- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, The Mark Simone Show. Hey,
- 0:07Speaker 1: we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:09Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 0:09Speaker 1: So, you got a new problem in New York. You know,
- 0:11Speaker 1: shoplifting became legal under de Blasio, under Hochul. under mom
- 0:24Speaker 1: donnie it's just legal they won't under this crazy da
- 0:27Speaker 1: alvin brag you're not going to get arrested for shoplifting
- 0:30Speaker 1: so it goes on all the time the result is
- 0:33Speaker 1: you go into the drugstore everything's locked up you want
- 0:36Speaker 1: although they don't lock up the shampoo kind of an
- 0:39Speaker 1: insult to shampoo but you want some aspirin you want
- 0:41Speaker 1: uh you want some uh i don't know some allergy
- 0:47Speaker 1: medicine anything it's locked up you got to push the
- 0:49Speaker 1: button wait for some angry looking woman to show up
- 0:52Speaker 1: with a key furious that you bothered her and she
- 0:56Speaker 1: unlocks it for you. So it's, it's, and these are professionals.
- 1:00Speaker 1: They all look like kids, but they're professionally organized by
- 1:03Speaker 1: professional gangs and they hand them these big, massive trash bags. And, uh,
- 1:11Speaker 1: you know, then they, um, they get these trash bags,
- 1:13Speaker 1: they fill them up. If you're under a thousand dollars,
- 1:16Speaker 1: they will not arrest you. So they've trained these kids
- 1:19Speaker 1: how to run around and throw everything in the bag,
- 1:21Speaker 1: steal everything And they can fill that bag right up
- 1:24Speaker 1: to $ 999. So it's been a big problem. And you've
- 1:28Speaker 1: seen the result that you got to ring a bell
- 1:32Speaker 1: and everything's locked up. So New York City restaurants, this
- 1:36Speaker 1: is the new problem. More and more people go into
- 1:39Speaker 1: a restaurant, they sit down, they order, they eat, they
- 1:41Speaker 1: have dinner, and then they run out without paying the check.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They're called dine-in dashers. Well, dine-in dashers... have become a
- 1:49Speaker 1: huge problem in New York. It's happening more and more
- 1:52Speaker 1: and more. It's growing. Now, the police will not do
- 1:55Speaker 1: much of anything because it's a misdemeanor. Let's say it's
- 2:01Speaker 1: a $ 100 restaurant loss. It's a misdemeanor. They're not going
- 2:04Speaker 1: to do anything. So restaurants don't know what the hell
- 2:07Speaker 1: to do. But what they've been doing, these restaurants, is
- 2:13Speaker 1: trying to shame the person on social media. It's worked
- 2:16Speaker 1: in a few cases. So they, you know, they all
- 2:19Speaker 1: have surveillance video. They can get a picture of the
- 2:21Speaker 1: people from the surveillance video. And then they'll post it
- 2:24Speaker 1: online saying this person, you know, theft of services. And
- 2:28Speaker 1: they'll try to shame the person on Instagram and Facebook
- 2:31Speaker 1: and TikTok. And here was one restaurant. They put the
- 2:35Speaker 1: picture up and everything. Within 10 minutes, somebody texted them
- 2:39Speaker 1: with the name of the perp. And now, again, if
- 2:43Speaker 1: the police aren't going to do anything, I don't know
- 2:44Speaker 1: what it means once you identify them. But at least
- 2:46Speaker 1: you can embarrass them online. But it's going on all
- 2:49Speaker 1: over the place. What's the deal with the phones? They're
- 2:51Speaker 1: not working? Are they... Oh, they're working, but this isn't
- 2:57Speaker 1: working in here. But let's go to Mike calling from Florida. Mike,
- 3:02Speaker 1: how you doing? Mike, are you there? Mike in Florida?
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't know. It sounds like they're not working. Maybe
- 3:14Speaker 1: you guys have to pick it up in there.
- 3:15Speaker 2: This....
- 3:17Speaker 1: These buttons in here aren't working. Hiya. Hey, Mike, there
- 3:19Speaker 1: you are.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 3: You've been pointing out how the left likes to create
- 3:27Speaker 3: hysterias to get the voters motivated, the most recent one
- 3:31Speaker 3: being the AI hysteria. I'd like to remind people that
- 3:36Speaker 3: in 1979, and you can just imagine who led these things,
- 3:39Speaker 3: Bruce Springsteen had the No Nukes concert, and stupid Jane
- 3:43Speaker 3: Fonda had the China Syndrome concert, And for 50 years
- 3:47Speaker 3: since then, or 47 years since then, we've lagged behind
- 3:51Speaker 3: nuclear energy. Nuclear energy that would have been a boon
- 3:56Speaker 3: to everybody was sidetracked because two idiots created this hysteria
- 4:01Speaker 3: that everybody signed on for.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yeah, these left-wing people, they shut down. Andrew Cuomo, one
- 4:08Speaker 1: of the ways he really damaged New York is he
- 4:09Speaker 1: shut down Indian Point. That's 25% of our electricity. Exactly.
- 4:14Speaker 1: It tripled everybody's electric bill.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And it's, you know, there should be a nuclear power
- 4:20Speaker 3: plant in every corner by now. No, but you know
- 4:25Speaker 3: what I'm saying? It's, it's, you know, it's safer, far
- 4:28Speaker 3: safer than it's ever been. You know, they, they've changed
- 4:30Speaker 3: the technology, but AI is my point is that they're
- 4:33Speaker 3: going to do the same thing to AI that they
- 4:35Speaker 3: did with the nuclear power. You know, they're going to
- 4:37Speaker 3: make us lag and, you know, we're going to suffer
- 4:40Speaker 3: for it.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, no, absolutely right. Mike, good call. Thanks for calling. Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 1: They did the same thing, as we've pointed out, with electricity.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Believe it or not, when electricity was invented, same thing happened.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Everybody said, it's going to kill us all. Electricity is
- 4:55Speaker 1: going to wipe us out. It's going to be out
- 4:58Speaker 1: of control, this thing called electricity. This got so widespread
- 5:03Speaker 1: that a woman wrote a book called Frankenstein about electricity
- 5:08Speaker 1: could create a monster that could run around killing people.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's where the book Frankenstein comes from. this hysteria about
- 5:14Speaker 1: how dangerous electricity was. So it's happened a lot. The
- 5:18Speaker 1: only thing with AI, it is different in that it
- 5:22Speaker 1: can take action. It can attack a website. It can attack,
- 5:26Speaker 1: it can hack into stuff. It is, it is something
- 5:29Speaker 1: that you're going to have to figure out how to,
- 5:30Speaker 1: how to keep it under control. Anyway, let's go to,
- 5:33Speaker 1: you guys have to push it in there. I think
- 5:35Speaker 1: David in Connecticut, David, how you doing?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Good market. Good morning. Hey, regarding the motorcycles, I just
- 5:41Speaker 2: want to give an example. Each one is completely different.
- 5:45Speaker 2: They have different personalities, just like a restaurant does. They
- 5:47Speaker 2: all have different atmosphere. Oh, okay.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That explains it. You believe this guy? He thinks they
- 5:55Speaker 1: have personalities. What is wrong with you? They have a motorcycle.
- 5:58Speaker 1: What do you mean they have personalities?
- 6:01Speaker 3: They do.
- 6:02Speaker 2: What's the difference between a Ferrari and a Volkswagen? You
- 6:04Speaker 2: don't think they have different personalities?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well, one costs 12 cents and the other is
- 6:08Speaker 1: like $ 500, 000. One goes a million miles an hour and
- 6:11Speaker 1: one goes and barely runs.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Okay, well, you just made my example. One goes.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Okay, but in that case, I would get rid of
- 6:21Speaker 1: the Volkswagen and I'll just drive the Ferrari. Why can't
- 6:23Speaker 1: you just pick one motorcycle?
- 6:27Speaker 2: I get it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: No, I don't. Are you a motorcycle collector?
- 6:32Speaker 2: No, I own a couple old cars, but I did
- 6:35Speaker 2: have a motorcycle.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Okay. And then, you know, when we're driving, and you
- 6:39Speaker 1: motorcycle people weave in and out, and we can't stand this.
- 6:43Speaker 1: You drive us all nuts on the road.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Oh, I agree with that. Yeah. You get injured that way.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You get killed. Yeah. All right. Well, good point. What
- 6:52Speaker 1: is the personality of a motorcycle, though, besides comfort and speed?
- 6:55Speaker 1: What else is there?
- 6:57Speaker 2: Some are much lighter. Some are much heavier.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Some are designed for the highway. Some are designed for off-road.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That's the easiest example.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Okay. All right. Well, that clears it up. Thanks for calling, David.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Take care.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Okay, Mark.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Thanks. I still don't get this. It's a motorcycle. Get
- 7:17Speaker 1: a car. You can sit in a nice, comfortable seat.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You can hear the radio. You can talk on the phone.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You got a cup holder you can drink. Get a car.
- 7:26Speaker 1: What are you riding around on a motorcycle for? Let's
- 7:29Speaker 1: go to Dennis in New Jersey. Dennis, how you doing? Dennis,
- 7:36Speaker 1: are you there?
- 7:38Speaker 3: Yes, hi.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Dennis from Glen Rock.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Good morning. Yes. On the restaurants, why don't they ask
- 7:45Speaker 3: for the credit card first before they... Oh, I like that.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's a good idea. Yeah. Okay, well, No, very good point, Dennis.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Thanks for calling. That's what's going to
- 7:57Speaker 1: happen because, you know, once they start stealing everything out
- 8:00Speaker 1: of the drugstore, now everything's locked up. That's going to
- 8:03Speaker 1: happen in restaurants because all this dine and dash, you're
- 8:05Speaker 1: going to have to pay ahead of time. Now, of course,
- 8:08Speaker 1: these guys could have bad credit cards, but they'd have
- 8:10Speaker 1: time to check out the credit card. Anyway, we got
- 8:14Speaker 1: a lot to get to today. Don't forget, I'm here
- 8:16Speaker 1: three hours every day, nine to noon every day. on
- 8:19Speaker 1: 710 WOR. Then coming up at noon, you got Buck
- 8:22Speaker 1: and Clay. That's a really good show. Then you got
- 8:25Speaker 1: the most listened to radio show in America. You got
- 8:27Speaker 1: Sean Hannity, three o'clock. You got Jesse Kelly at six,
- 8:31Speaker 1: nine o'clock. Very funny and very interesting show. Makes a
- 8:35Speaker 1: lot of great points on there. Well, in fact, we'll
- 8:37Speaker 1: talk about one of his points after the news coming up.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Jimmy Fela, every night, nine to midnight on 710 WOR.
