- 0:00Luke chapter 12. Let us pray.
- 0:07Oh Heavenly Father, we thank you.
- 0:10We thank you God for another day.
- 0:13Lord, we thank you for waking us up.
- 0:16Lord, we thank you for putting us on our feet.
- 0:19Lord, we thank you for giving us our marching orders.
- 0:22God, we thank you for our salvation.
- 0:25God, we thank you for this holy word that we hold in our hands.
- 0:29God, we thank you for the salvation of Jesus Christ, for
- 0:33the work of the cross. God, we thank you that you have
- 0:36gone to prepare a place for us, that where you are, we will be.
- 0:41God, we just want to be wherever you are.
- 0:43And so God, the Spirit and the Bride say, come, Lord, we are
- 0:49crying out. Lord, we are looking up.
- 0:51We are patiently awaiting your return, God.
- 0:57And while we wait, help us to wait.
- 0:59Well, Father, I pray in the name of Jesus for power from on high.
- 1:04God, I pray in the name of Jesus for healing from on high.
- 1:08God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will bring the captives
- 1:13home. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 1:15Jesus, Lord, that those that will be saved, get saved today.
- 1:20Lord, I pray that you will move mightily in our midst.
- 1:25Lord, I pray that today is the day of salvation for many.
- 1:29And so God, I just pray that I'll get out of the way.
- 1:32Lord, let you speak or let these be your words, your thoughts,
- 1:38God, and I pray that I will decrease as you increase.
- 1:44Father, teach us Holy Spirit, give us discernment.
- 1:49Holy Spirit, let us see these words alive.
- 1:52God, let us see these words in use and empower.
- 1:57God, I pray that you will help us to be your hands and feet.
- 2:01Help us to love you more. Help us to understand this text.
- 2:06Lord, help us to know what to do and when to do it and how to do
- 2:11it. God, I pray that you will come
- 2:14alongside of us, that we will be yoked together to plow, God, to
- 2:18go out into the harvest. Father, I thank you for all the
- 2:23many blessings that you've already given us today.
- 2:25The breath in our lungs, God, the very heartbeat in our chest,
- 2:29God, cognition, the ability to reason.
- 2:33And so, God, we come today expectantly, knowing that you
- 2:38want to do a greater work in our lives, a greater work in this
- 2:43land. And God, we confess all the
- 2:46time, times that we've made it about sin and self and about
- 2:50money and greed, God, about position and power.
- 2:53God, we confess all the times that we have turned our backs on
- 2:58you, God, for pleasure. And so God, I pray right now, in
- 3:02the name of Jesus, that we will receive our forgiveness and
- 3:06healing God from on high. Lord, I pray that you will help
- 3:10us to have a change of mind today.
- 3:13Lord, I pray that you will let these words wash over our minds
- 3:17today. God, I pray that these words
- 3:20will be the very thing that's on the forefront of our minds all
- 3:23day today. God, I pray that we'll take
- 3:26every word captive and make them obedient unto you, Christ.
- 3:31Jesus. God, I pray that we'll worry
- 3:34about nothing. But Lord, pray about everything.
- 3:38God, even the menial things. Lord, even the trivial things.
- 3:43God will pray about everything as we rejoice always.
- 3:48Lord, help us to pray without ceasing.
- 3:53Lord I desire within my own spirit and self God to pray
- 3:59without ceasing. Lord help us to pray 247365 God
- 4:05I pray in the name of Jesus. We will be sold out, laid down
- 4:10lovers who are completely obsessed about you King Jesus.
- 4:15Lord we just want to see you. We want to see you rightly.
- 4:18We want to see your face. Show us your glory, God, we love
- 4:23you, King Jesus. It's all about you, King Jesus,
- 4:27it will always be about you. King Jesus, here we are.
- 4:31We wait on you, Lord, we wait expectantly on you, knowing that
- 4:37you are going to return, knowing that you are in our midst,
- 4:41moving mightily and where two or more gathered, there you are.
- 4:45So God, thank you Jesus, for all the many things that you do and
- 4:50have done and will do, and it's all about you.
- 4:53We love you and Jesus Christ, holy and precious name, I pray,
- 4:58Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 5:05In the meantime, when there were gathered together an innumerable
- 5:10multitude of people and so much that they trode one upon
- 5:14another, He began to say unto his disciples, first of all,
- 5:20beware you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
- 5:27Wow. So Jesus just holds no punches.
- 5:30He gets right to the point here, this chapter 12 of Doctor Luke.
- 5:36You can see here that He makes it plain.
- 5:39He doesn't leave it vague. He tells them what the leaven
- 5:43is. It is this hypocrisy.
- 5:46He tells them that the Pharisees are teaching all kinds of false
- 5:50doctrine, and he's telling them to beware of it.
- 5:54It's very subtle. It creeps in, it sounds good,
- 5:58but if it's not in the Word of God, it is nothing but man's
- 6:04tradition. And man's tradition always goes
- 6:09underneath the authority of God's Word, the supremacy of
- 6:16God's Word. God said it and we believe it,
- 6:19and that settles it. And we don't have to understand
- 6:22it, but we have to get in line with it and obey it, friends.
- 6:27We might not even agree with it, but we must be obedient unto it,
- 6:32friends, because it produces the character, it produces the
- 6:36perseverance, it produces the results that God is after, which
- 6:42is the sanctification, friends, and becoming more like Jesus
- 6:47Christ each and every day. And if we will take this word at
- 6:52face value and we will read it, and if we don't understand it,
- 6:57just keep reading, just keep pressing on, It will all become
- 7:03clear. And what you will find as time
- 7:05goes on, the very passages that you've read 100 times will come
- 7:09alive to you. They will quicken in your
- 7:13spirit. They will quicken in the inner
- 7:15man friends inside of you and come alive and become real and
- 7:20relevant and become more and more and more useful to you in
- 7:26your life. You will see different facets
- 7:29and tapestry layers upon layers upon layers inside of this word
- 7:35because it is alive and active and sharper than any 2 edged
- 7:38sword, friends. And you don't read it, it's
- 7:41reading you first two. For there is nothing covered
- 7:48that shall not be revealed, neither hid that shall not be
- 7:53known. So here God is telling us, shout
- 7:56it from the rooftops. Tell the truth.
- 8:00Don't even try to deceive. Don't even try to lie.
- 8:04Don't even try to cover up your tracks.
- 8:06If you do something, just March right in the room and tell
- 8:10whoever it is that you have done it and get your punishment over.
- 8:15It is by telling the truth that you are set free.
- 8:20You are set free from the bondage within your own mind and
- 8:24heart. When you start wrapping those
- 8:26cords, those chains around you that binds you, it is by
- 8:34starting. It's in the infancy.
- 8:37We must nip it in the bud. We must get it at the beginning.
- 8:41We must just oh, up and own our mistakes and the things that
- 8:48we've done that have caused hurt or that we're not right.
- 8:53We need to own those things and get it over with, friends,
- 8:58because nothing will be covered. Go ahead and just say it.
- 9:01Three. Therefore, whatsoever you have
- 9:04spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light, and that
- 9:09which you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed
- 9:13upon the housetops. So here you can see that we must
- 9:17practice integrity, and integrity is just doing the
- 9:21right thing, even when no one is looking.
- 9:24Everything that you are doing, everything that you are saying
- 9:28is being recorded. Friends, if there was ever a day
- 9:34and a time in the history of mankind to practice integrity,
- 9:38it would be today. Friends, do the right thing even
- 9:43when no one's looking. But what is the right thing?
- 9:46The right thing is honoring God always.
- 9:50It is by living up to the promises contained inside of
- 9:54this good book. That is the right thing.
- 9:58For and I say unto you, my friends, be not afraid of them
- 10:03that killed the body, and after that have no more that they can
- 10:07do. He's telling you right here,
- 10:09it's very simple. Don't worry about someone who
- 10:12can take your life away. And he tells you who you should
- 10:16fear. 5 But I will forewarn you whom you shall fear.
- 10:22Fear him, which after he has killed, has power to cast into
- 10:28hell. Yes, I say unto you, fear him.
- 10:34This is God Almighty who we should fear.
- 10:36Fear God. And everything else bows.
- 10:40No one in their right mind would ever want to go to hell.
- 10:43And we make light of it and we make jokes of it and we think
- 10:47it's going to be this big party and all of our friends are going
- 10:50to be there, but we are in grave danger of the hell fire.
- 10:57And if someone chooses to go there, it will be a place where
- 11:03the worm never dies and the fire never quenches.
- 11:06This weeping and gnashing of teeth, friends, and you can see
- 11:10it here. This is what we should fear.
- 11:13Fear the one who has the power to cast you into hell.
- 11:17And there will be many who stand before him and say, Lord, Lord,
- 11:22and he will say, depart from me, for I never knew you.
- 11:25It's not enough to know him. You must be known by him,
- 11:31Friends. Six are not 5 sparrows sold for
- 11:40two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God.
- 11:45He's telling you that he even notices the Sparrow, even
- 11:52notices the minute details. There is nothing that God
- 11:57doesn't know, and he's going to tell you here in seven.
- 12:01But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
- 12:05Fear not, therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.
- 12:11So he's telling us here that we have such a high place.
- 12:18We are God's masterpiece. We are made in the image of God,
- 12:24friends, and God cares for us. He knows every single second
- 12:31that we're going to be on this earth.
- 12:33He knows every single hair on your head.
- 12:37He knows every single breath that you will take.
- 12:40There is nothing hidden from God.
- 12:42He knows everything. Give Him His glory today.
- 12:46You cannot hide from Him. You cannot be mad enough at God
- 12:52to get rid of Him. It does not work that way.
- 12:58You cannot be so hostile to God that God disappears from the
- 13:04scene. God is preeminent.
- 13:08God is everywhere. God is all knowing and all
- 13:13powerful. And he is watching.
- 13:17He's watching us, friends. And to God everything is naked
- 13:21and laid bare and He knows even your inner thoughts and
- 13:25emotions. Friends give him his glory.
- 13:31A Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him
- 13:38shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of
- 13:41God. So here we get to see the scene
- 13:45where we stand before God Almighty and you have Jesus
- 13:50Christ saying this one is mine and it's in the presence of the
- 13:54angels. And did you know that when God
- 13:57created man and he told the angels that they were to serve
- 14:01man, there was a great rebellion in heaven?
- 14:04And Can you imagine this scene right here, friends, whenever we
- 14:07stand before God Almighty and Jesus Christ the Son of God, the
- 14:12only begotten, says, This one is mine in the presence of the
- 14:17angels. 9 But he that denies me before men shall be denied
- 14:25before the angels of God. So here this calls for wisdom.
- 14:30Friends, we cannot deny Jesus Christ to this wicked and
- 14:41perverse generation. Friends, we cannot just live a
- 14:47life that does not honor Him. And when subtle persecution
- 14:52comes about, we stay silent and we don't speak up for our Lord.
- 14:59When people are taking the Lord's name in vain, when people
- 15:03are lying and asking us to lie, when people are deceiving and
- 15:08asking us to deceive, we cannot just go along with them and be
- 15:14LED off into hell. We must stand up for Jesus
- 15:21Christ. We must speak out for the things
- 15:24that God tells us to speak out about the shedding of innocent
- 15:29blood. Friends, we must speak out for
- 15:34those that sow discord amongst brethren.
- 15:37Friends, we must speak out for dishonest scales.
- 15:42We need to speak out for the things that God tells us break
- 15:46his heart, and the things that God hates, Friends, because if
- 15:53we do not, we are in grave danger of being denied before
- 16:00God and before the angels. 10 And whosoever shall speak a word
- 16:08against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him.
- 16:13But unto him that blasphemes against the Holy Ghost, it shall
- 16:17not be forgiven. Imagine that, friends, Imagine
- 16:24the Holy Spirit drawing you unto himself, and you blasphemy the
- 16:29Holy Spirit, and then you die in that sin, and there is no more
- 16:33salvation for you. There's no purgatory, there's no
- 16:36praying people out of hell. Friends, it doesn't work that
- 16:40way. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues and unto the
- 16:46magistrates, and powers, make you no thought how, or what
- 16:54thing you shall answer, or what you shall say, 12 For the Holy
- 17:01Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.
- 17:06So here this calls for wisdom. Here we are being drug off into
- 17:11the courtroom. Here we are having to stand
- 17:14before Agrippa. Here we are and we we are biting
- 17:20our nails trying to figure out our defence and counsel and
- 17:24hiring lawyers to try to get us out of whatever charges it is.
- 17:30And Jesus is telling us, take no thought of that.
- 17:34The Holy Spirit will overcome you and overpower you, and you
- 17:38will be given an opportunity to speak for the Lord Jesus Christ
- 17:45and to tell the truth and to bring many lost people unto
- 17:49himself. Whether it is the judge in the
- 17:52courtroom, whether it is the jury in the courtroom, whether
- 17:56it is the observers and spectators that there in the
- 18:00courtroom, whether it is the stenographer, whoever is in that
- 18:05room, whenever you give your testimony, praise God,
- 18:10Hallelujah. Count it all as joy, friends.
- 18:13Count it all as joy when you're given the opportunity to speak
- 18:18for the Lord Jesus Christ and what the Bible says.
- 18:22We do not need to be the PR for God.
- 18:27God's Word reign supreme. God's Word is the complete and
- 18:32full authority for the land, friends, whether you acknowledge
- 18:36it or not, it doesn't change anything.
- 18:39It is our full counsel from Genesis to Revelation.
- 18:46The inerrant, infallible Word, friends, it has all power. 13
- 18:56And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my
- 19:02brother, that he divides the inheritance with me. 14 And he
- 19:07said unto him, Man, who made me a judge, or a divider over you?
- 19:1415 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of
- 19:18covetousness, for a man's life consists not in the abundance of
- 19:24the things which he possesses. So here Jesus knows the heart of
- 19:31this man, that no matter what he got, it would never be enough.
- 19:35And that is why we are called to contentment, friends.
- 19:40We are called to be content with our wages.
- 19:44We are called to be content with food and clothing.
- 19:51This is the Christian walk is contentment which produces joy.
- 19:59And contentment is not found in more materialism.
- 20:04Contentment is not found in more money and a raise.
- 20:10Contentment is not found in having more wealth.
- 20:15Contentment is found by being happy in the circumstance that
- 20:22you find yourself in, no matter where that is.
- 20:26Finding the joy in that season, finding the joy in that space,
- 20:32knowing that God has called you there and he's trying to pull
- 20:36things out of you that do not belong.
- 20:38The dross, the impurities, friends that do not belong.
- 20:42He's got you in the refiners fire.
- 20:45Count it all as joy, my friend. You can see that life does not
- 20:51consist in the abundance of things.
- 20:57Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has
- 21:02nowhere to lay his head. And here we need to know that
- 21:06everything we have needs to be held loosely so that when God
- 21:15asks you for that thing, you can freely give it because it was
- 21:19freely given to you. Knowing that there's plenty in
- 21:23his storehouse, knowing that there is no lack in the Father's
- 21:28house, Knowing that he has the cattle on 1000 hills.
- 21:31He's the one that puts the oar in the earth that we value our
- 21:35currency off of. Think about it friends, you
- 21:39cannot out give God. 16 And he spoke a parable unto them,
- 21:45saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth
- 21:49plentiful. And he thought within himself,
- 21:52saying, What shall I do? Because I have no room where to
- 21:57store my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do.
- 22:01I will pull down my barns, I will build greater, and there I
- 22:06will store all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my
- 22:12soul, soul, you have much goods laid up for many years.
- 22:18Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto
- 22:24him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you.
- 22:29Then who shall those things be which you have provided?
- 22:3421 So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not
- 22:39rich toward God. So we can see here this parable
- 22:43of the rich. We can see here that we need to
- 22:47be open handed towards God. We need to not think of just
- 22:52self. We did not need to just think of
- 22:54self preservation. We do not need to just think
- 22:57about our own future. We need to be open handed.
- 23:02We need to be generous towards God and towards His people.
- 23:06We need to make sure that whatever we have, we are willing
- 23:09to give up in a moment's notice. We don't need to look at
- 23:13anything as if it's ours, because you came into this world
- 23:16with nothing, and you will leave this world with nothing other
- 23:20than that which you have stored up in heaven.
- 23:24Friends, store up treasures for yourself in heaven, where moth
- 23:28does not destroy, rust does not destroy, the thieves do not
- 23:32break in and steal. We need to be storing up
- 23:36treasure in heaven for ourselves.
- 23:39And this calls for wise counsel, Friends.
- 23:42This calls for discernment. Friends, you need to know that
- 23:46what you have here on this earth is to be blessing others, not
- 23:54just for your own selfish gain. If you have much, you need to be
- 24:00blessing others with that much, knowing that when you sow into
- 24:09the lives of others, you will be blessed even more.
- 24:13It will be heaped on top of you even more.
- 24:16Friends, and mostly what that is, is freedom and peace, peace
- 24:22with God. Friends, knowing that you are
- 24:24doing the things that the Lord has asked of you and it pleases
- 24:28Him and he encircles you with His grace and his love and his
- 24:33mercy and his protection. Friends, knowing that God is
- 24:37fighting all your battles, knowing that you are living open
- 24:40handedly, knowing that you are being generous with others is
- 24:44such a blessing, and you are storing up for yourselves
- 24:48treasures in heaven, and there will be great rewards for you in
- 24:51a crown to throw at his feet. We need to be rich towards God.
- 24:5722 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto
- 25:01you, Take no thought for your life what you shall eat, neither
- 25:05for the body what you shall put on. 23 For the life is more than
- 25:11meat, and the body is more than raiment. 24 Consider are the
- 25:16Ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which neither have
- 25:20storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them.
- 25:24How much more are you better than the fowls?
- 25:28So here is a principle that we all need to drive home that we
- 25:33all need to understand is that God is the one that feeds us.
- 25:37God is the one that clothes us, friends, but we must get out of
- 25:41the nest and go and find that food.
- 25:45If, if a man doesn't work, he doesn't eat.
- 25:48And so therefore we need to know that God is richly providing
- 25:53everything that we need, but we must put our hand to the plow
- 25:58and go to work out in the harvest, Friends. 25 And which
- 26:06of you with taking thought, can add to his stature?
- 26:101 Cubit 26 if you then be not able to do that thing, which is
- 26:16least why take you thought for the rest.
- 26:21Here he's saying you cannot even add a single inch to your
- 26:26height. She cannot add a single moment
- 26:30to your life. If you can't even do that, why
- 26:34are you so worried about the future?
- 26:37Let tomorrow worry about itself. Today has enough worries.
- 26:41Just sit in the finished work of the cross.
- 26:47Be still and know that He is God.
- 26:52Know that He is fighting your battles, and that you are more
- 26:55than a conqueror, and you are seated with Him in heavenly
- 26:58places. Friends, don't worry about
- 27:01anything, but pray about everything.
- 27:03Take every thought captive and make it obedient unto Christ.
- 27:08Rejoice always and pray without ceasing in.
- 27:14The lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh and the pride
- 27:18of life are not from God, and when you sit inside of that
- 27:22reality then you can rest, knowing that God is all around
- 27:31fighting all of your battles and you do not need to worry.
- 27:37Most of the things we worry about never even come, and we
- 27:43spend our lives spinning around in circles in never achieving
- 27:49much because we were too worried about everything.
- 27:55Let God take care of it, friends. 27 Consider the lilies,
- 28:01how they grow. They toil not, they spend not.
- 28:04And yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not
- 28:09a raid like one of these. 28 If, if then God so clothes the
- 28:15grass, which is today in the field and tomorrow is cast into
- 28:19the oven, how much more will he clothe you?
- 28:23O you of little faith, we don't need to worry about where our
- 28:29next meal is going to come from, and we don't need to worry about
- 28:32what kind of clothing that we have.
- 28:34God clothes us, God feeds us. When you come unto the Lord and
- 28:40you give your full life over to him, he takes care of your food
- 28:46and raiment. And then he says, with that be
- 28:48content. Be content with food and
- 28:52clothing. Don't take any thought of it
- 28:58friends. That is the way the heathen and
- 29:02the pagans behave. We do not need to worry about
- 29:06that. We belong to Father God and He
- 29:09protects us and He leads us in heavenly places and He is taking
- 29:14us from glory to glory. Just know that this little life
- 29:19that we have down here is to point people towards Jesus
- 29:24Christ, the only one that can give them their salvation, the
- 29:28only one that can give them this peace with God.
- 29:31That is our whole sole purpose while we are here is to scatter,
- 29:36seed friends, to glorify God in the highest, and to point many
- 29:42to the Father. 29 And seek not what you shall eat or what you
- 29:52shall drink, neither be you of a doubtful mind.
- 29:59Do not doubt, friends, increase your faith.
- 30:02Faith is the currency that we operate out of, and it is faith
- 30:08in Jesus knowing that he can do anything. 30 For all these
- 30:13things do the nations of the world seek after, and your
- 30:18Father knows that you have need of these things.
- 30:20God already knows your needs before you even bring them to
- 30:24him. Friends, He already knows what
- 30:27you need. Seek you first, the Kingdom of
- 30:30God. 31 but rather seek you the Kingdom of God, and all these
- 30:39things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock, for
- 30:46it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the
- 30:48Kingdom. Fear not, little flock Jesus.
- 30:55Jesus is so good. Jesus tells us that we are his
- 31:00little flock. Praise God.
- 31:03Praise God that we belong to him.
- 31:05Praise God that he is pleased to give us the Kingdom.
- 31:09Jesus went to prepare a place for us friends, and where he is
- 31:13we shall be friends. 33 Sell that you have, and give alms,
- 31:23Provide yourselves bags which wax not old.
- 31:28A treasure in the heavens that fails not where no thief
- 31:33approaches nor moth corrupts. 34 For where your treasure is,
- 31:39there will your heart be also. So we need to know that God
- 31:47doesn't need our money. We can't out give God.
- 31:50And God desires our heart, friends.
- 31:53He desires for you to live sold out completely over to Him, that
- 31:59your very existence is surrendered unto Him.
- 32:05Every single thing, every dollar, every penny, every
- 32:10breath, every thought is unto God. 35 Let your loins be girded
- 32:19about, and your lights burning. 36 And you yourselves like unto
- 32:26men that wait for the Lord, when he will return from the wedding,
- 32:30that when he comes and knocks, they may be open unto Him
- 32:36immediately. So here this calls for wisdom.
- 32:40We must gird up our loins and stand in His presence and wait
- 32:44on Him, friends, keeping our lamps full, keeping our Wicks
- 32:50trimmed, waiting upon him. Because your redemption is
- 32:54drawing near, friends, and you do not know the hour that He
- 32:58will come, and by and by He is closer today than he was
- 33:05yesterday. Friends. 37 Blessed are those
- 33:11servants whom the Lord, when he comes, shall find watching.
- 33:17Truly I say unto you that He shall gird himself and make them
- 33:23to sit down to meet, and we'll come forth and serve them.
- 33:28Look at how our Master is serving us at this great
- 33:34banquet, this marriage, this, this great supper of the Lamb.
- 33:45Look at how we are seated, and he prepares A banquet for us in
- 33:50the presence of our enemies. 38 And if he and if he shall come
- 33:57in the second watch, or come in the third watch and find them,
- 34:03so blessed are those servants. We do not need to be found
- 34:07sleeping. Friends, wake up.
- 34:10O Sleeper, see that your redemption is drawing near, and
- 34:14his rewards are with him. 39 And this know that if the good man
- 34:21of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would
- 34:26have watched and not have suffered his house to be broken
- 34:30through. So these are the ones that are
- 34:32hostile towards God and they think that they can somehow back
- 34:37God up into a corner, prove that God's not real, or that God is
- 34:42dead or that God is sleeping. And I want you to know they will
- 34:45be dismayed at this time. I want you to know that there is
- 34:49no strong man that can ever protect himself from what is
- 34:54about to happen when every stone is unturned and every cave is
- 34:58broken down and every hidden place is laid bare and they try
- 35:02to hide themselves from the face of God.
- 35:08But God sees everything. God sees everything.
- 35:14And we would do well to bow today to confess Jesus as Lord
- 35:19today. It will be far better for you to
- 35:21do it on this side than on the next 40.
- 35:26But you therefore ready also for the Son of Man comes at an hour
- 35:31when you do not think. Praise God, Hallelujah, He's
- 35:34coming when we least expect it. But our call, friends, as
- 35:40believers, is to look up and to wait, and to wait well, and to
- 35:45see the leaves on the fig tree appearing, and knowing that it's
- 35:48coming, and knowing that it's near, and knowing that it's
- 35:51closer today than it was yesterday. 41 Then Peter said
- 35:56unto him, Lord, do you speak this parable unto us, or even to
- 36:03all? And of course he speaks this to
- 36:07everyone, friends, and Peter here he just says what everyone
- 36:12else is thinking. Aren't we thankful for Peter and
- 36:15his boldness? 42 And the Lord said, Who then
- 36:20is that faithful and wise steward, whom his Lord shall
- 36:26make ruler over his household to give them their portion of meat
- 36:32in due season? So here Jesus is going to wax
- 36:38eloquently and he's going to speak another parable is going
- 36:43to cast along with some object lessons that they would
- 36:49understand. He's going to speak to them in a
- 36:51way that they have to engage in and have to actually use their
- 37:00heads for something besides hanging a hat on.
- 37:04And Jesus here is going to invite them in to this parable.
- 37:1143 Blessed is that servant whom his Lord, when he comes, shall
- 37:17find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make
- 37:22him ruler over all that he has. 45 But and if that servant say
- 37:29in his heart, my Lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat
- 37:34the men, servants, and the maidens, and to eat and drink
- 37:38and be drunk, 46 The Lord of that servant will come in a day
- 37:44when he looks not for him, and in an hour when he is not aware,
- 37:49and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion
- 37:55with the unbelievers. So what Jesus is trying to say
- 37:59to us is that he's coming at a time when we do not expect it.
- 38:03And if we fall into the trap of thinking that he's a long way
- 38:08off and that everything just keeps going as it always has,
- 38:13and that we think that God is slack in his coming, do not
- 38:17forget that a day is like 1000 years to the Lord, and 1000
- 38:21years is like a day. And God is not slack in His
- 38:26return. But He's waiting for the full
- 38:28number of those who will believe to come into the fold.
- 38:32Friends, He knows all who belongs to him, and he makes it
- 38:38his business to go out. And aren't all angels
- 38:42ministering spirits sent to protect those that will inherit
- 38:46eternal life? And we can see here that God has
- 38:50this infinite plan. He has this divine mystery that
- 38:55we in our finite minds are trying to wrestle through.
- 38:58But don't forget that you have the mind the size of a soda
- 39:02Canon. God has the mind that's grander
- 39:04than all the the oceans in the world.
- 39:08And here. This calls for wisdom.
- 39:11Friends, we must wait patiently. We must know that there is
- 39:17nothing that is holding us back from being caught up to meet him
- 39:22in the air. And there we will be with him
- 39:25forever. 47 And that servant, which knew his Lord's will, and
- 39:36prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall
- 39:41be beaten with many stripes. So there's a very unfamiliar
- 39:48thought process when it comes to studying God's word.
- 39:52And there are these different degrees of torment within hell
- 39:58just as much as the. Levels of rewards for believers
- 40:07are of different degrees. The levels of torment for
- 40:12unbelievers are of different degrees.
- 40:16And this calls for wisdom. 48 But he that knows not, and did
- 40:24commit things worthy of stripes shall be beaten with a few
- 40:27stripes. For unto whomsoever much is
- 40:31given of him shall be much required, and to whom men have
- 40:36committed much of him they will ask the more Wow, what a
- 40:42passage, what a thought process, what theology we can form around
- 40:48this one little section of Scripture, this one little
- 40:53passage. Here in Luke you can see friends
- 41:00in Romans chapter 2 verses 131415.
- 41:07You can see here, friends, that where the gospel of Jesus Christ
- 41:12has been preached, there is such a grave response ability.
- 41:19And when you know the truth, you have to make a decision.
- 41:24But there are the unreached people groups in the world.
- 41:28There are those who did not hear prior to Jesus coming on the
- 41:34scene. They did not hear prior to the
- 41:38evangelism of the world. They did not hear prior to their
- 41:42death. And their consciences bear
- 41:47witness, and in the day of Jesus they will either be accused or
- 41:54excused. And this calls for wisdom. 49 I
- 41:59am come to send fire on the earth, and what will I if it be
- 42:06already kindled? So Jesus is the divider of men.
- 42:13That's not a common thought process.
- 42:15We all think of Jesus's love and lovey love and God is love and
- 42:20praise the Lord, yes and Amen. God is love.
- 42:25We love because we were first loved and we don't even know
- 42:28what love is except for a relationship with God Almighty.
- 42:33Here you can see that Jesus is showing the true intentions of
- 42:41what it is to separate the sheep and the goats and to turn the
- 42:45tables over to drive out the money changers.
- 42:49Here you can see what it is when he's about his Father's business
- 42:54is this is the zeal of his house. 50 But I have a baptism
- 43:02to be baptized with, and how I am straightened until it be
- 43:05accomplished. We know that He set his face
- 43:08like a Flint. We know that he was headed
- 43:11towards Calvary. We know that it was the shedding
- 43:14of His blood that brought about our redemption, that brought
- 43:18about our salvation, that brought about our right standing
- 43:22with God. Friends, it was this zeal. 51
- 43:26Suppose you that I am come to give peace on earth.
- 43:30I tell you no, but rather division, not a This is not a
- 43:40very popular teaching about Jesus here.
- 43:46Lock in, pay attention. You're going to find a different
- 43:50facet of his love. This is the love of Jesus, and
- 43:55He could immediately bring the peace on the earth.
- 43:59But he knows that there are many who have false allegiance to
- 44:02him. He knows that there are many who
- 44:05do not care anything for him. They do not care anything for
- 44:11God. They do not care for anything.
- 44:15And they are the children of the devil, friends.
- 44:17And God is dividing the sheep from the goats. 52 For From now
- 44:26on there shall be 5 in one house divided, 3 against two, and two
- 44:31against. 353 The father shall be divided against the son, the son
- 44:36against the father, the mother against the daughter, and the
- 44:39daughter against the mother, the mother-in-law against the
- 44:42daughter-in-law, the daughter-in-law against her
- 44:44mother-in-law. We can see here.
- 44:48And it's happening all around the globe.
- 44:50When you make a decision to follow after Jesus Christ, don't
- 44:54be surprised if the first line of persecution comes from within
- 44:59the four walls of your house. You can see now that there is
- 45:04such an agenda that is being lied to this generation that
- 45:09whenever you speak out for the Lord and you speak out for what
- 45:14the word of God has to say, don't be surprised if your own
- 45:19family turns your turns their back on you.
- 45:23Don't be surprised when you stand for God if people ridicule
- 45:27you and say all kinds of false things about you.
- 45:30Counted all this joy, friends. 54 And he said also to the
- 45:35people, when you see a cloud rise out of the West,
- 45:41straightway you say there comes a shower, and so it is. 55 And
- 45:47when you see the South wind blow, you say there will be
- 45:52heat, and it comes to pass. 56 You hypocrites, you can discern
- 46:04the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it that you do
- 46:12not discern this time? He's talking about his second
- 46:17Advent. He's talking about how he was
- 46:20here on this earth during his first Advent.
- 46:23He's talking about all of the truths that are contained in
- 46:27this word. He's talking about how we should
- 46:30be so completely obsessive and preoccupied with his coming and
- 46:36we do not need to just discount it and think that this world is
- 46:41for us and for our pleasure. It is for God and it is for for
- 46:46us to sow the seeds amongst all people, groups everywhere, for
- 46:51the whole globe. And we need to call many men
- 46:54into repentance. We need to call many men into a
- 46:58relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.
- 47:02We do not need to make it about wealth.
- 47:05We do not need to make it about self.
- 47:08We do not need to make it about preservation of of our skin,
- 47:13friends. We do not need to make it about
- 47:16all the pleasure and pleasantries.
- 47:19We need to make it about God and God and God alone.
- 47:23And is Jesus Christ the the Redeemer of our souls that we
- 47:29are obsessive over? We love him.
- 47:32He is the first thought on our minds.
- 47:35He is the whole day that we think about Him and meditate
- 47:39upon him. And he is our last thought
- 47:42before we go to bed, friends, and he is what we dream of.
- 47:46We dream of the day that we can be united with Him, and look
- 47:50upon him, and kiss his feet, and anoint his feet with our tears,
- 47:55and wipe them with our hair friends, and pour out our
- 47:59alabaster jar upon him. 57 Yes. And why even of yourselves judge
- 48:13you not what is right? 58 When you go with your
- 48:19adversary to the magistrate as you are in the way, give
- 48:25diligence that you may be delivered from him, lest he hail
- 48:31thee to the judge, And the judge delivers you into the officer,
- 48:36and the officer cast you into the prison. 59 I tell you, you
- 48:42shall not depart from there until you have paid the very
- 48:46last might. Do you not know that you will
- 48:53judge the world? Do you not know that you will
- 48:58judge the angels? Do you not know that you are the
- 49:04temple of the Lord? God has given us the mind of
- 49:10Christ and we should be able to judge within ourselves without
- 49:14getting the secular Pagan world involved in our affairs.
- 49:20As brothers, we should be able to come together and reason
- 49:27together, friends, and this calls for wisdom.
- 49:31I hope you've been blessed by this chapter.
- 49:36I know I sure have. Praying for every single one of
- 49:42you. I love you, so does God.
- 49:48Let's meditate on these words today and let them soak in and
- 49:51become reality. Not just words on a page, but
- 49:55part of our very existence, part of our very DNA.
- 50:01Love you. We'll see you back here
- 50:03tomorrow. God bless you.
