- 0:00We've just lost that great intro.
- 0:02We could have just recorded that as the intro.
- 0:04That would have been great. Yes.
- 0:06But that's true. Oh.
- 0:07Well, never mind so. You may sound that.
- 0:10Next time I'll I'll masturbate again at some point.
- 0:13OK, I'm sure you will. Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm
- 0:19with your hosts Matt, Luke, and Dan.
- 0:24Multiple Nerdgasm, Your guide to all things nerdy.
- 0:35For people who were out there saying wow, Luke's at three and
- 0:38a half million game of school. I'm at now at three and a half
- 0:41million and 64,000. Wow.
- 0:45Yeah. I did a bit of a lame lay
- 0:49around. Get some very easy achievements
- 0:51today. Different.
- 0:54To what you normally do, yes. Well, I just, sometimes I just
- 0:58go and look at matureachievements.com and I
- 1:00look at my inbox and it'll tell me when there's been title
- 1:03updates for games that are designed just to give easy
- 1:07achievements. And I'll go through and do the
- 1:08title updates, right? And so it'll take you like those
- 1:13one game took me like 10 minutes to get 4000 games score.
- 1:19So people I guess, I guess it's a money making scheme is they'll
- 1:22just make games to give you achievements.
- 1:25It's not as bad as PlayStation. Really.
- 1:28PlayStation, they actually Sony just deleted all of like a
- 1:32publishers entire library of like 1000 games that were
- 1:37designed just for platinum trophies.
- 1:40Interesting. And I hope that Microsoft do the
- 1:43same soon as well, just to cut down a bit of that shovelware.
- 1:48Yeah. What's competition for you?
- 1:51Some it's a shame, some of the games are actually quite good,
- 1:54it's just they're designed to like they'll have like play the
- 2:021st 10 levels, get all the achievements and then you've got
- 2:05to wait for the updates. If they release the entire game
- 2:08as one get it'll be fine, but they release it in the with the
- 2:13intention of having updates to give more achievements for
- 2:16people to come back and play. It's like a whole genre or
- 2:23market, I suppose. Yeah, well, I wouldn't be
- 2:25interested in them I have time for.
- 2:28No. Games as it is, I've been
- 2:30playing some Dune Awakening. Still, it's fun.
- 2:32I like it. I'll play it once it comes to
- 2:36Xbox. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course.
- 2:37Yeah, of course. I couldn't wait.
- 2:39And then I realized, oh, I can play it.
- 2:41I've a setup the way I can. Oh, I could play it right now.
- 2:46Oh. No, no, I know that.
- 2:47Too, it's. Just you won't get any
- 2:49achievements. I won't.
- 2:50Get any achievements and I can't do that.
- 2:52That's fair. And I hope they make the
- 2:54achievements easy to get like they did with Conan.
- 2:58It's only one achievement I didn't get.
- 3:02The standing on the head one. Yeah.
- 3:04Yeah. It's easy to do, I just need
- 3:08someone to do we. Just weren't able to coordinate
- 3:10or get done together so that we could allow you to do.
- 3:12It. But yeah, Conan, there was a lot
- 3:14of console commands for me to get some of those achievements.
- 3:18Which is not cheating if you're new.
- 3:21If you're new to the show, Luke insists that's not cheating.
- 3:24It's not cheating, there are rules about it and it's not
- 3:28tweaking code or anything. It is a genuine thing.
- 3:31Is it real rules? On yeahtrueachievement.com have
- 3:34rules about achievements. It was like I could go and
- 3:38unlock some achievements in Halo 2, the PC version right?
- 3:42That would get me banned. Really banned from your
- 3:46achievements? Because you can do it, but you
- 3:48have to mess around and do stuff.
- 3:51Would they know that you did it? Yes, because if you were to
- 3:55unlock a multiplayer achievement in Halo 2 multiplayer on PC, now
- 4:03there's got to be questions about how you did that.
- 4:05Oh, OK. All right.
- 4:07Because that game has not been playable, will not multiplayer
- 4:13hasn't been playable like 20 years or something.
- 4:16Right, OK, don't say that 20 years.
- 4:20Might be more that. Can't be right.
- 4:21No, stop it. Halo 2.
- 4:29Oh God. How close am I?
- 4:33I mean, 2004, you're very close. Oh wow.
- 4:38Oh. It's section 20.
- 4:40Two years, but no. The PC version would have come
- 4:43out later maybe. Halo 2.
- 4:47Because it would have gained to Windows Live back then 2. 1007.
- 4:53There you go. So it's not quite.
- 4:55It's still 19 years, 19 years. It's scary how old some of these
- 4:59games are. Yeah, it's scary how old we are.
- 5:03Yes, we don't seem to be stopping getting older.
- 5:08No. I thought at some point we
- 5:10might, but no. But there's also the other side
- 5:13where I don't think we've grown up either.
- 5:16Yeah, I don't. I, I think now, is this what my
- 5:24parents felt like? I'm presumably what my mom still
- 5:26feels like. Yeah.
- 5:28And it must be. And it's like, that's weird
- 5:30because it just didn't seem like I was still going to feel like I
- 5:34didn't know what I was doing all the time, like when I got old.
- 5:37Yeah, when I was young, it felt like like my parents knew new
- 5:42stuff. They were on top of stuff.
- 5:44And now I've got You were just making this shit off.
- 5:48Yeah, it's a different generation though, maybe.
- 5:50Maybe. No, I'm making it up.
- 5:54I know I'm getting old because I think I was just about to say
- 5:57and then I mentally was like, that's because you're old.
- 5:59I was about to say kids are even worse than us, mate.
- 6:02And like, probably not probably just the same, but.
- 6:06Actually, kids are, I don't know, kids are probably
- 6:08different to us. We used to like, did you ever
- 6:13hang out at the Quicks, which is a garage?
- 6:16Stations, of course, Yeah, I mean, not as much as you guys.
- 6:19I met you guys late into that, but yes, I did.
- 6:22But we used to hang out at like a garage station every night and
- 6:25that was us going out and but we weren't causing.
- 6:29Trouble. It's a gas station for.
- 6:31A gas station. American listeners.
- 6:34But yeah, like I think one night management had asked because we
- 6:38knew a guy who worked there one night management went like, can
- 6:41these guys not hang around anymore?
- 6:43So we went bothering the. Customers not bothering them,
- 6:47actually just bothering them by being there because we were.
- 6:51But we changed so many tires and yeah, we used to help people.
- 6:55The one night we went, OK, Yep, not a problem.
- 6:57We won't hang around anymore. They got robbed.
- 6:59Yeah. The next time management source
- 7:03like you guys can hang around like you're fine, Yeah, you're
- 7:07not. We're not in the store.
- 7:09To be clear, no. Outside.
- 7:12Outside. Smoking.
- 7:14Smoking. At a gas station.
- 7:16Yes. Yeah, you know, it was the 90s.
- 7:21Things are different. Yes, very different.
- 7:24Yeah. And we never stole anything.
- 7:27No. No.
- 7:29Well, we unless you count when we claim free refills on
- 7:33slushies. I'm not sure that counts I.
- 7:37Don't think that counts. The only time I've ever tried to
- 7:41steal something, I was very little.
- 7:42And I went my some friend of mine, I don't know who, told me
- 7:46that he that you could just get free toys by going into the toy
- 7:50shop and then putting them under your jumper and walking out
- 7:54again. And I was like, oh, all right.
- 7:57And he's like, yeah, but you obviously can't get caught.
- 7:59And I was like, oh, yeah. And then I did at one point.
- 8:01I don't know how old that was. It was very little.
- 8:03Yeah. I went into a toy shop in in New
- 8:06Plains in the Lennox Shopping Center and I tried to put a
- 8:10Ghostbusters toy under my jumper and the guy at the counter was
- 8:15like, hey, put that back and I did and I left, but I never
- 8:19tried that again. Never did it.
- 8:20Again, Nope, because it scared the shit out of me.
- 8:22The story that Kevin Smith says one time his family took him to
- 8:25Disneyland and he's sort of like, this is the greatest time
- 8:29ever. Like they let me buy anything I
- 8:31wanted, any store. And then one tool you got a
- 8:33little bit older, his older brother went, they'll just let
- 8:36you steal all that stuff, just walk in grabbing stuff.
- 8:41And they're going, oh, Yep, go wait outside for us, right.
- 8:44And he'd just walk outside with all this stuff and thinking his
- 8:47parents were inside paying. And no, no, they weren't just
- 8:50stealing it. Yeah, you wouldn't get away with
- 8:52that these days, I don't think. I don't think so.
- 8:54Oh, I don't know. We had that story last week with
- 8:56the fight where? Oh sure.
- 8:59But I mean, what I'm saying is you couldn't, I don't think now
- 9:01you can go into a store probably anywhere, let alone Disneyland,
- 9:05grab a bunch of stuff and walk outside and no one, yeah,
- 9:08someone going without, hey, without some automated system
- 9:12going wheel, wheel. So.
- 9:14Didn't even think about that. Don't even think about automated
- 9:18systems, it's weird I work with them.
- 9:20Yeah, it's the world now. I was just before this because
- 9:27you know, I got up made some coffee while I was waiting I had
- 9:32a quick cheeky look on Facebook marketplace at some scooters
- 9:35because I'm I'm still excited about our potential Vietnam
- 9:40trip. OK, May I get a scooter for a
- 9:42couple of 100 bucks on Facebook Marketplace if I don't care
- 9:45about how good it is and I don't because I'm not going to be
- 9:47using it day-to-day, I. Just learning.
- 9:50Yeah. You just need to know how to
- 9:51ride. Yeah, and I am old and I
- 9:54probably don't want to ride one around here because I might get
- 9:57killed so. And in Canberra they are great
- 10:01to ride. A lot of people ride here, our
- 10:02roads are quite good so. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 10:04That's why it's good. But I mean, if you learn to
- 10:06ride, especially because the scooters over there, it's not
- 10:09like they go fast. It's not like there are
- 10:11highways. They the maximum speed you'll go
- 10:14is like 70 kilometers, not miles.
- 10:19Yeah, right now the danger here is I will get pushed off the
- 10:24trucks. Huge trucks?
- 10:27Well. Cars, I was going to say, yeah,
- 10:28I was going to say not huge trucks, but yes, huge trucks to
- 10:30you because, yes, normal trucks. Yeah, for for Americans, not
- 10:35like a toy toy at a Hilux, which is what we classify as a.
- 10:38And literally, I'm sure you know this because you ride one, but
- 10:42there is that phenomenon where they just don't see scooters.
- 10:47People don't see scooters. I read a study about this where
- 10:49they said that when you're driving often you have that
- 10:52thing where you get home and you're like, oh, I don't
- 10:55remember driving home. Kind of thing.
- 10:57Yeah, because you're just on autopilot, like listen to the
- 10:59radio or doing whatever. And when you're in that mode, if
- 11:03you get to an intersection, your brain goes look for cars.
- 11:07And then you look, I didn't see a car.
- 11:10So you pull out and then you run over a motorbike because yeah,
- 11:14your brain, it's just like this weird thing.
- 11:16Our brains are fucked. But no, it's it's still scary.
- 11:19Like even though camera's a good place to ride, it's still scary
- 11:22the amount of people you'll see. You pay more attention to people
- 11:25who you see many of people who are on their phones.
- 11:27Oh yeah, while while driving there are some people who
- 11:30actually would have their laptop and phones set up to television
- 11:34I. Know it's crazy?
- 11:35And it's sort of like. It's wild man.
- 11:36Are you? Insane.
- 11:39Yeah, I know. I literally saw someone driving
- 11:42on my street the other day. I was coming back.
- 11:45I think I dropped Lee off at school and I was coming back.
- 11:47And then there's a lady holding the steering wheel with her
- 11:50phone in the middle, driving like this with this phone.
- 11:53And I was just like, you fucking moron, put it away.
- 11:58There's nothing that important to.
- 12:01Can't imagine it. Oh, I I brought up a couple of
- 12:04weeks ago that I hadn't noticed the the change on our social
- 12:10media with like 16 year olds. Another not being.
- 12:13Able to? Oh yeah, saw an article about
- 12:14that the other day. Yeah.
- 12:15Saw an article that kids are actually enjoying it.
- 12:20Yeah, and I said something about 20 million accounts got booted
- 12:23or something. Yeah.
- 12:24But yeah, people are, they're not upset about it.
- 12:27They're actually. That's cool.
- 12:30I mean, kids, I mean kids don't use Facebook.
- 12:32I know that. But I don't.
- 12:34Use Snapchat anymore either right we're old we we yeah like
- 12:37we we never use Snapchat properly we just we never.
- 12:39Used anything properly. We just were in the weed.
- 12:43Yeah, but no, I since I went to Vietnam, I didn't use social
- 12:46media when I was there. Like very rarely.
- 12:49I haven't really used it when I got back and I haven't really
- 12:52missed it. Like, yeah, you're just looking
- 12:55at nothing. I see a lot of YouTube's
- 12:58creators doing the dumb phone thing now where you, you know,
- 13:02they get rid of their smartphone and they get like a flip phone
- 13:05or they get like, you know, there's like there's literally
- 13:07phones now you can get that are like dumb phones where it's,
- 13:09it's like AE ink screen and it only does like 5 things.
- 13:12And that's interesting. But, and I was like, oh, that
- 13:18could be cool. But then my I like, I don't like
- 13:21the social media stuff, but I was like, you can just delete
- 13:23those apps. Yes, I still like YouTube, like
- 13:27I still watch a lot of YouTube. And then it's like, OK, but I've
- 13:30got like, I think you need them for some things.
- 13:35Because I saw there was one. It was a lady who had swapped
- 13:39for a flip phone, and then she said she had to still have an
- 13:41iPhone around because something about verifying your identity
- 13:48for something. And they send you a text and
- 13:51then they're like, yeah, just click the link.
- 13:52And then she's like, I can't click links.
- 13:55I don't have a phone. They're like, oh, we don't have
- 13:57a way to do it now. And it's like, oh, fuck.
- 14:01Like, yeah, like you kind of have to have one in some
- 14:03scenarios these days. But yeah, you used to need to
- 14:05install the links and like, like, I use YouTube and it's
- 14:08just because I, like, walk around in the pool watching
- 14:11stuff on YouTube. Yeah, It's like a normal person.
- 14:14Yeah, yeah. What beer?
- 14:16One hand. No, no, no, no.
- 14:17It's. An exercise for you.
- 14:20I finished watching the Drew Carey Show today.
- 14:25The whole thing. The whole thing, all nine
- 14:27seasons. Is it a satisfying finale?
- 14:30Yeah, it was sort of a sad finale.
- 14:32Yeah, OK. Because it sort of ends how it
- 14:35started type of thing. OK, I've never watched it.
- 14:38Like literally you never watched it?
- 14:40Yeah. But the one thing I will say,
- 14:42Season 9 completely out of order.
- 14:47I don't know why they did it. OK, no, completely out of order
- 14:51like. As.
- 14:52In like, how dare they? Or you mean that it was in the
- 14:55wrong order? Wrong order, right?
- 14:57And they showed it how it showed on television.
- 14:59And I think actually, I think I have a theory why they did it.
- 15:02I think the whole season started off slow.
- 15:05If you look at where they were, it's about Drew getting together
- 15:09with his partner and then her getting pregnant where it
- 15:13starts. He's basically, Oh yeah, I'm
- 15:15pregnant and the way they go. So I think it was sort of they
- 15:18want to start the season off with a with a bit more oomph
- 15:22than leading up to that still ended with the baby being born,
- 15:27but still she went from being pregnant to not being pregnant
- 15:32to having the baby. Oh weird, I saw something on
- 15:41YouTube the other day. Speaking of YouTube and I
- 15:44learned something and I'm like, did I learn this at some point
- 15:46and forget I was watching it? It had like, I like to watch
- 15:52bloopers from comedy shows. Like for example, the bloopers
- 15:56from It's Always Sunny are always very funny.
- 15:59And so Youtubers learn that I like those and then it's.
- 16:02Just been like they're making each other laugh.
- 16:04And yeah. And they, yeah, and they screw
- 16:05up lines and stuff like that. And then one could pop up.
- 16:06It was like IT crowd bloopers. And I was like, oh, that sounds
- 16:09fun. So I'm watching it and I was
- 16:11like the fuck? Did they put a laugh track on
- 16:14the bloopers? Because it was like laughing.
- 16:16I know. And then and then.
- 16:18Right. Yeah.
- 16:19I know what you're going to say. You knew this already.
- 16:21Yeah. It's not a laugh track.
- 16:23It was filmed in front of an audience.
- 16:25Yes, it's not American. And because I googled, I was
- 16:31like, why did the IT crowd have a laugh track on the bloopers?
- 16:34Like as maybe as anyone else complained about this?
- 16:36And yes, someone complained about it and read it.
- 16:38And in the comments, everybody was like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 16:40And then linked to a video where you could see how they filmed
- 16:43it. And like, I, I know that they
- 16:48used to do that. I just assumed they didn't do
- 16:50that anymore. Although apparently Big Bang
- 16:52Theory is also filmed in front of a live audience.
- 16:56Except I think they still use a laugh track.
- 16:59Yeah, OK. Well, I did.
- 17:01Sometimes they have to, because this is related to the Icrad in
- 17:05particular. Yeah, if you watch the bloopers,
- 17:08they fuck up a scene. Everybody was laughing because
- 17:12it was funny, but then they've seen it, yes, kind of.
- 17:15So you kind of have to capture the audio from the previous
- 17:19takes and then maybe mix it up a bit.
- 17:21Would you like me to say something else that's going to
- 17:23make you feel old? OK.
- 17:25The IT Crowd came out in 2006. 20 years ago.
- 17:30Yeah. Fucking hell, that doesn't make
- 17:33you feel old. But Moss has not aged.
- 17:38No, no. In fact, yeah, I watched him in
- 17:42Last Comic Standing, Last Comic Thing, Last One Laughing, Last
- 17:47Comic Standing. Yeah, he's just looks identical,
- 17:50not aged at all. No, no.
- 17:54Very funny man. Yes.
- 17:58I watched something else this week.
- 18:02I watched with my daughter and my wife and her sister, the Lilo
- 18:09and Stitch remake. Have you seen it?
- 18:14I didn't even know they were doing a remake the live action.
- 18:18Yeah. How do you do a live action?
- 18:22Well, I'll tell you what they shouldn't have.
- 18:25Oh. I don't understand the decisions
- 18:29that were made in making this. Like you've seen Lilo and
- 18:33Stitch, presumably. Yeah, yeah, this is a good
- 18:36movie. Like, yeah, like I've said, I
- 18:38don't quite remember it, but I've seen it.
- 18:40Like, yeah, yeah, I remember enjoying it at the time.
- 18:43It's like, it's so strange, like it's edited in a really weird
- 18:50way where it just like it feels like the scene's still going and
- 18:56then it'll just cuts to something else.
- 18:57And then also Genesis to Jordan said this like 30 minutes in,
- 19:04she said, if I hadn't seen the cartoon, I wouldn't know what
- 19:06the fuck was going on in this movie.
- 19:08Like it's, it just, it's so like weird and like jumps around and
- 19:14like cuts and they like removed things and they mix 2 characters
- 19:17together like this. There's the scientist who made
- 19:21Stitch because you know, he's an experiment.
- 19:25And then there's the big, you know, like big, you know,
- 19:29rhinoceros elephant looking alien who's trying to capture
- 19:31him. Like, and they've just combined
- 19:34those two characters and which is I was confused about that at
- 19:39first. I guess you wouldn't be confused
- 19:40about that if you hadn't seen the original.
- 19:41But I do still think I don't understand why they did that
- 19:44because certain things later on don't make any sense because in
- 19:49the original, the scientist guy's helping them and the other
- 19:52guy's still trying to. It's just, it gets weird.
- 19:54And then they just changed the ending where OK, you may not
- 20:01remember this. No, but the the big.
- 20:05Big Bat, the alien who's trying to kill Stitch, captures Lilo
- 20:09and flies off and Stitches trying to get her out.
- 20:11And then there's a whole big like kind of cartoony action
- 20:13sequence and that kind of thing that's gone and it just, he
- 20:16captures both of them and it's kind of just takes place inside
- 20:19the ship. And it's more like they just
- 20:23talk. There's no like Spacey shooting
- 20:27actions. I don't know, it's just weird.
- 20:28Maybe they didn't have to budget for it.
- 20:30I don't know why Disney went because I know they've got we
- 20:35have to like what was the we have to remake every cartoon
- 20:39we've ever done live action. Yeah.
- 20:41This one's just thought behind it.
- 20:44It's like. It sounds like some things don't
- 20:47work, and this definitely sounds like one of them.
- 20:50Yeah, I guess they just they just made a worse version of it
- 20:54with live action. I mean the performances are
- 20:55fine. Like the little the kid that
- 20:57plays Lilo is great. Like you know, good choice.
- 21:00Wish the movie was better. It would have been, it could
- 21:02have been really good. And like the system, like
- 21:04everybody's in, it's really good.
- 21:05It's just weird. Like, OK, anyway, not you're
- 21:09saying? Yeah, not.
- 21:10To go out and watch this then. Watch the original.
- 21:13OK, the original's really good. I'm gonna have a review of a
- 21:16movie next week though. Oh yeah.
- 21:19I'm gonna go see 28 Days, 28 years later, the second one.
- 21:23I read a thing, I didn't put this in here.
- 21:26I've heard that it's really good.
- 21:28But. Completely.
- 21:29But no one's going to see it. Yeah, no one's going to see it.
- 21:32And it's like, like getting freaking destroyed at the box
- 21:35office. Oh, the only thing I read about
- 21:38it was it's very, very different to the 1st 28 years later.
- 21:43And I think it's due to the way it ended with like the, I still
- 21:47called them the Power Rangers rocking up.
- 21:51So no, I'm going to go see it this week.
- 21:53I just, I the reason I didn't want to go see it like this
- 21:57weekend is because it's just come out.
- 21:59I didn't want to. Deal with other people.
- 22:01Yeah. So I didn't need to worry about
- 22:03that. 28 years later, the Bone Temple grossed 5.6 million.
- 22:08Oh, that's for a sake. Which is not.
- 22:10Which is not good. That's that's also strange
- 22:15because the the first one was actually quite good.
- 22:19It was, but I was like, is this because it is weird, right?
- 22:23I liked it, but it is weird. Like if you were thinking this
- 22:27is going to be a zombie movie, like you know, like a normal
- 22:30zombie movie or or even like the first one.
- 22:33It's not. It's like it's not.
- 22:35It's kind of weird, like you don't need, you don't need to
- 22:37have seen 28 days or even 28. No, it's 20. 8 days 20.
- 22:43Eight days later. 28 weeks later.
- 22:47You don't even need to have seen those two movies to have seen
- 22:5020. 8 No, you kind of need to know at all what a zombie is and
- 22:52stuff. But yeah, because they don't
- 22:54really explain any of that, but. No, because they're not.
- 22:56They're also it's kind of different too.
- 23:00I haven't seen 28 Weeks Later in a long time, but it's different
- 23:04than 28 Days Later in that in because the 28 Days Later it's a
- 23:07virus. They don't say zombie.
- 23:09Yeah, it's like the rage virus and it's like not a traditional
- 23:13zombie movie. These are more like zombies.
- 23:18And there's the weird thing with the like the alpha zombie and
- 23:23the, you know, the zombie baby and the like you said the the
- 23:27power Ranger people at the end and and it's just like, I can
- 23:30see why maybe people were like, that was weird.
- 23:33I don't know if I'll go see the next one.
- 23:35Yeah, but oh. Actually, like the general
- 23:37public might have found that. Because here I found the first
- 23:40one. Great.
- 23:41Yeah. And I'll probably forward to
- 23:42this one and he. But yeah, I have heard that it's
- 23:45very different and so I'll see. But I think he's already still
- 23:49made the third one. Maybe.
- 23:53Maybe I think because I think he made these two back-to-back.
- 23:56Yeah, he did, yeah. Yeah, and I know he was making a
- 23:59trilogy. Yes, yeah, it's him and Alex
- 24:03Garland. Actually, the guy who?
- 24:05Wrote Ex Machina and a bunch of good stuff.
- 24:12Well, and with how this one's going, if they haven't filmed
- 24:15the third one, they might not get to, they might not get to
- 24:17you because that's not a that's a bad.
- 24:20That's like an indie movie opening weekend.
- 24:23Yeah. And on that note, it's being
- 24:27destroyed by Avatar, which is doing quite well.
- 24:30So how can James Cameron just. Terrible.
- 24:35I went and saw it. It's not a good movie.
- 24:38You don't. You could.
- 24:39I don't know man. He could have skipped this.
- 24:41As I keep saying, he could have skipped this movie entirely.
- 24:45Gone straight to four. Would not make a difference
- 24:50because this doesn't progress the story at all.
- 24:54James Cameron cracks me up. I'll I'll watch it.
- 24:58I've got to watch 2 I haven't seen.
- 24:59I've literally seen the first one 10 years ago now, yeah.
- 25:05Yeah, look, with the third one you definitely don't need to see
- 25:08in 3D. The second one I think was a bit
- 25:11more for 3D. The third one's definitely just
- 25:14didn't care. All right, you know the moving
- 25:21news. Oh, got some bad movie news?
- 25:23Well, it's not bad. It's not even news technically.
- 25:25It's like, currently at this time, there are no more Naked
- 25:32Gun movies in the works. And the headline for this makes
- 25:35it sound like it says don't expect a Naked Gun reboot sequel
- 25:39is the headline. But when you read it, what
- 25:42they're actually saying is Paramount got bought out and all
- 25:48that stuff, right? So there's like.
- 25:50Everything's up in the air. Everything they're not planning
- 25:53on making anything right now. So I don't know, this is just a
- 25:55nothing burger. It's like, yeah, OK, they're not
- 25:58doing anything at the moment because who knows what the
- 26:00fuck's happening so. Well, have that been brought out
- 26:03yet or is that still? That's what I mean.
- 26:05I don't even, I haven't, I can't remember, but it just says film
- 26:08maker. Film maker Akiva Shaffer has
- 26:10sadly revealed that fans of his Liam Neeson LED reboot of The
- 26:13Naked Gun last year won't be getting a sequel.
- 26:15That's not what he said. What he said is we're not
- 26:17currently working on one because the studio doesn't know what the
- 26:21fuck's happening. Yeah, are we?
- 26:23Being brought out, Who's buying this out?
- 26:26Who's buys this out? What do they want from us?
- 26:28Yeah. So, yeah, so.
- 26:32Because I'd love to see that. I'd also love to see another Oh.
- 26:34What was the remake that needed the cherry Chase one?
- 26:39National Lampoon. Not National Lampoon, they did
- 26:42his sort of Oh God, I need to look it up.
- 26:50Hutch, though I. Saw a video.
- 26:56This is a YouTube thing too. It was like Chevy Chase every
- 27:00few years. And it's a guy sitting there
- 27:02looking grumpy and then someone hands him a piece of paper that
- 27:05says second chance. And they go here you go Chevy.
- 27:07And he's like, thanks, you're an idiot, you're stupid and fucking
- 27:10hate you. And he's like Chevy and he's
- 27:11like, I'm going to say the N word.
- 27:13And they're like branking that. Back well, he wasn't in it.
- 27:18It was I'm trying to remember who was in it, but I can only
- 27:25remember. All right, so it was, it would
- 27:27have been after that. Fletch.
- 27:30Fletch. They didn't remake A Fletch and
- 27:32I would have. That's like an easy movie to
- 27:35remake, sure to do a sequel if they haven't done a sequel of
- 27:38that. Yeah.
- 27:41Does it need AI? Can't remember the plot of it.
- 27:42Does it need a sequel? No, but just the character.
- 27:46I like the character's fun. Sure, OK.
- 27:49Like if you look at the original Fletch that didn't need a sequel
- 27:52either. But it's just a fun character,
- 27:55so it would be good to see. Yeah, another Fletch.
- 28:01And it was. Who was Jon Hamm?
- 28:04My brother. Yes.
- 28:07Someone asked me if I was related to him the other day and
- 28:08at first I was like, I don't know if they're serious or not.
- 28:11They were not serious, Yeah. Could you?
- 28:18Have liked to have seen another one of that the same way I'd
- 28:20like to see another Naked Gun. Yeah, I think it was very funny.
- 28:25I gotta watch fun. Character, do it again, yeah.
- 28:30Did you see the picture of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft that
- 28:36they? Didn't know who they were.
- 28:38Making another Lara Croft. Movie TV Series Click.
- 28:41Through TV series, Yeah. Click through Sophie Turner as
- 28:44Lara Croft. Oh, this is original Lara Croft.
- 28:49Look, I mean, that's what that's one of the one of my favorite
- 28:51responses to this was in that other second article was that
- 28:55that certainly is what Lara Croft looks like.
- 28:57So I mean, yeah, their response to this links in the show notes.
- 29:04People, if you want to see the the picture, I mean, Sophie
- 29:07Turner from Game of Thrones looks like Lara Croft from the
- 29:11original video game. She's got the the bluey teal,
- 29:16the top one. She's got the little gun.
- 29:18The boobs on triangle. That's that's true to the guy.
- 29:21She's gonna think, yeah, what do you, what do you call that
- 29:22harness, the gun harness or whatever that thing is that
- 29:25she's wearing? I mean, she just looks like the
- 29:27fucking character. It's pretty good.
- 29:29Like in that regard, it's a little interesting because you
- 29:33wouldn't dress like that. No.
- 29:36Ever. So it depends on what they're
- 29:38going. For it's gonna be a Yeah.
- 29:39It's gonna be a sort of bit of a tone for Yeah I.
- 29:44Mean. It's fine, I'm trying to just
- 29:49try and just open it more to see if she's wearing shorts or not.
- 29:53There is a larger version that's not cropped further down in the
- 29:56tweet. You can't tell if she's wearing
- 29:59shorts. I don't.
- 30:00Think. I think if she is, they're not.
- 30:03Oh. No, no, I've just opened up the
- 30:05X1. She is wearing shorts.
- 30:07Is that bigger or even on X? Yep, the shorts and then the gun
- 30:12traps go below the shorts. Oh, you're right.
- 30:14There is a bigger version. Oh, yeah.
- 30:15Look at that. Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 30:20That looks looks like Lara Croft.
- 30:22And then the Internet response was not entirely positive,
- 30:27mostly positive with people. Here we go.
- 30:32Lara Croft should look painfully and uncomfortably 90s.
- 30:35And I like that they're really going back to that.
- 30:38Yep. If you look at X, you'll see
- 30:41they've actually got sort of shots of her in different angles
- 30:46and even like there's one of her jumping that reminds me of Lara
- 30:51Croft jumping. I think this is definitely 90s
- 30:55Lara Croft. Yeah, right.
- 30:57I don't think I've seen that where.
- 31:01Or it might be. Crock just generating them,
- 31:06yeah. Because who knows these days you
- 31:10you can never work it out because looks like Earth with
- 31:15the same background. Yeah, Why can't I?
- 31:20Here we go. I can't see anything on X.
- 31:25Are you logged into X? Is that why you're able?
- 31:27To view things I'm logged into. X OK, but yeah, I'm not all
- 31:29right, never mind. Anyway, the largely positive
- 31:33response, a couple of people not into it, but that's fine, you
- 31:37know, But it does. I don't know.
- 31:43I think it's going to be interesting to see what the tone
- 31:45of the show is, like you said, because it is very not.
- 31:51The way she is stressed, it cannot be serious.
- 31:54Yeah, Or not like super, super serious.
- 31:57Like it could still be like played straight, but it's
- 32:00obviously going to be a little bit goofy.
- 32:03No, it has to goofy the right word.
- 32:04You know what? You know what I mean, though?
- 32:05It's not, Yeah. Yeah, with the way she's
- 32:07stressed, there's no way that can be.
- 32:09Completely. It's not going to be like
- 32:11because the the movie they made with Alicia Vikanders, how you
- 32:16say her name? Yeah.
- 32:17Which was basically just made her look like the new games.
- 32:21Yes, but it was very serious. Yes.
- 32:25Like it was not a fun movie. Whereas the ones before with
- 32:29Angelina Jolie were the opposite of that.
- 32:31They were like, ridiculous. And that's what you want.
- 32:34You want people to be having fun with a game like this?
- 32:39Yep. Well, the game movie like this.
- 32:43Sure. Yeah, but no, she looks great.
- 32:47Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was surprised because only
- 32:49because I only know her from Game of Thrones and I didn't
- 32:52watch Game of Thrones that much. And so she was actually a kind
- 32:54of a child in my last, the last thing I saw in was like the
- 32:59first couple seasons of Game of Thrones.
- 33:01And then so when I saw that, I was like, oh, OK, yeah, no, she
- 33:03does look like Larikoff at this point.
- 33:05Yeah, I could just be the glasses, I think.
- 33:09Maybe, I guess. I guess I don't know what she
- 33:12looks like without the glasses. Well, I'll tell you what.
- 33:14Grok can tell you what she looks like without any of that stuff
- 33:17on so just ask. Just ask.
- 33:21Yeah. And then you can sue it.
- 33:24Well, I'm not going to sue it. Someone's suing.
- 33:29It's. Providing me a service yes the
- 33:31mother of one of Elon's kids is suing for People have been
- 33:40making you know the nudes of her with Grok apparently so she is
- 33:48suing it's going to federal court yeah I mean and this is a
- 33:55problem too like this countries I think was it was England is
- 33:59asking Apple to remove Twitter and XAI from the App Store
- 34:03because. It's, I mean, I know if you look
- 34:07at some other countries like doing this like deep fake sexual
- 34:11stuff is very, very illegal. And so just for the full
- 34:16context, they're taking photos of her when she was a child and
- 34:20doing this. Oh my God.
- 34:20Like, it's not like not just her now they're I don't know what
- 34:26what the fuck is wrong with people.
- 34:27But yeah. And I'm, it seems like, I mean,
- 34:33it's Elon's ex, you know, so I assume this is targeted, you
- 34:37know what I mean? Like, no, I'm not saying he's
- 34:39doing it. No, no, but people are targeting
- 34:41her because of. Elon Yeah, yeah.
- 34:44There's a reason she in particular is being targeted
- 34:47with it, which is. But not I can see, I think X
- 34:50needs to be very careful with with croc because I know they're
- 34:53like Korea are very strict on their deep plates and it's.
- 34:56Been abandoned a bunch of countries yeah because of this
- 34:59issue like already. And if you look, you try and do
- 35:02it on any other of the AIS, it goes, no, I'm just not going to
- 35:08do that. Yeah, like, like you saw the
- 35:11pictures I was trying to take send you of me and chat GDP that
- 35:16we're playing around with in the chat the other day.
- 35:17Yeah, Yeah. And it took a lot of work for me
- 35:19to get what I finally said. Yes, yeah, yeah, that's so
- 35:28stupid. And he's like, from what I've
- 35:30seen, Elon's just been like, Nah, it's not, it's not doing
- 35:34it. It's like, what fucking is dude?
- 35:36But but it is. What are you talking about?
- 35:39Here's evidence of it. Yeah, the last quote from him
- 35:42was that there something about there have been exactly 0 cases
- 35:45of it doing that, I think. I think he meant specifically
- 35:49generating nudes of kids, but like and I mean, I haven't
- 35:53looked for that and the articles obviously aren't including that
- 35:57in the article. Yes, you're not going to do
- 35:59that, but from what I've read it is doing it I.
- 36:02Remember when he originally purchased like X or Twitter and
- 36:07he goes, there's no evidence of anything racist being on here
- 36:11and it's all like. Yeah.
- 36:13What have you looked at it? Yeah.
- 36:17But he's taken it. He's not that involved with X
- 36:21anymore, I don't believe. I believe he's only fucking.
- 36:2524/7. I believe Tesla were going like,
- 36:29you need to stop being as active with X because we're starting to
- 36:34struggle with what you're causing.
- 36:37Yeah, Oh. Yeah, board were getting very
- 36:39upset with him focusing on X over Tesla.
- 36:42Yeah. You'd say something and then the
- 36:43stock price of plummet. It's not, Yeah, it's not wise.
- 36:47But I mean, well, what do we know?
- 36:49He's the fucking richest guy. Like we're just a bunch of
- 36:53idiots. What do we know?
- 36:54You know, what they should do is they should put him in a in a
- 37:00Fallout Shelter, in a vault with a bunch of other people.
- 37:04See how he goes. Oh, you know what?
- 37:06See how he goes. There's ATV show coming, huh?
- 37:08They can just do that. Have you seen this?
- 37:12I've not seen it and I think this is going to be stupid.
- 37:15They're making a TV show, a Fallout Shelter, the mobile
- 37:19game. It's not just mobile now, it's
- 37:22on everything, right? Fallout Shelter the it's like a
- 37:24Fallout Vault management simulator.
- 37:27And they're making a reality show and it's basically going to
- 37:33be Big Brother in a vault. And yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 37:39I don't think it's going to be good because I think it is
- 37:41basically just going to be Big Brother in the vault and they're
- 37:43going to vote someone out every week and.
- 37:46Yeah, maybe. Unless you're locking them in
- 37:48there for years, I don't see how it's going to work.
- 37:52Do. Experiments on them.
- 37:53Yeah, and how many different vaults?
- 37:57It could be funny, but then I already saw Big Brother and it
- 38:00does just sound like Big Brother.
- 38:02Yeah, it's. Just like.
- 38:04Any other reality television show out there?
- 38:06And I'm actually a bit what's Bethesda doing to allow?
- 38:12This well, it's Amazon. Do they, I think do they, do
- 38:18they have to allow it or have they sold the rights now and
- 38:20they don't have the choice? Yeah, they just sold all rights
- 38:23to you. Could do whatever you want.
- 38:25Oh no, they've been very hands on with the television show as
- 38:28well because I wanted to keep making the law and stuff.
- 38:31So it has to have been a separate agreement.
- 38:35But I don't know, maybe it's time for Bethesda to let go of
- 38:38Fallout. Just as a cash prize, would you
- 38:43go on it? I'd go on it for a cash prize.
- 38:46Yeah. All right.
- 38:47But no, no, seriously, I think maybe Bethesda might be time for
- 38:51them to let the IP go because all they're really doing at the
- 38:56moment is they've got the TV show, they're releasing some
- 39:01stuff on Fallout 76, but I don't really know how that's going.
- 39:04They've got these, but Fallout 5, that's.
- 39:10Well, maybe we. Don't 15 years away.
- 39:12Yeah, we don't know like. They're working.
- 39:16On. Do something with it or sell it
- 39:18and let someone do something with it.
- 39:21Yeah, yeah. I mean, they might be working on
- 39:23something. You never know.
- 39:24They're working on Skyrim, Yeah, we've got to wait for Skyrim,
- 39:30which is 5 six years away, before we.
- 39:33No, not Skyrim. You mean The Elder Scrolls?
- 39:36I thought you meant literally Skyrim, which they probably are
- 39:38because. They probably are.
- 39:39There'll be new consoles soon, they've got to release it again.
- 39:41Yes, but we'll get, we'll get remasters of Fallout 3 in New
- 39:48Vegas. But yeah, we're not.
- 39:49We're good 10 years away now from Fallout 5.
- 39:53I'd play remaster of New Vegas. I would.
- 39:57Well, it does sound like that is coming.
- 39:59All right, good. From what I've seen, oh I'm
- 40:03excited this week I finally get to play Final Fantasy 7 the.
- 40:07Reason it's coming out on Xbox. Coming out on Xbox this week.
- 40:10Oh wow, about time. Finally, Sony stopped paying to
- 40:15keep it as an exclusive. That's a fucking waste of money.
- 40:20It really was. No one cares at this point.
- 40:23Like they really paid all. I think they paid a lot of money
- 40:26to keep it exclusive for so many years.
- 40:29Yeah. Look, it's been a long time, but
- 40:35finally get the play. Maybe how long?
- 40:37Like it could be even like 10 years, right?
- 40:39Final Fantasy. The the remake I think it's been
- 40:42at least 5. Remake release date 2026 years.
- 40:50Six years like yeah, they've paid the Cuban exclusive for
- 40:54that long the. Yeah, it seems weird.
- 40:57Yeah, that because. Anybody's still buying consoles
- 40:59because of just specifically that?
- 41:03I don't think, I don't think people do that anymore.
- 41:05No, no, like, and we talked about this, I didn't know people
- 41:09weren't buying Xboxes anymore at all.
- 41:12So. Yeah.
- 41:14Cool, I'm just not in that world anymore.
- 41:16But yeah, no, I'm so finally get to play it.
- 41:20Well, that'll be fun. Maybe tell me if it's fun?
- 41:24It should be fun. Well, it's only the first part,
- 41:28Yeah, because the strategy gave like getting the first game.
- 41:31Well, they've got to do the others now, right?
- 41:32They're releasing the first one. They've got to release the rest
- 41:34of them. Like everything else has been
- 41:35coming out. Yeah.
- 41:37It's just, yeah, just for some reason they just did not want to
- 41:40let 7 go. We've got some Xbox related
- 41:43news. Major Larry Nelson has been
- 41:52fired. Not from Xbox though.
- 41:54Well. Lego Yeah, No, from Unity.
- 41:58I guess he left. I was actually wondering, like,
- 42:00I didn't know he'd actually left Microsoft.
- 42:04Yeah, just hit me recently. Like yeah, after seeing the
- 42:07article, yeah I haven't seen him doing anything on Xbox for a
- 42:10while. Yeah, yeah, he must have.
- 42:12He's up shit a. Little bit, but it's a shame and
- 42:14it's not like he got laid off like a bunch of tons of people
- 42:17got laid off. It's just weird to see somebody
- 42:18so high profile just get laid off like.
- 42:22Well, yeah, because he he's he went looks like from what I've
- 42:26heard of this, he went over to Unity to basically work on their
- 42:29community, right, To focus on that because their community was
- 42:33essentially dead. And he built it up because?
- 42:36The company fucked everybody over with those pricing.
- 42:38Things. So they basically brought him
- 42:40over to try and get people back on board.
- 42:43He's done that, and then they're gone and now you can go.
- 42:47Yeah, right. I mean, he'll find something.
- 42:50For sure, I'm sure he will be fined.
- 42:53Yeah, it's just, it's just very odd to see like, again, not like
- 42:59it wasn't even like he didn't get fired or it wasn't dramatic
- 43:02or anything like that. It's just a bunch of layoffs and
- 43:03he was amongst them. It's like, oh, that's for you.
- 43:05I mean, I'm sure that happens all the time.
- 43:07It's just. That.
- 43:09Sounds odd to say Major Nelson just got.
- 43:11Major Nelson, that's why I like, as I've said a few times, like I
- 43:14always wanted to get into like testing gaming or development
- 43:18gaming, but then this is the career you have to live with,
- 43:22that you'll be laid off at a second's notice.
- 43:24So yeah. Games rough, man.
- 43:26I was, yeah. I wanted to be a game developer
- 43:28and I'm glad I didn't in a way, because.
- 43:30Like I had an option to work for TK Australia as a tester.
- 43:34Really. Yep, you someone you worked with
- 43:38someone whose son worked to K Australia was quite up there,
- 43:42couldn't work there if I had of started working there the the
- 43:47year after was when they shut down the studio.
- 43:51All right, shit. Just after Borderlands, the new,
- 43:55the pre sequel or whatever they call it came out, they they shut
- 43:59down that and I still like and that's when I still looked at
- 44:01it. Basically, you've got to keep
- 44:03your resume up to date if you're working in that industry.
- 44:07Because they'll, I mean, look at what was the Bioshock, Ken
- 44:17Levine, what's his studio? It's gone.
- 44:20Yeah. Ken Levine, what was his studio?
- 44:25His new one is Ghost Story Games, which is kind of my point
- 44:28in that he they shut down what was the fucking studio called?
- 44:36Studio Insomnia. No Insomniac.
- 44:39No, no, irrational, Irrational. Irrational.
- 44:41Yep. Yeah, So they just shut down the
- 44:43whole studio. Yep.
- 44:45And now he's got a new one that just happens a lot.
- 44:48Yeah, yeah. And even, but that's even for
- 44:51small ones, like even for the bigger ones like so have the
- 44:54things where they ramp up hire lots of people.
- 44:56Oh yeah. Oh, games done by everyone.
- 44:58It's. Like the film industry, like
- 44:59yeah, the film industry, you get hired on a production and then
- 45:03you are unemployed again, yes, like.
- 45:06And that's why you need to be basically you have, yeah, have
- 45:09your resume ready to go, always looking for that next thing.
- 45:12And yeah. I mean, you get to know people
- 45:15and they kind of like take crew from film to film, but like,
- 45:18it's, it's not like, yeah, it's just different.
- 45:24Yeah. So yeah, I'm sure Mr. Herb.
- 45:28Is it Herb how you pronounce this is his last?
- 45:30Name Larry Herb is. That how we're going to
- 45:32pronounce it if it's not. Yep, Herb like herb.
- 45:35No, he's Major Nelson. Yeah, Larry Nelson.
- 45:41Who you always be? Look, there's some other big
- 45:44news this week we should talk about, and it's Star Wars news.
- 45:49Have you seen this? I have, and there's one thing
- 45:53I've seen that has made me very upset.
- 45:56OK, we'll talk. About that, they didn't announce
- 45:58me as a replacement. Kathleen Kennedy is gone.
- 46:05She has stepped down, effective immediately.
- 46:08She is no longer the president of Lucasfilm.
- 46:10Yeah, which is interesting. I don't.
- 46:15Know calling for it for a while. Yeah, people have been blaming
- 46:18her for the lack of Star Wars success.
- 46:22I don't. Know, I don't think it's
- 46:24entirely her. So they've announced that the
- 46:29replacement will be Filoni and Bergman.
- 46:33Dave Filoni and Alan Bergman Brennan.
- 46:37Sorry, Filoni. Bergman's the Co chair.
- 46:40What's the other guy's name? Lynnwyn Brennan and Dave Filoni
- 46:44will be taking over. Yeah.
- 46:48I am not a fan of Dave Filoni's stuff.
- 46:52Personally, I think this is a bad idea.
- 46:57As am I I I've been thinking Star Wars it's well, The thing
- 47:04is, he didn't like the best series that we've.
- 47:07Enjoyed that article this week was that he said in an interview
- 47:09he didn't like Andor and I was like we are fucking doomed.
- 47:12That's the only thing that we've really like.
- 47:15We lived like the first step, the first season of Mandalorian
- 47:18and then it just. Yes, but the thing.
- 47:20And I was like, Oh yeah, but that's just us.
- 47:22But it's not though, No. Andor was widely considered the
- 47:25best Star Wars thing, so like. I'm also starting to think like
- 47:32Star Wars needs to change its look, its thing, because for
- 47:38some reason since Disney's taken over, it's been sort of that
- 47:44very Western, everything's prepped type of thing.
- 47:49Like The Mandalorian, It's always like that.
- 47:52Yeah, and looks like that. But if you look at the original
- 47:56Star Wars movie and you look at the Empire, they're all greatly
- 48:00dressed. It doesn't look like.
- 48:03Yeah. Ridiculous.
- 48:05But for some reason in Disney Star Wars, everything is, Yeah,
- 48:11it's like a Wild West county, Yeah.
- 48:14Yeah, I mean, I, I guess I haven't watched any of the other
- 48:18shows, so I'm not. I don't know if I can't watch
- 48:20anything anything Star Wars in years now.
- 48:23Everything. They're all a bit like that.
- 48:25It's and since Dave finally took over.
- 48:28I don't like. I just don't like the stuff he
- 48:30does. I don't think so.
- 48:34That's why I just give it to me. I will fix Star Wars for
- 48:38everyone. Yeah, maybe.
- 48:42I don't know how you're going to do that.
- 48:44In the new like. You can't fix it for everyone,
- 48:45that's the problem. In the new Star Wars
- 48:49Starfighter, there's got to be a light Saber fight.
- 48:52Yeah, that blew my mind too, because the story was actually
- 48:55about that. Would they just mentioned that
- 48:57offhand because this. Yeah.
- 48:58The actual story was that Tom Cruise was on set and he was
- 49:03like, oh, I'd love to you, you know, become a camera operator
- 49:06on a Star Wars. Yeah.
- 49:07It's a jokey type of thing. And they said go ahead.
- 49:10And so he filmed a lightsaber fight.
- 49:14And then I was like, hang on a lightsaber.
- 49:15Fight a Saber fight like we're talking about.
- 49:17Starfighters. There's not meant to be.
- 49:19Yeah, lightsabers we're talking about.
- 49:22So I don't know what the fuck that's about.
- 49:23Like, yeah, it it, this is going to be the insertification of
- 49:29that as well. I can't.
- 49:34Yeah. Doesn't need to be a Jedi and
- 49:36everything I know you all don't need it to be related to the
- 49:40Skywalkers. So she gave a status update on
- 49:45some stuff. No mention of Ryan Johnson.
- 49:47You know that's. Still, still no, he's trilogy.
- 49:53So following the official announcement of her retirement
- 49:55from Lucasfilm today, Kathleen Kennedy has given an exit
- 49:57interview with a deadline. It's an interesting way of
- 49:59putting it, in which she speaks about the status of various Star
- 50:02Wars projects. Now bear in mind, she's not
- 50:06obviously going to be completely forthcoming because.
- 50:09No. But this is what she said about
- 50:11various things. Simon Kin Kinberg's movie, the
- 50:14one with the most movement. A script draft was submitted in
- 50:17August which was very good but not there yet.
- 50:20It got reworked with a 70 page treatment delivering a full new
- 50:25script and it sounds fucking painful. 70 pages.
- 50:27That's an entire script. Incoming chiefs Filoni and
- 50:31Brennan are said to be strongly on board with this trilogy
- 50:34launcher. Why does everything have to be a
- 50:38trilogy? Yes, James Mangold.
- 50:42Mangold and Beau Willimon, the and or writer I guess, are
- 50:47penning the film. This one set 10s of thousands of
- 50:50years before the original trilogy, which she says breaks
- 50:52the mold and is incredible. But as it's on hold.
- 50:59We've got to do something different, but that's on.
- 51:02Hold. It's incredible, but it's also
- 51:04not happening. Donald Glover and Taika Waititi
- 51:10are both still doing films. This is the weird way of putting
- 51:14it too. Both films are still alive, with
- 51:15Glover and Waititi having turned in completed scripts for both
- 51:18films. Waititi's she dubs hilarious and
- 51:21great. I'll be the judge of that.
- 51:23The incoming leadership will determine whether either project
- 51:26goes ahead. OK, I talk about TT.
- 51:30Man, what a flash in the pan. Like, yeah, he was just there
- 51:35and then just. He made a couple of good things
- 51:37and then it was like, yeah, I don't know.
- 51:41Like Ragnarok? Amazing.
- 51:44Yeah, for Ragnarok. Just love that.
- 51:45Tradition. I really like JoJo Rabbit.
- 51:47I thought that was good. Yep.
- 51:48And then and. Then just.
- 51:50Oh yeah. I don't know what happened
- 51:51there. Like I've watched the was it
- 51:55Love and Thunder? I thought it was kind of funny,
- 51:58but it wasn't as it was nowhere near as good.
- 52:01And then I think the thing with Love, Love and Thunder is that
- 52:04movie just didn't need to exist at all, right?
- 52:07Like it didn't. Well, it became like more about
- 52:10the jokes than anything else. And it's like the Ragnarok
- 52:15worked, I think because it had a good, pretty good story.
- 52:17Like other than the story? Progressed the universe as.
- 52:20Well, and it was funny. Yeah.
- 52:22And it had good action stuff. But let's love the dinner.
- 52:26It was just jokes, anything. And it was just a joke, like.
- 52:29And it had a good story potentially, too, because
- 52:31Christian Bale's character, that was interesting.
- 52:33But it was just like, we're too busy making jokes about
- 52:37everything. Yeah.
- 52:38Like. No SO.
- 52:44I still. Oh, and the pirate show.
- 52:46Have you seen the pirate show? We did the.
- 52:47Pirate Show. It's like aggressively unfunny
- 52:50to me. It's called.
- 52:52Oh yes, no, I actually didn't mind that it got cancelled.
- 52:57TT pirate show Our flag means death God Yes that was.
- 53:01I actually didn't mind that I. Didn't think it.
- 53:04Was very that had a bit of a following as well.
- 53:08Yeah, I I did enjoy that one. I'll I'll disagree on that one,
- 53:12but no, we'll start watch. People, I like it.
- 53:14Give me my Rogue Squadron movie TV series.
- 53:18That would be great. Well, Kennedy confirmed Steven
- 53:24Soderbergh's completed script for The Hunt for Ben Solo is
- 53:27done, but that project is not happening.
- 53:28That's the one we keep hearing about.
- 53:30Oh, the one. Yeah, that apparently was like,
- 53:34everyone was like, oh, this is fucking incredible.
- 53:35And then they were just like, Nah, for some reason.
- 53:38Because you don't have to basically retcon the sequels a
- 53:41little bit. Yeah, maybe with that one.
- 53:43Maybe. And it.
- 53:44Seems weird that everyone's just saying, Oh my God, it was the
- 53:47best thing. It would have been the best Star
- 53:48Wars movie ever, but when I'm just not going to make it, going
- 53:50to do it. Well, then why are you?
- 53:52Why is it? Why you telling us how good?
- 53:53It was, you know what I've only seen of the the sequels.
- 53:58I've seen The Force Awakens a few times because that was fun
- 54:03to go and see again. Yes, The next two after that
- 54:06seen once. I've seen Riser Scott and I've
- 54:08seen sorry Last Jedi. I've definitely seen it twice.
- 54:12I might have seen it three times.
- 54:14I think probably. I watched it 1/2 time again and
- 54:17then was like Nah fuck it. I saw it once, it moved every
- 54:19again, and then the rise saw it once, exactly once.
- 54:22Yeah, it was. I've seen it exactly once.
- 54:25Yeah. I'd be interested to watch Riser
- 54:27Skywalker again because I like there's some visual stuff in
- 54:32those movies. Last Jedi had some really good
- 54:36visual stuff and Rise of Skywalker I think did too.
- 54:41The last year I would like to see it again on that basis
- 54:43having some doing some great things adjust I've.
- 54:47Got some of the weirdest shit backwards.
- 54:49I don't like the dagger that's in the shape of the wreckage of
- 54:54the death step, which makes no fucking sense at all.
- 54:56No like. Who made that and why did they
- 54:58make that and how what they just happened to be standing on that
- 55:01hill when they it's just like what?
- 55:03Like who wrote this? No, but I think I keep going
- 55:07back to like they could have changed the force, just that
- 55:13black and white, good and evil. And I thought that's where they
- 55:16were going to go with it. Like Luke's trying to get rid of
- 55:19the Jedi and the Sith, that snow, there's this in between
- 55:23where we can all live together type of thing.
- 55:25But then he breaks down crying when some old books call on
- 55:28fire. And yeah, neither David Fincher
- 55:38nor Alex Garland has made formal commitments, but they have had
- 55:41exploratory discussions. That's interesting.
- 55:43A fucking David Fincher Star Wars movie or and an Alex
- 55:47Garland star, either of those. I'd be interested to see what
- 55:50they did. I think probably it wouldn't
- 55:52happen because it'd be too good. And then they'd say no, we need
- 55:56something. Shit.
- 55:58No mention has been made of Patty Jenkins.
- 56:01Rogue Squadron movie or Shamin Obeid Chinoy?
- 56:06I'm probably butchering that name.
- 56:08New Jedi Order films so. See, I just, I would just love
- 56:12Sorry, the Rogue Squadron TV show.
- 56:15I lied. You lied.
- 56:17I said no mention of Ryan Johnson.
- 56:20Kennedy also says film maker Ryan Johnson was spooked away
- 56:23from making more Star Wars films after the backlash to Star Wars
- 56:26The Last Jedi. She says, I think Ryan made one
- 56:29of the best Star Wars movies. He's a brilliant film maker, and
- 56:32he got spooked. This is the rough part.
- 56:34When people come into this space, every film maker and
- 56:36actor says to me, what's going to happen?
- 56:38They're a little scared. Yeah.
- 56:42OK, so she's throwing him under the bus.
- 56:44Yeah, because he was. He was like, yeah, I'm gonna do
- 56:48it. I'm gonna do it.
- 56:49He'd. Like about that for years.
- 56:51After and now she's saying Nah, he got scared and he ran away.
- 56:54Yeah, we were gonna let him do it, but he just went no.
- 56:59Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think it was stupid
- 57:04the the backlash and all that kind of stuff.
- 57:06I mean, it's a fucking movie. I didn't like it but like the
- 57:10level of fucking like nonsense was just ridiculous.
- 57:15I just on on the side, there was another article, Latest stories.
- 57:20Ryan Johnson. Yeah, he was not spooked.
- 57:23He's come out and said no, it wasn't.
- 57:26Oh, really? Yeah Johnson's never responded
- 57:29on next to the IG and sorry comments lol. 0 spooked, sorry.
- 57:35OK, well, there you go. So yeah, she really just throw
- 57:38him under the bus guy. It didn't happen because of him.
- 57:41Yeah. And he's like, no, I'm good.
- 57:44He was all set, ready to go, and you didn't want him back.
- 57:48Yeah, right. So yeah, that's, that's, I think
- 57:54the real story is Filoni and Brandon are probably gonna
- 58:01continue to make stuff that we don't like, which, you know, I
- 58:04guess that's fine. That's that's how it goes.
- 58:07That's how it goes. Just kind of a bummer for.
- 58:09Me, we're just gonna have to we're just gonna have to live
- 58:11with the ones that we got and just.
- 58:13Enjoy them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:20Felony's got too much. Power, and I think it needs to
- 58:22stop. Who?
- 58:23What? Felony's got too much power and
- 58:25I think. It I mean, I agree, but people I
- 58:27don't know, they obviously think he's he's able to do it right.
- 58:30People, there are people who like it.
- 58:33The other day, I forget. I can't remember how this
- 58:36happened, but Jewel of the Fates, the music was on.
- 58:39I probably had music on. Yeah.
- 58:41And my daughter Eleria asked me, what is this music?
- 58:46And I said it's from Star Wars. And she goes, what's that?
- 58:49And I said, it's a movie. And she goes show me.
- 58:51And I said, OK, So I showed her just Darth Maul and Kaigon and
- 58:56Obi Wan fight. And she was like, cool, what are
- 58:59those things? I was like lightsabers and she's
- 59:00like cool, where are they? And I was like Nauvoo.
- 59:02And she was like, oh, she asked questions.
- 59:03And I was like, this is great. Yeah.
- 59:05You know, maybe. Well, there's a lot of kids like
- 59:09Star Wars cartoons out there. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:13She she knows who Yoda is. She has her, her her favorite
- 59:17blanket is this. She calls it Yoda Blanket.
- 59:21It's actually Grogu, technically.
- 59:24But it's still Baby Yoda. Yeah, so she's aware of it.
- 59:30And then there was that young Jedi fucking thing or whatever,
- 59:33but she's just doesn't like it for some reason.
- 59:36Oh yeah. Also she's not allowed to watch
- 59:38TV anymore after last night so she's been having some some
- 59:45issues. Boundaries issues.
- 59:47Yeah. So we're like, I think we're
- 59:49going to take, we're going to step back from TV for a while,
- 59:53so see if that helps. Because she just gets up and
- 59:57puts it on now and then gets the shit when you tell her no,
- 1:00:01you've got to get dressed for school.
- 1:00:03No, OK, we're not doing this. You just lost access to it
- 1:00:08completely. And like she gets we'd have to
- 1:00:11do this. It's not multiple parenting.
- 1:00:15But later on, when she's calmed down, he talked to her about it.
- 1:00:19And then I was like, why'd you get so angry?
- 1:00:21She's like, I don't know, I just wanted to watch TV and it's
- 1:00:24like, yeah, I know. Yeah, we've got, oh, it's a cat,
- 1:00:38OK. I was like, something's upset,
- 1:00:40it's a cat. That's fine.
- 1:00:42I can ignore that there's some gaming news we can wrap up on if
- 1:00:47you want. Have you you played any of these
- 1:00:50GTA Online missions that. Played a lot of GTA Online
- 1:00:55missions. I don't think I've played this
- 1:00:57one though. Apparently people keep
- 1:00:59recreating the Charlie Kirk assassination in GTA Online as
- 1:01:04missions. I didn't even know you could do
- 1:01:05this, Make missions and stuff like that.
- 1:01:06Looks like Hitman in a way. Is that what this is?
- 1:01:09You could always make your own, sort of like levels and games
- 1:01:13type of thing. Yeah, I didn't know.
- 1:01:14I didn't know that. That's interesting.
- 1:01:17Well, I mean, if you watch the the tweet that's LinkedIn, the
- 1:01:20article has a video and it's literally the level starts,
- 1:01:24you're on top of a building, you have to pick up a sniper.
- 1:01:27Rifle shooting. It's a recreation of the
- 1:01:30assassination. Which is a look I don't agree
- 1:01:35with what Charlie Kirk said at all.
- 1:01:39Still don't believe you should be should have been killed for
- 1:01:42it and. No, no, I'm I'm anti murder yes,
- 1:01:46in in most regards, most regards probably I'd say all regards,
- 1:01:49but you never know. Maybe you have to be a scenario
- 1:01:52that crop up but. Mega Hitler or something?
- 1:01:54Sure, yeah. But yeah, this is a bit bit on
- 1:01:58the nose. Yeah, well, but it's not the
- 1:02:02first time they've done that. Remember when there was Red Dead
- 1:02:05Redemption 2 and all the people online go around getting all the
- 1:02:08people for women's suffrage and just dragging them around the
- 1:02:12streets and murdering them and. The people who were like, no,
- 1:02:16no, I'm not racist. This is just how people were
- 1:02:19back then. Yes, Yeah, yeah, yeah, no.
- 1:02:27So anyway, they were rock stars attempting to stay on top of
- 1:02:30this stuff so. Which it's it's hard to keep on
- 1:02:34top of a lot of this stuff because Oh yeah, because the 2nd
- 1:02:37paper start seeing it and they're taking down.
- 1:02:39Oh, I'm going to that's. A strident effect.
- 1:02:42As soon as somebody made one and they said no, you can't do that,
- 1:02:44everyone was like, really? Wow, watch this hold my B.
- 1:02:51Yeah, yeah. They've created a thing now.
- 1:02:56So yeah, the question is they're going to keep doing this, trying
- 1:03:01to like stop them or at some point or they just going to let
- 1:03:03it go. And it might actually be the
- 1:03:05best thing to do is just, you know.
- 1:03:08People get bored with it. That's what I mean, yeah.
- 1:03:12Like if as soon as you stop saying you can't do that, they
- 1:03:15probably won't want to do it anymore.
- 1:03:16You never know. That's how it works.
- 1:03:19They've added the name Charlie Kirk to the profanity filter now
- 1:03:24on there. That's an interesting move.
- 1:03:27Which means I guess you can't name a level that.
- 1:03:30Yeah. And look, they will probably if
- 1:03:33they've removed that, if they've added that to chat and stuff as
- 1:03:35well, you'll probably find it's only for a limited time.
- 1:03:40Yeah, but they'll also people will just come up with another
- 1:03:42phrase. That's what that's what they.
- 1:03:45I mean, look at the kind of living, you know, like all this
- 1:03:48stuff that words people, it's the.
- 1:03:51Yeah, but they'll probably just still do it.
- 1:03:54Just people. Players appear to be using
- 1:03:55Charlie Pink. Like, I mean, it's not even that
- 1:03:59different. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:02You can't do. That's not gonna work.
- 1:04:04People are the worst. They are the worst.
- 1:04:08But we don't let people like that.
- 1:04:11Yeah, we don't let people like that in to the after.
- 1:04:13Party, even if you paid us, we wouldn't let you in.
- 1:04:18Don't say that if they pay, they can come in.
- 1:04:21That's the. Well, you can listen, but that's
- 1:04:23it. We're not going to listen to
- 1:04:24your suggestions. Oh, yeah, that's true.
- 1:04:26Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:28You can give. We'll take your money though.
- 1:04:30The discord is up and running, I don't know if I followed up on
- 1:04:32this. If you are a patron you should
- 1:04:37get access to the discord. If you don't let me know.
- 1:04:40I know others have. There's people in there so.
- 1:04:45We'll start jumping in there a little bit more.
- 1:04:47Yeah, go to patreon.com/multiple Nargasm For as little as $1.00 a
- 1:04:50month you can join and you get the feed on Patreon.
- 1:04:56And Luke, you said anyone who joins gets Discord access.
- 1:05:01I think. So, so I think we have to honor
- 1:05:03that at this point. I think at this stage, once we
- 1:05:06get a bit more, we can probably have different tiers I think.
- 1:05:09Yeah, yeah. Well, there are different tiers,
- 1:05:11you get a different like profile based on the level, but it
- 1:05:16doesn't do anything right now, so we could.
- 1:05:17Yeah, look at 1 stuff later. Yeah, if you join our Patreon
- 1:05:20you can get access. To the discord, yeah, and.
- 1:05:23Then discord, yeah. And you get access to the
- 1:05:26Patreon feed if for you get the show early because we post it on
- 1:05:30Patreon first. And then if you pay 5 bucks a
- 1:05:34month you get the after party as well which is we keep talking
- 1:05:37for longer every week. Yes, it's usually at least half
- 1:05:41an hour to an hour of extra content and depends.
- 1:05:44How awake we all are. Yeah, yes, because for me it's
- 1:05:49what's now 7:00 AM For you, it's what, 11?
- 1:05:5311 so and I'm ready to go, so this might be a interesting one.
- 1:05:57This could be an hour also. Oh, we should have.
- 1:05:59We let people know Dan's not here this week.
- 1:06:02Dan's not. Here.
- 1:06:03He's not here. Yeah, he's been very quiet.
- 1:06:05Oh. OK.
- 1:06:06All right. No worries.
- 1:06:08Fair enough. Yeah.
- 1:06:09No, not yet. You're right.
- 1:06:10Dan's not here. But we did manage to get that
- 1:06:13mentioned in. Yes.
- 1:06:15If you were waiting, you may now drink.
- 1:06:18Yes, that's all for this week. Thank you for listening and we
- 1:06:22hope you enjoyed the show. If you enjoyed it then please
