  Today, May 21st, plans, promises, and peace.

  Have you ever had a plan you were genuinely excited about
• 0:16
  completely fall apart? You mapped everything out, you
• 0:20
  did your part, you thought you had it figured out, and then
• 0:23
  life went a completely different direction.
• 0:26
  Maybe it was a friendship that didn't work out the way you
• 0:29
  hoped, or a goal you worked towards that didn't come
• 0:32
  through. That feeling of watching your
• 0:35
  carefully built plan unravel is one of the most unsettling
• 0:38
  things we experience. Proverbs chapter 16, verse 9
• 0:43
  speaks right into that moment. The heart of man plans his way,
• 0:47
  but the Lord establishes his steps.
• 0:49
  There's something both humbling and deeply comforting about that
• 0:52
  verse. Humbling because it reminds us
• 0:56
  we are not the ones ultimately in control.
• 0:58
  Comforting because it means the one who is in control actually
• 1:02
  knows where you're going, even when you don't.
• 1:05
  Your detours are not surprises to God.
• 1:08
  Your setbacks are not miscalculations on His end.
• 1:11
  He is establishing your steps, even the ones that feel like
• 1:14
  they're going backward. Psalm 57, verse 11 breaks out
• 1:19
  into worship in the middle of everything.
• 1:21
  Be exalted. Oh, God above the heavens, let
• 1:25
  your glory be over all the earth.
• 1:27
  And here's what's worth noticing.
• 1:29
  The psalmist wrote this from a place of real danger and
• 1:32
  uncertainty. He wasn't sitting comfortably
• 1:35
  when he penned these words. He was in the middle of
• 1:38
  difficulty, choosing to lift God higher than his circumstances.
• 1:42
  That's a powerful posture. When your plans fall apart, the
• 1:46
  natural instinct is to panic, to scramble, to try to regain
• 1:50
  control. But the psalmist shows us a
• 1:53
  different response. Exalt God.
• 1:55
  Put Him above the chaos. Let His glory be bigger in your
• 1:59
  mind than your current problem. That's not denial, that's faith.
• 2:04
  And then Second Corinthians chapter 13, verse 5 brings in a
• 2:08
  different kind of challenge, an inward one.
• 2:11
  Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith
• 2:14
  test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about
• 2:17
  yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?
• 2:21
  This verse invites you to stop for a moment and actually check
• 2:24
  in, not just with your circumstances, but with your
• 2:27
  soul. Are you genuinely walking in
• 2:30
  faith, or have you been going through the motions?
• 2:33
  Is your relationship with God something real and alive, or has
• 2:36
  it become background noise in your busy life?
• 2:40
  That's not meant to be a guilt trip.
• 2:42
  It's actually an invitation to something better.
• 2:45
  Because if Jesus Christ is truly in you, and He is, if you've
• 2:49
  placed your faith in Him, then you have access to a peace and a
• 2:53
  steadiness that doesn't depend on your plans working out.
• 2:57
  You have a foundation that doesn't shift when life does.
• 3:01
  So here's the honest question for today.
• 3:03
  Are you trusting God with your actual plans, or are you just
• 3:06
  hoping He blesses the ones you've already decided on?
• 3:09
  There's a difference. One is partnership, the other is
• 3:13
  using God as a good luck charm. Real trust looks like holding
• 3:18
  your goals and dreams with open hands, bringing them to God,
• 3:22
  doing your faithful best and releasing the outcome to Him,
• 3:27
  knowing His version of your story is better than the one
• 3:29
  you'd write yourself. The peace that comes from that
• 3:32
  kind of trust is not passive. It's not giving up or not
• 3:36
  caring. It's an active, daily choice to
• 3:38
  believe that God's plan, even when you can't see it, is good,
• 3:43
  and that makes all the difference.
• 3:45
  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for
• 3:48
  guiding my steps even when my plans go sideways.
• 3:51
  Help me to hold my dreams and goals with open hands, trusting
• 3:55
  that your direction is better than my own.
• 3:58
  When I'm tempted to panic or control everything, remind me to
• 4:02
  lift You above my circumstances and rest in the fact that You
• 4:05
  are establishing my path. And God help me to be honest
• 4:10
  when I examine my own heart to not just go through the motions,
• 4:13
  but to walk with you in real living faith in Jesus name,
• 4:17
  Amen. What if the battles hitting your
• 4:20
  family are not random and your home can become a place where

  darkness loses every right to stay?

  you are in the faith, test your own selves or don't you know

  indeed you are disqualified. But I hope that you will know

  that we aren't disqualified. Now I pray to God that you do no

  evil, not that we may appear approved, but that you may do
• 11:18
  that which is honorable, though we are as reprobate.

  For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
• 11:26
  For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong.
• 11:28
  We also pray for this. You're becoming perfect for this
• 11:32
  'cause I write these things while absent, that I may not
• 11:36
  deal sharply when present, according to the authority which
• 11:39
  the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

  Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be
• 11:47
  of the same mind, Live in peace, and the God of love and peace
• 11:51
  will be with you. Greet one another with a holy
• 11:53
