- 0:12Hello, friends, and a happy Friday to you.
- 0:17It is the end of another week. And here we are to celebrate
- 0:22this day with a Sam. I'm Sean.
- 0:25And you have well, you've done well, you've clicked on play and
- 0:30we're going to read one together.
- 0:31We are in a section of the Psalms where they are all for
- 0:35David. And for the next couple of
- 0:37months, they will continue to be.
- 0:39This is a section where scholars believe that these were written
- 0:43by one of David's attendance as we go through The Narrative of
- 0:48Samuel. We see all the things that
- 0:50happened to David in his life and someone has gone through and
- 0:54written Assam actually in chronological order for all of
- 0:58these events that take place Yes, and today this is no
- 1:02different. This is a Sam for David as he is
- 1:05living through his life, people plotting against him and David
- 1:11responding with praise, which is such a David, such a cool thing
- 1:14to do. So join me as we sing this, we
- 1:18don't see. Sorry, don't get your hopes up.
- 1:22We will read together this psalm for the choir director, a Psalm
- 1:26of David, Psalm 64 Oh god.
- 1:40Listen to my complaint, protect my life.
- 1:43From my enemies. Threats.
- 1:45Hide me from the plots of this Evil mob.
- 1:48From The Gangs of wrongdoers. They sharpen their tongues like
- 1:53swords and aim, their bitter words like arrows.
- 1:58They shoot from Ambush at the innocent attacking suddenly and
- 2:02fearlessly They encourage each other to do, evil and plan how
- 2:08to set their traps and secret, who will ever notice.
- 2:12They asked as they plot their crimes, they say we have
- 2:17devised. The perfect plan.
- 2:19Yes. The human heart and mind are
- 2:22cunning But God himself will shoot them with his arrows,
- 2:27suddenly striking them down their own, tongues will ruin
- 2:32them and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
- 2:36Then everyone will be afraid. They will proclaim the mighty
- 2:41acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.
- 2:46The Godly will rejoice in the Lord and find shelter in him.
- 2:52And those who do His right will praise him.
- 3:07Jesus. We are no stranger to Bitter
- 3:09words from others. When we feel others working
- 3:14against us of speaking out against us, it hurts that seems
- 3:21unfair and wrong and often our response is just to be angry and
- 3:27bitter and to harden our hearts against those But soften our
- 3:33hearts. Lord, let us learn from David's
- 3:36example when things go in this unwanted Direction, he turns to
- 3:42you, he rejoices in you, he finds shelter in you Inspire us
- 3:49to do the same. Give us a presence of mind to
- 3:52put down our own sense of justice and to rest in you your
- 3:58love and your Justice. We love you.
- 4:04Father and I are so grateful that it's under your wings that
- 4:08we live in your protection. We pray all of this.
- 4:14In the name of Jesus, who saves us are men.
