- 2:19Hello and welcome back to the Elan.
- 2:22Hello and welcome back to the Elon Musk pot.
- 2:25I'm your host will Walden now, this episode, we're going to
- 2:29take a little bit into the recent video from SpaceX.
- 2:35This is the Starship, launch animation video that they posted
- 2:40on there SpaceX Channel on YouTube.
- 2:44Now, this video is now unlisted and it shows Starship super
- 2:50heavy launching from south Texas.
- 2:53Now in this video, It kind of shows that SpaceX has huge plans
- 3:00for South Texas for the Boca Chica site.
- 3:03Right now, the Mark 1 star ship is being prototype there in
- 3:08basically a vacant lot. What the cool thing about space
- 3:12sex in the cool thing about Starship is that it's made of
- 3:16steel and with steel, you don't need, you don't need high-end
- 3:23facilities to make steel. Structures right?
- 3:28You don't need a crazy Factory and you don't need to build it
- 3:32indoors. Elon Musk said in his latest
- 3:36presentation for Starship that they basically built it in a
- 3:38parking lot. And steel is really great for
- 3:44living up. You know, living through harsh,
- 3:46winter, weather conditions, unlike something synthetic or,
- 3:51you know, some other material like carbon fiber.
- 3:55So what this video shows is Starship launching from the
- 3:59South Texas facility, the Boca Chica facility and then Starship
- 4:05superheavy. I should say super heavy and
- 4:07Starship on top of the bfr launch into space.
- 4:12The rocket comes back, Andre fuels at the SpaceX facility in
- 4:19south Texas. Now Starship is in space at this
- 4:23point, right? So it's orbiting the Earth, it's
- 4:27in low earth orbit, and when it's orbiting the Earth, there's
- 4:31another refueling, Starship that connects with the first star
- 4:36ship in orbit, that will refuel We're fuel up.
- 4:41I should say the initial star ship in orbit.
- 4:47So that fuel tanker also comes back down to earth in lands,
- 4:53probably in South Texas, Boca Chica a.
- 4:56So SpaceX is planning on making South Texas kind of a
- 5:01multiplanetary hub. Now, how cool is that?
- 5:06That just, it's basically in the middle of a warehouse facility
- 5:11like an empty parking lot and now they want to make one of the
- 5:15most amazing things that Humanity has ever seen a
- 5:20multiplanetary rocket at that facility and launch at that
- 5:26facility. And also launch people thousands
- 5:30of people, hundreds of people are 100 people at a time can fit
- 5:33in a star. I ship, so 100 people launching
- 5:37from South, Texas from Boca Chica into space.
- 5:41Now, this is pretty cool in this was basically Boca Chica, was
- 5:45kind of like a really low-key. It's not really much going on.
- 5:51Very rural kind of areas, kind of a vacation e spot because
- 5:56there's water nearby. There's a beach nearby.
- 5:59But SpaceX was like, hey, this is a pretty cool spot.
- 6:03Let's make a facility so we can make Starship here so they did.
- 6:09So that's the plan for Starship going forward.
- 6:12That's the plan for Boca Chica, going forward.
- 6:14Everybody thought, you know, for longest time, this SpaceX would
- 6:18use the NASA facilities in Florida because while those
- 6:21facilities are full-scale rocket launch facilities, but SpaceX
- 6:27likes to go lean, you know what I'm saying?
- 6:29They don't really like to to have a lot of Pomp and
- 6:33Circumstance around there launches other than of course
- 6:36they show it to everybody but they don't need a really amazing
- 6:40amazing facility. They don't need to use the NASA
- 6:44facilities to do these things. If you think about it, it's
- 6:48basically a destination, it's like an airport.
- 6:50You won't need all of the NASA facilities in order to launch
- 6:55these people into space. Ace.
- 6:57So you could, you could be bust out, you can be, you know, you
- 7:01can park in the parking lot, jump in a Starship and hey I'm
- 7:04going to Mars today. See you later guys.
- 7:06At this book, a chica facility. That's the plan in the future,
- 7:10you know. Now, if that's going to be
- 7:14realistic, we'll find out in the next you know, couple years
- 7:19because SpaceX will be testing, mark, one in the next couple
- 7:24weeks at Boca Chica. Mark 2 will testing in Florida
- 7:28and then Mark 3, they'll be testing, we're not exactly sure
- 7:31yet but In the next probably year, we'll be seeing Starship
- 7:39in orbit, within the next year, within the six months, six
- 7:43month, period. That's what I'm assuming Elon
- 7:48Musk. Has very, very ambitious goals
- 7:51for Starship and he wants to get it up there as soon as possible
- 7:54but they have to do the tests first.
- 7:55They have to make sure that everything goes well and Jim
- 7:58bridenstine who's the head of NASA in a recent interview with
- 8:02with Elon Musk in some NASA. Astronauts basically said, he
- 8:07likes the way that Elon Musk and SpaceX do things because it's
- 8:10like launch a thing, it might break.
- 8:14And if it does iterate make it better and then launch it,
- 8:18again, it's kind of like the software business, you know, you
- 8:23add a lot of you, add your code, you release something, and if
- 8:26it's broken, yet Patch It Up not a big deal, right?
- 8:30And that's what SpaceX kind of does in a very, very broad
- 8:33sense. To their to their space program.
- 8:37So my friends I want to say thank you to everybody who's
- 8:40been listening to the show. I appreciate it.
