- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39You may have heard of UTI's, also known as urinary tract
- 0:44infections. And normally they don't last
- 0:47very long and you have a course of antibiotics or lots of
- 0:51cranberry juice and they tend to go away.
- 0:53But you can have chronic UTI's and these are things where they
- 0:58don't just go away and you have the symptoms over a long period
- 1:01of time. And it can have sensations like
- 1:03pain or a feeling of needing to go to the toilet a lot.
- 1:06They're in the bladder and it's very, very unpleasant.
- 1:10My name is Adam and I was working with a client that had
- 1:13chronic UTI's and it was affecting their sleep, it was
- 1:15affecting their mood, and it was really depriving them of hope
- 1:19and confidence and the ability to make plans and just enjoy
- 1:23life. This session utilizes some of
- 1:27the unconscious metaphors that this client had, like going back
- 1:31to square one or everything crashing down.
- 1:34It uses the client's own metaphors but twist them into an
- 1:39empowering way. Going back to square one has the
- 1:42connotation that life is like a game of snakes and ladders and
- 1:46one thing happens and then you lose every bit of progress
- 1:50you've already made. Which is why in this session,
- 1:53the snakes in this snakes and ladders board get smaller, the
- 1:56ladders get taller, and they feel more empowered to make
- 1:59progress. One of the key things with a
- 2:02long term health condition is feeling that hope is still
- 2:06there. And that's because the opposite
- 2:09of hope is not only hopelessness, but helplessness,
- 2:13a feeling that whatever you try, nothing's going to work.
- 2:16And that's why having a compelling vision of the future
- 2:19is such an important element of the healing process.
- 2:22There's lots of healing metaphors in there.
- 2:24So even if you don't have a chronic UTI, but maybe you have
- 2:28a different chronic health condition, lots of these
- 2:31suggestions here should be quite useful for you.
- 2:35However, some of the suggestions are very, very specific to the
- 2:39client. Their favorite beach had a
- 2:41particular type of tree. Certain metaphors they use, but
- 2:44you might use the same metaphors.
- 2:47Therefore, if you like the idea of having a tailored, bespoke
- 2:51hypnosis session for you and your circumstances, your
- 2:54situation, in the description, you're going to find a link to
- 2:58book a free consultation call over Zoom.
- 3:01We'll have a chat and it might be that I'm the right
- 3:03hypnotherapist to help you with your progress in whichever area
- 3:07is what you're looking to make progress in.
- 3:10For now though, you might get some value from this session, so
- 3:13find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:16Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:48you breathe in, breathe in a wonderful feeling of calm, a
- 3:56feeling of relaxation, and breathe in that calm relaxation.
- 4:04And as you exhale, give permission to release feelings
- 4:12of stress, frustration, maybe even anger or annoyance.
- 4:21Just allow it to leave your body as you breathe out, as you
- 4:30breathe in that calm relaxation, just allow your eyelids to relax
- 4:36even more, feeling heavier. Scan all the muscles in your
- 4:41face, around your cheeks, your chin, your jaw, your forehead,
- 4:47and set the intention to release any tension.
- 4:54That's it. It's natural when people going
- 4:59through difficult times, but that vigilant part of their
- 5:04brain that fight or flight is activated, which creates more
- 5:11tension, more stress. But when you feel tense and
- 5:16stressed, you tend to have less energy remaining for healing and
- 5:23recuperation. So right here, right now, get
- 5:30permission to let go. Let go of any tension, any
- 5:39stress, any worries, and maybe there's clues.
- 5:46Your jaw starts to loosen, your cheek muscles feel heavier and
- 5:55feel that relaxation going down your neck into your shoulders.
- 6:00That's it. And I want you to imagine what a
- 6:06healing colour might look like. For some people it's bright
- 6:13white, like the centre of the sun.
- 6:17For other people it might be a soothing blue or a pastel green.
- 6:24Allow your unconscious mind to let you know what a healing
- 6:30soothing colour would be. And then as you breathe in,
- 6:36imagine breathing in and healing colour almost like a beam of
- 6:43light. Breathing in, that colour of
- 6:47light. Imagine it going down your
- 6:52windpipe, into your stomach, into your lungs, into your
- 6:58bladder, into your bones. Imagine these healing colour is
- 7:07going wherever it needs to. And they did experiments many
- 7:14years ago, but they told people that a pill would help defend
- 7:23against an infection. And then they measured the
- 7:28amount of white blood cells. And even though the pill was
- 7:35nothing at all, the white blood cell count increased, giving you
- 7:43evidence that the human body is capable of responding to
- 7:50suggestions and expectations and healing.
- 7:57So imagine as you breathe in that healing colour, it
- 8:02represents healing, hope and relaxation.
- 8:08And as you breathe out, imagine releasing some of the emotions
- 8:13you felt, Sadness, stress, any anger, frustration, any worries.
- 8:24And imagine that leaving your body as you breathe out like a
- 8:28dark shadow, breathing in and healing, relaxation and
- 8:37exhaling, the very things that can contribute to a body in
- 8:47defence. That's it.
- 8:50And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 8:57And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 9:04Each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 9:09And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 9:13And I wonder if you could imagine a beach somewhere warm,
- 9:21somewhere peaceful, somewhere with golden yellow sands, with
- 9:30calm waters. And I want you to imagine what
- 9:38it would feel like to have that beach all for yourself.
- 9:44Imagine a blue sky, warm sunshine.
- 9:50But I want you to imagine the shade of a Beech almond tree and
- 9:59just imagine a big blanket there underneath the tree in the
- 10:05shade, the kind of shade that stays shade.
- 10:12And I wonder if you could imagine walking on that beach
- 10:18and placing your body on that blanket, feeling almost like the
- 10:25sand shifts to support your weight.
- 10:30Imagine hearing the gentle breaking of the waves.
- 10:36Imagine the feeling, the sensation of a gentle breeze.
- 10:45Maybe the smell of the sea air, but perhaps nearby smells,
- 10:54plants, fragrances. And as you imagine flying on
- 11:00that blanket, giving permission to just release, I want you to
- 11:09recall the time when you felt healthy, connected, that your
- 11:19body was working just as you wanted it to.
- 11:27And as the rhythmic sound of the waves meets the rhythm of your
- 11:32breathing, I wonder if your body begins to remember what safety
- 11:40feels like. A time when your nervous system
- 11:47didn't have to do anything, at a time when your muscles were
- 11:52loose and relaxed, at a time where your mind can just drift
- 11:58and play in the playground of your imagination.
- 12:06And I want you to come to the conclusion that every wave is a
- 12:13reminder that healing itself is a natural rhythm, sometimes
- 12:22rising and sometimes falling, but always returning to that
- 12:30state of calm. And with each exhale, connect
- 12:39that feeling of lightness, that feeling of being free,
- 12:47continuing to exhale any of those heavy emotions you've been
- 12:51holding onto and breathing in more of that relaxation, that
- 12:58hope, and that healing. I want you to feel that you are
- 13:05safe now that your mind begins to communicate with the body and
- 13:13the body listens. Imagine what it would feel like
- 13:19if your cells began to relax. How it would feel if your immune
- 13:25system balances and all the systems that once felt on guard
- 13:33start to cooperate again. Like a well rehearsed orchestra
- 13:40finding its harmony. And there under the tree,
- 13:48there's nothing you need to do, nothing you need to force.
- 13:53Just allow as you start to imagine that healing light
- 14:01there, there around your gut, your bladder, your intestines,
- 14:08the lower part of your abdomen, just imagine the healing light
- 14:14congregating at a cellular level, doing whatever is needed
- 14:23to remind the cells, the tissues, even enzymes and
- 14:29neurotransmitters what it was like before.
- 14:36Connect the resources of the past with the sensations of the
- 14:42present. That's it.
- 14:47As you start to feel that healing happens most easily when
- 14:53it's invited, not demanded. You've had times where you've
- 15:02scratched yourself, but you couldn't force the healing.
- 15:08The healing just happened, and then you only noticed that you'd
- 15:15healed when you stop noticing that you hadn't.
- 15:23And as your mind drifts deeper still, I want you to imagine
- 15:30perhaps there in the sky, a giant game board like Snakes and
- 15:37ladders. And sometimes we think of life
- 15:49like snakes and ladders. But sometimes when things don't
- 15:54go the way we want them to, it can feel like wheels coming off
- 16:00a go Kart, constantly needing to put them back on again only for
- 16:06them to fall back off. Or sometimes like that game of
- 16:11snakes and ladders, where sometimes it can feel that a
- 16:17flare or a set back since you're sliding all the way down a long
- 16:23snake back to square one when you started.
- 16:30But I want you to feel that that was never true.
- 16:34It can't ever be square 1 because you've learned too much
- 16:40between now and then. All of the wisdom, all of the
- 16:47strategies, all of the education and self-awareness.
- 16:54I want you to imagine that giant game board and all of the snakes
- 16:59are shrinking. There is no back to square one
- 17:02now. Even the longest snake only
- 17:06takes you back two or three rows.
- 17:11And as the snakes get smaller, the ladders get taller, because
- 17:19you now know what helps you more than you ever did before.
- 17:26That good quality sleep, certain treatments being believed and
- 17:33supported. They all help.
- 17:38And I want you to get a feeling that the game has never looked
- 17:44quite so favourable as it does now.
- 17:49Not only are the snakes smaller and the ladders taller, but you
- 17:54know exactly where they are, empowering you to avoid some of
- 18:00those snakes and seek out more of those ladders.
- 18:06As you imagine, winning this game is simply allowing your
- 18:13body to return to its natural, healthy state.
- 18:21That's it. You're wiser, better prepared.
- 18:27You see the patterns, the triggers, the early signs, and
- 18:32you know how to step around them and allow each ladder to
- 18:39represent a different way forward.
- 18:46Think of particular type of therapy that works for you,
- 18:53helping the body's own intelligence find and neutralize
- 18:57what needs to change. Another ladder may be good
- 19:03quality sleep, the body's natural medicine, repairing and
- 19:11restoring at every level, progress, hope, even a
- 19:24particular doctor that's supportive and helpful.
- 19:29They're all ladders, and every time you climb a ladder, your
- 19:35perspective expands and you can see how far you've come, even
- 19:44though squares you once feared now hold lessons that make you
- 19:50stronger. So now, if everything feels like
- 19:55it's crashing down, I want you to feel like you're protected by
- 20:01your own bunker. Even if things do crash down,
- 20:07you remain safe and protected. The game that once fell cruel or
- 20:16impossible to win is now feeling like growth, a journey, not
- 20:25punishment, as every roll of the dice moves you closer to healing
- 20:32and wholeness. And you can thank that part of
- 20:42you, the part that carried the anger, the fear, and the guilt.
- 20:48It was only trying to protect you.
- 20:52But give permission to that part to rest.
- 20:58Because a new part of you is emerging, a calmer, wiser, more
- 21:07compassionate self who knows that healing is happening even
- 21:14when unseen. Every breath you take teaches
- 21:22your body that it is safe to heal, and every moment of rest
- 21:29teaches your mind that it is safe to hope.
- 21:35And even when those setbacks come, you can meet them not with
- 21:43a feeling of frustration or devastation, but with a calm
- 21:48authority. I've been here before, I know
- 21:54what to do. This is temporary.
- 21:58I can manage. And as you hold those beliefs to
- 22:02be true, maybe you'll notice that the setbacks become
- 22:08shorter, the flares less frequent, and the recovery more
- 22:16rapid. The difficult times pass more
- 22:21quickly as their grip weakens and their echo fades.
- 22:29Because resilience is not about never failing, never having
- 22:36those setbacks. It's about surfing the waves of
- 22:42those setbacks faster, lighter, more tenacious each time.
- 22:57I want you to change that giant board of snakes and ladders now
- 23:03for a hologram of your future. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 23:09yourself maybe six months, perhaps a year into the future
- 23:14and observe yourself waking up looking lighter, feeling
- 23:20lighter, freer. Imagine stretching, seeing
- 23:27yourself with a quiet confidence in your body, almost like a
- 23:32trust that's been rebuilt. And maybe in that future you see
- 23:37yourself making plans again, holidays, work, travel, laughter
- 23:44with friends. But see yourself doing creative
- 23:50things, photography, time in nature, earning money again.
- 23:57See yourself looking purposeful, creative and alive.
- 24:02But crucially, see yourself doing the things that would feel
- 24:09challenging to have done in the past and yet get a sense that
- 24:14you are doing those things in your future.
- 24:20See yourself with more joy, more playful, fun conversations,
- 24:29family time that seems to feel light and free and happy.
- 24:37More laughter. I don't want you to get a sense
- 24:46you're seeing yourself spending more time behind that camera,
- 24:55immersed in a world where you get to see things that other
- 25:00people simply can't see. And I want you to get a sense
- 25:07that just like a powerful lens, you're zooming out of all of the
- 25:15pain and anguish and zooming in to that future.
- 25:24And maybe one day, far in the future, you look back on this
- 25:29period of your life, not as a fall, but as the time you
- 25:36learned just how powerful your body truly is, how strong your
- 25:44mind became, and how you evolved emotionally with more compassion
- 25:53or resilience, more inner resolve and strength.
- 26:02I want you to float into that future getting a feeling of what
- 26:06it would feel like to have that in advance, like you're setting
- 26:10the coordinates for your mind to know how to get to this place.
- 26:20Like the cross on a treasure map.
- 26:23This is now hard wired into where your unconscious mind is
- 26:26sending you into this future. Return to that shade under the
- 26:35tree. And I want you to feel that very
- 26:41soon. I will count from 1:00 to 10:00.
- 26:47And if you're listening to this at a time when you wish to
- 26:51awaken, when I arrive at 10, your eyes will open and you will
- 26:57awaken feeling fresh and rejuvenated with more hope and
- 27:02resilience. But if you're listening to this,
- 27:07perhaps in bed with your head on a pillow, as I count from one to
- 27:1210, the numbers will simply shift this experience into a
- 27:20stepping stone into deep, rejuvenating quality sleep.
- 27:27And you will awaken at the right time, perhaps the following
- 27:32morning, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, starting to count
- 27:41123, 456, 789 and 10. Thank you so much for joining me
- 28:10on today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 28:13If you've enjoyed this episode or got some value from it,

- 28:24particular episode, in which case share the episode with them
- 28:28so they can also get the benefit too.
- 28:31And if you would like to listen to this episode where it's just
