- 0:00Good morning, wonderful people. Welcome to doctor-turned-health-coach.
- 0:05My name is Dr. Ashuri, family medicine physician-turned-health-coach.
- 0:10And in today's podcast episode, I wanted to introduce you guys to a new tool on my website.
- 0:18It's a quiz in many ways, and it's called the Healthy Aging Score.
- 0:24So there's a lot of wonderful, great, reputable entities in the world who put
- 0:32out information based on what it means to age healthy, to live well,
- 0:38to feel good, based on choices that people make in their life and what metrics
- 0:44we can monitor to make sure that people are?
- 0:48Getting to a ripe old age without a lot of disease, without a lot of suffering.
- 0:53I mean, that's the goal, right? I mean, we want to live well. We want to feel good.
- 0:57We don't want to be hooked up to IVs. We don't want to be in the hospital.
- 1:00We don't want to be on a ton of medications. We don't want to have to get multiple
- 1:04surgeries. So how do we achieve that?
- 1:07WHO, CDC.
- 1:11NHS, what's called the Medicare entity of Australia, New Zealand,
- 1:16Denmark, all of them collect data, and pretty much all of them have agreed on
- 1:22these 10 to 15 metrics that determine and very well predict how we are going to age as we get older.
- 1:31Now, I took all of this, I took all of this, and put it into one little quiz
- 1:37that you can take, and at the end, it's going to give you essentially a score
- 1:41of how well you're doing.
- 1:43Now, the score is not meant to say whether you're doing good or doing bad.
- 1:48The point of the score is to help you monitor your progress over life.
- 1:53So you take the quiz now in 2025, and then you, based on that quiz,
- 1:59you might be like, okay, well, maybe my nutritional plan could use a little bit of help.
- 2:04Maybe my mental health has room for improvement.
- 2:08And the quiz itself is going to give you lots of great clues as to what changes
- 2:12you can But at the end, it's also going to email you a personalized report.
- 2:18Now, the quiz is going to be live at the end of August. This podcast is probably
- 2:21going to come out a month or two later, have a bunch of podcasts already scheduled.
- 2:25But when it's out, you can hop on my website at drrashori.com forward slash
- 2:31quiz, and you can take that quiz.
- 2:34So what's important generally in our day-to-day lifestyle is what we're eating,
- 2:41how we're connecting with other human beings, how we're managing our stress,
- 2:46how we're sleeping, how much activity we get.
- 2:49But there's also a few what we call biomarkers, blood tests,
- 2:54weight, waist circumference.
- 2:57These are important biomarkers that have really stood the test of time and are
- 3:03predictive in their own right.
- 3:05And so I have those included in the quiz as well. If you have those results,
- 3:09great. If you don't, that's okay. You can still take the quiz without them.
- 3:13And if you put those into the quiz, then you'll have a really great score.
- 3:18And then you can take that quiz again six months later and compare your score.
- 3:23If your score is improving, fantastic.
- 3:26You're on the right track. And just because your score is not great compared
- 3:30to somebody else, it doesn't mean that you're going to have a bad outcome.
- 3:34Always remember that. These are just tools. That's it.
- 3:37And they're tools to help us make the right choices for ourselves.
- 3:42So with that said, thank you so much for listening to this podcast episode.
- 3:47And if you know of somebody who might benefit, please share this with them.
