Speaker 10: couch and then just a regular chair on the other side.
- 5:19Speaker 7: The house was decorated like what you'd see in a
- 5:22Speaker 7: glossy real estate brochure, but the closet could have been
- 5:25Speaker 7: the cover story for a gun magazine, right above his
- 5:29Speaker 7: neatly pressed t shirts sorted by color, handgun cases sorted
- 5:33Speaker 7: by caliber. Did things change in their relationship when you
- 5:38Speaker 7: two moved in?
- 5:40Speaker 5: Definitely?
- 5:41Speaker 3: How.
- 5:41Speaker 10: I can specifically remember one night we had had.
- 5:45Speaker 7: Spaghetti spaghetti, Nicole's favorite food. Trey says, that night Adams
- 5:52Speaker 7: dished out grief with the ground beef.
- 5:55Speaker 10: I guess either myself or my mom had spilt a
- 5:58Speaker 10: droplet of the sauce on his tile, and when I
- 6:02Speaker 10: microwaved my bowl, the sauce said, you know, gotten over.
- 6:06Speaker 5: I didn't put a napkin over it.
- 6:08Speaker 3: The sauce spilled over the bowl in the microwaves, hopping.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Like when it would overheat.
- 6:13Speaker 10: That was about a week long argument between them, because
- 6:17Speaker 10: that's how ocd he was.
- 6:19Speaker 5: They fought a lot.
- 6:21Speaker 10: He would be yelling, swearing, saying, you know, why, why
- 6:25Speaker 10: didn't you clean it up? Why didn't you, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 10: be more careful. I guess they thought about it for
- 6:31Speaker 10: a long time.
- 6:32Speaker 7: They thought about the spaghetti sauce. One stain on the
- 6:36Speaker 7: tile and then a little sauce in the microwave.
- 6:40Speaker 3: They thought about this for a.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Week yep, seven days, but as.
- 6:44Speaker 7: You're about to learn, spaghetti would be the string that
- 6:47Speaker 7: would unravel their relationship in more ways than one. Trey says,
- 6:52Speaker 7: after less than two months, Nicole had enough and moved out.
- 6:56Speaker 7: But then Adams asked her to marry him.
- 7:00Speaker 5: She was excited, she was all giddy.
- 7:02Speaker 10: He came over and a black T shirt, black pants,
- 7:06Speaker 10: you know, dressed out. They went out to dinner and
- 7:09Speaker 10: then she went back to his house and that's where
- 7:12Speaker 10: he did the proposal.
- 7:14Speaker 7: And so Nicole and Tray moved back to the Big
- 7:16Speaker 7: House in Frisco until the next fight, and Trey says,
- 7:20Speaker 7: this one was the mother of all fights.
- 7:24Speaker 10: He had very aggressively ripped off the ring from her
- 7:27Speaker 10: ring finger.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I want to say he fractured it.
- 7:30Speaker 10: She had to go to the doctor's office and get
- 7:33Speaker 10: splint for it.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Is she done with.
- 7:35Speaker 10: Him at this point, yeah, definitely.
- 7:38Speaker 7: So you move out for the second time and the
- 7:40Speaker 7: engagement is off, yes, Tray says. After they moved into
- 7:45Speaker 7: an apartment, strange things were happening.
- 7:48Speaker 5: It started with a chiwala we had.
- 7:50Speaker 10: Her name was Penelope, and we come home one day
- 7:54Speaker 10: and someone had left the front door open. We didn't
- 7:58Speaker 10: call maintenance that day. We always locked them or and
- 8:00Speaker 10: Mike had a key.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We suspected that he let her out. Two days later
- 8:05Speaker 5: we actually found her. She got ran over.
- 8:07Speaker 10: After that, I was in school and I come home
- 8:11Speaker 10: and my mom came home before me, and she actually
- 8:14Speaker 10: texted me when I was in school saying somebody had
- 8:17Speaker 10: came in and poured bleach all over our clothes.
- 8:20Speaker 3: So what did your mom think?
- 8:21Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure she suspected Mike.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Then what happened?
- 8:24Speaker 10: She recalls looking out past the building because our cars
- 8:30Speaker 10: parked around the corner, and she sees like a kind
- 8:34Speaker 10: of a red glow, and so she goes and looks
- 8:36Speaker 10: at it, and sure enough, it's our car that was
- 8:39Speaker 10: lit on fire.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Did your mom think it was Mike?
- 8:43Speaker 7: She did, Pray, says his mom had no choice but
- 8:47Speaker 7: to ask Adams for help buying a new car, so
- 8:51Speaker 7: Mike came.
- 8:52Speaker 3: To the rescue.
- 8:53Speaker 10: They co signed on a car, and it was It
- 8:55Speaker 10: was a nice car. It was brand new at the time.
- 9:00Speaker 10: She had been driving it for a while and she
- 9:03Speaker 10: kept wanting to get the full lease from him, to
- 9:07Speaker 10: have him take off his name.
- 9:10Speaker 7: Nicole went to Adam's house to have him sign over
- 9:12Speaker 7: the car title and get her belongings. He whipped up spaghetti,
- 9:16Speaker 7: a sort of peace offering. Nicole couldn't refuse a hot
- 9:20Speaker 7: plate apasta. Maybe she should have next terror in the
- 9:27Speaker 7: tomato sauce.
- 9:28Speaker 11: Share a few bites, the room starts spinning.
- 9:31Speaker 7: In her own words, the drugging.
- 9:34Speaker 12: And ali and tie my feet are tied to my
- 9:38Speaker 12: ankles behind me.
- 9:40Speaker 7: The brutal sexual assault.
- 9:43Speaker 11: Walksome into the bedroom and takes off on my clothes
- 9:48Speaker 11: and then plows a a.
- 9:56Speaker 1: We're back now with a story of a textas mom
- 9:58Speaker 1: trying everything she can to escape an abusive relationship. Let's
- 10:02Speaker 1: head back to Anna Garcia.
- 10:04Speaker 7: Nicole Ledger went to her ex fiance's house to pick
- 10:07Speaker 7: up her stuff. It was lunchtime, so they ate spaghetti.
- 10:11Speaker 7: But this was no typical Marinera recipe. Cop say, Michael
- 10:17Speaker 7: Adams put a special ingredient in the sauce, a knockout drug.
- 10:23Speaker 11: Shave a few bites, and want to get my stuff
- 10:26Speaker 11: in A.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Room starts spinning.
- 10:28Speaker 7: That's Nicole's dramatic audio statement to Frisco, Texas Police detective
- 10:32Speaker 7: Scot Rear.
- 10:34Speaker 12: Really hit me and then start hit me even faster
- 10:36Speaker 12: and faster.
- 10:37Speaker 7: What Nicole says happened next will shock you.
- 10:41Speaker 11: Welcome into the bedroom and takes off on my clothes
- 10:45Speaker 11: and then close out a a really large and I'm
- 10:59Speaker 11: saying no, but I can't do anything.
- 11:01Speaker 4: You can't rem my arms in my legs.
- 11:04Speaker 7: Nicole says Adams began to brutally assault her with a
- 11:07Speaker 7: sex toy.
- 11:08Speaker 4: We never he has.
- 11:10Speaker 12: Toys like that her own, and and he bends me
- 11:15Speaker 12: over it, puts it, puts it in Stitt's taking a
- 11:19Speaker 12: bunch of pictures, and.
- 11:21Speaker 4: I was out. I was passed up.
- 11:22Speaker 8: You ever taking pictures before or.
- 11:26Speaker 4: But never like not with that. And we've never never
- 11:32Speaker 4: played with any toys at all.
- 11:34Speaker 8: So what's the next thing that you remember?
- 11:37Speaker 4: Waking up? Being tied my hands behind my.
- 11:40Speaker 7: Back, hog tied with rope, her mouth gagged with duct tape.
- 11:45Speaker 4: But a ton of duct tapes. They called way from
- 11:48Speaker 4: here to here.
- 11:49Speaker 12: She's a rash around me. And the next thing I remember,
- 11:52Speaker 12: I'm banging on his neighbor's door.
- 11:54Speaker 4: I know you untied me.
- 11:57Speaker 7: Nicole managed to get away from her captors. She told
- 12:00Speaker 7: police that she ran out of the house naked and
- 12:02Speaker 7: screaming for help, but he caught her and dragged her
- 12:06Speaker 7: back for yet more torture. Nicole said Adams dragged her
- 12:11Speaker 7: into the garage, but being the obsessive, neat freaky was,
- 12:15Speaker 7: Adams first threw her on top of a tarp, cuffed
- 12:19Speaker 7: her hands and zip tied her ankles. Then he cut
- 12:23Speaker 7: off her hair and cut off on.
- 12:26Speaker 4: My hair too.
- 12:28Speaker 11: Now he tried to pull it out, un he just
- 12:32Speaker 11: tuck it out.
- 12:33Speaker 7: How would Nicole escape from the demon she once thought
- 12:36Speaker 7: was her angel? She tried wiggling out of the restraints.
- 12:41Speaker 4: It tak me a while to I untied myself.
- 12:44Speaker 12: I just kept playing with it and finally it came undone.
- 12:48Speaker 7: But she couldn't slip out of the handcuffs. Nicole realized
- 12:51Speaker 7: the only way out, the only way to save her life,
- 12:55Speaker 7: was talking nice.
- 12:56Speaker 8: What were you saying nice time?
- 12:58Speaker 7: Like?
- 12:58Speaker 4: What are you playing on to me?
- 13:00Speaker 12: I'm like, are you going to kill me? He's like,
- 13:02Speaker 12: I don't know what I'm doing yet. I'm like, you
- 13:04Speaker 12: just need to calm down. You just overreacted. You know,
- 13:07Speaker 12: we need to go to therapy.
- 13:08Speaker 4: We can work through.
- 13:09Speaker 7: It all, Nicole promised Adams. She wouldn't press charges if
- 13:13Speaker 7: he let her go, but there was no way she
- 13:16Speaker 7: could keep that promise.
- 13:17Speaker 8: Did you want to file charges on him?
- 13:19Speaker 4: Absolutely? I want to bury him. Okay, absolutely, I want
- 13:24Speaker 4: to He's gonna kill me. I fully avoid. He's gonna
- 13:27Speaker 4: kill me. He cannot control his anger. How long is
- 13:30Speaker 4: he going to take me? I still get.
- 13:31Speaker 7: Him, Still gotta dig through a few things.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Are you serious right now? Can end up killing me.
- 13:42Speaker 7: Cops quickly got a search warrant, and in Adam's spotless
- 13:46Speaker 7: white Lexus they found the evidence, the sex toy, the
- 13:50Speaker 7: rope and zip ties and duct tape with her hair
- 13:54Speaker 7: all over it, and the spaghetti and the jar of sauce.
- 13:58Speaker 7: The poison spaghetti was still in the back of the car.
- 14:01Speaker 6: He had taken all the stuff from what he had
- 14:05Speaker 6: done the day previous, and he was going to get
- 14:08Speaker 6: rid of it, but he got arrested before he could
- 14:10Speaker 6: do that.
- 14:11Speaker 7: Adams was busted, pleading not guilty to charges of sexual
- 14:16Speaker 7: assault and aggravated kidnapping.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I'm going to give this team.
- 14:20Speaker 8: And if you would just swam it on the side
- 14:22Speaker 8: of your cheek, we'll put it in the box and
- 14:24Speaker 8: then see it up. That'll be it.
- 14:27Speaker 7: This police video shows detectives taking a DNA swab from Adams.
- 14:32Speaker 7: Despite the severity of the charges they could mean life
- 14:34Speaker 7: in prison, Adams made bail. Nicole was petrified he would
- 14:39Speaker 7: track her down and kill her, so they moved to
- 14:42Speaker 7: another town in another county. It would be the last
- 14:46Speaker 7: move they would ever make. Next an obsession turns into terror.
- 14:52Speaker 7: It sounds diabolical.
- 14:54Speaker 5: I would agree, and the.
- 14:55Speaker 7: Police detective who took protect and serve to a whole
- 14:59Speaker 7: new level. No.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Back to the tragic story of Nicole Ledger.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Here's integarchia, Chris.
- 15:07Speaker 7: What happened inside this house was horrific. Police say. Nicole
- 15:12Speaker 7: Ledger was fed poisoned food, She was bound, gagged, her
- 15:16Speaker 7: hair was cut off, and then sexually assaulted by a
- 15:19Speaker 7: man she once called her fiance.
- 15:23Speaker 12: I can't I move my arms to did you start
- 15:26Speaker 12: staking my clothes off?
- 15:28Speaker 7: Nicole Ledger was naked and scared to death.
- 15:32Speaker 4: He's getting killed me.
- 15:34Speaker 7: Nicole was terrorized by her ex fiance, Michael Adams, a
- 15:38Speaker 7: monster who put a knockout drug in her spaghetti sauce.
- 15:42Speaker 4: You told me later, didn't you put something in the food?
- 15:46Speaker 4: He said? It was regular Over the counter sleeping pills.
- 15:49Speaker 4: But there's no way that that could have done that,
- 15:52Speaker 4: and I was out. I was out for a long time.
- 15:56Speaker 7: Prosecutors say the attack was revenge for Nicole breaking up
- 16:00Speaker 7: with Adams.
- 16:01Speaker 6: It makes you wonder if, well he was going to
- 16:04Speaker 6: kill her then but decided not to.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Is that what you think?
- 16:08Speaker 5: Oh?
- 16:08Speaker 7: Absolutely, that night, Nicole's son, Trey says he got a text,
- 16:13Speaker 7: presumably from his mom. It said she wasn't coming home
- 16:17Speaker 7: and she was spending the night at a friend's house.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So did she actually write that text or did he?
- 16:22Speaker 5: He did liked it.
- 16:23Speaker 7: So Mike pretends to be your mom and sends you
- 16:27Speaker 7: a text telling you all, Mom's not coming home.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Don't worry, I'm at a friend's house.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Yeah, Nicole wasn't at a friend's house. She was at
- 16:37Speaker 7: a house of horrors and barely made it out alive,
- 16:42Speaker 7: singing hits what it is. Nicole's friend, Holly Wheeler is emotionalless.
- 16:47Speaker 7: She looks at the pictures of Nicole in the hospital
- 16:50Speaker 7: for the first time. She was battered and bruised, her
- 16:54Speaker 7: feet and ankles savagely cut from the sharp zip ties
- 16:57Speaker 7: digging into her flesh.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Then somebody went through this.
- 17:09Speaker 7: And such a it's horrible. Holly says she gave Nicole
- 17:14Speaker 7: advice on how to vanish from her violent ex fiance.
- 17:18Speaker 9: My last conversation with her was when she was asking
- 17:21Speaker 9: for advice on how to.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Kind of get away.
- 17:26Speaker 9: She called me at my office and started to talk
- 17:30Speaker 9: because I had been through a kind of similar situation,
- 17:34Speaker 9: you know, bad relationship, kind of crazy stalker, you know,
- 17:41Speaker 9: beating kind of deal, and I had been through that,
- 17:46Speaker 9: so she I knew how to I got away and
- 17:52Speaker 9: kind of got off the radar for a little bit,
- 17:54Speaker 9: and so she called to ask, you know, some advice
- 17:57Speaker 9: on how to handle it.
- 18:02Speaker 7: Nicole was so afraid for her life that she moved
- 18:04Speaker 7: here to Melissa, Texas with her teen son, and she
- 18:07Speaker 7: rented a home and set up utilities under a friend's
- 18:10Speaker 7: name because she was so afraid her ex would find her.
- 18:14Speaker 7: But Adams found her an obvious violation of the court's
- 18:18Speaker 7: protective order. So now he's like the crazy man you
- 18:21Speaker 7: cannot get away from, right, So you guys thought you
- 18:24Speaker 7: were free, but that wasn't true. No, prosecutors say. Adams,
- 18:31Speaker 7: now charged with sexual assault and kidnapping, left a godfather
- 18:35Speaker 7: like message on the doorstep of her new house, a
- 18:40Speaker 7: tarp and handcuffs, the same ones he used when he
- 18:44Speaker 7: kidnapped her.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Was at a signal well.
- 18:46Speaker 6: The theory was that the defendant had put those things
- 18:50Speaker 6: there as a threat to Nicole regarding what had happened
- 18:54Speaker 6: in the past, and he did not want her to testify,
- 18:58Speaker 6: so it was a threat.
- 19:00Speaker 7: It also said to them, I found you exactly. So
- 19:04Speaker 7: how did Adams find Nicole? Remember he was a repo man,
- 19:09Speaker 7: an expert in finding cars. Cops say he secretly put
- 19:13Speaker 7: a GPS device on Nichole's car and used his work
- 19:17Speaker 7: computer to track her every move.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Was he obsessed with Nicole? I would say that he was.
- 19:23Speaker 6: He had, for example, the photograph of her framed on
- 19:27Speaker 6: his bedstand, of her topless, That's just so strange and
- 19:32Speaker 6: so obsessive in my view, in offensive.
- 19:36Speaker 7: But then Nicole had become the love interest of another man,
- 19:40Speaker 7: a man who swore to protect and serve. The detective
- 19:44Speaker 7: you heard interviewing Nicole hours after the brutal sex assault,
- 19:49Speaker 7: Scott Greer. Nicole sent Greer pictures more sizzling than a
- 19:54Speaker 7: Texas parking lot in August, sexy selfies topless in the bathtub.
- 20:00Speaker 7: They began exchanging emails, what are you wearing? I'll rent
- 20:04Speaker 7: us a room and we won't leave it. Most are
- 20:08Speaker 7: so sexually charged we can't repeat them on national television.
- 20:13Speaker 7: Nicole wasn't the only crime victim Greer was involved with.
- 20:17Speaker 7: After an investigation showing he had inappropriate relationships with four women,
- 20:23Speaker 7: Greer resigned from the force. We contacted him for a comment,
- 20:29Speaker 7: but he never returned our calls.
- 20:31Speaker 3: It makes me wonder if.
- 20:35Speaker 9: If he had been focused on actually helping her and
- 20:40Speaker 9: focused on keeping her safe and not focused on getting
- 20:44Speaker 9: pictures of whatever, then maybe maybe we'd be in a
- 20:52Speaker 9: different place now.
- 20:55Speaker 7: But it was becoming more clear maybe no one could
- 20:58Speaker 7: protect Nicole at this point, and she was clearly aware
- 21:03Speaker 7: it could be only a matter of time until the
- 21:05Speaker 7: animal attacked again. She texted her son, and this time
- 21:11Speaker 7: it really was her texting him. Stay inside, she said,
- 21:15Speaker 7: if Mike comes over, call nine one one. But the
- 21:19Speaker 7: call Trey ended up making to nine one one was
- 21:22Speaker 7: one he never thought he'd have to make.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Next, he cornered Nicole back in the bedroom of her home.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Nicole comes face to face again with her crazy X,
- 21:34Speaker 7: but this time will she escape?
- 21:37Speaker 3: No son should have to see that.
- 21:41Speaker 1: How in the world can a man who poisoned, kidnapped,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and sexually assaulted a woman be let out of jail
- 21:45Speaker 1: before he stands trial. It's the mind numbing question that
- 21:49Speaker 1: Nicole Ledger was asking after her ex fiancee, who she
- 21:52Speaker 1: says brutally attacked her, was let loose after posting bail.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Here's Ana Garcia.
- 21:59Speaker 7: Nicole Ledgered, a man who lived twenty two miles away.
- 22:03Speaker 4: He's going to kill me our fully, the lady's going
- 22:07Speaker 4: to kill me.
- 22:09Speaker 7: A man on the loose with a criminal mind, a
- 22:11Speaker 7: dark heart, and a violent temper. Michael Adams, her ex
- 22:18Speaker 7: fiance Nicole, and her son Trey, worried Adams would track
- 22:24Speaker 7: her down and kill her.
- 22:26Speaker 10: She looked at me and she said, you know, Trey,
- 22:29Speaker 10: he's gonna find us and he's gonna kill me.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Their worst fears were about to come true.
- 22:36Speaker 10: I had gone to school that morning. Before I left,
- 22:39Speaker 10: you know, I gave her the good old you know love.
- 22:42Speaker 10: You see when I get back, kiss on the forehead.
- 22:44Speaker 7: That would be the final kiss. When Trey came back home,
- 22:50Speaker 7: the smell of death was in the air.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Everything seemed out of place. Something seemed right.
- 22:56Speaker 10: I go over to her bedroom door and I knock
- 22:58Speaker 10: on it, you know, wake up, I'm home, And no,
- 23:00Speaker 10: I didn't hear anything. So I peek under the door
- 23:04Speaker 10: to see if I can see her, and I see
- 23:05Speaker 10: her foot hanging off, and I think she's just asleep still,
- 23:08Speaker 10: so I knock a little bit louder, you know, wake up,
- 23:11Speaker 10: I'm here. And the door was locked, so I couldn't
- 23:14Speaker 10: open it.
- 23:14Speaker 5: So I go into.
- 23:17Speaker 10: The kitchen and I grab a ball point pen and
- 23:19Speaker 10: take it apart, and I used the ink cartridge to
- 23:23Speaker 10: kind of pick the lock. So at this point I'm
- 23:26Speaker 10: decently scared, and I finally shoulder it open, and she's
- 23:31Speaker 10: laying on the bed. She had her underwear down on
- 23:35Speaker 10: one ankle, she had her shirt lifted up over her chest.
- 23:39Speaker 5: She had been shot in the head.
- 23:42Speaker 3: No son should have to see that, Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 10: So I run out to the front, closed the door,
- 23:49Speaker 10: closed the front door behind me, and called nine one one, okay.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Way.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Nicole was shot twice in the face. She died instantly.
- 24:03Speaker 9: Why why did he have to take her away?
- 24:11Speaker 7: Nicole's friend, Holly Wheeler, was at work when she got
- 24:14Speaker 7: the phone call that Nicole had been shot.
- 24:16Speaker 3: To death. I started crying.
- 24:21Speaker 9: We were all kind of pretty close at the office,
- 24:23Speaker 9: we were, you know, so it kind of kind of
- 24:26Speaker 9: hit us all pretty hard.
- 24:29Speaker 7: But was it Adams or someone else?
- 24:32Speaker 3: You knew who did it?
- 24:36Speaker 7: It was Mike, but Adams claimed he had an alibi.
- 24:41Speaker 7: These images from a surveillance camera show him shopping at
- 24:44Speaker 7: home depot around the time of the murder, and at
- 24:48Speaker 7: the crime scene, cops found two used condoms from two
- 24:52Speaker 7: different men. So who killed Nicole? It took nearly six
- 24:57Speaker 7: months for cops to finally find their killer, Mike Adams,
- 25:02Speaker 7: and another three for an indictment on a capital murder charge.
- 25:07Speaker 7: What took so long?
- 25:08Speaker 6: It takes a while for all the evidence to be
- 25:10Speaker 6: collected and tested and ultimately his DNA was found on
- 25:15Speaker 6: an item at the scene.
- 25:18Speaker 7: That item one of those used condoms, But adams DNA
- 25:22Speaker 7: wasn't on the inside, it was on the outside.
- 25:26Speaker 3: How did he leave the DNA well?
- 25:29Speaker 6: His DNA was found at the crime scene and it
- 25:31Speaker 6: was epithelial or skin cell DNA. It was on a
- 25:34Speaker 6: condom that was close to the top of the garbage
- 25:37Speaker 6: in the master bath. It could be that he was
- 25:40Speaker 6: washing her blood off of his hands, and he picked
- 25:43Speaker 6: up that item and put it in the trash, not
- 25:45Speaker 6: thinking that he would actually leave behind DNA that could
- 25:49Speaker 6: be linked to him.
- 25:50Speaker 7: Later, investigators believe Adams was so obsessed with cleanliness he
- 25:56Speaker 7: picked up the condoms and threw them in the bathroom trash,
- 26:00Speaker 7: a move that got him arrested.
- 26:02Speaker 6: It was the furthest thing from his mind that he
- 26:04Speaker 6: left DNA at the crime scene.
- 26:07Speaker 7: There was other damning evidence presented in the murder trial,
- 26:11Speaker 7: and adam storage locker cops found a virtual arsenal. Ballistics
- 26:16Speaker 7: tests showed one of those guns fired the bullets that
- 26:20Speaker 7: killed Nicole. Described me what it was like seeing him
- 26:23Speaker 7: in court?
- 26:26Speaker 5: Nerve wrecking.
- 26:27Speaker 3: How did you feel terrified?
- 26:31Speaker 10: I made eye contact with him briefly and never again.
- 26:37Speaker 7: Prosecutor said the motive was to prevent Nicole from testifying
- 26:41Speaker 7: against him in the rape and kidnapping case. The first
- 26:45Speaker 7: witness up was Detective Scott Greer, the man who sexted
- 26:49Speaker 7: with Nicole while he was investigating her case. Adam's defense
- 26:54Speaker 7: attorneys tried to poke holes in his testimony. Were you
- 26:58Speaker 7: afraid at that moment when his credibility was called into
- 27:02Speaker 7: question that your case was in trouble.
- 27:05Speaker 6: No, there was so much other good, corroborating evidence.
- 27:09Speaker 7: Evidence from the star witness, Nicole herself, a voice from
- 27:14Speaker 7: the grave.
- 27:15Speaker 4: He's going to kill me. Our fully, the lady's going
- 27:19Speaker 4: to kill me.
- 27:21Speaker 7: That was enough to convince the jury. After less than
- 27:24Speaker 7: two hours, they returned with a verdict guilty of capital murder,
- 27:29Speaker 7: the sentence automatic life without the possibility of parole.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Why do you think Mike killed your mother?
- 27:38Speaker 10: He was rich and he was successful, and she was
- 27:42Speaker 10: the first person that ever.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Said no, what do you want to see happen to Mike.
- 27:47Speaker 10: I've seen cases where prisoners were murder or someone over
- 27:50Speaker 10: that you know, killed them in their cell. I don't
- 27:53Speaker 10: want that to happen to him. I want him to
- 27:56Speaker 10: sit in prison for the rest of his life.
- 28:00Speaker 7: And now this young man has to face the rest
- 28:03Speaker 7: of his life without the mom who sacrificed everything, even
- 28:08Speaker 7: her own life.
- 28:09Speaker 3: For him. Is there anything you do to honor your mom?
- 28:13Speaker 10: Spaghetti every year on her birthday? I always have just
- 28:20Speaker 10: regular spaghetti with meat, sauce and ground beef.
- 28:24Speaker 5: Just that kind of commemorator.
- 28:26Speaker 3: When are the times that you miss her the most?
- 28:28Speaker 5: When I need advice?
- 28:30Speaker 3: You mean like when you need your mom.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Adams is asking for a new trial, saying all
- 28:38Speaker 1: of the evidence gathered from his trunk, including the drug
- 28:40Speaker 1: spaghetti sauce, was obtained illegally. So far that request has
- 28:44Speaker 1: not been granted, and when you look at the evidence,
- 28:47Speaker 1: it's kind of hard.
- 28:47Speaker 5: To believe it ever would or should be.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Coming up.
- 28:53Speaker 1: He was the go to dot for botox injections until
- 28:56Speaker 1: his patients started getting suspicious.
- 28:58Speaker 2: It certainly wasn't botox, or it wasn't dice boorder. Certainly,
- 29:01Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell it was.
- 29:03Speaker 1: The undercover investigation targeting an alleged cosmetic combat Is he
- 29:08Speaker 1: really a doctor? What we uncovered about his past with
- 29:11Speaker 1: a long rap sheet?
- 29:12Speaker 5: What do you think needs to happen?
- 29:13Speaker 3: He should be in prison.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That's next. More than six million botox injections were performed
- 29:21Speaker 1: last year, making it the most common cosmetic procedure in
- 29:24Speaker 1: the country. But what if you found out the doctor
- 29:26Speaker 1: who put that needle in you wasn't a doctor at all. Instead,
- 29:30Speaker 1: he was a convicted felon. We're teaming up with our
- 29:32Speaker 1: affiliate in Phoenix, ABC fifteen for a shocking undercover investigation
- 29:36Speaker 1: about a guy known as doctor Craig. Here's reporter Dave Biscobag.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The guy in the white lab coat calls himself doctor Craig,
- 29:44Speaker 2: and he runs a cosmetic clinic in Tempe, Arizona, selling
- 29:48Speaker 2: youth and making injections. The only problem is he's no doctor.
- 29:54Speaker 2: He stuck neils in you.
- 29:56Speaker 1: He focused in on this side here, and that's when
- 29:59Speaker 1: my face was.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Just Greig Shurf is actually a convicted felon, and he
- 30:05Speaker 2: doesn't have a state license to perform the medical and
- 30:07Speaker 2: cosmetic services he advertises.
- 30:10Speaker 12: I remember looking at all those letters below, going wow,
- 30:13Speaker 12: he should have had bs behind all these letters.
- 30:15Speaker 2: In an exclusive ABC fifteen investigation, I went after the
- 30:19Speaker 2: alleged boatox bamboozler at his offices. We're done with this conversation.
- 30:23Speaker 2: We're not done confronting him about his alleged shady business practices.
- 30:28Speaker 2: We run a legitimate place here, that's it. The door
- 30:31Speaker 2: of the medspot says my laser center. But the reported
- 30:35Speaker 2: doctor impostor has a long list of other names for
- 30:38Speaker 2: his business.
- 30:39Speaker 8: I've been doing reconstart service for a.
- 30:42Speaker 2: While hour well, that is until two producers with hidden
- 30:45Speaker 2: cameras and microphones investigated the alleged cosmetic con man.
- 30:50Speaker 7: You re huh.
- 30:53Speaker 2: The medical clinic builds itself as a one stop shopping hub,
- 30:56Speaker 2: offering a variety of cosmetic procedures like boat tattoo removal
- 31:01Speaker 2: and human growth hormone. At first, it all looks legit.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I want to clean the room, okay.
- 31:07Speaker 2: The producer says she's interested in getting boatox, and sheriff
- 31:11Speaker 2: seems ready to inject her on the spot.
- 31:13Speaker 8: I'm on heavy this person.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Everything right here. I have a question.
- 31:19Speaker 2: After hearing his pitch, Courtney tells the man who calls
- 31:21Speaker 2: himself Doctor Craig she wants to think about it, but
- 31:25Speaker 2: the smooth wannabe doc won't take no for an answer.
- 31:28Speaker 4: I had a couple of girls that they're coming back
- 31:29Speaker 4: for like the third or fourth time.
- 31:31Speaker 8: If you want to sit in and watch them.
- 31:32Speaker 1: They have no problem with people watching because I've done
- 31:35Speaker 1: it before.
- 31:36Speaker 2: It's unusual offers like this that caused people to turn
- 31:39Speaker 2: to ABC fifteen for help. This person who asked us
- 31:42Speaker 2: to obscure their identity met Surf professionally and said he
- 31:46Speaker 2: seemed suspicious.
- 31:50Speaker 8: What if he's freezing needles start to be really dangerous?
- 31:54Speaker 2: Dangerous and it appears the guy is raking it in
- 31:57Speaker 2: check out his deals on group on. He sold hundreds
- 32:00Speaker 2: of coupons recently for expensive injectables like botox and disport.
- 32:04Speaker 7: He makes up a lot of things.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Doctor Craig is no stranger to the law and to
- 32:09Speaker 2: playing doctor. Police detective Lily Durand was part of a
- 32:13Speaker 2: twenty eleven sting operation leading to Shirk's arrest after he
- 32:17Speaker 2: set up a medical marijuana dispensary.
- 32:19Speaker 7: He wore a lab coat he wanted people to believe
- 32:22Speaker 7: that he was a doctor.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Shurf was charged with possession and sale of marijuana. He
- 32:27Speaker 2: pleaded guilty to a pair of felony charges, but was
- 32:30Speaker 2: only sentenced to serve two years of probation and pay
- 32:33Speaker 2: thousands of dollars in restitution. But you gotta hand it
- 32:36Speaker 2: to the guy, he's ambitious. In addition to running the medspot,
- 32:40Speaker 2: he appears to run two coffee shops and a meat market.
- 32:43Speaker 2: But perhaps the biggest shocker is that in the early
- 32:46Speaker 2: nineties he worked as a cop and was canned after
- 32:49Speaker 2: just two years.
- 32:50Speaker 7: You know, our investigation showed that he was lying about
- 32:54Speaker 7: a lot of things.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Now, more alleged victims of Shirt's reported cosmetic scam are
- 32:58Speaker 2: coming forward with their whole stories. Is this the guy?
- 33:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, Client Mario Dela Cassa went in for injections,
- 33:05Speaker 2: but he came out bruised the side of his face swollen.
- 33:09Speaker 2: It certainly wasn't botox, or it wasn't dice boider. Certainly,
- 33:12Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell it was. Mario sent
- 33:14Speaker 2: pictures of his face to Shurf and this is the
- 33:16Speaker 2: email he got back. I've never seen anything like that.
- 33:20Speaker 2: He said.
- 33:20Speaker 1: When you go home, put a vacuum cleaner thing on
- 33:22Speaker 1: your face as well, actual vacuum cleaner, and suck on
- 33:25Speaker 1: your and your skin, pull on your skin because that's
- 33:26Speaker 1: going to create circulation.
- 33:28Speaker 2: To put a vacuum vacuum cleaner on my face. Sharon
- 33:30Speaker 2: Kirby went to doctor Craig for what she thought would
- 33:33Speaker 2: be rejuvenating jabs.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I think it was here, here, here, and then by
- 33:38Speaker 4: my eyes, so eight places.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Looking back, she remembers, the reported fake physician boasted about
- 33:45Speaker 2: his credentials, saying that he was a doctor in Afghanistan,
- 33:48Speaker 2: a Navy seal and studied Eastern medicine.
- 33:51Speaker 3: There was bruises, there was bleeding.
- 33:53Speaker 7: To me, that's he assaulted me.
- 33:55Speaker 2: What do you think needs to happen?
- 33:56Speaker 3: Oh, he should be in prison.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Our undercover visit. I called the office only to be
- 34:02Speaker 2: told doctor Craig is out of town. You're not telling
- 34:06Speaker 2: me the truth. We know he's in today, so we're
- 34:08Speaker 2: gonna come to see him in about fifteen minutes. We're
- 34:10Speaker 2: gonna be walking in his door in about fifteen minutes,
- 34:11Speaker 2: gonna let him know. We see him slinking out the building.
- 34:14Speaker 2: We try to catch him, but he gives us the slip.
- 34:17Speaker 2: You dail better.
- 34:20Speaker 4: What's going up?
- 34:22Speaker 2: Sprinting up the stairs. We turn a corner. There he
- 34:25Speaker 2: is doctor Craig. I think this thing an eighty has
- 34:29Speaker 2: a pull out of other quote. It's not doctor Craig.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Is Craig.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I heard you write doctor Craig on people's business parts.
- 34:36Speaker 2: What did you've hitting, doctor Craig on people's business parts.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what people call me because I'm a laser
- 34:41Speaker 1: tech and that's what I do doing botox.
- 34:43Speaker 8: No, I'm not.
- 34:45Speaker 2: We have undercover video of you doing botox.
- 34:47Speaker 3: That's good.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Where are you getting it from? I'm not getting it
- 34:49Speaker 2: from anywhere.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Well, you're giving it to.
- 34:51Speaker 2: People when we confront him on his non existent medical license.
- 34:55Speaker 2: More lies pour out of his mouth.
- 34:57Speaker 8: I hear laser procedures.
- 34:59Speaker 2: You license you laser? Yeah, not Arizonia or not?
- 35:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we've been licensed. They licensed the machines, and our
- 35:05Speaker 2: machines are licensed. You need to be licensed to do it.
- 35:07Speaker 2: We are come showing me your license.
- 35:09Speaker 12: We don't care.
- 35:10Speaker 1: The license are on state with the states.
- 35:12Speaker 5: They're not.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I checked your name. Here's proof from the state board.
- 35:17Speaker 2: He's not.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Have a nice day.
- 35:19Speaker 10: No, no, no, Doc.
- 35:20Speaker 2: We got talked about this. I'm not treating people. I'm
- 35:22Speaker 2: not stuff you're not allowed to be doing. No, it's dangerous.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I have natural paths that do it, and I have
- 35:26Speaker 1: other doctors that come in.
- 35:28Speaker 2: We run a legitimate place here. That's it. Playing simple
- 35:30Speaker 2: jaman as your medical marijuana club.
- 35:32Speaker 8: We don't have a marijuana club.
- 35:34Speaker 2: You ran when you got busted for doing it, and
- 35:35Speaker 2: you're wrong. You're Unfortunately for the fake doc. This is
- 35:39Speaker 2: the detective who busted him. He had arrested, right.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yes, he did get arrested.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Yes, look this is you, frank shirt. You played nice,
- 35:47Speaker 2: you played guilty. Come on. Since our investigation started, a
- 35:52Speaker 2: lot has changed. Seventeen alleged victims have come forward and
- 35:55Speaker 2: the state Attorney General's office is now investigating. So far,
- 35:58Speaker 2: no charges have been final to the game Surf yet,
- 36:01Speaker 2: But as for his clinic, it's been shut down. A
- 36:03Speaker 2: sign on the door says, in part, the staff of
- 36:06Speaker 2: Miami Clinic has decided to close our doors for good.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Let's hope that's the case and if not, well, doctor
- 36:12Speaker 2: Craig can expect to see us again.
- 36:16Speaker 1: And coming up next, Doctor Oz weighs in on the
- 36:19Speaker 1: so called doctor Craig investigation. He's got a warning for
- 36:23Speaker 1: anyone thinking about getting botox.
- 36:25Speaker 13: If I inject botox to the wrong place, that can
- 36:27Speaker 13: blind you, I can paralyze you. I can leave you
- 36:29Speaker 13: this figure for life.
- 36:31Speaker 1: That's next. This is undercover video of a man known
- 36:38Speaker 1: as doctor Craig allegedly offering treatments like botox and an
- 36:42Speaker 1: Arizona medical clinic. Problem is he isn't licensed and he
- 36:47Speaker 1: isn't a doctor, rather a convicted felon. Now to talk
- 36:51Speaker 1: more about the doctor Craig story, is a real doctor
- 36:54Speaker 1: mehmet Oz, thank you so much for letting us crash
- 36:56Speaker 1: your office. What do people need to know when they
- 36:58Speaker 1: go on to get botox people to find deals, but
- 37:01Speaker 1: that's dangerous sometimes.
- 37:02Speaker 13: But first of all, it's a third the price of
- 37:03Speaker 13: anything you've ever seen in your life. Be aware of
- 37:05Speaker 13: the fact that you get what you pay for. You know,
- 37:07Speaker 13: a little bit of price discrepancy is okay, but the
- 37:09Speaker 13: bigger issues. There are ways for people to check whether
- 37:11Speaker 13: a doctor is legitimately a doctor. State medical boards exist.
- 37:14Speaker 13: You can literally go online see this is a person
- 37:16Speaker 13: really have a board certification? Are they convicted felon? And
- 37:18Speaker 13: they'd lose their license. A lot of times people are
- 37:21Speaker 13: doing procedures like botoxes are so easy to do. They
- 37:23Speaker 13: can go to that technique from any background. If I'm
- 37:26Speaker 13: a psychiatrist, what do I know about botox? So don't
- 37:29Speaker 13: check to make sure that things fit.
- 37:31Speaker 1: What's the danger here? If you get the improper dosing.
- 37:34Speaker 13: When I put a needle under your skin, I can
- 37:35Speaker 13: do devastating damage. If I inject botox in the wrong place,
- 37:38Speaker 13: I can blind you, I can paralyze you, I can
- 37:40Speaker 13: read you disfigured for life. I can affect you and
- 37:43Speaker 13: scar you ways that are unimaginable.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Why would I pay for that?
- 37:46Speaker 5: Right?
- 37:47Speaker 1: Doctor Craig is a convicted film operating an unregulated.
- 37:51Speaker 8: Medicals huge danger.
- 37:52Speaker 13: It's a big blemish I think on the entire profession
- 37:55Speaker 13: of medicine that these medical spas or are unregulated. Some
- 37:57Speaker 13: of them refined with real doctors doing great work. Many
- 38:00Speaker 13: of them are filled with people who can't get jobs elsewhere,
- 38:04Speaker 13: and so they sort of back their way into a
- 38:05Speaker 13: position oftentimes unregulated, yes, but also unlicensed. So it's not
- 38:10Speaker 13: like they bent through all a little. But they literally
- 38:11Speaker 13: have no right to do these things. And remember, if
- 38:14Speaker 13: I take a needle and put it beneath your skin
- 38:16Speaker 13: without a license.
- 38:17Speaker 8: That's called the salt and battery.
- 38:18Speaker 13: I'm not allowed to do that. There's a special covenant
- 38:20Speaker 13: that physicians have with society that allow us to do
- 38:23Speaker 13: these things because ideally we're trained and qualified to do it.
- 38:26Speaker 1: We see botox parties on shows like The Real Housewives.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Do you think sometimes we're too casual about these treatments?
- 38:32Speaker 13: Chris is a beautiful question because it hits everything perfectly
- 38:36Speaker 13: out in the broad daylight. We are trivializing the use
- 38:39Speaker 13: of very dangerous medications, medications which, when used correctly, it
- 38:42Speaker 13: can be used safely in large numbers of people. But
- 38:45Speaker 13: that's why you need a medical license to prescribe and
- 38:47Speaker 13: apply these products. They're not designed to be used by
- 38:50Speaker 13: hacks who happen to find an easy way of making
- 38:52Speaker 13: all extra money.
- 38:53Speaker 8: How pervasive is this problem.
- 38:56Speaker 13: It's much more pervasive than we think because it's completely unregulated.
- 38:58Speaker 13: We're now seeing these events take place in gas stations
- 39:01Speaker 13: and wear gas stations, mall's parking lots, where women, because
- 39:07Speaker 13: they want to look different than they look right now,
- 39:09Speaker 13: are willing to let people do things to them. Probably
- 39:12Speaker 13: somewhere in the back of their mind is a realization
- 39:14Speaker 13: that there's a danger there. Please, let's use your shows
- 39:16Speaker 13: and as an opportunity to broadcast it widely. Be aware,
- 39:19Speaker 13: warm people, and guess what. You catch someone doing this
- 39:21Speaker 13: kind of stuff, call somebody and get some allies in there,
- 39:24Speaker 13: like law enforcement, because they'll shut these guys down like that.
- 39:26Speaker 1: How quickly are these spas or clinics popping up?
- 39:30Speaker 13: Do you ever play the game of whack a mole?
- 39:32Speaker 8: It's like whack a mole.
- 39:33Speaker 13: The problem with these spas is just so easy to
- 39:36Speaker 13: open one that as fast as law enforcement in great
- 39:38Speaker 13: shows like yours can identify these terrible folks and knock
- 39:41Speaker 13: them down, they come back up again. When you go
- 39:43Speaker 13: into a medical clinic, ask a couple basic questions, make
- 39:46Speaker 13: sure they've got a medical license, have them show it
- 39:47Speaker 13: to you and double check that it's true afterwards. And
- 39:49Speaker 13: always always try to stall tiny bit to understand is
- 39:53Speaker 13: that's what's going on around you because your instinct, so
- 39:55Speaker 13: you should be.
- 39:55Speaker 1: On target, Doctor Oz, thank you very much. We'll be
- 39:57Speaker 1: right back in a moment.
- 39:58Speaker 5: Everyone as
