- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Hey everyone,
- 1:02it's Catherine Crestani with another episode of Willow Healing
- 1:05Matters and today
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: I'm joined by the lovely Dana Wilder.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: She is an energy healing practitioner,
- 1:11author and guide devoted to helping people reconnect with their
- 1:14bodies and
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: rediscover their innate capacity for healing.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: After years of living in a state of disconnection shaped by trauma,
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation,
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis,
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: a moment that became not an ending but an awakening.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Unwilling to accept a life defined solely by symptoms or limitations,
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: she began a deep exploration into the mind-body connection,
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: subtle energy and ancient healing systems.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Through this journey,
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: she discovered the profound wisdom of the five koshas,
- 1:42the layers of the human experience described in yogic
- 1:44philosophy and began to
- 1:46understand that true healing must occur not just in the
- 1:48physical body but across
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: the energetic,
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: emotional,
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: mental and spiritual dimensions of being.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Her work now blends modern neuroscience,
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: frequency and sound healing,
- 1:58somatic awareness and biofield tuning with Eastern and Western
- 2:01wisdom traditions.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: She draws inspiration from pioneers in the fields of longevity,
- 2:06nervous system regulation and consciousness studies while
- 2:09grounding her approach in
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: lived experience,
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: intuition and compassion.
- 2:12Dana Wilder is the author of an upcoming book that shares both
- 2:16her deeply personal
- 2:17story and the practical integrated tools she used to change her
- 2:20relationship with
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: her body and her diagnosis.
- 2:23Her message is not about fixing what is broken but about
- 2:26restoring communication
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: between the body,
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: mind and soul.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And through private sessions,
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: group soundbars,
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: healing circles and online teachings,
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: she empowers others to shift from fear into curiosity,
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: from resistance into listening and from survival into wholeness.
- 2:40Her work is an invitation to soften,
- 2:42to reconnect and to awaken the healer within.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: So a big welcome to the show, Dana.
- 2:48Thank you so much Catherine for having me here and thank you
- 2:50for making a space
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: like this because we need more of this in the world right now.
- 2:54I know with my MS diagnosis it was so much fear in the
- 2:57beginning so to have places
- 2:58like this where we can talk about alternative things and safer
- 3:02things and just be
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: curious it's so welcome so thank you for making this space.
- 3:06Oh you're so welcome and this is why I made this space because
- 3:09a lot of people
- 3:10don't realize that sometimes when they get a diagnosis or
- 3:14they're in a certain spot
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: in their life that there are alternative
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: options available.
- 3:19And there are people with amazing stories and journeys to show
- 3:23that you don't
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: always have to go the mainstream route if you don't feel to.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:28And I think that's really important because the label and the
- 3:31diagnosis is pretty scary.
- 3:32And especially,
- 3:33you know,
- 3:33you go to Dr.
- 3:34Google after and you get just the worst case scenarios.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: And we already kind of were programmed with this negativity bias,
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: which is good for survival,
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: but not really for happiness and definitely not a place for healing.
- 3:46So it is way better to look at like the spontaneous healing and
- 3:50the people who walk
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: this path already ahead of you and all the things that were possible.
- 3:56Because I know I'd rather soak myself in that experience and
- 4:00that energy than the
- 4:01one that's doom and gloom that the doctor gave me when I got
- 4:04diagnosed 20 years
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: ago.
- 4:06Yeah and I can imagine getting 20 years ago getting that
- 4:09diagnosis of multiple
- 4:11sclerosis where there wasn't as much information around right
- 4:14it wasn't as much as
- 4:15our fingertips and you couldn't just use AI or chat GPT as well
- 4:19you know to get
- 4:21that more information you had to would have had to go on quite
- 4:24a deep dive to
- 4:24actually find that and allow yourself the I guess allow
- 4:29yourself the courage to
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: explore something different too.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, my doctor, like in Canada, we have very long wait times.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So I think one of the that actually kind of worked to my advantage,
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: though,
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: because I already figured like I self-diagnosed the MS.
- 4:44I had done like brain and behavior courses and I kind of
- 4:46figured that was already what it was.
- 4:48And then an optometrist was the one that looked into my eye
- 4:51because I had lost
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: vision in one eye and said,
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: yes,
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: have you thought of MS?
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Because my optic nerve was pale.
- 4:57So by the time 18 months later and I went and my MRI came and I
- 5:01went to meet the MS
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: doctor and got the diagnosis,
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: I already knew that I didn't believe that it was incurable.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: And I knew that they said to me, no, you know, it's incurable.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It's progressive.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: It's going to get worse.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: You'll probably be in a wheelchair in 10 years.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: So keep benefits and have someone to look after you.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Here's some really dangerous meds.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Go home.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Good luck.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And I right then knew like, no way, that's not my story because
- 5:24I am like a guinea pig and a trailblazer and a risk taker and I
- 5:28always was curious
- 5:29and I was always open to other things and also you know a
- 5:32little jaded already
- 5:33about the medical system through watching my dad who was also
- 5:36had an autoimmune
- 5:37disease but unfortunately hit the beginning of the opioid
- 5:41crisis before they knew
- 5:43the consequence of what that would do if you took that
- 5:45medication trusting your
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: doctor.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I knew that that wasn't going to be the path.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And honestly, my 10 year anniversary with my MS, I ran a triathlon.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: So,
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: I think that that little bit of,
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: kind of screw you to the doctor in the beginning really helped me.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And it pushed me to look for other things.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I found them and they worked for a long time.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: So for the first, you know, 10, 15 years of the MS, I was doing OK still.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: But the last five years, like six years ago, I had a major relapse where
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: All systems kind of down.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: One morning I wake up, I can't walk.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Then two weeks later, I can't see.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Two weeks later, I can't use my arms.
- 6:24Then my trunk went,
- 6:25so now I can't even sit up and I need full care by people.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: And I hadn't really respected the MS before that,
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: but wow,
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: that was like a real awakening as to what this disease could look like.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: And I wasn't managing my emotions around that time.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: So I kind of already knew what that relapse was happening.
- 6:42I'm like,
- 6:43yeah,
- 6:43I,
- 6:44even though I knew better,
- 6:45I wasn't living what I knew.
- 6:47And I let myself kind of get into the chaos of life and the
- 6:50relapse naturally followed.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And so I did know all the steps I was going to need to kind of heal.
- 6:55But I had to go way deeper this time because this wasn't just
- 6:58about maintaining
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: health or kind of,
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: some managed symptom management.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: This was like rebuilding my entire body.
- 7:06So this time I had to go way deeper and I developed so many new
- 7:08modalities.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: and Healing Methods.
- 7:11And I had made a promise in that darkest moment when I was
- 7:14crawling that if God
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: would give me the answers to what it took to heal,
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: that I would heal other people.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: So this is me now making good on that promise.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: That is such a beautiful promise to make.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: But also sometimes,
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: I found that the universe will make us have those moments where,
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: like you said,
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: you knew better,
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: but at the same time you push it to the side and you ignore it.
- 7:40and it's then that all of it kind of flourishes and comes back
- 7:44up but you can you
- 7:45have a choice in that moment right you can choose to give up or
- 7:48you can ask for
- 7:50divine intervention and for assistance and miracles do happen
- 7:54like you know all the
- 7:55time but it's to have the courage to ask and look deeper and
- 7:59like you said you knew
- 8:00you had to go deeper this time you couldn't just put a band-aid
- 8:04over and go yep
- 8:05I've got this now I've dealt with it on the surface level it'll
- 8:08be fine and
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: I always say that sometimes when we go that deeper,
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: it's the universe saying,
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: no,
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: you miss the bigger thing underneath.
- 8:16You need to come back to that because that is why your soul has
- 8:19decided to express
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: itself this way.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, what are you missing in your life?
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: I believe that same thing that the energy,
- 8:30the patterns in your life show you what lessons you need to
- 8:33learn and you haven't
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: learned yet.
- 8:35And the universe will always give you another opportunity if
- 8:37you didn't get it
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: right the first time.
- 8:39and if you don't get it right this time you're probably going
- 8:41to get it again still
- 8:42maybe hopefully I think I can course correct quicker now so
- 8:47it's not still that my
- 8:48triggers don't kind of hit sometimes but once you see it
- 8:52happening once you're
- 8:53aware of your energetic patterns and the story of your life
- 8:56it's hopefully gets
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: easier to get yourself back on track and
- 9:00I actually use the MS now as a barometer so I don't even really
- 9:03fight against it
- 9:04anymore I mean if the symptoms come back I know immediately
- 9:08that I've gone off path
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So this is now the universe saying to me, no, you're straying again.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: That's why the symptoms are returning.
- 9:16So instead of catastrophizing that and getting really stressed
- 9:19out like I would
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: have years ago,
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: I'm like,
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: oh,
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: relapse is happening.
- 9:22Oh,
- 9:22maybe I should have took the meds or maybe I should have done
- 9:25this or maybe this or that.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I spiral.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Now I just say to myself, okay,
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe that thing you said yes to, you should have said no.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: Maybe somebody else's drama you took on wasn't yours.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Give it back.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe, you know, take some more time, work a little less, right?
- 9:41Like there are so many things now and it's just so much easier
- 9:43for me instead of
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: like spinning out to just immediately say,
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: I need to change something.
- 9:48And your body will respond when you actually start listening to
- 9:52it and make space
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: for it to communicate to you because that's what all those symptoms are.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: They're not punishment.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: It is communication.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Like your mind thinks in language.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Your body is in sensation, emotion and pain and discomfort sometimes.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: It's nice feelings too.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: It's not all negative.
- 10:08Your body's not just giving you bad stuff,
- 10:09but usually that's the ones we're trying to avoid.
- 10:12And we stuff them down and we take an Advil or we take
- 10:15medication or we...
- 10:18Yeah and even we use that food like we don't even listen to
- 10:21those basic symptoms of
- 10:23hunger a lot of us will just keep eating or snacking when we're
- 10:26not hungry or these
- 10:28are all just ways we're just suppressing all of those emotions
- 10:32signals and
- 10:33experiences and like you said then you repeat them again life
- 10:37will bring it back to
- 10:38you Yeah and I love that you brought up that you've now kind of
- 10:42befriended your
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: symptoms right it's not something to fear it's like a um
- 10:48thermometer almost you know like wow like we're getting too hot
- 10:51in this situation
- 10:52you gotta back off and about a year ago it was just a bit over
- 10:57a year ago I started
- 10:58going numb so I started losing feeling in my my pinky and it
- 11:04ended up being half my
- 11:05face and every day I was waking up and I heard you're heading
- 11:08for an autoimmune
- 11:09you're heading for an autoimmune and I'm very intuitive and I
- 11:12knew like my system
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: was kind of fried and everyone I would go to my team
- 11:17so I have chiropractors I have biofield tuners I have you know
- 11:20I go to my support
- 11:21team and that would shift for a few days and come back and it
- 11:24was finally when I
- 11:25met with these this beautiful healing couple and they went
- 11:28Catherine you know this
- 11:30until you address the underlying cause of the numbness
- 11:35nothing's going to shift
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: permanently it'll go but it'll come back and and I I
- 11:42and I knew straight away I'm like oh my goodness I'm numbing
- 11:44myself to go to work
- 11:46because I didn't want to be in that role anymore so I was
- 11:49actually numbing my
- 11:50system to go and I was holding out for our house to sell which
- 11:55funnily enough it's
- 11:56been over a year and that still hasn't happened so I wouldn't
- 11:59have lasted but I was
- 12:00meditating with my coach at the time and my heart he's like
- 12:04what is your heart
- 12:04telling you to do and I said quit and it was like this
- 12:07non-negotiable and I knew
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Dana at that moment if I didn't quit my job
- 12:12that was it that was my final warning I was going to tip over
- 12:15and then go into who
- 12:16knows what journey after that and I know like how hard it is
- 12:20once you get into that
- 12:21autoimmune diagnosis how hard it is to pull back from that so
- 12:25my guides were like
- 12:25this is it you know make your choice so I did I quit my job and
- 12:30the first day I was
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: stay at home mum my main role every single symptom disappeared
- 12:35and it's funny because whenever I feel that stress coming back
- 12:38or I'm taking on too
- 12:39much exactly like you said the numbness starts to to creep back
- 12:42in and then I go
- 12:44okay you know but first of all I check is this mine or is this
- 12:47someone else's
- 12:47because sometimes I'm working with clients I'm like no no
- 12:50that's theirs okay great
- 12:51thank you for the distinction but if it's me then I'm like okay
- 12:55where am I not
- 12:56listening you know where am I pushing too hard you know and and
- 13:00then like you said
- 13:01your body gives you the signal so you can get that feedback so
- 13:04you can bring that
- 13:05temperature back down so it's more tolerable but not even
- 13:09tolerable it's just you
- 13:10come back into alignment and you allow yourself to be who you
- 13:13need to be rather
- 13:14than pushing pushing pushing for whatever reason yeah I had a
- 13:18similar experience
- 13:19like that relapse happened and that was right around COVID time
- 13:24and so I just
- 13:25started working from home and I already did not like my job I
- 13:28already didn't feel
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: aligned with it I
- 13:30was working in insurance which was not at all it's like I'm
- 13:34arguing with people on
- 13:35the phone to support a company's opinion which I don't hold
- 13:37myself but you're
- 13:38getting paid to do it so you're you know and I'm working for
- 13:41the 1% in the world
- 13:42and I'm watching you know like I'm dealing with people that
- 13:45have art collections on
- 13:47their yacht and I'm worrying about how can I insure this while
- 13:50they travel the
- 13:50globe and then I'm stepping outside to walk over people on
- 13:54sewer grates outside so
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: now I come home from that job because we're all locked down and
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I'm homeschooling my kids at the same time.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: So I'm working at home.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I'm homeschooling.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: It's so stressful.
- 14:06And the whole time I'm hating my company and hating the job and
- 14:09they're pressuring me.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: And I think that that was when my body too just started saying like,
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: we're going to make it so that you can't work anymore.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: So if I had listened,
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: I think that first time where just my legs weren't working,
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: I woke up and I couldn't walk.
- 14:22Maybe it would have stopped there,
- 14:23but I am so stubborn and I didn't listen.
- 14:27I put my numb legs and with my hands under my desk and
- 14:30continued to type and then
- 14:32it was now it became my eyes and my hands and I'm like well now
- 14:35I can't even I
- 14:36couldn't even force this if I wanted life has said full stop
- 14:40you are not doing this
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: job anymore
- 14:42And I think that you could see that as a punishment in life and
- 14:46get really angry about it.
- 14:47And then,
- 14:48you know,
- 14:48that depression could spirally you into more sickness.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: But to me, I knew right then that this is a catalyst for change.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: And it's unfortunate that some of us need such a loud signal.
- 14:58And maybe if I had to listen to my body whispered,
- 15:01maybe things would have been easier.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: But my life, I do everything big.
- 15:06So the happy times are big the hard ones are big too so this is
- 15:10just one of those
- 15:10moments where my body really did start screaming and said like
- 15:14I demand that you
- 15:15listen now It's so interesting because I had someone tell me a
- 15:20couple months ago
- 15:21stop using your body as a punching bag and I went thank you
- 15:25because I was like my
- 15:27body would I'd always let it get to the point that my body was
- 15:30expressing what was
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: happening and
- 15:32Rather than stopping it before that point and listening to the
- 15:35feeling before it
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: got to the body,
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: and learning to shift that has been a big journey because it is big.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: we're so conditioned to push our emotions down,
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: to not pay attention to them,
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: to use your head over your heart,
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: which is so the opposite of how our body actually works.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I feel like if I had have set a mental boundary,
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: then my body wouldn't have had to do it for me.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: And I mean,
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: there is with MS,
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: a personality kind of trait of people share when they have MS,
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: which tends to
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: to be like A-type personalities, doers, perfectionists.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Maybe even,
- 16:15I don't want to be insulting to other people that maybe have
- 16:17autoimmune disease,
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: but I'm talking about myself here too.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: A little bit of like judgmental,
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: like a lot of expectations,
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: a lot of pressure on everything,
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: right?
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Everything always has to be perfect.
- 16:26And this feeling of if I'm not doing something or achieving
- 16:29something,
- 16:29I'm not worthwhile.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: And I think that my mind never gave me the safety to say,
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Oh,
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: it's okay to say no or to put up a boundary or to say like,
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: I'm too tired to do that or no,
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I can't sign up.
- 16:42I can't bake more cookies for the class tomorrow when I'm
- 16:44working right now or I'm
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: doing other things,
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: right?
- 16:47And so I think because my mind didn't set the boundary,
- 16:50my body did it for me.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And because now nobody possibly is going to say,
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: well,
- 16:54I'm disappointed with you because you couldn't do this thing
- 16:57because you're like,
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: well,
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: I have MS.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Well, no, because of my MS. Like, no, I can't do that thing now.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I can't host again.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: No, I can't help you move now.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: I can't do all of these things.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: It's not me.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: It's my MS. And that felt like a safer excuse maybe.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: And,
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 17:13I'm not saying that people make this stuff up on purpose
- 17:15because certainly I wasn't
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: thinking this consciously.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: But when you look back and you unpack some of these patterns...
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: It starts to almost become obvious that,
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: yeah,
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: if I had have maybe made some better boundaries,
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: my body wouldn't have had to do it for me.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: And,
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: people that have pain or even when you get a migraine,
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: a lot of times it can be this where,
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: maybe you just really if you had just said,
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: I'm tired,
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I don't want to cook tonight.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: You guys figure out dinner or order out.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: I'm tired.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: I went and laid down.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Maybe you wouldn't have got the migraine that made you go lie down.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't know that for sure.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: There's physical traumas to the body too.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: There is toxins, there's nutrient deficiencies.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: For sure, there's things come from the body.
- 17:56But I honestly,
- 17:56I believe a lot of it stems from the emotions and your thought
- 18:00loops.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: And I tell people if they're curious...
- 18:03or they're like a pain comes out of nowhere like oh my shoulder
- 18:06really hurts all of
- 18:07a sudden but you haven't done anything to it like you weren't
- 18:10playing tennis or you
- 18:11didn't fall or any even if you were playing tennis you can
- 18:15still be curious right
- 18:16and I say just go on to google this thing that we have these
- 18:19days and type
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: spiritual meaning of right shoulder pain or of you know uh
- 18:26dumbness in left leg see what comes up and I can guarantee you
- 18:3090% of the time it
- 18:32will be exactly what's happening on the emotional front in your
- 18:35life and this is
- 18:36where you know that there's that bridge where our body is an
- 18:39invitation to go
- 18:40deeper and like all the work that you do regulate your nervous
- 18:43system come back to
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: the emotions and how can you shift things
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: on all levels rather than just addressing the physical.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: The physical is the last expression,
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 18:52whereas there's a lot going on underneath before it gets to
- 18:56that physical point.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: And,
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 18:58I always think that the physical body is kind of like a paradox
- 19:02to me because your
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: physical body is illusionary.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Really,
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: it is being created upstream by the spirit,
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: by the mind,
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: by the emotions,
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: the energy field oscillating,
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: which is not the body is downstream.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: But the body also is so we're so stuck in that illusion of it.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: If we get the physical body wrong, the end result is dis-ease or death.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: So it feels like it's consequential and it's the most important part.
- 19:30but really it's not where the problems originate from and it's
- 19:33not where we mostly
- 19:34solve them and this is why I love the kosha model because it
- 19:38did match how my own
- 19:39healing did progress but it does look at these concentric
- 19:42layers so the body being
- 19:43the gross physical part and when you go inside you have the
- 19:46energy body and that's
- 19:48like the animating force so whether that's like prana or chi so
- 19:51we can think of
- 19:52terms like acupuncture chakras the nadis this is a thing that
- 19:56animates the body and
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: gives it its vitality and its life
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 20:00the energy is what is going to be required to do the
- 20:03biochemistry of the body,
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: to do the machinery of the body.
- 20:08But even inside of that,
- 20:09you have this finer layer,
- 20:11more subtle layer of the mental body.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: And the mental body is now informing.
- 20:16It's the information that's telling the energy what to do,
- 20:20the biochemistry in the body.
- 20:22And we see this even like when we think of terms like not so
- 20:24esoteric now,
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: but just in like neuroscience that,
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: we when we have a belief in the brain,
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: then that belief gives us a view of the paradigm of the world.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: So when external events happen to us,
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: we think about them a certain way,
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: we give meaning to them.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: That creates an emotion.
- 20:40The emotion then creates through our limbic system
- 20:43neurotransmitters and hormones.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: And that bays our body either in stress hormones or healing hormones.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: And that affects your nervous system.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, we see how these things are all layered.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: But I go even further in the kosha model and,
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 20:58looking at yoga and a little bit more spiritual that even above
- 21:02just that mental
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: landscape,
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: which is creating the emotions,
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Where is the wisdom,
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: where is the discernment,
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: the intuition,
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: the instinct,
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: that sort of like part of you that didn't need all the data,
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: didn't need to read more books,
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: it didn't need more information,
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: it needed to like come from inside of you,
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: like an understanding that you just knew,
- 21:22like truths that just kind of land without someone needing to
- 21:24explain it to you.
- 21:26and then even above that is like this bliss body and when you
- 21:29get the bliss body
- 21:30right and that's the overarching architect that's what we're
- 21:34talking about this
- 21:34purpose like you said in the beginning like the energy patterns
- 21:38that keep coming
- 21:39back again and again because you kind of agreed that this is
- 21:41what you were doing
- 21:42this time around well your bliss body or that purpose the soul
- 21:46knows what you
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: needed to do
- 21:48And when you're in alignment with that and when that is the top
- 21:52thing and it's
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: harmonized and it's got vibrating at a beautiful coherent frequency,
- 21:57the physical body doesn't matter as much because the physical
- 22:01body can make
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: mistakes.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Like if you eat gluten or you had some alcohol or something happened,
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: you're probably not going to get sick from it because your bliss,
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: your purpose,
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: your alignment was shining and beautiful and coherent.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: But if the top parts of you are falling apart too,
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And you're not aligned,
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: you're not intuitive,
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: you're not listening,
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: you're not connected,
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: then all of a sudden the body only matters.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And now you better get the body right.
- 22:27Now you need to do the diets and the exercise and all of the
- 22:30right things because
- 22:31you only are living in that physical body and so you have to
- 22:35maintain this tight
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: rigid structure to get it right.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: But that structure then makes you anxious and puts you on hypervigilance,
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: which makes your nervous system and all of your mindscape more toxic.
- 22:50And so it keeps you in this loop of always needing to be
- 22:55perfect and to be working
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: on something and striving.
- 22:58If we just learned how to get a little bit more to that top
- 23:01layer and just be happy
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: and stop pushing so hard,
- 23:05and just align to what is and just be okay with ourselves and
- 23:10with life and go in
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: the flow a little bit more.
- 23:13I think we have more wiggle room and grace and then the
- 23:16physical body stops being
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: so consequential.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah,
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: this has been a big lesson I've had to learn because my background's in
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: speech-language pathology,
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: but I built businesses as well.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: But I was so guilty of pushing, pushing, pushing, pushing, pushing.
- 23:31And even when I've still been unlearning that because it's this
- 23:35hustle culture that
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: we've been brought up in where we're like,
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: no,
- 23:40you have to be working a nine-to-five and then we've got all
- 23:42our money stories.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Like for me, I had to unpack, you have to work hard for your money.
- 23:47It's like no when you're in alignment it just flows in you know
- 23:50and even at the
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: start of this year
- 23:53I was journaling and I wrote down why don't I have any clients
- 23:58and what I wrote
- 23:59back was I don't want any because what I was like actually no I
- 24:03don't want any
- 24:04because I was focusing on finishing my book I was doing my
- 24:07podcast I had a lot
- 24:08going on my body was like we can't take clients on as well this
- 24:13is too much and
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: then about two weeks ago I was in this energetic sales workshop
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: And I sat there and I'm like, you know what?
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: I think I'm ready to have clients again.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: And I kid you not,
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Dana,
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: within the hour,
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: all of a sudden,
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: all these like phone calls were coming through on the place I work for.
- 24:30And then all these these clients were reaching out who wanted
- 24:33me to do sessions and things.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: And I was like, wow.
- 24:36Thank you and last week was such a big week and then I got to
- 24:40Sunday and I was just
- 24:41I crashed out and my husband's like why are you so tired you
- 24:44slept really well I
- 24:45said I am just energetically done at the moment like I just
- 24:49need this day to do
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: nothing like
- 24:51I was like right I've still got interviews I've still got
- 25:04podcasts this week I need
- 25:05to back off a little bit and then sure enough we've had a
- 25:09cancellation can you be
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: on this panel and normally I would say yes I'm like no
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: no no exactly like you said sometimes you have to know where to put those
- 25:18boundaries before you push yourself too far because the old me
- 25:21would have gone oh
- 25:22yeah I'm more than happy to help of course I'll come on and
- 25:26then the new me was
- 25:26like nah I've got too much on like I just nah nah nah just not
- 25:31doing it I just want
- 25:32that time to be with my son or just want that time to be you
- 25:36know just to be and
- 25:37that's that distinction and you know that you've grown and you
- 25:40know that you've
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: shifted because
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: You're not suddenly living to everyone else's expectations.
- 25:46You're creating your own from within you,
- 25:48like you said,
- 25:48from that bliss point.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: And it's not about, you know, because happiness is a state of peace.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: A lot of us just think happiness is the euphoric part all the time,
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: but you can't be like that all the time because life is ups and downs.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: You never get the highs without the lows.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: you have to understand that there's a balance there,
- 26:07but it's can you come back quicker to your natural state that
- 26:11you're being pulled
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: to?
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 26:13one of the beautiful parts about owning your own business is
- 26:15that I get to decide
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: now what I want to work on.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: So I did the same thing as you.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: I was working on the clients for a long time and building a practice.
- 26:24And then I started writing a book and started doing courses and
- 26:27podcasting.
- 26:28And I did switch the direction and people kept saying to me,
- 26:30yeah,
- 26:30but aren't you worried now?
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: Because that was my cash flow, right?
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Was the clients coming.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And I was like, but I got to the same conclusion you did too.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't think I want them.
- 26:39not right now anyway like because what is my energy excited
- 26:43about so whenever I'm
- 26:44thinking about a task right now am I getting excited about it
- 26:47or am I feeling
- 26:48drained and I started to feel drained about the clients and it
- 26:51wasn't because I
- 26:51don't like working with clients but it was because I see people
- 26:54in my house and I
- 26:56had a puppy and now I'm worrying about the dog and you got to
- 26:59keep your house clean
- 27:00and my kids now I can't I can't be back and forth driving to
- 27:03school because I have
- 27:04clients coming and so all of a sudden I was like you know that
- 27:07is actually draining
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: me
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: And I don't have to do that if I don't want to, right?
- 27:13Like if I decide that that is actually something that is
- 27:16turning my dial down in
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: life,
- 27:19then I'm going to just turn that one off for a minute and go to
- 27:21somewhere else
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: because all of the things I'm trying to do,
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: this mission of helping people can be served in so many ways.
- 27:27And this is one of those great things about manifesting is when
- 27:29we truly understand
- 27:31that sometimes we don't have to have such tight expectations on
- 27:34how things show up.
- 27:35We just have to put the intention out and then the world will
- 27:39provide for us in the
- 27:40way that works for us which means sometimes some doors do close
- 27:44so another one can
- 27:45open and for me right now with the way my life is set up and my
- 27:48own health I think
- 27:49it felt more beneficial to do like large groups instead of
- 27:53one-on-one and so all of
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: a sudden now it became more about podcasting and doing workshops and
- 27:59you know and so even though I was a little stressed out in the
- 28:01beginning there
- 28:01about the clients part I think I reached that same conclusion
- 28:04you did like well why
- 28:05am I not having more clients because I don't want to and that
- 28:09is the truth and I
- 28:10think when you can understand that and accept those parts of
- 28:13yourself and ask the
- 28:15question and then not be scared because you're okay to act on
- 28:18the answer you get
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: because I think a lot of people resist even being curious to ask because
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Once you have the answer,
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: well,
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: you kind of feel obligated then that you have to,
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: go in the direction that the universe is kind of giving you.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or they're just scared for the answer.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: It's because they already know, right?
- 28:35So they already know what the answer is at some level because
- 28:38we do have that
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: intuition,
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: that inner wisdom all the time.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Everyone has it.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: It's just if you're numbed yourself off and disconnected so much that,
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: are you open to coming back to that?
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: And are you opening to follow it?
- 28:51The best expression I heard is that intuition should be acted
- 28:54upon,
- 28:54not put in a drawer.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: And I was like, yes!
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: And I would tell you right now,
- 29:00if you keep ignoring your intuition and it's something that you
- 29:03really need to be
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: doing,
- 29:04the universe will keep turning the message up until it's louder
- 29:07and louder and
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: louder until it hits you in the face.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: And it might literally hit you in the face,
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: or,
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: you wake up and you can't get out of bed,
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: or you wake up and you're numb or you wake up and,
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: all of a sudden you've broken your toe,
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: whatever it looks like.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: So,
- 29:27This is where it's really important to start to tune in and
- 29:30have a little bit of
- 29:31courage and it's okay to change as well and to give yourself
- 29:35permission and grace
- 29:36to do that as well because sometimes we might want something
- 29:39and we have that and
- 29:41then it doesn't feel an alignment anymore and that's okay to
- 29:44change and shift as
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: well.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: and I think that there's,
- 29:49this is part of the being curious is that when I was trying to
- 29:52heal myself,
- 29:53because all the things I do with clients now and the things
- 29:56that I incorporate in
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: my courses and my book.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: or things I did on myself.
- 30:01And I did a lot of things and I spent a lot of money and I went
- 30:03down a lot of
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: rabbit holes that I didn't get the results from.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: And it never felt like a failure to me.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: It never felt like a waste.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: It was just like learning and learning about myself.
- 30:14And maybe some of those things that I did might have been
- 30:16beneficial for somebody
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: else,
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: but just not for me.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: And to feel like giving up or to feel like that was,
- 30:23or I think even worse than the giving up part that some people
- 30:26feel like once
- 30:27they've gone down one thing and they've talked about it and
- 30:29they've done it,
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: that they're kind of obligated now to keep supporting it.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: And it's like,
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: but,
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 30:33sometimes things reach a natural conclusion or sometimes it was
- 30:37only in service of
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: a different path.
- 30:40and so that was not supposed to be the whole story that was
- 30:42just one part of the
- 30:43journey and another fork in the road opened up and it's okay to
- 30:48go a different
- 30:49direction now and to not feel like let down or stalled by the
- 30:54other roads that you
- 30:55took they're part of the beautiful journey of the story that
- 30:58you're writing and as
- 31:00long as you have that overarching kind of I think the why and
- 31:04the passion and the
- 31:05purpose it doesn't really matter what the journey looks like to
- 31:07get there and enjoy
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: the journey too like
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: Because life is like even with my healing,
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: there's not a destination that I'm getting to where I'm like,
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: okay,
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: that's it.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: I've done with the MS now and I'm perfectly good.
- 31:18No,
- 31:18I'll hit menopause and then my body will age and then maybe
- 31:22something else comes up.
- 31:23Like your body and your life,
- 31:25your health,
- 31:26your spiritual path,
- 31:28it is an ongoing journey.
- 31:30And so just enjoy it as it's happening And I like the idea of
- 31:33just being curious
- 31:34Because it's way more fun Like life is way more fun When we're
- 31:37not stuck in a rut
- 31:39Or we're not obligated to something But if you could wake up
- 31:42every day And follow
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: your passion And where you're leading What a beautiful life
- 31:47I was doing a session for someone the other week and the
- 31:50expression came through
- 31:51choose your level of suffering like do you want to suffer doing
- 31:55something that
- 31:55you're passionate about you know like getting up and going oh
- 31:58you know I'm doing
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: these interviews but I'm excited because I'm sharing it
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: That is like a different level of suffering verse,
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: oh,
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: I'm doing this because my boss told me I have to,
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: right?
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: So you choose your level of suffering or your level of pain,
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: I guess,
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: but when it's aligned with where you're heading,
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: you don't mind.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: And it's okay to have a little bit of stress.
- 32:17It's when you're in constant stress that it can tax the body
- 32:20too much or you're in
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: resistance to something bigger than what you're actually realizing too.
- 32:27That's why I feel like with the bliss,
- 32:28I don't want people to misunderstand it.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Living in bliss is not constant happiness.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: It's not toxic positivity.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: It's not just always stuffing things and going, no, I'll just be happy.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: I'm okay.
- 32:39Like it's not saying you can cry and you can be pissed off and
- 32:42you can have bad
- 32:42days and you can feel all of the emotions because none of them
- 32:46are good or bad.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: They're just emotions and they just move through you.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: The bliss to me is really what the thing you're speaking of right now.
- 32:53When you have a passion and when you have something that's like
- 32:56the North Star
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: that's holding you in life.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And I know what mine is,
- 33:00which is this mission to help educate people to heal and what's
- 33:04possible and to
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: open people's experience so that they don't stay stuck.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: And knowing that, it doesn't matter how it comes to me.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: It could be podcasts.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: It could be a book, workshops.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: It can be one-on-one.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: It can look any way.
- 33:17And even if this business for me shuts down and it just ends up
- 33:20being that I just
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: on an individual personal level to friends,
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: family or people I meet that I connect with,
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: that's okay too.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Because I can show up in any way.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: And this idea of this bliss is just really to say what you're saying.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Even it's not every day isn't going to be easy.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Some days are going to be harder than others.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: It's hard to start a business or to work for yourself.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: But I know every day when I'm going to get up and I'm going to do this.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: I know the reason why.
- 33:46and I want to do it and I can you know it's different like when
- 33:49I worked for my
- 33:51boss I worked way less hours than I work now I work so many
- 33:55free hours when you
- 33:55work for yourself because you're doing all of these things that
- 33:58it's not a
- 33:59one-to-one you're not getting paid for it it's all this extra
- 34:01stuff behind the
- 34:02scenes but I don't even mind doing it I love doing it even
- 34:05though you know you
- 34:06might see me momentarily trying to figure out the tech because
- 34:09tech isn't my thing
- 34:10I like you know the spiritual part of things I like teaching
- 34:12yoga I don't really
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: like figuring out back-end website stuff
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't matter because that I have this really strong North Star.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: I will push through those things happily.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Like you're saying,
- 34:23it feels like suffering in some way because you're putting in
- 34:26this effort and this
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: grind.
- 34:27But the grind is in service of something that your heart is
- 34:30aligned and it wants.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: It's not because somebody made you do it.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: And I think I heard this even said somewhere,
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: and I've used this a lot,
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: and I don't know where I heard it,
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: that to switch even just between saying,
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: I need to do this and I want to do it.
- 34:44even small tasks like cooking dinner next for me instead of
- 34:47saying I have to cook
- 34:48dinner and then the energy drains from you instantly when you
- 34:51think that way to
- 34:52saying like I want to I want to cook this healthy meal I want
- 34:55to sit down with my
- 34:56family I want to spend time doing this it instantly shifts the
- 35:00energy that you put
- 35:01into it and one energizes you and one drains you and I'd rather
- 35:05live a life where I
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: feel energized and all even the menial tasks Dr.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: Dr. John Demartini talks about this.
- 35:11SPEAKER_01: So if you use words like should,
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: have,
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: need,
- 35:15they're actually a lower vibration and they imply that someone
- 35:19else is expecting
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: that of you.
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: Once on the borderline, but if you say, I choose, I desire, or I love...
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: so I choose to cook dinner for my family because if I go out,
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: I can't trust the food that we're eating,
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: right?
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: You know, like I rather feel better.
- 35:34You know,
- 35:34I choose to help my son clean out the rabbit poos even though I
- 35:38don't want to.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: You know, it has exactly like you said, it has a different resonance.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: Because I desire for it to smell nicer in my house.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: We have a rabbit too, so...
- 35:47Yeah,
- 35:48don't let that ammonia just infiltrate every part of your
- 35:51senses,
- 35:51right?
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: So I understand.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: And at the same time,
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: we're going to start finishing our time together,
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Dana,
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: but I want to hear a little bit more about the book that you're writing.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: So when do you hope to finish it or it's just in its journey stage?
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: No, it's done.
- 36:04It's actually,
- 36:04I should update my bio because the book is,
- 36:07yeah,
- 36:07it's been out since Christmas.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: I actually now released the companion workbook too to go deeper.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: So the book is Unlearn Disease, Relearn Wellbeing.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: And it is part memoir,
- 36:18so there's a bit of my own personal healing with MS in there
- 36:21and my energetic
- 36:22pattern because I really unpack all of the kind of secondary
- 36:26gains and the
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: emotional things that kind of led to my MS manifesting.
- 36:31But it really is also this kosha model of taking you through
- 36:35each phase like we
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: talked through physical body,
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: energy,
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: mental,
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: intuition,
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: or wisdom body and the bliss body.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: And as I layer all those,
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: really getting into all the modalities that I do that can help people.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: So diving into meditation,
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: to hypnosis,
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: sound healing,
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: and then the frequency devices and the bioresonance scannings that I do.
- 36:56And so it gives a lot of information about things that are
- 36:59available to help heal.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: I mean,
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: the thing about this is it doesn't matter what disease or what,
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: whether it's even mental or it's physical in the body.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: Most things manifest for the same reason,
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: which is,
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: just oscillations in your energy field and in your emotions.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: So the causes and the cures are almost always the same.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: So this book can apply to anybody regardless.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be MS.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: It's not MS specific.
- 37:23And it has a lot of exercises and practice that you go through
- 37:27throughout the book.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: So you're kind of embodying them as you go.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: A lot of like actual meditations and practices and NLP style coaching.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: And then I developed the workbook to go just even deeper.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: So now you have a lot of more practices in it.
- 37:42But then like journal prompts and ways to reflect on it so that
- 37:45you can kind of
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: work through it on a physical level.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: So you're embodying the book as well.
- 37:51SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: And I asked the guests to come on the show,
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: Dana,
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: if you could heal or change something in the world,
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: what would it be?
- 38:00This is going to seem off topic for healing,
- 38:03but this one is so obvious to me.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: It would solve so many world problems.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: I would actually get rid of corporations.
- 38:10I'm an environmentalist too and I think a lot of the problems
- 38:13in the world and the
- 38:14stresses that we have as a society because I believe we have a
- 38:18lot of stress
- 38:19externally and I think that is through this disaligned people
- 38:22that we don't really
- 38:23like our jobs we're really ruining our environment we have this
- 38:27need for this kind
- 38:28of progress towards something that disconnects us from the
- 38:30natural rhythms and the
- 38:32way that we interact with each other and if we didn't have
- 38:35corporations and we
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: dealt person to person again
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: Not only will we not,
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: be raping the environment,
- 38:41but we would be kinder to each other in how we deal with each
- 38:44other because we
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: would have a personal responsibility in a relationship.
- 38:47So if we had this kind of like trust level with each other and
- 38:51we couldn't shield behind
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: An entity that doesn't have a soul,
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: we would just be coming back more to like,
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: the basic tenets of like,
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: do unto others as you would have done unto you and that,
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: don't trespass on other people's property.
- 39:05And that energetically would shift so many things in the way
- 39:10that we deal with the
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: environment,
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: with our jobs,
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: with each other.
- 39:14And I know that that doesn't really have a lot to do with your
- 39:16health,
- 39:17but it actually does.
- 39:18I don't have time because it would be a whole nother show to
- 39:20unpack how in which that does.
- 39:22But I think that it just it speaks even at an energetic level
- 39:25to just having more
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: soul in everything we do and less,
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: corporate influence.
- 39:34Well I feel it's a beautiful reminder that we are all connected
- 39:37right the law of
- 39:38one and also that we are nature we come from nature we are one
- 39:41with nature and
- 39:42because we've become so disconnected from that that a lot of
- 39:46the time we don't
- 39:47realize that our healing can be connected by realizing that we
- 39:50are something part
- 39:51of something bigger and it's interesting because I just watched
- 39:54the Hoppers movie
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: with on the weekend for our family movie day but the opening
- 40:00scene was like this beautiful kind of glade and the grandmother
- 40:03said to the
- 40:04granddaughter when they were looking over nature when we feel
- 40:07we are connected to
- 40:08something bigger it's hard to be mad and I'm like oh this is
- 40:12like this is why I
- 40:13came to watch this movie obviously the rest got a little bit
- 40:16crazy because it's
- 40:17Disney but at the same time um it was just such a pertinent
- 40:21statement because it is
- 40:23we are part of something bigger like you said and if we can go
- 40:25back to realizing
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: how
- 40:27which we can interact with each other and influence each other
- 40:30would have such a
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: profound effect on our world.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: It would.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: You know, healing is a shared experience.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: And this is why when I was healing myself,
- 40:39I knew that it was going to be foundational for me to help
- 40:41other people heal
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: because we are not separate.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, yoga is my background.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: So that's how this whole journey started for me.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: And it is the model for my healing.
- 40:50And yoga teaches us to yoke or unite mind and body and that
- 40:54everything comes in oneness.
- 40:56and I think that that's not even just yoga when we really look
- 40:58at every spiritual
- 40:59tradition and religious tradition around the world they're all
- 41:02at the core of that
- 41:03one principle of that there is just this one that we all come
- 41:07from source and that
- 41:08we're all part of it and I think we need to extend that to the
- 41:12environment too
- 41:14because the earth that we live on and the plants the animals
- 41:18and everything that
- 41:18we're with they share the energy with us too so we need to
- 41:22bring them into the fold
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: as well of the healing
- 41:26and if people want to come and find you Dana to work with you
- 41:29or find your book
